fuck it. ronance wedding headcanons
- they def had an unofficial lil backyard “wedding” with the party back in the 90s. like, jeans and tee shirts and 15 dollar rings and eat hot dogs around a fire pit unofficial
- they kept those cheap ass rings on 24/7, and when they finally rusted and crumbled and were absolutely unwearable they put them in nancy’s ballerina trinket box, the one robin’s still fascinated by after all these years
- when they bought their first house (they move to indianapolis so nancy can work for the star btw, i feel like robin would be some sort of counselor too?), the first thing robin did was take a big ol bulletin board and nail it right to the bedroom wall. for the next twenty years it became their dream board, where they’d pin magazine clippings of suits and dresses, rings and bouquets and venues, dreaming of the day it could be their turn for real
- they have a record player in their kitchen and play cheesy slow music, elvis and frank sinatra typa stuff, while they cook or eat dinner or do work at the counter. every time a song that nancy likes comes on she begs robin to slow dance with her, and she grudgingly agrees every time. and robin fucking sucks. tripping over nothing, not knowing where to look or put her hands, getting flustered at every little move her girlfriend makes. nancy jokes that robin better not be like this during their first dance, and robin grumbles back that she’d rather hire a stunt double than suffer through this (she secretly loves it tho)
- attending weddings is so hard for them. not that they’re not happy for the couples, but because they know they might never get one of their own. when they get. home from max and lucas’ wedding, nancy breaks down in robin’s arms, sobbing that it would be so much easier if she were straight. robin holds her tight and reassures her so gently, and after she calms down they pull out the stack of wedding inspiration books they’ve acquired over the years, put on an old rom-com, settle side by side on the couch and stay up until 3 am gushing over ideas
- in 2015, the moment the announcement comes out that the supreme court legalized gay marriage, nancy speeds home from work, like, 20 miles over the speed limit and finds robin on the front steps, sobbing her eyeballs out, a big dumb grin on her face. nancy gets down on one knee right there on the driveway, not caring that it’s pouring rain and she doesn’t have a ring and and she looks like she just stepped out of the goddamn upside down. robin drops to the ground in front of her and kisses nancy harder than ever before
- nancy wants a traditional wedding. robin wants fun and unique, none of that “old-fashioned bullshit”. they butt heads over it constantly during the planning process, but slowly grow to adore each others’ styles and compromise on every detail
Tumblr media
the invitations ^^^ they have a cute lil spring wedding right before their 50th birthdays😇
Tumblr media Tumblr media
robin’s suit n nancy’s dress ^^^ nance would absolutely be the typa girl to wear karen’s old dress and robin would want the most basic, no frills suit to ever exist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
their shoes ^^^ robin can barely stand on her own two feet so heels were out of the question. nancy spent weeks and weeks learning how to embroider just so she could surprise her fiance with cute flowered converse at their bridal shower. robin cried
Tumblr media Tumblr media
their hair ^^^ idk what to caption this with lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
their flowers ^^^ ruth n rose colors, Nancy thought it was fucking hilarious when robin suggested it so it stuck. the idea of robin in a boutonniere makes me drool too
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the ceremony n reception ^^^ nance wanted to get married in a big white church like she saw in movies when she was a little girl, robin wanted someplace quaint and cozy to spend the night surrounded by her best friends. worked out perfectly
Tumblr media Tumblr media
their rings ^^^ adorbs
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the cake^^^ robin would 100% take nancy's last name bc she worships her wife and fuck stereotypes
Tumblr media
^^^ i like to think steve jokingly suggests they serve ice cream, a lil nod to their scoops days, not expecting robin to adore the idea and immediately write it down
Tumblr media
best men steve and jonathan ^^^ they wouldn't have bridesmaids cuz what other women do they need in their lives tbh👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩
other stuff:
-being apart for like 3 hours while they get ready is torture. before the ceremony they do that first look thingy where they're standing back to back on opposite sides of a wall and they're holding hands and they're so nervous and giggly and then they do a countdown and peek around and both of them just stand there in shock. like they just watched the sky open up and an angel fall to earth. and then nance throws her arms around robin's neck and they start bawling cuz they realize their 20-plus-year dream is coming true UGH. when they step back robin runs a finger through nancy's curls and whispers how she's as beautiful as the first time she laid eyes on her and nancy melts
-they walk down the aisle hand in hand, exchange long sappy handwritten vows, and fall so perfectly into place when they kiss. it's like a scene from a disney movie. not dry eye in the damn building
-at the reception, there's lil charcuterie boards at each table, and they serve wood-fired pizza cuz it's what they ate on their first date (plus it's robin's fave)
-steve and jonathan bring the HOUSE down with their best men speeches. steve's is full of embarrassing jokes about robin that make her face turn red, and when he brings up how she peed her pants in the russian lab she jokingly (kinda) threatens to slit his throat. jonathan's is so sweet and tender and you can tell he still loves nance so so much
-after the speeches robin excuses herself outside and comes back 5 minutes later with a guitar. she plays a song she wrote for nancy. it's generous heart. because maya is robin in this world and doesn't exist and tbh i don't care. it's incredible
-their first dance song is first day of my life by bright eyes
-i hate ted and idk anything aboutt robin's dad so they don't get dances whoops
-nancy cuts the cake because robin with knives is a death wish
-the ice cream cart is a huge hit (steve brags about it for years). robin's a chocolate girl and nancy's a lemon sorbet lover
-they drink champagne and dance to 80s music until the ceiling spins. around midnight nancy grabs robin's hand and pulls her through the crowd to the balcony. they sway there together under the stars, foreheads pressed together, pressing an occasional kiss to the other's cheek. in that moment, they both agree nothing on their dream board could be as good as this
Tumblr media
-ALSO instead of a honeymoon they take a road trip, driving route 66 to california, stopping to take pictures at every little landmark and singing at the top of their lungs for hours💘

Silk Chiffon (why wouldn't it be?)
Tumblr media
Robin Buckley x Nancy Wheeler
Summary: Robin can read Nancy like her favourite book, it just takes her a few tries to get the translation right.
Warnings: coming out, demisexual Nancy, anxiety about the future ad regrets from the past. first kiss, love confessions
a/n: i know demisexuality wasn't coined till like 2004/2008 (depending on the source) but it just fits here and so I'm using it
word count: 2k

Robin can tell something is up. They’re trying to sleep, laying side by side in her twin bed, Robin facing her while she stares up at the ceiling. Eyes open, hands interlocked and laying on her stomach, her breathing is a little too fast. Like her thoughts are racing and therefore, her heart must be, too.
“Do you want to talk?” Robin whispers.
Nancy lets out a deep sigh, “no… but yes.”
“You can tell me anything,” she reminds her. After all they’ve been through, there’s nothing Robin can’t handle now.
“Can I ask you a question?”
She nods, “yeah, of course.”
She scoots a little closer to Nancy as she turns to face robin, inches from her face now, so her whispers can’t be heard by anyone else. “Are you… asexual?”
“What? No?” Robin’s absolutely shocked by that. “Why would you think I am?”
“Cause Steve hits on anything with a pulse and you’ve never gotten with him. You’re so adamant that you’re platonic with a capital P and he obviously would respect you if you turned him down but like… you guys don’t flirt. Steve flirts with everyone, but not you?” She explains, rambling a bit which is so unlike her.
“He did try and tell me he had a thing for me… when we were high, after the Russian’s… but I uh, I um, I’m—” she tries to swallow, to get some moisture back in her mouth. Terrified that this is where the friendship dies. This is why she never had sleepovers before. Telling someone the truth after spending so many nights side by side can only end one way. Disgust. Betrayal. Being kicked out and humiliated in the middle of the night.
“Robin,” she reaches out and soothes her hand over her shoulder and down her arm. “It’s okay.”
She takes a deep breath, nodding slightly. “I’m a lesbian.”
“That’s wonderful,” Nancy smiles at her. “I’m proud of you for telling me… I love that you trust me.”
Robin feels like crying but she doesn’t, she just lets out a breath she didn't know she was holding for so long, “thank you. Really.”
“How did you know?” Nancy asks. “Like, did you always know or did it sneak up on you?”
“Oh, I uh, I always knew,” she explains. “Like… when all the other girls were swooning over boys, I was so disgusted by it. My mom thought I was just a late bloomer but then, then I got a crush. I didn’t think it was a crush but the more I thought about it, the more I was so worried I was just obsessed with her. Like a freak.”
“That’s how I felt about Steve at first,” she explains. “But that’s just because I thought that was what you were supposed to do when you like someone.”
“Yeah, it feels so intense you just want to look at them and be near them and—and relate to them, so you become who they want to get closer to them and you lose a bit of yourself,” Robin rants. “I hate it. I wish someone would like me for me, that someone could see me for who I really am and stay who they really are and we can stay happy together.”
“I want that too,” she sighs.
“We’ll find it,” Robin gives her a little smile.
“Would it be okay for me to tell you a secret now?”
“Why wouldn't it be?”
“When I was touring the campus in Boston, mom went to find a payphone so she could call home and see if Holly was okay… I went to the store to get a sweater but I ended up finding all the textbooks for each course and—and I bought the book for the human sexualities class,” she explains. “And I read it all.”
“Can I read it next?” Robin asks, thinking nothing of it. Nancy loves to learn, there’s nothing wrong with that.
“Yeah, it’s just…” she bites her lip for a second. “Have you ever heard of demisexuality?”
She shakes her head, “no.”
“The way the book described it is basically someone who only develops sexual feelings for someone or enjoys and initiates sex with someone who they’re emotionally close with,” she explains.
“Makes sense,” Robin nods along. “So, is that why you asked if I’m asexual?”
She nods, “Yeah… and because I think that’s me.”
“Oh?”
“With Steve, the first time was so— not bad, but uncomfortable. I wanted to, at least I thought I did. I thought lying to your parents and going to a boy's house to drink beer and have your first time was such a normal teenage girl thing to do that I did it. But I didn’t enjoy myself—
“Most girls don’t the first time,” Robin validates her feelings. “I’m not saying you’re not demisexual, I’m just saying that’s normal.”
“I know it is, but… then I kept dating Steve. I did fall in love with him, he was a good friend to me and the sex did get better, which I know you don’t want to hear about but—
“I don’t mind,” she giggles slightly. “I always knew he wasn’t as good as he bragged to be.”
Nancy laughs too, “he was good. It just took me a while to initiate it and have fun and then there was Jonathan. It was so different with him, that first time was so good. It was months of building a friendship and an understanding that bubbled to the top and it was wonderful. But then it died. As we drifted apart, as he stopped being my best friend, the longer we weren’t together, the harder it was to keep loving him.”
Robin nods, “And that happened with Steve too?”
“No. No, it faded with Steve because of Jonathan. Like, I have a one-track mind when it comes to love and whoever my best friend is at the time is the only person I want to be with. And I hate myself for that,” she explains.
“You were also a teenage girl, I mean, you still are,” Robin talks her off the ledge. “You’re 18. You don’t need to have all the answers and be 100% perfect all the time. I mean there are adults in their 30s and 40s who cheat and ruin families all the time, you’re not like that. You have time to learn who you are and what you like and be truly loved. It’ll be okay.”
Nancy starts to cry a bit, “I don’t think it will…”
“Hey,” Robin moves in closer, pulling her in against her chest, she runs her hand over Nancy’s back. “You will. You are loved. Very loved.”
“That’s why I’m so scared. I don’t want to lose this,” she whispers, her voice smaller than it’s ever been. She hugs Robin so close, “If I love you… if we get together just to go to different colleges and spend days not talking, it’ll dwindle and die like everything else and I can’t lose you. You’re my favourite friend I’ve had in a long time.”
“So that’s why you asked… cause if I was asexual we couldn’t hook up and you wouldn’t lose me,” Robin pieces it all together.
She just nods against her, “I have loved this time so much. I love how we talk about everything. I love how we can do nothing and still enjoy it because we're together. I love that life with you is so easy and fun and—and I just love you.”
Robin simply kisses the top of her head before resting her cheek against her, “I love you too… but unlike those two idiots, I’m not going to let the best girl I’ve ever known in my whole life just walk away. You’re going to get sick of me. I’m going to call you in Boston, and I’m going to come visit when I can, we’ll be home for Thanksgiving, Christmas and spring break and if you get a summer internship in Boston, I can come out there for the summer. If I get to love you, to really love you, I’m making it work for the long run.”
“Is Steve going to be okay with it?” She worries more.
Robin just laughs, “Yeah, seeing as he’s had to listen to me pine over you for months now, he knows. He’s okay… he has someone special of his own now. I’ll let him tell you who, but he’s okay. He’s moved on. We’re allowed to be happy.”
Nancy lets out a relieved laugh, holding Robin even tighter. “Oh my god, it feels so good to tell you. I have been thinking about this for weeks. Months maybe.”
“You have a killer poker face then,” Robin teases. “I thought you were so straight.”
“I did too,” Nancy whispers, adjusting her head so she’s closer to Robin’s throat. She gives her a little kiss, “Then I spent a week with you and something brewed and all I could think about was seeing you again, and talking to you again and kissing you to get you to shut up.”
Robin laughs, “Yeah, that’s one way to do it.”
Nancy straddles her, a knee on both sides of her hips, her arms wrapped around her middle, she keeps kissing the side of her neck. “I’ve wanted to kiss you for so long.”
“I’ve never been kissed before,” Robin admits. “I’ve never done anything, before… I’m not sure I’m ready to just jump into it, either.”
“I’m not ready for that either,” Nancy agrees, holding her tighter for a moment before she props herself up on her hands and leans over her. Her hair dangling down in Robin's face, she reaches up to push her hair back behind her ear. “But I would like to kiss you.”
“Please?” Robin all but begs.
Balancing on one hand, Nancy cups her face gently, rubbing her thumb over Robin’s cheek. She leans in slowly, savouring the moment, building anticipation before it happens.
One touch, 4 lips meet, one explosion, 2 lives better in an instant.
Suddenly, all at once, she understands the big bang. How something so small could create so much. She understands every love song and poem, every painting and sculpture… every depiction of the world from a lens of love and happiness and longing and belonging.
The kiss deepens, and she follows Nancy’s lead because she knows what she’s doing. Sure, she’s seen enough movies to get the gist of making out, but there’s something so different about experiencing it firsthand. The way her tongue feels so right against her own, how their lips move in tandem like they were programmed this way… how Nancy slips from her perch and rests her body weight on her and Robin's hands instinctively wrap around her and she holds her there.
Nancy brushes her hair back a few times, trying to get it out of Robin’s face and stop it from tickling her, but it keeps falling back down. Eventually, Robin misses the feel of her hand on her cheek, so she gathers Nancy’s hair in her hands and holds it as if her fist was a ponytail. To her surprise, Nancy just hums against her, thanking her while her tongue is in Robin's mouth.
She never wants this to end.
She could make out with Nancy for the rest of her life if she was allowed. They could never leave this bed again for all she cared. She would give up every early pleasure for Nancy’s.
When Nancy does eventually pull away, it’s just a millimetre before she rests her forehead against robins. She’s breathing just as deep as Robin, flushed and craving more but they said they wouldn’t. They can’t. It needs to be more special than in the middle of the night in the Wheeler’s house with people on either side of her walls and across the hall.
“I love you,” Nancy whispers.
“I love you,” she whispers right back. “There’s no getting rid of me now. You’re stuck with me, I hope you understand that.”
Nancy just giggles that beautiful giggle. “Good.”

Title: I'd Like to Know You
Ship: Nancy Wheeler x Robin Buckley
Warnings: Homophobia, blood, usage of slurs, classic 1980's close-mindedness.
[A/n: Did this cure my writers block? Maybe. But probably not. Also, I didn't proofread]
Main Masterlist | Read my stuff on AO3 | Leave Requests
There was a distinct sound that accompanied broken ribs. It was a pop that was often muted and overruled by a grunt, or a scream, or any type of frazzled sound. Nancy Wheeler was sure she broke her ribs the first time she handled something stronger than a handgun. Of course, they were just bruised, but it still took her a few moments to pull gunpowder-soaked air into her lungs.
The sound she heard when Robin Buckley’s side slammed into the slate gray 1979 Camaro was undeniably that of broken ribs. She’s been shoved into the door with enough force to enact the quiet crunch, and to Robin’s credit, she barely made a noise.
Tommy Hagen pulled his hand back, already thick and crusted with blood, and brought it down into Robin’s mid-section, not allowing her to catch her breath. She coughed up a black burst of gore, spilling over Tommy’s letterman jacket.
Carol Perkins sat on the hood of an adjacent car, her heels on the fender, her gum a delicious type of purple that Nancy could smell from here as she stretched it over her tongue and let it pop against her lips in a sticky mess. She looked bored- had the audacity to be unamused as Robin lay wounded.
Nancy took a step forward before she was halted by a hand on her shoulder. It was warm and tender and filled with worry. “Nancy, don’t. It’s better to leave it.” Barb Holland grimaced, holding her books closer to her chest.
When it came to Robin Buckley, people tended to look the other way, including Nancy. There had been rumors that circulated about her since middle school, cruel names that were thrown around, written on her locker with dark cherry red lipstick. She carried herself with dignity and took beatings as if they were nothing.
But today was undeniably cold, the parking lot was empty aside for the two perpetrators, and Nancy. Barb had stayed by the doors of the school, her cheeks pink with embarrassment. She would easily close herself away to avoid confrontation and urged Nancy to do the same.
“Seriously, Nance, please.”
She appreciated what Barb was trying to do. Neither of them was one for intervening, also figuring that someone else would. But there was no one else. Nancys eyes darted around the parking lot once more. The sun was starting to set, and the toe of Tommy’s boot kicked into Robin’s collarbone. She was cornered.
Nancy clutched her math textbook until her fingers burned against the cold. She gave an apologetic look to Barb who was already retreating further into the school, before she heard herself shout. “Hey!”
The girl’s voice echoed through the lot with enough power to catch Carol’s attention. Tommy righted himself, turning halfway to peer at Nancy. It took him a few moments to recognize her as she took long and calculated steps across the lot, avoiding the patches of ice.
“Wheeler!” he laughed, holding his arms out like a sadistic ringleader. Blood dripped from his knuckles onto the pavement. “I didn’t think you’d ever show your face around here after your little peep show at the movies.”
“I hope it was worth it, Wheeler.” Carol cackled strangely, hauling herself from the hood of the car. She crossed her arms over her chest and snapped her gum twice more.
Nancy ignored them both in favor for calculating all of her strength and anger into the direction of her textbook. She slammed the calculus second edition into Tommy’s cheek with as much force as she could muster. It made an odd sound that was drowned out by his grunt of discontent.
When his head lifted, a bright flourish of blood edged by a purple forming bruise was obvious against his cheek. His fingers touched the gash, and when he pulled away, he was stunned.
Nancy growled, “Don’t touch her again. Or next time it’ll be more than a textbook.”
“Are you threatening me?” He looked back at Carol as if to confirm. “You’re threatening me for this… this dyke?”
Nancy’s eyes darted down to the girl on the ground. She groaned and spat a mix of saliva and blood onto the cement. She’d heard the slur before, it was one of the choice vocabulary words that sprawled Robin’s bike, her garage, her locker.
Her hands worked faster than her mind, clutching onto the lapels of Tommy’s jacket. She shoved his back against the side of his car. She didn’t’ have enough strength to break bones, but his breath still escaped him.
“You’re used to getting away with whatever you want because you’re a pretty boy, and a jock” He snickered at her and she lifted him from the side of the car and slammed him back down, harder this time. “Listen to me, Tommy. You may think you’re big and strong right now, but you’ve peaked. All you’ll ever be is some washed up highschooler that beat up someone smaller than him.”
His smile was slowly fading, the blood from the cut on his cheek staining his lips a hot pink, diluted color. Nancy wanted to give in to her anger, to make him hurt more than he was hurting now. And for what? For a stranger who clutched her splintered ribs and watched her with a deep, ghostly, stare.
“I’ll tell you a secret, Tommy. After you graduate, you will be the small one. The world is cruel to people who are cruel to it, Hawkin’s especially. And I have the sinking feeling that you’ll never leave Hawkins. Not alive if you keep this up.”
He let out a small noise from the back of his throat, not having a rebuttal at the ready. For good measure, Nancy lifted her knee and slammed it into his crotch with a decent amount of force. Tommy fell into her with a sharp groan, hands quickly going to his manhood.
She shoved him off and let him curl into a ball on the pavement. Carol rushed to his side, rubbing soothing circles on his back. She sent Nancy a poisonous stare, teeth grinding on the grape gum that was surely losing its flavor.
Nancy brushed it off as the adrenaline in her veins started to wear thin.  She used the last of her gall she scooped Robin Buckley off the ground and draped her arm over her shoulders, pulling the girl to her side. She smelled thick metal, of salt that was laid on the road to melt ice.
They got halfway across the parking lot before Tommy gained his voice back. It was pinched with pain. “You’re fucking dead Wheeler! You and your little girlfriend! Dead!”
She paid him no mind, leaning Robin up against the side of her father’s station wagon as she fumbled with her keys. Her fingers were shaking now, but that hardly mattered. She opened the door and shoved the trumpet player unceremoniously into the passenger seat before she climbed in herself.
Nancy peeled out of the parking lot, the tires squealed, and Robin clutched the dashboard, clearly fighting back bile that rose in her throat. Nancy hadn’t thought this all the way through. Where was she supposed to take this stranger who was bleeding profusely?
“You,” Robin spoke for the first time. It was breathy with a rasp Nancy couldn’t pin. “Shouldn’t have done that.”
She nearly hit the brakes on the station wagon if it wouldn’t’ sent them careening into the woods bordering the road. Nancy was heading home, it was subconscious, but she figured she could go in through the basement door and keep her parents from worrying.
“A thank you would work.”
“I… could have handled…it.”
“Yeah, you looked like you were handling it.”
Nancy pulled into her driveway, not paying much attention to her park job, the Station wagon was overlapping the grass. She rounded the side of the car and gently pulled the girl up. There wasn’t resistance, Robin didn’t’ have it in her, that much was clear. Though, she looked at the house, and its surroundings.
It took a few moments to navigate Robin down the stairs to the basement, there was a steady build of ice against cement. She nearly slipped, but the two of them held each other upright and welcomed the warm glow of the basement.
Her little brother was in the small part of the room that was draped with old Christmas lights, pillows, and blankets. Mike sat up an snapped his copy of X-men #134 shut. He took in the sight of Nancy, of her pink sweater that was wicked with dried blood and the injured girl that was wrapped around her.
The first words out of his mouth “I’m telling mom.”
“Do it and your Death Star model gets it.”
Nancy had used the threat before, but there was so much hostility embedded in her voice that Mike swallowed thickly and nodded before dashing up the stairs. She had to trust that it worked as she gently set Robin on the sofa.
There was a first aide kit in the cabinet above the toilet. When she returned, Robin was slumped against the cushions, staring up at the old posters on the ceiling. She blinked slowly and it was clear that it pained her to pull air into her lungs.
Nancy’s softness as she instructed Robin to sit up surprised them both. She used warm water and soap on a washcloth. There was more blood than clear skin on Robin’s face, and Nancy tenderly began to wipe it away, avoiding the gashes and lacerations.
She found Robin’s eyes fascinating. They were a deep shade of pillowy blue, and they held so much pain. As she wiped the russet color away from the girls cheeks, she was met with a smattering of freckles, and soft pink lips. She’d never looked at Robin Buckley before. In fact, most of the time she actively tried to look away.
“What you did back there… it was really brave. I didn’t know you had it in you.”
Nancy scoffed, sliding her fingers against Robin’s jaw as she pushed her head to the side and scrubbed at a strip of dried blood. “Tommy is a dick. I meant what I said. You have way more potential in this world than he does.”
“You don’t even know me.”
“I don’t have to.” Nancy busied herself with finding a bottle of alcohol and a few cotton pads. Robin winced when it touched the cut on her chin, breathing through her clenched teeth. “Sorry, sorry.”
“Most people would have walked away, you know? I’ve never expected Hawkin’s to be this giant welcoming committee with balloons and confetti, but this? It’s usually a witch hunt before and after class. Tommy and his friends… they’ve never gone this far.”
“And they never will again.”
Nancy was surprised by the earnest in her words. She was suddenly aware of their closeness. Nancy was practically draped across Robin to reach the laceration against her hairline. She was unbelievably warm, and entirely beautiful. It made Nancy’s stomach roll, something she attributed to the adrenaline.
Robin swallowed hard, turned her face away. She repeated, quieter this time. “You don’t even know me.”
“Give me a chance.” Nancy urged, placing a bandage carefully on something that was certain to scar. “Let me in, let me get to know you.”
She meant it genuinely. Robin was interesting, and she was wounded, and Nancy swelled with the need to learn everything about her. She shouldn’t have turned a blind eye, it shouldn’t’ have come to this before she gave in and peeled the girl from the sidewalk.
“You kind of owe it to me,” Nancy smirked, bumping the girls shoulder softly with her own “Being your knight and shining armor and everything.”
“Oh, come on, I could have handled it.” She smiled.
“Right, right, totally. I believe you.”
The two of them laughed, Robin’s hand pressing into her ribs, she flinched. “Oh, ouch.”
Nancy felt worry course though her, squeezing Robin’s knee. There was a need to protect her, a stranger that she wanted so desperately to know.  “I’ll go get some ice. And dinner. Dinner is a must.”
“You really don’t have to do that.” Robin said.
“Oh, I know, but I want to.” She lingered by the stairs, eyes soft with emotion. “I might not know you, Robin, but I know that you deserve kindness.”

By now, Robin has reached her. Her hand comes forward slowly, an unspoken question that Nancy simply can’t deny. She lets her cup her cheek with her palm until her index makes its way beneath her chin to lift up her gaze. Their eyes meet and Nancy shivers. “Then go” Robin rasps and tilts her head. A challenge, a dare even. She’s daring Nancy. And wouldn’t it be foolish to give in to that? OR Nancy works as a journalist for The Globe. Now she's supposed to interview award-winning writer Robin Buckley on her recently published book.

4 times nancy thought steve and robin were dating & the 1 time she knew they weren't
Tumblr media
Summary: Nancy doesn't know how she didn't see it before. Robin and Steve are too close- too touchy to not be dating. But why does it bother her so much? She thought she was over Steve.
Word count: 5,825
A/N: This is my first ronance fic and im so nervous!! I've been seeing a lot of ronance content on my dash and reading a lot of fics on here and ao3 so i just had to write for them. Also trying out a new kinda format with pictures instead of a gif. I hope you all enjoy!
CW: swearing, mentions of alcohol, mentions of weed
1.
The first time that Nancy realized that Steve and Robin might have been dating was when she crashed one of their weekly movie nights. She was dropping by Steve’s to return the jacket he lent her the last time their group hung out at Skull Rock. She didn’t plan to stay for more than a minute, just enough to pass back his jacket, make polite but short conversation, then head back home to study for her next chem test. But Nancy unfortunately asked about his plans for the night and suddenly she was sat on the loveseat, munching on overly salted popcorn and watching the new Halloween movie with Robin and Steve, who sat on the couch beside the loveseat, sharing a blanket and a bowl of popcorn.
If Nancy was being completely honest with herself, she was watching Robin and Steve more closely than she was watching the movie. She couldn’t tell you who Michael Meyers killed on screen two minutes ago, but she could tell you exactly what Robin and Steve were doing for the last ten minutes.
Cuddling. Robin and Steve were cuddling. The sandy blonde was tucked into Steve’s side, her head resting on his shoulder as they spoke in hushed voices, giggling every once in awhile. The sight of it made a lump form in Nancy’s throat. She knew that it was irrational to be upset about Steve and Robin’s closeness, but that didn’t stop her from feeling it anyway. The more she thought about it and let herself glance in the direction of the pair on the other couch, it became clearer to her that Robin and Steve were dating.
The lump in her throat turned into a knot in her stomach as the realization hit her. Steve and Robin were her friends and she should be happy for them. Then why was she so upset? Why did the thought of the two of them together neauseate her? She’d been over Steve for two years, so she had no reason to feel this way. That’s what she thought, anyway. She may have to reevaluate her feelings for the brunette after tonight’s events.
When Robin and Steve walked her out at the end of the movie, hand in hand, Nancy did her best not to stare at their intertwined fingers or notice how bright their smiles were when they looked at each other. She tried not to think about why Robin wasn’t leaving with her and the duffel bag that she passed in the hallway on the way to the front door, littered with patches similar to the ones on Robin’s favorite jacket.
She tried not to think of those things as she drove herself home. She tried not to think of those things as she lay in bed at night, willing her body to let her sleep. But the image of Robin’s head on Steve’s shoulder and the sound of lovesick giggling clouded her mind nonetheless.
2.
About a week after the movie night at Steve’s, Nancy headed to Family Video to return a movie and rent a new one. She pushed open the heavy glass door, the bell above the door ringing as she stepped through the threshold. She was in a chipper mood, having gotten an A on her chem test earlier that day, until she saw them. Robin and Steve were behind the counter, standing way too close for Nancy’s liking and whispering to each other. She couldn’t understand why, as the store was empty and there was no one there to hear them. Her mood dampened even more as she got closer to the counter and saw them wearing the smiles that they had reserved only for each other.
They broke apart as soon as they noticed her, sheepish smiles replacing their bright ones. They knew they were caught.
“Nance, hey!” Robin chirped, her voice a whole octave higher than usual, almost as if she was trying too hard to pretend to be casual.
Nancy forced a tight lipped smile and gave a small wave as she approached the counter. Steve and Robin were now separated, now stationed at their respective registers. She headed straight for Robin’s register without a second glance at the Harrington boy.
“Hey, Rob.”
Nancy was undoubtedly still bitter about the previous incident, but she couldn’t help but soften as she stared into the baby blue eyes of Robin Buckley. Robin always had that effect on her. Robin was the calm to Nancy’s storm. The Wheeler girl cleared her throat to gain her composure- to bring herself back down to Earth.
“Do you guys happen to have Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? I came in here on Monday to rent it, but Kieth said it was out.” She leaned against the counter, her palms flat on the purple countertop as she waited for a response from the girl in front of her.
Robin perked up, immediately turning behind her to the black cart, marked “returns”. She rummaged around for a second before turning around again, waving the tape case in the air with a victorious smile. The sight made Nancy smile and her heart soar.
“Just got it back today!” Robin scanned the tape and set it on the counter, “Did you want to get anything else?”
Did she need anything else? Honestly, Nancy could care less if she got to see Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The movie was for Mike, anyway, but she volunteered to go and pick it up while he was at Hellfire so she could see her friends. Though at that moment, she didn’t really feel like conversing with Steve Harrington.
“Don’t think so.”
“Cool.”
An awkward silence fell between the two as Robin finished typing Nancy’s account information into the computer, scanning the movie again, as she had messed up the first time.
“So…” Nancy started, “Any plans after work today?”
She was just trying to make conversation, but it sure sounded like she wanted to see Robin after work. Some may have even interpreted it as the preamble to a date invitation. She cringed at herself, hoping that Robin didn’t misread the situation. Since when was she an overthinker? Nancy Wheeler always acted with confidence, even if she happened to make a mistake.
“Going to Steve’s to watch a bad horror movie, maybe stay over,” She chuckled as she handed nancy her receipt and her movie, “What about you?”
Fucking Harrington again. She felt a pang in her chest at the mention of his name and willed herself not to show any sign of distaste. Nancy should have suspected that they’d hang out after work. They were dating, after all. As much as she loved Steve as a friend, she wondered what Robin saw in him. Even more than that, Nancy wondered why she was so upset about Robin and Steve watching a movie together after work. She had no right to be jealous and she reminded herself of that as she forced another smile.
“Cool. Well, have fun!” Nancy said with as much enthusiasm as she could muster, “I need to head home to deliver this to Mike before Will gets there so uh I’ll see you later.”
She didn’t even give Robin time to reply before she was speedwalking towards the door, desparate to get out of the small video shop.
3.
The Wheeler’s basement was the main hangout spot for both Mike and Nancy’s group of friends. This used to result in daily fights between the two siblings, as both wanted to stake claim on the space on the same days, until finally, they decided that Nancy got the basement on Friday nights and weekends and Mike got it every other day of the week. On Friday nights, Nancy had Steve, Robin, Eddie, and Jonathan over. It was a low-key hangout that sometimes included beer and weed, when her parents weren’t home to to smell it.
Robin and Steve were the last to show up, having gotten off of work later than their usual Friday hangout start time. They bounded down the basement stairs, Robin carrying the “good beer” that Steve stole from his father and Steve carrying the pizza. The sounds of their laugher and clanking cans of beer could be heard even before they had completely descended the stairs.
Nancy’s chest usually filled with warmth at the sound of Robin’s giggles. She usually found herself unable to fight a smile and a small chuckle of her own when she heard the raspy laughter. Usually the sound was music to her ears, but tonight she was almost nauseated by the it because Robin was laughing with Steve, more than likely because of something he said or an inside joke he brought up. Her blood boiled at the thought, but she couldn’t let it show.
“Hey, guys,” Steve managed through his obnoxious laugher.
Robin gave a small wave with the cutest smile to match. Nancy melted at the sight and almost completely forgot about the jealousy she felt a minute ago.
“We got pizza and beer!” Robin chirped, walking over to the coffee table to set 2 six packs down before taking a seat on the couch.
Nancy frowned to herself from her spot on the floor. Robin usually sat by her on Friday nights, it was the only reason that Nancy sat on the floor of her own basement.  Steve followed suit, placing the large pizza box on the coffee table and taking a seat beside Robin, pulling a blanket off of the arm of the couch and over the two of them. The sandy blonde shot a grateful smile at her counterpart and Nancy was once again red hot with jealousy.
After the pizza was devoured and the “good beer” was broken into, Robin settled her head on Steve’s shoulder as she laughed at something Eddie said. Jonathan stood up, his trusty polaroid camera slung around his neck, and snapped a picture of the two all cuddled up together. Nancy stared straight ahead at the two with a grimace and fire behind her eyes as Robin laughed at a story that Steve was telling from their shift earlier that night. Steve’s fingers ran through Robin’s short sandy hair as he spoke. Even in her jealousy, she wondered how it would feel to run her fingers through Robin’s hair. It looked so soft from her spot across from her.
“Nance? Nance?” Eddie shook one of her shoulders from his spot beside her.
She shook her head, finally tearing her eyes away from Robin and Steve to look at the man beside her.
“Yeah, right. I’m here.” She nodded, more to herself than Eddie.
“You were up in space for a second,” He chuckled, taking a quick sip of his beer, “Everything okay?”
“Yeah,” She forced a smile, “Just lost in thought, I guess.”
Eddie quirked a brow and nudged her side with a smug smile, “Do those thoughts happen to be about a certain Harrington?” He asked under his breath.
Nancy scoffed, rolling her eyes, “Absolutely not.”
“Ahh, so you were thinking about Buckley, then,” He whispered just as smugly.
Nancy froze. She had been caught. Was she really that obvious?
“No! Just stressed about my essay for Click’s class,” She defended, tugging at the fibers of the carpet below her and averting the metalhead’s eyes, as she knew he would see right through her.
“Hm,” Was all he muttered before turning back to the conversation that was still going on around them.
Meanwhile, Nancy’s head was still swirling with thoughts of the sandy haired girl in front of her. She had never considered that she was jealous of Robin and Steve because she had a crush on Robin, as Eddie suggested. She always figured that she was jealous because Steve was hogging one of her best friends. But friends don’t think about how pretty their laugh is, or how soft their hair must feel. Friends definitely don’t feel their heart leap into their chest when they hold hands or get nervous to talk to them when they were too close in proximity. Fuck, Nancy had a crush on Robin.
For the rest of the night, Nancy tried to think of anything else. She also tried not to look directly at Robin and Steve and made sure to converse mostly with Jonathan and Eddie. Nancy was stubborn and usually stuck to her guns. She kept her eyes off of the couple in front of her, and  successfully limited her talking to only respond to Jonathan and Eddie, but she still couldn’t keep her mind off of Robin.
The girl of the hour eventually switched spots with Eddie when he complained that his “old knees” were hurting from sitting on the floor for so long. Nancy immediately smelled her vanilla-scented perfume when Robin dropped to the floor beside her. They sat shoulder to shoulder and knee to knee. She silently cursed, wishing for the first time that Robin would go sit anywhere else.
“Hey, Nance,” Robin offered a small smile that Nancy knew better than to believe was real. She knew all of Robin’s tells, enough to know that she was nervous, “We haven’t really talked all night. How’ve you been?”
“I’m- Everything’s been fine.” She answered almost coldly.
It’s not that she meant to come off as mean, she just wanted to seem uninterested, maybe a little aloof, so that Robin wouldn’t push her any further, but her bitterness and jealousy got the better of her.
“Well, I missed you tonight,” She nudged Nancy’s side with a playful smile, obviously trying to emit a laugh from her upset friend, but to no avail.
The close proximity and Robin’s good intentioned prying was putting Nancy on edge, even more than she was previously. Having Robin this close to her was both electrifying and maddening at the same time. On one hand, her presence was always warm and welcome. Robin could make her smile on her worst days. But tonight, Nancy’s revelation made her stomach churn and the sandy blonde girl’s knee touching her own made her nauseous. It was too much for her to handle all at once.
“Yeah, well looked like you were just fine hanging out with Steve.” Nancy’s eyes widened at her own words. She had no idea where her biting words and harsh tone came from, but they were out in the open now. She couldn’t take them back, nor could she bear to look at Robin after she said them, her eyes trained on the carpet below her.
“N-Nance, I-”
“I’m going to head up to bed,” Nancy jumped to her feet, addressing the whole room, “You guys can stay up a little longer though. You know where all the blankets and pillows are down here.”
Nancy ascended the stairs without another word, muffling her sobs and trying not to think of the freckled girl that sat just downstairs.
4.
It was Wednesday, which meant that per Karen and Ted Wheelers demands, Nancy had to go back to school and pick up Mike from his Hellfire Club meeting that got out at 8PM. She thought it was rather annoying, considering the mountain of homework that she had sitting on her desk, including an essay on Gatsby that was due in two days. The thought made her squirm. She hated having unfinished tasks, academic or not.
She pulled into a parking spot by the front doors so Mike could easily locate her and she could get home quicker. She put the car in park and sat back, catching a glimpse of Steve’s red BMW parked beside her and Steve leaning against the hood with headphones on and a walkman in his hand. He was waiting for someone, too. Without a second thought, she got out of the car, making her way to the brunette boy in front of her and leaned on the hood beside him.
“Hey. Waiting for Dustin?”
He shook his head, pulling the headphones off of his head and letting them rest around his neck, “No. He’s catching a ride with Will and Joyce tonight.”
“Oh..” Nancy racked her brain, “then who?” She asked, puzzled.
“Robin.” Nancy felt a pang in her chest at the familiar name. She should’ve known, “Her band practice ran late today. Usually she’s outta here by 6.”
“W-why? Why are you picking Robin up from band?” The green monster of jealousy was out to get Nancy again and she knew it. It was painfully obvious in her tone of voice. All she could do was hope that Steve didn’t hear it.
“Who else would do it?” Steve shrugged, “I won’t let her bike home past 5PM. Too many weirdos out here, you know?  So I pick her up from band practice every Wednesday, whether it runs late or not. Sometimes we get dinner afterwards or hang out at her house for a bit. S’not a bad deal.”
Nancy pictured it, Robin and Steve laughing in the booth of a diner, holding hands and sharing a milkshake, or making out in Robin’s bedroom with one of her many cassettes playing in her stereo. She knew that she was only torturing herself with those images, but she couldn’t help it. Steve painted such a clear picture in her head with so few words, or maybe that was the jealousy talking.
“That’s nice of you,” Nancy forced a smile, “I’m here to pick Mike up from Hellfire on Wednesdays, anyway. So, if you ever wanted to just.. I don’t know, let me pick her up and drop her off at home so you can have the week off, I could totally do that.”
Steve waved her off, bringing his hand to his hip, “No, no it’s fine. We like driving around together, anyway. Rob’s been showing me new music and telling me all about the band drama. It’s really more fun for me than a burden.” He paused, turning to look at the girl beside him, “If I ever can’t make it, I’ll let you know, though.”
Nancy responded with a nod and a tight-lipped smile, afraid that she’d say something she’d regret if she let herself speak.
Suddenly, Robin came walking out of the front doors of the building, clad in the Hawkins High band practice uniform. The white shirt with the green tiger on the front hugged her body in all the right places and the matching green shorts showed off Robin’s long legs. Nancy had seen Robin in her practice uniform dozens of times, usually in the hall right before she runs off to the band room so she isn’t late, but that didn’t stop her from admiring how good she looked in it.
“Ugh!” She exclaimed, throwing her trumpet case in the back seat of Steve’s car, “I’m sorry we ran so late today. The trombones kept messing up their part and Mr. Baum wouldn’t let us leave until they got it right.”
She stripped her shirt off and threw it in the backseat, leaving her in only a black sports bra. Immediately after tossing her shirt, she  slipped her shorts off, and tossed them on top of her band shirt. Nancy’s eyes were blown wide and she stared at the toned muscles of Robin’s stomach and arms for a minute before she came back to herself. She immediately looked to Steve, but he didn’t seem surprised. She tried not to think about how that meant that Robin was comfortable enough to undress in front of him, probably on a regular basis.
“Then once they got it right, the clarinets couldn’t get their shit together and the same rule applied and now here we are, going home 2 hours late.” She finished as she reached in the car to grab pair of green Hawkins High basketball shorts and slip them on.
Nancy had seen those shorts before. They were Steve’s. She’d seen him wear them countless times, from secret sleepovers at her house when they dated, to Friday night hangouts a couple weeks ago. Of course Robin would wear Steve’s clothes. It was extremely common for girlfriends to steal their boyfriends’ clothes, but still, it bothered Nancy.
When Robin was finished with her rant and getting dressed, she took a breath and looked up, cheeks growing red at the sight of the Wheeler girl in front of her.
“Oh god, Nance, I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize you were there. If I did I wouldn’t have…” She gestured over her body, “I’m used to it just being ol’Stevie and I out here,” She chuckled nervously, rocking on her heels.
“No, I- uh.. I just… See I’m- well I’m here to pick up Mike today, so…”
Nancy Wheeler, one of the most intelligent, well-spoken students at Hawkins High was stuttering because of a shirtless, very toned, pretty girl in front of her. She could interview just about anyone for a newspaper article, take the insults of the men at the Hawkins Post, and walk headfirst into danger to fight the Mindflayer or Vecna and do it all with her head held high and unwavering confidence, but the minute Robin Buckley strips her shirt off, all of it goes away and she brings up her brother, of all people.
“Right, Hellfire Club meets  today,” Robin said, a warm smile gracing her features, “It’s really nice of you to pick your brother up.”
Suddenly, Mike’s walking towards her car, a wide grin plastered on his face as he turned around to say his goodbyes to Eddie and his friends. He stood beside his sister when he reached the car. Nancy was still struggling to speak, her mouth and opening and closing like a fish out of water.
“Yeah, well- My um, my parents wanted me to- They don’t want to come back here so-so I do it.”
Mike rolled his eyes beside her, “Nance, let’s go.” He groaned, already impatient.
“Yeah, uh we should go!”
“Us too,” Robin added, “Gotta go grab some dinner, but I’ll see you before first period tomorrow?”
“Totally!” She immediately winced at her over-eagerness.
“Come on, Nancy!” Mike nagged, throwing his head back.
“See ya tomorrow!” Robin laughed as she rounded the BMW to get to the passenger side. She slipped into the car beside Steve.
“B-bye Rob!” She called, but the BMW was already gone.
5.
Nancy had been stopping by the video store much more frequently than she’d ever admit. She wan’t exactly one for movies, that was more Mike’s territory, but she did have her eye on  one Robin Buckley that worked the counter at Family Video. So every day after school, Nancy would drive to the video store with some excuse. Mike wanted to see the new Star Wars movie, her mom wanted a nice rom-com to cuddle up with that night, Holly wanted to see the My Little Pony movie were all excuses that she used, and none of them were true. She was just  too embarrassed to admit that she showed up just to see Robin.
Nancy pushed the heavy glass door open as the bell above it chimed, signalling herr arrival. She didn’t see Robin at the counter this time, only Steve and a big pile of returned tapes beside him. Nancy didn’t panic just yet, Robin could be stocking or rewinding tapes.
She entered the empty store and made her way to the counter, looking around for the familiar sandy blonde mop of hair to pop up between the shelves, but it didn’t show.
“Hey Steve,” Nancy greeted, trying to see past him to the open door of the back room, which to her dismay looked to be empty.
“Nance,”  He responded as he  sorted through the tapes beside him, “What can I do for ya?”
She realized that she didn’t come up with excuse for today’s visit, so she had to think fast.
“I came for me today, actually. I want to have a movie night, but I’m not sure what to watch.”
Steve chuckled, he was definitely onto her, “Recommendations are more Robin’s thing, since she has better taste than me, but you can take a look around.”
Nancy just nodded and turned around to scour the shelves for her favorite blonde. She refused to believe that she wasn’t here. Nancy tried to convince herself that she could have been sitting on the floor between shelves, but even she knew that she was being delusional, as Robin definitely would have popped up to say hi to her by now. So she searched the empty store for a movie that she probably wouldn’t watch.
Suddenly, the bell above the door rang out again and Nancy could only hope that it was Robin starting her shift late. She craned her neck to see over the shelves and she quickly saw that it was not Robin. A tall, curly blonde wearing way too much lipgloss walked up to the counter and leaned on it, popping her bubblegum in her mouth.
“Do you have a copy of The Poltergeist?” The girl asked without greeting as she stared Steve down like she wanted to eat him for dinner.
“Y-yeah, uh we definitely do,” Steve answered as he rounded the counter and took the girl’s hand, leading her to the horror section, “You know, I heard that this movie is really scary. You might want to find someone to watch it with you.”
Nancy knew that tone. She’d heard it countless times when she and Steve dated. He was flirting back when he was dating Robin! She hid between the shelves and continued to listen, peeking through so she could see the two as they lingered by the horror section.
“Oh yeah? Maybe I’ll do that then.” The blonde responded, biting her lip. It made Nancy’s stomach sick.
They continued to flirt back and forth until they ended up back at the counter to check out. Nancy had learned that the girl’s name was Carrie and she was a cheerleader at a school in the next town over.
She watched as Carrie scribbled her name and phone number on the back of her receipt and slipped it bsck across the counter to Steve.
“Call me. You know, in case I need someone to watch this movie with me…” Was all she said before she exited the store.
Nancy was fuming. She thought Steve had changed, but it seemed that he was just fooling everyone and he was still the same  grade A douchebag from 3 years ago.
As soon as she knew that the coast was clear, she speedwalked to the counter empty-handed. She was on a mission, “Where’s Robin?” She asked almost coldly, but she couldn’t bring herself to care.
Steve laughed, “See, I knew you only came here to-”
“Steve, not in the mood. Where is she?”
His smile quickly fell, “Uh… should be home. She called out to do some homework today. Said she was swamped. Is everything okay?”
Without another word or glance at Steve, Nancy took off toward the Buckley residence. He called out for her a few more times before she got to the glass double doors, but she kept walking. He didn’t deserve to have an explanation, Nancy decided.
Nancy’s car pulled into the familiar driveway of the Buckley’s house. It was empty, which meant that her parents were out for the night, but a blue bike with a metal basket attached to the handlebars leaned against the garage door. Robin was home.
Suddenly, she was at the door, her hand hovering over the yellowed doorbell as she took a breath, then she pushed it. Robin appeared, sliding down the hardwood flooring of the main hallway with socks on and Nancy almost completely forgot about her anger. Robin Buckley was a complete ray of sunshine. Her eyes widened in surprise when she peered through the window in her front door to find Nancy standing there.
The door swung open and Robin stood in the doorway, “Nance! Whatcha doin’ here? Not that I’m not excited to see you, because I totally am, but usually you call before you come over. Is everything okay? It’s not the Russians again is it?”
Nancy chuckled, “No, no. Not the Russians… but I wouldn’t exactly say that everything’s okay. Can I com in?”
Robin nodded and stepped aside as Nancy led the way to the Buckley livingroom like it was her own. It may as well have been, Nancy was over all the time. The girls took a seat on the couch and Robin grabbed the remote, pausing Family Ties before turning her attention to the brunette behind her.
“So… What’s wrong?” Robin asked, chewing on her bottom lip anxiously.
“Well I uh went to the video store today and saw Steve. He was flirting with some blonde girl and she gave him her number…  I was just so disgusted with him. Anyway, I came right here so I could tell you. I’m sorry, Rob,” Nancy knew that she only gave an abbreviated version of what happened, but she told Robin what she needed to know and she figured that more details would just make her more upset. But Robin still looked at her with furrowed brows, possibly more confused than she was when she saw Nancy at the front door.
“I-I’m a little lost here, Nance, I’m not gonna lie,” Robin chuckled.
“Steve cheated on you,” She stated plainly and waited for the sobs, for Robin’s beautiful features to twist into a frown, for her to launch herself forward to hold on to Nancy as she cried, but instead, Robin laughed, loud and raspy.
“You thought Steve and I were dating?”
“Y-yeah. I mean, you guys are always cuddly and holding hands and you never go anywhere without him. He drops you off and picks you up from school, for god’s sake! He doesn’t even go to Hawkins High anymore!” Nancy didn’t know why she got defensive, maybe it was because she felt a little stupid, a little confused.
“Absolutely not. Gross,” Robin chuckled, “We’re just close, is all. Though I am surprised that he managed to get a girl’s number. He usually scares them away before they can even offer.”
“So you and Steve...?”
“Very platonic. With a capital P.”
“And you...?”
“Single and very gay,” Robin giggled, still amused by the mere thought of her and Seve Harrington dating, “Thought you knew that, Wheeler.”
Nancy froze. Robin was gay, which meant that she had a chance wirh her.
“W-well, no I uh don’t-didn’t exactly know that specific piece of information,” Nancy looked down at her lap, suddenly very embarrassed, “If I did I wouldn’t have come over here…to tell you that Steve was cheating on you.”
She watched as Robin’s confident smile fell and was quickly replaced by furrowed brows and an almost frown.
“Don’t worry. I won’t like hit on you or anything,” She chuckled nervously, obviously trying to play off her hurt, “You’re uh- you’re safe there.”
Nancy felt a pang in her chest. Robin thought she was disgusted by her.
“Does that mean that I’m not allowed to hit on you either, then?” Nancy wasn’t sure where that sudden burst of confidence came from. Perhaps she was more desparate to prove that she didn’t hate Robin than she was scared to share her true feelings.
Robin’s eyes snapped up to meet Nancy’s, her smile settling back onto her lips, “N-no I’d actually love it if you would hit on me because you’re hot and funny and so smart and I’ve been dropping hints for ages. Though, Steve tells me that I’m bad at that, so it’s not really your fault if you didn’t get them. I-I’d be honored if you’d hit on me because you’re definitely out of my league, I mean… I’m rambling again, aren’t I?” Her cheeks grow red under Nancy’s fond stare.
“A little, but it’s okay. I like to listen to you talk.”
Robin beamed and Nancy swore she could see the glisten of unshed tears in her eyes. The sandy blonde cleared her throat and tried to contain her smile. Nancy wished she wouldn’t. She decided she’d do just about anything to get Robin to smile that brightly at her again, as if she hung the moon, as if she was the center of Robin’s entire world.
“I uh…thank you. No one’s ever said that to me before. Usually people just tell me to be quiet.” The taller girl shrugged, as if she’d accepted that fact. Nancy wished that she didn’t have to.
“Well, I’m honored to be the first, then.”
A few moments of silence passed over them before Nancy glanced at the TV screen to find a still of Mallory Keaton sitting on the couch and remembered that she walked in on Robin watching Family Ties. She realized that she was probably intruding on a peaceful night in and stood up to excuse herself, walking closer to Robin to hug her goodbye.
“I’m uh gonna head home and let you get back to your night with the Keatons,” She chuckled as she gestured to the TV, “I’ll see you at school tomorrow, yeah?”
“No, wait… stay?” Robin asked shyly, “I-I have popcorn in the kitchen, 2 seasons of Family Ties on tape, an extra pair of PJs upstairs, and my parents won’t be home until after school tomorrow. We could have like I don’t know, a date.”
Nancy blushed. She had to admit, a date night in sounded much better than going home. She liked Family Ties and she liked Robin even more.
“Hmm…I could be persuaded, I think. Maybe if you-” Then Nancy was cut off by Robin’s lips on her own. When the shock wore off, Nancy melted into the kiss and rested her hands on Robin’s waist, holding her close and gripping the soft cotton of her t-shirt as if Robin would get away from her if she didn’t hold on tight enough. Their lips moved in tandem as they kissed, soft and slow, like they were trying to savor the feeling, and Nancy was. She’d thought about kissing Robin Buckley for months and now that she finally was, she realized that her lips were softer and her kisses were sweeter than she ever pictured them to be.
She pulled away giggling when she finally needed to breathe, and she saw it again. Robin’s bright, toothy smile. The one that made Nancy feel like she was the center of her world, the one she tried to hide just minutes ago, but didn’t show any signs of doing so this time.
“I’ve wanted to do that forever,” Robin admitted with crimson cheeks and a quiet, giddy giggle, “So…are you persuaded?”
“Not sure.” Nancy said, feigning thoughtfulness, “Think you have to kiss me again. You know, so I can make an informed decision.”
And so Robin leaned in again for the second of many blissful times that night.

Ronance au where Nancy is a princess however she wants to do more for her citizens than to sit and look pretty, so she makes friends with her knight, Steve Harrington, and everyone thinks that they have a secret forbidden love, but in reality Steve has been helping train her.
One day, Nancy heard about an attack on the town, and instead of her parents wanting to go do something, they locked the doors and sent the knights to settle the chaos. Nancy however, snuck out after making her way to the weaponry room where knights armour lay.
It wasn’t long till she found herself down in the town. There were fires as screaming, Nancy followed them to where she found a group of people getting ready to start another. Upon seeing them Nancy prompted to test her skills but one of them quickly tossed her sword to the down in a maneuver faster than Nancy could process. Suprised by the strength and momentum of it Nancy stumbled back, falling onto the ground temporarily stunned. Within that time the criminal picked up her sword pointing it at her while they took of her helmet.
Oddly the crimminal froze, deciding to drop the sword and quickly looking around before offering her a hand. The crimminal gave her a two fingered salute and ran off.
Intrigued by it all Nancy decided she needed to go down into the village and try and find out as much as she could about the group.
Most just talked about how they were terrorist and called themselves Hellfire saying they just were crazy anarchist. One indivisk however, a taller women working a stand of fruit, told her their goal was maybe not to terrorize but to make a point, one fighting for the right of lgbtq individuals.
So basically some other factors:
Jonathan is a prince in another area not too far aware, they have he’ll fire there too. Secretly Will who is also a prince has joined this force because of Mike and his forbidden love. Mike is also in the club in secret, and Eddie Munson is their leader. When Steve finds out that Nancy is suggesting they might not be all that bad, Steve scoffs at her until he finds himself in a meeting with the Eddie Munson himself (to which Steve realizes he too really wants lgbtq rights to be granted…)
Dustin, Lucas, Erica, and the other memebers of bell fire are all apart of this group but work in different fields.
Max is also apart but unofficially, she instead works in the castle as a maid in order to help support her mom.
Jason and his crew are also knights and don’t trust that Nancy isn’t involved and spread to the town how they’re evil terrorist trying to bring chaos to the world.
Ted is a lazy greedy king, and leaves Karen to deal with most of their Royal duties, that is until he hears anything controversial or different than when he knows, such as lgbtq people…he’s extremely homophobic while Karen wants to support the passing of a law to legalize it.
Anyways so fun silly silly fun au

"I don't write much flowery stuff." Nancy tells her quietly after Robin points out the way the chollas cast their shadows like claws. "I mean- newspaper journalism doesn't have much flexibility for that, you have to get the information in as a priority- but I think I could write about- about this.". Nancy smiles over at her. The stetson she's borrowed shadows her eyes but she still squints with the bright sun in their peripheral. Robin wants to reach out, to place her palm to Nancy's cheek to protect her from the glow.
"Are you talking about the view?" She asks hoarsely, hand staying loyally at her own side.
Nancy doesn't answer, but her eyes don't leave Robins.

ronance prompt: "friends kiss each other all the time, right?"
oh look it's like i had a vision of season 5!
The first kiss was a mistake, and Robin’s fault, not that she regretted it. One warm afternoon, after Nancy gave her a ride home, Robin leaned across the car toward her and she swears she aimed for Nancy’s cheek, but Nancy turned her head at the worst - best - possible moment, and just like that, Robin and Nancy kissed for the first time. As much as Robin tried to deny it during her worst moments of self-doubt, the fact that the accidental kiss had lasted a second too long without either of them pulling back remained. After the event, Robin had apologized profusely in a most likely unintelligible rant and stumbled out of the car, literally stumbled, as in, she totally ended up on the pavement. But she eventually made it inside her house, where she was free to overthink till she felt on the brink of death and then Nancy called her that night to talk as they usually did, no mention of the kiss.
The second time was inevitable. There were many good things about being friends with someone equally as smart but in a totally different direction. They challenged each other, encouraged one another to think outside the box, to turn the box upside down with questions, or to absolutely destroy the box in question until it could be assembled back again in a way that solved the mystery at hand. This, however, didn’t come without a price. As it had been obvious since their first time working together at the library, their methods often clashed. Instead of learning how to avoid these arguments as time went by, the arguing only escalated more easily, since they were comfortable with each other, knowledgeable about exactly which buttons to push without pushing too hard, and able to forgive and forget each other in the blink of an eye. Except for the time when they were arguing about something Robin can’t bring herself to remember anymore, and in the heat of the moment they ended up standing so close together that the only viable resolution to the argument had been for Robin to lean down and Nancy to lean up and kiss each other. Brief. Still could be called accidental. Still mind-blowing.
The third kiss? Well, Robin couldn’t stop rambling about one subject or another, and apparently, Nancy couldn’t figure out any other way to get her to shut up. The fourth kiss? After some grueling weeks of Nancy teaching Robin how to drive, when Robin finally got her license she simply could not not kiss Nancy as a thank you, right? Things changed after the fifth kiss though. The two girls were hanging out in Nancy’s bedroom, talking about nothing and everything, teasing each other about their past relationships, carefully not outright mentioning the fact that they were both single, and Robin simply had to know if she was a better kisser than Steve. No big deal, just a matter of pride. The problem, Nancy pointed out, was that she’d kissed Steve much more than a few pecks on the lips. Alas, Robin and Nancy entered the making out with each other territory. Probably helped by the fact that Nancy confirmed that yes, Robin was the better kisser.
After a few weeks of making out with Nancy as often as humanly possible, Robin finally mustered up the courage to ask Steve, “Hey, friends kiss each other all the time, right?”
Steve snorted when he heard her question. “Have we ever kissed?” he asked right back at her.
“Oh shit,” Robin gasped, and started picking up her things, making mostly a mess. “I gotta go. I have to talk to Nancy.”
“Wait,” Steve frowned, following Robin’s hasty movement with his eyes, “Does that mean- Wait. Nancy?! Robin are you-”
“Yeah, I think we’re dating now? I might love her? I don’t know but I’m going to find out right the fuck now. Okay, bye Steve!”

Ronance blurb request: flannel
Send me a winter word and I'll write a ronance blurb
"Please no," Robin says.
Nancy has Karen's Sears catalogue open in front of her at the kitchen table, flipping through the homewares section, and right now her perpetually cold little fingers are pointing directly at the flannel sheets.
Robin can feel sweat starting to break out along her hairline just thinking about that. Robin is a hot sleeper anyway, always one leg hanging out of the blankets in a pair of boxers and a tank top as Nancy curls tight under a pile of covers so thick that the lump of her body is barely discernible.
"The apartment is so cold," Nancy pouts, "and the heater will still be broken when we get back to Boston next week, you know it will."
"Baby," Robin chokes, "Baby, please-"
They compromise on flannel PJs.

Hello everyone, and welcome to Day 4 of Ronancetober! I hope y'all have been enjoying everything I've put out so far, because I've got another one coming your way! This one's got a healthy dose of Platonic with a capital P! Stobin, because those two are the best thing that could've happened to Stranger Things aside from Byler and Ronance becoming canon. It's also got a tiny bit of Stonathan as well, but it's only a brief mention. Anyways, here's my submission for day 4, and I hope y'all like it!
Day 4: Kiss
Robin sighed as she glanced up at the clock for what had to be the umpteenth time within the past five minutes.
“Robbie, if you sigh one more time I’m going to chuck this at you,” Steve threatened, looking at his best friend with exasperation written all over his face, the thing he was about to throw being one of the many VHS tapes he was currently putting back on the shelves.
It hadn’t been super busy today, though Keith neglected to do any of the actual work involved with being a manager whenever he worked with one or both of them. She and Steve knew more about the job than he did. The two of them were essentially running the place, but Keith had the official name tag stating he was in charge.
They had managed to convince him that Steve would most definitely muck something up if Robin weren’t there with him to keep an eye on him, which is how they ended up working most, if not all, of their shifts together, without Keith's supervision. It worked out perfectly for the two of them, because that meant neither one of them had to do anything on their own. It didn’t hurt that it gave Robin even more opportunities to poke fun at Steve.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Is my suffering bothering you? I’ll be sure to keep it down in the future.”
Steve rolled his eyes as Robin smiled brightly, her nose crinkling in happiness as it always did when she managed to rile him up.
After doing a quick lap around the store, Robin determined it was safe. She hopped up on the counter, legs swinging back and forth as she watched Steve stack the tapes on the shelves.
“You know,” Steve grunted as he finally reached the top shelf in one of the many isles, placing the tape down as gently as possible. “You could help me instead of just sitting there, watching me do all of the work.”
Robin couldn't help the snort of amusement that escaped as soon as Steve had finished talking. “You’re one to talk. You left me to rewind all those tapes,” she gestured to the ones stacked up in his arms. “So you could have a make-out session with Jonathan in the back room.”
“Shh!” Steve hushed, eyes darting around frantically to search for prying ears.
“Relax, dingus. I already took a lap. I wouldn’t have said anything if we had customers.”
“Well you could warn a guy next time,” he grumbled.
“Such a baby.”
Steve stuck his tongue out at her in response.
“Who are we calling a baby?”
The nineteen-year-old had to stifle his laughter as Robin practically turned into a puddle where she had been sitting at the sight of Nancy. He knew after everything with Vecna that Robin had developed what she deemed was a minor crush on Nancy, though he would label it as infatuation. Regardless, Robin hadn’t been able to stop babbling about the girl, everything about her crush on Vickie simply flying out the window after the events during the school year, where she had gotten to know Nancy from Nancy herself rather than through all of the stories Steve had about her.
Steve couldn’t blame Robin for falling for Nancy even if he wanted to. Hell, he probably understood the enigma that was Nancy Wheeler better than anyone. After all, he had been lucky enough to date her before everything with the Upside Down transpired. He was brave enough to acknowledge that he had hurt Nancy badly, and she was brave enough to acknowledge that she had hurt him as well. The two of them had a long, rough talk about everything that had transpired between them, and they came to the conclusion that they were much better off as friends than they ever were as a couple.
Needless to say, Steve was quite surprised when Nancy had confided in him that she was crushing on Robin, and crushing quite hard on her at that. He’d had to hold in his laughter when she said she couldn’t discern if Robin was into her the same way. He thought it was quite obvious, but he supposed that could be because he knew Robin better than Robin knew herself. Plus, if Nancy was too worried about not making her own crush apparent, he figured that would occupy most of her attention, enough for her not to notice the heart eyes Robin was constantly shooting her way.
He was between a rock and a hard place. On one hand, if he told one girl how the other felt, it could result in them getting together and earn himself a pat on the back. On the other hand, the girl he told could become furious at him for revealing the other's secret, and when the girl he told told the other girl, he’d probably have two very angry, very determined, and very capable of hurting him women gunning for his head. It was a win-lose situation, so he resolved to keep his mouth shut. However, that didn’t mean he couldn’t intervene in other ways.
“Robbie?”
“What’s up, Stevie?”
“Could you grab me the ladder from the back room?”
Robin arched an eyebrow at him, internally pleading for him not to actually be interrupting her lovely conversation with Nancy. Times with the other girl were far and few between, especially since she had begun working almost everyday to save up so she could move the fuck out of this town.
“Please?” He asked, turning the puppy dog eyes and everything. He knew she could never say no to him when he used the puppy dog eyes.
“Ughhhh. Fine,” she grumbled, apologizing to Nancy before turning around and hopping behind the counter, heading for the backroom.
“You should just tell her, ya know,” Steve said as soon as Robin was out of earshot, placing the tapes down on one of the bare shelves and walking towards Nancy.
Nancy scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest defensively.
“I’m serious, Nance. She’s ready to leave everything behind. We’ve defeated Vecna, we got rid of the Upside Down for good. She doesn’t have a reason to stay.” The words unless you give her one remained unspoken, but they both heard it loud and clear.
“I know,” Nancy muttered, her gaze bouncing around everywhere but at Steve, finally landing behind the counter on the door to the backroom, where Robin was.
“Go,” Steve said quietly, squeezing her arm. “I’ll cover up here.”
Nancy grasped his hand in hers. “Wish me luck.”
He nodded, watching as Nancy walked behind the counter. “You won’t need it,” he muttered, a wide grin settling onto his face as he shot a fist in the air, overwhelmed with joy that he had actually done it. Oh, he couldn’t wait to see the look on Jonathan’s face when he told him he'd won their bet.
“Robin?” Nancy called out, unable to hide the quakiness of her voice.
“Nancy, thank goodness. I can’t find this freaking ladder anywhere. Come help me look,” Robin said, turning to look at Nancy when she didn’t get a response. “Hey, is everything ok? You’re looking a bit pale. And you’re trembling too. Oh God, you aren’t sick, are you? Cause if you are, I can get Steve to drive you home. I’ll come over with soup and ice cream and your favorite movies as soon as I’m done with my shift. We can lay in bed and watch them in your room together. Or I don’t have to stay. I can just drop it off for you and—”
Robin was cut off when Nancy rushed forward, pressing their lips together in an urgent and desperate kiss. Nancy pulled away when Robin didn’t reciprocate, dread slowly filling her chest when the taller girl simply stood there, eyes wide and mouth agape. “Shit, I knew this was a bad idea. I’m so sorry, Robin. I understand if you never want to talk to me again. I-I’ll leave you alone,” Nancy said, turning to walk away, stopping when Robin’s hand shot out and grabbed her arm. “Rob, what—”
Robin tugged on Nancy’s arm until the other girl was facing her, a smile threatening to bloom as her eyes shined with happiness. “Did you mean it?”
“What?” Nancy asked, breathless.
“The kiss. Did you mean it?”
“Of course I meant it, Robin. Why—”
Nancy gasped in surprise as Robin brushed their lips together, eyes fluttering shut as Robin’s hands settled on her waist. She moaned when the taller girl pulled on her hips until they were flush against one another. She reached up, tangling her hands in Robin’s hair, loving the feeling of the soft, curly strands between her fingers.
Robin flicked her tongue against the seam of Nancy’s lips, groaning in pure delight as Nancy’s lips parted, allowing her access to the other girl’s mouth. She started walking Nancy backwards until Nancy’s back was pressed against the door, their mouths never parting.
“Rob-Robin,” Nancy whimpered, a strangled groan leaving her lips when Robin broke their kiss off, only to begin trailing kisses down her neck. She tilted her head, grasping Robin’s hair tightly to hold her in place as she nipped and sucked at her pulse point.
“God, Nancy. You smell delicious,” Robin husked in her ear.
“Kiss me,” Nancy panted.
Robin didn’t need to be told twice. The two of them moaned as their mouths met once again, tongues and teeth clashing together in a messy, passionate kiss. Gradually, the kiss slowed down, ending with Robin sucking Nancy’s lower lip into her mouth, releasing it with a pop. She pressed their foreheads together, unable to hide her massive grin as she looked into Nancy’s eyes. “You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that.”
“Really?” Nancy inquired, her hands splayed across the back of Robin’s neck, thumbs rubbing up and down in a soothing manner. “Me too.”
The taller girl stared at Nancy in disbelief. “Wait, seriously?”
Nancy laughed, eyes sparkling with delight. “Seriously,” she confirmed.
“Wow,” Robin whispered, completely in awe of the woman in front of her. “I can’t believe Nancy Wheeler is into me. Me, of all the people in Hawkins. Please tell me I’m not dreaming.”
“You aren’t dreaming,” Nancy whispered, standing on her tiptoes to press a light kiss to Robin’s lips.
“Nancy Wheeler is into me,” Robin repeated, a dreamy look on her face.
Nancy shook her head in amusement. “You’re such an idiot, Robin Buckley.”
“But I’m your idiot. I mean, if you want me to be. If not, then just let me know so I can begin working on mending my broken heart. Because I don’t think I could handle it if this was just you experimenting or doing it because of a dare or some shit like that.”
“It’s nothing like that. I like you, Robin. More than all of those people I’ve dated in the past.”
“Even Steve?”
“Even Steve,” Nancy confirmed. “In fact, I’d like to ask if you, Robin James Buckley, would do me the honor of being my girlfriend?”
“The honor would be all mine, Nancy Anne Wheeler.”
They sealed the deal with a kiss, as they would with everything from that point forward.

“There’s no way,” Nancy gasped, wishing she could see Robin's face over the phone as she explained what happened the night prior.
“I’m not kidding, we had sex and she wants to do it again sometime,” Robin explains further. “God, I can’t wait to rub it in Eddie’s face that I got to fuck her first.”
“I’m going to have to make a move then, too,” Nancy feels a twinge of jealousy spread throughout her body, for which girl she’s not sure, she just knows it’s there.
“Not satisfied with Steve anymore?” Robin teases her.
She sighs, “you have no idea how boring it is when you’re also a dom, he wants to be in control but so do I and then we just end up hate fucking, it’s annoying.”
“Sex with men, in general, is probably annoying,” Robin sympathizes. “I’m just glad I never had to pretend at all, I think I would’ve died if I had to fuck a man, even once.”
“Some are good, like Eddie,” Nancy lets it slip.
“Excuse me?” She can hear Nancy sit right up, almost screaming down the line. “Since when?”
“Last week after movie night, I stayed back to help him clean up after Steve took you two home and one thing led to another and suddenly I had him cuffed to the bed and used him like a dildo.”
“Holy shit,” Robin can’t believe it. “I never would’ve seen that coming.”
“He called me mommy,” she can’t help but smirk, “it was really good.”
“This isn’t helping my fear that he’ll take Y/N from me,” Robin sighs. “You can’t take her either? Promise me you won’t fall in love with her or something?”
“I won’t,” Nancy promises. “Did you tell her you like her? Does she know you want to be with her?”
“Yeah,” she sighs and tosses her head back against the pillow. “She said she thinks she likes girls too… we kissed a few times and it was nice but I think I should give her some time to think about it before I bombard her with questions about dating me.”
“True,” Nancy agrees. “Can I hook up with her? Maybe then she’ll know for sure she’s into girls and if she likes you and how gentile you are?”
“She’s not my girlfriend, do what you want.”
Thats all Nancy needed.
The next morning at work she decides to write their little friend a note. “Meet me in the Library - Nancy” she added a few hearts and stuck it to Y/N files for the day, knowing she would rush through them to come and see her next door.
she’s in the basement of the Library working on the archives and doing research most days, always completely alone, unless Y/N came down to have lunch with her. She was used to no one bothering her there, and it was basically soundproof with all the books absorbing any noise made down there… it was a perfect spot for her to come onto them and an even better spot if something came of it.
Sure enough, Y/N makes her way down to the library with a smile and a pep in her step, “hey, nance.”
“Hey, cutie,” she uses the group's nickname for her, it fits so well. “How are you?”
“Good, how are you?” She came right over and hugged Nancy where she sat, even kissing the top of her head sweetly.
“Great now… I was getting a little lonely there,” Nancy tries to play off just how much the small amount of affection means to her.
“Well, I’m here now,” she takes a seat beside her. “What did you need me to do?”
“Oh, nothing, I just wanted to talk to you… I talked to Robin last night,” she slips it in not so casually, she wasn’t the best at gradually getting somewhere she was a straight to the point kinda gal… it’s the only area where she’s straight.
“You did?” She panics slightly. “What, uh, what all did she tell you?”
“That you guys fooled around, I’m just seeing if she’s telling the truth, you know, 'cause the boys had a bet on who would get to sleep with you first and she kinda won… I need to be a good judge.”
“They did?” She’s so caught off guard by that. “Do all of you want to have sex with me or something?”
Nancy nods, “Basically… I mean, I’d like to get my hands on you before the boys do. I think it would be funny to know that me and Robin made you cum and they probably won’t.”
“Why not?”
“Oh, honey,” she pet’s Y/N’s head gently. “You have no idea how selfish boys are… I came probably twice my whole relationship with Jonathan. They just don’t care that much about getting us off.”
“Oh,” she can barely breathe with Nancy so close. “I uh, I like cumming… and I think I really like girls who can make me cum.”
Nancy all but growls, the noise leaving her through was absolutely feral for her, “I’d very much like to—
“Right now?”
“Right now,” Nancy confirms as she stands with Y/N’s hand now in hers. “Follow me,” she explains, hauling her up and towards the back corner and against a shelf.
She looks into Nancy’s deep blue eyes and then down to her lips as she crowds her in the corner. Hands-on her hips, making their way up her waist, stopping just under her boobs, all while Nancy cups her face in her hands and leans in. Their first kiss is flawless, perfectly soft and wonderfully new. She settles back against the bookshelf, Nancy pressed against her chest as the kiss heats up, she slots her thigh right between Y/N’s legs and grinds against her.
Y/N moans slightly, hands roaming Nancy’s back as she holds her close. Her tongue is so soft in her mouth, she tastes like spearmint gum and freedom, it’s intoxicating. One of Nancy’s hands slowly makes its way down her neck and over her boob where she takes the plunge and starts to massage her, her other hand now in Y/N’s hair and gripping tight. It’s a little rough but mostly gentile, hot and sweet and wonderful, she can’t help melting under Nancy’s touch.
Nancy kisses the side of her mouth and all the way down her neck while she works on the buttons of Y/N’s shirt, exposing more skin and covering her in kisses. Y/N moans her name, gripping Nancy’s shoulders and trying to get even closer to her. Nancy hikes her shirt up and slots her own slack-clad leg between Y/N’s legs for her to grind on.
“Sound so pretty,” Nancy coos right in her ear, taking the lobe between her teeth gently. She kisses the pulse point right under her ear, sucking gently so she’ll moan again. “I’ve been thinking about this for so long… I knew you’d be so reactive and good for me.”
She grips into Nancy’s fancy tip a bit too tight, worried her nails will cause a run in the fabric but also wishing they were closer… naked… and in her bedroom… “please, please, Nancy?”
“Please what, baby girl? Hm? Use your words,” her breath is hot against Y/N’s neck, turning her on even more. Nancy pulls back and smiles at her, “say it.”
“I want you to fuck me,” she says in a volume just above a whisper, staring back into Nancy’s eyes and then down to her lips. “With your fingers… please?”
Nancy groans, “oh, I never thought I’d hear such filthy words come out of your pretty mouth.”
She pulls up Y/N’s skirt even more, balling it up and making her hold it herself, displaying her pretty pink panties with a dark wet patch forming… Nancy runs her middle finger over it with a smirk, lightly teasing her at first before she presses her middle finger in and rubs Y/N’s clit over her panties.
Y/N tosses her head back, hitting the wooden bookshelf a bit too hard but she doesn’t give a fuck, “oh my god Nancy, right there.”
“Can I go inside, baby?” She asks, making her beg again.
“Please, please? I need you,” she sounds so desperate, and Nancy revels in it.
Nancy slips her fingers under the fabric and glides her middle finger along her slit, pressing in and rubbing at her clit almost immediately. In soft little circles just to get the feel of things, to guide her into it… Nancy watches as Y/N leans her head back against the bookshelf with a groan, eyes wires shut and mouth agape, trying to be quiet but it felt too fucking good.
“You like that, don’t you, sweet girl?” Nancy coos, rubbing her clit a little more with the pads of her fingers, gathering up all her slick as she does so, making the most delicious noises. “You’re so fucking wet for me…”
Y/N whimpers, legs trembling as she tries to remain upright, “c-can you… can you—
“Say it, baby,” Nancy teases, toying with her. “Use your words, I know you can do it…”
She looks right at Nancy, fucked out and making the sweetest eye contact with the softest face, “c-can we kiss?” She asks, bottom lip sticking out in a pout.
“one condition,” Nancy stops all her movements and presses her chest against Y/N’s, staring at her softly she explains, “I promised Robin you wouldn’t leave this in love with me.”
She shakes her head, “I won’t… I-I know this is just sex, it’s supposed to be a fun thing you can do with friends… right?”
“That’s right, princess,” Nancy gives her such a proud smile, “you’ve gotta know the boys wanna fuck you too… but I’m so fucking blessed you let me in before them.”
“technically you’re not in, you’re just in the general vicinity,” she teases, grinding her hips down against Nancy’s hand, playfully.
“That what you want?” Nancy whispers, ghosting her lips along Y/N’s jaw on her way over to her ear, all while two fingers slip inside. Y/N whimpers again, melting in her touch. “Not so funny now, are you?”
“Fuck me, please?” She begs, gripping onto Nancy’s back like her life depended on it, hiking one leg up to wrap around her and give her better access to her cunt.
Nancy’s free hand grips Y/N’s thigh, feeling up to her ass and having a good squeeze, spreading her cheeks a bit and making her moan as she fucked her harder, “wish we were in my bed,” Y/N says aloud this time. “Wanna, fuck, wanna be naked with you…”
“That so?” Nancy kisses her cheek, breathing heavily against her, both in excitement and from the workout, she was getting on her arm, finger fucking Y/N with a passion. “Wanna invite Robin too?”
She whimpers again, nodding ever so pathetically, “please… she’s so soft, not, holy fuck, not like this…”
“She loves you, that’s why,” Nancy teases. “I think you’re fun, pretty as fuck, don’t get me wrong, but you’re a plaything… I’m just lucky she shared you with me. Maybe we should share you together, sometime…”
“Please, please, mommy,” she whines, louder than she wanted to be, neither of them cared anymore. The sounds her pussy was making were obscene enough, the moans were just a bonus.
Nancy’s on fire with power, smirking like the devil as she curls her fingers and aligns her palm with Y/N’s clit, making it feel even better. She remembers the last time Y/N begged and how she hasn’t kissed her yet… she’s so pretty, so fucking blissed out on her fingers as her head leans back against the bookshelf.
Nancy runs her tongue along her throat, bringing her back to focus, still smiling, “close, pretty girl?”
She nods like her head is on a spring, drunk with pleasure, she can barely speak, she just moans. “You can, but…” Nancy kisses the side of her mouth, using her free hand now to cup her cheek and hold her in place, “I’m gonna kiss you and you’re going to moan into my mouth so the librarians don’t know you’re a whore, kay?”
She nods again and Nancy slows down her movements, “what was that?”
“Yes,” she whispers, but Nancy stops completely. Triggering her to bring back Nancy’s new title, “Yes mommy, sorry mommy, I wanna cum so bad.”
“Fuck, you’re so good for me,” Nancy groans, picking up the pace again and fucking her with a passion. Her panties are soaked, Nancy’s hand is wet up to her wrist and she’s pretty sure her fingers are all pruned on that hand, but it’s so fucking worth it.
Nancy, still holding her face, caresses her cheek with her thumb. Y/N’s mouth still hung open, breathing heavily and moaning lightly, Nancy slips her tongue right in there. Making out with her which gives Y/N permission to cum anytime now, and she’s so close. She grinds against Nancy’s motions, sucking on her tongue, feeling her tits pressed up against her chest… it’s all so much that her thighs start to tremble and that delicious heat she chases alone most nights starts to spread through her.
She does get louder, Nancy was right, making out would mask it, but not by much. She cums so hard she feels like she might fall over, but Nancy is there to catch her so it's fine, she just lets go.
It feels like it lasts forever, and even when it’s over, Nancy doesn’t pull out right away, she simply kisses down Y/N’s neck and whispers sweet encouragements. That’s my girl, so pretty on my fingers, you did so well for me, baby…
Y/N’s barely able to stand on her own two feet, Nancy knows that, so she pulls her fingers out slowly and carefully and helps the two of them down to the carpeted floor. She sits down and Y/N slumps onto her almost immediately, resting her face on Nancy’s shoulder, like she wants a hug, but Nancy only had one clean hand, she couldn’t hold her properly.
“hold on,” Nancy pushes her back and pulls some tissues out of her pockets, ever the planner, she knew this was going to happen. She cleans her hand off and opens her arms again, letting her flop right back.
She holds her softly this time, soothing her hands down her back, “how do you feel?”
“Dreading having to go back up to work…”
Nancy laughs, “I’m doing research all afternoon, you can sit with me, you don’t have to do anything but I’ll tell them you did?”
“Okay,” she agrees with a sigh. “Can I have just a few more minutes?” She holds her tighter, not ready to let go.
Nancy smiles, “of course, sweet girl. You can have as long as you want.”

Robin arrived earlier than everyone else, Steve was still hanging up some of the decorations. She crept quietly inside making him jump when he climbed down the ladder.
“Rob! Thanks for not making yourself know” he almost screamed in fright as she stood there grinning at him.
Laughing she threw her arms around him, smelling a strong scent of male aftershave which made her cough violently.
“Jesus Steve, I know all the girls will know you’re arriving” she covered her mouth still laughing at him.
Taking in her surroundings as she looked at the decorations scattered across the room. Impressed with him, she wandered into his kitchen where bowls of punch and snacks were placed perfectly on the counter.
The white marble shone in the glimmer of the lights, she buried her hand into one of the bowls. Steve shouted at her as he caught her eating some of the snacks, giggling as she threw some of them at him.
He rolled his eyes and left the door, she walked the rest of the house. Nosily, she walked upstairs and peered her head around the door of Steve’s room. He had decorated it with more Halloween decorations, chuckling to herself she wondered back downstairs.
She knew that he would do anything to get laid, he had been talking to her about it all week. The touches to his bedroom made her roll her eyes, as she saw him in the living room.
“I saw your cute little decorations in your bedroom” she smirked, he was standing on a ladder hanging decorations between the door frames.
“Oh you saw them?” He blushes slightly at the idea of her seeing the “sex den” as Robin called it all themed.
“Yeah, it looks good,” she smiled, helping him hang the tape.
Once they had finished decorating the entire house, they sat on the couch with a couple of beers in their hands. Staring aimlessly at the television in front of them, the party was due to start in a few hours. Steve had not changed yet, making Robin feel slightly embarrassed that she was fully dressed in her costume.
━━━━━━━☆☆━━━━━━━
Nancy had finished touching up her outfit, staring in the mirror at her appearance. She sighed, feeling nervous as the time got closer and closer to the party. She had fake blood covering her black mini dress, fake blood dripping from her mouth that coated her collarbones and neck. Faint drops glinted against her exposed breasts, her accessories included, a fake blood stained bag and knife.
Her and Steve had been on edge for a few weeks, he had been talking about this girl “Robin” non-stop making her paranoid that he’d leave her.
She knew that Robin would be at this party, as she began eating some cold leftovers out the fridge. Her mind visioned an idea of Robin, someone who constantly flirts with Steve, battering her eyelashes. Laughing overtly at every joke, over touchy with him.
Her jealousy and paranoia were bubbling over as she made her way over to Steve’s. The time was 8 o clock, the party was only just getting started as she opened his front door. Her body shaking with nerves, the music was loud as she walked through the house. Passing a few people from school, raising her eyebrows and awkwardly smiling at them as she searched for Steve.
He was standing next to the fireplace holding a red plastic cup filled with alcohol. A brunette girl was sitting down on the couch, and a few other people were sitting next to her. Nancy couldn’t see who it was from the distance, as she walked closer. Steve’s eyes lit up as he saw her, rushing over to her and throwing his arms around her. Kissing her head as they walked over to the group he was just standing with.
“Robin! I want you to meet Nancy” he said loudly down her ear, Robin’s head turned to face her.
The music stopped as their eyes met. Robin was nothing like Nancy had imagined, she was wearing a comical outfit and not a slutty one. Her words were broken up as they shook hands, a simple touch sent sparks up Nancy’s arm. Unable to think of anything else other than Robin’s eyes staring at her, she blushed and looked at Steve. Hoping he hasn’t seen her react that way.
The party went into full swing at about 10pm, Steve was on his 4th drink. Nancy had made her way into the kitchen, clutching her empty plastic red cup when she felt herself bump into someone. It was Robin.
Stuttering and blushing, her eyes met hers.
“Uh- sorry. I hope that I didn’t spill anything down you”
“Oh you’re fine doll” Robin smiled at her, her head tilting towards the drinks table.
Nancy followed her, they stood side by side. Their shoulders touching as Robin poured the same amount of alcohol into Nancy’s cup, raising it up to hers.
“Cheers” she winked and down her drink before pouring another one for herself.
Nancy looked in shock as she watched her, nervous as she copied her. Winching as the alcohol touched the back of her throat, Robin had not included mixers. Laughing at her, she raised her eyebrows as she began pouring more alcohol into  her cup. Grimacing Nancy nodded and hit her glass together with Robin’s, they made eye contact as they downed their drinks together.
After Robin refilled her cup, she left Nancy in the kitchen. Winking at her before she left, smirking as she saw her cheeks flush red.
Nancy re-entered the living, to see Steve talking to a group of boys. Her eyes found their way to Robin who was hiding in the corner with a blonde haired girl, she stood watching as they kissed. Robin turned around, meeting her eyes and winked at her. Nancy froze as Robin made her way towards her.
“See something you liked?” Robin was smirking at her, whispering as she hovered over her in the doorway.
When in fact, Nancy had never seen two girls interact so intimately in a public place before. It was intriguing. Wondering what it felt like to kiss a girl.
Enjoying as Nancy squirmed in front of her, looking down at her feet trying to avoid her gaze. Robin placed her fingers on her chin and lifted her head up to meet her gaze, Nancy felt herself melt right there.
She moved past Nancy, their bodies touching for a few moments before she disappeared into the kitchen. Nancy relaxed and looked around for Steve who was hanging off Tommy Hagan. Rolling her eyes, she wandered over to the group. They cheered at the sight of her, Steve drunkenly cheered as she took him off Tommy.
''You're so pretty'' he drooled over himself as his weight dropped completely onto Nancy's right shoulder.
Struggling as she dragged him into the room, Robin rushed over and took the extra weight on her own shoulder. Their eyes met, Robin softly smiled at her making Nancy blush.
They let him fall onto the chair, he laughed at the movement. Robin was standing behind the chair, watching Nancy peered down with a glass of water forcing him to drink. Her eyes caught Robin's, they gazed into each other's eyes until Steve grunted and thrusted the glass into her hand.
''I think I should take him to bed'' she sighed, staring down at the drunk Steve.
''Well, you can't carry him all by yourself, doll, I'll help you'' Robin looked at Steve before resting her eyes on Nancy.
''Thank you'' Nancy grunted as she lifted Steve off the chair, his weight once again felt heavy on her shoulder. It faded lightly when Robin shifted his weight onto her shoulder.
They walked up to him upstairs together, their arms touching with every movement. Nancy's breath was hitched at the touch, worry was filling up her body as they reached the top of the stairs.
Pushing his door open, they both grunted as they staggered across to his bed. Taking off his shoes before propping his head up against the pillow, Nancy unbuttoned his trousers and kissed the top of his head.
''Night Steve'' she whispered into his ear, Robin was hanging by the door as she made her way towards her.
Their bodies close as her attention moved off Steve, Nancy could feel Robin's breath against hers as she stood over her, gazing at her.
''Shall we get another drink dollface?'' Robin suggestively spoke, Nancy looked up at her and nodded.
━━━━━━━☆☆━━━━━━━
Leading the way, they left Steve to sleep before heading back downstairs.
After answering everyone's questions about Steve, they made it into the kitchen. Most of the people had gone to sit outside, in the living room or gone home. Leaving them alone in the room, Robin poured a couple of shots for them before and bought them both over. Smirking as Nancy's face looked shocked at the sight of them, raising her glass in time with Robin. Their eye contact only breaking as Nancy closed her eyes to take the shot, exclaiming loudly at the taste. She laughed, her eyes tightly shut and her tongue extended out before taking her second shot and repeating the process.
Robin was mesmerized by her. Fondly watching her as she poured drinks for them both, staggering towards her extending the cup out with a tipsy smile.
They continued to drink for a while, in the dark kitchen. Before Robin dragged her away from the noisy music, pulling her by her arm into the bathroom. Sitting on the floor with their feet touching, they began to ramble.
Between sips Nancy felt herself relax in Robin’s presence, the music changed many times as they chatted. Subtly flirting with her, Robin crawled across the floor towards her.
‘’You know what would be fun?’’ her voice was filled with excitement and thrill as their eyes met. She continued to crawl towards Nancy, resting her back against the wall, their shoulders touching.
‘’ I have no idea’’ Nancy giggled as she looked at her, her eyes were half open as the alcohol hit her.
‘’We have a bath, imagine how relaxing it would be’’ Robin closed her eyes, picturing a hot warm bubbly bath. Humming softly as she did.
‘’Ooo a bath’’ Nancy joined in, imagining a bath.
Both girls instantly jumped up, giggling drunkenly together. Robin bent over the tub and began running the water. Captivated by the water, they watched as it filled up the tub as it reached half way full Robin turned to Nancy.
''You watch the bath, make it all bubbly and shit and I'll grab a bottle from downstairs'' she questioned to Nancy, whose head was staring at her reflection in the water.
Robin didn’t wait for her answer, fueled by excitement and drunkenness. She rushed downstairs, the crowds of people had died down from earlier with people were sprawled across the furniture, small groups were leaving and a couple of people were sat outside in the dark.
Ignoring them, she strode into the kitchen. Eyeing up the last of the alcohol on the table, picking up a bottle of tequila and the remainder of the vodka. The bowls of snacks had been demolished, Robin shook her head in amusement. Knowing that she lost another bet against Steve.
Clutching the bottles tightly she made her way upstairs, music played quietly over the speakers as she entered the bathroom. The bottles almost fell as her attention turned to Nancy, who was running her hand through the bubbly water. She had changed out of her costume and into her underwear, causing Robin to gasp.
Giggling Nancy looked at her, blowing bubbles in her direction. Robin gulped as she opened the bottle of tequila, taking a swig as she stared at Nancy. The sight of her made her weak.
Sliding the bottles on the floor as her back hit the side of the tub next to her. Nancy was still giggling and playing with the bubbles as she took the bottle of tequila off the floor. Taking a big swig, letting out a exasperated sigh as she passed the bottle back to Robin.
They continued to drink both of the bottles, giggling and spraying water over each other playfully. Nancy decided to get into the water, Robin respectfully looked away as she stripped and her body was hidden amongst the bubbles. Nancy focused on the warm water surrounding as Robin joined her, letting the bottles sit either side of them.
Their eyes met, Robin giggled nervously as their bodies touched. Nancy was no longer feeling nervous, she was ignoring her mind as she leant closer to Robin reaching down out of the tub. Bringing the leftover vodka bottle into the water with them, her eyes not leaving Robin as she lifted the bottle to her mouth.
Robin’s eyes widened as Nancy’s boob was exposed, instantly hardened as it reacted with the air. A soft gasp escaped her mouth as Nancy leaned forward shoving the bottle into her hands, the ends of her hair was damp from the water.
She gulped down a big portion of the vodka before smiling drunkenly at Nancy. Passing the bottle between them both until the contents of it was gone. Giggling an shrugging together, Nancy dropped the bottle loudly onto the floor and reached over to pick up the tequila.
Nancy moved uncomfortably in the tub, Robin stared at her as she took a swig of the tequila. Laughing at her reaction to the taste, Nancy stuck her tongue out playfully before passing the bottle to Robin who drank a similar amount.
“You comfortable there?” Robin suggestively asked, her eyes were filled with lust as she placed the bottle down.
Nancy shook her head, her bottom lip stuck out as her arms tightened around her chest. Robin thought she looked cute as she pouted and bit her lip.
“Come here” she whispered, her eyes focusing on Nancy’s body which glimmered between the bubbles.
Watching as her eyes widened before softening, listening to Robin’s words. The alcohol was clearly affecting them both as she felt herself moving closer and closer to Robin. Hesitating to move any closer, Robin’s arms were submerged underneath the warm water and pulled Nancy onto her lap.
Looking intently at each other as their lips grazed together, Robin gasped again at the soft touch of Nancy. Her skin was velvety between her fingers, holding her tighter to her chest. Their eyes were close as their lips pressed together, groaning as Nancy’s hands felt her cheeks until they stayed tangled in Robin’s hair. Tugging lightly as Robin moved Nancy’s hips against her wet pussy, the water sloshing with their movements.
Nancy’s eyes rolled back as their clits bumped together, she had not felt anything like this before. She didn’t want Robin to stop as her lips licked her nipples causing her to moan, biting her lips in shock as the lower part of her body moved in the water.
“Oh fuck, don’t stop” Nancy moaned as Robin’s fingernails dug into her hips moving her faster and faster against her clit.
Moaning onto her nipples as her head moved from each boob, her eyes looking up Nancy as she felt her clit swell up. Her eyes widened at Nancy’s pants , her angelic voice rang in her ears as another “oh fuck” slipped through her soft wet lips.
Robin moved her hips faster and faster, the water splashed out of the tub and onto the bath rug. Coating the floor as they got closer and closer to heaven, Nancy’s pants had become louder and more frequent. Her body tilted back towards the opposite wall, her hips were marked red from Robin’s fingernails. Her boobs were red and sore from her lips, light red marks appeared across the skin.
An accidental trail of hickies scattered her left boob, Nancy’s body jolted forward as she gasped loudly. Robin felt her clit swell up as she felt Nancy cum hard, her body continuing to jolt as she rode Robin through to her orgasm.
“Holy fuck” Robin whined loudly at the touch of Nancy, her clit throbbing as she came. Whining through her orgasm, Nancy’s dry lips slammed into hers muffling her moans deeper into her mouth.
Their bodies stayed together, their lips moving together passionately even after they had reached their climaxes. Reaching for the tequila bottle, Nancy took a big swig before passing it to Robin. Who after drinking, nibbled down onto Nancy’s neck making her gasp and squeal at the sensation.

oh boy, this is something else…
///
“You with me, Buckley?”
Robin’s eyes squeezed shut, then opened to meet Nancy’s curious gaze.
“I’m always with you, Nance.”
Nancy smiled in that cute little way Robin loves, her eyes dropping bashfully, biting her lip to prevent a full-blown grin.
Robin grabbed Nancy’s hand and brought it to her lips, kissing it with reverence.
Always and forever. Robin cradled Nancy’s hand on her chest.
Nancy looked up towards the sky, and from where they were lying on the grass in the clearing in the woods, Robin felt like she was about to tumble into the night sky, falling forever and ever. An unearthly pull tugged at her stomach, and her view of the world reversed.
Back pressed against the Earth, suddenly she was peering down, down, down, down into the never ending inky darkness of space. The stars sparkled, inviting her to join them, the only thing stopping her being gravity.
She turned her head as Nancy let out a contented sigh and closed her eyes, the moon’s soft light making her look almost ethereal. Scratch that. She was ethereal.
Robin’s heart beat furiously against her ribcage, threatening to erupt out of her body just to get any closer to Nancy, to pull her down into the stars, tangled together for eternity. She looked so at peace, gorgeous blue eyes closed and her face relaxed.
God, she loves this woman so much.
Robin suppressed a gleeful whimper as the pull in her stomach rolled over and turned into pressure, building up in her chest and filling up to her throat, growing bigger and bigger. Tears pricked her eyes as a full-bodied feeling took over, one she knew all too well. Her cheeks strained as she smiled full force, a trembling laugh building in the back of her throat.
Space never seemed so enticing.
Nancy turned to look at her with a gentle smile and adoration dancing in her eyes.
Robin’s body shook with pure, unfiltered, utterly joyous laughter, left to echo in the galaxy’s endless void. The pressure became insurmountable, ever growing in her chest and lungs, and her laughing breaths couldn’t clear it out fast enough, her heart thumping wildly all the while. She needed to empty it out, let it fall into space like the way gravity prohibited her to do. Small tears streamed down her face.
Nancy pulled her in for a hug, the kind that Robin crumpled into, the one where she felt safe and loved and so, perfectly, small.
Nancy always knew what she was feeling.
Robin babbled into her shoulder. “I love you so much, Nancy. I love you like the sun loves the moon. I need you like winter needs fall. You make me feel everything all at once, so much that it almost hurts.”
She pulled away, trying to regain composure, but instead, Nancy suddenly had her hand on her waist and pulled her back in for a kiss that was as needy as it was languid. Bodies pressed together, pulling pushing like the tides.
Nancy said I love you too as she tried to bring Robin impossibly closer.
She said I’m never leaving you as she opened her mouth and deepened the kiss.
She said I feel everything too as her hands came up to the back of Robin’s head and dug into the roots of her hair.
Robin whined into the kiss, every inch of her prickling, burning, searing hot with emotion. The pressure within her imploded into a crackling electricity that winded its way around Robin’s spine and down to her toes. A supernova of blinding energy. The feeling washed over her in waves as Nancy pushed even harder into the kiss.
And then everything reversed back again to normal and the pressure, the heat, the electricity was sapped from her. Nancy was her space, her void, she could fall into it forever, endlessly floating on and on, serene and calm.
Robin’s body was left peacefully quiet.
They pulled apart, gasping for breath.
Robin closed her eyes and took a deep breath as Nancy moved to lie down on top of her, the two of them smiling, love-struck and far beyond smitten.
Nancy tucked her head under Robin’s chin, her face nestled against Robin’s chest.
I love you, I love you, I love you.
Robin shakily exhaled, the internal pressure replaced with a pleasant, external weight, and her hands came up to tangle with Nancy’s hair.
I know, I know, I know. I love you too.
She was drifting, drifting, drifting, forever and ever…

Just a friendly reminder that Robin Buckley canonically played soccer. We find this out in the finale episode of season 3, when el has an injured leg due to the slimy thing needing to be taken out, and Robin goes on her ramble about a girl on her soccer team who broke her leg badly. We don’t know much, what age, how long, or how good she was, but we do know that she did. And that’s good enough for me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I friendly request that anyone who knows about soccer and is a fan-fic writer please write a ronance fanfic including this. Please and thank you <3 if you actually do dm me or tag me or comment, reblog, idc I just wanna read.
