Marauders/HP fans - how do you feel about seeing some of the less common Marauders/HP names in other media? For example, I love the names Sirius and Regulus, but it feels weird to even consider using it for a character in an original work when I associate it so strongly with this fandom.

ok someone please explain to me HOW there aren't tons of marauder edits and fics with Hey Remus by The Whomping Willows. I just don't get it, there's no explanation, we've failed as a fandom.

i wish there were more harry & sirius fics that didn’t feature wolfstar, or sirius/anyone really.

i’m not a huge fan of any of the ships sirius is usually involved in, but in my opinion—sirius is simply too…broken to even THINK about having a romantic relationship. he’s on the run from the Ministry, he’s just escaped after 12 years of literal hell on earth—only to be trapped in the house of his traumatic childhood; not to mention he has to deal with the fact that the entire Order and one of his close friends wholeheartedly believed he was a mass murderer and that he would really betray james.

oh, also—it was his idea to switch secret keepers. something totally non consequential that would have nooooo effect on him in the presence of magical creatures designed to dredge up your worst memories and torment you with them xD

at this point, harry really is his only purpose in life. and he can’t even focus on THAT properly because of how absolutely miserable he is.

sirius black is such an interesting character, and part of the appeal to me is just how doomed by the narrative he is. for all intents and purposes, sirius also died on that terrible night in 1981. he has no prospects, his entire life was stolen from him, and he can’t even fulfill the one purpose he has anymore because he was so intensely fucked over twelve years ago. his entire life, his escape AND his death…was just…pointless. and that’s so fucking tragic it makes me want to curl up and die. and also read a million fics about the short period of time he DID have with harry.

i just wish there were more fics that really dug into this incredible, incredible character, instead of just sticking him into a relationship

no cause i will never forgive dumbledore for letting children get involved in a war. training them up and manipulating them. when you think about it, it wasn’t even that hard for him. james with his strong sense of morality and determination to fight for those who couldn’t, of course he would sign up for the order as soon as it was presented to him. sirius, who came from a family so bad and so hurtful in the things they did he would take any offer at ‘redemption’, to be on the good side of the war to try and get away from the surname that haunts him. and moony, oh my god moony. the boy who knew that because of his condition he’d be excluded, looked down upon, denied work, rights, existence even!! that as soon as he was invited to an organisation, asked to be apart of something, of course he wanted in. because they were taking him? even though he was a werewolf? i will never forgive dumbledore. never.

The urge to steal chocolate from one of your mutuals

Sirius sat on the floor of his cell, his knees close to his chest and his arms wrapped around himself. His hair was limp and his skin was pale and shallow, he looked like a shell of the man he once was.

The dementors mostly left him alone, despite being locked up for 11 years, Sirius still had something bright about his aura. It was mostly credited to the memories he used to surround himself, wrapped around him like a blanket.

Sirius had a penchant for singing songs softly to himself, the music brought him comfort and confidence. Each song that was on rotation had a special memory attached to it, and they helped him remember and stay grounded.

Dancing Queen by ABBA always reminded him of his 17th birthday, just a few short years before everything went to shit. They had a party, and the marauders (sans Sirius) had stood up on a table and performed the song while drunk on cheap alcohol.

Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy by Queen reminded him of dancing in the dorm with James. The pair of them twirling around, singing into combs and laughing at each other.

Moonage Daydream by David Bowie had always been associated with Remus, for obvious reasons. It always brought back memories of the smell of chocolate, the scratchy feeling of sweaters, the taste of tea.

Sirius was alone in Azkaban, but only in the traditional sense. He still had his memories to bring him warmth, and sometimes he could close his eyes and pretend that the cool breeze was a hug from beyond the grave.

i must say, one of my favorite things about the demons possessing my mind to create headcannons is that overtime these posts add up

and like randomly i’ll get a notification that someone liked a post from a year ago and i’ll get to remember that little idea

or i’ll have someone who likes quite a few of my headcannons and i wonder if maybe they’re new to this marauders community, if maybe these headcannon’s are a sort of greeting for them to all this insanity

i mean it’s weird that these little posts make me think about my place in the community and my place in the world in general, but they do
