HD'S K-POP BOOKCLUB: Read The Album March 2024: Book 1 & Song 1 Korean Vocabulary Study Lists! (K-pop artists in focus: Aespa)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had so much fun reading the book for this song in the album! Plus I absolutely love this song! Aespa what a bop you have created!
For the vocabulary for the song I used dictionary form verbs so that they would be easier to study and use with other grammar forms
For the book vocabulary I thought of the themes expressed in the book and translated them into korean using an online Korean dictionary.
I hope this helps with your Korean studies and hopefully you enjoy reading DallerGut Dream Department Store!
(If you would like to see what album I read this for and what other books I read for this album, please feel free to check out my previous post!)
Happy Studying Everyone! X

번역하는 한국어 이야기 (연습) #2
Tumblr media
📄제가 영어 번역:
House Cleaning
Today is Saturday. In the morning, my father went to work and my mother went out for the day. I didn't have any lectures or plans with my friends, so I just decided to stay home.
I planned to do some house cleaning. First, I scrubbed the floors with a rag and cleaned the furniture in the room, the television and the stereo. I also dusted the windows and ceilings.
After cleaning, the house's atmosphere was very different. The room was clean and a sparkly shine came from the kitchen, bathroom, and windows.
Since the inside of the house was clean, I felt super refreshed. After house cleaning, I decided to do the overdue laundry. I like using the washing machine more rather than doing laundry by hand. Of course, if you do it by hand it is more tiring. However, rinsing the laundry and disposing of the water feels very satisfying. This kind of feeling is why I still do the laundry by hand.

한국어 일기 | 21.02.24
.
.
안녕 여러분은✨
It’s been a while hahaha
Oh Wonder 알아요? 저는 정말 좋아해요.
.
.
I think I have definitely improved by now but I still need a study partner that can help with Korean. It’s so hard to find someone on hello talk because you get ghosted very easily hahah I‘m struggling

Irregular conjugations in Korean! Specifically, these are about irregularities in the way the sounds change or contract when conjugated. There's a good amount of verbs and adjectives whose base forms will conjugate irregularly in at least one or two forms. Also, remember that these slides are very short and thus are a bit simplified!
There are also irregular words that conjugate in a unique way, but this post is just about the irregular spelling changes in conjugations.
Note: 어떻다 is a bit hard to translate smoothly into English, so if the definition provided is throwing you off it may be helpful to think of a phrase like "어떻게되세요?" which comes from the same "how"
Important question for people who like this post: Do you need the smaller, plain font letters and names of the letters beside the more stylized font? Or is the stylized font easy to read on its own?
Also give me feedback on my font choices in general! I'm trying to find a good Korean font that isn't too plain but isn't too heavily stylized such that it's hard to read, so if anyone has suggestions feel free to offer them!
A transcription of every slide is in the alt text for the images!
(Also let me know if there are any issues with the alt text!)
