more insight on miles’ puerto rican heritage for your fics or fanart
- traditional quinceañeras (or as they are often called by puerto ricans quinceañeros) are really not that common anymore, most girls nowadays have pool parties or go on a cruise. if miles were to go to one of his cousins’ 15 birthday party, chances are it would be casual— no big poofy dress (his mom probably had one like that though)
edit: some people disagree on this. depends on how traditional your family and friend group is I guess, as well as which part of the island you’re from. on average, it seems to be a far bigger deal amongst some other latines. in my class in pr only 3 out of approx 30 girls had a big event like that. not a single one of my cousins had a traditional quince either so you could say I’m partly biased bc of my own experiences. i personally just had a big pool party
- plantains are a big part of our diet. also, pr being an island in the caribbean, coconut is in a lot of our desserts. if miles had to pick a favorite fruit I hc he’d pick either one of the two lol also please google our food, our food isn’t actually spicy so much as savory
- we “celebrate” thanksgiving like other americans. it’s about the only time we eat oven roasted turkey. for winter holidays (christmas eve/day, new years eve/day, three kings day/eve) oven roasted pork. chicken might be offered as a second option for people who don’t consume pork for whatever reason
- you’re pretty much taught how to dance as soon as you can walk. most of us have basic rhythms down. chances of miles dancing with his mom or friends at parties? astronomically high.
- the reason why our flag is everywhere, besides pride, is ‘cause it was illegal to own it. look up the gag law that prohibited us from even displaying it at our homes. so it’s actually an awesome detail in these movies
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- this is my opinion/a fun fact but I feel like miles is basically an homage to black and puerto rican (specifically nuyorican) solidarity around the 70s-80s during the creation of hip-hop and rise of graffiti as a form of expression (you can easily read up on this or watch shows like the get down to learn more about this if you’re curious)
- whether you’re “nuyorican” or “from the island” spanglish is common so miles’ mixing english and spanish isn’t odd bc even rio does this as miles points out in the party scene. he isn’t a “no sabo” kid so much as someone with a strong accent. he understands his mom perfectly
- race ≠ ethnicity. there are plenty of black people in and from Puerto Rico, and miles’ pr family in the spiderverse films are designed to be for the most part afro-latine. so I wouldn’t really call him biracial
- the puerto rican day parade wouldn’t be a thing he skips, he’s gifted a special suit for it in a comic run. his puerto rican heritage is important to him!

Birthdays in hell
Satan: Would probably take mc barhopping all across gehenna. But I also think Ppyong would invite his entire family to celebrate. Poor mc would be swarmed by redlumps wishing them well. Even jjyu would hold his tongue, just a little though. I also think Belial would give me a little statue of jjyu like his artifact or a record he thinks they'd like. Zagan would give a special talisman he made. Paimon would probably give them a bunch of stickers and bubble gum. Leraye I feel would give them a headless teddy bear. Astaroth we haven't seen much yet but I feel like he'd be good at recommending books. Sitri thought Solomon's birthday was on a different day but he just reasons that he must have misremembered. He makes the most delicious tea for mc. And that's not even accounting for all the well wishes and gifts MC would receive from the citizens.
Mammon: He'd probably throw MC an entire parade in celebration. Anything they'd want he'd get for them. I also feel like he'd offer to make their birthday a national holiday too. Hell, why not make their entire birth month a holiday? After all Mammon owns everything. But if mc says that would be too much, he is willing to downsize to the aforementioned national holiday. Eligos would have a field day teaching MC the ways of being cute. Also bihmet would probably go around asking for money from others saying it's "for Mc's birthday fund".
Leviathan: I feel like mc's birthday would be a quiet and formal affair. This is mainly because they might raise Levi's envy. There is a strict rule where no one can wish mc a "Happy birthday" until Leviathan does it. As for gifts they're mainly piled up in front of MC in the throne room. Although they have to be careful with that as well lest Leviathan become envious of how happy their gift makes Mc. Mc's birthday always sets a new record for how many times leviathan has someone hung in a day. But overall Leviathan is notably happier for the entire day which is more than enough for everyone.
Beelzebub: I always feel like there's a non-zero chance of Beel either coming in half way through the party with his gift for mc, or stealing them away for an impromptu trip. Bael usually tries to set up a formal party but Beel tends to crash it. Beel has also been strictly banned from making food after the incident with dantalion last year. But he always manages to sneak his food in somehow...
As for the other kings I can't really say, but I feel like if mc started crying from happiness Lucifer would be more than happy to help them.
BONUS Minhyeok:
Minhyeok has probably celebrated almost every birthday with MC since their childhood. I feel like he would always save up as much money as he could for mc's birthday. He seemingly always knew what to get them even without mc even asking/hinting what they wanted. Makes a feast for them and might pull a few favors if MC wants to do something special. That man would catch the moon and stars for mc if they asked.

Loki's Silent Sentry (Part 2)
Part 3 / Part 4 / Part 5 (Part 6 in progress)
Pairing: Loki x female reader (y/n)
Summary: You are not just a soldier in Asgard's Royal Army, you are Lieutenant Y/L/N, Prince Loki's personal guard, his sentry and you are not supposed to fall in love with him. If you followed your training properly, you should never have even spoken to him. As a sentry, you are expected to remain silent and invisible as you shadow your appointed member of the royal family or member of the court protectively throughout their daily tasks.
Rumors (that happen to be true) begin to circulate through the palace that you serve the younger prince of Asgard both outside and inside his chambers. There is little you can do once word of your off duty activities spread through every maid, cook, gardener and seamstress in the palace. You soon find even the soldiers in your own company are now questioning how exactly you had come to earn your seemingly quick rise to lieutenant.
As the annual Winter Solstice Ball approaches, you come to the heartbreaking realization that your relationship with Loki must come to an end if you are both to fulfill your duties.
Warnings: Angst, arguing, Thor being an absolute ass, Odin being a terrible father (slut shaming?)
A/N: I'm dedicating the second part of this to my absolutely amazing friend @siconetribal! I wanted to get this out for your birthday but I just missed it, sorry! Also, I hope you like the part that you inspired (I have no doubt you'll be able to figure out what it is). Love you! 💚💚💚
And... I know this was only two parts but I couldn't help myself and now it is three lol, not sorry
Tumblr media
"Have you completely lost your mind!?" the king hollers from the throne. You keep your eyes down, too fearful to look up even if your training didn't require you to kneel when in Odin's presence. You know he isn't speaking to you, not yet at least. For now, his attention seems fixed on his youngest son.
"The whole of the Royal Council, the entirety of the Advisory Council and all of our foreign diplomats were in attendance tonight! Not to mention all of their families. Do you have the slightest idea of the damage you have caused?" he questions Loki.
"What could be the harm in me sharing a dance with-" Loki begins but is quickly cut off.
"A dance? You think this is about you and this..." he gestures to you as if he is searching for the least offensive word he can find, "soldier dancing?" he says with a joyless laugh.
Loki doesn't respond and in that instant you both know what it is that truly has angered the king. It wasn't that the prince used his illusions to create a gown for you or that he danced with you at the center of the ball. Loki had kissed you where all of Asgard's most important citizens could see. He had all but announced to the kingdom that you were his and that would not be allowed.
"It is of no concern to me who you bring to your chambers at night but you must learn that there is no place for this at court," he lectures. He turns towards his oldest son who is standing at the base of the stairs leading to the throne. "That goes for you as well. Every servant in this palace knows you are working your way through the kitchen staff," he says to Thor. "I do not need or want to know what either of you do in your chambers and the people of Asgard should be just as unaware."
You don't disagree with that last part, you don't think it is anyone else's business that you are with Loki but you know now isn't the time to speak up.
He continues, turning his focus back to Loki who is still standing just a few inches from you. "You can not parade your..." again he pauses as if too angry to find the right words to describe you. "Her," he changes his mind and motions to you as if Loki could possibly be unsure who he was referring to. "You can not parade her in front of the whole of Asgard. If you want to keep her as a toy for when you are bored, so be it but this type of behavior in public will not be tolerated especially when you are to be looking for a suitable wife," he says, his anger palpable.
You grind your teeth, focusing on the tiles below you to keep from saying something that could lead to your execution.
"I have found a suitable wife," Loki fires back at his father and you lift your head quickly in shock. "Father, Y/N is-"
Odin cuts his words off with a furious wave of his hand as he rises from the throne. "This soldier is not fit to marry a prince," he declares. "And you will refer to her by her rank while you are in my presence," he reminds Loki of proper protocol.
You take a step backwards as the king begins to walk down the steps of the throne. You lower your eyes again and try to keep from trembling as you feel him come closer.
"This will end now," Odin orders and just as Loki opens his mouth in protest he adds, "Or I will transfer your little toy to the an outpost at the furthest edge of the nine realms."
"You will do no such thing," a calm but stern voice says from behind you.
"And what is your solution?" Odin asks Frigga as she walks into the throne room. "Let them continue this.... this..." he stutters in anger.
"Relationship, is the word I think you are looking for my dear husband," she says as she stands between her youngest son and the king.
"Mother, please-" Loki again tries to make his voice heard but Odin's glare stops his words from forming.
"I think I have a solution to our problem," the queen says and you lift your head slightly. She looks at you and flashes the faintest smile, it eases you just for a moment but then her smile fades and so does your hope. You hold your breath as you wait to hear your punishment for loving Loki too publicly as you know they can not punish him.
"I am in need of a new sentry," she says and your heart begins to beat faster. "Lieutenant Y/L/N will be appointed to me starting tomorrow morning. The lieutenant comes from a long line of sentries. Her mother was my sentry many years ago and her grandfather guarded my father when I was a young girl at court. The Y/L/N family has protected and served Asgard for centuries," she informs Odin of your families long and decorated history. If you weren't so terrified, you would be filled with pride that the queen recognizes the years upon years of service your family has given to the kingdom.
"We will not banish one of Asgard's most loyal soldiers because you do not like how your son behaved at the ball. I will speak to him privately about his behavior and make it clear that this is not to happen again," she gives Loki a look that sends a chill down your spine. You know how much the prince loves and respects his mother and there are few feelings worse than knowing you've disappointed someone who believes in you.
Odin remains silent and you know that means the queen has successfully overruled the king. "You are dismissed for the night Lieutenant Y/L/N," she tells you and you stand up at attention. "You will meet me at my chambers at dawn," she orders.
You nod in acknowledgment and bow to each of the royals. The king first as is customary, then the queen who offers you another small smile, the older prince who seems to have already forgotten who you are and finally Loki who looks as if his heart is breaking. You force your features to remain emotionless as you turn to leave the throne room on unsteady legs.
Neither of the two guards standing at the tall double doors make eye contact with you as they move to swing them open. You take a deep breath once you are in the hall and the doors slam shut. You know you should feel relief that you were not sentenced to an eternity in the dungeon or banished to a horrid place like Migard but you find it is still hard to walk. Only days ago you had put in a transfer request in the hopes of being sent away from Loki and now it was being granted by the queen herself. You would no longer be Loki's sentry, or his lover and there was nothing either of you could do.
Tumblr media
You arrive at dawn and greet the two sentries guarding the king and queen's chambers. They nod in return, the shorter one even smiles a little in welcome. It has been a month since the night of the ball and it seems the rumors of Loki's favoritism for you vanished as soon as you were no longer in his service. A few of your fellow soldiers have slowly begun to speak to you again but you don't find any of them nearly as interesting to talk to as Loki.
You groan internally, it is somehow Monday again already. A day filled with the queen's seemingly endless string of long, drawn out meetings. Much like the younger prince, the queen takes the majority of her meetings in her private office, requiring all council members or other officials to come to her if the wished to have a moment of her time. This unfortunately meant you were unlikely to run into Loki unless they had meetings scheduled together which was seldom the case.
A few minutes after your arrival, the heavy wooden door swings open and the queen steps out of her chambers. "Good morning Lieutenant Y/L/N," she greets you kindly as always.
"Good morning your highness," you respond with a slight bow. You take a deep breath as you follow her down the hall knowing those will be the last words you speak until she dismisses you at the end of the day.
Tumblr media
Monday may be your least favorite day of the week but Sunday is by far your favorite and thankfully it is here again. Meetings are a rare occurrence on a Sunday and the queen spends much of her day in the library or her chambers. You don't mind, the halls of the palace are mostly empty so you are able to relax ever so slightly but it is after dinner that you look forward to the most.
You follow her out of the palace, your boots crunching over the newly fallen snow on the path leading to the garden. Queen Frigga wraps her fur shawl tighter around herself but you keep your head up even as an icy breeze sweeps through. You don't want to miss seeing Loki even for a moment. He exits the palace from a set of doors several yards south from the ones you have come from and your body fills with warmth.
He smiles first at his mother then his eyes move past her, to you. Your lips curve into a smile ever so slightly, not enough for his sentry to notice.
"Hello mother," he greets the queen with a hug.
"Loki," she smiles back. "Shall we?" He holds his arm out for her to take and leads her through the wrought iron gates at the entrance to the garden. You and Loki's sentry, a man named Sergeant Tones, stand on either side of the gates at attention.
You take a deep breath, inhaling the chilly air and wonder how Loki never seems to mind this type of weather. You preferred winter or fall over the heat of the summer, mostly because you were always required to wear full armor but Loki wasn't even wearing gloves today. The thought makes you shiver. You close your eyes for a brief moment and try to picture a warm, roaring fire but your mind will only conjure images of the large stone fireplace in Loki's office.
You sigh quietly as your mind begins to wander, thinking of all the times you've spent with him in his office talking about everything and nothing. A smile crosses your lips as you vividly remember the first time the prince spoke to you.
Tumblr media
You scan the hallway leading away from the prince's office, not a person in sight. The only sound you can hear is the pounding of rain and wind against the stone walls of the palace. Occasionally a streak of lightning would light up the window followed by the deafening sound of thunder. You try the trick your mother taught you when you were little to judge the storms distance. If your counting was correct, the storm was going to be directly overhead any second now.
The door next to you opens suddenly and you stand at attention, ready to follow the prince but he doesn't leave his office. You look over your shoulder, confused to see him just standing next to you. He isn't looking at you though, his eyes wander to the window and you wonder what he is thinking.
"I would like to speak with you for a moment," the prince finally says to your utter shock. You can do little more than nod as you follow him into his office. "Close the door," he orders as he walks over to his desk.
You do as your told but you are not sure what else to do. You had never been in his office or spoken to him before. The last three people you guarded never seemed interested in getting to know you and that was perfectly fine with you. Your training required you to be silent and you had grown used to it.
He waves for you to come closer as he takes a seat behind his desk. You stand at attention across from him and he sighs. "Sit," he says and you do. He looks at you curiously as you sit uncomfortably in the leather chair. Your armor was not made be to relaxed in.
After a moment of awkwardly staring at each other he asks, "Can you speak?"
You nod in response and he groans loudly as he sits back heavily in his chair. You stifle a giggle but can't hide the smile that spreads across your lips as you realize how cute the prince looks when he is frustrated. Your smile quickly vanishes, replaced by a furious blush when he catches you.
He leans forward, his arms crossed on his desk, "What's your name?"
"Sergeant Y/L/N," you answer after clearing your throat. It's well past noon but it is the first time you've spoken today.
"What is your first name?" he asks, from his tone you gather that is what he meant the first time.
You reply unsure why he would want to know, "Y/N your highness."
"Y/N," he repeats with a smile that makes you nervous. "No need to look so scared," he says with a laugh. "I simply want to talk. You can speak freely while you are in here with me."
You shift in your seat and tell him, "I'm afraid I don't know what it is you would like me to say."
He leans back again and places his hands behind his head, "Anything... I find I'm quite bored. I have an hour until my next meeting but just for once today, I would like to listen to someone who isn't a councilor or an accountant or Gods help me, my father." He is silent while you ponder his request then he sits up and says, "Why don't you tell me a joke if you can't think of any good topics for conversation?"
"A joke your highness?" you ask, your mind immediately goes blank. Do you even know any jokes, you try to think. The only jokes you've heard recently have been told by other soldiers and none of those should be repeated to a prince. They were either far too dirty or overly political and you were not about to be thrown in the dungeon for mocking the royal family.
He shakes his head at your silence and turns to face the window behind his desk, watching the rain fall steadily.
"Why can't you trust stairs?" you finally ask.
"What?" he asks, turning back to face you.
"Why can't you trust stairs?" you repeat with as much of a straight face as you can. This was one of your favorite jokes when you were a child. You would tell it to anyone who would listen, sometimes more than once.
He shakes his head without spending any time thinking about an answer, "I don't know. Why not?"
"Because they are always up to something," you say with a wide grin.
He stares at you blankly and your pride in your joke falters, your grin fading. A moment later a smile spreads across his lips followed by a short bought of laughter. He shakes his head as he slowly stops laughing and says, "Gods, that truly may be the worst joke I have ever heard."
You nod in agreement then look down at your heavy leather boots wondering if he will let you leave now that you fulfilled his request.
After a moment of silence, he asks, "Do you know any others?"
"A few," you admit with a shrug, "But I assure you, most of them are far worse than that."
He smiles and sits back in his chair comfortably. "I will admit, I have always been fond of terrible puns," he tells you. "Would you like to hear one of my favorites?"
Tumblr media
You are snapped back to the present as Loki and the queen step out of the garden. She is still holding his arm as they walk together. They reach the gate and come to a stop, he hugs his mother and whispers something to her. She nods in response and smiles at him before telling him to have a goodnight.
You fight every urge growing in you to abandon your post and follow him as you once did but you know you never will again. He nods ever so slightly towards you as he walks past and you bow as you've been trained. His guard follows at his heels.
You stand at the edge of the garden and wait for the queen. Instead of walking back inside the palace as she typically would, she stands next to you. She turns so she is facing the sunset and you can't help but turn as well. For a few moments you both stand silently, taking in the changing colors of the sky as the sun sinks from view.
"He misses you," the queen says softly.
You look at her and instantly feel your heart beat faster. This is the closest you've come to having any communication with Loki since the night of the ball. You had gone straight to your quarters after you left the throne room that night, you never even had a chance to say goodbye. You take a deep breath to keep your composure but when your eyes met hers you know she can read you as well as Loki can.
"I will tell him you feel the same," she says with a warm smile.
"Thank you, your highness," you respond. You stand together until the sun has set completely then you follow her back to her chambers where she dismisses you for the night.
Tumblr media
The next week drags by, the days guarding Loki never seemed this long but finally it is Sunday night again. Loki and his mother conclude their walk, hugging briefly just outside of the gates. As he steps away to leave, she stops him by reaching for his arm. She asks him something quietly and he nods in response as he looks towards you. You make eye contact with the prince and he smiles but you can see how sad he truly is, you desperately want to run to him but you stay where you are and try your best to smile back. They say their goodbyes and he heads back towards his chambers with his sentry. You bow as he passes then stand at attention again, waiting for the queen.
She stands beside you and you both turn towards the sunset, taking in its beauty. Just as you begin to wonder if Loki left a message for you again his mother looks over at you.
"He thinks about you all the time," she tells you.
You smile at her words but your heart aches as wish you could hear them from him.
"Is there anything you would like me to tell Loki?" she asks. You nod, there are so many things you want to tell him. "I promise I will tell him whatever you need him to hear," she encourages you to speak, much like her son used to.
"Can you tell him I love him and I miss him deeply?" you ask. You had never admitted to anyone before that you loved Loki but you needed him to know your feelings were as strong as they had always been.
"I will," she says, she rests a comforting hand on your shoulder and you thank her.
Tumblr media
It's warmer today than it has been all week, perfect weather for standing guard at the edge of the garden, you think to yourself. You look up as a small flock of birds fly over head, the sky barely has any clouds.
When the prince and the queen have finished their walk, they hug as usual and you feel your heart beat speed up when he whispers something to her. You have been waiting anxiously all week to hear what message the queen would relay to you from Loki. After he leaves with his sentry, the queen turns back to the garden.
"Walk with me," she says to you and you follow her.
You had walked down every hallway and taken every staircase in the palace but you had never been in the garden. As you pass the wrought iron gates you can't help but look around in wonder. It may still be winter but the garden is in full bloom.
"When Loki was little, I used to bring him here to teach him how to use his magic," she says with a smile as she walks down the stone path. She reaches her hand towards a rose bush full of buds and the flowers open in response as she passes. "He helped me enchant this garden to bloom year round when he was still a child, did you know that?" she asks as she moves further into the garden. You can tell by her tone that she is proud of her son and it makes you smile.
"I did your highness," you tell her. Loki had told you much about his childhood during your time together.
The two of you walk further into the garden until the pond comes into view. You had never seen it of course but Loki had described it perfectly. Two stone benches sit a few feet from the water on the west side while the other is shaded by a large willow tree.
"He told me..." you start but stop yourself when the queen turns to look at you.
"Please, continue," she encourages you.
"He told me the two of you would spend hours by the pond during the summer. He loved watching you turn flowers into frogs or cast fireworks over the water," you tell her, you loved listening to stories of him exploring his magic.
Queen Frigga slows her pace so she is walking next to you and you are immediately reminded of how Loki used to walk with you, not in front of you when you were alone.
"Those are some of my favorite memories with him," she tells you. A few steps later she laughs to herself and you look at her curiously but don't ask what she is thinking about. "I was sitting just over there reading," she points to a wooden bench near a tall oak tree. "Loki was about ten or eleven. He came running into the garden holding a small snake, he looked utterly panicked," she says. "I asked him what was wrong and he tried to hand me the snake but I refused to touch it until he told me it was his brother," she fails to hold back her laughter any longer and you can't help but join in.
"He told me about that!" you tell her excitedly, forgetting you are talking to the queen of Asgard. In this moment, you are simply talking to the mother of the man you love. "Loki said Thor was bothering him, he was just trying to study and he accidentally turn him into a snake but couldn't undo it," you repeat what he had told you.
She smiles and shakes her head as her laughter dies down. "Sometimes I miss those days," she says, her smile fading quickly now as her mood shifts. "When his biggest concern was why his older brother and he couldn't get along," she sighs. "He has not been himself these last few weeks. I worry about him," she admits as she stops walking.
You stop with her and before you say anything in response she says, "I can see how much you worry about him as well."
You nod but remain silent, you feel an ache grow in your chest. All the joy you felt only moments ago is gone.
"I know it must seem unbearable but don't lose hope," she says and you look up at her. "Loki wanted me to tell you that he hasn't stopped looking for a way to be with you again."
You lose your composure momentarily at her words, all you want is to be back in Loki's arms. Hearing he hasn't given up on your relationship is everything you needed, you can't stop the first tear from slipping free. Wiping it away with the back of your hand quickly, you apologize, "I'm sorry your highness. I just..." You pause, afraid to say more. You are not used to losing control of your emotions in general but doing so in front of the queen is unthinkable.
"You have nothing to be sorry for," she says in a motherly tone. She waits patiently for you to continue but you can't seem to find the right words to express how you feel. She touches your shoulder gently and you stand together in silence for a few moments before turning back towards the palace.
Tumblr media
You bow to Loki as he walks past you on his way back towards the palace. He is followed closely by a new sentry, a woman this time. You had only met Corporal Glasgow once before, she was fairly new to your company. You wonder why Loki changed guards and for someone with such little experience. Typically members of the royal family were only guarded by soldiers ranked sergeant or higher.
The queen stays at the entrance to the garden and you wait for her as always. She faces away from you, watching the sunset. A part of you wants to ask her if Loki has a message for you but you stay at your post silently.
"You are dismissed for the night, Lieutenant Y/L/N," she says without taking her eyes off the colorful sky.
You bow even though she is not looking and turn to walk back towards the palace. It's odd that she is letting you leave so early, part of your duty is to ensure the queen's safe return to her chambers but you are not permitted to question her orders so you obey.
As you take your first few steps up the path, your heart sinks at the realization that Loki had no words for you this week. Your pace slows slightly, you are in no rush to return to your quarters for another lonely, miserable night.
"Lieutenant Y/L/N," the queen calls and you turn back to face her. "You might want to take a left at the top of the stairs." She turns back towards the sunset without any explanation as to why.
You pause before continuing on, unsure why she would say that. The soldiers quarters could only be reached if you made a right down the hallway once you reached the top of the stairs. Taking a left would lead you further into the palace, a path you no longer needed to take.
You reach the wooden doors and pull them open, taking a step inside, you look up at the staircase in front of you. You climb the stairs, the only sound is your heavy boots against the marble and the clinking of your armor. You pause only for a moment at the top of the stairs, looking down the hall to your right. You already know what's that way, another night laying in your bed wishing with all your might that you could just have a few more minutes with Loki. You decide that can wait while you figure out what the queen was hinting at.
You turn left and move down the hall, it's lined with windows on the garden side and four tall doors mirroring the windows placement on the opposite side. You had been this way more times than you could count when you were Loki's sentry. It is the longest way back towards the royal chambers. He would always take this route back from his walks with his mother since you were unlikely to pass anyone and he could hold your hand or speak to you without worry.
You never wondered what was in these rooms but now you can't help but be curious. Most of them were unoccupied offices you imagine, they were too far from the main part of the palace for anyone of importance to work here. As you pass the third wooden door you hear it open and turn quickly.
Your heart jumps as you stand face to face with Loki. Without thinking, you wrap your arms tightly around him and he does the same.

Merry-Go-Round of Life (Hunter x Fem!Reader Howl's Moving Castle AU)
Notes: inspired by @jbeansdraws's lovely art of Hunter as Howl, and also just Hunter's voice in general 😍😍😍😍*swoons*
Warnings: Reader gets hit on and is very uncomfortable, but Hunter steps in to help them out. Takes place in a steampunk-fantasy au. Discussions of eating someone's heart but it's only rumors.
Tumblr media
The streets were full for the king’s birthday. Though your little town was quite far from the capital, the people still had a strong sense of patriotism, as evidenced by the number of flags flying overhead. The little steam-powered hovering ships that had taken the country by a storm buzzed by, carrying even more pink and yellow flags like a sail. The soldiers in their smart red-and-blue uniforms paraded past in rows and rows, all sent to the southern border to patrol the wastelands, keeping watch for wizards like the Witch of the Waste and the Heart-Hunter.
You took to the back roads of town to avoid the parade and confetti. The marching band of the parade mixed in a horrible racket with the dance music in town square, and everything was much quieter in the back alleyways, even if you didn’t know them too well.
You glanced down at the scrap of paper with the directions your sister had sent you to the bakery she was working at. You still had to make your wall all the way around to the other side of the square, all while avoiding the crowds of people.
When you glanced up from your directions, you came nose-to chest with a shiny set of brass buckles on a soldier’s uniform coat. Unfortunately, that coat was being worn by a rather tall soldier with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, and a rather sharp bayonet attached to his musket
“Hey, looks like a little mouse lost its way,” The soldier said to his companion.
“Oh no, I’m not lost,” You stammered out a little too quickly, crumpling your paper guide in your fist.
The soldier ignored the distress in your voice, “This little mouse looks thirsty, we should take her for a cup of tea,” He said, as if that were a generous offer rather than a virtual kidnapping.
“No thanks, my sister’s expecting me,” You tugged down on the brim of your hat to hide your face, but the soldiers mustached comrade bent down to get a good look at your face, and you jumped back in surprise.
“She’s pretty cute for a mouse,” The mustached soldier grinned.
“How old are you?”
“You live around here?” They began pestering you with questions and you took a bigger step back this time.
“Leave me alone!” you begged. You never had been one for confidence.
“You see? Your mustache scares all the girls,” The first soldier seemed to enjoy teasing not only you, but also his friend.
“So? She’s even cuter when she’s scared. Your chest twisted. You’d never been called cute before, and this certainly wasn’t a situation where you wanted to hear it.
Then, as soft as a fallen leaf, a hand settled gently on your shoulder.
“There you are sweetheart,” A soft, musical voice said. Unlike the unfamiliar, taunting voices of the soldiers, this one made you stand a bit taller, though you were still a little too frozen to be able to look up at your rescuer.
Was this person your rescuer? He could just be trying to get you away from the soldiers and have you all to himself, but you wouldn’t question his actions now.
“Sorry I’m late,” your rescuer continued gently, “I was looking everywhere for you.” there was a certain longing in his voice that you couldn’t quite understand, but you would figure that out later.
The first soldier’s face contorted into a scowl, “Hey, we’re kinda busy here?”
Your rescuer almost scoffed, “Are you really? It looked to me like the two of you were just leaving.”
He lifted a finger, and you gasped as the men jolted to attention, did an abrupt about-face, and marched down the alleyway where you’d come, protesting the whole way.
Now that you were alone with your rescuer, a wizard, no less, you hesitantly looked up at him.
His hair was long and dark, hiding a pair of sparkling earrings, and framing a face that was half-tattooed with a skull pattern.
The Heart-Hunter.
Your breath froze in your throat, but he offered you a gentle smile, close-lipped so you couldn’t tell if he really had those sharp teeth that the rumors said he did. You were alone now, he could easily rip out your heart and eat it in front of you, but he made no such attempt.
“Don’t hold it against them, they’re really not that bad. Now where to? I’ll be your escort this evening.”
He offered you his arm, and you hesitated. People did this for your sister, not for you. But the Heart-Hunter of the Moving Castle wasn’t like most people, that much was obvious.
“The- the bakery,” you said, still in a bit of shock.
He nodded. When you made no move to take his arm, the Heart-Hunter briefly laced his fingers through yours, tucking them into his elbow.
“Do you have someone who’ll meet you there?”
“My sister.”
“Good.” He took off at a brisk pace, and you had to take two steps for every one he took to keep up.
“Now don’t be alarmed,” he whispered as he took you along, “I’m being followed. Act normal.”
You glanced around the alley, but you couldn’t see anything. The Heart-Hunter started off at a leisurely pace, like a romantic stroll through the park. But you could hear a hissing noise echoing through the alleyway. Not like a feral cat, but more like the steam being released from one of those newfangled engines. You managed to keep up with the Heart-Hunter as buildings began to breeze past you, dark gray blobs dripping out from the walls, resembling more of a gelatinous mix than something sentient, though they did wear little straw hats like the ones you made at your father’s hat shop.
Suddenly, there was a whole swarm of these creatures in front of you, and the Heart-Hunter took you in a sharp left turn as you gripped his arm tightly. You could hear them moving behind you, bumping into each other as their skinny little arms reached for the hem of your skirt. There were more waiting up ahead, but the Heart-Hunter just grinned, and wrapped his arm around your waist.
“Hold on!” You wrapped both arms around his with a second’s warning, and The Heart Hunter leaped into the air with you, leaving all the jelly creatures struggling below.
Now you were floating in the air above all the buildings of the town. You gasped at how far away the ground was, but no one seemed to notice you, too wrapped up in their celebrations.
The Heart-Hunter gently took your hands, slipping his fingers in between your clenched fists to hold your hands.
“Now, straighten your legs, and start walking,” He said, as if he were simply teaching you a new recipe.
You stretched out one of your legs, as he demonstrated himself, taking one step, and then another. You were actually moving forward, even though there was nothing to balance on. You could see the crowds of people in the town square, waltzing to the omph-pah-pah of the band.
Having seen your longing gaze, the Heart-Hunter extended one arm, still holding yours, leading you in a delicate spin.
You laughed in a mix of nervousness and glee, and he chuckled.
“You are a natural,” He promised as you walked across the town square, and you smiled at the compliment. It really sounded like he meant it.
“There! That’s the bakery,” you nodded your head towards the yellow building with black beams criss-crossing across the walls. As you came closer, your altitude lowered, and soon enough, the Heart-Hunter was standing on the railing of the balcony of the bakery’s second floor, lowering you onto solid ground.
You sighed, still feeling a little light-headed. This couldn’t be real. You were going to wake up in your room above the hat shop any moment now, ready to begin another boring day.
The Heart-Hunter squeezed your hand, “I’ll make sure to draw them off, but wait a bit before you head back outside.”
Oh right, the jelly monsters.
“Okay,” you said in a small voice.
The Heart-Hunter grinned at you, “That’s my girl.”
Butterflies swirled in your stomach at the tone in his voice, and the Heart-Hunter leapt backwards off the balcony. When you ran to the edge to see where he’d gone, he had vanished, like the last note of the waltz.
You were still standing there a moment later when your sister burst onto the balcony.
“Sissy! What’s going on?” She grasped your hands, they were colder than hers, “Someone said you just floated down onto our balcony!”
You bit your lip, “So that did happen. It wasn’t a dream,” You said slowly.
Your sister pressed you for answers, and you told her the whole story as her eyes grew wider and her face grew paler.
“So he must have been a wizard then,” She gasped softly.
You frowned, “But he was so kind to me, he rescued me.”
Your sister sighed. Given your differences in social lives, she knew more about the whims and cunnings of men than you did.
“Of course he did! He was trying to steal your heart! You know what the Heart-Hunter does to girls, he could have eaten it!”
“No he wouldn’t. You said firmly, clutching your skirts in your hands, “The Heart-Hunter only does that to beautiful girls.”

i was thinking about your whiteness post, and i wanna add how the idea of whiteness has lead to an almost bastardized and commercialized version of christianity
i don't celebrate christmas as a muslim because it's not my religious holiday to celebrate, but the amount of times people have said "you should still celebrate it! christmas is not religious holiday anymore!" is wild. like, that's your saviour? wdym christmas isn't a religious holiday???
it's not like this with other christian dominions, so i find it insane that the countries that scream about jesus all the time also treats his 'birthday' (there's so much debate on his date of birth) is just another holiday. the same thing for easter and i don't hear a word about lent either.
this probably isn't a new thought, but given that it's been another season of peoples pity because i don't celebrate christmas, its been on my mind.
anywho, i hope you're having a wonderful day!! <333
I 100% agree
I think much like a government, Christianity in the West has been co-opted by white supremacists.
I have a whole theory and special interest about it so let me soap box for a second.
Doing research even on the Bible the last few months and the KJV print is where that becomes obvious to me. Some of the wording changed to make obedience and subservience to the king a virtue. It linked holiness to serving someone other than God or yourself.
And that's not to say it didn't have issues before that or that the KJV is the sole cause (it is one of the most popular versions tho). But rather an observable point in history where we can see the Bible being wielded as a tool to make the masses more easily controlled.
It stopped being about God and spirituality a long time ago.
Further, the guy who translated it for King James is now considered the patriarch of puritanism. And that was caused when the King repudiated papal authority and transformed the Church of Rome into a state Church of England.
Yeah. They literally colonized the church.
See also:
The main difference between the Catholic Church and the Church of England is that Anglicans do not recognize the pope as the head of the Christian faith. Instead, the head of the Church of England is the British monarch.
The puritans who showed up on Turtle Island? Those were the same extremist puritans who didn't want to share church with Catholics that the king didn't want to deal with either. They thought the church being inclusive to Catholics was a religious affront and they wanted more reforms about it.
But then
Under Charles I, Calvinist teachings were undermined and bishops became less tolerant of Puritan views and more willing to enforce the use of controversial ceremonies. New controls were placed on Puritan preaching, and some ministers were suspended or removed from their livings. Increasingly, many Puritans concluded that they had no choice but to emigrate
Every time I hear "Starbucks cups are a christians tradition" I'm reminded of puritans screeching about how being inclusive of Catholics was a personal attack on their rights.
And when I see some megachurch doing this
Or when I hear about how Christianity feels more like a cult people want you to join and less like a peace driven religion about Jesus
Or when people have experiences like yours.
...it feels so obvious that focus of Western Christianity is actually about normalizing political ideas and they lure you into that by going "look how fun our parades are" and "aren't chocolate eggs fun?"
Jesus is a Trojan horse.
It's how you end up with so many "religious" people who'd willingly die for their country but shoot their neighbor. Conversely, it's how you end up with so many non-religious people saying it's not religious at all and bring people together actually.
Because its just parades.
Right?

Please can I request a little blurb with Prince Hal and "touch her and you die" 😻😻😻
Thank you!
Why hello there! Thanks, I got a manicure and went to a bookshop and ate Italian food so it was great! And here is the blurb!
Rain Within Doors (Prince Hal x fem! Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: When the king falls ill, your betrothed, Prince Hal, returns.
Word Count: 1923
Warnings: some sexual harassment but the a-hole is saved in time, I try to keep it close to Shakespeare. Angst and fluff. I stole a line from Game of Thrones because it fit (the Shakespeare histories WERE kind of the Game of Thrones of their time minus the dragons and excessive exploitation of women)

You waited anxiously and eagerly for your dear betrothed. He needed to hurry here. Things had all turned for the worse.
Poor King Henry the Fourth was one minute at a table with all of you The Lord of Westmoreland arrived delivering the news of success in battle against Hotspur’s followers attempting to usurp the king. Everyone gasped. The lords who allied with Henry the Fourth were there- the Lord of Harcourt, Sir John Blunt, and others, all drooped their shoulders in relief. You, the younger two princes Thomas and Humphrey, The Lord of Warwick, and the King all smiled. The king shakily rose to praise Westmoreland
…then suddenly he began wheezing and fainted.
Everyone gasped. Humphrey and Warwick met them on the grounds to give aid to the old king. Little Thomas cried for his father and you put him, your soon-to-be brother-in-law, in a hug, rubbing his back.
“It’s all right, you know these fits happen often,” Warwick assumed, ever the voice of peace.
As the king came to, he was supported up. You were among the party to help settle him into bed. He asked the crown be placed on the pillow next to him with a raspy voice. And for musicians to play in the next room. Everyone complied.
You knew your betrothed had business in London. Even if it was in a bad place, he assured you it was nothing involving anything criminal (or whores) and that he would be back. The second eldest, Thomas, was dealing with the rebels with forces of his own and was on his way back.
“My lord, let me sit with you, so you need not be alone,” you offered, gathering a chair.
You had been sent here to marry the notorious Prince of Wales. Though you were nervous in this new castle, King Henry the Fourth was gentle with you. He welcomed you with a smile and open arms. The man who already considered you a daughter-in-law in his heart and the other princes saw you as a sister. He would let you dine with him and even play a little dice game with the family, smiling at you. Warmth on the face of the aged Bolingbroke- the lord who, long ago,  won the favor of the people so much it broke him out of exile and then thrust him into the role of king unexpectedly. Once Henry Bolingbroke, christened Henry the Fourth, wore shining golden armor as he rode on a horse. Paraded through the city as people threw flower petals at him.
Now how…weak he was! A shell of himself! Hardly the proud golden king anymore!
He reached out for your hand and you accepted it.
“Why-dear lady, I thank you. To think a pearl may be thrown to swine… to think my Harry should of all men be your husband…” he wheezed.
“My lord, you must know- your eldest son has not….treated me poorly.”
You didn’t know him well- the beautiful, fiery, mischievous, wild prince Henry- or Harry as called by his friends or family. Or Hal as those thieves and whores so affectionately called him.
This was to be a marriage for alliance and station, not of affection. When you arrived, you expected a frivolous, drinking, philandering Baccus. But Hal…. he was kind to you. He always smiled at you and called you sweet names. He was rumored to spend time studying in libraries more than drinking. One time, he found a romantic poem, copied it on paper, and gave it to you as a lover’s token. It touched you- who knew how he would fare as king but you felt he would make at least a decent husband!
“Just rest my lord, please,” you asked. The king indeed settled.
You walked out to the hallway to face the others. They peeked in and soon saw his eyes were closed, but he was breathing. The musicians in the next room played such calm, nearly dreamlike melodies compared to the anxiety storming inside of your being.
Soon enough, the king settled into a deep sleep. You smiled a little- poor Henry the Fourth was a notorious insomniac, wandering the castle in the late hours from his racing worries. That should give him some relief and help with his sickness.
But to think…here you were about to watch that old man die. Die before you could officially call him family.
A couple of tears fell, and you walked out to the hallway staring out. It was a cold, bitter day. The winter chill stinging the glass window when you touched it.
But there was a sound- hooves.
When you leaned closer to the window, you let out a gasp.
Hal was here in a long, beautiful black and red cape on a beautiful black horse as if he were about to rescue a damsel. And behind him a couple of others. You covered your mouth but felt a smile on your lips.
Picking up your skirts, you hurried down to the others in the outer hall. Warwick was hushing the two boys from talking too loud, to watch over the king in his sleep.
“Humphrey! Thomas! He’s back!” you whispered.
“Who?” replied Thomas.
They turned and then heard Hal’s voice asking for him. You and the others hurried there.
In the torch-lit hallway, your eyes feasted on Hal. The most beautiful man you had ever seen with the most deliciously fitted black velvet doublet, swooping off his cape with a gallantry that made your insides tingle.
He turned and went to you first.
“How now, My most fair lady?”
“Oh, much worried but cheered by your return, my lord,” you replied.
Hal’s eyes softened at you, then he looked at his crying brothers- Humphrey and Thomas.
“What- all of this rain in of door when it should be out of doors? How is the king?” Hal asked.
“ Exceeding ill” explained Humphrey sadly.
“Please be quiet, His grace is asleep,” warned the Lord of Warwick.
Hal requested to see his father, and the lord of Warwick led him to the bed.
Everyone hushed and walked out to the other room, keeping quiet to give the king as much rest as he needed. Everyone worried. It was all so much- you needed some space.
With your heart calming, you went to one hallway, hugging yourself to look at how the moon shone over the winter evening through the windows.
The Lord Harcourt went up to you. An older man with sharp cheekbones and a sharp chin, a pale face, and dark eyes. You only knew him as an ally and advisor to the king.  As you stood alone, staring out the window.
“Good evening, Lady Y/N.” he greeted.
“Good evening, my lord,” you replied.
“You do look rather lovely tonight in the moonlight,” he complimented.
Already you felt uneasy. Alone with him, when all the others were fretting over the king. You began to take a step to return.
“You…you flatter me, my lord, thank you.”
Right as you turned, the lord reached an arm from his rich, velvet clothes and grabbed you.
“It seems a shame for such a fine lady to be wasted upon riotous Harry. I should have had you for my wife instead.”
“My lord, then wait until the king awakens and discuss it with him and announce you will-will-will court me openly like a gentleman,” you blubbered out, though you were starting to get scared.
He tried to sweetly, seductively brush your cheek but you had enough and swatted it away.
“Oh! The lady is a bit too cold, methinks.”
“And a lady is treated with respect, sir! My lord, please let me go.  I must attend on his majesty.”
“Your drunken oaf of an intended is waiting on him, who is going to stop!”
“But you are a fool! Please, let me leave!”
He backed you up until you were in a corner. Your heart pounded hard.
“Please- my lord, I swear, do not do anything that might insult my honor! I don’t want to-Please!” you cried.
“Then be not so fair and tempt a man to sin! And you have tempted me long enough. The one crown Prince Hal is deserving of is the Cuckhold’s horns.”
“Please, my lord- let me go!” you begged.
To your horror, you felt a thin, clawlike hand reach for your leg under your skirt, then up, trying to lower your bodice to show your breasts. You squirmed, but one arm held you back.
“No, my lady. I want a see what I could be enjoying on our wedding night.”
He placed a hand over your mouth so you couldn’t scream. Tears welled up in you.
With a free hand, though it shook, you slapped him hard.
His hand dropped. He was shocked you were going to fight back. You tried to flee when he grabbed you back, ready to drag you off and force you to strip or do more when-
“Release yourself from the Princess of Wales right now!” threatened your intended.
Hal hurried in and grabbed the lord. He then took out his dagger, pointing it to your attacker’s chest. You jumped off and went behind Hal.
“What- my lord!” the lord was shocked that dishonorable, silly Prince Hal was capable of this. Then he scoffed.
“She is not yet your wife-” he argued.
“She is your princess and soon- your queen!” Hal reminded him.
The Lord of Harcourt pointed to where you stood and backed away behind Hal.
“She’s-she was trying to seduce me! The Lady is nothing but a common strumpet”
Hal punched him in the face. You let out a gasp. The Lord nursed his cheek. But Hal kept his dagger up at him. You heard footsteps and murmurs as the others went into the room. The younger Lancaster brothers staying by you loyally. The lords turned pale and slack-jawed.
“You are not welcome in this court until after our marriage. And then you will have to beg to be let in. And If you ever lay a hand on that sweet lady again, it will be the last time you have hands!” Hal barked at him.
The Lord of Harcourt shook and then relented, bowing his head.
“Now, flee. Before I decide to persuade my father to behead you when he awakes.”
The lord fled into the shadows, a few attendants seeing him out. The others asked after you, but it was Hal who boldly embraced you. It was quite intimate for court protocol, but when had Hal ever done what everyone expected?
“He-He frightened me.” you choked out.
“You need not be frightened, my lady, you’ll be safe. Did he hurt you? Do anything?” Hal questioned.
“He groped my leg, and tried to take my dress off, but no more. You caught him before more could be done. I-I -I promise you, Hal, I never intended to seduce him in any way! Do you believe me?”
Hal clasped your hands in his.
“Why would I not believe my dearest lady?” Hal replied.
Full of emotion, you leaned down and kissed them. Hal’s mouth opened a little and he smiled at you. He cupped your cheek sweetly.
The party returned to wait on the king. You saw Hal was pale, but you kept your hand clasped in his as you walked back.
For as uncertain as this time was, no matter what the next day or hour could bring, you had each other and could endure it side by side.

Kaiju Week in Review (March 17-23, 2024)
Mere days to go before a new Godzilla movie... didn't we just do this?
Tumblr media
Before we welcome that latest entry, let's look back on one that just commemorated its golden anniversary. With Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla turning 50 on March 21, every member of Toho's Big Five has now hit the half-century mark. The company didn't mark the day itself with much; as has become typical, the celebration of Mechagodzilla (and presumably King Caesar) will be spread throughout the year. I wrote a bit about the magnificent machine, who I consider the best Godzilla antagonist, here. The film itself is one of Teruyoshi Nakano's masterpieces, an onslaught of animated rays and gorgeous explosions. The humans are forgettable, but they keep the pace brisk—and the alien commander Mugal is almost as devilish a villain as Mechagodzilla itself, especially in the English dub. Speaking of that dub, you can watch a video breaking down the entire voice cast here, thanks to the tireless work of the Save All Dubs! group.
Tumblr media
Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong #6 finally gets to the good stuff, with Lex Luthor piloting Mechagodzilla and commanding an army of Titans to raze Metropolis while the heroes counter with not one but two giant robots. It doesn't quite measure up to the Godzilla: Rulers of Earth finale, but like that double-sized issue, it required two artists (Christian Duce joined by Tom Derenick) to draw all those characters, and the results are impressive. The story hasn't grown any more complex, but I'm at least interested to see how it all wraps up.
In other Godzilla comic news, a Godziban manga by Sakuju Koizumi has started up, hosted by Telemaga, a tokusatsu-focused Kodansha site. The first installment was pretty short, so I'm guessing these'll be updated weekly. It isn't the first comic version of Godziban, as one called Godziman ran during the 1st Season, but this one's actually illustrated.
youtube
Tokyo's Ikebukuro district made Godzilla the honorary chief of police on March 16 to take part in a parade promoting traffic safety. The stunt made international headlines and generated no small amount of angst over Cop Godzilla. I think Gamera would've been better-suited to this campaign myself.
youtube
Here's the trailer for Season 2 of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again, revealing Gabara, Gigan, and Titanosaurus's designs. Looks as funny as the first one. Maaya Uchida, who sang the ending songs in SSSS.Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon, will voice Chibi Minilla. It's gone weirdly neglected by English Godzilla social media accounts, but X user @MakoMattari translated it.
Tumblr media
The Music Box Theatre in Chicago has a Godzilla program for the ages scheduled for June 7-13, in honor of his 70th birthday. There's not a weak day on the schedule, but the clear highlight is a 24-hour marathon of the entire Showa series on the 8th, which I don't think has ever been attempted before.
G-Fest has also started announcing guests: Ayako Fujitani (Asagi in the Heisei Gamera trilogy) and Rie Ota (Baragon in GMK), both first-timers. Frankly, they could carry the con themselves if they have to; not sure who I'm more excited to meet!

Although the media did not receive confirmation from Kensington Palace, GB News decided Trooping the Colour is Catherine's RETURN to public duties. 🤦‍♂️
Great Comment to GB News: "so will you all shut up now?" 👏

From Forces.net
Princess of Wales to review Trooping the Colour before main event in June, Army says
Despite the announcement by the Army, Kensington Palace has yet to confirm Kate's attendance at the military spectacle.
Only Kensington Palace, Kate's official office, can announce her attendance at a royal event and confirmation is not expected until nearer the time.
Kate is scheduled to take part in the formal review – known as the Colonel's Review – on 8 June, a week before the main Trooping the Colour, inspecting soldiers of the Household Division in her role as Colonel of the Irish Guards.
The Princess of Wales will review the Trooping the Colour in June, according to the Army's official website, making this her first official duty to be announced since she underwent abdominal surgery in mid-January,
The Army's website says the King will be attending the main Trooping ceremony – also known as the Birthday Parade, as it marks the sovereign's official anniversary – with bookings now being taken for a ballot for tickets.
King Charles is receiving treatment for cancer and Kate is recovering from abdominal surgery, but it is understood planning for major royal events continues, with organisers remaining flexible in the event of possible changes.
Kate officially became Colonel of the Irish Guards, a role previously held by her husband the Prince of Wales, last year.
In January, it was announced the Princess of Wales would miss this year's St Patrick's Day military parades in March as she continued her recovery from surgery.
The Trooping the Colour to be reviewed by the Princess of Wales is identical to the Trooping the Colour reviewed by the King, apart from the fact that some additional mounted officers will take part when the King is present.
According to the Army, more than 1,400 soldiers of the Household Division and The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery will be taking part, including 400 musicians from the Massed Bands, with all of them parading on Horse Guards for the second of two formal reviews.
The event will also include 250 soldiers from the Foot Guards who will line the processional route along The Mall.
Members of the public can watch from the stands on Horse Guards Parade by applying for tickets.

wherefore art thou, hook? (prince! hook x reader) [part 1]
Tumblr media
you own a small shop on the east side of the village. the heir to the throne notices you.
gn reader, fairytale au
The Royal Family was a big deal in your home country. Unlike other current "monarchies," the Senerchia's actually had both social and political power. Which is why they were able to make the prince's annual birthday parade a holiday, a birthday parade that had mandatory attendance. Which was annoying.
It's not that you hated the Royal Family. Quite the opposite. Their actions had shown time and time again that they deeply cared for their people. But, the big spectacle? Making every little thing a big scene? You weren't a fan, honestly. But still, you sat outside your small shop and waved as horse-powered floats went by. The prince, Tyler, waved back to you. His eyes softened, and his mouth turned up into a smile as he did so.
As he went by, you couldn't help but think about how your life could've been different if you were him. Or maybe if King Taz had another child, and that child was you. Or by some miracle, in some other parallel universe, Tyler had fallen in love with you at first sight and asked you to marry him.
That stuff only happens in fairytales, though.
At the end of the parade line, you decided to go back in and finish your cleaning. It was a slow day, and not many people needed to order or pick up their baked goods, it seemed.
You spent the next 2 hours sweeping, wiping windows, and cleaning the steps leading up to the door of the shop. The "shop" wasn't really all that much of a shop. You just dedicated the entire first floor of your home to your love of baking. Your room and bathroom were up the stairs inside. You went up those stairs to go change until loud knocks at the door stopped you. You grumbled a bit a turned to go answer the door.
The man at the door was in a Royal Guard's uniform. Uh-oh. What did you do, y/n?
Luckily, he wasn't there to throw you in a dungeon or send you to the gulliotine. He actually gave you an envelope, with your name on it. He watched you open it. The contents of the envelope included an invitation to the prince's birthday party.
Was... an entire parade not enough for him?
And more importantly, why the hell were you invited?
The sound of the guard clearing his throat made you look up.
"So, (Mr./Ms.) y/n, will you be attending?"
"Of course," you responded.
