Upgrade (Sun x Reader 18+)
The smuts a ~tad~ sucky bc I haven’t written in a while lol
A normal day at the Pizzaplex. That's what you thought today was going to be. Of course, nothing goes as planned.
The second you got there, the air felt strange. Clutching your bag around your shoulder, you made the quick walk upstairs, hopping up the steps with your long stride towards the daycare. You had gotten the job a couple of months back in desperate times and your willingness to look after snot-covered children.
It was going alright so far, as ok as a 10-11 hour workday running around with kids and a bipolar robot could be. It was the only job you could get in a short time with fat cash. For a company with its history, at least they pay their workers nicely.
Getting inside the broadly spaced daycare area, you walked down the steps to the abnormally giant door and pushed it open with a heave. You looked around, spotless just as you left it from yesterday. You always got here a little early, after a few incidents with Moon staying active until 6 and destroying the place.. Today was the last day of your 7-day stretch, with 2 days off until you're back on it again. Your back ached from repeatedly having to bend down several times a day, so you really just wanted to get this day done with and lie in your bed for 48 hours.
It was 7:20 by the time you parked your car, so you had around 30 minutes before the kids start coming in. You had begun walking towards the small back room where you usually place your bag when you heard a shuffle from behind you. You rolled your eyes, a small smirk appearing on your lips as you continued walking towards the room.
You placed your hand on the doorknob, twisting it slowly when a pair of large hands came down onto your shoulders. "Boo!" A loud voice shouted from behind. "Did I get you? Did I, did I?" Twisting you around fast, you raised an eyebrow at the assailant.
"Sun, that worked once." You leaned against the door, smirking as his hands fell from your shoulders.
"I know, but it's fun to try!" Normally, you would have rolled your eyes and gone inside the back room. However, today was not the day. Sun's face never moves, well his head does but not his actual face. But today, he talked, his mouth moved.
"..Uh Sun, say something again." You centred your eyes on his not-so-eternal smile, which was what you always called it when trying to explain your work with a robot.
"Like what?" He cocked his head, smile dipping as his tongue touched metal teeth, before resuming its natural position. You blinked.
"So, you got an upgrade in the.." You focused on your fingers as you tried to do basic math. "9 hours I was gone?" It shouldn't be such a big deal, but you have a terrible secret. A nasty one, so nasty it can't even be typed.
He continues smiling at you as he nods excitedly, swaying from his bent knees position. "Yes, yes! I even have a tongue, like you, wanna see? Wanna?" He doesn't wait for you to answer, instead opening his large mouth as a pink tongue slips out.
You stare in awe at the somehow realistic muscle made of what you assumed to be silicone, hell it even looks wet. You want to touch it. Sun watches as you stare, confused. He waves a hand in front of your face, closing his mouth. Damn.
"It's neat right? They thought that kids might like a more 'animated' face, my face! Vanessa installed it last night just as you left." He explained, 'they' meaning corporate.
You nodded, a soft "Uh huh.." dragged from your mouth as you felt your hand behind you against the door. "Well Sun, that's very, very cool but I should.. Go in here." You touched the doorknob, twisting it as you slid your body into the small room. "Uh- wait for me out here!" You quickly say as you shut the door.
"Of course friend!" He starts whistling from outside the door, you recognize it as the tune that plays non-goddamn-stop in the daycare. Taking a little breather, you place your bag down and stare at the wall. Moments from just seconds ago rushed to your head. He has a tongue. A tongue. A super-tall robot that dresses like a jester, who's incredibly annoying and loud, has a tongue.
And you find it hot.
You let out a loud groan, planting your face into your palms as you lean against the door. It wasn't always like this, you knew a time when you only had a taste for flesh- ok that sounds weird. No, you remember a time when you actually liked humans. When you got this job and met Sun, you found him very, very cool.
It had been your first time working with anything so technologically advanced. It fascinated you that he could do just about anything a human staff could, but more. You think you were just hired here to make sure he doesn't malfunction and drop a kid.
It wasn't until 2 months ago you saw him differently. You don't know how to explain it, maybe you were reading too much fanfiction as a horny and lonely young adult but from then on, whenever he came up to you, touched you, even picked you up as this guy knows no social distancing, you tried really hard to fight off your blush.
You stared at him often during your shifts, watching as he played with the kids or got them settled in for naptime. You could call him cute, at times. It wasn't until you started having sex dreams about this goddamn robot that you would call yourself a goner.
You liked to think to yourself that you were friends with the guy, and maybe Moon. You were closer to Sun partly because you saw him the most, Moon not so much.
You huffed, bringing your hands down your face. You grabbed your bag and checked your phone, 7:55. Normally on weekdays, the kids wouldn't actually arrive until 8:30 but today was Sunday which meant about 10 kids in the first 5 minutes of opening.
You sighed, just as you were about to turn and open the door, you felt the knob turn against your back and you were suddenly on the floor. "Ow, what the hell?" You yelped as you fell, thankfully having your hands to catch you and avoid a faceplant.
"Oh! No, no, no, what were you doing so close to the door?" Sun questioned, bending down beside you as his face twirls in front of your own. You grumble and sat up.
"About to leave, that's what." Sun shrugged off your hard exterior and instead offered to help you up, sliding his hands underneath your armpits as he lifted you up. You forced a tiny squeal down your throat and instead let him place you on your feet. Unfortunately for you, he also dusted you off, his soft, silicone hands wiping off imaginary dust from your sides.
"There we go!" Your stomach did rollercoaster flips as his long hands touched your clothed sides. Oh, how you wished they weren't so covered- Oop. Is it just you or did it get like, hellishly hot in here?
"Aha! Well, um, thank you for that. We should probably get out there, don't you think?" You cleared your throat as his fingers slid from your hips, trailing almost agonizing slow as you watched with intent. It wasn't until his head cranked upwards, looking at you with shaded, white iris' and a smile that almost seemed sinister.
You moved away from him, towards the door and out just as a toddler ran through the giant doors. Sun slid beside you once more in seconds, looking down at you with a smile that seemed a bit.. Off? Whatever it was, it was only for a moment before he nodded.
"Yes, yes! Let's go play, come." He gestured for you to follow, and you did with a small smile. Apart from the stupid crush, you liked the weird normalcy of being friends with a robot. You joked and bantered with him, although it was more playful insults on your part and him being completely dense.
You'd call it a solid friendship.
That sounds so sad.
-
It was around 10:30 now but it felt like this had been going on for more than 2 and a half hours. Kids kept piling in, one then five then fourteen then thirty-seven?? Yeah, it got busy on weekends, but there were still more kids coming!
You were in the midst of putting another name into the computer, as each kid got a wrist band that stayed on until they left the Pizzaplex, for security reasons, when you looked to the side. A rampage of kids following after Sun was greeted, a chorus of tiny voices shouting "Tag, you're it!" trailed after the running robot, ducking behind the play structures.
You couldn't help but let out a snort, laughing as you shook your head with a smile, welcoming another kid into the daycare.
2 more hours pass, and it was lunchtime. Both you and Sun gathered the kids from the play structures, ball pits, and the arts&crafts station. Putting them all along the many small, coloured circle tables was, as always, a hassle as the number of kids had gone up to almost 50. You were thankful to Sun since he could handle so many at once, while you had a hard time keeping 10 kids entertained.
Some kids had packed lunches, and some kids had gotten a pizza from the Pizzaplex. Once everyone was situated and eating, you left to get your own lunch. Normally you'd have a good 10 minutes to eat, but seeing the number of kids you guessed a little less than that for today. Scurrying into the backroom, you dug into your bag for the sandwich and veggies you brought.
You had only just begun eating when a loud knock on the door startled you from mindlessly scrolling on your phone. "Mhm!?" It was the only word you could sound out as you had just stuffed your face with the deliciously dry sandwich you brought. You thought it was a kid that saw you come in here, but Sun usually keeps an eye on things when you ate so..
"Helloo!" The sound of bells filled the room as the door opened and closed, Sun standing at full height as he towered over your sitting form. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion as you tried to swallow. Why is he in here? He never comes in here with you.
"Sun, what are you doing in here? Shouldn't you be watching the kids?" You set your sandwich aside and looked up at him. God, he was tall. You still can't get over that. He never stood up fully for long though, as he quickly bent his knees and returned to his normal swaying position.
"Oho no, they're fine. I came to check on you, silly!" He pointed towards you as you stared at his mouth. Flashbacks of earlier came into view, in particular his tongue. How long was it? Why did it look so wet? How would it feel between your legs-
You never would have thought such a simple upgrade would cause you to think like this!
You guessed you were spaced out for a few seconds because you didn't even realize Sun had moved closer towards you, so close that his knees now touched yours as he waved his hand in front of your face. You blinked and looked back at his expressive face. Still weird to get used to.
"Tch- Friend, this is why you need to be checked! You keep spacing out, for what? Do you need medical treatment?" You were about to argue but in a second you found yourself surrounded by blue light, scanned.
"Sun, there's nothing wrong with me.. Physically." Liar. You were so pent up and horny- "I think it's because I'm really tired. That's all." LIAR.
Scan complete.
You gave a small smile as the blue light disappeared. "Hm.. It doesn't show anything wrong, but you'll tell me if anything's wrong, yes?" Sun gazed at you, white iris' locked with your own. You swallowed thick spit and nodded. He was probably like this with everyone, worried about them. It was weird, new to you to have someone be like this... Weird.
"Yeah, yeah sure.." You turned towards your food. "..Hey Sun?" He cocked his head, multiple rays twinging in the action. "Do you think you can taste now that you have a tongue?" This question was only for scientific purposes, you told yourself.
He tapped his chin or the bottom of the moon crest and shrugged, making an 'I don't know sound'. You reached over and tore off a piece of your sandwich.
"Why don't we try?" You shook the piece in your hand with a smirk, tempting. Sun looked between your face and your hand, before opening his smile. Oh, you kind of weren't expecting that. A small, hopefully, unnoticeable blush spread against your cheeks. You thought he'd grab it but ohhhhkayyy..
Positioning the piece of food over his tongue, you gently dropped it in. You swore you felt hot breath over your skin, only for a few moments before you pulled your hand back. He chewed before swallowing..?
"So..?" You looked at him expectingly.
He shook his head before responding. "Eugh! Fizzyfaz is better than this." Oh wow, so he can taste. It left you with a few thoughts, like the small urge to open his stomach hatch and make sure nothing was clogged but as you thought, he stood up and quickly left the room with a loud goodbye. Left to finish your lunch, you were eating your veggies, you realized..
He said Fizzyfaz is better than your sandwich, which meant he had already tasted stuff! Then why.. Why would he have not just answered the question..?? You were left confused for the rest of your 5-minute lunch.
Once lunch was done, the routine was that Sun took the sea of kids over to the play structures while you cleaned up the many.. Many messes on the tables. You didn't really mind it that much, beats getting tackled by a thousand tiny hands.
-
The next time you saw Sun was sitting, long knees bent close against his chest, on a colourful toddler chair. Surrounded by many little girls each in their own seat, they giggled and squealed with joy as Sun played tea party with them.
You were in the midst of walking around the playground, just making sure no one had broken any bones. Seeing the silly scene, you leaned against a slide as you watched the group lift their plastic tea cups, even Sun with such umpf he raised his glass to the sky before lowering it back down to clink against the others.
You watched with lips upturned. Most days Sun was a ball of mass energy, rolling and running and jumping around the play area was a favourite of his. So it was nice to see him not so.. Like that. Calmer, at least.
Your gaze wandered from time to time to the other children, so when it settled back on what you'd previously been looking at, you were surprised when a head had turned to you. As the little girls played pretend, Sun's attention drifted towards you. You give a little wave.
He rose the pink, plastic cup and tipped it towards you before setting it down. You both grinned at each other, a small laugh escaping you at his actions. Sun seemed pleased with his play, as he bid au revoir to the girls as he made his jingling, jangly way towards you. Your eyes widened slightly, not expecting he'd come over.
"Having fun there?" You asked sarcastically, leaning back against the slide as you crossed your arms with a smirk. Sun crouched in front of you, laying one arm across his spread leg as the other, somehow, cupped his cheek.
"Oh, of course friend! But it'd had been better if you'd had joined." You laughed at that. Like hell you would.
"Sorry Sunny, ain't happening." You have much better things to do than play tea party. Like... Make sure no one dies! Yes, that, of course. Kids were stupid, after all. Sun rolled back, doing a small backflip from the floor as he released a loud groan before standing up.
..So tall.
He walked forward, and with only 2 steps of his long stride, he was in front of you once more. You had to tilt your head upwards in order to align with his face, which was down flat resting upon you. "Sun?" You awkwardly smiled, wondering why he was just staring. Normally that's reserved for you since he does most of the talking.
His grin widened as he lifted one hand and hovered it over your head. The red ribbon around his mechanical wrist fell in front of your face, which made you open your mouth to blow it away. You felt his fingers only slightly, shaking above your head. Your brows furrowed. This is weird.
"Why are you touching my hair, Sun?" He laughed as you felt small tingles course through you. He wasn't touching the roots, but small strands that floated in the hair from the electricity of the slide behind you.
"Your hair is floating!" He exclaimed, continuing to curl and wrap the flying hair around his fingers.
"Hu-Urk!" You yelled out in pain as you tilted your face up. Sun retracts his hand in a startle, large rays becoming a tad smaller.
"What's wrong, friend?" He asks, concern laced through his voicebox. You grumbled and settled your own hands atop your head, figuring out the problem rather quickly. Your hair had become stuck in the stupid, plastic slide. You tried to yank your hair out of the small hole it had become trapped in, but it was either because of your moving or Sun twirling your hair, it just hurt like hell.
"Ow, ow, ow!" You did not want to do this today, for fucks sake. You were getting pissed.
Large hands settled over your own after a few more yanks, tugging them from your head and letting them fall to your sides. Sun looked down at your annoyed face and smiled. "Let me do it, sunshine! I'll be gentle, I promise." He began to focus on trying to untangle your hair from the hellish structure as the anger blush changed.
And was replaced with 'Jinkies. Let's not think about the last sentence he said' blush... Well, that was a given since,
His crotch was directly in front of your face.
It's not like you could see anything, it was covered by a silky feeling fabric and skirt. But, just knowing.. Oh, what the hell are you thinking, all he's got under there is metal and wires. You averted your eyes, wishful thinking.
You sucked in a breath as Sun detangled your hair. "Sorry, Sunshine." If it weren't for the cringe of it, you'd be biting your lip right about now. In the silence of it all, your heavy breathing which you hoped he didn't hear, you've noticed something. He'd been calling you Sunshine. Something usually only restricted to the kids, and on all occasions since meeting him, you'd just been 'friend'.
..Why was everything so strange today. You knew you weren't imagining it when the air felt strange just as you walked in today. First the tongue, then the touching, the staring, the smirks, hell he lied about not knowing if he could taste for what reason? What was the reason.
It wasn't until a quick yank of your hair pulled you out of your thoughts. "Ow!" You yelped and grabbed the back of your head, rubbing the sore spot. But hey, you're free! Sun leaned back and crouched down to your height.
"There we go! All, all done." He was a bit too close, cheeks flushing as your eyes wandered to his mouth. NO, not this again. You slapped your hand over his face in a not very well thought out plan. But there you were, palm to his crescent nose, fingers lacing over his white eyes. "Sunshine?" You could feel the movements of his mouth moving under your hand.
"Aha! Yes, thank you Sun. Mhm, you're super helpful and nice anyways I should probably get going ya know? Make sure no kids are dead or anything! Ok bye." Removing your hand, you began to speed walk out of there. You could feel Sun's eyes burning into your back, but thankfully after a few seconds, you heard bells ringing by a group of kids.
Busying yourself with a meaningless task, it was often interrupted by your now 2-minute stare at wall activity. Just.. Why. You wanted to claw your eyes out. Why did you, literally slap him only seconds after helping you out. You didn't even say thank you.
Geez.
You really hoped this day would end soon.
-
It was nearing the end of the day now, the daycare would be fully closed in 30 minutes. There were still quite a few children still here, but most were older than 6 so it'll be fine leaving them unsupervised.
You were walking around with nothing better to do when you heard the familiar, annoying chime of, "Clean up, clean up!" Sun was in the process of cleaning up knocked-over boxes when you crept up beside him. He noticed you the second he set all 3 boxes on top of each other. "Sunshine, you're here!" He exclaimed, turning around to face you.
You nodded, giving him a small smile. You didn't say anything. Partly because you didn't know what to say, especially not after your flight only a few hours earlier and it's not like you can ask a robot how their life is or plans for the weekends. Plus, you like looking at him.
"...Is there something you need!" What..?
His face was now in yours, close, smiling, talking. "Sunshine, are you sure you're just tired?" A jingle from a bell close to your ear, you thought he was going for your cheek but instead his hand rested upon your shoulder. Damn- He was bending down, so close. Could you feel his breath, does he breathe?
You felt a wave of heat rush through you. "N-no! I'm fine, I'm fine." You shrugged his hand off of you, cursed yourself as you backed up before looking at him. He was still bent, arms hanging loosely as he stared at you in confusion.
Ah fuck, how can a robot look so judgemental? Why do you have to make things so weird? "Um, ok yes I actually do need something." He looked at you expectingly. " I wanted to ask you, uh, why you said you didn't know you could taste." His rays twirled, cocking his head with a small smile. "Because! You said fizzyfaz was better than my sandwich and I just..?"
He giggled. You narrowed your eyes as a fit of laughs came over him, the constant sound had made small glitches in his voicebox. "Was it a joke back there? Oh man, I'm so stupid." You chuckled with him, seeing as he couldn't stop. You looked around and saw a couple come through the doors, parents you assumed. Sun didn't look like he'd be stopping soon, so you excused yourself. "Um, ok. I'm just gonna get this.."
Walking towards the doors, you turned back to get a quick glance of the robot when you swore you saw his tongue stick out and..Lick his lips.. Non-existent lips..? Why is he still staring at youuu- Ok you're turning around now.
"Hello, who are you picking up?" You smile at the couple, trying to get the image out of your mind.
"Mathew." They spoke. You hummed, looking at the daily paper which had every entered kid's number. You punched it into the computer and the very, very handy GPS in the bracelet came into view.
"It says he's in one of the play structures right now, do you wanna try calling to him?" You turned towards the couple who were on their phones.
"Can't you do it?" The mom groaned, not even looking up at you. Your eye twitched.
"Of course." Bitch. You started walking towards the play structures, calling his name. You knew what the kid looked like, he was a regular after all. Couldn't imagine why. (You could) You saw the kid's head poke up once from the colourful structure. "Mathew cmon, your parents are waiting for you." You called, turning your head upwards.
"No!" He yelled before disappearing. You grumbled before turning around and.. Bumped into a yellow chest. Looking up, you saw Sun's rays fully extend outwards as he leaned down.
"Need some help?" He spoke a little, no, a lot too close to your ear. Your mind shut down for a second.
..
In an instant, you backed away at least 10 feet, cupping the ear that definitely felt wet breath. You could hear your heartbeat in your ears as you stared at the animatronic. Fucking scrap metal!
"Uh, yes. I- I need the kid, Mathew. I need Mathew." You coughed, taking your hand away from your ear and straightening your uniform. Pointing your finger towards the little boy, you averted your eyes from the increasingly weird robot. "He's up there."
Sun nodded with a sly smile before crawling up the slide. You swear Moon and him are part spiders. Catching your breath, you turned your head up towards the slide and shook your fist. The next time you see Sun, you'll strangle him. But for now, turning towards the front desk, you sighed. You're gonna have to track down way more kids.
-
"Hahhhhhh.." Your face planted against the door to the back room. Times like these make you wonder what the hell made you think you could handle chasing kids around for 45 minutes. Groaning, you lifted your tired arms and turned the knob. Slipping into the room, you went to your bag and got out your phone.
It was around the time you'd usually help and clean up, but after the shit you've been through today.. You know, you can't lie. All the staring and smiling was weird from Sun, but the dusting you off and helping you with your hair.. Was nice. Felt weird, but nice too, in a way.
But whatever, you put up with whatever bullshit he was playing today. All the arousal you had to push down deep inside you today was just waiting to burst. You had a plan, the moment you got home you were going to run to your beloved toy, sweet, sweet, clit destroyer 3000.
Thinking of that made your mood sweeten as you put everything back into your purse. Just as you were about to put your lunch containers inside, the door behind you swung open with a loud "Hellooo!". Anyone could distinguish that voice, and since you've been hearing it all day you didn't bother to turn around.
"Hello, Sun." You sighed. Leave me alone you stupid, sexy robot. You were packing the containers into your purse when you felt a weight on your shoulder. Stiffening, you looked to your side and saw Sun resting on you. It would have looked funny from behind, to see a 7ft tall robot bending down.
"Isn't it funny we keep meeting here?" Sun laughs into your shoulder. You acknowledge his comment with a hum, closing your purse. "Sunshine what's wrong?" He digs at you.
"..It's nothing. Tired, is all. Sorry Sun but," You shrug him off and turn around, tiredness shown on your face. "I just really want to go home, it's been a stupidly long day." Clit destroyer 3000, clit destroyer 3000, clit destroyer 3000-
Sun releases a whine which startles you, capturing each of your hands with his own, pulling slightly. "No! You can't leave yet! We haven't even cleaned up everything, and you know, you know clean up is the most important part of the day!" You roll your eyes. Your heartbeat sped up.
"You're the master at it Sun, all I ever really do is put a few toys in the boxes." You look towards your encased hands and his face. He looks like he's trying really hard not to put up an angry face as he tugs at you once more.
"Sunshine! You've never not helped clean up."
"I just, not today. Ok?" You tugged your hands away from his, grip loosening against resistance as they fell to your sides. His hands flew to his hips, settling on them as his stance shouted disciplining mom.
"But why? Why?" You swear to god-
"It's because you were so weird today." You eye him as you lean against the brick wall behind you. He cocks his head.
"Weird?" He asks. You nod.
"Yeah! All the staring and touching! The feeding, and what the hell was that when you literally breathed in my ear!" You snapped, rubbing your eyes before sighing. He just stared at you, smile never fading. That's weird. Now that he's got this upgrade, why isn't he frowning?
"I think I understand." He exclaimed, giddy. You raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah? You understand?" You huffed, turning around to grab your purse.
A pair of soft hands wrapped around your waist. Hot breath entered your ear with a rather quiet whisper. "You're all pent up Sunshine." You sucked in a breath.
"Excuse me?" You tried to twist yourself away, but his grip held tight by metal locks.
"Don't deny it silly, silly goose, it wasn't just me staring all day!" He laughed and booped your nose. You felt his chest press against your back as he leaned his face down. "You've been having naughty, naughty thoughts all day haven't you? Ever since I showed you my upgrade, you've been in la la land!" His hands pressed against your sides as he spoke. Maybe he wasn't as dense as you thought.
"I-No, no it's not like that-" You stuttered, trying to defend yourself. Long fingers caressed your sides, digging into the fabric of your uniform and the fold of your skin. You gasped at one particular hard dig, wrenching one of your arms free and slapping his hand. "That hurt." You mumbled.
Sun nuzzled against your neck as he softened his hands, massaging your sides. You sighed. Is this.. Real? You weren't just sleep-deprived at the wheel and imagining this?
"Let me take care of you, Sunshine." You really should say no, but isn't this what you wanted? You could get fired for this, but this is what you've been imagining. All day, was everything he did all day leading to this?
That sneaky little bastar-
You nodded against his chest, feeling his hands inch below your shirt. You let out a soft "Yes.." as you felt his long fingers slip under the fabric and press onto bare skin. It wasn't hard like earlier, but soft. Caressing, a slow sliding pace. It calmed you from your anger, what were you ever so angry about? Sun was helping you unwind. You thanked god you weren't facing him, your cheeks and ears felt like they'd been poured over with lava.
However, from all the standing you've been doing all day, you'd really like to sit down for this. "..Floor." You mumbled, pointing to it as your knees started to feel weak. His hands fell from your body and you winced in sadness, his hands were so warm.
Instead of moving down to the concrete floor as you thought you'd do, you were surprised when Sun suddenly lifted you up from under your legs, carrying you out the door and making a beeline for the ball pit. You looked up at him with a glare. "Are we seriously gonna fuck in the ball pi- ACK!" The loose grip you had on his arms around you tightened as you were lifted in the air, only for a few seconds before you felt the stability of ground beneath you.
Tuning around, you realized you were on the infamous balcony Sun usually jumped out from. "Shit Sun, don't do that without a warning next time." You shook your head, looking at the grinning robot.
"Language, Sunshine!" He exclaimed, pushing you towards a pile of pillows, blankets, and stuffed animals from the gift shops. Laying down onto the pile, you smiled as you felt how soft it was. Sun quickly settled over you, making your cheeks grow a furious red hue. "But more important, importantly! Next time?"
You sputtered, looking away from the animatronic hovering over you. He grinned, sticking out his tongue in a playful manner.
"I will slap your face again." You muttered, embarrassment evident on you. Sun laughed, leaning away from you.
"You're going to have to reach me first!" His childish tone lessened from by your ear to further below you. Reach him? What does that meaaaaa- Why is he moving in between your legs!?
"I-Uh w- Sun what are you doing!" You lifted yourself up to take a better look, but a large hand on your chest laid you flat. Another hand had taken hold of your loose-fitting work jeans and was shimmying them off of you as you sputtered.
"I'm taking care of you?" Sun said it like it was the most obvious thing. He poked his head up, retracting his lower beams and placing his chin on your stomach. Smiling with mouth loosely opened, you could see the fake, pink muscle. You swallowed.
"..Ok." You let out a shallow breath as Sun's grin widened. Opening his mouth, he slid down the hand pressed against your chest further down, lifting up your shirt just enough as he licked a long stride from the center of your ribs to your belly button.
..When did he get so cocky. And hot, so hot and cocky? Where is that stupid animatronic you knew? It felt a little ticklish as he licked you as you let out a tiny laugh.
Both his hands quickly came to your waist, pulling your pants down with one quick swipe. The cold wasn't a problem when Sun literally radiated constantly with heat, plus with all this extra 'heat' in your legs, you felt warm. A little too warm.
"Uh.." Releasing quick puffs of air, your eyes widened when you felt one hand settle on your inner thigh, the other cautiously started to touch you against clothed parts. You bit your lip, trying to look down at Sun, but were immediately shot down by several 'tsks'.
"Sunshineee.." His voice lowered, more so than you've ever heard before that made you want to hear more. "If you keep moving, I'll have to punish you." You blinked, and-
You whined.
His finger pressed harder into you, the only thing separating him and you were this stupid underwear! "Look at you, sweet, sweet thing." He giggled, watching as you squirmed from underneath him. "Don't worry, I'm going to take such good care of you!" His finger only stopped short of a second, before he decided to slide it under the straps, tugging your underwear off of you.
Butt naked, you felt rather self-conscious. As expected with a person who has a vibrator called 'clit destroyer 3000', you've never really gotten 'some'.
What a life you've lived.
"Oh, how naughty.." Sun spoke up, twirling your panties on his finger. The ones you had on today were, conveniently, yellow with red stripes around the band decorated with pale lace.
..It was weird how similar they were to Sun-
"Do you wear this every day Sunshine? Do you?" He smiled, innocently as he stretched the underwear with both hands. Your cheeks grew hotter at the display of him literally inspecting the cloth.
"Uh, no. I just put on whatever's clean." You lifted yourself on your elbows, staring as Sun brought the pair up to his faceplate and.. Turned towards you. With a grin, he pushed you back down again, just when your sight went out of view as he stuffed the yellow panties into his giant pants.
"Shame."
Before you could even realize it, he was laying on his chest, in between your legs, hands on each thigh spreading them out. You gasped, eyes darting around the room as you felt hot breath cover your most intimate part.
"Mfh- Sun, please." You groaned, feeling his chuckle vibrate against you. It hadn't even started and you're already begging. It was only a few seconds later when you jolted, feeling a firm, wet pressure slide upon you.
And again.
And again.
"You taste so, so, sooo good!" He exclaimed before diving back down.
Teasing, running up, up, so close-! And it was here! Before it was gone in mere seconds. Your arousal was only growing thicker, trying to reach his head and just- Shove him in there, but he was too far down. You knew he knew what he was doing, feeling him smirk and snicker at odd times against you.
Just as you were about to snap at him, you felt his attention finally, finally! Focus on your clit. The, incredibly wet, silicone tongue of his was actually rather long. "Oh my gods, finally!" You cried, clenching the blankets around you.
You bit down on your lower lip, only slightly deafening the sounds coming from you as he circled your pink button. The moment you did, Sun had resurfaced, shaking his head as he tsked once more. "Sunshinee, let me hear your pretty, pretty little voice." His voicebox seemed to purr out his lines. You didn't want him to stop, couldn't.
God, you're so desperate.
You immediately did as told, releasing a small moan as his finger replaced his tongue. Rubbing you just as he'd done, he also moved to explore your entrance. With both hands occupied with pleasing you, he had let go of your thighs which were starting to burn at how spread apart they were. You decided to set them over his thin shoulders, which he agreed to with his quickening speed.
"Aw doll, you're getting so wet! You're splashing my hand!" He laughed at your reaction as his finger quickly rotated.
A finger had slower entered you, skinny but long, reaching deep within you. You wanted to grasp him closer, clenching the sheets around you. He tested the waters of your hole, seeing it clench around such a skinny little thing wouldn't do~
Adding another finger, he started to pump in and out with a small adjustment time. "Oh.. Su-Sun.." You rolled your head sideways, staring at small papers covered in children's drawings spread across the floor in the balcony room. You had a hard time focusing on anything though, closing and opening your eyes as the pressure in your belly got deeper. Abruptly, the finger above stopped and left you, with only 2 other fingers pumping in and out of you.
"Well, well, weeellll, you're sucking me right up Sunshine! Who knew you'd be so sweet?" Your mouth opened and closed. You saw Sun open his maw, dipping his wet fingers dripping with your essence into his mouth. It felt so, so hot, so good. Sun's words, although a little weird to say while fingering someone, were doing something to you. It felt a bit wrong to imagine a daycare robot doing such things to you, but as they were happening to you right now, hell do you even care?
The answer is no.
You jolted, sensitive as that first, familiar touch pounced on you once more. Sun lapped at your clit with exhilarating speeds, having you squirming, gasping and stomach in hoops. His tongue applied steady pressure to your pleasure making you squeeze him tighter around your thighs. You wanted to scream when he took you inside his mouth, which was unsurprisingly very hot, making a sucking motion from within.
"My, my, aren't you a noisy one?" You hadn't even realized the sounds you'd been making until now, but could you even care? You were glad Sun had a sensible mind, retracting his rays only halfway so they wouldn't poke your legs as you kept shaking.
Another finger was added when you had the sense of orgasm soon. Fingers never faltering, the pace of his hand held steady as he licked and somehow? Sucked your clit. It didn't matter that Sun's mouth was occupied when you had a built-in voice box.
"I can feel you tense up doll, are you close? Hm, hmm?? Are you going to come?" His tongue circled you, pressing hard against the soft silicone.
"Mhmm- Y-yeah it's.. It's coming soo- Ah-" You squeezed your eyes shut as you tried to focus on your breathing through this mind-blowing pleasure. In, out, in out, in..
Out-
Your mouth opened but nothing was said, a silent scream of incoherent joy. Sun's actions didn't cease until your body was full-on shaking, jolting at every touch, tensing with each lower muscle.
"..Well that was super, duper fun!" Sun's head popped up from your legs, lifting your thighs off each shoulder, carefully setting them down onto the pile of blankets. You took a moment to catch your breath as Sun moved to instead sit beside you, criss cross apple sauce as he inspected your face.
"Oh, ok. My god. Phew." You took deep breaths with a small smile, inhaling the afterglow of an amazing orgasm.
"I told you I'd take care of you, didn't I?" He smiles wide, setting a large hand overtop your head, ruffling your hair slightly. You swat his hand away, leaning up.
"I guess you did." Chilling for a few minutes after, you soon realize you ought to get home. And not for your vibrator, this time, but for a sweet, sweet shower.
You fucking reek.
Sun helps you gather scattered pants, socks, and shoes when you remember something else. Turning around, you see him eye your bare ass. You give him a deadpan look. "Sun, where did you put my underwear."

Hello :3
I hope I'm not bothering you and I hope this is okay to request, I don't want to push boundaries and make you uncomfortable because I know that I'm asking for a lot right now, but I was listening to Spotify and the song "We'll Never Have Sex" by Lieth Ross came on (it's a very good song and it really gets me in my feels, I really recommend listening to it) and my first thought was the Moon boys with reader who struggles with past SA and thinks of themselves a ruthless monster since the reader is an active mercenary (I don't know if you write for male readers or not but I'm politely asking if you can make the reader male please and thank you 🥺👉🏻👈🏻 it's okay if not)
Sorry for rambling so much and asking for a lot of things from you, please don't feel rushed to make this and be sure to take care of yourself
The Nerve.

Sorry for the amount of text on this writers note, lol: Hi!!! So, this is my first request!! :) And I have a lot to say lol.
To whoever sent me this request I want to thank them for trusting in me and my writing to make something that feels somehow personal and for being the nicest ever! <3 Don't say sorry for asking for certain stuff, I really from the bottom of my heart hope that this fulfills what you wanted to read <3

Summary.
Oh, you kissed me just to kiss me, Not to take me home. It was simple, it was sweetness, It was good to know.
Tumblr media
It had been a long time since the idea of death had ceased to matter to you.
When Bushman took everything from you and slowly immersed you in a world you never wanted to be a part of in the first place, you began to understand that perhaps whoever ended your life would be doing you a favor.
So when your mission turned into breaking into one of the neighborhoods protected by the vigilante in white to 'dispose of' some random person, you accepted without protest.
And that was basically the context of how you ended up like this, underneath him with his hands on your neck. You had put up a good fight; in fact, you could see how his chest rose and fell heavily with fatigue. In the end, your training was nothing compared to whatever was protecting him.
The air escaped from your lungs, your vision was blurry, and you heard him growl beneath the mask, your body was about to give in.
You were almost happy to know that this was finally the day. You stopped fighting, and in less than 10 seconds, the ceremonial white suit turned into an ordinary white and cream-toned tuxedo. The mask disappeared as well, and his startled expression filled your entire field of vision.
"Marc?" you whispered with a hoarse voice, and his orbs widened even more in surprise.
"Do you know him?" the vigilante murmured to himself, his hands trembling as he moved them away from your neck.
As much as you tried to hold on, your body gave in just a little while later, from exhaustion, shock, or perhaps the lack of oxygen in general.
Tumblr media
The punishment for failing had been worse than you remembered.
It had been a long time since you had failed a mission.
Still, as you tended to your wounds, there wasn't much on your mind other than the encounter with Marc. Your Marc.
For several months now, you had come to accept the idea that he was dead, even if 'accept' for you meant crying in his name during the nights or using all your strength to pound your fists as a way to vent your anger for losing him.
Was it really him, or had your mind gone to him immediately when it thought you were about to die?
And if that was Marc, had he recognized you, or had the mask done its job well?
Tumblr media
It was foolish of him to assume that you hadn't felt his footsteps behind you. He had been following you from at least four blocks away, and even though you knew it was him, you had no desire to confront him.
You were angry, of course, the rage at the thought of him trying to excuse his disappearance flooded you every time you stopped to think, but probably the word that would work best right now would be 'tired.' It was your day off, probably the only one in the week when you didn't stain yourself with blood and didn't have to deal with work.
And there he was, reminding you of every horrible detail of your life with his mere presence.
When your body pushed his against a wall in the nearest alley, both of you remembered that although he might be stronger, he would never be smarter.
He raised his hands in a sign of innocence, and you took the liberty to study his face in detail after so long. The same mischievous curl of hair always ran across his forehead, and his brow was furrowed, not out of annoyance or surprise, that had always been Marc's lifelong expression.
"What are you doing here?" You spat out the words with more bitterness than you would have liked.
He didn't respond. Apparently, he was still the same as always. When you let go of him, his body seemed even more tense.
"Oh, you're not going to answer, I get it," you nodded to yourself. You could swear you were going crazy. "If your plans don't involve killing me or attempting it like the other night, or maybe speaking and using your damn mouth for once, I want you to stay away from me."
He was not able to say anything or to follow you.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, what Marc didn't anticipate was that your encounters wouldn't be solely with him, as there were two other individuals in his head waiting to come out at the slightest provocation.
The second time around, Jake was in charge, and somehow, he had even less control over his punches.
"Who are you, niño bonito?" (Pretty boy.) You groaned in pain as his foot on your chest forced you to stay on the ground, catching your breath. "Why is Marc so interested in you, huh?"
You didn't respond; in fact, you didn't even believe you had processed his questions. Instead, you pulled on his foot, the same one that was on top of you, and brought him down in a thud. You felt the hint of a smile on your face.
"Mierda." he muttered under his breath, and without giving him a chance, you escaped from him.
You had a million theories in your mind. With all your time in that world, you knew inside and out every kind of torture imaginable, and the idea that Marc's memory was failing didn't seem so far-fetched.
That, or he simply wanted to pretend he didn't know you, although that made much less sense. Either way, he was an idiot for injuring your shoulder tonight.
Tumblr media
Then you had an encounter with Steven, and it was much more enlightening than the previous three. You almost killed him when you saw him in front of your apartment, with those puppy-dog eyes and soothing himself with a hand game. You noticed that his sleeves were longer than his arms.
Hah.
"What do you want, Marc?"
"I don't…" A funny accent. You caught it in the first few seconds. "I'm not Marc."
That led to a conversation that the mentioned one probably wouldn't have enjoyed because Steven took it upon himself to tell you in detail everything that had happened in the months when you hadn't been in contact with your ex-best friend and former mission partner.
You knew about his mother, you knew Marc's tumultuous past and how all of that had led him to belong to one of the largest and most terrible groups of mercenaries and thieves on the continent, but it turns out the idiot never told you another result of the trauma.
Dissociative Identity Disorder.
You had a faint understanding of how it worked, and Steven seemed so nervous that you were afraid to ask for a deeper explanation. The whole situation gave you an exceptional headache, but the real story was nowhere near as crazy as half of the theories you had in mind for days.
Oh, and you also understood that he didn't seek you out by his own choice.
"I can understand why he can't stop thinking about you," Steven said as gently as he could after a few prolonged minutes of silence.
It was surprising how he managed to make his voice not sound like he was flirting with you, just a sweet confession, accompanied by a nervous smile.
"He wants to talk to you but doesn't know how." It was the next thing he said, understanding that it was time to leave and leave you alone; you had a lot to think about.
Tumblr media
Your feet dangled at the edge of a building's ledge as you sipped your beer as if you'd been thirsty for days, Marc was doing the same beside you. Both of you laughed at nonsense, so close that your shoulders brushed against each other. "We're heading back home," you murmured with your eyes closed as you enjoyed the cold breeze hitting your body. Marc was looking at you, he always did. Over time, you understood that returning from your missions was never really coming home; Marc was your home. "If you let yourself get shot again, I'm going to kill you myself." You laughed with your eyes closed; your leg still hurt. After long minutes of silence, the other's hand found its way to your chin. And you opened your eyes, looking at him with confusion. His fingers gently pressed against your skin, and you obediently leaned in. He was so close. You could smell mint and beer on his breath, his eyes seemed to shine brighter than the stars that night. The daydream lasted briefly, before you could react, your entire body was pulling back, rejecting him in the full meaning of the word. Marc didn't insist after that day; he understood well what your expression of fear meant.
You woke up drenched in sweat, your breath ragged as if you had run a marathon. You no longer had to bear the idea that Marc had left without knowing that you felt the same way he did, but things had changed so much that you weren't even sure if he had come back.
Tumblr media
Marc began to let Jake take charge when you played this little game of the cat and the mouse.
You weren't going to yield, and it wasn't out of a passion for the job; you knew what failing meant to Bushman. You had experienced it more times than you would have liked since Marc had disappeared that night in Cairo.
Jake was more… aggressive than usual; you could feel it in the force with which he struck.
In a moment of distraction, you stopped his fist with your hand, and although you couldn't see his face, you knew you had taken him by surprise.
"How long are you going to keep this up?" He growled. His accent allowed you to recognize him, just like with Steven, who had told you all about the two of them.
"Until you give up," you squeezed his fist between your fingers, "or kill me."
You felt him suddenly stop pressing when you said that. The mask disappeared in front of your eyes, and he tilted his head slightly to the side as he examined you with his eyes.
You rewarded him by removing your mask, letting him see your face. You heard him gulp.
"¿Quién eres?" (Who are you?) He whispered, and both of you let your guard down in seconds.
You didn't answer, just as Marc would've done, and the truth was, you didn't even know who you were. His now-enemy? An old friend of Marc? Now a stranger?
Tumblr media
It turns out that one of the many nights you crossed paths, Jake and you were able to talk. In some other circumstance, you would have joked about how you liked him better than Marc.
He was more friendly when he wasn't trying to break your ribs.
"What happened?" You feared the question, but maybe it would be fair to let it out for once in your life.
"He was…" You cleared your throat, searching for what to say. "He was very special to me." You didn't have the strength to say he was your everything. "My best friend."
Both of you had met while working for Bushman, and the connection was undeniable for both.
And although you adored him, you thought you were crazy when you felt him brush his hand against yours, or when he hugged you as if he wanted to squeeze the oxygen out of your lungs when he found you alive at the end of a mission.
Jake understood why he felt so drawn to you, where that strange feeling of nostalgia came from when he saw you.
"Do you miss him?" The question hurt more than the blows, and you realized that you had never talked about this with anyone, as if Marc were only a product of your solitary imagination.
Tumblr media
Of the three, Jake was the one who had lived through and seen the worst things as Marc and Steven's protector, so it wasn't hard for him to understand what you had faced throughout your life.
And the truth was, he was afraid to ask. He was afraid to go too far because his mind sent him to something as personal as it was terrifying.
He realized it in probably the least reasonable way for both when your late-night conversations gave him the idea that maybe you felt the same way he did, even though he wasn't Marc. He leaned forward, and his lips collided with yours. It felt right, a strange feeling of 'finally.' You reciprocated, your lips gently brushing against his in a gesture as intimate as it was delicate.
The problem came when he rested a hand on your thigh for stability as he leaned forward. Your heart stopped.
The fear was almost paralyzing, almost. Not enough for you not to push him away, and Jake obeyed without exerting force, although he did look at you confused, worried.
You had to blink many times to try to clear your vision. momentarily, it was as if Jake's face merged with someone else's. Your eyes filled with tears, your body suddenly rejecting his before running away.
Tumblr media
You didn't see them for the next two weeks, and you continued to move in the shadows, this time without interruption. At least they wouldn't get you into trouble.
Although the rule didn't apply to Steven Grant, who was trying to get your attention with his ridiculous white tuxedo while you cleaned a wound on your cheek.
"What's up, Steven?" Your voice was so soft that even he was surprised. To Jake's panic, he could swear you were disgustingly upset with them.
"Jake feels sorry." That was the first thing he said.
And you laughed.
"Why?"
"For not asking for your permission." Well, that was new.
Did anyone ask for it?
Tumblr media
You took longer than you would have liked to confront Marc, he was probably as reluctant to these encounters as you were. He visited your apartment and didn't even greet you.
But you understood. You understood as you had been understanding for a long time, and you let it pass.
You spent the evening with your head in his lap, and he touched your hair delicately as if he were going to hurt you. Quite ironic after the number of blows you had received from him.
Or from his body, rather.
You had never been with him… like this. The closest had been that night on the rooftop.
Marc ran his hands through your hair as much as he wanted to, but he never went beyond your neck; he could feel your body tense when his fingers grazed your skin. He understood it, and from the darkness, Jake did too.
The issue wasn't him, and it wasn't you either.
Tumblr media
Do you ever think about them?" Jake looked at you, curious.
"Them?"
"The ones affected."
Ah, them. He pressed his lips together as he thought about what to say; if Marc was bad with words, he somehow was even worse.
"I try not to."
You nodded slowly, satisfied with the answer. He had stopped chasing you a while ago; he had other methods to distract you from your missions, although you never told him what that resulted in. Maybe he already imagined it, or he was so focused on you that he never noticed.
He placed his hand over yours and looked at you intently for a brief moment, as if confirming that you were okay with it. You moved your hand to entwine your fingers together.
He gave you a squeeze, catching your attention.
When you looked at him, he gave you a smile.
"I'm here." Just what you wanted to hear.
Tumblr media
Your invitation surprised Steven, who, although he understood that there was something between you, didn't know to what extent because of how volatile you were.
Thankfully, Steven was the most careful and innocent person you could know, so your invitation to sleep together was taken just as that, with no jokes involved.
You spent the early hours talking about everything, and somehow, although the four of you spent more time talking than you thought, the conversation never seemed to end. And as expected, you got to that topic.
You were crying, as you had started doing for some time now.
"I don't deserve you."
"What are you talking about, love?" He laughed in genuine confusion. One of his arms was around you, and you felt his warm breath on your neck.
"I'm not… I…" You mumbled, taking a breath. "I'm a bad person."
You felt him tense behind you; suddenly, he was holding you tighter against his chest, and you didn't feel fear. In fact, you could swear you felt a deep need for more contact from him.
"M-Marc, he's…" Another sob from you, why was it physically painful to express your feelings? "He's fixing the things he's done, you know?" You had to take a breath to continue. "The people I've hurt, the things I've done…"
Steven moved his hand up your body, and his hand pressed against your chest as if he needed to feel the beats of your heart for comfort. He didn't know what to say.
"You're not a bad person." He made you cry even more, if that was possible.
"I, I don't…"
"Shhh." He exerted more pressure on your chest to make you feel your own ragged breathing. "You're not a monster."
Steven had thought something similar about himself; he knew well what you were feeling.
And Marc, and Jake.
That's all you needed to hear to know that you were in good hands, even in this moment when you felt nothing but the urge to cry.
He got you.
The number of scars on your body already exceeded the space you had in your memory to remember all the horrible stories they told. And yet, Steven kissed them all.

Hii, i'm not doing tag list on this one because of the themes I talked about :)

I–
All right, y’all, I’ve got some things to say.
Spoilers for ramblings about Dislyte Unknown Collection Story Mode:
First, some positives!
• There were some pretty interesting concepts introduced: Raven having premonition and memory-erasing powers, using her wings + comet/shooting star + all how it influences the EU: the use of stone tablets, giving out only pieces of information to the public, not interfering with the future, etc.
• I liked how the Esper Union felt more gray aligned than straight up black or white considering its origins.
• I enjoyed seeing Triki a bit fleshed out, but let me just say that I'm biased about this because I literally don't have him yet so I don't know too much about him aside from the basics. A little disappointed to not have seen the whole crew. I was also hoping to see Zora and Ren Shi too. 😭😭 I will say, I can appreciate Yamato just coming around to be a menace and have fun, lol
• The silly and cute things like the Draw and Guess game, Tevor’s photo with Hilda??? (When and how even was this/could this happen, lol), commander Xuan Pin post-Immortal Fire and her relationship with Mateo, Alexa and Abigail having their moments together, and Alexa being a Wattpad writer amateur romance novelist on the side, lol.
• Lots of lovely and memorable artwork especially! Sachiko was obviously the devs’ favorite since they drew her so adorably, lol Assassin’s Creed reference?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Negatives.
• Y’all… This felt like an alternate universe rather than an addition to literally everything we’ve ever been introduced to in canon, so I’m just going to treat it as such. I could've avoided this and wouldn’t missed out on anything.
• Also, as interesting as it is, Raven being clairvoyant came out of nowhere, lol There’s no mention, reference, or anything anywhere suggesting this in Dislyte canon, besides the fact that Odin (Norse Mythology) has that ability. I do miss her bike and wolf though, lol The [Player] character gave more Mary Sue isekai’d into the game vibes rather than someone literally not from this world who’s experiencing Grandis and Miracles for the first time. If Markiplier can be canon in the universe but not in a weird way, then they could’ve done something along those lines for him too. Why exactly did Tang Na turn into a “Miramon”? Usually, overdrawing on your powers (could) just kill(s) you like in Gaius’ or Leora’s event. I guess it changed for then humanity/divinity balance. Where’s Discboom? She could’ve been a good lock instead. 😔😔
• What was going on with the writing and pacing? There were lots of typos, weird wording, and kind of a strange flow from chapter to chapter. Maybe localization editing was rushed? Like, I could appreciate trying a new style, but it also felt off-putting a lot of times and not as cohesive or seamless as it could’ve been. The Shackled Collection, the OG story mode, was much better in this regard. And then, there’s…
The ending…
Tumblr media
• Honestly, it’s a bit hard to play devil’s advocate with that ending because from the standpoint of a first-time new player, who hasn’t been through Gaius’, Norah’s, or Embla’s event, the OG main story/Shackled Collection, or any other big lore heavy events, it might feel like “whoa, plot twist! That’s interesting!” But it’s still a little lackluster.
As a long time player whose way too DEEP and invested in Dislyte lore, characters, and world building, I was very disappointed.
I mean, he didn’t even have a hinted-at “I want” moment or off-putting conversation with the [Player] to help build it up. All the Anesidora moments literally could’ve been her talking to Embla or Hyde for all I know. I think that I needed better breadcrumbs not because I didn’t see the twist coming, but because it didn't really pay off. As if they chose him to be the villain for the sake of shock value instead of any substance. Why does he want the power? Gaius. Union Hub Director and Researcher Gaius? He was just like, “Good job, Mayor Abigail. Pot, kettle. Yes, I’m bad. AND I want a new world order. 😈😈 What'd you wish for, Sachiko!???” And was anti-climatically blasted away.
The Shadow Decree is more than just “bwahaha evil villainy because evil” kind of people and we’ve seen that several times now so there was a lot to work with. Personally, I’m anti-evil Gaius, but if they wanted to make it a bit more believable, here’s three different scenarios off the top of my head that fits Gaius’ personality and the whole fate theme going on.
1. Desperate Gaius “It’s been more than a decade of fighting and failure and bloodshed. I’m tired of seeing Raven hurt because of her [powers™] and witnessing both the Esper Union and SD fail at achieving what for mere humans and Espers is impossible. But then, I remembered Hannah’s private research from long ago all this time about [insert gate of promotion info to explain how that even cropped up]. And it was all true. Yamato finding [Player], Raven’s vision, and Abigail’s intel confirmed that even further. Hyde, not believing in [insert gate and wish stuff], had tried to counter it with his artificial esper project, but it devolved into something entirely different [insert Sieg]. But I knew if I wanted to prove it, I needed to take measures beyond just the Union’s resources. So, I reached out to Yamato and Hyde and the rest was history. Hannah told me that I could use my powers for good. With the full power of the Starlight’s Miracle Nexus, I can save this world from the havoc and turmoil the Miracles created — by making a new one.”
Or like, 2. Slightly Ominous Positivity™ Derails into Deluded Gaius, “Don’t worry, Raven and [Player]. Just as I trust you, trust me. Even if that was her final premonition, I trust that all will play out according to fate. If fate brought us [Esper Seven] together, if it brought Hannah into my life, then I know that it will lead me to where I need to be to help everyone that I can.” Slowly turns into obsessive, corrupted selfishness as he stresses over of Raven’s prophecy, learning about the Gate of Promotion does through Yamato and the Shadow Decree, corrupted with thoughts of its unlimited potential and what it can do for him; “Can you believe it? Fate brought us to the Starlight Miracle’s Nexus that can grant me the power to do anything. Raven was wrong. This is true destiny [taking all the divine power for himself]. Hannah, give me the strength to best this fate like you did for me to save everyone. I will succeed no matter who’s against me!”
Heck, even a 3. Turned His Back on the Light to Save His Friends Gaius “They’re my friends. Us Seven have been through more than you [Player] can ever imagine. So, when Hyde and Embla came to us [Raven and Gaius] with a truce and told me that we could use this power for actual good for the world... I had to make a decision. One that could change the fate of everything Raven knew, regardless of what she saw, but be our only chance at saving everything. I know Raven would never forgive me after what I did… especially to her… but as the Esper Union Hub Director, I will do anything and sacrifice everything I have to save as many people as I can, even if it means colluding and sinking to the darkest places. Even breaking bread with the dark forces I once knew as my comrades. I promised Hannah that I would help others. You need to understand that the ends will always justify the means.”
Or something like that since we know he can be incredibly selfless/borderline sacrificial when it comes to saving people close to him and up keeping this position. Also, is Leora’s backstory still the same bc I feel like she would’ve already tried to tell everyone about Gaius being a shadow councilor when she defected since she was mentored by Embla, a shadow councilor. They hold annual end of year All-Hands, for crying out loud, lmfaooo Ain’t no way she didn’t know.
I don’t know, y’all. I’m just rambling at this point.
I really needed the seasoning Gaius was missing in his life if they’re going to make him bad. He wasn’t a very compelling bad guy. 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️
Furthermore, it felt like they potentially retrofitted the general Dislyte lore/world building for a lot of stuff?
For me, one of the biggest things was everything around the Gate of Promotion in the Nexus. “The Miracle Nexus, the source of all Miracles,” Mkay, but how did they learn about the Gates? How did Narmer and Cang Ji, dudes who LOVE researching and exploring Miracles, not find it or learn about it years before? It’s been about 10+ years since the whole Miracle-Miramon situation began when the Esper Seven explored Miracle Prime and you’re telling me that supposedly somehow only now Yamato, Gaius, Raven, Abigail and the SD know about the Gates? And if Raven’s premonition gave that info, that still doesn’t explain why everyone else knew about it before then like Xuan Pin, Abigail, and Yamato. And about the lock too. Who gave everyone this knowledge? Like, Did the [Player] character come with a manual that Yamato’s been making leaks of or something, lol? He’s supposed to be a whole ‘Miracle destroyer’ and no one else is interested in that?
All in all, all I can say is that it was a choice and I had fun if I just think of it as an OVA or Isekai AU or something.

Can you write some badass Gregory? In the games nobody was really around to witness him surviving and doing an awesome job for a child so maybe get everyone’s reactions?
Gregory doing an insanely impressive thing without thinking:
The animatronics & Vanessa: !!!!
Freddy clutching his chest: that’s my superstar!!
This is tumblr generated prompt number 65 and marks the halfway point of this round! I’m a big fan of competent/bamf Gregory, enough so that I feel like I’m running out of slightly plausible scenarios to put this kid in to highlight that, lol. I ended up repurposing the premise of an old ficlet that I never finished, so, context: there’s a handful of kids trapped in the pizzaplex that Vanny’s looking to pick off one by one, like a game. Gregory’s thirteen here!
title taken from an old short story of the same name
The Most Dangerous Game
Gregory silently grit his teeth together, legs aching from how long he’d been crouching in place. Behind him were the two younger kids he’d found—seven-year-old Jenna and ten-year-old Delaney. He didn’t know how many of them were trapped inside the pizzaplex; he didn’t know how many were dead already.
“Okay,” he whispered as Roxy finally disappeared into the east arcade. “Ready?”
Both girls nodded, their fingers tightly linked together. Jenna was crying. He wanted nothing more than to get there somewhere safe, or as safe as any place could be in this hellhole.
He took Jenna’s other hand, keeping her between him and Delaney, and then he pulled them out of the photo booth they’d been huddled in for ages. To the younger kids’ credit, they kept up with him and did so quietly as he ran as fast as he dared to the escalators. Gregory kept a careful eye on the arcade entrance, but it stayed Roxy-free as they cautiously started down the steps.
He dared to breathe a sigh of relief when they reached the middle level, but they kept going. He was aiming for the ground floor.
Their ultimate goal was the daycare. Sun was odd, not murderous, and hopefully by the time Cassie was done with him, whatever weird glitch had him so twitchy and at-odds with his other half would be fixed.
As much as he hated it, as much as he wanted to keep all of them with him where he could protect them himself, Gregory had to leave the girls behind if he was going to find and rescue as many kids as he could. He’d already seen one too-young dead body. He refused to stand by and let the crazy bunny lady get to another. For that, he needed to move fast. He couldn’t do that with tag-alongs.
Their little trio reached the ground floor without alerting anyone to their presence, which was all Gregory could have asked for. His eyes automatically scanned their immediate surroundings for a hiding place, even as he hurried them along to get out of the extremely exposed atrium.
Their luck ran out before they could find cover. He heard the heavy, clunking footsteps first, rushing closer. In addition to the character animatronics, the bunny lady had unleashed a horde of creepy endoskeletons to hunt her victims down.
There was something uniquely terrifying about the skeletal, wide-eyed robot bearing down on them. Its face was so blank, and unlike the band, they didn’t speak.
Gregory blew out a sharp breath and herded the girls toward the wall before going to meet the robot head-on. He freed his sole weapon from his makeshift belt holster: a crowbar, snatched from the construction area around the raceway.
The only silver lining with the robots was that they were dumber than a box of rocks. The endo just rushed for Gregory, not even trying to dodge when he wound up and swung. It might have looked intimidating with its wide shoulders and large hands, but there were so many delicate wires and moving parts exposed along its spine and clavicle.
The crowbar’s hooked end tore through a lot of that, leaving the endoskeleton twitching. He lashed out, kicking one of its ball-jointed knees backward. It collapsed sideways, sparks flying, and Gregory clubbed the back of its head until it had stopped moving.
Sliding the crowbar away, Gregory gave himself a little shake to loosen up his tense shoulders, then hurried back to the girls. They stared at him with wide, awed eyes,
“Whoa,” Jenna whispered.
“That was awesome!” Delaney whisper-shouted.
Gregory smiled weakly. “Thanks. Now, c’mon. We’ve gotta keep moving.”
They both nodded, and he was at least a little gratified that neither of them looked quite so scared. Dodging STAFF bots by the dozens, their progress was slow but steady. At Gregory’s direction, during their one close encounter, they scooted along the floor, hidden by a large walled planter, staying out of Chica’s sight.
It was the tensest game of hide and seek Gregory had ever played.
But at last, they slipped through the doors into the hall outside the daycare. The home stretch.
Just as Gregory carefully closed the doors, a child’s scream echoed through the pizzaplex. He froze, instinct tearing him in two. He wanted to rush out there and find and help whoever’d probably just been caught. But he couldn’t leave Jenna and Delaney behind, not when they were so close to being safe-ish.
Biting back curses, he took their hands and rushed them through the hall to the door to the actual daycare room.
“Are you gonna go save them?” Delaney asked. Jenna looked to be on the verge of tears again.
“I’m gonna do my best,” Gregory swore. “But I have to make sure you guys are okay first.”
Delaney nodded, and Jenna sniffled and asked, “Will you come back?”
She was too young for him to make a morbid joke that only death could keep him away. “Yeah,” he said. “I’ll come back, and I’ll bring more kids when I do.”
He hoped he wasn’t setting himself up to be a liar.
The daycare was still brightly lit, and Gregory rushed to the railing. “Cassie?” he hissed, loud as he dared.
“I’m here!” she called. “I’m in the play structure with Eclipse.”
He paused in his move toward the slide. “With who?”
Her shrug was audible. “Whatever I did to fix Sun and Moon brought out Eclipse. He’s nice, promise, and way more, uh, reasonable, I guess.”
Gregory ushered Jenna and Delaney down the slide. Eclipse, apparently, was waiting at the edge of the ball pit. “Welcome, welcome,” he said cheerfully, but Gregory could hear some well-hidden tension. As he gently lifted the girls out, he said to Gregory, “You must be Cassie’s friend! She’s told me a lot about you.”
Gregory leaned up over the ledge, waving at Cassie, who was indeed inside the play structure. Delaney led Jenna over to one of the ramps that would led up to her. It wasn’t a bad place to hide; she was easily out of sight of anyone who tried to scope out the daycare from the balcony.
He almost wished she could go with him. Cassie would be able to keep up with him and watch his back. Or, she would’ve been able to, if not for the broken leg the crazy lady had given her by dropping her down an elevator shaft.
“You’re not staying, are you?” Eclipse said.
Gregory dropped back into the ball pit, already sidling toward the slide to climb out. “There’s more kids out there,” he explained helplessly. “Someone’s got to help them.”
“You’re a kid, star-shine.”
Gregory pressed his lips together and didn’t say anything.
Eclipse sagged in place.
“Keep them safe,” Gregory demanded. “Lock the doors, don’t trust any adults until this place opens up in the morning.”
“No one will touch them,” Eclipse promised, hand over his heart, or where a heart would be. “I hope I see you again soon, Gregory.”
“Yeah,” he muttered, ducking into the slide and scrambling up it, sneakers squeaking. “Me too.”

Okay but if we consider pro heroes akin to pro athletes who all mostly retire by 40 bc they get put through the wringer physically……. silver fox retired Bakugo would absolutely be a househusband 🫣
tags ; gn!reader, househusband!bkg, there's a pretty big age gap but both characters are well into adulthood lol
swear we share braincells because this is genuinely the one scenario i can see househusband bkg to its fullest and most canon extent and GODDD it makes me crazy.
bakugou is a late bloomer when it comes to interpersonal relationships. he’s the word busy in human form. he spent his entire adult life on one long, strenuous path to number one and achieved what most people could only hope to do in 3 lifetimes. he has accolades, wealth, charity - and time has softened his public image to something of a lovable grump and less of a raging hot-head.
all that being said, there's very little in his life in the way of meaningful romantic partnerships. the number is closer to 0 than it is one, really. he's had feelings for people but not enough energy or time to make something of it. and he's good at repressing those feelings in the first place so they've never surfaced or blossomed. he didn't want them too.
after the war ended, there was more regulations with being a hero than before. mostly of social expectations. a documentary of allmights early life struck the public and it became custom to retire before 50 - or at least work significantly less. that, ontop of the sustained injury in his knees leaves bakugou retired in his early 40's.
and surprisingly, he wasn't as against as he thought he'd be. maybe he was just tired deep down, but more than that - he achieved what he wanted. he spent a long few years as number one and since then has gone back and forth with deku on the charts. he's done the only thing he really wanted, which was to have some sort of historic impact on the world like the hero admired so much.
and he achieve that before 50. so now he was retired. somehow it's anticlimatic.
after he's done, he can't find what else to do with his life. he does what anyone else who's retired to but he's still spry and healthy. he gardens. he cooks and cleans. he goes to film festivals and drinks with friends and rock-climbs and helps on cases. he lectures sometimes, when they want him somewhere and goes to some public events. he even volunteers. takes care of his friends kids all of which are teens now.
and all of that is fine, but he does miss the work. he misses feeling like he's needed somewhere instead of sitting on his hands all day.
bakugou meets you coincidentally. it's an informal meeting, and deku introduces you. just about how to handle his assets moving forward, you're some kind of finacial advisor.
you're in your mid 30s, professional and charismatic. it's very clear your good at your job, and bakugou likes competent people. one meeting turns into a few more less casual ones. becomes hang-outs, becomes drinks together and a dinner date and at some point he has to admit to himself.
for the first time, in his whole entire life, bakugou has feelings for someone in a completely viable way. he's a little weary about the age gap for a while, but you're both well into adulthood by now. and he probably needs to stop nit-picking whats maybe his last chance at a love life.
he gets over it, eventually. and finds himself in your company, learning about your life as an office worker. about you, and the smart way you talk and the way you soothe some of his growing pains. he's deeply in love before he has a chance to think twice.
you both shared two woes, the first one being a house too big and the second one being needs.
you needed to take better care of yourself. bakugou needed something to do that fulfilled this perpetual emptiness.
he wasn't trying to rush marriage. in fact, you brought it up first over dinner. he thinks that's a very you thing to do, in hindsight. it was an unromantic proposal to many - but the practical conversation was merely a reminder of all things bakugou adored about you to begin with.
it's weird, in a way. when he'd imagined his possible married life as a young hero - he thought it'd be inversed. he'd marry someone who he came home to.
but he's well into his mid-forties, with a ring on one-hand and a grey apron he wears around the house. he packs bentos and makes protein shakes, and even writes up a work-out routine that he explains carefully how to do it on your tight schedule. you have a career you'll probably do until you're retired.
and neither of you need the money. you could probably retire right now if you wanted to - but bakugou likes the way things have unfolded. he likes that you're busy (only sometimes). he likes being at home and looking after you like some mother hen and he likes that he's the person you kiss at the door every day before leaving and when you return.
he remembers wondering often why his dad was doing something like this when he was younger - but he finally starts to wrap his head around it in full. hairs starting to go grey, the lines in his face starting to show more.
he's just as happy being your househusband as he was when he's off fighting crime. and sometimes, he catches himself smiling about the way his life turned out.

I hope you have a lovely day with lots of snacks
Tl;dr the day was not lovely but there might be snacks
I actually didn't have many snacks today but I'm about to make up with it with a couple of churros and dark chocolate dipped strawberries.
Today I...woke up and showered and replied to comments on AO3 for a while, and then I spent about 4 hours formatting documents into PDFs of varying sizes for Patreon and Ream and uploading chapter commentaries into compilations. And then I did more formatting stuff behind the scenes while I stared at all the other behind the scenes stuff I need to do and thought 'writing is a hard job' quietly and intensely.
I ate lunch while I was working. I also made some memes about how overwhelmed I felt, and then made some for my readers too, lol.
And then I laid down for about 4 hours because I also have chronic illness (whee) and I am constantly in pain and varying degrees of fatigue and I literally must lie down every afternoon so I don't collapse in the evening (literally) - and I did a tiny bit of reading (webtoon: Shutline (which I immediately realised I'd read before and didn't fondly remember), webtoon: December (didn't mind this)) and then dozed restlessly because it was 40C/104F today. I also edited a Tiktok art video in Adobe Premier Rush, but I haven't put it up yet, and I should really do that.
Got up and made ham and cucumber sandwiches for dinner, and watched Girl with the Dogs on YouTube while I ate, and a Smosh video.
Then did some more work and helped a friend with her work stuff, and then I watered the garden for 1.5 hours because *points tiredly to the heatwave* and stared balefully at the dark sky (you can't water during the day - it's literally a heatwave but also it's illegal here to water during the day) with its few stars because they'd set up a severe weather warning due to extreme winds in our specific area and it was dead AF and oppressive out there and it was just hot instead.
I watched a few Tiktoks while I watered.
When I hung the hose up back on the holder thingo, I sang to my plants: 'I hope you make the best out of the water I just gave you, you little fucks' like a sweet lullaby, and a person who I didn't know was outside next door because it was like 9pm and pitch black laughed softly and sweetly, like they didn't expect it, and felt kind of fond. I didn't know I had any nice neighbours on that side of the house, so I mostly just thought 'WHOOPS SHIT' and then felt too embarrassed to say anything.
And then I came back inside and replied to some asks (hi!) and am hopefully going to eat churro's soon and it's 10pm and so I'm probably going to do some more work and then I'm going to go to bed while I feel stressed about the work I haven't done (currently Palmarosa is the heart beating beneath my floorboards). I will probably keep reading December. It's okayish.
I don't know if I'd call today lovely, because I'm burnt out and I want to put up the Christmas decorations but it's 10pm and idk if I should start that because it tends to make me severely ill to do it for a few days.
I'm a little sad, a lot lonely, a little melancholic, a little grumpy, and a little very excited about churros and chocolate dipped strawberries. I resent days that are 'work and sleep' sometimes, especially during November. That's my fault. That's on me. I'm a mean and shitty boss to myself.
Gotta do something about this burnout at some point, because December is the worst month for my PTSD, but I also need to keep getting paid, because medical bills and food and stuff. So like...finding the balance there is a constant work in progress.
There were some lovely moments today:
That little laugh from the neighbour in the dark
The first yellow peach of the season
Doing tricks with my cat (who is trained) for treats
Making silly little memes
Helping a friend with work stuff
Replying to some amazing comments
Watching cute dogs
Feeling pretty accomplished at putting up those compilations on Patreon/Ream even if I'm not done yet.
I hope you're having a lovely day too, anon, with many snacks.

Yo, I legit want to hear your data disk theory bc I was kinda thinking the same thing? Except I figured that if they really are magnetic hard disks then they'd be even more fragile than DVDs/CDs since even a stray magnet could screw up all the data? I am but a lowly software person so I don't exactly how storage mediums work all too much lol. Also, if the old world was really DA FUTURE(tm), wouldn't their computer storage be more in SSDs than HDDs? There might be an economic reason to stick with HDDs but if their computing tech was at the level of sentient AIs and stuff they hypothetically would have the faster, more compact storage in those...
Reminds me of the deep dive I did to figure why the hell telegraphs in the My Time world are called telegraphs if they're supposedly wireless (short answer: it's probably primitive radio? i have no idea how the hell transmissions can work at distances up to cross-country tho)
Oh boy, I'm so glad you asked! I've done IT infrastructure repair work for a couple years now, and my last job actually had me working with a lot of storage servers in particular for the latter half of my job, so I have Opinions(tm) on this small detail lol. And those are all really good questions too. And hopefully I don't get too technical trying to answer it, but I make no promises (and it's DEFINITELY going to be long and rambly so bear with me)
So starting with it being The Future(tm), there are pros and cons to going HDD versus SSD versus NVMe today, but did you know that not only is tape storage still in use, but it's actually still considered a modern, practical solution to archival storage with the technology still being upgraded and developed, even right now in 2023? Archival in this case being the sort of data you need to hold onto for 20, 30, 40 years or more without a constant need to have read/write access to that data. The tape servers have a cool robot arm in them and everything to move the tape cassettes around. A lot of this technology isn't actually aging out because it has its niche, it's just being modernized to settle it more in that niche
So with HDDs versus SSDs, they are becoming fairly comparable to each other today, HDD was winning out for a long time because SSD was a lot more expensive to get ahold of at the same storage capacity as HDD. That's great from a regular end-user perspective because you can get that upgrade more practically and reap the benefits of not having to rely on physical moving parts to access your data. Swapping it out on a server level is going to be a much larger and more expensive project, though, without seeing a lot of additional benefit for going that direction. A lot of the benefits that you would see for swapping to SSD on a regular computer have already been accounted for in existing server designs for a while now, in the form of RAID technology (Redundant Array of Independent/Inexpensive Disks; fancy way of saying "get a bunch of drives to take on the work of one drive and then replace any drives that break along the way"; being able to share the data load across multiple drives improves efficiency and then you can also replace broken disks on the fly without having to worry about the integrity of the overall storage system as long as you don't sit on too many dead disks for too long)
Not to say that SSDs won't still overtake HDD eventually, as new servers are installed in datacenters and closets, they're increasingly having SSD as the supported format, but there's not a good enough benefit to rush through fading out HDD at the moment when they're still about comparable to each other and the weaknesses have largely been accounted for. And even then, there are always going to be legacy servers that get passed up for upgrades either because nobody sees a need or it's too important to the overall infrastructure or any number of reasons, at which point they're still almost definitely going to be sticking with HDDs even in The Future
So that's the long-winded justification for why I think it's plausible that there would still be large enough quantities of HDDs kicking around even in the future for them to end up in ruins of that future
As for the justification of how you'd be able to get enough usable data off of them given the notorious fragility of those disks, I chalk it up to a matter of quantity. When I was installing brand-new storage servers for a customer, one drawer could hold up to around a hundred hard drives, and there were often four or five drawers slated for install with one server. If you figure that your average HDD has about three to six platters, multiply that by 100, and then multiply that by the drawers, and then the number of identical hardware setups that are also set up around it, and that number just keeps going up by orders of magnitude. Most of those platters are absolutely going to be shattered or wiped or otherwise damaged in a way that renders them useless, and the percentage that make it out in-tact enough is going to be very small. But if you take a very small percentage of the ridiculously large number of platters you can expect to find in a datacenter (even the smaller ones) is still going to give you the chance of finding enough usable platters that you can pull something off of them. Like, we're talking millions or billions of platters just in one place, if you take .01% or .001% or even .0001% of that kind of number as your chances of finding something in tact you're still looking at a fairly decent pool of workable salvage to sort through*
(*In theory, anyway; in practice, you usually need all the platters that are associated with an HDD to be able to put the data together into something usable given the way data's distributed across them...not that it's impossible to grab information off of a single platter but it would take A LOT of extra work to figure out how to reverse engineer it into working versus having the full set. It could still be possible but that factor drags the already small percentage down even further. But then, I would be surprised if Pathea has given it NEARLY as much thought as this, so after a certain point, there's kinda just the shrugging to say "video game logic" lol...but before reaching that point I'm going to have my fun spending way too much time trying to figure out how it *could* work)
With the quantity argument, as well, you're also way more likely to see that kind of overabundance of HDD than you would DVDs or CDs; DVDs just aren't scalable in the same way, both in terms of the amount of data they can store and the amount of read/write flexibility they have. You're also a lot less likely to find the sort of information on a DVD that you would find in a storage server; DVDs are more useful for executable programs than they are for data storage, and even that purpose is superceded by a usb thumb drive a lot of the time. There wouldn't be nearly as many to account for in an apocalypse situation and that means the statistics are going to hit them much harder
Anyway, yeah, that's my nerdy ass supposition for this headcanon, thanks again for giving me an excuse to ramble on about it and I hope it makes sense lol

Chapter Four
masterlist | Prev. Chapter 1 | Prev. Chapter 2 | Prev. Chapter 3 | Next Chapter 5  | ao3 | playlists (dabi & shigaraki)
Pairings: Shigaraki x f!reader x Dabi
A/N: Hello my friends! First of all, thank you for reading this far and I appreciate all the support :) Enjoy the 4th chapter! Also, FYI - I do have the ending planned out so I'm not writing the plot of the story as we go, but lets just say this is elevated porn with plot (sorry). I just enjoy writing action scenes... let me know if its not very entertaining and I can cut it back some.
Warnings: Specific to this chapter - blood, lots of blood, Sexual assault, angst, abuse (physical and emotional), possessiveness, slowburn progression, TW for Overhaul in general (Idk why I hate him lol)
Word Count: 7k
You left Dabi sleeping on the mattress as you quickly followed Shigaraki out of the garden shed, adjusting your T-shirt and smoothing out your hair. The last thing you wanted was to make him more annoyed with you. This walk of shame was going to suck. Shigaraki was standing next to his Nomu, facing the woods in the direction of the house, waiting for you as you dove beneath the same wooden panel as the previous night. Shigaraki was standing there with his arms crossed. You were embarrassed and concerned about his sudden stoicism. Your cheeks turned scarlet as you purposefully waited to speak first. Since you first saw him, months ago now, his light blue hair has gradually grown longer. Now it was almost past his shoulders and was blowing slightly in the wind. You really took in his looks under the morning sun, admiring how his arms looked in the black shirt he was wearing.
“Tch,” he begins without looking back at you, “you’re going to have to change before I hand you over.” He states this nonchalantly, his voice extremely monotone.
“I-I know. I’m sorry,” your voice cracks from using it for the first time that morning; suddenly very nervous to be in his presence, “I’ll be quick.”
“Good.” He left it at that before walking toward the house ahead of you, his nomu in tow.
Once you got back to the house, you quickly changed into your hero costume. Villain Costume? Oh, you didn’t even know anymore. There were still rips from where you were captured that night months ago. Eventually, you’ll have to consider getting a replacement or at least a patch up. You sighed heavily as you equipped your knives to your thighs. What even happened last night? You slept with Dabi; you remember now. Your face heats up thinking about his face in between your thighs. What does that mean for you? Did you like him? Did he like you? Suddenly, your brain goes back to your walk back to the house with Shigaraki. He didn’t say anything else to you. The tension was thick in the air. He didn’t even prepare you for your job with Overhaul, which seems like something he should’ve done. Or maybe you should’ve asked him. It’s too late now. You’ll just have to ask Toga.
A big, blacked-out van comes to pick you up, along with Toga and Twice. The two of them were giddy and happy about having a job that could finally contribute to the group. They spent the ride talking and playing rock, paper, scissors. You, however, were stuck in your head thinking about Dabi and how you didn’t say goodbye to him in your rush to chase after Shigaraki that morning. You hoped he would understand why you left so quickly. Heck, he’s a hot villain, so you were sure he probably slept with loads of girls in the past, and they were probably all one-night stands. He didn’t seem like the relationship type, and he definitely knew what he was doing in bed. The thought made your stomach sink—thinking about him sleeping with tons of other girls. With that, you pulled up to your destination and were pulled from your thoughts. Thank god.
As the three of you exited the van, you saw him. You didn’t even realize how much pent-up anger you still had for the man standing only a few feet in front of you now. Your brows furrowed in anger like those of an untrusting dog ready to attack. Twice felt your energy and put his arm in front of your body, prepared to hold you back if necessary. Overhaul was surrounded by his men, who were polished and wearing black suits and ties. They looked like hit men, and that's probably exactly what they did for work. “It’s okay, Y/N.” Twice whispered to try and console you. You hadn’t even noticed your knuckles whitening as you brought your hand down to one of your knives.
“Welcome, my League of Villains associates,” he started. His hands were behind his back, and he still spoke through that dumb fucking mask that he always wore. At least Shigaraki’s was scary. Overhaul’s just made him look like a tall, man bird. You truly hated him. He noticed right away that your hateful eyes were fixed on him. “Y/N, I hear you’re this group’s team leader.” He speaks directly to you now, a small smirk on his lips.
You had no clue what he was talking about considering Shigaraki didn’t really brief you that morning, but you weren’t going to let Overhaul get the upper hand here. “Yeah, I am,” you say, feeling the haste on your tongue as you suck in through your teeth.
“Good, follow me,” he turned away, signaling for you to follow him with the wave of his hand. “The other two can go with my men here.” You were suddenly worried and didn’t want to be separated from Toga and Twice. Overhaul was not someone you could see yourself ever trusting. It's a shame, but he got on your shit list the day he killed Magne. Twice pulled his arm away from you, and Toga shot you a sympathetic smile. You followed him inside, down an elevator, and through hallway after hallway. Left, right, and right again, you tried to remember your exit plan while he was leading you, but all the walls looked the same—gray, boring, and without windows since you were underground. Great.
You arrived at a room that had the appearance of a guest room. The bedsheets were done up like a hotel, and there was a small side table with a lamp next to it. A small TV sat in the corner of the room. The walls were just as gray in the room as they were in the hall. You frowned at the sight. “Is this where I’ll be staying?” You spoke up before Overhaul had the chance to even give you a tour of your home for the week.
“Yeah, it i-”
You cut him off once more: “Where are Toga and Twice going to be staying?” You interjected, crossing your arms and not giving a damn that he was still speaking.
“They’ll be in the two rooms next to yours.” He gestures to the rooms behind you with a tilt of his chin. You stay quiet this time. Not really having much else to say to him, hoping this conversation would be over soon. He pauses for a long moment, unsure if you were going to speak up again. He takes a moment to take you in. This was the closest he’s ever been to you. The girl who managed to make him bleed, he thought. What an interesting specimen you were. He thought you were pretty and had an aura that made you frightening. You were a mystery to him, and he wanted to know why Shigaraki wouldn’t exactly give you up as easily as he did the others.
“Are we done?” You interrupt his thoughts. Not sure why you’re still having this awkward conversation.
“You’re kind of feisty, aren’t you?” He chuckles softly. It was definitely not a noise you expected him to make.
“Only with people I have no interest in speaking with.” You crossed your arms this time; this action made his eyes fix on your side, and then his eyes slowly trailed down to your legs, examining your bodysuit. It was filled with holes and rips from your previous fights. He didn’t like how unkempt it was.
“I’ll have my team get you a new suit.” He ignores your previous comment. His eyes move back up to yours, and suddenly you feel small. You don’t let go of your false confidence, though, as he continues to stare you down. “Before we talk about why you’re here, are you hungry?” Now that you thought about it, you were starving. Shigaraki barely kept food on the table for the league; it was usually everyone for themselves, so you don’t remember the last time you had something to eat that wasn’t stolen. You must have lost about 10 pounds since joining the league. Actually, a lot of the members were kind of scrawny. This thought made you sad. All you could do was nod and Overhaul once again lead you through the hallways of the yakuza stronghold.
When you came across a small kitchen in one of the big rooms underground, you saw a few random men seated at one of the tables, but upon seeing Overhaul, they got up and left. He grabbed a sandwich from the fridge and handed it to you before grabbing a water bottle and leading you over to one of the tables. You both take a seat, and you are skeptical for a moment but reluctantly take the two items from him anyway.
“Why are you being so nice to me?” you ask while scarfing down the sandwich he gave you. Maybe you should be more worried about him possibly poisoning you, but you weren’t sure that you cared considering how good the sandwich was. Overhaul sat across from you and you shifted uncomfortably as the metal table touched your bare skin where the giant hole resided in your suit. He had taken off his mask and placed it on the table so that he could eat as well, and you still weren’t sure why he even wore the stupid thing. Maybe to keep up the scary morale? Who knows. He was kind of like Shigaraki, but they were more mirror images of each other. The opposite, if you will. It was kind of weird how you felt like you were having deja vu. Your eyebrows were still furrowed in anger. You were starting to think they would permanently be like that around him, although he was being nice for the time being. You still hated him, and before anything else, you didn’t trust him. “You should hate me like I hate you,” you added bluntly before taking another bite of your food.
“Why would I hate you?” He chuckled once more. This time you looked at him, and your brows softened ever so slightly. You could finally see his smile without his mask. Overhaul certainly wasn’t ugly. He would probably be classified as a pretty boy to other people. You feel like Toga might like him if she were here. He had dark and alluring eyes with long bottom and top eyelashes. He had a beauty mark under his eye that just added to his pretty features.
“Well, for starters, I did that to you.” You sat up a little and pointed with your sandwich at the big scar on his wrist; it had barely healed. You honestly weren’t even sure if he realized it was you who threw the knife at him. Everything happened so quickly that, for all you knew, he didn’t see who threw it.
“Yeah, you’re a pretty good shot,” he smiles lowly before looking up into your eyes through his lashes. He takes a bite of his food and doesn’t take his eyes off you.
“I don’t know about that; I was aiming for your head.” You looked away from him. A small smirk escapes your lips.
His expression was calm as he chuckled at your words again. A full-on smile was plastered on his face this time. What’s with this guy?
“I took your friend’s life and your other friend's arm,” he says casually, shifting the conversation back to a serious tone. The anger bubbles up in you once more as you remember that day. “I’m sorry.”
What? He’s apologizing? You admit that you did not see that coming. Was he just trying to get on your good side? Was he trying to recruit you? Something felt off. You still didn’t trust him.
“Don’t get it twisted. I am still going to kill you if I get the chance.” You frown. “For Magne,” you state coldly.
His expression doesn’t falter. Instead, he shifts in his seat to put his hands under his chin, resting his elbows on the table. He understands that your relationship wasn’t going to heal in a day.
“You work for me now,” he pauses. “Well, for this week at least. Unless I can convince Shigaraki to fully hand you over to me.” He starts speaking business, and your ears perk up. “I don’t know if that will ever happen, though; you’re very special to him.” You freeze at his words. Why? Special? After a moment, you realize he probably meant because of your quirk. That had to be it, right? He continues, “We received intel that it's possible that at some point this week the hero society will try to infiltrate our base,” your eyes widen.
“W-What? Is that why we’re here? Does Shigaraki know?” Your voice betraying you and coming out a bit strange as you speak through your anxiety. That meant that you might see some of your old hero friends. You were not ready for this at all.
“Hey, don’t worry. I’m not planning on having you on the battle front. Your sole responsibility is to heal my men if they are injured in the fight.” He notices the concern in your face and says, “Plus, this is a stronghold; we’ve held up down here for almost a century.” His words console you. You take a deep breath in.
“Okay,” you reply with more certainty in your voice this time. You want to ask him why they don’t relocate, but remember quickly that he said they’ve been down there for almost a century. You didn’t really think to ask what the Hassaikai did for the hero society to try to infiltrate them. You’ll come to realize that you wish you had asked. “And for the record, Shigaraki doesn’t own me. I can make my own decisions about who I work for.” Overhaul smiles at your sudden blurt.
The next morning, you stirred awake with wide eyes at the realization that someone's arms were wrapped around your waist. Their face was plastered to your back, and they were snoring softly. You almost panicked before you looked down and saw Toga's delicate fingers holding on to your shirt. She was such a sweetheart; you had grown to love her like a sister these past few months. You suddenly hear more snoring coming from your floor; this time it sounded more manly. You slowly roll toward the edge of the bed and see Twice laying on the floor with a pillow and a blanket. His face was half-wrapped with a piece of silk, and his blonde hair was messily sprawled on the pillow. Cute. Overhaul’s men had given you each a set of dark gray scrubs to sleep in, so you were all matching. It almost felt like you were in jail, but you admit it felt good to eat real food and sleep in a real bed for once. It was cute that the two other members didn’t want to sleep alone. You didn’t blame them at all.
Toga had started to wake up, and you felt bad for moving around so much. You turned toward her and rubbed a small circle on her cheek and whispered, “Go back to sleep; it’s okay.” She nodded with her eyes closed and turned over in bed. The league really was like the family you never had. As you got out of bed, you quietly stepped over Twice and walked out of the room. To your surprise, one of Overhaul's men was posted just outside and turned to look at you as you jumped a little. It's good to know he didn’t trust you either.
“I have instructions to bring you to the boss once you’re awake.” You groan, already irritated. He had a mask on that was similar to Overhaul’s and carried a machine gun in his arms. Did he really think you guys were that dangerous?
“What time is it anyway?” you ask the masked stranger as he radios his replacement. Another masked man comes running down the hall to stand guard over Toga and Twice. If you had known this would be a whole thing, you would’ve just woken them up too.
“It’s almost 5 a.m.,” he answered gruffly.
“Is Overhaul even awake yet?” Your eyebrows raised; you were a little confused by all this but followed the man anyways.
“Guess we’ll see, won’t we?”
You follow the man down some halls to the elevator that brought you down before. He swiped his keycard and clicked level 5. You noticed you were on level 7 currently. Damn, you suddenly remembered just how deep underground you were. The thought makes you nauseous. You walk down the hall and see a few other men wearing the same uniform as your guide. All of them have guns. It felt darker on this floor for some reason. The walls must be a darker shade of gray. Once you arrive at what you assume is where Overhaul is, you watch as your guide whispers something to the two men posted outside the door and then brings his arm up to lightly knock on the double doors. You hear something inside and then a “Come in.”
Your guide pushes you inside and closes the door behind you. Okay? Rude. You look around the room, but it's pretty dark, so you can only make out shapes that resemble a bedroom with lots of furniture. Suddenly, the room is illuminated with the sound of a clap that makes you jump a little. It was still kind of dark; only the corners of the room were lit up with a comfortable, warm light. You let your eyes adjust and looked around you. The room was massive and filled with furniture that you only saw in the homes of top heroes. There was a fireplace to the left, along with a huge shag rug. To your right was a kitchen and living room combo with marbled countertops and a massive flat screen that came out of the wall. The couch looked like a cloud and was big, white, and fluffy. On top of that, everything was pristine. The floors were marbled black and looked like they had never seen a speck of dust. You allowed your wanderlust to get the best of you, and your eyes snapped back to the center of the room, where you noticed an all-black king bed with silk sheets and a beautiful stone backwall. On the bed was Overhaul, who sat up leaning on one of his hands while the other rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. He was shirtless, and the silk sheets fell to his hips. You were suddenly embarrassed and didn’t expect him to be so ripped. His night sweat was glistening in between his pecs. You diverted your eyes and placed your arms behind your back, feeling awkward. A sudden redness made its way to your cheeks; you weren’t sure how to feel in this moment. Instead of the anger that usually spreads across your face when in his presence, this time you had a look of shock and nervousness.
“I’ll be honest, I didn’t expect you to be up so early; maybe I should’ve told my men to just make you go back to sleep instead of bringing you here.” His morning voice is deep and raspy, making you squirm even more.
“I-I’m sorry, I can go,” you start towards the door. Your voice is small and far.
“No, it’s okay,” he starts, uncovering himself as he gets out of bed. “You’re already here; we can start the day.” He stands up and stretches, showing off more of his body unintentionally. His pants were dangerously low, and you couldn’t help but stare at him. Damn it. He sucks. You can’t be thinking about him like that.
“Um, okay, sure,” your voice cracks slightly.
“I actually have something for you,” he walks over to his kitchen as your eyes follow him. His back is equally toned. You have got to pull it together. “Here, I had them rush this, and we got lucky; they had one already in the warehouse."  "I hope it fits.” You walk over to him and grab the piece of clothing from his hands. You backed away, nervous to be this close to him.
“A new suit?” You look at the fabric in your hands. It felt very similar to your old one but was made with better quality material. It was also… “Purple?” you ask bluntly. A dark lavender, from what you could tell, which wasn't the color of your old hero suit but you didn’t mind it. Maybe it was time to retire it anyway. You weren’t a hero anymore.
“Yeah, thats kind of my color,” he rubs the back of his neck. “I thought it’d look good on you,” he yawns. You remember his jacket that had the purple ruffles. Great. You’ll be matching with the guy you hate most. You roll your eyes internally.
“Cool,” you say as you tuck the suit under your arm.
“Do you want to head back down and wake the others?”
“Sure.”
Overhaul walks you out of his room, and the man who was your guide earlier walks you back to your room. Toga and Twice were still sleeping, so you lightly tapped on their foreheads to wake them up. Once they were awake, you were brought to the showers and got ready for the day. You sighed as you rubbed the fabric of the suit between your fingers. This felt significant somehow, like you were officially packing up your old life and starting a new one. You pull on the suit; this one zips in the front and buttons at the top of your neck, allowing you to control how much clevage you wanted to show, which was nice. You decided not to show any. Overall, it fit well; it was a little tight in the ass area, but that was okay. Lastly, you put on your black combat boots as well as your thigh holster for your throwing knives. Overhaul made sure the suit was fingerless so that you could still activate your quirk easily. He also gave you a waist pack that matched your boots. It was filled with medical equipment, and there was even a secret compartment in the back that was a holster for a butterfly knife, which he gifted you a purple one to match. You wore it on the back side so that it was out of the way and you could easily grab the butterfly knife handle if you needed it. You looked in the mirror; your hair was still dripping wet. You put a black mask around your ears to become one of the hassaikai and noticed a small hickey on your neck below your right ear that was quickly fading, and it made you think about Dabi. You wondered what he was doing right now and if he even missed you. You couldn’t decipher how you were feeling but had a twinge of guilt thinking about Overhaul. You drain the water from your hair and braid it back in pigtails. You took one last look at the new you, feeling confident and ready.
The week was almost over. Tomorrow was your last day at the stronghold. Thank god. You couldn't really take any more little awkward moments with Overhaul. He was starting to grow on you, and you hated that. You, of course, still didn’t trust him, but it was nice to have someone to talk to while you were there. Toga and Twice didn’t really have much to say. Their loyalty was with Shigaraki, so they only did what they were told in front of Overhaul, and Overhaul was always next to you. You suppose your loyalty was with Shigaraki as well. Deep down, you knew you were loyal to him, but you weren’t really sure why. The week had been so slow that it was driving you mad. Overhaul manned both Toga and Twice at the front of the stronghold elevators, and there was a barrier of his men between you and them. They were on the front lines, which made you nervous, but as the week went on, your anxiety dissipated, and you felt like the attack would never come. Overhaul kept you with him in a huge room at the back end of floor five. You were sitting next to him, fidgeting with your nails, when you heard a sudden boom come from a couple levels up. It shook the entire room and made the dust shake off the walls. That can’t be good. Suddenly, Overhaul’s radio went off, and one of his men could be heard yelling on the comms, “They’re here! Everyone, the heroes are here! They—” and the room was met with radio silence. You looked over at Overhaul, who was surprisingly calm.
“What should I do?” You looked to him for orders, your face drowning in worry. He stayed quiet as he began zoning out. He stood up and placed his hands in his pockets. You were confused.
“Come with me,” he signaled you to follow him, and so you did.
As you followed him down the hallway, the rumbling of the building worsened, and you could hear screaming from the upper levels. Overhaul was walking fast, and you were trying to keep up with him.
“Hey! Stop!” You heard a man's voice from down the hall. What? Are they down here already? No way. Your eyes widened as you turned around to look at who the voice belonged to. You were closer to him, and Overhaul stood behind you. Your eyes met a blonde man who looked to be only a few years younger than you. He was built like Allmight, and his eyes were dark blue. He had on his hero costume, which was yellow and white with a red cape. Across his chest was the number 1,000,000. Your mind went blank as you started to recognize him; you couldn’t quite place his name, though. You just remembered that he was a student at U.A. High. Once his eyes locked on yours, you could tell he was also trying to piece together how he knew you.
“Lady Medela? You’re working with these people?” He finally recognizes you, and his voice comes out strained. You don’t answer, and so he continues, “You’re on the missing persons list, ya know? Are you in trouble?” He sucks in through his teeth, anger overwhelming him once more. He diverts his eyes back to Overhaul, who is just standing behind you with his hands in his pockets. You are silent, but your eyes show that you’re in pain and confused by his words. You remember your life before, but now that you were actually face to face with a hero, you were tempted to run to him and let him save you from all this. The hero in front of you drops his head and his voice cracks; he’s on the verge of tears as he says this: “Did you know he’s keeping a little girl here that he’s torturing and using as a weapon?” He looks back at you through angry eyes now. He was still holding onto the hope that you weren’t working with Overhaul.
“What? Is that true?” The heroes' words cause you to turn around and face Overhaul now. Your furious, angry face returns, along with all the hatred you’ve harbored for him. You drop every ounce of whatever it was you felt with him to resort back to anger. You slowly reach for your butterfly knife, but it all happened so fast. Overhaul quickly overpowers you and puts his hand around your neck, locking you in a chokehold. The hero, a couple of feet away, tries to run after you when a crashing noise is met with one of Overhaul's men falling through the floor, blocking you from the young hero. His men immediately start fighting with him, drowning out your need for rescue.
“C’mon, how about I take you to her?” Overhaul’s voice is suddenly sinister, and you can feel your heart beat in your temples as the blood rushes to your head, depriving you of oxygen. He turns down the hall with his arm still around your throat. He throws you up against a wall, and he pulls down your mask to rub his finger over your lips roughly. He then kisses you aggressively and bites your lip hard enough to make you bleed. You whimper in pain, and he pulls away, adding, “You can finally meet my daughter.” He lets go of your neck to shift you in front of him, and as you’re gasping for air, you see him swing back his fist to punch you in the face, knocking you out.
---
You’re not sure how long it's been, but you wake up in a dark room with a throbbing headache. There is a little girl sitting over you, shaking you awake with tears in her eyes. She’s terrified and saying something, but you can’t hear her. She looks to be about seven or eight years old and has long, blueish gray hair, red eyes, and a little horn on the side of her forehead. If you didn’t know any better, you would think she was related to Shigaraki. You put two and two together and knew she had to be Overhaul’s daughter. That son of a bitch, he punched you! You get up quickly and reach for the throbbing part of your skull.
“Don’t move so fast, you’ll hurt yourself!” The little girl warns you; her voice is small and sweet.
“It’s okay; I’m okay.” You send her a small smile. You curse yourself for not knowing she was here the whole time you were here. You take in her appearance, and shes in a hospital gown covered in bandages. Overhaul is going to pay for this. “Now, how about you and I get out of here, huh?” She looks at you with barely any hope in her eyes but nods to your statement. Poor girl. “My name is Y/N. What’s yours?” you ask, trying to get her to talk again.
“Eri,” she responds in a soft voice that breaks your heart.
“Okay, Eri, I’m going to heal my headache enough to have the energy to get us out of here.” She nods, and you activate your quirk just enough to make the throbbing go away. You then pick her up and carry her on your back. She snuggles into your shoulder blades, and you start walking towards the door. The medical room was dark, and the only light was coming from a small window in the steel door. You try kicking the door, but have no luck. You then step back and take a deep breath before cracking your knuckles. “Cover your eyes and ears if you can.” You warn her before slamming your fist into the window. Nothing happens at first, so you put more force into the second punch, causing it to shatter. Your fist is immediately covered in blood and glass. You pull a large shard out of your knuckle, hissing at the pain. Once you’re clear, you reach through the window and unlock the door, cutting up your forearm in the process. There is blood everywhere, and you think you might pass out, but you stay strong for Eri. On the other side of the door, you activate your quirk for a second time, which is enough to stop the bleeding in both places, but because of your head injury, you’re unable to heal fully. You look around both halls and don’t see anyone. It’s quiet. You decide to head toward the emergency stairwell, and you take off, shifting Eri into a more comfortable position. “Okay, up we go. You ready?” You communicate with her so shes not scared. She just nods into your shoulder blades, and you take off running down the hall.
You and Eri make your way up five flights of stairs, and you’re in pain and out of breath. You try to hold yourself together and remind yourself that there are only two more flights of stairs left. The building was still shaking from all the fighting, so you held on to the rails for dear life. Once you made it to stairwell level-two, you started quickening your pace. You were almost out when suddenly the stairs from level-one started collapsing, and your eyes widened in fear of being crushed. You spun around and dove through the level-two door that brought you back into the halls. Eri asked if you were okay while you were on your hands and knees struggling to breathe. You just patted her leg in response and tried to get up and stand. You struggled for a moment and finally got back up on your feet. You had no choice but to walk the halls now, and you had no clue if you would run into heroes or Hassaikai members. You took it with a grain of salt and continued on, hoping for the best. After walking for a few minutes, you heard loud rumbling once more, and it sounded very close to you. There was a room up ahead that had been blown up, and a lot of the load-bearing walls were about to give. As you got closer, you noticed it was a small warehouse, and there were people fighting inside. You kept your distance, approached the area quietly, and stayed low to the ground, hoping the people fighting wouldn’t notice you. There he was: Overhaul. He was fighting someone. You ran to a closer wall that could give you a better glimpse of the battle. He was fighting the blonde hero from earlier along with another familiar hero, a small man who had on a green hero suit paired with red shoes. Suddenly, Overhaul sent concrete spikes up from the ground to try and hit both of the heroes. You froze for a second in shock when you felt something impale your leg. After a moment, you felt cold, and when you looked down, you saw one of the spikes sticking out of your calf. You dropped to your knees once he released the spikes, sending them back into the ground. A bloodcurdling scream came from your lungs, and then it felt like the fighting halted when all three men looked over at you. Instead of looking at them, you kept your focus on your leg. Your face was contorted in pain, and you immediately broke out in a sweat. The spike had ripped your muscles to shreds. The two heroes noticed Eri on your back and decided to fall back to where you were. Overhaul noticed you and his daughter, and that both heroes were trying to make their way to you. He wasn’t going to have that. He shot off more concrete blasts, but the smaller hero was faster; he noticed this, and his fist met Overhaul’s face. He kept hitting him over and over, not allowing him access to you. The blonde hero used the distracted Overhaul to fall through the floor and appear again next to you. He took Eri from your back and attempted to help you.
“Can you stand?” He reaches his hand out to you and tries to help you up.
“I-I need-d to fix my leg first,” you struggle to reply through your broken sobs, the pain causing you to go in and out of consciousness. You weren’t even sure if you could activate your quirk in this state or if you had the energy to heal yourself. Your hair began to float slightly, and your pupils flickered into white glowing orbs. When you grabbed your calf, the hole in your leg slowly began repairing the muscle, stitching itself back together again. You’ve lost too much blood at this point, and your head injury was bad, so you were only able to heal it enough to fix the muscle. The wound was still big and bloody, but you couldn’t keep going, you had no more energy left. The room began to spin, and you knew you were about to pass out. Before you did, you looked over at the blonde hero and grabbed his hand.
“M-Make sure you get Eri somewhere safe.” He nodded and started saying something about how he was going to make sure you got out of here too, but his words fell on deaf ears. You were already out of it; you fell backwards, and the hero made sure to catch you enough before laying you down softly on the concrete floor. He escaped with Eri, leaving the fight to the other hero. Once the battle ended, Overhaul was arrested, and the search crew began going floor by floor, recovering bodies and the injured. You were unconscious when someone picked you up off the floor, bridal style.
---
“She’s still feverish, but I think she’s finally waking up,” You hear a familiar voice in your vicinity. A hand comes to rest on your forehead to feel your fever. There were muffled voices in the background, but you couldn’t quite make them out. “Hey, Y/N, it’s us; you’re okay.” Her voice was calm and eased you. It was Toga’s voice; you’d recognize it anywhere.
“W-What happened?” You finally go to sit up and once again grab your aching skull. You look down at your body and see that you were still in your bodysuit, which is ripped at your leg. It looked like someone cut the fabric to be able to apply bandages to your wound. You remember what happened now. “Where is Overhaul?” You grumbled angrily, more angry than the League has ever seen you.
“He was arrested.” Twice replied. You follow his voice with your eyes and see the rest of the league gathered around you. They had stationed you on the kitchen table and used towels, blankets, and anything else they could find as padding for a makeshift hospital bed. You were in the hideout, and by the looks of it, it was evening. There were candles all over the kitchen, and everyone's faces looked warm under the candlelight.
“How did I get out?” You asked, not remembering anything.
“Toga and I found you covered in ruble, and we snuck you out.” Twice answered once more. You looked around the kitchen again and saw both Shigaraki and Dabi on the other side of the room, standing in the shadows. Shigaraki was maskless and emotionless. Dabi, on the other hand, looked angry and upset. They were both not looking in your direction. Toga, Twice, Spinner, and Mr. Compress were surrounding you, making sure you were okay.
“Y/N, what happened with Overhaul?” Spinner chimed in.
“I’m going to kill him,” you hissed while wiping your mouth, remembering how he kissed you and violated you. Your hatred for the man was spewing all over your words. The league looked at you in surprise. Shigaraki’s ears perked up at this and he finally looked over at you. It was odd for him to see you, nothing but a little hero, threaten to kill someone. He wasn’t sure how to feel about it, but he knew that whatever Overhaul did to you must’ve been bad for you to want to kill him. Shigaraki suddenly felt angry at Overhaul, his thoughts immediately going to the worst possibility. If he hurt you, he’d kill him for you. You wouldn’t even have to lift a finger. You went on to explain everything to the league. Most of them had the same reaction—disgust written all over their faces. When you finished explaining, you looked up at Shigaraki, and he was already looking at you. His face showed no emotion—no anger, no sympathy. You wanted to know what he was thinking. After all, this was his whole gig. You were there because of him. Before you could say anything to him, he called out to Dabi, Spinner, and Mr. Compress, telling them to come with him.
“Toga, Twice, stay here and hold things down; we’ll be back,” Shigaraki hissed out. You laid your head back on the table; you were still exhausted and needed to rest.
“We’re going to fuck him up, aren’t we?” Dabi turned to walk next to Shigaraki with his hands in his pockets. He smiled evilly, hoping thats what they were going to do for your sake. Dabi wanted to stay back with you, but an order is an order.
“He’ll never be able to touch her again.” Shigaraki growls while walking ahead of the men; his face was calm, but there was a storm inside him. Your anger toward Overhaul has transferred itself to Shigaraki.
---
It was becoming daylight, and Spinner, Dabi, Mr. Compress, and Shigaraki were all in a truck traveling along the highway in route to Tartarus from the hospital that Overhaul was rumored to be at. They had circled back around a few times before they saw their target. A black van with red lights drove onto the ramp of the highway, and Shigaraki signaled to Spinner to get in front of them. Spinner obliged and drove the truck to line up with the van behind them. The back doors of the truck opened, and Dabi released a giant blue flame toward the van. It was as if they had anticipated an attack. Dabi’s flames were met with a sand cloud, and a separate police vehicle drove in front of the black van to protect it. Shigaraki had climbed to the top of the truck and waited for the heroes to show themselves. He jumped off the back of the truck and toward the police car. The sand hero put up a wall of sand that Shigaraki struggled against. Mr. Compass then released a marble that made the police car flip over. Dabi then jumped out of the back of the truck and stopped the sand hero freeing Shigaraki. The van itself was then stopped by Shigaraki’s decay; he broke the windshield of the car and caused the driver to drive the van into a wall. Shigaraki walked to the back of the van and ripped Overhaul out. He was strapped to a foam pad, handcuffed, and wearing a straight jacket. Overhaul caught a glimpse of Shigaraki standing over him, and his eyes widened in fear. Shigaraki was covered in his usual villain attire and had his hands in his pockets while his foot rested on Overhaul’s chest.
“Are you here to kill me?” Overhaul whimpers.
“No, I wouldn’t take that away from Y/N,” Shigaraki chuckles. “She wants you dead,” He leans closer to Overhaul to whisper, “I’m just here to make you pay for what you did.” Shigaraki grabs one of Overhaul’s arms and dusts it. Before it can spread to the rest of his body, Shigaraki takes a knife and cuts it off. Overhaul wails in pain, and Shigaraki calmly says, “This one is for Magne and Compress.” He then shifts his body to Overhaul’s other arm and does the same. Overhaul screams once more, and Shigaraki replies to this with, “And this arm, this arm, if for laying your hands on Y/N. I told you she was mine.” Feeling content with his actions, Shigaraki walks back to the truck with his hands in his pockets.
Dabi listened to his boss's words to Overhaul and got slightly worried when he heard Shigaraki’s possessiveness toward you. Shigaraki knows that you and Dabi slept together, so why hasn’t he removed Dabi’s arms if he truly felt that way?
One thing was for certain: Dabi didn’t want to find out.

It's just like your brother to leave you to fend for yourself.
You had made Joshua swear up and down to you in person that he would never leave the quaint coffee shop he'd opened last year near the local campus unattended and unsupervised. You'd collected written assurance that he would give you fair warning if he needed your assistance. All you'd asked was at least a week's notice. You were a busy person!
Seungkwan would never let Joshua do you dirty like this. But your best friend was in Jeju now, as he always was during this time of year to see family. Meaning there would be no one to operate the coffee shop during its busiest season, the second month of the fall semester.
Joshua knew this. Seungkwan's been the 'best' to your 'friend' for decades.
One to two people was enough to keep disgruntled students and surly professors semi-satisfied with their daily (or hourly) orders of much-needed caffeine. Joshua was always in the back, filling in between Seungkwan's generous shift hours or whenever it got busy — or at least that's where he was supposed to be.
Right now, Joshua must be enjoying himself on the white sands of some remote beach. Watching the sun sparkle across aqua blue waves as the tide rushes in to kiss his toes, sea breeze whipping back the black locks of his hair, one arm wrapped snugly around the shoulders of his partner.
You're happy for him. Truly. You did not want him to feel any bad vibes on his special vacation.
Still — that didn't eliminate the fact that you hoped he would stub his toe on a rock as you glare at his sloppy, scribbled signature on the written agreement that ended up doing you no good.
You're well aware that he and his significant other had decided on a small, private wedding. You were the one who happily lent your assistance in helping them prepare it. The celebration was quiet and tiny in contrast to the radiant display of love and affection they had toward one another. A reason why they had been debating on whether or not they would go somewhere extravagant instead for their honeymoon.
You slam a glass a little too harshly on the counter. Of course, you'd advocated that they should! Duh! You just didn't think Joshua would send a lame text message, having already booked a flight and halfway out of the country by the time you read it in the morning. That was Joshua's escape mechanism to avoid the wrath of your anger as you scrambled to get to the coffee shop and open it before the regulars in a more foul mood than you decided to riot.
Smart and stupid.
AKA Joshua Hong, your beloved brother.
The door to the storage room bangs open and you hear a worried gasp of your name before two hands are wrapping around your own, trying to gently pry your fingers from around the glass. You let out an angry huff of air that causes your hair to fly up but release the death grip on the glass and let yourself be fussed over.
"I thought you had broken something!"
"What, like you do?"
It's fascinating to watch the blush creep up along Seokmin's neck to his ears and finally color the roundness of his cheeks. The soft trace of his fingers over yours intently checking for any signs of injury is equally as heartwarming as him trying to defend himself.
"That… that was… an accident."
You raise an eyebrow. "Are you saying I was trying to break something on purpose?"
"N-no! I was just worried you might've hurt yourself."
"I'm fine and so is this glass. Now get back to what you were doing, our afternoon rush will be hitting soon."
Like a scolded puppy, you can practically see figurative dog ears drooping as Seokmin hunches his broad shoulders and slinks back to the storage room. Despite being thousands of miles away, Seungkwan pulled through with helpful information that he knew someone who was looking for a part-time job. Of course, your best friend who was a reliable worker fully understood additional assistance was needed during the month and a half that Joshua was gone. Unfortunately, he had underestimated just how clumsy Seokmin was.
Although he was sweet and ready to learn immediately upon being hired, you swear it only added more work to your plate to train him. It also didn't help that his charming good looks caused an influx of customers to flock to the shop, very unsubtly to steal glances and shoot their shots with the new barista. Even you could admit that watching Seokmin's arms flex as he operated the large coffee machines, the bright sparkle in his eyes that matched his brilliant smile, and his shy but endearing nature were all very healing for the soul.
But you were also a witness to the horrifying scene of him almost breaking the great coffee contraption that cost nearly triple the amount that students paid for tuition at the campus. If you had been a cat, all your fur would've been poofed out when you hissed in shock at the unnaturally loud clank that echoed over the calm background music when he'd pushed down a lever too hard.
The future flashed before your eyes at that moment.
A furious, caffeine-deprived mob banging outside your door. Seungkwan complaining about his puffy face after crying for weeks. A perplexed Joshua divorced merely a month after marriage because now he's swimming in debt. Loan sharks dirtying your name and preventing you from ever getting a new job to pay for repairs and all other extraneous bills. You and Joshua are homeless, branded as criminals on the run.
Okay, maybe that was a little dramatic.
But you've poured a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and money into this place and that darn machine — none of which you technically even own. It's your brother's pride and joy just as much as it became yours, a comforting place to visit on your days off that you are more than happy to assist when it all comes down to it.
Even now, you're eyeing Seokmin suspiciously as he very gently lowers the lever to start the process and shoots you a sheepish smile. Everything turned out alright in the end. But you had to spend an extra two hours last week examining the components closely with your new hire cringing but giving you pouty, pleading gazes in the hopes that you wouldn't fire him on the spot.
Of course, you didn't. You even brewed him your signature blend to ensure that the machine was operating as it should and as additional compensation for the extra time he stayed. Plus, you needed his help. Whether you liked him or not.
You did like him, though.
"Um, can you help me finish this latte?"
You jump. Lost in your thoughts, you're unaware of Seokmin's sudden presence as he whispers in your ear, minty breath warm as it fans against the side of your face.
"Uh, yeah. Sure."
Even though he did things like this, yes. You somehow still really did like Seokmin.
He's good at acting oblivious to the curious, questioning stares of the customers waiting at the counter and you do your best to ignore them as well. Peeking over his shoulder, you talk him through it as your nervous system relaxes because of the refreshing scent that surrounds him.
You don't know how to describe it but Seokmin smells like sunshine. Maybe because he is the sun itself.
"And you know what's next?"
"Wait, don't tell me." His eyebrows scrunch as he closes his eyes in thought, mumbling what he's already done to remind himself.
"You've added almost all of the ingredients."
"Right. Cinnamon, vanilla extract, syrup… the coffee of course. Uh…"
"Milk."
"Yes," he puts down a finger as he counts, "the milk… Oh! The milk!" Smacking his forehead lightly, he grabs one of the containers that he'd frothed a portion of the milk in earlier. "Duh, how could I forget that again?"
"You're doing better each time."
You're taken aback when you pat him encouragingly and he turns, not even flinching at how close his face is to yours. "All thanks to you."
You blanch at his sparkly, grateful eyes and quickly shuffle to the counter. The woman waiting for her order is giggling as you approach and you choose to ignore it.
"Would you like whipped cream?"
"I do like sweet things," she slyly says and takes it from your grasp, laser-focused on the man behind you. "Care to top me off, Sugar?"
You follow her expectant gaze only to find Seokmin not even paying attention. His back is turned and he's humming happily to himself as he cleans up the used utensils and straightens the dishes.
"Um… excuse me, darling?"
"I think she wants whipped cream," you say. Or something… someone… else runs across your mind only to blink when the tube is dangled in front of your face. "Huh?"
"Said you needed it, right?" Seokmin waves it back and forth until you take it from him and goes right back to what he was doing with a bounce in his step. "Let me know if I can grab anything else for you!"
The woman is boring holes into the side of your head as you stare at his back flabbergasted for a few seconds before snapping out of it. Meeting her narrowed eyes, you put on your best customer service smile and squeeze the whipped cream dispenser to top off her latte.
"Could I get you anythi — "
"Hah! No. Thank. You."
She flounces out as if she's a damaged diva not even waiting for you to finish and you shrug, wiping up the wasted drops of liquid heavy cream. Losing a customer who has a bad attitude is no skin off your back.
"What was her issue? She was kinda rude."
"And here I thought you weren't paying attention."
"Of course I was. She asked for whipped cream, she got whipped cream. No reason to cut you off like that when she got what she wanted."
"But she didn't."
"What?"
You turn around with a knowing smirk and lean against the counter when Seokmin tilts his head in confusion. "She didn't get your attention."
He rolls his eyes. "That's ridiculous."
"Are you single?"
"Uh… wh-why do you ask?"
It's amusing how his demeanor changes so quickly, once again flustered after being snarky for merely two seconds.
"Sorry, I'm not trying to pry. You don't have to tell me, what I mean is that, if you are single it's okay if you wish to spark a connection with a customer. Nobody's going to fire you for that, we're chill about it. That's how my brother met his partner after all."
"I… I don't — "
"I'm not saying you have to, like if you already have someone special you're also free to invite them over if you want 'cause you know Kwannie does that all — "
"I'm single!"
You blink at his abrupt outburst. "Okay. I wanted to make sure you're comfortable here. As long as you don't break my coffee machine, you can do what you want."
"I just," he runs a hand through his hair, "it's… it's nothing you have to worry about."
Seokmin looks so devastatingly serious — almost upset — that your body moves before you realize it, playfully dispensing a dollop of whipped cream on the tip of his nose. It's comical how his eyes cross in confusion to stare at it in utter astonishment that you can't help but let out a tiny snort.
He recovers from the shock faster than you think. Thumb scooping the cream off with lightning speed before he cradles your cheek and chin, smearing it across your bottom lip with a gentle swipe.
You've heard detailed stories from your friends, and even sickenly from your brother, about the legendary sparks that fly in moments with someone you deem special. But no one ever talks about the absolute stillness. How everything seems to fade away and it feels like it's just you and Seokmin in the world. In that moment.
Staring into his warm, dark-brown eyes that hold galaxies. Holding your breath when his gaze drifts down to watch how your tongue pokes out to lick up a tiny bit of the whipped cream. Right where his thumb hovers above your lips. How his eyes dart back up to yours, leaning in just a smidgeon before the sound of someone irritably clearing their throat shatters the spell.
"How quaint."
You leap away from Seokmin's grasp, scowling at the new arrival who lazily adjusts his barely-tied tie, only causing it to look messier. Yet, it somehow makes the local populace drool over him even more.
"Yoon Jeonghan."
He laughs at the way you hiss his name, unfazed by your venomous tone. "That's now Professor Yoon to you, sweetcheeks."
"Gross. I doubt any students can take you seriously."
"Does Shua know his sibling isn't looking after the shop and customers but flirt — "
"Josh knows his place is well taken care of because I'm here, isn't that why you told him to take off?" You interrupt with a pointed tone, raising your eyebrows. "What do you want, the usual?"
Jeonghan rolls his eyes. "You're acting like their elopement was my idea."
"And it wasn't? Can't fool me, Mr. Yoon."
"Not always. But I'm not lying, it really wasn't me. You know Joshua is much more mischievous than he lets on."
"Yeah, tell me about it. He's had a bad influence ever since he was young."
"Ouch. Are you sure you're not talking about yourself?"
The cardboard coffee container is nearly crushed by your grip as you hand it to him. "If your conscience stings you must be feeling guilty, unlike me."
You hear a snort off to your side and side-eye where Seokmin is trying to hold back his laughter at the bantering while he fusses with another recipe. His cheeks are still flushed, ears adorably tinged red and you bite your lip.
"Ahem. Sometime today, preferably."
Jeonghan's additional cough snaps you out of your trance, glaring at your brother's best friend as if you weren't caught red-handed. Again.
"Here. Your order."
He delicately picks up the cup, a stark contrast to your aggressive movements. "Thank you, my dear barista. A one out of ten experience as usual."
If you could, you'd flip him off as he turns his back to leave like you normally do. But 'professional' times call for 'professional' behavior and you've already made a fool of yourself enough today.
"Go ahead and post your opinion online as promised! Then you'll see how irrelevant it really is!"
That doesn't stop you from having the last word when the bell jingles and Jeonghan graciously responds with a middle finger once he's fully stepped out the door. A sigh of irritation escapes and you tap your nails irritably on top of the counter. Maybe you can speak to your friend Seungcheol in administration and find out how in the world that menace managed to get employed.
You don't actually dislike your brother's best friend. He just grates on every single one of the few nerves you have left.
Seokmin sidles up to you. "Hey, do you have some time tonight?"
"Why? Want to go over some more things?"
"That would be nice, yeah."
"Sure." You shrug in agreement. It's not like you had any big plans. "Let's see if we can survive through this mob first, though. Seems like classes have let out for common hour — oh, wait!"
He freezes, wide-eyed. It's your turn to grasp his sharp jawline in one hand, bringing his face closer to yours. Ignoring the way he nervously licks his lips and how his eyelashes flutter as he rapidly blinks, you take a napkin and wipe the sticky remnants of white still left on his nose.
"Sorry," you murmur, "you had… there was just… a little… "
"Thank you." Seokmin's hand covers yours pressed against his cheek before you can move away. You're forced to meet his gaze head-on, unable to look anywhere else. "Thanks for taking care of me."
"O-of c-course!" You curse yourself for stuttering like an idiot. "I m-mean I have to take care of you, what kind of person do you think I am?"
It's Seokmin's turn to take the first step back but he does it with a calmness that almost seems calculated if it weren't for his embarrassed giggle that sounds abnormal being two pitches higher than usual. Shamelessly he winks at you, pretending like the heat that's been burning in his cheeks hasn't spread down to even his arms.
"A very sweet one."
You try to hide your shy smile behind a frown, sarcasm, and the chatter of customers coming in. "Well, duh!"
Time flies when the coffee shop is bustling. The lines do not let up and somehow, Seokmin helps keep up decently without any terrible disasters befalling. Just as the sun begins to sink below the horizon and cast off the distinct glow of golden hour rays, you happily flip the 'closed' sign to display on the door.
Stretching, the feelings of relief at the end of the day are briefly interrupted by Jeonghan walking by on his way home and you rightfully get your vindication. Two middle fingers and a big grin. Gestures he doesn't fail to kindly return.
Your neck prickles and warms slightly when you go back inside and find Seokmin grinning at you as he leans on the counter, forearms nicely on display. The frothy glass placed between them allows you to ogle his arms without it being too obvious.
"You like it, huh?"
"Huh? Like what?"
"Messing with Jeonghan." A playful smile is on his lips, almost a smirk like he knows.
"Well, yeah. We've known each other since we've been in diapers so it's easy to give him crap."
"Ever had a crush on him?"
You put your hands on your hips. "What's this? Revenge for earlier?"
"Depends on what you're referring to." His eyes sparkle. "And maybe your answer."
"Why does this feel like a test?"
"Maybe it is."
"You're a piece of work!" You exclaim, eyebrows twitching at the next words that come out of his mouth.
"As much work as Jeonghan?"
"No, Hannie's something else, for sure. Now, you… you're just… I don't know… difficult."
"You wound me, you really do." Seokmin shakes his head with a smile. "All I did was ask a simple question but it seems like getting to the answer's more difficult than I am."
"What do you get out of knowing?"
"I don't know… wingman privileges?"
You choke on air. "Are you trying to set us up?"
"If that's what you want. Your answer, then?"
"No, thank you," you say emphatically with your entire chest and he beams.
"See, that wasn't so hard, was it?" He gestures to one of the tables and you take a seat with a huff.
"You know I could cut your pay out of spite."
"Yeah, but you're not going to."
"You're right, as long as this drink isn't poisoned." You stare dubiously at the beverage placed in front of you and he whines.
"The last one wasn't that bad!"
"No, but… it wasn't good either. Oh? What's this?"
Tonight, it's not just a drink Seokmin has whipped up. A pretty little fruit cake on a plate is accompanied by it and you poke it questioningly with the fork he also hands to you.
"I made it."
"You did?" You eye it and poke it again. "Well, it's awfully squishy for something made out of plastic."
He whines again, this time your name. "I'm serious! Just try it."
You relent, of course. You've already established the terms ahead of time in case you get sick from something he's made. Not that you have, but it's always good to be prepared for the worst case scenario.
Gingerly, you take a tiny bite. Eyes unwittingly lighting up in enjoyment at the taste of one of your favorite sweets and the way the fluffy dessert melts on your tongue. Absolutely deli —
"It's good, isn't it?"
"Just say you bought it."
"Wha — ?"
"You can't fool me. Clearly this cake is store bought."
"I… " Seokmin tilts his head. "Okay, you got me… you enjoyed it though, right?"
"It's a very appreciated treat, thank you. Where did you buy it?"
"Um, got it from a local bakery. I think they just opened so I'm glad it tasted good."
"Oh, nearby?"
He twiddles with his thumbs. "Uh, p-perhaps I can take you…?"
It is at this moment you heavily weigh your options in a decision-making split second. Grabbing the drink you haven't touched yet, you gather up the confidence you didn't even know you could summon around him.
"A date?"
Seokmin's entire body twitches as he mildly chokes on his saliva. His downturned gaze shoots up to meet yours before returning to the very, incredibly, interesting mark on the table.
"Um…"
"Is it? Are you asking me on a date?"
"W-would you… g-go with me? I mean t-to the place."
You raise your glass in his direction, a smile growing on your lips. "I would like to meet the professional baker who made this cake… "
He bites his lip. "Are you teasing me?"
"Not necessarily."
"Then?"
"If your drink concoctions meet my expectations, then we can go… on a date?"
The poor man looks like he might die on the spot. "You're definitely making fun of me."
"Am not." Even with your mischievous banter, the answer is clear when you slightly grimace after taking a sip. "Why does this taste a bit off?"
"I don't know…"
"I think you added too much syrup. Did you remember to divide it evenly?"
He shrugs. "I think so?"
Sighing, you stand up and gesture for him to follow you around back. "Let's go over the basics again. I can't believe you're still so bad at this."
"Maybe I don't have a good teacher." Seokmin's hands fly up in defense when you whirl around. "I'm kind of over here struggling to wrap my head around if you're asking me out or if you're tricking me into thinking I asked you out."
"Use that lovely brain power of yours to retain the correct measurements this time to succeed. If you want to go on a date, that is."
"I'll do my best."
Seokmin's grand declaration is encouraging but every single fancy drink he prepares for you flops and you're starting to consider that maybe this was his subtle way to reject the date offer. You're mildly insulted, to say the least. But in all honesty, you don't have time to dwell on it, let alone even have time for one anyways.
It's a relief when Seungkwan returns, granting you some well-deserved days off to return to your normal routine. By the time you've finally caught up with things and find time to drop by the coffee shop again, it's been a little over a week. Joshua's flight landed the night before as well, meaning your dashing brother would be well within choking range soon.
Your best friend greets you at the front with a tight hug and large bag of souvenirs as promised. You ask him about his visit and he chats animatedly about the rest of the Boo family he hasn't seen since last year.
"You know I was worried that you didn't get any rest before coming to work but it seems like things are going smoothly."
The atmosphere is peaceful and quiet, the midday lull leaving the shop empty and Seugnkwan's as bubbly as ever. In fact, he rolls his eyes at you and clicks his tongue.
"I got a ton of rest, silly. And Seok's a great help."
"Yeah, he's not too bad. I just feel bad that you have to manage everything as soon as you got back."
"Aw, you gotta chill out, bestie. Seriously, we have a pro on our hands."
"I know you're more than capable — "
"Not me, I'm talking about Seokmin obviously!"
"What?"
Seungkwan babbles on while you're left flabbergasted. "You know it's incredible, really. He's already whipped up a whole bunch of new drinks and now that we're going to be adding pastries to the menu, he wants to kickstart them by launching a holiday theme! Something fruity because — "
"Whoa, whoa… what are you even ta — "
"Spilling all of my trade secrets already, Kwan?"
You turn around at the voice but you're not even focused on the man speaking who's suddenly shrouded in mystery but glaring daggers at the one with his arm wrapped around Seokmin's shoulders.
"Joshua Hong!"
"Behold!" Your brother raises his tanned arms to the ceiling. "We have acquired brand new bold and raw talent!"
"Don't think I won't kick your butt because there are people around!"
"Lovely to see you too, dear!"
Seungkwan rushes to hold you back when you take a threatening step towards his boss. "I understand your feelings but can we please call a truce for now!"
"I demand an explanation."
"Of course," Joshua nods, "you have my eternal gratification for various reasons but especially because you convinced the Lee Seokmin to come to the dark side."
"You know I want to hear about something else so what are you talking about, Kwannie picked him? And the 'dark side'? This isn't a cult!"
"Well, yeah but it wasn't until he found out that you — "
Seokmin interrupts Joshua with a hacking fit causing the two other men to look at him in concern. Your eyebrow twitches.
"Clearly there are many things going on that I don't understand." Whether it was intentional or not, you didn't like it.
"It's not like that, it's just — "
"Seokmin's the son of the family that owns that famous bakery in town," Seungkwan supplies helpfully, the only one with a tiny bit of common sense. "He's been scouted by tons of places since he decided to start out on his own but he's agreed to set up shop here."
Your mouth drops at this new information. "What?"
Joshua's arms wrap around the younger man's shoulders again. "Isn't this exciting? It's going to bolster our sales so much!"
When your eyes meet Seokmin's, he winces. "I wasn't trying to hide anyth — "
"If you didn't want to go on a date so bad, you could've just told me."
It slips out of your mouth before you can even think and everyone, including yourself, freezes. Realizing what you said, you swear under your breath, getting ready to bolt away from the scene immediately. But as usual, Seokmin's one step faster. He gently grabs your wrist, spinning you to face him again.
"I swear it was nothing like that! I…. I ended up delaying things because I was nervous."
"Why? There was — well, at least I thought — there was… I don't know… something between us?" Your other hand covers your face. "I can't believe you're making me say this in front of my brother and friend!"
He sucks in a harsh breath. "How do you think I feel? And I'm sorry, I didn't… I was just being stupid. I wanted to… liked spending more time with you but I was unsure of what Joshua might think of me."
"He could give two rats less about a single thing."
"True dat," your brother chimes in.
"You see how he runs this coffee shop… or rather the lack of. No responsibility."
"Hey!"
While Seungkwan hushes your brother, Seokmin takes both of your hands in his. "I'm sorry. Really. C-can I please make it up to you? Maybe o-over some cake and coffee? I'll explain whatever you want."
You chew on your lip, the warmth of his grip and pleading gaze causing you to rock back and forth on your heels. "Are you asking me on a date, Lee Seokmin?"
He catches onto your teasing tone and squeezes your hands. "If you'd be okay with that…"
Seokmin still is bad at making drinks. Even if he's improved and follows the recipe correctly, they still taste awfully bland. Neither you nor Joshua nor Seungkwan can figure it out but it's okay because that's where you come in. His grandiose ideas are brewed into fruition by your very own talents and that's why you stick around.
Or perhaps the delicious little desserts and pastries prettily displayed on the counter are another motivation. Definitely getting to test-taste every single one before it's put on the menu is certainly a bonus.
And maybe… just maybe… It's the smiley man whose kindness is baked into each one of the tasty treats that becomes the real reason you stop by every day. Just like how everybody comes for their daily fix of caffeine, you cannot go without your daily fix of love from and for your very own Lee Seokmin.

Ghost and Rabbit. pt6
Tumblr media
lol sorry if its fucked Im on my phone bc my laptop finally craped out but part six enjoy! also not beta'd so forgive the mistakes I was in a rush.
Red on white. Bandaids over bulletholes. Stitches torn and sewed. Rabbit was never really good with the feeling of blood on her hands, she had learned early in her medic training how to put gloves on in less than a second. She could sew a mans ribcage back together without getting a single drop on her.
She hadn’t always been that way of course, as a Sniper Rabbit was used to the feeling of the copper-tinged liquid.
But then it happened just once, Blood up to her elbows, on her face in her mouth. It was in her hair and on her clothes, she could feel it under her fingernails.
It was an accident of course, way back before 141. A teammate was coming up behind her, he made no noise, said nothing to alert her that he was there. By that time Rabbit knew what she was capable of, she enjoyed the kill, loved the feeling that squeezing the trigger gave her. The feeling of a knife in skin. She was more monster than man. Rabbit was far from okay but she was the best, and she was doing her job. Or thats what she told herself anyway, this was expected of her, the killing the adrenaline.
He had grabbed her shoulder telling her what was doing on below and out of her sight, they were alone on top of a building the rest of the team on the ground below.
She didn’t even really know what she was doing one moment she was alone and the next she was being pulled off of a body, her arms and face caked in his blood. Rabbit could hear their commander yelling her name and for her to stop, she could hear Simon. She could hear the blood in her veins, but she couldn’t hear his heart.
The man below her was nothing more than shreds of skin and some bone now, her rifle lay beside what used to be his head also covered in the gooey substance.
Her chest heaved as she put the scene together.
The smell hit her and then her feelings did. The feeling of blood on her hands on her arms.
Rabbit stumbled away from the body mumbling about how she didn’t know, it was an accident. No one was really listening to her, or anyone really. They couldn’t tear their eyes away long enough. Simon rested his hand on her arm gently stopping her from running off, she didn’t look away, she couldn’t.
It was months of paperwork, of talks of transfers and therapists, Her commander seemed unconcerned with what happened. She was made for this line of work she had heard him say once.
Everyone else ran.
She was a phantom around base, Rabbit wouldn’t speak touch or look at anyone for a long time, even Ghost had a hell of a time with her. She spent most of her time in her room alone, or as alone as he would let her be.
She stood in line with the other team members at his funeral, it was a bright and sunny day, no clouds no rain. No black umbrellas. Nothing to save her from seeing his family's faces.
It had been covered up, all of it. No one knew what she had done, the reports had been lost the witnesses bribed into the shadows, his family would never know. It was all an accident, a miscalculation some bomb went off. The damage was passible enough for a bomb.
This wasn’t on her shoulders anymore, She would be allowed back onto the field in no time.
She told Simon she wanted to retire, he told her He’d support her.
She retired as a sniper instead, took up the medic position much to her commander's dismay, he had her transferred for it. Rabbit had her rifles stuck away in the farthest corner in her closet at home, in the tall black bags they came in originally, She hadn’t opened them since that day. Rabbit refused to engage in combat, she had told Price as much on her first day with the 141. Ghost arriving just a day after her, He told Price He’d cover her, always.
Price knew part of the story, the bleached version of it at least.
Rabbit hasn’t fought a soul since that day, She’s skittering around the battlefield all the same, her med pack with her always, and Usually Simon right behind.
Over the years the rest of the team had picked up this quirk, yes Rabbit had knives but she’d never move to pull them out, more for show and Simons sanity than anything else.
She wasn’t always bad with the feeling of blood on her hands. But something in her screams at her every time she feels that stickiness.
You killed him. You killed him. You killed him.
She could suddenly taste it again, see, feel, and hear it.
Rabbits kill count was large, the number wasn’t anything to be proud of by moral standards, but the digit was impressive. She knew the number by heart, anytime she killed she had added it to her mental list, now she kept a different list. The lives she saved, each name she could recall. She knew it was a terrible habit, the remembering, the counting.
But she felt as though the more good that she could count it would maybe one day out number the bad, some sort of sick self-centered justice.
She had almost lost everything and she knew it, so now Rabbit spent her time rebuilding. Changing, doing things that she knew mattered.
Every once in a while, a memory would pop up out of nowhere. Some mission, some face she couldn’t name, someplace she’d been. She’d see herself do things she couldn’t even really remember but it happened.
Simon knew, he saw it on her face every time. She refused to say anything to him about it, dodging the subject like bullets.

Weekly Update
07/30/2023
Tumblr media
Announcements
- I’m writing an original fiction novel -
You read that right! I’m writing an original fiction called Lock & Key, and I’m taking all of you along my journey as I go through the process. I’m so excited to get started actually writing it soon (once I have a bit more of the outline finished) and I’ll be posting all updates on @lockandkeynovel!
This is a big project, and it’s going to take some time, but I can’t begin to tell you how grateful I am for all of you and your support. You all mean the world to me!
- No more requests -
I have 3 more requests left in my inbox, and once those are done that’s it for now. I’m not sure if I’ll ever be in a position to take requests again or not. My WIP list is a mile long, and right now (summer) is a VERY busy time for both of my jobs. I’m lucky if I get one day off a week. All this to say, it’s not feasible for me to continue taking requests when I can’t even handle the fics I have currently in the works. In fact, those 3 are folks who requested back at the end of APRIL, so…yeah…
I’m not saying I’ll never do requests again, it’s just not realistic right now. There will still be follower celebrations and birthday events and things like that in which I may take limited requests, but as far as the regular ones go, I gotta stop taking them for now.

Chaptered Fic Updates
A Bit Dodgy - We’re back baby! I got chapter 14 hitting a Tumblr dash near you tomorrow at 8am! Thank you all for being patient. I’m hoping to be back to regular Monday updates, but we will see. I’ve worked SO HARD on this fic, along with my good friend @whatthefishh and I would hate to ruin it all by rushing through the ending. I would rather write it well and while inspired, than push through just to say I did it, you know what I mean?
Always Yours, Never Mine - Chapter 3 is on its way. This one had to be put aside while I was on the cruise, but i’m planning to work on it this week. I’m not sure if the update will come out this week or next though! Stay tuned!
The Fractured Moon - Part 3 is coming this week! - So I had a bit of confusion with this one in my own head. Let me explain haha…
I had already planned out the four parts for this fic a long time ago, and I spend hours in canva making the banners for each part. Each part was supposed to be centered around each boy. Part One (All boys) - Part 2 (Steven) - Part 3 (Jake) - Part 4 (Marc). Then I had some other ideas and plans that I wanted to work into the fic but was trying to figure out how I was going to do that without messing with the banners I made, so I planned to do 4 bonus chapters called “These Fractured Knights” all with the boys having their own bonus chapters. However, these chapters are all in line with the timeline of the fic, and it really makes more sense (and is less confusing) to just have them be part of the series normally as parts 3, 4, 5, and 6. (I hope I haven’t lost anyone yet).
That being said, I’m not going to call 4 chapters that fit in line with the story “bonus chapters” just for the sake of the banners I made, that’s my weird mental thing and idk why I do that. Once I’ve planned something, I HATE changing it. So I’m just going to make them fit in line with the fic like normal lol.
So anyway…
Part 3 is coming this week hehe.
Tumblr media
Mini-series Updates
Feeling You Can’t Fight - I’m hoping to have a new chapter out this week, but I’m not really sure. This fic was supposed to be finished a month ago and I’m sad that I’m behind on it but I’m working on it!!
All on the backburner for now but will get additional chapters soon:
Not a Doctor - Part 2
Worth the Risk - Part 3
The Good Doctors - New Series
Tumblr media
AI Character Bot Updates
I currently have the following bots on my list that I’m working on. If you have any suggestions or additions you’d like, please feel free to ask! I won’t make every single one I get asked for but I’ll make some of them as I get time!
Tumblr media
Requests Updates
My 1k Follower Celebration ficlets ARE COMPLETE! - YAY! I AM going to be doing a 2k celebration (I’m like 50 followers away! Woot!), but it won’t include writing requests. I just don’t have time, sorry all! It will consist of games and other fun stuff though! Can’t wait!
I had 2 requests for Nathan Bateman, however I don’t feel overly inspired to write for him. That doesn’t mean I don’t like him, nor does it mean I never will write for him, but I just don’t want to have those requests sitting in my inbox while I figure that out. I still have them written down and I have the people who requested them written down so if I ever feel up to it again I’ll do it, but as of right now I don’t foresee it happening any time in the near future, and I just mentally needed to take it off my plate.
I’ll be working on the other requests between this week and next! I’m hoping to have them all out this week but that’s probably unrealistic lol. Thank you for all being so patient, and I love you!
Tumblr media
That’s it for now! I love you all!

My thoughts on season 3 of Never Have I Ever
SPOILERS AHEAD !
* author's note : it's long what can you do, i have an obsessive personality
• Things I disliked in no particular order
1. The pacing of this season.
The pacing of this season
The pacing-
I don't know what happened this season but it felt like someone pushed my head into a blender. Many things were so glossed over, I was actually baffled. People kept getting into relationships and breaking up like it was nothing and all sense of direction was lost. Everything felt like a fever dream. Ben and Aneesa break up. She cries one time, kisses Fabiola and now they are in a relationship only for that to not work out and Fabiola gets into another relationship (at this point i forgot Eve existed). No one reacts to anything, things just happen so there is no chance for the viewers to get attached to any new storylines/couples. Just borderline bad writing in terms of pacing.
2. What they've done to Aneesa's character
At the end of the show, the person I felt bad for the most was Aneesa. The writers just would not give her a chance. She wasn't a real character. She barely had any personality beyond being a plot device for multiple characters and getting into meaningless relationships every 5 minutes (the show does have a problem with doing this to all characters tbh). I wanted to know Aneesa better (I hoped for a pov episode) but all I've got was her getting left for another person in not one but TWO relationships? And they made her kinda not even care about it. It just wasn't realistic and I hated it.
3. Des.
Listen, I don't have anything against his character. Because his character doesn't exist. Des got, as well as all the new characters - Aneesa'd. His sole purpose was to give Devi an Indian boyfriend (which is fine). But he was just so.....unnecessary?? I'm sorry but while watching every scene him and Devi shared, I was begging for literally any other character to show up. Same with his two friends (extras) that had about two lines each. His and Devi's relationship, in my opinion would've been just fine as a fling not a real relationship. And it lasted SO. FUCKING. LONG. Why, just why were they wasting time (that could have been given to flesh out old characters) on something everyone and their mother KNEW wouldn't work out or have any meaningful addition to the show. Other things got sidelined, that's why I hated this storyline.
4. And save the worst for last. All of Devi's romantic relationships in s3
Oh God, here we go.
I understand that Devi is a teen girl that just wants to date boys, have fun, be in love. I really do. But as writers, it is the nhie showrunners' job to make this enjoyable for the viewers. And it worked, the past 2 seasons it really did. Team Paxton, team Ben, team Devi.... We've all had something to enjoy. So throwing in another boy - no, two actually (the guitar player she kissed isn't a big part of the show so I don't really care) made me so angry. They've disturbed a sort of a balance between silly/fun the show had with like 3 or 4 love interests all in your face at the same time so they all started to look kinda.... unimportant (except for Ben, but I am biased lol). It looked painfully unrealistic as well.
The show yet again suffered because of its format. you simply can't throw in a bunch of characters in a 30 minute, 10 episode long comedy show and just hope for the best. It felt messy, rushed and fleeting. Like there was no room to breathe, I felt so anxious watching the middle part of the show.
• Things I did like in no particular order
1. The adults' storylines
I found them much more tolerable and cohesive. I am a Nalini stan first and a human second. I just love her. I love watching Poorna be so brilliant in this role. I was thrilled they gave her a friend and quite sad that friend was taken away later on but oh well. Also, possibly my favorite moment in the show was this quote from Nalini : "You are never too much and always enough." This show was the first time I've truly seen my relationship with my own mother represented in a way that isn't black or white and just simple or complicated. For me this scene meant a lot - showing that no matter what may happen, Nalini will always love and support her daughter.
I also liked Kamala's storyline. Tbh I didn't like Prashant all that much. He felt like a more mature Paxton. I'm glad Kamala didn't rush into marriage, especially if it's something she does not want. I really liked the relationship between Kamala and Mr. Kulkarni, I just wish we saw more of them.
2. Trent and Eleanor ??
I totally predicted this!! I said they will be that odd couple that somehow works very well and I was right. They were really entertaining and I'm so glad we get to see more of them.
3. Trent and Paxton ??
I adored Paxton and Trent's friendship. You can tell they love each other in their weird ways. This totally made me like the characters more and I love love LOVE seeing healthy male friendships in media.
4. Paxton
And everybody gasped. (Hell, I gasped, too). Here it comes Paxton/Daxton stans....
I did really like Paxton this season. And he had his moments last season as well, I'll admit that. Is he my favorite character in the show? No. Do I still think he's kinda boring and overrated? Yes. But I did like him. My favorite Paxton moment this season was in the hospital with Ben (as well as his friendship with Ben as a whole). Not only was it very kind of him to stay with Ben and make him feel better, I also loved him admiting he doesn't really know who he is. How incredibly honest of him. I liked that he apologized to all the girls he hurt and that he was friends with Haley again. I also loved him telling Devi she can't love anyone until she loves herself (someone's been reading my posts 👀). He finally started to care about things (school) and even if his storyline is a simple one, it worked. I'm glad he grew as a person. For me, Paxton finally  became a full-fledged character with a unique storyline. It took only 3 seasons but we got there.
5. Benjamin Gross
I could write novels about Ben Gross. I could write about him until my hands hurt and then some more. He is easily one of my, if not my favorite fictional character of all time. He is one of the few characters that, in my opinion, isn't written in an episodic way. Jaren Lewison has this great ability to carry all of Ben's emotions in his pocket and whip out what he needs in a scene with such ease. The character doesn't forget his lessons, he remembers his past feelings and what they taught him which makes him develop and make progress so naturally within the show. Ben Gross isn't just a douche at the beginning of season 1 and a nice guy at the end of season 3. You can see all of his flaws as well as how caring and emotionally intelligent he is at the same time throughout the entire show. I'm so happy he learned to relax and not care as much about grades.
This kinda falls under Ben, but just 3x06 being the best episode (with the finale) for me. I don't know what kind of crack Mindy Kaling puts in the Ben episodes but she gets is right every damn time. Those 4 words being "I'm proud of you" from his dad made me so emotional. I wouldn't want them to be anything or for anyone else. Also I fucking loved Ben being into drawing?? We need more of that.
6. Devi Vishwakumar
My girl. I really liked Devi this season. I loved how they showed she's still grieving. Maitreyi's performance in the scene when Paxton tells her she doesn't love herself yet was so heartbreakingly beautiful. She knew he was right. Also can we talk about the best version of Devi aka post time jump Devi??? I love that girl! You can really tell she matured quite a bit. She's not as hot headed anymore. The only "bad" thing she did was throwing that book or whatever it was in the trash and honestly...? I didn't see how that was such a big deal at all. And the other team kinda cheated, too. Who cares? They're not in a courtroom. I really hope that in season 4 we see her growing even more.
7. The whole gang
One thing I also liked was that everyone was friends with everyone this season. We saw the Paxton-Trent-Eleanor group, Paxton and Ben's friendship, Paxton and Fabiola, Ben-Devi-Fabiola and so on.... I reallllly liked the different dynamics.
8. Ben & Devi
And finally - this is what (some of) you have been waiting for. As you can see the pacing and new characters really messed with how much I loved (or rather didn't) this season. But honestly, now that I had time to think about it, the character development and just the finale really saved the whole season for me. And yes, this includes Ben and Devi. This season we've seen Ben and Devi be mostly, friends. They didn't share many moments until the last few episodes which did frustrate me but that is exactly what made all of them feel so special later on. It was important for them to not spend as much time together then slowly be close friends for the finale we got. I really wasn't expecting it. For all my criticisms about the writing not being the best in some aspects of the show, the writers did such a good job with their storyline and it's safe to say that s3 is my favorite when it comes to them.
Last season we've only seen hints of them pining for each other. This season they were much more honest and comfortable with each other. I cannot stop thinking about how perfectly their little romance was sprinkled over the seasons, with season one's introduction and teasing of their feelings, season two's big conflict and hurt and finally season three's rekindling of feelings and big realizations. None of their storyline felt like sudden big explosions (like with Paxton), just a natural evolution of caring for each other. A sign that it wasn't just a crush (quick and overwhelming) but a first love kind of a situation. Realistic, messy, beautiful, simple. There isn't a doubt in my mind that these two will end up together in some way at the end of season 4. Truly one of my favorite on screen couples all thanks to the brilliant and talented Jaren and Maitreyi.
Overall, I still think the show's best season is season 1. It was almost perfectly set up. However, in terms of characters and our main couple, I have to say season 3 feels the most open, vulnerable and grown up. The last episode felt super special and teased season 4 in which we will see the gang prepare for college. I have huge expectations for season 4 and I really think it could be one of the best ones (best one?), but who knows...
Maybe I'm just a sucker for closures.
Also, I can't believe the finale??? Like they were evil evil for that one, not letting us see what happens! On the other hand I can't be mad bc as a writer that is such a me thing to do. Like, I can totally see myself be that much of an asshole and sadist so I kinda get it. Idk what I will do until s4.

You see, I've been thinking
HOW PHINABELLA COULD'VE BEEN!
We all know how Phineas and Ferb was extended long by its expiration date, but I mean, the expiration date of that summer. We still could've had so much content about the other summers, all through their highschool graduation!
And we all know by now that well, Isabella left the friends group in highschool and inconveniently enough, that's when Phineas develop his crush.
I've always thought that episode was so rushed, their friendship and romantic dynamic had so much to explore that just by 1 episode it couldn't be enough.
You mean to tell me Phineas never reach out in highschool, at least to invite all the scout girls (or ex scout girls, idk how it works lol) to some crazy adventure?
You mean to tell me Isabella never missed Phineas so much that she could settle for a friendship in highschool if it meant to see him?
You REALLY telling me that!?
So, I the crew could've done a better job by dividing their season on multiple summers instead of just one. And make the story have more continuity that way, grow their characters, develop them while they navigate multiple adventures in each summer and while they are going through their teenage years.
COME ON! THAT WOULD'VE BEEN SO COOL!
It could've teached us about growing up and so many lessons that come while your becoming a teenager and young adult (that's right, the last episode of this could-have-been-P&F ends in them going to college >:] )
I think we could've had this phinabella arc, though several episode ofc, in highschool summer season (or seasons?)
> Unfortunately, Isabella left the group in highschool like in the episode. So the summer where that happened we are introduced to this girl in Phineas class, she's a total nerd like him, but really shy. It's stablished she has a crush on someone and Phineas teases her and tries to guess, but never finds out how it is.
This girl is lesbian, but doesn't tell anyone out of fear because, well we all know the world is sadly not normally kind to LGBTQ+ people.
> Isabella finds out through the (ex?) girl scouts that Phineas has this new girl in his backyard helping him and the guys in their adventures.
> At first she tries to play it off, as if she doesn't care what he does anymore because she "is past him".
> Meanwhile, we get to know how they met. Maybe it's something cheesy like Phineas was drawing Isabella and the girl noticed it lol. Or maybe... he was making multiple sketches of what invention he would do to impress Isabella on her birthday as to have an excuse to talk to her, and the girl noticed it and pointed it out. Phineas, flustered, just said it was for an old friend of his and the girl offered to help him if he teaches him all about inventions and how to make them, because she also has something in mind to give to a "special someone".
> Isabella tries to figure out her feelings of jealously and "betrayal", and the scout girls are trying to tell her to just go to his place. She doesn't want to get hurt of he sees them together, or if Phineas didn't even missed her, all the if's keeping her from talking to him.
> Meanwhile, the guys keep on making their respective inventions for their special someone's. Phineas has run out of classmates names to ask her about, and she straight up tells him it's not someone from school, rather someone who lives in the same apartment complex she does. Phineas resorts to just ask her how they look, "Do they have brown hair? Do they have blond hair? Are they tall? Short? What do they like?" Meanwhile he also teases him "Are they from school? From this neighborhood? Are they blonde?..." The list goes on. They enjoy helping each other and talking about this mysterious persons they like, and which they don't disclose the name- but how they look, act, and what they like about them. They also are total nerds so expect multiple geek and science talk- Phineas and Ferb practically adopted her as their little sister now lol.
> Going back to Isabella, we also get to see why she has been pretty busy too. Perhaps she's making some charity work, helping her mother around, things like that. She keeps telling herself she can't go and see Phineas cause she has "XYZ thing to do", and she's running out of excuses, while her longing just grows and grows.
The one of the girl scouts (her bff I can't remember sorry) tells her that at least she should go and talk to him as a friend, that if she lets time pass and doesn't talk to him, they'll grow apart till she can't recognize him, as friend or lover. "Are you willing to lose your friendship with Phineas?".
The girl scout even asks her if she knows what invention he's up to lately, and Isabella is like "Of course! He's up to... Uh..." Isabella can't even remember the last invention he showed her.
This realization- that even she is forgetting things, shocks her and saddens her. "I don't want to lose him. I want him in my life, any way he wants...". She runs to his house to talk to him after so many months and half summer.
> Phineas has to leave for some reason (props the place where he wants to give Isabella her happy birthday invention) and the girl and Ferb are left in charge with the 2 inventions (Phineas' and the girl's). Ferb goes to the house to get them something to drink, and the girl keeps working.
> "HEY PHINEAS WHATCHA- doing...? Hi I'm Isabella, you must be _____" (yeah haven't thought of her name). The girl greets her and identifies her.
"Oh, you are Isabella, Phineas neighbor, the super cool pretty and intelligent girl scout, right?" Isabella is obviously flustered at this description. "Oh, you know me? How so?" The girl, not wanting to blow the Phineas cover, makes some dumb excuse and says that Ferb described her like that. Just as he comes with the lemonade- and awkward funny moment ensues lol. Ferb just downright leaves the backyard back for some "cookies".
> The girl talks to Isabella, and they soon start bonding over Phineas adventures and crazy inventions. She tells her Phineas is a super helpful guide, and has been helping her with this gift she wants to give to someone special, but the girl seems hesitant "It's not even that cool of a gift, really, I'm not good at this. I just hope it doesn't break in h... their hands right as give it, even if I do give it to them..." Isabella sees the cute invention, it's a sort of small robot that seems to analyze the soil, help planting seeds, keeping up with plants needs. Surely, someone that loves gardening would love a gift like that.
"I bet that she'll love it." Says Isabella. The girl is flustered, but happy, and gains some confidence now that she sees how she has such a lovely friend group. "Yeah. Maybe she will. She lives in an apartment, so she doesn't have a gardening space of her own. but since she volunteers on community services aimed to gardening, I thought this could help her. She is a bit forgetful, so this could help her keep track of every garden she takes care of."
> Isabella is really impressed by the girls skills and courage- she feels she has little courage, ignoring and evading Phineas this whole summer, breaking their friendship bit by bit. A sad look shows in her face. "You are really brave, I don't even have the guts to see the person I like in the eyes lately". The girl questions, and Isabella admits "He's really inteligent, and kind, and helpful, a total cute nerd that has the biggest heart ever. I miss him". The girl smiles as she starts guessing- but as clueless as her mentor, she doesn't get who she could be referencing (she would bet it's between Phineas and Ferb lol).
> "I'm sure he misses you too, is it...? Oh hi Phineas!" Phineas arrived "Hi ____, so look I checked with the mayor, he says he can get us both the park free for... Isabella? Long time no see! Hi!!" Clearly shocked and happy, he hurries to their side.
> "Yeah, long time no see. Watcha doing Phineas? Something in the park? What about?" Phineas, a but flustered tries to change the topic "oh is nothing, it's uh- a thing _____ wanted me to go check for her... I mean sure is for us both- I mean, I'm going to use it too, but uh... it's a surprise... How have you been?" The girl chuckles, now fully aware who Phineas has a crush on, and Isabella talks about all her adventures in her part of summer. Ferb comes with the cookies, and they all sit and enjoy the sunset while talking and getting to know what the other has been up to.
...
SO THAT COULD BE SOMETHING! Aw man, it would've been so cool if P&F was like that. Imagine growing with them, seeing how they mature and they finally getting together.
Maaaaaan it could've been so cool hadn't they beat to death the only summer we watched.
Anyways, yeah, that's my small idea. Anyone, feel free to write it better than I did and maybe even making a series of what P&F could've been like if the showed had some sense of continuity and growth.
Thanks for reading! Sorry for the typos, English is not my native language.

Hi, Gabby! This isn't an ask because I just wanted to tell you how much I adore your "I'll fill the graveyards, until I have you" fic.
It's sexy and troubled (in the sense that the vegaspete relationship is complex and messy as it should be bc they're complex and messy people!) and thoughtful and I'm in awe of your writing style, the seamless melding of Pete's analytical and sometimes distanced voice with your beautiful imagery and visual, film-like description.
I hope you aren't feeling too overwhelmed by life (been there done that, 0/10 wouldn't recommend 🙃) and that you take as much time as you need/want because you come first.
Thank you so much and have a wonderful day! ❤❤❤
oh hello anon!! ah that's okay it doesn't have to be an ask!! but thank you so much i really appreciate it!!! was very much one of those unexpected labours of love- i really had no idea going into it just what it was going to turn into but here we are and what a journey!
oh for sure without a doubt all of the complex and definitely all of the messy lol but thank you so much!!! thats honestly so nice i dont always feel like im much of a descriptive writer or at least not a very flowery prose kind of one so i really appreciate that. lol i am always picturing the things i write as a movie whilst im typing it out so im glad thats somehow still coming across too hahahah
man work!!! has!! been!! insane!!!! ive been a bit overwhelmed and completely drained trying to train this new guy at my job because he was basically dumped in my lap. while also still carrying out all of my regular work at the same time which let me tell you has not been easy because this new guy is VERY BAD at literally everything i've shown him (bruh very much does not belong in this role) but they've decided (FINALLY) that its not working out and he's likely to be fired in the next week or so so things are hopefully looking like they're about to settle down again.
but yeah so true!!! like i havent even had the mental energy to write this month at all beyond little snippets of things i want to happen in the chap so i left it at that in the meantime which was honestly such a good call considering. like id rather take that break than rush through it and write something shitty that i wouldnt feel satisfied with anyway. good things to those who wait and all that i hope!
so yes things are definitely looking up and i've got a fair bit of time to write this weekend so woohoo we are back in the process babey!!
but thank you so much for checking in and i hope you have a wonderful day!!! (even though it's currently night where i am hahaha we love a good time zone)
