I’ve finally got a (maybe) name for whatever the fuck kind of thing I’m trying to write for akechi in this au oc persona thingy I’m developing.
I didn’t want to call it a redemption arc because that didn’t sound right, domestication arc neither.
I’ve been calling it a ‘goro akechi chooses to live’ arc and in fighting for my life getting this guy to a place where he would choose life by the boiler room.
Then in a discussion with a friend I kinda made a better connection.
It’s a goro akechi realizing his value arc.
As both like a person and in his skill set, dude realizes he’s been undercharging for his hitmen thing and ups the price and shido either has to deal with it or find other ways to do his thing because akechi is advocating for himself in a way that’s business savvy and when did this kid stop caring about him what the fuck-
It’s great, I feel like I’m trying to hit the breaks on a speeding train while akechi keeps hitting the gas because dude just does not chill and I’m sort of a perfectionist when it comes to getting character vibes right so
Uh yeah I guess I’ll doodle/ramble more once I get something more solid.
This does follow the main royal timeline (while adding Hannei in a pre game sort of thing) and I’ll generally be following plot beats but the small variations building up to the end will be fun to figure out
Uh anyways back to figuring out how the fuck to draw the black mask outfit

I still got a ways to go with developing Hannei and this ‘goro akechi chooses life’ arc au whatever but I do have some third semester thoughts.
The good news is it’s not akechis life on the line if they destroy the fake reality.
…I’m also a fan of the trope of not realizing just how much you care about a person until you loose them/are going to loose them.

Well I just had a connect the dots moment with Hannei that’s basically fixed and added more to an aspect of her I’ve kind of had an issue with when developing her.
It probably isn’t clear from the doodles but I’ve always imagined her as a sweet and quirky personality, like bubbly and innocent.
The issue is I know she isn’t like that but I can’t seem to figure out what else she’d act like so my options were either push her personality until I feel it fits more, or deal with it and find another explanation.
It was with finally figuring out how she properly awakens Zenigata and her arc with joker that I realized my solution.
Hannei Kugutsu is a a big fucking lier with massive trust issues. Her personality is fake! Just like akechi!
Of course, of course she’d learn not to trust from goro akechi. Dude has his own issues, and what she mirrors from him is a fierce loyalty TO akechi sure, but everything else is only trusting people at an arms length. Maybe she experienced a betrayal of trust and it shattered her.
Fenrir properly awakens with her resolve that she has to trust in herself and her abilities to rebel against a cruel world that seeks to chain her down.
Zenigata properly awakens with her resolve to still have hope, to find those people she puts her trust in and believe in them just as fiercely as she believes in herself.
AND AND IT EXPLAINS HER PERSONALITY TOO ITS A MASK! A ditsy, curious, but nieve girl is a really good identity for someone who’s trying to get information out of people, nobodh suspects a harmless little girl to want something out of them,
Granted, what she wants is stories and memories so she can mirror more learn more perspectives so she can try and regain her memories. But the point is she’s still using others for her own gain. (Something she learned from akechi, and he definitely does)
And the idea that she learns to trust others from akira is REALLY GOOD
I’m so excited, my own character fooled me! I’m so proud! Love it when that happens!

I decided to draw this thing based off of a bigger idea I had when the PPG reboot started using memes (so like… right from the beginning). Kids HATE memes/fads when adults or corporations who have no clue what they’re doing or why it was supposed to be cool or funny in the first place use them. ‘Cause then they just suck out your life essence and make you wanna die. So… clearly they should be used as a tool of evil! To destroy children! And what better lame-o to use a tool like that than THIS chimpy lame-o!

Big ol doodle dump with some boys and my girl Hannei Kugutsu! Think I got a solid enough thing to start posting her
So uh I’ll go into detail another day but basically her concept is “hey what if yaldi had his own morgana to keep an eye on the wildcards” and that’s hannei, she has no idea because as far as she knows she’s a human who lost her memory do to being partly distorted in mementos, she ran into akechi and has clung to him since (this is when he first got persona powers)
As anyone who translates her name might guess, she is a blank slate, her purpose is to ‘reflect’ the wildcards and their confidants. In turn she picks up traits and slowly figures herself out as a person. Also do to this reflection she gets a persona each from akechi and akira thoigh id call it more of a sophie situation at first, she properly awakens to them after having an arc with each of them.
Also since she finds akechi first you can imagine how well reflecting this walking disaster of a kid goes so uh yeah.
Akechi is the focus here though, because this also doubles as my desperate attempt to get goro akechi to choose to live. And the start is seeing a bit too much of himself in this weirdo he found in mementos and sees her starting to spiral like he did and she is way too into the idea of being his accomplice in black mask bs and basically goes ‘fuck you the only one aloud to self destruct here is me!” And thus the arc begins!
Also she insisted on calling akechi her cousin as soon as she learned about family and akechi just has to deal with that it’s great sure do hope he doesn’t get attached and have a found family arc with this weirdo that will take like three years to culminate into a dramatic scene haha anyways
If anyone wants to know more ask box is open, oh also her personas are Zenigata and Fenrir, probably won’t be hard to guess which protags persona they’re supposed to reflect
