I absolutely adore that the set of rationals are countable infinite but the set of irrationals are uncountable infinite, so there are many more irrationals than rationals, but between any two irrationals there are infinitely many rationals. It’s one of those facts that are so absurd that you laugh because you don’t know any other way to process it

Things I wish women were learning from true crime podcasts: how to spot early warning signs of abusive relationships, how to escape abusive relationships, how easily domestic violence can escalate to murder, how incredibly unlikely it is to be the victim of a crime done by a complete random stranger as opposed to friends and family
What women are learning from true crime podcasts: I am in CONSTANT danger and every day I survive without being murdered by a serial killer is a miracle. I should react to everyone I meet with distrust and paranoia and live my life as if I am in mortal peril and if anyone suggests that might not be healthy then they just don't understand what it is to Be A Woman In Today's Society

i know that binghe being extremely jealous isn’t “normal” or “sane” but i’m honestly on his side here. like his concerns that sqq will be stolen from him are pretty rational. i really think that almost every scum villain character, in the event that sqq would want to papapa with them, would agree almost immediately. sqq is the xianxia equivalent of helen of troy.

you know what though…Vader had no implicit reason to dislike the remaining clones in the galaxy, unlike a lot of the rest of the empire. in his mind, they were still his men. they helped him rid the galaxy of the Jedi (in his twisted mind he was ok with it being against their will as long as it served his, which is 😬) but imagine…
When Vader goes back for the 501st after the events of order 66 and revenge of the sith, Rex is absolutely no where to be found. He never returns from his mission on Mandalore. Neither does ahsoka.
We see at the end of the clone wars that Vader must’ve conducted some kind of search for them. That’s why he turns up on the moon where their ship crashed. In Ahsoka’s case, we should probably assume he was trying to hunt her down like the rest of the Jedi.
But in Rex’s case….Vader has no reason to suspect he would’ve “turned against him.” And now imagine him showing up on that moon and seeing the bodies of Torrent company buried in the snow, their helmets serving as grave markers for someone to mourn the loss of their individual lives. And Rex’s helmet just isn’t there.
Vader has to assume that Rex is the one who lived to bury his brothers.
And Vader very well might have spent the next hmm idk 30 years or so of his remaining life searching for maybe the only person that, in his mind, never betrayed him and was never his enemy (as far as he knew.)
And after hopelessly spending all that time looking for his clone captain he settles for continuously hiring Boba Fett because he is the closest Vader could ever come to hearing his last remaining friend’s voice again.

I have had a lot of thoughts on the original story after listening to the Sherlock&Co "Gloria Scott" and a new headcanon just dropped.
(a second part i think - part 3 - part 4 - part 5 - part 6)
(it's on AO3 too)
thoughts, if you're curious:
As far as gay Victor Trevor absolutely got me, I don't think there was anything serious between him and Holmes. This all comes down to my reading of Holmes, who is (to me) too aroace-spec to get involved in a regular relationship (althouuuughh about Holmes, his sexual and romantic orientation and him discovering it I have had so many thoughts I could write a whole essay). He likes to have a default person though, someone who will take him as he is, and maybe even admire a little - now that's Watson, earlier it was Trevor.
And yea I think Victor got a crush straight away after their first meeting, maybe they even talked about this at some point. Maybe Holmes said that he won't be able to reciprocate this affection but if Victor is fine with keeping things as they are, then he is too. I like to think they stayed pen friends even after Trevor's leave.
I feel like I should emphasize this? My intention in the comic was to make Trevor visibly flustered because he didn't expect a young attractive boy (he's hopeless in my head), while Holmes simply didn't expect to see someone his age and so sincerely sorry.

One thing I don't think gets brought up very often when talking about being a weird kid is that you end up feeling like every question about something you like is just a bait to get you talking passionately about it so they can make fun of you. Yknow what I mean?

When I was a young trans guy, I used to have a huge irrational fear of being hit in the groin and needing to overinflate the pain I felt because I wanted to pass in every scenario. However, now, I think if that ever happened to me, I would just stand there like 😐 so everybody can admire that I am just so tough.

cass cain is so emotive and I hate that so many of yall fall straight into the stoic asian woman stereotype thing because like, the only reason cass wouldn't vocalize a feeling is when she would struggle to find the word for it because she literally wasn't taught how to speak. that's so fucking upsetting. She has such big beautiful emotions, she feels so deeply about the littlest things but everytime she has trouble putting it into words she's reminded that she was conceived not to. her abuser did not have her feelings or her pain in mind, only how well she could end a life. can you fucking imagine

Challenging irrational thoughts
Step 1 - Identify the thought and if possible, why you’re having it.
The first step to challenging a thought is to identify it. If it’s helpful to you, consider writing it out.
Example 1: My friend doesn’t want to be friends anymore. I think this because we usually talk a lot more and lately they’ve been quieter.
Example 2: I’m a failure and can’t do anything. I think this because I messed up and got a bad grade.
Step 2 - Look for exceptions
This involves looking out for similar situations that had ended differently than is being assumed.
Example 1: This has happened before, and it turned out that they were busier than usual with final exams.
Example 2: When my friends get bad grades, I never think they are a failure.
Step 3 - Find evidence to the contrary
Example 1: Last week, she told me how important I was to her and that she missed me.
Example 2: I’ve done a lot of things successfully. I helped a friend through a breakdown yesterday. I got a good grade on another assignment. I passed my drivers test.
Step 4 - Replace it with an alternate thought
When it comes to an alternate thought, if you can put a positive spin on it that’s great. But I find that hard, so I try and find a neutral thought.
Example 1: It’s likely my friend has something going on and she will reach out to me when she’s ready.
Example 2: Failing one assignment doesn’t make me a failure. I’m not defined by any one thing.
