Was playing Stardew Valley last night, extremely high, and realized I wanted to install some mods. I'm not new to modding games but I'd never gotten into modding SV so I went to install SMAPI, and holy shit y'all.
The love and care that was put into designing this piece of sortware. You run it and it pops up a command prompt and *it has instructions for how to use a command prompt built in.*
This is the single friendliest piece of software I've ever encountered. There's a meticulous wiki page with screenshots of exactly what everything looks like, where to click, what to type, everything.
It's designed so literally anybody can do it.
And it's designed to not be scary to somebody who doesn't understand computers very well but wants to download mods for this cute little farming game. Deadass had me crying of the amount of compassion and *care* that a whole community put in to make it so accessible, for free.
Humans are good, actually, and you can't change my mind

Thinking about Laios sitting in his bed ignoring Falin and Marcille making out sloppy style on other side of the room. Occasionally they get quiet as if realizing that her brother is right there, but then they get louder again as the passion surpasses their will to care. This is harder for Marcille for some reason, and she shortly protests before being silenced by Falin's demanding tongue. Laios is doodling monsters in his journal.

Something I noticed in the Dungeon Meshi anime that passed me by in the manga is how Marcille's instructions to Laios in using magic are exactly what you'd expect from someone who has been studying it academically for god knows how long.
Her preparations for teaching him were coming up with/remembering the speech about feeling the mana flowing through your body, and picking out the right spell. But she glossed over the things that wouldn't concern someone who is extremely experienced in healing magic:
How awkward it is to lay hands on someone in order to cast a healing spell
MANA SICKNESS, which apparently happens to everyone when they first cast a spell
And it's not like she completely forgot that they're a thing, but it wasn't part of what she was planning on teaching, because everyone already knows that, right? So Marcille just brushes past it, like "oh yeah duh, that's a thing, anyway-".
I love it, perfectly in-character. She's an academic!

EDIT: okay this meme left my friend group so I can’t believe I have to specify this, but I’m literally gay please stop saying “why does it say regular” that’s the original meme. that’s the joke of the original meme. The irony (and joke) of the original meme is that despite attempting to be accepting of all couples, it ultimately still perceived the heterosexual couple as “regular”. Hence, it being funny and adapted by queer audiences who enjoy irony. Sorry I have to ruin this post with this but I’m so annoyed please stop. If it bothers you just don’t engage with the post
