ALRIGHT HEAR ME OUT ON MAMMON BUT SAY ONE DAY READER LEAVES A NOTE SAYING THAT THEIR BREAKING UP WITH MAMMON BECAUSE THEY DON'T THINK THERE GOOD ENOUGH FOR HIM AND THEY DISSAPEARED WITHOUT A TRACE (totally didn't go the the lust ring of hell Btw this was after fizz quit just making sure you know) BUT WOULD HE TRY HUNTING DOWN Y/N
I just really need some angst (ALSO FRIST TIME REQUESTING
Mammon X Reader [Angst]
In which the only thing he has left of you is a rushed note and the smell of your perfume.
Tumblr media
He's just so used to waking up with you clinging to him
With each passing day he doesn't, it's almost like it sinks in harder and becomes even more infuriating
It's been three days since you left your note
It was found by a servant before he did since he'd been frantically looking around his place for you since you NEVER leave without saying anything
Part of him wants to search throughout hell for you, but at the same time, some part of him expects you to just come back
And he's so busy and there's so much distracting him that he has a hard time just deciding what's best
Nevertheless, he has some people on the lookout for you, anything they can find
What's even more frustrating is when they come up with nothing
Nothing?
When they suggested you might have been taken, or killed, he did amuse it
If he needed someone to find you, there were people who had a hand in every ring
Even then, when he hired the underworlds most technological overlord; Vox, he came up with nothing
It was a first for him, too, people were almost always around some kind of technology
From there, Mammon finally drops letting others do things for him
He would absolutely hunt you down, and honestly that's the last thing you want
It's not if he finds you, it's a matter of when

Thinking about the three characters we've met who had already found and claimed the Golden Bough before the Sinners, Kromer, Dongbaek and now Ahab it's very interesting to me that they all have in common being women leaders of groups where they are seen as messiahs of sorts, much like how Carmen herself who is the origin of The Light was the one who united the original LobCorp team and had such supernatural charisma that she could convince anyone she wanted to join her cause of "saving humanity".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kromer is the most blantant and cartoonish example, she's worshipped as a messiah and goddess by her followers to the point they consider basking in her grace a priviledge to the point of genuine insanity beyond what any regular person could comprehend, pure religious fanatism for their savior they believe in who will bring them a "pure, untainted" world, so much that they have cast away their individuality in their adoration, inquisitors being indistinguishable from one another.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ahab who is a more realistic example of this kind of person even if not as infallible as the seemingly perfect Carmen; she's strong, confident, passionate, revered as a hero and makes convincing cases for herself while having the unnatural ability to appeal to people's desires and cut through them, and in her case the way the Pequod Town have come to bend to her isn't unfounded given their situation. I think that's what makes her significantly scarier and more effective as a villain and character in general; she's not just a comically evil woman in a position of power, you can very easily see why some people would fall for her words and bend to her will. She is paradoxically both the savior of the Pequod and the one who doomed them to the hell inside The Pallid Whale, yet after being isolated from society for so long with no other choices or escape and having their sense of self degraded by the Pallidfication the Pequod crew only came to see the first part.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dongbaek is an interesting case, unlike the two women described before who are undeniably villains and egomaniacal, she's portrayed as much more sympathetic and even an outright tragic figure, however at the same time unlike them we never directly see the relationship she has with her followers. They never talk about Dongbaek herself and not even mention her in any way, only the ideology she gave them: destroy the current order to create an ideal world free from the shackles of The Wings and technological advancement, and unlike the two before who are always aided by their lackeys, Dongbaek was always seen alone, less like a hero or a goddess but more like a ghost that haunted everyone, much like Carmen's role in LobCorp. This "ghost" motif is doubly emphasized by her sickly dying appearance and how she contantly dissapeared and appeared without a trace, never letting those around her forget about all they have lost or sacrificed trapped in her vendetta.
But ultimately Dongrang, herself and even Yi Sang come to admit her motives were just as self-centered and she was just as manipulative, yet rather from a place of hubris it came from a place of deep despair and yearning.
Tumblr media
Like Kromer, the TLA believed she would make a better world, but like Ahab, she was ultimately someone taking advantage of people in despair and giving them false hopes, all while deluding herself further, and much like Carmen, she's associated with trees and vegetation, both expressing the wish to be like one and having a disdain for The Wings, though in Dongbaek's case, she only represents half of Carmen's wish; being the plant blooming across the land, while Yi Sang is the one who would reach the sky.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the end, all three of these women were false saviors, much like how Carmen's idea of bringing salvation to humanity led to all of the suffering within Lobotomy Corporation, the unleashing of chaos upon The City even her own endless torture as The Well giving birth to Abnormalities...it makes me wonder if all of this was intentional, as a way to parallel Carmen herself. Yet all three of them appear to us clearly untrustworthy while Carmen does not.
Kromer, Dongbaek and Ahab are immediately stablished as dangerous presences; Ahab and Kromer being the sources of Ishmael and Sinclair's suffering and tormenters they have to overcome --the source of their nightmares, and Dongbaek is introduced stabbing Yi Sang and being called "dangerous" yet Carmen is introduced as her best self and all the best memories everyone has of her, it isn't until Ruina, away from Ayin's perspective that she's questioned, it makes me wonder if they will continue to bring these characters contrasting Carmen in further chapters.

It was an ordinary day in the Watchtower. At least by the standards of the Justice League. Which meant that there was some kind of threat to the Earth. Batman was busy trying to establish contact with the Justice League Dark, which disappeared without a trace. The usual stopped when Wonder Woman in full heavy armor called to the meeting.
"Diana, what happened?" Bruce asked. The "trinity", as they were called, were close and had long ago learned from each other the smallest nuances of body language. It might not have been noticeable to others, but Bruce noticed a slight tremor in her hands.
"I thank you all for being my friends and comrades. But as of today, I am resigning from my post in the Justice League." Batman had contingency plans. Everyone knew that. He was just a man who stood among the Gods because he was prepared for any threat they might face. What made it even more unusual was how unprepared he was for these words. "Diana, talk to us. We can help."
"I hope you will" her tone is steal hard. This is not a Diana, thier friend is talking. It's Wonder Woman. Batman scolds himself how unprepared he is to hearing her like that directed to him he really is. "May this sword serve you instead of me." She takes her sword and stabs it into the wall. "Because when I see it again, it will be with the enemy. Find the Prince, Justice League, or you'll find out what it's like to wage war against the Amazons."
"You don't have to do this." "You're wrong, Batman. When I became Wonder Woman, I took an oath that I would always stand for truth and justice." "Like all of us!" "What if the criminals are the USA, Bruce? Will you stand with me against your government? Will you start a war against your own cities in the name of justice?" Silence reigned in the hall. "Find the Prince, Justice League. You have 72 hours before we start the search. That's all I can give you."
[Wonder Woman A-03] said the computer as Diana left the Watch Tower.
Surprisngly, it's Teen Titans that helped with the next part. Their empath, Raven, was able to sense a huge emotional mystical energy release near Jump-City. They found a well protected base, that was surrendered by agents in white costumes. Per protocol, they called the JL for backup. By their channels, they found that the base belonged to Ghost Investigation Ward, a goverment group to search, study and destroy Ghosts. "Not just ghost, but ghosts of Infinite Realms." said Raven, the only magical expert they currently had. Batman doesn't believe in coincedence. The JLD dissapearence, Diana leaving the JL, the amazons war, a huge base with a lot of magic organised by the goverment. It's all connected. He activates his comm. "Diana, we may have a lead."
Batman and his group are escorted to the ward. What he sees inside caugths him off guard. Batman hates being caught off guard. A 3 meter long blue amazon, with 4 arms, flaming purple hair, fully armored and carrying a spear. Diana and her mother stay around the table, studing maps. "Bow before Pandora, patron of Amazons, queen of Acropolys." They do. "What have you found?" "6 hours ago, was discovered a base of operations, lead by goverment group known as Ghost Investigation Ward. It consist of agents in white suits" This piqued Pandora's interest. He was right, this was connected. If 'the Prince' was not there, then they may find where he really is. "You know about them?"
"If my son is there, then you may just have prevented the war against your realm, mortal. It may depend on how much they harmed him and if we will act fast enough."
"The Justice League will be able to extract him and return him to you safely."
"If you think i will trust you to do it by yourselves, you are mistaken, boy. My son has a lot of allies in the Infinte Realms. I will gather them and will make sure that he is safe. Hippolyta, prepare your forces. No one is allowed to escape."
When the rescue started, Batman was caught off guard once again. When Pandora said they had a lot of allies, he thought it will be a couple of dozens. Instead, a couple of hundreds of ghosts were united to march against GIW forces. Snow Yetis, Greek Soldiers, knights, a big blue dragon, a pharaoh leading mummies, a driad controlled plant, a woman in red suit on a hoverboard with guns, amazons, and the missed the JLD. The problems started from the start, when they heard the loud "STOP!!!" on their comms, belonged to the driad. "What's wrong, Sam?" Pharaoh asked. "Blood Blossoms." "This sick sons of the bitches." Batman heard John Constantine swearing. "What is it?" "The base is surronded by Blood Blossoms. This are anti-magic flowers. If anything mystical gets in, it won't get out. B, they grow only if they are fertilizer with ashes of innocent people burned alive. To have so much to surrend the miles of the base..." Batman now understood what John meant. "What can we do? Should we break the circle?" "To late for that. The only option is to completly destroy every flower. Burn everything." "Flash, Superman, you heard him. Make it quick." "Your assessment is incorrect, Constantine. Demons are not affected by Blood Blossoms," Raven said over the comm. "Raven, the extraction is on you. Get the Prince out of there. J.L. will distract him."
In the end, the united army forces of ghosts and JL was able to capture every GIW agent, even if it was harder than they first anticipated. GIW was able to gather a lot of different weapons, capable to harm even more durable members of the united forces. Once Raven was able to get to the Prince with her emphath and going through walls abilities, both the Prince and Raven dissapeared. Apparently, healed by Raven, the Prince was able to open the portal to Infinite Realms. This satisfied Pandora and amazons, which was a relief. With the promise to punish and disband the GIW and anti-ecto acts, the war was prevented. Ghosts and amazons retreated, leaving only members of thenJL to take care of arrested and wounded. Now was the hard part for them. Make the goverment admit that they fucked up and officialy imprison all GIW agents for good.
A couple of days later, a green portal opened in the Watch Tower. This caused an alarm. The whole JL was ready to fight whoever tried to attack them. Only to meet a white haired teenager. "Uhm, hye". Flash was the first to speak "Uhm, buddy, i hope you won't take it the wrong way, but what are you doing here? It's not exactly an open place." "Uhm, yeah, i get it. I just wanted to say thank you. For helping with Guys in White and stuff." "No problem, bud. We are the Justice League. That's what we do. But how are you connected to it?" This was answered by Batman. "He is Danny Phantom. A small town hero from Amity Park. One of the paranormal heroes, that dissapeared with the kidnapped Prince"
This put a smile on teens face. "Good to know you know about me. Anyway, thanks for GIW. Though, they were just pawns. The Observants used them in an attempt to overthrown me. Thankfully, now i can legally throw them out."
"Wait, you mean, YOU are the Prince?!" Flash exclaimed. "Yeah, but please, just call me Danny. I don't need any pompeus names or anything like that." Batman took initiative. "Apologies, Danny. But we were not aware that we were rescuing a child. We are sorry that we came so late."
Danny stared in his eyes, like he was trying to search his soul, before shrugging off. "Eh, it's fine. I have learned to be content with what I have. Surprisingly, this opens up many opportunities to enjoy what you have, instead of trying to get what is lost." And something about that rubbed Bruce the wrong way. Such lesson couldn't came lightly. "So, now that the GIW is gone, i think it's time to return your friends." On that, Raven and Wonder Woman came from the portal. "Hey, Diana. You call sometimes, since we are apparently cousins, or something like that." "I will Danny, don't fret."
"I think the Titans will be glad to meet you and your friends." said Raven. "Really? Huh, maybe. It's nice to meet the big superheroes." "We are always opened for friends." She said with a small smile.

ALRIGHT HEAR ME OUT ON MAMMON BUT SAY ONE DAY READER LEAVES A NOTE SAYING THAT THEIR BREAKING UP WITH MAMMON BECAUSE THEY DON'T THINK THERE GOOD ENOUGH FOR HIM AND THEY DISSAPEARED WITHOUT A TRACE (totally didn't go the the lust ring of hell Btw this was after fizz quit just making sure you know) BUT WOULD HE TRY HUNTING DOWN Y/N (if your reautes aren't open I'm sorry ) HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY
HELLO ANON! I'M HEARING YOU OUT BECAUSE I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!
I think Mammon would DEFINITELY try and find you because like, how dare you??? Leave him?
You could have poured your entire heart out into that letter, explaining why you wanted to break it off, that you felt you weren't good enough for him, but he doesn't read far into it. The MOMENT he saw the words "break up" he was OFF.
There could be absolutely no indication as to where you were going in the letter, but he knew. He just knew.
He knew, because after the incident with Fizzarolli, Asmodeus had broken into a habit of helping all of his best clowns get away. Mammon couldn't do jack shit about it because getting pissed off at Asmodeus would mean war between the two rings and that was something he didn't want 'cuz money.
At this point though, now that it came down to you, he was willing to tear down half the Rings in Hell to get you back by his side. He didn't have to do that though because his assumption was right, you had sought out Asmodeus and Fizzarolli for guidance.
Now, Mammon is a demon prone to getting what he wanted when he wanted, so to be denied your presence by the big man Asmodeus himself, well, he actually did threaten war like, one or two times.
Eventually however, maybe after some threatening comments made in full-demon form, you caught wind of Mammon's search. Some idle gossip from some of Asmodeus' succubi and incubi talking about the massive spider, tick, thing throwing up a storm in the lobby, and you had to go see him for yourself.
Your presence calmed the sin down immediately.
He was angry at first sight, but seeing the way you ignored Asmodeus' warnings to encroach him filled him with a sense of warmth and love, a feeling only you could squeeze from him.
It was only now that he found out just WHY you had left him; because you felt you weren't good enough for a sin such as himself. And oh, he felt shitty. He did something that he would NEVER do for ANYONE, and apologised, promising that you were everything he needed, and that you were far more worthy of his attention and love than anyone else in Hell.
You left back for the Greed ring happy and together, leaving the Lust ring in absolute shambles of blood and rubble after Mammon's hissy fit trying to find you.
Asmodeus wasn't happy.
BUT YEAH. TLDR: He would ABSOLUTELY hunt you down and he would 100% throw a bitch in the process.
I HOPE THIS IS TO YOUR STANDARDS AND I HOPE YOU HAVE A LOVELY DAY ANON!!!

Lost and Found
Synopsis: Astarion dissapears, and Tiriel goes looking for him.
Tags: dadstarion, dhampirs, hurt/comfort
Alethaine's age: 6 years old
Thanks @themadlu for beta-reading!
Read on AO3
Masterlist
Headcanons This one is more Tiriel x Astarion centered but Alethaine has her role, too
Tumblr media
Astarion can’t move - his regeneration doesn’t catch up with the damage he received. His ribs are broken and so are his hands. There is nothing left of his renowned vampiric strengths - he is helpless in front of those warriors.
Kill the vampire. Kill the vampire. Kill the vampire.
He feels  dawn is close. His body stirs, and a wave of panic floods his mind. The sun will kill him. The sun will burn him.
Astarion tries to stand up but a strong blow knocks him down.
The first rays of the sun cut him like blades.
The last coherent thought comes to his mind.
Tiriel was right. He should have listened to his wife.
**
Tiriel is worried sick.
Astarion left a month ago with those men from Tunland - promising it would take only a dozen days and she wouldn't be stuck home with their daughter all alone.
But it’s been four weeks and he still hasn’t returned.
Alethaine sits on the ceiling with a book. Her adorable little face looks so serious that Tiriel can’t resist smiling every time she glances at her daughter.
Like every elven child Tiriel has seen, Alethaine looks a bit like a perfect doll - a bit smaller than human children, with soft silver hair, and pointy ears that twitch, reacting to sounds. The quarter of human ancestry doesn’t manifest at all in her. She could pass for a high elf if it wasn’t for her vampire fangs, skin too pale for a living girl, and the fact she barely breathes. Sometimes Tiriel can’t resist  waking Alethaine up just to make sure she hasn’t died in her sleep. Just motherly anxiety, besides, nothing could have prepared Tiriel to be the mother of a dhampir.
Well, what did she expect, taking a vampire as a husband - but she had no idea dhampirs were anything but a myth.
“Mum.”
“What is it, Kitten?”
“When will Dad come back?”
“I don’t know”, Tiriel says.
The six-year-old flips the page. Tiriel notices elven letters, Espruar. Meanwhile, she is barely capable of reading a page in Common without having a headache, Alethaine easily reads books in both of her mother tongues.
She is smart, her daughter. Just like Astarion.
Who disappeared without a trace.
It’s not like him. Of course, dealing with pacts and contracts isn't a fast job. It often takes Astarion days just to understand what exactly happened between his client and whatever force they’ve decided to sign papers with (because no one wants to admit to their mistakes).
But Astarion doesn’t like to be away for too long. Tiriel knows it too well. They have been together for twenty-six years but what is it in comparison with two centuries of slavery, considering his previous life is completely erased from his memories? Astarion still has nightmares, he is still haunted. He needs her as much as she needs him.
He would have come back already - to her, to their daughter, to their home.
Tiriel is sure something bad has happened.
Vampires are vulnerable to the sun. To silver. Astarion could have been killed and she would never know about it.
Tiriel didn’t like Astarion’s last client at first sight—an obnoxious chieftain from the Tunland who was so similar to Tiriel’s abusive drunkard of a stepfather that she almost had a panic attack. He even spoke with the same shitty dialect native to Tiriel’s human relatives.
Tiriel even suggested finding someone in town to look after Alethaine in her absence. Hells she was going to let him go alone! But Astarion talked her out.
I love having you as my bodyguard, but let’s not leave Alethaine without both of her parents.
Tiriel feels a gentle touch of fingers on her hair.
“Mum.”
“Hm?”
“Your mum and dad were half-elves like you? Or one of them was an elf like me and Dad?”
Tiriel looks up. Well, sooner or later she would have asked. For some reason the absence of Astarion’s family doesn’t bother Alethaine (at least now), maybe because she understands the concept that “dad was killed and resurrected and it was so long ago it was all forgotten”—but the  fact that Tiriel doesn't have anyone except for her husband probably surprises her.
“My mother was a human and my father was an elf.”
“But where are they? Is grandma dead?”
Tiriel is quiet for a second. Grandma. Well, sure. Tiriel did have a mother. A woman who gave birth to her. And hated her so much didn’t even bother to give her a name.
Tiriel does mental math. She has no idea how old her mother was when they last saw each other but considering some of Tiriel’s brothers had already had children, the old hag must be around ninety. If she is alive, which is dubious considering the living conditions in the Tunland and, especially, in the Sunset Mountains.
“And grandpa? If he is an elf, he is still somewhere!”
“Alethaine, I don’t know who my father was or is. I don’t know his name, I don’t know where he was from. And as for my mother… she wasn’t a good person.”
Alethaine winces her nose.
“But she was your mum!”
“She was a woman who gave birth to me. But she was never my mum. Alethaine, sometimes it happens. Sometimes mothers don’t love their children. And sometimes fathers just disappear without a trace. There are plenty of adults who shouldn't become parents at all.”
Alethaine shakes her head.
“What if Dad has disappeared too?”
“No,” Tiriel says firmly. “Your dad will come back.”
“Are you sure?”
“I am. Because he loves us.”
Alethaine squeezes her lips.
“Mum.”
Tiriel smiles. Once Aletaine starts asking, she doesn’t stop.
“Were you happy when I was born?”
“Of course! We were very happy to have you!”
Tiriel feels tears pricking her eyes. Of course, she can't know it but she is sure her own birth was met with curses and insults once her bitch of a mother and the midwife saw that the newborn had pointy ears.
Elven bastard. Dirty blood. Pixie.
Holding her own daughter in her arms for the first time, Tiriel couldn't understand how anyone could carry a child in their own body, experience childbirth, and still hate such an innocent human being.
“When I have a daughter, I will love her very-very much, just like you love me”
“Well, then she will be lucky to have both a mother and grandmother.”
Tiriel looks outside as if hoping to see a familiar figure approaching the house.
Nothing.
There is only one thing Tiriel can do about it except for waiting.
“Alethaine, I need to go away for a few days. You will live with the innkeeper's family.”
“You will go looking for dad?”
“Yes. And, please, don’t make me feel sorry I’ve left you with them.”
Alethaine nods. The innkeeper, his husband, and their five children are the only dwarves in Daggerlake - and almost the same “weirdos” as the Ancunins. Besides, the innkeeper is a retired adventurer and brews the best ale Tiriel has ever drunk.
“And promise me you won’t crawl on the ceilings. Even if you are asked to.”
“But it’s fun!”
“Yes, but people usually don’t like it when the child they are asked to look after can run away from them to the ceiling.”
“Bu muum…”
“ALETHAINE.”
Tiriel rarely uses her “rage” voice on Alethaine but it always works. Anethaine flinches, her eyes wide open and the book drops to the floor.
“Alright! I won't crawl on the ceiling!”
“Good girl. Now, get dressed and take what you need”
Tiriel hopes it will take her less than a week to find Astarion.
She is even ready to provide an offering to some deity to ensure she won’t coming back home  a widow.
**
It’s hunger. Pain. Desperation.
Astarion wanders through narrow stone halls looking for prey. Nothing. There is nothing. This place is lifeless.
He is still there, in the dungeons, isn’t he?
Still locked somewhere under his master’s mansion. Starved, beaten, tortured.
It was all a dream
The sun. The warmth of a mortal body. The kisses, the hugs. Home, wife, daughter. It was just a mind trick.
The memories fade so does his consciousness.
A red-haired woman. Freckles on her back. She is saying something to him. Who is she? He can't remember.
A little girl. Cold pale skin, no breathing, blood with a bitter scent of wormwood. Dhampir? Or just an unfortunate child turned into a spawn?
No, they are not real. He is going to hear HIS voice. Humiliating orders. Astarions waiting for it like a lash.
Boy, don’t slouch before me.
Astarion lies on the cold stone. His body is paralyzed. Vampires can spend decades like that - they can’t die of hunger, they just freeze in a neverending torture.
The woman. She keeps invading his thoughts. Who is she? The vision slips away.
You’ve brought cattle, boy.
Yes, the master is here. He is disappointed. He will flay Astarion’s skin and chain him to the wall. But what did astarion do? Did he run away? Did he fail to bring the food? Did he break one of the unwritten rules he couldn’t possibly remember?
The night vale, the stars in the skies, the mountains in the distance. A bunch of red-haired warriors. Kill the vampire. Kill the vampire.
Sun is burning Astarion’s skin.
Did they just return him to his master?
Astarion doesn’t move. Soon there is no name, no reason. Just an empty starving shell.
BLOOD.
Astarion’s body stirs up. Someone alive is close, close enough for his vampiric senses to catch them.
HEART BEATING.
So loud he hears it from a distance.
He jumps on his feet and walks toward his prey.
A woman. Probably, a half-elf. He catches her mixed scent. She is armored with a two-handed ax.
And she is alone.
“Who is there?” she asks, ready to thrust her skull-crushing weapon. Too bad the prey has  dark vision. It gives her some advantages. But she will be dead soon anyway, once she satiates his starving body.
He bares his fangs and almost physically senses her fear. The blood of a scared creature is the sweetest.
“Astarion?” her voice trembles. She takes a step back.
And drops her weapon.
He rushes toward her and knocks her to the ground. She doesn’t resist for some reason but the vampire doesn’t pay attention to that.
Astarion pierces her neck. Blood streams down his throat.
So sweet, so delicious. He can’t stop - he won’t stop. Every drop of this woman’s body is going to be his, he is going to satiate himself and then he will go hunting for someone else…
His body slowly gets warmer and his sanity slowly returns.
Astarion. My name is Astarion.
He doesn’t have a master.
He can… feed… on mortals…
Freedom. Sunlight.
Tiriel.
He pulls away and the woman falls on the stone floor, unable to move and barely breathing.
“Oh no…” he mutters observing what he has done. “Tiriel…”
Astarion crawls back to his beloved. Her eyelids are half open, and her skin is almost as pale as his.
“Tiriel!” he slaps her cheek. “Tirel! Stay awake! Look at me, look at me! Oh gods!”
He presses her weak body to his chest, cradling her in his arms. His darling Tiriel, his wife, his thiramin…
“M-my bag… There is… a… potion” she whispers.
Astarion opens it and finds a small bottle. He unclenches Tiriel’s jaw with his strong hands and pours the liquid into her mouth.
The color returns to her cheeks and her heart stops beating so fast. Her eyes are still full of fear and it hurts Astarion even more.
“Tiriel… I…” Astarion mutters but he can’t say anything else.
What is he going to say, after all?
“Astarion, what the hells happened to you?” she finally says. “You looked like a fucking ghoul! Well you still do… a bit”
Astarion gulps. His throat hurts. He needs more. He is too weak, too exhausted. Astarion looks at his hands to avoid Tirilel’s eyes and horror pierces him once again.
His hands are all covered in burns. Nail plates are broken, and the skin hangs in shreds.
“Hey! Astarion, look at me!” Tiriel finally makes herself sit up and grabs his mutilated hands. “Hush, I am here, I am here!”
She hugs him and he feels how weak she is. His body trembles, the panic crushes his mind with boiling hot waters, tears stream down his face and his mouth is open in a silent scream.
“Hush, my love, it’s going to be alright. We are going home. Alethaine misses you”
Alethaine. His daughter.
He is safe. His master is dead. He has it all.
And he’s almost lost it.
Tiriel cups his face. “Astarion, I shouldn’t have let you go. I knew something was wrong. Did they try to kill you?”
“I don't remember.”
“Where are your things? Daggers? The armor?”
Astarion looks down - his feet are bare, the trousers and the shirt are all in rags. He does look like he just emerged from a tomb.
“Damn. Well, let’s hope no one will attack us on the way back. Come on, let’s go outside and get you more blood. And then we are going home and the fuck I am letting you go alone next time!”
**
Tiriel lies on the bedroll. She’s set up the tent in the cave—close enough to the surface but with access to the underground tunnels.
She didn’t manage to understand what exactly happened to Astarion and why he was that feral when she found him. But the burns on his skin betrayed the only reason—the sun.
It seems like whoever did this managed to overcome Astarion in a fight and then let him burn in the sun. Astarion managed to get into the tunnels but lost his way. And since the tunnels were completely empty the hunger didn’t let him heal.
She knew they couldn't trust those bastards from Tunland! She has a good intuition after all. Next time Astarion had better listen to his wife!
Her whole body hurts, especially her neck. Astarion rarely feeds on Tiriel—her blood is more like a medicine to him rather than food but when he does he is always gentle, making sure the process doesn’t hurt her. But this—this was a full-fledged assault. He ripped her throat with his fangs and she is alive only thanks to the fact he returned to his senses before it was too late.
She hears light footsteps.
Astarion is back. His hands are healed and he looks like himself, not the starved monster she encountered in the tunnels.
She elbows up, but Astarion pulls away in embarrassment.
“Astarion, come here,” Tiriel asks. “I’ve spent a month in an empty bed. Don’t deprive me of your presence,” she takes his hand in hers.
Together they sit on the bedroll and Tiriel hugs him nuzzling the crook of his neck.
“I am sorry,” he says.
“Don’t.”
“I’ve almost killed you.”
“But you didn't. Astarion, please, you’ve lost yourself because of hunger. I won’t deny I was scared, but it doesn’t mean it has to change anything about us.”
“I almost killed you,” he repeats. “I would have stepped in the sun if I had done it.”
“Hm, and left our daughter an orphan? I don’t think there are many people ready to raise a dhampir.”
“Where is she?”
“I left with the innkeeper’s family. Good thing I went out looking for you. Who knows where the darkness would have taken you.”
He nods and presses his legs to his chest. Tiriel hugs him from behind. When they just started being together she did it daily—a ritual to console him. But it’s been a while since he needed it.
She kisses the nape of his neck. Then she kisses his cheek. Caress his ears. Plays with his curls.
“I love you,” she whispers. “You are the best thing that happened to me.”
Astarion weeps and Tiriel tugs him closer.
“You need to meditate, love” She kisses his forehead. “Think about something good. Remember how we left Baldur’s Gate twenty-six years ago? We hit the road at sunset and just walked hand in hand. Or when we were stuck in some shitty northern town for the whole winter? I couldn’t make myself leave the room and one night you came back with a pair of rings. You just put one on my finger and kept staring at me as if you saw me for the first time.”
“I prepared the whole wedding speech but forgot it all,” Astarion says, not even trying to get into reverie.
“Or remember how we were both freaking out because of the pregnancy? One day you just knelt in front of me, placed your hand on my belly and burst into tears because your vampire hearing allowed you to hear Alethaine’s heartbeat.”
“We need to go home, Astarion, and you need to rest. Then we can talk about anything that bothers you.”
**
Alethaine flips the page of the book. Thanks to dark vision she can read in complete darkness. The story catches her mind—it is a story of old times when elves ruled Faerun. Thousands and thousands of years before the Age of Humanity, her ancestors walked those lands, building the towers and castles and practicing the ways of long-forgotten magic.
But the intrusive thoughts keep getting into her young mind. First, Dad disappeared without a trace and Mum was so worried she could barely do anything. Then, Mum left town and Alethaine was all alone. Sure, the dwarven family is friendly and they don’t mind taking care of one more child (it’s not a big deal if there are five or six of them), but with every passing day Alethaine was getting more anxious.
What if both of her parents had died? What if she was already an orphan?
Two months passed like this. And then, she was woken up by familiar voices, and her tiny world was restored.
The dhampir puts the book away and takes her plushie. It’s nice to sleep in her own bed for once, but she feels so lonely it cripples her.
Alethaine walks to her parents’ room. Mum and Dad lie in each other’s arms. They discuss something she can’t understand.
“I think we have a visitor,” Astarion chuckles. “What is it, princess?”
“Can I sleep with you?” Alethaine asks, pressing the plushie to her chest.
“Sure, come here!” Astarion opens the blanket up inviting Alethaine in. The dhampir immediately nestles between her parents.
Tiriel hugs her and kisses the crown of her head and Astarion adjusts a bit so he can see both of his girls.
Alethaine relaxes. Her mother’s heartbeat is so loud it’s basically the only thing she can hear. Dad doesn’t breathe and his heart doesn’t beat, but she finds special comfort when he holds her—there is something more natural about his cold hands than her mother’s warmth.
“Did something scare you, princess?” Astarion asks, intertwining his fingers in Alethain’s long soft hair.
Alethaine feels a wave of sadness and fear rising up in her body. Before she manages to say anything coherent she bursts in tears causing both of her parents to immediately rush to comfort her.
“Were you afraid we were absent for so long?” Tiriel asks, placing Alethaine in her lap. Her motherly kisses are so tender the dhampir cries louder and more desperate.
Astarion sits up and wraps his hands around them both.
“I am sorry, princess. We aren’t going to leave you anymore, we promise.”
Alethaine sniffs, pressing her nose into Tiriel’s chest.
And then she hears a quiet lullaby.
Astarion hums it in Elven. Alethaine can’t decipher words but the song soothes her as Tiriel sways her a bit in her arms as if the dhampir was still a baby.
Both her mother’s warmth and her father’s undead coldness weave a perfect sense of comfort for her.
Of course, they were going to come back. They are her parents. They can’t disappear, they can’t die.
As Alethaine drifts into sleep, she notices the way her parents look at each other.
This image is being engraved in her mind and Alethaine will remember this even years later.
Even centuries later Alethaine Ancunin will remember the way her mother smiled to her father and the way Astarion held Tiriel’s hand. The way they talked to each other, the way they saw the world in their lover’s eyes.
Three centuries later, when Alethaine takes her own daughter in her pale hands, this image will flee into the dhampir’s mind, and she will weep, mourning her long-dead mother.

Simon ,,Ghost” Riley/reader
Tumblr media
a/n: might contain a little swearing, i think i’m projecting my grief, english isn’t my first language sorry for any mistakes!
c/w: angst ig, hurt no comfort, no beta we die like men aaand reader is a girl, no use of y/n
He sat on the couch, in complete silence. The apartment was so empty, it was overwhelming. Just like the amount of guilt he felt.
Why did he scream at her right before she went out? It was the only time she seemed scared before a mission. The only time she desperately didn’t want to go.
,,Pull yourself together, for fuck’s sake, you’ve been panicking so much it’s making me wanna blow my head off.”
That were the last words Ghost said to her. The last he ever will.
,,No, wait, I’m so sorry, Si-”
She stuttered, while another soldier pulled her slightly by her arm.
,,I love you Si!”
She managed to shout, but he wouldn’t have time to respond anyway. Now that he thought about it, Simon had never seen a look like that on her face - like she was certain she’d die. The girl he loved so much wanted to say a proper goodbye, or stay if that was even possible somehow.
He couldn’t even cry. Everything felt so normal here, like she’d come home any second and yet, his ears were ringing ever since Price called.
The ashtray was dirty with whatever was left of her cigarettes. The milk wasn’t finished. He bought her new shampoo a few days ago. A charger wrapped in tape was still plugged to a wall.
He was deadly afraid to touch anything. It was like he’d cause her to dissapear completely, even though she was already gone. His conversation with Captain echoed in his mind from time to time.
,,I’m so sorry for you loss, L.T.”
,,…Was it at least quick?”
He spat the question out. He had to know she didn’t suffer. Price didn’t want to answer for a moment, then he heard a deep sigh.
,,…I’m sorry”
The response made his heart drop. He wished it just stopped, the same moment hers had. She died a long, painful death, alone somewhere on a mission. He might’ve as well been the one that killed her, because that’s how he felt anyway.
It was unimaginable. He really would never touch her skin again? Hear her voice? Touch her hair?
He looked at the stupid kitchen counter. She’d always sit up on it on the weekends and make his coffee right when she heard him wake up, so that whenever he came out of his room, his coffee was ready. How the fuck would he be able to make himself coffee ever again without her to drink it with?
A wave went over him, weakening his muscles. He finally broke when he noticed a strand of her hair one of the pillows. There were traces of her everywhere, like she purposefuly wanted to haunt him out of spite. Remind him of his horrible words.
The callendar marked 14th September. It was already the 16th, but the world stopped on the 14th. How dare did the world go on, when his froze. How did everybody just live without her? She’d miss out on so much. He wouldn’t be even able to tell her all about it. It wasn’t supposed to happen, not to her, his girl, the only one that he ever loved.
Her death wasn’t something he could just…move on from. He’ll stay there, in that very apartament, still drinking coffee, with her sitting on the counter. Charging their phones with a broken charger.

Tumblr media
Kaveh POV:
After he scared off the ermites. He couldn’t help but feel anger about what happened. So instead he followed you home without you knowing. And when he knew you were safely home. He went after the emirates. He couldn’t leave it be. They hurted you. That's not something he can accept. After a while he found them. They were killed. If you saw the scene it would have seemed as if a slaughter had taken place. But it was Kaveh who showed them how angry he actually was with them. He often repeated to them to stay away from his girl. Although she didn’t know yet she was his. He made sure to clean up the scene and made sure no traces were left behind. Kaveh quickly returned home, washed his clothes and went to bed.
Falling asleep thinking of you. Hoping you now saw him as your hero, a knight in shiny armor.
Jump to present day reader pov -
As you woke up from your sleep you noticed that you had a hazy memory of what happened the night before. All you remember is that Kaveh left in a hurry and that you felt like something or someone was watching you walk home. You started your daily morning routine before heading to The Akademiya.
You kinda forgot you normally walk with Kaveh to the Akademiya, So when you heard someone call out your name you didn’t right away think it was him.
“Hey, why are you ignoring me? Did I do something wrong?” Kaveh asked.
Oh no i’m sorry! I kinda had a weird morning. My head was still filled with what happened yesterday’, you told him. “Oh… did they give you nightmares?” he looked at you concerned while saying this.
I guess so? I just have a hazy memory as if it was a fever dream but, it wasn't a dream it was reality, you looked at him while saying this. Do you perhaps know more? I know you were there as well, kaveh.
“All I know is that I saved you from those ermites. And after that I had to hurry to a meeting, they didn’t do anything to you right?” he asked. No, they didn’t do anything. I got home safely. Although I did feel like something was watching me. Maybe it was my mind. Because of what happened. I also really didn't eat anything before bed. Not the smartest choice I made I guess.. You gave him a weak smile.
“Maybe I should take you home? You clearly aren’t feeling well” Kaveh told you.
No no I'm fine really, I take it easy today and after all this I just go home to eat and sleep. That probably will help me feel better.
“Hmm if you say so. I’ll wait for you at our spot to walk you home okay?” he still looked very concerned at you. Yeah that’s fine. I promise I won't forget this time.
Your day just passed by silently and slowly as if time barely moved. But it reached it’s end and you were able to leave the Akademiya. And indeed kaveh was sitting there waiting for you. He also already got you a drink.
“Finally! there you are I got worried” He sounded energetic, like a puppy happy to see you.
Mhm today was quite energy draining if i’m being honest.
“Shall I carry you home then?” He joked. Oh My god have you been hanging out with Cyno a lot or something? Just as bad of a joke.
“But I wasn’t joking I wouldn’t mind carrying you home” And he indeed sounded serious about it.
No, I will be fine walking  by myself I believe. “If you say so, I am almost done with this design and then we can have a walk around or I will just take you home?” He said.
“They will be able to get home by herself, Kaveh” A man told him. You turned your head to see who was talking to him.
"Al Haitham? What are you doing here?” He asked the man. He looked pretty annoyed. His eyes almost daggers at this man.
“Maybe you have forgotten kaveh? Do I need to speak it out? Do they already know?” He had a blank stare at kaveh. No emotion it seems. Kind of cold.
Know what? You asked.
“Nevermind It. I’m sorry I have to go. I can’t walk you home today I'm afraid” And so he stood up and followed this man named Al Haitham. You did hear him bickering with this man a lot. You knew he always had something to say about him.. But seeing him argue with him is something else.
You are interested in their relationship. If they are friends or not. But seeing as how tired you felt you decided it was enough for today and go home. Take a snack and then sleep. A good night's rest, it sounded like a dream for you at this moment.
Kaveh POV:
So why exactly did you have to interrupt me? I was having a nice time with them you know” You can clearly hear he was angry.
“I will leave you be more if you actually paid rent you know” Alhaitham still sounded stone cold. “And who are they even anyways?” he added.
They are my friend. And what does it matter to you anyways? it’s not like you ever bothered in someone else’ he said.
"Hm Perhaps. But you are right there is no benefit from knowing who they are. Anyways, I still want the rent. And you need to fix this door. It’s making that noise again.” Al Haitham told him.
I’m an architect. I draw, I don’t fix things like that. So you basically dragged me away for nothing? Kaveh felt he got angry because of this.
“oh well.. that’s a shame” Al Haitham told him while taking a book out to read. “also did you hear about 2 emrites missing?” he asked him.
No, what about it? Of course kaveh knew they were missing. He killed them after all for you.
“Their family is afraid they got killed by someone. And some speculations say they might have just fled to Liyue or something.” He simply answered.
Oh okay. Well I guess I will keep an eye out for them then’ He lied to al haitham.
the following day -
You were just walking around in Sumeru wondering what to do today. It was a nice day, slightly on the hot side so you didn’t feel like doing a lot. You were far lost in your own mind to really notice where exactly you were walking and whatever you might bump into, so you got quite the scare when you bumped into someone.
Ow, I’m sorry I should have looked where I’m Going’ You just said.
“You indeed should look around so you don’t make pitiless mistakes like this.” A stone cold voice you can recognize right away.
Oh Al Haitham, I’m really sorry’ you could feel your eyes heating up out of embarrassment.
“oh you are the friend of kaveh right?” He asked you, sounding a little less.. Cold
Yeah I am hehe’ You felt quite awkward as of now.
So what brings you here? You tried to have a neutral conversation with him.
“Just enjoying the weather, It’s a great day to do absolutely nothing.” He answered simply, “would you like to join me on the walk? I will look out for you so you don’t bulldoze more people” he added.
Ugh how dare he say something like that, it's so insulting, is what was going through your mind, you cannot obviously tell him what you thought.
So instead you took him on the offer and had a little chat with him. He got to know a bit about you. Meanwhile you still didn’t know much about Al Haitham. Other than that he is a scribe at The Akademiya.
And today again you felt like someone was staring at you, following you around. You couldn’t place where it came from or why you felt like it.
But you could notice Al Haitham also felt like someone was watching the 2 of you.

another shitpost (bear with me)
You: *slowly entering the room* Strife? You there? Can I come in?
Strife: (Sitting next to his workbench, full gunsmithing mode on, hands black from machine grease, back bent, eyes focused, not moving away from it to grace you with eye contact)
Strife: I dunno. Can you?
You: *awkwardly* I've missed you...
Strife: *matter-of-factly* Sure you did. That's probably why you went away and dissapeared without a trace for T W O. F U C K I N G. Y E A R S. Or was it three? Can't even tell, my memory's not what it used to be. I'm an old man after all.
You: Did you and Death actually switched personalities while I was away or something? Cause you sounded just like him right now.
Strife: *even more flatly* Believe you me, I hate this as much as anyone would.
You: I'm sorry. I've done fucked up...You have all the right to hate me now.
Strife: (throws the piece he was tinkering over onto the bench with a sharp metallic "clang!", stands up, steps away, turns around to face you and buries your whole person in a bone crushing hug)
Strife: Oh I hate you allright. I hate you so...fucking...much.
You: (hold your breath, feeling the salty wetness dripping onto your face from somewhere high, high above)

You want me to go more in depth? I'll go straight down the RabBiT hOLe
Lets start with LL!Scott shall we?
He has been repeatedly left by those he cares about (whether or not it was willing for the other side... unimportant). First his own brother, dissapears without a trace. Leaving him as the sole heir to the throne. Then of course I suppose something must have happened to his parents because he did take the throne, and we never hear any mention of them henceforth, so it's safe to assume they're dead. Then yes his brother does come back.... but that's not his brother anymore is it? Not truly... no this was something far more sinister.
Then there's the whole thing with the Cod War and while Scott himself said he remained neutral (from one of Jimmy's old vods) he still warned Fwip of the incoming attack. And Fwip and Sausage certainly saw him as an important enough ally that they defended him from Jimmy. Then of course Sausage teams up with Xornoth and kidnaps Scott and Gem (another betrayal, and using tips Scott gave him to do it). Then he gets his ice magic, and harms Gem accidentally. But panics and flees into a self exile so he doesn't hurt anyone else... they can't be the ones to leave him if he leaves first. Then he comes back and his very own home has been trapped by yet another person he considers an ally (Fwip).
And that's just a few of the thing during Empires. Once we enter the game... well let's see. He is constantly on guard from everyone around him, the only person he fully trusts from the beginning is Pearl, and even then he feels as though he has to work and prove himself useful in order to keep her as an ally. I mean what dark green in their right mind would team up with a yellow, and only a yellow?
Then of course any alliance he tried to make outside of Pearl and Cleo ended in a betrayal of trust didn't it? He trusted Impulse to help keep the Wither heads away from Grian. We all know how that ended. Near the end of the game he put his trust in the remaining greens, even being so vulnerable and open as to reveal he was the boogeyman. To everyone. He even helped them reconstruct and enforce their walls. Yet as soon as his curse ended, and he turned red. He was still shunned out. If I remember correctly, Cleo even hit/shot him while he was leaving.
All this to say of course, LL!Scott has severe abandonment issues that express themselves through a need to be useful, to be worth while, to be "the stable one", to be needed. In order to not be left behind. (This specific expression is common amongst many iterations of Scott S Major)

This is one hell of an analysis.

Anyways when he was but a wee lad he was always around his little brother cause Elizabeth was the favorite. They were inseperable, surely nothing could go wrong!!!
Anyways 1 dead sibling later William managed to blackmail mike and could get him to do whatever he wanted just to keep their little secret. One thing lead to another and he unknowingly helped his father in the missing childrens incident.
Now hes fresh out of high school in 1986 and his father dissapears without a trace, leaving michael with nothing but his childhood home and a cryptic message saying to put his sister back together. Knowing what would happen if he didn't, he followed his fathers instructions to go into his office
Then he discovered that his father was hiding a whole underground bunker underneath his home, full of his twisted experiments. He decided that after he did this he would lead his own life, without William controlling him. But the animitronics had other plans. They used him as a vessel to escape.

Maybe a monster
Tumblr media
Pairing: Simon Petrikov/Betty Grof
Simon Petrikov & Kid!Marceline
Summary: Simon dissapeared one night without trace and the police isn’t helping Betty very much.
Tumblr media
Betty Grof sat in the cold, sterile room at the police station, frustration etched across her face. It had been two and a half weeks since Simon Petrikov had disappeared, and despite all her efforts, there was still no trace of him. She tapped her fingers anxiously on the wooden table, her heart heavy with worry. The police officer across from her, Detective Miller, sighed and leaned forward. "Mrs. Grof, we've been doing everything we can. We've checked security footage from the library, interviewed his colleagues, and even sent out a missing person alert. But there's no sign of him."
Betty clenched her fists, her voice trembling with desperation. "Something must have happened to him. You just can't tell me that you don't have any leads. It's absurd!"
Detective Miller nodded sympathetically. "I understand your concern, Mrs. Grof, but so far, it's as if he vanished without a trace. We'll keep looking, but we're running out of options."
Running out of options my ass.
Betty felt a tear roll down her cheek as she stood up, her legs feeling shaky as she left the room. Detective Miller watched her go, his own heart heavy. He knew the pain she was going through, the agony of not knowing what had happened to someone she cared about. He wished there was more he could do to help her.
Tumblr media
It was a quiet night, the stars sparkled above as they made their way back to the car. Just as Betty inserted the key in the ignition, Simon said "Shit, I forgot my phone. I'll be right back," and left Betty in the car alone.
He hurried into the dimly lit library, his footsteps echoing through the silent corridors. The library was dimly lit, and its stillness sent a chill down his spine as he entered since nobody was there. His phone wasn't where he remembered leaving it, but Simon soon spotted it, right there on the table he'd used before. He breathed a sigh of relief and reached for it, and just as his fingers touched the familiar device, he heard a sudden hiss. Startled, he looked around, his heart racing. The sound seemed to emanate from one of the shadowy corners of the library. It was a low, menacing sound.
Glowing eyes, like embers in the night, peered at him from the shadows and then a low, eerie whisper filled the air. What the actual fuck.
Betty sat in the car, waiting patiently as she watched the minutes tick by. She tried to call Simon, but he wasn't answering his phone. A sense of unease began to creep over her, and she couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss.
Time passed, but Simon didn't return.
Betty's concern grew into panic and of course she decided to venture into the library, searching for any sign of Simon. The library was eerie and deserted, the books shrouded in darkness. There was no trace of him. “Simon?!”
Tumblr media
Just as Betty exited the office, her eyes swollen from crying, she came face to face with Noah, the librarian. They had known each other since high school, and Noah had always been a close friend of Simon's. He was leaning against the wall, a concerned expression on his face. His presence was unexpected, and she couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope. Noah was a friendly face in this trying time, and she approached him with a mix of relief and curiosity. However, her relief quickly turned to alarm when she noticed the three men sitting nearby, watching them intently.
Noah spoke softly, his voice filled with urgency. "I'm so sorry about this, Betty, but you need to come with us. Preferably without making a scene." Betty's heart raced, and she glanced at the other men, their expressions unreadable. She didn't understand what was happening and why the hell they were approaching her like this? "What do you mean?”
Noah took a step closer, his voice hushed. "I promise I'll explain everything, but right now, you need to come with us.”
Would it be okay to run away from them?
Probably not.
Betty's mind spun with a whirlwind of questions and fear. She didn't know who these men were or why Noah, her friend, was involved in this. One of the men took out some kind of badge, but she couldn’t make out who they were working for, and the man opened the door to the room Betty had just left, and without further explanation, Noah gently took Betty's arm but she stepped back and the librarian continued “Betty, it’s about Simon.”
Simon.
Noah didn’t touch her this time and he just montioned for her to follow and together they made their way down the corridor, leaving behind the police station.
Call her crazy but she was that desperate to find Simon that she would even follow some strange men. But she trusted Noah enough to know that she would be safe.
They all quickly made their way to a black Jeep parked nearby and as the Jeep sped through the city, Betty couldn't shake the feeling of dread that had settled in her chest. Her eyes darted nervously between the unfamiliar faces of the men, and she clutched her purse tightly. Her voice trembled as she turned to Noah.
"Noah, you're scaring me. Where are we even going?" Betty's voice was a mixture of fear and confusion. Noah glanced at her with sympathy in his eyes. "I promise, Betty, I'll explain everything soon. Right now, I need you to trust me. We're taking you to a safe place.”
As the black Jeep came to a stop, one of the men in the vehicle gently placed a blindfold over Betty's eyes. She didn't say a word, too overwhelmed by the unfolding situation to protest. Her heart raced, and anxiety coursed through her veins as she heard the sound of gates opening. She didn't dare speak; she didn't know where she was, but she felt a glimmer of trust in Noah.
When the blindfold was removed, Betty found herself in a dimly lit room, alone with Noah and a woman she had never seen before. The unfamiliar surroundings and the sudden disappearance of the other men heightened her anxiety. Betty's voice quivered as she looked at Noah. "Noah, where are we? What is going on?"
Noah took a deep breath and tried to find the right words. "I promise that you're going to be okay, Betty. It's just that... how do I even explain this to you?"
Before he could continue, the woman, who seemed to radiate an air of authority, interjected. "Doesn't matter. Mrs. Grof, what do you know about vampires?
Betty's eyes widened in shock at the mention of vampires. Her mind raced with a million questions and a sense of disbelief. Vampires were just a part of fictional stories, weren't they? She stammered, "Vampires? They're not real, are they?"
Noah exchanged a meaningful look with the woman, and with a sigh, he said “For beginners, Simon is alive.”
Betty's heart skipped a beat. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. Simon, alive? It was like a lifeline had been thrown to her in the midst of this bewildering situation. Thank God he’s alive. Tears welled up in Betty's eyes as she struggled to find her words. "I've been searching for him for weeks. Where is he?”
Noah and the woman exchanged another glance, and it was clear that explaining the truth about Simon's situation was not going to be easy.
The woman, her voice measured and serious, continued, "Believe it or not, vampires are real, and Simon has been bitten by one.” Betty's shock intensified as she tried to process the unbelievable information. Simon had been bitten by a vampire? It was a terrifying thought, but the fact that he was still alive gave her a glimmer of hope.
Noah nodded and continued, "We could bring him in if you want to, but we believed that it'd be better if we at least told you some details first." Betty wiped away her tears and composed herself as best she could. She was seconds away from having a panic attack.
So vampires are real. True she did read about them, but who would even believe that they are real?
Tumblr media
Noah and the woman shared as much as they could, what happened with Simon, the secret world of vampire hunters and the ongoing battle against supernatural forces.
The woman continued to share details with Betty, and as she did, she couldn't help but express her amazement. "That fiancé of yours really is something. We couldn't find him for almost two weeks." Betty's heart ached as she realized the extent of the danger Simon had been in. She had no idea about the near-tragedies he had faced, including the incident when he lost control and ended up taking a life. Noah, however, chose to keep that part of the story to himself, for now.
As the woman finished explaining the situation, she received a call, and moments later, two men entered the room, escorting a defeated-looking Simon. He had a troubled and haunted expression, and his once-beautiful black eyes were now glowing with a eerie red hue. He even wore strange cuffs that restrained his movements. Betty's heart ached at the sight of him, but without hesitation, she rushed forward and embraced him tightly. Simon's body shook with guilt and regret, and he looked into Betty's eyes, his voice quivering.
"Oh, Simon, I—" Betty began, but Simon interrupted her, his voice filled with anguish. "I'm so sorry, Betty. So fucking sorry."
Tears welled up in Simon's eyes as he spoke, and Betty couldn't help but notice his fangs, so stark and different from the man she had known. She held him even tighter, unafraid of the changes that had taken place.
Simon held onto Betty as he struggled to find the words to explain the harrowing experience he had endured. "I was afraid to even come home, Betty. I didn't want to hurt you, and I thought it would be safer for you if I stayed away."
Betty caressed his cheek and whispered, "Simon, you don't have to go through this alone. I’ll always be there for you, you already know that.”
Simon's tears fell freely, and he rested his forehead against Betty's. Then she pulled back slightly, her eyes locked onto Simon's. "What exactly happened?" she asked, her voice filled with a mix of curiosity and concern.
Simon sniffled, his tears still fresh on his cheeks, and he replied, "Didn't Noah already tell you?"
Betty brushed her fingers gently across his face and whispered softly, "He did, but I want to hear it from you too. I want to understand what you went through, from your perspective." Simon nodded, and with a deep breath, he began to recount the terrifying moments of his transformation.

The vampire took Simon in a dark alley behind the library and he tried to hard to pull away, he tried to beat his fists against the man’s chest. He tried, but soon he felt a sharp sting at his neck, and the dry, chapped lips of the vampire, this undead monster, as he sucked the blood from his vein. He struggled and screamed, gripping the man’s freezing arms and trying vainly to detach him. But it was to no use. There was nothing he could do; he was held in a merciless embrace, his body paralyzed, his mind swimming with daze. Still, he fought hard, kicking and writhing while the vampire still bit into him like an animal.
With each pull of blood he took, Simon’s strength was sapped more, and soon he felt himself fading from consciousness. He fought until he could no more, and with one last useless push, his arms fell to the cold ground around him.
Only then did the vampire release him, and Simon watched the man through the blackening vision. He looked down with an unnerving smile, his pearly teeth stained red now. It was the last thing Simon saw before drifting into a swirling blackness. He could not see, but he could still feel a burn like nothing he’d ever known before. His veins were lit on fire, his neck felt as though it was going to melt off him. He wanted to writhe in agony, to scream but couldn’t make a sound, couldn’t move. He had no body, but he could still feel the pain. There was nothing else.
Until there was the man’s voice. It echoed around him, seemingly from nowhere and everywhere. “Your body will be undergoing mutation…you’ll feel better soon”
Alone, Simon started to weep. A great yawning fissure opened up inside him, cold and infinite, and he clutched at that emptiness, at that nothing, pleading for it to eat him all up and take his pain away. He would throw himself into the dark if it meant he didn’t have to feel this anymore. He heard the echo before he heard the voice, its sibilant edges creeping up the sides of that frozen inner chasm, slipping out in whispers and tendrils like smoke. The words assembled themselves in strange patterns inside his head, the syllables all out of order, the letters and sounds reversed; but still he heard, and understood.
Welcome to our world. Simon tried to scream again but found it impossible, his throat locked up against the pain, unable to let any but a small, throttled noise escape. Veins stood out on his forehead. Tendons bulged in his neck like cords. The agony was brilliant, blinding. Simon ground his teeth to powder, feeling new ones grow into the ragged sockets, pearly white and razor sharp.
He stayed there for what felt like forever, until by some miracle the pain began to fade. It left him slowly at first, and then all at once, until it was nothing but a memory. He felt the endless darkness quiver and begin to fall apart around him.
When it was over, the warped Simon could smell blood in the air, rising from the earth with the humidity in great, coppery clouds. He was already so, so hungry. His stalk-like legs didn’t make a sound as they whisked him into the dark.

Betty couldn't hold back her emotions as she whispered, "My poor Simon."
However, the woman interrupted their heartfelt moment, her tone matter-of-fact. "Yes, well, very sad, right? Mrs. Grof, we still have some work to do with Mr. Petrikov here, so if you wouldn't mind going with Noah for a moment."
Betty hesitated, clinging to Simon as if afraid to let go. "I just got him back. Can't we just—"
The woman's voice was firm, "I'm afraid not. He's a newborn vampire, so we still have a lot of work to do on him."
Betty's eyes widened in confusion, and she pressed, "What do you mean, 'on him'?"
Simon smiled weakly at her, his voice filled with reassurance. "Betty, we'll see each other soon."
"Simon—" she started, but he kissed her quickly, cutting off her words. "I'll be okay."
Then, a guard of some sort approached Simon and placed a collar or some kind of restraint on him. Simon hissed slightly, and Betty watched in helpless worry as he was led away, the distance between them growing once more.

Notes: OKAY I AM SO SCARED TO POST THIS. (Is it okay that I’m adding some characters, they aren’t that important but still. And this is really an AU and while it will follow the canon story, there are a lot of things that will change and Noah will have some kind of role in this so yeah🥲 I’m not sure I really like this chapter) Hope you enjoyed this though!
If anyone has constructive criticism, I’d be more than happy to hear them out.🫶🏻
Next chapter we are back at Marcy and Simon.🫨

The Abode
A Kayn lol x reader fanfic part 5 master list
As the weeks passed you missed your friends and family even more, you also wondered what happened in your world. Did you dissapear without a trace or did everyone forget about you? If you did dissapear where they looking for you? The only things that kept your mind off these thoughts was work, even if you had no patients to take care of at night you still stayed in the nursery filling out forms, making training plans and diets or just simply studying, a few acolytes had shown their concerns for your health but you brushed them away with the best lies you could come up with and even if most of them didn't exactly believe you they didn't press on the issue further. You were planning on staying awake for yet another night in the nursery, but when you looked towards the window at the light casted by the sun and the clear sky you felt like taking a small walk outside, something that you had been warned not to do but what was the worst that could happen anyway?
You placed your coat on your shoulders as you walked outside, a soft, chilly breeze brushing away your drowsiness as you started walking, noticing how actually pretty the land around the order's HQ was. It was surrounded by a thick line of trees of various sizes and even colors, if there was something that you loved about Ionia it was how magic everything was in the most literal sense, never in your life would you had expected to see a pair of bright eyes looking at you in the shadows casted by the tree lines, what was even more weird is that one was yellow and the other one was red and the way that they looked at you, apparently finding your creeped out expression funny, sent chills down your spine. You blinked hard and even rubbed your eyes thinking that you were hallucinating from the lack of sleep and when you finally looked at the spot where you saw those eyes a sigh of relief escaped you when they were no longer there.
—Boo—said something in your ear, voice gravely and with a slight pinch of playfulness.
You didn't even turn to look at it because you passed out from the scare right then and there, the only reason why your body hadn't collapsed on the ground was because the person that scared you was holding you up. Kayn put his fingers on the pulse of your neck, sensing that you were still alive and letting out a relieved sigh seconds after, he left you softly on the floor, for some reason the idea of carrying you to the infirmary or just simply inside not even crossing his mind. Your body, on the other hand, was more than relieved to finally be able to momentarily shut down making it so a normal loss of conciousness of less than 5 minutes extended to a full on 6 hour nap and Kayn (bless his heart) stood next to your sleeping body all of this time.
—Great, you killed them—spoke the scythe, tone sounding like this was more of an inconvenience than anything else.
—I didn't Rhaast, I scared them—he looked down at your body, tapping you with the hilt of the scythe and watching you respond to it—see? Not dead.
The scythe only answered with a sigh, the conversation dying with it. Eventually you started to move, seemingly a bit annoyed by the itchi grass on your skin and the bugs crawling over your limbs; first you had scrunched your nose, then started shifting and only when your braincells actually made sparks did you realize that you were laying outside on the grass with no idea of why you were even outside on the first place, your eyes shoot open the next second and as you tried to stare at the sunset sky painted with a beatiful mix of orange and pink tones, the pristine white of the clouds adding to its beauty which was quickly overshadowed by Kayn's masive head looking at you. You grimanced a bit but then decided to let it go, too tired to even want to engange in any sort of banter, only now that you were awake did Kayn lay on the floor next to you, looking at the sky just like you did.
—I thought you were dead—he said.
"I wish I was", you thought, obviously not making that comment after the bad experience you had before when making a similar type of joke.
—It was payback, wasn't it?—you questioned, a light laugh from him being all the confirmation you needed.
You stayed in silence, laying next to each other until the cold of the night was too much to bear for you, however if it was up to Kayn you two could sleep there, after all the guy never wore a shirt so his resistance to the cold was something out of this world. You stood up in one swift motion, not offering your hand to him to help him stand because you knew what it would do to you, instead you started walking towards the order's HQ.
—I'll be leaving for a difficult mission tomorrow—he said right behind you, you didn't even notice when he stood up.
—Okay, good luck—you answered, not sure what else to say.
Kayn nodded, not knowing what to answer either, he might be a master with every weapon out there and fully trained in shadow magic, but when it came to making up small talk with you he was at a complete loss. A thick, uncomfortable silence followed the both of you as you walked inside the building, nodding at each other when you had to take a corner that would separate your path.
The next day came fast, or maybe at a normal speed since this night you had actually gotten some sleep, either way that day you decided to see everyone who was going to join Kayn's mission off. You stood in front of the door, a step behind Zed as he gave them a brief run down and some unexpected words of encouragement, as you looked at the blades of grass you noted a soft layer of frost on them, then you saw the clouds coming out of each acolyte's breathing, in that second you knew that whoever returned alive they would most like end up sick because of the cold. While going over your internal monologue Zed stopped talking, everyone turned around and walked off except you, who stood on that front door, freezing your toes off as you saw them dissapear into the forest, next you looked at the sunrise, the blue and yellow of the sky making the frozen grass shine. You sighed before remembering the cloud coming out of your mouth, then did it a couple more times simply because you were mesmerized by it before going back inside, working as you usually did until for some reason you were told to go somewhere and as the best employee of the month you went there... You went to a battle field, one filled with corpses and blood and everything that you knew would make you spend a fortune on a therapist to even begin to comprehend the amount of bloodshed and death, lucky for you however by the time you got there the battle was already over, however that didn't mean that you didn't have to work on the few that survived. That's when you saw Kayn covered in blood, you hoped that it wasn't his blood and just a second later you raised your voice to get him to come with you.
Kayn was already walking towards you though, who else could he trust to take care of him? He was happy to get treated by you, however he wasn't so happy of the scolding that you gave him while treating him, his head was already a mess on every sense of the word, from physical to psychological, it casted a fog on his brain that only got thicker by the sense of bloodlust that permeated his senses, this caused for him to not even think about it before he put his hand on the back of your neck and with barely no force at all he forced your lips on his. Your brain took longer to register the kiss than what it actually laster for, the muscle memory of your limbs started to work on his injuries, your blank expression was an accurate depiction of the state your mind was in. Neither of you said a word, on your part it was because of how absolutely shocked you were and in Kayn's part it was not only because he was satisfied to not get scolded by you but also because he enjoyed that dumb expression on your face.

The Otterverse Incident
My name is Jasper, and this is Casper. 80 years ago, our third sibling went missing on D.A. Non's train, his pride and joy, when it dissapeared into the night. Now, that train has finally arrived, and we've been sent to investigate the wreckage. It's going to be quite the journey- why don't you join us?
notes: OTTERVERSE/BIFROST INCIDENT CROSSOVER ANYONE??? yeah this is mainly for my friends but i'm posting it here since that's the easiest for me to share. to the meowdy crew, hello, enjoy, please liveblog it in my dms i love you.
[JASPER] Eighty years is a long, long time to be missing a sibling.
Most ordinary people would have given up on finding them long ago, concluding that it would be best for everyone to simply move on. But we’re not exactly ordinary. Nor are we people, but that’s hardly relevant. My name is Jasper E. Goggles, and I, along with my sibling, Casper, have been searching for our third sibling for a long, long time.
You see, Zasper isn’t the type to die that easily. It survived a rain of arrows unscathed in Moscow, a poison dart that should have killed it on a heist gone wrong in Seattle, and multiple kidnappings, including being held hostage in Sydney for five years.
Last we heard, zip was the lead engineer on D.A. Non’s favorite toy; a train, one that would travel through the big pride flag-colored tear in reality. The one he created years ago, perhaps for this very purpose. The train was supposed to be a breakthrough invention-
[CASPER] Literally, a breakthrough! Through space!
[JASPER] Thank you, Cat. A breakthrough invention that would put Asgard on track to become the galaxy’s number one tourist destination, and connect it to every known world this side of Eldevard.
It left the station right on schedule, passing inspection with quite literal flying colors. I can only assume that was in no small part due to the amazing technologic genius of our third sibling. That train was D.A. Non’s pride and joy, meant to prove to the galaxy that he was to be feared. I don’t doubt it would have come in very handy when he inevitably started a war with anyone who didn’t comply to his rules.
That train was carrying anyone and everyone in Asgard with enough money to make a name for themselves, since D.A. Non wanted everyone of any note to be on the maiden voyage. And they complied, mostly because few dared risk the wrath of D.A. Non, threatening as he is.
Which, of course, made things all the more complicated when the train never arrived, and every one of Asgard’s politicians, rulers and wealthiest citizens vanished without a trace. But it’s unclear if we’ll ever know for sure, given what happened to it. To… To…
[CASPER] D’you need me to narrate, ‘Lijah? Gumy told me I’m very good at it! That I bring enthusiasm to the job!
[JASPER] I… y-yeah. It’s-
[CASPER] Emotional? Talking about the very likely horrible and tragic death of our sibling? Yep! But no need to worry, I can package it all up and keep going, forever! Cool, right?
[JASPER] Cat, we talked-
[CASPER] Don’t worry about me, ‘Lijah, I’m all good. Where were you…? Oh! Right!
The train left the station right on schedule, for a journey meant to take three days. As you likely know, eighty years is a lot longer than three days! So we can only assume something went horribly, horribly wrong. Nobody knows what happened to it, and no one who was on it is left to tell us. So we’ve been in the dark.. until now.
You see, the search just got a whole lot brighter. Because the train that set off eighty years ago has just arrived, bringing with it new clues, and we’ve been sent to figure out what happened to it. Unfortunately, not much is left of its passengers besides a couple of skeletons and the train’s black box.
[JASPER] The first recording on it is of D.A. Non’s historic speech about the thing, which as expected provides no help in finding any reason for the train’s disappearance. You’d think he’d want to gush about his pet project, but in typical dictator fashion, all he wanted to talk about were his plans for galaxy-wide conquest.
[D.A NON] Friends, machines, and hostages. I welcome the world tonight to watch the beginnings of a new era. This train is the start of the revolution, a spark to light the flame that’s sure to grow and fuel the mechanisms of a new world. And from the womb of my workshops this great train has been birthed, putting us on track to speed forward into this great new world.
Don’t worry, my dear Asgardians. I’ll ensure this grand new era will serve Asgard. There’s no one better than I to lead you in this exciting new time. I am, of course, the modern major general, so to speak, of this great conquest, and who else to nominate? No one! None can serve you as well as I.
I shall ensure that the great Void that is, and the great creation that will be shall serve to benefit Asgard and only Asgard. Their love for us shall be infinite. They will Know you, and so they shall Watch and guide us through this new revolution. Oh, the Watcher with a thousand eyes is merciful, my people, and the stars themselves love Asgard. This I know with certainty.
Thank you all, for coming to this monumentous occasion. The birth of a new world in the name of Asgard, how exciting. And it shall all be because of the great advancements in technology, helped by each and every one of you, that have allowed this train to exist. So, thank you, truly. You do not know how much this will change Asgard.
I’ll see you all on the other side of the wormhole- and on the other side of history.
[CASPER] Three, two, one, and liftoff! Boom!!
[JASPER] It’s not a rocket, Casp, it’s a train. Well- actually, this train might fly. I wasn’t paying attention to the speech. Too boring. Bleh!
[CASPER] O h, don’t worry, there was nothing useful in it.
[JASPER] Thanks, love you! Anyways, the train blasted off- hey maybe it was a rocket ship- into the the rainbow night at 400,000 kilometers an hour-
[CASPER] Wha’d’ya say?
[JASPER] The train blasted off into the rainbow-
[CASPER] No, four hundred thousand kilometers? Speak English?
[JASPER] THAT IS ENGLISH. You Americans and your-
[CASPER] Meters and mental illness both start with M. Coincidence? I think not!
[JASPER] Oh, fuck you. Moving on-
[CASPER] You insult Casper? You insult kit like the discourse? Oh, jail for Jasper! Jail for one million years!
[JASPER]C AN WE PLEASE GET ON WITH THE NARRATION!?!
Oh. Sorry. I- I didn’t mean to- to snap.
[CASPER] It’s okay. I’m sorry.
[JASPER] No, you don’t need to- I’m sorry. Let’s just move on. Okay?
[CASPER] Okay!
[JASPER] -at 250,000 miles an hour, carrying all of D.A. Non’s hopes and dreams- and also Asgard’s wealthiest. The footage is quite stunning, even if it’s monochrome. Can’t believe the Bifrost invented pride flags. Crazy, amiright?
[CASPER] Hehehe.
[JASPER] Nothing here seems out of the ordinary, except for the odometer. It’s odd, the thing can’t seem to decide if the train is moving slowly, faster than light… or not at all? But regardless, now the train is off, carrying all of Asgard’s wealthy among all the colors of the rainbow. The journey is meant to take 72 hours, but as we know, it took a lot longer than that.
The footage is quite corrupted, and it’s hard to pick out anything specific, really, but we scan the first day intently, looking for anything out of the ordinary. There’s nothing too out of place; many of the guests seem unhappy to be making the journey, but that isn’t surprising. Even D.A. Non seems a bit nervous, sitting pretty in his big fancy chair and staring out at the shifting colors of the wormhole from the comfort of his observation deck.
Everything is as mundane as it can be, considering we’re looking at a space train flying through a wormhole. It’s possible the second day will provide more clues-
[CASPER] Hey, Jazz! Look at this!
[JASPER] Huh- what?
[CASPER] I don’t quite know- they seem quite odd though. Maybe a clue?
[JASPER] Okay, I’ll come look.
Oh, that is odd.
Standing in a corner of the train, away from all the other passengers, a figure stands clutching their head in pain. They look thin, unhealthily so, and the bags under their eyes tell an unfortunate story. Their long, disheveled hair fades slightly at the ends, like… maybe long-faded hair dye? A tail shifts distortedly, like it isn’t sure whether to be a cat tail or a fox tail. Furry ears shift slightly, and it’s impossible to tell what species they are, or even their details. They look sort of like bear ears, but they could almost be fox ears, too, like…
[CASPER] Zasper.
[JASPER] But Zasper didn’t have long hair, and this… uh. Creature on the video doesn’t have wings… or antennae.
[CASPER] Yeah. Yeah, you’re right. Still odd, though. And they don’t appear to be registered as a passenger.
[JASPER] No, not as a passenger.
Oh, here!
[CASPER] Orion Fox. They/them. Gender unknown. Species… unclear. That data’s been… corrupted. Like someone doesn’t want anyone knowing what- or who- they are. They’re listed as an engineer on the train. And… that’s it.
[JASPER] Odd. Were there any other engineers onboard?
[CASPER] Uhm… yeah. Yeah, there were two more. A crew of three. Evidently D.A. Non didn’t think he needed any more staff than that. The train was supposedly mostly self-sufficient. And their files are all in order. Not like Orion’s.
[JASPER] Odd. We’ll keep an eye on them.
[CASPER] They don’t look like much of a threat.
[ORION] My head….
I can’t think through the pain. I don’t remember who I am, or why I’m here. All I remember is fire… and blood…
There are too many colors. El… Ely… We’re in danger. She’s in danger!
AAUGH!!
My mind, broken like I’m a puzzle missing pieces! With everything I recall, my confusion increases. Dreams and memories are all mixed in my brain; Who am I, and what is this train!?
Water and light and rainbows, and hope; All of these things I think that I broke; All I recall with certainty is warm love and affection; But whose voice was it, whose voice to my ears is utter perfection?
Memories like water drops fall through my mind! Stories and people I can’t seem to find! She’s screaming a name I don’t recall; And who was I, to earn such a fall!?
Emotions are blurry, but I know clearly the guilt! At an unknown promise that was left unfulfill’t; Why would I hurt her, when she’s all I love? With a fire so bright, and a voice like a dove?
I don’t… My head…
[JASPER] Whoever Orion is, their head seems messed up pretty bad.
[CASPER] Look, someone’s coming.
[DAISY] Hey? Kid?
[ORION] Who-?
[DAISY] Oh. My. Word. Are you who I think you are?
[ORION] I’m… not quite sure myself.
[DAISY] That sick bastard. That sick, sick bastard.
[ORION] Care to explain..?
[DAISY] No. CARMIN!!!
[CARMIN] Coming, darling! Oh, the kid-
[ORION] I’m-
Well. I don’t know how old I am, but I’m not a kid!
[DAISY] You’re a kid to us. Now, Carmin, I think we need to go have some words with a certain someone.
[CARMIN] Of course! Stay right here, kid. We'll be right back.
[ORION] Still not a kid!
[CASPER] I like them!! Sad that they're probably dead, along with everyone else.
[JASPER] Hey, Zaz is stubborn! We'll find kit, I'm sure.
[CASPER] Yeah. Yeah, you're right.

Now, those two were Daisy Cabiosas and Carmin Aloys, owners of Asgard’s most famous restaurant, Wine and D’s. D.A. Non’s been trying to get them shut down for years. He says it’s because of “public health concerns,” but everyone knows it’s really because of their politics. More specifically, they’re very against his rule, and aren’t afraid to say so. But still, he invited them on the train, so evidently he tolerates them, at least.
They don’t appear to be tolerating him, though. Not sure what their history with Orion is, but Carmin and Daisy appear to know them, and don’t seem happy about whatever’s happened to them.
The couple make their way to D.A. Non’s quarters and burst, absolutely unafraid of anything, through his door. The footage isn’t clear, but it’s clear enough to tell that their discussion is heated.
[CARMIN] WALLACE!
[D.A. NON] The name is D.A, my dear. I’d appreciate you learning it.
[DAISY] We aren’t here about your name. We’re here about “Orion.” What did you do to them?
[D.A. NON] Oh, I didn’t do anything! I just gave them a place on my train. I’m being nice to them!
[CARMIN] You tell us why their memories are messed up, or I’ll expose your true plans.
[DAISY] We know about Ely’Woowoth.. And we know that you’re planning to release it on the world.
[D.A. NON] Don’t be ridiculous. Why would I believe those… those childrens’ tales?
[CARMIN] You think Ely’Woowoth will help you conquer the people of the other realms. And when they’re ravaged from the attack of… whatever it is, you can spread your ‘new world’ to every planet in the galaxy.
[D.A. NON] You flatter me. No. No, I don’t worship the gods.
They worship me.
[DAISY] D’you really believe that?
[D.A. NON] No, obviously not. I’m not a child, nor am I naive enough to think gods will help me in my conquest. No, I intend to win this galaxy myself.
[DAISY] I’m still not seeing what Orion has to do with this.
[D.A. NON] Oh, you don’t see? Orion is very special, very special indeed. They just don’t know it… anymore? Yet? Time is odd, with that one. Very unique. Can’t imagine what they must have done to piss the gods off that badly.
[DAISY] Explain, now, or we’ll kill you.
[D.A. NON] Killing me won’t stop the train from arriving at the station.
[CARMIN] No, but it might make me feel better.
[D.A. NON] As amusing as it would be to watch you try to kill me, I think you’ll find I don’t die quite so easily. And nor will the train.
[DAISY] Fuck you, and fuck your train! You’ll be sorry, when I tear that smug smile off your face!
You bastard, time to shut up and hear what I say! You’ve ruined enough lives, now it’s time for you to pay! You won’t be smiling when we derail your train! I’ll make you know nothing but bloodshed and pain!
I don’t know what you want with Orion! But it’s clear to me when someone is lyin’! I want justice for them, and for all the galaxy! That’s what will make me happy!
You will regret making an enemy of me, D.A.
[CARMIN] You’re very cute when you’re bloodthirsty, honey.
[JASPER] Well, I think we have our culprits. Hard to argue with that evidence, when Carmin and Daisy had such a clear motive. As if getting rid of their main political opponent wasn’t motive enough, they now have an even better one in the form of Orion. I’m about prepared to write them up as the cause of the delay.
[CASPER] Not so fast. Look at the dining car.
[JASPER] Oh. My. Wings. Is that who I think it is?
[CASPER] The chief attendant catches the eye, with beautiful golden-orange wings in place of her ears and massive, feathered wings of the same color held tight against xyr back. Mid-length ginger hair is braided neatly down her back, out of xyr way. There’s no one that this could be besides the amazing Felix P. Nix.
[JASPER] Zasper’s girlfriend.
[CASPER} And the former wife of noted politician Paci C. Otter, who died in a strange theater accident that eyewitnesses swear D.A. Non was present for.
[JASPER] Cat? Look at the staff.
[CASPER] Oh.
[JASPER] Every one of the attendants is a member of the Disc Core, a covert group of individuals dedicated to taking down D.A. Non.
They were planning a takeover. One that would turn the train from D.A. Non’s weapon into his prison. Even through the muffled footage, I can hear Felix plotting with the attendants.
[FELIX] D.A. has ruled for far too long, Spent his whole rule doing unspeakable wrong, Yet still he sits, upon that throne; Now he wants the galaxy for his own!
Go now my friends! Bring him to his ends! In the name of my wife; We will take his life!
[JASPER] Felix walks down the hallway, away from the other attendants. Her eyes get slightly misty, and xyr ears wilt. In the next car, Orion is still leaning wearily against the wall.
[FELIX] My most darling, my moon, I never planned to lose you so soon, Now I’m all alone, And D.A. is still on the throne.
…Paci?
[ORION] I don’t-
[FELIX] My sweet foxbride, beloved star! It matters not to me who you are, You’re here with me now, and I won’t lose you! Never again, no matter what I must do!
[ORION] Who is she, this beautiful queen? Whom I’ve never met, but could swear that I’ve seen? She sings to me of undying love; Is this the one I have been dreaming of?
[FELIX & ORION] My darling, my dear… (Do I know you?) Your eyes are filled with fear… (How badly I want to….) I swear to you I won’t let you die. (I don’t recall, my life at all) And if you do, then so shall I! (Did I deserve so great a fall?)
[JASPER] With that, Felix, teary-eyed, turns and leaves. From here the footage is quite messy and distorted. There’s a few clips of Orion wandering the ship, passengers staring at them confusedly and muttering amongst themselves. Felix runs into Carmin and Daisy, and they talk about unlocking something. Then there are six painfully long minutes of D.A. Non smugly smiling into the camera.
And… that’s it. Five suspects, and we have no idea which one caused the train’s disappearance. There’s no further clues, and no real incriminating evidence. The rest of the footage is corrupted. Gone, or at least further damaged than we can recover.
[CASPER] Does that mean we get to visit-
[JASPER] Oh, skies, no. Please. Anything but them.
Don’t give me puppy eyes! Deer eyes? Whatever you are! Don’t-
No. I’m not giving in.
[CASPER] Pwwwweaaasssseeeeeee??
[JASPER] OH-
Fine. But only to get the footage! That’s it!
God. Americans.
[DAISY] It’s time.
[CARMIN] Dinner time?
[DAISY] You’re hilarious, truly. No, time to put an end to a corrupt ruler.
[FELIX] And Disc Core will be right there with you.
[D.A. NON] What. You want me to sing? Absolutely not.
Fuck you. You might have a thousand eyes but that does not mean I’ll give into puppy eyes. From a god. Stars above, you’d think an immortal being would have some dignity!
[DAISY] It’s time to sharpen the knife!
[CARMIN] Of course, my wonderful wife.
[FELIX] I’ll make us a new life!
[ORION] Why is my mind filled with strife?
[DAISY] Take revenge for the kid!
[CARMIN] And stop D.A’s plan. Heaven forbid!
[FELIX] Of all our fears we will be rid!
[ORION] From me my own memories are hid!
[DAISY] D.A!
[D.A. NON] Oh, you’re back. How fun.
[DAISY] And we’re here to stop you.
[CARMIN] For too long, we’ve let you go unchecked! Now Asgard will pay the price of our neglect! But I will not give in to any preordained fate. I do not believe it is too late!
[D.A. NON] Really. Singing?
[DAISY] Curses to you for acting this way! You’re too corrupt, obsessed with this train! Conquest is not something I’ll stand for. And your death may prevent a needless war!
[D.A. NON] One does not simply stop a birth. And especially not one of a god!
[ORION and FELIX] Memories like water drops fall through my mind! (My sweet foxbride, my beloved star!) Stories and people I can’t seem to find! (It matters not to me who you are!) She’s screaming a name I don’t recall; (You’re here with me now, and I won’t lose you!) And who was I, to earn such a fall? (Never again, no matter what I must do!)
[DAISY&CARMIN, ORION, FELIX, ALL] For too long, we’ve let you go unchecked! (Memories like water drops fall through my mind!) (My sweet foxbride, my beloved star!) Now Asgard will pay the price of our own neglect. (Stories and people I can’t seem to find!) (It matters not to me who you are!) But we will not give in to any preordained fate. (She’s screaming a name I don’t recall;) (You’re here with me now, and I won’t lose you!) I do not believe it is too late! (And who was I, to earn such a fall?) (Never again, no matter what I must do!)
[JASPER] Casper and I are here at the prison, officially about to make this the worst day of my life, and now I think some backstory is needed here. We’re about to visit a group of criminals in the prison they’ve been in for sixty years. When the train didn’t arrive eighty years ago, they appeared to profit off of the chaos. It took twenty years to track them through seven thousand, three hundred, and sixty-three fake identities, three thousand and twenty-two secret hideouts, and seven hundred forty-five fake businesses.
[CASPER] My idols.
[JASPER] Casper, I know we’re also wanted by the police, but we’re not going to be like them. I hate them.
[CASPER] Awwwh.
[GMA. GUMY] Oh, hello dears. Care for a cookie?
[JASPER] Where the fuck did you get cooking supplies in prison.
[GMA. GUMY] Oh, a grandma has her secrets!
[CASPER] I WANT A COOKIE!!!
[JASPER] CASPER! They’re probably poisoned.
[GMA. GUMY] Only a teensy bit! Can’t you let an old woman have her fun?
[VASH] Train finally arrived?
[JASPER] A few days ago, actually. How did you know?
[WALI] Don’t concern yourself with it, you wouldn’t like the answer.
[GMA. GUMY] Oh, Wali, be nice to our guests! Having guests is really a skill, I can teach you if you-
[WALI] I can barely tolerate you and the crew, don’t test my patience on anyone else.
[GMA. GUMY] Don’t mind him! Gore’s always like this. It’s simply the only event with a greater than twenty percent chance of bringing you here to see us!
[ELYS] Oh, hey gamers. D’we have guests?
[JASPER] Look, all we need is to see this footage. It’s been corrupted and you’re our best chance at recovering it
[ELYS] Hrm, is that it?
[JASPER] Yes.
[ELYS] Swag, swag. Gimme a minute, I’ll have it back to you.
[GMA. GUMY] In the meantime, would you like some of my galaxy-renowned tea?
[CASPER] Ooh, yes, I would love-
[JASPER] It’s-
[CASPER] It’s fine! I’m immune to most poisons. Sccchlurp!
That’s delicious! I can see why it’s so loved.
[GMA. GUMY] Why thank you, dear! It’s been so long since I’ve had someone new to give my cooking to.
[ELYS] An angel and a dragon, come knocking on our door! The story of the Bifrost, that’s what they’re-
[JASPER] Shut up! Stop singing! No singing!
[ELYS] So mean to me. Can’t believe this. Can’t have shit in prison.
[VASH] I think that’s kind of the point, but sure.
[ELYS] Restored your footage. Here ya are.
[JASPER] Oh, that was quick. Thanks.
[ELYS] ‘Course, ‘course.
[GMA. GUMY] Oh, dears, would you like some cookies to take with you?
[ELYS] They’re very good.
[CASPER] Yeah!!!
[JASPER] I- oh, never mind.
[GMA. GUMY] Here you are!
[CASPER] Thank you! We’ll be on our way now.
[JASPER] The recordings are clear now, I can see everything. The view that matters is the engine room, where Carmin, Daisy, and Felix stand staring at where the engine would be. But there is no engine, only a body, wires and tubes hooked to him, glyphs and sigils and blood flowing through them.
The body is Josh, a founding member of the Disc Core, who’d gone missing several years ago; not a surprising occurrence when your work is in an underground movement meant to piss off the people in charge. They were presumed dead, but now it’s clear whatever happened to them is far worse than death.
Felix rushes over and yanks his body away from the wires. Blood bubbles up and begins oozing from his countless wounds, dying Felix’s grey pants a deep red.
Xe don’t notice it though, too busy looking up and watching, along with Daisy and Carmin, as the glyphs warp and change. They all stand frozen, sensing something has gone very, very wrong.
[VOID] Y'AI'NG'NGAH, ELY'WOOWOTH H'EE-L'GEB F'AI THRODOG UAAAH OGTHROD AI'F GEB'L-EE'H ELY'WOOWOTH 'NGAH'NG AI'Y ZHRO Y'AI, Y'AI Y'AI ELY'WOOWOTH Y'AI'NG'NGAH ELY'WOOWOTH H'EE-L'GEB F'AI THRODOG UAAAH OGTHROD AI'F GEB'L-EE'H ELY'WOOWOTH 'NGAH'NG AI'Y ZHRO Y'AI, Y'AI Y'AI ELY'WOOWOTH Y'AI'NG'NGAH ELY'WOOWOTH H'EE-L'GEB F'AI THRODOG UAAAH OGTHROD AI'F GREEBLE NEEBLE ELY'WOOWOTH 'NGAH'NG AI'Y ZHRO Y'AI, Y'AI, Y'AI Y'AI ELY'WOOWOTH
[VOID, SPOKEN] And the walls begin to tear. Not the walls of the train, but those of a false and hollow reality, twisting in its thrall to Ely’Woowth, the key and the gate through whose dark rainbow being the train has passed. Ely’Woowoth who is the Bifrost, and whose dread invocation now shattered, drags them towards the roiling nuclear chaos of the mad demon sultan at the center of reality. A billion watching, wriggling things approach, recording and observing through the shattered tatters of a sane world. All its eyes are open now.
[VOID, VERSE] Shadows spinning tall and dark As the walls begin to tear apart A thousand eyes crack open now Seeing, watching, observing how Its victims all dissolve in screams As the Watcher looks, invading dreams A world unknown this thing now finds! A world of fresh, unguarded minds!
[JASPER] The three rebels watch in silent horror as the glyphs and symbols protecting the train drain away, leaving them all unprotected from the dread gaze of Ely’Woowoth. Before them, Josh’s blood continues to flow, washing the walls with red. Screams ring out from the carriages behind them. Carmin and Daisy turn and head towards the observation deck to complete the task they boarded the train to complete.
On the deck, D.A. Non sits, wearing his unchanging grin, while Orion looks at him, betrayed.
[ORION] I… I remember…
His folly I did clearly find; For that he took away my mind! A thousand eyes ever watching me The whole universe, now its to see!
[D.A. NON] That knowledge would have my train destroyed; I could not risk it stopping me from entering the void! A shame it left your mind so broken and confused, But your expertise and talent was too great to lose!
[ORION] Memories like a rising flood rush through my mind! Dreams, faces, people whom I left behind! All my faults, all my mistakes I can recall; Now I fin’lly know why I took such a fall!
[D.A. NON] You’ve lost the fight, my plan you have fulfilled! It matters not now whether I am killed. The Void sings to me its whispering refrain. You cannot now stop the coming of this train!
[ORION] Fuck you, and fuck your train!
[JASPER] Orion turns and leaves. They don’t stop to watch as D.A. Non laughs. They don’t see as he leans back in his chair towards the wall, upon which a gooey black substance drips, drips, drips. But Carmin and Daisy do.
They burst through the door, weapons in hand, back to back as they fend off millions of tiny, squirming things, in time to watch as the black slime drips onto D.A. Non, coating his entire body and crawling unnaturally over him, encasing him in an oozing mass. It molds itself into a vaguely humanoid shape, with two thrashing tails and wavy, flowing hair topped with a pirate hat.
Then a thousand glowing green eyes open from the slime, across every part of its body, and it laughs.
[CARMIN] What have you done!?
[D.A. NON] I’ve birthed a new world!! I’ve allowed our people to feel the love of the One Of A Thousand Eyes!
[DAISY] This was your plan all along!
[D.A. NON] I have created a new world for the people of Asgard!! All shall know the name of D.A. Non, and they shall worship me for bringing to them the undying care and gaze of Ely’Woowoth, The Watcher With A Thousand Eyes! It will be our apotheosis! Some may die, but that is a price I’m willing to pay. The Phoenix does not rise from nothing! Rebirth requires first a great death!
[JASPER] D.A. laughs. Carmin and Daisy exchange a look, and nod.
[D.A. NON] Killing me will change nothing, now!
[DAISY] But it will be very, very satisfying.
[CASPER] His tails are so fast!
[JASPER] Very cool movement, I agree. They’re bleeding whatever that black goop is, too. If I didn’t know better, I’d say it almost looks like ink.
[CASPER] What, he’s rewriting history with a giant ink monster or something?
[JASPER] …Wouldn’t be the strangest thing we’ve seen.
[CASPER] Carmin and Daisy are quite good fighters.
[JASPER] The ink monster is so fast, it’s almost like they’re fighting two monsters at once, with its tails whipping around to attack them.
[CARMIN] We may not be able to defeat you-
[DAISY] But even you still need to breathe.
[JASPER] The shattering of the window is deafening. The air rushes out of the room, taking the three of them with it, and the stars claim them all.
[CASPER] At least they died for a cause they cared about, I guess.
[JASPER] Casp, look. Look there.
[CASPER] Orion. They’re going towards the engine room. All the creepy, dripping blobs of black goop avoid them, and the green eyes shut when they walk by. Ely’Woowoth must know something about them.
There in the engine room, Felix weeps for Josh and the failed revolution, and at the apocalypse. The tips of xyr wings are dyed the color of sunset.
Oh, here comes Orion! They step in the door and make their way over to Felix. They don’t seem worried about the blood on their shoes. Oh, we know that look. Of someone who’s seen too much blood in their life.
[ORION] Felix?
[FELIX] You- you remember?
[ORION] All of it, sparkfire.
[FELIX] Agh! I love you!!
[CASPER] Awww, I always cry at reunions!
[JASPER] They’re drenched in blood and about to die?
[CASPER] But they’re in love, okay? Just. Let me have this.
[JASPER] This is why I’ve been narrating.
[CASPER] So meansies to me. Cruelty.
[JASPER] Yeah, I love you too, Cat.
Orion and Felix embrace in the middle of a shallow tide of blood, and Orion guides Felix towards the altar at the center of the engine. Orion plants a kiss into Felix’s hair, looking a bit conflicted even at that, before lying upon the altar.
[FELIX] No!
[ORION] Memories like a great sea, now clear in my brain. The story is plain now, I must stop this train! My love, I must ask you to give in to your fears; But we’ll meet again even if it takes years.
[FELIX] My sweetest moonflower, the love of my life! You cannot ask me to do this to my wife! I’ve vowed to you I won’t let you die! I won’t be left alone to weep and to cry!
[ORION] Darling, it was never meant to be! It’s not yet time for our great symphony! In another life, we will love again; But my time in this one must come to an end.
[FELIX] Oh, when will this pain just leave me be? Am I doomed to grieve for eternity? I get you back just to lose you once more; Am I doomed to fight an eternal war?
[ORION] Love…
[FELIX] You don’t get to ask me to do this.
[ORION] I’m so sorry, for everything I’ve done to you.
[FELIX]N o, I- I don’t know. I love you.
[ORION] I love you too, my wildfire.
[JASPER] Casper?
[CASPER] Yeah?
[JASPER] Isn’t- isn’t that what Zasper used to call Felix?
[CASPER] Oh, I’m sure it’s just a coincidence!
[JASPER] …Okay.
[FELIX] Oh, shush, you sly fox.
[ORION] Not that life anymore, I’m afraid.
[FELIX] Ah, but that was fun.
[ORION] I hope Jasper and Casper have ended up far, far away from all this.
[JASPER] No-
[FELIX] Ah, I wish I could fly far, far away from all this.
[ORION] It’s too late for either of us, probably.
Well, in honor of our last life, could I steal one more thing from you?
[JASPER] No! No. It’s not kit. It can’t be.
[CASPER] I’m sorry, Jazz.
[FELIX] Oh, what is it this time, Paci?
[ORION] One last kiss.
[FELIX] Ahhhh, you’re such a flirt! You may.
[CASPER] I guess. I should narrate this last bit.
Orion- Zasper- Paci and Felix share one last kiss, before Felix inhales sharply and plunges a single, thin line into xyr wife’s heart. When Paci’s blood is gone, the train will arrive, but until then, they are together, and the train is far away from anyone else it can hurt.
[JASPER] No! I don’t understand!
[CASPER] We need to go.
[JASPER] They’re both- they’re both- they can’t be-
[CASPER] Jasper, we need to leave, now.
[JASPER] Okay.
[CASPER] Sorry. But we’re gonna go now, far far away from here, as fast as we can. If anyone’s listening to us, you should do the same. Things are about to get colorful around here, and it might be pretty, but it won’t be fun being around for that.
I guess we solved the mystery of our missing sibling.
[JASPER can be heard sobbing in the background]
I’ll miss kit, but just another day in my life, right? I’ll be fine. I still have Jasper!
Goodbye. Casper C. Googles signing off, along with my sibling, Jasper Goggles. Good luck, and may the stars watch over you.
[The ending lines of the transmission can be heard, but muffled, as if through a cheap radio. Then, static, and an odd sound, like water- or something heavier- dripping onto a wooden floor. A floorboard creaks, and a guitar begins to play an upbeat tune]
[ELYS] And there they were lost among the stars; Eighty years that couple spent trapped in those train cars! No need to fret, they’ll forget every ounce of pain, One day they’ll die hand in hand and leave that cursed train!
Felix born again in flames as bright as lightning’s strike, Doomed to chase her wife through love and war alike! Paci thrust through time and space to take another name, The poor unknowing victim of the universe’s twisted game!
Someday they’ll be free upon a ship with crewmates bold, And for their love they will ascend, another legend to be told! Here I’ll sit and tell their tale, as I do so many more. After all, what else is this curse of endless life good for?
Thank you so much for reading! And now, everyone mentioned! D.A. Non (Divorce Anon), Carmin Aloys, and Wali - @shroom-guy Elys and Ely'Woowoth - @wolfwoodbignaturals Daisy Cabiosas and Gma. Gumy - @gumy-shark Felix - @felicityphoenix5 Casper - @cats-thoughts Jasper - @urlocalqueer0846

Do not get this twisted, i will never play and do not like League of Legends.
BUT.
HUGE BUT
Arcane is my fav show, and I dont know how i've not made an AU for it yet. So here we go!
Plums a daughter to a high powered Trencher, she has a good life, despite being part of the lanes. Her education is great, mind sharp, and tongue sharper. Hired hands keep her safe, not that she needs any help with that. She is known to most as someone you dont cross, her enemies do tend to dissapear without trace, that is unless she wants you to find bits of them. Her hatred to topside is minimal, she's been priviledged all things considered, but harbours a lot of spite within her tiny frame, and is a fantastic drivign force to others. Her compelling intelligent words can rally folks to fight for her cause, whatever it may be. Her friends are superficial, all quick to nod and agree with her, even if they dont actually like her ideas, and she's not stupid enough to miss that. Her company is bought, not true, and it irks her some days. All those close tend to keep her company for personla gain. For this reason she struggles to truly trust anyone. Weapons of choice: pistols, daggers. Category: precision, mid/close range, stealth.
Grey is a topsider but learnt to hate his own, seeing the injustices first hand due to his curious nature, he went to the lanes and found himself having more fun than he's ever had in his life. this however showed him a side to life he took for granted, he had a lot, and many had little. So every other night he sneaks out and dresses to blend in, skulks down into the trenches to party with more interesting, far more hard working folks. His deep pockets are spent helping people when he's not drinking it away, son of a writer, his penmanship gives away his heritage. He if offered a job scribing for a high powered family in the lanes, and is privvy to a lot of secrets and information he would otherwise not know. His family dont understand why he'd do that work, and distance themselevs from him for it, he however has found a new cause, a reason to try to better whatever he comes into contact with, one way or another. The people he's met are good, or at leaat, have every potential to be. Weapon of choice: Rifles, throwing knives. category: Technical, long range, deesculative. Peach is an apprentice to an old herbalist and doctor, one of the Lanes oldest providers of medicine, learning all there is to know about helping people who can pay. The new issues of Shimmer make work tough, and even her own life has danced with that demon once or twice, enough to understand what it does to someone. Her family sold her out as a worker, so she's been job hopping her whole life, dodging danger whenever possible, often being less lucky and finding herself in less than optimal situations. Because of this she's grown to be strong, physically and mentally, handling most issues with a cockiness that comes with the territory of being so big and so brutal. Free time is spent either drinking or fighting for extra cash, her friends are solid, connections loyal, and knowledge growing as she studies medicine more, learnign all she can from her boss. Sometimes she goes out to the moores to collect herbs, a moment of peace compared to the lanes. Weapon of choice: improvised, unarmed. Category: brute, close range, poisons and tonics.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Plums family is the one Grey works for, so those two see each other in passing, and his good nature is curious to the young woman, who's so use to dishonest and devious people in her life. Yet this man seems genuine and open hearted. He is a fool to her, but a fool she rather enjoys for his realistic approach to situations, not fogged by social status, personal opinion or potential gains to be had. He gives balanced judgement, something Plum values. Grey likes the young woman, she tried to spook him during their first interaction but failed due to his genuine lack of awarness on who she was, and the seemingly fun joke she played. He is almost painfully oblivious to just how dangerous she is, that is until he gets caught in the crossfire because of her dirty deals and underhanded tactics. Greys sudden injury leaves Plum with little choice, hobbling his huge form to the closest doctor she could recall.
Inside the cramped herbalists she demands someone help her friend, the first time she's used that word and meant it. The owner of the place was out but his apprentice was there, a tall intimidating looking woman who did not look at all medically skilled. Plum even questioned her abilities upon seeing her for the first time. Peach explains this care wouldnt be cheap, especially not for a topsider. Plum starts to haggle her down, thretening with her family name, something peach doesnt even care about. The price actually goes up with every mention of them. Peach wont touch him until the amount is agreed on, and Plums fuming she's being taken for such a ride. Grey however is bleeding out in a chair, both girl looking to him, one calm and collected, suggesting to hurry, as he didnt look too good. Through gritted teeth Plum agrees to the price, hands over too much coin, and watches this woman haul her injured friend into a back room. There she's able to patch him back up, it takes a while, Plum's sat in a chair amongst all these strange plants and potions, a few hours later turnign her head as Peach returns, bloodied, explaining that the patient would be fine with rest.
After that, Plum is mildly intrigued that a laner would be so bold with her, no one dares normally, but Peach didnt care, and actually, she did do a good job with Grey, he made a full recovery in no time. Its not that Peach didnt know who Plum was, of course she did, but when someone that powerful walks into your little shop? You take the opportunity to gain some extra cash. Grey returns to the doctors place of work to find the manager back, saying Peach had a day off. He wanted to thank her, so the man suggested he looked at a local bar she frequented if he's that bothered. If he doesnt need anything however, he should leave. Undeterred, Grey treks off to this place, its a seedy little joint with loud music and a notable shimmer presence around, but he can buy a drink and glance about the space, not seeing her. Its not until he notices several people going downstairs that he decides to follow. Beneath the bar is what looks like a makeshift boxing ring, people crowd and jeer, most drunk, some hosting bets, others smoking and laughing. And there she is, his doctor, the woman who saved his life, is mid fight in the centre of this space against someone twice her size, Peach looks bloodied, as does her opponent, both exchanging blows, each time with a loud cheer or boo, depending on who was on whos side. He watched her slip an uppercut through their defences and her foe falls, The woman bends over, spits out blood, a couple of laners at her side, one shaking her form with a smile, another handing her a beer. They all laugh as she catches her breath and stands up straight, looks like hell but grinning. She calls it, heading back upstairs with a little wobble in her step, shaking it off. Grey follows and waits until shes finished her drink, buying her a new one to approach with. She doesnt recall his name, surprised he's found her, refers to him by his injuries, hard to forget him, got a pretty penny for that job.
Their chat turns to laughs, to more drinks, to jokes, turns out the topsider is actually a bit more fun than Peach had first thought. kind of glad she didnt fuck up his medical procedures now. After adequate partying they stagger out, arms over shoulders trying to support each others forms from falling, gut laughing, peach pulls a smoke, offers one to grey who goes with it, joins in, coughs less than Peach expected, somewhat use to the nightlife in the lanes by now. She drags him towards her apartment, keys jingling as she gets the door. Inside is a small functional space, lived in, but she's not focused on that, no no, she's focused on getting this big rich kid out of his clothes. Grey doesnt argue, and the two spend the night doing anything but sleeping.
Plum of course worries when Grey doesnt turn up for work on time the next day. He's usually punctual, but by midday he's snuck in, back to work. He looks like shit, tired, groggy, a little deshevveled, when she gets close he smells like a bar, smiling to herself as she catches him off guard, the man jumps at her suden presence, relaxing once he sees its just Plum. She immediatly points out the state of him, to which he explains he went to go thank the Doctro who helped him, and things got...out of hand. He was pulled to one side and Plum demanded to know everything, fascinated with this situation. Who knew a topsider had it in him to charm a woman like that? She was impressed.
Eventually Plum finds an excuse to return to the herbalist, making sure to wait until the guy who owened the place went out, leaving Peach alone in the shop. Her apperance didnt surprise the larger woman who leant on the counter reading, only briefly glancing up at her before smirking and returning to her book, stating how it was only a matter of time Plum would crawl back to her, expert medical skills were hard to come by. A statement that immediatly threw plum, why did this one not fear her like the rest? Regardless, she came in for medicine which was true enough, complaining of headaches, awful ones. A little digging and Peach suggested its stress related, maybe she should try to relax a little between beating the shit out of people for looking at her the wrong way. Plum realised in that comment that Peach did know who she was, had done the whole time, just...didnt care? or chose to ignore it? Brave, or stupid, she was not sure.
Their thinnly veiled threats had some kind of flirty undertone, a dangerous dance between two equally dangerous people. Eventually Peach suggested that the little lane royal should come out for drinks, see if she's able to let go of her duties and pride and just be one of the normal trash folks for a night. Plum agreed, adamant it was to prove she was more than capabale of keeping up with her, and no other reason.
The girls turned up at the usual bar Peach frequented after her shift, Plum had met her outside the herbalists so they could walk over together, she wanted to dig for more on this woman, she was a nobody, reputation either very good or very bad, no inbetween at all, and their conversation yielded very little to expand on that. Drinks flow, the pair settle into a competetive state of existing, exchanging stories, trying to one up each other for the entire night be it at drinking, or playing cards, or trying to get bottlecaps in someones glass from 20ft across the room with a throw. Admittedly, Plum was actually feeling a lot less stressed out, maybe this big idiot was a better doctor than she'd first thought, a statement she said out loud. Peach laughed, corrected her that technically she was only a nurse right now. Plum had a moment, maybe it was the drink, maybe the sight of this jacked woman's arms while she shuffled a deck of cards to play another round, but the image of her in the nurses uniform you'd see people wearing at parties to try to be sexy wouldnt go away. It was both hilarious and unnerving, mainly because she didnt know she wanted it until her brain put it there. Maybe she could convince her to play that role someday.
A few more drinks and Plum was done, her small frame and lower tolerance made it clear she needed to go home. Peach threw her on her shoulder, pickpocketing her in the process to pay for the tab, pretending like it was her money to Plum who was none the wiser at this point. Getting her back to her place was difficult, for a little human she truly made life difficult, grabbing onto posts when she wanted to stop to look in a window of a shop or catch a cool view. After a while Peach became wise enough to avoid all grabbable things, but that just diverted Plums attention to her. The last street before home and Peach feels these little hands slip up under her shirt on her back, something that doesnt bother her, but she does question her company with a chuckle, the hands following lines of muscle. Plum shrugs, slurs out something about 'just lookin'. Peach has to fish around in the drunks pockets to find keys, trying two before the third works and the front door of this womans home opens. Its far nicer than where she lives, plush for a lanes home, tall ceilings and heavy silk drapes, furnitures in good condition, theres a distinctly cleaner quality of air in here.
Plum gets put in her bed, water on the side table, Peach is ready to leave but theres no way it'll be that easy. This wirey little monster she's helped is far more agile than she thought, and admittedly, Peach is also pretty drunk, capable sure but not at all her most alert. Before long the bigger womans stuck under the thighs of Plum who's just not letting her go. Their interactions are closer to a fight, any kind of collision with a woman like this is a dangerous choice, Peach isnt an idiot, this could be great, it could be terrible, theres no way to know the outcome...but she's only human, and the opportunity to sleep with someone like Plum is far too tempting. May as well go with it, whats the worst that could happen...right?
Well the outcome was great, for a while. Until it dawned on Peach that she was seeing a lot more of Plums goons coming to her place of work for medicine and care. The buisness was making good cash, and her name was alwasy the one asked for, a fact peach's boss couldnt overlook...now she owed Plum for this, she was the sort of woman who'd find a doctor in her pocket very useful too no doubt. Peach knew she was being used, it'd creep up and be clearer to see when Plum would ask for specific poisons, or about methods of removing things from people without killing them, at first harmless medical questions in passing but it was eventually clear she was using this information. Then a body turns up of someone high powered...
Things get dangerous when rich folk turn up poisoned. Then one day a topsider is found. wealthy guy who was killed with a familiar toxin, one peach knew all too well, a toxin that if someone wanted could be traced back to her shop, her work. She had to stop this, but it was too late. Plum had brought a lot of buisness and money her way, Peach owed her, a debt she was unable to repay without a miracle. Now under the thumb of a tiny tyrant, her services are bought out, becoming a doctor for Plum's family, providing carefully curated medication for all that aisles, partered with her old boss who was happy to see her bring such a high powered customer to his doors.
So Grey and Peach become lackeys, one happily, the other reluctantly. Their boss is harsh but fair with them, they get into all kinds of altercations, and while they love eachother, its sometimes very bitter sweet. Greys a smart, well spoken sweet guy but his lack of lanes knowledge gets him in trouble sometimes. Plums crazy sure but shes got a sweet side, and takes care of her own well. and Peach is a bruiser, who'll fly off the handle if pushed too hard, but my god do they need someone who knows medicine. Together they cause a lot of trouble.

TW: Mention of child death
This… was not how Sascha had expected his night to go. One moment, he sat before his computer, struggling to edit the latest episode that was due to be released in just a few hours. The next, he was packing to go to fucking Narnia. Ok, not Narnia, maybe Fillory? Either way, he certainly wasn't in Kansas anymore. A thought that he found to be a little less distressing than he probably should have.
He moved as if on autopilot, with his cats Puck and Titania trotting beside him on their leashes. (Yes, he leash trained his cats. No, it isn't weird. You're weird.) Nodding every so often to one creature or another that bowed in his direction as he passed, until he finally set his gaze on the massive temple before him. Not Fillory then… He thought, taking in the obviously Greek architecture. Before he had a chance to chicken out, his cats all but dragged him inside. The pair led him to a statue that seemed to flicker at its edges, almost as if the thing didn't want to be perceived by anyone. The only way he was able to make out any features of the figure was by relaxing his eyes, as if he were looking at one of those Magic Eye pictures from his childhood.
Immediately, he knew exactly who this was, even though she was nameless and certainly wasn't someone he had learned about in school. A whisper that was felt more than heard told him he could call her Despoina, though a quiet ‘mom' escaped his lips as he sank down onto the throne before her. He suddenly realised that he wasn't alone in the temple. In fact, he was one of many apparently experiencing the same existential crisis. Just as he was about to call out to the nearest person, a figure appeared before him and placed a chalice in his hands before disappearing once more. The same voice that had been speaking to him the whole time told him to drink and take his rightful place, but did this mysterious voice have a single clue about what he did in his spare time? He knew what happened when someone drank an unknown liquid, and it was never a good thing… Then came the screaming.
Sascha jumped at the first sound of it. His eyes flicked briefly to the chalice in his hands, worried that he might have spilled something, before he focused on the men around him dropping like flies. He flinched as the sounds crashed against him, fighting against the voice insisting that they would make it through to the other side and emerge stronger from the ordeal. Finally, he threw back his head and swallowed the vile-tasting liquid in a few quick gulps, just so he didn't have to listen to the cries of terror that surrounded him. It started out as an all-too-familiar tingle, as the rush of a panic attack swelled through him. Only to be replaced by a blaze that tore a scream from his lips that he would have never thought possible. He thought, for the briefest moment before unconsciousness claimed him, that he saw a smile appear on the blurred statue of his mother.
He woke up to the sound of wind howling through broken windows and the faint smell of rot. He knew this place, even though he hadn't set eyes on it in nearly three decades. His very first mystery. The old mansion sat tucked deep in the woods behind his house. Seemingly forgotten by everyone in town except for him and any of his friends whom he managed to sucker into listening to the tales he cooked up on sleepless nights. "I heard the family living there dissapeared without a trace!" He exclaimed one day on the playground. Everyone, except for Ricky, knew he was bullshitting them. The kid hung on Sascha's every word as if it were the gospel truth, not the wild imagination of another child. So, of course, he agreed to go on the adventure of a lifetime that weekend.
He watched the scene unfold as if he were living it in the moment and somehow above it all, directing the scene. Though his panicked warnings fell on deaf ears. Overall, the pair found themselves unimpressed with the place. There were no signs of a struggle, no ghost of a final meal left behind after an entire family vanished into the ether. Just a rundown building with very little to offer in terms of something for him to solve. Still, there was one place they hadn't searched, and the younger Sascha just knew in his bones that whatever he was looking for was hiding from them in the attic. It took some convincing, but eventually, they made their way up to the third floor, being careful to avoid any floorboards that appeared unstable. He knew what was coming in this bizarre memory, not memory, and try as he might, he couldn't look away from the scene unfolding around him.
Just as he reached to pull down the ladder, he heard an unfamiliar sound – one he now recognized as the noise of rotten wood crumbling beneath someone. Ricky's sharp intake of air was quickly followed by a dull thud, and suddenly, he was alone. Dropping to his knees, he peered over the edge of the hole that had appeared where his friend had just been. “R-ricky?” While his younger self couldn't see the full extent of the damage, the part of himself that watched on in horror knew that Ricky was already gone after hitting his temple on the corner of a long-discarded piece of furniture in the room below. “I'm going to get help… You stay there!” He cried out before turning to the window at the end of the hall. If he could just find something to shimmy down, he could run home, get his parents, and everything would be okay.
“YOU LEFT ME TO DIE!” The scream shook the glass before him, causing some of the panes to crack with the force of it. Sascha turned to face Ricky once more. His one leg bent at an unnatural angle, and the left side of his face was painted red with the blood that continued to pour from his temple. “I didn't! We needed… You needed help.” He pleaded with his long-dead friend as he backed up until he felt the cool surface of glass behind his back. The divergence in events gave him a sense of vertigo. In real life, he had tried to climb down to get help but only managed to fall and snap his leg in the process. The phantom pain of impact shot through his body, even though he remained, not safely, but firmly on the third floor of the house. “You know what's funny, Sasch?” The dead boy asked, closing the distance between the two of them with shuffling steps. "I solved the one mystery you never will. What comes next.”
Suddenly, he felt like he was flying. Shoved back against the window with such force that he broke through it easily. The sting of glass breaking his skin was forgotten amidst the anticipation of impact. Except it never came. The moment Sascha should have hit the ground, he found himself back in his own body. The reassuring weight of his cats on his chest as he stared up at the now clear face of his mother's statue. “What in the actual fuck was that?!” He asked no one in particular. Choosing to stay on the ground until the sensation of falling finally subsided.
