ALRIGHT SO I was reminded of this today by a lovely mutual when we were discussing the crazy times of early larry. This… well… this was a great time to be in the fandom. It was chaos. I’ll link the original post I found of this back on my blog from 2013 as well, but I want to add my commentary throughout this post just to explain to all you newer larries what the HELL happened here (and that original post is missing one VERY important picture…)

So… if you think we are excellent detectives now, back then we were constantly finding things because there were so many things happening. The boys and their mothers used Twitter as a place to openly chat and talk shit and Jay and Anne were always tweeting each other about larry and everything… but, these tweets were still in the public eye. It just was a different time, and larrry content was still high on Twitter.

However, there were many more platforms available that the boys could use without being directly in the fandom’s eye. This included Pinterest / Blogspot.

Now, we only ever found Harry’s, and we searched for the other boys ones but couldn’t find anything and I doubt they had them. It was very on brand for Harry to have a Pinterest, so, let’s have a little look, shall we?

I screenshotted the first picture below today. This is Harry’s blogger account. This is still up, although the account hasn’t been active since 2013.

The below photo is from the original post about this whole Pinterest thing. We all clicked on it. It was verified and I saw it with my own eyes. It’s not photoshopped

So anyway, let’s start with his blog before we jump into Pinterest. His blog is adorable! There are more articles than just the one below (screenshot taken today, the link to this blog is here)

So anyway, back in the day, he really didn’t receive many comments or anything. It was a pretty quiet little blog, that sadly, didn’t last that long.

So let’s have a squiz at his Pinterest, shall we?

It was lovely to find his Pinterest. Seeing all the things that he liked, that sparked joy for him… it was truly lovely and such a cool way to connect to our boy. Obviously, by the follower count, it was a little more well known when this screenshot above was taken. However… the earlier screenshots from his Pinterest were a… a time to be alive. When we first found it, we went through his boards, and some photos he’d uploaded and pinned. Have a look…

And so… we were all kind of like okay. Wow. What if this is really him? But…. There’s nothing proving it’s him. And then, we got this photo (which I never see floating around anymore, and we hadn’t seen it prior to this). AHEM WHAT IS THIS SIR THIS WAS TRULY WILD

We lost our minds. There was so much stuff on his profile, a picture of a curly haired kid in suspenders, a lot of pride and larry and Louis stuff in a folder called “be happy”, but alas, the mobile app will only let me post 10 pics. But, there was also this little cheeky dig at you know who, which I loooooove

And oh!!! Remember louis’ black tie 21st that Harry threw??? THIS was one of his boards before Louis had turned 21. There was no way a fan guessed he’d be having a black tie 21st.

BUT everything Louis related, whether it be his 21st or that chihuahua or the photo of them together, got deleted soon after we found it. Obviously we freaked out, tumblr had a meltdown, we had some pretty solid larry evidence on our hands. But the old stuff and anything related to Louis or Harry’s sexuality, got deleted and Harry continued to use it for a little while after. Then, the whole acct was deleted. Which… interesting… why would you bother deleting the whole acct? There wasn’t just larry stuff, there was a heap of things that Harry shared and pinned and loved and it was really cool. Would have been a nice little archive. But the larry evidence was too strong. So it got deleted and we only have screenshots, unfortunately.

But, I can assure you, we all clicked on that Pinterest link and we all saw it with our own eyes. It was verified. It was him. This was real. I scrolled through all of those photos. We also found a tumblr very similar, under the same username, but it disappeared around the same time too.

However, the blog didn’t have anything larry on it, so it’s still up. But yeah. There you have it. Some more larry lore that I forgot about until today. Hehe. Original post with some more commentary from my tumblr in 2013 here

@forgotten-pixels oh yeah he definitely has a wikipedia page!! his first single was a pretty big hit and even though his other work hasn't been as mainstream, he's contributed to a bunch of other artists' work so he's still well known in certain circles. i also think he's JUST famous enough to get those weird AI generated articles written about him, like "remember the guy who sang [song title from 15 years ago]? this is him now!!" because he's not well known enough for people to realize it's false / clickbait lmao. (btw you never have to apologize for asking questions!! i love them at any time 🥺)

asa has a regular phone but he may as well not have one at all because he quite literally never charges it or brings it anywhere fjkjsds stevie is the one who's always switching out her phone case & never gets around to putting a screen protector on so her screen is definitely cracked, i think elaine probably loses her phone the most on accident, and jada will say she lost her phone even when it's ringing in her hand because she just doesn't want to answer. if we still had texting limits stevie would use that shit up in half an hour, if that!!

his intentions were good...... his execution however..... leaves a lot to be desired

W1D1 fundies: 1 (software/pūmanawa)

We started to learn more about the differences in-between vector and raster. Vector is drawn lines that form a illustration (usually on PS), these type of illustrations don't lose quality if you zoom in. Raster are pixelated illustrations (usually on Ai) and if you zoom in loses its clean lines and is obviously pixelated, so it is not the best way of making a logo or illustration for a large image. Raster is better suited for images with lots of colours that aren't going to be enlarged (better suited for photos).

We then set up our tumblr accounts, which we will be using to post what we learn every class.

folder stytem:

Hannah Hemi:

project name:

PRJ= project files

IMG= image files (image files: photos, sketches, reference pics etc.)

DOC= documents (any format: cleint brief. vcleint feeback, docment data files, asset lists etc.)

OUT= output folder (pdfs for projects drafts and final pdf go in this folder)

command N for folders = new finder window

save first file in project file with 00 before hand (in renaming), then next one can be 01 and it will make ur files be in chronological order.

illustrator commands

z = zoom (or command+) (drag right or left on z to zoom in or out)

space = pan

/ = clear fill/stroke (stroke is the border, fill is the inside)

x = toggle (swap) fill/stroke

p = pen (get out of pen without closin shape is COMMAND click)

v = selection tool (full arrow = full shape - select all)

A = direct selection tool (hollow arrow = one part - a peice of the shape) (or hold command click)

move, rotate and scale are known as transform

using skills learnt in session:

the illustrator version.

for the first shape i just used pen tool and tried to make sure all the lines stayed all in a line and that the triangle were symmetrical to each other. since the shape wasn't a closed shape i used A tool to click out of using pen tool.

for he diamond i tire to use the guides illustrator has when using the pen tool to make it symmetrical.

for the third shape i drew the shape without the gap first and then used a tool to add anchors in the path allowed me to remove part of the line.

for the fourth shape i used pen tool (P) and then shift to make sure my lines stayed straight and then i tried to make the spacing accurate to the drawings we were given.

for the fifth shape i drew a symmetrical triangle and again used A to make anchors so i could remove part of the path and then i drew the inside spiral part of the triangle, trying to stay symmetrical to the outer triangle shape.

the last shape i created one line with the pen tool and then copied the line so all the lines wee the same length and then i used object - transform - rotate and rotated the lines so they were all on the right angle.

It was fun to try make the shapes and pretty easy to do with all the tools we learnt today

Cole • 4th of July inspired Sim ✨🇺🇸

Hello everyone 🤍

It's been long since I left my last post here. Last post was Valentine's Day 2022. Then university took over, and a large project to go. Very large indeed, which was submitted two days before the deadline. It was extended for some weeks. This benefitted me.

Playing both Sims 3 and 4, trying to keep up with both, I'm getting more and more creative each day. On the second one, on Friday noon, I received my second Maxis fave. After learning and learning and still learning, much more to learn, I was waiting a year and six months to receive one. This made me more than excited and happy, always on the run to respond to all comments. I no longer care about negativity and irrelevance. I try to avoid it or reply to them in a nice way.

...Since this little explanation is Sims 4 related, I'm either trying to post Sims 3 stuff or keep up with both games, mention one of them... uh never mind.

When it comes to 4th of July, I never forget my Tumblr showcase. OF COURSE would I not prepare my readers for this special day? OF COURSE I've kept you all in mind. But this year, instead of the usual "female sim creations" I used to do, I've tried out something different. It WAS hard to make, you get me used on this, it's my kind, a habit I'm used to for years, whenever I create.

This year, this time, I made a male sim and the result turned out satisfying.

Mohatu meets Uchoyo

Oldest pic in the timeline of my TLK universe, Mohatu is a semicanon character and is the grandfather of Mufasa and Scar. Uchoyo is my hyena OC and i was trying to come to an idea of why the hyena/lion conflicts exists in the TLK lore.

I love these 'your camera roll if you were dating x member of Måneskin' as much as the next bitch. I appreciate how much effort people put in to compiling photos that feel domestic and intimate.

However, I am far more contrary than the next bitch. Either you guys:

Are all way better photographers than me

Cull your photos more harshly (a.k.a. being decisive)

Use less angles and filters

Or these pics are from a folder labelled "banging pics of my partner" I don't have an album on my phone labelled that about myself why do you ask

I know tumblr only lets you post 10 pics and they're supposed to be idyllic but a far more realistic one for me would be more like:

Some people do provide funny pics, but I think they miss the super zoomed in screenshot which is definitely used as a reaction image

hi i just love your account! I don't know anything about making gifs, but I'm really looking forward to learning. could you make a simple tutorial on how to make amazing gifs like yours? I would be very happy about that. thanks for listening :)

Hi, thanks for the kind words! :) Very minimal pics, sorry, but I hope I've been detailed and clear enough below. I use Photoshop CS5 on a PC, so my instructions are according to CS5's interface and with PC shortcuts, but I highly doubt it'll be that different from version to version. Feel free to DM me or send another ask if you’re confused about anything.

Download Photoshop CS5/6/CC/whichever of the versions you want. You can probably find a cr4cked version somewhere online. I found mine on Tumblr somewhere but unfortunately, I'm not sure where the original post is anymore :(

Download the video you want to make gifs from. I strongly recommend giffing from sources that are, at minimum, 1080p.

Download an application that can capture frames from videos. I like PotPlayer, but there are other options out there too (I know some people use KMPlayer. VLC and MPV are both also good all-around multimedia player in general, but it's harder to capture frames in them, I think). Alternatively, you can use ffmpeg (this is what I've recently been doing). I think ffmpeg captures frames quickly and consistently. However, it can be confusing to use because it doesn't really have a GUI, and you have to access it through your computer's command line. It's probably easier to use if you already have a little bit of experience with technical stuff.

Figure out how to capture frames with whatever app you go with. You can Google this. Make sure all these frames are saved in one folder and in the order you want the gif to go in!

Open Photoshop, go to File > Scripts > Load multiple DICOM Files... and click on the folder containing your frames in the window that pops up. Then click OK. Your frames will load in PS.

After your frames have loaded, if the bar on the bottom looks like the pic below, that means you're on timeline animation. You want to be on frame animation. Click on the button that I've circled in black on the lower right to do that.

Frame animation mode will look like this.

Click on the button I’ve circled in black on the upper right. From the options menu that comes up, click on Make Frames From Layers. That one frame shown in the top picture should expand into however many frames your gif will be.

There should be a little number on each of your gif’s frames (it’s circled in red). Make sure all those numbers are the same on each frame and change it to whatever you want by clicking on the little down arrow next to it, and then clicking on Other.... I highly recommend using 0.05 or 0.04 seconds because they just look the best. (You can select all frames at once by clicking on the ≡ button on the top right corner of the bar and then clicking Select all frames... from the options list.)

Convert your gif back into timeline animation by clicking the same button you did to convert it into frame animation.

There should be a sidebar where you can see all your frames. It will look something like the image below.

In the Layers panel, right-click (on a frame) > Select Similar Layers > Convert to Smart Object. This should combine all your frames into one smart object.

Crop the gif to whatever dimensions you want. There’s a crop button in PS to do this (fifth button from the top on the pic from the last step). Since Tumblr uses 540px posts, you generally want a gif to be 540px horizontally. Vertically, I wouldn’t make it bigger than about 540px - 600px; otherwise, it gets fuzzy when you post it here. If you want two gifs to be in the same row (i.e. like this format), the horizontal dimension is 268px.

On PS’s top bar, click Filter > Sharpen > Smart Sharpen... and apply your sharpening settings. (Have included a link after these instructions that goes in more detail about this, as well as coloring.) Once the gif has been sharpened to how you like it, click OK. Now your sharpening should be applied to your gif.

Color your gif.

Once your gif looks how you want it to, save it. If you’re on a PC, the shortcut for this is Alt + Shift + Ctrl + S. Alternatively, you can go to File > Save for Web and Devices... and click on it. Saving your gif will take a while, depending on how big it is.

Once your gif is loaded in the save window, click OK. Your gif is now saved.

Optional step: CS5, at least, does a weird thing where the frame delay after you save a gif auto-sets itself to either 0.07 (if you set it to a 0.05 frame delay initially) or 0.03 (if you set it to 0.04) second frame delay. If you care, you can fix this by re-opening your gif and manually changing the frame delay of your gif’s frames to 0.05/0.04 seconds again. You do this exactly the same as the step as when you initially set your gif’s frame delay. Then save it the same way you initially saved your gif, and it will preserve the correct frame delay this time.

For coloring and sharpening, I've answered a lot of questions about that in my tutorial tag. I have also compiled all of my PSDs I've made for Killing Eve into a folder here, so maybe looking at how they're structured or something will also help. Hello everyone!!! How are you today???

I was supposed to bring these poses two days ago, but I forgot to make the post and when i remembered it, i was too lazy to do it haha so, here they are, two days later haha....

I saw these references in pinterest (my main inspo source xD) and i really wanted to make them, so I did it. I don't know who they could be useful to, but I suppose there are many sim families out there with a toddler and an infant as children. So I hope you like them and that they are useful to decorate your family's homes with some cute portraits.

I have many more saved portrait references of all kinds, so I will probably be bringing more in the future, although if you have any suggestion for some "type" of group (for example: 2 children and 1 infant, or 1 infant, 1 toddler and 1 child; or 1 teenager and 2 infants, monoparental or both parents), I would like to know.

help me how do u make ios14 aesthetic

so there are two main apps that people used to make the ios14 look ✨aesthetic✨

1) widgets and 2) shortcuts

for widgets, you first have to download an app called Widgetsmith. the app lets you customise widgets and place them wherever you want. most people use the app to put pictures on their phone, so that’s what i’ll explain.

it’s actually pretty simple to upload a pic and then put it on your homescreen. firstly i have to open the app (duhh!).

the widgets come in three different sizes: small, medium and large. pick the size that best suits the picture. press “ADD [SIZE] WIDGET” and it’ll give you a new widget. click the widget and it’ll give you a similar screen to this:

once again, click on the widget and it’ll bring you into a new page. i’d suggest you play around with the options for a bit. anyways, then you scroll down to somewhere in the middle, and under the “custom” section should be a widget template labelled “photo.”

click that and upload the photo!

to get it on your homescreen is easy too. put your phone in “jiggle mode” (when all the apps jiggle and one click could remove an app’s entire existence) and in the top right where the battery should be you’ll see a plus sign instead.

click the plus sign! in the new screen it gives you, find the widgetsmith app. pick the size of the picture you uploaded previously and then it will give you a small/medium/large widget! if it isn’t the photo you desired, long press the widget. a screen will pop up; click the name of the widget and then it’ll come up with a list of your other widgets under that size. pick the one you desire and bam! done!

(here’s a set of pics if you’re kinda confused: these should be the screens - note that the first pic would be the widget i didn’t want - that they show you. click for better quality)

(there’s also this thing where if you drag two of the same sized widgets on top of each other you can make a folder like you can with the apps. unlike the app folder, all you do is swipe up and down for the next widget.)

on another note, there are also Shortcuts. shortcuts are how you customise what an app looks like and what it’s titled. just scroll up a smidge and you’ll see that i customised some apps like discord, spotify and pinterest.

you do this with an app called shortcuts; if you deleted it cuz you were like “the hell is this app?” yeah i did that too just download it again.

after you’ve reinstalled it, (i suggest making a new folder for this) the first thing to do is click the plus sign. it’s located under your battery and next to the “Edit” option.

you’ll be taken to a new screen. click “Add Action” and then choose “Scripting” a new screen will pop up. pick “Open App” (it should be the first suggestion). then click “Choose” and pick the app you desire to change the appearance of.

after selecting that app, give it a “Shortcut Name” and press add to homescreen. it’ll bring you another page. on this page you finalise the name you want to call it and then press the image next to it. choose the photo you desire and then press “Add.”

(this should be a similar screen to what you’d see. the only main differences should be the shortcut name and the image.)

the newly customised app is now on your homescreen! replace the original app with this app by going onto jiggle mode and clicking “Move to App Library”

and then you continue doing that with all the widgets you want and all the apps you wish!

i hope this made sense! i would’ve added more pictures to help make sense of things but tumblr has a “10 pictures per post” thing.

random headcanons i have for each om! character teehee

hi it's been a while since ive posted some hcs bc uni has been kicking my a$$! luckily i only have a few papers to tidy up and im done. here r some hcs for each obey me character that ive accumulated over the past few months wink wonk

most are random but some constants you'll find are what i think they smell like, languages they can speak (other than their native (demon/angel) and eng/jp), and music tastes !

lucifer

i have a strong feeling that he showers twice a day: in the morning after waking up and at night before going to bed

his cologne is probably the type that will last in an elevator for like a week after he uses it once. i dont think this mf ever smells like anything other than his cologne

has a secret folder on his phone of semi-nudes and other scandalous pics from when he felt sexy at the time omg

aside from demon language/eng/jp he can speak french and knows latin

listens to classical stuff yea but he also listens to diavolos mixtapes (re: diavolo's section)

not a fan of sweets but will eat sweet things when craving

really bland sense of humor...borderline cringey 😭✋🏻

mammon

has gone to google images and searched for "inspirational quotes tumblr" "gold aesthetic tumblr" & "relatable crush post tumblr" then reposts it onto his socials or just taps thru them and giggles bc he relates

his cologne doesnt last as long as lucifers and probably smells common. he has to reapply a lot but it's a people pleasing smell. it's cheaper hence the constant reapplying

he probably does have an expensive bottle but is the type to totally overspray...eek

he is canonically a car guy 🥲 and probably tells the one in his room good morning & good night + kisses the hood every once in a while. has tons of car magazines

he doesnt really speak other languages but has attempted to learn spanish before

listens to whatever is on the radio. doesnt rly stan anyone but he eventually will listen to mc's playlist and mc's playlist ONLY

lurks on mc's socials ALL THE TIMEEEE like he will rewatch ur stories and scroll thru ur feed and overanalyze ur tweets/rts or blog posts. if ur mc isnt the type to use sns much he still googles ur name all the damn time just to find any sites u might be on fjdjdjdjskks

probably streams on whatever youtube or twitch devildom site equivalent there is, but only has like 40 or so followers. which he is okay with!

until he sees someone else who gets more attention than him. then the envy starts kicking in bad. especially if they suck 🧍🏻‍♀️

classic gamer boy smell. you know, sweat, tears, must, and (sometimes) axe deodorant. lucifer has to do a scent check before he goes out to any event & lets him use his cologne. how sweet!

kpop stan!! more girl groups than anything and his ults are probably GIRLS GENERATION, wonder girls, twice, loona, & red velvet

cried when ioi disbanded and refused to leave his room. the only thing u could hear was downpour on loop at full blast

can also speak korean & communicate in echolocation like dolphins 😏

smells like whatever environment he is in. he doesnt really have a designated smell just throws some deodorant on and goes about his day.

he's sooooo bad at driving...gets road rage way too often so his license has been REVOKED

but hes totally a backseat driver. needs to be sedated on long trips

do not let him watch finding nemo when luke asks to watch it. it's not worth it. he will cause mass destruction.

if he was a human or lived long term in the human world he totally has the ability to be a doctor

is studying as many languages as possible, but he mostly knows latin & french & german etc etc. wants to learn all the dead languages out of curiousity

dont think this mf has ever held down a relationship. ever

he doesnt compromise much & is not willing to change his lifestyle to fit an s/o into it. you keep up with how he lives or it just isnt meant to be (but dont worry! he'll eventually learn...maybe,,,,)

has the hardest time out of everyone when it comes to breaking bad habits

his smell varies bc he uses a variety of perfumes (whatever is the most popular at the time) but he probably sticks to floral and fresh scents. he never uses generic people pleaser scents like mammon

listens to electropop, mainstream pop, & some alternative rock

as for languages he too knows french, spanish, italian, etc. in general, if it's a romance language he knows it!

opposite of lucifer in the sense where he loves sweets and will refrain from eating too many bitter things

i think we all know that asmo is the biggest rockstar of the group! he's probably been in a boy band at least once, but now he makes his own music

has tried to teach mammon how to sing once. ended up in a broken piano and bleeding ears...

beel

i feel like he is SO SHY

like unless ur close to him he will not start conversations or anything

i think he listens to r&b a lot ! and jazz 😎 maybe rock as well

smells like ur typical athlete with undertones of wet wipes. he carries them around bc he likes to clean his hands before he eats & is prepared for when theres no sink nearby

he can drive and he drives really well. no rough turns, parallel parks perfectly, and never has problems with merging

driving with beel is probably really soothing. left hand is steering the other is gripping ur thigh 😫

dont think hes really fluent in any other language but hes probably semi fluent in korean because levi wanted beel to help him out

definitely know how to order food in practically every language tho HAHAHA

smells kinda musty IM SORRY but not the way levi does hes more like the kind of musty u feel or smell when it's a shitty morning

but that's only because hes so lazy, when he cleans up hes like satan

with that being said belphie has been put into prison at least twice when visiting the human world, the mf had such a strong hatred for humans theres no way he never got into trouble before

lucifer probably broke him out and they used the pen thingies from men in black to erase everyones memory of that 🙄

dont think he listens to anything other than music that'll put him to sleep. really likes lazy song by bruno mars but thinks that bruno mars put too much effort into the song. should have been one acapella verse and then finish

similar to beel hes only semi fluent in one language, probably french bc of lucifer. doesnt remember much but knows a couple of lullabies and bedtime stories

the sandman used to be his bff until they drifted. they do, however, like and comment on each other's sns posts.

choreographs dances when hes stressed...idk just seems like a diavolo thing to do

also makes rly bad soundcloud rap music sometimes. turns to poetry when hes feeling emo but only lucifer knows this. barbatos is suspicious of him but doesnt have enough evidence to confirm.

his dad is like hudson abadeer from adventure time aka marceline's dad? something must have influenced him to want to unite the 3 realms + he would need the approval to do so, so his dad must be more chill than all the others before him 🧍🏻‍♀️ IDK ok anyway

currently going through his hamilton phase bc of mc. whether mc's intent was to get him hooked onto it or just to explain it bc of something he saw online, he tells everyone that he found out abt it bc of mc!

on a more angsty note i feel like he might have had his heartbroken sO BAD IDK he is hurting and maybe that's why hes so willing to obey diavolo and not abuse his time lord power thingies bc he learned his lesson the hard way

mans is so smart he knows every language you could switch languages mid conversation with him and he wouldnt be thrown off. he'd probably start speaking it too.

was probably on kitchen nightmares once, but only to get feedback from chef gordon ramsay. then he used his magic to prevent the episode from airing...

was in an orchestra, one of the best times of his life. played the violin. asmo watched him in the audience once, but didnt approach him until well after that performance.

he CANNOT sing. he can, however, rap.

doesnt listen to music. he listens to podcasts! but every now and then he turns on background music, but prefers it to be instrumental stuff

never wears sunglasses. also does not have a driver's license. cannot drive a regular car. could maybe fly an airplane.

due to his immortality he has learned almost every language to exist, but finds himself speaking mandarin the most. knows most dialects too

has no signature smell. he simply smells like your favorite scent all the time. if multiple people are around him at once, everyone smells a different smell. it's pretty rad

luke

his first pet was a goldfish and a few months before the exchange program happened, he was given a koi pond!

secretly likes hanging out with levi sometimes just to play with henry. makes him miss his pet fish back home

so his favorite movie is probably finding nemo and he threw a fit when nemo touched the butt

luke is probably learning german bc of simeon, though he'd like to learn more of the dead languages just for fun

i dont think he listens to music often or has any preferences, he just listens to whatever is playing on the radio

but he finds himself listening to the music mc listens to

smells like freshly baked goods all the time. or fresh laundry. but like, not combined. just depends on the day

Brain update

First, let me say that this isn't about what anybody has done. My reactions are not in proportion to anything that has happened, and might be considered odd, weird and sensitive to people involved.

So let me explain.

I'm an Aspie (what we call ourselves in Sweden), on the autism spectrum. Yeah, might have guessed that from the story I'm writing, Sidestep is not the only one trying to figure out how people work.

Over the years I have built up an arsenal of knowledge and analysis to be able to pretend to be neurotypical, something that I can manage alright most days, but which breaks down once you get to know me better. I'm open with this at my current job, and luckily both my bosses seem to be okay dealing with open communication and just telling me what I need to do.

It was not always like this, and that is one of the reasons why I had a breakdown and needed to get off discord/tumblr.

Back in the late nineties, I had finally got my dream job. I was a product developer in the food industry, part of a rather small department of middle-class academics. I was the new hire, everyone else had worked there for years, and things were going well. Or so I assumed. I got cool projects, got along well with one of the sales people, and well, my boss was weird but bosses always are.

Three years later. Our parent company wanted to sell us off, everyone was starting to get worried about their job. We tried to expand into things were weren't equipped to do (you don't bring spices into a fruit jam line, will be hell to clean) and while I did the projects, I also raised an (in retrospect) too big stink about the fact that we were wasting time developing things we couldn't produce without expanding. My boss (who I had learned was a devout christian) started to get really weird, I got called in and he wondered if I was a member of a cult (I was often wearing a headscarf at the time because pressure on my head is good for stress relief). I also got told off for wearing army boots to work (we had lab shoes in the lab), because (I kid you not) if we had danish visitors to the lab (we didn't have visitors) they could be offended since they had once been occupied by Nazis. Yes, at the time I was an Antifa metalhead/satanist, it was a very volatile time in sweden and nazis were everywhere. Now they're a political party, go figure.

It all came to a head when I was confronted with a folder one of the secretaries of the department had where she had written down every odd and strange thing that I did, and there were a lot of accusations of things I quite frankly blocked out. Around this time I was suffering from bad burnout, had memory loss, my hair was falling out and I lost two bikes because I forgot where I parked them. All because of workplace hostility.

So for the first time ever, I went to the company doctor, who immediately sent me on a one month sick leave, and gave a reference to a therapist. When I went and told my boss, his reaction was "It can't be anything at work," in a dismissive tone. I wrote my resignation right then and there, left the building, snuck back a Saturday to clean out my stuff so I didn't have to meet anyone. Luckily I was backed up by my union, so I got unemployment despite quitting, and the therapist helped me get back on my feet and hook me up with some antidepressants.

Still, I was a wreck for years.

At the time, I had NO idea I was an Aspie. It weren't talked about, the only thing I knew about Autism, was from the various portrayals in movies, and well, in the nineties you can guess. Rainman pretty much was it.

What destroyed me the most was not that people disliked me, I didn't like them either, we didn't have anything in common, and middle-class people always scared me. No, what broke me was the fact that my system failed.

See, I had built up myself over ten years into someone I wanted to be. Smart. Capable. Metalhead. Researcher. Activist. I thought I knew the rules. How to interact.

It turned out I knew nothing. People had been talking behind my back for years, and I didn't know. Getting annoyed by my ticks, and I had no idea. Nobody ever brought anything up to my face until it exploded one day out of the blue. This is why I have ranted about anons on this tumblr. This is why I have been so openly against passive aggressive posts and bullying, especially the anonymous kind, because it destroys people and I don't think the people who does it knows the impact they can have. I hope they don't.

I have never gone back to the lab. I can't. I'm having heart palpitations just thinking about it when I'm writing this. I retrained. Became a machinist. Back to the working class I came from. Eventually started writing.

And this is exactly what these last months have felt like.

I thought I understood things. I was pretty open with being old, an Aspie, not understanding memes, or humor, or tik tok, or certain aspects of people's behavior like jealousy, but the problem with joking about this is that it's so easy to take as just a joke. That I'm just making fun of myself (oh it's that too). I got advice from some of you, which I ignored, because I thought that I could be different. That there was no danger in getting close. That I could be just another voice in the crowd. An occasionally evil avocado. That this couldn't blow up in my face, that everything was cool.

And then it did. And I was wrong. And the talking started, and things were coming out that I had no idea that was going on. That I was being held responsible for. Opinions that were spoken in my name. Events I was supposed to have been aware of and supported. All of a sudden I was omniscient, aware of the true passive aggressive meaning of every reblog, aware of every post in every room in the discord I wasn't even running. Wasn't even a mod on. All of a sudden I had power, and I had used it to hurt people. The people I cared about. Everything I wrote was taken in the worst possible way, twisted into things I never meant, and the more I tried to talk to people, the worse it went.

Look. I know this was at heart a war between people that just doesn't like each other and the things they do/the ways they behave. I'm still not entirely sure who's been involved, and I'm not interested in finding out. I tried to build a supportive space, reblog everyone's art and fics, encourage people to make their own things, get a kofi, get some money, make some friends.

And herein lies my problem.

I thought I understood how to be, and now I don't. I have no idea who hates my guts and who doesn't (well, except some who has very vocally let me know). I can't trust anything. I can't trust anyone. And it sucks. Someone I trusted stabbed be in the back because they were convinced I stabbed them in the back and that sucks more than I can describe. Every time I make a comment on AO3 or twitter it's after psyching myself up for half an hour, and I'm usually a wreck afterwards, because my brain doesn't know if they hate me too, and if I am imposing on them and making their day bad.

So yeah. I need to figure out how to be. How not to have a nausea attack every time I accidentally click open tumblr from pure reflex, looking away from the screen just not to see how may messages I have.

I never wanted to be the aloof author, but maybe I have to be. The question is if I can. I have been told I can't comment on pics or fics, because then I have favorites. And that makes people jealous. And it makes people think I take sides. I have been told I can't be on the discord, because then I will be held responsible for what the mods do there, and everything that's said even when I'm not around. I should apparently have someone manage the tumblr, it's not something that I, an author should do.

I now understand the authors who just stay away and remain distant, because people give themselves the power to write the narrative for you.

Part of me wants to tell people what I've told my current bosses, don't assume, just talk to me. I don't pick up/do passive aggression, I don't understand hints, I have trouble with nuance, I don't listen to gossip, I don't interact enough to know anything that's going on. Just ask before assuming.

Except that right now I can't. I can't talk about any of this. It's too close. It sets me off. It's getting better, sure, I'm on medication again, but the smallest thing still can ruin my entire day. I have no idea how long it will take me to recover and come back to some semblance of normality. I'm not posting this myself (my partner does). Writing is going well, because it lets me not be myself. I need those walls again. The therapy of writing about pain.

I'll rebuild them. I'm not entirely sure who I'll be on the other end of it. We'll see.

I have consciously not spoken about any details because those could be misunderstood, this is not a passive aggressive callout to anybody. I have no hard feelings towards anyone, I am not angry or upset, just confused and sad. I am truly so very, very, very sorry that I've hurt people, both by action and inaction. It was never my intention. I will do my best to do better in the future.

Still working on how to do that.

Writing is work

As some of you might have noticed, I decided to quit writing fic.

As a part of the process, I emptied my WIP folder, editing some existing fragments of drafts into a readable form and posting them on my ao3 account under a separate writer pseudonym (I don't really get how useful the side pseuds are tbh, it still shows your main pseud and the works are listed together, but I still created one.)

These works are prime examples of the distinction between the part of writing that is purely for self-indulgent fun and the part of writing that is sit-on-your-ass-and-grind-it work.

The posted drafts are the part that is fun. The part that inspired me to start, the part that amused and excited me.

You can see it exceptionally clearly in the 830-word hockey RPF Music AU Crawdaddy (link to a locked fic on Ao3; I will cross-post the fic on Tumblr later and add a link to that.)

It has all the fun parts: The aesthetic vibe that inspired it. The beginning from the POV's of two different characters because I couldn't decide. Description of my favorite character. A handful of lines of dialogue and fragments of scenes that made me smile when I got the idea and wanted write it down.

It's a little like a movie trailer, or a synopsis: you get the overall idea and the gist of the story but it is not a complete story.

What is lacking is the writing that would be work, a whole lot of words (at least 3K, perhaps 4K - 5K) that would make it a story:

Some backstory, why are Pekka and Juuse a duo, maybe some context for the title: is Crawdaddy the name of their duo, was it the name of Pekka's former band, is it the name of one of their gig venues? Or is it just a label, do we need an explanation?

The emotional plot, relationship development. Is this a friends to lovers story? Or established relationship? Or almost-gen, with a hint of a slow-burn friends-to-lovers ending? Show, don't tell: situations with Sebastian that lead to Juuse's suspicions and jealousy.

The overall plot. How does Pekka's accident happen? Who is Josi and why are they arguing with him over money? What happens with Pekka's drinking? Does it need to be solved within this story? Does it need more plot, more scenes, to show the strain and the rush of touring?

A whole lot of research, how would the kind of accident that I write be dealt with? Is the hand-wavy way it is now enough? Language check! Am I using the right words and idioms: check, double-, triple check, do I need a native beta?

Of course, it is enjoyable work because writing is my favorite way of creating, but it is work, time-consuming, brain-possessing. Of course, the grid-it-out part is present in all hobbies - sports, art, music. I don't mean that writing should be devoid of it.

But, you know, someday some writer somewhere comes to the conclusion that hey, I'm not going to invest all of that into this anymore. I have already proved to myself that I can bring a complete story to conclusion.

Why do it again and again when there is another option? I can just as well choose to cherry-pick the fun: headcanon and chatfic with friends on DMs, daydream, collect pics for moodboards I will never have to show anyone. As means of fandom connection, it is just as valid and just as rewarding (in relation to the trouble, maybe even more rewarding.)

I wrote and posted over 60 complete stories before my decision to stop. A ton of great writers, more talented and skilled than I could ever have aspired to be, keep carrying the torch, producing fic for our enjoyment and entertainment.

Photographers Workflow – Capture to Output

For this project I’ve used my Alphabet City exercise

CAPTURE – To capture the images I used a combination of college cameras, Canon Eos 550D / Canon Eos 2000D / Canon Eos 450D and my mobile phone (Huawei P20 Pro).

The images were taken in both jpeg and RAW with various resolutions depending on camera and whether in RAW or jpeg. The resolutions varied from 862x1008 to 2026x2617 for example.

The aperture, shutter speed and Iso varied depending on conditions of surroundings when taking image, for example sunny or cloudy day, well lit or not so well-lit building, in shade or not.

IMPORT – All images were transferred over to my laptop from either the SD card from the camera(s) or directly transferred from my phone, connected to my laptop. All images have also been saved onto 2 x external drives and the cloud to ensure that if lost on any of these devices, images can still be retrieved from others. The images have been saved into a folder named Alphabet City and then sub-folder Originals.

EDIT – From the original folder I chose the best images for each letter of the alphabet, after cropping and rotating as required they were saved to another sub-folder within the Alphabet City folder – Cropped and Edited.

OPTIMISE – Where necessary images were optimised in Adobe Photoshop Express to enhance the visibility of the letter in the photo. I used noise reduction and sharpening to a small degree, also dehaze and vitality. In some images I enhance blacks or whites to show the letter more clearly or just adjusted the contrast a little.

EXPORT – All cropped / edited / optimised images were saved to the sub-folder cropped & edited and again saved to various external drives and the cloud.

OUTPUT – Once I had completed editing / optimising images to my satisfaction I made a collage using pic-collage, because of the limitations of this and because having too many images on one collage could make the images too small to view properly, I decided to make 5 collages 4 with 5 images and the final one with 6 images accounting for all 26 letters of the alphabet. These 5 collages were then posted to Tumblr 05 September 2021.

the shadows are not as noticeable, the transparency between the walls is not there and the blur is gone (i have miiko´s ghibli's cloud override but i had that on my old computer and the reshade still looked normal) idk if it's the game or the reshade but it sucks bc i love how the original looks like anyways it would be really helpfull if you could answer. hi hi! thanks for the kind message and i hope your year is going well! if I had to take a guess, I would say that maybe some of your settings in-game have changed? I would double check and make sure you’ve got edge smoothing off, and you could try turning off post-processing as well (im not ACTUALLY sure if turning off post processing does anything but it’s worth a shot!) otherwise i would try removing the preset and redownloading it? maybe the settings of the preset got jacked up and you can fix it by re-installing. let me know if this helps! if not, then you can always dm me so i can see pics of your situation!

Hi! Sorry if this is worded odd but I just downloaded your Leif reshade and have completed all the steps, however there is still this blur over the screen which isn't the best for game play. If you could help explain how to toggle it for gameplay/cas that would be great :)

hi hi! the blur is the DoF (depth-of-field). it’s used for taking screenshots and is supposed to make the background all blurry. to disable it, you can use the hotkey shift-2 or open the reshade menu and manually untick the DoF option!

Hi, i just installed the latest version of the dove preset and my game is dark. It is the MXAO that is doing it but i don't have the preprocessor definitions box. How do i fix it?

hello! im assuming you have a 4.0 version of reshade if you can’t find the box. in this version, it’s a blue tab called “Edit Global Preprocessor Definitions” beneath all the toggleable effects. if you have an earlier version, it should be under the “settings” tab at the top though.

Hello!! Thank you so much for your work! I have a really quick question - so I am trying to work with the reshade and got it all set but when I play around with it, my objects don’t look “rounded”. If that makes sense. Other people who use it, their objects look rounded and smooth and just different (I have an image for reference) but mine just looks like the normal objects just different colors. Is there something I’m missing or doing something wrong? I have all the settings correct. :)

I would double check to make sure you have this line in your preprocessor definitions: RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED = 0 this line should equal 0 for the mxao to work properly. that might give you the “rounded” look. if this doesn’t fix it for you then you should go ahead and dm me so i can see what the game looks like!

Hey, I tried your Dove preset but my game just can't handle it, it's pretty old and I just have to uninstall the reshade (even though I really loved the effect) but I'm scared to do anything in the Game folder or delete anything. Could you please help me with what to remove? I'm scared to break my game if I delete something that souldn't be deleted :( I tried searching for this in your WCIF and reshade questions and couldn't find an answear. Please help

hello! sorry to hear that your game can’t handle the preset :( here’s to hoping you can get an upgrade in the future! anyhow, to uninstall; i believe you only need to remove

ReShade - config settings (it’ll have a little paper w/ gear next to it)

d3d9.dll - application extension (it’ll have a little paper w/ gears ON it)

d3d9 - text document (little paper w/ lines icon)

reshade-shaders - folder

your reshade presets - config settings (if you remove the files above first though, you won’t be able to use/see these in-game)

that should uninstall reshade from your game! and don’t worry, if you accidentally remove something you didn’t want to, you can “verify your game files” through origin and that should restore any missing files. unless you.. *ahem*... acquired your game through other means... in which case be careful XD

Omg I don't know if you are active or not but I'm having some problems. So I downloaded the 3.0.8 and it was going smoothly but I loaded the game it said that magic bloom had issues.

i don’t know if im active either. probably not tbh XD but im here now so here ya go! i would recommend deleting the shaders you’re having problems with and then putting back the 3.0.8 shaders you downloaded. it’s really easy for things to break / be incompatible during the install so your best bet is always to delete the ones giving you trouble and put the new ones in.

hi! I’ve been jealously stalking your page for a while, because I’m in love with the dove preset, but I’m very confused about how to download it. My computer keeps marking it as a virus, so i was kinda scared to download it. and when i finally did, it didn’t show up in my game. could you walk me through how to download it?(i have a pc laptop)

Hello, I've been trying to fix the dove reshade for a long time, but the new version just doesn't support it, and the old version spoils the game and sometimes it won't even start ... Would you consider trying to make the same preset version for the latest reshade version? I'll be very grateful because your preset is the most beautiful I have ever seen?! 😘😂Don't know if you still play of work on your game but like I said if you have time to try make new one couse everyone was looking for it!!! 😉😘😘😘

hi hi! i totally understand not using the earlier versions--these later ones are soo much more user friendly!--but i’ve been able to get the preset to work with later versions (4.7.0 is the latest i’ve tried though) and it looks, if not the same, then very close to the original. I have a video here explaining how i did it if you’re really eager to have it

in the future i guess i could try to re-release the preset? i can’t give you an eta bc im lazy and i fall off the face of the earth regularly, but i do think it would help to have updated instructions right on the face of the download.
