so im not sure if anyones interested, but, i went through quite a bunch of totk critiques by people who were also very disappointed with it and thought id share my favorite videos i found (granted, i only really wachted those that youtube recommened and its mostly .. white men... things like the orientalism problem are not mentioned at all for example, maybe ill update this post if i find any more diverse voices)
i dont agree with every single point and also dont know most of the channels (aside from the big zelda theory guys) so i judged solely by what they mentioned in those videos and the quality of it (like the audio .. bc i cant listen to bad audio)
in no particular order, also they talk about or use footage of the literal ending stuff so if you arent done with the game yet, better leave these for now
(the following one is a podcast thing by multiple zelda theory guys, there some stuff you can skip at the start thats just kidna random things, but the video is marked with chapters)
(theres some mention of some things not making sense, like the sonau only being two, and ithink thats kinda bc the english translation was weirdly vague about that, in the german version its much more directly said that they all died out and only rauru and mineru were left of them;
also mentions of how unfitting it is to call the enigma stones "secret"stones in english might come from a similar thing; in german they where called "Mysterienstein" which would be translated as mystic/mysterious/enigma- stone
just wanted to mention that since the vast majority are gonna play it in english only and the stuff online is also dominated by english)

maybe im projecting but instead of mizora being weirdly psychosexual with wyll or just being a right bastard for no reason, mizora could've been like a "doting" mother figure to wyll. he never knew his mother, he doesn't know what it should actually be like. bc of this, it's easier to lure him in. she's the opposite of ulder: overly present, but suffocating. wyll still gets isolated, he still does monster hunting work for her (and for the "good" of the coast). it's not an outright mother-son relationship, neither of them truly call it that, but it's there.

When asked how Oklahoma leadership would deal with 2slgbtq+ hatecrimes in schools, in the context of a literal child being murdered in Owasso this month, one of our senators stated:
"I represent a constituency that doesn't want that filth in Oklahoma [...] We are a religious state and we are going to fight it to keep that filth out of the state of Oklahoma because we are a Christian state – we are a moral state."
To be clear the "filth" he is referring to is the 2slgbtq+ student who was murdered.
Shame on Oklahoma leadership and shame on everyone who supports them.

reading animorphs sequentially instead of in whatever random order you can get your hands on them is such a trip because you can see these kids getting progressively better at war and worse at being happy, you can see how traumatic events from one book echo into the next ones but never quite get dealt with because these kids have no real way to take care of their mental health, you can see their relationships deepening but simultaneously gaining friction and faultlines as they learn just how far they'd go for each other but also how far they'd go in general...
obviously this series was meant to be episodic in nature, and i actually think that might be the better way to first encounter it, but the arc of the series in publication order is extremely well-crafted
