"Do you want me to carry you?" for the rarepair of your choice.
Julie jumped down from the tree, giving a whistle that the coast was clear. They had just narrowly avoided the brigands, and she wanted to keep it that way.
Kayla came trotting over, glancing this way and that. She was right to be wary, as a centaur she was a bit more conspicuous and also, highly prized by those who collected magical creatures for sport.
“Well that was a fine waste of our time,” she stated.
“Wasn’t in the mood for a battle and I’m almost out of arrows,” Julie explained. “Rather wait and be cautious than act and be dead. Plus Gardier isn’t going anywhere.”
“No but the daylight is,” Kayla replied wryly. “So let’s get going while we can still see the path.”
Off they went-trying to make up for lost time but there was no racing the encroaching sunset.
Hopefully they made it before dark, as once the sky turned black all town gates were closed, and no one wanted to sleep on the road. Sure Night Gaunts were a myth, but neither of them wanted to test it.
Gardier was a refuge for those sought after by malevolent forces-and impossible to find if you don’t know the way. Julie however had won a map to there (maybe using loaded dice, but she’d never tell) and this, that was their destination.
However as the sun grew lower and lower in the sky she began to worry-they were still so far off. And her energy was flagging after hours of walking and evading trouble.
“Do you want me to carry you?” Kayla offered. “I can gallop a lot faster than this.”
“Isn’t that beneath your dignity as a noble centaur?” Julie asked.
“Not if it’s you,” Kayla replied. “Come on, we’re running out of daylight.”
Julie hopped on, holding tight as Kayla took off, racing the dying light and the pressing darkness.
A mere sliver of red painted the sky by the time the gate came into view, so Kayla dug for the last of her endurance to get there.
Julie jumped off, and pounded on the wood as hard as she could, pleading to be let in as the stars blinked into view.
“You know the rules, no admittance after dark,” came a gruff voice. “No exceptions.”
“Please, you saw us coming!” Julie begged. “At least let my friend in, she’s a centaur.”
Julie hated using Kayla as a bargaining chip, but if it meant her safety, then that’s what it came to.
“Julie no!” Kayla hissed. “I shan’t leave you here all night!”
“I’ll be alright, I’m a survivor,” Julie replied.
Yet the gate didn’t budge.
“We both are,” Kayla said resolutely. “We’ll find some place else. Some place better.”
“No place better than Gardier!” Came an indignant voice, then the creak of the gate cracking open. “Well get in, the both of you!”
Kayla smirked, taking Julie’s hand as they walked into the city of safety. “Knew it would work,” she murmured. “Prideful though they may be.”
“Let’s just find someplace to sleep,” Julie said around a yawn.
“Agreed,” Kayla stated, then pulled Julie onto her back once more. “You’re practically asleep on your feet, let me carry you.”
“You’ve carried me enough,” Julie protested.
“Like you didn’t carry me by always being vigilant and taking out those who would do me harm,” Kayla replied. “Sleep Julie, let me take care of you for once.”
So Julie let her eyes close, and soon drifted off, the gentle rhythm of Kayla’s hooves easing her into slumber and dreams of a brighter tomorrow.

——————————————————————————
You sat back, sipping on your cool mimosa while you watched Chris converse with your friends.
He was taking the grilling pretty well so far but you knew he'd be able to handle it. He was quick on his feet and charming as ever and you could see your friends start to see that exactly as you had when you first met him.
"You guys are so cute, it's gross and I love it!" one of your friends, Kayla rolled her eyes playfully when Chris excused himself for a second to answer a call, not before kissing your cheek.
"Thank you, I love being gross too. What do you guys think?"
You were a little worried they might be seeing red flags that you were clouded with strong feelings for but their feedback was more of the same great sentiments you'd been hearing from them whenever you talked about your relationship.
"Well first off, that man is entirely too fine and I think you scored with this one. We can tell he supports you, especially in your side job and you being a little. Plus, I mean the way that man looks at you makes me wanna fall in love, goddamn!" Lael chimed in, pushing her Gucci sunglasses to the top of her head.
"The important thing is that he's treating you like you deserve cause the last white man you dated...I know it's in the past but girl, it's on sight if I ever come across him again. I ain't afraid of an assault charge!"
That would be Liv, loyal till the end. All of you started laughing but you knew she meant it and you appreciated her protectiveness of you.
You went through a lot in a previous relationship and these girls were everything to you, especially during that time, so Chris passing their vibe check was important to you.
He eventually came back to the table, another round of questions at the ready which he handled like a pro, one of his hands not far from your thigh the entire time.
Chris was quickly coming to admire your friends for how much they cared about you and how they didn't mince words but were still welcoming to him. Your friends weren't fake, they may be a little starstruck because of who he is but he could tell they saw through that initial perception, and no doubt you'd been gushing to them about all your dates and your feelings about him.
He felt more sure about you and this relationship than ever before now that he'd met with your friends. Your family would be another deal but your friends were another version of family too and that meant a lot to have their approval.
On your way back to your place from brunch, you had to remind Chris to pay attention to the road because he kept looking over at you with a grin.
"Soon as you stop being the most beautiful woman I've ever seen."
Now it was your turn to smile, he was always dropping little lines like that which rattled around in your head for weeks afterward, collecting in your mental folder of cute things he did and said.
"Love you too, Chris."
---
Lots of discussions had been had about when you felt like you wanted to go public with your relationship and Chris suggested that if you were comfortable he'd love to take you to a premiere of a new movie of his coming up.
"You definitely don't have to say yes, I'm ready whenever you are. I just wanna show you off and bring you into my world a little more since you let me into yours."
There he went, making you all soft and mushy on the inside.
You contemplated it, weighing your options and the buzz it would certainly create and if you were ready for that.
It made you a little nervous, to say the least, you'd interviewed stars before sure but this felt like such a bigger step and you were worried people would say you were just trying to use him to climb the social ladder or get in his bank account.
Chris could tell you were probably thinking of all the things people would be saying and he was quick to take your hands, leading you over to sit down with him, which looked more like you being in his lap because that was his favorite place for you to be.
"You don't have to do anything you're uncomfortable with, you know that, Cherry? I wanna protect you and make sure you're happy and we can hold off. But if you do want to, remember it's just you and me. Nobody can tell us shit."
He was right, you could feel it. He'd have your back against anything negative coming your way, he fiercely protected and cherished you and truly, nobody could say a thing, they didn't know you like he did.
You were pulled from your thoughts by raspberries being blown on your arms, making you giggle along with the feel of his beard against your skin.
"I think I wanna go with you. Wearing a fancy dress and being on your arm sounds like a dream. Plus I really wanna see your new movie. I trust you."
Your last few words made him smile back at you. Your trust was crucial, it was everything to him so knowing he had it made his heart swell.
Chris just wanted to take care of you, bottom line.
"I'm glad to hear that, little one. You don't have to worry about a thing, I've got it covered."
You knew he meant it in general but was quite surprised that he actually meant it in this case too when you got home one day to see a wide white and black Chanel box on top of your bed and a smaller one down on the floor.
Chris would be coming by later but a note attached to the box let you know he wanted to surprise you with this first.
"I hope you love it, I can't wait to see it on you."
Carefully diving into the box you set aside the ribbons holding everything together, gasping when your eyes landed on the shimmery pink fabric of a dress.
It was airy and soft to the touch, even had pockets! Your jaw dropped as you carefully picked up the thin straps and let the dress fall to its full size before you. You'd never worn a dress this beautiful before despite the amount of designer stuff in your closet.
Maybe it was because Chris chose it but something about it just felt so special, so spot on to what you'd go for if you were to pick something out.
Hurrying to try it on, you realized there were tiny red cherries embroidered along the edge of wear the zip was and you could almost cry at the detail.
Chris had that custom placed just for you of course and it felt even more special and personalized, almost like he was saying that all parts of you would be coming along with him in this journey.
You never wanted to take it off. It felt so comfortable, so easy to wear and you felt like a princess walking around your place, swishing the skirts of the dress back and forth.
The smaller box sitting on your floor was a matching pair of strappy heels, studded with red and green crystals that you almost didn't want to try on because of how beautiful and sparkly they were.
Chris definitely knew how to spoil you, you'd give him that.
---
Once the date of the premiere rolled around you couldn't stop bouncing with excitement and nerves at what tonight would bring.
Chris picked you up so you could get ready as his place and spend the night with him there afterward.
"I know I've been blowing up your phone about this for days but, baby, seriously this dress is amazing and I'm so excited to wear it and do this with you tonight." you leaned over to place a peck on his cheek as he pulled into his driveway.
"Your messages were all very cute. I'm glad you like it, though, it took me hours to choose between the pink dresses they showed me. Had to get the right one for my girl."
He hadn't revealed to you yet what he'd be wearing and he hadn't seen you in the dress either so that would be the first of many new things you would experience tonight you were sure of.
You greeted Dodger once you got inside, setting everything down so you could pet and hug your favorite dog.
Not long after, however, you felt your body leave the floor as Chris scooped you up bridal style.
"As cute as both of you are, I think I want some extra alone time with my cherry pie in the shower before we have to leave."
"Ohhh I see! I think I'd like that too."
Chris was on you within seconds once you stepped in the shower, pressing you up against the cool tiles as water cascaded over both of you.
His lips were on yours, feverishly kissing you, his tongue slipping into your mouth a little at a time, making you whimper.
Your body felt hot as you pulled back to steady yourself on his broad shoulders, beads of water on your dark skin dripping onto the paleness of his making you smile at the memory of teasing him about it
Your eyes glazed over his tattoos, just admiring his body as you always liked to do while his hands explored yours, roaming down to squeeze your ass and then back up to your waist.
The spray from the shower muffled your whimpers as Chris maneuvered your body so that his thigh was between your legs, his hands doing the work to guide you down, moving your hips for you until you caught on to what he wanted.
He was so unfair, you wanted his fingers and he knew it but what was the harm in a little teasing. That was his favorite thing after all.
"Look at you riding my leg, always so eager for it huh. You're that greedy for me, I know sweetheart."
You cried out as the pressure began to build in your core, your arms wrapping around his shoulders now, needing him closer.
"More, I want more." you always did that wasn't a surprise, anything he gave, you lapped up like his little puppy and by all means, you were happy to be.
You could feel him smile against your neck in between kisses, his arms pressing you down and back, giving you that restraint and control you craved so much.
It wasn't very long after that where you realized he was now kneeling down, hitching one of your legs over his shoulder and giving you only a smirk and a second to collect yourself before his mouth was on your center, his tongue flicking expertly over your folds and up to your clit, your hands flying to his hair, tugging softly to keep him there.
His mouth was one of a kind you really had to give him credit, you'd never been left so shaky before from just being eaten out and here Chris was blowing you mind over and over, and because he wanted to. He got off on going down on you just as much as you did and you appreciated a man who gave thought to his partner's pleasure.
---
At the risk of running very late to the premiere, Chris had to cut your steamy shower antics short, both of you reluctantly pulling away from each other and actually focusing on getting ready.
That certainly didn't stop him from eyeing you up and down like you were a dessert he wasn't allowed to have just yet.
Especially when you got dressed, slipping on the beautiful pink gown and the heels, catching his eye as he stood in the doorway watching you intently.
You had to gasp and stare at him just as he was doing to you now that you saw him all suited up, the blue velvet looking crisp and soft even across the room.
He had a sleek black bowtie on to complete the look and all you wanted to do was mess it up as he came over to you, his hand outstretched for you to take and when you did he led you around in a twirl.
"I knew you'd look stunning. You're absolutely beautiful, princess." he was beaming at you, eyes sparkling bright as he took you in, admiring how you styled your curls and adorned some of the jewelry pieces he'd gifted you weeks prior.
He couldn't wait to show you off, to have everyone's eyes on you, and to know that you were all his. You're his girl and he couldn't have been prouder of the fact.
Besides the show of it all and going public with a relationship for the first time in quite a while, having you next to him tonight was such an ease on his mind and his anxiety.
You just made it easier to think, a little harder to breathe if he was being honest because you stole his breath away so much of the time but just your presence was enough to calm him. He needed his little girl next to him and he was beyond happy that you agreed to come with him tonight.
"You look like a million bucks yourself, sir. I'm loving the velvet!"
"Thought you would, I almost went for pink but I couldn't shake the blue when I saw it. I think we complement each other well, though."
"I think so too! I'm excited, but a little nervous. Promise to hold my hand?"
Some of your little voice popped out as you said it and Chris noticed your puppy eyes and he just had to lean to kiss your lips, extra careful not to mess up your lipstick.
"Of course babygirl, I wouldn't dream of letting you go. You'll be right by my side all night."
And he was true to his word, holding onto you tight as he helped you step out of the car, whispering in your ear that you got this as you got accustomed to all the camera flashes and the hectic energy of everyone around you.
It made you nervous at first, you weren't used to quite this level of press but having Chris holding your hand, leading you around, posing for pictures with you and complimenting you slyly as you posed, his body always close to yours, never straying too far from you the entire night, it helped you relax and eventually you felt comfortable enough to enjoy yourself.
Interviewers asked him about you and it was the most amazing thing getting to watch him gush about you and bring you into the conversation too.
You weren't just on the sidelines with him, you were in the spotlight just as much as he, you were the star of the show in his eyes, after all, there was no way he wasn't gonna let you shine.
Chris knew you could hold your own in those interviews, that was your area of expertise and he let you take the reigns too, making a point to include you in the questions if they were asked about you, wanting everyone to be able to hear your beautiful voice and watch the intelligence you had come through.
If the world saw what he saw, there was no doubt everyone would be fawning over you and that's everything you deserved. To be adored.

Catch Up Here
Packing up their life had come with frustration and tears, in the past. Mostly from Nell, a few from Ivan, and then there was Henry. This time the only tears, so far, had come from the amounts of laughter that Ivan would induce. Once his room was nearly ready to go, the essentials remaining, Henry had convinced his son to help him start on the rest of the house. Nell had enough on her plate, packing was the least they could do.
Hour three of their morning packing, Kal and Ivan were growing restless. A sign that they needed to get out and have a good run around. A trip to the park allowing both of them to enjoy the sun was exactly the cure.
A few kids climbed on the play structure, shouting and calling to one another. Ivan recognized one or two kids from his soon to be previous school, though he didn't bother to play with them. Keeping to his dad and Kal. He'd spent time with his friends, the ones who mattered, when Henry had allowed him another sleepover with Leo and Sam.
Stoic in his actions, Ivan had thought he'd hid his tears well. Racing up the stairs and hiding in his room when his friends had gone home. Henry had done his best to hold it all together, reassuring Ivan that things would be fine and once they got settled, they would video chat his friends as much as possible.
Waving at a girl, a few inches taller and probably a year or two older, Ivan blushed and turned back to throw the ball for Kal. His actions not going unnoticed by Henry, who had been in the middle of sending Nell a photo of Ivan and Kal.
“A friend from school?” Henry stood a few feet from Ivan, waiting to intercept the ball from Kal. He'd noticed Ivan shyly letting the same girl pet Kal a few days ago.
“Uh, no. Not really. She was a peer monitor, in my class, for reading.” Ivan explained.
“Why don't you go over and say hello?”
“Nah, it's okay. She's with Kayla and I don't want to.” Shaking his head, Ivan frowned when Kal blew by him with the ball still in his mouth. “Kal, drop it. Kal!” he clapped calling the dog.  Trying to use the same deep tone his dad would. Useless.
Henry rolled his eyes, kids.
“Kal,” Henry whistled, lowering his voice to show Kal it was time to knock it off and bring the back the ball.
Ivan sighed, rubbing his hands on his shorts. Maybe nobody saw that. Silly dog.
“Dad, what do you do when you like a girl?”
A knowing smirk, Henry checked to make sure the path was clear before launching the ball and telling Kal to go get it. “What do I do? Or in general?”
“Both?”
“Well, if it were me, I'd walk over and say hi. Ask how her day was. If she had a good summer, compliment her dress. Maybe tell her a joke.” Groaning, Ivan made a suddenly disgusted face. “What is it?”
“Dad, please, never tell a girl a joke. Your jokes are terrible.”
“Hey, I will have you know my jokes are fine. It worked when I asked your mum out.”
“Mum's jokes are bad, too.” Ivan laughed at the shocked expression on his dad's face. “Jordan said Alex pestered mum until she agreed. I pester her, but she always tells me no.” He frowned.
“I don't think the pestering was the same type.”
“I guess that makes sense.” Scratching his head, Ivan let go of the dating topic. Kal slid to a stop at Ivan's side, dropping his ball and panting. Flopping to the cool grass, the big dog yawned and rested his head on his paws. “I think Kal wants to go home.”
Kal had impeccable timing, for which Henry had never been more thankful.
“I think we've worn him out, haven't we bear?” Henry stooped to collect the ball and give Kal a well deserved scratch under the chin. “He'll have loads of time to rest, once we get moved.”
“Do you think Kal would want to live with mum?”
“What do you mean?”
“She's going to be alone, maybe he could live with her? I think she'd like it,” Ivan lowered his voice, leaning in to his dad,  “and he would keep her safe.”
“I think your mum can keep herself fairly safe, but it is awfully generous of you to offer her company.” Henry ran his hand over the back of his neck, “Kal is an awful lot of work.”
Ivan shrugged, “So am I. Ms. Inglewood said so, but mum keeps me.”
“Let me talk to your mum about it, but I think Kal will probably come with us.” Henry smiled giving Kal another scratch as he leaned down to put on the dog's leash. “Speaking of mum, we need to stop in and pick up her gift.”
After days of agonizing searches, according to Ivan, they had found the perfect gift for his mum. He was proud of his purchase and couldn't wait to give it to her. Henry had told him that she was coming over this afternoon to help pack, the perfect time to give her the special present.
Unknowingly, Nell had picked her own present. She was going to be shocked, Ivan hoped she would love it.
Taking the morning to organize and rearrange a few things in the studio, per request, Nell was happy to go home. Even if it meant more packing. Since she hadn't been on set, she hadn't saw Alex in the last two days. Odd not having somebody interrupting her day, while she tried to work. Well, it was what it. Whatever it was, it was over and they were both free to move on and do as they pleased.
Armed with her favourite coffee,  two okay three brownie cookies– thank you Sophie, along enough tape and paper to wrap a life time of items Nell headed to her room to begin purging and packing her closet. Henry had neatly packed his things this morning to keep them from getting in the mess that would be tossed around the room by dinner time.
Thankful for his initiative. Nell pulled out a large suitcase, and a handful of hangers getting to work. Thirty or forty minutes in felt like a lifetime, keep on the bed. Discard on the floor by the black dresser. Packing the suitcase with some winter clothing, Nell groaned when her phone rang.
“Hi, mom.” She answered with a grunt.
“Are you okay?”
“Fine, I'm fine. What's new?”
Pleasantries and informal community gossip, from both ends, out of the way Evelyn began to dive into the finer details of life. Nell listened as her mother went on about this and that, bringing her up to date with the family. Stuffing the last item into the large suitcase, Nell huffed in triumph.
“Sadie and Dave are expecting, again.” Evelyn delivered the joyful news. Her oldest daughter had so much on the go, if it was up to Sadie the baby would be two and she'd still never get around to telling her little sister.
“Oh, wow.” Nell furrowed her brow, tongue between her teeth, trying to zip her suitcase.
Ivan would be a wreck the next few months, stressing whether his new cousin would dethrone him as the only boy. He took his place with great pride.
“Is that all you have to say?” Evelyn chastised her youngest daughter. “I tell you some good news and all I get from you is sarcasm?”
Short of sitting on the suitcase, Nell sighed, shifting her phone and rolling her eyes. “No, mom. I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that way. I meant oh! Wow! Good for them! Yay, they must be so excited.” She lifted her voice, faking her best enthusiasm.
“Really, Janelle. You're incorrigible.”
“I'm sorry, really, but Sadie having another baby isn't on my list of priorities right now.” Rubbing her hand against her forehead, Nell braced herself for the lecture.
The sigh on the other end of the phone told her it was coming. 5. she waited, 4. Nell shook her head 3...2 -
“I know that you have a lot going on.” 1. “It wouldn't kill you to think of somebody else's happiness for two seconds. I expect you to at least send her a nice card. One that you've put some thought into.”
“She's my sister, of course I'll send her a nice card. I was planning to send her a nice gift too, or would that be too much like being nice?” Nell scoffed, “Mom, I'm happy for her. Really, I am. It's just...” she pinched the bridge  of her nose. “Ivan's moving in with Henry and I'm heading to Hungary to work. We're trying to find our own balance and things here are crazy.”
Silence, followed by a slight hitch in Evelyn's breath. Nell sat on the side of the bed, glaring at the offending suitcase. She would conquer that beast.
“Ivan is moving in with Henry, when? Why?”
So Henry hadn't said anything. For once he had left something for Nell to report to her mother. There was a first time for everything.
“They're leaving next week. I decided that it would be best, if Ivan was with Henry for a while. It may make moving easier. You know how he hates to move.”
“What about the new job Henry's taking? He won't have time for Ivan, too. Are you sure this is the right thing, Nelly?”
“Yes, I am.” Sitting straighter, Nell lifted her chin in confidence. “Henry and Ivan are on board, it's good to go. I'll be there, too. Well, not there there, but I'll be in Budapest if they need me and it's only as long as Ivan wants. He's free to move houses however he pleases.”
“You took the job with Henry, then?”
“I never said anything about my new job,” Nell frowned. Fucking Henry.
“Henry mentioned it, back when he told me that he was going there to work. He asked if it would be too overbearing and desperate, if he offered you the job. He said he wanted the best person for the job and you were the only person he could think of. I told him to go with his gut. Nothing more.” Evelyn's tone was softer, as she explained her role in all of this. “I'm happy that you took it. It's a great job and I know you'll so, so well.”
Biting her bottom lip, Nell sat silent for a moment. As much as she wanted to be mad at Henry for giving away her news, how could she argue with a compliment like that?
“Thanks, mom.”
Inhaling deeply, Nell could practically hear her mother smile. “Your father and I have never been to Hungary. We did France, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland one year though. It was right before we found out we were having your brother and sister. Gorgeous countries.”
“Once we're settled and things are running smooth, I am sure Henry and Ivan would love to have you.”
“I'm sure they would, but what about you?”
“Not that I don't want you, but I suspect Henry will have a bigger space. I mean, he's got Ivan and Kal. Plus I'm just the lady making sure he's dressed on screen. I'll be lucky to get a one room with a cupboard to stick Ivan in when he comes over.” Nell smirked, laughing slightly.
“Go on with ya, Nelly. Sticking that poor boy in the cupboard.” Evelyn laughed along with her daughter.
“Yeah, you're right. He's nearly too tall.”
“We miss him, you know. We miss you, too. Once things are settled, I do want to come see you. I know it's hard to get home right now.” Evelyn settled the jokes, turning on her serious mothering side.
“I'm going to try and come home for Christmas. I don't know what Ivan will want to do, but you could always come over for his birthday. He'd love that.”
“I'll talk to your father and maybe we will come surprise him. As for Christmas, we'll talk about that when it gets closer.” Evelyn concluded, telling Nell that she would talk with her later. Sending her love and to make sure Ivan gave her a call, sometimes soon.
Packing and purging, Nell was into a rhythm by the time Henry showed up. In the bedroom, Nell was placed in the middle of the floor, a box on one side and items to be packed on the other. Her closet nearly empty, she had a large pile of clothing by the dresser ready to be sent off to good will. Boxes and two suitcases sitting in the closet, where there had once been hanging clothes.
“Wow, you have a lot packed.” Henry whistled taking a look around the room. “I'm impressed.”
“No sense wasting time.” Nell shrugged tucking another wrapped trinket in the box. She'd made the decision to ship and store most of their belongings in London. She had a storage locker there, which would soon be restocked and left while she and Ivan went on their next adventure.
“I couldn't agree more, but you could have waited. I don't mind helping.” Henry grabbed the roll of paper, cutting off a few pieces to help pack.
“Ah well, I decided that I needed to do something, keep my mind busy.”
“How so?” Henry sat on his knees, taking a pause from his new job.
“Life. Things.” Shrugging, Nell took the next item to be wrapped from the pile. “I talked to my mom, this afternoon.”
“How are things with your parents?” Henry hadn't spoke to them, beyond asking Walt for help with dinner.
“My sister is having another baby,” Nell made conversation.
“Huh, good for them.”
“I suppose.” Nell shrugged. “Mom and dad want to come over for Ivan's birthday, as well.”
“That would be fantastic. I was thinking of asking mum and dad to come visit around then.”
“We could have a small birthday for him. He'd like that. Of course grandparents aren't the same as kids, but it will be nice.”
“I'm sure he'll have some new mates in no time. We can have a Sunday tea for family. Maybe a Saturday afternoon for friends?”
“Sounds great.”
Reaching for the tape, Nell held the box shut, while Henry laid a few strips of the packing tape across the top. Since he had briefly chatted with her earlier in the day, her mood had shifted.
“Mom said that you told her about the job. How you wanted to ask me.”
“I did,” Henry confessed. “I wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy in asking.”
“Why did you really ask me, Henry?” Staring at the tape in her hands, Nell blinked hard.
Sitting back, Henry rubbed his chin, a light stubble beginning to grow. “I wanted the best person for the job. I know that you won't admit it, but you're every bit the geek I am and I wanted someone who I could trust to get every detail right.”
Rolling her eyes, Nell cleared her throat, the tape still the most fascinating thing in the world. “Projects like this have insane resources, I doubt you needed me.”
“Maybe I wanted you?” Henry cocked his head, his brow knit as he searched for some kind of justification. “Nell, I have told you before, you are the right person for the job. No hidden agenda. You're good at what you do, I can trust you, and this has potential to be more than one job. What is so wrong, with surrounding myself in people who are excellent at what they do?”
Shifting around, Nell swung her legs out from under her, extending the distance between her and Henry. Curling her toes, she looked at the pale pink polish. Wiggling her toes at Henry, she smirked.
“I can't believe you asked my mom.”
“I happen to respect her opinion.” Henry grinned. Tapping the top of her right foot, he moved to sit cross legged on the floor. A nearly impossible feat given how big his damn legs were. “More than once I have asked your mother for advice.”
“She is good at giving it straight and she does adore you.” Nell moved her foot away from Henry, his fingers absentmindedly stroking over the top, lightly up her ankle.
“Are you happy?” Turning to look at Nell face on, Henry asked the question.
“Why wouldn't I be happy? I mean, there isn't anything for me to be unhappy about.”  Nell sat on the floor, scanning the things that still needed to be boxed and ready to move. A break wouldn't hurt. “Are you happy?”
“Sometimes.” Henry confessed. “Do you ever wonder, if we'd stayed...”
“Don't. No. Please, don't do that.” Nell shook her head. She was not in the right frame of mind to play this game. Henry turned his head, blinking a few times, he scrunched up his face. “I think about it more than I should and we don't need to argue, not today.”
“That is a fair point.” Henry agreed. Blowing out a breath, he puffed out his cheeks, tapping his thighs in an anxious manner.
“If it makes any difference,” Nell paused, picking up a photo frame to wrap, “I have a failed relationship because  of us.”
Henry had several. It wasn't a competition.
“Alex thought that, never mind.”
“Was Alex really a relationship?” Arching his brow, Henry pursed his lips. “I mean, it wasn't nothing, but was it really all that?”
“Yes. Maybe. I don't know.” Nell's shoulders sagged in defeat. “Part of his reason for it being over, was because he thinks you and I are still in love.” She laughed lightly. “How insane does that sound?”
“Huh,” followed by a subdued laugh, Henry reached for the next empty box dragging it closer.
Wrapping and packing this and that, Henry didn't continue the conversation. Silently, he did his job, allowing himself to process whatever other issues would have risen, if they had continued.
Some day they would sit and have a very long, very tough, very emotion filled discussion. Today was not that day.
“When we're done here, Ivan has something he wants you to see. By the way. He and Kal went over to hang out with Sophie.” Henry broke the silence after several moments of packing without a word.
“Why don't you run over and get them, I can finish this.” Nell smiled weakly.
The air in the room was lifted, the unspoken thoughts and feelings vanished with Henry. Cleaning up the pile of boxes, tape, and various packing materials Nell dusted her hands off on her pants. She hadn't noticed the time, sending Henry to collect Ivan and Kal had been a better idea than known.
A short visit with Ivan and Nell would be off to her hotel, surely Henry and Ivan would want her to stay for dinner, which is why she had come up with the excuse that she had some work to do and wanted to get back before it was too late.
Downstairs the door opened and chaos entered.
“Mum, momma, mum.” Ivan chanted rushing into the house.
“I'm coming,” Nell called from the stairs.
Barely off the bottom step, Ivan rushed her.
“Hi.” he wrapped his arms around Nell's waist.
“Well hello, Wild boy.” Nell smiled hugging him to her side. “How was your day?”
“It was good. Dad and I went to the park and then we went to get this,” Ivan took the bag Henry had been holding. Fishing out the neatly wrapped box, he extended it to his mother.
“This is from you?” Raising her brow, Nell took the box from Ivan, who was nodding eagerly.
“I picked it myself. In case you miss me. I didn't want you to be sad. Open it.”
Nell was going to miss the whirlwind of energy that her son brought everywhere. Thankfully they would be in the same city and she could see him, whenever she wanted.
“Aren't you sweet? Okay,” Nell smiled, gently pulling the bow off of the brightly coloured box. “Ivan.” she cooed, revealing the horizontal hanging bar necklace. The same one she had mentioned liking shortly before her birthday, then again before Mother's Day.
“Read it, read it.” Ivan urged.
“Love, Ivan.” Nell read the words engraved across the front of the white gold bar.
“I wrote that and then the lady put it on the necklace.” He bounced in place, like a rocket ship ready to launch. “Do you like it?”
“I love it, wild boy.”
“I wanted to get you a car, but dad said you didn't need an Aston Martin. So we got you this.”
“Thank you and your dad is absolutely right, I love this way more than a car.” Nell kissed the top of his head. “I love you, way more than anything.”
“Dad, too?” Ivan wiggled his way out of his mother's hug. Looking up, blinking at his mom, he looked quickly to Henry.
A deer in the headlights, Henry shook his head.
“Dad and Kal, both.”
Glancing over his shoulder at Henry, Ivan smiled, his eyes bright. His silent “told ya so.” more than evident.

The King’s Mate➳ h.s. au
word count: 2.04k
It’s here and its Harry’s point of view! I promise it’s not boring, you get to know a little of what goes on in his little pretty head. Hope you enjoy!
---------------------------
Chapter Eight
*Harry's pov*
She doesn't want us. She never wanted us. Why wouldn't she just reject us instead of just leading us on? Why!
I rubbed my temples trying to reduce the headache I was getting from my wolf talking nonstop. He just can't stop talking for a minute so I could at least think, to at least say something.
You think she wanted someone else? Oh how I now want to kill that other boy.
My eyes widened at Rox's thought.
Rox stop. You better calm down before I calm you down. I hated talking to him. He was a control freak and so possessive of Valentina. I don't like it when he takes over part of my body because I know he would say something that will hurt her and the one to deal with the consequences will be me, not him.
Oh what are you going to do? Block me out? You can try but I'll push hard enough till I'm taking over your body and then maybe I will mark her and make her mine like we should have done the first night she slept in our home. I felt my hand turn into a fist and I just wanted to punch someone. He pisses me off. I hate how he just talks about her as if she was a possession, an item to just own. She was more than that, she was my mate, the one I will grow old with, the one I will have a family with. She was going to be queen and rule next to me. Now that I thought about that, I hadn't thought about the ceremony. The ceremony the king has to do to introduce his mate and the soon to be queen. Not only I had to deal with my wolf, Rox, but I had to deal with the ceremony and start planning it. I let out a sigh and leaned my head down on my hands. I was currently in my office, hiding from Valentina. I just didn't want to answer any questions she would have because I know she would have questions and I didn't want to be around her for the moment until my mind was clear and Rox was calm and wouldn't be able to do anything stupid.
Before I went to sleep I finished up some work that was left behind and made sure I had everything I would need to the meeting I had the next day.
***********
I came out of my bedroom fixing up the sleeves and the ring I had in my hand when I saw Valentina for the first time since last night before I hid in my office.
"Hey," I didn't say anything, I instead just stared at her. She had a wrist brace and when I saw it I looked away quickly knowing I was the reason she was in pain, hurt.
"Where were you last night?" she spoke in a whisper, as if she was scared to speak up. "You didn't have dinner and you weren't in your bedroom, so where were you?" I looked at her taken back.
"You came into my bedroom? For what?" She looked away and I could tell she was embarrassed.
"I wanted to sleep with you in you bed last night but you weren't there so I figured you must have been out or something," she shrugged her shoulders as if shrugging it off. I cocked my head to the side so I could see her face properly, "I slept in the office, I had to finish some work for today. Did you have trouble sleeping last night or something?" I couldn't think of another reason on why she would want to go sleep with me in my bedroom, i'm usually the one to go to her bedroom to sleep with her.
"My arm started hurting but I wanted to have you next to me," she finally looked up at me and looked at me up and down, presuming she was looking at my clothes and not just checking me out. "Going somewhere?" I looked down at my suit I was wearing for today's meeting, it was one of the suits that were meant to make me look like a king and make me look like I had all the power, sort of because the suit had prints on it. The suit was black but with gold prints on them, they seem to be faces, I liked wearing this types of suits but sometimes the servants would give me clothes that were too much but I had to wear them because they know how to style and I wasn't going to argue with them.
"I actually am. I have a meeting with all the alphas, from U.K and from America. I'll probably be out all day today so Christina will come over and take you over to Christian's place so you can spend the day with Kayla since she will also be alone all day." She gave me a nod and kept staring at me and my suit.
"Penny for your thoughts?" I gave her a small smile. She looked like she had a lot in mind and I really wanted to know what was going on in her mind all the time.
"You look good in that suit, but I thing you look better in casual clothes," by the look of her face I could tell she was blushing, she has this color on her face that made her look reddish but because of her skin tone it was hard to tell but her heart was saying she was in fact blushing.
"Well, I'll try to be as casual as I can be but since I am the king and the alpha, I have to wear decent clothing. You will soon be wearing non-casual clothing so don't get too comfortable with your clothes." I threw her a smirk and made my way down to my office to grab the papers I would need. I could hear Valentina following me but pretended as if I couldn't hear her.
"What you mean?"
I went inside my office and went around my desk to collect all the papers I would need for the meeting. Without looking at Valentina I answered her question, "well you will have to dress your part as a queen, you will have dresses bought and made just for you. You will have nice shoes to go with you dresses and," I looked up and gave her a smirk, "you will have different types of crowns for you to wear." She looked me as if I had grown two heads. Why was she not excited about this? Don't girls want to be dressed and be treated like a queen?
"You want me to change my wardrobe and the way I dress?" I places the papers I had in my hand back on the desk and leaned on my desk. "I don't want you to change, you will only wear dresses and your crown when we go out. Like me, I have this suit and many like this that have to be worn so I could be respected and be treated like the king that I am. I don't want you to change who you are, I would never to that. You just have to play the role, that's all and after that you can wear your sweatpants or jeans okay?" She stared at me for a moment, she just looked at me and didn't say anything until she sat down in front of my desk.
"Okay that's fine. Wait and don't you have to like crown me or something like that? You know in order for me to be queen?" And there's the question. I sat down on my chair behind the desk and rested my hands on the desk. I looked at her and cleared my throat before I started explaining to her about what was going to happen in order for her to become queen.
"Yes I do have to crown you. There will be a ceremony where alphas from other packs come and my pack joins as well. You will have a big dress made for you and you will have people helping you get ready. It is tradition so don't bother protesting this." I gave her a pointing look knowing she was about to say something about her being able to do it on her own.
" There's one thing you have to know about this ceremony, this day you become queen," I took a deep breath before speaking. "That day, the queen and king are supposed to sleep together." I stare at Valentina to see what she would say. She didn't say anything but stare.
"We already do that." I took a deep breath knowing I will have to explain.
"What I mean we have to sleep together. As in have sex. I have to mark you and mate with you. It's part of the ceremony, if we don't do it you won't be connected to me and my wolf, and you won't be connected to my pack. You won't be able to have control of the wolves if you aren't marked on that night." She had a shocked face and she looked like she wanted to get out of the room. I knew this would be too much and I didn't want to tell her all this today but she asked about the coronation and I had to be honest with her.
"Okay." I was taken back by her response. "Okay? What do you mean?"
She looked up to look at me in the eyes, " I mean okay as in I'm fine with it. At some point we have to mate right? And when will this ceremony be?" I cleared my throat after her mentioning about us sleeping together intimately.
"The coronation will be on the next full moon, which is in like two or three weeks. I actually have a meeting with alphas from UK and the rest of America in which we will talk about this. I will be discussing the date of the coronation and other things." I looked down at the folder in front of me,  I looked at the watch I had in my wrist and saw I had to leave soon. Grabbing the folder I got up from my seat and looked at Valentina.
"Okay well Christina will come by and take you to spend the day with Kayla since Christian will be going with me. I'll be calling you throughout the day to check up on you okay?" She nodded before furrowing her brows in questioning, "how are you going to check on me when there's no signal here?" Oh right.
"Right, I'll go buy a phone and have people come add some lines in here so I can check up on you. Christina is able to communicate with me so if you need anything from outside of here just let her know and I'll bring it for you okay?"
"Wait your not going to be in here? You are going out as in like to my town?" I nodded at her and waited for her to continue talking. "Do you think you can go over to my dorm and collect my stuff? I have important stuff from back home and I would really want to have them with me." I nodded quickly, not even having to think about it.
"Anything for you. Would that be all or do you want something else? Anything you need from town?" She shook her head and stood up from her chair. I went around my desk and stood in front of her. I looked at her in her eyes, in her dark brown eyes, I placed my hand in her cheek and moved my thumb to feel her skin. To anyone she wouldn't seem perfect but to me she was all I needed and that's all that mattered to me. I didn't care that she had insecurities, I will love her along with all her flaws. Oh and how much I wanted to kiss her lips but I will wait until the night of the coronation. I just hope that day comes as fast as it can.

Meet Me in the Middle Chapter 7
Meet Me in the Middle Chapter 6
Word Count: 1705
The next day Rosetta checked the clean up schedule. Her name wasn't on it but she was going to stay anyways. Right now she was still too upset with her parents to go home and she didn't feel like showing it.
She got to leave classes early that day though it was just her afternoon courses and those were the ones were music was actually involved so it didn't matter much anyways.
Rosetta got ready quickly, slicking her hair back into a ponytail and retouching her makeup before she put on her suit and tucked a red flower behind her ear like every performance for school. It was a formal, black and white event where you had to wear fancy clothing in the given colors. There was a dress code sent to everyone but it never changed so Rosetta didn't bother to read it though they were allowed one small item with color to personalize their look a little and Rosetta always chose a random flower. She and Beck kept a lot of plants in their room so taking a flower from their room wasn't a hard task.
Beck and Rosetta met up with Kiki in the hall, Beck wearing a black jumpsuit he borrowed from Lana with a bright blue baseball cap on backwards and Kiki wearing a black, flowing dress with a beautiful, patterned hijab to go with. They each had a very different aesthetic going on for themselves but somehow they still fit together, even if Kiki and Beck were the ones in a band together and Rosetta was doing her own solo act.
"Okay, outfit check," Meg said, holding up a printed list of the rules. "We're not having any repeats of last year."
As in last year she meant the time Beck forgot to check the rules and got sent back to change right before he went on and nearly missed his slot. His dress was an inch too short and Mrs. Octavius was strict about the dress code.
"I brought my measuring tape," Ellie said, coming out of her room. She had a big kit of sewing supplies and had at least 10 measuring tapes scattered among her things.
Kiki was done first and while she had no skin showing besides her face, Meg made sure the colors she had chosen were cleared. Like every time, she was perfectly fine.
They moved onto Beck next, Ellie measuring how deep the neckline was and unfortunately, it was too deep.
"Oh no!" He said sarcastically. "They're going to see my tits what a horror."
"Hey man if they would do that to me then they're going to do it to you so don't be a whore," Rosetta snorted.
"Speaking of which, while we can adjust Beck's straps, you need to button up some more because your bra is out," Ellie said as she stood behind back and fixed the straps.
"Suck it dipshit," Beck said, sticking out his tongue. Rosetta stuck hers out in retaliation and flipped him off.
Meg started to redo the buttons, despite Rosetta's complaining and wriggling to get away.
"There," she said, satisfied with her work. "And Kiki I'm tasking you with making sure she doesn't undo those buttons right before she goes on stage. Rosetta if I have to see your bra while you preform I'm going to murder you."
"It's not even a bra it's a crop top and it looks cute under my button up so I'm willing to take that risk for the aesthetic. Besides I hate the notion that girls breasts are inherently sexual and boys can go around without a shirt so why the fuck can't I!"
"Because it's a formal event idiot!"
"I have decided to ignore that."
Meg and Kiki face palmed while Beck and Ellie laughed. Rosetta then grabbed her cello from her room and put it on her back as Beck and Kiki collected their things.
The three of them left and went to the Glass Auditorium, nicknamed for having a class dome as the roof above the seating. Mrs. Octavius inspected their outfits before checking them off, Kiki and Beck putting their things in the back room before they all went to their tier. Their other instruments were already in the orchestra panel. Instead of an orchestra pit like literally every place, the orchestra was tiered upwards behind the stage.
While everyone had their own individual performance, they also played background music if needed. Not many people really needed it aside from a few things, but it also gave them all a place to sit when waiting for their turn.
Rosetta was in the center tier with her lavender cello on one side and a harp on the other. Beck and Kiki were on the bottom in the percussion section, Kiki at a keyboard and Beck on drums. Kiki also had her guitar behind her chair for her actual performance.
Larger instruments like harps, drums, and a piano were on stage for those who would use them for their performance, like the drums Beck would use and the piano Rosetta would use smaller things like guitars and flutes and violins were kept with their owner and brought on stage with the performer.
Mrs. Octavius had them all test their instruments and they did vocal warmups as well as a few run throughs of songs. Then she had the crew get everything in check like lighting. In the booth Rosetta could see Lana, her black hair pulled back in a ponytail. She waved and Lana responded by blowing a kiss, making Rosetta grin.
By the time everything was in order, the curtains dropped and the first performer, a girl named Alyssa, was on stage with her violin, ready to go.
Mrs. Octavius gave a welcome speech to the parents and left the stage, the curtains raising and the lights going on to center on Alyssa. Rosetta had heard her play before. She had heard everyone play before but Alyssa's music always stuck out a little more to her for some reason. It was most likely because she was the only female solo violinist in the school, but regardless she played beautifully.
In the crowd Rosetta easily spotted Ellie and Meg lounging in the student section. She also found Kiki's parents and brothers in the crowd sitting besides one of Beck's sisters, Kayla. His other sister, his two brothers, and his mom couldn't make it. His mom had to work that night and his other three siblings had their own activities.
Her heart dropped a little.
It wasn't fair that their families could be there and not one person from Rosetta's, that she wanted to come at least, was there. But she was close with both of their families and knew that they would also be there for her as much as their own children. At least there was that.
Alyssa finished and it seemed like performers flew by until it was Beck and Kiki's turn, Rosetta perking up and going down to the stage floor with her guitar as she was two slots after them. She could hear them playing, Beck on drums and Kiki singing and playing guitar.
They played two songs, both of which weren't theirs's. That was the point of the Starter Showcase, to show that they could play different music and had learned their instruments or whatever it had said on the curriculum. Rosetta spaced out reading it before she could comprehend what was happened because sometimes, despite taking medication, her ADHD got the best of her and she couldn't take in information.
Regardless, it was the Ending Showcase that they would play music they wrote to prove something along the lines that they could write. The Ending Showcase for the Seniors was far more important anyways as scouts for different labels and businesses would come to look for whatever musician they needed to hire or just to make record deals with new artists before anyone else did. It was a competitive field.
Rosetta waited a few more minutes before she went on stage. It was completely silent and she could feel nerves building but shook them off. Ellie gave her a thumbs up and Meg grinned at her which helped a little bit.
She was singing two songs; Why Do You Feel So Down by Declan McKenna and Cruel Summer by Taylor Swift. They were vastly different songs in every possible aspect but LaceyRosetta
Rosetta sang and played and didn't even realize her slot was finished until she was done. She always lost track of time and her thoughts when she played, completely in a world of her own.
She took deep breaths and curtsied as the audience clapped. She looked up and saw the heart hands Lana shot her from the lighting booth before she left the stage and went back to her tier.
By the time she got there, the last person finished and the Showcase was over. Mrs. Octavius gave her closing speech and the curtains dropped and the lights went on. The audience left, flooding the halls as they waited for their kids.
Students started packing up, Rosetta putting her instrument in its case and leaving. The harp was school owned as Rosetta couldn't afford nor had the space for her own. She wasn't even sure what she would do with it besides just play at home. She couldn't move it everywhere often and discreetly for performances.
She didn't feel like dealing with the crowds as much as she loved Beck and Kiki's families, instead choosing to take the hallway off of the back of the bottom tier and taking the long way. As soon as she stepped through the main door, Ellie was waiting for her, smiling brightly.
"I figured you'd be here. You did amazing," She said once she spotted Rosetta, looping her arm though hers.
"Thanks," Rosetta said, grinning. "Where's Meg and Lana?"
"With Beck and Kiki. They're also taking the train home."
"Right." Rosetta nodded.
"And now it's time for the sleepover to begin. Get ready and then meet me in my room right after," Ellie said wickedly, making Rosetta's heart pound. She already knew she was in too deep.

A Gift from the Ghost King
Inspired by this awesome headcanon from @give-nico-a-gun, thanks a ton for the inspo! It’s come to be a long-ish one, 2.2k words.
Trigger Warning: Mentions of Christianity and needles, but not in the medical context... it’s really just harmless and sweet.
Setting: General Riordanverse/PJOVerse with canon/established Solangelo.
Mentioned couples Christmas sweaters from the shop (link).
Note: because most people recognise American-English more than normal English, I’ve decided to go American this time, like dropping the u when I have to and using ‘sweater’ instead of jumper so that no-one gets confused (fingers crossed I do it properly).
Nico and Will, for all their opposites, had one major thing in common: they were raised Christian. Neither were quite sure why, since their mothers were well aware of the Greek pantheon of gods rather than a monotheistic one, but they supposed their childhood communities wouldn’t have taken sweetly to the change.
Which meant the emo teen wasn’t focusing on Halloween this October, but on Christmas. Already. What do you get someone who claims to have it all?
Talking to his friends didn’t help much. Most of them suggested medical equipment or a simple day off; there were even a few jokes about sunscreen that Nico didn’t quite understand. Those of them who knew Will better said they were buying him new arrows, notebooks or trinkets to fit his sunny-surfer-dude aesthetic - those were great ideas but Nico couldn’t copy them. Will knew him well enough to tell whether it was Nico’s idea or not. The pale teen scowled, wondering why he even asked. He was completely stumped.
Until early November, that is, when Will began to drop hints. Nico only realised it when when his boyfriend convinced him into a store just to look at their collection of couples Christmas sweaters, covered with sickeningly sweet messages and nicknames.
"Aww. look Neeks - this one says ‘Don't go bacon my heart’!" Will laughed a laugh that turned Nico's cheeks to bright red, pointing at the sweater closest to them. It was attached to another one, reading ‘I couldn’t if I fried’, along with a drawing of a fried egg reaching out toward the other’s bacon.
The hints came a few more times before Nico swallowed his pride and decided to learn how to make one from scratch. Why DIY? Because everything Will did for Nico was done himself: from writing and playing his own music (nevermind how Will’s voice was definitely not winning X-Factor material), to the fake Mythomagic set full of realistic depictions of the gods, or the admittedly adorable summertime picnics with more food and baked goods than Nico could ever eat. Nico felt it was time to return the favor, and step one was learning how to knit.
It started clumsy and full of holes. Nico seemed to have a talent for dropping stitches. The section he was working on started too tight, then so loose that it was almost falling apart. After two weeks of constant secret practice, however, along with more YouTube tutorials and undone rows than he was willing to admit, Nico made something basically shaped like clothing.
But it was just regular, boring clothing. Of course, Nico knew Will would be overjoyed at just that, but this was the first Christmas the couple planned to spend together, at camp. It was time to go big or go home.
Long story short, Nico swallowed his pride again: this time, to ask his step-mother how to embroider. He was met with suspicious glances and wary questions before Persephone began cooing in delight.
“Oh, that’s the cutest thing! Who knew you could be so soft?” She giggled, already rushing around for threads, test fabrics and needles. “Though I suppose you take after your father, he’s secretly a big softie, y’know - now, are we doing patches, appliques, or diving in the deep end and sewing right onto the yarn?” Nico had a rule not to dive into anything, but with Christmas soon approaching he had to learn fast. Somehow, too, he had to keep it a secret from Will. By December 10th, he’d pretended the wide-eyed needles poking out of his cabin floorboards were totally a prank from Cecile, and Hazel definitely left behind the scrap of paper filled with wobbly cursive last time she visited... Will simply hadn’t noticed. Nico was just glad his boyfriend didn’t have time to read what was on the paper before he snatched it away; that would have ruined it all.
Christmas came quickly, fronted by sleepless nights of embroidery and fingers full of pinpricks for Nico. But he was glad to have it done by Christmas Eve, all wrapped and stashed under the black tree in the Hades Cabin. Usually, he would be spending the night alone, but tonight a warm Will-shaped bundle of joy hugged him while they slept. Nico could only hope he would be as happy the next morning.
“Is this one from you?” Will asked, voice quiet with hidden excitement. Nico nodded, too nervous to speak, pulling at his plain hoodie. The wrapping fell away as Will teared and tugged, soon left left cradling a lump of fabric. “This is... beautiful, Nico!” The nervous boy’s chest sagged in relief, smile stealing onto his face as Will threw off the sweater he was wearing and donned the new creation, spinning around in his rush to the nearest mirror.
“Do you like it?”
“Oh Gods, Nico, of course! Did you make this? Thank you so much!” Will held it up before putting it on, gifting Nico with a laugh like soft rain pattering down on a warm summers day as he read the words out loud. “Significant Annoyance? That’s perfect!” Nico laughed with him, glad the nickname was still well-received, as the teen slipped it on.
He was the greatest model Nico could have asked for. A narrow frame showed off the fabric well: a stunning blue, deep and bright at the same time. Nico thought he’d chosen it because it was cheap, but when Will put it on he realised it’s because it matched the doctor's eyes perfectly. The body of it fit well, even if the arms were a little loose, which made Nico glad he hadn’t painstakingly added rows upon rows of purled stitching for a cute pattern or edge. It wouldn’t have been worth the struggle - the embroidered words were centerpiece enough. They spilled across Will’s chest in a haze of silver, grey and white; threads mixed and blended in the way Persephone had learn from Athena herself. The 20 letters had taken ages to get right, but to see them coupled with Will’s pure joy and excitement as he studied them in his reflection made all the effort worth it.
Needless to say, it beat Will’s gift to Nico that Christmas... which may or may not have been a good thing, because Will’s competitive nature soon swarmed up, and he was already making a gift of his own by the New Year.
“Kayla!” He rushed, panting, into the Apollo cabin from the infirmary. “Please tell me you know where I left my other needle?” Will held a lonely knitting needle in his right hand, pointing it at his half-sister.
“Laundry pile.” She replied, waving behind her towards said pile. It was mainly full of denim and orange cotton, but Will managed to extract the pale wooden tool after some digging. “Why, are you making something again?” It had been years since Will had done any knitting, having been taught by Malcolm Pace of the Athena Cabin during Will’s first few weeks at camp, so Kayla had every reason to be curious.
“Yep.” Will fell onto his bed, after fishing out a ball of yarn from under it. “You know the sweater Nico made me?”
Kayla laughed, sitting up straight. “The one you’ve been wearing almost every day since?”
“Yeah, I want to make him one too.”
“What, for Christmas next year or something? Are you just going to hand it to him now?” His head was bent too far over his busy fingers to see as she raised an eyebrow at him, but he knew her sass too well.
“Oh, totally. You know me, just can’t wait to be organised and do everything in advance.” He grinned down at his work, shaking his head slightly with concentration. He didn’t want to drop a stitch, after all. “It’s his birthday on the 28th, I’m going to give it to him then.”
His sister aww-ed in delight, deciding (for once) to leave him be so that he could get it done on time. Will appreciated that, because he had a lot of work to do in the coming month - or, rather, 27 days.
Will certainly worked hard in those four weeks. Between shifts at the infirmary, general camp stuff and counselor responsibilities, he barely had time to himself let alone keep spending enough time with his boyfriend to make everything seem normal and knit him a sweater. Much like Nico had, he considered just buying one ready-made or getting someone else to help him, but he was eager to do it properly. So, it was a relief after sleepless nights and busy days that Will was finally finished with the sweater three days early; only the embroidery left. But Will was tired and had already misspelt half the terms on his latest patient file, so he had to keep it simple.
GHOST KING 👻  He finished, snipping the end of the silver-white thread. Will held it up to Kayla and the light, dusting off any last threads. “What do you think?”
“Ghost King...” Kayla read, a small smile on her face. “With a tiny ghost, too! That’s adorable, Will.” She wandered a little closer, inspecting the gift in the light cast from the sunrise. “You used a template, right? Because you can’t draw, and your handwriting has never been that good.”
“Geez, Kayla, no need to be so harsh.” Will smiled, clearly joking. “Of course I did, it’s got to be perfect for tonight.” It was already Nico’s birthday; Will stayed up all night to finish on time. Kayla knew this and sighed, deciding to make her brother get some rest.
“I’m covering your shift today, you need to sleep before you have your date tonight.” She decided, swinging Will’s bag over her own shoulder and giving his weary face a last look. “Seriously, sleep. I’ll make up some worthy excuse and tell Nico, he’ll understand.” Will protested for only a moment before yawning, and flopping down onto his bunk.  A sleep couldn’t hurt...
He woke up near sunset that day, almost time to meet Nico. It was a rush for him to get ready and properly awake, but he made it to the woods just as the sun disappeared below the horizon.
“Will!” Nico waved from the edge, a small look of worry on his face. “I was, um... beginning to think you wouldn’t come.” He admitted, and Will felt his face burn in shame for making his boyfriend worry, even a little.
“Of course I’d come, I just slept in all day. Sorry.” He said, and they wandered a little deeper into the woods, searching for the clearing. Nico insisted it was no problem, which made Will feel more at ease. He was still excited, however, to show Nico what he made (the gift was hidden in his bag, with food for the birthday picnic).
The two made their way into the clearing in content silence, Will secretly itching to see Nico’s reaction to his gift. But he remained as patient as he could, happy to enjoy Nico’s smiles, quiet laughs and stories, enjoying his birthday together in the peaceful way Nico loved. In fact, Will (and Kayla, but she was sworn to secrecy) was the only demigod at camp who knew it was the Italian boy’s birthday - all Nico’s other friends were off in New Rome or the mortal world, after all. It made for far less stress on Nico’s half: he didn’t want random people wishing him a happy birthday all day. No, Nico di Angelo was perfectly joyful to spend the night with his Significant Annoyance under the stars, especially when he surprised him with a gift.
“Here you go.” Will said, presenting a soft package wrapped in black paper with tiny ghosts. The Son of Apollo bought it specially for that, and the remaining roll would stay unused in his cabin except from wrapping Nico’s other gifts: so he was relived to see the other boy smile ever so slightly.
“Thanks, Will.”
“Don’t thank me yet, you haven’t opened it!”
“Okay, okay!” He almost laughed, ripping the paper to reveal an equally dark sweater. “Wow, did you make this?” Will hummed in excited agreement, watching Nico unfold and hold it up to the moonlight.
“Oh my Gods.” He read the words and for a moment Will thought he was going to hate it. But then Nico laughed - no, giggled -  a clear, pure sound cutting through the crisp air like a knife through cake. “It’s pretty cool, thanks Will.” The compliment wouldn’t seem like much to an outsider, but Will knew it meant a lot. Nico turned to look at the blond with his dark brown eyes, plain and simple in a way Will could get lost in forever. They were creased at the sides as he smiled, a true smile with his eyes that Will enjoyed so much. He looked good, too, with the well-fitting black sweater on, small letters and tiny illustration embroidered on the neckline.
“Stop staring.” Nico suppressed a smile, going red as his boyfriend shook his head slightly before looking Nico in the eye again.
“Aww, but you look so cute!”

Mass Effect 2, final hours before O4 Relay mission, f!shenko, 1098 words
#6 I wish could believe you
She stood at her desk looking at the same two messages over and over. The blue glow from the fish tank was the only light in the cabin. It was well into the evening and everyone was spending the last few hours before entering the O4 Relay in their own way. She had chosen to seek the solitude of her quarters, away from the well-meaning intentions of her shipmates. They were good people, perhaps rough round the edges. Some more than others but in the end she has been able to count on each and every one of them.
Now Kayla Shepard wanted nothing more than for it all to be over with. Or more precisely for none of it to have happened at all. She wished the original Eden Prime mission had simply been a shakedown cruise like it was supposed to have been. She would never have become the Savior of the Citadel, never become a Specter, never replaced Anderson as captain of the Normandy, never would have died, never would have left Kaidan…
Kaidan…
Her eyes found the words from his email sent after their reunion on Horizon. Specific ones standing out to her.
I guess I really don't know who either of us is anymore. Do you even remember that night before Ilos? That night meant everything to me... maybe it meant as much to you.
I couldn't bear it if I lost you again. If you're still the woman I remember I know you'll find a way to stop these Collector attacks.
He had accused her of betraying him on Horizon and then he’d sent that. He apologized. He explained as best he could. The whole situation was crappy, but he tried. As conflicted as he was, he had tried. He remembered their time together and it had meant something to him. And he still believed in her…
She closed her eyes as she refused to read the next email. One from her to him. It was lame and inadequate. But how were you supposed to respond to your onetime boyfriend who thought you were dead for two years after being resurrected? Whatever the correct response was, her reply email had been a far cry from it. It was so bad she had it committed to memory.
‘Kaidan I got your email. Horizon was just a…I don’t know what to say. I know this could be a one-way trip…Just take care of yourself like you always have. And I’ll never forgot.’
It wasn’t enough. Nothing she ever did was enough. It didn’t matter how many accolades were piled at her feet; it was never enough. Others were safe. Others had lives. Others got to be happy. All her efforts were able to make sure everyone else survived to be safe, happy, alive. But for herself, her happiness never lasted. Two years ago it had forcibly been taken from her by the Collectors. Leaving those she had come to care for to pick up the pieces--
“Uh, Commander? You have an incoming message,” Joker’s voice called over the Comm.
Keeping her eyes shut Shepard said, “Unless it’s an emergency which I don’t see how there could be one at this point, I really don’t want to be disturbed.”
“You should take this, Commander.”
“Joker, I said—"
“Shepard, trust me. Take the call.”
She quiet for a moment. Rarely did Joker insist her take any call. It was more likely he would lose the channel instead.  “Fine. Patch it through.”
Without an acknowledgement of the order, her display case above her desk flickered to life as she sighed, wondering who Joker thought important enough to insisted she talk to before a possible suicide mission.
“Hello, Kayla.”
Shepard’s eyes shot open at the sound of the very last voice she ever thought her hear. On the screen larger than life was Kaidan Alenko. She felt her heart stop as his familiar whiskey colored eyes gazed back, warm and kind as ever. He was calling her? Now? Why?
“Kaidan?”
“Yeah, Shep. It’s me. I…I got wind that you were on the final leg of your…mission.”
“We are just a few hours from…”
He nodded. “Yeah…Look I got your email and I know things between us aren’t…ideal. But I don’t want to leave things like they are…”
“Kaidan, I’m not… There’s no guarantee I’ll be back this time…”
“You came back.”
“Kaidan, I died. You’ve had to years to—"
“I never forgot you, Kayla. I couldn’t. And now…Seeing you again. Alive. Knowing that you are off on another mission to save the galaxy… and I can’t be there…I’m not over you, Kayla.”
“You shouldn’t be here.”
“Neither should you, Shepard. You shouldn’t have to do this again. You gave it all once before. Why do you have to do it again?”
“Because there’s no one else.”
“Shepard, you don’t have to do it like this. There has to be another way. Cerberus—"
“Can’t be trusted. I know…Why did you call, Kaidan?”
“Because I know you and I know you are going to do what it takes to complete the mission. I know you’ll find a way to beat this. I know you’ll come back.”
“How do you know that?”
“Because I lost you once, Kayla. I can’t lose you again.”
“I wish I could believe you.”
“I guess I’ll have to prove it to you when you get back.”
“Kaidan—"
“You will make it back and we can…We can try again.”
“Alright, Kaidan.”
“I’ll let you go. I know how you get before the final mission…Just remember that—"
“I’ll remember that. I’ll remember what you said.”
“Good. I’ll see you on the other side, Kayla.”
“See you then.”
He gave her a smile and the screen reverted to the display case with her ship collection. With all her heart she wanted to believe that she’d make it out alive to see him again. To be able to work through Horizon and everything else. But Kaidan had always been the more optimistic one of them and without him at her side believing his words was just hard. Everything seemed hard without him…
She picked up the picture of her one-time Lt. that had somehow made its way into her cabin after she’d assumed command of the Normandy. It wasn’t one she’d taken. It looked like a picture from his service file. Regardless she was grateful it was there. At least at times she could pretend he was with her.
But in that moment all she could think was ‘I wish I could believe you.’

“  Have you seen RENATA “REN” CRUZ  around ? I hear they’re a CASHIER AT THE MEADOWS BY DAY, DANCER/ESCORT AT FAUX FOLIE BY NIGHT who can sometimes be MULISH & SILVER-TONGUED. But I also heard they can be VENTURESOME & OBSERVANT if you catch them on a good day. They’re usually hanging around THE PINT in their spare time. I sure hope they’re alright ! ”
—  hey there friends! i’m kayla and dsjfskhfskh it’s been awhile since i’ve written in a group. pls excuse me while i brush the rust off, yeah? hopefully i’ll have a full stats / bio page up for my girl ren soon, but in the meantime feel free to jump beneath the cut for a brief run down!
BASICS.
Name: Renata Cruz
Age: 31 years old
Birthday: December 8th, 1989
Hometown: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Length of time in Chicago: 8 years
Gender: Cisgender woman
Pronouns: She/her
Sexuality: Pansexual
Affiliation: Civilian / Neutral
Occupation: Daytime cashier at The Meadows Nursery, Dancer (and occasional escort) at Faux Folie
Relationship status: Single
Positive traits: Adventurous, articulate, highly observant, self-reliant, engaging
Negative traits: Obstinate, suspicious, ambiguous, illusive, reactive
BACKGROUND.
TW: Sex Work Industry
Born and raised on the outskirts of Albuquerque, she moved to Chicago with her brother, Javier, when she was 23. It was meant to be a fresh start for them both, but the pair quickly fell into financial problems. Left with little other choice, Ren began working multiple jobs just to make ends meet.
And Javier? Well. Ren was never entirely sure what her brother did every time he walked out the door. She assumed he’d found a job, but Javier largely kept his life beyond their apartment hidden and more often than not relied on her income to cover his half of the bills, too. That, in combination with his secrecy, ultimately put a huge strain on their relationship. Javi moved out and over time they began speaking less and less.
About a year ago he showed up at her door again for the first time in months, panicked and desperate for help. He needed money, a lot of it, and fast. The only problem? She didn’t have it. Something about his frantic state got to her, though, and Ren did what any good sister would do... she found someone who did.
Enter Jean-Jacques Baptiste de Romanet. A man who absolutely expected to be repaid. In hindsight, she really should’ve expected what happened next. Rather than stick around to help her come up a plan Javi disappeared. When JJ came to collect Ren had nothing to give. The rest, as they say, is history.
She’s been in his employment ever since - primarily as a dancer at Faux Folie, but Ren’s been known to also take on escort jobs when required. She’s still livid at Javier for leaving her to deal with his mess (again) but part of her can’t help but wonder... did he actually vanish by choice, or by was something more sinister at hand?
WANTED CONNECTIONS.
I’ve tried to keep her brothers story vague for plotting purposes, but the idea is that he’d gotten himself involved with one of the families to some extent and (for reasons up for discussion) ended up owing them money. Could’ve been legitimate debt, could’ve been he was skimming money, could’ve been a number of things. Either way, it’s ultimately what set off a whole chain of events. I’d love to find someone directly tied into this as well as others he knew, possibly worked with or for, etc.
Customers/Clients. This applies to her day job, too, but especially for Faux Folie. They could just be a familiar face, they could be a favorite regular, they could be someone keeping any eye on her because once upon a time she heard something she shouldn’t have. The sky is the limit with where this could go.
Friends!! Again, very self explanatory, but after living here for awhile she’s bound to have a few people in her inner circle.

Y/N POV
I made my way up to the firehouse for my shift. I enter the firehouse and header to the locker room and put all my things away and headed to the kitchen to get myself a cup of coffee and have breakfast. I sat down at the table and started to eat while reading the mornings newspaper. After about 3 hours the bells went off and we went out for our first call of the day.
BUUZZZZZZZ – TRUCK 81, SQUAD 3, AMBULANCE 61, INJURY ON THE BLUE LINE, LOGAN SQUARE STATION.
We pull up to the scene and got out the truck and started to walk beside the stopped train.
"Be carful the third rail could still be hot" one of the workers said.
We made are way down to the drivers window. He believes that while going through the tunnel that he hit someone, so we needed to make sure that the rails where turned off to start looking. After about 3 minutes the power was turned off and we went in search for the person. About half way down the train we see a teenage boy was trapped under the train badly injured.
"It looks like his leg is stuck" Casey said.
"Hey my names Matt, this is Y/N."
"Jacob" the boy said.
"What happened Jacob?" Casey said.
The boy answered "My sister, Kayla and me went into the subway through a access door to look around. But when we looked behind us, we tried to get out the tunnel."
I got up and started to he into the tunnel while Casey radioed to Chief that there was another kid in the tunnel and that I was going inside.
I walked down the side of the train calling out for Kayla, hoping to hear a reply from her, or a noise to find where she was.
"Call Out" I said while looking under the train.
I kept walking and I started to see parts of a body, an arm. I thought ok, maybe that's the worst of it she lost and arms that's fine. She can live without her arm. She'll be able to manage with that. I kept walking further into the tunnel and the sight I saw shook me to the core. A teenage girl, dismembered buy the train, scattered along the tracks. I stopped moving. I started to hear Casey talking to me through my radio "Y/N" and I didn't move and answer him. I just stayed there looking at this poor girl, wondering what life she could have had.
I can hear Casey coming into the tunnel calling for me. I still didn't move. He walked right up to me and then he could see what I could see. He then started to talk into his radio. "Yeah, we found the victim. Need two body bags, latex gloves more lights." Other member of truck 81 came into the tunnel and made there way down. Casey gave out his orders and they got started collected the girls body. I just didn't move.
Time skip – Firehouse, End Of Shift.
I held in my emotions all day. Didn't cry or anything, but I know this got to me. More than any other scene I had been on. It's not like I've lost people on the job before. I was in the locker room getting my bags and putting on my coat when Kelly walked into the locker room and opens his locker. I could tell he was looking at me.
"Hey" He says while putting on his coat.
"Hey Kelly" I say while closing my locker.
He walks up to me and make me look at him. "Wanna come to Molly's tonight. Relax after the day we've had" he asks.
"Ermm... Yeah. I'm gonna go home first and I'll meet you there in an hour or so." I say while starting to walk out of the firehouse and walk over to my car.
I got home, had a shower and sat down in the kitchen at my isle. My emotions started to get to me and I let all the tears out. I started to drink some of the beers I had in my fridge. I finished a few and started to get myself ready to head over to Molly's. I slowly drove my way over to Molly's and I felt ok to drive. I headed inside didn't see Kelly yet so I went up to the car and asked Herrmann for a vodka soda and 2 shots. I downed the shots before he could turn away and finished half of my drink within 5 seconds. I needed to forget about what happened on shift today.
By the time Kelly entered the bar it had been about 30 minutes and I have had about 2 vodka soda and 4 shots, and was currently waiting for my 3 vodka soda.
"Hey Y/N" Kelly said as he sat down next to me and ordered himself a beer. I replied and we got into normal conversation. After about 2 more drinks I started to get a bit buzzed. Kelly could tell there was something off we me. I was drinking more than normal, and he didn't even know about the 2 beers she had before coming out tonight. Most of 51 was at the bar that night. I was currently sitting between Casey and Kelly and Herrmann was standing in front of me. I wasn't saying anything. I knew that they were talking but it was like I blocked them out. I wasn't in my body, it was like I was floating and looking down on myself and I had no control over what I was doing. I felt lost.
At some point, I don't know what happened but I broke. I was holding my glass in my hand above the table and I just left it go. It shattered all over the table and my drink started to go everywhere, the floor my lap taking pieces of broken glass with it. Everyone at 51, district 21 and even Med, everyone in that whole bar stopped and looked at me. I didn't acknowledge them. It was like I was locked in my body. Trapped I didn't move or flinch when the glass broke and the alcohol made its way onto my lap. Kelly put his hand on my arm and spoke to me. I still didn't move. I just left tears fall from my eyes staring straight ahead. Chief who was at Molly's sitting with Mouch came over and out his hand on my shoulder and asked Kelly to take me home. I still stayed there crying not talking or moving. Everyone know I was struggling with what happened today, but I didn't want to talk to anyone. I needed to move one. That's what you're meant to do when your on a call.
Kelly got my up and since he has only had 2 drinks the whole night he drove me to his place as he didn't think I should be alone tonight. I still hadn't talked. Once we got to Kelly's I entered his apartment and walked over to the coach and sat down and looked out the window. And I started crying hard. I couldn't stop myself.
KELLY'S POV
Once we got inside the apartment I went into the kitchen while Y/N sat down on the coach and I got us both a glass of water. When I entered the living room I saw Y/N full out crying, finding it hard to breath talking to herself, it broke my heart to see her in this much pain. She is the strongest person I know. But we all know what they say about the sting people. At some point everything comes down on them. I make my way over to her and held her in my arms rocking her back and forth and telling her everything this would ok in the end. After about 20 she has cried herself to sleep. I picked her up and carried her into my bedroom and tucked her in and I made my way back to the living room. I hadn't seen her like this ever. I guess even the strongest people need breakdown sometimes.

Swapped With A Kiss - Chapter Four Teaser (Tom Holland x Reader)
Tumblr media
Series Masterlist
Warnings: An Fluff, language, potential smut in future chapters, a pinch of angst
Series Synopsis: You and Tom were simply meant to be. But what the hell happens when you wake up and you’re suddenly with his best friend and your life is backwards?
A/N: I think we’re getting to the meat of this fic now and I’m sort of loving it! I hope you guys are too! Can’t wait to hear all of your feed back about it and let me know what ya’ll think so far! And as always moodboard by @osterfield-holland-andcompany!  Xxx, N
“Why do you keep saying my name like that?” Tom asked as his lips curled up into a small smile at the way you were saying his name. He hadn’t ever really paid attention to you before, but the way you were calling out for him felt so odd suddenly. Almost as if you hadn't said his name in a really long time, it just felt different for him and he couldn’t put his finger on it.
He was still worried about you from the other day. Tom had never seen you act that way around him and it really caught him off guard. The fearful look in your eyes, staring back at him; looking almost as if you were afraid of Tom, and that freaked him out most of all. Your eyes were screaming at him and he couldn’t figure out what was going on with you. But he hadn’t forgotten that look in your eye. He didn’t think he ever could.
“Doesn’t this all feel wrong to you? I know my Tom is in there, I fucking know it...”
Tom had known you for so long, he thought he had you completely figured out. But those words haunted him the last few days and no matter what, he just couldn’t shake them. Spending the day with you was something he was eager to do so he could try and get to the bottom of it. But now you were acting even more unusual, continuing to perplex Tom more and more.
“Oh I didn’t even realize I was doing that,” you apologized, looking at him like a deer in headlights as he called you out on your actions. Typical Tom to be so cheeky to try and figure out what was bothering you, “Sorry, To-ooh!” you stopped yourself as you put your hand over your mouth, stifling your laugh as you made Tom laugh.
“You seem distracted, Y/N,” Tom offered as he ran a hand through his curls while he took another sip of his coffee, “You know you can tell me anything. I’m your best friend,” he reminded you ever so subtly as he licked his lips and looked at you with his big brown eyes.
Taking a breath, you tried your best to shrug it off but you knew you couldn’t. Tom could always read you like an open book, this one was no exception. But you knew telling him the truth was out of the question. Especially after learning he was dating Chanel the other night and promising yourself you wouldn’t hurt Harrison. Some things were going to have to wait.
“I uh...actually, Tom, sorry!” you stammered over your words as your fingers ran through the ends of your hair nervously. You couldn’t even look him in the eye right now, you had no idea what to tell him, “I’m just not really feeling myself lately, and I-”
“...Are you having second thoughts?” Tom finished for you as he bit his lip. Why would he even put an idea like that in your head? You were marrying his best friend and were the perfect couple in his eyes. Why on earth would he even blurt out something like that to you?

It was tradition on the first day of fall for all the year-round campers to sneak into the Aphrodite cabin after lights out for a few rounds of truth or dare. Seeing as Nico had agreed to stay at camp rather than wonder the globe for the foreseeable future and was now officially a year-round camper, he was dragged from his cabin in the middle of the night by a grinning blond who, for once, wasn’t wearing his trademark green scrubs.
Normally, Nico would be ecstatic to find Will whisking him away in the middle of the night, but when they wound up outside the Aphrodite cabin, Nico started feeling anxious.
“C’mon, it’ll be fun, I promise,” Will told him with a tug on his hand. “Don’t you trust me?”
“Of course I do,” Nico grumbled indignantly, and trudged into the cabin behind Will.
It was immediately overwhelming. Nico was used to his own very empty cabin and the moderately filled infirmary - but this? The cabin was practically overflowing with campers, laying on bunk beds and sitting on the floor and standing near the walls. Nico didn’t understand how much noise there could be in a single building. How could any of them hold a conversation in a place like this? He squeezed Will’s hand, about to pull him close and whisper-shout that he was just going to go back to bed and forget that he’d seen any of this, when the rest of the cabin seemed to notice Will’s presence.
“Will!” one of the Aphrodite girls - Nico never learned their names because they hardly ever went to the arena - exclaimed, and grabbed Will’s free hand to pull him further into the cabin, thus dragging Nico further inside as well. “We were waiting for you! What took you so long?”
“I had to get Nico,” he said, and pulled Nico closer to bring him to the girl’s attention.
“Oh,” she said, and Nico saw her gaze flicker down to their joined hands. Her eyes widened before she looked back up at Will. “Oh!”
Will didn’t seem to notice. “But we’re here now. What’s first on the agenda?”
“Veteran’s choice.”
Nico didn’t understand what she meant by that, but by the surprised look on Will’s face, Nico figured that it was something of a big deal to him.
“No way. Me?” Will asked. He started looking around the room frantically, spouting off names of campers that Nico recognized from the summer or from years past, though none of the names were of people present. “But… Not even Annabeth is here?”
“Nope, she’s seasonal now, remember?” the girl replied.
“Seasonal?” Nico cut in, cocking his head in confusion.
Will squeezed his hand, all of his attention straying to Nico and making his heart flutter at the feeling of those incredibly blue eyes on him. “She’s in school now. This is the first time since she was...what, seven? That she hasn’t been a year-round camper.” He looked back to the Aphrodite girl. “Have I really been here the longest out of anyone?”
She nodded. “That’s right! So you pick the games tonight!”
Will grinned. He raised one hand into the air and called out, “Everybody, circle up for truth or dare!”
A cheer went up as campers formed a circle on the floor of the cabin. Some had climbed down from bunks to get a spot in the ring, while others had scrambled up from the floor so that they wouldn’t get caught playing. Will pulled Nico into the circle, tugging him down to sit beside him in the ring. He kicked his legs out in front of him and crossed his ankles, and let go of Nico’s hand for the first time since they arrived to lean back on his hands.
“Alright, alright, settle in, y’all. We’re in for a long night,” Will said as the chatter of the room quieted down around them. “You all know the rules of this one. No ask-backs. You can’t pick the same answer three times in a row. Refuse to do the truth, you do the dare, and vice versa. Any questions?”
“Kinda,” Nico muttered without the intention of being heard.
Will shot him a grin and patted his leg. “You’ll catch on quick, Sunshine.”
He turned back to the rest of the group, scanned the faces of those sitting with them in the circle with the same expression that Nico had seen him examining injuries with, like he was deciding what part of the patient was the weakest, the most vulnerable, the part that needed immediate attention.
“Cecil.”
A groan came from across the circle. “Come on, man! Why do you always pick me?”
Will shot him a grin. “Truth or dare, coward.”
Cecil let out a heavy sigh. “Truth.”
“Do you still have a crush on that Demeter girl?”
Cecil flopped onto his back with an even louder groan, covering his face with his hands.
The game still didn’t make much sense to Nico as time wore on, but he tried his best to roll with the punches. Someone asked him about the skull ring he always wore, and someone else asked about the coolest place he’d ever visited. Then, when he wasn’t allowed to say truth for the third time in a row, he was dared to steal something from another cabin - so he’d shadowtraveled away to the Apollo cabin and came back wearing one of Will’s flannel shirts.
He didn’t understand the weird looks everybody kept giving him after that, nor did he understand why Will suddenly made a new rule that he could veto any questions asked that were too personal. Nico just didn’t want to accidentally steal from someone he didn’t know, and it was starting to get kind of cold in the cabin - why shouldn’t he borrow one of Will’s shirts?
It was Lou Ellen’s turn next. “Will, do you have a crush on anyone in this room?”
Nico thought he could hear Will’s breath hitch next to him, even with the chorus of ooos that rose throughout the room. When he looked up at Will’s face, he was just as calm and collected as always.
“You didn’t ask for truth or dare,” he said instead of answering.
“You took dare the last two rounds,” she countered. “There’s no getting out of this one, Sunny Boy, and vetoing will just give us the answer anyway.”
Will rolled his eyes. “You should be a lawyer, Lou. Yes, I have a crush on someone in this room. You already knew that, of course, but thanks for making it public knowledge.”
“What are friends for?” she replied, smiling brightly.
“Whatever. Anyway, now that it’s back to me, I’m calling this the last round of this game. If anybody’s dying to embarrass somebody in this game, this is your last chance. Chiara, truth or dare?”
The last round went surprisingly quickly, though Nico suspected it was because people were getting eager to end things. He was getting pretty tired himself, and wouldn’t have minded heading to bed over an hour ago. However, when Will announced the end of one game, he started another. Around them, people jumped in and out of the circle. Some were grabbing snacks or running to the bathroom between games, others were jumping in for a new game they preferred while others ran away from a new game they despised. Someone insisted that everyone sticking around for the next game swapped seats so that they weren’t next to the same people for another whole game. Nico ended up between Kayla and Julia, and directly across the circle from Will.
Once everyone was settled again, Will said, “New game: paranoia. Whisper a question into the ear of the person next to you. They have to answer out loud with the name of a person in this room. Then, I’ll flip a drachma - heads, you say the question out loud, tails, you don’t. Anybody wanna start us off?”
Valentina’s hand shot into the air. “Ooh, I do!” She turned to the boy sitting next to her and whispered something into his ear.
“Oh, easy,” he said. “It’s Nico.”
Nico’s head snapped toward Will, just in time to watch him flip the coin. “Tails. Let’s move on.”
Nico pulled his knees up to his chest and tried to hide behind his own legs.
A few rounds later, Kayla was whispering into Nico’s ear, “Who is the funniest person in the room?”
Nico took a second to scan the circle, though he hadn’t spent enough time with anyone to know whether or not they were funny. “Um. Will?”
Across the circle, Will seemed to perk up at the mention of his name. He flipped the coin and smiled when he said, “Heads!”
“I asked him who he thought was the funniest person here,” Kayla explained.
“Dude!” Cecil exclaimed, leaning forward so that Nico could see him around Julia. “No way is Will funnier than I am!”
“Whatever, Cecil,” Will told him, still smiling brightly. “Just let him think my bad jokes are funny. Anyway, it’s your turn, Nico.”
“Oh, um.” Nico thought for a second before he turned to whisper in Julia’s ear.
The game continued on. Lou Ellen and Cecil both admitted that Will was their best friend, which led to a short argument over who Will’s best friend had to be. By the time Will’s turn came around and he said Nico’s name in answer to whatever question had been whispered into his ear, Cecil exclaimed, “You better not mean that Nico’s your best friend over me!”
“Guess you’ll just have to wait and see,” Will replied, grinning, and flipped the coin in his hand. “It’s heads.”
Damien said, “I asked him who has the best hair.”
Nico barely noticed the light shade of pink growing on Will’s cheeks as he said, “Okay! Everybody find a new seat for round two.”
Nico stayed seated while the rest of the room moved around him, and suddenly Will was sitting beside him once again.
“Hey,” Will told him, bumping his shoulder against Nico’s. “Having fun yet?”
“It’s...certainly interesting,” Nico replied.
“Yeah, they’re all kind of a lot,” Will laughed. “You’ll get used to everybody by Christmas, trust me.”
“Will, it’s your turn,” Austin reminded him from across the circle.
“Yeah, yeah,” Will said, waving a hand at his brother. Will leaned closer to Nico, his breath fanning against Nico’s cheek as he whispered, “Who would brag about being able to take down a monster, but would run back crying if they actually saw a monster in the woods?”
Nico had to really focus on Will’s words rather than the feeling of Will so close to him. “It’s Cecil, no question.”
Will snorted rather unattractively and dropped his forehead onto Nico’s shoulder.
“What did you say? What was the question?” Cecil demanded.
Will, still laughing and with his head still resting on Nico’s shoulder, flipped the drachma; it was tails. “Don’t worry about it, Cecil. It’s better this way, trust me.” Will lifted his head and bumped his shoulder into Nico’s once more as he said, “You’re up.”
Nico was growing to hate the part of this game where he had to think up questions, so he just copied Will’s instead. Lou Ellen answered without hesitation: “Cecil.”
Will flipped the coin. “Tails.”
“Oh, come on!”
Nico grew more and more tired as the second round of the game went on - nobody mentioned either him or Will for most of the round, and Nico was practically lulled to sleep by Will’s frequent call of heads or tails. He didn’t realize that he was resting against Will’s side until Will pulled away slightly in order for someone to whisper in his ear. Either way, Nico didn’t move, and instead let his eyes slip shut.
“I’m not answering that,” Will said, his laughter tinged with discomfort.
“C’mon, he’s asleep! He’ll never have to know!” somebody else called from across the room.
“Oh my gods, you guys set this up, didn’t you? This was all just a big ploy to get me to admit my feelings for Nico! You’re all the worst friends ever.”
Nico’s eyes snapped open. There was no way he heard that right. There was no way that Will actually liked him back...right?
He lifted his head from Will’s shoulder, and Will turned toward him with a look of dread on his face. “Oh, Styx,” Will whispered, and suddenly jumped to his feet. He announced, “Game over,” and ran out the door, slamming it behind himself.
The cabin was silent for a single minute before campers started shoving at each other and blaming everyone else for ruining the night. Nico found himself stuck to the floor by the look of betrayal on Will’s face as he ran from the cabin. Should he go after Will? Would Will even want to see him after that? There was only one way for him to find out.
Nico stretched the nearest shadows toward him until the space around him was dark enough for him to slip into the shadows and disappear, thinking only of reappearing wherever Will had gone to.
He wound up on the Aphrodite cabin’s porch.
“Will?” Nico said quietly, and in the darkness he saw Will rubbing furiously at his face.
“Hey, Sunshine,” Will croaked.
Nico sat down beside him on the steps, and Will looked away. “Hey,” Nico said, reaching out for Will’s cheek and turning his head back toward him - Will’s eyes dropped to his lap. “Why did you leave?”
Will laughed bitterly. “Because that was embarrassing.”
“This whole night as been embarrassing for me,” Nico told him, and brushed a tear away with his thumb. “You didn’t see me running out of there.”
Will groaned and dropped his forehead onto Nico’s shoulder. “I’m so sorry. This wasn’t how I planned on you finding out.”
Nico pushed him back and held Will’s face with both hands, forcing eye contact between them. “You wanted me to find out?”
“Um...yeah? I mean, eventually,” Will told him. “I like you, but I just wasn’t going to tell you until I figured out whether or not you like me too.”
Nico let go of Will in order to flail his hands around for emphasis. “You were going to tell me? I was prepared to take this to my grave!”
“You like me?” Will asked. “Why wouldn’t you tell me?”
“Because it’s embarrassing!”
“Would you just kiss already?”
Both heads snapped toward the cabin behind them, where the doors and windows had opened to reveal the entire population of year-round campers watching their flustered exchange.
“Oh my gods,” Will cried, burying his face in his hands, though Nico could still see the bright red tips of his ears.
Nico pulled one of Will’s hands away and told him, “Hold on tight,” before he tugged Will with him into a shadow, and the two disappeared.

PART 6
"What it is?" Jimin asked, making you look up from your pizza to him.
You sighed, leaning back on the couch sofa in your living room. You guys sat at the coffee table as you enjoyed each others company and forgot about everything you were both were stressed about for a while... Until he bought that up, at least.
"What is what?" you acted stupid.
"Y/n... Earlier. You were clearly crying in class today. What happened?" He bought his knees up to his chest and rested his chin on them, looking at you concerningly.
You put your pizza down and breathed out, defeated. "I saw Taehyung today," you started. "And he just seemed... Not hisself."
"Yeah, he hasn't been lately," he agreed. "I think he's just upset that the fans are upset. Like, he doesn't want them to feel that way about him, you know? Just give it some time."
"But he told me not to talk to him anymore," you said.
"So what--"
"He seemed serious, Jimin."
He clenched his jaw before poking the inside of his right cheek with his tongue. "Forget him then--"
"No, Jimin, I'm not just going to just ‘forget him’. Tae is my best friend, he's all I had. I don't want him mad at me."
He sucked his teeth, seemingly getting mad. "So I guess I don't exist," he humped.
You cocked your right eyebrow in confusion. "Ummm say ‘sike’ because you and I didn't even start officially becoming friends up until about a week ago."
"But I'm here, right?"
"Yeah and I said he's all that I had, not have. Obviously, I have you right now but not too long ago, it was just him."
Suddenly, he looked sorry. "Oh," he said. "You're right. I'm sorry..."
You shook your head after staring for quite some time. "No, Jimin... Don't be sorry." You rested your hand on his knee, reassuringly.
"I just want things to go back to normal," he whispered.
"Isn't your school almost done with the reconstruction?" you asked, placing your hand back in your crossed lap. "Maybe then, things will change."
He shrugged. "They don't seem like they're getting done anytime soon, to be honest."
"Oh, I'm sorry. That sucks."
He smiled shyly at you. "No, actually, it's okay. I kinda like having class with you now," he said, winking.
"Jimin, are you flirting?" you teased.
"Maybe," he replied, biting his lip in a seductive manner and looking you up and down.
You rolled your eyes, picking a pillow up and throwing it at his face. He instantly picked the pillow back up whilst laughing and gently tossed it back in your lap. You guys silently collected your fits of laughter together before Jimin turned to you again. "Hey, you still owe me ice cream."
"Ugh," you grunted. "Fine, let's go."
He smiled, jumping up quickly to go put on his shoes. You followed in his footsteps and both left the apartment, walking to the nearest ice cream parlor.
"Do you do this often?" Jimin spoke up in the midst of your journey.
"Do what?" you wondered.
"Walk alone at night like this."
"I'm not alone," you scoffed.
"Y/n, you know what I mean."
You shrugged your shoulders. "Sometimes. Why?"
He started to look at the ground as you two continued to walk. "It's just... You need to be more safe, okay?" You looked over at him, making him look back at you. "You're a pretty girl," he started. "And people can be crazy. Just start taking taxis everywhere. Got it?" He took his hand out of his pocket and roughly slapped his hand on your back right shoulder.
"Yah!" you yelled out. It was obviously just a playful hit that you doubt was meant to actually hurt but clearly Jimin just didn't know his power. "The only crazy person is you, you psychopath, who goes out to get ice cream while its cold outside?" you complained, rubbing your back shoulder in the spot where you could still feel some lingering pain.
On your left, Jimin was just cracking up. You scowled at him, still lowkey upset about the hit but quickly getting over it as you both, unnoticeably, arrived at the parlor. "Aww, poor y/n," he joked, as he rubbed the spot for you.
You pushed him off of you just before entering the store as Jimin followed, still laughing.
"What do you want?" you asked.
"What do you want?" he asked back.
"Mint chocolate chip."
He scanned the menu. "Melon," he decided.
You shook your head, then paid for your order as Jimin found you guys a table to sit at. After handing him his bowl and sitting down across from him, you started to worry about something. "I figure this is a bad idea."
Jimin tilted his head, picking his spoon up. "How so?"
"It's just... Last time I was out with Tae--"
"Oh please," he quickly cut you off. "Look around, there's no one here. You don't have to be paranoid, y/n." He started eating his ice cream, clearly not bothered at all. You, however, were still scared.
"I just don't want to bring you boys trouble, I've done enough already."
His shoulders slugged and you could tell that you were sucking the joy out of his pep. You hated to be the person to do that, you did.
A few pauses later, Jimin put his spoon down and reached across the table for yours. He scooped up some ice cream and put it in front of your mouth. "Open up," he said.
You looked around, aware that the worker at the register was carefully watching the both of you. She was sitting, seeing what was about to happen next and Jimin saw this. "I dont care if they see," he said. “We're friends. Am I not allowed to hang out with you?"
Not wanting to argue back, you simply complied, opening your mouth as asked. You ate the scoop and looked at him. "Happy?"
He smiled. "It's good right? Now eat up, don't worry too much." He went back to his own bowl and began to make small talk.
You started to remember what it was like the first time Jimin and you actually had your first real conversation. You realized it was just easy to talk to him about things. He was real but non-judgmental with you. He just wants the best for everyone and you found that to be so nice of him. He truly had a way with making you feel better about every situation and making you forget about things in the time being.
After a little while, you and Jimin walked back to your place, stopping in front of the main entrance. You saw your mom in the lobby, waiting for the elevator, making you turn to Jimin. "It looks like my parents are home," you spoke. "Guess that's your cue to go too."
Jimin looked through the lobby, his eyes slightly widening. "That's your mom?" he questioned. You nodded your head. "She's beautiful! I see where you get your looks from."
You playfully rolled your eyes as you laughed, placing your hand on his chest to slightly shove him. "Please, Jimin." You noted that this was his second time complementing your looks that night and not going to lie, you were flattered.
He laughed too. "Alright give me a hug," he said, pulling you in before you even got the chance. You hugged him back tightly, grateful for him taking your mind off things for a while.
"I'll see you later," you spoke, looking up at him. He looked down and shook his head in agreement before you both let go and he took off.
~~
You and Jimin had been hanging out a little less than usual due to him and the boys having multiple dance practices, meaning he would not only rarely show up to school but you rarley even talked or texted with him. Of course he tried to keep up with you when he could which was better than nothing, you guess. You just kind of missed him.
"Psstt," you heard from behind you.
You turned around to find Kayla, another internatial student like yourself. "Hey," you said, smiling at her. "What's up?"
"I'm freaking out," she replied. "I didn't do my homework last night, I was too busy. Before class starts, can I pleasssee copy yours?"
You shook your head, not minding as you grabbed your homework from your backpack and handed it to her. "You're a life saver!" she exhaled. She quickly copied your homework and within about two minutes, it was back in your hand. "Thank you so much!"
"No problem," you replied, ready to turn back around before she cut you off.
"Wait," she said. "Is it true, about you and Taehyung?"
You sighed, not aware that that was still a thing. "People are still on that?" you asked, semi annoyed. It had almost been two weeks, you thought it was behind you.
She scoffed. "Of course they are girl, you snatched up two of the most wanted guys in this school.” She paused, thinking. “ Well, besides Jungkook and Jaehyun."
You were confused, what did she mean? "Two?"
"Jimin and Taehyung," she responded in a ‘Duh’ tone.
You stared at her for a quick second. "Well to answer your question, no. How bout' you spread that around the next time you decide to gossip?" you snapped. You don't know what it was but you were over it. This rumor ruined your friendship with Taehyung and you were sick of it following you around.
"Jesus, well excuse me," she said, putting her hands up in surrender. "It's not like it was me that started it."
"Well you're sure as hell not helping, no?"
"Attitude much?"
You sighed. She was right. Normally, Kayla was really nice to you so although she was being annoying at the moment, you still couldn't help but feel bad for the way you spoke to her. "I'm sorry," you apologized. "I've just been really stressed."
Her face softened. "Yeah, you look it," she joked, a small grin appearing on her face. "Hey, if you're not busy after school, me and Heejin are gonna go grab some boba if you want to join us?"
You thought it over. Having some girl company didn't sound too bad, it actually sounded like just the perfect plan to you at the time. It wasn't anything significant but given the fact that you only was hanging out with guys for most part, this seemed overdue.
"That actually sounds really nice right about now."
She shook her head. "Okay then, we'll just be waiting for you at the bus stop after school."
Just then, your math teacher walked in and you all started our work.
~
After a long day of 7 classes, you and the girls did end up hanging out. Kayla ordered matcha boba, Heejin ordered strawberry and you ordered coconut. The three of you got a table and sat down, discussing random things such as school and who they liked.
“Taeyong is definitely the most handsome boy in our school,” Kayla stated.
“Really?” you chimed in. “He is super attractive but he’s too mysterious.”
Kayla threw her head back in admiration. “That’s what makes him hot, y/n!” she cried, making you giggle.
"Well, I hands down like Jungkook," Heejin said. "No doubt about it, he is my ultimate crush." She was swooning over him and got dramatically emotional at just the thought of him. "Ugh! My heart is beating so fast even thinking about him, I think I'm going to die!" she then plopped her head on the table as you and Kayla laughed at her silliness. "It's depressing," she said said in a muffled voice, her face still on the cold surface.
"You'll survive," you responded.
She lifted her head back up, looking at you curiously. "Wait, aren't you friends with Jungkook?"
You scoffed, looking around to make sure no one at the surrounding booths heard that. "No," you responded. "I hardly know him."
"Oh, I just assumed because you and Taeh--"
Heejin was interrupted by Kayla shoving her quickly as a means to get her to stop talking. Kayla cleared her throat. "So, y/n," she started, changing the subject. "Heejin and I were thinking about starting this club--a dance club and we were wondering if you would be willing to join?"
Heejin gave her a look, scrunching her eyebrows together, as did you, wondering where this was coming from. "Me?" you asked. "Why me of all people?"
"Because," Kayla started. "I see how you are in class, you're a team player. I already know you would do well on our team. Plus, you just look like you can dance," she chuckled.
Her explanation wasn't good enough and you were still confused. Heejin still looked confused too but she seemed to not want to bud into it.
"What do you say?"
You started to stutter. "I-I-I.... I, um... I'm not sure," you said. "Dancing isn't really my thing..." She suddenly started to look disappointed, which made you feel a little bad. "But I'll let you know," you added, wanting to give her a glimpse of hope.
She smiled again, shaking her head. A few minutes later, you then dismissed yourself and said your goodbyes before you headed out the cafe door to go home.
A/N: Surprise! Heejin is in this. She’ll be around a little more often now hehe okay stay tuned to see what happens next! <33

Steve's POV
As soon as the elevator doors opened on the ground floor Kayla stepped away from the wall. Steve placed his hand on her mid back to guide her outside. The anticipation of what was to come was driving him nuts.
"I'm over here." Kayla said quietly pointing over her shoulder.
Steve was right on her heels as she led him to her shiny black BMW. She unlocked it so both of them could climb in. Steve was quiet for the whole drive. He wanted her to stew. He'd break her apart when they got to their destination. Every dirty thought running threw his head would be voiced.
When the car slowed Kayla turned into a parking garage. They were uptown from the avengers tower. She parked on the third level of the garage. Steve followed her across the cement as his heart pounded in his chest. They stopped at another elevator. Kayla pressed the up button then turned to face Steve.
"Question" she said softly.
Steve smirked then stepped closer to her. She stepped back hitting the cement wall. He placed his hands on each side of her head blocking her in. She was already squirming and he loved it.
"Answer" he whispered.
Kayla visibly gulped.
"What do you want?" She asked barely above a whisper.
Steve chuckled. He was surprised by that question. Before he could answer the elevator dinged then opened it's doors. Steve grabbed her hand pulling her inside the small space. He pressed her firmly into the wall with his body. God she smelt incredible.
"That's usually my question." Steve chuckled.
"I need to know." She said breathlessly.
"For the first time in my life I can't control myself. I want to make you my good little girl. I want to teach you everything I desire. I want you to crave pleasing me. Surrender it all to me." He whispered against her neck.
His lips barely grazed against her skin. He could hear how labored her breathing was now.
"Does that sound like something you'd enjoy?" He asked leaning back so he could see her face.
Her eyes were closed as her head was tilted back. Steve gently caressed her cheek. He moved his hand down slowly until he could wrap his large hand around her throat. He squeezed lightly. He smirked as a low moan escaped Kayla's lips.
"Answer me baby girl." Steve said sternly.
Kayla's eyes fluttered open. Steve could tell they were glazed over and he loved the sight of it.
"Yes, I want that so bad daddy." She groaned.
Steve's dick was instantly harder than it had ever been. No woman had ever even attempted to call him that. He loved the sound of it coming from her lips but there was something he wanted to hear more. The elevator doors opened on the top floor of the sky scraper. Steve pulled Kayla out of the small space into the hallway. She cleared her throat as she stepped past him. Right down the hall was the door to her penthouse apartment. As soon as the door was unlocked and open Steve picked her up then stepped inside. He slammed the door shut with a swift kick.
"As much as I love the sound of you calling me daddy until I tell you otherwise you'll call me Captain." Steve ordered breathlessly as he set her back on her feet.
"Yes captain" she whispered.
"Good girl" he cooed.
She grabbed his hand then pulled him down a hall. They entered another room which was Kayla's bedroom. Steve closed the door behind him. He grabbed Kayla by the hips then pulled her back flush against his front. He held her tightly against him as he leaned forward slightly so his lips would ghost across the skin of her cheek.
"I'm gonna make you feel so fucking good darlin." He whispered against her skin.
Steve felt the shudder that ran threw Kayla's body. He used the tips of his fingers to slowly trail up her ribs. Her head fell back on his shoulder as she released a shaky breath. He smirked against the side of her face.
"Arms up" he ordered in a whisper as he grabbed the hem of her crop top.
Steve smiled as her arms shot up quickly allowing him to pull the thin fabric off of her. Her skin was so soft and smooth under his calloused fingers. His hands slid down her smooth stomach to her jeans. He popped the button then undid the zipper. Kayla was leaning back against him giving him full access to do as he pleased to her. Her shaky breaths fanned against his neck as he peeled her pants slowly down her ass. He bent down slowly so he could pull her pants down her legs. As he descended he kept his face close to her back. He saw the goosebumps that appeared on her skin from his breath or the barest touch of his lips.
Without needing to say a word Kayla stepped out of her pants leaving her in only her matching black bra and panties. Steve hummed in approval as he rose back to his full height. His hands (and dick) were twitching to throw her on the bed and fuck her into oblivion but he knew he needed to take his time. He wanted to draw it out. He wanted to tease her and make her beg for her captain's dick.
Steve turned her around to face him. The sight of her was truly divine. A pink hue had taken over her cheeks as she bit her bottom lip. Her eyes were glazed over but fixed on him. He grabbed her waist then guided her backwards until the back of her legs hit the bed.
"Sit" he commanded.
She immediately did as he said sitting on the edge of the bed. She looked up at him threw her lashes. He chuckled darkly then slowly pulled his own shirt over his head. He stepped back from her to remove his jeans just as slowly. He could feel her eyes burning into his skin. When he was standing in only his briefs he stepped back to her. He grabbed her under her thighs then effortlessly picked her up. She squealed in surprise as he tossed her onto the bed.
Steve crawled towards her like the predator he was. Her chest was rising and falling in quick motions. He stopped to kneel between her legs. He hovered over her placing one hand next to her head. His other hand grabbed her leg right above her knee. He licked his lips as he looked down at her. His hand moved slowly up her thigh, over her hip, up her stomach, between her breasts, then stopped at her throat. His hand tightened slightly as his face moved closer to her's. His lips were barely hovering above her plump pink ones. He watched her ragged breathing for a moment then crashed his hungry lips against her's. She hummed into the kiss as Steve pushed his tongue past her lips. She didn't even attempt to fight him for dominance and he couldn't be more satisfied. He already had her completely under his control. He broke away from her lips to trail sloppy wet kisses down her jaw to her neck. He moved up to her ear then pulled at the lobe with his teeth. She gasped turning her head to the side.
He chuckled as he felt her hips buck up. He knew she was trying to get some kind of friction. He sat up leaving her breathless below him. He slid his hands under her back to quickly unhook her bra. He tossed it to the floor. He grabbed her thighs throwing them over his own legs. As he bent down to assault her already hard nipples with his tongue he made sure to rub his clothed hardness against her. He took her nipple between his teeth. She moaned as her back arched off the bed. He moved to her other nipple doing the same to it.
"Captain" she whimpered.
He growled against the small hardened nub. God that sounded so good. He slowly moved to lick down her stomach to the hem of her panties. He grabbed the black lace then ripped it apart. She groaned as she fisted the blanket. He grabbed her thighs raising them up. He placed small kisses and nipped at the skin of her inner thighs.
"So desperate for it aren't you baby girl?" He asked as he moved closer to where she wanted him.
"Yes captain" she whined.
Steve chuckled as he used one finger to slowly trail between her folds. She whimpered again. She was already soaking wet. He had to still himself for a moment to collect his thoughts.
Kayla cried out as he finally connected his mouth and tongue to her sensitive nerve. He licked and sucked on her like he was starving and she was the only food source for a thousand miles. Her fingers grabbed his hair causing him to groan against her. Her hips bucked upwards.
"Fuck Captain" she whimpered.
Her voice was like music to his ears. He'd never heard something so delicate and beautiful yet absolutely sinful. His hands moved to hold her hips down as he attacked her harder and faster. A groaned came out of her that made Steve want to be buried deep inside her right fucking now. Her hands tightened in his hair as her back arched off the bed. She was close. He immediately pulled back causing the most beautiful whine to escape her lips.
"Please Captain" she choked out.
Steve chuckled darkly.
"That's it baby girl beg for your fucking Captain." He said breathlessly.

Tony's POV
“Ugh, what the hell happened to me?” I groaned in the quiet room as I slowly stand up from the floor and take in my surroundings.
I see that my living room is destroyed with large black demon markings all over the walls. As I get closer towards these marks, I see that they are burned and smell like rubber. I shudder as I remember how I got here in the first place. I made my way towards the bathroom as I wanted to take some painkillers for my massive headache. I walked into the bathroom as I take a double look at myself in the mirror as I couldn’t believe what I turned into.
I saw that my once white hair turn brown as my eyes have a ginger tint. I look towards my body as I see my apricot pointed horns on my head. I see some dark orange lines all over my body that made their way down to my legs. I look down as I saw hooves. Did I have hooves!? I screamed as the current memories flooded back reminding myself what I have done.
“I made a deal with a demon to destroy James Anderson. I am a demon-human hybrid with the powers of seduction and rage.”
Again, as I spoke aloud as I heard no response I only saw my reflection. Before I could make another sound It heard like something was burning in the living room. I quickly ran towards the noise to see the burned pentagram glowing along with the demon markings on the wall. I glance around the room to see no active fire, but the room smelt like burned wood. I make my way towards it only to be pushed back towards the wall. There was a loud thud as all of my family pictures fell off creating a crashing sound that echoed around the small room. I saw a large built man in front of me, with black hair, fur and hooves. Before I could cower in fear the creature spoke.
“Earth to stupid. It’s me. The demon you made your deal with. Now, lets get introductions out of the way.”
He cleared his throat before speaking again, “I’m the Demon Lord, the king of hell! I have given you the powers to stop my son, Reastreo, from leaving and coming to this chaos of freedom.”
“You mean James right?” I questioned the lord as he rolled his eyes back, clearly annoyed at my question.
“Yes! That’s his true name! The name that I gave him! They must have ‘human’ names now.” He mumbled the last part as he glared towards me.
“Why did he leave?” I asked again, but I got shot down with an evil glare.
“That’s not part of our deal!” He gave me a cocky grin as he ignored my question, “You wanted to gain the power to win Kayla back and take your rightful place as the new CEO of Anderson Toys.”
I nodded but looked down at my demon form, “How will this, help me?”
“Come with me,” he formed another portal that he walked in backwards. I silently followed as we ended up in a dark alley way behind a seedy nightclub.
I looked down to see my human form with my white hair but my same coloured eyes. I looked puzzled at the demon, but I saw that he wore human clothes that was jeans with boots that showcased his slick black hair and his abs were clearly noticeable that barred his large black lineage marks.
“Sorry, it’s not everyday when I see a demon with abs and no shirt.” I snickered as he caught on that I was starting.
“You fool! Back in the Demon World we are shirtless, baring their lineage colours on their body’s is a sign of power and pride! As I am in the human world for the time being I wear this.” He looked at his outfit, “Now, to explain how this works.”
“You were given the main powers of seduction, rage, and manipulation. These will be your three keys to get what you want most in life. You can seduce any man or women to get them to do anything that they deeply desire. With manipulation you can be able to smooth talk to anyone to get your way. You also get my rage and you are able to collect Kayla’s energy through this mark that I bared to you. You are also stronger, faster, and clever than before as a demon.”
I rolled up my sleeve to see a sliver crown with demon symbols of revenge. It flickered in the light as it looked like a tattoo.
“Just one more thing,” he exclaimed, “If you can’t destroy Reastreo in two weeks your soul and body will be mine. I will bring you back to the demon world for you to pay for fucking me over! Don’t make me wrong, human pig!”
He then disappeared into darkness as I am left alone back in my bedroom.
‘So, I have two weeks to get Kayla, my dream job and to kill James for taking it away from me.’
I walked towards the broken glass as I lifted up a photo of my parents, “Don’t worry, I’ll make you proud of me. No matter the cost.”
I burnt the photo in my hands causing ashes to form. Before it hit the floor I snapped my fingers and the ashes blew into the air. I decided to pay James and Kayla a visit since I wanted to explore my new demon side.
MEANWHILE BACK AT THE ANDERSON HOUSEHOLD…
It’s been a couple of minutes since Mika expelled the old mark we are all looking at the new mark confused; I saw Kayla back away on the couch clearly scared. The silence broke when Mika cleared her throat in the large room.
“James,” Mika started as she looked worried, “Could you lift up your sleeve, to see if you have the same mark?”
I nodded but as I lifted up my jacket sleeve to show my bare arm, I noticed that it was gone. Mika eyes widened as well as mine.
“But, if you’re not the one who marked you.. Who did?”
I could sense that something was wrong. I tried to shake off that feeling as we were trying to figure out what was going on. In the corner of my eye I saw Kayla jump off the couch and screamed in pain as we all turned our heads towards her to see shaking while in front of a mirror while we all gathered around her.
“What the hell happened! Mika! I have another mark, I thought that you removed the one on James!” her brown eyes were in tears as she growled at the new mark on her soft skin. Mika’s greens eyes cast downward as she didn’t have an explanation as to what was going on.  I slowly approached her as she turned to the mirror in shame. I could feel her shallow breathing as I turned her around to comfort her as she leaned in my chest.
“Can I see the new mark?” I questioned, “James,” she looked at me with a sad smile as she took her right arm. It was almost the same as my mark like before, but it was a sliver crown that was circled around demon symbols of revenge.
I start to think about all of people that could have marked my flower. My mind was blank as I looked around the room to see my brothers and Mika considering who would do such a thing but to no avail. As I held Kayla in my arms I felt like something was burning. She pulls away from me as she grips her marked arm to see the mark glowing and letting off steam. Before I could calm her down we all looked towards the ground to see the familiar pentagram, under Kayla’s feet.
“James?” her voice was scared as she looked towards me. My eyes widen as I scream towards her as she is falling into the darkness.
“Don’t you worry, my flower! I will find you! I will always find you!” My frantic body spring into action as I tried to grab her. My strong hand found hers, but a strong force pulled her down further into the darkness. I wanted to jump inside to save her, but Mika pulled me back with her dainty hands on the back of my shirt. I face here with her green eyes full of worry.
“What the hell!” I start to rage as I can feel my golden markings slowly come onto my body as I was slipping away from the human form, “Why did you pull me back!” I roared.
I see her straighten her stance as she marches towards me. Everyone in the house remained silent as all of the attention in the room was on these two.
“James!” I hear her start as she is able to block out my demon magic, “If you went in that portal than you and Kayla would have been trapped in the darkness! I know you want to save her but at what cost will be enough for you Reastreo!”
As soon as I heard my true name I appeared right before her as all of my anger was gone. I was more relaxed as I remembered that Mika is not my enemy here. She wants to save Kayla just as much as I do. I felt my magic slowly disappear as she touches my arm where the previous mark was.
“See James,” she coos at me, “I am not your enemy here. We are going to bring Kayla back. I have a plan.” I perked up as soon as she said plan.
“Since you have marked her before you can still smell her energy even after I removed your mark. Despite everything that happens you are her soulmate James.” She walks up towards me as she touches my forearm where the mark was, “You were able to sense her in pain before she got the new mark and even now,” she slowly rubs her fingers to see some golden dust, “You knew that she was going to be harmed and yet you were going to risk your life for her.”
I smile down at her as I nodded to answer her statements. I look at my previous mark, knowing that I never meant to hurt Kayla like I did.
“What’s the plan Mika?” My voice becomes dangerous as I clutched my fists so tight my hands appeared to be white.

Sunday Evening Snuggles || Gabrileah
Tagging: @gabriellaxdias and @leahpuckermxn.
Location: Leah Puckerman’s Bedroom.
Date: 09/08/2020
Summary: Gabriella and Leah come home the Sunday after Jordyn and Anthony’s performance of The Last Five Years and sleep together without having sex for the first time.
Warnings: None.
LEAH PUCKERMAN
Leah made her way into the bedroom grasping Gabriella’s hand. This was the third night in a row that she stayed up late to see Anthony and Jordyn’s show, but being a bartender made her used to that kind of thing. She was ready to stay up until daylight if she had to. Cupping Gabriella’s face in her hands, she planted a soft kiss on her lips. “You know you’ve been such an angel this weekend.” She said, brushing her thumb against one of her cheeks, and resting the tip of her forehead against her’s. Seeing Gabriella help raise money for a youth art program really made her heart swell, as well as seeing her with Kayla. If she didn’t adore Gabriella before, she certainly did now. More than ever. “I think that warrants some kind of reward.” She teased.
GABRIELLA DIAS
Her body always fluttered with excitement whenever they pulled each other into one of their rooms. Still running on some excitement from seeing the show. Gabriella’s hands easily moved to her waist when their lips met, pulling her close. A soft smile spread on her lips once their foreheads rested together. “An angel?” Her eyes couldn’t help but flutter closed again. “What did I do?” Getting lost in her touch, it was hard not to, the more time they spent together the more she longed for it. She hummed happily as she moved one of her hands over Leah’s, her fingertips brushing over her knuckles. Gabriella hadn’t even realized how tired she was until she walked in the door but the desire to enjoy the time with Leah was stronger. Her eyes finally opened at what she said next, “You know I can’t say no to rewards from you, they are always the best.”
LEAH PUCKERMAN
Leah made a mental note of Gabriella’s eyes closing, but kept moved her hands down to her waist at her question. She let her fingers trace circles on her side as she answered the woman’s question. “Going around with that collection bucket.” She said, a genuine tone in her voice. “Helping my friend, the local theatre, all those kids...” She trailed, before moving one hand up to Gabriella’s hair, brushing a strand of it aside so she could examine her face. Hearing her words prompted her to guide her over to the bed and lay her down, before straddling her waist. Taking both of Gabriella’s hands into her’s, Leah pinned them above her head before moving her face down to kiss Gabriella again. Except their lips didn’t meet, Leah just couldn’t help but notice something was off. “Are you okay?” She asked. “We don’t have to have sex, you know.”
GABRIELLA DIAS
Hearing the genuine tone in her voice made her heart flutter. “I love to help. I want to do what I can. Give back to people, help give others the chance to make their dreams come true.” Leaning into her touch when her hand moved into her hair. Easily getting lost in her touch again. The smile on her face grew as Leah guided her to the bed. A sigh escaping her as she laid her down and straddled her. Wishing her hands could move to her waist but loving the feeling of the other holding her hands down. But at the same time she couldn’t ignore in the back of her mind how tired she was. She thought she was doing a good enough job of hiding it before Leah mentioned it. Gabriella wanted to enjoy every moment that she could with her and didn’t want to go home and have the evening end. “I’m okay.” She assured, giving her a small smile, “Just tired, a busy last few days. But I’m okay, I want you.” Gabriella added the last part softly, her eyes searching Leah’s, squeezing her hands softly.
LEAH PUCKERMAN
Hearing Gabriella’s motives only made her heart swell more. This woman was a dream. If Leah didn’t see her as too good to be true, someone who would just leave her eventually, maybe she’d want more than what they had. Way more. On the bed, Leah wanted to believe Gabriella’s words, but she refused to do anything with anyone who seemed so unenthusiastic. “We can just go to sleep, if you want.” She assured the woman. “You can borrow one of my sleep shirts.”
GABRIELLA DIAS
"Really?" Gabriella asked softly, the smile on her face growing. Hearing the we made her feel a lot better, of course she was sure Leah wouldn't just send her away but still. Sharing a bed together to sleep was a lot more different than spending the night after sex. "And borrow one of your shirts? I could be so lucky?" Just the thought of that made her feel those flutters again, it seemed like anything Leah did could trigger that feeling for her. "I could always just head home, I don't want to intrude." She added on finally just wanting to be sure.
LEAH PUCKERMAN
“Of course. You don’t owe me sex. What assholes have you been seeing?” She asked, crawling off the woman and going to her closet to get some sleep shirts. She had a habit of simply sleeping in an oversized band shirt and her underwear, so she’d have something that fit Gabriella just fine. Her sleep shirts would fit anyone. It didn’t even occur to her why her offer meant so much to Gabriella said what she said. “I’m not just going to kick you out, that’s rude. You’re not intruding at all.” Leah said, going up to Gabriella to hand her a shirt before placing a small kiss on her lips. “Besides, I like waking up next to you. I don’t see why we have to have sex to do that.”
GABRIELLA DIAS
When Leah moved off of her she sat up, already finding herself wishing they could be close again. “Not any in the last year or so.” She said softly, it is all still new to her. Seeing someone but not really ‘seeing’ someone. Finally she stood up from her spot and started to unzip the dress that she had on. That same blush appeared onto her cheeks, the one where she felt like she really threw out in the open how new she was to all of this. “Of course you wouldn’t do that, you are far from rude.” Her voice was soft but a smile was still on her face. Thanking her for the shirt, her small smile growing after their kiss. “The feeling is mutual, mornings are always amazing with you.” Gabriella said as she finally slipped off her dress, glad to replace the dress with Leah’s shirt. “And your shirts are even comfortable too.” She added on after a moment her eyes moving back to meet hers.
LEAH PUCKERMAN
Leah never really had someone come home with her and then opt out of sex without straight up wanting to just go home. This was completely new territory, but she liked it. Sure, she liked having sex too. If Gabriella’s libido was as high as Leah’s, she was pretty sure they’d be doing it at least five times a day. But she loved the softer moments she shared with the woman, too. Feeling Gabriella smile against her lips only made her smile too, before she finally pulled away to get changed herself. “I’m glad, I want you to be comfortable.” Leah said, pulling her own shirt over her head and heading over to the bed. Crawling under the sheets, she sprawled her arm out over to Gabriella’s side, hoping she’d at least want to cuddle.
GABRIELLA DIAS
It was hard to ignore the flutters of adoration and excitement she felt. It felt amazing to long for her touch in more ways than one, she wanted all of it. Once she set her dress down she moved back into bed with her and under the sheets. Gladly moving into her arms, reaching one of her own over to wrap around her. Not even thinking of it when her fingers started to brush along the material of her shirt. Even if this was a new moment for them in just felt right. She felt the same warmth she felt when they held hands. "Well I certainly am, comfortable even feels like an understatement." Her head resting on the pillow next to her, wanting to much to tug her closer. "I might not want to get out of bed after this." She teased, the smile on her face growing.
LEAH PUCKERMAN
Leah let out a happy hum as Gabriella moved into her arms, and wrapped them around her. She was even more contented by the feeling of Gabriella’s arms around her. At her words, she pulled the woman closer and lightly kissed her forehead. “This is cozy.” She happily remarked, not sure if she wanted to close her eyes and try and sleep or keep staring at the woman’s face. “Wouldn’t it be nice if we could stay like this forever?”
GABRIELLA DIAS
Gabriella wasn’t sure if it was possible to be even more comfortable but the moment Leah pulled her closer and kissed her forehead a new kind of warmth washed over her. While she was tired she knew she wanted to take time to enjoy this. “That would be the dream wouldn’t it?” She asked softly, a smile still on her face. “Work doesn’t need us right? This is far more important.” Gabriella joked while she let one of her legs tangle with Leah’s, wanting to get as close as she could. Their faces inches apart, she leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to her lips, brushing her nose against hers as she parted.
LEAH PUCKERMAN
“I’ll call in and quit tomorrow.” Leah said, joining in with the joke. “Money is a social construct, anyway.” But this... this felt natural. Right. God she truly wished they could lay like this for eternity. She bummed against Gabriella’s lips as she kissed her, and let out a happy sigh as her nose brushed against her’s. Leah moved her hand up to Gabriella’s face and she started to brush her thumb against her temple. “Why don’t you get your beauty sleep?” She whispered. “You’ll need it with how hard you’ll be working that cute ass this week.”
GABRIELLA DIAS
Gabriella chuckled softly, "We'll just stay in this nice bubble of ours." The moment her thumb brushed along her temple her eyes fluttered closed, letting out a content sigh. Trying to snuggle even closer to her, "But I'm enjoying this too much." She mumbled, not realizing how much more affectionate she was when she was tired. Her hand starting to slowly move up and down Leah's side. A smile grew on her face as her eyes finally opened. "Oh really? You think so?" One of her eyebrows rose, feeling a shade of pink growing on her cheeks.
LEAH PUCKERMAN
Leah truly found herself wishing the rest of the world could melt away when she was around Gabriella. That she could live in this reality where she didn’t have bills to pay, a father that she knew would only ever contact her to beg for money in a society that constantly worked against her. Because this little bubble, this little world, was perfect. Imagine how wonderful it would be if everything else just slipped away. “So am I, I just don’t want to see you tired at the theater tomorrow because I kept you up.” She explained, letting out a content sigh at the feeling of Gabriella’s hands on her sides. “You are the cutest cash collector out there, and that theater will be so grateful for your help.” She said, pressing a soft kiss on her lips before resting her forehead against Gabriella’s. “You know that theater used to let my school’s orchestra do shows there for free, right?” She said, happily reminiscing about how much fun she used to have backstage. “I ought to show you my cello sometime, it’s still in my mom’s attic.”
GABRIELLA DIAS
"It'll be okay, it isn't the first time we were tired from keeping each up." She teased, she couldn't help it. It felt so nice and natural to slip in those flirty comments. "Well that cute cash collector is so glad that she's catching your attention." Melting into the kiss, even following her lips once they parted. But Gabriella easily got lost in her eyes once her forehead rested against hers. It felt so nice to just relax in her arms, let any other worries or thoughts float away. All that mattered was the wonderful woman in front of her. "I really am glad to help. It is the least I can do." It was true, she was even trying to find more ways she could help the arts in Cape Cod. "Really? That is amazing." She said gently, honestly glad to learn even more about her and her past. "Please do, I would love that. Think you could even try playing it for me? I am always impressed by your musical talents."
LEAH PUCKERMAN
Leah let out a soft laugh at Gabriella’s comment. “That’s true, though I bet Anthony will be happy to get some sleep tonight.” She teased, the tone in her voice considerably quiet and soft. She knew that Anthony was only going to push the ‘date her’ vendetta in the morning, but she didn’t care. This moment was too perfect to worry about anything. Leah let herself get lost in Gabriella’s eyes once she pulled her lips away and they joined foreheads instead. Dark, beautiful, and just for this moment, they were infinity. “Yeah, my school didn’t really have the best performance spaces.” She remarked. “I could try but I’m probably a bit rusty.” She said with a small laugh.
GABRIELLA DIAS
Gabriella laughed with her, “Seems like everyone had a win of their own tonight. But we are obviously the luckiest.” When they parted she was so tempted to just lean in again. Just adoring the soft and sleepy kisses, the simple affections made goosebumps spread down her arms and her heart flutter. Hearing her small laugh instantly made her smile grow. “How wonderful that other theatres did their best to help the schools. Id imagine how exciting it was to perform there.” Leaning in just a little more so her nose could brush against hers. Her affectionate side really starting to shine, a side she didn’t even realize came out when she was tired. “Oh hush rusty or not I know you will impress me. You never fail to.” Gabriella complimented.
LEAH PUCKERMAN
“Clearly.” Leah said, as she started to circle finger around the small of Gabriella’s back. Leah was never the type to enjoy this kind of intimacy, but she enjoyed it with Gabriella from the moment they finished having sex for the first time. She just loved being close to her, in every which way. “Yeah, it was really great of them.” She said. “But I wasn’t that into the school orchestra, to be honest. I had to do it or I’d be kicked out of the school’s music program.” A small chortle escaped from her voice. “I mean, can you imagine me in an orchestra?”
GABRIELLA DIAS
Gabriella's eyes fluttered at the feeling of her touch, a content sigh escaping her. She swore every night they spent together she found a new spot that either instantly relaxed her or drove her crazy in the best way. But her eyes still wanted to meet hers, she loved any chance to get to learn more about her. "Really?" She asked softly, her eyes wandering over her features, "But what a good learning experience. Or at least I'd imagine it would be...surrounded by all that music and peoples interest in music. I bet you met some great people.." Once she noticed her rambling she blushed and listened to her again. "I mean you could rock anything, that is very clear. So orchestra? I know I'd come and see every show."
LEAH PUCKERMAN
“Oh yeah, anyone who’s into music should learn about classical music first.” Leah said, lightly moving her feet over Gabriella’s. God, she really could stay like this forever. “It’s boring as hell, but so many songs are based off classical music. I’ve based songs off orchestra pieces I did, so in a way I’m glad I had to do it.” She explained, pulling Gabriella’s hips closer to her’s. Just talking to her felt nice, she didn’t even need to be touching her like this. It was icing. “You really think so?” She said with small chuckle. “I did look good in a ball gown and an instrument bigger than me, I’ll admit to that.” She teased. “I’m sure the kids I went to high school with would have gone nuts if you were in the audience every time.”
GABRIELLA DIAS
"I agree." Gabriella hummed, her smile growing once Leah got closer to her. Their bodies almost tangling together, if they could be frozen in this moment she'd be content. "You have?" She asked, "That is just amazing, a lot of the songs have a great base and can spark a lot of ideas." When she pulled her hips closer she hummed again, easily moving into her touch. Gabriella nodded at her question nearly getting lost in how amazing it felt to have her body pressed up to Leah's. Almost tempted to hook one of her legs around her. "Good is an understatement and you know it." She teased right back. "I think they would have been far more distracted by the talented musician. I know I would be."
LEAH PUCKERMAN
“A lot of my favourite songs are actually based on Canon in D.” She said, really getting into the conversation at this point, but keeping her tone soft. “Basket Case, Let it Be, Welcome to the Black Parade, Don’t Look Back In Anger, Cryin’, Sk8er Boi.” She let out a small chortle at the last one, a small hint of embarrassment for even bringing it up. Leah loved this feeling of being so tangled up in Gabriella. She found herself practically craving any ounce of intimacy that they could have. “An understatement, huh?” She teased, taking that as an opportunity to steal yet another light kiss. “Maybe that’s why a lot of the kids didn’t like me. Because I stole all the attention away from them.”
GABRIELLA DIAS
"Really?" She asked, loving any chance to learn more about Leah. Especially when it came to things she really cared about. "That is amazing though. There is something so fascinating how music can all find a way to connect together." It felt like they could almost talk about anything and everything together. "Mhm," Gabriella hummed softly, melting into the kiss. One of her hands moving up to caress her cheek. "That's exactly it, they couldn't handle the combination of looks and talent." She complimented before leaning in for another kiss. Even if she was tired she couldn't get enough of her.
LEAH PUCKERMAN
“I love it and hate it.” Leah confessed, a soft smile on her face. “The piece itself is beautiful, there’s no denying that. It’s no wonder it sparks such inspiration in music writers.” She began to explain. “But I listen to these songs I like and just get like... war flashbacks.” She continued. “It was so hard to play the cello part of it.” She let out a content sigh against Gabriella’s lips as she felt the woman’s hand on her cheek. Something about it just felt fuzzy. “I knew it.” She teased, before letting out a hum as the other woman’s lips pressed against her lips against hers. Leah wished she could somehow pull her closer once she pulled away, but instead settled to shift her legs over Gabriella’s, enjoying the feeling of being this entangled with her.
GABRIELLA DIAS
Gabriella laughed softly, "At least you enjoyed them in the moment right?" Her eyes wandering down to her smile. "But you tried it...that's amazing. You took something challenging and tried it. That's amazing to me." Gabriella explained softly, she never failed to be impressed by her. With every thing she learned about her she was impressed if not by her talent then her strength. "You're amazing." She whispered once they parted, her eyes taking a moment before they fluttered open. Taking a moment to just enjoy even more contact with her. Her thumb brushing along her cheek, "Is it possible to be too comfortable to want to sleep?" She asked shyly, it was too easy to get lost in her. It felt like if she fell asleep she could miss another moment with her or miss a chance of learning something new about her.

“Oh, I nailed it.” Leah said, proudly. “It was just very hard to learn.” She explained, still taking the time to press a small kiss on Gabriella’s forehead anyway. It just felt like a reflex for Leah at this point; Gabriella was adorable and Leah showed affection. “So are you.” Leah muttered in response to the woman, taking a moment to brush her nose against her’s, before reconnecting their foreheads. Leah closed her eyes briefly to enjoy the feeling of Gabriella’s touch, before hearing her words. Leah opened her eyes again and let her hands continue to softly work her back. “I think so.” Leah said, with a smile. Gabriella just described exactly how she was feeling in that moment, but she really didn’t want to keep the other woman up if she was feeling so tired. Maybe there was a way she could lull her to sleep. Leah moved her hands up the other woman’s back, one rested on her upper back and the other began to massage the back of her neck. “Close your eyes, though.” She whispered.

"But you did it...a woman of so many amazing talents." Gabriella easily complimented. She couldn't help but blush, not only at her words but how her nose brushed against hers. It was a relief to know that it could be possible. Her tired and affectionate comments were welcomed, it was such a relief. Everyday she was given more and more reasons to put her trust in the other woman. The more her hands moved along her back the more relaxed she felt, it was so easy to get lost in the feeling. Gabriella hummed contently as her hands moved up her back. It certainly made it easy for her eyes to flutter closed. "Mhm okay...they're closed." She mumbled, a small smile still resting on her lips. Her arms still wrapped around her, holding on like she had no intention on letting go. In more ways than one.

Giving Gabriella a soft smile as her eyes shut, Leah let one hand move from her back so she could reach out to her bedroom drawer and pull out some lavender perfume her grandmother got her. Leah never really saw any use for it until this moment. She shuffled a little to spray some onto both sides of her neck, while her other hand continued to work the back of Gabriella’s. Once she was done, she simply placed the bottle back down and turned her attention back to Gabriella. Moving her now free hand to the back of her head, she pulled other woman closer so her forehead was resting on the crook of her neck. “Try and sleep.” She said, kissing her forehead lightly. “I don’t want to keep you up if you’re tired.” She continued massaging the back of her neck, hoping to find that pressure point that she knew helped her sleep, personally. She figured a combination of the neck rubbing and the smell of perfume might help the other woman drift off. Plus it was a good excuse to hold her closer.

While it was tempting to take a peak at what she was doing she stayed cuddled up to her, her fingertips still brushing along her side. Focusing on the feeling of her skin and how wonderful her hand felt on her back and neck. When she smelt the lavender though a smile grew on her face. She hadn't mentioned it before but it happened to be on of her favorite scents. No matter what it could always relax her. Gabriella mumbled happily once Leah moved her closer to her, it almost felt like they fit together perfectly. She couldn't remember the last time or if she ever felt this safe, comfortable and relaxed. The fact that Leah was trying everything she could to get her to rest made her heart swell. Her mind was fluttering with the feelings and exhaustion, not sure if she was drifting off or awake. "You're so....comfortable." She whispered before yawning and hugging her closer if that was even possible. "And so...wonderful..." Her body slowly but surely relaxing, her fingers that were once moving along the other woman's side slowly came to a stop.

Leah pressed a soft kiss as soon as she had Gabriella pulled up against her, and went on to shut her own eyes. She found the scent of Gabriella’s hair oddly comforting, and couldn’t quite put her finger on why that was the case. Maybe it was just because it was Gabriella’s scent? Leah continued to work the back of her neck as she spoke, letting out a soft smile at her words. “I’d hope so, you need your rest.” Leah teased, fluttering her eyes open briefly to kiss the top of her head again. “Wonderful?” She whispered, the smile on her face growing at those words. She closed her eyes yet again, and a sense of pride washed her as she felt the woman relax in her arms. The fact that she could be that source of comfort for her brought her a feeling of joy that she simply couldn’t explain. Leah let the arm that wasn’t working Gabriella’s neck back around her waist, so she could keep her close as she tried to sleep herself. “Are you asleep?” She whispered lightly.

Every kiss to her head made a happy hum escape her, Gabriella enjoyed affection before but it felt so much more special to get it from Leah. It was like she could feel the care that went into every kiss and brush of her fingers. She couldn't remember the last time she was able to drift to sleep so easily before she met Leah. "Mhm." Was all she could mumble out as she drifted in and out of sleep. Hugging Leah closer one more time before she finally felt herself fall asleep, only seconds before her question. In the back of her mind she already felt herself longing for the next time she could cuddle up in her arms like this. If she could do this every night, happy would be an understatement. Only hoping that the other woman would feel as happy and content as she did.

The smile only grew at her mumbled response. If there was any doubt that Leah absolutely adored this woman, this moment washed it all away. Letting out a soft hum at Gabriella’s grip, she soon felt the entire world slip away around them. Leah stopped rubbing the woman’s neck when she didn’t get a response to her question, but she didn’t even think about moving her arms. In fact, she kept a tighter grip of her waist as she started focusing on falling asleep herself. She never felt so content because of another person before, but Gabriella was special. There as no doubting that, now.
