Hi,

I see you finished Monster and are quite versed in Johan. Can you help me understand the depth of his character better? I feel like many people miss the point of it. Also I'd like to know why you like him so much.

Oh, there is so much to say about him but i will try to make it short as possible.

Lets Talk About Johan;

First of all, i heard his character as some 'evil' mastermind so i wasnt really interested in his character until i experience the story by myself. I wondered why this series is popular so i decided to give a chance. I tought Johan was like Afo (from Bnha) but he turn out to be a lot like Shigaraki lol.

What makes a character depth is if they are not one-dimensional, that there is a more than how they seem from surface. And Johan fits well since he is mysterious character who is seen as angel, monster, devil, basically anything but human but they end up failing to understand him because if he was so simple, police would've catch him a long time ago.

At the start of series, he seems like your usual dangerous serial killer which fits the psychological thriller theme of story. And one of the best thing in series is his connection with Tenma. A doctor saves his life and this dangerous killer starts to view him as parent figure. A killer who see no worth in life and the doctor who thinks every life is equal, especially saving Johan is the reason he starts to to be able to live his life as a real doctor. Only to learn the child whom he saved turn out to be serial killer.

Tenma feels responsible for this and goes to journey to kill Johan. During this journey, we aldo discover some hints of what made Johan the way he is. The irony is we get the hints and a lot of characters perspective of him, everyone except Johan.

Is his messages about 'the monster inside of him' serious or not? Tenma assumes Johan is enjoying this at first, then he assumes Johan has multiple personality disorder. And later when he talked with other doctor, he assumes Johan is just playing with him because thats what most serial killers do with police. This is interesting because all of those end up being wrong. Johan doesnt enjoy from killing people. Johan doesnt have DID. Johan didnt write those messages to play with them. We know this because we later learn that he is unconciously imitate the fairytale stories he read as child.

Meanwhile, he has fanclub. A lot of murderers admire Johan because they view him as destruction Buddha. Just like others, he is seen as monster but why though? Its not like he is the only killer in the world. And personally, a lot of characters are more 'evil' than him so the thing about Johan is; he treats human life as nothing. Not just other people but also himself. Thats what makes him so scary to everyone. He doesnt even do it out of joy, money, statue. He looks like the devil in human form. He spreads misery to world. (Thats why he burns library when they said "its humanity's treasure" LoL.)

To people, that is scary. When they look at Johan, his eyes, the see someone who has no identity (nameless world). They see someone who treats life like as a game. Which explains why many people are afraid of him.

Some also want to use him, such as they want him to make second Hitler and he is like 'Nope'.

I think the main reason i love Johan is that he is like a magician. He can create a beautifull illusion. He is someone who can touch people's hearths because how well he understands them. Which is why he is seen as angel when people dont know he kills people.

This is also why he can use other killers for himself. He can see their vulnerabilities. Because even a killer is still human and they might need acceptance, to be understood by someone. Johan can give it to them. And they wish they were like Johan because they think everything would be a lot easier for them to kill others, like some kind of edgy teens. They fail to understand the person they want to be is extremely miserable.

On other hand, Johan can use his skills with curing people. Such as him waking Suk's mother, he made her remember her son again. Though he does things with ulterior motives, same skills can be used for good things. He can make people happy or miserable by little things. With a little magic or just skill.

And even though he is villain, he has very relaxing voice. He is very elegant. He listens other people. This fits perfectly well with his manipulative character.

We also never know when he is sincere or not because when you think he doesnt he actually seem to care, such as when he cried for Karl. Apperantly, tears were real. He is always in his world, its so funny when you think about he is some kind of mastermind.

Also his interaction with kids is so interesting. I think he geniuely enjoys being around them. Otherwise, why would he bother to spend time with them, why would he know so much about child's rights, why would he look for picture book for a friend? This is the same guy who encourage kids to rooftop game (and the scene where he was projecting on Milos) which is messed up. It gives me chills. His nihisilism, him viewing life as game end up resulting him expressing love as twisted.

Later, everything changes when Johan finds certain book in library. Basically, Johan's character doesnt necessarely stay same during the series. He changes his motives from unconciously imitating nameless monster stories to find actual monster who ruined his life. Even though he does messed up things, everything about his character makes sense with that scene. Johan geniuely believed that he is nameless monster. Johan geniuely believed that he doesnt exist.

Everything about him makes sense because it explains why he doesnt think death as much of it. Because if someone doesnt exist, they cant be killed. If someone doesnt exist, they cant be responsible for killings. He is detached from reality. Its not that he didnt feel. Its that he doesnt view it as real the way other people does. Because Johan isnt there. This is the tragedy of Johan's story. He doesnt have name. He doesnt have identity. He feels as he doesnt exist.

The famous 'monster' tape everyone after is about a child unable to see the difference between fairytale story and reality. 'My name is Johan. My name is Thomas. My name is Hans. My name is Otto.' He is them but he is neither of them. Johan views Anna as his half, as Anna is the real one and he is fake copy. He killed people as child, not because he is evil but because he geniuely thought that monster is coming after them. He cant even separate his own memories from Anna's. He takes all bad memories both to protect Anna and other reason is to become someone. He wanted to have identity, he wanted to live so bad but he didnt have on his own so he took it from others, just like the nameless monster.

This is also why Johan is also affected by Tenma's saving him. He probably wondered Tenma wouldnt save him, if he knew he was monster. He was kinda right because Tenma regretted his decision but he was wrong because Tenma couldnt shoot him and he saved him the second time. He showed him that he has right to live, he has right to exist, and that he has a name so he is not monster. This is why Johan can open up his worst insecurities. And they really give father-son energy and i think thats cute. I am glad that even after years Tenma visists him at hospital.

And we can guess what happened at the end thanks to Grimmer (one of the characters who deserves better), 'The monster become human at the end'. and Lunge said that if he were not a human being, he would not leave a trace, only humans leave a trace. For the first time we see Johan leave his mark. So Johan is no longer a monster, just a human. Also, his real name doesnt matter, he is Johan to us/all.

I love the messages of story. There is a monster inside all of us, but we can contain/heal it and after all, we are all human, our lives are equally valuable and stealing a person's name is the biggest crime, so having a name is very important. Story still has certain writing issues but generally, it is good story. Johan is well written character because his story is such a journey. We cant even really appreaciate the story without fully understand Johan. Every scene he is in meaningfull. And personally, i think his story is very empathic because of how tragic he is. Also sometimes he looks so funny and weird which makes him entertaining. He is such a good character.

Though you are right, anon. Many people still misinterpret the story, especially his character but anyway, there are still people who makes great analysis about him. Such as this analysis made by @cyanogoth.

Its ironic that most/some main villains have the most interesting and sempathic backstories, even though they are supposed to be 'big evil' or something but in reality, they are not really.

Anyway, he is fun to think about, i love him, lol.

Will and Alyss are trans here’s my essay

We talk a lot about how funny it is that Flanagan unintentionally wrote the gayest love story between Halt and Crowley in TEY, but holy shit we don’t talk enough about how he also managed to accidentally write the two most trans characters ever.

Alyss and Will being trans is a semi-popular headcanon that’s been in the fandom for ages now, but I haven’t seen many people really dive into why this headcanon is so prevalent. I think that partially has to do with the fact that, like any lgbtq+ identity, it’s pretty difficult to clock someone as trans without relying on trans stereotypes. Really, any character in the RA series could be trans if you chose to believe it since being trans doesn’t look any certain way. That being said, I do think there are some pretty clear qualities and experiences that Will and Alyss have that feel very close to my own experience with being transgender.

Physical appearance is usually the first thing people point out/notice when talking about this headcanon. Will is short, more so than one might expect from a cis man. Alyss is taller than most men and also has a deep voice. I have mixed feelings about people pointing to this as the only reason they think they’re trans. I mean, it makes enough sense for it to be the only reason since one part of being trans is the fact that one’s body doesn’t match their gender identity. What I don’t like about that being the only reason is that there’s so much more to the trans identity and experience than “body don’t match :(“

But that’s the cool thing about Will and Alyss, their physical appearance effects their perception of themselves the same way it does for a trans person (or a cis person really, but it feels much more prevalent in trans people). In the first book, Will is clearly uncomfortable with his height; almost any time it’s brought up, he replies with “I haven’t had my growth spurt yet”, almost defensively. Then, as Will becomes more comfortable with who he is, you can see it bother him less and less. I love this bc it’s exactly what happened with my dysphoria as I transitioned. The more I got to know myself and discover myself, the less my dysphoria bothered me.

As for Alyss, she is so clearly so confident with her appearance. She never tries to hide her height or voice. Although we don’t get to see her journey with those qualities, the way she’s so confident feels like something the earned. It’s something she maybe used to feel insecure about, then decided she gets to decide what femininity means to her. Her height and voice contribute to her elegance and femininity rather than contradict them.

Another thing about Will is his name and how it relates to his identity. I know Flanagan didn’t intend for any of this to be some trans allegory, but goddamn can I relate my trans experience to it. Will grew up without a last name, and you can see how deeply that effects him. It wasn’t just that he was “Will no-name”, he was missing a part of his identity. Hell, he said verbatim “at least you know who you are” to a fucking owl because he felt so confused and unheard (which btw is the most edgy teen thing he ever did).

Though you can see this missing part of his identity bother him less as he gained a support system, it’s still clear that he felt like something was missing. If he didn’t feel like something was missing, he wouldn’t have been so incredibly happy when he became “Will Treaty”. And when he got his last name, you can tell he’s proud, not because he finally has an identity, but because he finally has a name to match the identity he’s spent so long discovering and cultivating. He no longer expresses any sadness or grief that he doesn’t have his father’s last name, because he doesn’t need it to know who he is. He’s Will Treaty, and he’s perfectly happy with being exactly that. This is the most trans-coded naming experience holy shit.

Anyway that’s all I have to say about this (for now at least). Go give your local trans friend a kiss.

Platonic Simon ”Ghost” Riley x reader - headcanons

Some general headcanons for Ghost, as well as Ghost x reader headcanons. This is all platonic stuff! I guess you can see it as normal friends or family things or just things that couples do that isn’t romantic or sexual. READER IS GENDER NEUTRAL!

there seems to be a big amount of smut fics, a bit overwhelming so I decided to just write some platonic stuff for anyone who needs or wants just platonic content!

note: I personally see Ghost as autistic and at least neurodivergent, so expect some headcanons related to that as well! (I am autistic myself)

also these might be in a weird order, sorry!

General headcanons for Ghost

He enjoys his personal time and whatever free time he gets by doing quiet and calming activities, usually on his own!

Simon finds a sense of peace in taking walks in nature, reading a book or playing a card game with himself, it’s very simple and not unique things, but it’s oddly calming.

However he needs to do something constantly, as it keeps his mind occupied. I feel like him being left alone with his thoughts could have him spiral a bit.

Him being autistic he probably masks a lot. Specially when he needs to lead and give commands, or in stressful situations.

He likes listening rather than talking! He’s always off to the side, avoiding the main group and conversation. As much as he likes attention he also tries to avoid it a lot. It’s a weird mix of both loving and hating attention. When in stressful situations or during a mission he only speaks when he has to or when he needs information. (He’s also very cautious)

I think if someone isn’t clear with what they mean, avoid, sugarcoat, anything but be direct. He would most likely get annoyed. He is extremely straighfoward and direct, and wants clear instructions and information. No side tracking, get to the point. I believe not being direct with him will cause him to feel uncertainty, not only is it important due to the military setting, but uncertainty would bring up some hidden anxiety in him.

He has a easier time talking to people he is comfortable with and trust! and of course, makes jokes.

I think he stims a lot more when no one can see him or in private. When in full view he masks and refrains from it, maybe tapping his fingers lightly or doing something subtle if he still has to stim.

Ghost most likely goes into shutdowns rather than meltdowns when everything gets overwhelming. He retreats and needs privacy, you won’t likely see him anywhere. Will not respond.

He can probably eat most things but has a few safe foods, and no not because he’s british but I do believe tea is one of them. I can see him liking some simple cookies/biscuits, likes the texture of it and it being very simple and consistent!

he has different special interests! he might not even be aware they are just that (defientely a thing for knives)

Headcanons of platonic Ghost and reader

Only way I see that reader can meet Simon is being in the military field themselves. I don’t think he stays in one place, moves around a lot when he isn’t on call/duty, this would make it hard to meet someone and remain in contact with if you’re a civilian.

It would take a bit for him to grow trust in you! not weeks, not months probably years. When I mean trust I mean the big and deep trust where he would express himself more and tell you things, not the ”I trust my teammate to be able to shoot someone who’s attacking me, because that’s their job”

Unless you can prove to him that he can trust you in a extreme way. Take this for as a gain trust quickly example, Soap, Alejandro etc not siding with Graves and defending each other including Ghost is a big step in building trust.

Once he grows more comfortable with you as well as trust he would probably crack some jokes with you and the rest of the team, however not too often especially during missions unless he needs to (Alone mission) He’ll be most likely hyperfocused on the mission alone.

Those jokes will range from dad jokes to very edgy just for shock value jokes.

If there is freetime or the team casually hangs out he’d be a bit more ”relaxed”(as relaxed as Ghost can be)

Someone will have to convince him to join for a card game you and the team are playing. He’d be very quiet and be thinking a lot in what his move would be and try to figure out what you and the others will do and so on. If it’s just you and him playing a card game, there won’t be much talk! at least from him, expect a strategic game.

He’s an awful loser as well as winner, his ego will get hurt if he loses, get all moody and sour. If he wins he would brag. He would most likely bring up you loosing in the game in the future as a counter argument or just to annoy you.

He takes things literally a lot of the time, if he asks you if you want anything and you say no to be polite, he will not get that thing for you. He cannot read your mind and probably won’t ask you ”are you sure?”

the only thing he would willfully make for you is tea, if you don’t like tea he’ll take the tea himself.

He’s not someone that would really make or give things to people, even friends. There is a certain independence he expects of you and others, being able to make, get and do things for yourself. He of course will help you in survival situations, have your back in combat and if you get injured bring you to safety and try to patch you up if no medic is available.

with time of knowing you, if he stumbles upon something he knows you like, anything really, from a movie, book, plant, supplies for whatever hobby you like! He might get it for you.

Ghost gives you (thing you like)

You: ??? ”Where did you find this?”

Ghost: ”In the trashpile over there.”

You: ”thanks?”

he does a slight nod and goes off to do whatever Ghost does, kill people

If he’s your superior expect more scolding from him if you do something irresponsible.

Whenever he gets comfortable with you, if a conversation leads to it or if you ask. He would 100% wanna talk about his special interests, I think knife collecting is one. He would know a lot about knives, models, history about them, and how to use them effectively and in different ways! He’d unintentionally infodump which might take you by surprised if you’re neurotypical or just not used to it from him!

Infodumping brings him joy even if he’d be afraid to admit, and if he becomes friends with you he’d love infodumping! He’d get into a lot of details so expect being there and listening to him for a while. He’ll tell you all about it when it comes to his special interests. If there is a book he likes, he’d tell you all about it.

Him joking or infodumping is the rare times you’ll hear him talk a lot more than usual.

Don’t peer pressure him into eating or drinking especially in public! Ignoring the mask wearing, he does not enjoy doing this in public. He prefers eating and drinking alone! but he’ll come back to you and the group after!

If you compliment him he won’t respond, he does not do well with positive feedback. (He also has a big ego and knows he’s good at something) (he does not thank Rudolfo after he compliments Ghost’s knife throwing) Despite not responding to your compliment or positive feedback, know that it does mean a lot to him!

Expect nonverbal communication or lack of communication, don’t take it personally. You’ll need to learn how he communicates, as he’ll most likely have already figured out how you communicate. Silence from him isn’t usually a sign of a hidden meaning or agenda, it’s genuine. (Sometimes he could intentionally go silent tho with a agenda)

I mentioned he has also a very direct way of communicating, he’ll be pretty blunt with you and the team. Talking when he needs to and only if he asks something. There won’t be much small talk.

Don’t take it personally if he seems rude he’s mostly likely actually not being intentionally rude. He is either silent or quick and direct because there isn’t much he can or wants to talk about. It’s hard for him to see a reason to talk to you about things that arent related to the mission, infodumping or just making silly jokes.

Him infodumping isn’t onesided by the way, he’s a listener too, you’ll probably sit there for an hour listening to him, but when he is done he would really enjoy listening to you infodump or just talk about your interests! (unless you’re on a mission or he has something to do, but he wouldn’t himself infodump in the first place if this was the case!)

Being able to just exist quietly in a comfortable silence together is something he enjoys with you and the team. It takes a certain level of being comfortable with someone.

If you, yourself are autistic or neurodivergent, I think you and him would have an easier time communicating, he would be able to understand you better and you him. This isnt saying you being neurotypical wouldn’t give the same result!

If you’re autistic too I could imagine you both be infodumping for hours, someone would need to interrupt you two otherwise you’d stop and find out 5 years has passed even tho it felt like 5 minutes

if you like to play videogames he wouldnt mind trying it out (he might even play videogames himself he just wont admit it) He’d be a very tryhard player tho so you two might get a bit competitive, or he might not even take it seriously. Who knows!

Don’t be afraid to joke with him! he enjoys jokes, sharing jokes would be some quality time spending with each other!

He won’t really ask about your personal life or past, I don’t think it would ever cross his mind, you would need to be the one who brings it up first. He would never ever try to disrespect your boundaries when it comes to your personal life, he wouldn’t ask about it unless you bring it up first, and if you don’t wanna talk about something regarding it he won’t push or stick his nose in, in anyway. He’s very respectful when it comes to other people’s past or personal life!

He wouldn’t mind helping you with training! He’d give you advice and tips! He’d give a ”good job!” or so when you finish or succeed with something! If you don’t train, he’d still give positive feedback for other things! They would be very short and quick feedback but he means well!

Despite his cold demeanour, he cares about his friends and team! Just remember that! He just shows it in his own ways. He might not comfort you when you’re sad or feeling bad in a way that is expected or what you expect.

If you’re sad he’d try to give you advice if that’s not right thing to do in the moment he would just kinda either leave you be to give you privacy, as he prefers privacy when if he were to get emotional, or he would just sit in the same space as you, hoping him showing you by just being there that you’re not alone.

At most he’d give you some awkward patting on the back, unless you made it clear you don’t want any physical touch! He’s super respectful of peoples boundaries when it comes to that.

If you’re autistic and have a meltdown he would react a bit more different! this also includes panic/anxiety attacks. He’d give you room and remove any thing that might be the cause of it/stress. He would not raise his voice in anyway, he’s likely be silent, talk calmly at most.

If you’ve stated what you need during a meltdown before, he will 100% remember that and do the things you’ve requested. He will not push you or put any pressure or expectations on you!

If this happens during combat or in a dangerous area, he would take the lead! he would make sure you’re safe and he will take watch and make sure the area is safe. He would never let his friend or team mate get injured or worse, specially during a meltdown so he’d do anything he can to help.

If you get exhausted after a meltdown, and even to a point of not being able to do anything. He’d help you out as much as he can, he’d would even give you a piggyback ride to any safe space if needed.

hopefully there isn’t too many typos, and nothing is too ooc, this is just how see Ghost mainly!

He may act all scary, cold and silent, but he tbh has a silly side to him, and clearly cares for his teammates. Trauma does affect people, by a lot, changes things and causes lots of damage. But it’s not the only thing to the character so it’s nice adding some stuff I think he would do and like!

coming to your inbox because i like your vibe and have literally no other safe place to rant abt this. sorry if this bugs you delete this if you want but im debating leaving the radqueer community because of ciel/hbki. ive already been wanting to leave for a while, but the thought of leaving has been triggering my ocd and ive not been sure what to do. but after i saw that guy running around and seeing how obviously horrible he is, and how people still somehow like him, i think im going to go through and just delete my blog or ditch it ive seen him talk about abusing his girlfriend on so many different blogs of his and then i go to look at hers and she is so obviously trauma bonded to him, and its so triggering. it makes me sick how shes admitted to not enjoying how he treats her, but says his treatment is okay because its "consensual" but i really dont believe its consensual. and i know its not my business but i literally cant avoid them in this community. ive blocked them so many times but every time they both get termed, i see them again, and get triggered. ive thought about reaching out to opphie, but every time someone does, ciel is alerted and he starts harassing the person reaching out. maybe i just have a savior complex but seeing the way they are together makes me feel sick. i see myself in her and i feel guilty for not being able to help. one of my friends even watched her change her name on a dime in her discord server just because ciel suggested it. its scary that the community just lets ciel get away with everything. i mean didnt he even admit to *graping* her? and people are okay with it because the victim swears up and down that its consensual? it doesnt make it any better that antis treat him like hes just some edgy kid. yeah its true that he is one, but there are also very very VERY clear signs that he is actually a harmful person and that he is actually hurting someone. opphie even posted a list of a bunch of horrible things hes done, and it looked like a cry for help to me, but radqueers were reblogging saying things like "couple goals" and "this is so romantic" i dont know anymore what to do. i know i have to leave that community but i wish there was a way to make other radqueers realize that ciel is not a good person to have in the community. if they want to beat the pro-abuse allegations, they NEED to point out actual abusers like ciel.

nope! it's totally fine to dislike lynz, i also don't like her myself. she's said some very questionable things and MSI grosses me out, as does her association with jimmy urine. i already know people will want to take this the wrong way so i want to make it clear that i'm not defending any of that. i'm pointing out an irritating mindless pattern of behaviour in this fandom that is immature and reductive at best and misogynistic at worst, which includes:

1. the intensity of the vitriol that is directed at her being disproportionate to most of the men ppl blog about who have done/said similar, if not much worse, things. and honestly in a lot of cases disproportionate to what she's actually done

2. the fact that i see so many people (especially on twitter) blindly jumping on the bandwagon of hating on her often without knowing what exactly it is they're hating her for - and even then, most of the reasons i see parrotted on twitter are either contextless and overexaggerated or not even one of the aforementioned valid reasons for disliking her. i don't know how to tell you this but if you believe everything on lynzuglyliar you need to reevaluate how you engage with information on the internet lol

3. the level of glee with which people hate on her, which truly smacks of old-school fandom misogyny reserved for women who marry your faves or get in the way of your favourite ship. on twitter especially it honestly truly feels like people are delighted to have a wife of the band they're "allowed" to hate on lol. i know a lot of that is coming from teenagers who will grow up and learn more self-awareness but that doesn't make it any less annoying or disappointing to see

4. the ridiculous mental gymnastics required to hate her so much while continuing to be a fan of the person who is married to her and in love with her lmao. sorry but if you truly think she's that irredeemable why are you still here

like. i hate msi and i go out of my way to avoid listening to them. but it's worth keeping in mind that the kind of shock-jock edgy gross music they wrote was not exclusive to msi in the 2000s. i hate it too and think it's stupid and counterproductive to whatever point it's supposedly trying to make but it was like. a thing for a while unfortunately. it was bad at the time and it aged even worse, but gerard and frank at the very least, and probably the others too, vocally enjoyed it. frank voluntarily chose to tour with msi and mcr performed with them multiple times and were always excited about it. if you truly think lynz's involvement with that band is indefensible, you should extend at least part of that criticism to mcr too. the amount of times i've seen people saying "omg frank hates lynz so much" is fucking ridiculous, and it's based entirely on the same kind of conjecture that led people to believe mcr didn't remain close friends after the breakup lol. if you have to make up things like that - or worse, make up and spread infidelity rumours or actual domestic abuse allegations (it's not even rare to see this on twitter) - to excuse their association with lynz/msi, you need to take a look at yourself tbh

this is partly a twitter-specific problem because that platform is literally set up to disallow meaningful or nuanced conversation but it's really exhausting to see hundreds of snippy "she's the devil" tweets and if you say anything vaguely critical of the the way fandom treats her you get immediately shot down with "why are you defending A Racist" with zero context or clarification. i hate to break it to you but if lynz is A Racist of an irredeemable level, so is gerard. hell, so is frank for blindly listening to and promoting black metal bands with nazi associations when he as a metal fan should know better and do his research. lynz's racism in question is the kind that's overwhelmingly common among liberal white women who are into witchcraft-type stuff. again, i am not condoning it, it's still wrong, but you cannot hold her to different standards than you do the guys in mcr. i'm just saying if you're able to acknowledge gerard's questionable statements and attitudes in the past, condemn them, acknowledge that he's changing and learning, but still go on liking him as a person and supporting his art...what is the reason you can't do the same for lynz.

i've seen people on twitter accuse lynz of plagiarism in an impressively tone-deaf misinterpretation of her art genre, sometimes the same people who would call gerard doing something similar a clever reference. i have literally seen people quote male members of MSI making sexually objectifying and openly misogynistic comments about lynz as some kind of gotcha saying "look, even her bandmates don't respect her" and like...if you can't see something deeply wrong with that i don't know what to tell you. i've seen COUNTLESS people bring up vague information "revealed" by her actual estranged family members on twitter after people stalked them to try to get dirt on lynz and if you think parroting back contextless one-sided information from other people's private family drama isn't a) about the least reliable source of information ever and b) deeply disgusting and inappropriate, i really don't know what to tell you

if you despise lynz to the point where you're in mcr's comments telling gerard to divorce her (again. i shouldn't have to say that this is disgusting behaviour) or booing when they perform summertime or accusing her of infidelity or abuse (which i cannot stress enough are rumours originally made up by frerard tinhatters) or anything like that, why are you even here. like what mental gymnastics are you doing to be able to remain a fan of gerard at this point. none of this is activism, if anything it's counterproductive to your point because it's indicative of the lack of critical thinking or maturity that's necessary when you're engaging with topics like casual/unconscious racism and normalised sexual abuse in the music industry

i'm probably not going to say more about this because this isn't really the hill i want to die on considering i don't even particularly like her myself but please i am begging you approach your dislike of lynz with just a little bit of critical thought and self-awareness instead of just blindly despising her for things that most of the men we blog about are also guilty of.

5 Easy ways to get into cosplaying

Welcome to my first official post! To start off this blog let's explore how to even get started in cosplaying.

Things you should know off the bat about the world of cosplay:

~ Anyone can cosplay no matter their race, gender, or disability, everyone should be able to get into cosplay

~ Under no circumstance should you change your race for a cosplay

~You should not feel pressured to be the "ideal" weight or body type of a character, unless you're cosplaying a monster or an alien you shouldn't feel like you need to drastically change yourself to be "perfect" in fact every cosplay is perfect! ^^

Now that we have established rules, let's learn how to cosplay!

Pick a character

Now this is easier said than done, believe me, but the best way to pick a character is to find a show, movie, or game that you completely love and find a character that you like or resonate with a lot, also dont feel like you can't cosplay a character because you feel like you can't do them justice or you dont look like them, were all here to have fun! for example when I first cosplayed Loki, I felt like i couldn't do them justice because I was short, chubby, and just didn't look like them at all, but when I did cosplay them, everyone loved it and I felt so confident in myself, so lesson of the day, cosplay whoever you want if it makes you happy.

2. Buy or Make

so you picked your character, awesome! Now you need to know whether to buy or make your cosplay, now there's kind of a debate on whether you should buy or make your cosplay and I'm here to say:

it doesn't matter! unless you are going into the masquerade or cosplay contest, buying is not the worst thing you can do, believe me, buying or making your cosplay is completely up to you, whether you don't know how to sew or you need a cosplay ASAP, buying is fine, or if you like the challenge or your character is niche sewing is the way to go.

3. Improve your makeup skills

If you want to cosplay for fun or your cosplays don't need makeup you can skip this part. Still, suppose you want a professional look or want to cosplay a character that doesn't have a normal skin tone you should listen, now depending on your character and where they're from. In that case, your makeup should make sense for them, for example, if your character is girly do a girly makeup look with soft features and pastels for the eyes and lips, if your character is edgy do. Edgy look with dark colors for the lips and eyes, you can even add accessories that you think your character would like, with makeup you can even transform your face, for example, I usually cosplay men. Still, I'm afab and have a naturally soft face, to fix this I do hard contour on my cheeks, I can do a more in-depth post about cosplay makeup if anyone requests it.

4. Prop making

Most characters whether theyre from an anime or game, most likely have a prop with them, whether its something small like a Tesseract for Loki or something huge like a Keyblade for Sora, now like with buying or making your cosplay this applies to your props too, if you want to buy a prop that's fine and if you want to make it that's fine too, it all depends on your character and your skill level, I will say personally that you should have some skills in prop making because depending on how niche your character is a prop for them will most likely be hard to come by, this also applies to the whole cosplay as well.

5. Having fun!

Now this is the most important thing you can do as a cosplayer, having fun and being a good sport, when you first cosplay you'll see people whose cosplay looks great, but it might make you feel small, but the thing is that they most likely started out like you, ill be honest, your first cosplay will not be your greatest one, but having a great cosplay doesn't equal to happiness, what does though is the fact that your cosplaying your favorite character and making friends who also are cosplaying their favorite character, with cosplay comes community and making friends and just connecting over the things we all love is the most important thing you can do

He's human. I think he forgets that frequently. How he can't heal faster than normal, how he can break just like I can. The only thing keeping him from death is skill and a whole lot of luck. Luck that will eventually run out.

The blood that spilled over the marble table I had laid him on felt so much darker than red. So much deeper than crimson. There wasn't a word for the life that seeped from his wounds. Not a way to describe how I felt watching the color drain from his face. To say I didn't know what I was doing would be a lie. I knew how to cauterize. To stitch. To save. Yet the shake in my hands was a reminder of the man dying beneath me. The one patient I couldn't allow myself to lose. A man I promised my life to. Who my soul yearned for.

I've lost time like this. Saving him. Hours blur together as if they hadn't happened at all— one moment my lover is dying beneath me, and within the blink of an eye I find myself standing in front of my bathroom mirror coated in his blood. I could feel the way it had dried and cracked along the creases of my hands. It didn't take much thought for me to turn the shower on and walk into it. Hot water soaked through my bloodied clothes, adding a comforting weight against my body as I watched how the water poured off of me in an orange haze. I knew that this wasn't making me clean. It wasn't freeing me of the proof I had to cut my lover open. But something about the way his blood slid off of me felt reassuring. Like I could see that slowly, surely, I was becoming pure again.

My hands moved on their own. Taking my clothes off, wringing them out and tossing them aside, washing away what remained of tonight's trauma. I felt like an observer of myself. As if I wasn't the one doing these things. My body seemed to take care of me when my mind couldn't. Drying my hair, getting me dressed, walking me passed the crime scene in the kitchen and to Dick, who lay passed out on the couch and blissfully unaware of the twenty four wounds I somehow managed to stitch successfully with what limited supplies I had. I dropped to my knees beside him. The weight of the situation finally seeming to crush me. He could've died. He almost did.

"Hey," Dick's strained voice pulled me back to earth for a moment. As I looked up at him, he wiped a tear away from my cheek and pulled me closer. "I'm so sorry, honey," Nothing more than a whisper. I said nothing in return. I forgave him, but at the same time I couldn't. This is what he had to do, and this is what I had to do in return. Forced to be a hero's savior. Despite everything he has done for me. Despite my love for him. I resented Dick at times like these. Where we were both at our lowest for the same reason. And maybe it was selfish of me, to be upset at him for something like this when he teeters the brink of death for the sake of Blüdhaven. But I couldn't help how I felt just as much as he couldn't help being hurt. "Say something," He begged.

"No more of this...." I knew this wasn't what he wanted to hear me say. But it's what he needed to. And to my surprise, he didn't try to justify what I had to see tonight. He didn't tell me he had no choice. He didn't say anything about responsibility. I left him to himself for a while, walking to the bedroom and grabbing whatever blankets and pillows I could and moving back to the couch.

"Don't sleep on the floor...." His hand reaching for me, in search of my forgiveness. I didn't give it to him. I backed away just slightly while putting the blankets down, giving myself some type of padding for the very light nap I'd be getting tonight.

"I have to make sure you don't die." Curt was my response. The wedge I had placed between us was hurting him more than his wounds were. I could see the tears that he fought from spilling. This wasn't what he needed. I knew that. My grudge wasn't against him. it was with the people who threatened to take him away from me. My hand making its way to his, which was still outstretched. “I'm gonna lose you like this one day.” My voice was quiet. He needed to know I wasn't upset. If only god hadn't been so cruel. If only we had been in a different time. A different city.

“I think I'm done for a while.” My heart jumped at the thought of this. I knew it wouldn't be forever. I knew that. But the thought of not having to fight with him to let his wounds heal was so relieving.

My night was restless. Waking up to the slightest movement, the smallest grunt or groan. Checking his temperature every few hours, honing my ears to listen only to his breathing. Antibiotics weren't an issue because of Bruce, I still had a fair amount of supplies from the last time I had to play doctor— but I needed to be prepared for absolutely anything in these first few days. Dick stirred while I ruminated in my thoughts. “Lay with me,” He whispered. I knew just by the grovel in his voice that he wasn't completely lucid, but the hand he outstretched was hard to ignore.

I reclined the seats of the couch to give myself more space and gingerly placed myself beside him. Sleep didn't take long to surround me. I was exhausted, and the comfort laying beside him sent me into a haze. There was something so beautiful about loving him. Something so comforting about his presence. I couldn't lose that... I couldn't give it up to save my heart, either. All I could do was savor it while I had it.

My Fall 2023 Watchlist & Opinions

Welcome to the comeback of my reviews that no one expected! But hey, I think this would be a nice practice for me to develop my writing skills and my critical thinking (?).

Take in consideration this post will be long because #unemployed, so everything will be under the cut.

Ready or not (I sure am not), here I go!

Atarashii Joushi wa Dotennen

Comedy, Slice of Life // ☆☆☆¾

After an atrocious experience with an abusive boss, Momose decides to switch workplaces. Used to such a toxic environment, he never expected his new superior to be so goofy!

The most wholesome show you'll find this season, and one of the most I've seen in general!

The work environment is pretty much paradise, each and every character being the living representation of the sweetest and most tender cotton candy you'll be able to find.

While the comedy mostly relies on Shirosaki's sillyness, it never gets old. Alongside the laughs, you'll find yourself aww-ing to many, many scenes.

Also, the series is conscious of the way people takes it (no, this is not a BL) and dedicates some scenes to it by giving different double meaning scenarios (they're all wholesome, no need to worry about that). Just a heads up, in case you're not into this kind of thing.

Want to know more? There's a canonical bisexual character in it! And here I was thinking that we didn't exist for Japan.

Totally recommend for those gloomy days, or even when you just need to shut off your brain.

Dr. STONE: NEW WORLD Part 2

Action, Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi // ☆☆☆☆

No summary due to spoilers.

I don't think there's much I can say about this one? I mean, unless I want to spoil someone, and I'm not a spoiler kind of person so...

For those curious about my experience, I'm enjoying myself very much! I decided to give it a try since my best friend loves it, and I liked it so much I quickly got up to date with it.

Now, do I understand every single thing they talk about? Hell nah, do you know how many times I failed chemistry and physics?!

But besides that, this show is a pretty wild and fun ride. And not only the previous parts, but also this one! Again, don't feel like making spoilers but the quality hasn't lacked not even a little bit. The characters are still as charismatic and funny as they've always been, and the plot keeps getting more and more interesting as it progresses.

Only thing I can say without explicitly spoiling anything: one of these days, Gen will end up messing with the wrong people. Can't tell you what tells me that, but he's messy enough for me to be unable to think otherwise.

Hametsu no Oukoku

Action, Drama, Fantasy // ☆☆

Once benerated due to their wisdom, witches are now being hunted down by humans who accuse them of impeding the progress of civilization. Adonis, a human raised by a witch, swears revenge against those who took his mentor from him.

CW: instances of extreme violence, forced non-sexual public partial nudity

Yes, I watched this one. Yes, it's an edgy one. No, it's not fun.

As someone who's always down to anything that has to do with fantasy, magic and supernatural beings, as well as being able to enjoy the trashiest things in life, I had some hope in the plot. Not in the way that it might be actually good, but in the way that it could be so bad I could get some laughs out of it. Sadly, this series takes itself quite seriously.

Which wouldn't be a problem if it weren't because it isn't even that good. The characters are plain, the episodes feel longer than they should, and there are times where you can see it go all over the top.

A pet peeve I have is when certain abilities/powers have ridiculous names, and this show does that to a tee by giving them some of the dumbest/edgiest (not exclusionary) names I've seen in a while.

"Do they even have to do with what each witch's magic is supposed to be?" I ask to the void in utter confusion.

"Absolutely not, but doesn't it sound rad?!" an easily impressed twelve-year-old exclaims from the grades.

Anyway, wouldn't recommend this show to anyone unless you're looking for an edgy power fantasy where characters die in gruesome ways not even five minutes after being introduced, magic type and all.

Also, can someone explain to me what does it mean to have "Natural Law" magic?

Hikikomari Kyuuketsuki no Monmon

Action, Comedy, Fantasy // ☆☆¼

After three years of becoming a total shut-in, Komari wakes up to find out she's the newest Commander in the Mulnite Imperial Army! Although she's descendant of a pretty powerful vampire family, she's rather inept when it comes to magic, even finding blood disgusting. Will her, alonside her maid, be able to make her path to success, or is failure awaiting for her around the corner?

Damn, this one took its sweet time to take off, only to crash and burn because the method was so cliché and overused.

The first three to four episodes are boring and not interesting at all, characters are bland as a wet piece of cardboard and the comedy excels at falling flat.

(Mild spoilers ahead, because I couldn't care less about this one)

And now you mean to tell me your seemlingly powerless main character is actually OP, only that under hypnosis? I didn't need to be a hound to be able to smell that crap from miles away, now did I?

But let's leave that aside to talk about Vil, A.K.A Male Gaze 101. I understand why she's attached to the protagonist, don't get me wrong, but did she need to sexually harass the protagonist or...? Also, how could I forget about the time where she almost forced Komari to pee herself in front of her!

Bro, if I were to know this was an omorashi hentai wannabe I wouldn't have given it a chance.

Anyways, if you're into any of the things I've mentioned previously, then enjoy yourself. This anime's definitely not for me.

Kamierabi

Action, Drama, Psychological, Supernatural // ☆½

A group of high schoolers see themselves forced to fight each other to death for the coveted title of God. Who will emerge victorious and claim their godly throne?

You have no right to ask that in the summary when you spoil the results in the first minutes of the first episode.

Let's be honest, if anyone is talking about this series is because Yoko Taro's name served as free promo. But did you know he's credited, not for the story, but for the concept of it? Big yikes, huh?

If you are a three-episode-rule kind of person, I assure you won't be needing that for this anime. One episode is enough torture, trust me.

The first minute is there to make sure you understand this story is different, is mature. There are no friendships, no love interests, only tons of suffering and betrayals. You know, what people back in 2011 probably went for when Mirai Nikki first aired.

Characters are not only boring as hell, but their designs are nothing to die for, heavely based on their assigned colors because you'll be forgetting their names the minute after they get introduced.

Fun fact: If you pay enough attention, you'll be able to see their phone cases' designs. Not only they look ugly, but they also spoil their so secretive abilities!

Speaking of character design, did you know the one in charge of it didn't even bother to create background character's templates? They all look like gray extraterrestrial things trying to pass as human beings, their never changing facial expressions being the cherry on top. This might be one edgy way of showing they don't matter to the main story, but it just feels super lazy. Also, this... artistic choice is just another spoiler, since everyone who has some sort of relevance has an established design. But oh well.

Fun fact: Every single one of these NPCs are gray, expect for a couple of them in episode six who are red and blue. One of them is the bad guy, can you guess who?

In summary, this show is utter trash. Wouldn't recommend unless you're as messed up as I am and like to watch crappy productions.

Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri

Drama, Mystery // ☆☆☆¾

When police office Totomaru is assigned to a serial killer case, he turns to Kamonohashi Ron for help—a once considered genius who, after a fatal mistake, got himself expelled from the top detective training academy and was forbidden to become one.

This is your classic detective show with the more normal character having to learn how to deal with the more eccentric one who's always really good at deducing. And I love it.

Yeah, it might be a copycat of other series with the same dynamics (like many other mystery anime), but they're all still dear to my heart. I just love them, man!

Every case they've introduced until now have been interesting and fun. It's been entertainting trying to think by myself what happened, who might be the culprit, how did they do it and why. As always, it's especially cool when you get close enough or, even better, when you were in the right. Serotonin kicks like those are always appreciated.

The dynamic between the protagonists is also really fun, Ron's shenanigans never getting old. Totomaru might not be having the time of his life, but I sure am!

If you're a fan of these kind of shows, then I totally recommend! If you're tired of the same scheme over and over again, maybe not so much. Would be nice if you'd give it a try, though!

Kanojo mo Kanojo Season 2

Comedy, Ecchi, Romance, Slice of Life // ☆☆☆¼

After their hot springs trip, Naoya continues his relationships with both Saki and Nagisa. Alongside Milika and Shino, they embark on a summer vacation full of romance with a fireworks festival, camping, and Okinawa. Chaos ensured.

There are not many series that touch upon polyamory which saddens me to a fault. The closest to this concept would be harem series, but a polyamorous relationship should never be a competition to see which whom does your "shared partner" choose to spend the rest of their life with.

While KanoKano isn't the best representation of this type of relationships (Saki often feeling like she's competing against Nagisa), it's not a bad series? Or, at least, not that bad. Rather decent, actually.

It's not boring, although it isn't the most entertaining series either. If I had to decide between KanoKano and any other series that touches upon polyamory (even if they do it with the tip of a stick, miles apart of the concept), I would probably go for Hamefura's canonical (albeit not in the way I would like it to be) Katarina fan club.

I just feel something's... wrong, you know. I get Naoya loves them both and that, in theory, both of them understand that, but I can't help feeling uncomfortable when Saki mentions this supposed competition the girls have (and the way they treat polyamory as "two timing" when that would imply it wasn't consensual?).

Besides that, it's a decent series to watch whenever you're bored. Not a masterpiece, but is not like it's trying to be one.

Kimi no Koto ga Dai Dai Dai Dai Daisuki na 100-nin no Kanojo

Rentarou has been rejected a total of 100 times throught his entire life. Is when he visits a shrine and prays for better luck when he meets the God of Love. He reveals to Rentarou that he'll get to date 100 women in the foreseeable future. The catch is, once he meets them they must happily love each other. Otherwise, they'll die. What will be of Rentarou and his 100 girlfriends during high school?

He has arrived. The man, the legend. The harem protagonist of all harem protagonists.

Rentarou Aijou has arrived, and he's here to make you and your wife part of his loveable and excessively numerous family.

As I mentioned when talking about KanoKano, I've been looking for series that touch upon polyamory. And if you're like me, then you've just hit the jackpot!

While I'm conscious 100Kano is a parody of harem series and was never meant to be taken seriously, the way none of these girls are competing for the protagonist's exclusive love is refreshing. They're actually a pretty big family, always supportive of each other and down to give each other a hand or two (or twenty, if needed). They'll do anything they can to make their boyfriend the happiest man alive, and so will he with them.

There're no favoritisms whatsoever. Such concept as "the first one to arrive gets to win" does not exist in his agenda. In Rentarou (and every single one of his girlfriends)'s mind, everyone wins because everyone is his favorite.

An excellent series to watch by yourself or with your pals in case you're looking for something silly and easy to digest.

Kusuriya no Hitorigoto

Drama, Mystery // ☆☆☆☆¼

CW: infant death, classism, self-harm, kidnapping

Maomao lived a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she’s sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. When rumours about imperial heirs falling ill surfaces, she puts her knowledge in medicinal herbs and poison to good use and finds a cure. It's then when she catches the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official who promotes her. The series follows Maomao as she solves numerous mysteries.

I can't explain just how excited I was for this one. As I said before, I love mysteries, but I also really like historical series. So when you mix both genres, you get characters who try to solve various cases with only the means they had yesterday.

Besides the art being drop dead gorgeous (alongside every single lady who makes an appearance in the story), the story is engaging and so much fun. The episodes are already a bit shorter than usual (albeit not for much, it's just me being petty), but the way everything develops makes it feel like they last no more than five minutes.

And Maomao—God Maomao! She's one of the best female main characters I've seen as of recently. She's not lacking personality—she actually has way too much, and I love that. She's so clever and capable at what she does, I bet it'd be so much fun to just stare at her as she picks different herbs or just stays still for hours, trapped in her thoughts.

I'm a sucker for good relationship dynamics and the one between Maomao and Jinshi is just *chef's kiss* exquisit. The way he's constantly trying to seduce her and she just stares at him in apathy or disgust (bonus for when she brushes off the places where he'd placed his hand on) are golden. I also love how what started as teasing and doubt about the other's true intentions morphs into genuine interest and maybe, just maybe, a tiny itty crush.

A pretty strong contestant for anime of the year, in my opinion.

Megumi no Daigo: Kyuukoku no Orange

Action, Drama // ☆☆☆½

The series follows three young firefighters who share the same goal—becoming members of the special rescue corps known as "Orange". We'll follow them from their early training days to the day they face the crisis that'll push Japan at the brink of collapsing.

I don't know about you, but I've never seen a series focused on firefighters. Yes, I know about Promare and Fire Force, but those aren't "real" firefighters, if you know what I mean.

Where's their daily life at the station, their training—just everything that comes with being one of them? I don't want flashy fight scenes against angsty twinks, I want to see people getting rescued from collapsed buildings and cats getting saved from trees.

Along with interesting characters and tense situations, all these making it difficult for you to not empatize with, Megumi no Daigo is here to bring us a peek on how the real deal is—with both the good, the bad and the ugly.

This anime is confirmed to be the prequel to a movie released in the 90's, so there's even more content in case you're interested!

Migi to Dali

Comedy, Drama, Mystery, Slice of Life // ☆☆☆

Twin brothers Migi and Dali pretend to be the Sonoyama's adoptive son, Hitori, in order to find out the truth behind their mother's death.

CW: (prepare your bingo cards) *inhales* forced non-sexual infantilization, forced partial nudity, forced non-sexual pet play, bullying, implied murder, classism, forced eating, non-sexual groping, surveillance, invasion of privacy, kidnapping and imprisonment. ~95% of these happen to a minor, so yeah.

While the main focus of the first two episodes was the comedy (it's still present in the rest of the series, just not as much), I didn't find it especially hilarious? It does give off Sakamoto vibes at times, but it never makes me laugh as much as the author's previous work did.

The mystery is still there, thought, and that's what keeps me coming back. The suspense surronding the twins' mother's passing is engaging, you genuinely want to find out what happened there and how the place where they've moved and its habitants are involved in the case.

Now, as I mentioned before this anime is disturbing and thus can be highly triggering for some. So please beware before giving it a chance.

Overtake!

Drama, Sports // ☆☆☆¾

Kouya is a professional photographer who, due to past circumstances, gave up his passion for taking pictures of people. But his fate changes the day he meets Komaki Motors, a family-run shop that regularly competes in F4 along with their only racer, Haruka.

CW: implied death (car accident)

Sports anime of the season, let's go! This time, about car racing. Never watched an anime like this one before, although I know Initial D is out there. I just haven't watched it... yet.

To be honest, I didn't expect to connect with the characters to this level. I got hooked to the story from day one and has been like that ever since.

The story is fun, the races will have you at the edge of your seat while cheering for your favorite team.

Because yes, I think the rival team can also be cheered on! Maybe their main face might not be the bestest guy, but Toshiki does deserve everything in this world and so much more.

And when it comes to the drama, it never comes out as over the top. Every single reason for them thinking, responding or acting the way they do makes total sense given their past ciscumstances.

Speaking of the characters, everyone here has enough personality to be separated from the rest: Haruka's overachieving and at times harsh demeanor makes a good contrast with Koutaro's more calm and playful behavior. And while Satsuki's charismatic, conceited and women-loving persona might be a pain for many, Toshiki serves as a good companion with his serious and ambitions being. And I could mention the adults, but I think you catch my vibe.

I so recommend this one!

Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou desu Season 2

Fantasy, Romance, Slice of Life // ☆☆☆½

We follow Sei, an office worker in her twenties who was suddenly summoned to another world as a "Saint". Taking advantage of her natural love of plants, she started working at a medicinal plant research institute. We also get to meet Albert Hawke, with whom she's more than friends but less than lovers.

Season two arrived and I have yet to rewatch the first one, although I think it might be a little too late for that.

Don't go into it expecting a wonderful series because it is not (or, at least, it isn't for me). It's a pretty neat feel good series, but definitely nothing out of the ordinary. Just nice people living their lives.

Sei and Albert's relationship is as wholesome as always, I appreciate them taking their time and not rushing into making things official. It feels, I don't know... adult.

There's literally not much I can say about this one other than I would recommend for those who are looking for a nice and relaxing shoujo.

Shangri-La Frontier

Action, Adventure, Comedy, Fantasy, Sci-Fi // ☆☆☆¾

Rakuro is a "crap-game hunter"—a strong aficionado to clearing buggy and just straight up bad titles that aren't even compatible with the now more frequently used VR technology. The game he's chosen to tackle next is the widely aclaimed "Shangri-La Frontier" that counts with thirty million players and counting. Little did he know this decision would change his fate alongside with many other players he meets along the way!

I can barely count the times I had this much fun while watching a series, and I can count even less the occasions where a gaming-inspired anime made me feel this great!

I've found myself dumbfounded so many times at just how detailed Shangri-La Frontier is. It's obvious there was research behind it, the author's a straight up legend for dedicating so much time and passion to something others would've easily disregarded as another basic, boring ass medieval-inspired MMORPG.

The level of character customization (you can even modify their origins like ‼), the many monsters you find along the way, and tons of easter eggs that players have yet to find in their entirety! It's my first time saying this when it comes to gaming-centered anime, but holy hell I wished this game existed IRL!

And honestly, I identify with Rakuro a bit too much when it comes to enjoying crap. In his case, are bad games. In mine, bad anime. I would love to have a chat with him and share our experiences and disgraces that come with this harsh hobby.

SHY

Action, Drama // ☆☆☆½

When we needed them the most, they appeared! As we were on the brink of World War Three, individuals with superpowers appeared all around the planet with the only mission to mantain peace. They would eventually become symbols of their nations, their presence being enough to lower the crime rates. Teru, most known as Shy, is Japan's heroine. When a mysterious and menacing association called Amalareiks surfaces, Shy must join forces with her fellow superheroes to stop their plans, all while dealing with her shyness and, overall, her teenage life.

CW: violence, death, self hatred, intrusive thoughts

Would it be cool to call it the more mature version of Boku no Hero Academia?

I had the manga for this series on my pending list for a while and when I saw an anime adaptation was coming out, not gonna lie, I got quite excited.

Now, I have to admit it's not one of my favorite series this season. It might be the pacing that sometimes gives me the feeling the episodes are, although just a little bit, longer than they actually are.

I love the concept and how it's executed, I really like the characters and the setting in which they're established. The drama they all have feels realistic and you can easily empathise with them. In my case, Teru's constant conflict with herself hit a little bit too close to home.

I would recommend it to those who're looking for a more mature series while also wanting to watch shounen-esque scenarios.

Sousou no Frieren

Adventure, Drama, Fantasy // ☆☆☆☆½

The adventure's over. The Demon King has successfully been defeated and thus Frieren and her fellow adventurers make their way back home. Now a highly regarded mage, she goes back to her slow-paced life only to realize years later, while attending Himmel's funeral, how short human's life expectancy is when compared with her own near inmortality. Frieren then makes the decision to begin a new adventure in the search of new absurd spells and friends alongside whom she expects to understand what life means to them and just how impactful can be what she perceives as nothing more than an instant.

CW: death, grief, mild violence

Oh Lord, this one's painful. I've no idea how they managed to do it, but they got me attached to the hero's party so quickly and so deeply this crap had already scarred me on episode one.

This story's gorgeous, I don't think I have to explain myself on that. Besides the more than stunning art, animation and music that acompannies us during the entirety of Frieren's self-discovery adventure, the slow pace and quiet moments are quite the delight.

The characters we meet along the way are also fantastic, written with such love, thought and care behind you'll fall for them in no time.

I truly don't want to talk much about it since I think this is an experience that one must live for themselves, but trust me when I tell you this is something you'll never forget.

SPY×FAMILY Season 2

Action, Comedy, Slice of Life, Supernatural // ☆☆☆☆

The same as season one, only that now the family's heading on a cruise ship expedition!

I don't think there's much I can say about this one? The second season's been giving the same vibes I got from the first one, so a wholesome, found family-centered comedic slice of life about three persons who don't know each other at all and do their best so that situation never changes.

Anya keeps on being the chaotic menace she has been from day one, Yor is still one of the best mothers ever alongside a woman I would never dare look for a fight against, and Loid keeps on repeating his more than iconic mantra as he unsuspectingly falls asleep while dreaming about certain woman surrounded by a zillion flowers.

But, you know, anything for the mission.

When it comes to the upcoming arc, I'm excited for seeing Yor at work! Been dying to get anything like this, and I'm so glad my prayers have been heard.

Undead Unluck

Action, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Supernatural // ☆☆☆¾

All Fuuko wants is a passionate romance like the one in her favorite shoujo manga. Sadly, her Unluck ability deems this dream impossible. But that anguish will have to wait because Andy, someone with the Undead ability, takes her as his test subject to see if, thanks to her misfortune, he can finally rest in peace. It seems peace has never been an option, though, because certain secret organization has begun chasing after them.

CW: not-quite-concenting groping

If I took my sweet time to start watching this series was mainly because, for some hell of a reason, it gave me big Mashle vibes. Don't ask, I just thought the comedy would be similar. And since my humble opinion on Harry Potter 2.0 is that it has its humour stuck up its ass, you might understand I gave an olympic jump over Undead Unluck.

But then I decided to give it a chance and man, Mashle would never!

Not the funniest series I've watched, but I appreciate the multiple laughs it gave me.

Now, what I do not appreciate are the various groping scenes. If Fuuko were to consent all of those, then cool. Who am I to judge whatever two consenting adults (Fuuko's 20+, right?) do with their lives and bodies? The thing is, not every groping is consented by her, especially at the beggining. So yeah, beware of that.

Putting that aside, the characters are pretty cool and so much fun to see fighting or just interacting with each other. The ability system the series has is rather interesting, would love to learn more about it.

Watashi no Oshi wa Akuyaku Reijou

Comedy, Fantasy, Romance // ☆☆☆½

We've heard this story before: girl reincarnates into her favorite otome game and, since she knows her way down every route, she gets to win over her favorite bachelor. Only that, this time, it might not be as predictable. After all, who knows what's truly inside Rae Taylor's mind? Claire François for sure doesn't, especially now that she's going after her—the game's villainess!

CW: discussions of homophobia, classism, rae can be creepy at times

In the words of @arataka-reigen, “This anime is like if Maria from Hamefura was the one who got isekai'd and then fell in love with OG Katarina”. Couldn't say it better, pal.

While this series is not one of my favorites this season, the characters not going right down my alley and the pacing not being the best, I truly appreciate the cafeteria scene. I've never seen such a discussion over diverse sexualities adn homophobia in an anime before, and I can only clap to that.

And not only that, but it seems like it's going down a rather... interesting path. I mean, the whole classism that's present during the series, the "commoner" students' complains, the game's title being "Revolution"... I smell something nice.

Yuzuki-san Chi no Yon Kyoudai

Comedy, Drama, Slice of life // ☆☆☆¾

From the day the Yuzuki brothers lost both their parents, Hayato never stopped taking care of his little siblings, making sure all their needs are met and nothing's lacking. They share tears, laughter, and a specially unbreakeable bond.

I've no idea what might be the reason, but all these stories about family (whether related by blood or not being quite irrelevant) alongside the others where they include and/or center around pets are my weakness.

The four brothers feel like actual humans beings, their dramatic and joyful moments in life will definitely take you for a ride althought, admitely, it might not be the most intense one.

Hayato would do literally anything for his family and, honestly, same. Both Mikoto, Minato, and Gakuto are downright adorable and would love to pinch every single one of those cheeks like there's no tomorrow.

If a cutsie family-center slice of life it's what you're looking for, look no further. But if what you want is a drama in general, then I would recommend Frieren first.

I kinda want to talk about this idiot for a bit. I obviously dont want to talk about Valkyra’s character toooooooooo much since a lot of what is up with her tm is a big part of the game’s narrative, but theres a bit of a different aspect I wanted to talk about.

Valkyra lisiri was a character that was really just an awfully written character. She was this too cool for school didnt need any friends hyper competent soldier who was actually written as a bit of a villain. One who would rather defend the status quo rather than actually try to change anything. It was edgy and over the top and just bleh.

So how did she become the main character in the game I am most focused on? Well what ended up happening is I had a lot of ideas for games at the time, and threw this one together as a bit of a throwaway project with these characters as that I didnt really care for anymore and the idea was to make something short and move on as a bit of a prequel to the thing I actually wanted to work on.

Well that clearly didnt happen, because the more I worked on this short throw away project the more I thought about what I could actually do with these characters. What I could do to make this setting more mine and not just rip off of sci fi series I liked. And as I wrote more and more the more things changed and were altered to the point where any of it is barely recognizable anymore-and I love that so MUCH!

It was no longer a prelude for another game I was working on or this half assed setting but has become something that I am incredibly passionate about! I told my self that I would try to focus on smaller projects but I cant keep myself away from this thing and these characters.

(o7 mech game concept we hardly knew ye-the concept was being on the run as a mech mechanic for a mercenary company where the gameplay revolved around fixing mechs)

While work is going much slower than I would like, due to mostly personal reasons, I really am proud with how things are really starting to come together for this project. I didnt really start focusing actual attention on it till probably the past year or so.

I think part of why this project means so much to me, is that it has taken something from a part of my past self that I dont really like, and made it into I think something far more interesting, far more fun, more technically impressive, and just so much gayer. And these once throwaway characters of little regards, have really become the core focus of the project.

Valkyra Lisiri went from this heartless action hero who could do anything, to a much more general person, struggling through life and trying her best, and often her best was not enough. Those actions of course having their own painful consequences, that shaped her into the character she now is.

Siane Vokir went from this really bitchy agent of the state to someone who at the drop of a hat gives up everything to fight fascism, someone who now has trouble dealing with her past and people in general, and just so many layers to her character.

The game has been so thoroughly ship of theseus’d that all that really remains of the first like year of work is just some characters have the same name and maybe a similar appearance, and that is just a fascinating and exciting thing to work with!

Anyways this post has gotten a little bit all over the place, but I guess I wanted to share some of this project’s history. I dont talk about the actual details as much as I should whenever I post stuff, because I have a pretty hard time with a lot of this stuff sometimes! I wanted to make posts talking more about the setting and the characters but that kinda got uh forgotten.... well maybe I will get back to that at some point.

(Part 1)

Three Miles stood in front of the punks, Miles 1016 chuckles: Come on, boys. Your mouths are hanging a bit too low.

Gwen looks at the three Miles variant: Oh wow, you're a girl. -seeing one Miles being a woman.

Miles variant giggles: Yup, well... I'm actually trans. trangirlie! I'm still working on a name for myself, so I still go by Miles. -She smiles at the group- I'm Miles Morales from Earth 1015! -She had on a Magenta and black Spider-woman suit, wearing long braids with pink tips at the end, and have big doe like honey eyes.-

The other variant said: I'm Miles from Earth 43! I'm a transman! -The other Miles stood being the same height as Miles 42, with green eyes and thick box braids hair. His Spider-man suit is more edgy with black and blue with cargo pants, thick shoes, and black sweater over his spider-man suit.-

Gwen gawks: Wow! You guys look freakin' cool! -She saw Miles 43 wearing some space lookin' shoes-

Miles 42: I was checking those shoes out too! They look mad dope!

Miles 43 smirks: These are my anti-gravity kicks! Makes me float in the air -He jumps showing off his kicks- I made them from a special metal called Vibranium.

The group: Whoa, that's so cool!

Miles 1016 looks over at the third Miles: Hey, man. You been quiet. That's pretty weird of you.

Hobie 138b notice the third Miles, who is dressed in all black, with piercings and had a tattoo of sunflowers showing on his neck: Darling, is that a Punk Miles? -The other Punks looks over noticing the other Miles-

Miles variant scowls: Excuse you, man. I don't like labels! I am, ME!

Miles 1016: Technically.... he hates labels. So you don-

Punk Miles: I'm Miles Morales from Earth 1019, I fucking hate the system, the government fucking fascist assholes. I believe in Black Lives Matter, Gay Rights, Fuck the pigs and Free Congo, Free Palestine, Free Yemen, Free all the oppressed countries from greedy hungry pencil dicks white men!

Hobie 138b being awestruck until his boyfriend nudge him in the rib getting jealous: Hobie!

Hobie 138b: Huh, what? No, it's just... -he looks at his Sunflower- Sunflower, please get a tongue piercing.

Miles 1016: Pfft!

Hobie 138e already looming over at Punk Miles: You know, I bashed a DICK-tator's head once... -his voice deep-

Miles 1019 smirks being interested in him: You did? Mmm, I actually blow up the NYPD!

The Punks seem to spread to their Miles, being already interested in them. Hobie 138c flock to Miles 43 and Hobie 138d went with Miles 1015. Gwen saw how bashful the Punks acted around their Miles, which is cute and funny. Seeing cool tough punkers being all shy, casually trying to flirt while their Miles are so sweet, and naive.

Hobie 138d to Miles 1015: So in your world... what do you do for fun?

Miles 1015 smiles brightly at him: I take care of my baby brother! I go skate with my best friend... um... hmmm, I really really love Pickles! I know a bit weird but it's been my favorite snack to eat while reading manga! -She saw the way he nodded, then he got close to him trying to meet his eye- What about you?

Hobie 138d blushes: Me! Oh, you know, starting Mayhem, breaking shit, fighting off CEOS and their unethical practices!

Miles 1015: Ohh sounds fun!

Miles 42 rolled his eyes: Oh brother...

Gwen laughs: This is so fun to watch.

Miles 43 talking with Hobie 138c: Hahaha, yeah. I beat up a few bad cops recently. They really hate me being around.

Hobie 138c: Really? Need help from an expert. I'm always free. I'll take you out in my world. I know a great place that sells the best fish n' chips!

Miles 43 chuckles: I would like that!

Hobie 138b look at his Miles: Darling, did you just hook them up.

Miles 1016 smiles at him: Maybe... I thought The Punks would like their own Sunflower. Besides, I see the way you always held back, my poor baby. -He got his boyfriends face to make him lean over so he can kiss him on the cheek!-

Miles 42 grunts: Gross.

Gwen: Awe, that's cute. You gotta admit, Miles.

Miles 42: Say where's Mariana?

The Hobies left their head up: Who?

A Spider-woman in pastel blue and pink: Hey guys, sorry I'm late and- Whoa so many Spider-punk! -She took off her mask revealing to be woman but with Miles' features. Her long hair tied into two thick long braids-

Miles 1016: This is Mariana! She's the female version of me or I'm the male version of her...

Mariana giggles: Right! Variants is so confusing, because who's is who in the multiverses! -She saw how Spider Punks were close to their Miles- Looks like I missed the match making. Shame, I thought I was gonna get a Spider Punk -she jokes-

Miles 42: I know a Ganke that's single!

Miles 1016: You really want a variant of us dating a Ganke huh?

Miles 1015: Well there was a few Miles that were... you know multi-verses. It never ends!

Mariana nodded: Oh for sure! -then turns to Miles 42- I'm fine just teasing. I'm not into dating.

Miles 43: There's another cute punker walking around.

Hobie 138b: As long as he stay away from my Sunflower. -he pulls Miles close to him-

Miles 1016: Bae, chill. I'm not going anywhere.

Mariana giggles: So this is your famous bf! He loves you too much! -She turns to Gwen- I've seen the male variant of you. Are you a flirt like him?

Gwen: Oh nonono. I'm not.

Miles 42: Wait, Mariana? -Looking at Miles 1015- Why not names yourself that?

Miles 1015: Me as Mariana? Hmmm... I was thinking of Mila.

Miles 43: Mila? -He did not like that name-

Miles 1019: Ew, sounds too fanfic to me. It's like okay we get it, your boy name is Miles and girl went to Mila!

Miles 1015: When you put it like that... it is fucking weird. huh?

Hobie 138d hugs protectively at his Miles: Shh, darling. Don't listen to them! They are just jealous at your beautiful name!

Miles 1015 giggles: Thanks, Hobie! Maybe Marina? Still thinking about it.

Mariana: Marina is a cute name.

Miles 1016: What about Star? You mention you wanted something with piz-zazzs!

Miles 43: My birth name was Mariana and changed it to Miles, because my dad would've name me, Miles.

Miles 1015: I want a name that's me! Star would be cute but sounds a bit too common too. -She sighs- I'll wait and see.

Hobie 138e: Patience is a skill. Name whatever your comfortable with.

Mariana nodded: Yeah! It will come.

Gwen asked Miles 1016: So are they all like you? Like doing their own thing?

Miles 1016: Umm, not really. 43 and 1019 lost their dad from being shot by a dirty cop. Mariana's and Miles 1015's parents are alive but they lost their friend. I think Mari's was Ganke and 1015 was her Peter Parker... I think.

Gwen: Oh wow.

Miles 42: Mariana' and Miles 1015 have younger sibling too.

Miles 1016: Yeah, it's crazy how multi-verses work. -They watch the Miles and Hobies interacting. Mariana happily taking with them being so bright and bubbly. Then Miles 1016 felt a tap on his shoulder, he looks over to find Punk Miguel!- Oh hey, Miguel!

Punk Miguel, from Earth 970 and younger version of Miguel 2099. He's much nicer and mostly speak Spanish, since he grew and live in Mexico. In his world, Mexico won the American-Spanish War, so states like California didn't exist, but remain part of Mexico. USA Is a small country that leader was taken over by Mexico: Compa, qué le parece esa morra? -His Auburn red eyes on Mariana- Hmm?

Hobie 138b looks at the lad: Oi, I'm watching you.

Miles 1016 said: That's Mariana. Go talk to her.

Miguel 970 shyly didn't want to speak to her by himself: Amigo, please... help me? -having a thick Mexican accent-
