Not a Single Day
I was 20 when I found myself pregnant.  I was also in an abusive relationship.  
Ralph* was the cool guy in high school that I thought could never be interested in me.  We ran into each other after we graduated and he was charming, he was a good dancer, popular, and he was interested in me.  My ex-boyfriend at the time had said, “Don’t date him. Trust me on this one.” I thought my ex was just jealous, so I ignored him.
Ralph and I started dating and it was all great in the beginning.  I was going to parties with all the cool kids from high school---the group I wish I could have hung out with back then---and I was having fun. Until it started to change.
First Ralph began to tell me that he hated how I dressed.  I was too pretty to be dressing like that.  Then he didn’t like my music, my books, my friends in college.  
“You’re really immature, you know?” he once said to me.
Soon, he began to snap whenever I’d contradict him; if I had friends he didn’t know; if I had male friends.  Why was I with him?  Who can say?  I was 20 and dumb.  I tried once to break up with him, but it didn’t go well.  The belittling continued.  The verbal abuse increased. 
So when I discovered I was pregnant, I wanted to die. I had used protection.  What happened? My mother, who was a very strict Latina mom, always said if I was ever pregnant she would kick me out.  So, I couldn’t turn to her.  And what was I going to do?  Live with Ralph? No.
So I went to my local Planned Parenthood and had an abortion. The people at PP were very kind and compassionate and didn’t judge me.  I had judged myself enough for everyone.  Later that day, with my abortion that only Ralph and my best friend knew about, I slept on the couch after crying myself to sleep. I cried because I was tired, scared, but mostly relieved. I knew it had been the right decision.
A few days later, Ralph shouted at me that I was a murderer and that I hadn’t taken him into account. He kicked my car and screamed. Not long after, he punched me in the face for changing the radio station. It was the first time that he had been physically abusive. I told my family I had been mugged because I felt ashamed.  I felt ashamed that I had allowed that to happen to me.  I had had enough.
Without Roe v. Wade, I wouldn’t have been able to have an abortion. I wasn’t ready to become a mother, and I certainly did not want to have children with Ralph.  There has yet to be a day where I wake up and think, “Maybe I shouldn’t have?”  I have always been pro-choice and believed in a person’s right to choose, even before my abortion. That abortion saved me from being tied to an abusive, controlling prick of a human being for the rest of my life.  I don’t regret that abortion for a single moment.  Not a single day. Not one. 
(*Names have not been changed because fuck him. And for those who say that maybe he changed?  No, he didn’t.  Years later, he messaged me on FB and when I said I wasn’t interested in talking to him, he blew up and called me names.)

is everyone in milgram just dead
Okay I'm making this post because while I'm not sure how much I believe this, it's a possibility that's been eating at my head for a while, so I gotta share it somewhere even if it's not the most solid theory in the world.
So anyways, hello members of the jury! Today I want to discuss the weirdly recurring theme of the prisoners in Milgram possibly being dead, and Milgram being some sort of afterlife thing. Given the fact it clearly has some supernatural elements, it certainly isn't impossible. So let's get into it!

Yuno and the Allegations
The biggest hint that at least some of the prisoners might be dead is the in Yuno's second VD, Absolute Zero.
Yuno: Oh! Also, that reminds me, there was one thing I'm curious about. Es: What? Go ahead and say it. Y: Am I…really alive? E: That's…what do you…. Y: Hm…if you don't know, then it's fine. E: Yuno…. Y: Hey, it's time, right? E: Y-yes. Prisoner number 2, Yuno. Sing your sins.
Weird thing to say, really. So, presumably, she has some reason to believe she might be dead. Which is especially worrying because Yuno is one of the most intelligent and perceptive prisoners in Milgram, and might even have higher awareness of some of the more supernatural/meta elements of the series, as seen by images from both her cover songs appearing in Umbilical and Tear Drop.
All this is to say, if Yuno has reason to believe she might be dead, we have reason to believe so as well.
There are two points of Yuno's story were I feel she could have died. One is during her abortion, given a question from Trial 2.
(T2) Q20: Did you hate the person you killed?
Y: It was too much of a pain to for me to think about anything.
So her abortion was painful, which likely means it wasn't done in a hospital, as professional abortions typically don't cause too much pain in the moment (source), even if they can cause cramping or discomfort in the recovery period. If it wasn't done professionally, and it hurt a lot, it's very possible she may have died while performing it.
However, because of a few things we'll talk about later, I'm not sure this is very likely. The answer I find more likely is that, unfortunately, she may have committed suicide by jumping off the staircase we see her standing on in her Undercover silhouette shot.

For one, because what the hell would this shot even be otherwise. I've seen people suggest infanticide as opposed to abortion, but that wouldn’t cause physical pain (you could argue that answer is about emotional pain, but I'm not sure how much that works), it doesn't match her kill-shot in Undercover, and she herself has claimed her "muder" was abortion (and I don't see reason for her to lie about that). It also doesn't seem likely she would get pregnant more than once, seeing this question:
(T2) Q10: If you could turn back time, would you commit the same murder once again?
Y: I'd make sure that I won't have to commit it. That's it.
So, then, what the hell is up with that Undercover shot? Usually they say something important about the prisoner or their crime, but it really doesn't seem to have anything to do with anything.
This is where I bring up that Yuno falls off a staircase at the end of Umbilical.

Like, obviously this is more meant to be metaphorical, as in Yuno "slipped up" and now has to avoid falling by grabbing the balloon, which ends up destroying the staircase which had previously been related to the mixing of DNA (long story). But... she still is falling from a staircase. That is what is happening in the video. This is a silly argument, but it does exist.
Now, there's a few other things which could imply this, but that will have to wait for a moment. So while there is very little evidence for now, I'd say this is the most likely reason for why Yuno believes she may be dead. Especially given she might have depression (check out this cool post by weather-cluddy), her comitting suicide is sort of the best guess we can make I feel.
Nevertheless, no matter the reason why, Yuno believes she may be dead, which opens the door to other characters, if not all of them, to be dead as well. Let's take a look at the other prisoner most likely to actually be dead in my opinion, and see if we can establish a pattern.
Haruka's Worrying Situation
I believe, even if no one else is dead, it is highly likely Haruka attempted suicide. I am not going to go too in-depth in here, because moibakadesu already made a really good post about it, which is where I got the theory from in the first place. In fact, the idea Haruka may have at least attempted suicide has existed ever since Trial 1, check out this cool post by Venus from thinkin-bout-milgram. Here's a summary of what the main points of the theory are:
-The repeated motif of water and drowning could indicate the way Haruka killed himself, especially since he lived in Naogaka, Niigata, known as the "city of water."
-Haruka repeatedly attacks and even strangles a younger version of himself in Weakness, in one occasion alongside the lyric "I've become a victim, I've become a victim."
-The young girl in Weakness might actually be a representation of the "ideal Haruka", as he's stated his mother wanted a daughter instead of a son (I don't actually agree with this part, I do think the girl is a literal girl Haruka killed, due to several lines from his VDs, such as him saying Amane "brings back bad memories." However, it's still a possibility)
-The nonchalance with which Haruka speaks of comitting suicide in his second MV, Metamorphosis of the Weak, could imply he's already done it once.
-The line "if with one click, and I can reset everything" in AKAA can be more directly translated to "if with the push of one button I could be reborn", which paired with butterflies being symbols of death and rebirth and being connected to Haruka because of the name of his second VD, could imply Haruka died and was reborn.
-Haruka standing on a chair in AKAA as his shadow lines up with the shadow of the bars in the window to create the ilusion he has a noose around his neck.
-At the end of AKAA, Haruka is surrounded in what looks to be formaldehyde, which is used to preserve the corpses of dead animals, while the aforementioned "I could be reborn" lyric plays.
As you can see, there's a lot here, which is why I think it is highly likely Haruka comitted suicide.
There is an issue with bringing this theory in, which is that part of the theory is that Haruka's silhouette in the Undercover shot doesn't have white noise, which separates him from the others and could imply he's a victim like Hinako and Mahiru's boyfriend, who similarly have no white noise. The problem for our purposes is that this theory assumes a lot of the other prisoners, such as Yuno, may have committed suicide as well, creating an inconsistency with this point. I don't have a good answer for this, beyond a really odd, Hamlet-esque "Haruka is a victim of his own madness" kind of thing which doesn't work very well, so unless any of you have another explanation, it's best for this theory to just sorta ignore the white noise thing.
So, now we have two prisoners who very likely died before Milgram. This vaguely establishes a possible pattern: what if all the prisoners were taken right as they died?
Muu’s Mysterious Memory Mishaps
Es: You said you wanted to go back home, right? And, "suppose" we did let you… Even if you were to leave this place, you'll then have a brush with the police, won't you? Muu: *Surprised* E: I mean, you've killed someone anyway, so are the police not making a move in regards to that? M: Well, I don't know. As of now, I don't have a clear memory of what happened after I did it. And then before I knew it, I was here. E: Is… that so? M: You guys should've known that, being the ones who brought me here after all.
This line from Muu’s first VD has always intrigued me. Muu doesn’t have a very good reason to be lying here when seen in full context, so she’s likely telling the truth. But, why? Why doesn’t Muu remember anything clearly after her crime, and why was she taken so quickly after committing it?
First idea is that perhaps all the prisoners are simply taken right after the murder they’re in Milgram for; even in the case of multiple murders, you can say Milgram just decided to take them for the last one exclusively.
However, Shidou serves as a counter example, because of the ending of Throw Down.
It’s a pretty simple logical progression. Shidou has no reason to kill after the flower person dies, so their death is after his last murder most likely, and yet he does remember it happening. Thus, Shidou has a memory of something which happened an undetermined amount of time after his final murder.
That means the "fuzzy memories" thing isn't universal. This can also be vaguely inferred by the attitudes certain prisoners have regarding their "murder(s)", like Kazui for example.
Now, you could argue Muu simply doesn't remember well because of the Trauma, and she just happened to get taken shortly after her murder. However, there is a chance now that there is a reason she was taken shortly after her murder.
You know what this post is about. You know what I'm about to imply. So I'll make the observation now:

In It's Not my Fault, one of Muu's shoes is off after she kills Rei. And we have seen this imagery of "one shoe off" to represent suicide before.

It's common in Japan to take both shoes off before comitting suicide, but if you want to read into only one of the shoes being off, you could argue it represents they're "half-suicides", as Milgram also considers them murders. In that sense, you (or Muu) could argue were Muu to commit suicide after killing Rei, then she would also become "Rei's victim", the same way Hinako and Mahiru's boyfriend are Kazui and Mahiru's victims.
This idea that Muu might still be a victim in the situation could also be implied by the lyrics here:
[It's Not my Fault] It’s not my fault after all, after all. Everyone wants me to be innocent. What a relief. Can’t be helped. I’m always meant to be pitied!
(Btw I'm using the fan translation in the wiki because the English subs in that video are... odd)
Yes that sentiment is repeated a lot during the song, but Muu does shout "I'm always meant to be pitied" ("I'm always the drama queen") at the top of her lungs here.
Now, the shoe thing isn't quite like that in After Pain, but we never actually see Muu's shoes in the real world, only in the blank inner world with the broken hourglass, and there are other inconsistencies with reality there, namely Rei's body's position.

You can see her right shoe is on there, but again, this scene isn't real.
The concerning thing is that apart from that, After Pain does not help Muu beat the suicide allegations.
In particular, look at the scene of the photo I put there. You can see there's a bunch of people judging Muu for her murder, as it's usually not considered a socially acceptable thing to do. But, hold on, didn't Muu say she didn't remember anything after her murder? Correct! That means she doesn't remember this "judgement" happening, but she imagined it would. Perhaps that's what the one line means:
[After Pain] Counterattack being a suicide note
Counterattacking Rei, killing her, is social suicide. For obvious reasons.
...
But it's still called a suicide note, which is not a good look. And yes, I do think the Japanese lyric explicitly references death, though take that with a lot of salt since that's just Google Translate and DeepL talking.
In fact, that entire set of lyrics is pretty odd.
[After Pain] Let’s meet up inside the pain, a place just for me Postmortem makeup to hide my heart, how to solve it is a secret The stabbing of the little devil’s voice, counterattack being a suicide note “I love YOU”
"Meeting up inside the pain" probably refers to hurting Rei, so now they're hurting together. The "stabbing of a little devil's voice" is probably referring to dangerous impulses, so murderous thoughts. "Counterattack being a suicide note", already explained. "I love YOU", because Muu is a girlkisser.
But the "postmortem makeup" is odd. You could argue the "death" which happened before the "makeup" was applied was the "death" of Muu's reputation, her old persona. Rei "killed" "that Muu", and now Muu is hiding her real feelings with "postmortem makeup."
But then, why would the method to solve it be a secret? Who is she keeping it secret from? Rei, and all of Muu's old 'friends', all know what lies beyond that makeup, they all saw what Muu was like before Rei stepped in.
That means there's another interpretation. If her real feelings are a secret, there's only one person they would be a secret from. Es (and us by extension). In a way, After Pain is hiding part of her heart, the less sympathetic parts shown in full in It's Not My Fault. Muu being a bully was already implied in After Pain, mind you, but it was still relatively "hidden", at least compared to It's Not my Fault.
And if that is the way we're meant to read that line, we run into the allegations again. If the makeup is for Milgram, and it's "postmortem" makeup, then Muu is already dead.
And that's without mentioning how much After Pain seems to imply suicidal tendencies in general.
[After Pain] If I was gone, If I had just disappeared I overheard, I found out How much I’m not needed There’s no special meaning, I got the short end of the stick I overheard, I found out How much I’m not needed
I don’t want tomorrow to come, I want to forget yesterday I was miserable, someone please help me
Maybe I’m done Just one more time before saying goodbye I’m just kidding, please forget I said that
The only lyric that doesn't seem to imply it is:
I want to feel “alive”, is it ok if I breathe?
But feeling alive and being alive isn't quite the same, right? You can be alive without feeling alive, and if someone doesn't feel alive, it's possible they're not a very good state of mind.
So, what could this all imply? If we're going with the idea of murder-suicide, it's possible Muu was very worried about how people would hate her after the murder, as implied by After Pain, decided she didn't want to deal with that, and unfortunately made the decision to kill herself.
One small thing which could serve as a counterpoint is her Trial 1 Voice Reveal distorted line.
Fufufu... It's your fault... for doing horrible things to me.
She seems pretty sure of herself here, and it's very likely this is after her murder. But it's perfectly possible she said this initially, then thought about the social consequences, and that's when she started to feel bad. It's also worth noting the only time in It's Not my Fault where Muu seems to hesitate is right after her murder.
[It's Not my Fault] Wait, wait, just as a hypothetical. What should I do if I’m actually a bad girl? Don’t ever hate me, and don’t look for what lies “after and from” the pain.
This is immediately after the murder, when she comes out of a caccoon, presumably her arriving at Milgram. So, she was initally confident, that's when she says "I’m always meant to be pitied!" in It's Not my Fault and presumably her Voice Reveal line, then hesitated and started to feel awful as we see in After Pain.
... Well, there's also the way more uncharitable reading where Muu killed herself so people also pitied her instead of just hating her for killing Rei, but that's a bit too dark and in bad faith for my tastes. It is there, though.
So, yeah, Muu may be dead too. And she brings with her an interesting implication; the prisoners may not have clear memories of the events leading up to their death. So, even if some of them committed suicide, it's possible they simply don't remember ever taking the decision to do so, explaining their behavior in the prison.
And it also could explain away... one apparent contradiction. One which exists outside of this theory, but that this theory could explain.
Amane and the Voice Reveal Trailers
As most of you know, the Voice Reveal trailers for all these characters contain certain distorted phrases which in general seem closely linked to their murder. And as pointed out by blueepink07 in this post, it seems the First Trial Voice Reveals are things the prisoners said after their murder, while the Second Trial ones are showing a point before their murder. Check out Kazui's, for example.
(T1) "I'm so dumb... Why did I have to dream?"
(T2) "Hinako, I love you more than anything."
There's also Muu's, since I've already brought it up before.
(T1) "Fufufu... It's your fault... for doing horrible things to me."
(T2) "Hey..why don't you listen to me...? I'm telling you... Hey...HEY, I'M TALKING TO YOU"
The second being right before she killed Rei.
That works well enough for all the prisoners... except Amane.
(T1) "Ahh! I'm so sorry...! I'm sorry...! I'm sorry for breaking the rules!"
(T2) "Father is a very praiseworthy person. Once [my/his] virtue increases, he'll come back home, right? It's a little lonely, but I'm fine!"
In theory, Amane would have been punished before her murder, as we see happen after she heals the cat in the taser scene. Meanwhile, if she's lonely without her father, it could perhaps be because her mother is dead after Things Happened (yes I'm going with Mother!Victim theory on this one).
But that's not the case. Following the pattern, the line about her father coming home at some point is before her murder, and apparently, she was punished for breaking some kind of rule after her murder. The implication here, horrid as it is, could be that her father returned home after she killed her mother and punished her for doing so.
Thankfully, this is impossible. After all:
(T1) Q18: Do you regret your "murder"?
A: No. It was a natural obligation.
(T2) Q3: State the name of your victim.
A: There is no victim. Only the punished.
(Taking some liberties on the translation of Trial 2 since the questions are still coming out as I write this)
So Amane genuinely believes she was following her cult's principles to a T when she killed her mom. As much as that likely isn't the case (long story), if she had gotten punished for killing her mom, then she wouldn't think like this. If she had been punished for it, she wouldn't think her murder was a "natural obligation", but rather a mistake on her part.
What this implies is that Amane doesn't remember being punished by her father.
...
Amane... doesn't remember...
Fuck.
Yeah, remember when I said it was possible the prisoners don't have clear memories of the events leading up to their death? Going by the "T1 after - T2 before" logic the Voice Reveals seem to follow, we can infer Amane was likely punished for killing her mother, but we also know she can't remember it happening, otherwise she would regret it. And based on what we learnt from Muu, we do have a way to explain how that could happen. If Amane died while receiving the punishment the T1 Voice Reveal alludes to, she wouldn't have a clear memory of it.
And the thing is, it does seem likely Amane received this punishment. Think about it. Interrogation questions are one thing, since the creators don't fully control them, but why mention her father would possibly return home in the Voice Reveal trailer? Unless he did. Hell, you could argue we might know the exact moment he returned. Amane does look at the entrance of her apartment at the end of Purge March, though that could simply be for dramatic effect rather than being a literal thing which happened.
But there's more. Because if her father returned home, we might actually have an answer for another one of the mysteries surrounding Amane's situation. The Undercover prisoner card.

The image on her card seems to show a bathroom. It is widely assumed the images on these cards are the location the murders happened in, but to my knowledge, this isn't 100% confirmed. However, this creates a small issue with Amane. Just looking at the murder shot in Purge March is enough to confirm that.

I made a more detailed theory on her murder on this post, diagrams included (scroll to the bottom if you're only interested on the murder), but for now, there are two things to note here. One, there's a trail of water which seems to come out of the door with the light on, as the puddles are bigger the closer they get to it, implying that room is the bathroom. And two, the room the murder actually happened in seems to have a window/door behind a curtain, which isn't what Amane's bathroom looks like.

Adittionally, there isn't any blood outside of the murder room, implying the victim's body wasn't dragged there.
All this seems to imply Amane's victim didn't die in the bathroom, which is sorta a problem considering the previously mentioned commonly accepted theory. But this idea that Amane may have died while being punished, perhaps while being drowned as we know that's one of the accepted methods of punishment in her cult, brings up a different possibility.
What if the images in the prisoner cards aren't showing murder location? What if they show the last place the prisoner was seen in, the place they died?
Kotoko, Mikoto, and the Prisoner Cards
So, first, is there any indication either of these might be dead? For Mikoto, not really. Sure, there's the whole Death card at the end of MeMe thing, but that doesn't have to be taken so literally.
Kotoko has a very little potential hint in the fact she's shown alongside a wolf at the start of HARROW, but by the end the wolf is by itself. If the wolf represents a potential partner (long story), then maybe Kotoko died?

Though you can easily argue the wolf is slightly different and thus is meant to just represent Kotoko.
However, the reason I'm bringing them into this is because their prisoner cards are completely nonsensical under "murder location" theory for the images shown. Let's start with Kotoko.

It shows an alleyway, which at first seems like it makes sense. We do see her attacking a man in an alleyway. However, after that happens, one of the pieces of background text says this:
◆ A wanted thief was assaulted by an unknown assailant Early yesterday morning, a nearby shop employee reported hearing screaming and seeing a man lying on the ground. According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, the man had lost consciousness after being beaten on his face, stomach, and other areas, and was taken to the hospital. The police are currently trying to identify the suspect. [...] According to previous investigations, the male victim was wanted throughout Tokyo for theft and assault charges and was identified as the suspect, Mikio Oshii.

Mikio Oshii is the name of the man Kotoko assaulted in the alleyway. It seems odd to me that we would learn he was taken to the hospital if he later died in it somehow, especially because Kotoko didn't want to kill him. We can clearly see this because of a crucial difference between her attack on him and her attack on the serial killer who likely is her victim.

She covers her face while attacking Oshii, because she doesn't want to be recognized. She is committing assault, after all. However, that only matters if she's planning to keep him alive. Conversely, she doesn't cover her face while attacking the serial killer, because she knows he won't be a witness. She went into that warehouse planning to kill.
Of course, she could have accidentally done too much damage, but the issue there is that she would probably express some remorse in that case. She doesn't, and the fact she only ever talks about one victim-
[TASK (T1 VD)] I did kill someone. [...] I don't have a single regret.
-it really seems like Oshii was able to survive her attack.
That creates an issue with her prisoner card. It shows an alleyway, but her only victim died in a warehouse. As confusing as that sequence is, he did die in the warehouse.
You know when we do see an alleyway again, though?

But she's not wearing her face covering. And if this was the alley with the one sign about a car accident that shows up over and over in HARROW, I'd imagine we'd see the sign, even if it was obscured in some way. So once again, a silhouette shot which seems to have nothing to do with her murder or her general situation.
So, is it possible she died in this alleyway? That's the only other reason I can imagine why it'd show up in her prisoner card, so. As for what exactly happened, I imagine she may have been murdered at the whim of her victim's father?

So, she got found out and immediately assassinated? It's a bit out there, but it would explain both her prisoner card and her attitude in the prison.
And then there's Mikoto.

As you can see, his card shows a street. The issue with Mikoto is one of format. The cards only ever show one location, but we know Mikoto has at least two victims.

So yeah, at least two. You could argue the bathtub murder is actually a third one, which... huh. Two things that absolutely exist and a Secret Third Thing, the existance of which is disputed? Trikoto vibes.
Point is, Mikoto has two different murder locations at least. The street, yes, but also the subway. This creates a problem with the "images in the prisoner cards are murder locations" idea, because it only shows one. You could try to gymnastics your way out of this by saying maybe Hostkoto committed the street murder while Orekoto killed the other victim(s), and because only Hostkoto is considered a prisoner by Milgram, only his murder is shown? But I feel that raises more questions than it answers.
Instead, if we assume the images to be death locations, the ambiguity disappears, because Mikoto as a system can only have one death location. The issue is you have to explain how Mikoto died in the middle of the street, which is a bit difficult.
The best guess I can give is related to the subway victim. It's been pointed out before that guy looks a lot like a stereotypical Japanese delinquent, which could imply he was part of a gang. If that's the case, it's possible the killer angered the wrong people by killing him, similar to Kotoko, and thus was later murdered himself. We know that street isn't very safe, on account of one of the alters getting away with murder there. It's a pretty large stretch, and has like zero evidence, but it's physically possible at least.
Let's take a quick look at the other prisoners and see if their images can also be explained by the "death image" theory.

We know Muu would share a death location with her victim if she really committed suicide as the theory states, so nothing weird there. Haruka's a bit more awkward, because it shows the forest he very likely killed the girl in, but I'm not entirely sure if the forests near Nagaoka has bodies of water deep enough to drown oneself. There is the Shinano river, which has... trees, around it.

This was taken from Google Street View in Nagaoka. Again, not sure how deep it is, but assuming it's deep enough to drown, it could work if you ignore the trees don't look too much like the ones irl. Maybe Haruka threw himself off the bridge?
Alternatively, Nagaoka borders the sea, and it seems like there's forest almost all the way up to it. So maybe that could work? Unsure.
Worst comes to worst, we can maybe change it to saying Haruka didn't drown himself, but killed himself in some other way in the forest. Point is, I think Haruka's isn't too big of an issue.

Fuuta, Mahiru and Kazui don't have a lot of evidence towards what the hell would have happened, but the best assumption I can make is they all committed suicide because of guilt. Fuuta in his room, Mahiru in the suicide forest (likely also where her boyfriend committed suicide), and Kazui by jumping off a building like Hinako. As for their evidence...

Additionally, he's also an outlier for the "muder location image" theory, since what one would consider his "murder location" is very ambiguous. Is it his room, where he sent online hate from? Is it Killcheroy's room, where she assumedly died? Wouldn't it be the front of Killcheroy's house, where Fuuta took the picture to dox her? Again, death location is less ambiguous.
Fuuta's attitude during Trial 1 could be seen as a bit weird if he was suicidal, but I'm not sure we can comfortably say that with the limited information we have.

That, alongside a lot of the bg text from TIHTBILWY, implies Mahiru likes the idea of copying her lover. Not the greatest quality to have when your lover commits suicide.

Where the smoke of his cigarette turns into a noose. Of course, that's meant to represent self-destruction in general, but it could also be taken more literally. He... doesn't have much else.
Thus, everyone else vaguely fits the idea of "death image"... except him.

Our favorite headache inducing doctor strikes again! His card shows a hospital room, which is a very strange death location, but perfectly fits his murders. You could argue he runs into the same issue as Mikoto, but it's actually possible Shidou just killed all his victims in the same room, so.
Yeah, Shidou's probably the biggest counterargument for this theory. Because while it's possible he died in a hospital, there is zero evidence for it, beyond the image itself. Hell, neither Throw Down or Triage ever seems to imply he died in the first place, which is an issue. This theory's already heavily dependant on the extremely flawed "you can't disprove it" argument, but at least most of the other ones have some kind of logical progression which gets you to how they died.
So, to complete the theory, we have to make the pretty big jump that Shidou died inside a hospital room, without knowing how that happened.
... Wait, inside the room?
Wait wait wait, show me Fuuta's and Amane's again.

Hmmm... 0308... hmmmm... 0308... I totally didn't just do this to put the two together... hm...
Yeah, same thing. They both show the inside of a room. Which, along with Shidou's, shows that these images can show the inside of buildings, right?
But, then... why is Yuno's outside?

That very clearly isn't the inside of a building. But this generates a problem for the "murder location image" theory, because Yuno's "murder" was abortion. Even if it wasn't done professionally, she would have still done it inside, presumably. This creates an inconsistency with Fuuta, Amane and Shidou. If their murder locations are shown from inside, why is Yuno different?
However, this inconsistency disappears if we assume the images to be death locations. I previously established if Yuno died, she likely committed suicide by jumping off a staircase, which does vaguely fit this image. It's similar to Kazui's in that way.
Now, I don't want to get too ahead of myself here. Murder location is still absolutely the more straightforward answer, but it does come with its issues. As stated, Fuuta's image would face some ambiguity, Mikoto's would face extreme ambiguity, Amane's seems to contradict the evidence we're shown in Purge March, Yuno's is wildly inconsistent with the other images, and Kotoko's is straight up nonsensical.
Meanwhile, death locations physically work with all the cases, even if Shidou's case is extremely weird, but it requires huge assumptions and stretches. It relies heavily on how impossible it is to disprove, which is not a good sign. Russell's Teapot, and all that.
Summary of the Theory
>Everyone in Milgram is dead, and their prisoner cards in Undercover show the place where they died.
>Prisoner's memories of the events leading up to their deaths are extremely fuzzy, explaining why only Yuno seems to even suspect it.

Conclusion
Do I believe this theory? Honestly, I don't know. It makes a few too many assumptions for me to fully believe it, but I do think it's a decent possibility, so I wanted to share it with you all. Also I didn't even touch on Es but you can try to fit them in somehow if you feel like it.

Eddie’s alive, just stuck in the Upside Down, but he doesn’t go to Dustin or Mike or Lucas—oh, no. And not even Steve, either, no matter how much he respects the dude.
Nah, Eddie traverses the woods of the Upside Down, knows where that old beat up truck sits that he and Wayne found a few months ago during season that they fixed up with the blessing of the landowner, and waits for his uncle there. 
Eddie’s trailer is fucked and he knows Wayne doesn’t have the money to afford a hotel room, so he sits in that truck in the woods, shivering and bleeding and singing songs to keep himself awake, and waits until Wayne turns it on.
And when he does in a few hours, Springsteen’s faintly heard and Eddie laughs because he loves his uncle, adores the man and he wishes he told him more of that when he had the chance, but he’s determined he’ll have more time later, he just has to get out of this hellish place first, and so he starts talking. 
It startles Wayne at first, swears and yells flying, and then there’s tears shared between them, so close and yet so far apart. Eddie explains what he can, pressing his hands into his wounds in hopes of slowing the bleeding, and he tells Wayne to hurry with an aborted, “I love you.” 
Wayne hurries. He fishes his rifle out from beneath his seat and thinks—about the kids who joined Eddie's club, about the band kid and the kid with the questions and the other kid, too, with soft brown eyes and a sad smile when he ducked his head in acknowledgment—and takes off. 
He finds Harrington’s house, knocks on the door until the kid comes running. He slings it wide, revealing himself and the band kid and Henderson, Wayne thinks, who's momma is sweet and kind at the diner, and says, “My nephew is alive. Let’s go get him.”
And he didn’t know what he expected from this kid—if he thought he’d get directions or what—but he’s surprised when Harrington nods, slips on some shoes, and follows him outside to his truck where Eddie's voice is still coming through the radio. 
Harrington says hi, a broken sort of thing, and promises they’re on the way, for him to just stay where he’s at, and Eddie giggles, says, “My knight in shining armor,” because he's always been romantic, and Harrington goes red and says, “Goddamn right I am,” and Wayne listens to Eddie's laughter the whole way to the portal that takes them to the other world. 
It's dark and ugly and dead, but they find Eddie fast. He’s bleeding out, blubbering as soon as he sees Wayne and Steve—“Call me Steve, please.”—and it takes both of them to carry Eddie up and out of that shithole dimension. 
They take him to the hospital, Eddie resting in Steve's arms the whole way, and as soon as Eddie's taken back and stabilized, Wayne and Steve collapse in the hallway. They’re quiet when they do it, but Steve's tears are hot and Wayne’s grip is tight and they hold one another close. They ask a nurse for an extra bed in Eddie's room; she’s reluctant but she does it anyway when Steve asks nicely. 
Wayne and Steve camp Eddie's room as he rests, talking quietly and getting to know one another better and sharing stories of Eddie. soon, Wayne passes out in the recliner—helps his back if he sleeps upright since those discs have been deteriorating—and wakes up a few hours later to see the extra bed unused.
Steve’s crawled up into Eddie's bed with him, nestled close and tight, and they’re both awake, faces turned toward one another as they giggle and whisper and chuckle, but Wayne can’t hear them and he thinks that’s okay. 
He rests some more, content to listen to the soft sounds of his boys—his boys, ‘cause Harrington is his now; a decision he made when he saw the darkness in the kid's eyes that reminds him so much of his own shit—lull him to sleep. 
That is, until one Dustin Henderson hears the news that Eddie's alive and safe and recovering. He causes a ruckus and a half, and the hospital staff is in shambles, and Wayne laughs because he might just have to make Dustin one of his own, too.

Persona 5 vs. Milgram: How One Story Succeeded at Portraying Teenage Sexuality Where the Other Failed

(Note: I am not personally a victim of abuse or ra**, so if I say something stupid here, please let me know. I am always open to criticism and I don't want to be an asshole.)

So this year I discovered both Persona 5 and Milgram, and I love both of them sososo much. I've infodumped about both of them for hours and overanalyzed the writing and symbolism both stories use to no end. Persona 5 Royal is probably my favorite piece of media I've ever seen. Milgram has brought me and my best friend closer together as we rant about our murderer blorbos and how well-written they all are together.
However, playing Persona, to me, is like the video game equivalent of watching a Shakespeare play. It's a masterclass narrative, very entertaining, and full of depth and symbolism to analyze, but it also has a bunch of misogyny that can really sour the mood sometimes. This seems to be a problem that the Persona series has had for a while judging from my experience playing P4 and what I've heard about other games, but in 5 it's like eating the most rich, satisfying cake you've ever had and then finding out some jackass poured pebbles into it. The way Persona 5 treats its female characters is by far my biggest problem with the game, with one problematic aspect in particular being its sexualization of the high school female cast, particularly Ann Takamaki.

Ann's storyline is mostly focused around her looks and how her appearance affects the way people treat her. At first, this plotline is taken in a promising direction. Because of her Caucasian ancestry, Ann faces slut-shaming and fetishization from most of her peers at school. In addition, Ann, along with many other girls in the school, is targeted by her abusive gym teacher, Kamoshida. It's not entirely clear how far his advances went with Ann specifically, but she is shown to face sexual harassment and coercion from Kamoshida onscreen, and Ann's best friend Shiho attempts suicide after being all but stated outright to have been raped by Kamoshida. So Ann is a victim of sexual abuse and a witness of her friend's abuse as well. There are plenty of interesting and thoughtful angles you could take with this story. You could show her reconnecting with Shiho and bonding over their shared trauma, with them going through the healing process together. You could show her being initially distrustful of the other Phantom Thieves until their bond grows stronger and she is able to feel safe around them. You could give her an arc about reclaiming her sexuality and taking back this part of herself that was used to hurt her.
What does the game do?
Barely fucking anything.
Ann gets little to no character development post-Kamoshida. Instead, her Confidant storyline is about her modeling career, with only one conversation where she sees Shiho again even acknowledging her past trauma. The game also continues to make her the Ms. Fanservice of the team, with constant gross jokes about her "hot bod" and the male characters being pervy around her. She keeps getting put in skimpy outfits and having to use her sex appeal to seduce enemies, as if the previous storyline never even happened.
For obvious reasons, I am very uncomfortable with any storyline that sexualizes minors, even if it's for a reason that serves the story. This is a general rule I apply to most media I consume. I'm considering completely skipping the Dancing in Starlight spinoff game because of the content I've heard it contains. And it's not just something I apply to Persona. I stopped listening to the song "Romeo and CInderella" by doriko despite really liking it musically because I was very uncomfortable with the story of the song. It's a problem I run into a lot when consuming Japanese media. However, I was thinking about this stuff a couple days ago, and I realized something. There is one specific piece of media I really like that shows a minor with sexual imagery that actually doesn't make me sick to my stomach. That is the song "Tear Drop" from DECO*27's music project Milgram.
(Note for Milgram fans: This part is based entirely off my interpretation of the offical English translation of the lyrics. I have not watched the voice dramas.)

"Tear Drop" is about a 17-year-old girl named Kashiki Yuno. The music video has several shots of her wearing lingerie, and the song approaches themes of innocence, sexuality, and relationships. Not only do I like the song, it's arguably my favorite song in the entirety of Milgram (although Backdraft also puts up a good fight for that title).
(Note from the future: I have been corrected. Yuno is actually 18.)
Why is it that I like "Tear Drop" despite depictions of sexualized teenagers usually making me uncomfortable? What sets apart Yuno's story from Ann's that makes it work?
(Note: I'm about to discuss a controversial aspect of Japanese culture as a mostly uninformed American. I may be about to say something stupid. If you're more knowledgeable about this subject than I am and you notice me saying something stupid, I am so sorry. Please tell me.)
In Yuno's first song, "Umbilical," it was heavily implied that she was involved in the Japanese enjo kōsai industry, which is often translated as "compensated dating." Taking the definition from Wikipedia (the most scholarly of sources), it is "the practice of older men giving money and/or luxury gifts to attractive young women for sexual favors." The song also implies that Yuno's "murder" (the premise of Milgram is that all of the prisoners the songs are about have killed someone) was an abortion.
So, Yuno was raped. I think that's quite clear. If you're a minor and you have sex with an adult, you were raped. No further clarification needed. Hopefully I don't need to argue that Yuno's abortion was justified either.
After the release of "Umbilical," Yuno was overwhelmingly voted innocent by Milgram's official poll. She garnered a huge amount of sympathy from everybody in the audience, and people expressed their sympathy for Yuno quite often. However, this rhetoric often took on quite a patronizing tone, like calling her "poor baby" or regretting that the circumstances of her life "forced" her into compensated dating to make ends meet (which, from what I understand, isn't quite how enjo kōsai works, but that's another discussion for someone who knows more about this stuff than me).
In Milgram, the prisoners canonically can hear what the audience is saying about them. And Yuno was not pleased.

"Tear Drop" seems to be almost entirely addressed towards the audience. In the image above, we see Yuno removing the metaphorical rose-colored lens from the audience to see the real her. The lyrics call out everyone who infantilized and looked down upon her, drawing similarities between the people she dated and the viewers. Here are some examples from the English translated lyrics: "'Poor naive little girl'? So off the mark, what's it to you? It's just absurd"
"Don't weigh me measure me against your morality Just shut it, will you? You know it all Feeling magnanimous? INNOCENT? I'm so not that Just shut it, will you? You know it all" "Caressing me with your 'Good girl' Who needs your self-righteous pardon?
I'm the one who chose, let you and you and you all in Happy or sad? Why decide? Where'd you get your half-baked sense of justice So nauseating...so creepy...will you please disappear"
Yuno is sick of everyone else making judgements about her and trampling over her own desires and wishes, and in this song she gives the middle finger to everyone who did so.
Generally, I am against portraying sexualized minors in media. However, I think it's important to realize that teenagers are not completely sexless beings. They have their own wants and desires, they want to be sexy, and it is important for them to have their own safe sexual exploration. And like it or not, sex has undoubtedly affected Yuno's life as a rape survivor. And unlike Persona with Ann, Milgram has the respect to not just pretend this part of Yuno's life never happened and allows her to be sexual on her own terms, instead of just pandering to the male gaze.
I grew up in the LDS Church. While I have not gone through anything on her level, I see parts of my own story in Yuno as someone whose sexuality was used to hurt me and who has coped with the trauma by redefining my sexuality as my own. I find "Tear Drop" incredibly inspiring, and I think that's what sets Milgram apart from Persona in its approach to teenage sexuality.

This is the second-to-final shot of Tear Drop. Her face is full of relief, with her clutching the jacket like a comforting blanket. Not everything she has faced is fixed now, and her teenage naivety is still clear in many of the lyrics. One song didn't melt all her trauma away. But she's getting there. She's making progress one step at a time. The final shot of the song is her pulling the jacket in, covering more of her body as she rests.
In Persona 5, Ann's sexuality is used to objectify her. In Milgram, Yuno's sexuality is used to empower her. That's what makes the difference.

I emerge from my grave to post a theory about MILGRAM
Hello hello everyone! I don't know how many of you will see this post due to my avoidance of social media these past years and thus my absolute ignorance about every possible change in this site.
ANYHOW let's get down to business.
I am going to write this post because I made my boyfriend (who does not use tumblr) catch up to MILGRAM's second trial and while I was teaching him about some fan theories he said something that I'm not sure I'll believe, but BOY isn't that interesting. So I thought it would be cool to share with other people and hear their thoughts.
Now, as the cool kids say, theory under the cut (?).
A necessary premise to do is that this theory is built on another one (that I can't find so please if you happen to have the link to the post, give it to me so that I can put it here!) that says Kotoko's murder is actually an indirect one.
If I recall correctly without missing anything important, this thesis exists due to Deep Cover being so vague about the murder and on a specific official picture, this one:

We can clearly see Haruka, Muu, Shido, Amane and Mikoto on one side and Yuno, Fuuta, Mahiru, Kazui and Kotoko on the other. Being that the first column murders are all direct (choking, cutterknife in the gut, dissection, crashing head with a mace/bat) and the second one's are all indirect (abortion, cyberbullying, toxic love, miscommunication), Kotoko being there could imply that hers too is an indirect murder.
I'm not fond on this theory tbh (just based on my guts and my perception of the girl), especially because here they're all just arranged to make a "snake" following their numbers (Haruka on the bottom left -> Yuno on the bottom right -> Fuuta besides her higher on the right -> back on the left side with Muu -> up left with Shidou... and so on, I hope the gist's clear skfvnfk). Surely there is a reason behind the "snake" arrangement given how MILGRAM is so keen on hidden details, but the direct/indirect murder thing? Not my two cents (but it'd be super cool to be proven wrong of course).
Another thing worth mentioning for the sake of this post is the very first (?) theory about MILGRAM, aka Es as the 11th prisoner. I don't want to be negative, but I'm not fond on this one either- that's just because it would be so predictable that, eh, it'd make me a bit sad.
SO, all this premise is to get to THIS POST's theory.
What if the real prison pairs are 0102, 0304, 0506, 0708, 0909 and 1011? Let me elaborate a bit.
Every couple from 0102 to 0708 has allegedly (MILGRAM may prove everything wrong of course) one indirect and one direct murder, fact. At the same time we all know that prisoner 09 is a system, so there are at least two people in there, one being "clueless" Mikoto, one being "violent" John (I'm putting it simply, I'm not symplifying everything due to disrespect, I swear).
So, theory is: what if Mikoto's system represents both direct and indirect murder, while Kotoko represents direct murder because Es (aka we) represesents the indirect one?
I've seen a theory stating that the real prisoner in Milgram is not Mikoto, not John (as we have seen in their first VD), but it's actually Midokoto (not elaborating because I'm pretty sure you're all aware of the threekoto theory). That'd be because even if John may be the one doing the killing (not considering it may very well be Mikoto himself tbf), Midokoto most likely is the gatekeeper of the system. That means HE is the one in charge of deciding the alter that fronts, thus letting John/Mikoto swap and, well, crash someone's head with a bat. Knowing Milgram as far as we've seen it, it's not absurd that it would consider Midokoto the "mastermind" of the action, having then the "culprit" of indirect murder and the one that phisically did it both in one body.
So then, Kotoko is very likely (at least in my opinion) to have killed in a very phisical way as well. We still don't really know her story nor her victim but, assuming it's not the CEO son she reads about nor the guy we see on the floor both in HARROW and Deep Cover, vigilantes usually take very direct actions as far as I know. It's easy for someone so blinded by their belief to take a step further and, well, overstep.
Es, on the other hand, is the guard of Milgram, but it's pristine they know... as much as the prisoners, basically? They hear Jackalope and all, yeah, but... they're still part of the experiment/whatever it is (so maybe this theory may work even if Es is not the 11th prisoner, as long as they're part of the experiment). The first trial ended substantially well if we think that everyone survived, but we know nothing about what will happen now that the second one has ended. Probably (hopefully) Kotoko won't be able to lash on the unforgiven prisoners, but what if Haruka manages to k*ll himself? That'd be a death "caused" by Es judgement... fulfilling the indirect murder requirement [and making everyone who ever voted a ~ murderer ~ (to Milgram's eyes, ofc)].
I don't know if any of this is plausible nor anything about Kotoko's murder, so it may very well be just something silly... but I thought it was super interesting, so I wanted to share it!

I have a TON of good recovery fics. Recovery fics are some of my favorite things to read! Especially really long ones where the character is recovering from a trauma. If you don't mind other fandoms I've got a ton of recovery fics to rec. Not a lot for Anthony Bridgerton or Mike Warren in terms of recovery fics for canon whump sadly. What I want non-jewish people to know
So I made a post about people being shit allies to jewish people. I decided that I’m gonna write about how they can improve bc well, this is my blog and I’d like to share my thoughts. Disclaimer: I am an ashkenazi jew, from eastern europe, living in central europe, so just keep that in mind while reading through this text. My experiences may be different from jews living in a different place.
First off, I think it’d be really helpful if we stopped equating goblins with jews. My views are that while they were probably a mockery of jews in the beginning of time, when people started telling tales and stories, today they are just common folklore characters. Same goes for witches, who make a mockery of old women. Also, I noticed that people come up with more and more “antisemitic” stuff about this new HP game. I think that being like “well thats actually jewish!! That too!! So many jewish things in this game!! Jews are everywhere!!” Is weird.
Don’t compare things to the Holocaust (or any other genocide). It is so so distasteful to equate the horrors of the Holocaust to things like women joking about “it’s either a girl or an abortion” or having to get certain vaccines.
Educate yourself on judaism. I am BEGGING you to read stuff about different topics and different opinions within jewish communities. Please please expand your circle if you are interested in being an ally. Some examples:
Messianic judaism and why a lot of jews find it harmful
Festivities, traditions
Israel - Palestine
The different branches of judaism, like orthodox, conservative, etc.
The Talmud, Kabbala, Torah, what exactly are they?
Stand up for us irl!!!! Being bold in the comments section is easy. A place where I faced a LOT of antisemitism was in school. For example, we went to concentration camp and half the class, even some of my friends, started making jokes with punchlines about gas. I really wished someone had atleast told me that they were there for me but the other half of the class was just silent. Internet activism like posting an infographic about the rates of antisemitic hatecrimes is not very helpful. It’s kind of silent. Calling out self-identifying nazis (surprisingly common in the country I live in) isn’t. Telling your jewish friends they can rant/vent to you about jewish issues too isn’t. Hosting a Hanukka party isn’t.
Cover/paint over/remove nazi symbols. In my country, they can be scribbled on walls, painted on walls and trains, stickers sticked on lamp posts. Also, if you find one in places like a dorm, you can reach out to the dorm’s office and ask them if they can do something about it. They can get it painted over and also send out an email regarding this. I think it’s important to signal that the office does not stand for this and will not be silent about it.

I HATE DRIVING THIS EARLY IN THE MORNING. My old and practically broken truck seems to be even louder when no one else is around. It smelt like leather in here, from my maneuver i'm assuming. It was way too early to be on the road. The polaroid picture Kyle gave me dangled from a loose string tied to my mirror, a small pile of empty Diet-coke cans and Sunny D bottles clang together on the floor of the passenger seat, filling more of the quietness along with the squeaking. When it came to being that my brother could finally drive, our parents were skeptical on what to do. We owned a nice car to give to one of us when we were ready, but the two of us couldn't share anything for shit. After a long 15 round game of rock paper scissors, I had lost the car. But my parents felt bad for me, so my dad gave me his old weed van, usually used for moving weed, that was now used for moving living room sets while I was accompanied by my childhood Garfield plush.
A loud sigh left my chest as I parked the car, taking a full 15 minutes to collect myself before walking to the entrance. I was surprised to see my brother’s girlfriend, and my close friend Wendy Testaburger standing at the door, protesting?
“All babies want to get borned! All babies want to get borned! All babies want to get borned!” She shouted, holding a sign up in the air, one I could tell she drew by the large cute eyes she gave to the baby.
“Hey, Wendy.” I greeted, smiling at the brunette as she lowered her sign.
“Oh, hi, Juno. How are you?” She said sweetly, giving me a kind smile, one that seemed to calm my nerves about being here. Wendy Testaburger was one of the kindest, most welcoming people I have ever met. I was relatively close with her ever since kindergarten, and happy that if my brother dated anyone it was her. She was wonderful, and never failed to make me feel important. And she wasn't judging me for being here of all places, you could tell she wasn't.
“You know, pretty solid. You’re a protestor now?” I asked, causing her to look down at her sign with a chuckle.
“Yeah well, PC principal said we could get extra credit protesting for a cause and well, you know how much I love babies..” she said awkwardly, not expecting to see a classmate during her protest.
“So did you write that paper for Worth's class yet?” I asked, and she nodded her head as she let her sign drop completely at her sides.
“No, not yet. I tried to work on it last night, but I'm having trouble concentrating.” she explained, making me nod.
“Oh, well, I'll give you some of my Adderall.” It's not like I'd be able to use it for a while anyway.
“No, thanks. I'm off pills.”
“That's a wise choice, because I knew this girl, she had this crazy freak-out… Because she took too many meds at once...And she just ripped off her clothes, dove into the fountain at Ridgedale Mall...And was like, "I am a kraken from the sea!"” I explained, chuckling at the memory as Wendy gave me a strange look.
“Juno, that was you…i was there..” she said softly, making me nod at the awkward silence before making my way inside.
“Well, it's good seeing you, Wendy. I’ll probably see you later at the house.” I said as I left, but Wendy didn't let up.
“Your baby probably has a beating heart, you know.” She shouted after me, causing me to sigh as I kept walking. “It can feel pain. And it has fingernails!” I stopped, turning to look at her with furrowed brows.
“Fingernails? Really?” I asked, not really directing it to her either, mostly just surprised at the revelation . I continued my way inside, being greeted by a strange looking girl sitting at the reception desk. Considering the knowledge I had gained from when Stan went goth, I think she was goth as well. She was adorned in black makeup, and as pale as snow, and had silver and black jewelry covering her body. Yuo, definitely a goth. Probably forced into this job by her parents, because she didn't seem to want to be there anymore than I did.
“Welcome to Women Now, where women are trusted friends. Please put your hands where I can see them and surrender any bombs.” She said in a low monotone voice, not once looking up at me from her computer.
“Hey, I'm here for the big show.” I joked, earning a glare from the receptionist.
“Your name, please?”
“Juno Marsh.” I said, handing her my printed paperwork from the previous night. She glanced at me with a raised eyebrow. She thinks I'm using a fake name, like Gene Simmons or Mother Teresa. SHe let her eyebrow fall back to its normal spot, before handing me even more paperwork to sign below my already printed paper.
“I need you to fill these out, and don't skip the hairy details. We need to know about every score and every sore.” She said, before gesturing to the jar full of individually wrapped condoms. Kinda like how hair salons have a jar of lollipops, the abortion clinic had condoms. It really helped with the scenery. “Would you like a free condom? They're boysenberry.”
“No, I'm off sex right now.” I replied, taking my paperwork. I don't think I'll ever be “on” sex again if I'm being honest.
“My boyfriend uses them every time we have intercourse.” she said with a smirk, finally looking up at me again. “They make his junk smell like pie.” I didn't look back at her, simply giving a look as I walked away, handing the paperwork in as I went to sit down.
I think this was the first time in a while I was aware of the fact that I was biting my fingernails. Fingernails. Damn you Wendy Testaburger. My eyes shifted back and forth around the room, the noise of nails scratching against magazines captivating my mind. I looked around at the other women, then at their fingernails, most of them being picked at or anxiously scratching against some kind of surface, and that's when I broke. I bolted for the door, ignoring any looks I may have received, and I ran for Kenny’s house not too far from the clinic. Wendy sent me a proud smile, shouting at me that she was proud of me before I ran out of her view.

“Dude, what are you doing here? I'm supposed to come get you at 4.” Kenny said, greeting me at the door, confused by my anxious pacing back and forth. I stopped, slapping my hands to my side as I looked up at him.
“I couldn't do it, Ken. It smelled like a dentist's office in there.” i began pacing again when Kenny came fully out of his house. “And there were horrible magazines with water stains. The receptionist tried to get me to take condoms that look like grape suckers… And just babbling away about her frigging boyfriend's pie balls.”
“Sick..” Kenny mumbled, making me roll my eyes as I stopped pacing. My eyes widened as I ran through the events in my head.
“And Wendy Testaburger was there. And she was like, "Oh, hi. Babies have fingernails." Fingernails!” I shouted, shoving my fingernails in his face, causing Kenny to push my hands down gently, pulling his hood off to address the seriousness of my outburst.
“That's gruesome. Do you think the baby can scratch your vag on the way out...?” Kenny teased, making scratching motions as I groaned, running my hands down my face. I take a moment to collect myself, before making direct eye contact with him.
“I'm staying pregnant, Kenny.” I grumbled, making Kenny look around, coming up to me and holding his hands over my mouth dramatically.
“Dude. You gotta keep your voice down, okay? My mom is inside. She doesn't know that we're sexually active.” He said anxiously, causing me to raise an eyebrow at him. Now since he's my best friend I can say this, but Kenny Mccormick is the biggest horndog on planet earth. He was getting blowjobs before I even knew what those were. I love him to death, he's my other half and all, but there was no way his mom didn't know she gave birth to a monster. He sighed at my questioning look.
“Okay, maybe she definitely knows I'm sexually active, but if she hears you she’s gonna wanna talk to me about it and I can't deal with that shit dude.” He whined, grabbing my arms and pulling me to follow him to the park nearby, to our spot.
“What does that even mean? I've been thinking. I was thinking I could have this baby and give it to someone that totally needs it. Like a woman with a bum ovary, or a couple nice lesbos. Maybe Big Gay Al and Mr Slave want a baby, they seem like they'd love a nice jewish redheaded child.” I said, and he gave me a look, his face scrunched up with disgust at the thought of me being pregnant.
“But then you're gonna get huge, and your chest is gonna milktate...And you're gonna have to, tell people that you're pregnant. And you won't be able to smoke for a while.” He explained, and I found it hard to argue, but still I tried.
“Maybe they'll canonize me for being so selfless.”
“Or maybe they'll, like, totally shit and be really, really mad...And not let you graduate or go to the Springs for spring break.” Somehow I had ended up hoisted on Kenny's back, getting a piggyback from the boy all the way to the park. I honestly don't know how he held my weight up sometimes, but Piggyback rides were just something we did.
“I was gonna go to the Rockies’s with Kyle anyway.” I said nonchalantly, not seeing the smirk that formed on Kenny’s lips at my words.
“You should look at adoption ads. I see them all the time in the PennySaver.” He offered, making me laugh slightly.
“They still make a newspaper?” He shook me, trying to get me to fall off his back before I giggled loudly, pulling myself back up.
“Shut up, you know I can't afford tv news.”
“They really have ads for parents?” I asked, and he nodded, detouring to grab a newspaper from the park entrance.
“Yeah. "Desperately Seeking Spawn." Right next to, terriers and iguanas and used fitness equipment and stuff. It's totally legit.” He took a newspaper, and carried us to our park bench, carefully dropping me onto it.
Somehow, after hours spent reading the newspaper, Kenny and I had ended up grabbing slushies from the convenient stand, exactly what we needed in the 20 degree Colorado weather. My legs were over his lap as we laid messily flipping through the news.
"Wholesome, spiritually wealthy couple have found true love with each other." All that's missing is your bastard.” Kenny read out loud, nudging me when he looked over at me laying my head back, not paying attention.
“I want a parakeet.” I mumbled, the sunglasses I was wearing being pulled from my face as Kenny tried to get my attention.
“You're totally not even listening to me.”
“No, I heard you. I don't wanna give the baby to a family...That describes themselves as wholesome.” I explained, taking a long swig from my slushie as Kenny sighed with defeat.
“Why?”
“I just want something a little edgier.” I explained, sitting up in my spot. Kenny kept scanning the newspaper.
“What did you have in mind exactly?”
“I was thinking more like a graphic designer, mid-thirties… With a cool Asian girlfriend who dresses awesome and rocks out on the bass” I explained, turning to see Kenny giving me a look that said ‘are you serious right now.’ I smiled at him, my now blue lips widening. “But I don't wanna be too particular.”
“Okay. How about this? "Educated, successful couple seeking infant...To join our family of five. You will be compensated. Help us complete the circle of love." That sounds great.” He seemed to hesitate on saying they were ‘great,’ and I can see why.
“They sound like a frigging cult. They already have three kids. They're just greedy little bitches.” I groaned, feeling the defeat of this search, wondering why I didn't just go to Unplanned parenthood and drop off my fetus for them to grow themselves.
“Juno, how about this one?” Kenny shoved my arm, a sense of excitement as he handed me the newspaper. They were Mark and Vanessa Loring...And they were beautiful even in black and white.

“Where the fuck have you been!?” Stan shouted, not allowing me a moment of peace. I swear the second the front door opened he was screaming. I do love my brother, he was quite literally me with a penis, but that didn't change the fact that I really hated him sometimes. The fact that our parents were out to dinner right now didn't help the volume of Stan’s screaming.
“Out.” I grumbled, placing my keys in the key holder before trying to walk away. I needed a drink, damn you alcohol blocking fetus.
“Right, of course. You were “out.”” Stan scoffed, making me roll my eyes as I turned to face him.
“What do you want, Stan?” I asked coldly, and he just sighed, taking a second to look at me. Then his eyes trailed down, and he looked at my stomach. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck…he knew. How the fuck did he know. God damn my life.
“I know okay? I saw the fucking papers on your bed.” He said, throwing the crumbled up abortion document at me. I wanted to cry, I could feel angry tears pricking at my eyes, and a burning bile forming on the back of my throat.
“You had no right, that was my fucking privacy! You just can’t mind your own damn business!” I shouted, pointing a shaky finger at him, trying desperately to hold back my tears.
“You got an abortion Juno! An abortion! Without telling anyone, do you understand how fucking insane that is!” He shouted back, and I sighed, trying to calm myself and Stan.
“Yes, I do and just listen to me okay I think that..” he interrupted.
“What the hell were you thinking!? What if mom found that paper, what if dad did!?” He continued shouting, his face turning a deep crimson as the oxygen was cut off due to all his screaming.
“I know I know, just listen to me…” He interrupted again.
“That’s so dangerous Juno, what if something happened, regardless of the fact you’re fucking pregnant, what if you got hurt?” He continued rambling, about to keep talking before I grabbed the napkin holder off the table, chucking it at him angrily. He ducked, letting the holder hit the wall as I began speaking.
“I didn’t get an abortion okay! Because your dumb girlfriend wouldn’t shut up about how my fetus has fingernails. Fingernails!” I shouted back at him, holding my hands out, before sighed and held a hand over my chest. “I'm sorry, you know I love Wendy I just, I don’t know what I’m gonna do.” Everything seemed to dawn on me at that moment. He still didn't know it was Kyle’s. He didn't know that a part of his best friend was growing inside of me right now, and he was already this angry. And this isn't even the worst of it all. I still had parents to tell, and classmates to find out, and a whole life that I used to have that was now gone. I couldn't help but feel my chest closing in.
“You are fucking insane you know that?” Stan hissed, and I simply rolled my eyes, holding a hand on my chest to keep back my panicked tears.
“Oh please, you’re a seventeen year old alcoholic, but I’m the crazy one.” I laughed bitterly, hunching over on the table as I heard Stan huff behind me.
“You’re seventeen too Juno, you’re fucking seventeen, and you’re pregnant! What are you even gonna do? This is beyond irresponsible, you’re never getting your life back after this!”
“God stan I know okay! I fucking know!” I shouted back, Stan staring back at me with empty eyes. “And, you yelling at me isn’t making it any fucking easier. I’m so scared shitless and I just, I need my brother. I need..” My breathing began picking up, as I knelt down to the ground, closing in on myself. It was like something clicked in Stan's mind, that I was still his sister. His baby sister, who was losing her breath on the ground.
“Hey, hey I’m sorry.” He said softly, kneeling down and pulling me into his chest. “I’m sorry. It’s okay Junebug, I’m right here.” he reassured, holding me close as I sobbed into his chest. I pulled away, sighing as I wiped my tears.
“I-i have a whole plan. Kenny and I found this couple, in the Penny saver. I’m gonna go and meet them, and hopefully give them the baby once it’s born. I just, I need your help telling mom and dad.” Stan nodded, pulling me back into his chest, his heart racing just as fast as mine.
“Of course Junebug, I’ll be there.”

Hey! I saw one of your comments on a post about The Hunger Games, specifically how Peeta pulls the baby card in Catching Fire. If you don't mind could you expand on "The hunger games is a commentary piece of America (I mean the reaping is literally on July 4th) and this is one of the biggest examples of that"? I want to understand that take better. And just out of curiosity, are you American? I'm just curious, and you've intrigued me so now I'm reading different theories and posts but since you're the one who got my interest I thought I'd reach out to you. Thank you!
I'm not american, although I feel like this applies to many countries (not just america), I just used american as an example in my comment as The Hunger Games is set in a post-american world.
Essentially, Peeta's usage of the "if it wasn't for the baby" is an interesting tactic to use in the interviews.
A baby. The Capitol is sending children to their murders for the sin of being a district born but a baby. That's where they draw the line, not even a born baby.
It is similar to how in the abortion arguments, the Pro-Life's go on rants about the importance of life and protection of a baby. A baby who after their birth, is tossed aside to fend for themselves. A baby who's government doesn't fund the care systems (education, medical, adoption etc).
It's very easy to see the correlation between The Capitol caring for Katniss' unborn baby's life but not her in terms of sending her to the games, and how Pro-Lifers care for the mother's unborn baby's life but not the mother when running the world.
Interestingly, Peeta's interviews have always been a call out for the Capitol , whether intentional or not.
His first one where he proclaims his love for Katniss, The Capitol says that they are 'tragic' and how 'perfect' the two are, despite being the reason for their tragedy.
It's similar to how people (celebrities, politicians, influencers etc) use tragedy and oppression as a way to gain power, money and influence/'clout' but actively do nothing to help fix the issues they're 'bringing awareness to'
This can be as simple as those "share this story! I can see who skips" Instagram stories that do nothing to actually help the issue to extremities of a politician using a woman's issue to demonize another oppressed group, causing infighting, so that they seem like the kindhearted people/s compared to the group.
And of course the second interview that I've spoken about above. As a non-american, I find The Hunger Games fascinating with how the society of Panem mirrors our own.
And of course, if there's anything I've gotten wrong as I am just a non-american teenagers who's interested in The Hunger Games, literature and politics, so if I've gotten something incorrect, please tell me.

A few days ago, I blazed a post about the SCOTUS threat to ICWA. Today I want to share one of the stories at the center of the case.
To recap for anyone unaware of the situation. From America's early years, it kidnapped indigenoua children and forced them into boarding schools where they would be abused and forcily assimilated into Anglo-European culture, and some were even murdered. Some children were kidnapped and then given to White families to adopt. The explicit goal of this, which can be found stated in numerous documents by the people who did this, was to destroy Native American and Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian cultures. This lasted into the 1970s. Therr are survivors of this period alive today.
To combat it, the Indian Child Welfare Act was passed, which gives Native American and Alaska Native tribes control over the foster care placement of the tribes' children.
But now, ICWA is being challenged. Here's an article about one of the cases.
Robyn Bradshaw, a boarding school survivor, helped raise her grandaughter. When her daughter struggled with substance use disorder, Robyn took custody. But due to treatment costs, the family lost their home. They stayed with friends for a while, but Robyn was able to find a new home for them. But she needed to finalize the arrangements, so she left her grandchild with her father.
The father disappeared with her while Robyn was trying to secure a good home for her grandchild. He committed a drug offense, and her grandchild was taken into foster care.
When Robyn tried to pick her grandchild up, the state refused. They moved the child through seven different foster homes over 2 years, despite the fact that she had a grandmother who loved her and wanted her back so badly she attendes every single court hearing.
"The reason for Bradshaw’s disqualification? A 15-year-old felony conviction for receipt of stolen property. No one informed Bradshaw that she could have had the record cleared, court filings show.
"Ultimately, Bradshaw did clear her record. But not before the “error led to considerable and unnecessary trauma,” according to records filed to the Minnesota trial courts."
Ultimately, Bradshaw was able to regain custody, and multiple courts have decided that her grandchild has a deep bond with her grandmother, but the Cliffords (the grandchild's former foster family is fighting for control.
Did Bradshaw make mistakes in her past? Yes. Should she have trusted the father. We don't know. We don't know how much she knew of him. But she has done nothing that should bar her from custody.
The decision should be up to the tribe, not thr SCOTUS. In addition to ICWA, Native American and Alaska Native tribes are sovereign nations. If the government of Scotland came and told a US grandmother to give up her grandchild, the US government would not take that kindly.

Hello, I am very excited for your book. However, since I have some things I Can't Read™, I wanted to ask if there will be some way to learn about potential triggers beforehand. I usually use does the dog die /the warnings section on story graph, but that only works if people already filled them in and I'd love to get your book as soon as it's released.
So, my question is, will there be a list of trigger /content warnings somewhere prior to release?

Hi, and thank you so much for this ask! Saints of Storm and Sorrow deals with some heavy topics in what I hope is a thoughtful and impactful but non-gratuitous way. I actually originally sent all my queries and full requests to Agents and Editors with a list of Content Warnings. The ARCs also have content warnings printed inside. However I don't believe the first printings plan to have CWs so I've been meaning to get a list of the CWs up on my website. I'll also go ahead and share it here. I actually have never been on Story Graph but I need to fix that and get more familiar. Manuscript Content Warnings: On page portrayal of colonization which includes sexism, racism and homophobia as well as emotional abuse. On page violence/murder, natural disasters, abortion, self-harm, torture, consensual sex. Mention of/off page: child abuse/pedophilia, genocide, suicide.
Happy to answer any additional questions about Saints, and thank you for your interest in my story! If Saints will have to be a pass I completely understand. It’s a long post so read under the line.
“pro-birth” is a reference to the insult that pro-choicers use against pro-lifers. Birth is not dirty, inherently dangerous, or a tool of the patriarchy, and I am sick of pro-aborts misusing birth and abortion mortality statistics to push their child killing agenda. Expect a lot of that fact checking here. You can learn more through my #research, #abortion research, #abortion safety, #birth, #birth research, #women’s health, and other tags.
I also use “pro-birth” because despite my involvement with other justice movements, I believe that people are allowed to only care about abortion. Child killing, in itself, is a human rights violation worthy of its own cause and does not need to be co-opted by people with “born-privilege.” So long as anti-abortion advocates are self-aware of their limited scope of justice work, it doesn’t bother me at all. We all have our niche and that’s completely OKAY.
I am a fertility doula with ten years of experience with teaching and peer support, and have also studied midwifery (not practicing nor able to, however). My specialty is in perinatal nutrition but I have also researched a lot into the social factors of women and children’s health. I have learned from religious and secular, pro-choice and pro-life sectors, so as to get a well-rounded view of how people approach these topics.
I talk about personal details of my life from time to time as it pertains to my experience as a woman, mother, and sister to an aborted sibling, but I won’t share more than that. This information pertains to and affects other family members/friends and I want to respect that while still sharing my story as I feel is appropriate.
I may respond and block/report, but otherwise I do not initiate dialogue with pro-choicers nor do I owe them an explanation for anything. They are free to follow and read, I just won’t interact much unless someone gets uppity and I block. Don’t get shocked if I get bitchy either, the same people who support abortion are the same people who would have encouraged my mother to abort me. Like I said: I don’t owe them anything. Get used to it.
No, I don’t hate post-abortive women. If you have difficult emotions or trauma relating to your abortion, please look into my tags to learn about resources available to you. I don’t care if you are pro-life, pro-choice, or on the fence: you need and deserve psychological support that doesn’t gaslight you about your trauma. If you’re just here to brag about your abortions (real or otherwise) then you are blocked; self-destructive behaviors are not tolerated here.
I am critical of many ideologies, including: radfems, TRAs, radtrads, hardline conservatism, and progressivism. With that said I have friends and get along with people from various backgrounds. I don’t mind working with others of differing beliefs, I just don’t support/adhere to their underlying philosophy.
Politically speaking I am moderate. I am not a passive middle grounder who tolerates hate, I just find that each political ideology has it’s flaws and causes people to place said ideology over logic and experience. No one is safe from criticism. If you’re gonna spew centrist/moderate hate you get blocked.
I am also critical of the official mainstream pro-life movement due to numerous harmful scandals involving Abby Johnson and other speakers who get away with their toxic bs. I try to highlight the other great organizations and advocates as much as I can. Some resources may still be associated with said toxic people, so take it with a grain of salt to decide if it is right for you to pursue.
With that said, I used to be active in the PLM and did in-person volunteer work in my community. These days I mostly post online, share info where I can, and make donations. Health issues compounding family commitment limits what I can do, though I hope to do more if/when my health improves.
I mostly post about pro-life stuff in general, though I will also discuss other human rights and equity topics as I see fit. These include: right to self defense; racial justice; birth and other forms of reproductive health justice that is not pro-abortion; disability rights; etc. With that said, I am aware of the limitations of these self-described movements and groups, I use the language people know and work with others on common ground issues.
Not a feminist but not an anti either; I work a lot with them on common ground issues despite disagreeing on some points and I have a lot of issues with various branches of feminism/their history. With that said, if I had to use a term, I prefer “women’s welfare activist.”
I’m religious, but I was pro-life before I was ever devout/settled on a belief system. My church growing up never discussed abortion and I had to inform myself through secular organizations before deciding to involve myself in PLM work. Funnily enough, I first joined secular pro-life feminist groups before dropping the label of feminist and branching out from there. I won’t normally discuss religion on this blog because of this, but also because I am sick of pro-aborts claiming religion supports their stance while turning around to screech “NO ROSARIES ON MY OVARIES.” If you need abusive philosophy and hypocrisy to defend a heinous act then I will play by better rules.

Shang Qinghua was living within a story of his own creation and not at the same time.
The original Proud Immortal Demon Way stretched across centuries of time, his dear son Luo Binghe amassing a gargantuan harem and siring a horde of children. So technically, six years after the events of maigu ridge, he was well within the confides of the story. But things had changed, drastically in fact. Luo Binghe married only one person, all of the Qing Jing peak lords survived, and several characters he never added to the official story walked among them. He had no more idea where this much altered story was headed than anyone else, including Shen Qingqiu.
After Mobei Jun's ascension and Shang Qinghua's aborted exit from the world, his life changed. They reconciled, developed what Shang Qinghua thought was a more harmonious, nonviolent working relationship. Unbeknownst to him, Mobei Jun had initiated a lengthy attempt at courtship. They danced around each other for a few more years, Shang Qinghua at first unwilling to accept the truth then hesitant to commit. He wanted to be with Mobei Jun—much to his surprise—but he didn't necessarily jump at the chance to be recognized as the demon king of the north's consort.
He woke in this world as an infant and floated through this new life with a sense of detachment. He was present enough to ensure his survival, cling to whatever thigh he needed to achieve that, but now… He chose to be here, abandoned his original life for this place. For Mobei Jun – though he wouldn't admit that for a while.
The transition from the role he was designated to play, from mere survival to living a life with someone else, was terrifying. He had no guidelines or parameters. He didn't know the consequences. The system remained offline since he declined the option to leave.
In the end, Mobei Jun had grabbed both his hands, knelt before him at their bedside, his towering frame now meeting him eye to eye.
"The kingdom knows what you mean to me. I would have you take your rightful place at my side."
"My king," Shang Qinghua started nervously, "I'm by your side each day."
"As a servant, as an advisor."
Shang Qinghua squirmed in Mobei Jun's hold, under his intense gaze. "Isn't that enough?"
Mobei Jun's answer was quick and resolute: "No."
"M-my king, I'm, I'm not a woman–"
"Lord Luo has not taken a woman as his official consort."
Laughter bubbled out of Shang Qinghua at that irrefutable truth, feeling hysterical. "Yes, yes. But! I don't have the parts to, um, continue your line either."
Mobei Jun raised his eyebrow a millimeter or two, which for him was the equivalent of noticeably quirking it. "I am well aware."
Color rose in Shang Qinghua's cheeks as he glanced down at the bed they shared for the past couple years.
"What about heirs?"
"Do you believe I'd die and leave you anytime soon?"
Shang Qinghua didn't know how to handle such a forthright Mobei Jun.
Not known for his patience, Mobei Jun had resorted to threats and, failing that approach, even attempted negotiating what terms Shang Qinghua needed to accept his offer of marriage. Shang Qinghua rebuffed him each time, on occasion manufacturing some emergency back on an ding peak and hiding there for a few weeks. Mobei Jun's new tactic of emotional openness was the last thing Shang Qinghua would have expected. Or know how defend against.
They had never put words to the thing between them, no declarations or confessions. It was simply understood that their feelings were the same. But Mobei Jun seemed determined to define it, officially, for all to see.
What else could Shang Qinghua do but do as his king, his perfect man, wants?
"I'm not wearing jewelry! All that cold metal and stone, it'll stick to my skin."
Mobei Jun surged forward, cupping Shang Qinghua's round face in his massive clawed hands to kiss his future consort like he wished to devour him.
