For people who live in the U.S., November can bring to mind a lot of things, and one of them is Thanksgiving. This can be a complicated holiday because while most people just see it as an excuse to get together with friends and family and pig out, we all know that the story of the "First Thanksgiving" is bullshit.

This November, and for as long as it takes, I'm asking you to keep Native American and Alaska Native rights in mind and to fight for them. ICWA, the Indian Child Welfare Act, is at risk.

This act was created to stop cultural genocide. Until the late 1900s, Native American and Alaska Native children were routinely kidnapped and placed in residential schools and white families, where they faced abuse, forced assimilation, and sometimes murder. ICWA was passed in 1978 to stop this by allowing tribes to control the foster and adoption placement of Native American and Alaska Native children.

However, today, the SCOTUS started hearing arguments in a case that could overturn ICWA. This would not only endanger children and allow cultural genocide, but it would endanger tribal sovereignty since it would deny sovereign tribes the rights over the placement of their own children.

This November, this Thanksgiving, and until ICWA has been upheld, I ask you to stand up for the rights of Native Americans and Alaska Natives.

Spread the word about what is happening. Don't let this get swept under the rug. Post about it. Tell your friends and family.

Sign petitions.

Write to representatives.

Reach out to local tribes to see what you can do to help.

Protest.

And if you can afford to do so, donate to Native American and Alaska Native organizations.

Had dark brown hair

Was 25 to 30

Was possibly Southeast Asian

Wore a Loren Scott blue shirt, Venezia brand black pants, white/multi-colored blouse with floral pattern, and Woodbridge brand slip on shoes, size 6 1/2. Shoes only worn a few days.

Had a pearl ring with solver setting, size 6, sold by Avon during the winter of 1981. Had a gold earring with 5 blue sapphires, French post style, possibly Asian.

Hey guys, update on my housing situation!

My family and I are still homeless and in our RV, we are on the waiting list for affordable rent-controlled housing that we can afford as a family of four on disability, but the demand vastly outweighs the supply and they use a raffle system weighted by how long you’ve been on the list and a few other factors, and my parents are expecting it could take us up to a year to get in. In the meantime, our RV currently doesn’t have running water or electricity, and now that we finally finished getting our belongings into storage we got the generator looked at and it turns out it is COOKED and needs full replacing, as well as much wiring needing to be redone because of water damage from leaks. We are barely floating by with disability money covering current bills, storage unit, gas and food, so I spoke with my dad about the expected expenses and to add up the costs of the products he was looking at and estimates it could cost us about $2400, but that’s WAY more than we can afford on our own so I’m asking again, if you can share this post or even toss some money big or small at us keeping a roof over our heads and getting our fridge running so we’re not constantly fretting about food going bad overnight if the RV gets too warm haha.

hi you might remember me from such hits as "tomorrow and my birthday and i don't have food". i've made different donation posts at different times and then deleted them out of guilt but life is coming to a point where i really can't let the guilt make me do that and i need to just. continually ask for support.

putting it short: i'm trans, physically disabled and mentally ill. i haven't had a job in almost 2 years now despite applying to places all the time. being denied food/benefits is traumatizing me and making me unable to do commissions for money. i've been screwed over by food stamps multiple times in the past two years with them doing stuff like not sending letters to the correct address and then cutting off my benefits with no notice ever reaching me. i'm. exhausted. i've never been at such a low point in my entire life and i really just need some fucking *help*. so.

here's an ongoing survival fund. i'm aiming for $120 each month. that would cover my rent*, my mandatory renter's insurance that i get evicted if i don't pay for, grocery delivery, and part of other bills

Hey, so I've never done ANY sort of post like this before, but recently the person in my life that provided health insurance just lost their job that provided them said health insurance, and they are also the only person who brought income to the home so we could actually afford things, so currently things aren't looking great.

I want to get on my state's health plan, but it requires A LOT of money upfront. Like, about $380 the first month and $270 for every month after that kind of a lot. I don't have a job at the moment, and finding one has been a real pain in the ass. So please, if you can afford to, I would really appreciate it if anyone helped me get some cash while I look for a job. Had high cheek bones

Had a tattoo with an S in it on her left chest

Was estimated to be 5 feet tall and weigh 115 pounds

Need help affording my testosterone!!

I hate making posts like these but I'm currently on government support (EI in Canada) for medical reasons, I was currently diagnosed with fibromyalgia and my doctor has sent me to a cardiologist because my heart rate raises to 150-170 if I move to fast or go up the stairs to fast my heart is fine thankfully but they think I'm dealing with POTS but I'm still waiting for a call from healthy heart to make an appointment for those tests

I found out the other day my testosterone is almost empty and I'm not sure if my payment will be here in time for Tuesday or not
