I’m sorry to disappoint but there are none because all of them are bad😭 yes there were memorable cases but in a negative sense. I’ll just tell one of those: TW graphic stuff, gore-ish

We were doing basic transports that day and we had a guy who’s lower leg was basically just rotting flesh and bones. 9 months prior he had injured his lower legs. He got bandages on the wounds and was discharged from the hospital. A week prior to our transport he called an ambulance because of a headache. The paramedics arrived and saw that he literally hadn’t taken those bandages ever off, they were on his legs for 9 months, never changed. Obviously, it got infected and well…wet gangrene (if thats the english term) was the end result. This did not bother the man at all, it hurt and he wasn’t able to move without pain, basically couldn’t walk but he did not care and as I said, he called because of a headache. Paramedics brought him in and a week later, it was my and my team’s job to bring him home. He had new bandages, he still couldn’t walk and lord, the smell. We brought him to his house and well you can guess what it was like. The walls were just mold, no actual wall to be seen and hoarded items everywhere + awful cigarette smell. Worst patient of my life, he was mean to us too. I do have empathy for hoarders but it was just a lot to take in. I felt bad leaving him there because I wasn’t sure if he’d change the bandages this time. But there wasn’t anything I could do except try to talk to him. That annoyed him so we left. Yeah, that’s about it. Very memorable and I’ll never complain of someone smelling of pee or poo or vomit cause wet gangrene is so much worse.
