I have one hydrahusbands headcanon where Brock is the one who likes to cook and Jack is the one who loves to bake, especially Jack will wear silly aprons and he‘s very particular about his frosting.

Jack will also present fairy sprinkle cupcakes with a murderous face but he‘s actually just nervous, but he learned to cover that up by looking murderous and hopes you’ll like the cupcakes.

He also stress bakes and usually donates the extra cake to charities or homeless shelters, sometimes the neighbors. The Strike Team doesn‘t know he bakes.

Jack was curling a lock of Brock’s hair around his index finger. It was short, he could barely wrap it around his finger twice, but it was soft and clean and Brock. With a sigh Jack slowly pulled his finger away only to gently tussle Brock’s hair before he went back to stroking over his head absent minded.

The two of them were still laying outside, on Jack’s rooftop, watching the stars. It was a clear night. Warm and comfortable, with a soft wind cooling them down.

Brock’s head was laying in Jack’s lap and Jack’s jacket was laying over Brock’s shoulders. It was way too big for him. It made a good blanket.

Jack snorted softly then ran one hand down the curve of Brock’s back.

He sighed relaxed and cuddled a little closer against Jack whose cheeks suddenly felt a little bit warmer than before.

“Jackie?”

“Mhm?” Jack replied. His mouth felt dry. He felt like a stranger to himself. Like he didn’t know what he was doing.

“I love you.”

Jack blinked. His hand on Brock’s back stopped for a moment before he had collected himself and continued to stroke up his spine again.

He didn’t say anything.

His throat was tight.

Brock exhaled again, pulled Jack’s jacket a little tighter around himself and then caught Jack’s hand in his. He held it in his.

Brock’s hand was warm. Calloused, a little rough. Dry.

Their fingers were loosely intertwined.

“I-“ Jack stopped. His mind was going blank.

“I mean it. I do. Jackie.”

Brock fell asleep. Quick and quietly. And only when Jack had carried him to bed, had carefully put a blanket over him and slid under the covers next to him, as well, Jack took Brock’s hand again to place the lightest kiss on his knuckles.

“And I love you,” he whispered into the dark.

Hello everyone! I decided to create this account separately from my main ( @rip1009) because I wanted for a long time now to attempt to bring to the fans some small events and keep the fun going for us #hydrahusbands fans.

Soooo....

Here is my first ever try at this, a summer fun event!

Hydra Husbands Summer Event 2023

What is it about?

Starting with June 20, 2023 until September 1, 2023, we let our imagination flow and use the summer with vacation, fun and mayham as inspiration for writing stories, fanfiction, drawings, comic panels, music videos, edits, meta, playlist, poems, manips, AUs, incorrect quotes, any kind of creation we love and can create.

You can post the content on Tumblr and use the tag #hydrahusbandssummer2023 and/or tag @hydra-husbands

You can also submit the work as anonymous if you wish so.

For all kind of questions feel free to inbox me here or on @rip1009

Some guiding lines that might help :)

What content doesn't fit the event?

Any content in which the main ship (aka Hydra Husbands) isn't the main ship.

2. Can I write HTP?

You can, just tag the work accordingly.

3. Can I write in my main language?

Yes, go for it!

4. How long does the fic has to be?

As long as you want to. We're here to have fun and not to stress. There's no minimum or maximum words or chapters.

5. I have an old story fitting the event, can I post it?

As long it wasn't posted before somewhere else, go for it.

6. I found a story and it fits the event and I want to translate it. Can I?

First and foremost, get in contact with the author of that story and discuss about it, ask for permission.

7. What can I write, draw, compose about, what's the theme?

Our theme is summer, summer vacation, summer shenanigans, summer love, summer flirt. Summer fun.

8. Can I participate with more than one creation?

Absolutely, if you can and have time and inspiration, go for it.

What is HydraHusbands love language to each other?

Thanks for the ask!!!

In the beginning I can see Brock’s primary love language being sex. He’s not ready for any emotional intimacy and is content to show that he cares for Jack by blowing out his back at a moment’s notice. Jack, on the other hand, showers Brock with praise and compliments, really flattering his vanity bc he can sense that Brock craves approval from those around him.

But when they get closer Brock starts to cook for him. Dishes he’d seen Jack ordering in restaurants when they went on Brock-demanded DL dates. Jack starts to buy Brock little trinkets of affection of things he sees in his daily they make him think about him. I imagine this escalates into him bringing a little knickknack home from out of country ops, even if Brock had already visited the county. And Brock complains but he treasures them and Jack is always greeted to the sight of them on the shelves that Jack had put together back when they were just friendly coworkers.

Jack eventually settles into regular “I love you” confessions and Brock at first just smiles, thanks him, grows to finally say “same” and it’s not until after their one year anniversary, in the heat of sex, that he says the words himself. And from there Brock isn’t as freely given with the admission as Jack is but he says it. Brock shows his affection by mercilessly defending Jack with his life. He turns into his little guard dog when turns out to be more work for Jack bc he always has to reign him in, lest Brock tackle some middle-aged Karen who took the last cart bc the one she just grabbed squeaked. But Jack knows that it’s his way of showing love, so he just chuckles while he handles his rage.

From there it’s codependency; Jack craves Brock and Brock craves Jack. Their love language is words (privately) and actions (publicly).

I live! Stressful time at work, caught the plague exactly for my birthday (yeah, I was so pissed) and trying to make it through a very secret project. But I'm gonna write!!

And leaving this to you~

Hydra husbands, Some bad guy (or the good ones, considering the ship) manage to get hands on Jack, kidnap him and all that, maybe trying to get infos. Not realizing that Brock, and most of STRIKE will go bloody ballistic on them to get him back. Jack knows, he knows they'll come. He hopes... Cause they will, won't they?

The world was swimming in silhouettes in front of Jack’s eyes. Blood loss, dehydration, the list was long. They had gotten him. And now he was paying the price for that.

He knew Brock would come. He knew he would.

He didn’t know how much time had passed. He couldn’t say. There had been no meals. Just water in a bowl, shoved into his cell. It was dark inside. No light, nothing. Jack wasn’t afraid of the dark.

Jack doubled over and threw up what little water was in his stomach. The smell of vomit and piss strong in his nose. It must’ve been a few days now, at least. He was shaking. He was not afraid of the dark.

Then they opened the door and there was a ray of light. They dragged him along, his hands bound behind his back. Everything was too bright.

He didn’t talk when they asked him to. The food they brought, it made tears spring to his eyes, but he didn’t talk. Brock would come.

When they brought him back they didn’t untie him. His hands uselessly strapped behind him, they threw him back into his cell and his heartrate picked up. He wasn’t afraid of the dark.

He stumbled and tripped over, falling, falling, falling. He passed out.

When he woke up his face hurt, his nose hurt. He was still tied. He creeped to his bowl of water. Drinking from it, like a dog.

No one saw the tears he spilled, when he laid down, panting with salvia and water dripping from his chin.

They left him like this. He shit his pants, pissed in them, unable to get them off. He wasn’t afraid of the dark but he was of hell.

They fed him, made him open his mouth like a filthy animal, they patted his head, called him names.

When they came and gripped him under his arms, carrying him out, he didn’t open his eyes. He couldn’t take it.

They threw him in a room, sprayed ice cold water all over him. His lungs felt like they were collapsing. Squeezing together and leaving him gasping and shaking on the wet tiles. They wouldn’t stop and he wouldn’t talk. When he woke up, he was naked. It was dark.

Brock would come.

He sobbed and lapped up some of the water from his bowl before he curled up to a ball on the hard floor.

Everything was too loud. Loud, loud, loud. Jack shook his head. Erratic, haunted.

The door opened. And people stormed his cell.

People were yelling, people were directing their flashlights to him. He screamed, trashed, everything too much, too loud. And still, arms gripped him, dragged him along, outside. His feet scratched over the floor. Cracking open.

He felt something warm wrapped around himself, straps holding him upright and Brock. He heard him, yelling commands and then, right there, Jack sobbed again. Brock had come for him. Brock had come.
