Hunter's never been one to talk things through, hell, none of them have been really, except maybe Wolf if he can speak in limericks and haikus, and Ryan if you twist his arm. But Elliot prefers to swallow his feeling and Hunter seems to prefer to let them loose on everyone in vicinity, which is why Elliot seeks neutral ground today. He's talked to Rory and now he finds himself at Hunter's place of work. He's not sure how he's kept his job considering the beef between him and Halo but he's glad that his brother's got an outlet for the fury that seems to flow through is veins. They've all got a bit of Jeff in them but he knows that Hunter struggles with it most – the rage that their father bestowed upon them all showing up most in his older brother.

Maybe it's why Elliot feels understands Hunter most, because he feels a similar chaos simmering beneath his skin. Except he refuses to let it out. And maybe he'd feel better if he did as Hunter, feeling things in the moment and moving on, but the thought of letting go of the grip he has on himself is overwhelming at best, catastrophic at worst. So Elliot keeps his thoughts to himself, mostly, and looks out for his brothers' different cues as best he can. He'd been disappointed by the outcome of yesterday, mostly because he felt partially responsible, that Hunter's actions were taken because of him. For him. But there's gotta be a line, and he knows he's one of the few people who can draw it so Hunter acknowledges it.

"I got next," Elliot says as Hunter finishes up with someone in the ring. He pauses, already slipping off his shoes, "unless you're still feeling worn out from your fight with JJ?" he goads to interject some levity, knowing full well that was two weeks ago at this point. It's his way of letting Hunter know he's not there to fight...at least not in the way they had yesterday. Though, that didn't seem like a fight so much as an unfortunate end to the day. @manybcdthings

your eyes slowly fluttered open when the sound of your ringtone starts blaring through your room. groaning a bit, you grab your phone off the charger and answer the call without even checking who it is.

"hello?.." your voice was raspy and low from just waking up, but you don't even think you're even fully awake right now.

"hi y/n- wait, did you just wake up? do you know what time it is?" lumines worried voice wavers through your phones speaker, you quickly take notice of the background noise that indicates that she's currently driving.

"uhuh.. It's like, eleven." you answer

"no, silly, it's 3:30pm" you hear a soft chuckle come through your phone.

a quick 'oh' dumbly leaves your mouth before you go quiet for a moment, you don't even remember what time you went to bed last night.

"... did you stay up looking at those posts?"

to say no would mean you were lying to her. you just couldn't help it, the amount of hate you got in the past not even 24 hours was just to hard not to look at. maybe you should of stayed ignorant because all you remember is going to bed with 20 new insecurities.

lumine takes your deafening silence as a yes and sighs "n/n, please try to stay away from your socials- actually, stay away from your phone for the next few days. its the best you can do for your mental health."

"but how am I gonna finish hunter x hunter...?" you jokingly whine

"you have a computer and a tv, you're more than able to finish your show." lumine corrects you.

"I guess..."

you can't see it but she rolls her eyes at your childish whining before replying "I'm on my way back to campus, I went to the store and I have some of your favorites with me right now. I'll be over in like 20 minutes and we can watch hunter x hunter together, okay?" she comforts, she was always good at doing that.

"aw."

after finishing your conversation with lumine and the call ends, you immediately notice the hundreds of notifications overflowing on your lockscreen.

I wanted to share a translation of an excerpt from this Hunter x Hunter Characters Book, published in 2001.

Translation:

A Day in the Life of Killua

My own big prediction!

Although he has lived a life soaked in blood, Killua is probably no different from a normal 12-year-old. Let’s take a closer look at the life of Killua, who says he loves sweets!

10:00 Wake up

11:00 Gon arrives.

While I was dozing off in the morning, I hear Gon's voice inviting me to play with him. I’m embarrassed for some reason, so I hit him without thinking.

12:00 Play with Gon

14:00 Lunch

We have lunch while wandering around town. I feel it’s more fun to eat outside than in a restaurant.

15:00 Snack

16:00 Play some more

17:00 Discover Illumi.

While I was making a pit trap to trick Gon, somehow I found Illumi. I dash away like I'm about to die, and calm myself down.

17:05 Buy Chocobo

19:00 Dinner

20:00 Go to Gon's room

22:00 Go to bed in Gon's room

While talking with Gon about what we did in town, it gets to be late at night. It’s too much trouble to go back to my room, so I go to bed next to Gon.

A word from Killua

ゴンと街で遊んだことを話合っているうちに、深夜に突入。自分の部屋に戻るが面倒なので、そのままゴンの隣で就寝。

ぜんっぜん，ちげぇーよ！なんでずっとおかしばっかり食べてんだよ。それにどんな意味があって、庭にイルミ兄が埋まってるんだ？バカにしてるだろ！？

Another thing I want to note about this book is that it has a full story in it, which you can find translated here! It's an interesting read in general--it's based off episode 46 of the 1999 anime, which deviates from the manga and has its own original story, and this story then expands upon that original story. One thing I think is especially interesting is the story starts off with Gon and Killua sleeping in the same bed, so this book makes two separate mentions of that being something they do, which is cute. ❤️

While Togashi didn't write the story himself or likely the contents of this book, he did write an afterword to it, so I'm guessing he must have at the very least read it over and approved of the contents before it was published, and it's certainly possible he had more involvement than that as well. Take the canon status of it all with a grain of salt, I'd say it's more semi-canon/a different version of canon than 100% canon to the manga (similar to how I consider the 1999 anime additions/changes as well), but it's interesting nonetheless and fun as far as shipping fuel goes!
