yes house md as a show is outlandish and insane. house is literally a truman show of his own show. background characters are made out of cardboard, the walls are glass, he is just allowed to bully patients and his coworkers for funzies. but like there is also a deeply realistic element to house as a character. his actions are in line with his life, his backstory, and with his predicament. his chronic pain which lead to an opioid addiction, his childhood trauma, his trust issues that have definitely been shattered throughout his life leading to his cynicism, his refusal to seek mental support. of course the one constant and true trusting relationship in his life will also be codependent. this all makes sense. but this is also a show where house gets shot, gets recruited by the CIA for an episode, goes to jail multiple times. but it’s also a story about a deeply damaged man making the best of what he has and also learning to accept love? oh yeah and this is also a sherlock adaptation.

Okay but actually if House and Wilson are having sex the whole time… it’s bleak.
- you fall in love with a man after his divorce. maybe he loves you too?
- he gets married to a woman. he doesn’t even like her. she knows about you two.
- you meet someone. she seems great, until she overrides your consent to save your life. it saves your life. it destroys your life. it ruins your ability to trust.
- you basically give up on looking for someone else. you can’t really be with your boy best friend, but at least he’s protective in a way you trust.
- wife # 2 comes and goes. wife #3 comes and goes. she’s never more important than you. except for being the wife.
- you think he’s stopped trying to find a long-term partner other than you. it only hurts a little when he finds stupid short-term flings.
- you offer to be a sperm donor for a friend / former flame trying IVF. she excitedly involves you in the process even if she doesn’t want your sperm. maybe this is how you get a family.
- she stops.
- your boy best friend starts seeing someone new. he actually likes her this time—because she actively reminds him of you. you can’t decide whether this is better or worse.
- you decide it’s better. you come to a “strange detente” with her. he’s happy. you’re mostly happy but you sabotage them a bit. lightheartedly. mostly.
- she gets in an accident because of you. your boy best friend is trying to protect you until you all realize it’s her.
- he asks you to risk your life to save her. you’ve always needed to go to extremes, in a desperate situation like this. he knows that. but he may also value her life over yours.
- you do it. it fails. he leaves.
- at least your old flame is there and you’re not completely alone.
- you’re bad at being vulnerable, but you ask him to stay. he leaves.
- you figure out that he is just scared. you make up.
- your old flame adopts a child, but you are not involved in any way.
- you begin to hallucinate. you fear this will result in losing your boy best friend. when you check into Mayfield, you believe that it has.
- but when you move out, you move in with him. you don’t really care if he has sex with the neighbor. you’ve been having sex with other people the whole time, and honestly the competition is kind of hot.
- you settle in. no more dating. he furnishes your apartment, and the one thing he picks? a way of saying he wants you.
- you don’t have a conversation about the relationship, but you’re pretty sure you’re essentially married now. you two have always felt that actions speak louder than words anyways.
- then he dates his ex-wife who used the hell out of him. you spiral, hostile and angry.
- he’s never going to see you and him as a real relationship. you’re never going to be good enough in that way. never never never
- your old flame is falling in love with someone else. you get jealous.
- she decides her feelings for you are greater. it’s your one last shot at a partnership. you can’t screw it up
- but deep down you know
- you know you’ll never be good enough
- she just hasn’t figured it out yet
- she figures it out
- you spiral, but this time it’s a free fall
- by this point, you know the dirty little secret of your life. your boy best friend will never be with you, but he’ll never leave you either. you tell him to do whatever he needs to do to get over it. he does.
- he has cancer. treatment doesn’t work.
- you’ve lived in pain, physical and emotional, for decades. he won’t live in pain for two years for you.
- you believe a miserable life is better than a miserable death. he believes a merciful death is better. you have never been able to reconcile this one fundamental difference between you.
- you never will
- the repetition becomes trite: you spiral
- it’s going to cost you everything. you should just give up.
- you find another way out. you fake your death to share his last five months with him.
- you run away together
- everyone will say you were selfish. an ass. they will say you never thought of anyone but yourself. they will say your boy best friend sacrificed and sacrificed. they will never see what you gave to him.
- story of your life

lost psych episode where they find the dead bodies of two middle aged men in some random ass motel, no easily discernible cause of death for either of them they're just laying there on the bed together. only one of them has any kind of ID and it's from fucking new jersey??? so with that and the rest of their room plus some statements from the motel workers shawn can only tell two things 1) these guys were definitely in a romantic relationship with each other and 2) they were some kind of road trip. neither of these things are helpful right now and nobody really suspects foul play but shawn has a weird feeling so they go to woody and he gives them some more info. they both have the same cause of death, morphine overdose, and the guy with the ID was actually suffering from late stage thymoma and was quite literally days away from dying of that, so he was most likely euthanized, but the other guy is weird. cause he wasn't suffering from any immediately life threatening diseases or anything. well, his liver had definitely taken a severe beating during his life, some form of addiction, and there was a significant amount of muscle removed from his leg at some point which would have made walking incredibly painful, but nothing immediate. so shawn goes back to them being a couple so like okay maybe the no-ID guy euthanized his partner and then killed himself? but that's so dramatic, nobody really thinks that kind of stuff happens in real life, and there's still something bothering shawn about this but they let it go. and then shawn remembers like five months ago hearing about this crazy doctor who had gone to jail for driving a car through his boss' house, was released for some reason, and then destroyed the plumbing in the hospital he worked at so he was going to go back to jail, but then died in a fire of some abandoned building. and when shawn looks up that story it's the dude without an ID which means this crazy ass man faked his death only to kill himself and his partner five months later — oh wait he would've gone to jail he wouldn't be with his partner when he died that's why he faked his death he wanted to be with his partner — so he makes some calls to the hospital this guy worked at and sure enough the administrator there tells him in an incredibly annoyed voice that yes James Wilson used to work here before he got cancer and his "best friend" died in a fire, yes he left town pretty much immediately after his "best friend's" funeral oh he's not actually dead? that is incredibly shocking thank you. shawn can't believe this guy is so calm about this because what the fuck. what the fuck was wrong with these two old men why did they decided to kill themselves here?? and the administrator is just like "well Santa Barbara is the murder capital of the US. they probably thought it'd be funny." and hangs up. credits roll.

Hello, Stranger
Genre: (F, A)
Includes: Mysta, Kyo, Shu
Word Count: 650
TW: mentioned Death, Meet-Cute cringe?
Concept/Title explained: Soulmate AUs
---------------------------------------------------------------
Mysta Rias: Red String
Mysta would not believe you if you told him he would wake up to find a red string attached to his pinky and it would lead here. He wouldn’t believe it for a second. Maybe that’s why it was so difficult to grasp the fact that it was true.
As the detective stepped out of the car, he looked towards his hand, the string growing tighter, leading into the graveyard in front of him. Every fiber of his being was begging that it wasn’t what he thought, that his soulmate was just visiting someone. Everyone knew soulmates were something important, that only one person was meant to be with the other end of the red string. He’d heard of how it’s supposed to be a magical moment when you meet your forever partner for the first time, his own friends Fulgur and Uki having tried to explain how it felt when they met in person. This moment was anything but a joyful fairytale scene as his string went taught, pausing in front of a grave.
Shock pierced through Mysta as he fell to his knees, unable to comprehend the words on the tombstone in front of him, desperately trying to pull the string from the packed dirt, giving up as it wouldn’t give. This was reality, his soulmate was dead… and he had found them too late.
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry you died without me...”
Kyo Kaneko: Colorblind
For as long as Kyo could remember, the world had been dull and void of life. He had believed it to be because of his illnesses, that because of his constant hospitalizations the world just didn’t seem as it once did to him. When he was accepted as a member of Iluna, he quickly realized that wasn’t the case. His friends bustled with life, joy and excitement, just to make their fans and each other feel happy. They had always spoke of the colorful world they’d lived in, how Ren’s world was all black and blue, how Aster seemed to shine in his purple outfits, how soft Maria looked with her pink accents. Kyo wondered if he’d ever experience the beautiful world his friends kept gushing about.
Nothing prepared him for that day though, when a new student had joined the Iluna institute, his world bursting into color like an explosion, his eyes immediately landing on you and your beauty.
"That stranger...”
Shu Yamino: Timer
Shu’s timer always confused him. It never seemed to tick down, not by a second, minute, hour, or day. The clock on his wrist never changed. It didn’t help when he was thrown years forward into the future. In fact, when he did get transported, he forgot about the timer, not once checking it since he joined Luxiem.
When the topic of timers came up on stream a year later during a Zomboid collab, everyone had revealed what their timer said. Some, like Nina’s and Ren’s had already gone off, while others like Alban’s and Wilson’s had years to go. Shu could feel his heart in his throat when he noticed his only had a few more minutes. He wracked his brain, trying to think of who was part of the collab he hadn’t met, who was running late. His answer came a minute later, his timer down to under a minute when his doorbell rang. Muting his stream and running to the door, he saw you. You hadn’t noticed your timers going off as you looked at your phone, seemingly confusing the house with your friends as you look up, slightly annoyed.
Everything was in slow motion when you looked up, eyes locking with purple as your phone fell, quickly looking at your wrist then Shu’s as everything became clearer. He smiled, picking up your phone and handing it back to you, a teasing tone to his voice.
“Hello, stranger...”
---------------------------------------------------------------
A/N: thank you for your patience regarding new fics, I would like to state that due to recent news regarding Mysta Rias’ graduation, I will no longer write for Mysta unless requested, similar to how I write for Yugo. Until his graduation date, please support him and the rest of Luxiem through this difficult time, and stream Detect My Love. ~Iris

Honey, I Ain’t Accustomed to Lose (Ch2)
Tumblr media
Gregory House x reader, chapter 2 of If You Want It, You Can Bleed on Me
Word Count: 3k
Warnings: none
James was cheating on him.
Logically, Greg knows his partner in crime was bound to have someone on the side to eat lunch with. Greg wasn’t available every lunch break. Patients could be so ignorant about the times they decided to go into cardiac arrest, or seize, or have groundbreaking symptoms he needed to be present for. So he knew James would scope out his office or the coma patients’ rooms and then if Greg was nowhere to be found, he’d find someone else to go to the cafeteria with. Someone else to buy lunch.
He just wasn’t expecting it to be you.
No, you’re far too pretty for a married man to be dining with alone, that’s his first assessment. And he says as much when he walks into James’ office.
“This is Dr. Gregory House,” James says tiredly, grimacing in the way he does when he knows nothing he can say will excuse his friend’s behavior and that he knows worse is coming.
You stand up to introduce yourself to him, and he raises an eyebrow, grabbing your badge in his hand. “You’re not a doctor. Is this the nurse you’re cheating on your wife with?” Greg asks, glancing at James.
James is about to protest, but you’re quicker on your feet, or well, tongue. “Yeah. You came just in time for the foreplay. Want to join?”
Greg breaks into a smile; he can’t help himself. He now thinks James’ quiet irritation was more due to the fact that he never wanted the two of you to meet, and not for obvious reasons but because he knew the two of you together would make his life a living hell. “So. How long has this been going on for?”
“Oh, you know, since I started in this…position. Pun intended,” you say, a playful gleam in your eye. “I am a doctor, though.”
Greg rolls his eyes. “Your badge says 'nurse'.”
“Doctor of nursing practice.”
“Mm. So you think you’re efficient at diagnosis? What’s your specialty?” Greg asks.
“Psychiatry,” you say. “And yes.”
“Psychiatry? You’ve been hanging out with a psychiatrist? Wait, sorry, psych nurse. Are you sure this isn’t the nurse you were talking about?”
“House. Stop it,” James scolds.
“You know, that confuses patients. They think you’re a doctor, but…”
“Good. Because I am,” you say, grinning at him. We’re all providers. My scope of practice is just slightly smaller.”
“Psychiatry. Why do you need a psych consult?” Greg asks.
James guffaws. “Have you met my patient population? Everyone’s dying or someone they love is. Nearly every one of my patients needs a psych referral.”
“And does she take on every one?”
“I take on most of the pediatric patients. This isn’t my only job, though. You know you can talk to me. I’m right here. You don’t have to address all these questions to Wilson.”
“It’s just… it’s just I get so nervous talking to pretty women, you know?” He says mockingly. “Where else do you work, then?”
“I work at a children’s psych hospital.”
“Interesting,” Greg says, taking you in fully. Your hair, your eyes, your breasts… you’re definitely hot. And psych… psych was interesting. Least chosen field…. For a reason.
Also interesting was the fact that James kept you hidden for who knows how long.
“Really?” James says, somewhat incredulous. “You think children’s psych is interesting?”
“I’m sure she has some interesting stories.”
“Do I ever,” you say, smiling.
“How long have you been here?”
“Six months?” you estimate.
“And I never saw you? No, I would’ve remembered. You would have remembered." Greg’s pager beeps and he scoffs. “Guess I’m needed back. To be continued. But wait? What’s your page number? You know. In case I need a psych consult.”
You look at Wilson after Greg leaves, your eyes gleaming. “Is there a nurse—?”
“Oh, stop it,” he says, but smiles, turning a little red.
“It’s Cynthia, isn’t it?”
“How did you—“
“She’s always talking to you every time I come here. Flirting. Lucky guess.”
“I do not flirt with her,” he says indignantly. “If anything you were just flirting with House.”
You raise an eyebrow at him. “I was doing no such thing.”
“Inviting him to a threesome? Jesus, you sound just like him.”
“I was kidding. Unless you wanted me to be serious?" you respond, grinning.
He shoots you a withering look and doesn't say anything. Point taken.
"Everyone says he’s a sociopath," you say, shrugging your shoulders. "I mean... I'm a lot of things, but I'm not a sociopath."
“Well, he’s not, either. He’s just miserable and has a shitty bedside manner. There’s a difference. Anyway, can we go through these patients?”
“Yes, sure… wait. I’m being paged,” you say and look down at her pager clipped to your belt buckle. “It’s House.”
Wilson sighs. “I told you. This is why I kept you two apart for as long as I could.”
“You don’t want your friend to be happy?”
“I don’t want you to be miserable.”
“I’m going to keep him waiting. We can go through a couple of files.”
———
You waltz into Greg’s office, his eyes gleaming playfully when he sees you through the glass doors. “I thought hookers took pride in punctuality,” he says when you enter the room.
“Really? I’m late? As far as I’m concerned, I came… just in time,” you say, pausing for emphasis at the exact moment. Two can play. You could go for hours. Could he?
Greg chuckles, smiling almost in spite of himself. “Yeah. James has a lot to answer for.”
“Does he?” you ask, meeting his sparkling blue eyes, such a contrast against his otherwise dominating demeanor. He’s tall but doesn’t stand up to his full height, leaning on the cane. Tone acerbic, bitter, yet a hint of lightness that lets you know he’s not taking his cynicism all too seriously.
He’s dangerous. Sharp as a knife and he’d cut you just as deep.
But he is attractive, albeit in a disheveled manner.
“Who is this?” Foreman asks, already exasperated.
“She’s a woman, Foreman, look, there’s another one right here,” Greg says and gestures to Cameron. “She’s our psych consult.”
You introduce yourself to the team, and Cameron starts to introduce herself to you, just getting to her specialty before he cuts her off. “No. She doesn’t need to know your names. There’s the Second Hottest Woman in the Room, Pretty Boy with a Stupid Accent, and Doctor Who Skipped His Psych Rotation Yet Is Somehow a Neurologist.”
“What a team,” you tease. “I want to hear the pretty boy’s accent, though.”
Chase opens his mouth but Greg glares at him. “Dude. She’s totally into me. Don’t even try.”
Chase scoffs audibly, but ever the yes-man, he keeps quiet. Greg will really have to buy him a dog collar one of these days.
“Why do we need a psych consult?” Foreman asks.
“Because. Some people… think restraining a woman with Haldol to get a blood sample instead of, you know, doing your job correctly is the way to go about things. Clearly, we need a refresher.”
“You try getting blood from her,” he says, rolling his eyes.
“Hm. It’s almost like we don’t restrain patients to make our job easier,” you say, meeting his eye. You’d heard a little about his lackeys, albeit not as much as you heard about the man himself. You know their names, though, without having to be introduced. Working with House seemed to bring infamy. They were the topic of most of the gossip these days, and it was a big hospital.
“Oh. The lecture from Dad didn’t work so you bring Mom in to give it again?” Foreman asks, rolling his eyes.
“What? No,” Greg says, furrowing his brow. “Cuddy is your Mommy, foreman. Don’t get confused, now. She won’t come over here unless I do something egregious. Like chemically restrain a patient that didn’t need to be.”
“She was attacking me!”
“She spit at you! And now she’s vomiting blood because of your screwup,” House says firmly.
“Last time I checked, Haldol doesn’t cause that.”
“Jesus Christ,” you mutter. “Like I said. We don’t restrain patients to make our job easier. She’s a human being. She deserves respect even if she’s being difficult.”
“Okay. Like you never restrain patients?”
“Of course I do. But not because they spit at me,” you laugh. “And not to make my job easier. If they’re a danger to themselves or someone else and it’s the only option, yeah.”
“Give the patient some dignity, Foreman,” Greg agrees.
All three of his ducklings look at him incredulously. “What? I said there was no dignity in death. Not in living.”
“Well. This is going to go back and forth and I don’t have all day for a consult I’m not getting paid for. What’s wrong with the patient?” you ask.
“She's crazy, that’s what’s wrong with her,” Foreman says.
“Yeah. Helpful 19th-century assessment. Do we have an actual diagnosis?”
“Schizophrenia,” Cameron says, trying to reel it back in and be helpful.
“Okay. Does she actually have schizophrenia or does she just hear things? Because hallucinations can be caused by a myriad of things, alcohol withdrawal, unmanaged cirrhosis…”
“She is an alcoholic,” Chase says.
“It’s not a stupid accent, House,” you say, winking at Chase. “Stupid comment though. She’s not an alcoholic. She has alcohol use disorder.”
“Right. I don’t have a pain management problem, I have a pain problem,” Greg grins at you, nudging your arm as he takes a couple pills. “She gets it.”
You lose the fight in the urge to roll your eyes.
“She wasn’t withdrawing when the hallucinations started,” Cameron points out.
“Okay. Liver levels?” you ask.
“Elevated but nothing crazy. She was brought in for a DVT.”
“Ammonia?”
“We… don’t have it.”
You look at Greg. “Slacking? No one thought of the liver in a patient who drinks alcohol?”
Greg shrugs. “When I asked for liver levels I don’t know why they didn’t assume I meant ammonia, too.”
“Or you didn’t think of it,” you say, smirking. Anyway, DVT? How old is she?”
“38.”
“And when was the schizophrenia diagnosed?” you ask.
“Two years ago,” Foreman answers.
“Too young for a DVT and too old for a schizophrenia diagnosis…” you mutter, trailing off.
“That’s what I said,” Greg says.
“Well. I would test ammonia levels and look into her diagnosis. For her to make it to see psych, they had to have missed something if it was something physical that was causing the hallucinations.”
“You think she doesn’t have schizophrenia?” Greg asks.
“I don’t know. She could. But she’s displaying more physical symptoms. Wouldn’t hurt to work backward. Also wouldn’t hurt to get ammonia levels on a patient who drinks alcohol? Can’t believe you missed that one.”
“I thought it was the alcohol,” Chase says.
“Oh. Shut up. She’s not into you,” Greg scolds. “Why nursing?" he asks, turning to you.
“Cheaper. Smaller scope of practice, sure, but I was able to save money sooner. Not as much of a student loan debt,” you answer.
“Why psychiatry? Least chosen field for a reason. Clearly.”
“It’s interesting. I don’t do well with life or death, either.”
“Yet you work with dying cancer patients?”
“They know they’re dying. They’re accepting it, or fighting it, but they know it.”
Greg looks her over once more. “Yeah. One more thing. Why are you going to dinner with me tonight?”
You laugh, trying to gauge if he’s serious or not. “I don’t recall agreeing to that.”
“Mm. Wear something slutty. I’ll pick you up at 8.”
“In your dreams, House,” you giggle, fighting the blush on your cheeks. “You don’t know where I live.”
“Wilson does.”
“You better hope so,” you say, and you walk out the glass door, smiling a little bit too wide for your own liking. Yeah. He was right. James did have a lot to answer for.
“What the hell was that?” Foreman mutters.
“A woman. Jesus, Foreman. I know you don’t get a lot, but come on,” House jokes.
“Hm. Flirting over diagnoses?” Chase laughs. “That’s one way to get a woman.”
“What? She’s damaged, too?” Cameron asks, trying not to betray her hurt.
“Oh, almost definitely,” Greg says.
“So what? You’re going to date her until you figure it out, then leave her?”
“Save your moral outrage. I’ll make sure to sleep with her for as long as she lets me,” he responds, grinning.
Cameron scoffs and rolls her eyes. “Nice, House.”
“I thought so. Now, you heard the woman. You all have jobs to do.”
——---- You head back to Wilson’s office, shaking your head, feeling like you had just gotten in too deep already.
“He asked you out, didn’t he?” Wilson asks, not looking up from his paper.
“Yeah.”
Sighing, he puts down the file and looks up at you. “It’s unprecedented, though. He hasn’t been on a date in five years.”
“I’m a little rusty myself,” you say, shrugging.
“Yeah. He… it’s been a long time since he’s opened up to somebody. You better be sure you want this because if he opens up and he gets hurt… I don’t think there’ll be a next time."
“Jesus. I just met him. Relax."
“Yeah. It’s just… keep it in mind.”
You furrow your brow at him. “You kept us apart. You could’ve introduced me a million times by now. Either you never wanted us to meet… or you felt it had to happen by chance.”
“You two are both the most stubborn people I’ve ever met,” he says. “Not to mention both of you are constantly looking for people’s ulterior motives. Case in point… this exact conversation. I know I don’t know you as well as I know him… but. You’re not him, no, you’re not as callous and you care much more about the consequences of your actions, but… had I purposely led the two of you to each other you would’ve hated each other just on that principle.”
“So… half the reason he’s interested in me is because you hid me from him.”
“Precisely.”
“Hm. You’re a conniving bitch yourself, you know that, right?” you say, leaning back in your chair.
Wilson breaks into a smile. “Guilty as charged.”
“You think I’m going to break his heart?” you ask.
“Oh, you could. Like you haven’t trampled on men’s hearts in the past.”
“On occasion. I feel like I’ve been fucked over more times than I’ve fucked someone over.”
“Right. I think we all feel like that. It’s never our fault. It’s always someone else’s fuck up.”
“I mean, sure,” you agree. “How else are we going to live with ourselves?”
There’s a brief, comfortable moment of silence. You like Wilson, and had grown closer than acquaintances over the past six months. You can see how it would be difficult not to like him. Nothing he does could be described as offensive or rude, and if nothing else he could be charming, with his dry humor and kind eyes.
That being said. You can tell he’s got issues. Not that it would take a doctorate to diagnose that; the man is on his third marriage and this one isn’t going any better than the other two. Something lurks underneath there, something about how he accepts things he can’t change. It’s a good quality, a healthy quality, even, to not rage and battle with the world. He has much to be thankful for, anyway. White man, presumably straight, good paying job, the intellect and ability to go through med school and the intelligence and skills to head the oncology department in his 30s.
Still. Some of that rage is healthy, it’s human. And you can see how the lack of it might lead to fights, to growing distant, and because he doesn’t fight the things he can’t change, he lets woman after woman go.
You wonder what his actual other half’s deal is. And you say as much.
“What’s got him all fucked up?” you ask. “He’s older than you. Never married, I presume.”
“Did you notice the cane?” Wilson snarks. “I’d start there.”
“No,” you say, leaning back in your chair, crossing your legs. “No. He was messed up before that. Sure, chronic pain would exacerbate any problems he had, but… I don’t believe that that’s the cause of it.”
“All I’ll say is it’s been a while since he’s put himself out there. I kept myself out of this because I can’t be involved or he’ll sabotage it. And I… I don’t want him to. I think you’d be good for him.”
“I don’t know how much good I’d be anybody,” you mutter. “I seem normal, but it’s a good mask.”
“Well. If nothing else you two can be miserable together. Most people are.”
“Hm. Like you and your wife?”
“Don’t go there," he says, tone a little more firm. “I think it’s fair game since you just waltzed into my love life,” you counter.
“You let him in all by yourself. But… this is why. I say this in the kindest way possible, but having worked with you for half a year, there’s something wrong with you. It comes out here and there. You have learned to mask it to some extent. But you… you’re damaged goods. So. Either the two of you will destroy each other, feed off each other’s worst parts and make a suicide pact I’ll have to talk you out of… or you’ll both find comfort in finally meeting somebody as fucked as you are.”
“Wow. What a glowing review of my personality,” you say sarcastically, but you don't have much of a counter because you know he isn't wrong.
"I... I don't know if it's your personality or if it's even your fault. I'm not House. I'm not going to pry. I don't need to know to be friends with you. But... he will."
“Whatever. We all hurt, Wilson. It’s part of the human condition.”
“Okay. Just… be careful."
"I thought you wanted this to happen?" you ask.
"I do... but... I just want you to be aware."
“Well. I'm one step ahead of you. I’m taking files out of my medical records,” you say, grinning.
Wilson furrows his brow. “Why? What does that have to do with anything?”
You laugh. “I’ve heard enough stories from you in passing, and I know he’ll be looking for them.”
“Yeah. Yeah. If there’s one thing he likes…it’s games. Nice courtship techniques.”
“You play games just as much.”
“Yes, but I don’t commit crimes.”
“Being friends with House? I doubt that," you laugh. "Didn’t you… I don’t know… reduce a patient’s tumor to con another doctor into removing it?”
“How do you even know about that?”
You shrug. “Everyone knew about that. Anyway. I’ll leave enough so he knows some are missing.”
“What? Enough… oh. Files. We’re back to that.”
“Yeah. Keep up,” you say, grinning.
"Mm. Well. Have fun."
And you know, you did. For a while.

Watching House MD for the first time in 2024 full SEASON 1 Review-
- I had learned from his Wiki page before I even started the show that he had a couple of divorces, but Wilson is really bad at marriage, isn't he? His wife is having company and she makes dinner. House calls once and he totally abandons those plans to meet him at a bar. Wilson lies to his wife and says he's working on christmas and then he goes to Houses apartment instead. House continuously implies that wilson is having affairs around the hospital. He's very funny, he's clever, and he can be sweet, but I would NOT want that man as a partner. That being said, whenever House and Cameron were going on a date and he goes to Cameron to tell her not to hurt House was crazy. Everyone is just so worried about Cameron getting hurt and he does NOT care about her. He's like "huh?? why would I care about you i'm here about house??"
- Cameron's crush on House hit me like a ton of bricks. Even before it was revealed that she had a crush. I thought that they were so good as friends. It seems that now at the end of the season. It's kind of been packed up? And i'm glad for that I hope they can go back to being just besties. You kind of begin to see some of the more flawed parts of Cameron in the latter half of this season, which I appreciate. Such as her need to fix things or people. It makes her feel a bit more human and not just a very angelic being.
- Chase also has a lot of flaws shown in the latter half of the season, and a lot more than Cameron. Don't get me wrong, I still love him, but he was one sidedly enemies with a ten year old girl because she was overweight? Also I picked up on a consistent habit that Chase seems to have where in general he's a pretty nice guy, but when things start to go wrong for him, he will say the most out of pocket things to patients. It's a writing quirk that showed up early in the season with the nuns and has been a constant part of his character since. Also, I made a post about this when I watched the episode. But canonically has seen a dominatrix???? More and more ragged pieces of fabric are stitching themselves together to show me a quilt of Chase.
- I hope in the future we get more focus on Foreman as a character. I would like to know everything about this man. And I know that it was a joke at the beginning, but this man really does try to tie every case back to neurology. Him stepping in to tell House not to hurt Cameron by being nice and giving her hope was nice.
- Time for Mister Gregory House himself. Noticing a pattern of him very much being good with children and having no room for idiot parents who are hurting their kids or are weary of medicine. Love to see it. He has a very distinct relationship with everyone on screen. Every person he interacts with, he interacts with the differently. He's pretty hard on Chase, especially after the Vogler incident. He is continuously hard on Foreman as well with an unhealthy dose of micro-aggression mixed in. Generally, he's hard on Chase in a fatherly way and hard on Foreman in a motherly way, if that makes any sense. He is much softer with Cameron. He and Wilson are co-dependent and at the same time can be very cruel to each other, while also supporting each other. It's very interesting to see these dynamics play out.
- Stacy is complicated. Her trying to convince House to do a treatment her husband doesn't want him to do, mirroring how Housebecame disabled was painful. I can see why she would want the treatment for them in both scenarios and I can also see why it can be selfish or wrong. She found someone that doesn't make her feel alone and is willing to forgive her, so in the end I guess she found her way to a happier life. I still think House has the right to be angry, of course and she isn't owed House's forgiveness but she's at least understandable.
Random extra thoughts and things I've noticed:
- THE KID FROM SPY KIDS WAS IN AN EPISODE??
- So was the girl from mean girls, les mis, mama mia, and Jennifer's body, can you tell I don't know peoples names?
- House has the saddest little eyes but they also pierce my soul and make me feel horrible for him, almost like I did something
- House has an array of toys all over his desk, and he plays with his cane or rubber bands all the time
- I could not STAND Vogler. I'm glad they wrapped up his arch this season because I was getting tired of him
Some context:
I'm watching the show mostly because my Twitter and Tumblr were very adamant that I do, but also because I have a running thing where I very rarely finish a show that I start. I've started several shows and finished very few of them. I started watching House on New Year's Eve The day before the first day of 2024 and plan to finish it before the first day of 2025. This is actually a big deal for me because usually I can't finish a show over 3 seasons and the farthest I've gotten is five seasons. I will be posting as I go and also doing a halfway point and a full season review of all 8 seasons.

i need a wilson to my house. not in a “i want a romantic partner” way, though that too. i want someone who sees, acknowledges, and challenges all the worst parts of me and still loves me anyway. i need someone that makes me want to be a better person for them. heal and grow and change when i need to just so they’ll stay, if not for myself. i need someone who makes life feel big and important, just because they’re in mine, and how lucky am i. i need someone who won’t run away when it gets tough, but even if we hit a rut, we need each other and know it. i need someone who it’ll be easy with. who i want to spend every waking moment with and never get bored because i just want to hear their thoughts so badly. i need a muse. i need someone who can show me the alternative perspective when i can’t see it myself. i need to be so obsessed with someone that it’s concerning. that if they were to disappear, i wouldn’t understand how to make sense of what was left. healthy? perhaps not! fun? absolutely. i want what they have.

The Ship of the Day: Buddie
Tumblr media
Character names: Evan “Buck” Buckley x Edmundo “Eddie” Diaz
Ship name: Buddie
Original Content:  9-1-1
Info about ship:
Continuing with our firefighters theme from the previous post, 9-1-1 is a TV show following a fire house in Los Angeles as they go about their daily lives, saving people in daring rescues, dealing with funny accidents and being all around badasses. At the centre of the show is the 5 main firefighters, 118 Captain Robert “Bobby” Nash, paramedics Henrietta “Hen” Wilson and Howard “Chimney” Han, and finally, the topic of this post, special rescues duo Evan “Buck” Buckley and Edmundo “Eddie” Diaz.
Yes, firefighters apparently really like their nicknames.
Tumblr media
(Also, just look at Eddie's left hand placement in that gif, that's a strong grip on Buck's waist)
Buck and Eddie are the young, traditionally handsome members of the team, performing daring rescues with an ongoing repartee with one another. Best friends by their own descriptions, they were not always as close as they are in the later seasons. During Eddie’s introduction to the show, Buck was very against him joining, feeling as if he were invading and taking his role. It was only after pulling a grenade out of a man’s leg together that they learnt that they could get along and began their friendship. A true enemies to lovers story.
Buck helped Eddie find special needs childcare for Eddie’s young son, Christopher, and has stepped into the role of second parental figure for him. Buck is very good with Christopher and takes care of him often, even saving his life after they end up in the middle of a tsunami. Christopher absolutely adores Buck, going to him for help when Eddie is not available or is the reason for Christopher’s ire.
Tumblr media
Type of ship: Queer Bait
The show is not scared of queer representation, it contains many characters who are part of the LGBTQ+ community including Hen being a married lesbian with a son and Bobby’s wife, Athena’s ex-husband being gay and after the divorce getting into a gay relationship. However, this seems to be the edge of where they go, they refuse to take this final step and instead insist on edging the fans on the will they, won’t they of Buck and Eddie.
Firstly, there is a whole lot of longing staring at each other, like a lot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Buck’s early behaviour towards Eddie is described by his sister Maddie as a “boy-crush”.
Additionally, both of them are incapable of keeping relationships with female characters. Most of these female characters are brought in simply and solely to act as possible vessels of relationships and so are incredibly one dimensional. The only female partner who is more than that is Eddie’s wife, who firstly disappears from Eddie and Christopher’s lives and then, once she is back, very quickly dies. Eddie describes dating, or more specifically dating women, as “putting on a performance”.
Well, that’s a pretty queer-coded thought Edmundo.
Most people headcanon Eddie as a gay man who was pressured into a straight relationship due to family and so married the first girl he could, before he then spent most of his married life deployd halfway across the world for the Army. Buck, on the other hand, is pretty often headcanoned as a bi-man who isn’t so much closeted as just doesn’t really talk about it. It's something about him, but it's just that his past few partners have been girls and so people assume he is straight.
Going forward with more reasons Buddie is a queerbait, we return to Christopher Diaz. As mentioned earlier, Buck has taken up the role of a secondary parental figure for Christopher and this extends even into law. After Eddie is shot, something I’ll return to, and nearly dies, he ends up in the hospital for an extended period of time. Buck takes up the role of full time parent, firstly being the one to tell Chris that Eddie is hurt and then being the one to take care of him, getting him to school, bringing him to visit his dad. Altogether giving him full-time care. This is happening while Eddie has a girlfriend, a girlfriend who is a special needs teacher who knows how to take care of Christopher, and yet the job is still designated to Buck. As Eddie is healing he reveals to Buck that he changed his will and that, if he dies, Chris’ guardianship will pass to Buck. Not his girlfriend. Not his grandmother or aunt who he visits religiously, not even his parents. His best friend.
Baby trapping, anyone?
Tumblr media
So, getting hurt. They both do it a lot. And I mean a lot. But it is not so much the injuries themselves that are important but the reactions of their other halves. When Eddie has a well collapse on top of him, Buck breaks down and starts trying to dig desperately with his bare hands, when Buck has a fire engine land on his leg and crush it, Eddie holds his hand and keeps him company while everyone else is working on getting the rig off of him. When Eddie is shot, Buck is the one to save him, facing one of his worst fears and going back under a fire engine for the first time since he got his leg crushed under one, to pull Eddie to safety. When Buck is struck by lightning, it is Eddie who screams for him, who lowers him from where he is hanging off the ladder and also the one performing CPR. When the medical professionals say they will do their best, Eddie tells them to “do more”. They both save each other's lives, they both are often fuelled by emotions when the other is hurt. It is very romance-coded. This is not to say platonic relationships can’t have this care, but it is almost always romantic relationships that have this care displayed on TV.
And the final part, the most damning evidence of the studio intentionally baiting fans. The Couch Theory. The Couch theory was created by fans and means the following: Buck’s couches are metaphors for his relationships. Every time he gets a new partner, a new couch happens, and every time he breaks from a relationship, the couch is gotten rid of. When he is questioned about this by other characters, he always says that it's because the couch is never right.
Tumblr media
So where does he find the most comfortable couch, I hear you ask. Well, he often ends up on Eddie’s couch, even sometimes asleep there. So many of Buck and Eddie’s most important moments, their most queer-coded moments, occur on that couch. And in the most recent season, it seemed that fans were gonna get their way and the baiting was going to spawn into true queer. Throughout the season there were many inferences about the couches, Buck is unable to sleep on his couch so he goes to see Eddie and falls asleep on one side of the couch. Later in the season has Christopher falling asleep in the middle of the couch, and Eddie sits on the other side that wasn’t occupied by Buck earlier on. This creates an image of a family on that couch, two parents bookending their child. And what do the creators do with it? With the perfect set up they’ve built?
They give the two of them very hastily thrown in female love interests that have absolutely no background or connection to anything and then end the season before we can see any actual development.
The creatives intentionally took the focus of a queer theory and set it up for an apparent result only to swipe it straight out from under the fans. It was a spit in the face to fans and the fans were not happy with it. Queerbaiting is one thing but queerbaiting with fans own queer metaphors is a new low. And yet Fox did it.

Asteroid Hera (103)
Tumblr media
"Queen of the gods, and goddess of women, marriage, childbirth, heirs, kings, and empires. She is the goddess of the sky, the wife and sister of Zeus, and the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She was usually depicted as a regal woman in the prime of her life, wearing a diadem and veil and holding a lotus-tipped staff. Although she is the goddess of marriage, Zeus's many infidelities drive her to jealousy and vengefulness. Her sacred animals include the heifer, the peacock, and the cuckoo. Her Roman counterpart is Juno."
❀ Someone's Asteroid Hera conjunct or opposite your Venus can indicate that that person is jealous of the romantic attention you receive from others and the romantic attention you give to other (especially if the Hera person is a feminine)
❀ Similarly, Hera conjunct Venus in a Natal Chart is indicative of someone who has the potential to be vindictive and jealous in a relationship. It also indicates being jealous and vindictive towards other women in a feminines chart.
❀ Someone's Hera in your 5th House can indicate that someone is jealous of the preconceived notion that you are receiving attention from anyone other than them. Additionally, it also indicates that they feel jealous when your attention is on anyone other than them. This goes for your Natal Chart as well. It can also indicate that one party is jealous about the accolades and talents of the other party.
❀ Hera in the 1st House or conjunct the Ascendant in Synastry can indicate that one (or both) parties were already in a committed relationship with someone else when the two parties met. (Tom Hanks + Rita Wilson, Blake Lively + Ryan Reynolds)
❀ In a Natal Chart, hard aspects from Hera to the Sun can indicate having an appearance that is alluringly pretty like a siren. (Megan Fox, Laetitia Casta)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whereas soft aspects from Hera to the Sun can indicate having an appearance that is naturally pretty (Bianca Balti, Gigi Hadid) I've also noticed that the average person tends to find the latter more attractive.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
❀ Hera conjunct Juno can indicate mutual jealousy between two parties, and the house Hera is in can indicate what causes it. Ex. If it falls in the 4th House it could indicate that both parties are jealous of how close one is to someone else. The Hera person will act on this jealousy whereas the Juno person will not.
❀ Hera in the 7th House in Synastry can indicate that one partner is jealous about the romantic attention the other partner receives.

I'm a firm believer that, if Amber hadn't died, she and Wilson would have lasted. Why you ask? Yes, they were in love, and yes, Amber made Wilson a better person, but the main reason I have is that House respected her.
If House doesn't like one of Wilson's partners, he's more than capable of chasing them away. He does it all the time. If he wants to, he will outlast them. He went through his stages of hissing like a feral cat and being protective, yes, but Amber sassed him right back. She was on equal mental footing with him and was able to turn whatever he said right back onto him.
She quickly gave House reason to respect her and he did.
Wilson is in control of his own love life, but House is very good at getting people he decides undesirable to leave. He will outlast who he wants to.
He didn't want to outlast Amber. He was prepared to coexist with her.
Amber would have made it all the way with Wilson because she made Wilson better and House respected her.

『 The Past Records 』 Collection Event: Chapter 5
Jude Jazza & Ellis Twilight
Tumblr media
This is a fan-made translation solely for entertainment purposes with no guaranteed perfection. I do not own any of the original content. Please support CYBIRD by buying their stories and playing their games. Reblogs appreciated.
❥・• Warnings and FAQ
They took Liam’s word for it and followed Ellis and Jude to a warehouse at the harbour.
Alfons: It’s not like anyone would hold a business meeting in the dead of the night, so what on earth could they possibly be here for?
Harrison: Assuming that they’re here to make a deal with one of those former inmates, depending on the contents of said deal—
Liam: They might be dealing with someone who deserves to be punished by Crown… right?
Liam: Although I find that hard to believe.
Alfons: Shh… looks like there’s someone already inside the warehouse.
Harrison: That’s—?
Jude and Ellis boldly entered the warehouse, causing the people inside to get chaotic.
Jude: Ahh, you're that guy who tried to sell me inferior goods the other day.
Business Partner: …!?
Tumblr media
Jude: But this person next to you… who is he?
Wilson: My name is Thomas Wilson. I’m the representative of Wilson Tradings, birdbrain.
Jude: Ah, I remember you. You’re that chap who ran a damn shitty business that went bankrupt and even tried to swindle us.
Wilson: …!
Ellis: Is he the number one bad guy?
Jude: Yeah. That pale coward over there doesn’t have the balls to have dealings with a former inmate.
Ellis: Pale… uhh… if not Mr Wilson…
Jude: Dennis Donald.
Tumblr media
Ellis: Mr Dennis.
Dennis: W-Why do you know… my name…
Ellis: It’s the bare minimum to know the name, family structure, assets, and background of your business partners.
Ellis: So, Mr Dennis, you were threatened by Mr Willson to store dangerous drugs in this warehouse you rented. Correct?
Dennis: H-How did you know about that…
Wilson: You idiot! Why would you admit to it!?
Jude: Stashing illegal goods in the warehouse you rented from us, said drugs to ex-inmates fresh out of prison to make a quick buck…
Jude: Then at the end, you’ll very conveniently say that “Jude Jazza is the mastermind” and frame me to take your revenge. Was that your plot?
Wilson: — Exactly. I did all of this to take revenge on you!
Wilson: The dealings with the ex-inmates will start tomorrow, and this information has already been sold to a newspaper publishing house.
Wilson: There’s no way you can get rid of everything in this warehouse by then. It’s game over for you now… haha, HAHAHA!
Jude: You seriously think it’s fun to waste your life on such bullshit?
Jude: You put in all that effort just to do business with some bad guys, and now there’s no turning back for you. Poor thing.
Wilson: Hmph, enjoy your peace while you still can…
Dennis: AAAHH…!?
Wilson: Shut up! What’s with you all of a sudden!?
Dennis: T-The drugs… the drugs are not here!
Wilson: What the hell…!?
Ellis: Sorry. I know you went into debt to obtain those drugs, but…
Ellis: I got rid of them all.
Wilson: What…!? I-Impossible… when did you… how…
Jude: Your clients are coming tomorrow. Who knows what those ex-inmates with a criminal record for drug abuse will do to you?
Wilson: Ughh, ARGGGHHH!
Tumblr media
Ellis: Oh, he’s coming at me.
Jude: A move only a small fry would make.
Ellis: What should we do? Can I knock him out?
Jude: No need.
As Wilson raised his fist, Jude swiftly kicked him in the leg.
Wilson: Ugh!
Jude: Dennis, drug and human trafficking are against the rules. This was stated clearly in our contract… ah.
Jude: You made use of that coward to threaten others while you watched from a safe distance, so you don't know it.
Wilson: This is all your fault...
Jude: You’ll never know how many people’s lives would be ruined by the stuff you’re selling, because you let others do the dirty work for you.
Jude: You're a scumbag who wants to enjoy while others suffer because of you. — You would’ve been killed by someone else even if I don't do it myself.
Jude: Since you're going to be my servant for the rest of your life, I’ll lend you a hand before those ex-inmates rat you out, yeah?
After Wilson apologised profusely and begged for his life a few minutes later, his face had footprints vividly imprinted on it.
Tumblr media
Ellis: Mr Dennis, as you’ve also violated your contract, you’re now Jude’s servant.
Dennis: *sobs*... if you’ll free me from Wilson, I’ll follow you for the rest of my life…
Ellis: Are those tears of joy…?
Jude: Gross.
Jude: So, what do you guys intend to come out of hiding?
Alfons: Oh, you noticed us?
Liam: Erm, I can’t really say for certain, but was all of this because that man lying over there holds a grudge against Jude?
Liam: He tried to frame Jude for doing illegal business in this warehouse, is that right?
Ellis: That’s exactly what happened. Jude’s involvement in high risk business deals tends to get him a lot of hatred from others.
Harrison: So the reason behind you declining to take tonight’s mission and your suspicious activities every night…
Jude: I just wanted to settle one thing that's been a pain in the ass, before I get busy with completing missions.
Ellis: The person Mr Wilson was about to make a deal with to frame Jude seems to be a former aristocrat who drugged and held captive the people he abducted…
Ellis: I’m guessing that he plans to commit the same crime again, once he obtains the drugs from Mr Wilson.
Alfons: Goodness, that’s rather villainous.
Jude: I’ll do the missions or whatever stuff Crown has, after I’m finished with the culprit this guy will lure to me.
Jude: He thinks he can return to the free world so easily? I’m going to show him what hell is like.
Harrison: Do you have some sort of personal vendetta against that guy…?
Ellis: Nope. He just happens to be the type of person Jude detests.
Jude: I’m allowed to torment bastards like him when it’s a mission for “Crown”, right?
Jude: Getting paid to torture corrupt aristocrats sounds like one hell of a good job.
Liam: Whoa… he’s got a bad look on his face.
Alfons: There might not be anyone more suited to be a member of Crown than Jude.
Harrison: … Miraculously, we have arrived at a conclusion for the report.
Tumblr media
Ellis: Report?
Harrison: Nothing.
— On another day, Harrison submitted the completed report to Victor.
Jude: Thought they were snooping around for something… this is so stupid.
Victor: This means the case is finally closed!
Harrison: Well… there is still one more thing that remains a mystery.
William: A mystery?
Harrison: Why is Ellis always with Jude?
Tumblr media
Harrison: He doesn't seem like he’s being blackmailed…
Jude: Oi.
Liam: Indeed, they don’t look like they get along.
Ellis: … It’s because of a promise.

How do you think James Wilson would comfort his partner during like panic attacks?
I apologize and understand if you don't feel comfortable answering this as it's a tough topic.
I was just curious because I know when I have 'fits', it's really difficult to calm myself down
-💋
omg anon life has been busy but i’ve been meaning to answer this! since panic attacks present themselves differently and people have different strategies in dealing with them i’m gonna try and keep this as general as i can!
if the panic attack happened at work or in a situation that was in a less controlled environment, wilson would definitely recognize the signs of your anxiety as they began to present themselves (being the perceptive person he is) and be able to direct you to a place that’s more private where you can work through it and hopefully eventually calm down
maybe the first time it happens he’s a bit caught off guard but just does his best to help you through it and keep your breathing steady and lower your heart rate, but as time goes on and it becomes clear this is a reality for you he’d take a little more time and extra care, even preemptively asking you if there are any strategies that have helped you in the past that he can use
initially you feel like you’re being a burden to him by having him help you deal with this, but in reality all he wants is for you to be okay and he hates seeing you in such a stressed an anxious state that it’s second nature to help you get out of it
if you have an attack in a public place his first action is to get you somewhere more private, if you’re in the street maybe it’s an alleyway, in a mall maybe the back halls that lead to the washrooms, that sort of thing. after he gets you in a more secluded area where you can’t focus on the prying eyes he uses whatever techniques he knows work for you and eventually when you’re somewhat removed from your heightened anxiety, he pulls you into a tight hug and you stay like that for as long as you need to level out your breathing and for your heart to slow to a normal rhythm again. he always ends with “you good?” and he won’t believe you until you’re verbally able to respond and say “good” back to him and getting back to whatever it was you were doing you’re always sure to take it easy and slow and it’s comforting knowing that someone knows you so well, even when you’re so panicked you can’t think straight, they can pull you out of it every time

Can you please do promot 10 and 12 with Sam wilson please?
.⋆。The Cleansing Rain。⋆.
Sam Wilson x plus size reader
The fight was bad, really bad but neither of you wanted to stop loving the other
Warnings: mentions of the snap, fighting, angst, implied ptsd
WC: 752
Minors DNI
Tumblr media
3000 Follower Celebration
The fight had lasted for days and you both were exhausted. It had sparked over something insignificant that you couldn’t really give a shit about anymore and then blew up to the point where you and Sam were screaming in each other’s faces.
Sam felt you were pulling away from him, not as loving as you used to be. You returned back that he was dead for five years and you had to learn to live without him.
You thought Sam was being entitled to your affections when he did nothing for you in return. He snapped that he had a job to do, he and Bucky had to protect people who couldn’t protect themselves.
But everything broke down when you wondered if the relationship was even worth saving. It was obvious that you had changed immensely since the blip while your partner was left behind to pick up the pieces of what used to be his life while still trying to be a hero.
“If you aren’t happy here then just fucking leave!” You screamed at him but really you were begging him not to go.
“You know what I think I will because I can’t stand this shit anymore.” But he was pleading to stay.
“Go!” Tears burned behind your eyes but you refused to let them fall, refused to let him see how you were breaking all over again.
“Fine!” The front door slammed behind him, shaking the foundations of your home and your heart. You didn’t see the way his shoulders fell, he didn’t see how you crumbled.
He left without saying ‘I love you’. You let him go without saying ‘I love you’.
That was almost a week ago and you felt like you were dying. The house was too quiet, your bed too empty. Every time the old floorboards creaked, your head shot up, expecting to see Sam in the doorway, a bright smile on his face, his dark eyes sparkling. But he was never there.
You kept the TV on constantly, too scared of the silence. So that’s how you heard about the storm.
Sam hated storms, he always had. He’d always get scared when lightning struck and thunder rolled. The night he asked you to be his girlfriend was during a storm like the one about to hit Louisiana. He had burst into your home, eyes wide with fear and collapsed into your arms, his whole body trembling. You wrapped him up in the softest blanket you could find and distracted him with things from shitty puns to singing to him. And when the power finally gave out, he took you into his arms and asked you to be his.
As the skies darkened above the small ocean town, anxiety bubbled in your stomach. ‘Was Sam somewhere safe?’ ‘Who was looking out for him?’ ‘Did they know what to do if he had an attack?’
Before you could think, your shoes were on and you were out the door. There were only two places he would be- his sister’s or Bucky’s. The first drops of rain started to fall as you ran through the streets, gunning for Sarah’s house.
Your feet pounded against the pavement in time with the beating of your heart. The fog closed in around you as fat water droplets smacked you in the face, getting more intense by the second.
Yet still you ran.
“Y/N!” The voice was distant, muffled but it was still the voice you needed to hear the most.
“Sam!” His silhouette stood against the blur of the rain.
You collided together almost painfully but you didn’t care. His arms were around you again, you both were whole again. “Sam I’m sorry I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have said that you were being selfish.” He shook his head and squeezed your thick waist even tighter.
“I was being selfish. You were doing so much for me and I did nothing to help you.” You laughed sadly, your tears mixing with the rain.
“Maybe we were both being dumb.” He laughed that laugh you loved so much and your chest warmed even though your clothes were now thoroughly soaked through with frigid water.
“Maybe we were.” Your arms wrapped around his neck and brought his lips closer to yours.
“Come home.” You whispered just above the din of the storm.
“I’m already home.” And as he kissed you in the freezing rain, all the pain was washed away, even if it was just for a little while.

Been seeing a bit about of the MAwS version of Deathstroke on my feed recently with not a little outrage at his twunkiness or not-dilfness or something and that he might be a little bit pathetic.
Well!
Comics Slade Wilson can be VERY MUCH a pathetic wet meow meow of a man. Here he is in the series end of his latest title, Deathstroke vol. 4 # 50 (2016-2020):
Tumblr media
This takes place after his showdown with an alternate Slade Wilson from the Dark Multiverse. He's reconciling with his ex-wife - you know, the one who shot his eye out - and cooking Christmas Eve dinner for the family. Of which, William "Billy" Wintergreen is an honorary member. Just look at Slade's little purple house slippers!
More scans from this series end under the cut:
Tumblr media
Rose and Joseph, Slade's kids, and Adeline also greet Wintergreen. So domestic! And look at Joey using wifi to speak through his mom's house speakers. Yes, Joseph Wilson aka Jericho - canonically bisexual - is very much alive in DC Rebirth (and his story is wild and dramatic, tragic and uplifting)! [If something awful happened to Jericho after this issue, let me know.]
Then Slade and Billy go down to the basement to have a little chat.
Tumblr media
Looking at the basement, Slade is definitely settled in for the long haul. He has his 'man-cave', need I remind you, in the basement. He's definitely playing nice with the ex no matter how many knife fights they get into with each other. And here he explains to Wintergreen, that he was going to play dead because it would be best for everyone - meaning his family. He may be absolutely sure of his deadly abilities, but his personal ones? Not so much. He's a dangerous guy! It's bad for the kids!
But he's still retired, just not in hiding anymore. He's going to be a responsible partner and father, darn it!
Take a long look at his famous Deathstroke sword, placed in retired honor on the wall, because it will be important in a bit.
Tumblr media
You heard the man, Billy, Deathstroke is done! And they still have Christmas dinner to take care of!
Tumblr media
Aw, look at this picture of domestic bliss. Adeline and Wintergreen are talking shop; Rose and Joey are playing a video game and being very sibling. But, OH NO, look at Slade and his body language. He's sitting pressed against the corner of the sofa, still in his little purple house slippers, just absolutely slumped and not having a good time. SLADE! SLADE WILSON! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!
Tumblr media
His family's chatter just becomes noise in the background as he replays - from earlier in the issue - darker Slade's words in his head. And darker Slade said these same words to him TWICE. Telling him that he - our Slade Wilson - ruined all the good things in his life, that he did it to himself.
So he goes to get the turkey out of the oven.
Tumblr media
More domestic stuff, aww 🧡 But where's our man Slade? Billy goes to check.
Tumblr media
Turkey abandoned. Back door open. And the infamous Deathstroke sword RIPPED OFF THE WALL AND OUT OF RETIREMENT.
Tumblr media
And there he is folks, Deathstroke, back in the shadows. Slade Wilson abandoned his family AGAIN! Slade Wilson, you pathetic wet meow meow of a man! You just cannot - absolutely CANNOT - allow yourself to be happy.
I would say that he isn't doomed by the narrative, but that he dooms himself; but if we were talking CLASSIC TRAGEDY, he has this absolutely fatal flaw that dooms him to be alone. And in a metatextual sense, that's also true, because he's become one of DC's banner villains. They will not let him retire, become anything but a morally dark gray character, so they gave him this ironclad flaw:
What can you take from a man who has nothing? Give him something first.
And Slade Wilson would rather have nothing because he's already lost too much.

the way house and Wilson always come back to each other, no matter what, no matter the women they date, will always resonate with me.
I guess you could say I learned what true love is from fictional media. I learned what love is from fanfiction and the interpretation of fictional characters' relationships, if that makes sense.
And I think about house and Wilson, because, like I said, no matter what they went through, who they were with in whatever way, they ended up together in the very very end. Till death do them fucking part. And that fucks with me, because never before have I seen two characters in so much love(in whatever sense of the word) than I have with them, and never have I related more than with them. I love my partner the way I see them loving each other. Till death do them part. The way the series ends, the way they are interpreted to die together, it's insane to me. And it's so relatable. I'm drunk and I'm rambling but dude seriously I love my partner so much, she is my best friend first, before anything else, she is who I want to spend my life with, and when I see house literally fake his fucking death to be with Wilson for the rest of his life, that hurts. So good
