Why doesn't anyone talk about how cool Henrik is? He's my favorite character 😭🔥💔
I find it funny that Silver has Henrik blood in his
If no one had died, it would have turned out that he taught him how to rule the kingdom (after all, the Knight of the Dawn of course is a knight, and Henrik is a king)
Things are steamrolling ahead and I have no idea what's going on haha. I'm sure other people have mentioned/solved some of the things I will mention, but I guess this post is more for me trying to keep track of what is going on haha
There seems to be a Princess Leia/Leya, which may be referencing Queen Leah, who is Aurora's mother in the original 1959 Sleeping Beauty. It is said he's very beautiful, and also Henrik's sister. Henrik is not considered a savory person to be around, and not as attractive compared to Princess Leia. I believe Henrik in the captain of the SIlver Owls. I thought I didn't know who was based on, until I looked at King Stefan (more on that later)...
It's rumored that Princess Leia is in love with the Dawn Knight, which is where I get a little confused. From what we know of the Knight of Dawn/ the Dawn Knight, he's extremely handsome, strong to the point where even the fae fear him, and is basically the classical knight in shining armor. Where I get confused is that the Knight of Dawn has golden hair, and Lilia says it is rumored that he was "gifted" with beauty. This description of the Dawn Knight's appearance sounds...awfully familiar to Aurora?
Since this is TWST, I shouldn't take the references too seriously, but I'm hung up on how he was "gifted" with beauty. Aurora was given the gift of beauty by Fauna (which kinda fits the nature-esque theme we have atm). However, this Dawn Knight is, well, a knight. We don't know his name, I believe, but if he is based off Aurora, the story would turn out rather differently.
Edit: Now im even more confused! I thought I solved the case, but the Sleeping Beauty mentions that Aurora was "named after the dawn." Hello?? Perhaps Aurora really was a badass knight in the TWST universe lmao
There is the chance that the Dawn Knight has some connection to King Stefan, however. King Stefan was Aurora's father, and didn't play a major role in the original movie.
However, in the 2014 live-action disney movie, Maleficent, King Stefan betrays Maleficent by cutting off her wings to win King HENRY'S favor. Henrik is heavily related to name Henry, and King Henry was the father to Queen Leila. King Henry waged the war against the Moors, and passed the duty onto King Stefan after his death, and with Aurora's curse, this all transformed King Stefan into a tyrant.
Perhaps the Knight of Dawn draws inspiration from King Stefan, and Henrik draws inspiration from King Henry?? Instead of being Leia's father, Henrik is Princess Leia's brother, which still has a signifcant connection to the movie. The name Henrik also means "Lord of the House," which may further imply that the similarities are intentional.
Later, Silver is mistaken for "that person," but it couldn't be the Knight of Dawn because Silver doesn't have that blond hair or imposing figure. Did the Dawn Knight and Princess Leia already have a child? Because I have no idea who "that person" could be yet, but the Silver Owls seemed to have a positive view on "that person."
I'm also wondering over the nature of Silver's sleepiness. He says so himself, how it's extremely unusual and no doctor or mage can figure out what it is. Silver seems to have some connection to the War time period, and I think it may have something to with his sleeping blessing/curse. Idia says that the magic behind a blessing or curse is very similar, but the intent behind it (e.g positive or negative) that distinguishes the two. Going back to Sleeping Beauty, Aurora would technically have both a blessing and a curse, the curse from Maleficent and the blessing/loophole from Merryweather.
But what does this all mean???
I have no idea haha. I'm just trying to figure out these maybe-important NPCs before trying to delve into the whole Levan mess haha. If y'all have any ideas or corrections, please share! I'm very intruiged by the direction this story is going.

i LOVE quoting Raiden Ei onto book 7, it fits so well 🥲💔
My saddest thought right now is that Meleanor "actually cried" when she left Malleus to Lilia, that's why there was a sudden thunderstorm when she appeared before the Silver Owls. (Its not just for badass purposes shjdsj) There's no tears but the skies easily gives away what she truly feels😭 She wanted to experience Malleus growing up too‼️😭 Same thing with Knight of Dawn.... He died already from protecting Leia and the three fairies with Silver,,,, He didn't even had THE CHANCE TO NAME HIS SON unlike Meleanor,, 😭💔💔
And you're telling me that the closest he got to his son was to smile at him from a distance, seeing that he has people that he can trust (Sebek and Yuu), and even before that moment, he didn't use his memory to save Silver out of the darkness (I theorized that the reason we saw "the memories of Lilia"in 7.5 is bcs Silver's ring is trying to save him from the darkness by reminding him of Lilia's love for him and we know where that ring came from--) HE SAVED HIS OWN SON BY REMINDING HIM OF LILIA'S LOVE NOT HIS LOVE GOD-- i think about knight of dawn for more than 5 minutes and I AM WHACKED IN TEARS
WHEN is my hugging scene between these princes and their parents 😭😭😭
i'm still in absolute awe over my commission from @cozymochi !!! thank you again so much for bringing to life my vision of prince!silver and his fae bodyguard!!! <333333
What if king Henrik managed to steal Malleus's egg after defeating Meleanor?
The main point is that the egg WOULDN'T hatch because it needs love (and even in canon it took a couple of centuries to hatch, despite the presence of Lillia and Maleficia).
So after a few tries, he discards his plans and keeps the egg as a trophy. Years pass and a five year-old Silver finds the trophy room while playing. He stumbles into the pedestal holding the egg, but manages to save it before it falls.
The child then senses a tiny heartbeat, and realizes there is a baby inside the egg!
The egg hatches immediately. Baby Silver loved it at once (the way he did once upon a dream).
And that's how we get a Dragon Prince journey (sorta).
After the dragon hatched, Silver went to talk with his animal friends to see if they could help (he loves his parents, but he couldn't just tell them he went to the trophy room to play, some instinct of his was also telling him they couldn't be trusted).
He left the little dragon under the care of a mother bear and went to the library to see if he could find anything. He came across a few old books from before the Silver Owls that described the Draconias (the little prince was so excited! His dragon friend could become a friend friend! He didn't have any friends besides the animals! And the dragon was even a fellow prince!)
But first things first! His dragon friend needed to meet his actual family, they were probably worried sick! So he grabbed a few maps, marked out the closest fae castle, told his parents he would go play with the animals in the woods and left.
The trek was very long and dangerous, but the entire forest was on his side. Baby Silver kept talking to Malleus, explaining life as a prince, introducing his animal friends, and trying to find out if he liked to eat berries.
They avoided war-stricken areas and managed to reach fae territory. And that's when things took a turn for the worse.
Henrik and the Silver Owls found them. Apparently, the egg was missing and a search party was assembled to follow its magical traces. Baby Silver didn't know that, and went to greet his uncle, saying that he was helping out a friend find his family!!
Henrik looked at his nephew, then at the dragon, and went for the kill, literally. The kid couldn't even defend himself, as his uncle cut him down with a simple strike (dawn knight was at home).
And that's when baby Malleus's magic blew up.
A snowstorm of cataclysmic proportions struck, complete with fire tornados and lightning. At the center of it all stood two children, the tiny Silver that was bleeding out, and Malleus, who had taken a human form and was trying to close the wound (he changed forms because he was scared and emulated the only thing he could think of as strong and protection, and that thing was five year-old Silver). Meanwhile, all of the animals formed a protective circle around them.
Luckily, reinforcements soon arrived. Both Lillia and Maleficia came (that storm could only be a Draconia's doing, they would NOT lose the egg again). They made quick work of the rest of the Silver Owls before rushing to Malleus's aid.
The animals let the faes though, as if they knew the dragon had finally found his kin. But Malleus wouldn't let go of Silver, even when the kid started telling him "Look, we found your family!! You're safe!", smiling despite the pain and looming death.
With the use of "Far Cry Cradle", Lillia quickly explained the situation, and the faes made the decision to save the human. They had a much too big debt with this child, who was so innocent it hurt.
They were also keeping the human. If that despicable man was his UNCLE, then no way in hell were the rulers of Briar Valley going to give the child back to his family. It would be a disgrace to the Draconia family.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, there a a few ways this AU could go.
1. The faes weren't able to save Silver. They create a monument in his honor and he becomes the only human they respect. Relations with the Silver Owls may improve now that Henrik is dead, if they can convince Dawn Knight his son died to save Malleus.
2. The faes save Silver, who lives in Briar Valley until the end of his mortal lifespan, acting as Malleus's big brother and knight. The Silver Owls are angry, but eventually come to an agreement once they realize there was no mind control involved.
3. The faes manage to save Silver, but the wounds were so grave that he had to stay in magic stasis for a few hundred years. Receiving the BOTW Shrine of Ressurection treatment. Due to the nature of the magic, he lost his memories, got silver hair and became sleepy. He later wakes up and becomes the Silver we all know and love. Malleus still sees him as the older brother, but thinks that now it's his turn to protect the human!
Kind of losing my mind a little about the parallels of love and destruction going on in TWST right now. Maleanor left her egg with Lilia and went and fought and died to the Knight of Dawn believing she had to do so to protect her child.
The Knight of Dawn fought and killed Maleanor and died as well because he was forced to by Henrik but also because he believed he had to do so to protect his own child.
Malleus, in the egg, refused to hatch for anyone - including his grandmother - essentially throwing a baby dragon tantrum and only finally emerging when Lilia was called back and managed to hatch him through the strength of his love for both Malleus and his parents.
Then later Lilia finds baby Silver, alone in the woods, the child of his enemy, sleeping in stasis until he encounters someone who is capable of truly loving him. And when Lilia goes to him, he wakes up.
Malleus and Silver are bound to each other by their parallel births, by being awoken by Lilia’s boundless capacity for love, and by this little ostracized and looked down upon bat fae who became father for them both.
Seeing what the Silver Owls did to Meleanor’s castle is upsetting, but what immediately caught my eye was the shift from silver to gold. Despite being the “Silver” Owls, their royals definitely have a connection with gold, compared to Meleanor’s silver. Henrik has golden details on his armor, and Silver and the Dawn Knight have a golden ring.
And then I thought about my Crowley/Levan theory…as I always do haha. Crowley wears gold- LOTS of it. Sure, it’s just his color palette and likely inspired by the Magic Mirror, but I recently made a post about the Twisted Wonderland Comic Anthology cover, and I noticed the design on his mask.
…Doesn’t it resemble the design on the Dawn Knight’s armor? Even with the way it curls and the shape of the leaves looks oddly similar. The Dawn Knight is the only Silver Owl to have such a prominent placing of this design- although the armor does feature a similar design on Henrik’s breastplate. The regular Silver Owl NPCs do not have this design, so we can assume it’s from the royal family.
Side note, it’s interesting how crows/ravens and owls are genetically predisposed to hate each other. Both species invade each others nests, but larger owl species are more likely to prey on baby or even adult crows. Of course, owls are nocturnal and crows/ravens are diurnal, but on the rare occasion they do cross paths- often when an owl is out in the daytime, crows will mob owls, and remember very well if an owl has killed one of their own, and instinctively chase after an owl for both revenge and to protect themselves.
Idk it’s just interesting that the Silver Owls are OWLS of all things, considering that the owl in Sleeping Beauty wasn’t very relevant. Knowing that Levan, Crowley, and Night RAVEN College exist, it would be a very odd coincidence for the Silver Owls to be named like that. Perhaps the RSA really was inspired by the Silver Owls??
Now, I can’t confidently say what happened to Levan. But knowing that Henrik LITERALLY planned to enslave Malleus and use him as a steed in his dragon form is…hm.
I don’t know, it just makes me wonder what exactly happened to Levan when he went missing- missing when he was headed to the Eastern Fort, that was consistently under attack by the Silver Owls and the Dawn Knight. I’m sure if they captured him beforehand, they definitely would’ve used it a bargaining chip against Meleanor.
But seeing Crowley with the gold and the same designs on his mask as the Dawn Knight, and can likely transform into a bird as well, similar to Malleus turning into a dragon…it just makes me think about what potentially happened to Levan if he was captured by the Silver Owls :(
Notes: Angst, fluff? Meleanor's little sister!reader, chief strategist!reader, human-fae war era.
Contains my twst OC Midnight.
Midnight followed his beloved princess out to where the humans stood their ground, fully armed and ready to take the lives of whoever approached them. Midnight himself was a human, in fact, he was the very one who had once attempted the assassination of princess [Y/N] Draconia. The very princess to whom he had sworn complete allegiance and the fragile threads that vested his life.
He had grown up an orphan, forced into an occupation as brutal as assassination by his own race. His arctic blue eyes had held the coldness of all the winters, kindness was far from what he had. He had taken the lives of numerous fae kind, his hands were stained with deep smears of their blood that would unceasingly serve as a recollection of his immoral deeds that were nothing short of perverseness.
Yet this very princess whom he had been told to assassinate, had forgiven him, even taken him as one of her own. She'd made him the leader of her private military squadron- the Midnight Solstice. He remembered not what his real name was. Midnight was the name the princess had given him. And it was the only name that held any sort of importance to him.
He'd foolishly fallen in love with her. He, a lowly human, had fallen in love with a fae princess. He had fallen into the trenches of admiration for a woman who would never be his as was decided by the differences between their races. He could never dare to tell her he loved her.
Not only that, the princess held someone else close to her heart. [Y/N]'s heart belonged to the Right General of Briar Valley's army, Lilia Vanrouge. Midnight understood quite little of why she loved him, given how they constantly bickered with each other, but he could not bring himself to intervene in his princess' love. He would follow her to the bitter end. That was his duty as her trusted assassin.
Face to face they now were, with the Knight of Dawn, Henrik and the rest of the Silver Owls in glistening metal armour over which the light bounced off to yonder.
"We come to negotiate peace. If you make no move, we shall listen to your demands." [Y/N] declared. Even at a time like this, Midnight's princess did not hesitate to show kindness and forgiveness to those who were willing to resonate with her pleas and respond in kind.
"Peace?! With you damned witches? You think you have any right?!" Henrik yelled in quite the odious manner. Midnight clicked his tongue, having to hold himself back from wrenching off that insolent pig's head.
"Then you leave me no choice." [Y/N] scanned the grounds. She had bought enough time apparently. Midnight could also spot Princess Meleanor, the General and his aide running with the egg into the dense woods of Briar Valley.
"Hah! As if an immoral creature like you is capable of anything!" Henrik jabbed a short, stubby finger at her. Midnight had to inhale to calm himself. No stabbing big ugly pigs with foul mouths and no cutting their miserable fingers. He had to wait for [Y/N]'s orders.
The fae princess took in a deep breath before whispering. "Remains of the worlds beyond, assist my need to conquer that which has been sought. Reign of Conqueror." [Y/N] staggered, Midnight helping her up as a dense, crimson mist dissipated across the grounds. Midnight shielded himself and [Y/N] with his defense magic, watching as every soldier fell into a deep sleep, one which could never be awakened from. No true love, no magic could awaken them. They'd rot into bones in this very manner. They were as good as dead.
[Y/N] coughed up blood, falling to her knees. The usually sprightly princess looked now pale and sickly, the pieces of her face shattering into red fragments and slowly scattering into the winds.
"Princess!" Midnight crouched beside her. His heart felt as if it had been beat with a hammer. Panic flashed in his eyes. He had known this would happen. He had let her do this as he was in no position to disobey the orders of one who had saved his life.
"Midnight." The princess clutched the arm of her trusted assassin weakly. "Did I do good?" Her other arm had already broken away into crimson fragments, the very same shade of crimson as her beloved Lilia's eyes. Her torso was now slowly breaking up into similar pieces.
"Of course, princess." Midnight struggled with his words. He disliked how awkward he was with words. He disliked how he could not say the words [Y/N] wished to hear. He hated himself. So much.
"I love you, Midnight. Tell big sis Meleanor I l-loved her. Baul and the castle staff too." the princess spoke weakly. She was now almost gone. "I wish I could see big brother Levan one last time." she choked on a sob. The assassin's heart broke as he held her. He struggled to breathe, struggled to come to terms with reality as he watched his loved one perish in his arms.
"And tell that idiot Lilia-" [Y/N]'s face was now fading away. "He had better marry me. I love him."
And with that, the last of her was gone. Princess [Y/N] Draconia, gone from this world, without a trace.
It's 2am and I have been having Too Many Thoughts about the dynamics between Henrick and The Knight of Dawn (whom I have dubbed the name "Seraph" to make it easier to brainrot about in discord dms)
Spoilers under the cut, also I'm basically typing this out as I play so it's like a liveblog sort of.
Malenora is That Bitch
Sorry, ahem. Malenora is a QUEEN (technically a Princess but my point stands)
Absolutely loving her design aaaaahhhh! The horns! The headpiece! The DRIP!
Sorry, I'll try to stop simping.
You can see such an intense resemblance between Malenora and Malleus obviously in appearance but also personality.
They both breathe confidence and self assurance because they're so powerful, both are fairly temperamental, though Malenora seems to be more brash and lashes out with tantrums while Malleus - perhaps due to his father - tends to sulk more than he does explode with anger, though the lightning and bad weather happens with both of them.
Moving on, her relationship with Lilia is interesting. You definitely get the sense that he may have harbored romantic feelings for her when they were younger but at this point truly loves her as something even beyond that, and different.
I swear I nearly started crying in public when they were squabbling over Lilia taking the Egg and leaving Malenora to fight the Knight of Dawn and Lilia was like I can't love this baby for you, I've never loved anybody, I still need you, this baby needs you.
And Malenora fucking hits him with You love me. You love Levan - there simply isn't any way for you not to love our child when you love us so much.
Oh shit I'm crying just typing that.
Anyway
And you know it really hit me in that moment that Lilia's earlier comments about not liking weak things like children - it isn't true, not even then. To love something powerless and weak and fragile means risking your own heart. Just as easily as they could lose their life, you could break your own heart. Lilia has always been afraid.
And when he lost Malenora - someone who he loved, who was the strongest person he knew - died anyway, and left her Love in and Egg, he had to accept that being hurt wasn't something anyone could live without risking.
Moving on, the Knight of Dawn is still a mystery to me, but he doesn't actually seem evil. Apparently he's an orphan who owes a life debt to the previous King, and is in a relationship with the princess Reia. And of course he helped the entourage escape with the Egg - an act I think ultimately saved Silver's life and Lilia's own humanity, among the other obvious things.
Henrik also needs to fucking die what a goddamn bastard KILL HIM MALENORA (I know she doesn't make it but I think she should still get to kill this dude AT LEAST)
Silver losing his shit is kind of understandable after all this, I get it. It hurts me to see him blame himself for literally just being born though he did nothing wrong he was an ACTUAL BABY PLEASE THINK RATIONALLY. Literally if anyone else were out in that situation you know this doofus would be like yeah literally none of this was your fault of course you deserve to live and be happy. But shits not that easy I get it.
Also I actually laughed a little during that scene where Lilia finds baby Silver and he's like STOP CRYING BITCH YOU DONT HAVE THE RIGHT
Like dude I get you're mad at yourself and all but your still yelling at a literal baby please stop 😭
Oh bonus points, I ALSO cried when I found out Lilia's Unique Magic is literally called Farcry Cradle. Like. This man who insisted for literal centuries that he wasn't capable of warmth or love and that he didn't like weak things or children and his UM called FARCRY CRADLE.
全ては過ぎ去る日のようにどこへ向かうもの瞬きの間よ、遠くの揺りかごまで
Also Silver was BLONDE???
Also Malleus being like Aw Shit, What Do I Do With This Thing with baby Silver was great. Love that.
Also totally forgot to just say I'm a bit shook that Silver was actually frozen in time for 100+ years and not a descendent. Was genuinely not expecting that.
Also got me FUCKED UP with the acorn bracelet being a gift from child!Silver like how much more emotional damage am I going to have to endure exactly
NOOO BABY OF COURSE LILIA LOVES YOU
Sidenote child Sebek and Silver are adorable
Cackling at child Sebek having Zero Chill.
He'll yeah, Sebek Unique Magic! "Living Bolt" is very appropriate for him! Pimp slap that boy (Silver) awake!
Silver: Malleus and Lilia probably hate me.
Me, out loud: shut the fuck up. Stop letting your lizard brain control you!
Sebek: *proceeds to immediately deck him*
Good job Sebek!
Sebek is so baby honestly.
Sebek is so right, what a king. I really love how Sebek shows Silver that he's loved. Look at how strong you are - who gave you that strength (love?)
Also I'm always a sucker for that trope when a character who doesn't have any self confidence ends up accusing the people who love them of lying, and really their own self-denegration ends up hurting the very people they care about. How hurtful and insulting it is to have your own moral character and your heartfelt affection for a person be tossed aside in favor of propping up someone's self hatred.
When Silver was like they cant love me and Sebek really said don't you fucking disrespect me or Lilia-Sama like that again. Yeah.
Thankfully Silver regains some clarity and they move along shounen-style, very good.
Oh man the battles for this chapter were actually kind of a pain.
Also tbh I don't know how to feel about them using a recolored version if Silver's 2D rig for the Knight of Dawn. It looks off, personally.
Also in a separate post I made, I said Malleus was like an uncle in their quartet but this whole Book has made it fairly clear that he's more of an older brother. With how long it takes for fae to mature, especially long-lived ones like Dragons, it's clear that Malleus is more like a 16 year old whose parents suddenly busted out a new kid.
