SoC Post-CK Fanfic

I actually don't really remember where the idea or inspiration for this fic came from. I think I found out about whump and I was like "huh interesting interesting". I also liked the idea of expanding the slave trade in the Grishaverse beyond what we had seen from Inej's past and anything we thought we might see from her in the future. I wanted the biggest of bad and I wanted this grand epic adventure that was still a heist and still the crows. I also decided Matthias is still alive because what do fanfic writers get to do in their fics? Make the rules, yes that's right. More info below!

Characters: Jesper Fahey, Kaz Brekker, Nina Zenick, Inej Ghafa, Wylan Van Eck, Matthias Helvar, side-tertiary OCs

"Back of Book" Summary: The crows are back in Ketterdam. All together again, only for Jesper to go missing the next morning. The situation is dire, and Jesper's gone from Ketterdam. Kaz Brekker for once feels two steps behind his new opponent. But they were the Crows. They protected their own, and did anything to do it, even if it includes giving up parts of themselves along the way.

I adore this series. Its about the Kanej, Helnik, and Wesper children (they're about 17- 18yrs). Basically, the kids are best friends / siblingy and hang out. They get into trouble, and it's just fluff. I LOVE IT. The children are so like they're parents and their dynamics are so entertaining. Would definitely recommend it if it sounds like something you'll enjoy. The author is so nice

Him to Her-A Helnik tale

He was quiet anger.

He was quiet outside but his eyes screamed, screamed with the strength of a revolution, and he always seemed to be biting his tongue, holding something back.

Not with her. He opened his eyes to her; opened his mouth, his mind. They spoke of war, and waffles and how they were all too young for all of this.

Never had she been so unafraid to open herself. When he spoke he glowed, when he truly shared himself it was so beautiful to witness, like poetry from a lonely child finally being heard, and the child knew how powerful the words they spoke were.

He unlocked things inside like Kaz could destroy physical locks.

He seemed to adore her, and she knew how much she adored him. His quiet anger was powerful, and his love was overwhelming. She thought she would drown in him, but they kept afloat together, heartbeats in perfect time with each other, and with the world.

with all my six of crows brain rot and the hunger games trending, it won't get out of my head...

...the crows in the hunger games

so i've written a really freaking long fanfic about it. introducing…sleep till death (ao3)

kaz brekker: leader of the dregs in district 12 and brother to one of the many victims of the hunger games. inej ghafa: a girl doing her best to care for her little brother in district 11 after their parents mysterious disappearance, no matter the cost.

jesper fahey: a secret grisha in district 11, forced to be entered for the games to keep his powers hidden.

nina zenik: a grisha rebel from district 8 who volunteered to save the life of another.

matthias helvar: member of the druskelle in district 2, training to be a peacekeeper, determined to slaughter any grisha who dares to try and win the games.

wylan van eck: the disappointment of a victor family from district 1, reaped by the influence of his father and expected to never return home.

may the odds be ever in their favor.

quick absolutely unimportant unwarranted and definitely theoretical question: of which of these au premises might sound the most interesting for a soc fic?

band au would be on the longer side, might follow events from the book more closely. more serious and angsty. random thought but idk what genre their band would be. maybe like indie rock?

all-happen-to-be-employed-at-the-same-coffee shop au- medium length, probably would focus on a new plot just using the characters backstories. some fluff, and a bit of drama and angst to go around.

twitch streamers au (i say this as an almost entirely non-gamer writer who just likes watching streams sometimes) short, mostly fluffy one-shots, and again, just using the characters' backstories/arcs

modern-day prison break au- likely pretty long, probably would be the darkest/most dramatic one out of the options.
