Okay, we've all seen that one best/worst boyfriend chart our friend Ken Wakui made.

Personally, I threw a fit when I saw who were the worst.

Then I thought about Nahoya. He seemed a bit like a fuck boy, you get what I mean? Yeah, no.

Then I thought about it again

I examined the post a bit more after I found it in English and read what Takemichi said. If Mikey and Kazutora would be the top worst because they're reckless, Nahoya would obviously be even tamer

So personally, I believe Nahoya is in the top three just because he has a carefree type of living way. Like, he isn't scared of fighting, killing, and all. I mean, he probably IS scared to kill but doesn't show it.

How's he a red flag again? I don't believe them.

But for one, he'd never cheat on you. He'll be loyal as hell. Maybe if he wasn't in a relationship in one of the time skips where it showed the top members he'd fuck around with chicks (straight hair grown up Nahoya gives me fuckboy energy), but since the change and he's now working with his brother In their ramen shop? Get that thing out of your head.

Because for him to get in a relationship, he must dearly love and respect you.

Keep in mind that he also has to trust you since, in one way, if you're not to be trusted and/or are somewhat dangerous, he's putting his brother in danger as well.

But that's besides the point.

He loves you.

It's painfully obvious

He protects you, he trusts you, he spoils you in his own ways

He loves you

Maybe it's past relationship trauma that causes you to think it's all a facade

Which brings us to today's scenario

You're in Nahoya's room since his brother is out all day and you didn't bother to fix yours

You were looking around his room while he was testing the new straightener you got him since his broke

Examining the objects around you, your eyes land on a frame right above his toman uniform. It was of you two

You wondered why he would frame such a picture on the wall over his gang uniform. You mostly didn't like it because you hated the way you came out in the picture

Getting off his bed, you walked over to the opposite wall and stared at the picture for a good minute

Nahoya noticed that from the reflection on the mirror in front of him, but his smile just grew a tad bit more and returned to straightening his hair

You pursed your lips together in thought and reached to grab it

"Oi!" He exclaimed with a giggle. "Hands off."

You flinched when he suddenly spoke and turned to him with a raised brow

"What? Why?"

"Because," He turned around to face you. "I know you'll throw the pic away."

You weren't going to lie. If you stared at it for a bit more, you would've made the paper rip itself. You hated how you came out!

"But I look horrible!"

"I know." He laughed, but it quickly died down to a chuckle when he saw you glaring at him. "I'm kidding, babe. You look hella cute!"

You quickly turned around to hide the blush that appeared on your face. Crossing your arms, you were still staring at the picture

Being too caught in the act, you didn't realize when Nahoya finally finished straightening his hair and came up to you. He loosely wrapped his arms around your waist and rested his chin on your shoulder, mockingly copying your slightly frustrated face

You noticed that and rolled your eyes with a soft groan, which earned you some snickering from him. He pressed a kiss to your cheek before nuzzling his own to yours

"Why did you frame this?"

"Because it's special."

"How is it special?" Your voice grew confused. It's just a picture, nothing much

"Reminds me of the main reason I never give up."

Your blood went cold. What?

"What do you mean by that?"

"You're my main priority, babe. You, your safety, your smile." He chuckled at how cheesy he sounded. "That's why I framed us right over my gang uniform. Every time I have to change for a brawl or even just a meeting, I'm reminded of the smile that will greet me in the end and will always be there."

That didn't sound like Nahoya. For a moment, you even thought if that wasn't just some doppelganger

Until he smacked your ass

He loves you, and without realizing it, he just made all your problems fade away

Looking at the picture now, maybe, just maybe, it isn't as bad as you thought it was.

Let's be honest, if your love language is quality time this won't work

Not that he won't want to spend time with you, but Juvenile? Sorry baby, they stole him from you

Kazutora loves you so much. He'd kill for you, and he'll die for you. No questions asked. He once even tried to break out from Juvenile because he couldn't take being far away from you anymore.

You visit him every day for as long as you can, bringing him gifts, telling stories, saying how much you miss him

But sometimes you wondered, does he love you?

"Baby!" A happy Kazutora exclaimed when you finally entered the meeting room and waited for you with a happy smile to sit down, on the opposite side of him, thick glass keeping you both separate.

"Hey, baby." You chuckled, adjusting in your seat.

It wasn't a lie how excited he was every day to see you. Sometimes, like today, he'd make you small diy gifts and show them off to you, explaining every minor detail from the inspiration, materials, hidden message, time taken, everything

And you kept them all on a special separate shelf in your room

"So that's my gift for you today! Do you like it?"

"I love it, 'Tora."

It was a small origami rose, which was actually very well made, considering he had to use his imagination

You both talk for a few moments before the chattering died down. You knew what that meant and quickly wiped the already falling tears

You hated this

You hated how close yet how far he was from you

You just wanted to break the damn glass and embrace him, never letting go

And he damn well knows he wants it too

But he can't, and neither can you

He was recently taken in, 3 years ago

Which means he'll be out in 7 years

Which felt like a lifetime for both of you

His biggest fear was you'd find someone new and leave him

Which he wouldn't even be mad about, considering he just ruined both your lives

But you stay consistent, you visit every single day, and even if you don't manage to, you always send him gifts and make up for it when you see each other.

But people's patience runs out at some point, and that point is today

You never meant to say this

You never meant to question his love for you because you both knew it was there and growing every passing day

So why did you ask? Was it the loneliness you felt every time you stepped out of the room and he wasn't there by your side? Was it the thrust to just be able to hold his hand? Was it the pain you felt every night where, instead of saying goodnight to him, you turned to a frame with a photo of him and said it to it?

You didn't know. He didn't know

The only thing you remember after that was the sound of glass shattering, alarms going off, and Kazutora hugging onto you as if it was your last minute on Earth.

You just cling to him, never wanting to let go again

You felt the tears fall when he kissed you, feeling all his love attack you in that one moment before the guards arrived and took him away

Your little moment lasted around 10 seconds, probably even less, but it felt like eternity to both of you

Visits were banned for a week until they changed the glass into an even more thick and unbreakable one

You dashed to the building the second they opened visiting hours again

And to be fair, even if that cost him 4 more months in juvenile, it was worth it when you finally managed to continue with your lives after his sentence

It was fun and all, just spending time together until he got a message from Draken which quickly brought him to his senses

He didn't want to leave you, but he had, so with a quick kiss on the lips he was off

You waved him goodbye with a smile and called up Emma and the girl just magically teleported to you in 10 minutes

She just loves you too much

Probably fought with Mikey for your hand at some point

You were having a blast with her until you both finally settled down at a café and talked about, just, anything and everything

You decided to share your thought with Emma and she quickly jumped, reassuring you that Mikey loved you with all his hesrt

She started showing you messages he's sent her about how he felt, what to get you and all sorts of things

But our beautiful Emma had her own 'what if' thought and when Mikey got home she instantly jumped on him

It was like, 1am when you heard his bike's engine roaring from outside your window. You got up and were met with a smiling Mikey and no more sleep for tonight

"Wake up, sleepy head. We need to talk."

The moment you got down to him, you were already zooming through the streets of Tokyo, but not in a racer-fast manner, just enought so you aren't like slugs on the roads

"Emma told me that—"

"I'm sorry, Mikey... I didn't mean to—"

"Please let me finish."

He talked for like, a whole ass hour. About everything that includes you both.

He brought you to tears ngl

His words just hit so deep that the thought immediately disappeared

Maybe it was he words of affirmation he used, the quality time he spend riding all night with you to ease your worries, the gift he gave you when you watched the sunrise and the fact you woke up in your bed later on with a small letter from him and a chibi drawing of both of you at the corner that kept a smile on your face till the end of you days

And you damn well know you lived one long ass life with Manjiro

And I'm kinda surprised to be honest

Not because you could've died while he was in Toman or anything, but because your kid is 3 times worse than Mikey.

+ Your son found his old gang uniform and wore it to school. The next teacher-parent conference was one hell of a trip.

AITA for not wanting to wear matching Halloween costumes with my younger sister?

So my little sister (5f) is OBSESSED with the tv show Miraculous Ladybug and wants to dress up as Ladybug for Halloween. The issue is she also wants someone to dress up as Cat Noir (Ladybug and Cat Noir are a superhero duo and love interests for each other for those unfamiliar with the show). My sister always makes someone pretend to be Cat Noir when she plays pretend and I usually go along with her shenanigans. My mom suggested that I dress up with her as Cat Noir, an offer I turned down. Not because I don’t want to dress up at all or anything like that. I really love dressing up for Halloween and it super important to me to make the most of it!

Part of this comes from when I was younger and didn’t get much (if any) choice in my costume so I desperately try to make up for it when I’m older. For context here is a list of costumes I was made to wear and still bother me; any other years were my choice of 2 Costco on sale costumes that my mom and grandma liked best (never included my first choice and alway looker weird because my parents made me cram them over a thick set of pajamas to stay warm, sometimes with a coat of top)

3rd grade: matching with my toddler (at the time) sister, hella glittery and extra Rainbow Dash dresses, including bright blue face paint that stained my face 4/10 made the nursing home we trick or treated in super happy (fond memory) but made me super embarrassed at school

6th grade: neon pink one piece pajamas that had a neon purple tail and a raccoon face on the hood. 1/10 Got me made fun of, i literally didnt have any choice my mom brought them home from the clearance section at target and made me wear it, i got called a furry and my middle school banned hoods so it was practically useless, was too hot to be comfortable.

I had begged to dress up as a Hamilton character and have my 2 little sisters match (one also loved Hamilton and the other was an infant) i even found costumes online and stuff but my parents rejected it because they dislike the fact Hamilton had hip-hop music and were annoyed at my obsession (understandably annoyed but still hurtful)

7th grade: my moms old cat pajamas, a clip on tail that was all bent out of shape, and a uncomfortable cat headband, all covered in cheetah print and pink sequins on the seams 6/10 still got made fun of, got forced to take off the tail at school because it didn’t fit in the chair properly

In 8th grade I compiled a collection of things to dress up as a newsies, all from my grandma’s closet or my own. 8.5/10 I loved it at the time, looked bad because i did my own makeup to look dirty and like i had been beaten up.

In 9th and 10th grade i wore the same elf costume that i begged for 6 months for to match my friends, 10/10 it was pretty and I love it, wasn’t too stoked to have to wear it twice tho bc my favorite part (the corset) didn’t fit last year.

This year i want to choose something different and new, and something I wont be made fun of for and feel confident in. I’m 16, almost 17 and have bad self esteem issues. Halloween is like my favorite holiday because i love being all dressed up and being like a character i enjoy. I usually pay for part of my costume and do my own hair and makeup.

BUT my mom is dead set on the idea that I match my little sister because “i’m getting too old and should just be nice instead of being selfish” or “had plenty of years to have fun, that i should make her Halloween memorable”. When my dad or other sister (11f who also like the show, not to the same degree but does enjoy it) hell even SHE could do it with her but she insists that I should.

AITA for not wanting to? For potential messing up my little sister’s Halloween?

I love alicent bc I see a lot of myself in her, I'm someone that follows the rules and feels trapped in things bigger than her. even tho (luckily) I'm not in her situation, I do relate a lot. she's just in a very miserable place and I'd beat to death all the t*rgaryen's asses to save her. and she gets so much shit for just being a victim, it's so infuriating. ik that she's different in the book, but in the show she's just a scared girl forced to marry this putrescent king and have his babies while being a child and she can't refuse, he's the king. and this fucking idiot want kids even tho it's obvious that it's gonna to fuck everything up. and people blame her for trying to save her children. she knows how politics work and how westeros work (unlike rhaenyra), I could never blame her for that. that makes her so engaging, while the lack of this awareness makes rhaenyra so dry...and, yeah, talking about rhaenyra, people that don't follow the rules make me livid, that's one big reason I don't vibe with her (and ik that she doesn't want to follow the nonsensical and unfair rules of her world, but it's done in a way that I find lazy and not well written). I'd respect her more if she fought for her place and tried to be smart about her decisions, but she just relies on her dad and goes away for years and then she expects everyone to give her everything on a silver platter. I really don't like her, and the fact that the writers and many people think she's a feminist character makes me even more mad. she's hella passive. daenerys wasn't perfect but you can't claim she was sitting on her ass all day doing nothing, I don't like daenerys either but at least she tried to break the wheel. rhaenyra to me doesn't look like an asoiaf character, if you take cersei as an example, she wasn't v likeable but she made smart moves, she knew how to move in this world as a woman, and I respected that.

even tho I hate rhaenyra I just like the dynamic (rhaenicent) in a v masochist way. and I'm starved on wlw content, all the shows I liked were autoconclusive or got cancelled, so I latched on what was there. and I love angst to some extents, it stresses the hell out of me too, but for some reason I got captivated by rhaenicent. maybe it helped that I liked more rhaenyra in the first ep, and then I slowly started to despise her. but at first I thought she could have had potential.

Every time I read another fantasy book with faeries, I die a little inside and not in a good way.

Anyway, let’s talk about some faery lore I found and probably will incorporate into my Lilia story out of spite and because I like it and wanna see it more.

Faeries can’t lie.

I’ve only seen like two authors do this so far (Holly Black and Emily Lloyd-Jones). A lot of other fantasies authors like SJM didn’t include it which I think is a real waste in potential for how high the stakes could get. They take everything in a literal sense and one sentence can easily kill someone or destroy their if they’re not careful. You literally have to think before you speak and if you’re not used to speaking that way, it’s all the more dangerous especially if you’re a human in the faerie realm. Whenever authors talk about the dangers of the faeries, it’s usually just the creatures in the woods and deals being made which downgrade the danger for me, in my opinion.

Having Lilia and Malleus not being able to lie would just be really fun especially where I’m going with in my story 💀. More stakes, more danger is just exciting and challenging to write because I have to be careful since majority of the cast of this story are faeries.

Iron burns faeries.

Personally, I like to think that Malleus and Lilia wear gloves most of the time because NRC just has a lot of iron things and they can’t be bothered to always check twice before touching something. It becomes tedious to them so wow gloves?? Easy fix for them.

Also since faeries are immortal and not much seems to hurt them, I just think it’s neat that iron would be the go-to for hurting them for information, killing them off and the like on top of magic use.

Iron also burns Maleficient in the live-action movies so…

Faery food is dangerous to humans.

I have like one human character (not reader) so it probably won’t be present as much but I just think it would be neat. Faery food is dangerous to humans because it puts them in a trance-like state. It makes humans want to stay with the fair folk forever as long as it’s fed at regular intervals from what I assume. The magic does wear off but again, if fed at regular intervals, humans could possibly stay in that mindless state forever.

Faeries are ruthless.

Seeing as they like to mess around with humans for fun (example: leading travelers off their paths, stealing items, etc.), I don’t think people should be surprised they are.

Malleus himself already seems to have a short-temper (almost roasted magicam monsters, got irritated when Rook asked why he appeared after Vil OB) and takes pleasure in seeing some of the other students suffer. He talks about wanting to see Azul cry and wanting to see Vil’s breakdown. I’m a little fuzzy on the details but yeah. Lilia also likes scaring people so there’s that. They’re both sadistic in their own ways whether you believe it or not.

Faeries are expected to be treated with respect and if not, you will get punished in some way. In a lot of cultures that includes stealing your children or making you sick in some way. I know that for Filipinos and Chamorros, you always have to say excuse me before you do your business in the jungle or else shit happens to you so yeah. Sometimes, it seems as if they’ll straight up torture you if you piss them off enough.

They also won’t hesitate to backstab their own it seems because from reading up on a lot of lore and Fae fantasy based stories, it sure as hell seems that way.

So basically, faeries are hella petty and would get you back a hundredfold if you piss them off.

Faeries have a hard time conceiving children.

To be honest, I’m not sure if this is true??? So to speak. I say this because I mostly see it in fantasy books, not through actual lore.

However, I do like it because it gives reason why faeries would take human lovers or their children (though from what I see, it’s mostly for entertainment or to get more servants?). Also, if they have a hard time conceiving children, it means that they value their young very much.

So you know, imagine being the only heir to the throne with no other family members in sight other than your grandmothers.

Just imagine the levels of protecting that would be taken to ensure your safety 🙂

Names have power.

This is for my own entertainment mostly. Having a faerie’s true name would allow you to control them so as always, be careful with wording.

Meaning don’t say, “My name is….”

Saying, “You may call me…” or giving faeries a nickname would stop you from being under their control if you haven’t already done that somehow.

However, I do headcanons that more powerful faeries aren’t subjected to that because of sheer will and pride in themselves so it probably won’t be present as much either lmao

That’s probably most of the general lore I’m including for now. I’m no expert so most of this is just things I’ve learned from fantasy series or my own research! Also, I doubt most of these are canon in Twisted Wonderland anyway. Except maybe the iron one since that is canon in the Maleficient movies but who knows.

Fluff and little cursing.

Characters: Izuru, korekiyo, Wolfgang, and Damon.

Summary: A s/o who likes to give random behind hugs and follows them. The reaction from the character and the people around.

Izuru kamakura, ultimate talents. You being his s/o was already the deal. neither was it unlikely.

But it was very know he wasn’t huge on pda, he could deal with it, but wasn’t a fan. Especially how easily he can predict it. Feeling your weight lay on his back in a hug was..actually surprising.

Who would even care to do such a thing..? He didn’t understand the affection as it started to happen more.

He could take his own time to stroll with you at the park. Waiting as you tied your shoe you weren’t you suddenly jumped on him as a hug, he just stayed silent before picking your legs up just carrying you around.

He believes that was the hint of you stopping him, instead of just asking.

You tried to say something but stayed silent, as it was funny. You still continued although. if your lucky he could even slightly embrace you back, lightly.

But he didn’t even find that the most odd, it was always finding your foot steps behind him. He noticed you liked to follow him, stay by him. And he couldn’t be mad.

He asked silly questions of why? You just always responded with I want too. And he accepted it.

How could he not? You were most acceptable out of everyone. Seeing you behind never affected him, neither was it boring. If anything he slowed down to be by your side.

But yet junko watched it in a grin, a soft kamakura? As if! Well she thought..

It wasn’t even on purpose, she could randomly see your pda moments and your following. She could laugh in spite but still stayed.

She saw no bother from izuru, was hella surprised! What the hell? But all she thought was the despair she could bring out of him using you..

Of course he didn’t allow, she tried. Didn’t end so well for her..

Korekiyo Shinguji, the ultimate anthropologist. Loved you..no no. He adored you very much.

He enjoyed signs of pda, he wasn’t very open on it though. He loved playing with your hair, face, and tenderly with your hands. Being given affection wasn’t so often. He just doesn’t expect it.

Feeling your sudden hug from behind made him lightly gasp. He was a tsudere towards your affection, it left him lightly confused. He just stayed still before feeling your touch left.

It was like a sudden weight picked up, seeing you treat him the same made him bloom. But his eyes just stayed surprised. You tried to ask but he just shook it off.

He didn’t understand your side of affection, at most he would just pat your head in response. It was easy to say he doesn’t get that much attention often.

Another time he waited for you near his room, he knew you were there once he felt your touch go around his waist in a laugh. He just did a small tilt with his head before continuing.

You liked to spend your time following him, and he noticed pretty soon especially by how much he observed.

Y/n...They are right behind me..again.

He would try to ask why, but kept silent if it were to ever stopped. He enjoyed it, it gave him comfort to know you followed right behind him. It was less to worry, and you were easy to look at in awe.

But he took it into consideration. We’re you shy? Or did you just want too.. but he kept it simple either way. He didn’t have a idea of affection till it started happening more.

It was once again you wrapped around his waist from behind. He was a unnoticeable tsudere, he would get slightly shy but easily cover it up in small talk.

Eva didn’t expect it, although she felt suspicious between you both she didn’t come to the conclusion. So seeing the relationship was surprising but didn’t leave a mark. She hummed in response and left it till needed.

Damon maitsu, Ultimate debater. He can be a Asshole. But he was your pain in the butt.

He wasn’t against pda, he just didn’t do it openly. He can be loving closed door but in the open he was silent about it. So you took matters in your own hands.

When you grabbed around him in a behind hug, he was definitely stunned. And slightly dense. He waited till you let go to say something. But he just tilt his head.

It was really not that bad? He didn’t mind it, if anything he enjoyed it. Still sometimes embarrassed. For instance, it was after a tournament. He swear he just saw you, so he looked in the area you were just at.

Till suddenly you wrapped behind him in a laugh, he knew it was you, but be lucky he didn’t just push you away instantly.

He felt as if it was suspicious, no actually he knew you were following him. And he asked, but he didn’t get a response. You just shrugged and smiled.

And you know what? Good enough for him. He let you stay by his side and explore the area with him. He didn’t expect to enjoy your company really, he was used to being alone.

But honestly, he just wasn’t the person you’d even expect in a relationship! He had a ego, (well deserved), and puts all work into debating. So something a lot new was a forced experience. (He enjoys it)

Kai was surprised, especially for his first meet with Damon. He only got the expression that he was rude, so seeing him practically the opposite, ouch! He probably asked too many questions..

Wolfgang took the time to ask for about the relationship since he noticed. He didn’t get a warning answer from Damon but you talked I’m little parts. He just nodded and left it at that. Obviously Damon wouldn’t want to be bugged.

So,

Komi is super popular for someone with severe socal anxiety. Both girls and boys are in love with her to the point that one of her classmates kidnaps her first friend and they find him in a closet. The girl has photos of her everywhere 💀 super creepy as hell tbh. She even eats a peice of her hair- 😭.

But in the first episode or the second, the main character says he'll help Komi complete her dream of having 100 friends despite her socal anxiety. And the main character realizes that Komi may come off as intimidating but she just has a very hard time communicating with people. She has these super cute hiccups 🥺 and she has almond shape eyes that are purple 😍 (she's hella pretty) in one of the episodes I watched, Najime (everyone in the animes childhood friend) sends her to get a drink from a cafe and she makes it there but because she's too nervous to talk, the barista(?) Gives her the wrong drink and she just takes it because she can't say it's the wrong order 😭. Then she starts tearing up when they take it out of the bag and it's the wrong one 💀 (the main character uses they/them pronouns for Najime so I'm doing the same lol)

So I saw the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie and I’ve been thinking about it and game to movie/tv adaptations in general, so I guess a review and some general thoughts on it d(^^ ).

⚠️FNAF MOVIE SPOILERS!!!⚠️

I liked the movie, it was fun. The creature shop did really well on the animatronics, and there were quite a few scenes that had me pretty shocked in a good way. Vanessa’s inclusion was actually kinda cool the way they did it and surprisingly I did end up liking the little sister character they added in. William Afton was the best part of the movie and I’m glad he was even though I kinda knew he would be lol. The spring lock scene was a bit toned down, but still cool as hell and I honestly didn’t expect them to put it in at all. The Matpat cameo and the Living Tombstone at the end were fucking wild and hella deserved tbh.

There were some things I’m still meh about though:

I didn’t like how Mike wasn’t really bothered by the animatronics very much at all. They were barely a threat to him. The scenes of the vandals getting attacked was pretty cool, but Mike, the night guard himself, is just kinda protected through the plot armor of his little sister and I guess sleeping on the job??? Sure he did get attacked by the ghosts of the children during a dream, BUT it’s kinda a major plot point that the possessed animatronics are slowly closing in on the night guard office and you have to keep them away, soooo yeahhhh. Like aw man where’s my scene of the night guard closing the doors and having to anxiously watch the cameras? Especially with the added horror that there’s his little sister there and he thinks they’ll hurt her! Those are some high stakes they could’ve had! And the scenes of the sister being friendly with the animatronics could’ve been way cooler if they had scenes of the animatronics being aggressive towards Mike to balance them. Where’s all the my paranoia the game centered around? The suspense, dread, panic? I just didn’t get those vibes from the movie very much, which is sad.

Some of the changes to Mike’s story were strange choices imo. Most fans will know that “Mike Schmidt” is like a pseudonym for Michael Afton, William Afton’s oldest son who is kinda trying to figure out the murder cases and shut all this down, I cannot explain the whole fnaf lore in one bullet point 💀 but it’s important. In the movie, it really kinda seems like they made Mike his own character with his own family and his own sad dead brother backstory. Which is weird to me, because I feel like the whole dreaming plot could’ve worked really well with Michael considering the events of FNAF 4. That game implies that some of the events are at least coma dream related with the IV bags that show up in the kid’s room and mini games, so it would’ve made sense that this ghost kid brother would be communicating through dreams. They could’ve had Michael keep trying to change those events and then remember towards the end that what really happened that day was he had accidentally killed his brother at this establishment and that’s why he had blocked the place and that yellow rabbit, ya know? This would’ve also been interesting considering that little sister character they added and how he’d then feel like he shouldn’t be the one to take care of her after he figures out what happened only to get that redemption later. Idk I just feel like the plot lines they were going for would’ve been cooler if they had maybe not outright said that he was Michael Afton yet, but implied it or kept the whole crying child backstory. They could still be setting this up for twist in a sequel though since Willam kinda stutters on his last name when they meet and they have this whole child custody plot going on, maybe they’ll make that foreshadowing for later when it’s revealed that Willam was divorced or something and that’s why Mike doesn’t know that’s his dad, but yeah idk.

I feel like it was generally watered down. I get that it was made with the idea that kids would be the main audience in mind, but I think a lot of the actual horror gets lost. I almost wanna see this series get an R rated movie someday in the future just to see a different take on it, especially the first game since the vibes and general horror are really at there best in the earlier games. They’re not the scariest games ever made or anything, but playing the first one again recently it still holds up tbh, especially in atmosphere.

No Phone Guy :’(. Not even playing on the tapes. Like they should’ve just kicked the whole nature sounds things and had Phone Guy play instead. One of my favorite characters in the series and they didn’t put him in alas (;_;).

There are things I’d change about it for sure, but I enjoyed it for what it was. It’s pretty damn cool getting to see a movie based on an indie game series like this, and what’s more one that seems to actually respect it.

Perfect? Not hardly. Pretty good? Yeah :). 7/10

When I said I wasn't ready for this to end on my last post I didn't intend to then not post until the weekend, but somehow using TriMax to try and soothe my JJK feels didn't seem like a good idea, so here we are.

Stream-of-consciousness thoughts for TriMax Vol. 14, Chapters 4-6 below.

Chapter 4: Never Give Up! Never Surrender!

This honestly seems like an odd title given how suicidal our main character is, but let's run with it. Maybe it's referring more to the Earth Fleet.

Vash, asking important questions.

WTF, why is dead Legato just standing there screaming? Like, yes, I get that him standing around screaming in an unsettling fashion is totally in character for him, but... he's dead, yeah? Or... is it Vash screaming? I mean, I feel like screaming is generally the appropriate response to Legato showing up.

What the...? Surprise Wolfwood. He looks in pretty good spirits for a dead man.

Dang, that's a lot of ghosts.

OMG it's REM.

Wait, is he dying? Like, I know he's dying, but is he dying dying??

Oh, he hit a wall between him and them. He must not be quite gone yet. But gods, his hair looks fully black here.

Oh, wait. It has just a bit of lightness in it still.

Vashie looks sooooo tired.

Meanwhile, humanity is trying its very, very best to communicate with the Plants Knives has absorbed.

The good news is Knives and/or the Plants he's merged with just saved all of Humanity on Noman's Land. The bad news is everyone still has to deal with Knives.

Dang, Knives isn't even gonna bother slaughtering the humans. He's just gonna leave them to rot.

What is that noise, Knives? Is it maybe your sisters? Are they now making their noise un-ignorable?

Were you really united? Did you ever actually check with them? Or did you just assimilate and assume that because the assimilation took, they were in agreeance?

It's not just Vash at this point, though, is it?

Wait, is Vash gonna plug into Knives? Ohhhh, he does not look enthusiastic about this move.

Sooooo much giant Plant underboob.

Oh, Vash is going to plug himself into the connection they've set up to try and talk with the Plants. That's hella dangerous. Has he ever been plugged into anything before? What if he can't maintain his sense of self in there? Though I guess Chronica could when she plugged into Domina... but that was only a fraction of the entity Vash is gonna jump into, and the entity he's gonna jump into includes Knives.

Hahahaha, I feel like Knives telling Vash not to touch him is exactly the fuel Vash needs. Big sibling energy here.

This looks distinctly unpleasant for the both of them.

But look at her, doing her best to stay focused. She knows Vash is at his limit and she's doing her best to support him.

UGH, HE CAN FEEL HER EMOTIONS!!! HE CAN FEEL THEM!!!! That there's a rare genuine Vash smile. He may not know if it's gonna work, but he's so grateful for her effort and support. He's glad she's here for him right now.

This is a Thing. Everything dissolves when communication ends. When there's no more room for it, whatever the reason may be.

Heh, they call Vash "Red Brother." I approve. I think he'd like that.

This scene. I love this scene. I love the tenderness of his touch on the one Plant's head. I love how he changes his words from a statement of fact, a demand and a command, to a desperate request. I love her smiling peacefully through her tears.

WHAT IS THIS?!?! WHAT IS THIS PROMISE THAT HE'S NEVER MADE BEFORE?!?! WHAT IS THIS WILL TO LIVE AND TO COME BACK AND TO SPEND TIME WITH SOMEONE HE CARES ABOUT INSTEAD OF RUNNING AND RUNNING AND HIDING AND ISOLATING??!?! WHAT. IS. THIS?!!?!?!?

After watching Stampede, I read somewhere that someone was saying how those who were familiar with the series were gonna have fun explaining to Stampede-onlies how Knives getting destroyed in July is just him being dramatic. Looking at him missing HUGE CHUNKS of his body and yet still somehow maintaining his basic shape, I can't help but think he's being dramatic again.

"My head's killing me." You don't say? Maybe it's because HALF OF IT IS MISSING?? What a freaking dork.

I... honestly don't know if what Vash is aiming for here is something that can be defined as "freedom."

After being told around that you had to show the new guy the ropes of the mansion, you were grumpy, you weren’t in the mood to meet someone new, wondering why the hell slenderman picked on you and forced you to show the ropes to the new Creepypasta. The new Creepypasta was a teenage boy, 19, around 5’5? Maybe 5’6? Brown, wavy almost curly hair. Pale porcelain like skin, scars all over his body. Something was different bout this boy, maybe it was the way he walked or talked.. shit– speak of the devil.. the boy walked out of his room, wearing some black jeans that were hella baggy, a paramore shirt, in black.. a zip up hoodie that has brown, and black and some blue accents around it. His shoes were some old busted converse. The boy looked around, having a bandage on his cheek to hide the gash. You simply walked over to him, grabbing his wrist and dragging him around to show off the place, tryna make this quick and get it done, fast.

“Hey! Who..who! Are you..!”

The boy spoke hoarsely.. his voice was breaking from all the screaming and crying he had done, the boy was shaking. He yanked back his wrists. He snarled under his breath. You stared at him as if he was crazy.. well simple, he looked like he was crazy, those dark circles under his eyes, almost like a raccoon. You tried to explain on who you were, giving him a description and where he was.

“The fuck..? A mansion.. slender’s mansion..”

It was clear to tell the boy was confused.. you stood there, not bothered of his sudden burst outs as you watched him. The boy was terrible in eye contact, maybe not always but.. maybe right now due to how anxious he is. You wrap you arm around him, already hating this, hating how much of a big deal the boy made it seem.

“I can tell your not.. proud of, what you are doing, ya know.”

The boy said as he pushed away; he followed from behind, he stared at you in the eyes, glaring almost. You were lost of words, but.. he wasn’t wrong, you really weren’t in the mood to show off around so.. he was correct on one thing. You rolled your eyes as the boy growled.. you grinned at his reaction. You were already getting on this boy’s nerves, and yet you don’t know his name, the brunette pouted, taking matters into his own hands and deciding to show himself around the mansion.

I'm..... torn on that Shogun ending. it was VERY satisfying in a VERY unconventional way that i appreciate the more i sit on it. but i was left very unsatisfied with other elements of the story that i think they could have done just a hair better with.

one, i would have liked a little more indication of how much time had passed between events. i legit have no fucking idea how long anything took except the overarching story itself. there definitely wasn't enough time spent on some important bits nor enough time for the audience to really sit with and absorb some of the more powerful moments. i was left wanting so much more in that regard, and had a very hard time being emotionally invested in the things i should have been.

secondly, the romance was just eh. i think it was well done, especially in the context of this time period, but again the lack of time spent on people and in certain moments really hindered that. i need to read the book tbh i'm sure there's so many little things throughout it we simply didn't get to see. but there just weren't enough.... influential moments between them to sell there was more than a bit of lust and fondness. and then when the big moments did happen that were meant to sell it, i couldn't buy into it. idk how to explain it other than nearly the entirety of the show it felt very shallow and more like they had a crush on each other and then ep 9 comes in with a wrecking ball of some hella deep emotion and love out of nowhere. i can tell they meant to build them up for that particular moment to hit as hard as it was intended but it just completely missed the mark for me. but, again, i think that ties into the way time was handled and not so much the way the romance itself was.

I'd have liked just a TINY bit more action. Just a smidge. a crumb more. and not even necessarily in the sense of fighting. A scene of anjin being a clumsy but serious oaf trying to learn how to use his katana properly after that scene with yabu and buntaro for example, would have been great. hell, get mariko in on it to correct his form and turn up the heat between them a little more. sure, her weapon is a naginata but she's still know the basics he doesn't. and it bothered me immensely he was never shown to be WTF about her being a Very Skilled Fighter when, yknow, european women are not, at all. Or, idk, let this master pilot of ships actually have more chances to show off his skills they talk up for the duration of the show. idk, there just needed to be like two or three more small scenes of something else happening.

for all the ways lady ochiba was built up, she ended up being such a letdown and boring as hell. they could have cut about 80% of her screentime and still had the same outcome honestly. i saw that ending twist coming the minute she accepted the proposal but the whole damn time i was expecting her to have her own cunning agenda and games to play. but nope she's just. there. serving looks.

and then there's mariko. i haaaaaaaaaaaaaate the trope she ended up being in with such a burning passion. dear god do i hate a classic fridging. the only redeemable part of it is that it was, essentially, what she wanted. that said, i don't think it could have been pulled off any other way since she was based on her real life counterpart. buuuuut, then they go an skip her funeral entirely??? yeah now that pissed me off something bad. it's one thing to fridge the girl but then just brush past it like nothing was just an unacceptable way to have handled that. I'm also miffed to find out she was supposed to be much more toranaga's advisor than what she was in the show. why the choice to downgrade her to just a translator?? why do such a vitally important character who carried the story such a disservice? idk man, THAT alone almost ruined it for me. it was just poorly handled. period.

BUT, as a whole? beautiful and amazing and fun and very very intriguing. I think the rather anticlimactic ending is kind of gorgeous in a strange way. and the weeaboo nerd in me enjoyed the fucking hell out all the meticulous attention to accuracy. I'll probably rewatch it a few times just to watch things in the background and admire all the detail they put into everything lmao i think it's definitely worth the watch even with my disappointments. i really hope we get some cut scenes released too cause i'm sure there's a hell of a lot that didn't make it in the show.

God, could you imagine Angel hosting any kind of TV show? LMAO But I think, if they had to... maybe some kind of weird psychology show... How To Gaslight 101... /hj They have no guests ever it's just Angel all the time because they can't share the spotlight... but you know, of course, there was a guest on last week; don't you remember? No? Hm, weird. There was definitely someone there. Perhaps you should pay closer attention next time.

11. What is the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to your oc? Do they still feel ashamed for it? Were there any witnesses?

Oh, God. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Luke! I think he's still really embarrassed about punching Maximilian when he first showed up... it was really out of character for him, but to be fair this was immediately after Mal in his mind and he was extremely combative and disoriented... he's apologised many times and so has Maximilian for making it worse but that. it took them a while to get over that first impression LMAO like a week before they would even say a word to each other kind of while. But now they're friends so it's cool.

Maximilian... even though it's probably not canon anymore, the masquerade was one of his top three for sure. Being paraded around in fancy clothes and forced to act like you like your kidnapper while you're stuck in a fucked up mass dream with your co-workers, who should have kept you from being here in the first place? That shit scarred him. In Trinity, it is 100% Silk putting him under curfew like a grounded teenager. Absolutely humiliating he has never recovered from that.

Tinashe... she was super excited when she first got her android body,,, but when it inevitably broke down the first time you know she was hella embarrassed and cursing Remy to hell and back. Imagine trying to pass as a person and then your body just breaks??? Awful.

For Mal,,, canonically, I got no idea. in Trinity, his first meeting with Starling. You try to beat someone up and you just beat yourself up instead???? Fucked up. But at least he got a hot black-magic-witch partner-in-crime out of it.

Rixi... that time Tina called her out about being in love with Remy and told her she was crazy for it. Rixi is really good at pretending things don't bother her or brushing them off after she has a cry but I think that's one of the few things that's stuck with her even though she never addressed it again.

19. If your oc were to be arrested for something, what would it be for? For being too kind, for a legitimate crime?

Asirli,,, stole a priceless map, probably. They were going to return it! They just wanted to study it a little! Is that so wrong? :(

Oh, hmm... I mean, there's not really anything they couldn't get themselves invited to, if they really wanted, but I think Silk would want to go to a casino and let loose for a weekend. I think she would really enjoy it, actually, especially given her competitive streak, but alas... that would require her to take time away from work. For Tussah... literally anywhere he would not be recognised would be great. Let him be Aurelius for a single day. Let him go to like. an art studio and paint with a group for a day without being hounded about work.

Places they would hate... Silk's is the beach. Tussah's is literally anywhere further than five feet off the ground. In all seriousness, Silk doesn't really enjoy large gatherings all that much, and Tussah gets bored during movies. He's a talker.

33. How does your oc’s own perception of themselves compare to how other people see them? Is your oc aware that other people see them differently (if it’s different)?

Mal definitely sees himself as someone who is much smarter and more mature than he is. He thinks he's cunning and strong and all, but he's really just extremely lucky (and being in league with Angel doesn't hurt). Mal's one of those who outwardly has a very inflated sense of self, and to a degree, he's definitely tricked himself into believing it. He's certainly aware that Angel (and most other people) sees him as childish and impulsive, but he doesn't really care too much, because regardless of what Angel says or thinks, they still need him, and vice versa.

36. What is your oc’s ideal night out like? Or would they rather spend it at home?

Wow, I can't imagine why you'd be asking this for them (/lh /s).

For Silk! Her ideal night out is a quiet visit to a planetarium so she can infodump at you about the stars,,, maybe a trip out to the middle of nowhere to look at constellations and have a cup of coffee and some dessert...

For Angel! Good luck getting them rested enough to go anywhere! But if you did manage, they'd probably enjoy a really fancy dinner and a formal concert... or like,,, a night at the opera. You know. Something pretentious.

dealbreakers in sanders sides fanfiction for me (part one?)

(if i see these in a fan fiction im reading, i’ll probably stop reading or leave a bad review if that’s an option. also this is just my opinion please don’t be pressed, some of these im serious about hating but some are just things i find a bit boring or irritating.)

1. BABYTALK. i reblogged and added to a post about this on my main, but there are a lot of kid!sides fics out there with the most horrendous, disgustingly inaccurate, just cringey child characters on the planet. if i see another fic where virgil gets turned into a four year old and suddenly he’s all “oh no papa im scawed of da big mownstaw!” i will go crazy. not only is it wildly boring to read and makes me cringe, but it’s an amazing opportunity wasted! kids are hilarious and imaginative and they shouldn’t be reduced to whiny little things that just exist to be “cute pure smol beans 🥺” when KIDS ARE COOL and so fun to read about when they’re portrayed right. i’m writing a fic where logan is 7 years old, but he’s the SASSIEST LITTLE THING and he’s still a child with childish tendencies and interests, but he doesn’t have that inaccurately written speech impediment or the personality of a wet noodle. he’s funny and it’s obvious that he’s a kid without it being super cliche or on the nose. if you’re a person who struggles with writing children, or you’re reading this and you’re all like “oh shit i do that”, then my advice is to try interacting with children or observing them irl (without being creepy lol)! see their mannerisms and how they tell stories or interact with the world. the results might inspire you!

2. “i’m so small and weak and everything bad happens to me help me” x “i’m big and strong and perfect and i have no trauma and i’m always there to save the day” ship dynamic. NO. STOP THIS. i especially see this with prinxiety and it’s such a shame because first of all, a relationship like this is a hella toxic one, someone entirely relying on someone else for rescue or comfort while never providing the same in return? absolutely not. and second of all, it gets boring to read about when one character does nothing but give and the other does nothing but take. it makes things predictable and irritating to read. i don’t want to read virgil getting hurt over and over while roman saves him over and over. give me arguments and internal conflict, and maybe roman being saved for once? i just can’t with that dynamic, it sucks.

3. on the same vein as 2, when one character is the only one in the wrong, or there’s a character who’s never in the wrong. usually, the character who’s never in the wrong in fics are patton and virgil, which is not only just…something that rubs me the wrong way, but it’s also another opportunity missed. when you have a character who is at moral perfectionism all the time without a single mistake, or everything they do is perceived as “right” by other characters or even the writer when they actually are in the wrong fundamentally and it’s never addressed, it bothers me so much. let all your characters have the privilege of being in the wrong. it’s the best way for character development or change to occur. trust me on this one. let your precious innocent angels fall, because absolutely nobody is as innocent as they seem. this is one thing that always, without fail, makes me hate the fic. LET THE SIDES BE IN THE WRONG. PLEASEEEE.

4. this one is purely my opinion so i won’t expand upon it, but i hate seeing roman doing wildly out of character things just so he can be perceived as the villain. probably just because he’s my favorite but i digress! i love seeing roman make mistakes and pick himself back up again but when he’s just pure evil for the hell of it? nahhh not my thing, personally.

5. when characters are evil/bullies for no reason. this one isn’t always a deal breaker for me but it bothers me. i love a good villain character whose actions are completely understandable from their own pov, just wrong. it makes it so much more realistic and engaging. try giving your villain!sides a cool backstory, or a reason. it could lead to something neat.

6. poc sides but the author is white and does no research and the poc sides are the most heinously stereotypical people on the planet. as a filipino person, i know that the sanders sides fandom is like 99% wonderbread (white people), but it’s no excuse to create some of the things i’ve seen in these fanfics. here’s my advice: when making a side a poc, ask yourself why you chose that particular race? if your answers are something like “logan is asian because he’s smart!” or “roman is hispanic/latino because he’s romantic/because he’s stupid!” or “virgil is black because he’s tough and mean!” then…uh…that’s racist, my friend. ask yourself why you’re making one side this particular race versus another side. race and personality never go hand in hand for any reason. you can however say “roman is filipino because my friend is filipino and she reminds me of roman.” that’s okay, because you’re using someone as inspiration as a whole, not just their race. you can also say “i’m making virgil black because virgil is my favorite to write about and i want to research black culture and try my hand at writing a character who’s cultural experience is different from mine.” that’s also a slay. bottom line: do your research and don’t fall into racist cliches.

Read me review Hazbin Hotel after watching only ONE EPISODE...

I have a lot of criticisms...

Now this is my first time watching Hazbin hotel after seeing it mainly on my Pinterest/Tumblr feed, I've gotten mixed reviews and thought I should watch the Pilot and first episode to see if it's as bad as everyone makes it to be...and were they right yes indeed

Okay, the first episode...wow...what the hell do I have to even say about it??

It's basically about Charlie going to meet Adam in hopes he'll like the idea of her starting up the Hazbin hotel to rehabilitate sinners so they can go into heaven so there won't be an overpopulation and no more extermination every year

This is going to be split up into at least seven categories

Animation/angles

Voice acting

How each character is written

Character designs

Music

Comedy

Religious themes

And maybe some things on this list you might disagree and I know how annoyingly defensive HH fans can get so no hate comments/rants in the comments (or whatever the fuck that area is called)

1. Animation/angles

The animations is fine, great in fact, but the angles...OH LORD NEED I SAY MORE?! the angles in some parts are just so...weird!! For instance in the part where Charlie is going to sing Happy day in Hell, the angle is really far away from her and Vaggie, which makes it look really awkward, I don't recall any other weird angles but that's the one that mainly bothers me

2. Voice acting

I have a problem with the voice acting...i reaally don't like it...

I haven't seen the entirety of the pilot but from the first 10-15 minutes I would definitely had chosen their original voice actors for the show if I made it.

In the show, Charlie and Vaggie's voices are more lower pitched, the main difference is for Charlie rather then for Vaggie, as for Alastor I'm not all that sure since I didn't have time to watch the full pilot given it was THIRTY FUCKING MINUTES

For Angel Dust I didn't really see the difference, not sure if they kept his actor or got in a new one

But enough about the pilot what about the show?

The actors i really REALLY didn't like were of Vaggie and Husk, before I had watched the show I thought Husk would have a more high pitched voice but his is HELLA DEEP, just not really fitting in my opinion, and I didn't like the line deliveries of Vaggie, it just felt flat and like her actor didn't put any effort, not bashing on the voice actor of Vaggie of course, just wish Viv would have stayed with the pilot voice actor

3. How the characters are written

I have watched the full show so I can't really comment on this, but I've seen people say the writing for HH is shitty so I'll just get what I can take, Charlie's too nice, her personality revolves around her wanting to help sinners get into Heaven, and there's nothing else to her other than being nice and helpful, don't get me wrong those are great characteristics, but I feel like it's her whole personality and I didn't find any flaws with her, if I were to write Charlie I'd write her as she wants to help sinners, but her short temper/anger issues get in the way of actually helping people

Angel Dust is another problem, from the moment I watched the first episode I knew for a fact his whole personality would just be sex jokes and horny all the time, I just didn't dig that really, since Viv has to have at least ten sex/horny jokes every fucking episode, or at least that's what I expect, I heard there was an episode on I think the third one about Angel Dust and about SA, I'm hoping that gives him more depth then just "horny and a porn star"

As for characters like Vaggie, Alastor, Husk, and the rest, I'm not sure, hopefully they get some depth in s2 because from what I've heard, they're really poorly written

4. Character designs

I...have some thoughts...

I hate the overuse of the color red in nearly every characters design, it's just annoying, and I know it's probably supposed to be a red color pallet cause they're in hell but the characters just blend into one another and I wish their colors were more diverse then just red and black

As for the redesign I really like them! Although I'll always love Vaggie's original pilot design, love how it's more of a lavender then a black dress

As for the other redesigns I didn't see any changes other than colors or adding/taking away a few accessories, like for the designs of Charlie, Alastor, and Angel Dust

5. Music

I LOVE THE MUSIC

I've heard lots of praise for their music, i didn't think much of it, primarily thinking the songs wouldn't be as good just like how the show was handled, shitty, but the songs are actually really good and I honestly can't wait to finish the show and hear the complete soundtrack!

6. Comedy

Now this is something that should have been handled better

The show relys too much on the sex jokes and cursing to be funny, as I finished the whole first episode I just found myself listening to non stop sex jokes and it was kinda tiring, to be fair I did chuckle and laugh at some of the jokes but they weren't even the sex ones, really need to change the humor for the show, JUST LESS SEX OKAY?

7. Religious themes

For show like Hazbin Hotel you'd probably might be thinking there'd be some religious stuff in it given it has heaven and hell, and demons and angels, but just so you know I'm not like a big nerd on religion and like everything about it so I'll do my best to explain this with the general knowledge I have about it

The opening is basically explaining to us about how heaven and hell became, except there's no God, like the one in Christianity, it's more of those scary ass looking ones with wings and rings n stuff, and of course angels and the whole stuff, it goes on to talk about Lucifer, which if you don't know much about him he basically used to be an angel but heaven kicked his ass and he fell out of heaven, according to Dante's inferno it says he fell so hard he created like a huge hole (yet again I'm not an expert in this so please tell me if I'm getting anything wrong) and in HH when Lucifer fell it became hell, and as for the parts if Christianity of course the Earth was made, but instead of Adam and Eve its Adam and Lilith, which is very confusing cause it said that they're the first two people on Earth, and when Lucifer came down to Earth to start a relationship with Lilith suddenly Eve is there??? They never explain it and it just confuses me a shit ton!!!

And that my lady's, bros, non binary folks in the back, is all the complaints/criticisms I've got just from ONE EPISODE

But of course I have more silly!! These aren't as huge so I'll just list them down

A lot of unanswered questions

Lack of body representation

Lack of creativity in color pallets

And that's basically all I gotta say! If I made any mistakes please let me know!

Ya know, maaaaybe I wouldn’t be against Wendy have the pacification origins on Grandine’s (and other Sky Dragon’s part if she wasn’t (not counting 100yrs) the ONLY FEMALE DRAGON SLAYER OF THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE!! A character having pacifist powers in general isn’t the issue, it’s having the girl character with powers like her male counterparts being used in a pacifist way. I know she was 12 at the start and got development, but the fact is that Mashima never bothered to make another after Wendy.

I mean, she does already have annoyingly pacifist origins in canon (which the ‘she was too young’ excuse makes no sense when compared to Sting and Rogue who never had the same problem), but I digress.

So honestly, canon aside, I hella agree.

I wish Wendy was more feral and fun like Natsu and Gajeel. I feel Mashima was compelled to make her soft and cute and protectable, because she’s the first ‘little girl’ character we had, and honestly that’s okay. It’s a nice change to have a primarily support-type wizard, and her being a child was appropriate for that role, but it just sucks because it seems like only the girls of the story have this ‘I need to hold back, because girls and women are always kind and cute’ sort of narrative ever-present. It just... ugh, shounen anime of this era, you know?

It’s kinda like Erza having to watch Natsu fight her ending arc battle with Jellal, even though Gray got to fight Lyon himself. Erza gets the role to be kind and wonderful and save the world after that, but she doesn’t get to go feral and lose her temper and destroy her opponent in a fit of anger, because she is meant to forgive him. Natsu was cool as hell, but Erza was given a random fight with Ikaruga instead of overcoming the core of her trauma like she so damn well deserved in TOH. Like, Gray got to defeat his personal arc opponent (Lyon) by himself, but Lucy and Erza doesn’t, because her role in their main arc is to be saved by Natsu to emphasize how much friendship and family matters to her.

Was it a bad character arc, no, but why is it only the girls that get an arc like this one? The guys never get an important character arc where their role is to be saved. They always save themselves.

So yeah, I wish Wendy was more feral too, but alas, Mashima’s set a precedent for the girls at the start.

Mirajane’s important feral moment in Fantasia is important because she is meant to hold back and have mercy for Freed at the end of it. Elfman’s important feral moment in Phantom is important because he gets to go fucking batshit on Sol, beating him within an inch of death because he’s an ass and he wants to prove he can now protect Mira. I love both of those moments, but it is always the girls that get the ‘I need to be kind because I love my friends that I can rely on’ character arc, and the boys always get the ‘I need to be stronger to protect the ones I love’ arcs. I’m not saying the girls only get arcs like that, (Erza fights a lot of her future battles,) no, but only girls ever get arcs like that.

I wish Chelia was a bit more feral, honestly, I feel she could have fixed this problem because she’s a female God Slayer, that has always been the epitome of viciousness and brutality, in previous arcs. In her fight, she actually seemed like a battle junkie to me, which I found so fun as a character that could heal herself and keep fighting over and over. But after her fight, she was just the other ‘kind, sweet’, little girl that mirrored Wendy. Then around the time they became idols together, they were just the same person in a different font, in terms of personality.

Like, I don’t expect Wendy to stop being a pacifist now, especially since Wendy’s gotten so much powerup and being a pacifist means a lot to her as a character (her character peaked at FACE for me), but I do wish Mashima allowed the girls to be more feral, violent, and crazy, without being a straight up villain. Seriously, all the girls that have the capacity to not be kind and pacifistic are portrayed as villainous, harmful lesbian stereotypes, psychopaths, or whatever. Flare, Minerva, Dimaria, Seilah, to name a few. And though Flare and Minerva get redeemed, guess what? They’re now meek and kind and gentle.

Honestly I think Cana would have fit that role well, if only because of the Fairy Glitter scene in GMG. Millianna too, honestly. They’re both fun, mischievous characters that just have the capacity to go wild and ruthless if they want to, but they have the weakness of being not strong enough to do anything important, (Cana vs Freed in Fantasia just being a setup for Mirajane's berserk, and Millianna just being a hostage in Minerva vs Kagura vs Erza) and they’re constantly shoved aside for the more important characters to shine.

It’s just. The girls always get shafted like this, you know? Wendy’s just plucked the bad straw by also being a child. It sucks sometimes :(

I understand what your saying, it's just that I have 0 sympathy (let alone empathy) for Homelander's grown ass. Also, Homelander is fictional. Finn from star wars went through hell and he managed to leave.

i understand that from a place that you might not like in all honesty.

have you considered that maybe part of why you feel that way is because... society taught you to feel that way?

finn is a different person from homelander with a different situation from him. yes, different. because finn *at least* had a *catalyst* or epiphany of some kind required to recognize and then *move* on or forward from his situation. homelander *has not*, and to some degree it is doubtful he will get that.

and to be the bearer of bad news yet again, generally? that's not necessarily a *realistic* take on abusive situations and correlates *directly* with survivor's bias.

this is super duper important to remember. just because *such and such could do it*, does not mean *oh well this guy can too*. it just doesn't. that's why the word *survivor* exists.

and as of yet, homelander is not quite a survivor, but he *is* still a victim...

even worse that society perpetually uses survivor's bias *against* victims but that's not okay either. one or two people surviving and getting out of a situation doesn't mean we suddenly stop feeling or caring for victims still stuck in the same situation, could you imagine???

honestly, idk HOW the world manages to function with bullshit like this, but picture this.

survivor's bias creating a lack of empathy is like one plane suddenly fixing their problems and no longer being in trouble, and because *that* plane fixed its issues, the other which mind you is *STILL GOING DOWN AND IN MAJOR TROUBLE* is just expected to *magically* correct course and no longer be in trouble, and if it doesn't well fuck all those people who are about to die--

when WHAT THE FUCK!?!? that's not how life fucking works!!!

and yet this is the bullshit CAPITALISM especially super promotes. because one billionaire is clearly worth far more than a billion poor people and deserves his wealth WAY more than the homeless or hungry for... reasons i guess.

*in capitalism, a majority of people *MUST* FAIL in order for a select few to *super succeed* and benefit, so OF COURSE *survivor's bias* would be heavily promoted to keep the idea popular among those suffering. we all think "well if *I* could be that ONE..." except, statistically, the likelihood of that is slim to fucking nothing! this ideology does not remain exclusive to financial situations, it *translates* to other parts of society and *destroys* healthy thinking*

and to a degree i get it, empathy is not an easy thing to feel. i know some forms of neurodivergence cause difficulty with this. for me, it's this too, except when i'm not the densest motherfucker on the planet, i *can't* turn the setting fucking off, even if i wanted to (and it is hella overloading, overwhelming, and exhausting).

i can't *not* feel it, even for (and especially for well written) fictional characters, even for real people i might not want to admit deserve it, or even if i don't think they deserve it, sometimes *especially* if i don't think they deserve it.

very very very very rarely does it just... 'check out'. it is a genuine problem.

but understanding the human psyche to the fullest extent is *how* we *break* these cycles of abuse, repair the damage, and prevent it from happening further. and that requires *empathy* in every single sense we can possibly bring it forth.

the reason creative people bother creating shit like the boys isn't just to entertain, it's because good artists tend to *see* the problems in society and in turn often want to help *amend* them by teaching lessons with their creative works.

if we as a society want to improve and change and get better in reality, we'd do well to start listening and noticing in fiction.

we hunt white tigers to near extinction. inbreed them to high hell which causes a shit ton of problems while fucking up their genes. AND THEN PROCEED BLAME THEM FOR THE PROBLEMS AND GENES WE FUCKED UP AND CAUSED INSTEAD OF TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR OWN ACTIONS--

the gene that makes them white is actually a harmless genetic variant that is the same gene that makes a chicken white. it is with no doubt the HUMANS that fucked up the white tiger gene pool. but let me put this in a different sorta place or perspective.

WE made homelander.

we all played a part, because we're all part of a society, we enabled and allowed him happen, the abuse to occur, and then his abuse to persist, and if we feel *nothing*, truly *nothing* for this THING that SOCIETY created when WE ARE PART OF IT.

we. are. just. as. fucking. GUILTY.

and we should... really take some fucking accountability for that hot mess... least that's how i see it. can't *not* see it.
