🧸 Hannibal?

Oh Hannibal is big caregiver energy!

I like it when people flip the script and write him as a regressor, but he's sooo settled as a cg in my brain.

Three Headcanons:

1- Hannibal is almost never protective of people, and that is intentional: the world shapes them and that is the process that fascinates him. I think that a regressor would cross that line: he would want a lot more control over what happens to them and how it impacts them.

That's not to say that he wouldn't allow harm to befall them, but he would want to be the cause of the harm, and be there afterwards to put the pieces back together in the shape that suits him best.

2- Hannibal would absolutely thrive on putting together a wardrobe for a regressor: all the little touches that reinforce regression (buttons that they can't do themselves, so he has to help: the clothes a little too big in specific spots to make them feel physically smaller)

3- he would want to Know so much, it's overwhelming to consider: he would want to know all the regression triggers, positive and negative, even the ones that the regressor isn't aware of themselves. He would want to know activities that make a regressor comfortable, and ones that make them feel vulnerable but not enough to push them out of regression: the memories that they associate with regression and the ones that they've repressed. He would want to know every inch of someone's childhood and their journey into regression before he'd met them. A vast expanse of knowledge that he can use to push in the smallest and most subtle ways.

♡ - romantic headcanon

I headcanon Dream as bellusromantic, which means he likes 'romantic" activities but not in a romantic way, yk? It fits him...

He doesn't hate romance tho, he thinks it's very cute and doesn't mind seeing. It's just not for him. :3

🔀- Canon Divergence/Slight AU

The weirdest thing, Mike reflects once he's accepted the fact that ghosts are real and he's not actually going crazy, is not the caveman who likes to make the lights flicker to startle Alison, the Georgian lady who desperately wants to be his sister or even the headless Tudor man everyone always seems to forget about - no, it's the fact that at least four of the ghosts have a crush on him (possibly five - he's not quite sure about Julian's constant innuendos yet).

It's flattering, really. After all, who doesn't like to be desired? But if he has to listen to even one more terrible, lovelorn poem composed by Thomas or watch the Captain blush and stammer when he only so much as glances at him - or, Mike thinks with a shudder, catches Lady Button ogling him as he changes into a new shirt or, god forbid, finds Mary sneaking into the bathroom while he's on the loo again, he swears he's going to fling himself off the roof.

Alison, of course, finds it all hilarious. And, traitor that she is, she eventually joins in on the fun. Mike has no idea how she even learned about Mike Club but when he finds her in the common room with his four admirers (plus Julian by the laptop) talking excitedly to what to her is only empty air about the merits of being married to him, he huffs and loudly declares, "That's it. I'm getting a divorce."

Alison laughs out loud but Thomas's eyes widen with sudden hope. Before Mike can so much as think, Oh no, he says, "Yes! Divorce her, kill yourself, marry me!"

Mike groans and hides his face in his hands. A moment later, Alison snorts and Mike just knows Julian has relayed Thomas's words to her via the laptop. He shakes his head in despair. Why is his life like this?

Then again, he thinks later that night when they're all sitting together watching Friends: he wouldn't really have it any other way.

Headcanon that Kid is a pretty avid reader and is lowkey pissed off that everybody thinks otherwise because of his image. The Victoria Punk has its own book club but Kid's membership status is on thin ice because he always reads ahead and snickers when somebody guesses a plot point incorrectly or gets attached to a character he knows something's about to happen to.

I agree wholeheartedly. Kid looks like a big, jock idiot but he's so freaking smart. I mean, he's an engineer, you can't pull the shit he does without SOME smarts. Yeah I can build a lego brick house but I can't make it shoot freaking laser beams!

I love the idea of a book club on the Victoria Punk - @writing-yarn-goblin I KNOW you have some thoughts on this. I just know his ass reads ahead because he loves being informed ahead of everyone else. He won't volunteer information but he does chuckle like a jackass when someone misses plot points or context, and no he WON'T explain why its incorrect, he ain't doing the job for them!

oh, dude, you have no idea what you’ve unleashed. okay, here goes.

Headcanon A:  realistic

I think he's a middle child - the third born out of six. (I'm including Webby in this). Webby, Wiggly, and then him. He just gives the vibes, you know? Dramatic theatre kid and all.

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

I am a firm believer that after Black Friday, when Wiggly blew up the entire world, Pokey was PISSED. He rushed over to Wiggly's section of the Black and White and reamed him out for an embarrassingly long time, full-on tackling him at one point. That was his prophet, after all! He can't just--kill his PAUL! I've had this headcanon for nearly four years, I love it dearly.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

Once people started getting infected, it was all over. Sure, the meteor might have been the thing that spread the virus, but Pokey's an ELDRITCH GOD. There was no way Paul was ever going to be able to take him out - that's a level of power that he'd never had. And I know that Pokey knew that, and was just laughing as Paul walked to his doom. Because after all, he was inevitable. Paul was never going to not succumb to him - after all, he'd had a chance to escape, but hadn't taken it. Pokey took this as a sign that deep down, Paul WANTED to be infected, drawn to him.

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

I think Pokey and Webby would have been close, before Webby left. I know, I know, Pokey's uncompromising, and I think that's what broke that relationship. BUT! I think when Webby didn't have morals, they used to bond over prophets, and how hard they were to deal with sometimes, drinking whatever the eldritch equivalent of tea was and laughing together. It's such a stupid headcanon, but I think I'm actually attached to it now.

OH BOY do I have many a thought about this man. Picking just four is tough and these are going to be so long so I’ll place them under a read-more.

Heads up - significant Gravity Falls spoilers!

Headcanon 1 - Canon-Compliant:

This is a relatively common headcanon already, I think, but Ford is absolutely covered in scars from his time in the Multiverse. He also already had some from his years in Gravity Falls. If you can name an injury, Ford's probably experienced it at some point - bitten, stung, broken bones, shot, stabbed, fallen from a height, poisoned, burned, he's seen it all. (Thankfully he's managed to keep himself away from fatal or debilitating harm, but there's still time! :D His common sense and self-preservation instincts leave something to be desired and his hero complex never quite went away.) He isn't too fussed about others seeing the scars, usually, but he tends to be evasive if asked about them - he prefers not to think about his time in the Multiverse in too much detail.

Headcanon 2 - Hilarious: 

Ford is resolutely convinced that, throughout his time working with Fiddleford, he did an astounding job at hiding Bill and their partnership. He is 100% certain that Fiddleford couldn't ever have known, not in the least! It does, however, turn out that Ford is a terrible liar and has about as much subtlety as a fork in the garbage disposal. That's not even counting the moments (that Ford is unaware of) when Bill would talk directly to Fiddleford, making no pretenses but never telling Fiddleford exactly who he is other than a 'friend' looking after Ford and helping build the portal. At one point Bill even tried to directly tell Ford that Fiddleford knew, hoping they'd get to stop the charade - Ford just laughed and brushed it off, saying, "Don't be ridiculous, he doesn't suspect a thing!" Bill didn't care enough to push the topic.

Headcanon 3 - Painful:

[CW: Substance misuse, life-threatening physical illness, mental illness, paranoia] Being possessed repeatedly by Bill had serious effects on Ford’s body which neither of them expected. Towards the end of their partnership, his body essentially began to treat Bill like a parasite - his immune system began attacking his nervous system. This caused swelling in his brain, accompanied by fever, hallucinations, chronic headaches and light sensitivity, and just in general an awful time all around for him. After the betrayal, it didn’t matter if Cipher was actually tormenting him or not; hallucinations of him were enough to fuel Ford’s paranoia, and depriving himself of sleep to 'protect' himself from these hallucinations did extremely little to help. The one saving grace is that Ford began to self-medicate with steroids in an attempt to keep himself awake and alert for longer periods, which had the (accidental, on his part) side-effect of slowing/reducing the swelling and suppressing his immune system's attack on his body - and likely saved his life by keeping him going until he finally ended up in a hospital. He has long-lasting damage from this, though thankfully things have improved with time, and he has learned to live with and work around the lingering symptoms. He's still not certain how much of the torment in those years was actually Bill, and how much of it was his own paranoia and illness... If he's honest with himself, he'd rather not know.

Headcanon 4 - Canon Is Dead:

Stanford Pines likes poetry and I will die on this hill. I know this directly contradicts Journal 3 (”I never understood poetry, to be honest") but, in my eyes, Ford loves self-expression through written and visual mediums. He is a man who has always struggled with expressing things like emotions verbally, which is part of the reason he ends up using his Journals more as a diary than as a record of research methods and discoveries, and so art as an expression of things you can’t otherwise put words to fascinates him. The written word, in general, is something he loves - whether fiction or non-fiction, poetry or prose. Poetry in particular is something that helps him with recognising his own emotions and understanding them. As such, I explain the Journal 3 comment either as “-plugs ears- he didn’t say that” or “he’s being deliberately snarky because he knows what the Hand Witch is implying and he doesn’t like it or want to admit/acknowledge it”.

Here are some in-depth extras that are important ones to me, but don’t particularly fit the above categories.

Bonus Headcanon 5 -  Trauma, coping mechanisms, and the importance of social support after so much isolation:

[CW: Discussion of PTSD symptoms] Basically implied in canon already, he has some pretty serious PTSD as a result of his years spent paranoid and alone in the Multiverse, and suffers from frequent nightmares as well as occasional flashbacks, amongst other things. One of his biggest coping mechanisms for the related anxiety is being armed so he can defend himself at a moment’s notice. At first after returning, Ford never went without his weapon belt, not even at the Shack, and all it took was an errant floorboard creak for his hand to fly to his gun. After a long while, he steadily got used to the idea that he was home, and he was safe, and started to forgo the belt more and more whilst in what he felt were safe places (ie. in the Shack or on the Stan O’ War II). Despite that, he still feels the need to be armed for reassurance whenever he goes out, even if it’s just to the town - and there are days where he will, without explanation, carry a weapon in his safe places too, something that Stan tactfully doesn’t mention. However, later on those same days Stan will usually a spot a new anomaly and insist they need to stay home so he can tell Ford about it, then spend all evening spinning a grand tale of how terrifying and fantastical it was in great detail, until Ford either is listening with complete awe or is terribly unamused and poking holes in the blatantly fabricated story - either way, the gun often ends up on the table, forgotten.

Bonus Headcanon 6 - Probably the most important one to me and plays a massive part in how I characterise Ford as a whole - I apologise for how LONG this one is but I have so so so many thoughts about it:

Ford is autistic and was diagnosed as a child, in the 60s. He grew up masking a lot of the more “obvious” traits, like repressing many of his body stims, because of bullying and family pressure - he was already “weird” and this just made him stand out more, so he tried to hide it. Big traits he had as a child that carried over to adulthood were his bluntness, difficulty in relating to others, sensitivity to sensory input (noise and texture were the main ones), and how he would focus intensely on particular topics that interested him. Behind-the-scenes he also received a lot of support from Stan (who I headcanon as ADHD and autistic, though his traits present very differently to Ford’s and he was never assessed or diagnosed, instead just treated as a ‘problem child’), and as such, began to struggle a lot more than he thought he would once Stan was no longer in his life and couldn’t secretly help him through things. As an adult, since he started living alone and had embraced his polydactly and made it his, Ford steadily started unmasking and just let himself exist in all his “weird” glory; including being more vocal about his own limits and needs, both personal and social. He stims a lot with DD&MD dice (which he is an avid collector of) as well as whatever little desk toys he can find (especially physics-based ones), and also has several hand-based stims like tapping or rubbing his fingers. One of his anxious stims, picked up during the nights where he was trying to keep himself awake, is tapping his thumb against his fingers sequentially and counting along “one, two, three, four, five”. Counting is general is an action he finds very soothing when he’s stressed or anxious. Finally, one thing that has never, ever changed about him is that once he gets focused on something he Will Not Stop - he’ll forgo food, sleep, and anything else because he simply forgets he needs it once he gets into the zone, and he’s terrible at reading the signals from his body informing him he is hungry or tired. Having others around, like Fiddleford and Stanley, to prompt him to look after himself is something he benefits from heavily.

Headcanon Ask Game

You've given me a bit to think about Anon. So, here's what I could come up with:

Rex obviously has PTSD after everything he went through. I also headcanon him as having a weaker immune system due to coming into contact with the Blue Shadow Virus, as well as potentially developing cardiac issues later on in life due to getting sniped by a commando droid in Saleucami.

Nax would very likely also suffer from PTSD since he survived some of the worst battles the 501st ever faced (Christophsis, Teth and Umbara). He does canonically have shrapnel in his leg, so he likely has a pronounced limp (he'd probably needs a cane to get around more easily).

As a triple amputee, Echo is not only visibly disabled but I think he'd need mandatory mobility aids to give his body some rest once in a while. His missions with Clone Force 99 and Rex's clone rebellion are very intense and physically tasking, so a hoverchair is a must. I also think he's very likely deaf in at least one ear, so he needs an hearing aid (and probably gradually loses hearing in his one good ear later in life). Lastly on the physical disability list, there's the high possibility of him needing a colostomy bag. On the psychological list we have PTSD and autism (the former affects him more than the latter ever did, but occasionally he has disassociative episodes that can last hours if he's stressed enough to shut down)

Kix has severe PTSD and likely suffers from intense nightmares and disassociative episodes post stasis freezing.

Aside from the doom and gloom above, I have always had the headcanon that Dogma is autistic. Had we gotten to see him past the Umbara Arc I have no doubt he would have also had suffered from PTSD due to the events that unfolded.

∇ - old age/aging headcanon

Mrs. Bradshaw starts finding grays in her hair before Bradley does and she’s super self-conscious about it at first. She tries to style her hair in ways that hide the gray streaks, and she freaks out every time she spots a new one.

Bradley catches her in the bathroom one night, crying her eyes out over it.

“They’re so ugly! I feel so ugly,” she sobs into his chest, feeling silly for being so melodramatic, but unable to stop the flow of tears.

“First of all,” Bradley says, lifting her chin and cupping her face in his hands. “You and ugly in the same sentence?” He drops a kiss on her forehead. “Impossible.” Stroking her tears away with his thumbs, he smiles slightly. “Second of all, I love the grays. They make you look like an even sexier MILF than you already were,” he winks.

And she can’t help it—she laughs.

A few days later, Bradley is extremely proud to show her his first gray hair—“See, baby? Now we match.”

And when they’re both really old and fully gray? Bradley’s still telling Mrs. B that she’s the most beautiful woman he’s ever laid eyes on. And he means it with his whole heart.

🧸 Tenth doctor

10th Doctor is a flip to me! He is SUCH a regressor and SUCH a caregiver at the same time.

I personally think that any version of The Doctor doesn't fit into dichotomies: they're always both of whatever is offered to them.

Random Headcanons:

1- bad at keeping regression gear separate: if he's taking care of a regressor, he'll steal their gear, but also give them things from his own stash: he just doesn't register the 'his' vs. 'theirs'

2- his physical affection goes way up when he's regressed, and he's definitely a 'run and jump into a hug' kind of regressor when he's comfortable with someone

3- I think The Doctor and The Master used to be a matched set of flips when they were both on Gallifrey and it adds to ye olde angst of 10's seasons

Lavender: How do they calm down in moments of major stress?

Mathias, despite his laidback disposition, really doesn't cope well with stress at all. In the moment he'll seem like he isn't taking any of it seriously whatsoever; he turns to humor in an attempt to calm himself down. He'll be smiling and cracking jokes, but all the while his shaking hands are buried deep in his pockets as he desperately tries not to lose his cool. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Patchouli: What sort of outdoor activities do they enjoy most? Do they get the chance to do that activity often?

Berwald is an avid outdoorsman; when he's not building furniture, he can be found chopping wood or hiking. He especially loves the repetitive monotony of chopping wood, as it gives his body something to do while his mind wanders in thought. He also has superb wilderness survival skills and will occasionally disappear into the woods for a few days to test his knowledge, much to the dismay of the other Nordics.

Musk: What do they usually smell like, or what does their home usually smell like?

Emil has a slight eggy-sulfur smell around him at all times, no matter how clean he is— it's especially noticeable when he's been sweating. He's rather self-conscious about it and has tried almost everything to get rid of or at least mask it, to varying results. His usual go-to is to douse himself in a sweet, powdery anise cologne.

Vanilla: What is a food or scent that carries a lot of nostalgia for them? How do they feel if they smell it now?

Tino has a special fondness for more Christmas-y scents, such as gingerbread, cinnamon, and peppermint; they remind him of when he was younger and had first taken on his role as a Santa. Due to that reason, he tries to keep those smells at hand year-round. When he's upset or anxious, they bring back the exhilarated joy he felt on his first sleigh ride. On the other hand, he hates the smell of sunflowers, as they bring back bad memories of the time he spent under Russia. Just the sight of them is enough to make him shudder.

Jasmine: What makes them feel beautiful?

There are a handful of things that make Lukas feel beautiful; he's a rather vain man, though that's not something he generally lets others know. Simple things such as winning a game of chess or watching how the sun hits his skin make him feel beautiful, but he considers himself to be the most beautiful when he's bathing. He has an intricate self-care routine and delights in brushing his hair. He could stand naked in front of the mirror for hours, just admiring his own body.

❤️‍🩹 - Hurt/Comfort

Pat realised early on that Thomas can talk for hours without really saying anything. It's the things he doesn't say that are the most enlightening, so Pat starts reading between the lines. It's how he learns that Thomas's father wasn't around for most of Thomas's life, or perhaps not around at all, and that Thomas would have traded all the money and support his mother gave him throughout his life for something as simple as a hug from her.

There is an emptiness in-between Thomas's sentences when one knows what to listen for; an aching silence that tells of a longing Thomas doesn't know how to express. Pat can't quite put his finger on what that means until Thomas pulls him so desperately close the night they think one of them will move on. When Pat makes him pull back almost at once, shame and embarrassment are written all over Thomas's face for all the world to see, and the puzzle pieces are finally falling into place.

There is no time to act on his revelation that evening. Too much is going on and emotions are running far too high to draw any attention to it. But the next morning he goes to find Thomas in the library, and when he sits down beside him, he doesn't hesitate before he pulls him into a hug - a gentler, less desperate version of the one the night before.

"You've been waiting for this for two-hundred years, haven't you?" he asks quietly. When Thomas's breathing hitches, Pat smiles sadly and holds him tighter. "I'm always up for a hug, mate. All you have to do is ask."

It changes everything. At first, Pat has to open his arms in silent invitation whenever it looks like Thomas is in need of a hug but once it sinks in that he really meant what he said, Thomas starts coming to him of his own accord. He's all shy and self-conscious when he does but Pat doesn't mind, not when Thomas smiles at him so heartbreakingly genuinely every time they part. It suits him, that smile, and Pat is glad to see it emerge more and more these days - and all because of a simple hug.

🍫 A headcanon about food: You get 2. 1, Shadow has pica, an eating disorder characterized by compulsively eating things of no nutritional value. Shadow tends to chew on and eat rocks and ice bc he likes how hard it is to chew. The closest thing to food that satisfies that craving is coffee beans, which is why he likes those so much- they satisfy the compulsion while still being food enough. 2, Having spent his whole youth on the ARK, he has almost zero exposure to different types of food. He’s so used to bland shit that he cannot handle any kind of intense flavor or spice.

🎭 A headcanon about what they lie about: Shadow is a pretty straightforward person to me, but I think he tends to “lie” and downplay his feelings about those around him bc it’s hard to admit that he cares. Not so much an outright lie, but a lie of omission. He also tends to do this with his PTSD, because opening up requires vulnerability. For example, Shadow canonically gets flashbacks so intense they cause him physical pain, but I think he tends to avoid disclosing the flashback part of that.

🧸 A headcanon about their childhood: He and Maria had a lot of shellac records from the ARK’s creation in the 20s-30s. Maria liked to sing along while she read.

🦾 A disability headcanon: By keeping his body regulated, his inhibitors help him to not suffer too much from his injuries, but since he wasn’t wearing them when it happened, the burns and injuries he sustained falling to Earth in SA2 are very deep and won’t quickly heal like his other injuries. He’s got some chronic pain from those- also, his wounds are like my scars, and every. Every fucking touch to them. Registers as pain. Any amount of pressure on his scars is enough to send him into self defense mode. As such, he’s wary about being touched. Chronic pain is enough without people with no ill will accidentally triggering it.

😶 A random headcanon!: The memory loss in Shadow the Hedgehog was not and scientifically could not have been caused by head trauma because then he would never have been able to get those memories back let alone have them just randomly resurface (such as the flashback at the beginning of the game). It being psychologically induced makes more sense to me- his brain had no idea how to keep going after all that, and so it did the only thing it could think of and tried to protect him from it by blocking out all the memories so Shadow could survive.
