It’s been a month since you and Bucky shared a bed. It’s been a month since he saved you from that disastrous date with Jackson. It’s been a month since you felt his arms around you, and you haven’t felt them since. It’s like after that night, Bucky went back to his normal ways of fucking a new girl every week. He refuses to think about that night, talk about that night, and acknowledge that it even happened.
Sometimes, he’d bring two girls back to the apartment for a very long night of you wanting to kill yourself from the noises you’d hear. You don’t get it. You thought you two had something. Were you just a means to an end? Another girl to get into his bed even though you never did anything other than sleep? Another notch in his belt?
The only person you can find comfort in is your best friend and Bucky’s sister, Mia. She’s the only one who will hear you complain about him because everyone does it. All of her friends who have gotten involved with Bucky have complained to her about how he didn’t treat them right or they caught feelings but he tossed them aside like they meant nothing.
However, this time it’s different. It’s the way you talk about Bucky or the way she sees him with other girls that makes her think there is something more to this than meets the eye.
“He hasn’t said anything to you?” you ask and fiddle with your cappuccino.
“No, sorry, hun.”
“I should move out. I don’t know where I’d go.”
“I wish I could say you can stay with me. Ty and I just converted the spare bedroom into our home office.”
“I know. I appreciate the offer. I have a little money saved but I have to tough it out until I get enough to afford something small.”
“Ty’s sister is a real estate agent. I can give her your number and she can try and help you out.”
“Yeah, maybe. I’m still trying to figure things out.”
“Hey, can Ty and I borrow your car this weekend? Ours is in the shop and we planned a romantic weekend up north.”
“Yeah, that’s fine. I’ll drop it off the night before.”
“Thanks!”
You take a sip from your coffee and hear a motorcycle in the distance. You’d recognize that bike anywhere. Bucky pulls up near the cafe where you and Mia are and parks on the side of the road. He has a girl on the back of his bike that he no doubt met that day. Right in front of him is some fancy clothing store she wanted to go to. She gets off the bike, removes her helmet, and leaves him on the bike to go inside the store alone.
Bucky looks in your general direction but with his helmet on, it’s hard to determine exactly what he is looking at. Still, that doesn’t stop the glare you’re giving him.
“Just ignore him,” Mia says and pops a doughnut hole into her mouth.
“Easier said than done,” you mutter and look away from him. “That next morning, he acted like nothing happened. I figured he didn’t want to talk about it. Then a couple of days passed and he still didn’t mention it. Weeks went by and now I know he’s doing this to me on purpose. He’s being an ass.”
Bucky gets off his bike and takes off his helmet to get some fresh air, and he leans against the side of it effortlessly. If you were to do that, you’d surely knock the bike over. He waits for his fuck buddy to come out of the store, and she bounces over to him with a bag in hand. She wraps her arms around his neck and he pulls her in for a kiss.
It’s the kind of kiss that is meant for the bedroom but also the kind of kiss you want to show off to someone. You can’t be here anymore.
“I gotta go. I’ll talk to you later.”
You get up and toss some bills onto the table for your drink and leave in the opposite direction of Bucky and his new toy.
Bucky pulls away from the girl and looks over to where you and Mia are. When he doesn’t see you, he looks around for you only to see your retreating figure. He feels like shit for doing that. He absentmindedly rubs the knuckles that hold small scars from when he beat Jackson up for what he did to you.
You take the entire day to walk around town and be by yourself, so when you get home it’s already dark. Bucky is in the kitchen cooking something when you put your keys in the bowl by the front door. You round the corner and see him cooking something with only a towel wrapped around his waist as if he just got out of the shower. However, there isn’t any water on his body.
“Grab it while it’s hot,” he says.
“Really? You’re cooking in a towel? You couldn’t have gotten dressed first?”
He opens his mouth to reply but someone speaks from his bedroom that interrupts him.
“Bucky, where are you? I’m getting lonely.”
Bucky doesn’t feel guilty that he has a girl over. He feels guilty that you caught him. He sees the heartbroken look in your eyes that makes him want to shoot himself.
“Thanks for the offer but I’m not hungry. I’m sleeping over at Mia’s tonight.”
He lets you walk away.
The weekend comes quicker than you’d like. Without a car, you’re stuck in the apartment, and you’re not about to ask Bucky for a ride on his motorcycle. You’re stuck in your room on your phone when you get a message from Mia.
Hey, I know you didn’t ask for this but I hooked you up with someone Ty knows. He’s super nice!
like a blind date?
Yeah. I can tell him you’re not interested. I figured this is your chance to get over my brother.
yeah, i can try. where is the date?
At the new bar that just opened next to the cafe. His name is Travis. I told him 7 tonight.
okay. thank you. i’ll let you know how it goes.
Seven is three hours away, so you better get ready now. After taking a shower, you look in your closet for something to wear and come across the dress you wore for your date with Jackson. You haven’t worn it since because of the memories attached to it. Not memories of Jackson, memories of Bucky. Next to that dress is Bucky’s leather jacket he told you to keep. Like the dress, you haven’t worn it since and you’re sure as hell not going to wear it now.
There is a floral print dress that goes down to your ankles. It’s off the shoulders with long sleeves down to your wrists that bunches so the sleeves look flowy instead of compressed. The entire dress is flowy and light, perfect for a blind date. The match, you have chunky white wedges that give you a few extra inches. You keep your makeup light, hair down in soft waves, and jewelry that compliments the dress.
You leave your room and look at Bucky’s closed door. He’s been spending a lot of time in his room this past week with girls he picks up from anywhere. The only reason you’re telling him where you’re going is because you live with him. If you don’t, he’ll send an army to go look for you. There are noises and giggling coming from inside the room but when you knock, they cease.
One minute later, the door opens a crack and Bucky stands there with messy hair and sweats on.
“I’m going out. Don’t wait up for me.”
Bucky takes a moment to look at the outfit you’ve chosen and his demeanour changes immediately.
“Where are you going?”
“I have a date.”
“You don’t have a car.”
“I’ll Uber. Have fun with your girlfriend.”
You leave before he has a chance to say anything else. It takes the Uber ten minutes to get to you and another thirty minutes to get to the restaurant. Mia sent you a picture of what the man looks like but it was grainy and unclear. You step out with your phone in hand while looking around for Travis.
“Y/N?”
You turn to see an attractive man wearing a nice suit. You look at the picture once more to confirm it’s Travis, which it is.
“You must be Travis,” you chuckle nervously.
“Yeah. Wow, Mia sent me your picture but nothing compares to real life. You’re beautiful.”
“Thank you,” you blush.
“I made us a reservation. Shall we go inside?”
“After you.”
You two walk inside, get your table, order, and start chatting about your lives. Travis is a bit boring when it comes to having adventures. Unlike you. You can write a book about the adventures you’ve been on because you have Bucky as a roommate. When he’s not fucking some random girl, he’s actually pretty cool to hang out with. You two have been everywhere in town doing all sorts of things.
“So, what do you do for work?” Travis asks and sips his drink.
“Uh, I am an IT specialist who works from home. I get calls daily on how to fix computers and other tech-related stuff. It pays well and I get to stay home, so that’s a bonus.”
“That’s awesome. I’m terrible when it comes to computers.”
“What do you do?”
“I am a financial manager. Like you, it pays well but I’m stuck in meetings and in the office all the time.”
“Have you always wanted to work in the financial world?”
The waitress comes by with your food and sets the plates in front of you and Travis. You think she’s going to walk away and you can continue your conversation with Travis, but that’s not what happens.
“Am I supposed to be impressed with this?” he asks angrily.
“Excuse me?” the waitress stutters.
“I don’t even have to touch this to know it’s cold. Do I have to go back there and tell you how to do your damn job?”
Your mouth opens in embarrassment and shock.
“I’m sorry, sir. I’ll take this back right now and have it fixed.”
The waitress grabs the plate without looking at you and leaves immediately. Poor thing looks like she is going to cry. Travis shakes his head and turns back to you as if this never happened.
“So, anyway, I went to business school and all that, but it’s nice to get out of the office every once in a while, you know?”
You have no idea what to say. Mistreating waitstaff is an immediate turn off. Everything attractive about this man suddenly turns sour. You’re lucky you saw this early on instead of at the end of the date.
“I’m sorry, I have to use the ladies room. I’ll be right back.”
“Oh, sure.”
You take everything you own with you because you’re not coming back to this table. You make it seem like you’re going to the bathroom in case he’s watching but once your table is out of sight, you find the first waitress you see which so happens to be yours.
“Hey, I am so sorry about the way he spoke to you like that. I don’t even know him. My best friend set me up. Listen, I gotta get out of here but the table we’re at is by the door. Is there a back entrance I can use?”
“Yeah, I got you. He gave me the ick as soon as I saw him,” she shutters. “Follow me.” She takes you through the kitchen and the back door that they use when they go on breaks. “Good luck.”
“Oh, and don’t be afraid to spit in his food.”
“Trust me, the cook’s all over it.”
You walk through the small alley next to the bar to the main street. You take out your phone to call an Uber, but luck has it so that you don’t have any service. You try moving the phone around, even walking down to the street light, but nothing comes up.
“Damn it,” you mutter.
You can’t call Mia. You can’t use your car because she has it. The only person you know is Bucky. Should you call him? He’s probably frolicking with that woman still. Even if you were to call him, he’d probably hate you for ruining his date. The only other option is to walk home even though it took thirty minutes to get here by car.
The road stretches through the mountain briefly which you don’t want to walk through but what else are you gonna do? If you can’t get service in a busy restaurant area, there is no way you’re gonna get service in the mountains. The walk gives you time to think about your life. You have a good job that pays well but you can’t keep living with Bucky if it means seeing him with all these women. You have a major thing for him and it kills you to know you’re not the one he’s going home with.
Ten minutes go by until you hear the unmistakable sound of a motorcycle. It races past you without a second thought, screeches to a stop, turns around, and slowly creeps up behind you. You don’t have to see who it is to know who it is. Bucky pulls up next to you and walks the bike to keep up with your pace.
“Get on the bike.”
“No, I’ll walk. Thanks.”
“Don’t be difficult, Y/N. Get on the bike.”
“How the hell did you even find me?”
“I asked Mia. She told me the guy you were on a date with. I looked him up, and he posted to his Facebook about how his date ditched him, and all women are beneath him. He’s a fucking loser. I mean, he still uses Facebook,” he chuckles. “I figured you were out here somewhere.”
“Stop stalking me,” you roll your eyes. “I’ll meet you at home.”
“Get on the damn bike.”
“No!” Bucky revs his engine and surges forward, parking right in front of you to prevent you from going further. You try to go around him but he moves his bike in your path. “Why the hell do you care about me? You’ve proven I mean nothing to you.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” he asks and gets off his bike.
“You fucking know what I’m talking about. If you don’t, then you’re not worth my time.” You try pushing past him to continue your walk but he grabs your arm to prevent you from doing so. You quickly turn and slap his face. The shock is enough for him to let go of you. “Don’t fucking touch me. The last time you touched me, you left and never spoke of it again. Just go, please. You have a girl waiting for you at home. Just go to her.”
“I can’t!”
“Why not?!”
“Because she’s not you!” he yells loudly.
“Do better,” you scoff.
“Fuck,” he mumbles to himself. “I love you!” You pause to take in the information. “I can’t get you out of my fucking head. I’ve been trying all month to get you out of my head. None of the girls I’ve brought home have ever stuck because they’re not you. Being with you that one night has been better than anything I’ve done all fucking month.”
“Then why did you let me walk away?” you ask in a heartbreaking tone.
“Because I’m an idiot. Because you’re the realest thing I’ve ever had, and I didn’t want to fuck it up.”
Silence befalls the two of you, and you look around the desolate road.
“So, what are you gonna do about it?”
More silence. Bucky takes three big steps to get to you, grabs your waist with one hand, slides his other into your hair, and kisses you like he was supposed to a month ago. His lips fit so perfectly against your own like they belong there. You’ve pictured this moment in so many different ways, but this is not on your list.
“Are we really doing this?” you ask when he pulls away.
“Do you want to?” You nod with a smile. “You’re my girl now.”
“No more other women.”
“I’ve got the one I want.”
He leans down and kisses you again, this time, making your head soar to new places.

Being part of the Revolutionary Army is tough, and you know it well—but thankfully, you have your friends with you who removes the stress you're having, specifically Koala and Sabo.
“Y/n! You're done with your tasks..!?” Koala enthusiastically asks, jumping on your figure and embracing you tightly, as if she hasn't seen you in forever.
“Haha, yes, yes. I'm done, so I'm here, spending my time with you to relax.” You hum, caressing the girl's back as you waddled over the chair beside the blond male with Koala embracing you tightly as if she really is a koala.
“Hey there, Sabo.” You greet the male who nod, a small, childish pout on his face as he hummed a small greeting. “..Mhm, hello to you too, Y/n....”
Taking notice of his unusual behavior, you tilt your head, asking him, “What's wrong, Sabo? You seem a little down there..”
“Oop,” Koala grins, looking at the chief of staff who looked away. “is someone je—?” “It's nothing, Y/n..!”
Cutting the woman off, Sabo waved his hands in the air, preventing Koala from speaking anything more.
“Eh~? It doesn't seem like that. There's definitely something wrong, so spill it, Sabo.” You demand, raising your brows as Sabo gripped the armrest, biting his lower lip.
“Wait, wait, I don't want to be a third wheel here, so—lemme just leave, and Sabo-kun, go on, hehe!” Koala chuckles, jumping out of your arms and dashing away, leaving you two alone.
“Third wheel? What was that about, Koala...!?” You exclaim, standing up and attempting chasing after the girl who already left—your wrist being held by Sabo, stopping you from going anywhere further from him.
“Y/n.” Sabo calls, his grip tightening as he pulled you closer to him, holding your other hand, looking at you directly, taking a deep breath.
“...Sabo..?” You mutter, blinking at the blond who took your hand to his face, lips kissing them gently, causing you to have a blush creep up your cheeks.
“Y/n, I'm jealous. You've been spending more time with Koala, and less time with me..” He admits with a small frown on his face, hand still holding yours.
“What, w-why are you jealous, Sabo—I-I'm confused..?” You mumbled, eyes wandering around, not wanting to meet with Sabo's.
“Sigh.. Okay, I'll go straight to the point,” Sighing deeply, Sabo then moves his hand to caress your cheek, “I love you, Y/n.”
Saying these awaited words, your blush spread further to your whole face and down to your neck, feeling all warm and fuzzy.
“I love you, so you better love me too.” He huffs, being more demanding as he puffed his cheeks up, his childishness surfacing, clinging on to you.
“I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you!” Repeating his i-love-you's, your heart beat raced, not being able to utter a word out from shock..
“Y/n,” Sabo calls once again, pulling away and looking you with a small smile, brows tugged down, “Do you love me too?”
Hitching a breath, you then looked at Sabo with bright eyes, nodding your head slowly, as you smiled back at him, “..Yeah—omph!” before being engulfed into a hug by the blond who isn't able to contain his smile anymore, laughing in glee.
“Aahhh, I love you!” He exclaims as your stiffened figure softened, hand caressing the revolutionary's back as you smiled, returning his words, “I love you too...”

High in the halls of the kings who are gone Jenny would dance with her ghosts The ones she had lost and the ones she had found And the ones who had loved her the most
The ones who'd been gone for so very long She couldn't remember their names They spun her around on the damp old stones Spun away all her sorrow and pain
And she never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave Never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave
They danced through the day And into the night through the snow that swept through the hall From winter to summer then winter again 'Til the walls did crumble and fall
And she never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave Never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave
The ones who had loved her the most - Early Life
Revati and Tarini were inseparable from the moment they came into the world. Born merely seven minutes apart, a distinction that much Tarini's irritation won Revati the title of "big sister", the twins were each others first friend. In adolescence they developed a language all their own, one that not even their parents could decipher. It was a mix of various syllables and languages that at a glance appeared to be random babbling but was in fact much more. Both girls were curious and playful, often playing pranks on their older brother and various staff members throughout the palace. It became well known that if one was out talking to an adult, the other was off somewhere wreaking havoc. For Tarini's part being a princess was glorious. All of the handsome boys fell over themselves for her hand and she had as many gowns and jewels as she could possibly want. Life was carefree and attractive. Even as her younger siblings came along and stole her parents attention Tarini never felt alone.
And she never wanted to leave - Doomsday
The Chola Princess can still remember the day. Each second notched into her skull. The way her sister clawed at her chest, pulse throbbing against pale skin. For the first time in their lives Revati and Tarini were no longer identical. Each labored breath pierced a dagger through her heart. When finally the light left the once bright eyes of her sister Tarini wailed. She through her fists against the Chola's healer. Begging that he do something, anything to bring her sister back to her. When he insisted that no more could be done, she called for his head. It took two of her brothers to hold her back as she attempted to claw her way to the man who had failed her sister. A part of her soul died that day. It withered like the flowers so often given to her. Blackening and shriveling until the part of her that had once been full of merriment ceased to exist.
Tarini vowed at that moment that the sickness would never take another so long as she had something to say about it. She threw herself into studies, apprenticing with a healer despite her families insistence that it was too dangerous. Five years was a long time and her knowledge grew with each tragedy laid bare before her. As her knowledge grew she could not shake the rage at the ineptitude of her sister's healer. Tarini fully believed there was more he could have done and yet he chose not to. She did the one thing she never thought herself capable of - she murdered him. Days later she left to begin healing those throughout the countryside and hasn't been home since.
From winter to summer then winter again - Present Day
Whoever the little girl had been was no longer present. An adult now prone to melancholy it took effort to bring a smile to her features. Her only relief came from the good work she performed across the countryside and beyond. Years were spent traveling with those treating the sick and ill. Tending to the wounded after a battle or siege. The world was cruel and the princess now carried arms. It was a small dagger gifted to her by a family member, always worn at the hip. An antidote to most poisons rests in the pendant that lay between her breasts.
She supports the trip to Scotland though worries for her families safety. After hearing of the incidents incidents at home and of a father killed she vowed to come home to her family. There were those in the summit who could still benefit from her skill. Tarini arrived shortly before they took their leave for Scotland and traveled among the caravan tending to the wounds of her people.
Misc. Facts
Tarini hoards her late sisters most prized possessions in a special trunk inside her chambers. Any one who dares disturb it is severely reprimanded.
Tarini abhors violence and though capable of defending herself, wishes men would use their brains rather than their swords to work out a problem.
She almost always has her nose in the latest physician's text; writing down antidotes and new ways of curing an illness.
Along her travels she picked up a faithful companion; a large boarhound. Wherever she goes it follows, woe to anyone but her who tries to pen up the beast.
Though forbidden, she had herself marked ink with Revati's name written in Hindi along the inside curve of her left breast. As close to her heart as can be.

15 or 19 for Eskel and Lambert? I’m feeling soft tonight🥺 (if you’ve closed your asks that’s totally okay)
19. “I thought I’d lost you”
"Where's Eskel?" Geralt bellowed over the melancholy drone of hunting horns and the scream of cold winds.
Vesemir looked south, his face twisted with chagrin. "Dammit. We agreed he'd open that gate."
"Hasn't done it yet, means..."
"He'll be fine. We've got Triss to worry about!"
Lambert watched them sprint towards Triss' position. He should have followed. Should have stuck to the plan. But he couldn't. The thought of Eskel being torn apart by the Hunt's hounds made his blood run colder than the frost beneath his feet.
Three years of drinking alone as Lambert let their relationship falter. Three years of bitterness after Eskel wouldn't just... walk away from it all. Three years of pain knowing that Eskel had chosen the Path over them. Over whatever they could've had. Three years of trying to convince himself he hated Eskel. Didn't need him. Had never needed him.
But Lambert had lost Aiden. Had barely started mourning him properly. He wasn't losing Eskel too. And if he already had? Well, he didn't have time to think about it.
Lambert cleared the courtyard, the steps, the walls between him and Eskel. He headed towards the gate. Towards Eskel and whatever fate awaited him.
As Lambert drew closer, he could hear the clash of steel, the glass-shattering noise of splintering shields and the crunch of broken bone as something heavy and unyielding smashed into something made of muscle and bone. When Lambert rounded the corner, Eskel was struggling to his feet, one arm across his torso, his face spattered in blood. The Navigator swung his staff and knocked Eskel back to the floor before moving in for the kill.
"No!" Lambert's voice carried over the tumultuous roar of the winds and the Navigator froze for a second. A second was all Lambert needed. He sprinted forward and threw an Aard with all the ferocity he could muster, and put himself between the man he loved and the icy talons of fate. If death was to reap souls tonight, it would take them both.
A flash of green - a glint of steel - a shock of ash blonde hair. "See I can do it, too!" Ciri yelled as she knocked the Navigator away, parrying each of his blows.
Lambert took the reprieve and crouched by Eskel. Unlike the others, he had never underestimated Ciri. Even as a young urchin flipping over the combs he had treated her as an equal, never a child. She could hold her own long enough for Lambert to reassure himself that Eskel was still alive. He slipped a leather-clad palm beneath Eskel's head, and his chest only loosened when honey-gold eyes gazed back at him. "Thought I'd lost you, big guy," he rasped.
"Ahh, he..." Eskel coughed and flinched; some ribs had broken, "...hits like a girl."
"Pretty fucking hard, then." Lambert wiped the hair from Eskel's face, and they both managed the flicker of a smirk before Lambert said, "I'm done drinking alone."
Time held its breath and Lambert watched recognition and light flood Eskel's eyes. They stood together as a guttural noise, like a large foghorn, rung out. Caranthir disappeared into fog and light, leaving more foot soldiers in his wake.
Eskel jutted his chin at Ciri, who drew her sword up to her shoulder, and then at the cluster of soldiers approaching their flank. "I'll take these!" he said. She nodded, glanced at Lambert, and the three witchers rushed forward together to defend their home.
Because 'home' wasn't a building - a mouldy castle with a leaking roof - it was family.

ATEEZ Wooyoung- School President (Oneshot)
Genre: light angst, suggestive/steamy, high school au.
Pairing: SchoolPresident!Wooyoung x badgirl!reader
Warnings: none.
Tumblr media
"Miss L/N, detention after school till 4 p.m." your chemistry teacher said, making you mentally groan. It was the last class of the day and you were dying to go home, but now you had to stay for an extra hour. All your classmates turned to look at you, but they weren't surprised. "You still haven't submitted the assignment."
"Can I just submit it tomorrow?" you asked in a bored tone.
"No, you were supposed to submit it a week ago," she said, gathering her stuff to leave the class. "Detention with Mrs. Hwang today." You heard people around you snicker. Well, fuck. Mrs. Hwang was the strictest teacher in school. Even you were scared of her despite your badass attitude.
You got up from your seat, leaving the classroom with an annoyed expression on your face.
"Detention again, Y/N?" your bestfriend asked as she made her way to you with your other friends.
You rolled your eyes. "Ms. Jang will never fucking let me live in peace. I'll see you guys tomorrow," you said, making your way to detention.
You were surprised to find the room empty. Usually, there would always be about three or five students. Since no one was here, you decided to ditch; you would skip school the next day so that your teachers will forget about it. You turned around to leave, but ended up bumping into someone, slightly startling yourself.
"What are you doing here?" you asked, raising an eyebrow at your school president and heartthrob—also called 'senior's eye candy' at your school—Jung Wooyoung.
You had to admit, he was certainly the most handsome guy you've ever seen. Jung Wooyoung was absolutely perfect. Every girl wanted him and every guy wanted to be him. You were sure half your school tried to hit on him despite the fact that he has a girlfriend.
"Unfortunately, I'm here to make sure that you won't escape detention as Mrs. Hwang is busy, so take a seat," he said, moving around you to sit on a chair and taking a notebook out of his bag.
You always found Jung Wooyoung very interesting. Other guys like him—the nerdy ones—can't even talk to you, let alone look you in the eye. Jung Wooyoung was the complete opposite.
You sat on one of the chairs, immediately taking your phone out.
"You can't use your phone here," Wooyoung said, not looking up at you from his notebook. "Why don't you complete your assignment?"
You scoffed. "And if I don't? What are you gonna do about it?"
"Nothing," he said, looking at you. "It's not affecting me in any way, so I don't care. However, Ms. Jang is gonna fail you again if you don't submit your assignment."
You knew he was right. And that annoyed you; you really just wanted to shut his pretty mouth up.
"Whatever," you mumbled, taking out a notebook and the assignment sheet to start working on the reactions you had to write.
However, you were completely blank. You didn't know or understand a word given on the sheet. You bit your lip as you stared at the sheet, wondering what to do.
Finally, you took out your phone and googled all the reactions, easily finishing the assignment in less than half an hour.
"You know, you won't be able to copy during finals," Wooyoung said, closing his notebook. "Even if you're copying now, at least learn what you've copied."
"I didn't ask for your comments," you retort. He was about to say something, but his phone rang.
"Hey, baby," he answered. " . . . I'm in charge of detention today . . . Oh, that's okay," his face fell slightly. " . . . No, it's alright. We can go some other day . . . Hmm, I love you too. Bye!"
You snorted, feeling bad for the boy. You were surprised someone as smart as him hasn't figured out that his girlfriend has been cheating on him. You've seen his girlfriend shoving her tongue down random people in the club, and hitting on people at your school. You remembered how shocked you were when you first found out that she was cheating on him; because why would anyone cheat on someone as perfect as Jung Wooyoung?
"You can leave now," Wooyoung said, getting up from his seat. "Detention is over." You nodded, leaving as fast as you can, just wanting to go home and sleep.
Tumblr media
"Your grades aren't very bad, but they aren't great either, Y/N," your class teacher said. "You'll get into an average college with these grades. But I know you can do much better. So I've asked one of the prefects to tutor you in Chemistry and Physics."
You groaned. "Can I do it by myself?"
"You wouldn't do it by yourself," she said. "Anyway, Jung Wooyoung will be tutoring you. Discuss and decide your timings with him. I expect you to score well on the next exam. I do not want to see you fail in any subject again." Before you could say anything, the door to the staff room opened, revealing none other than Jung Wooyoung. "Ah, Wooyoung, I just told Y/N that you will be tutoring her," she said. "I'm expecting you to do a great job."
Wooyoung smiled. "I won't let you down, Mrs. Park. But Y/N must put in efforts or else there's no point," he stated in a polite tone, and you rolled your eyes.
"Yes, that's true," she turned to look at you. "I'm expecting nothing but your best efforts, Y/N." She's always expecting something, huh, you thought. You only smiled, bowing politely.
"I'll do my best."
-
"What the actual fuck is this?" you mumbled, staring at the lengthy derivation written in Wooyoung's notebook. He rolled his eyes, so tired of hearing you say that to literally everything you saw written in his notebook.
"Ah, why did they have to make me tutor you of all people?" he whined. "You clearly haven't paid attention in class for even half a second."
"No one told you to accept it," you said, ignoring his last comment.
"I had to," he scoffed, stretching his arms out, making you glance at the veins on his arms. "Extra credits, you know?"
"Nerd," you muttered under your breath. He heard you, but didn't say anything. He began teaching you how to derive it; you paid attention for the first few seconds before zoning out. When you zoned back in, he asked you to explain what he just explained. You bit your lip, thinking of what to say.
He sighed. "You didn't pay attention again."
"I zoned out, sorry."
"That's what you said for the previous derivation," he said, a disappointed look on his face while he packed up his things.
"You're leaving already?" you asked, glancing at the time on your phone; you still had twenty minutes left.
"I'm not going to waste my time teaching you right now," he said. "You clearly aren't in the mood to focus." You only scoffed, watching him leave the library. You bit your lip, feeling kinda bad for not paying attention when he was making an effort to teach you.
The look of disappointment he showed you had somehow made you determined to prove that you could focus and do better.
Tumblr media
You were at Wooyoung's house, sitting on his bed and scrolling through your social media while waiting for him to finish changing out of his uniform. You spent an entire two weeks studying your ass off, and you were proud you made a big improvement, thanks to Wooyoung. He was quite surprised that you were actually making an effort to understand whatever he taught you. You both even became friends, and you were quite happy about that.
"I'm done," he said, coming out of his bathroom, making you look up from your phone. You held your breath at the sight of Wooyoung dressed in grey sweatpants and a black tank top. You couldn't stop yourself from checking him out: the veins running down his muscled arms, his exposed collarbones, his sharp jawline, his plump lips . . .
You were so immersed into checking him out, you didn't realize he was doing the same to you. He loved how your uniform skirt rid up your thighs, and how another two buttons on your shirt were unbuttoned, exposing a little bit of your cleavage. Before you knew it, he was slowly making his way towards you, eyes now locked with yours.
"Let's start, hmm?" he said with a smirk; he knew you were checking him out.
You clear your throat a little. "Yeah, let's start."
You spent the next half an hour trying to pay attention to whatever Wooyoung was teaching you. It didn't help that he absentmindedly placed his hand on your knee, or brushed your hand with his; he knew exactly what he was doing to you. Your mind kept wandering to the things you want him to do to you right now on his bed.
" . . . and now you should tell me," he leaned a little close to you with a smirk, making your heartbeat speed up. "Which formula should be used?"
"Fuck this," you muttered, pushing the books aside before straddling Wooyoung's lap.
"Took you long enough," he chuckled, and you crashed your lips on his. He instantly kissed you back, hands moving to grip your waist. You wouldn't admit it to anyone, but you have been dreaming about kissing Wooyoung the second he talked back to you a year ago.
You pulled away to litter his neck in kisses, sucking the skin gently. He groaned softly, making you smirk. "Fan of neck kisses?"
"You have no idea," he said, hands moving underneath your skirt to grip your bare inner thighs. He gave it a squeeze, making you involuntarily grind down on him. He moaned at the feeling, encouraging you to do it again. You moved your lips back to his, grinding on him even more. Wooyoung's hands slipped into your panties, grabbing your ass to help you grind down on him faster. The friction made you moan, craving for more. You tugged on his shirt, breaking the kiss to let him pull it off. You ran your hand down his toned torso in awe, loving the feeling of his abs beneath your fingertips. Your eyes widened at the tattoo above his hip bone. "You have a tattoo?!"
Wooyoung gripped your hips, moving you off of him so that he could hover over you. "Mhmm, bet you never expected the nerdy school president to have a tattoo, huh?" Your hands moved to his hair, playing it with while he began to kiss your neck, driving you crazy.
Wooyoung kissed down your chest till where your shirt was unbuttoned. He glanced up at you, fingers toying with the buttons. "Can I?" he asked. You nodded, letting him unbutton your shirt and slip it off you. You sucked in a breath when he ran his fingers over the lacy material of your bra.
"Take it off," you whined, making him chuckle.
"Patience, baby," he said, one hand gently rubbing your thigh.
But you really didn't have any patience right now.
You brought his lips to yours while you moved his hand to touch you where you desperately needed him, surprising him a little. He kissed you back hungrily while his finger moved on your clothed clit, applying pressure, making you get wetter. Your moans made him smirk; he loved how he was the reason behind it.
You both got startled at the sudden sound of his garage opening. He halted his movements, pulling away from you instantly.
"One of my parents is back from work," he said, quickly putting on his tank top and handing you your uniform shirt. You quickly buttoned it and straightened out your hair; you really did not want Wooyoung's strict parents to suspect anything since they already did not like the idea of him tutoring you in his final year of high school.
Wooyoung's father knocked on his bedroom door before opening it, finding you and Wooyoung busy writing equations.
"Oh, hey, dad! How was work?" Wooyoung asked with a sweet, innocent smile like as if he wasn't smirking a few minutes ago while touching you.
"Hello, Mr. Jung," you said politely.
"Hello, Y/N," he said. "Work was all right, as usual. How is your tutoring session going?"
"Good, dad," Wooyoung said, trying to control himself from smirking. "It's going really great."

Blaire Reviews: Nysa Season 4
Disclaimer: This is all my opinion, you are allowed to disagree with me. I encourage you to read this route and form your own opinions.
This season hit kind of close to home with the whole “controlling parents” plot so expect this review to get very angry. (Apologies in advance)
So the Nysa is missing conflict got resolved pretty quickly. (At least she’s okay)
Understandable being nervous about MC’s parents. Meeting the parents can always be scary, especially considering Nysa’s situation and the fact that MC’s parents are fucking pieces of shit not the most open minded people.
Tumblr media
They even look like stuck up assholes. Marv looks like she’s ready to ask for the manager at the drop of a hat. Also the fake sincerity is not subtle whatsoever, it’s made immediately apparent that these are not nice people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They of course prove this point further when they begin to insult the Grandmother, saying that she lures children into a life of crime. Further showing their lack of knowledge about how anything works, and how little they actually care about the kids involved.
Nysa (understandably) gets upset by this and leaves. For a moment, it seems like she might snap at them (I wish), but seeing as the people in question were her girlfriend’s parents, I think she made the right decision.
Then MC’s parents drop the bomb that they want to pay her bail and get her out of her sentence, which she refuses. This goes over about as well as you’d expect from people like them.
The first half of the season was essentially MC avoiding her parents after that wonderful meeting, and Nysa feeling guilty for the strained relationship between both parties (my poor baby 😭).
MC decides that she needs to clear things up with her parents and calls them back. To which she finds out that they took “no don’t bail me out” as “I’ll change my mind” and were planning to proceed with the paperwork.
Tumblr media
Meeting with her parents again only helps to solidify my desire to punch them both in the face. At first, it seems like they’re actually listening to her, but of course, it’s a broken record, with the same message of “we know what’s best for you” on repeat with slight alterations to give the appearance that they are actually listening.
They also have the absolute fucking audacity to insult Nysa, which leads to MC confessing her love for her. This comes as a surprise to MC, her parents, and Nysa, who had just shown up. And who left as soon as she arrived.
Nysa doesn't tell MC she loves her immediately, which makes sense when you consider her upbringing. She has never had anyone tell her that they loved her, nor has she felt close enough to someone to say it back.
Nysa leads MC to the lavender fields, which might be my favorite scene in this route. She enlisted the help of the rest of the staff and Milo (I'm surprised Lovestruck remembered he exists) to set up a picnic for MC, and if you thought that wasn't romantic, it gets better.
Tumblr media
As someone with an unhealthy obsession with flower language, I feel obligated to share the full description. Lavender represents purity, silence, devotion, serenity, grace, and calmness (most of which Nysa did mention but let me be obsessed). Nysa's describes MC as her home, and tells her that she loves her.
Speaking of my obsessions, the writing in this scene is just
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The number of screencaps I had from this episode alone could make their own post.
The picnic wasn't the only surprise Nysa had up her sleeve. She brought MC and her parents to the amusement park and pitched their plan to them. To my surprise, MC's parents had a change of heart and gave the girls their support as well as genuine apologies. I still don't like the parents, but it was nice to see them own up to their actions.
The party the rest of the staff had for Nysa and MC when they left Sweet Enchantments was such a lovely moment. There was almost a bittersweet feeling to the whole scene and the perfect farewell to the cafe.
We fast forward three months later to the amusement park being incredibly successful. The relationship between MC and Nysa and MC's parents seems to have improved (still don't like them), and Nysa and MC are living their best lives. We also get a mention of the human MC (it's been a while, hasn't it).
Final Thoughts
While it's sad to see another route end, (and possibly series if Milo is never continued) this season was an incredible end to Nysa's route. I've already gushed about the writing, and the dynamics, between MC and Nysa as well as the entire group, was probably the strongest it had been throughout the route.
Then and Now
When we first meet Nysa, she's a rude, sarcastic, snarky little shit who is constantly causing trouble. By the end of this season, her attitude had done a total 180. She turned into a total sweetheart, and seems much more comfortable with other people.
Overall Rating: 9/10
Favorite CG:
It was a difficult choice between this CG and the one in the lavender fields, but I decided to go with:

Loyalty
If I'm being honest, I never had a job in food service. But I had to assume they were all the same mostly. Things like learning the names of the drinks and the regular customers as well as how to handle a tray filled with heavy things were to be expected. However, given my place of 'work', getting grabbed, touched, and pinched wasn't. Two weeks later and I was as used to it as you could be. When you go from living in a girls home, sharing a room, and counseling sweet innocent children to your own space in a mansion and bringing drinks backstage to the dancers, it would never feel normal.
The girls were nice enough though and I never saw Inuyasha which I was fine with. Mostly.
I'd even made friends with most of those that worked there. Some were just there to strip and make money so a little inexperienced waitress wasn't worth their time. Which was fine. But my favorite was a girl named Sango.
Her eyes brightened at the sight of me, a smile on her pretty face as she paused in putting on her fake lashes. I handed off the other drinks, giving Sango her whiskey sour last. "Oh, I do love the nights you're working Kagome."
"Which is every night?"
Sango giggled, taking a sip and moaning her appreciation of the flavor. "Yes. But you are so quick with our orders. The others take forever."
"I just don't want you guys going without some liquid courage. I couldn't do what you guys do."
Sango tisked her tongue at me as I leaned against her vanity table. "It's not that bad. I mean, the audition was a little awkward."
"Audition?"
Sango went back to her makeup, lining her lips with a dark red lipstick. "Yeah. Having to get naked in from of the boss? That was nerve-wracking, wasn't it? Naomi told me she had to do the same thing even as a server. You had to too right?"
I shuttered. So everyone had to do that? Inuyasha had slept with every single girl in this place as an audition? Was that what that was? I lost my virginity to a man like that?
I swallowed my disgust and the rising vomit in my throat, suddenly feeling a desperate need to get checked for STDs because he definitely didn't wear a condom with me, and pushed off the table. "I should get back to it."
"Yep yep. Don't want the boss to catch you slacking!"
As if he could, he was never here. Too busy 'auditioning' more girls. The only one here every day, giving me a hard time, was Koga. He was always somewhere around the club, waiting to bark at me for doing something wrong or touch me. It was never in an inappropriate place but it was still unwanted. A hand on my shoulder or a push to my back. Once, he patted my butt and I nearly tore his arm off. He hasn't done it since but I see him do it to the others all the time.
Returning to one of my tables, I leaned in to be heard over the loud music. The girl on stage now was talented for sure so I was always surprised when anyone gave me their attention over those on stage. Probably thanks to the required low cut top I had to wear. It wasn't even a top really, it was a vest and I barely fit in it. There definitely wasn't room for a bra. And the pants sat low on my hips so my skin showed all the time. Every time I leaned over, I waited for a breast to fall out. Not that anyone would mind, save for me.
Plastering a smile on my face, I listened as the guy I was attending rattled off a drink order as slowly as he could to keep me there longer. It was a struggle to keep my fake smile up. He finally finished, certain he was touching himself under the table the whole time, I fled to the bar. Far from safe, it still had fewer men ogling me at it.
I rested, waiting for my order and Naomi stood next to me. "Hey, Kagome? I'm not really sure I should say something but...there's a guy here who keeps sitting in my section and watching you."
I suppose stalkers were a normal thing here. It didn't mean I was okay with it. "He's watching me? With that going on?"
I thumbed towards the stage as Sango did a super sexy split on the pole. Not sure what I'd do with myself if I was ever that sexy but it was nice to dream. "Well...I've only been here a few days but yeah. I wasn't going to tell you until I was sure. I mean he's far less creepy than the other guy that watches you…"
"There are two guys watching me?!"
She grabbed my shoulders to reassure me. "I'm not really sure! I haven't even been here a week yet. But it seems like this guy is definitely here to watch you. He sits in the corner booth in the back so he can see you but you never seem to see him…" I gently pulled from her hold and made the quick decision to face the creep. "Wait, Kagome!"
I waved back to her, heading off towards the mentioned table. "Don't worry, I won't get you in trouble."
I didn't have to go all the way to the table, figuring out pretty quickly who it was. Shaking my head and growling a laugh in irritation, I walked right up to Inuyasha who looked a little taken aback that I seemed to notice him. Crossing my arms over my chest served two purposes; hiding my overexposed breasts and showing him how pissed I was at him in general. How the hell did Naomi not know who this was? She auditioned for him last week!
Setting his drink down carefully, he cleared his throat over the loud music and adjusted his seat. "I just wanted to check on you, that's all. See how my investment was holding up."
That wasn't good enough for me and I told him as much by not changing or saying a thing.
"This is my club, damnit, I can come in and do whatever the fuck I want."
"Yes you can, Boss," Koga said, coming up from behind out of nowhere. "Everything up to your standards?"
There was something about Koga. He said one thing but clearly felt another. Inuyasha had to be ignoring it, no way he missed the indignation in Koga's demeanor. "Everything is fine, Koga. Except for your customers getting too handsy with the wait staff!"
To my added irrigation, Koga put his hands on my shoulders as if to hold me steady. Never did I ever need another to keep me steady or still and now wasn't the exception. I glared over my shoulder at him but he ignored me. But then his hands popped off me as if burned and I turned back to Inuyasha who looked ready to kill someone. And that someone was Koga so he stepped further away from me.
"I'll..uh...I'll see what I can do about that, Sir."
Just the two of us again, I turned to leave but Inuyasha called out to me again. "Looks like you're blending in here. A real chameleon or just within your element here?"
Turning on my heel, I stormed back up to his table. Leaning over I put my finger as close to his face as I could. "I survive. It's what I've always done and those girls back at the home wouldn't if they were tossed out on the street. So remember that when you think I'm okay with any of this. With you, this place, getting my ass grabbed daily, or even going through your audition. I'm a survivor and I will survive this."
He had backed up a little in his seat but I'd rid the distance in an instant. Big golden eyes danced between my finger, eyes, and lips. "I can see that." I slowly removed myself from his bubble and he crossed his arms over his chest like he was the one wronged. "I said I was sorry the other night. I lost control and took things too far…"
"Do you say that to all the others too? Is this your blanket apology for using women the way that you do?"
He had been looking toward the exit but snapped back to me with my words. "What are you talking about?"
I huffed, pissed to the point of tears. "Fine. Play dumb. Stop coming here and watching me. I'm not going to screw up your stupid club."
He tried to say something but I really wasn't interested. It wasn't like we didn't live together, not that I ever saw him at home either. If he really wanted to talk to me, he could do it there.
I caught Koga grinning at me as I stormed away, feeling Inuyasha's glare on my back. All I could think was that I really had fallen into a den of demons somehow.
oOo
Checking every day, every hour, I didn't see Inuyasha return. A week had passed and he hadn't come back to the club. Meaning things went back to the way they were, not seeing or hearing from him at all. This time I was glad.
That is until I got to work on another Friday night.
The place was packed and Koga was far too pleased about it. "Kagome you're going on stage tonight."
"Wait, what?!"
"We're short-staffed and I've gotten requests. So you're dancing tonight. Be ready to go on after Kiki."
I was numb, staring at my reflection at the vanity that Sango let me use. She was doing something with my hair but I felt none of it. The only man I'd ever been naked in front of was Inuyasha and I was fine with that. It was a livable condition to my servitude. But now I was going to be naked in front of a ton more. As I said, the place was packed tonight so easily 50-60 people were going to see my bush.
"It's not that big a deal, Kagome, I promise."
"That's easy for you to say! You can dance! And you're super sexy."
Sango sat down beside her and frowned. "You're sexy!" When I frowned in return, she kept on. "You are! Plus, dancing isn't so bad. You're alone and no one is touching you. It's easy to pretend you're just dancing in front of your mirror. Stay out of the champagne rooms though. They touch a lot in there."
I'd heard about those rooms and had stayed clear the entire time I'd worked here. But I was a server. As a dancer, if someone paid to take me in there, didn't I have to go?
The question was bouncing around in my brain when the door to the dressing room slammed open. Inuyasha took a quick look around and when his eyes landed on me, they went from bronze to molten metal. The others squealed and ran while I was frozen in my seat, Sango stuck by me even as he stormed up and ripped me up from my seat. The only thing he said or did before dragging me out was grab a robe and throw it at me.
"Cover yourself."
In the bra and panty set I had worn there that night, cause no way in hell was I borrowing from anyone else, it was nearly my turn to go on but Inuyasha was taking us towards the exit. Koga stood near it, shaking with anger and...fear?
"I told you. I fucking warned you. She's not to go on the fucking stage. Ever. She can't even dance!"
"Look, I got requests, what was I supposed to do…"
"Tell them to fuck off, that's what! Jesus, what the hell do I pay you for?! When some asshole with a few bucks tells you what to do and you listen to them instead of me?"
Koga's head hung low but I didn't feel any pity in the slightest. "Sorry, Boss."
Inuyasha still had my hand in a death grip but he put his free one on Koga's shoulder. It was the kindest act I'd ever seen him do. "If anyone bothers you, you call me. Got it?"
I didn't get to see how Koga reacted, Inuyasha pulling us out into the night. He stopped, only to wrap his coat around me before shoving me into his car. The ride was silent until I could take it no longer. Anger was surging in me. Sure, he saved me but who asked him anyway?!
"I don't get you at all. You put me in a strip club to work but then get pissed because people want me to take off my clothes?"
"You're a server."
"IN A STRIP CLUB! What did you think was going to happen?!"
"I thought you'd do your fucking job!"
A dark laugh escaped my lips and Inuyasha turned to glare at me. "My fucking job? Interesting words coming from you. Considering you bought me to fuck you."
"I told you, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for that to …"
I wanted him to stop apologizing because it made the loss of my virginity a regret to him. I didn't regret it, I had enjoyed it until he opened his fat mouth! "It doesn't change a thing! Your apology doesn't change that night and it doesn't make my hymen magically grow back! And it doesn't change your complete lack of care for my feelings on the subject either!"
"Lack of care?!"
"I know I should be thankful...that things could be a lot worse…" I really tried not to, because I didn't want to give him my tears, but I couldn't stop them either. "But it's hard to feel anything but resentment when I went from being surrounded by angels all day to working for the devil."
I cut my sobs off after five escaped and Inuyasha listened to each one. It made me wonder if he got off on them until he spoke again. "The devil huh? That's how you see me?"
Nothing more was said even as we split off to our rooms. The devil going silently into his and I could honestly say for the first time that I hated someone. Cause I hated Inuyasha.
oOo
I half expected Inuyasha to show up at the club again the next day. But with him nowhere in sight two hours in, I considered him a no show and went about business as usual.
Sango was happy to see me, jumping up as soon as I entered the dressing room while everyone else seemed surprised to see me as well. "Oh man, last night was intense. You're okay, right?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Inuyasha is just...weird…"
"Weird? I thought it was hot as hell. I wish I had a boyfriend that protective. I was wondering why you were just a server all this time but now I get it…"
"Wait," I stopped her ramble with a gentle hand in her face, "that guy is not my boyfriend."
"Huh? Then who the hell is he? The way he dragged you out of here I thought for sure he made you quit…."
"What the hell do you mean, who is he? He's the boss!"
Sango's face and those eavesdropping around us twisted in confusion. "No, Koga's the boss."
I looked around, finding faces that agreed. "Wait...so when you said you auditioned for the boss…"
"Yeah, Koga. He made us all strip for him in his tiny little office. I was scared he'd do more but that was it."
I felt faint, my head getting light and my breaths feeling shallow. "But I thought… Inuyasha…."
"Kagome? Are you alright?"
Sango was holding me up off the floor and I gripped her shoulders tight. "Yeah, I just… need some air…"
If she didn't have her first set in five minutes, I was sure Sango would have gone with me. As it was, I wasn't sure I wanted the company anyway, following her finger to the back door of the dressing room.
It was freezing out, middle of January, and snow falling lightly from the black sky above. The cold helped my brain though, forcing the sticky feeling inside it to freeze so it would function.
So when Inuyasha said he was sorry...what had he said? He didn't mean to, that he lost control. Did he never intend to sleep with me? He was Koga's boss but not the boss of the other women? How did that make sense? It was if he had some kind of loyalty and he was actually showing it to me but I didn't understand or know how to take it.
Damn, now I hated him a little less.
"Hey."
So lost in thought, I missed the guy standing nearby, smoking. He took a step closer and I took a step back. It pushed me into the dark and him into the light. The bright red bulb at the end of his cigarette as he took a long drag and then tossed it. His features were sharp and dangerous looking, even with his long, wavy locks that softened his appearance. It was his eyes really, they were dull and lifeless and set on her.
"You're...Kagome right?" I really didn't like that he knew my name. "I'm a bit of a fan of yours. I'm Naraku."
He stuck out a hand but I refused to remove mine from their wrapped position around my chest. Naraku chuckled as he dropped the offer, digging in his pocket for something so I took another step back. A new cigarette and lighter in his hands, I still didn't relax, trying to slide towards the door. If he noticed, he said and did nothing as I grabbed a hold of the handle and pulled with all my might. But the door didn't budge.
"It's locked from the outside. Usually, the girls leave something to block the door but I guess they didn't tell you about that, did they?" he was grinning while my skin was trying to find a new home far from him. "Why don't you dance? You have a killer body and are so damn sexy. Does Inuyasha have a reason for not letting you? I must admit, it has me curious about your relationship to him."
"We don't have a relationship past employee and employer."
He shook his head, clucking his tongue at me. "Koga is your boss. Or...isn't he?" I fidgeted, looking for a way out. "Oh...I see… you belong to Inuyasha, don't you? Just what is your title then?"
My only choice was to walk around the building to the front, which I was about to do when the door popped open and Sango's head appeared. "Kagome? There you are! Sorry, I forgot to warn you about the lock…"
I was breezing past her, not worrying about the slip-up and Sango was glaring at Naraku. "If you ever want a change of pace, Kagome, let me know."
The door slammed heavily behind us and I couldn't be happier. Sango was still looking behind us as if Naraku had a key he forgot to mention. "You should stay away from that guy, Kagome. I'm not sure why he's even allowed near the building."
"Why do you say that?"
She looked back at me, her face pale. "Well...he snaked away a few of the girls that worked here a few years ago to work at his house or something. He promised them more pay and no stripping. But the last I heard he was sleeping with all of them and only some of them were willing."
I didn't bother hiding my disgust, nearly vomiting on the dark tile below us. Sango looked sick too. We were making our way back towards the front, Sango required to 'meet and greet' after her show and get tips. I was supposed to get tips too but I think they all went to Inuyasha or something. They could all go to the home for all I cared, I was loyal to the cause.
Naomi ran up to us as soon as we made it out of the hall and into the main floor. "Kagome, someone is here for you."
If it was Naraku again, I was just going to slug him and call over Koga. But it wasn't him. It was Mother Kaede.
And Naraku shows up, so you know there's going to be issues. Drama. Angsty drama. Weeeeeee...

Ma and Pa James's Second Biggest Fan (we plough a lonely furrow) continues to find Ma Jess's appeal mystifying, since everything about her is negative:
Tumblr media
1. Signing up for Team Rocket suggests someone of a morally dubious character to start with, but the truth lies in the clothing, and she's in black!
Black!
It's code for her personality:
• Jessie wears white:
Pure, beautiful, innocent, sweet-natured, not really bad, dealt a severe hand in life but a fighter.
• Cassidy wears black:
EVIL!!! EVIL, EVIL, EEEEEEVUL!!! FOUL SIRENIC TEMPTRESS!!! EVIL HEARTLESS BITCH STEALING JAMES'S NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN WEEPINBELL!!!
Speaking of which:
Tumblr media
2. She was Madame Boss's best agent.
You don't get there being kind.
To reach that standing requires hundreds of successful heists, and we aren't talking nicking gold bars. It's living things.
How many Pokémon do you imagine she stole with merciless efficiency?
How many children did she set upon, pinching every animal they had?
How many innocent lives did she ruin by depriving kids of the pets they loved, never to see them again, eaten away with the not-knowing and the false hope?
The glory of her reign ran on the fuel of blood and tears.
What fate do you envision awaited those Pokémon? It's not exchanging one master for another, it's entering slavery.
Jessie and James aren't the epitome of Team Rocket. They are minnows on the outskirts, despised and mocked by most of their fellow members. The actual group isn't particularly famous for prioritizing Pokémon welfare.
The preferable outcome is being handed out to agents to help catch other victims. Otherwise it's transformation into a war machine, forced to fight on and on to the point of exhaustion and death, no doubt tortured and tested on to boot.
What happens if they don't come up to scratch or are pushed for years until too aged and broken to be of any use? Are Team Rocket ready to pension them off to animal sanctuary?
As if. It's euthanasia or on to the streets to waste away, if not fed to the strongest first.
Ma Jess knew this and worse occurred thanks to her, yet paid it no mind, and felt not a single twinge of guilt in that time of service, then met her end trying to draw another Pokémon into imprisonment.
Some might say it was a case of what goes around, comes around. As her behaviour led to God knows how many Pokémon dying alone, leaving their loved ones to wonder and grieve, so in turn did she die alone in the snow, and Jessie had to carry on without her.
I'm not against Ma Jess, I neither feel like or dislike, but I don't understand how so many fans can happily overlook her murky past of inflicting pain, instead elevating her to a semi-divine tragic heroine, yet apparently Ma and Pa's heinous offences of not stealing and treating Pokémon well are beyond forgiveness.
Tumblr media
3. It's the Red Ribbon Army! Save yourselves!
Jessie joined Team Rocket to follow in Ma's footsteps. James went with her. Both moved (upwardly in scale, downwardly in morals) from Sunny Town's gang of petty thief kids to a complex Mafia organisation stretching its wriggling tentacles around the world to crush the air from its lungs.
Why? Ma Jess's baleful influence led the two down that path.
Of course Jessie wants to copy Ma, how and where else can she feel close to her?
There's not even a grave to visit!
Rising in the ranks and Giovanni's favour is both to strike it rich and take her place, becoming Ma in essence. That would make her proud, which is all Jessie ever wanted.
What alternative is there? Stay with Chopper and Tyra forever, ekeing an existence pickpocketing and shoplifting, until mortality comes calling sooner than is welcome, or get loaded quickly and retire early?
James theoretically could've gone home at this point, but when it came to which angry redhead he preferred to beat him up, he chose Jessie.
He was henceforth obliged to go whenever she led, even if it meant following the ghost of her mother into the jaws of evil.
They have an excuse, but what was Ma's for getting involved?
However much they boast and revel in their wickedness, the motto proves the couple still believe themselves on a noble quest, despite everything to the contrary, and why?
Jessie isn't about to accept that Ma Jess, whom she's probably idolized as one of few people to love her and a role model of how a woman should be, was nasty or unpleasant. If she was in Team Rocket, it must be good, whatever the outer appearance.
Except Jessie and James are bad at being bad. They are not master criminals. All their plans fail, rendering them poor and starving in consequence. The inner circle of Team Rocket will always be barred to them because they lack the inner darkness it requires.
The joke is they flourish in any other occupation, whether that be Salon Rocquet, reporters, or flogging merchandise and food at the League. If employed elsewhere they'd be better off, but they have to stay because Jessie can't let go, or bear the thought she might be a disappointment to her mother's name. A different career looks unworthy by comparison.
What, so Ma and Pa have got no son because of Ma Jess? They just wanted him to be a gentleman!
If she hadn't set such a terrible example to her daughter she might have an increased quality of life, but then had she done so Ma wouldn't be dead in the first place.
Tumblr media
4. Can't pick 'em can she?
What was it that first attracted Ma to Windy Miller? Does she go for the rustic charm, or the promise of a lifetime's supply of bread to feed the abundance of babies planned?
Don't do it, Ma! He's an alky!
Some birds are like that you see. It's the maternal instinct gone haywire. They find a local reprobate and somehow decide he's really a damaged soul crying out for love, the scapegoat of a cruel society.
He's not evil, he's just misunderstood!
This is why you get nutters wanting to marry the Yorkshire Ripper: they put his 'mischief' down to bad women mistreating his gentle heart, but they of course are devoted to his happiness. They can change him.
You don't know him like I do!
In their fantasy, under the influence of a 'proper' woman he'll transform in to a flower-picking hippie, but not too much, they still like him to be dangerously 'manly' (keeps 'em on their toes), then they can feel smugly superior and more truly female than the 'lesser' breed who failed to tame his sexy pashuns.
And if there's one thing Windy has in abundance, it's raw animal magnetism.
Stop it, Ma! You can't help those who don't want helping!
She put up with the boozing, the flour dust and his somewhat limited communication skills, but what really let him down was the company he kept.
Ever after she would insist Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble and Grub led him astray. That's firemen for yer.
Cuthbert? That name's died out.
Sure enough, some point after Ma Jess was stuffed up the spout, old Windy legged it back to Camberwick Green, like the rascal he is, and not a sweet penny piece did she receive in maintenance, the bastard.
At least Ma James got pregnant by a man who stood by her.
She wasn't married to Windy Miller!
Oh, you mean they were living over the brush? I see.
It's all in your head!
Do it my way, and we have Pa Jess. Do it yours, and we're back to a cavernous emptiness. Unless you can supply a picture of the 'real' (pffft) Pa Jess, this is the best available.
Anyway, 'Jessie Miller' just sounds right.
Coincidence? I think not.
Tumblr media
5. She went to look for Mew dressed like this.
I could forgive it had she gone in her normal uniform, that's just whimsy, but to have made some effort emphasises that it's not enough!
Some part of her understood a mountain might be a bit parky out, but this was deemed sufficient coverage!
What happened?
She bloody died didn't she?!
Tumblr media
6. Ma Boss points the way to doom.
Ma Jess was at least loyal to the mistress she served, but it was a wasted dedication. She squandered her life obeying a heartless virago who could cast aside apparently valued staff without a qualm, whatever thanks she owed them.
The millions Ma Jess accumulated for Madame are probably uncountable, yet she was so worthless that, when dispatched to the mountain, on her own, expected to catch a Legendary Pokémon, by herself, which many doubted even existed, and wasn't likely to come quietly, or put up with orders, but then didn't come back, Madame Boss allowed her only child to sink into poverty and the infamous 'care' of the State.
Everyone knows what goes on there. Entering a home has replaced the workhouse as the place of dread.
Jessie might have been killed or attacked and it didn't remotely concern Madame Boss, unwilling to spare a meagre fraction of her massive fortune to give the girl she made an orphan any comfort or security.
What did she matter? Her mother failed. Why reward that?
In her turn, Jessie became just as obsequious to an undeserving master, who went further than his mama and actively tried to murder her, and still she suffers to please him.
Team Rocket devoured her mother, and now it's swallowed her.
Oh, and Madame Boss got her way upon discovering Mew's fossil, so Ma Jess died for nothing.
Tumblr media
7. This.
I'm not surprised Mew wouldn't go with Ma. She probably sensed the vivisection awaiting, and didn't give a toss about the avalanche in revenge.
Mew hasn't got where she is today falling for any old shallow promises from a stranger, thank you.
Suppose the mission had worked, with Mew caught and gift wrapped for Madame's delectation: what then?
Perhaps Mew's power, proving so impressive, would've pushed any cloning scheme aside, leaving Mewtwo unborn and Mew as the mightiest weapon. Or in greed Madame Boss demands more, and in arrogance the scientists promise the earth, the seas and the heavens.
Mew I could see subjected to some non-lethal form of dissection, just to understand how she ticked, that is if they could build the cage to hold her.
As they couldn't, and catching Mew was never a possibility, then Ma Jess's sacrificed herself on a fool's errand, which was obviously one from the outset. If Mew was easy to handle she'd have been captured long before now.
Either Ma dies, Mew's safe, but Madame Boss starts the cloning scheme anyway, or Ma's victorious, Mew is a tool of Team Rocket and the scientists have more sample to experiment upon. Mewtwo is still made, alongside short-lived creations and dozens of unseen freakish abominations preceding.
Now Mewtwo isn't what you call at peace with himself, nor has he received a particularly wholesome experience. One could think Ma indirectly caused that. Her branch of the project may have fizzled to cinders but she still played her role.
What would her legacy have been but to help bring forth the being that wiped out mankind? Where's the future for Jessie when there isn't one?
It's not her fault, but she died in the name of cloning a biological disaster, the creation of synthetic life leading to the destruction of it all.
Tumblr media
8. Let's have a gander at Ma in the anime:
• Can afford rent.
• Can afford a tray.
• Can afford crockery.
• Can afford condiments to add flavour to food.
• Can't afford any actual food.
Something's wrong there.
I intended to include affording clothes too, but now I'm not so sure.
I never took Ma to be a brown-all-over kind of woman. At least she gave the fancy stuff to Jessie.
For years I've assumed she wore a brightly coloured jacket, but now I suspect it's a red one heavily patched up, because buying a replacement isn't an option.
Really old clothes are being mended with whatever can be salvaged from even more worn-out clobber.
Best agent Madame Boss has and she's practically living in her own filth.
Team Rocket takes care of its own, eh?
Oh no, let's not get a proper job, one that allows me to provide for my daughter and doesn't ask for my life. Let's stay in this one!
Tumblr media
9. Look at Jessie's face!
By her own admission, being tricked into eating snow is the best thing that ever happened to her during an 'otherwise wretched childhood', to the extent she doesn't know it was wrong!
I don't hear Ma and Pa doing that. The only ice James got was an ice-cream sandwich.
What kind of infancy did Ma Jess give the girl for her to be nostalgic about almost dying of malnutrition?
If we say that's a foster mother as in the sub, it means Jessie's fondest memory is after Ma died, which is too brutal for me.
Yeah, thank goodness she's snuffed it.
You think Ma might have taught her not to eat snow! She left her so ill-prepared!
Consequently the sub version makes Ma Jess an awful creature, although I don't see why that Jessie would so desire to mimic a mom she apparently doesn't care about.
Tumblr media
10. She's not even bloody here!
I have no picture to signify absence, therefore I must show whom she left behind.
Ma Jess is Pokémon's answer to Bobba Fett: background figure, barely involved, no information, dies early, yet became a fan favourite nevertheless.
If nothing really exists, what is there to like? Why are you contented weaving smoke?
When Rocketshippers put forward the manga as proof, the Anti-Ships used to insist that it 'didn't count' for being set in a 'separate universe'.
If that still goes, and only the contents of the anime apply to the anime, well then it's bye-bye to Ma Jess and Madame Boss, because they aren't real either.
I sometimes think that's true. However traumatic, would Jessie not have acknowledged her mother by now otherwise?
We grasp the characters all had two parents in a nebulous fashion, although not being real people means they don't 'technically' need them, but Ma Jess is the only one who vanished to be granted a face. Why is she then ignored?
She's briefly glimpsed in a passing scene of a single episode of the first series and is never seen or referenced again. The sub doesn't even have that. Where was the use in creating her if only to leave that thread of the tale billowing in the breeze?
We may decide her actions affect Jessie's but we're only imprinting assumptions. She might as well have remained unwritten for all that's made of her.
What we can glean doesn't bode well, irrespective of things left unmentioned.
Her one redeeming deed was dying, thus at least she didn't choose to abandon Jessie. We may presume she'd have stayed with her girl given the chance.
By my reckoning that puts her as Fifth-Best Mother Of Pokémon, behind Ma Brock, Ma James, Dame Ketchum and Ma Boss, in that order.
Then they're those who claim she never died, so she just pissed off like everyone else, rendering her devoid of a single positive quality.
This is the woman you sigh and agonise over for decades.
Ma and Pa are right there, man! Show 'em some love!

Girl of Glass
In a world where the people would be made of sticks and stones armed with steely knives and words that slither and stay,
She was made only of glass, covered in a thin layer of paper and tape.
See it held her together in a world where sticks and stones broke your souls, and our mouths were caverns that should have never been explored, but out to be silent in the black mist as they set fire and burn to ash our little paper walls, oh we could wish that our bodies were far humbler Halls, and instead of trauma and despair held love and a body still left untouched and not scared.
Because those steely knives, those rods of steel, they stay and play at night, where nobody will hear the tears. Because they pray and bite at your mind until you become numb or shattered and nothing but the hollow shell of someone who you used to know. Unknown to be true, can't seem to believe that the words "I love you" can be true.
Say "I'm fine" and laugh, but really your cracked, "I'm tired" and smile, though the real one hasn't shown in awhile.
In the end she was nothing but a frame to be used by paper mache, and a vase that knew way too much for her age.
And change and change and change she did, because no matter how she looked or acted or how things changed, she was so young, so her mind thinks that its the calm before the wave. Cuz if she got a little too happy the things that once held her fragile hands would be the same to scrape and scratch at her newly polished glass, and quiet she was, but her mind was too loud, filled with the blood they made her bleed out.
Because she was betrayed at a young age, thrown in the battlefield before she made it to the first grade, learned how to survive in a world where you need to know if someone was bullshitting you because that could be your life or your reputation.
Learned that sometimes men are immature, and women are not always to be trusted, that family can even lie and betray, oh the child's mind should have been left alone, didn't you know,
Children are supposed to believe in fairy tales...
Went back and forth from a home to a pit of nothing but agony and dispair, the homes were different, not just in acts but looks I swear any sane person would have seen right through it in a minute.
From a home where responsibility was key and the house was clean and mom had you surrounded by who you considered your real family and fun, to a house held by a father who didn't work nor pay bills, dove into alcohol and drugs, and lived in a pit of filth with his mother and father who seemed to condone it still.
A man who slept in nothing but boxers with his children, they were old enough to bathe on their own but father's mother couldn't get the picture. He seemed to not care about his daughter and more about his son, then contradict it all by calling him a after teaching him it was ok and fun.
We were only kids, but mistreated by him, so much so we don't remember most of the things he did.
It's been 6 years now, since they've last seen him. But still his picture would be a horrific thing to the victim.
From young the girl made of glass learned to thicken her core, she didn't want to feel like that anymore.
But the girl made of glass went through more than just that,
Their was a house fire that had her move far, to a place unknown,
Leave the ones she called friends and say goodbye, she moved to a new neighborhood and looked out the window as they arrived.
That was her second year of second grade.
The girl made of glass, found new friends in the third grade, though when things got ugly, they proved they weren't real anyway.
"your a girl you can't do that" staff told her when she wanted to play sports, not like she cared, she did way she wanted to, to stay happy and sane since she was still dealing with back and forth shit, and her father had a dog he beat with his cane.
Fourth grade was hard as she lost most of her friends, started pulling her hair out another coping mechanism, because distract and distract her mind she did, ignoring all her pain till she couldn't feel it. Was the last year she saw or heard from her father, that was good news at last.
Fifth grade came by, all the kids hated her, teachers too, but let's not go there. It's when she started to isolate and keep to herself, but boys loved her misery and dragged her into the boys bathroom, crying she was no longer unscratched glass on a shelf.
The first guy she liked played with her emotions to get what he wanted, said if she didn't touch him or let him touch her he'd leave her, truth be told he was the only actual white boy she knew, said he was from Texas had and older brother and a younger sister she adored, made quite the impression, though their relationship never went far. It was on and off and he even cheated on her with a guy, same one tried to screw her on the bus during senior trip, but lol she wasn't having it.
They called her "white chocolate" at school because for her ethnicity she was pale as paper with chocolate hair and eyes, She didn't know much but apparently you're not Hispanic if you can't speak Spanish.
The kids in the middle and high school that were also in the building tended to look over the stalls in the restroom and make fun of her, and the girl with glass afraid to use public restrooms after that.
The girl made of glass had long chocolate hair, that was until the fights were no longer fair. It was groups of girls that jumped her, and not only the girls, but then she cut her long hair short so she wouldn't be thrown against a brick wall again like a raggedy Ann. The fights still persisted, and she was the only one not winning and getting into trouble at the school.
She cried and cried and cried so many tears. "You only have to push it out for the rest of this year. Then it'll be a new school new you."
She held on to that till she made it out of 5th grade, little did she know 6th grade was almost close to the same.
But the boys were more "respectful" she could say, they all hated her and called her ugly and one beat her with a bat. But those hands she had were for healing and not for beating people so she couldn't even fight back.
Too many kids from elementary school were there, I guess you can say at least the kids kept it verbal for the most part. She told the staff but nothing was done, treated like a desease and they made fun of her and called her things like "ebola" or skinny freak" that's how she met her group of friends, who stood up for each other, I guess.
By 7th grade the whole ebola thing was off but she could still sense that nobody wanted anything to do with her so she kept to herself. She made herself busy, to forget her pain, she was in a band where she put her emotions and pain into the music, because it was her blood.
We aren't even going to talk about her relationships in this year. But there was I believe, one.
He was good for the most part but because of her past after she collapsed in the middle of the street he didn't help her and stood with his friends and laughed, she didn't want it anymore because the one to help her was her best friend.
Year 8. The year of the seniors. Let's just say it got so bad, police were involved, she dated her best friend but he broke her heart, dated someone else who she in turn broke their heart, and then dated another who left her for a friend. Though it's not like she blames them. She was starting to hate herself more in the end. She's stopped too many suicide attempts and was bullied on end, the school had to change her class and thing finally started to smooth out but she felt like the only one in a crowded room. She was loved by the teachers and the friends that stayed, but she was lost for her own self love.
She avoided going to the nurse because grades were everything. "Your worth nothing if you don't have anything to prove your worth" her mind taunted.
She was sent to guidence, but they are idiots because it's not like they could really help anything. she was way too good a faking till her mask came off at night.
Then one fateful evening, her father messages her and she feels like the breath was stolen from her lungs as flashes of periods she can't even remember went through her mind and she had to excuse herself to calm down and once she did she blocked him.
9th grade. She had only dated Hispanics up until this point minuses the non-binary pal she was with for a short period of time.
She makes new friends but is careful. Her mind doesn't believe that anything stays good for long.
She dated this boy who was a actor and dark skinned, like sweet caramel mixed with chocolate with light blue curly hair. He was a weeb, charming, nice. Though, he kind of smelled like blood and was just as cracked as her, if not more.
They said "I love you" but his was a lie. She was not only second girl but he also cheated on her and the first girl with a guy. And he bragged to her friends about the girls he saw when he was admitted to a mental hospital. When she gave up her time to visit him and show dedication but it just seemed like it didn't matter. Because he broke her heart the second time. He was her second time saying the words "I love you" and she ment it, the first was the best friend that she dated that she no longer spoke to.
It didn't matter she blamed herself for trusting him.
She then she met a new guy a couple months later. They couldn't see each other in person and the cronavirus pandemic happened so it's not like that made it any easier so they were on FaceTime a lot. He makes this girl of glass feel like her cracks and everything about her is good. He makes her feel normal, is patient and sweet. He's funny and smart. And looks at both sides of the story before jumping to any conclusions. And he was a healthy mix of immature and mature that made her smile and laugh and also taught her things.
So maybe, in a world where she was a girl made of glass, she was unique and she couldn't see it yet.

INFINITY
Summary: QUEEN AU where Rog (aka Rowan Queen) is young single dad struggling to make it into music industry.
Warnings: Fluff, Fluff, Fluff, and swearing.
Word Count: 1926
Okay so this is the closest picture I could find to Row's state in the next two chapters:
Chapter 2: PIPER
Row has a lot questions to ask himself, and he knows it's on only his own future at stake, but also The Prune's, who may be getting a name.
Of all the things Rowan Queen might have aspired to be, -a Rockstar, a Roger Taylor level drummer...- a 19 year old solo dad wasn't amongst them.
All he knew was that since he had first held that small Wrinkly being and her eyes had met his, she had stolen a part of him, and that the only way to feel completed again was being with her.
Ridiculously sappy, he knew.
"But that's what makes best parents" Callie, the nurse who had introduced them assured him one day when he confessed his thoughts out loud, while he watched her sponge bath the infant "Don't feel stupid, or embarrassed for feeling that way, Row. In fact, that's exactly how it should be. Always. And those fathers who deny it or fight that connection, end up estranged from their kids as they grow up. Take it from a daughter who hasn't seen her father in 5 years"
But, alas, there he was, living between his flat and the Hospital's newborn aisle, because he just couldn't get that one girl out his head, despite don't knowing how he had come to this.
"Well I haven't seen mine in 9"
"And that scares you, don't it?"
He gasped, and nodded slowly.
"Is better having no father figure at all than having a bad one. Just like I think your Prune is luckier having one brave dad than a coward mom"
"And two fit parents?" He asked, eyes flicking to the untouched pile of adoption papers
"Well that's the ideal situation, isn't it? But the weight always ends up relaying more on the mother, you know? The father always steps back, because society still thinks it's more acceptable for us women to raise the children because, of course, we have deeper connection with 'em for carrying them around for nine months and blah blah blah." She got the towel and handed it to him before laying the squirming 2 day old In his arms.
He carefully wrapped it around her and sat down so he wouldn't drop her, then started to stroke her soft delicate skin with the towel.
"But that's bullshit." Callie continued "That's an excuse you men came up with to sneak out from changing nappies. But I believe you guys are just as capable of taking care of children as us. And that you might be the ultimate proof of it." She gathered her hair in a ponytail, and smiled at father and daughter, as Row was now
leaning back on the rocking chair with the Prune, -as all the staff had begun to call her- laid on his bare chest.
"So forget whatever prejudices you have. This kid needs you, she doesn't know nothing about what's going on, she misses her little warm oven, the voice she was so used to hear and that she'll never hear again because that world has left her behind the first chance she got and she's very confused.
But also, She doesn't know about gender stereotypes, or that she's a girl. But she knows you're here. And her instincts tell her you're safety, and warmth, and love. Sure, I'm around a lot too, but soon you'll be discharged and everything she'll have will be you. A d then she'll grow up and will be forever grateful for everything you will have done for her"
The teen nodded, taking in all the words but remaining silent. Quiet moments like this -when she was calm and content- were quite meaningful.
"I just want the best for her. And I'm not sure I am"
"Well, from where I'm standing, you're pretty much up there. Nobody gets her to settle down as quickly as you do. That has to mean something, right? Newborns have this amazing instinct of detecting sources of love and protection. And you are hers. She trusts you: trust yourself"
Days went by, and Row found himself getting up early in order to go back to hospital. At home he was restless, as questions filled his head.
Was she better off with him?
Was he ready?
How could Callie be so much more sure about the whole thing than he was?
What if be wasn't good enough
What if mom was right?
Why did he want to become a dad in the first place?
Should he just sign those papers before it was too late and forget the whole thing?
The sixth day, he made his way to the hospital as usual, but something felt off. What it was? He couldn't put a finger on it, so he shrugged it off and entered the NICU area where she was.
"Hey, lovely one, look at you, a bit bigger each day" he cooed at his yet unnamed daughter, as he put his hand through the incubator hole to let her know his ore6 "So strong and so beautiful" he smiled brightly as her small hand closed around his finger.
"Yes, this way please" he heard a male voice and turned his eyes to see a doctor and a man and a woman who were probably in their thirties
"Oh my gosh she's so tiny!" The woman exclaimed, walking towards the glass
"Who are you?" Row asked, stepping defensively in front of her before she could reach the baby.
"You must be Rowan Queen?" The man held his hand out "We're the adopting couple..."
"What?" He basically slapped it away "No! Who told you she's in for adoption?"
"Mister, you signed the adoption papers" the Doctor said
"No I didn't!"
"Yes you did. Here" the doctor looked through the pile of papers on his hands and showed him.
He snatched the file from him. That was his signature but he didn't remember signing anything. He may have doubts about being a dad, but Callie was right, the little prune and him needed each other. They belonged together And he wasn't gonna give her away. The only way was through.
"There must be a mistake. She's not up for adoption"
"Err... Yes she is" the man said
"No she's not! I should know better than you, huh?"
"We've heard about the mother. So sad. But babies need their mommys, don't they?" The woman cooed from the other side of the incubator
"You can't take her" if looks could kill, Row would have murdered her right then and there.
"Mister..."
"No! He's my daughter!"
"Sir, signing this you gave up your parental rights"
"And what the hell does that even mean?"
"Legally, she's not yours anymore"
"But I don't remember signing anything!"
"But this is your signature"
"Yes. But I... I didn't mean it"
The woman scoffed "Well you clearly did."
"Mind your fucking business!" He snapped, before turning to the doctor "Look, I really don't know how my signature is there but I need you to... I don't know, forget it, okay?"
"Forget it?"
"Yes! Whatever that stupid paper says, I'm keeping her. And I will do everything you want me to"
"Sorry. There's nothing we can do about it now. You could take this to court but... It's a lost cause"
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"A 19 year old against a healthy, stable marriage?" He used the same arguments mom had
"But I'm her dad..." His voice quivered, as his baby started to cry.
"Don't worry sweetheart. Mommy and Daddy are here now" the woman said "Our Judy"
"Judy? What the fuck, you're not naming her Judy!"
"What we do with our daughter is our business, sir" the woman said "Now please, leave us alone"
"No! She's not Judy. She's my prune, I'm gonna prove to all of you fuckers wrong, because I can fucking do this if I want you. Not because I wanted to at first, or because I can't have my own kid like you; she's my own kid and she belongs with me. And I may not be a middle upper class, or drive a goddamn Mercedes, or have a huge house and a stable boring job at whatever office. And she may not have a goddamn mother, or her own room. So what? She has me. Because I'm the one who's been here for the whole bloody week worrying about her. Not you, not her mother. So fuck off and choose another kid!"
Two men who Row hadn't even seen arrive took him, as he fought and called his crying daughter "PIPER! PIPER! DADDY WILL GET YOU! I'M YOUR DAD, DON'T FORGET!"
Then he woke up with a jolt in that same hospital room, as his newborn baby awoke too beside him
He quickly sat up and leaned over to place a hand on her tummy, to check that she was real, letting out a sigh of relief when feeling her warm skin
It had been just a dream. Well, a nightmare rather than a dream. But she was there, safe next to him
"Hey, baby girl. Yes, hello darling. You had a good night? Gave trouble to the nurses?" he asked, stroking her torso "Are we hungry?" He offered his little finger, and she began to suck on it as response, which made him chuckle. "Alright, I'll call so they get us a bottle okay?"
3 minutes later, he was sitting on the green rocking chair, Baby Prune on his bare chest -because apparently skin to skin helped parents and kiddos bond or whatever- as he gave her the bottle.
He had to admit, ever since he had learned how to properly hold her, he looked forward to feeding, because he had grown to love these little moments, and by the end of them, be always felt closer and more in love with that tiny, wrinkled human being which he had helped make.
Who was a part of him somehow, and who he couldn't imagine his life without despite having only known her for 6 days.
She was so amazing. So mesmerizing. With her clear grey eyes and her peachy skin, and her adorable ears.
He just couldn't get his eyes off her.
"You're gonna come home with me in a couple days, and..." He realized he hadn't really thought about a plan. He had just moved out mom's, and the apartment was still empty. He'd have to start getting stuff. But anyway "... And we'll figure something out. I'm not gonna renounce to you. No ma'am. You've got me. And I've got you. And I'll look after you and make sure you're always happy and safe and... loved. I fucking love you so damn much and I don't even know how did this happen. I mean you're not even a week old and you've already turned my life upside down just by bloody existing. You can't even understand what I'm saying. But here I am, making all this plans and Shit... I, who never thinks ahead, who never knows his future beyond what meal he's gonna get. But I... Damn. Do you babies have like special powers or something? Do you like... Is it a defensive instinct? Like you manage to make us go nuts about you by casting a spell it whatever so we'll stay enchanted? Because this is fucking ridiculous."
She finished the bottle and he put it aside.
"Speaking about plans, we can't keep calling you Baby Prune. We're gonna have to choose a name. A pretty unique gorgeous name for a special, perfect little princess like you. So, let's see" he changed his hold on her so they were face to face. Something the nurses had called.. ? He wasn't really sure but he had got hand on it "Yes, hello" he smiled helplessly at the sight of her "Baby girl. Baby girl" he cooed absentmindedly as he analysed her features
Then he remembered his dream. He had called her Piper. He wasn't even sure if he had heard that name before but he liked it. It was original, cool, rare enough people would associate it with her but not awful, like other names he had heard.
"Piper" he whispered, tasting the word while contemplating her face. It sounded good to him. "Piper Queen" he said, a bit louder this time as her tiny hand closed around a strand of his blonde hair. "You like that? Piper?"
She just blinked, but he interpreted it as an affirmative answer
"It's settled, then. Piper. Pips for short." He smiled, and brought her back to his bare chest so he could lull her back to sleep with his rambling, which had worked the previous times.
"My Piper" he kissed her head and began to rub her back "I'm so scared honestly. I won't lie to ya, I have no idea what I'm doing but you can rely on me. I'm good at improvising so I'll figure it out. Don't worry. But you gotta take it easy, hm? If you have a bit of patience, it'll be just fine. And about this?" He reached for the papers -which were unsigned- and ripped them off "Fuck it. Just fuck it."

Jungkook part 4
Tumblr media
“Look at you miss pretty young thing.” Meg muses making angel smile before she puts her coat on. The hallways are cold especially coming from gryffindor tower. “Seriously you look like a model.” Meg whines a bit and angel shakes her head at her.
“Stop.” She says looking herself over in the mirror.
“If my date leaves me for you I'm gonna be so mad.” Meg muses before they leave to go to the ball, dance, thing.
Harry is shocked when he sees angel coming down the stairs and so is Hermione who had suspected she wouldn't want to come.
“Stop staring.” She says after a while and Harry can tell she has a bit of a blush on her pale cheeks.
When they get to the great Hall it's bigger and decorated with twinkly lights and candles everywhere.
“Coat off.” Meg says handing her coat to a staff who hands her a number which she slips in her dress pocket. Angel takes off her coat handing it to the man who hands her a number too. “And I'll take that.” Meg muses putting it in her dress pocket. “I'll give it back when you've at least spent an hour here.” She says and angel laughs before they walked off through the maze of seating, food, and drinks.
“What if she doesn't come?” Jungkook asks sadly and taehyung laughs. “I can't smell her with all the perfume.” He whines and the man in front of him pats him on the shoulder.
“I'm sure if she doesn't come you will see her again.” He says and jungkook nods like he is trying to agree but he is still thinking about it.
Jungkook sighs looking around at the other girls trying to find her. When he does she is standing by one of the drink tables with her friend who gave him the plate of food when she was sick.
“She's beautiful.” Jungkook says making his hyungs who decided they should try and stick together for the night. As wolves their senses are heightened and so when they get turned on in any way they can get a little wild so seokjin thought it would be better if they at least kept within eyesight just in case someone gets carried away another could stop them.
“Girls are allowed to wear that to a dance?” Seokjin asks shocked at the bead work and how it is a bit provocative.
“Hands off.” Jungkook growls and seokjin takes a step back.
“I wasn't going to go near her.” He states shocked at the man's words and jungkook takes a deep breath in controlling himself.
“Wait until her friend is done spending time with her.” Taehyung says and jungkook sighs noding and he turns away trying to control the wolf part of him that just wants her to be his already.
“Okay get a few drinks in you and sit sexily and someone will ask you to dance.” Meg says handing her a drink and angel looks at her for a moment. “Trust me, you want to drink at these things, someone always tries to ruin it.” She says and angel starts drinking. She didn't want anyone to ruin her first dance. “And a tip, if you make out with someone make sure it doesn't go to far. Boys are like dogs, they like to play fetch and if you give it to them completely they will get bored.” She explains and angel nods her head taking in her friends advice. She isn't normally around boys in general and she would try to stay out of parties and dances if the girls were allowed to go.
Meg gives her three drinks before she feels comfortable to leave her alone.
“Now sit like you're ready to be screwed.” Meg says and angel is confused and a little offended. “Okay sit.” She says and angel sits down and Meg adjusts her from there. “I better get some really good smutty details from tonight.” Meg says before she leaves her to go and dance with her date.
Angel stays in the position for a while before kylie sits down next to her and sighs.
“All the cute boys are dancing.” She Huff's and angel laughs. Angel half heartily listens to the girl noding her head when she needed to until a man walks up.
“Dance with me love.” He says and Kylie looks at angel who has always been the more popular one and the boy laughs. “Not the weird one you in the pink dress silly.” He says and Kylie gets up and waves bye to angel making her sigh, she definitely wasn't drunk enough for this.
“dance?” A man says after stepping in front if her. When she looked up jungkook stood there with his hand out. She looks at him for a while before he raises an eyebrow. “You no like dance?” He asks awkwardly with a smile and she just downs her drink.
“I do.” She says softly and he smiles wider when she takes his hand. For some reason, she guessed it was the alcohol, the way his hand feels on hers is like heaven. Maybe because she really isn't used to being touched.
He takes her to the dance floor right in front of Kylie and the guy who offended her. Maybe it was just jungkook wanting everyone to see that shes perfect or because he wanted to prove that she is better than the girl he chose.
He places the hand he was holding onto his shoulder and put his hand on her waist grabbing her other hand and holding it as he starts to sway. He unconsciously pulls her closer as he looks down at her, loving the slight pink tint in her cheeks.
“You, very, beautiful.” He says laughing at his awkwardness and she smiles looking down before jungkook lifted up her chin with his fingers. He notices her skin start to glow a bit more pale. “Beautiful.” He says smoothing her cheek a bit before placing his hand back on her waist.
When she smiles it was like the whole room lightened up a few notches.
“Your English is getting better.” She says softly after a while and he smiles.
“I understand, but can not talk yet.” He says and she smiles at his awkwardness way of speaking.
“Did you learn dance?” He asks and she nods, Meg dragged her to the lesson since a lot of girls went with the hopes one of the boys would pick them, and he smiles. “Hyungs and I singing. I want you as dance partner.” He says and she looked a bit worried. “I don't want to dance with anyone else.” He struggles making a complete statement and she smiles.
“Don't let me fall.” She says and he laughs smiling down at her.
“Never.” He says and she smiles.
“Kookie.” Jimin muses placing a mic on the man and an earpiece so he can hear the music better. “Good luck.” He muses and pats the man on the shoulder making him laugh.
People clear the floor as the music starts.
Jungkook starts singing first and she has never heard the man sing before though she knows he's rather famous especially amongst the girls.
He leads her though the steps easily, when he needs to lift her he does so without even struggling.
She was shocked at how good he was. And the fact he didn't stop looking at her the whole dance made her breathless. She hasn't had a member of the opposite sex pay this much attention to her other than her older brother.
He noticed the more she smiled the brighter her skin seemed. He wanted this to go in forever if he could.
“I'll be back.” Jungkook says kissing her cheek before leading her back to the outline of the crowd and the other boys do too.
She's left standing in front if Meg who hid that her date was taehyung until the last minute.
“Told you you needed that class.” She muses and angel shakes her head at Meg for her dirty planning.
She heard whining behind her about how lucky she was and she laughs and shakes her head.
After the second song jungkook pretty much throws the things he needed for performance at their manager before fast walking towards angel.
“Jungkook!” A girl screams right next to angels ear before jungkook ushers her out of the hall and hides the both if them when girls follow him.
“We go to the same school and they still chase me.” Jungkook sighs in Korean sighing in relief when he sees that they are gone. “Sorry.” He sighs and she smiles looking at him.
“I was scared you would get tackled.” She muses and he laughs a bit and nods.
“I want you by myself.” He says and she raises an eyebrow at him and he laughs nervously and a bit embarrassed at the look. “Too many smell.” He says and she laughs almost forgetting what he was.
He pulls her into a hug she wasn't expecting.
“I'm sorry.” He sighs holding her tighter. She was confused until she remembers that he witnessed not only her glowing skin but the curse and her scars. She isn't sure which part he is sorry about but she hugs him back.
“It's not your fault.” She says sadly and he places his chin over her head.
“Are we just going to stand here and keep hugging?” She muses and he raises an eyebrow backing up just enough to look down at her.
“What do you want?” He asks with a smile and she blushes before looking away and mumbling a nothing awkwardly. He takes a sharp breath in before he backs her against the wall making her look up at him. He leans down and presses his lips against hers making her grip onto his blazer.
He whimpers pressing a bit harder against her and gripping onto the wall.
When he pulls away they both are breathing heavily.
“Jungkook.” Seokjin starts before jungkook sighs and when he looks at the older man seokjin takes a step back before jungkook composes himself.
“We go back now.” He says and offers her his arm and she smiles before taking it and walking back with him.
They dance more and when they go to sit down for a much needed rest girls kept coming up to him to flirt and angel just focused more on drinking watching Meg and taehyung making out across the room. She gets up and jungkook watches her as she goes over interrupting taehyung and Meg's make out.
“Number.” She says and Meg sighs before giving her a number. “If it's your jacket I'm still wearing it.” She says walking away and tugging on jungkook's sleeve making him look up at her. She shows him her number and he smiles.
“Excuse me.” Jungkook says to the girl before standing up and buttoning his suit jacket. He walks over with her and hands the man their numbers and he gives them their coats before they walk out and jungkook keeps looking over his shoulder.
“Are you expecting someone?” She muses and he looks at her surprised as they climb some stairs. He shakes his head and smiles following her up the stairs before taking the lead himself with her hand in his.
He leads her up to the tower afraid to go further.
“Have you ever been in one of the dorms?” She asks and he shakes his head.
She smiles and grabs his hand tighter and motions for him to follow her and he smiles nervously.
“You're back early…” Harry starts before he sees jungkook and ginny giggles.
Jungkook is shocked at the coolness of the room and follows her up some winding stairs where two hallways sit and she motions for him to follow.
She leads him down a rather long hallway making him confused as it isn't a big tower.
“Undetectable extension charm.” She says and he nods before she opens a door showing him a room and there is an open door after it.
She laughs as he stands at the door as she walks into the room and taking off her coat and placing it in her wardrobe.
“Come in.” She laughs when he is still standing there. He takes in a deep breath before coming into the room following her to the back of the room where her bed was.
“Should I be in here?” He asks looking around the room and she laughs a little.
“If we didn't leave early Meg would have locked the door so her and your friend could have sex on my bed.” She sighs and he bursts out laughing at her bluntness. “Hopefully they will use his bed seeing us here.” She muses and sits down next to jungkook who just smiles over at her.
“Seokjin hyung won't let him.” He says honestly and she looks at him for a while. His eyes widen and his mouth falls open as he tries to form words.
“Pack stick together.” He says and she is raising an eyebrow.
“But he didn't stop you coming with me.” She says and jungkook is a bit surprised at her words, having forgotten he followed her all the way to her room. He laughs nervously looking around the room nodding.
“I'm Alfa.” He says and she looks at him for a while confused.
“But you're the youngest.” She says and he laughs.
“Alfa is my father.” He says and she nods a bit kind if still confused.
“You my mate.” He says softly and she almost doesn't hear it and he is terrified that she will reject him knowing taehyung said he should take it slow and get her to like him. He gets worried when she looks away. He turns her face to him.
“Are you scared of me?” He asks and she can see the pain in his eyes.
She carefully touches his face lightly. His eyes close before they open again, and this time they are red. He can hear her heart beating faster in the quiet of the room. She shakes her head slightly as her hand travels down his neck down to his button up shirt and he loses it pressing his lips down in hers.
The dress she's wearing is made by Pablo Sebastian I think and it's a slim fitted beaded dress that I guess you can look up unless I can find a picture that I can figure out how to post because it isn't downloading on my phone as a picture it's just a download it's hard to explain. I don't know if I'm going to be posting any more of it it depends on how much you like it....start with Draco part one and finish to part four then yixings parts then jungkooks cuz if you read it out of order it's going to be confusing for you

SPIRITED AWAY REVIEW PTII (Sorry I am late it has been a while hasn't it?)
The focus is mainly going to be on Haku. Not all of this is mine, I got a lot of inspiration/ideas from a fanfiction written by someone called moviefan-92. It is absolutely wonderful and I absolutely recommend you give it a read. I shall leave a link below. As always a quick *warning of spoilers*.
From the start Haku is a bit of a mystery. He appears seemingly out of nowhere and disappears as fast. Warning Chihiro to leave immediately (which I always thought of as a bit rude but I can understand why).
He then goes on to protect Chihiro, bring her to the bath house to get work, find her clothes from the Human World, secure her identity (and so her freedom), allow her to see her parents, make a deal to break her contract, retrieve her from Zeniba’s and allow her to leave to go home with a final piece of advice to secure her safety through the tunnel to her world. Phew! Not bad for a two hundred odd Dragon-boy spirit.
Anyways we get very varied sides of Haku. Not all of them are good. He is either cold and distant, or warm and friendly. Some of the spirits even warn Chihiro to stay clear of him. So why doesn’t Chihiro? And how does she/he fall in love with him/her?
Okay yes, if you met a (cute) boy about your age *(well looks anyway) who frees you from a spell that cripples your legs and feeds you to protect you from dying and allows you to see your parents-well you might be a little bit grateful. But that doesn’t explain how she fell in love with him. *I am just going to assume that since he looks ten he acts and feels and behaves like a ten year old-not including his magic and knowledge attained over the past century or so.
We would have to assume that before Haku left for Yubaba he kept visiting Chihiro to take her to see her parents as he warned her to ‘never come here without me’. How else could Chihiro remember what her parents looked like to know for certain the pigs Yubaba sets before her are a fake? I don’t know about you but I would not be able to distinguish my parents as pigs after only seeing them very briefly twice!
With this in mind this off screen interaction must account for Chihiro suddenly being in love with Haku. We see her with him 6 times (roughly) Amazingly though Miyazaki gives us enough hints on screen for us to realize Chihiro cares for Haku. So when she breaks the curse from the Golden Seal on him it is not a complete surprise.
Alone, she goes on to dream about him, recalling the moment she fell into a river as a young toddler. When he assigns her to her room he acts cold and distant from her-here is the only time we see Chihiro openly hurt and confused by him. Of course we as a viewer understand that if he showed any kind of kindness towards her he would cause suspicion.
This cold attitude however is important. It shows who Haku has been and behaved like for decades to the other staff. Kamaji (the boiler man) later explains that when Haku first came over to the bath house he was good but by becoming Yubaba’s apprentice he became cold and his eyes hardened; he was never the same again. Chihiro sees this part of Haku but forgives him because she knows what he has done for her already. The only other time he is distant towards Chihiro, is when he is left to bleed out from his injuries. He snarls at Chihiro and Kamaji warns her to be careful as he is a ten foot, very sore dragon at this point. But I would argue he wasn’t angry at Chihiro, we as a viewer can recognize that he may just be a little bit embarrassed that Chihiro is seeing him like this. Even though she knows he is a Dragon-he might not they might never have discussed it. He might be worried she might be scared of him looking like that? And to be hurt at all, when he has appeared as nothing but strong and powerful in front of her in the past.
The gentle side of Haku. Although curt with her at the start, he did save her life. He is extra cautious and gentle when he finds her and encourages her to eat the berries to live. After being cruel to her in front of the other workers, he makes it up to her by taking her to see her parents. He gives her-her name back and comforts her as she cries. All the time speaking in a gentle tone.
The sweet side of Haku. Haku admits he knows her real name even though she never told him. At this point we/he does not know why this is. But already we can tell that simply knowing her name is enough. Subconsciously his mind has made the connection and this secret-this truth prompts him to be good. It is a reminder of whom he once was-a good and kind Spirit. Chihiro prompts him to recall his former self back to the surface. Feeding his former strength to fight Yubaba’s spell over him. For this he can’t help but protect her like he once did long ago. As for Chihiro. She is ten (and if you read my first review on her) a bratty little girl who has never known true love. She is presented with a boy who not only saves her but continuously protects her from harm-pushing for her to return home with her parents. Who else offers her a way out? (Except Kamaji who gives her tickets to see Zeniba but that is still within the realm of the Spirit World). Granted he is a little pushy, but he is continuously saving her and protecting her. This goes against every negative thing all the other Spirits have said. Haku feels comfortable enough to show who he truly is and Chihiro recognizes that.
The Lake Spirit helps Chihiro to understand Haku’s predicament further. Here she is confronted with a similar type of Water Spirit who is polluted from the waste humans dumped in his lake over many years. So much so, that he is visibly ugly and off putting i.e. a ‘Stink’ Spirit. Haku is the same- only it is on the inside. The control bug Yubaba has put inside him, and his true name she stole from him, have caused him to become hard and bitter. Being surrounded by like-minded spirits who we learn are filled with greed and gluttony is enough to make anyone crazy-take No Face for instance! By saving the Lake Spirit Chihiro realizes she has the potential to save Haku. -repaying him for his kindness towards her. She just has to find a way to expel all that ‘dirt’ that is inside of him. Selfless side of Haku. Even when close to death Haku slowed Chihiro’s decent so they could land (albeit a little bumpily) into Kamaji’s stock room. Innocent side of Haku. I love the fact that Haku struggles to take the medicine and like Chihiro is horrified by how disgusting the medicine tastes. It shows a level of childishness and innocence we have seen before. For once Chihiro gets to boss Haku around for his own good!
With that two things emerge. 1 the controlling bug (similar to a peeping bug in Howl’s Moving Castle) that forced Haku to do Yubaba’s bidding. 2 the Golden Seal Haku had taken from Zeniba. Kamajii admits Haku should be dead due to how powerful the curse protecting the seal is- that only True Love could have saved him. This is the moment we have confirmation of Chihiro’s love for Haku. Without us really knowing it Miyazaki has fed us small snippets into Chihiro’s thoughts and feelings over Haku that had helped us accept this idea without much complaint. So of course we aren’t as surprised by this revelation. But what about Haku? Does he love Chihiro? Do two people have to love each other in order for the curse to break or was it just Chihiro’s love for Haku? After all that has happened I would say it took both of them. Haku has being looking out for Chihiro from the beginning-he doesn’t know why but he has. Chihiro does the same for him. Not just to repay him but because she genuinely cares about hi. Running onto pipes on the sides of buildings and nearly falling to her death caring for him. If that isn’t Love, I don’t what it is.
But it occurs to me as I write this review as to what KIND of love are we talking about here? Chihiro is still just a child (I would assume the same for Haku as discussed earlier), I doubt she would be feeling the romantic, sometimes lusty-energetic kind of love you experience as an adult so what is it? It is not sibling love either-that is clear enough too. No it is just love in its purest form. This is the one thing I love about Mr. Miyazaki the most. His talent to convey a child’s love-a sweetheart’s love that has none of the complications an adults love has.
Haku saved Chihiro’s life, he was her closest companion (other than Lin and Kamajii) who was remotely close to her age-he was her friend. And Chihiro loved him for it. Having to be so hard and strict to stay in charge, it is clear Haku doesn’t have much friends-or maybe none except Kamaji. So clearly being friends with Chihiro would be a big deal for him too. We saw at the beginning of the film that Chihiro is very good at making strongly bonded friendships-so much so she was even given a bouquet of flowers to say goodbye! Haku is just another example of a what a strong friendship with Chihiro looks like when put into action. Even Lin and Kamaji are devoted to her. Chihiro simply has a way about her that causes you to love her and Haku is no exception. So yes I think he is a good friend but I don’t believe she/he loves him/her “just as a friend”. -No Face is ‘just a friend’. They both have a deep regard and affection for each other that I believe stems from their first encounter- the day they first met when she was younger in the Human World. That event caused a bond to form between the two of them that was personal. Her presence has merely rekindled that bond and allowed it to grow into something deeper and pure.
The I am in love with you side of Haku (by far the sweetest side). Haku awakens. Recalling how he heard her voice calling him back from the brink of death. He goes to his boss Zeniba, reveals her son his missing and stands his ground against her at the peak of her fury. And finally, forces her to redraw Chihiro’s contract. He then goes to Chihiro. As Chihiro throws herself at him he accepts her embrace in return, completely comfortable for her to see him in his Dragon form. As they fly through the air-on his back, Chihiro is taken back again to the time when she fell in the river and this time she recalls it clearly. Haku saved her life when she was just a young girl. Instead of allowing her to drown Haku personally disengaged from his river-in his Dragon form and carried her to shore. But recalling this allowed to Haku, she shouts out his full name and Haku finally remembers. He is so startled he transforms back into a human and behaves more excited and happy then we have ever seen him before, clenching hands with Chihiro with tears in both their eyes in happiness. (Ugh I cry every time I see that part).
What is it about their relationship that makes it not just friendship? It’s her asking for him, it’s them embracing, saving each other’s lives time and time again etc. taking soul-mates to a whole new level! Because that is what they are. Haku (a soul) and Chihiro (his mate) where destined for each other. For Haku, Chihiro was his humanity of sorts-her presence reminded him that he does not mind Humans-and would do anything to protect one in particular. - Unlike many other Spirits like Zeniba, who believe spirits to be ‘smelly’ creatures. But since Haku has been around similar thinking Spirits for so long, it was hard not to be affected by their negative thoughts and behavior for a while. However, if he can reveal himself to a human (which is forbidden) and save the life of a child, and continue to protect her when she is older-then he is not a bad person/spirit. Chihiro saw this in him from the start and never doubted him. She even admits to him that she knew he ‘were good’ from the start.
By the end of the film Haku has proven to us that he is not a one dimensional character. Like all people he is a 'diamond in the rough’ with multiple facets of emotions that make him who is and a great, good guy. He is: reserved, courageous, protective, caring and kind. He is as smart as he is powerful-all driven by his love for Chihiro, his sweet heart, his friend, his soul-mate.
The film ends in the Spirit World how it began-Haku and Chihiro on the bridge with a final farewell and a promise-a promise to see each other again. And why not? After all they have met each other twice now-in two very separate Worlds-so why not for a third? Although this has yet to be proven by Miyazaki (annoyingly enough) many have given their thoughts and views on how Chihiro and Haku met again.
There is ALOT of beautiful fanfiction-some drawings, paintings etc. and some stories. Which leads me onto the fanfiction I have recommended prior to this review. Movie-fan92 has written a stunning fanfiction about how Chihiro could have met Haku again- another 10 years down the line. It is a very beautiful piece I am sure even Mr. Miyazaki would love! I personally feel it captures Chihiro and many of the other character’s characteristics well. I would definitely give it a read.
On a personal note I believe it is plausible Chihiro could have met Haku in her world. He could have found his river, found where it opens back onto level ground/air and flown to where she may be etc. Or she could have been waiting at an opening at his river etc. They could have lived a full life together and moved on to the Spirit World together etc. The less sweet version of course is that Chihiro dies and becomes a Spirit but this is where I prefer Movie-fan92’s version Chihiro returns to the Spirit World, still human but still very much in love with Haku, and this time she plans on staying…
Anyway I hope you liked this review and let me know what you think- Did Mr. Miyazaki convey their love well? Was it obvious? Do you believe Chihiro and Haku could ever meet again? If so how? Here is the link, seriously, enjoy. https://m.fanfiction.net/s/3261432/1/Spirited-Away-2-Return-to-the-Spirit-World:
