so nico and blake had met before obviously, but they never really hung out because they were both super busy with their own sports. but with blake injuries, jack and nico go over to her apartment a lot to check up on her and thats where they get super close
SO! here are some things that made them realize they liked the other person:
blake:
whenever her phone rang or buzzed, her first thought always went to nico and hoping that he was the reason behind her notifs
when jack would come over to her apartment and she'd catch herself being disappointed when nico didn't come with him
nicos brown puppy dog eyes. once hes talking to her, literally sitting like a foot or two away from her, and shes just completely mesmerized. she doesn't realize he stopped talking and once she catches on shes like "did i really just sit here with my cheek resting on my palm mesmerized by this man..."
when she was scrolling through the njd merch website to buy something to wear to one of jacks upcoming games and she decides to impulsively buy nicos jersey (she doesn't admit that she's bought it tho she keeps it in her closet and periodically pulls it out to stare at)
she starts giggling and blushing whenever hes talking to her even if what he said isn't funny
when she downloads duolingo to try and learn some swiss german after one too many glasses of wine tho is when she realizes she truly has a problem and that she fr likes him
nico:
when hes cooking himself dinner at night and he immediately thinks of making enough for blake and bringing it over to her apartment. hes like "well... i know shes upset right now so..." and so he doubles whatever recipe hes making
when jack tells him that blakes starting to feel better and that nico doesnt have to come with him to her apartment anymore and nicos first thought is ... "but i want to see blake"
when theyre out one night with the rest of the team and the boys keep urging him to go talk to this girl who's staring at him but he refuses because "why would i leave blake to talk to these idiots without me"
when hes hanging out with friends and blake calls and so he's immediately excusing himself from the room so he can hear her properly
he remembers all the little things like her coffee orders, favourite songs, snacks, etc... all saved into his notes app "just in case she needs something"
when jack comes over to nicos apartment to hang out and nico distractedly asked where blake was... (gagged jack bad)
nico watching a whole season of a tv show on a plane ride just because blake mentioned that she liked it
overhearing jack asking blake when she was gonna get a bf... his heart started beating fr hoping that she had no prospects (aside from him ofc) when this happens he reevaluates and is like... "okay maybe i'm not doing all of this because i think of her as just a friend.." and then he goes down that spiral of "if its morally wrong to date my teammate / bromance twins sister"

my collected thoughts on the magic system of harry potter and what I would change to make it better.
i think that the harry potter magic system sucks!!
i mean, im sure this isnt a hot take but like...how is it that students at hogwarts school of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY graduate knowing how to use maybe a handfull of spells in combat? and they're the same spells that all the aurors and all the older members of the order and all the death eaters and even voldemort use?
and im especially talking about how weak it makes people who are supposed to be really powerful and dangerous seem. including the titular character Harry Potter himself. Harry uses spells in a unique way, dont get me wrong, but to me its all just so boring.
and im not saying it doesnt have to work like other fantasy stories, but if the main mechanism behind magic in harry potter is that you are either born with it or not, you dont need a wand but its exponentially more challenging without one (unless you have a unique skillset or education), intention matters, and there are spells that can grant magical abilities to objects. there is so much more possibility than just expelliarmus and expecto patronum. There has to be, or else why tf would hogwarts take 7 years of schooling to graduate from?
so here are some of my headcanons:
families have bloodline abilities
so, in the case of wizarding britan, there are families that want to stay pure such as the sacred 28 (or is it 27 i cant remember), and pure as in their blood and bloodline must stay pure (going so far as to marry your cousins, e.g. Orion and Walburga Black). If this is the case, and they wan't to preserve their magical bloodline so bad, they'd have to have something more than just "magic" to preserve.
I feel like its almost there in canon but falls short of being fully realized. I think of it kinda like how it works in naruto. Theres those who have a bloodline ability and then those that dont. You dont have to have one to be powerful, if you have one it dosent mean you will be powerful automatically.
The black family seems to carry the gene for metamorphmagus, but i wouldnt consder this a bloodline ability and think of it more like a random mutation passed on to teddy, which could occur in any magical person, (theres also the possibility that this was a more common ability in the black family but because of the lack of genetic diversity and inbreeding it was lost until Andromeda had Remadora with Ted, who was not pureblood. I think abilities have to do with the energy of magic that is either created or inherited, not so much genetics. Therefore, families dont pass on the same exact ability but something that is novel or slightly different from person to person.
The Lupins, for example, could be Beast Speakers. Maybe, a long time ago in the Lupin familiy, they kept wolves or something (explaining the surname which would have had something to do with occupation) and they learned from them how to speak with animals?Lyall, who canonically worked in the Department for the Control and Regulation of Dark Creatures, can speak to dark creatures, even werewolves who are transformed. Remus can speak to domesticated animals like cats and dogs, fancy mice, toads, etc. Remus is like Hogwarts' unofficial vet tech, and if you like atyd Remus, this fits in nicely as he specialized in Care of Magical Creatures.
The Potters, canonically, are linked to the Peverell family. The invisibility cloak has been passed down through generations and is still being passed down to Harry's children. I think a common headcanon, and one that i truly love, is that they use Death Magic. But, thats assuming the potters are the exact same family as the Peverells, which they are not. I think, in going along with the Peverell brothers creating the deathly hallows (using advanced death magic), the potters have a Sorcerer's Craft ability. What was the Potter family's source of new money? Fleamont's invention, Sleekeazey's. I know its a "potion", but what if its just like...coconut oil imbued with magical enchantments that make your hair perfect. James could have played a major hand in the creation of the Marauder's Map, an Extremely powerful magical object made to do the impossible task of mapping Hogwarts. And he did this in school. at like 14-15. Harry doesn't do anything that has to do with magic item creation, that I can remember (i haven't read the books in years), however he also had no connection to his family and likely wouldn't be able to learn without another Potter teaching him. BUT! Harry Potter is the master of death, meaning he can use all 3 of the deathly hallows without being corrupted, maybe this could be a side effect of how his Sorcerer's Craft manifests itself.
side tangent, but the reason I think this is an ability even though others have been known to make magical objects, is because the potters are able to do it very creatively, and early on in their lives. They are involved in every aspect of item creation, and they can enchant things in a way no other wizard could replicate, meaning their objects could not be mass produced without their explicit involvement. Maybe Sleekeasy's stops working so well once Fleamont dies, hence why Hermione says its too much hassle to use every day.
The Blacks, you might think, would be something to do with offensive, powerful, and deadly magic. While, yes, this is something that some members of the black family are gifted in, it is not their bloodline ability. I think that the Blacks are Seers. It's no coincidence their families long standing tradition of astrological names are prophetical for their lives. Walburga Black, for example, has the power of Augery. She asks the universe questions and receives omens as answers. She saw a black dog when asking the universe to tell her about her newborn son, hence the name Sirius. For Regulus, well, she saw water. Not knowing what to make of it, she refused to let Regulus near it for his entire childhood. Regulus, as an empath, has the ability of psychometry. The ability to gain information from an object by touching it, including humans ( he cant read minds, but can tell what someone has experienced in their life). This comes in great handiness when he goes to destroy the locket. Sirius, I believe, would have a mastery over tarot cards or oracle cards. He can glean deadly accurate readings, and has a keen ability to interpret meanings unknown to even the most practiced tarot readers. He has a special deck, one that his uncle Alphard gave to him when he found out Sirius could read tarot from Walburga (who, at the time, was very pleased with her Heir's ability). This comes with an emotional expense to Sirius, though, and at times, gives him answers he doesnt want to hear. The girls loved it though, and asked him to teach them. He tried but couldn't explain how he did it, since it's innate to his bloodline. Of course, you could obviously imagine this adding to the piles of angst surrounding the war, as Sirius had to have seen signs that his loved ones would die, making him think he could outsmart fate by changing the secret keeper...
I think this is getting too long, but I'm already thinking about part 2 because I have alot of thoughts about this...especially things that anyone could learn not just inheritied abilities.

oh its so much....its So cute that u know that panel where they step away to talk like "hey where did the bear guy send you to? 😄" its so casual for what a heavy event it was, and how hard what came after had been.....but i kinda love it you know it's not unrealistic to be like haha its fine NOW so we can laugh and have fun and relax and smile again....just like lawbepo hug on zou - bepo is SO happy to see law that he instantly forgets and forgives all the fear and pain law made him feel, it doesnt matter its over!!!
its the same with luzo at sabaody reunion they are all grins and "i cant wait to rediscover you, I'll enjoy learning how youve changed bit by bit, ill savour it like a good meal" long looks. Because its Safe they are together again and they both, they ALL worked to become stronger so they can stay together, so luzo have that sexy confidence about it and instead of regretting the wasted time they think "nothing can separate us now"
and its CRAZY cuz they've been through so much. from the absolute horror of the initial incident, to the pain of finding out what happened to luffy at marineford and zoro going insane because he isnt there for luffy. luffy going through that and not wanting to live afterwards but being brought back Because he has zoro and the others - no doubt in those tears of love and gratitude there was a mix up of guilt for considering offing himself because it would mean hurting THEM. he is very sorry, it passed.
so reunion is So full of joy and comfort Despite that horrible baggage makes it all the more beautiful for them to feel So Light as they fall into each other like: there you are, my love, my home, isnt it amazing how we sync up so effortlessly again - its pure happiness
not only both of them worked and changed and became so much stronger to be able to stay together, not only did they endure so much pain for each other's sake (others' too but u know. its fucking luzo) they also both discovered a facet of their love that only distance could give so theyve matured with it too

if luffy was possessive before he somehow becomes Worse much to zoros happiness. But luffys determination to be great to reach his goal is inseparable from his greed and selfishness, and that includes zoro, its crazy really because greed usually implies large quantities but with this its intense greed focused on one person (because zoro is luffys only lover and he wants no other. zoro is the best) which makes it Suffocating. in a way even the fact that "thought of zoro saved me from giving up" kind of = zoro is mine completely, its a batshit logic but thats not unusual for luffy -
luffy doesn't want to become king alone - he wants to do it with zoro and the others, his goal is his life, he is nothing without them and it just so happens that zoro is most important there, not making others disposable just cuz they arent sucking his dick but zoro is zoro, zoro was always different, zoro is the most HIS out of this group of people who will die for him
and they all came back...and zoro came back.. it's like by doing that they signed a second new and expanded unspoken contract between them that yes you are our captain Yes we will see you through the end etc
and luffy is so giddy that zoro is there ..not that luffy doubted him but he really feels like celebrating

worst popular infinite headcanon?
oh my. this one got long so im going to spare peoples dashes by putting this under a cut haha
anyways my answer is: making him out to be a little crybaby who is driven purely by revenge and sadness to make the world pay for shadow killing his squad mates, whom he loved in a normal way and saw them as family or whatever. it makes his character so goddamn flat and boring bc thats such a standard villain motivation, and it entirely strips away a lot of his personality even when theres already so little to work with LMAO
i know ive spoken about it at length in the dog&hog server but to me, infinites most notable trait is that hes selfish
in the prequel comic rise of infinite (yay, prequel comic talk. everyones favourite, i know) he deliberately ignores any protests from his gang against accepting eggmans deal of working with him, because eggy singles him out and offers him a place at his side to bring his fantasy of ruin into reality. not infinite and his crew, just infinite
(image has two comic panels. in the first one, eggman is reaching a hand out to infinite as he says "now you are an interesting guy. i like you. how about i hire you to lead my forces? together we'll take over the world!" in the second panel, one of the jackal squad members says "boss! dont be tempted by him. we'll be fine!")
and infinite says yes after briefly talking about how he personally feels bored and tired of how the world is right now
(image has two panels. in the first, infinite is mumbling to himself, first laughing and then saying "interesting. all this time ive been going through the motions. ive actually grown quite tired of the world as it is." in the second panel he stands and says "lets do it doctor! i'll help you change this world!")
again, its a decision based off an entirely personal and individualistic opinion that only takes his own feelings into account. you would think that if he valued his squad to the extent that they were "like family" to him, he would have listened when they said he shouldnt make a deal with eggman. if he actually cared about them as much as he cared about himself, he would have trusted them enough to say no. instead he only thinks about what he wants and what he can get, not about what will happen to the others
ive always been of the opinion that infinite used his squad and position of authority as their leader to prop himself up and viewed them more like underlings or subjects that he could order around and be superior to, rather than equals whose opinions and input he valued. maybe he started out having more camaraderie with the other jackals, but it certainly doesnt show by the time we get to the events of the prequel comic, and even less so when we get to episode shadow/the main game
the idea that he saw his squad more like tools to make himself look better than people also makes more sense because when in episode shadow, eggman calls infinites squad "useless" directly to him and all infinite says is "yeah, yeah" in a very uncaring fashion. even when he then spots shadow and says "you.. you destroyed my squad!" its entirely unconvincing to me that he said it out of sorrow or sadness; to me it was more like simple anger that it happened. because now without his little group of followers that looked up to him and did whatever he told them to, he had nobody to feel superior to. he couldnt go on any more power trips by being The Boss bc there was nobody left to indulge him, no one to stoke his ego, nobody to be the boss of. so thats why he felt slighted by shadow in the first place; how dare this hedgehog take away what made him feel special and important. and then of course the ensuing humiliation that came afterward was just the icing on the shit cake haha
it also explains why infinite never brings up his squad in any of his monologues (besides the prequel comics and episode shadow being obvious afterthoughts to the main game loool); he just doesnt care. if anything, their loss was his gain bc it pushed him towards acquiring the phantom ruby and getting to go on the ultimate power trip of world domination and near total subjugation of the population. i think that also ties into his mindset that friends make you weak and you cant rely on anyone but yourself; in his case, thats literally true. if he hadnt lost his squad, if he had initially listened to them, the chain of events we know well would not have come to pass and he would not have gotten to become the powerhouse he did. he would have still been leading his monotonous life and following the same old script. from his perspective they really did hold him back, and only once they were gone was he able to become stronger. he reiterates this by thanking shadow in the dlc for doing what he did in mystic jungle (killing the jackal squad and kicking infinites ass) bc otherwise he wouldnt have gotten the incentive he needed to take on the mantle of becoming a super powered weapon
and if you want some more evidence thats admittedly a lot more of a stretch, you could also interpret infinite creating a posse of past sonic foes as him filling the void of using the jackal squad that was created after shadow had taken them down. he gets to control people again (even if theyre clones that had no choice but to obey him but nyeh i told you it was a stretch), he gets to be a leader again
idk, i just think that having a sob story as a main motivation is (funny joke here) weak. i have never once thought that infinite needs to have some kind of sympathetic or tragic backstory. and maybe thats just my own personal bias coming through bc i prefer villains that are evil for reasons like their moral philosophies or have some kind of goal that makes the audience go "maybe they do have a point tbh" and villains that are just evil for the sake of it over villains that say "my mom died" as if that is any kind of justifiable explanation. imo it almost always comes off as them making an excuse, and its lame. just own it, yknow?
so yeah if i could block one thing from the minds of infinite fans it would be the hc that infinite was tightly knit with the jackals and wanted what was best for them. bc with all the evidence ive seen, its not supported at all, and hes actually the exact opposite; he does what he wants and uses who he wants for his own purposes and gain
also yes i do think shadow straight up killed the other jackals and i do think thats in character for him but thats a conversation for another day

the marc-max dynamic is so rich to me not in a ship way but just that they’re both red bull boy athletes child phenoms who came in and defeated the godlike reigning champions of their respective sports
any thoughts on their similarities and differences?
okay i do need a disclaimer that i am not an F1 scholar by any means i simply enjoy it very casually adn see my lovely mutuals post about it :) like i got into it bc my very offline best friend has loved max forever hes like my most beloved blorbo in law <3. daniel ricciardo is my babygirl though i love his ass. so dont throw rocks at meee
so for in terms of their similarities.... ive talked a little bit about the inherent ego that is tied to racing at the level these guys race at, adn max is definitely in that same vein. he's confident! super sweet off track but in the heat of the race knows when he has to prioritize himself and is not apologetic about it in the least. thats how you win. and thats where him and marc often get into trouble with the media lol (though marc is better at withholding, max will mostly just. say it. king.). but i also think theres a conversation to be had about how any single person in the conversation for GOAT in their respective sport has to be at least mildly crazy in terms of how they relate to their jobs. like obsessive religious devotion from young childhood in many ways.... for vehicular death sport more than mildly methinks. so one fun thing is that whenever they meet they can kind of talk to each other about racing in circles forever bc they love it :) freak4freak friendship where they relate to each other bc their sports are in conversation but not competition with each other, which makes the convo more fun! and it means they can literally just sit there and explain racing to someone who understands what its like to be a too-young protege champion but has enough gaps in their knowledge that a lot of info is mostly new. that must be pretty interesting to them both (especially max who loves that shit lol)
but the thing about max (and again im not a scholar) is that his childhood is so dominated by this complex entanglement between racing and his family and his father and all that mess. marc doesnt really have that same familial trauma tied to this huge polestar of his life (there are other traumas adn other family weirdness with marc but uhhhh this aint about that.) like max absolutely has that dog in him. but i think if he got super injured like marc he wouldnt necessarily do the crazy resilient comeback against all odds like marc did, i think he would retire! and some part of him would be kind of quietly relieved that he can let it go without disappointing anyone and then he'd go on the sim 8 hours a day adn be pretty happy. in a way marc absolutely would not be. but again i am no expert!!

i extended on something i wrote months ago in the subject of shinene codependency (and shinaya breakup) but its hidden in a Much longer post under a read more so i wanted to make it into its own post for my kagenalysis tag❤️:
to rant a bit abt the "personal narrative" of shintaro. i think it's interesting that shintaro is essentially a very self centered character and kagepro is very meta in the way it treats him as a main character. because inside of kagepro, he really gets as much focus as any other character, they're all "main" character to us. its rather inside the story he plays a very important role therefore he is the protagonist and as the protagonist he puts an end to the story itself too. i think this is all interesting together and fun to dissect shintaro's character as inherently self centered because that's what the story is. the initial premise is that he's a depressed guy living in regret he used to be "such a bad person" to someone he cared deeply about.
his self centeredness shows not only in the way he acts even without retaining activated, but he is really in the center of it. shintaro IS the protagonist and deep down even if he hasn't remembered yet, he knows that. so does everyone else. they all know they depend on him, sooner or later.
and i like to think of all this in a post str context thinking that the way he handles all that in everyday life once this story is over and theyre free from a narrative in the first place, is self destructive because its not compatible to being a normal person. he's a protagonist but there's nothing to be a protagonist OF anymore
so it IS taking him a bit to really LOOK at his friends and stop looking only for himself. technically he's lived a hundred doomed lives and now he's here trying out this one and again it is scary and new and... ene, who's been the most dedicated to centering her life around shintaro, is a clear safe place while navigating this.
he takes takane totally for granted because of this. in the narrative she has always been his sidekick. she has been the second main character to him. she has always lived and served him in all timelines, in all the time theyve known each other that she can't remember and he can, takane has been more ene than she's been takane to him, and ene has always been his annoying lap dog he hates as much as he needs in order for the story to move forward. takane of course reciprocrates the dynamic because it's also all she's known for a year. but... it's a year, vs. shintaro's God Knows How Many resets.
so eventually... as she is free from the narrative and very much her own person outside of him, capable of finding love and priorities somewhere else away from him and OUT LOUD tackling issues like hey we have a codependent dynamic going on we should work on, bc she does normal people stuff like going to therapy, takane moves on. which is mind blowing for shintaro AND HE DOESNT LIKE IT
he shuns it completely whenever takane brings it up, which she does a lot as time goes on. because time keeps going on. it keeps passing by. and everyone around him seems to be growing up and that's so infuriating and so terrifying and then stuff like ayano dating him and dumping him is as much of a reality check as ayano being alive in the first place, and he doesn't know what to do with it other than cry and thrive off the attention takane gives him again upon seeing him broken again.
he's in PAIN but it's familiar. it's comfortable. it's classic. it works. because the story he was a protagonist of was a tragedy, so he doesn't know how to behave when there is hope in the future. ❤️

That "Joseph doesn't like being held to the Joestar name standard" thing made me think. AU where Joseph, age like 10 or something, runs away from home after being compared to Jonathan one too many times. Meets some funny friends (one with a stand and one without any powers and maybe a dog too) and commits Bizarre Adventure. Not sure what the plot would be? Also for some reason when I try to think of his friends my brain comes up with Emporio, kid Avdol but from the early 1900s lmao
i love this for likea number of reasons between like
avdol wouldnt be alive until joseph was in his twentys at least, so the idea of abdul just somehow being there is just a lil funny
also i KNOW josephs ass would suck at running away. 10 year old joseph would say he's running away, pack a bindle and sit on the curb down the street. the only way he would end up actually "running away" is when he finally gives up on sitting on that curb, starts to walk home but gets dragged into some bullshit
lastly, this reminded me of this fucking joseph post i made forever ago back when i had been under the assumption joseph grew up in new york
i do love the idea of a runaway teen joseph going under erinas maiden name, because he is tired of everyone knowing him and his grandfather and their name
whether its about being treated as some heros grandkid, or the brat from that rich family. and getting some stupid idea about making a name for himself that he doesnt need to lean on jonathans legacy to be his own person.

idk i just think it's significant knowing like the detail gone in the costuming in this show (black cravat) that when izzy is introduced, theres a little crack in his armour as he goes about his business. little patch of tender skin visible at his throat, bisected by the ring. and its not just like, cause it's hot. he's got the glove on the whole episode as well.
me getting crotch shots out of providing image examples was not intentional i promite you
there was a way in. there was a little sliver of an opening, an alternate universe where con o'neill got his tits out and all of this was avoided. but izzy got struck up where he wears his bond around his throat like a collar when stede ambushed him. what does he call it but "unprofessional"? what's more important to izzy than a deal honoured? give me the hostages and i'll pay you. kill your dog or i'll kill him for you. give him to me and i'll give you stede bonnet. rules are to be obeyed, procedure is to be followed, authority is to be respected. promise me your right hand and i'll be the only person you can trust.
cause a ring is a bond, traditionally. and what is stede bonnet good at if not screwing over and encroaching on bonds? he's going back on his word constantly: in his marriage, in his promise to ed, in the social contract set out by society as a prerequisite for living inside it.
stede flouts bonds; no wonder izzy hates him from the start. the first thing izzy sees stede do is interfere with a transaction rightly made. lose your hostages? they're not your hostages. finder's keeper's, bitch. stede, idiot, catches him unawares and makes a fool and a liar out of him. in return, izzy buttons closed the possibility of ever reaching a compromise with stede, who cannot be held to his word. nevermind that it was izzy's fault, that he forgot the only rule is kill or be killed, that he was cocky and showed his throat, ring a shining target about his neck. he doesnt show it again.
what bond is the most important to izzy but blackbeard? a ring is a marriage, izzy is mary's foil, want to know the story with the ring? you do the maths (this is all leading up to my conspiracy theory that ed and iz got married on a piss-up 25 years ago and ed has no idea about this because izzy is insane and doesnt talk to him). loyalty to this bond is the only reason izzy's alive, because he's a snivelling little weasel of a man and everyone who meets him rightfully tries to kill him as soon as ed isn't around to hide behind.
it protects him from blackbeard, too; if edward's chasing the sun and izzy clings to his shadow then he's never in line of sight. but izzy stalks up to him in full view of the window and makes edward an ultimatum: promise me blackbeard, or i leave. i break our bond. and where does edward go for but the throat?
izzy covers skin with skin. i am human, he reminds ed. feel the only place i am vulnerable and remember.
you know what happens when edward isn't around? izzy gets murdered. edward isn't the one who needs to watch his back.
and what a tremendous weight that must be for ed. ed, who doesn't kill people, has found himself a first mate so universally hated that without continual measure he would inevitably be responsible for his murder by inaction.
in that moment he's gripping izzy by his bond. edward could kill izzy, physically, if he chose to; if he's not blackbeard then he's still ed, but izzy is fundamentally nothing. he's stubborn and complacent and too arrogant for his own good. he's got the ring around his neck and he strokes ed's face cause he knows that ed won't.
because izzy is so comically smug and stupid, that very same night he rocks the foundation of the only bond keeping him alive, he shucks his leathers. belly up, throat exposed; there's no ring around his throat. no contract, cause he broke it, no reminder there to stop edward coming for him now.
even then he doesn't go for the neck, at least not immediately. can't go over it, can't go under it, so he has to go through. if izzy wants to hold it over his head then edward will take the worst parts of him and shove his own toxic bullshit back down his throat. if izzy wants to be his first mate, he'll be his first mate whether he's in dress or smalls. there will be no night-time. there will be no reprieve. edward can't escape this bond, so izzy won't either. he'll feed him poisonous body and izzy will call it communion.
izzy puts the ring back on pretty fucking quickly after that
literally. it's a bit dark so i outlined the parts but it's pretty clear he put his clothes on in a hurry. his tie is askew, the ring is so dull and ungleaming that i struggled to tell if he was actually wearing it in this scene or not. his collar is rumpled, and his shirt's not even buttoned all the way up.
there's a crack in his armour again.

1. lmao the episodes right before the mid season finale look way better than the current ones despite time off. how is that even possible.
2. nah but its funny rachel was like wait i cant have him send demeter's a baby shower gift and cut minthe off financially thatll make him look bad! but instead adding him being AWARE shes 19 and still chasing after her "tiny pink body" and "ass shaped like an upside down heart" and having him brag about owning countless slaves makes him look better? the logic is flawless here /sarcasm

I mean even beyond the fact the citizens dont like him nor do the old underworld gods, how does rachel expect us to buy hades causing economical collapse in ALL the realms and causing shit with the other kings over ONE PERSON HE KNEW A MONTH doesn't make him look like an thin-skinned, oppressive dictator? why should anyone support this? he's raging out like trump when he lost the 2020 election. just because rachel keeps insisting hes in the right doesnt actually mean he is.
4. Fp- is the joke with the fur supposed to be funny? Cause it wasn't. It just shows 1 AGAIN(after buying stuff while complaining about capitalism) that Perse is a hypocrite, she knows it & doesn't care 2 Hades doesn't really care about animals beside his dogs, it's just adding to him being horrible person. If the fur was artificial she wouldn't feel bad about wearing it & it would be mentioned. Also feelings since 4th day? Creepy. Definitely that girl understands you the most after 4 days...
5. how could olympus and the underworld turn into a shitshow after persephone left? literally tho, she should have been a nobody. all the citizens should only know is that 1) hades ripped a guys eye out for her and 2) she killed humans and didn't report it to zeus. if anything, the citizens should've believed persephone deserved to be punished, and that hades is an immature manchild for what he pulled in the court,,,
6. Why doesn’t Cerberus have three heads. I’m sure this has been asked before but how you gonna write Cerberus without three heads—the one defining trait this dog has. Where are the other heads. Where are they
7. this is such a minor thing but WHY ARE NONE OF THE EYES IN LO LINED UP PROPERLY. I have a lazy eye and if I don't focus on it long enough it can go out of focus/look elsewhere, but I don't think that's what happening?? Why are their eyes always looking in different directions 😭
8. what I don't think Rachel gets this, but having Persephone and Hades cling to someone they barely know from a decade+ ago shows a huge lack of mental and emotional maturity on their ends. I realize it's a bit more complicated because we do know they end up together, but that's why placing it before they even start dating is just a bad idea. This isnt a case of lovers/spouses longing to see each other again, it's two grown adults with the emotional maturity of 15 year olds.
9. Rachel don't draw women with heart shaped faces, hourglass bodies, and huge eyes challenge (impossible for her specifically difficulty)
10. why would hebe even want to be like her mom anyway? hera was emotionally and mentally neglectful of her, abandoned her so zeus presumably raised her himself, and hera is a hypocritical, racist jerk who cheats on her husband, is misogynistic to other women, openly married zeus for power, told others about persephone's assault without her consent, mistreats her own "friend", and abuses her power of everyone else. rachel really wants us to buy she's a ~complicated woman~ over just being an asshole.

I have varied opinions on c!techno. I think he's interesting because I don't see a lot of genuine good to them as well as being morally terrible. He's diehard loyal to a select few people. He'll kill his allies without a second apology. He has a strict set of morals. Said morals are almost more ruthless than killing as he pleases. He makes long speeches on other people's morality. He does not and will not attempt to understand situations more than he already does.
I really wish they had canonized the Antarctic Empire fully because I think he was already a hypocrite and I think him being a former imperialist who gave it up and now is a challenge seeking anarchist with no interest in the longterm effects of his actions and a dog-eat-dog worldview would be interesting
100% agree that the AE should have been canon, i generally use that as his backstory because i think it dovetails well with wilbur coming from newfoundland as this mutual moral corruption of their ideals that they had in smpearth to pogtopia.
of the two, dream and technoblade, only one of them managed to get tommy to turn against lmanburg for a time. like, for everyone's portrayal of dream as this mastermind manipulator, techno did what he could never do and convince tommy to go against lmanburg. and the way he did it by exploiting tommy's fears of being abandoned is genuinely sinister as hell. its not treated like that from his perspective but from tommy's, thats how it seems.
a similar thing can be said in pogtopia. its implied on several occasions (mostly from wilbur's pov, but again, techno from techno's perspective is damn near a different character) that technoblade was aware that wilbur was going to destroy lmanburg, knew that he likely was going to die in the explosion, and was either complicit or encouraging in this plan. which when you look at the cwilbur finale and how lmanburg represented his friendships (and really you don't have to go as far as the finale, its all throughout lmanburg's history), its again, very sinister.
with ranboo, i believe there was a scene where he literally backed him against a wall, after bonding over their shared social anxiety and willingness to succumb to peer pressure, to join the syndicate and go against snowchester, which i will remind you is the nation ran by ranboo's husband who technoblade executed. again, humorous from techno's perspective but from ranboo's hes terrifying.
so techno's supposed virtue of loyalty is something i find difficult to see. to me, hes not even particularly lawful and driven by ideology. hes driven by a similar thing wilbur and dream are, the desire to be seen as powerful. and under "anarchism" (what techno believes anarchism is about) techno would be the most powerful person, so thats the ideology he drifts towards. but its not like he cares about the wellbeing or freedom of the people around him as you would expect an anarchist to do. and for all of his loyalty the only person he is "loyal" to is himself, and he is willing to accept help from others if they are also loyal to him. and thats the loyalty you see, which is why he feels "betrayed" every time someone disagrees with him.
its not necessarily that hes a hypocrite so much that he is not driven by what he says he is driven by. his sole motivation above all else is to be seen as powerful. he doesnt like governments telling him what to do, so he destroys them. when a dictator calls on him to execute someone and he is faced with either leaving the stage and being called a coward, or displaying his strength by going through with the execution, he goes through with it. he apologizes only when he knows the person will help him if he does. once you realize this, you realize that everything that techno does is perfectly in line with it and there is no hypocrisy within his character other than ones you project onto him.
and thats why hes nearly as bad as cdream is to me. but its also why hes one of my favorite characters.

fully incapable of not thinking about ciarán for even a moment so here have a ramble abt him.
so. i was thinking abt how henry and will both have their ,, yknow, their mascots, their assigned animals, their most definitely not fursonas. will has spring bonnie, so he gets the rabbit symbolism, and henry has fredbear so he gets bear symbolism, obviously.
and i was just. wondering which animal / animatronic ciarán would be most heavily associated with. because if there is one thing about me i am a SUCKER for animal symbolism in characters. like the inherent symbolism of how spring bonnie is a prey animal, so they inherently seem more trustworthy and "safe" and will, by association, was less likely to be suspected for anything he did? because what would a harmless little bunny do? because the kids subconsciously trusted him? yeah i eat that shit up.
anyway like. if we go off of ciaráns personality, hes almost certainly something canine. smth abt his unwavering loyalty + how readily he resorts to violence to protect those he cares about + how easily manipulated (trained?) he is + how well he reacts to positive reinforcement is very very doglike. so that points towards either roxy or foxy and i KNOW that wolves are closer to domestic dogs but like. just hear me out on the fox symbolism here. like particularly how it pertains to william + his rabbit symbolism.
foxes are a rabbits natural predator. like the Big One you think of when you think "what eats rabbits?" rabbits are seen as smaller, weaker, practically defenseless against foxes - as foxes can even chase them down into their burrows. they have nowhere to hide, no way to defend themselves. and ciar,,, he very much Presents like a fox, just as will presents himself as a rabbit. hes tall, hes loud, hes bold, and hes intimidating, and he isnt afraid to use those traits to his advantage. he likes to play with people. he doesnt much care what they might think of him on their own time, as its not like they actively have anything to hold against him. hes very clever. very much a trickster. very foxlike in that aspect.
william, on the other hand, is a man who is all about reputation. keeping up the act, keeping others happy — demure and sweet and oh so nice to the customers and their kids. a family man. its incredibly rare for a stranger to see him without a smile plastered onto his face. he has an act to keep up. as far as the outside world is concerned, hes the perfect man to play spring bonnie. he is the sweet, friendly little bunny. great with kids, sociable towards adults. he could never be a threat — i mean look at him! hes too sweet! that man could never hurt a fly! and seeing him around ciarán all the time — they cant imagine thats a very functional friendship. theres no way william manages to get even a word in edgewise, right? ciarán is far too overbearing.
... and yet, with each other, the dynamic completely flips. william takes the mask off, and ciarán stows away his little bag of tricks. why would he ever need it, when hes with the man hes so wholly devoted to? theres no need to fool, to intimidate him. not when hes too busy hanging off of every single word william says. ciaráns not here to gain any kind of control over the situation. hes the sidekick, the assistant, the extra pair of hands — hes just happy to be there.
the rabbit isnt being pursued, after all, no — its simply leading the fox, and the fox is more than eager to follow right behind.
just. something about the role reversal, the switch in dynamics / expectations really Gets Me. idk im just rambling here this may not even make sense to anyone but me

ngl i really dont look at much creepypasta fan stuff i pretty much stick with my own interpretations. for a lot of them its really just taking these stories where this characters are op edgy crazy killers and being like okay how would these characters actually be as teenagers and then forming their personalities like that.
jeffs obviously a megalomaniac wannabe edgy boy who thinks he can do anything without effort and that leads to him embarrassing himself constantly. extremely comphet unaware gay

janes character is nothing revolutionary really shes goth though i do think she really leans into fancy feminine gothness as both gender expression (shes trans) but also as escapism from the fact that shes just some girl who was thrown into a horribly traumatic situation so she compensates by making herself a character that she feels can overcome the situation and defeat her enemy.

my sally is arguably the most different compared to how shes usually portrayed as a sweet innocent kind young girl. my interpretation is that shes a no filter rambunctious bully bc shes stuck in an 8 year olds body and has severe trauma and doesnt know how to deal with it at such a young age so she puts up walls. shes mean but in a little kid way where its brutally honest and childish all at once. she calls jeff gay and he breaks down crying.
jack is mainly a semiserious tired guy, but he also can be a creature when he wants to. hes depressed mall goth and is team edward forever. he also really likes gardening and nature tho he has a bunch of cacti and likes walking through the woods
slenderman is like how hes normally portrayed except hes more gay and also enjoys gardening
