Okay. So I bet you're searching for some fics right now because you're bored, then you're at the right place. So this is a list of my favorite Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers fics. I've read so many fics but I'm going to list the fics which I remember and I recently read. You're probably wondering why I'm doing this it's because FIC WRITERS DON'T GET THE RECOGNITION THEY DESERVE. YES YOU HEARD ME. They spend so much of their time on this blog to give us such good stories/ contents, they have their personal life but still they write for us. And it is our time to be grateful for them so please if you ever read a fic, please like, reblog and comment. I've been on tumblr for less then a year and I've seen so many fic writers leave this blog. It genuinely hurts me because their loosing their inspiration because not many people recognize their talents. SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LIKE, REBLOG AND COMMENT ON THE FICS YOU READ AND LOVE. I know many of you read and don't reblog but please do cause as fan-fic readers it's the least we can do. So on this though I'm going to be listing the fics I've read. I'll see if this gets good response then I'll maybe do more. I'm in no way doing this for myself, it's for all the fic writers to tell them how grateful I am. The swallows, astrophile, between the stars are all my favorites. But my most favorite will be heart and soul that's just *NO WORDS*.You can literally binge her entire masterlist.

@invisibleanonymousmonsters I LOVE LOVE LOVE heart of steel. It was so good I had to call my cousin up and tell her this story. Like I'm not going to spoil it for y'all it's just *chef's kiss*. It's a knight!bucky x princess!reader. I'm telling you y'all won't be disappointed. And all of her other fics are good too. Y'all can check out her masterlist, it's definitely my favorite.

@hispeculiartreasure I've read only one fic of her's it's called All we've got is time. My god!! I loved that fic so much. It's a 40s Bucky fic. I was so addicted to it. I think it's one of the first 40s au I've read. Y'all should read it.

@allandoflimbo Take it back -pls read this. Don't even get me started. I'm never one to read cheating fics, but let me tell you it's not what I expected TBH. It's a Bucky x reader. That's all I'm going to tell you. I'm already getting chills talking about this fic. She's also writing on wattpad and ao3. She's got another new fic written it's called Ashens( I think). But I'm telling y'all will not regret it.

@speechlessxx I'm obsessed with her fics. I remember a long time back I read cherry chapstick, it's a Chris evans x reader. It was so good and I didn't know who wrote it. it was super good. And then her fics Bring me light. Wowowwo. It's a king! Steve Rogers fic. God I use to literally wait for her to post it. She also has a new fic. You can check out her masterlist, I tell you.

@kayteewritessteve JUST CHECK OUT HER ENTIRE MASTERLIST OKAY. THERE'S NOTHING MUCH TO SAY. IF I START TALKING ABOUT HER FICS I WON'T STOP. Anyways I still will. She mostly writes only Steve Rogers fics. I love literally every story she writes. It's just wowowoow. She has Mob! Steve, King! Steve, Cop! Steve. Just read it okay. No excuses

@whistlingwillows I've just read two of her fics but let me tell you, I was not able to come out of it. I myself have to check her masterlist cause she has SO MANY GOOD FICS. Buried in you're bones and foxglove just made me cry. Like seriously they're that good.

@jaamesbbarnes I love Disney au's so much and god y'all have to read Sirens song. It was so simple yet beautiful. It's a CEO! Bucky fic. And lets just say it was so freaking cute.

@redgillan READ HER ENTIRE MASTERLIST. Like she has so many good fics I get confused sometimes. Right now I'm obsessed with Under pastel skies. It's a Bucky Barnes fic. And it's a sugar daddy au. And it's not what you think 😳😏it's so freaking romantic. Just read it. And check her masterlist too. If I'm not wrong she has so many Steve Rogers fic too.

@papi-chulo-bucky AHAHAHA. I LOVE HERR FICS like TBH it's amazing. That's it. And I love her fic called Haunting ME. It's one of my favorites coz its a POC! reader fic. Like wowowowo. And the plot is so good. Check her out guys.

@wkemeup I STOPPED THINKING FOR A MINUTE CAUSE I HAD FLASH BACKS OF HER FICS. Like her fics have you going in a rollercoaster and it's like you cannot even expect the plot twist. And her plot is good and her writing is amazing. By any other name and guiding light are my all time favorites. Both had me wandering around my house at night.

@cxptain Last night only I finished reading one of her fics. And honestly it's really good I can't wait to read the rest of her fics in her masterlist. She wrote a mob! Steve fic and god it's freaking cute. And I have to say this it has the ultimate Sam, Bucky and Peter interaction it's so funny. Honestly I died laughing. AND SHE ALSO HAS A DESI FIC!!??! CAN I SEE MY DESI READERS!!! it's a Bucky x desi reader and honestly I read the prolonge and I was so excited. Y'all can definitely read her fics too.

Soooo... it’s here! Part 2 of the Sith Obi Wan fic, based off of @oifaaa‘s Sith Obi Wan AU. Turned out longer than I expected, and I’m not completely sure about some of the dialogue, but I’ve kept you guys waiting long enough. Hope you like this shit!

Anakin stalked out of the room, furious. How dare those Sith kill those clones? How dare they attack an undefended, middle-of-nowhere Republic base, just to make sure he couldn’t get back to the field. They hadn’t even had the guts to attack him out there, they’d resorted to sabotage and destruction, killing innocents to get at him. Anakin didn’t care if it wasn’t the Jedi way, he was going to murder those Sith. It didn’t matter how or why, but those Sith were going down. He was pretty sure he heard the Admiral call out to him, probably begging him to stop, to consider what he was doing, but Anakin didn’t care. Those clones had died because of him. Because his ship was going to stock up at that base, and those Sith had known it somehow. His fault. His fault. His fault. His masters had always said that Anakin cared too much, felt too deeply, and that one day it would ruin him, but if Anakin didn’t care about these clones, who would? Not the Senate, who sent them to die without a care. Not the Republic, who saw the clones as expendable and worthless. Not even some of the Jedi, who thought they were nothing more than droids, good only for following orders and saving lives. He knew he needed to calm down. Knew he was being irrational and impulsive, two things that Master Windu had always warned him about. He didn’t care. Those clones were dead because of him, and damn him if those Sith weren’t going to pay.

He heard footsteps behind him and sped up, certain that it was Admiral Yularen about to try to talk him out of this, to claim that he was insane and insist that he came back right this instant to start planning their assault on the mid-rim seperatist strongholds. Anakin glared at the end of the hallway, pointedly not looking back. He would not be talked out of this. The footsteps approached again, and Anakin hurried, near-running now. The footsteps approached again, and he cursed. He couldn’t avoid the Admiral forever, and it was better to make sure the man got it through his thick skull that he was doing this, and that he had no power to stop him. He turned around, and had already opened his mouth when he realized that Admiral Yularen wasn’t there. In fact, he was nowhere to be seen. Instead, Rex, Echo, Hardcase and Fives were there, all standing behind him in full armor. Anakin closed his mouth then opened it again, then closed it, confused.

“Uh... um... what are you doing here?”

Hardcase rolled his eyes. “What, did you think that we were gonna let you have all the fun?” Anakin opened his mouth to protest, but Rex stepped forward, eyes flashing.

“General, we saw that footage too. Those Sith killed our brothers. If you’re gonna be there, so are we.” Anakin blinked and opened his mouth again, not even sure what he was going to say, when Rex glared at him again. “Don’t even think about it, sir.” Anakin rolled his eyes. “You know, that borders on insubordination, soldier. Let’s go.”

Five minutes later, Anakin stood in the hangar bay of the Resolute, steadfastly ignoring the Admiral pleading for him to just see sense or at least wait till morning. R2 whistled, and Anakin, still ignoring the Admiral’s furious demands, slipped into the cockpit, nodding at Rex and the boys to do the same. Anakin smirked, watching the Admiral from behind the tinted cockpit shield. He was screaming, having lost all sense of composure. “R2, plug in those coordinates.” The droid gave out a series of exasperated whistles that informed him that this was his worst idea yet, though with lots, lots more expletives. Navigation screens popped up on his display, giving him coordinates for the ruined base and a brief view of the terrain around-quite rocky, but with lots of good trees that could be used for cover. Anakin nodded, and grabbed the controls, hurtling towards the planet, executing a series of flips and spins without ever slowing down He loved the force, loved being a Jedi, but this was when he felt most alive, flying through space, hurtling towards that fast-approaching tree line. He waited for the boys to catch up, while R2 hurled some shockingly foul insults, even for him. Once the slowpokes caught up, Anakin headed for the tree line, his descent much more controlled as he located a clearing and made his way towards it, occasionally checking back to see if the boys were still behind him. Once he finally landed, determining that the clearing was a safe quarter mile away from the ruined base, he popped up the cockpit shield. He swung his legs over the side of the ship, and climbed out, leaving his helmet on the seat for his return.

The instant his legs touched the ground, he gasped, assaulted by the most powerful dark side energy he’d ever felt, waves of hate and anger and pain nearly knocking him to the ground with their sheer force. He’d never felt anything like it, the fury and betrayal crashing into him like a herd of banthas. He heard Rex calling out to him faintly, but it was nearly impossible to move, the dark side radiating from this place in horrible waves. He’d faced Dooku, a former Jedi Master and second in command of the Sith Order, and even he couldn’t compare to this. What could have happened to make someone this furious, this full of hate and rage? He struggled to his feet, remembering one of the first lessons Master Windu had taught him. He’d been nine, just a few days into his training. “Shielding is one of the most important lessons any force-sensitive can learn,” Master Windu had told him. “You must focus. Imagine the strongest wall you can, protecting your mind, keeping anything you don’t want in out, and sealing all your thoughts in where no one can reach them.” Anakin closed his eyes and forced a wall around his mind, imagining his master there with him, lending him strength as he had that day, all those years ago. The dark side gradually retreated until he could see and move again. He sighed, relieved and took a moment to mask his force presence, but he knew there was no point. A force-sensitive strong enough to do… whatever that was would have sensed him the moment he got out of his cockpit, probably before he’d ever touched the ground.

“Are… are you okay, sir?” Hardcase asked, unusually quiet and concerned-sounding.

Anakin forced himself to nod. “The dark side is strong in this place. Let’s move out.” The clones nodded reluctantly, and did as he asked, but Anakin could tell they weren’t pleased. They had fought side-by-side for years now, had saved each other's lives countless times, and they knew when he wasn’t telling them everything. They walked forward, squinting through the dark night, a yellowish moon the only true light in the dark sky. Eventually, they came to a break in the trees and Anakin signaled for the clones to stay there as he stepped forward, into the burnt clearing where the base had been. He gasped, shocked. It was.... awful. Anakin had been in plenty of battles over the course of the war, but he had never stayed on the battlefield afterwards like some of the soldiers did. He stared at the place, horrified. The wreckage was somehow worse from the ground, fires still burning, the horrible smell of charred flesh in the air. Death hung in the air, so terrible and close he could almost feel it. He wanted to barf. From the stench, from the sight, from the thought that someone could do this, that someone force-sensitive, someone who could feel the suffering and death and pain could do this and enjoy it. He blinked and nodded to the boys, letting them know that the coast was clear… so far.

He concentrated, feeling for any other presences, any glimmers of life. He didn’t have to wait at all. Almost the second he did, he felt two horrible, dark presences, not even bothering to try to conceal themselves. Anakin frowned. They were undoubtedly Sith. He could feel the anger and darkness radiating off of them. So why weren’t they trying to hide themselves? There was no way two force-sensitives that powerful wouldn’t have felt him the instant that he had set foot on the planet without his shields up. It almost felt like they wanted him to find them. Like they wanted him to find him. Like they had wanted him here. His stomach did a backflip and, for the first time, he began to have second thoughts about running off to a random alien planet in the middle of the night after witnessing the most horrific murder he’d ever seen after two years of brutal warfare. He shook that off. There was no time to be nervous now. He looked behind him, and, seeing that the boys had already fanned out and were looking for survivors, nodded at Rex, and walked forward, blade ignited, throwing strange amethyst light around the quiet clearing. He cleared a wall of rubble and frowned, looking around him. He could feel the Sith here, where were they? He heard a noise, like a twig snapping, but that didn’t make any sense, the boys were pretty far behind him now-he turned sharply, barely able to block two brilliant red blades from crashing down on his head.

It was the younger sith, the one that had carried two sabers in the recording. She smirked at him through the gaps between their sabers, and smirked back. She was a togruta, pretty young by the looks of her, maybe 15 or 16, far too young to be so full of hate. He felt a stab of pity for her and wondered how she’d ended up here on this dark planet, so ready to kill people she’d never met. He blinked and refocused on the battle. No matter what had happened to take her here, right now, she was the enemy. He couldn’t let himself think anything else. She glared at him, her red-ringed yellow eyes furious and hateful, and he couldn’t suppress a slight shudder. She snorted, flashing long, sharp teeth threateningly and rolled her eyes.

“You know, I didn’t think you would be stupid enough to come down, but Jedi always surprise me.” Anakin glared back at her, annoyed more at himself than anybody that he’d fallen into a trap so obvious.

“And I thought Sith were smart enough to know when they’re outmatched. Guess we were both wrong.” Anakin forced his saber up, briefly stunning the girl and breaking the bladelock as he flipped over her head, striking and parrying. She returned with her own attack, which was nearly as fast as his own, though not quite as skillful. Her blades danced, deadly and mesmerizing, throwing bloody light and casting strange, angular shadows around the destroyed base. Anakin jumped back, letting her think she had overwhelmed him. She smirked coming forward with increased speed, her technique never slipping. Impressive. He ducked beneath the deadly arcs of red, briefly wondering at her unique Jar’kai style. Where had she learned that? He shook off the questions and refocused on the duel, blocking her spinning blades and coming up with a swift kick to her chest, stunning her and knocking her back. She growled, attempting to raise one of her blades in defense, but now he had the upper hand and easily disarmed her. He force pushed her back into a pile of rubble, pinning her against it. He picked up her fallen saber, a shoto, and held it to her neck, as a warning not to try anything. It was against the code to kill an unarmed opponent, even a Sith, but he doubted she knew that. Plus, if he could hold her here until Rex and the boys found him, she could make a valuable prisoner.

“Like I said, outmatched.” Anakin said, still smirking. The Togruta glared at him, her golden eyes flashing. “Not yet, Jedi scum.” He turned just in time to raise the girl’s shoto to block a huge piece of debris that was flying straight at him. He turned, gaping at her. She was clearly more powerful than he had thought. How had she done that?

Description: Everybody’s first day back at Edenbrook. Is this second year everything they will need it to be?

Disclaimer: Characters, storyline, and parts of the dialogue are taken from Pixelberry’s Choices. They fully own the characters, dialogue, backgrounds, etc. MC Jordynne’s background is my own creation, based loosely off of MC in-game’s personality and provided with more details.

Author’s Note: Ha. Soooo, its been a while. A long while. Many factors went into delaying updating this fic. First of all -- the pandemic. I am an essential worker. I am tired, and stressed. Yes, still. I am tired. I wake up, drive, work, drive, home, eat, sleep. That’s it. My freetime, creativity. mental health, etc. has been at an all time low. Second of all -- life. Soooo much has happened for my little family. My partner and I bought our first home and rescued our absolutely gorgeous puppy from a rescue shelter. It can be a bit hard to find time to write between putting your entire life into boxes, not having any furniture for 3 months and chasing after a puppy. Third -- I honestly felt like I lost my touch with my characters after reading Open Heart 2. The hiatus was understandable but long. There were chapters that were amazing, and heartbreaking and made me feel like I was soooo excited to write them. And then... by the end of Book 2... I felt lost? My favorite characters voices seem muffled. And I wasn’t sure how I was going to keep going. Do I ignore scenes/rewrite them? Would that compromise the premise of my fic? Being a fic that is in addition to the original PB story? I’m still a little lost if I am completely honest. Fourth -- general posting anxiety. Which I try so hard to avoid, and not think of. But comparison games, lack of notes and activity can get to you when you open yourself creatively online.

But messages of encouragement and inquiries into the next update helped! And I thank everyone who checked in on the fic and on me to see what was going on ♡♡♡ Honestly, I felt like I had no time to write, and even if I did I wasn’t motivated or inspired enough to do it. Tonight, I felt good. The news of OH3 was a bit of a kick starter for me I won’t lie. But I want to get back into these character’s heads -- I want to figure out the god damn mess that Jordynne has made for herself with Ethan and Bryce!!

Residency: Second Chances – Part One Part Two Part Three

Bryce stood near the entrance to Edenbrook — shuffling from one foot to another. Both hands were wrapped around paper coffee cups — one of which he took a careful sip of.

So he had stopped to get her a latte from her favorite café. He knew she would probably be in a huge rush to get to work early and wouldn’t stop to get one. He wanted her day to start off right. At least he hadn’t shown up to the apartment.

Well, the thought had crossed his mind but he had quickly pushed it away. This was about being her friend. He just wanted Jordynne to have a good first day.

His dark eyes kept flicking towards the subway stairs, waiting patiently for that familiar blonde head to come bobbing up. Placing one of the cups on top of the other, he balanced them carefully as he dug into his jeans pocket for his phone. Maybe she had texted —

“Oh Bryce — hey!” His ears perked up at the voice, and was met with a warm smile. The smile that occupied his waking dreams. He liked being the reason for that smile.

“Hey Jordy!” God, why did he sound so breathless.

“Happy first day as a resident!” He shoved his phone back into his pocket, before grabbing onto her latte and extending it out, “I thought you should be extra caffeinated for your day, so I got you...” But his voice trailed off as he realized she was already clutching a travel mug to her chest. “Oh you already got one.”

“Uh, yeah,” Her smile turned sheepish, “I had the exact same thought process as you actually.”

“Heh—,” he chuckled, “I guess I know you pretty well.”

Her green eyes flashed with a look he couldn’t quite read, “Guess you do.” “Well, do you want it still...?” He held out the lukewarm latte again, unsure what to do with it.

“Hey, I’m still Jordynne Holland. When have I ever denied extra caffeine?” Bryce’s white teeth bit his lip as they stretched into a smile. He handed her the cup — their fingers grazing slightly.

“Thanks.”

They fell into step behind the other roommates, trailing into the hospital. As they walked together, Bryce suddenly struggled to find what to say. He had never been one to stay quiet — usually he was the outspoken one. But now he just watched her grasp onto her two coffee cups tightly, her eyes low as she walked into Edenbrook.

Once they made there way into the staff locker room, they separated to their own lockers. He watched out of the corner of his eye as she carefully sat her two drinks down, before grabbing her white coat. She slipped it on effortlessly, before wrapping her stethoscope around her neck. Flipping her blonde ponytail out, she turned to speak with Sienna — her voice to low for him to hear.

Jordynne looked amazing — her lean legs and hips wrapped in a deep green skirt that showed off just enough that it was both sexy and tasteful. Her high necked pale blouse brought out her olive skin. She could be the woman on the front of the pamphlets they hand out to pre-med undergrads. She already was the doctor she was aspiring to be — and he knew she would fit in well with the Diagnostics team. He thought of Ramsey — his pressed trousers, and leather dress shoes. His watch that probably cost more then Bryce’s car. Grinding his molars, he looked down at the wrinkles trousers and Nikes in his hands. Peeling his shirt off he tossed it gently into his locker, letting out a sigh.

But he quickly masked it as Jordynne went to leave the locker room. “Hey,” He caught her attention before she went to leave, “You’re gonna kill it, Holland.”

“Thanks Lahela,” She gave him that smile again. The one that made everything flutter.

“I’ll save you a seat at lunch?”

“Oh—“ Her eyebrows furrowed slightly in the middle, “I’m not sure how my day will look with the team... I’ll play it by ear?” She offered, looking a little guilty.

“Yeah— yeah of course...” His voice sounded a little strained. “We’ll catch you later.”

She nodded at him, pushing her hands into her pockets, “Okay, yeah. See you guys in the atrium,” She called out over her shoulder, her blonde ponytail swinging as she walked away.

Bryce’s brown eyes flickered over to the rest of her roommates, who were all watching with slightly worried looks. It was starting to settle in. Maybe this second year, this second chance — was the beginning of everything changing. ________________________________________________________________ He had originally come up here to get accustomed to his new surroundings. Get a lay of the land. The board had spared no expense with the new wing expansion — and the Diagnostic team’s new office was no joke.

Ethan was standing across the hall from the room — staring into the room through the glass walls. Everything inside was sleek, shiny and new. His hands were bunched up fists in the pockets of his trousers, and the tie around his neck felt a little tight. Had he forgotten what all of this was like while he was away?

Thirty minutes he had stood there.

Thirty.

Standing there and imagining where he would sit at the table — discussing with the team, leading them to the right diagnosis. Researching at the desk, pouring over the hundred books that was supplied for them in there.

But the picture in his head was fuzzy. Even in his imagination Ethan felt like something didn’t feel right. What was it?

The team? No. Mirani and Hirata always did excellent work. He could rely on them.

Was it that Naveen was missing? So many of his biggest successes with the team was with Naveen. And he definitely felt his absence this past year. He had also never really adjusted to the idea of being the team lead for the department. It was thrust upon him, not once but twice. And both times he had been unprepared. Being a leader wasn’t exactly what he had always hoped for in his career.

Ethan’s thick brows were furrowed as he thought, the gears in his mind whirling. Why had he been staring at the office for thirty minutes? What was stopping him from going inside and just doing his damn work? That’s what he came back for — so what was his trepidation?

The light flickering on in the diagnostic teams office brought him back to reality. The room was illuminated, the white light shining through the glass walls and spilling into the hall.

There she was.

Jordynne stood at the entrance of the office, her back facing him as she took it all in. She hadn’t notice him from across the large hallway. Ethan stepped back into the shadows — hoping she wouldn’t see him capturing the moment. A silent laugh escaped him as he watched her set not one, but two coffee cups down onto the table. His lips remained upturned as he watched her wander deeper into the room, running her fingers over the smooth surface of the whiteboard. She had a soft smile on her face as she looked around her.

“Good morning Dr. Ramsey!”

Ethan almost hissed at the sound of the cheerful voice next time. Looking over he saw Dr. Baz Mirani standing next to him with a wide smile spread across his face.

“Morning,” He grumbled, looking back to his view of the diagnostics office where Jordynne had started to settle in.

“That’s Dr. Holland right?” Baz followed his line of sight, and watching her for a moment. “Are you going to head in?” The young doctor questioned, pushing his glasses further up the bridge of his nose.

He cleared his throat, before shaking his head, “You go ahead.”

The young man didn’t think anything of it, and marched over into the office. Ethan could hear their muffled voices through the glass as they introduced each other.

He noticed the next person that came up to him — Dr. Hirata. She gave him a nod, before pausing for a moment and staring at him in the dark side of the corridor. He could tell she was calculating, attempting to deduce what was keeping him out of their new office. But her face remained neutral and she turned on her heel and headed into the room.

Maybe there were too many variables for her to figure it out too.

His blue eyes watched as the three colleagues got familiar with each other, shaking hands and pleasantries. Maybe this would be a perfect time to go in. He had missed the awkward introductions — the worst part was over. He just had to go into the room.

Running his hands over his white coat, Ethan crossed the hall and stepped into the brand new office.

“Introductions done?” He asked, his thick brows raised. He glanced over them quickly, not long enough to make any eye contact. “Great. We’ve got work to do.” The glass door behind him gently hissed as it closed — leaving them all in the office together.

Ok. First step done.

“We have an incoming patient from Manhattan Presbyterian.” The trio slid apart to make room for him as he marched to the board, pining up an abdominal CT scan.

Jordynne, June and Baz grabbed a spot at the circular wooden table in the middle of the room.

“Can you describe the patient?”

“Male, aged 45. Asian American.” He watched as Jordynne took out her trusty little black notebook, and started jotting down notes.

“Symptoms?”

“He presented with a fever, vomiting and diarrhea, and was treated for the flu. He returned several days later with enlarged lymph nodes, abdominal pain, and a rash on his shoulder.” Grabbing onto a black marker, he started to write the known symptoms down on the white board. With his back turned to the group for a moment, he let the corners of his lips turn up for a split second. This felt good. “What did his former doctors think it was?”

“Hodgkin lymphoma.” He made sure he kept his face neutral -- to not give any answers away.

June scoffed, “Amateurs. And his blood?”

He almost laughed.

As the conversation started to amp up, Ethan slipped back into his role on the diagnostics team easier then he had imagined. Bouncing off of each other during the differential — he had missed this.

Then he realized Jordynne hadn’t said anything. She was sitting in her chair, looking slightly awestruck. But she was still writing notes diligently and observing them going back and forth.

“Six months ago, however, he was admitted for flu-like symptoms and a rash on his arm.” Ethan continued, drawing his eyes away from her and focusing back on the conversation.

“That could be the key. Did they biopsy it?” Baz asked, eyebrows raised and face hopeful.

He pursed his lips, “They didn’t.”

“Any history of dermatitis?”

“Was he on any medication prior to being admitted?”

June and Baz asked one after the other, going through their mental lists. “No and no.”

“It could be cutaneous Kikuchi disease.” Hirata suggested. But she didn't do suggestions -- she diagnosed.

Interesting.

June had gotten there first. But she was always like that. It was a race for her.

“The symptoms do add up.” Dr. Mirani nodded, giving his colleague a look of approval.

“I agree.”

There was a knock on the door, and they looked up to see Danny on the other side of the glass. Ethan waved him in where he announced the patient's arrival at Edenbrook.

“Excellent. Dr. Holland,” He spoke directly to her for the first time that morning —holding his breath as he waited for her reaction. But her face remained neutral, looking up at him through her lashes as she waited for him to finish, “Run a biopsy on the patient’s rash. If we’re correct, we’ll begin the patient on a treatment of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories and prednisone.”

He noticed her swallow for a moment, listening to her instructions. “And if we’re wrong?”

“We’ll re-evaluate.”

“But we won’t need to,” June said confidently, leaning across the table at Jordynne with a wink.

“Team dismissed. I’ll page you if I need you again today.” He turned around, going back to the white board to add their final notes and treatment plan.

Out of his peripheral vision he saw Baz put a gentle hand on Jordynne’s shoulder. He lowered his head to speak in her softly, “I made the same face my first few days on the team. You’ll get used to it.”

Ethan crossed over to his desk to find the patient's file. Rummaging in his pockets, he found his glasses and slid them on. Without looking up from his file, he spoke to Jordynne who had remained in the room, “After you’re done with our patient, you can see Ines and Zaid for further assignments. You’ll be balancing your work here with your usual resident duties. Now that you’re in your second year, that will include rotations at the free clinic.”

“Yes, Dr. Ramsey.” Her voice was so professional, so trained. He had never heard her sound like that. It was like she had practiced.

He heard the sound of her crossing the room, and stepping towards the door. But then she hesitated. “Will we always diagnose a patient without seeing them?” She asked.

“No, but we’re often asked for help by other hospitals all over the country, so it’s a good habit to keep our blind diagnosis skills sharp.” He finally looked up from his file, using his finger as a bookmark in it. But when he looked over to, his stomach flipped slightly as he found that her green eyes already staring at him.

He could see her hesitation, and maybe some nerves. She had just been thrown into the deep end -- and it seemed she was struggling to stay afloat.

“Is everything alright, Jordynne?”

He couldn’t help himself. Plus, it was his responsibility to ensure her success on the team now. It was apart of his job to check in on her.

“Actually...,” She made sure the glass door closed, before stepping further into the room, “Could we talk?” Her fingers were knotted together in front of her -- she looked nervous, and vulnerable.

Ethan studied her for a moment, chewing the inside of his cheek, “About the job? Or about us?”

Her eyebrows furrowed for a moment, like she was in pain. But it was for just for the smallest moment -- he had barely even caught it. “The job.”

Placing the file down, he pulled a chair from the center table out for her where they sat down together. He adjusted his glasses on the crook of his nose, before settling into his chair. “I’m all yours,” He said, folding his hands carefully on top of each other on the table as he waited for her to speak up.

“Dr. Ramsey...," A flicker of doubt crossed her face, before she opened her mouth, "How are you sure you made the right diagnosis?"

Grabbing the file in front of him, he pulled out the patient's previous charts and placed them in front of them. “In medicine, the most logical answer is usually the correct one. In this case, the most obvious answer was Hodgkin lymphoma.”

“But the other hospital had already eliminated Hodgkin lymphoma.” She finished for him.

“Correct. Which allowed us to take it off the board and considered the next most logical answer.” He pointed back over his shoulder to the symptoms he had written on the board in his chicken scratch, “The patient had a persistent rash. Paired with the symptoms present, the most logical answer is Kikuchi disease." He met her eye easily across the table, before matching her vulnerability, "But as to how I’m so sure, I’m not. Which is why you’ll be running a biopsy. We need to trust in our diagnostic instincts, but the second we let arrogance overrule the results, we fail as doctors.”

“So I should use logic... and be humble?” Her eyebrows were tugging in the middle as she processed his advice.

“And read journals. I want you to turn yourself into a walking disease encyclopedia. You can’t diagnose the patient if you don’t study up. If the patients we saw had more common diseases... they’d never have been referred to us in the first place.”

“Got it.” She nodded -- eyeing the bookshelves behind them that were filled with textbooks.

“So what did you think of the team?" He asked curiously, "It was the three of us under Naveen last year, until he put himself out to pasture.”

A soft chuckle escaped her, “You mean became Chief of Medicine?”

He smiled at the sound, “Precisely.”

“Well, we just met but I think I liked Baz.” Jordynne offered, pursing her lips.

“He’s hard to dislike. Walking proof that genetics aren’t everything.”

“When did he join the team?”

“A couple years ago, when Zaid began his residency. He sought a position here to be closer to his brother.”

Her eyebrows raised in surprise, “Can’t believe Zaid would be okay with that.”

“Supposedly, the old chief cleared it with Zaid before he approved the transfer. But I heard a rumor that it was Baz, dressed up pretending to be Zaid.”

Her mouth fell open, “He wouldn’t!”

He shrugged, a cheeky smile spreading across his face. “I don’t pay any mind to rumors.”

She smirked back at him -- and he could feel the nervousness and ice melting between them. They could do this.

Two colleagues conversing normally. This was fine.

“So if I want to get on Baz’s good side, how do I go about that?” She leaned in a bit more towards him, putting her elbow on the table and resting her chin on her fist.

Ethan thought for a moment before replying, “Baz is earnest to a fault. He respects authenticity more than anything so... as much as I despise saying anything so incredibly banal, my advice would be... “be yourself”,” He grimaced as the words left his mouth.

“Oof—“ She chuckled, “That must have hurt to say aloud.” She knew him well. “That’s why you’ll never hear it again.”

She let out another laugh, but this one sounded more sad. Then a sigh escaped her, and she started picking at her lip, “I thought I was so ready for this year. How do I feel like a clueless intern all over again?”

“Because you are clueless, relatively speaking.”

She frowned, “Gee, thanks.”

His stomach dropped -- that's not what he meant. “It wasn't an insult," He scrambled to get out, "You get to spend the second year of your residency in a small room with over three decades of collective medical knowledge and experience. Learn from it. Be inspired to become a better doctor from it.” He looked up, and found her already looking at him again. His thick brows furrowed, “What is it?”

“Oh uh... your glasses...," Her words trailed off as she looked at him, "They make you look smart.” She sounded a little breathless.

He did his best to ignore how that made him feel, the blush that might have been creeping up on his cheeks. So he hid between cheek and tongue. “You’ve caught me. The illusion behind my status. Without these I’m a simpering moron.”

The pair was quiet for a beat, before bursting out laughing. As they laughed, she casually tapped his hand with hers. “Thank you,” She spoke again, but this time her voice was quiet.

Her fingers had lingered on his hand, so she gave it a squeeze. They were cold on his warm skin.

Ethan's jaw set as he felt those familiar sparks. Jordynne...” His voice was a warning. It was only the first hour of their first day.

“I know.” She said carefully, but she looked down at the table.

“We’ll be okay. We’ll make it work.”

He wasn’t sure who he was trying to convince.

“Yeah,” She breathed out.

He moved his thumb gently across her fingers, daring to give her just that smallest bit of comfort. But the sound of the glass door whooshing open caused him to rip his hand away.

“Whoops! Forgot my pager! That could have been very bad!” Baz strolled back into the office -- oblivious to what he had just walked in on.

Both Ethan and Jordynne bolted out of their chairs, stepping away from each other.

“Hmm. Yes. It’s right over there on the table.” Ethan pointed before shoving his guilty hands into his lab coat.

“I’ll get those tests run.” Jordynne had moved to the door, her arms crossed over her chest and face flushing red with embarrassment.

“Excellent. Thank you.” He said with a nod, watching as she turned on her heel and marched down the hallway.

Why was nothing ever easy with Jordynne Holland?

Would this year be any different?

"Cholecystitis." Jordynne said as she finished adding it to the whiteboard in the diagnostics room. Her perfect block letters standing out drastically against Dr. Ramsey's messy scratch. "Inflamed gull bladder which explains the abdominal pain after eating. Which is entirely separate from Kikuchi disease."

She turned around, capping the pen with a confident smile. Esme was standing near the door, watching the scene unfurl with crossed arms.

"I have to say, I'm not sure I would have spotted that." June spoke first -- looking mildly impressed.

"Nice catch, Jordynne." Baz gave her a big smile.

"Indeed. Especially since we had been diagnosing based on reports, not our own face-to-face interviews. Dr. Holland's specialty has always been listening to her patients. Well done." He gave her a nod, a smile threatening to show on his face.

"It wasn't just me. Dr. Ortega assisted." She nodded to her intern at the door. She knew that drove Ethan crazy -- passing along credit to her colleagues. But Esme deserved it.

"Hey," Esme nodded her head at the trio from the corner of the room, attempting a smile.

"So this is your intern?" Ramsey stepped forward, eyebrows raised. "Well, Dr. Ortega...," He sized her up for a moment, before moving his steely eyes over to Jordynne. "Dr. Holland's one of our best. Consider yourself lucky."

Jordynne felt warmth spread in her chest -- feeling proud of herself. High praise from Dr. Ramsey -- everything between them aside.

"I do, Dr. Ramsey."

"Keep me updated on his treatment." Ethan asked politely, before filing out of the room with the rest of the diagnostics team.

"So I guess you're pretty good at this." Her intern looked at her with a little smirk. "You saw for yourself, I learned from the best. Edenbrook has some of the best doctors in America, and you'll learn from them all. And not just the attendings, but your fellow interns too. I wouldn't have made it through without my friends."

"You telling me to what... be more social?" Esme looked up at her -- her face filled with doubt.

She shrugged, the corners of her lips tugging up, "It can't hurt."

"It definitely can."

"Donahue's from the other night? That's where everyone goes. But first, let's get you back to your patients." Jordynne started to shuffle out of the office, but Esme's voice stopped her.

"Right... Hey, Dr. Holland? Thanks for not bailing on me. Gotta say, that's a new one." She sounded genuine.

"Sure thing, Ortega. I got your back."

This year could be different.

I’m basically unable to function after seeing far from home this evening but also it was so good. I teared up when tom did and my mom made fun of me but its okay because his acting was awesome! Highly recommend y’all see it (even tho ik you probably will if you haven’t already lol)

Previously on starstruck...

The faint remains of his cologne wafted to your nose and you couldn’t help but breathe it in. You relaxed further into his grip and stayed comfortable until you heard a buzz on the table next to you.

You decided to ignore it until it happened two more times. Finally, you decided to wiggle out of Tom’s grip and succeeded without waking him. You picked up the cell and noticed it was 10 a.m. and all three texts were from b/f/n

Hey I’m coming over

I’ll bring ice cream since you said you weren’t doing too hot yesterday

I’m on my way

“No. No, no, nonoNO,” you exclaimed, getting louder and louder, causing Tom to sleepily ask,

“Could you keep it down, darling?”

“No, I can’t ‘keep it down,’ Thomas, because b/f/n is ON HER WAY HERE!”

“What!?”

He sat up fully awake.

“We have to get you out of here without her seeing, and she’s probably gonna be here in like 5 minutes.”

Tom rushed to get up and find his keys that were in the pocket of his discarded jacket while you hurried to brush your hair and take a makeup wipe to your face.

You clambered down the stairs and hurried Tom through the kitchen and into the laundry room when you heard the doorbell ring, and when you didn’t answer in apt time, it began ringing like crazy.

Panic stuck your chest and you looked at Tom.

“Open the garage and leave in 5 minutes, then text me so I can close it.” You commanded, beginning to walk towards the entryway.

“Wait, wait,” he grabbed your arm, “I don’t have your number!”

You scrawled it down on a sticky note and ran, hoping he would get out safely and quickly. You opened the door to find b/f/n holding two pints of ice cream, raspberry sorbet for you and coffee ice cream for herself.

“My gosh what took you so long? I about started searching for the spare key with all these goods melting.”

You were about to reply when the door between the garage and utility room shut loudly.

“Uh, who was that?” she asked, knowing your parents were at work.

“Oh, uh, a friend from dance. We’re working on a piece together and we decided to talk about it last night since I hurt my head,” you lied.

B/f/n furrowed her brows for a second before letting it go and coming inside to set up your typical movie day in the living room. Meanwhile, you headed back to the kitchen to grab spoons and check your phone, where a new number had sent a message.

I’m out so you’re good to close the door. Thanks again for the great night ;)

You smiled and sent back

That makes it sound soooo much worse than what really happened haha. You made it out without suspicion too :)

You decided to put his number in as a contact, disguising him as “Clara Twinkletoes” after a joke made late into the previous night, then headed to the living room.

After finishing one movie and your separate ice creams, you both decided to take a break and were looking at your phones.

“Hey, I know you hate talking about Tom Holland,” you gave a side-eyed glance to the bringing up of his name, “but guess what? He liked my picture last night! I just remembered to tell you!”

B/f/n held up her phone to show you the notification, then went back to staring at it excitedly.

“That’s actually really cool. I’m happy for you,” you expressed, leaving out the fact that you had asked Tom to like it when you were talking about the post at 1 a.m.

A few minutes later, b/f/n breathed out a soft “woah.”

You looked at her in confusion.

“Y/n, look at this girl Tom was photographed with yesterday, she looks like your twin!”

Dread filled your stomach as you stared at the picture of you and Tom in his black Audi A8, that stupid ballet skirt wrapping your head.

“Yeah, maybe if I took ride alongs with celebrities and wore nineteen fifties headscarves,” you quipped, “you only think that girl looks like me because you want it to be me, b/f/n.”

“Hmm, I guess…” she trailed, taking back her phone to continue scrolling through Instagram.

Not long after, you got a text from Clara twinkletoes.

Have you seen the picture??? I’m getting tagged and you are too

Like… everyone thinks that girl is you

Psh as if. We can talk about it later, I’m busy with my gal pal

Fine. Also, I was wondering if you wanted to go with me to the beach tomorrow? I wanna talk about all this in person

Hmm. Maybe. Probably not ;)

“Hey, b/f/n?” You asked tentatively.

“Yeah?”

“Is it cool if you don’t spend the night tonight? I need to go to dance early tomorrow since I took the day off and I’ve also got this head injury so…”

it wasn’t a complete lie. You did have a head injury and your plan was to go to dance at some point, but you decided to leave out the part where you might actually go hang out with hot shot Holland.

“Oh, uh yeah, sure. My sister is coming into town this week so it’s probably for the best, you know how my mom is about cleaning the house and stuff,” she said, obviously trying to hide her disappointment.

Around 4 pm, she got up to leave. You had watched two more movies and eaten plenty more snacks throughout the afternoon.

“I guess I’ll see you later, y/n. Hope you’re feeling better tomorrow,” she smiled.

You returned the gesture and gave her a hug, then watched from the doorstep as she mounted her bike and rode off to her house only a few neighborhoods away, you feeling queasy about lying so much.

You headed upstairs after a light dinner and some TV. It was only about 8 o’clock, but the combination of a head injury, late night, and slight emotional distress (from lying to b/f/n) made you feel exhausted, not to mention you would be waking early the next day.

You changed into sweats and flopped into bed, checking your social media for a little bit to wind down.

Your snapchat was just pictures from friends, only a couple of them joking to you about the whole Tom Holland situation (but of course none of them knew the truth)

Twitter and Instagram, however, were a different story. After the premiere, you had chosen to turn off notifications and were especially happy to know it was the right choice.

On Twitter, fan accounts and other people were replying to a joking tweet you had made days before the premiere in reply to b/f/n where you said “Why be friends with that tom holland guy when you could hang out with your superior best friend hmmmm?? He’s lame compared to me lolol”

People were going nuts about it, divided over whether you were just messing around or if you really didn’t like him. Most of them chose the former, though you knew you had meant the latter. Other people were tweeting about you separately and debating about that picture from the day before.

You almost deleted your Twitter in a rash decision but realized how suspicious that could look and instead closed it and moved to instagram.

It too was overflowing with tags and comments and follows and likes. Your stomach churned as you realized how big this was becoming. Finally you made the choice to meet Tom tomorrow, even if it risked being caught again. You sent him a single text to let it be known:

Alright twinkletoes. Let’s go to the beach.

You figured you could reply to whatever he sent in the morning and put your phone on do not disturb before plugging it in and checking the alarm.

You snuggled into the sheets and buried your head into a pillow. A sweet and musky scent drifted into your nose and you took a deep breath.

Tom’s cologne

You sat up, sniffing around the sheets, pillows, and covers, realizing he had left his scent everywhere.

“I need to wash these sheets tomorrow” you breathed to yourself in an annoyed tone.

With that you laid back down, glad that b/f/n wasn’t there to ask whose scent was all over your bed. Though you tried to convince yourself that you wanted the smell gone, had anyone been watching, they couldn’t deny the way you sunk into the bed and the faint smile that made its way to your lips as you drifted into slumber.

Not liking characters doesn't automatically make you a racist.

So I just unfollowed someone because in their post they said that they dont like it when James Olsen is written as the villain of a fan fic story. She assumes it's simply because the writer didn't like Guardian Corp and the writer has to be a racist. (Note check the bloody tags! Most state if it's Anti James).

So, I've got a story up on AO3 at the moment where I've done a role reversal for Kara and Lena. I needed a antagonist and I chose James. Why didn't I go with Lex? Because in my story Lex is a good guy and Superman is the bad guy. Same storyline as the original only it's Reporter Lex that took down villain Superman. I have James as Lex's best friend but I chose to have him as a bad guy.

Now is that because I didn't like Guardian corp? Well my story does have Guardian corp in a negative light I'll own up to that.

But for the record I didn't hate Guardian Corp because James is a black man or because I'm a Super Corp shipper. I hated it because there was no build up and they made no sense and I'm not a fan of the way I saw James treating Lena. They didn't have enough time to build anything, they were thrown together. If James was a nicer character id have been OK with it. But it had bugger all to do with his race.

I was absolutely on board with Lena and Jack! I was devastated they killed him off! I'm not naive, Supercorp is extremely unlikely to happen but that's why fan fic exists. I don't dislike James because of Supercorp. I haven't liked James since the first episode. No it's not because he's black! I actually defended the casting choice to some of my very old skool DC fan friends (40+.) Please dont bore with the 'i defended him so i cant be racist' nonsense. I simply don't like the way he is written. Plus the writers don't seem to care to much either. (Note I'm glad they haven't ignored his PTSD).

Back to the point. Not liking a character doesn't make you a racist. I didn't like Mon El either. Oh no?! Im a white woman who didn't like a black character but I'm also a white women who DID like a black character and im a white woman who didn't like a white character (Mon El) .

Soooo.... Am I racist for not liking both a black and a white character? While simultaneously really liking Jack, Jonn , Megan, Col Haley and now Kelly? Guess I must be.

Comic book writers change up their characters a lot. Sometimes they have alternate versions of them. I guess I must be a white woman racist against her own race for making Superman my bad guy.

Do the Supergirl writers hate Kara because they wrote her on Red K? Or because they wrote a Nazi version of her? Or now a copy that is causing issues? No!

So to take a leaf out of the protesters book if you think I'm a racist please just unfollow me and take your imagined slights elsewhere.

Being a black character doesn't give James a free pass to be an ass anymore than being a white character gave Mon El a free pass to be an ass. Or even when Superman or Batman or Green Arrow are being asses!

It is possible for a character of a different race to your own to be a bad character.

Plus if you're going to read fan fic check the bloody tags.

On Top of the World

Soooo, I finished writing my new fic’s first part. I know I said I was going to upload it yesterday but it snowed so much over here and I just didn’t have the time. Before you begin reading it, I just wanna give a shoutout to @riddle-me-this-mr-nygma, go check their blog, it’s amazing!

At first, I wanted to do a Peter Parker’s fanfic, but it turned out to be a Tom Holland’s fanfic, so whatever, hope you guys like it!

Pairing: Tom Holland/Reader (female) (sorry, it isn’t gender neutral :/ )

Hope you guys enjoy it, if there’s some mistakes well i’m sorry, hope it isn’t that bad haha

It was 7 in the evening and you were waiting for your acting class to begin. At 19, it was your first time in acting and you were really excited. As a teen, you had been too shy to take a class but now that you were a young woman, you felt as if nothing was impossible and you knew your shyness wasn’t going to stop you anymore.

Your coach, Christopher Brown, entered the room, where you were sat alongside seven other young boys and girls.

“Welcome to the intro to acting class, he said. I hope all of you will work as hard as I expect. And the end of this class, and I mean not the session but this class, I will choose one of you to come with me on the script reading I’m assisting next Friday.”

You wondered for which movie it was. You hoped it was for a movie where you’d be able to meet some interesting actors (if you were chosen).

“The best of you would be chosen, so work as hard as you can.”

You almost asked for what movie it was but one of the other girls was faster:

“Can we know for which movie it is?” she asked.

Your coach smiled before saying:

“You will learn to raise your hand before talking, young girl.”

You weren’t expecting that. You didn’t know a lot about your coach, but nobody had ever said he was rude. The girl didn’t say anything, her eyes almost filling with tears.

“Here are some lines I want you to read and try to concentrate on getting the good emotion. As you probably all know, emotion is the most important thing in an actor’s life.”

He passed some papers around and you got a line from a movie you had watched like twenty times over Christmas break. It was from the newest Spiderman. It was Aunt May, when Peter comes back from the ferry.

Your coach started going around the room. Everyone had some lines from Spider-Man. One sentence or so. As he went around the room, asking everyone to read, you realized you had more lines than the other. You started stressing, not knowing if you would be able to do a good job.

It was now the turn of the girl who hadn’t raised her hand before talking. She seemed way more stressed than you were.

“Uhm, well okay, there you go”, she said.

She took a few seconds of silence and then said without any intonation:

“What if somebody had died? That's on you. What if you had died? That's on me. I don't need that guilt on my conscience. I'm gonna need the suit back.”

Your coach just looked at her. He stood there silently for like a minute before he said:

“Are you serious?”

And then the girl lost it. She started crying and you felt really bad for her. Your coach didn’t seem to care and he turned to face you.

“Your turn. Impress me please, because I am very disappointed in all of you. I know it’s a beginner’s course but like, there’s beginner and beginner. You choose which one you are.”

Your heart was beating so fast, it was almost painful. You took a deep inspiration and then began:

“I know you left detention today, you said with a worried tone. I know you left the hotel room in Washington. I know you sneak out of this house every night and that is not okay.”

You took a pause, long enough to look at your coach’s eyes before finishing:

“Peter, what is going on with you? You can tell me! you exclaimed. Just you and me. I promise.”

You tried your two last words to be as convincing as you could. Your coach just stared back at you, but he seemed impressed.

“A natural, I see. That is what I’m talking about when I say get the good emotion. You see”, he continued, looking at the other persons in the room, “if you want to be convincing, you need to feel what the character’s feeling. In fact, you have to be the character.”

He looked around the room.

“See, I didn’t tell anyone to practice those lines before, but most actors don’t have a lot of time to practice them before the first script reading. It’s something you either have naturally or you never get it.”

He looked at the girl who had stopped crying, but looked miserable.

“There is always the possibility to get better. It was your first reading and I know you are all stressed. You all need to learn to work well under pressure. Acting is not easy if you aren’t able to work under pressure.”

He walked to the front of the room and wrote on the blackboard. When he stepped aside, you could read what he had written. One word : Monologue. He had underlined it three times.

“Next week, you will be reading your first monologue. Right here, in front of all of us. You can find anything from any movie or play you want, but I want it to be two to three minutes long. Yes, that’s long. If you don’t find anything, you can always write something. Try to concentrate on one emotion. The one that you think suits you best.”

You already started to think of what you could use as a monologue. You decided to look for something online during the week.

For the rest of the class, your coach didn’t ask you to talk anymore. He made you all do some exercise to lower your anxiety, which he said would be useful for some of them. You again felt bad for the girl who looked as if she wanted to be miles away from here.

Finally, the time had come for him to announce who he had chosen to accompany him on the script reading.

“There’s a reason why I chose some Spider-Man lines earlier. The next movie is going to be filmed here and I will be working on the script with the directors. Friday will be the first script reading and I think I am going to bring…”

You hoped really hard he had chosen you. You were the biggest Spider-Man fan there was and you couldn’t help but to crush on Tom Holland. And now, you were so close to meet him. Your coach looked around the room, to each one of you before resting his eyes on you.

“You. What’s your name?” he asked.

“Y/N”, you answered.

“Well, Y/N, I hope you will enjoy the script reading, he said. Maybe one day you’ll be in the actors’ place, who knows.”

You smiled, hoping you didn’t look like you were internally screaming.

“The class is dismissed, he then concluded. Y/N, stay, I will give you the location of the script reading.”

While everyone was leaving, you put your things in your backpack before walking to your coach. You took your cellphone and wrote the address in your notes.

“Tell me if I’m wrong but you are a big Spider-Man fan, right?” he asked.

You blushed a bit before saying:

“Yeah, well I mean yeah of course.”

He laughed and said:

“We aren’t going to read the entire script Friday. Only the first few scenes, with Thomas, Zendaya and Jacob.”

You wanted to scream OH MY GOD, but you tried to stay calm and instead, you said:

“Well, it’s amazing seriously. I mean, I wasn’t expecting to go on a script reading, you know, so it’s totally fine.”

“If you behave, you could come more than once, he suggested. I’ll be assisting to most of the filming, you know, to modify the script if there’s a need to.”

“That’d be amazing! I’ll behave, don’t worry!”

“Then, I’ll see you Friday”, he concluded, smiling.

You said goodbye before leaving. You texted your best friend, still not believing you were going to meet Tom Holland on Friday! How could that even be possible? Your best friend answered you and she was legit more excited than you were.

The week was long until Friday, but it finally came. Your best friend helped you to dress as cute as possible and she made your hair. You put on some make up, but not too much. You had never been a fan of it. You had to get to the script reading by one in the afternoon, but since you were way too stressed, you got there early. You entered the studio and looked around. You had no idea where you were supposed to go. You saw a sign on the wall indicating the reading would be held in an office on the corridor at your right and you started walking in that direction. You were so excited about meeting Tom and Zendaya (especially Tom) and, when you heard the door open, you turned around, hoping it was one of them. That’s when you were stopped by two hands on your shoulders. You weren’t expecting that and you almost yelled but then you saw who it was. Tom.

“Look at where you’re going, darling”, he said smiling.

Your heart had never beaten that fast. You stared at him, not believing he was there. And his hands were on your shoulders. You looked at one of them and he quickly put them away.

You looked back at his face and you could see his cheeks had turned red.

“Uhm, well sorry I didn’t mean, you know, I thought that…” you stuttered.

“Wait, don’t worry, it’s fine, totally”, he said, shyly.

You looked at his beautiful brown eyes, not believing he was standing in front of you.

“Well, uhm, I guess I can ask you where, well, the script reading is being held?” you asked.

You felt your cheeks burning and you hoped you didn’t look as stupid as you sounded.

“Yeah, of course, yeah, he answered, a smile forming on his lips. I guess you’re Brown’s assistant, Y/N.”

You nodded your head, your heart skipping like a hundred beats when he said your name.

“Well, I’m not his assistant, I am… I’m just his student, you stuttered. He’s my acting coach.”

“Oh, okay, nice!” he exclaimed.

He scratched his neck, seeming really embarrassed. He was definitely cuter in real life than he seemed on screen. And even more good looking. You both just stood there, looking at each other. Why was he looking at you that way? It was sending shivers down your spine.

“So, where’s the reading’s office?” you finally asked when you felt it was becoming a bit too awkward.

You realized you hadn’t stuttered this time and you were glad. You didn’t want to seem stupid in front of your biggest crush.

“Yeah, right, follow me!” he said.

You followed him along the corridor and your arm brushed against his when you stepped aside to let someone who was walking the other way pass. It felt as if you had been struck by lightning and you almost forgot to breathe for the next ten seconds.

You entered the office and you saw everyone was already there. They all raised their heads at you and you saw your coach’s eyes going from Tom to you and then back to Tom and you couldn’t help but to blush again.

“Take a seat, he indicated. Y/N, come here.”

He had saved you a seat next to him and you sat down beside him. Tom sat on the other side of the table, right in front of you. It was going to be really hard not to look at something else than him.

“I know we’re supposed to begin at one but since everyone’s here, let’s begin”, Brown said.

And then they started reading the first scene. You were so excited to be able to hear this before anybody else and you couldn’t help but to smile. You had never expected your life to take such an awesome turn with a single acting class.

Your coach stopped the three actors from time to time, suggesting some better intonations, changing the lines if he felt it was necessary and each time, Tom raised his eyes from his script and looked at you. Each time, your eyes met his and you blushed as you looked down at the table. Why was he constantly looking at you? It was already so hard not to start screaming from being in his presence and him looking at you only made it worse. You saw from the corner of your eyes that your coach noticed you and Tom looking at each other, which made you blush even more. And as your eyes looked down at the table, you noticed Tom blushing too.

At some point, your coach suggested to take a break. Everyone agreed. You had to pee, so you got up and exited the office, not once looking at Tom. You walked to the bathroom. When you were washing your hands, you heard a toilet being flushed and Zendaya came out.

“Hey, she saluted you. What’s up?”

“Hey, Zendaya!” you answered, not believing you were now talking to Zendaya.

“Oh, you can call me Z”, she said.

“Hey, Z”, you repeated, which only made her laugh.

You both started to walk back to the office.

“How do you find your first script reading?” she asked.

“It’s really cool! I never expected to ever attend one.”

“Why not? Aren’t you taking an acting class with Brown?”

“Yeah, I do!”

You were surprised your coach had told them about that.

“If you’re as good as he told us you are, I bet you’ll attend a lot of script reading like this one”, she said.

“He told you that?” You recalled that Tom didn’t know it.

“Yeah, just before you arrived with Tom, she explained. And what was up with all that blushing? You both were as red as tomatoes when you arrived.”

She smiled as if she knew something, but you only giggled nervously.

“Oh, I see, she said smirking. You’re crushing on him, aren’t you?”

“What?! No, of course I don’t, I mean well, he’s attractive, but he’s Tom Holland and I’m just me and why the hell am I even telling you that..”

She started to laugh, genuinely this time.

“Don’t worry, you aren’t the first to react like that around him. He’s quite charming, she said. “But I think it’s the first time I see him looking at someone that much. God, he didn’t stop throughout all the reading.”

“Wait, seriously?! you exclaimed. I thought it was only me.”

“No, trust me, it wasn’t.”

Just before you entered the office, she stopped you by the arm.

“You’re cool, we should hang out sometimes”, she suggested.

“Yeah, definitely. I mean, you’re cool too”, you answered, winking at her.

She laughed and then you both returned to your seats. Your gaze met Tom’s one and you smiled at him. He smiled back and you couldn’t help but to think how he looked like a cute little puppy with those eyes. You looked at Zendaya and she winked and you felt your cheeks turning red again.

The rest of the reading was quite quick. Well, it seemed to you that it was, but you soon realized it was already five PM. When it was done, you hesitated between getting up and leaving as fast as you could (your heart deserved to beat normally, didn’t it?) but your coach stopped you.

“Hey, Y/N, how did you like your afternoon?” he asked.

You took a minute to think about what you wanted to say.

“Well, it was completely amazing, you answered. I never imagined to attend to a script reading, especially not on a movie I literally can’t wait to see.”

“Do you have anything to say about the script?”

His question took you aback. You were no expert, what did he expect you to say?

“Well, I don’t really know, it seemed quite good. I guess it’s because the actors are talented.”

“Yeah, they definitely are.” He laughed. “Honestly, after I heard you read those lines last Monday, I couldn’t help but to think that you are going to be one hell of an actress someday. It comes naturally to you and it isn’t something a lot of people can say.”

Wow. You smiled and thanked him, blushing. How could he say that after hearing only a couple of lines from you?

“If you would like, you could assist me with the rest of the script reading, he suggested. This way you can learn about emotions and about getting into character.”

“I would love to” you answered.

He gave you the time of the next meeting, which was literally the next morning, at 10. He left you a copy of the script so you could read it at home and then you left the room. You were surprised to see Tom waiting outside.

“You’re really cute when you blush”, he laughed and as he said that, he himself blushed.

“Are you serious? Look at yourself, Tom!” you replied, punching him on the shoulder as you faked to be offended.

“I don’t blush”, he muttered, crossing his arms.

You laughed and he smiled as he looked at you.

“We’re having a little night out tonight, he began. Do you want to come?”

“You’re inviting me?” was your reply.

You just didn’t believe he wanted you to come.

“Yeah, well, Z suggested I should, you know”, he said looking at the floor, his cheeks turning a bright shade of pink.

Why was he so cute? Your heart just couldn’t handle that.

“Of course, I’ll come”, you answered, causing his gaze to rise to your face, a small smile forming on his lips. “Where are we going?”

“We haven’t decided that yet. Do you know someplace worth going?”

You thought about it for a couple of seconds and then said:

“Yeah, I know a bar downtown.”

“Great! We were going to eat at the hotel where we’re staying, if you wanna come.”

“I’d love to”, you answered, a smile spreading on your lips.

He smiled too. You couldn’t believe what was going on. You literally felt as if you were in a dream and it was one awesome dream. And you were so not prepared for the night that was coming.

So that was the first part. I’ll try writing the second part this week and I’d like for it to be up in a week so yeah, that’s it, hoped you enjoyed it!

I have really bad updates LIKE REALLY BAD like for 2 and half months i’ve been on tumblr i’ve probably only been posting for 1 month and a bit. oh hello!! honestly, i really loved all the characters in spiderman: homecoming. and i’m gonna be so extra right now and like…give mini headcanons for all my babes. so i’m sorry in advance. but like…

we have our decathlon team babies

so like…liz is totally the mama bear. she’s the only senior on the team because she was one of the founding members her junior year and her friends were all too busy focusing on their other extracurriculars and college apps so it was just a bunch of little freshman she’d managed to convince to join the team

and liz did so much research and trained the team and asked her cousin who won a decathlon competition when he was in high school what was helpful for their team

so she takes over and gets mr. harrington to work with the team and she shapes the team into one that could win

and they’re all her babies like let’s be honest

charles and abraham are the twins that are attached at the hip but never stop fighting. they’re the dynamic duo and what abraham doesn’t know, charles does. they’re best friends and they hang out all the time and they obsess over star trek and have a secret rivalry going on with ned and peter because they are the star wars kids. and they’re sworn to hate each other until the end of time. (but also charles and abraham will freak out when the trailer for the last jedi gets released and immediately text the group chat nerds in space to ask peter and ned what they thought.) and abraham has to smack charles on the head when the boy catches his friend staring at sally for too long and charles just mumbles something about how she had something on her shirt and it’s fine.

and then you have sally and cindy. who are just like…so done with the team half the time. like, you’ve got peter, ned, charles, and abraham who just spend all their time obsessing over space themed movies. and flash just constantly berates everyone. michelle is lowkey kinda scary. (they are also lowkey in love with her but shhh.) and liz is like…well, liz is their mom so they love liz. but even mr. harrington is a mess. but sally and cindy make the best of it because they love each other and they love decathlon and they watch a week’s worth of jeopardy together every sunday and they quiz each other in cindy’s mom’s car on the way to school. and they talk about sally’s small, minuscule crush on charles (”really, sally? charles??? he’s a nerd!!” “you think i don’t know that and am also disappointed in myself!!” “oh my goodness but you guys would be so cute who am i kidding”) and they talk about cindy’s very large crush on betty brant (”cindy, she totally checked you out just now!!” “wHAT? omg, how is my hair??”). and they talk about which classes they’re taking so they can be in most of the same classes and they talk about college and their hearts lowkey break when they think about how cindy wants to stay in new york and sally wants to go to the west coast but they’ll be bffs forever so they have hope. (”we have skype, it’ll be okay, yeah?”)

and then you have flash. and flash has got so much shit going on like wtf dude. his parents are super wealthy and try to support him and try to be there but they’re always traveling for work and he’s basically been raised by his nanny. so it’s his nanny who pesters him about this massive crush he has on someone on the decathlon team because each day she picks him up from decathlon practice he’s always raging and sighing and looking sad. and flash just vehemently denies this. because that’s ridiculous, please don’t suggest something like that. but she knows him so well. she’s raised him. she just doesn’t realize that it’s fucking peter parker. peter parker who he terrorizes because he doesn’t want to deal with how he’s feeling. peter parker who has a great ass that he couldn’t help but slap that one time before nationals on the way to the pool. peter parker, who’s a dork and definitely not worthy of flash’s attention but has it anyway. so, maybe he’s not dealing healthily. but he’s got a silent war raging in his head and he doesn’t want to have to tell his parents that he’s bi because once his dad had made an offhand comment and it decided things for him. so flash just…rages and hides behind his wealth and intelligence and snaky comments. because he doesn’t wanna deal with anything

and omg i’ve talked about peter and mj and even ned a bit so i won’t write about them here but i love my babies so much okay???

(maybe they partake in some substances, idk, you never know.) and then her husband’s brother and wife die and they’re taking in peter parker. and may falls in love with this little boy because he’s so…good. and she and ben raise him as their own and try to give him an exciting and happy childhood and encourage his interests in science and his friendship with ned. and then he tells them he’s joining the decathlon team and there’s a field trip and he’s so excited about life. and then he acts all dodgy and then ben dies. and like…may is heartbroken. because ben was her person. and peter’s stopped talking to her. but then he gets the stark internship (which he didn’t tell her about, so rude) and then he’s happy and if he’s happy then she’s happy because she takes every good thing she can these days because they are so far and few between. so she takes every little piece of happiness she can find in life. like talking to mr. delmar and chatting with his daughter she’s she in the shop. like the woman who sells flowers on the corner on her way to work. like the cute couple that works at the supermarket by the apartment who give her recipes like ones for walnut date bread. and even like tony stark, who for whatever reason has become peter’s mentor of sorts and who makes him happy. and if someone makes her nephew happy, they make her happy

and dad!tony. who gives his spider son anything he wants and invites him upstate every so often so he can train with the avengers and learn to control his powers. because even if he isn’t going to be an avenger, he’s still going to be your friendly neighborhood spiderman. and he throws peter parker a birthday party in the summer at a fancy restaurant he’s bought out for the night. and all of peter’s little high school friends come and tony’s happy to give this to peter because the kid just needs to be a kid and needs to be happy. and don’t think tony doesn’t notice the way peter’s eyes follow that girl michelle all night. the girl who’s also asking him all these questions about the sokovia accords and his decision to move upstate and how he almost let a bunch of avenger and alien tech get stolen and about wakanda and if he’s ever been. and tony just wishes peter good luck at the end of the night and smiles because the boy is so confused. (if peter doesn’t realize it yet, oh goodness, good luck to this boy, honestly.) and tony pulls some strings to make sure that peter gets into mit and then finds out that he didn’t even need to because peter’s already a great candidate. and when he helps peter move into his dorm and sees michelle there, who just so happens to go to harvard down the block, well, peter just smiles and wishes peter good luck again

happy hogan disappointed me and doesn’t get to have a whole paragraph. but he can REDEEM HIMSELF later on because peter is a smol bean and needs protection and happy starts answering his calls and listening to his voicemails. and maybe happy laughs occasionally at the lame jokes peter makes, but that’s bESIDE THE POINT

aaron davis exists in mcu and mentioned his nephew MILES MORALES. like, dude, idek what they’re gonna do with miles morales but i am soooo hype. idek. i am just so excited. bc donald glover was inspired as aaron davis. (“i like bread!) he was such a cool character and i wanna know if he becomes the prowler. and i wanna see him with his family and talking to his little nephew about how he met spiderman twice and he was like…a chill dude and he’s doing his part to keep their home safe. and miles morales is probably like…the biggest fan of spiderman and dresses up as him for halloween and then one day he gets bitten by this crazy huge spider while visiting his favorite uncle aaron and he starts developing superpowers? like omg this is his greatest dream come true? and then he starts going out in hopes of finding spiderman so he can team up with the dude that once saved his uncle. and then one day he’s trying to stop a mugging and spiderman comes and is just like…”what??” so they stop the muggers and then they go to a rooftop and spiderman is super confused like, “what? you have my powers?? how did this happen?” and miles is just like, “omg! you’re the spiderman! you’re my hero! omg! hi, i just want to help!!” and then maybe we get an older and younger brother dynamic between the two? idk i’m just excited to see what happens because they have to put miles morales in mcu. it’s decided

also i don’t think she’s gonna be in mcu but i love my baby gwen stacy. my smart beautiful dorky bean gwen. and i love when she’s put into fics. and she was put into this fic as liz allan’s love interest and it was inspired and i fell in love. so. yes. #putgweninfic2k17

Oh man, this is such a loaded question anon, you don’t even know - my list of favorite blogs is so long, and I have lots of different ones, and I don’t know how to narrow it down? The categories of blogs are going to be kind of weird, and some will have descriptions and some won’t so just get ready (also be advised that they are in no particular order and that they are not in order of how much I love them because that would be unfair as I love them all in varying amounts for different and many reasons) :

The Squadre - first and foremost, for reasons I talk about often, I love @highlady-casandra @miladyaelin and @shortie-stories so so so much!! If you check my sassacas tag, you’ll see a lot of love for these ladies - the first two of which are wonderful SJM blogs if you’re about that life :)

@frankiefasthands - is one of my oldest and best friends in “real life” (we’ve now known each other for like 11 years, which is kind of insane?) and her blog is always cool, though most of my reblogs from her go to my personal blog, @they-did-the-do

The Hannahs - so these guys are all together because they’re all named Hannah, but that’s pretty much the only similarity between the three of them lol@propshophannah is the SJMaas Hannah, and an amazing writer, and a great person, and really wonderful all around and I love her and her blog so so much - probably my favorite SJM blog, if I had to pick one. But also, if you need life advice, or have a sex ed question that you’re really uncomfortable asking anyone else, she’s probably already answered it, or will happily answer it if you send her an ask, because she’s just the best, and just really positive, oh man, just so wonderful@ignitesthestars (also known as New Zealand Hannah, lol) is also a really great Hannah - her blog is also really wonderful, really happy, really feminist, just generally a good place, always makes me smile :) She’s got AMAZING fic, always my go-to recommendation for people if you’re looking for tgt or soc or pjo fic (or star wars fic, but I’m not personally on that train, but Hannah’s basically the conductor, so), and I just love her so much honestly - her fic is breathtaking, she’s honestly a queen, I lack the words to express it, but oh man she’s great@ananbeth is another FANTASTIC Hannah, and I love her very very much. She’s a fantastic writer, and she’s the reason I’m into Skam (which I recommend to everyone so much, and one of my fave pjo writers, and I just appreciate her a lot. She’s also co-author of the Wimbledon AU (one of my favorite fics of all time), the coming soon “call me percy” AU (which I’m already super invested in), and the coming not as soon Devil Wears Prada AU (which I’m also super excited for). She’s half of an amazing dynamic duo that I adore so much.

The Sophiis - they’re actually the same person, but I follow two of her blogs and love them both for different reasons, so I’m tagging both and highly recommend both; she is also the other half to the above Hannah’s dynamic duo@blackjacktheboss is Sophii’s pjo blog and is honestly a blessing tbh - she’s the queen of AUs and headcanons, and I have literally scrolled through her tags for hours I love her so much omg, she’s captain of the S.S. Tratie and her Ichor Group AU is what I live for and any time her and Hannah play tag, or generally @ each other or write anything, I just cry (any time Sophii writes with anyone, honestly, except Dan, because their angst stresses me out so much - actually that makes me cry too? so yeah any time she writes with anyone I cry)@furbyhater is Sophii’s other blog and it’s basically all sorts of wonderful happy things that make me laugh, and is the reason I caught up to Jane the Virgin, but again most of this is reblogged to my personal blog because it’s not very book-ish, but either way I recommend because it will much joy and happiness to your blogThe rest of the PJO fam - so I have this ridiculous like crack headcanon about these guys, and I love them all a lot, and basically they’re my faves and it’s best when you follow all of their blogs and cry over all of their perfectness@son-of-rome is the self-proclaimed lord of angst but he’s secretly a huge softie ssshhhhh and any time he’s involved with anything it’s bound to give you a small heart attack, whether it be because it’s so beautiful, or incredibly sweet retaliation fluff, or heart-wrenching angst, it’s always great, plus he’s generally hilarious and brilliant so basically I love Dan a lot and him and The Wife are the otp 5ever and anyone who ships him with any of the rest of the squad is automatically wrong sorry I don’t make the rules@percyyoulittleshit is a precious marshmallow and I adore her and Mari is the #1 fan and biggest source for all things tlt musical and if you (like me) are still sobbing over the fact that you didn’t get to see it, then Mari will 100% feel those feels too, and generally she’s just really precious and makes my days better, so 10/10 would recommend Mari’s blog@bananannabeth is a ray of sunshine and happiness and all good things basically except for when she writes soul crushing angst to fuel dan’s anger but we don’t talk about that and is responsible for some of my fave fics - including the famous percabeth FWB fic, and one of my favorite renditions of everyone’s fave skater!percy AU, and Ashlee’s generally a precious flower so highly recommend!! (She’s also where a lot of my hp content comes from lol)@greenconverses is just ... I’m not sure how to put Jess into words, but she’s the reason I started reading fanfic in the first place, and is honestly super important to me, and she’s a brilliant writer, and generally super cool, and anything she writes is basically magic, so I love her a lot and everyone should check her outAs far as other generally cool pjo blogs go (this is getting super long so this is just gonna be a list sorry :/) - @riptidescap @shanlightyear @suchastart @burdge @lesbabeths @demidorks @cindersart @rongasm @romanitas @flyingcrowbar and so many others are so so so so wonderful!!!! The authors - I follow a lot of authors on here, and that’s always really cool! Some good ones include @sabaatahir @vaveyard @stdennard and @lbardugo, as well as @worldofsarahjmaas which is not actually run by Sarah but is where all new Sarah info comes from. Sarah and Sooz also started a super amazing cool not published anywhere else story together at @thestarkillerscycle, which is super duper good, though not finished, but I still recommend itSPEAKING OF LEIGH BARDUGO!!! - I get notifications for exactly 4 Leigh Bardugo blogs (including Leigh herself, and the previously mentioned Hannah) not because I don’t love her books (I do, lots and lots) but because her fandom generally aggravates me lol so I like casually scrolling past them on my dash, but I don’t want to be notified every time they post. The two big blogs I obsessively check are @zoyalina and @savagekaz both of whom are really on top of edits and fics and such, and Cassie in particular is really strongly invested in tgt, so if you’re about the Leigh Bardugo life, her blog is 100% the place to be. She has also just started reading PJO, so a lot of wonderful edits are coming from her on that end, and it’s absolutely magical.

Okay I think that’s all I can think of off of the top of my head without scrolling through notes and my blog and who I’m following? I’m actually really impressed with myself for remembering this many lol. If I’ve forgotten anyone, I’m so so so sorry!!!!!!!
