Some headcanons abt the detectives bc I'm bored.

(disclaimer: i have not read the comic and don't intend to so if there are any OG bodies stans that know canon facts which dispute any of these headcanons, I want to note that I am only talking about the show here, not the book)

Karl:

Definitely a bi disaster. He has a preference for women, but he's very aware of his attraction to men as well and doesn't see anything wrong with it.

Secretly has a massive sweet tooth, but it doesn't fit his cool-guy vibe so nobody knows about it

If he could wear fishnets and multiple piercings, he would.

He has never liked reading. It isn't his thing, at all - he's always been a very modern person and movies are just so much better. He avoids paperwork like the plague and every time a case requires a lot of reading he considers giving up and cold-casing it just so he can skip the boring research.

If he was ever transported to 2023, he would despise most of it. Mostly the no-smoking rules. But one thing he would like is the rom-coms and the reality tv shows - specifically the awful ones. He likes laughing at people.

Shahara:

Judging by the colorful middle-school-art-teacher outfit vibes, she was very into art - specifically floral impressionistic styles - but had to drop it when she became a mother and a cop. Just didn't have the time

Has been to every pride parade she ever had time for. Probably unlabeled and no gender preference

Was a massive rebel as a teenager. Snuck out to house parties, drank underage, probably faked an ID once or twice. Or three times.

Hates crime mystery novels - not because they're bad, just because she's good enough at her job to be able to easily nitpick the plotholes and immediately guess the killer.

If bodies was a show in her world, she would be a stan. Like she'd have made a whole fan acc and everything.

Alfred:

If he could wear piercings, he definitely would. Not many. He's not that extravagant. But he'd probably have a couple earlobe piercings and he'd usually wear studs or very small hoops, mostly in silver or bronze.

stole his mum's dress as a kid once when she wasn't home. He liked it, but when she found out she was furious and he never did it again.

I think he had a decent relationship with his father at first, but as he grew older and continued to suck at lying his parents Figured Things Out the relationship sort of dwindled. They don't speak now. There was no dramatic moment, but eventually the periods of silence grew longer until they never stopped.

He's very interested in fashion. Goes out of his way to keep up with trends and so on.

Work comes first for him because even though he loves Charlotte and Polly with all his heart, it becomes difficult to pretend around them all the time, and a good case is also good escapism.

During his time deducing The Shake, he accidentally stumbled along a different Shake which meant something else entirely and it all got rather embarrassing from there.

Iris:

had an emo phase, which heavy quotations around 'phase'. The fashion style changed, obviously, but she's still emo in spirit. We all know it.

She probably played the cruellest pranks on Alby known to man. To be fair, Alby fought back just as hard - especially after that one time that Iris accidentally spilled water on his new fancy tech during a prank gone wrong when they were teenagers. THAT did not end well for her and there were definitely a shitton of slugs involved or something equally disgusting

Hates sweets. or sugar in general. Shes a fan of bitter, strong things. Like vodka, probably. Or that 'six-shots-of-espresso-nothing-else' monstrosity Crowley ordered in good omens

Tried to hit on Lorna a couple times early on and when Lorna remained totally oblivious she gave up.

Was really into true-crime stuff as a teenager, but nothing involving terrorists. Ever. For obvious reasons.

She saw Mannix as a sort of father figure for a breif period of time, which is part of the reason she was so loyal to him. Immediately after the incident at the throat in episode 5, she turned her parental figure attention to Shahara.

Summary: You definitely did not expect to meet your soulmate during your exam, let alone see him hurt himself and hurt you as well.

You were finally here. Standing in front of U.A., the school you have always dreamed of attending. The path to being a hero seems clearer and brighter. You already took the written test so you were there to take the practical test.

You were walking towards the school when you saw a boy who looked like he tripped and was about to fall. You used your quirk on him which was telekinesis to stop him from falling for you and to start floating.

He looked really confused as to why he was floating so you went to him to explain the situation.

“Are you okay?” You asked him still using your quirk on him. “It’s my quirk. Sorry for stopping you, but it’s bad omen to trip and fall.” You stopped using your quirk and helped him to make sure he was stable. “This sure is nerve-wracking. Good luck to the both of us!” You waved him goodbye without even giving him a chance to reply and went inside.

‘I talked to a girl!’ Midoriya didn’t even realize he was grinning widely.

After Present Mic explained the mechanics to us, we headed to the test site. I was trying to calm myself by doing some meditation.

‘Why’s everyone so confident?! Aren’t they nervous? Ah...they even have equipment to match their quirks.’ Midoriya looked around and saw the same girl that helped him earlier. ‘Ah! It-it’s her! We’re at the same test site. I’ve got to thank her for earlier.’

Suddenly some guy wearing glasses stopped him, “That girl seems to be doing some meditation. Why are you here? Trying to interfere?” the boy grabbed him which caused Midoriya to flinch. Other exam takers felt relieved that they have one less person to worry about. ‘I can’t blame them for thinking that.’

“And begin! What’s wrong?! The test started! RUN! RUN!” Present Mic shouted which caused everyone to start running.

Robots were being destroyed left and right. ‘Sigh...50 points. I need more, I wasn’t able to get the other robots having to help others from getting crushed by robots. But I guess it’s fine as long as they’re safe.’ You looked around for more robots.

‘I’m already behind. Calm down! Calm down! I can do this! I’m meant to do this!’ A one-pointer robot suddenly appeared in front of Midoriya but he wasn’t able to move out of fear. Another examinee took care of the robot, destroyed it and thanked Midoriya. ‘This is bad. This is bad!’

A big thundering noise was heard by everyone. It was caused by a zero-pointer robot, everyone ran away from it and pushed away anyone that was in their way.

“Oww...” You looked for the source of the noise and found it to be a girl who seemed to have fallen and was trapped under some debris. ‘Should I or should I not? I mean what’s the harm?’ you contemplated. ‘F*ck it. Let’s just save her.’ You immediately tried to use your quirk to get her safe and out of the robot’s way but then you saw someone suddenly run past you and towards the robot.

It was the guy from earlier, he was saving the girl from being hurt by the robot. Seeing how he was gonna attack the robot, you used your quirk on the girl to make sure she was able to get out safely. Pain suddenly shot throughout your arm, “OWW!!! AGHH!!” Examinees surrounding you looked horrified and didn’t know what was wrong with you. They were panicking not knowing what to do.

While in pain, you looked up to see if the guy was able to defeat the zero-pointer robot, you saw he was flapping around in the air with one of his arms that looked burnt and broken. Still in pain you used your quirk on him to make sure he landed safely. When he was able to land safely, you stopped using your quirk, exhausted but still relieved.

“Just... one point!!!” Midoriya was desperate but he was still glad that the girl was safe.

“It’s all over!!!” Present Mic announced and you saw how devastated the boy was. You immediately ran to the boy to check up on him. You kneeled down beside him and stared at his hurt arm, yours still hurting. He was passed out, probably from exhaustion of using his quirk.

‘Could he be-no, that-it can’t be-he’s my soulmate?’ Your curiosity made you poke his arm lightly which caused pain to shoot through your hurting arm. ‘No way! He definitely is! This was the guy causing me pain from before!’ You looked around fro help, hoping someone would be able to.

A short old woman, Chiyo Shuzenji, also known as Recovery Girl went beside you looking at the boy.

“Oh my, so your own beloved quirk did this to you. Almost looks as though your body isn’t used to it.” She kissed him to heal any of his injuries which stopped the pain from your arm.

“This one will be fine, how about you, dearie? Are you hurt anywhere?” You realized you were till holding your arm and released it, “Ah! No-no-I’m fine. I’m his soulmate so-” You were flustered not used to admitting it.”Ah, I see. Please take care of him well and make sure he doesn’t hurt himself this bad anymore.” You bowed to her as she went to take care of others that are injured.

You went with the paramedics who brought him to the nurse's room. "Please give this to him when he wakes up and tell him to contact me." You left them with your contact number and went home.

Midoriya was waiting for a letter from U.A., while lifting some weights on one arm, he got shocked by the sudden appearance of his mother holding a letter. He went inside his room while his mother was waiting outside, walking back and forth.

When he opened the letter, a projection of All Might appeared and explained everything he needed to explain. "Even if you pass the written portion...getting zero points on the practical naturally results in failure. However, that is not the end of the story! Please watch the screen!" When Midoriya looked at the screen, he saw the girl he saved talking to Present Mic. "She came right to us after the exam. Why? Just keep watching."

"Um-that curly haired boy with freckles, can you give him some of my points. I heard him say just one point which means he didn't get any points right? At least how many points he lost saving me!”

"You've moved others with your quirk and she is not the only one..." All Might pointed at the screen behind him.

Another girl appeared, 'It's the girl who helped me!' Midoriya continued to watch the screen.

"The green haired boy with freckles...the one who injured his arm while saving the girl...can you give him some of my points. He didn't earn any points right? You can take some of mine, I already passed the written portion and I had about 50 points for the practical, so please give him some of my points." You looked so desperate which caused his heart to clench.

"Unfortunately, we aren't able to do that. But! Don't worry, it will be fine." Present Mic looked sorry for not being able to do what she said.

"Is that so...then-then please tell him to contact me, I left the paramedics with a paper with my number to contact me. Tell him his soulmate is looking for him!" This caused Midoriya to look at the paper on the table beside him. ‘So this is her number...wait! She’s my soulmate?! She probably felt my pain when I got injured...”

All might continued explaining things and rescue points which meant Midoriya still passed! He felt extremely grateful and was full on sobbing. The projection stopped and closed, his mother barged in his room looking at him expectantly.

"I passed! I passed! I also found my soulmate!" His mother looked extremely relieved and happy for him. After calming down, he sat on his bed and was just staring at the piece of paper with numbers on it. 'Should I or should I not? Let's just do it!' He typed the numbers on his phone and waited for it to ring.

When it began to ring, he got startled and was just staring at it nervously. "Hello?" A girl's voice answered. "Uh-hello-uhm-I-uh" Midoriya was just stuttering. "Who is this? Hello?" The girl sounded like she was getting annoyed. "It-it's me! From the entrance exam...you-you said to contact you." Midoriya's voice getting smaller and smaller as he talked.

"Ah! It's you! What the heck took you so long to call me! Do you know how long I waited?! I-I thought you didn't want to meet me..."

"No! I-I didn't know! They just gave me the paper, I didn't know you were my soulmate! Do you...do you wanna meet up?! Let's meet up! Now!"

"Now?! I mean...I guess we can. Where do you want to meet up?"

"Let's meet up at Takoba Park. Would that be alright with you?"

"Yeah...I'm heading out now."

When Midoriya arrived at the park, he saw a girl sitting on the sand. He went closer to her and reached out when he suddenly felt himself floating. He panicked not knowing what do since he was really scared.

"Ah! It's you. Sorry, I didn't know it was you." Midoriya stared back at the girl and felt himself being slowly put down on the sand.

"You-you're my soulmate right? How did you find out? I-I mean I guess during the exam right? Sorry- I-uhm didn't mean to get hurt, I was just trying to save the girl and uh-I should stop-uhm-I-uh-" He stopped babbling when he felt warmth and realized he was being hugged.

"I'm glad you're okay...you're not hurt anymore right? You shouldn't get hurt like that! You should learn to control your quirk more!" Now he was being scolded, he didn't know what he was feeling but he liked it. "I'm okay...thank you for worrying. I-I passed the exam!" He hugged you tighter.

"I'm glad you passed but you should still be careful...should we go somewhere and eat?"

"Okay...but can we stay like this just a bit longer."

"Okay."

“Wait...I don’t know your name and you don’t know mine...”

“Oh right! Mine’s Midoriya Izuku, yours?”

“L/N Y/N.”
