So after the news of the latest impending lockdown I had a good long think about how I want to come out of this at Christmas. During the last one I ate and ate and did very little exercise and slowly gained around half a stone on top of the weight I have gained since having my last baby 4 years ago.
This morning I weighed myself and took photos and measurements. I don’t want to be heavier on the other side of this thing, I’m not happy being this shape.
Okay so I’m never going to be a size zero but that’s not my aim. I’d like to be a 28 inch waist which after growing 5 kids in my belly isn’t going to be easy! I’m starting at almost 35 inches and that’s when I’m holding proper posture. This is why is also measure my belly when I’m standing right and tall and also when I let it all hang out. It disgusts me in all honesty, but that’s what I’m here for, right?!
Day one.
I dropped the kids off at school and since it’s my day off I put on an absolute beginners HIIT workout from Joe Wicks. I used to be a lot fitter than I am now so I figured it’s best to start again and see how I feel. It felt good until I pulled something at the back of my thigh. So I stopped immediately.
I guess I’ll just go for a walk for the next few days and wait until that heals. Then I’ll need to warm up better next time. Silver lining - it drives it home just how much I need this.

Sunday: day of recharge. Day of cleaning. Day of preparing for the new week. Kicking off a fresh week of working on fitness goals.
