I'm a male alien INFJ who descended in this mortal realm in the year of 1998. I have a little bit of writing experience, though I wouldn't call it a proper hobby...

After the idea floated around my mind for a while now, I decided to give a try to writing headcanons/short fics, specifically for Genshin Impact (eventually Honkai Star Rail later), with a focus on comfort/fluff.

I got inspired to do this after seeing how often I would turn to comfort or fluff content on tumblr, as a way to cope with the void of loneliness (sometimes overthinking too). As such, why not add my own contribution... as long as it can, hopefully, provide some relief to one person out there.

I'm not familiar with everything regarding LGBT+ and the autism spectrum (I'm not against writing about them though, it's just that it will be a bit more difficult, and will require some research on my side)

I may not accept every request I receive (I'm no professional writer; plus everything is done for free, during my free time)

I plan to add a link to ambient music to listen to, for immersion's sake (it may be emotional on purpose, at times)

Headcanons are called headcanons for a reason; it's fine if you don't agree with mine, but that doesn't allow you to consider yours as superior/the only one 😉

SAGAU Reader (GN) x Tighnari

Hey. So. I know I ghosted this account for like a year, but guess what, I'm inspired today. Hope this is okay, I wrote it while very sleep-deprived

Contains - you kinda being an awful person and discarding people as you please, tighnari becoming slowly more devoted and obsessive over you as it goes on, slight gore, neuvillette replacing tighnari at the end, this is incredibly specific to my experience of having tighnari in game and is based around if he had feelings regarding that

Tighnari was beginning to hate Gandharva Ville.

If he had been told that even one year ago, he would have laughed, unable to believe that the place he called home could cause him such … disdain.

But that was before you.

He had known, of course, about your arrival in Teyvat. Everyone did, it was all they could talk about for months on end. Whispers travelled about the vision holders who were called by the stars, who felt compelled to follow you to the ends of the earth. But that was of no concern to Tighnari. You had never stepped foot into Sumeru, had never even called the holder of a Dendro vision to follow you.

He adored you, as any loyal subject would, but the idea of leaving his home didn’t really appeal to him. Tighnari was content with worshipping from afar.

At least, that’s what he thought.

It was inevitable, thinking back on it, that you would come to Sumeru. There are only so many nations and the scholars at the Akademiya were becoming restless at your apparent lack of interest in visiting their beloved nation.

Tighnari had watched curiously when you first arrived in Gandharva Ville, with 4 devotees at your beck and call. He found, looking back, that he could barely recall who you had favoured at that point in time, who was granted the privilege of protecting you. Perhaps it was that gentleman from Mondstadt, with the flaming red hair and blood-coated blade? Or the Tianquan of Liyue, with her endless supplies of Mora merely a snap of the finger away? It didn’t particularly matter. They were not in your favour now.

He remembered how Collei had wept with joy when you named her as your first devotee from Sumeru. She was discarded quickly enough by you, but the joy that privilege had ignited within her still seemed to linger, even now. When you embraced Collei that day, her tears staining your silken shirt, he had met your eyes for the first time.

Tighnari wasn’t really certain what he would see in your eyes. Benevolence, godliness, serenity?

Greed was not what he expected.

The way you eyed him, gaze flicking to his vision, his ears, his tail. You stared at him, the way a child would stare at a new toy, and you smiled.

Tighnari really shouldn’t have been surprised when you called him to serve you.

The golden stars falling from the sky, the sudden weakness that overcame his body, the portal you had pulled him through. It had seemed unreal, like a nightmare he hoped he would wake from soon.

The weakness had faded as you gave him odd gifts and trinkets, flowers and gemstones, smiling giddily as you told him about how excited you were to have him join your team. With his final gift strapped to his back, an intricate bow that more closely resembled a harp than a weapon, you took him to meet his new companions.

He was grateful to have Nahida alongside him, a small taste of home, even when he travelled behind you on foreign soil. The Mondstadt girl, Fischl, was strange, but he could not deny her usefulness in battle, especially when she called upon that unsettling bird of hers. And Zhongli was … quiet. He did not speak much to Tighnari, or Nahida, or Fischl. Fischl mentioned once that he was one of your very first devotees and he had never left your side since that day.

He had seen many subjects lose favour with you, but like the rock he commanded, he stayed, unchanging.

Tighnari was beginning to wish that he too, could be like rock.

He had followed you across nations, into other dimensions, where the sky stretched for an eternity and the ground fell off into endless darkness. He had slayed countless enemies, stained his hands with blood a thousand times, and never once complained. When he was granted the time to return to Gandharva Ville, he found it … dull. His duties had been given to someone else, so his hours were spent recounting stories of you to engrossed onlookers. He would describe the most insignificant details about you as he stared into the distance and prayed that you would call him back soon.

He had given everything in service for you.

And yet…

You stared up at the entrance to a ‘domain’ as you called them, and hummed to yourself, staring off at nothing.

“We’ll need a Hydro,” you murmured to no one in particular, before turning around.

“Tighnari, why don’t you go rest for a while?”

You flicked your hand and the Iudex of Fontaine stepped through a tear in the fabric of the world, clutching that book you had given him, the one with the blue, watery pages, the one that looked MADE for him. That’s the words you said when you gave it to him.

“Oh, it looks made for you, Neuvi! I’m so glad I got it!”

Tighnari had wanted to rip the fur from his ears, the skin from his flesh, when you smiled at the Iudex, presenting him with the book. Tighnari had clutched his mis-matched bow so hard one of the strings broke with a musical twang. You hadn’t even spared him a second glance.

And now, as you ripped open another seam of reality, revealing Gandharva Ville to him, your smile was not quite as bright as it once was. You ushered him towards the tear, murmuring one last farewell as you did so.

“Go take a break, Tighnari. I’m sure you’re missing home. Don’t worry, Neuvillette will keep me safe!”

In that moment, as you said that, he’d never been quite so sure of anything.

Tighnari was beginning to hate Gandharva Ville.

So I read through your Q&As about SAGAU x BSD, and I had another question: how exactly do you decide if a character hunts the Reader or not? Like, most Imposter!AU fics let the Archons (except Nahida) hunt Reader down. Your post about Neuvillette makes me wonder if the same happens to other naturally-attuned characters like Kazuha or Venti (He is literally a wind spirit). Please take no offense in this ask. I'm just confused about most Imposter!AU world-building :C.

How do I decide, what characters hunts Reader?

I just think about GI Character, and if it will be 'understandable', why they are chasing after Reader on Fake Creator's orders.

Fake Creator, in this crossover, are a villain with good reputation. They aren't a tyrant, they are a good ruler. They don't give people any reason to fear them or start a coop.

And Fake Creator have power and respect.

Even Fontaine, right now, the only nation, that is somewhat against Fake Creator, won't say a word against them.

Archons were 'raised' to love and worship Creator. Archons have 'raised' their nations to love Creator.

But, some people, can't follow Fake Creator blindly.

They either have a feeling, that Fake Creator are a fake (Alice, Albedo, Nahida, Aranaras, Alhaitham, Kaveh, Melusines, Wanderer...), understand, that Reader are innocent and don't try to commit a crime (Jeht, Fischl, Bennett, Razor, Yoimiya...) or outright horrified of Fake's orders (Diona, Barbara, Yaoyao, Baizhu, Qiqi, Itto and his gang, Navia and Spina di Rosula...). Furina hates Fake Creator.

Fake Creator still have many supporters.

About Kazuha and Venti.

First, a little bit of lore.

As I mentioned here, Fake Creator stole powers from previous reincarnations' belongings, artifacts and bones. And it affected the powers, they absorbed.

Any powers, that were absorbed from belongings, artifacts, clothes and other similar things are 'pure'. It feels like it always belonged to Fake Creator. People will feel warm and calm near it. It's the power of First Creator. The way it meant to be. And, if Reader spent more time in Teyvat, their powers would fell the same way.

The powers, that were absorbed from bones and remains of previous reincarnations' are 'tainted'. It makes people feel uneasy, cautious and nervous.

Tainted Powers are still First Creator's powers, they can be used to create. But, even looking at them makes people horrified.

Yet, people can get used to them.

There is also one difference between two kinds of powers. A very important one.

Pure Powers are limited and can't be 'refiled'.

Tainted Powers are like glue. They will never truly be gone. They will stick with a person forever.

Fake Creator have enough pure power to mask tainted power. But, not enough to mask it forever.

Besides, Fake Creator must use their powers daily, to make people believe in them.

Fake Creator knew, that they would lose some followers, if they lose all of their pure powers.

So, they recreate a 'frog and boiling water' scenario.

Fake Creator, after destroying Celestia, slowly use more and more tainted powers. Making everyone getting used to them.

So, Venti and Kazuha slowly stopped seeing Creator's powers as something bad. They get used to tainted powers too much. When they saw Reader for the first time and felt echoes of pure powers from them, Kazuha and Venti froze in place. They don't understand, what it was.

Their belief in Creator crumbled.

Kazuha start thinking about his encounter with Reader. And Kazuha realized, how horrible and horrifying Fake Creator's presence felt. Now Kazuha became Reader's supporter.

Venti came to the same conclusion.

But, he is an Archon. And Fake Creator have Mondstadt people near them.

Fake Creator can call Venti a traitor and lock him. Or Fake Creator can get rid of Mondstadt.

Venti had to obey. He felt terrible, when Reader were captured. After Reader disappeared, Venti felt happiness. Yet, he prayed every day to be punished for his crimes.

Venti mopped around, until Mitchell gave him a piece of her mind and make him help in BSD Cast's revenge.

Some of these are just personal preferences for what I feel comfortable with. I ask of you that you please don't ask NSFW stuff for characters that I don't feel comfortable writing for.

If a certain character is not mentioned at all, than that just means that I DON'T write for them.

I DO feel comfortable writing heavier topics like self harm, depression, suicide, death and stuff like that, as long as it is not glorified or romanticised. Stuff like that should always be taken seriously, never be taken lightly, made fun of or be glorified. That is just wrong.

What I don't write, ever:

Obviously illegal stuff like Incest and rape, etc.

I won't write for children characters (i.e Klee, Diona,...), especially not explicit stuff. If anyone were to ask something like that off me, that person will be immediatly blocked.

Also, I won't write anything including pregnancy or stuff with kids, since I don't feel comfortable with these topics, at all.

The whole "x is just a short adult" thing is so ridiculous sometimes bc like. Speaking as an adult that could easily be mistaken for a high schooler, it's really obvious when people are just reaching for a reason to feel better about shipping something. And I don't think it's that hard to distinguish when a character is meant to be a young looking adult (in most cases) as opposed to a teen if people would stop focusing on ships for a moment.

Take Venti for example. His narrative pretty clearly is about the unveiling of a facade and how his playfulness hides maturity and grief, as opposed to filling the shoes of a predecessor or coming to age/power. He's also on equal footing with other adults such as Jean, Kaeya, and Diluc, and can drink which as you've said is a pretty big marker in genshin if a character is an adult.

Characters like Noelle and Fischl on the other hand I understand being a little confusing. Noelle is clearly an independent but she also is marked immature and often subordinated. Fischl is close to other characters that more obviously read as teens, like Bennett and Razor, and she has 8th grader syndrome, but she's also respected in her job and treated like an equal by characters like Mona who seem to be older.

Still, for characters like Noelle, Fischl, Xiangling, Xinyan, Lyney, and Lynette, Furina, and maybe even Hu Tao, I think it's pretty clear that if they are adults they are freshly adults, like 18/19 maybe 20 at most, and it's a bit off (to put it lightly) to be pairing them off with characters that are in their late 20s at the youngest estimate. Like I'm not willing to die on a hill arguing about whether Xianyun/Yun Jin or Yun Jin/Shenhe is creepy because it'd be reasonable to guess Yun Jin is probably somewhere between Xinyan and Shenhe's age and could be argued either way, but it also doesn't take a genius to guess Zhongli, Ayato, and Neuvillette are older because of how their age is contrasted to Hu Tao, Ayaka, and Furina's.

When you factor in different relationships it makes things a lot clearer. Freminet for example is pretty obviously a teenager, and the twins are older than him but probably not by a huge margin considering their closeness.

I dunno it's just like. Maybe if people stopped worrying about ships for a sec they could analyze characterization and relationships with a lot less bias. And recognize that these relationships are incredibly interesting outside a romantic context and they don't need to be smooching for it to be enjoyed.

Yeah honestly like 😭 i feel like the game gives you plenty enough context to guess the age range of most characters ESPECIALLY if you take into account how they act around each other and what their lifestyle is like. My guess for Fischl specifically is that she's definitely a teen because of her overall demeanor coupled with the fact that she lives with her parents & the fact that she's besties with razor and bennett, so I'd place her in a high schooler age range. In all honesty her dynamic with mona feels a lot like a college aged girl who has a cringe high schooler friend that she hangs out with considering how she tends to act pretty fed up with her theatrics. But yeah in general i agree with pretty much everything you said like i do have some kind of chart in my mind for the age range of each character and it's really not THAT hard to guess when someone is intended to be in a younger teen vs older teen vs short adult age range... Like for example Freminet and Collei are obviously younger teens while Lyney and Lynette are older teens and Wanderer or Amber are short adults
