➤ warnings:yandeee theme, platonic relationships, mentioned deaths, the blood curse, mentioned abuse.
➤ request by @cuzwhynottsworld hi hi! LOVE LOVE LOOOOVE YOUR WORK! I was wondering if you could do a yandere platonic my in-laws are obsessed with me with a female child reader? Like say that reader sells flowers to get money and encounters each of the family members in town one by one, and they all take a liking to her, and then they find out she’s an orphan in a bad orphanage and so they decide to adopt her, being careful about the curse and such. Uhh you can choose how it ends! Also stay happy and healthy <3333
➤ a/n: thank you, thank you! I’m really happy with your words girl ;) and I really like writing this one, it’s been a while since I wrote a child! Reader. from now on, I will tag all the new posts with the reader’s gender in order to make things easier to find.

➤ as the streets are getting full due the summer, selphius who is looking forward to buy a gift from his classmate. he enjoys the sunny day, a little girl approach him as she holds a small basket of flowers and asking if he wishes to buy a bouquet, that little girl is you.
➤ with a cute face and sweet personality of your, Selphius brought the entire basket from you and that made you gain a lot of gold coins that day. he was quite happy to see your smiling so brightly. He told both terdeo and pereshati about it, both adult were happy to see the boy enthusiastic about it.
➤ a few days later, pereshati went to the capital to see her friends and unexpectedly, she met you. this time, your cheeks were red due to the bright sunlight hitting your skin. the pink haired brought you a glass of milk and a few sweeties from a bakery nearby.
➤ the two of you talk for a while, pereshati learned a few things about you. both of your parents died in a carriage accident and now, you live at an orphanage in the edge of the capital alongside others children, so you sell the flowers in order to gain money to move out when you grown older.
➤ she is impressed by how mature you are compared to others children in your age, yet she can sense something off this whole story. once home, she told it to terdeo about it, asking if he could do a little research in the orphanage’s background, after all, no children should be working like you are.
➤ the duke did a few background check on the orphanage and well, he wasn’t impressed by what he found. turn out that place not only abuse the children who didn’t made enough money, but sold them by the sole purpose of money. that made him rage and of course, the orphanage was close and the children were sent to better places to live, with the exception of you.
➤ Terdeo decided to adopted you into the family. since selphius enjoys being around you, the man thought that would be great to have another children since islet left for the capital. he loves seeing you act like a real child alongside your new brother. pereshati is relieved that you didn’t reject the idea of joining their family, she likes having you around as another member that doesn’t have the curse.
➤ speaking of the curse, no one dare to tell you about it. maybe one day, you will find out by the worst way or they will tell you, but for now, the family want to keep your mind busy with studies and toys.
➤ unfortunately, the news of the lapireon adopting a girl from an orphanage quickly spread all over the nation. most nobles hate the fact that a little girl from nowhere become part of high society, especially one that enjoy dirtying herself with mud and flowers. there was a few attempts to bully you at events, of course, many children guided by their parents’ words tried to hurt you in many ways, yet you manage to befriend them. however, selphius didn’t like that.
➤ he is your brother. your best friend and only friend. selphius doesn’t want to expose you to the world (too dangerous!), but his pleadings go unheard by his parents and family. even though, they all agree with him, the lapireon fear that if they lock you inside their territory, you will become a prisoner just like the orphanage you once lived.
➤ this new life is easier to you, of course there will moments that will hurt you, they can’t stop those things from happening. however many people know better than messing up with the new member of the lapireon.

Facts & Trivia || Misaki Yata
The following is part of a series of posts made by me. The information listed is official canon provided by GoRa. Sources will go from the anime, to mangas and novels as well as official short stories. These are NOT fanmade headcanons. The purpose of these posts is to provide useful information for fans as well as roleplayers looking for confirmed lore for their muses. Please do not reply to argue with me about what you read here. I did not come up with this stuff myself. GoRa did. I’ll come back to edit these as I find more info.
Tumblr media
Born on July 20, 1993 (The same year as Daichi Yamata, Tōru Hieda, Andy Dōmyōji and Saruhiko Fushimi).
Member of Homra since January/February 2009, when he was 15 years old alongside Saruhiko Fushimi.
His Homra insignia is on the left collarbone like Saruhiko Fushimi’s. Yata and Fushimi are remarkably known as the first and only case in which two clansmen received the mark on the same spot. Yata took great pride in this and will show it off often. He hates that Fushimi marred his own.
His weapons of choice are his fists and legs that Yata uses with expert street fighting moves and acrobatics. He also brandishes blunt weapons such as a baseball bat and a pole, and can control his aura to make his skateboard go faster as well as use it as a weapon itself.
He wears a smartwatch that he uses instead of a PDA. It has all the functions of a mobile phone, including camera and holographic screen as well as a flashlight. It was gifted to him by Fushimi, who personally customized it for him when they were roommates.
Yata called himself Yatagarasu to sound cooler as a Homra member. Yatagarasu is a crow spirit with three legs in Japanese folklore.
Yata is the vanguard of Homra. This means he adopts an all-out direct offense tactic, charging at the enemy on the front without any regard for his own safety. This used to make his duo with Saruhiko almost invincible as his friend would watch his back and finish off the enemy. But after they split up, this strategy doesn’t work as well and Yata often puts his own life at risk with it.
He was born with a different (and unknown) last name. His last name became “Yata” only once his mother remarried (In Japan children of remarried women get their new stepfather’s last name). Misaki was 6 years old at the time.
He hates to be called by his first name because it’s girly. The only people allowed to use it without getting yelled at are his family, Anna, and Saruhiko back when they were friends. Saruhiko still calls him Misaki out of habit, sometimes just to annoy him.
During his earliest childhood he was best friend with Rikio Kamamoto, dragging him around in all kinds of dangerous explorations. Departing from him at 6 years old, he reunites with Rikio once he joins Homra nine years later.
He always displayed a kind of tough, abusive friendship with Kamamoto, calling him names because of his weight and yelling at him when Rikio showed weakness by crying. Even now he doesn’t hesitate to fight him or physically hit him when in an argument.
Though he was born in Shizume City, he moved to live elsewhere at 6 with his mother when she remarried. When he was 12 his family moved in Chiyoda City (Saruhiko and Scepter 4’s district) and was able to go visit Shizume City again because it was nearby. At 15 years of age he returned to live in Shizume City when he moved in with Fushimi.
He attended Himuka Middle School in Chiyoda City, where he met and befriended Fushimi. Both of them dropped out at the end of their third year.
Though he was often bullied, Yata was kind of a bully himself at school, often forcing people into being his friends and scaring them with his fierce and strong personality. This caused the other kids to not really like him much and blacklist him behind his back.
Swears and yells a lot. He’s very manic and violent when he gets worked up and won’t hesitate to give a beating to fellow clansmen too if they anger him (or even if they don’t, in the case of Kamamoto).
He’s very good at baseball and is particularly proud of his straight as a pitcher.
He can use both the skateboard and surf board very skillfully. Even to the point where girls will find him cool, unbeknownst to him. He owns both boards stylized with Homra’s symbol.
His favorite subjects in school were PE and music.
However, seen how bad Yata was at playing Totsuka’s guitar, it’s safe to assume his only musical talent was singing.
He tried to learn to play the guitar from Totsuka.
He likes videogames, which he played a lot with Saruhiko in the past. He often goes to the arcade and has even taught Anna to play FPS games. This shows he might be a bit oblivious to what is appropriate for a kid when it comes to gore and violence.
For his age, he has pretty good housekeeping and cooking skills. However, Kamamoto has described Yata’s cooking as “too manly” for a girl’s birthday.
All animals seem to dislike him for some reason. This includes the horse strain Basashi and a retriever that Fujishima once picked up.
Neko, who also believes to be a cat, shows instinctive hostility towards Yata just like a real cat would.
Yata is actually upset when animals hate him and to bring it up is a sensitive subject.
This seems to be a “mirroring” trait to Fushimi, who instead dislikes animals and yet seems to attract them to himself like a magnet.
Eric Sōlt seems to dislike him (a reference to his dog-like personality), and often mocks him in English. Though Yata’s English is bad, he seems to be able to pick up the insults and gets very annoyed.
He’s very annoyed by how popular Kamamoto gets in the summer when he loses weight. Though, rather than because of jealousy, it might be because when Rikio is surrounded by girls it is impossible for Yata to approach him or hang out with him at ease.
He’s an active member of the Committee of Fattening Up Kamamoto Rikio, going great lengths with his cooking skills to make him gain weight (even to the point where his own living budget will be as low as to force Yata to eat poorly).
Yata appears to get overwhelmingly flustered in the presence of young women, to the point he looks outright terrified and avoids interacting with them. He seems to be okay with little girls or women far older than himself.
Because of his past drama with Saruhiko, Yata holds a personal and violent grudge towards Scepter 4 and anything related to them, reacting with suspicion and hostility towards any of its members.
By far the member who cares about Homra’s honor the most. Yata doesn’t tolerate that anything offensive is said about his King or clan. He also gets furious when his fellow clansmen act in dishonorable ways that could stain the Red Clan’s reputation, and will violently discipline them without any restraint if so.
In general, Yata proves to have great pride and sense of honor overall, refusing to strike at injured people, no matter how bad he hates them.
Despite his problems with Fushimi and how directly he insults him as they fight, Yata also won’t tolerate that anyone else speaks poorly of him. In general, Homra members know to avoid the topic entirely around Yata.
He’s known to not listen all too well to no one, save perhaps Mikoto-san (who however hardly ever tells him anything).
This may be another a mirror personality trait to reflect Fushimi, who instead doesn’t speak out his thoughts (“He never listens vs. He never tells”).
He won’t tolerate being bossed around by any guy save the Homra founders. Yata dislikes when people settle things on their own. Ironically, he is guilty of this fault himself as he often takes decisions and acts without waiting.
Despite his fiery temper, Yata is very nurturing and won’t hesitate to show concern and care for those he’s very close to. Though he may be aggressive about it, especially with Saruhiko.
Yata is tormented by not knowing the exact reasons behind Saruhiko’s betrayal. He’ll ask him several times, only to get mocked as a result.
When he and Saruhiko start arguing, Yata can get tunnel vision and forget about everything else around him, including bullets and grenades.
Though he always swears he’ll beat Saruhiko to death, deep inside Yata has never given up on getting his friend back, and always looks with hope for signs from Saruhiko that they can be comrades again. Because of this he gets even more hurt every time Saruhiko reiterates his betrayal and spite towards Homra.
Yata can be a bit of a crybaby and tear up more easily than most guys.
He’s terrified of ghosts. When he hears about ghost stories or thinks one may be close, Yata gets extremely jittery and manic. However, he strongly denies his fears and will react with nervous violence if accused of this.

Your POV
You woke up in the middle of the night darkness covering your room and what had happened came rushing back vividly. How your talk with Zuko progressed to a kiss, to several kisses to him now lying asleep on the pillow beside you, his bare skin glowing in the dim fire light. He had an arm draped around your waist still and you felt happy at how it felt but also scared. What had you done? You and Zuko had broken past any friendship barriers, there was no going back to normal after this. That thought hurt more than anything, losing Zuko’s friendship scared you to the core and made you think back on how you’d first become friends.
You were six years old and had been brought into the palace to see if you had potential to be one of Princess Azula’s friends. You were older than Azula by two years but all noble born girls around her age were being brought in and as your parents were friends with Ozai you were one of the first. Ursa and Ozai were actually present too not that you noticed or cared. You were too busy playing in the gardens, Azula already had Ty lee by then and they played together nearby but you didn’t seem to care, the instructions your parents had drilled into you gone from your mind the minute you’d seen toys. So you were crouched playing in the grass when someone crashed into you sending your toy flying. You turned around furious and pushed the culprit hard "you knocked my toy!" you shouted. The boy, Zuko, glared at you for pushing him and went to push you back “did not!” he argued. You fought briefly shoving and hitting each other before you barreled Zuko onto the floor with a hard push and brief kick. Zuko gasped from the floor, it had hurt when you pushed him over and he was in shock. Ursa and Ozai had also gasped when you pushed Zuko over and both were not pleased. Ursa was furious someone had dared touch her precious son and Ozai was embarassed how easy you’d beaten Zuko in a fight. Both were angry watching how this would progress and you parents swallowed hoping somehow you’d turn this around, that you’d realise your mistake, apologise to Zuko and help him up. Instead you  glared down at him in the dirt, daring him to make the next move. "It’s not like I meant to!" Zuko muttered but his expression didn’t change. "Well you still did so you should say sorry" you replied matter-of-factly. Zuko stood up dusting mud off his arms "sorry" he said sarcastically and you rolled your eyes "stupid boy" and turned away. Zuko went to walk away but stopped watching how unbothered by him you were. Part of him was angry, none of the other kids had ever yelled at him, they all treated him like...well a prince but you’d pushed him over and embarassed him in front of all his family without a second thought. That part intrigued Zuko, who were you to not care who he was? Zuko claimed that was the reason he asked to play with you that day, because you’d dared to treat him like a normal kid and not a royal. "What are you playing?" Zuko asked edging closer and you looked at him over your shoulder "ball". "Can i play?" Zuko asked carefully as if you’d hit him again. You shrugged unbothered, back then your temper was shortlived, and Zuko joined you. Your parents watched confused as you bonded with the wrong sibling but soon you and Zuko were lost in your own world together, screaming and shrieking as you chased one another, both laughing and smiling, something fire nation children didn’t do often. When you had to go home Zuko ran to his parents to ask if you could come and play again and that was it. Ozai wasn’t too keen you being a girl but Ursa would do anything if Zuko wanted it and so you were brought back the very next day and from then the two of you were inseparable.
You smiled at the memory but it was a sad smile. Not only may you have wrecked everything with Zuko you’d also done something horrible to Mai, just the thought of her you made you feel guilty. Zuko had cheated on her with you. All the times you’d told Mai you weren’t a threat, all the effort you’d gone into befriending her was wasted as you’d gone and slept with Zuko. She didn’t deserve that and your and Zuko’s discovery of mutual affection didn’t justify what you’d done. Zuko shifted in his sleep and his arm around you tightened. "Y/n?" he asked noticing you were awake "you okay?". You nodded staying silent and felt Zuko tense. "Are you sure?" he asked retracting his arm "you’re not regretting this are you?". You heard the worry in Zuko’s voice and shook your head "no...yes...i don’t know" you sighed. Zuko was silent before touching your arm softly "then tell me". You sighed flopping onto your back "we cheated zuko! You cheated of Mai with me! We did that! Mai doesn’t deserve that but we did it to her!". "I know" Zuko said frowning and you carried on "and i know that but still i’m glad it happened" you sighed "and that makes me so angry at myself! How many times did i deny i liked you, told Azula there was nothing wrong with our closeness, acted as if i would never do this and i just did". Zuko frowned "y/n you didn’t know how you felt when you told her all that, you couldn’t have known this would happen, we just got lost in the moment that’s all, we didn’t mean to hurt Mai and i’ll talk to her about it". "You will?" you asked and Zuko nodded "I will, i’ll do the right thing and call it off with her I promise, but last night...y/n last night was the greatest night of my life" he blushed "being with you felt..." he trailed off and you blushed too. You felt that way too. "I know" you told him resting a hand against his face and stroking his burnt cheek. Zuko leant into your hand and kissed it. "I want this" he sighed "i want this with you" he told you "i want you" he told you and you felt the hairs on your arms stand up. "I want you too" you agreed and Zuko leant back in to kiss you. You let him but when it moved onto something more you stopped him. "Zuko" you breathed pushing his chest "no, not until you’ve told Mai, otherwise this isn’t okay". Zuko frowned but nodded "you're right, I have to do the right thing by her and you". You nodded as Zuko moved away from you "i should go then" Zuko told you "so i’m not tempted". You blushed and Zuko smirked "i’ll tell Mai today y/n". You smiled "that’s the right thing to do". "And aften i have?" Zuko asked looking at you suggestively and you smirked knowing what was on his mind. "Not straight after but maybe a week or so after, you know a respecful amount of time and even then we’ll keep it just between us at first but yeah...we'll carry on what we started here" you smiled. Zuko sighed as he finished getting dressed but nodded "okay". He lingered just looking at you before he turned away with great force “I’ll find you once i’ve done it”. You nodded “good luck?”. Zuko smiled staring at you, taking every detail of you in once more before leaving.
You couldn’t sleep after Zuko left. You tried but every time you closed your eyes you’d picture last night with Zuko...everything he did, everything you did, everything you both did and you couldn’t relax. So you decided to just get up and were grateful when finally the morning came. You got on with your day managing to not give away what you’d just done with Zuko and got ready for an evening ball, some show of Ozai’s force before the upcoming eclipse. Zuko hadn’t come to find you all day so you assumed he hadn’t got a chance to tell Mai, or so you thought. On your way into the ballroom someone grabbed your arm and tugged you into side room. When you saw it was Zuko you looked at him expectantly "did you tell her?". Zuko shook his head "actually...my father spoke to me first". You’d almost completely forgotten about Ozai’s announcement to you. You tensed figuring he’d told Zuko you were engaged and waited for Zuko to ask why you didn’t tell him but he didn’t. "Don’t get mad!" he cried and you frowned "what?". "My dad’s asked me to stick with Mai for a while longer". You frowned still confused "what?". "He somehow knew I wanted to break up with her because he came to me this morning and told me I needed to stay with her for now until he closes a deal with her uncle, so not to make any announcements until then". You swallowed at how close Zuko had come to the real meaning behind Ozai’s words. You were so shocked at how you’d managed not to get exposed you just nodded “okay”. "Okay?" Zuko asked shocked and you shook your head "well obviously it’s not okay, using Mai like that, but we'll talk about it later". Zuko nodded and watched you leave the room.
All through the ball Zuko stood beside Mai making you tense and jealous which you knew was ridiculous. You believed Zuko when he said he wanted you, plus you knew Ozai wanted you two to marry, that was a lot of security for any new relationship. Plus Mai and Zuko were the ones actually dating! You were literally the one invading their relationship but still it made you wary, just watching them interact. You wanted Zuko to tell Mai so you and him could start being you, you hated this feeling, it felt so underhanded. Ty lee appeared beside you "what you looking at?" she asked and you snatched your eyes away from Zuko and Mai but she saw. "Ow.." she trailed off "are you okay?". "I’m fine" you snapped and Ty lee raised an eyebrow "really because you looked jealous". You glared and Ty lee shrugged "what i’m just being honest, i’ve never seen you like that especially at Zuko and Mai but that’s what you looked like...y/n you’ve been off all night has something developed?". You looked around and Ty lee noticed "y/n i won’t tell anyone". You raised an eyebrow "why not? If i was you i’d be loyal to Mai and Azula". Ty lee shrugged "i am loyal to them but i’m also my own person...plus you know we’re friends too right?". You frowned in response and Ty lee laughed "ouch!". "No i’m sorry" you sighed "i just always figured you were Azula’s and Mai’s friend never mine, you’re closer to them". Ty lee shrugged "so, i can have more than two friends". You nodded "i suppose" and Ty lee smiled "good, so what’s up with you and Zuko". "Nothing" you swallowed "just him and Mai seem closer". Ty lee nodded "yeah the trip helped...atleast i think". "What do you mean?". "Well they argued...a lot but then Mai disappeared to his room on the final night and in the morning they seemed fine". "Wait, wait, did Mai and Zuko...Mai was gone the whole night?". Ty lee looked down awkwardly but nodded "yeah...i couldn’t help but notice because we shared a room". You bit your lip, not even 24 hours later you and Zuko....
"Was it the first time she and him...do you know?" you asked and Ty lee frowned "why do you want to know?". You debated telling her for a split second before realising that would be a stupid thing to do. "I just had no idea their relationship was so...serious Zuko never gives the impression it is so i’d be suprised if it wasn’t a new development". Ty lee frowned "well that’s not good to hear but i promise i won’t tell Mai" she assured you and you glanced away awkwardly. "But no it’s not new" Ty lee told you suddenly "it happened a few days after Zuko got back to the fire nation". You felt like someone had thrown water over you as you nodded "ow wow that is a shock". Ty lee narrowed her eyes "y/n does that make you...". "It doesn’t make me anything, well maybe angry at Zuko for not telling me, i mean best friends share that stuff!" you said putting on a fake smirk. "Thanks Ty lee for listening" you smiled even though she had done most of the talking. "Any time" Ty lee smiled and she squeezed your shoulder before walking away. Ty lee gone your eyes fell to where Zuko stood with Mai. Zuko had been busier than you’d thought...
Zuko’s POV
Zuko had made a point of trying not to look at you but he couldn’t help seeming to find you. First it when you entered looking amazing in that dress, then it was when you spoke to some old navy general, then when Ty lee chatted to you and now Zuko was watching as some guy stood beside you. He recognised the boy as some highborn man’s son, Zuko couldn’t remeber whose specifically, and watched anxiously as the boy seemed keen to stick beside you. Zuko couldn’t tell if the guy was bothering you but he was certainly bothering Zuko. “What’s got your face all weird like that?” Mai asked and Zuko jumped not realising she was beside him. “Nothing I was just wondering where my sister got to, when you can’t see her is usually when you’re in the most danger” Zuko bluffed. Mai raised an eyebrow “she’s right there Zuko” gesturing to where Azula stood with Ty lee nearby “where she’s been for the past hour”. “Ow” Zuko commented and Mai narrowed her eyes looking at where you stood in full view on the ballroom floor below. “Y/n and Ikem seem to be hitting it off” she commented. “Who?” Zuko asked like he didn’t know exactly who Mai was talking about. “Ikem” Mai replied “you know son of Liang, your families have been allies for years?”. “Ow yeah” Zuko nodded frowning openly at the boy “he’s wasting his time with her, she won’t be interested in someone like him”. “Who is she interested in then?” Mai asked and Zuko avoided Mai’s eye but managed not to blush “i’m not sure, I never met her past partners they were all soldiers in the navy”. “How do you even know that I didn’t and I was right here in the capital all this time”. “I...she...I asked Ty lee” Zuko admitted and Mai frowned “why not just ask y/n herself?”. Zuko felt his face redden dangerously “I did but she wouldn’t tell me” Zuko lied, in reality he’d been too embarassed to ask you, part of him was scared you’d found many people to be with in his banishment, when he’d never thought of any other girl but you. He’d asked Ty lee out of curiosity and got ridiculously jealous just to hear you’d been with two other people before him. The memory made Zuko’s jaw tense and Mai frowned “weird I thought there were no secrets between the two of you”. “Maybe just the one” Zuko replied and felt Mai stiffen. If he was going to keep this a secret he should probably stop staring at you while Mai was next to him. “We should probably circulate the room” Zuko said awkwardly turning away from you and holding an arm out stiffly for Mai. She took it and Zuko lead her purposefully in the opposite direction to you. He’d find a way to get that boy to leave you alone but first he had to play prince.
Your POV
You were saved from some boring fire nation boy who was intent on never leaving your side by a note from Zuko asking you to meet him after the party. You were still angry at him but keen for an escape complied, arriving at his room moments after him. He let you in glancing around in a bad show of pretending not to be paranoid and smiled at you. You ignored his smile and walked over to the window wondering how to bring up what Ty lee had told you. Zuko couldn’t seem to tell anything was wrong, he came up behind you and wrapped his arms around you “what you thinking about?”. “This and that” you said coldly not relaxing into his touch no matter how much you wanted to. Zuko frowned seeing your expression in the reflection of the window. "What’s wrong?" Zuko asked his hands falling away from your shoulders. “Y/n” Zuko said tugging your arm to make you face him when you didn’t reply. You sighed and just decided to come out with it. "I didn’t know you and Mai had been intimate" you said slowly and Zuko tensed letting his arms drop from you fully. "How did you find out?". "I heard" you shrugged "it doesn’t matter how". "Okay i get you feel betrayed that i didn’t tell you before we...but y/n with Mai it was very different and we only did it a couple of times". "When was the last time?" You asked and Zuko swallowed "two weeks ago". You struggled not to smile in disbelief as Zuko told a massive lie right to your face. "So not on the last night of your holiday?" you asked. Zuko paled and you sighed shaking your head. "I only didn’t tell you because of how soon we got together aftwewards! I didn’t want to make you angry". "Well that worked" you retorted and Zuko sighed. "Plus it didn’t matter! By then i was very aware I liked you, you weren’t with us...I was missing you, i knew it wasn’t working with Mai but she offered it as an olive branch so i took it but i didn’t experience it properly, I wasn’t there with Mai...in my head it was with you, I wanted it to be you but i had no idea you liked me, if i did i’d never have touched her". "Why didn’t you tell me though?" You asked "Zuko that makes you and Mai way more serious, especially given how recent it was for you both". "I didn’t want to ruin this" Zuko sighed "this, us..we’re still so new but i don’t want anything to mess it up so i didn’t mention it". You shook your head and Zuko sighed "i didn’t know if you’d mind i mean i know you’ve been with people before me". You heard the tone in Zuko’s voice and spun on him "what? What does that have to do with anything?". "Well I just meant...I knew other people have been with you...I heard about it somehow...but anyway I knew it wasn’t a first time for either of us, if it had been i’d have told you". "Zuko i don’t care about the fact we’ve both had experiences and partners before! I care because less than 24 hours earlier you were with Mai intimately! If i’d have known..". "You’d have stopped it?" Zuko asked and you sighed "i don’t know! Maybe? It would’ve changed things". "Hence why i didn’t tell you" Zuko cried and you sighed "just because you’ve made something easier doesn’t mean you made it better" you snapped "you didn’t tell me about Mai and i don’t feel good about what we did and she still doesn’t know!" you cried. Zuko nodded "i know but my father said now isn’t a good time to break up with her". You rolled your eyes at how Ozai was using you and Mai while Zuko had no idea. "I promise as soon as i can i will tell her" Zuko said "and if my father drags it on i’ll tell her anyway". "How long before you do that?" You asked and Zuko frowned "i don’t know maybe a couple of weeks or months?". When your eyes flared Zuko backed down "okay not that long! Only a few weeks? 2 at most I promise". You still didn’t relax "and in the mean time what buisness as usual?". "Well no more sex" Zuko told you "you’re right i shouldn’t use Mai like that and i don’t want it so i will stop anything she tries, that goes for kisses too". You frowned "i just feel awful still using Mai for whatever deal your dad needs". Zuko nodded "i know but i have to do as he says". Zuko’s tone when he said that was so flat and expresionless it made you look up at him. Zuko was staring at the floor eyes fixed on one spot, he looked so defeated and lost, he almost looked scared and you realised why. The reminder of what happened the last time Zuko disobeyed his father was right there on his face. You felt a wave of sympathy for him, you didn’t want to but you’d always cared for Zuko and how that was hightenned. You sighed and hugged him "i know". Zuko seemed shocked and looked down at you "you’re not mad at me anymore?". "Ow i’m still pissed" you nodded "but i understand...kind of, but if you keep something like this from me again...". "I swear i will not" Zuko promised "i will tell you whatever you want to know...wherever you want to know...however you want to be told..." Zuko smirked and you pushed his incoming face away from you. "Hey none or that, not while you’re still dating Mai, you’re going celebate from her and me". Zuko frowned but saw your face and sighed "yes because it’s the right thing to do y/n". You grinned and ruffled his hair "so you can be trained! Good to know, maybe i can make a boyfriend out of you yet". Zuko blushed but smiled "that’s the goal". You smirked but stopped yourself "don’t get ahead of yourself we’ve got a mess to clean up!". Zuko nodded but smirked “I promise I’ll sort this and in the mean time, best behaviour” he winked and you blushed. “Unless you ask me not to...” Zuko said and you hit his arm away “I’m leaving...”. “Y/n I was joking I only meant this might be just as hard for you as it is for me, it won’t just be me resisting you”. “You sure about that? I have pretty good control” you smirked confidently but Zuko just raised an eyebrow. “I liked you for years and never did anything, you liked me for a mere week before you told me you liked me, kissed me and then had sex with me...and all in the same night”. You swallowed at the bluntness of the facts and Zuko smirked. “That was a one time coincidence” you glared and Zuko laughed “sure...all i’m saying is don’t make your rules too tight”. You rolled your eyes but felt heat rise to your cheeks “i’ll be fine without you”. “Sure” Zuko said eyebrows raised and he flopped onto his bed “I bet you will be”. You watched as he laid back, posture so relaxed and smug...so inviting, he knew this was working. “You’re an ass” you called walking to the door but you were supressing a smile. “I’m here if you need me” Zuko called after you and you slammed the door shut before leaning against it on the other side. Although sneaking around with Zuko wasn’t right it sure was going to be fun.

Fake Girlfriend to Best Friend (1/9)
Summary: it’s exactly what the title says.
Pairing: Chris Evans x Reader
Warning: long. So long.
A/N: send me timeline requests or any requests. Definitely is multiple parts. It was a long shot but I was loving the story line and had to make it longer.
Tumblr media
Chris and you have been best friends ever since Scott brought you over claiming that you were his girlfriend.
You weren’t. You were just the freshman college student helping out your brother’s boyfriend since his family found out he was dating someone. They begged him to bring his “girlfriend” over.
Scott hadn’t come out of the closet to them yet. You were promised an all expenses paid road trip to any nearby state along with the two of them accompanying you.
So, you drove with Scott to Sudbury, MA, for spring break.
You easily woo’d the family.
Chris didn’t like you though. He was an ass to you until he heard you and Scott talking in Scott’s room.
“You gotta tell them!”
“You knocked her up?!” Chris said busting into the room.
“Excuse me?! I’m a virgin. I’ve only kissed two guys and one is your brother—.”
Scott covered your mouth and said, “I’m gay.”
After that, Scott told him why you were there and the whole plan. It made Chris be a little nicer to you when he realized you were just there helping his little brother out.
It doesn’t stop him from giving you a hard time.
You pretty much became family to them after Scott came out and even though your brother and him broke up.
You also ended up hanging out with the Evans whenever you got any breaks from school.
Even some weekends you went over.
Chris claimed that you’re obsessed with him if he was in Massachusetts at the same time as you.
You always rolled your eyes.
The Evans Brothers took you out on your 21st birthday to some bars in New York and even a couple clubs.
“You guys have beautiful eyes. I’d want my kids to have your eyes.”
The boys laughed and Scott said, “you’ll have a better chance with Chris, honey.”
“Scott!”
Chris had to carry you back to your dorm since you’re an awful drunk and a lightweight.
They tuck you in. They put a glass of water on your bedside table and the bottle of ibuprofen before they leave you to handle your hangover by yourself tomorrow.
You’re completely miserable the next morning and you vow to never drink again.
It gets broken especially whenever the Evans Brothers are in town.
Chris asks you if he should take the role of Captain America. Though he already has other people telling him to like RDJ and Marvel executives.
“Take it. Johnny Storm was shit. I wanna see you fail again.”
He freaks out.
You calm him down and have him lay on top of you.
You wrap your arms around him and start playing with his hair.
“It’s gonna be okay and you’ll be fine either way.”
He takes the role.
He calls you while he’s filming.
You’ve even talked him down from panic and anxiety attacks.
Chris brings you and his family to the premiere of Captain America: The First Avenger.
You meet RDJ along with Chris Hemsworth.
You’re absolutely star strucked and pretty much drooling over the Australian actor. You’re thankful he’s taken and that you have no confidence to ask him out if he wasn’t.
Your Chris gets a bit jealous of how you look at Hemsworth and does anything in his power to keep you away from the Australian.
He even has you sit next to him.
You grip his hand tightly when Bucky dies and seeing Steve look so heartbroken.
“I’m surprised your girl ain’t close to you,” Sebastian Stan teased his costar.
“She’s just a friend.”
“Oh, so, I can ask her out then?”
“No, you cannot. I’ll kill you. Don’t you dare think about it, Stan.”
Sebastian laughs and raises his hands in defense.
After the premiere, Chris gets all cuddly and snuggly with you so much so that he has to sleep in the same hotel room bed as you.
He can get very clingy with you especially if he’s jealous.
He goes back to filming for Avengers and you go back to New York.
You run into Sebastian and get his number.
He introduces you to some people and your first real adult boyfriend.
Sebastian does warn you that his friend is a bit of a heartbreaker. But it does nothing.
You think you’re in love. You’re just a fool.
He takes your virginity and leaves you heartbroken.
You call Chris crying.
He flies out ASAP ready to beat the shit out of the guy.
When he sees you, his heart breaks and he just holds you tightly.
And he spoils you rotten while he’s in New York.
Chris, however, has to fly back to Atlanta immediately. He has Sebastian look out for you.
When you graduate, Chris flies out.
His whole family is there along with your own. Except your brother.
Chris is so proud of you. He tells you that all the time.
You managed to score a pretty well paying job in Boston and so you move to Boston. The Evans celebrate it of course.
You and Chris end up very drunk and in his childhood bedroom passed out on the floor.
His doggie East dies.
Chris comes to your new place crying after having to put him down since he can’t go back home just yet.
You put on his favorite movies but it doesn’t make him feel better. You just hold him as he cries.
Chris starts dating this new chick. He spends all his time with her when he’s in Boston.
He missed your 22nd birthday.
No phone call. No text. No card.
Nothing.
And you’re pissed. He’s been to all your birthday parties or he’s called you to wish you a happy birthday. Even those calls last an hour or so.
Scott tells him. Chris gets sassy.
You don’t speak to Chris for awhile.
Literally. 8 months of not speaking to each other.
He comes crawling back.
You give him the silent treatment for 2 months.
You start dating this guy.
He’s very controlling.
The red flags get ignored.
You don’t go to the Avengers premier because he doesn’t allow it.
Chris gets to talk to you less and less along with Scott.
You run to Chris when your boyfriend hits you.
You end up moving in with Chris in his Boston home since somebody likes to come to your place threatening you.
Chris has you get a restraining order.
Many fun nights together.
A lot of movie nights as well if neither of you want to hit up the town.
He’s gone a lot due to filming.
You get transferred to the office in France since the ex is stalking you at work.
It saddens Chris but he visits you whenever he can and especially on press tours when the stop is in France.
You end up quitting your job when you get harassed by a couple of coworkers and nothing gets done.
Chris hires you as his assistant.
You hate the job since he’s such a little shit. But he pays you very well and has you live with him rent free.
This all happens in the same year.
You throw him a surprise party for his birthday.
Scarlett Johansson offers you a job as her assistant.
You quit and take it without hesitation since the last guy was so demanding.
You see Chris on the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He playfully glares at you.
He calls you a traitor.
Anthony Mackie asks him, “when are you gonna ask Scar’s assistant out?”
Chris glared at him and said, “she’s just a friend.”
Sebastian laughs under his mask and gets punched in the arm.
With busy schedules and he starts dating his on/off again chick, you don’t see each other much.
He does surprise you in Vegas for your 24th birthday.
Though, he does have a full blown argument with his latest chick at your party.
You literally left your own birthday party because of it.
You end up in a 24hr diner by yourself and you make friends with an old man dressed as Elvis Presley.
Everyone tries to find you. You did leave your phone in Chris’ pocket since you didn’t have any and you didn’t have room in your small clutch.
It turns into a Hangover movie but everyone is drunk or tipsy.
Or really really drunk.
They finally find you. And you’re singing with Elvis “Can’t Help Falling In Love” as he dances with his wife who’s the owner of the diner.
They’re shocked. Nobody knew you could sing.
It only happens when you’re a sad drunk.
Chris takes your drunken ass back to your hotel room. He spends the night with you.
You fly with Scarlett to LA for the premiere.
Chris steals you from Scarlett and walks the carpet with you.
“You’re such an asshole.”
“Thank you. I try.”
You start getting hate from “fans” of his.
It brings you down.
Chris puts out a tweet pretty telling everyone to fuck off if they think that they can send you hate.
“You’re my best friend.”
LIES!
You’re so much more to him whether or not any of you admit it.
You see him again on set for Avengers: Age of Ultron.
He’s very happy to see you especially after being cheated on by a girl he thought he might marry.
Whenever Scarlett doesn’t need you, Chris takes you away.
It’s an ongoing joke.
RDJ thinks about hiring you ever since you brought him.
Scarlett threatens him. She’s also pregnant.
Elizabeth Olsen befriends you.
At the wrap party, you and Chris play beer pong against Hemsworth and Renner.
You beat them.
Everyone comes to the conclusion that you and Chris are like frat guys.
The night ends with you and Chris having unprotected sex. (Wrap it before you tap it).
You both don’t mention it at all and act like it never happened. But it did.
To be continued.

Obey Me!: Human and Demon Hearts!
A/N: I will be pinning a master list for ALL chapters uploaded, and adding links to said master list!
Chapter One: The Arrivals (2/2)
Word Count: 2213
Rating: 18+
Lights had filled the room. Purples, reds, greens, blues, yellows, golds, and pink flooded around the house like snakes searching for it's meal. Finding their targets still fast asleep, they coiled around their bodies until they were both covered head to toe. In almost an instant their bodies were swallowed whole, and the colored fog had disappeared as soon as they arrived. Leaving no one in their wake. Just the house. Empty of any breathing soul.
Through the closed eyes of the young girls, the colors still swirled. They were almost hypnotized by it. To each of their own the colors formed happy dreams, calming scents, and other promising visions. Even then, a black haze had started taking over. Though they were not awake their bodies had felt the shift and difference in their surroundings. Their skin no longer felt the soft warm beds. Now they lay flat on their backs upon two cushioned slabs. The air around them had grown hot, and uncomfortable. Their dreamy visions had finally faded to black, the panic set in, and they opened their eyes. Fully hoping their dreams turned into a nightmare. Concern and paranoia had set in as they shot up and locked eyes on each other. Fear evident in their faces.
Thoughts of cults and kidnappings came from their mouths as they tried so hard to figure out where they were. A loud and controlling voice echoed from nearby. They turned to the voice only to be met with seven uniformed men sitting under a high pedestal where another man sat, dressed in red. Noelle was first to stand up, her shaking feet feeling the stone cold ground that sent a shock through her body. Instantly, she stretched an arm out in front of Bella to protect her. The height difference between Noelle and Bella seemed comical to the seven men sitting at ground level, as various snickers and smirks were targeted towards them. The man above them speaking out again.
“Please, Don't be so afraid! You were brought here with good reason, and pure intentions!”
“What? Are you gonna brainwash us or something? Cause that would be the only "good reason" I can think of....”
Noelle spat back at the man, but shrunk slightly as he stood up, and frowned. Feeling looked down on, the girls tried to walk backwards for a door, but they only found the slabs they had woken up on.
“There will be no brainwashing, and you're more than welcome to leave at any time you desire. But only if you agree to change into more formal clothing, and listen to what I have to say...”
Noelle had yelped at the additional person who seemed to have been already standing by their side waiting, and holding on to clothing. A pleading look on his face had the girls silently agreeing to play along. Within the small amount of time they got dressed they seemed to have shaken off the general shock. Both of them seemed to admire the large banners decorated with different animals. They hung above the seven men in what was perceived as their rankings.
The silence that fell was broken too soon by the man in red who was obviously the leader of the group, and the silent servant who offered them clothes had stood next to him. Everyone now was on the same ground level.
“Let us try this again. I am Lord Diavolo, and you are the current hosts at the Royal Academy of Diavolo. Also known as RAD...”
“I knew it! It's a cult!”
Noelle exaggerated, and ruffled her nappy hair as a couple chuckles echoed around them. Her reaction almost lightened the mood.
“Not quite. I am the soon to be Heir of Devildom. The more civilized section of Hell's Layers. Or what some Humans tend to call the Underworld.”
The girls shook their heads in confusion. And for a few seconds they both looked at each other. Unsure if the truth was being told, but if it was...
“Wait... You said RAD. Oh dear god no. We tossed those out! We never gave them back to that creepy old lady! SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW US!”
Noelle seemed to panic as more and more irrational thoughts spewed out. A hand was placed on her shoulder, and she shrunk under the large man's touch. She reached back for Bella, but Bella had already backed away, fear seeping into her face.
“Those papers you filled out were connected to the ones in my office. As you filled those out, it carved ink into the papers here was well. Infused with my own magic. We call it Bleeding Applications. The main goal of my academy is to get an understanding of humans, demons, and angels in order to one day have peace between the three realms.”
Relaxing, Noelle nodded and looked back at Bella. Silently telling her that it's okay to get closer. She frowned as Bella shook her head no and opted to sit on the slab instead.
“Why us? We thought it was just a joke. What if we lied on those papers?”
“Well did you?”
“... No...”
“Perfect! I'd like to personally welcome you to the program! That is... If you agree to stay...”
A discussion took place about the new house they just bought, and their new lives they would miss out on. The teal haired servant that had guided the girls earlier was known as Barbatos. He was given the job to see that the newly acquired house would be taken care of as needed, and their payment would be completely paid off if they agreed to the program, and succeeded in staying. “But in hell?” Thought Noelle. “That's close to a death wish”. And as if her mind was read, they were introduced to the seven men who have been secretly judging them this whole time.
As the introductions went along it was revealed they were not just demons, or the school's council members, but they were all brothers. Lucifer. The eldest, who seemed to be the most put together, was the Avatar of Pride. Red eyes, and neatly kept black hair giving him a devilish charm, but an arrogant one as well. Mammon. The Second born who had made the most noise and laughter, and was obviously looking down on the girls. White hair, and unnatural blue eyes said trust, but he was the Avatar of greed. One to watch out for. The third born seemed bored of the whole situation, and would look away when either girl made eye contact. Dark lilac hair, with shiny orange eyes; the avatar of Envy. That was Leviathan. Fourth born, Satan, had given both the girls unwanted shivers as he was the Avatar of Wrath. The blonde hair and greenish blue eyes were comforting, but told them to run and hide. The fourth born, Asmodeus, was drilling holes into the girls with his own set of orange lush eyes. The mention of Lust made them both frown and slightly cringe as a quick wink was sent their way. Sandy hair was swept to the side flamboyantly. The last two were a set of twins. A redhead and a black haired male who's bangs were dyed white, and they shared purple eyes. Neither seemingly bored, or interested in the meeting. They were Beelzebub; Avatar of Gluttony, and Belphegor; Avatar of Sloth.
A bell rang out as soon as introductions were done, and everyone but the first born (Lucifer) had left. Stomachs growled and the girls looked around, avoiding his stare. Becoming impatient he walked by them. Nose in the air, and not bothering to even look at them.
“If you decide to follow me, I am heading to the cafeteria where we will give you a list of things you may want to avoid eating while you stay here. That is, if you have the gall to...”
Gulping they followed. The Cafeteria was empty, and it was no surprise to any of the demon brothers. As their food was handed to them, they both grimaced at the purple sludge consistency in front of them. They were soon forced to eat it, especially if they planned on eating any other foods that may contain poison. As much of the food in Devildom seemed to consist of. Soon after their crash course the girls were left to their own devices, and did their best to talk amongst themselves. Their decision to stay or leave weighed heavy.
Upon agreeing to stay, Lucifer seemed rather pleased with the news. The first genuine smile the girls had seen from him. It was then their task to talk with the brothers and decide who they chose as a tutor, who would also act as a guide.
Bella had immediately followed Noelle, and they first talked to the youngest, thinking that they would be the easiest to get along with. While they were not wrong about it, Bella seemed to relax more with the Sins of Gluttony, and Sloth. It became apparent that it was a two for one deal, and Noelle had stepped back to visually analyze her choices. By which she just looked at the remaining choices and their current activity. Satan and Asmodeus was almost an immediate no go. She feared she'd anger the wrath god, or be seduced. Neither of those were a good thing for her, or her mental health. Then her eyes laid upon Leviathan. The name stuck from TV shows she's watched in the past. Furthermore she couldn't help but recognize the hand held device in his hands.
Walking up to him with a bit more confidence, she sat beside him, and watched him for a few seconds. She recognized the sounds of Mario Kart being played. Perking up she waited for him to be seemingly done with his race.
“You know, I'm kind of a fan of racing games.”
Leviathan had rolled his eyes and gave her a frowning glare. It was obvious he didn't want to be bothered at this time. But before the conversation could continue, the bell rang, and Lucifer arose from his seat, his brother's watching him for instructions.
“I'm glad to see that you two have finally made your decision on your tour guides, and over all protectors-”
Noelle heard a quiet protest come from Leviathan, which was quickly shut down by Lucifer's glare.
“-Though they are now assigned to be your guides, this does not mean you must befriend them, or be attached at the hip. They have duties and hobbies of their own, and I expect you both respect that. Feel free to reach out to any of the brothers with questions. Now with that being said, you may head back to the council room, and collect your personal belongings, and devices.”
The bell had rung, but an eternity set in as Lucifer explained to them on how they were to settle in. Eventually they had collected a few bags of personal items, and enough clothes to get through the week. On top of that, they were given an allowance for other necessities, and any other luxuries they desired. It also turned out that the demons Bella and Noelle had been assigned were also key to their class schedule. Bella's classes consisted of study halls, history classes, along with a gym class. The final class earning a shared groan between Belphegor and Bella.
Noelle had a small bit of luck with more hands on classes such as dark arts, an actual art class, and potions. Though the tour between classes with Levi as her guide consisted more of him complaining about some 'Normie' having to follow him around. Noelle made mental notes of some complaints as to not make him mad.
The tours finally came to an end, and they were led to the House of Lamentation. A large Mansion where the Brothers lived, and where the Girls would be hosted for the school year. Dinner had passed by and soon the girls were brought to their rooms.
They hardly had time to admire the Gothic design of the home, as the girls split ways at the top of the stairs. Bella had taken a spare room closest to them, but Noelle had made her way down the hall. Leviathan had made a comment about how he's literally two doors across the hall from her room. He wasn't the nicest it seemed, as more insults of having to 'babysit' was made. An even bigger groan was made as he opened the door. It was a rather large storage room, that apparently Mammon was supposed to clean out before any new students arrived.
Arrangements were quickly made, and it seemed like Noelle would be staying in the living room until the storage space was cleared out. The darkness surrounded Noelle as Leviathan had left her alone rather quickly to go read Manga. Even though Noelle had expressed her fondness about the Japanese comics, it reached deaf ears, but was still greeted with a small 'whatever'. The night washed out the remaining lights. And Sleep was surprisingly attainable.

Generator Rex - Rewrite!
So I’ve mentioned and drawn things tied to my rewrite of Generator Rex, made between me, my friend and brother. I thought I’d give a basic timeline in what happens in this version through the notes I have, so feel free to read and see what we have to offer. I hope you enjoy what we’ve made, and feel free to ask any questions because I have probably left out many things still. Warning, this does get quite long to read, so you’ll need the time to do that, lol. I am also in the process of writing the Ben 10 Rewrite me and my brother wrote, though that is far longer so it will be a while for it come out, but let me know if you are interested in seeing it! 💙
-History-
Prior-Nanite Event
Violeta, as a child, is adopted by Abuela, raised in the small village/family she looks over.
A young teenager Black Knight, back when she went by her real name Ebony Hale, lived with her single father, who she was close to. Unfortunately, during a break-in gone wrong, he is killed by a burglar. Sadly, not enough evidence was found to convince the suspected murder, despite Ebony’s claims, mostly because of the corrupt and lazy criminal justice system. She is placed into foster care, and starts seeing all the dark sides to the world, due to troubling systems and powerful people, causing Ebony to grow this need for control and dreams of setting the world straight in her own ways.
Van Kleiss is kicked out of his home around when he turns 18, unable to live up to his parents’ expectations, doing what he can to scrape by in life, taking odd jobs and even living out on the streets a few times. He has many failed friendships or relationships of any kind, and starts to distance himself with people because of this.
Ebony jumps around studies, learning things such as law, psychology, basically anything that ties into her goal of making the world what she thinks is best suited for it.
Violeta meets Rafael Salazar during her school studies at university, the two becoming friends and eventually sparking a romantic connection. Violeta is also introduced to Rafael's long time friend Gabriel Rylander.
A young Six is found and taken in by One, and begins his training with the other members.
Van Kleiss is involved in a horrific accident that takes his arm. But during his recovery with a prosthetic, he meets Cassandra who is his physiotherapist, who manages to build a connection with him, the two even eventually falling in love.
Early in their marriage, Rafael and Violeta have their first son, Caesar Salazar. It would be another 13 years before they have their next one, as the family gets busy with travelling due to all the job opportunities they get.
Plans of the nanite project slowly start to become something over time.
Rex Salazar is born during the time the family is staying around Switzerland. A few others like Noah are also born around this time or closely to this year, including Circe from both Van Kleiss and Cassandra.
At the young age of five, Rex and his family are brought onto the nanite project by the suggestion of Rylander.
Van Kleiss’s wife, Cassandra, unfortunately, contracts an untreatable disease and passes away. This is the start of Van Kleiss building up his walls once more, but he tries to ignore his guilt and grief for the sake of himself and his daughter.
After doing his best to hold his life together and finishing up his schooling, Van Kleiss ends up joining the nanite project in honour of his wife. He has many strained relationships with his co-workers due to misguided judgement on both sides, even gaining quite the rivalry with Caesar. However, he and Circe end up befriending Rex, and Van Kleiss somehow ends up babysitting the two quite often.
Meanwhile, a young girl named Emiri (Breach), is adopted into a family, even gaining a younger sister named Mary.
New main nanites are made for the project. The first being the Alpha Nanite, which is the leading nanite that can control them all, used mostly to keep them under control or pass out orders or new updates. The other is the Omega, which can control a selected group of nanites that are nearby, but it is also the key to using the Alpha, as only those who have access to the Omega can have access to the Alpha. The Omega is mostly used for maintenance and testing, perhaps to select out nanites that need fixing or to make the Alpha do something.
Unfortunately, Rex and Circe sneak away at one point when Van Kleiss is distracted, keen to play hide and seek. Rex ends up finding himself in a nanite room with the Omega, and after messing around with his soccer ball, get caught in a lab accident. Heavy damage if done to his body, and the nanites in the room were broken out of containment and were altered by the lab damage in some ways, finding themselves in Rex. When the others finally got him out of the room and into the medical centre, a decision was made to keep the nanites in Rex, and have the Omega help in his recovery, making him the first patient to be using the nanites. He survives but with...unusual side effects, giving him technological powers that let him control tech around him, and even understand and talk to it, including the nanites. This also drives a wedge between the Salazars and Kleiss family, so whatever peaceful grounds were forming them are gone, even if Rex still tries to remain friends with Van Kleiss and Circe.
Eventually, a new member joins as an assistant, Ebony Hale. She mostly takes care of the minor things, and even ends up becoming the new person to watch over Rex, and the two do form a friendly dynamic with each other. However, what the scientists don’t know is that Ebony is really a spy for the Consortium, their main benefactor, as they wanna keep an eye on how the project is going.
Rebecca Holiday, a young and wild college student, learns that her parents died in an accident, and ends up having to take care of her younger sister, while studying. She calms down in her wild ways, and pushes through so much for her sister and herself.
After a while, it is eventually figured out that one, there is a spy among them and they don’t know who, and second, the Consortium actually plan to be in the ones in charge of the nanites, including the Omega and Alpha, as that would give them a lot of control over the world. Given they are greedy rich businessmen. With this learned, the series of events that lead to the nanite event begins to unfold.
Nanite Event
The scientist begins to debate what to do about the project. One section of the team suggests they simply destroy everything to do with the project, deeming it too dangerous for anyone like the Consortium to get their hands on, people like Peter Meechum and Rex’s parents agreeing to this. Another section of the team suggests finding away to remove the Consortium from the plan and get another benefactor, just being careful with the project as there is too much to just throw away, people like Rylander and Van Kleiss agreeing to this. And one other section of the team didn’t really care if the Consortium did get their hands on it, as this was what they were paying to do, Caesar actually being in this group (He was often too absorbed in his work, which made him narrow-sighted unfortunately.). After much debate, it was eventually settled to just end the project.
However, Ebony caught wind of this, and informed the Consortium. Wanting to save the project, they hired arm soldiers to...clean up the members of the project, planning to replace them all with a new team eventually. But Ebony secretly did not agree with this, as she has been doing her best to play both sides, given she had her own plans for the nanite project. Plus, she will admit that she had formed some quite nice relationships with members of the project, so she ended up quietly tipping them off to the up-coming assault anonymously.
The day comes when chaos comes. Some members had already fled, like Rylander and Meechum, who wanted to find their families and vanish. The rest stayed behind to begin destroying all of their work, even Caesar who, while not agreeing with it, helped out in the end. But when armed soldiers started coming in, killing scientists, time was running out fast.
It became apparent they didn’t have time to destroy the Alpha or the Omega, not with the resources they had. So a plan was devised that someone would take the Omega and flee, as without it the Alpha was mostly useless on its own. But the plan ended with giving Rex the Omega, as his connection to tech and the nanites meant he could hide it in him longer than anyone else could, and would head to the docking bay where Caesar would meet up with him to fly out. It was quite a harsh debate, wondering if it was a good idea to put Rex through this, even his parents hated to do this, but they couldn’t risk letting the world being controlled by these people. Van Kleiss and Circe were originally going to accompany Rex to the docking bay, as they had been planning to up and leave too, but a surprise attack from the soldiers caused everyone to split, including Rex with the Omega.
Distressed from everything, Rex finds himself stumbling his way around, unable to focus properly due to everything going on around him, and the effects of the Omega being inside him. He does run into a group of soldiers at one point, but he is let go by them when Ebony appears. The soldiers knew she was the spy and working with them, so when she ordered them to just let the kid by, not knowing what he was hiding, they let Rex go. Ebony supposes she did owe Rex after everything going on…
Van Kleiss and Rex’s parents get into an argument about all that happened, especially with how they involved Rex in everything and how this project went in the end. Van Kleiss leaves the room with his daughter, planning to run, when he is confronted by soldiers, who demand he open the door to where the Salazars were, or else they would kill him and his daughter. Van Kleiss ends up agreeing, despite how hard it was, and ends up letting them kill Rex’s parents as he tries to shelter Circe from everything.
Caesar finds his way to the docking bay where his ship/mobile lab is, but sees no signs of his little brother. He looks around and sees and hears everything the Consortium has done to his home, work, friends and family...It makes him feel guilty and hurt for being so narrow-sighted, for actually thinking it was ok to let these people have control over the times. He wants to go back in to find his family, his brother, but he realises that with everything going on, the lab is about to explode. Due to all the gunfire, violence, scientists messing with machines and computers, and even Rex’s stress affecting the Omega which affects the nanites around him, everything was about to burst. With a heavy heart, Caesar flies off just as the labs explode, creating the nanite event.
Some others managed to escape just before everything went off, including Ebony and some soldiers, but most others don’t survive. However...some were protected by nanites that infected them, as they begin to spread across the globe. Rex also survives thanks to his nanites and the Omega, but all the trauma and stress results in him losing his memories, as he couldn’t handle it, with the nanites wanting to erase it all as a means to ‘help’ Rex cope, in a way…
The mysterious nanite event in history has been marked down….
Post-Nanite Event
The entire world, of course, falls into a panic when people randomly begin turning into monsters after an unknown explosion occurred, the source of the mutations discovered to be tiny machines called nanites. Governments are quick to try and calm the public, and begin starting research on how to stop the nanites and cure those turning into creatures. But fear starts to take control of the world pretty quickly.
Broken from what happened, the small surviving members of the nanite project split off from each other. Peter Meechum returns to family life with his daughter, Rylander tries to confront the Consortium but ends up going on the run from them, having to abandoned his family to keep them safe, and Caesar goes into hiding, in despair over all that he’s lost, believing his parents and Rex to be dead. He isolates himself from the world, working on personal projects to distract himself over the years.
Meanwhile, in Abysus, Van Kleiss discovers his connection to the lands and learns what the nanites are doing to the world. After everything he’s gone through in life, he starts to grow this odd idea that this is the next step in humanity, that it’s time to start fresh and starts his plans on making the entire world creatures like him. Slowly, he builds Abysus into a haven for those who have turned and are still sane, or are sane enough, Abysus turning into this strange yet beautiful overgrown jungle-like place. Circe stands by her father’s side, as he’s all she has left, even if, at times she grows doubtful of who her father is becoming.
Rex, however, wanders out of Abysus sometime after the nanite event, with no memories of what happened. He blacks in and out for the first few weeks, losing his memories over and over again due to the trauma of everything, his body and mind weak but slowly start to recover. But, every time he’s evolved in something highly dangerous he can’t handle, or is close to death, his nanites kick in and take control, kicking him alive until they find somewhere safe to change him back, but this results in him losing his memories again. The Omega, still inside him, slowly begins to evolve and connect with Rex in a deep way that does not notice for a long while, unaware of what’s inside him.
After a few months, Rex somehow finds himself in Hong Kong, first meeting and befriending Tuck. Tuck used to live with his father in an auto shop, but after some bad run-ins with some gangs, his father is killed and Tucks ran out onto the streets, eventually turning EVO. The two of them are picked up by Quarry, who has been making EVO gangs and sees potential in the two, especially Rex. Their team begins to grow when running into ‘Chen Tsui’, who they end up calling Cricket. She uses to be from quite a rich family, that sadly had high expectations for their image, and kicked Cricket out of their home when she turned EVO. Then they run into John Scarecrow, who had quite the sucky life before due to neglectful parents and bullying issues, and eventually ran away from home before turning EVO. Rex and Scarecrow end up butting heads alot. Finally, their last member is Walter Martin, who ends up getting the nickname Skywdd. His parents died when he was very young, and so he was raised by his loving grandmother, even when he turned EVO. However, she passed away one night and while Skywdd called to have the body removed and buried properly, he ran before anyone came as he knew him being EVO would cause problems. The five of them become quite the trouble-making team.
Meanwhile, Emiri’s family undergo many issues when their hometown is invaded by EVOs, the main one being an overgrowth of plants. Sadly, her adopted parents are killed, while she ends up turning EVO, her mind and memory becoming iffy, broken, now having powerful portal powers. She and her adopted sister, Mary, end up fleeing and have to survive on their own, Emiri soon going by the name Breach due to not properly remembering who she once was.
Governments around the world begin to put money towards creating a group called Providence, an anti-EVO force that not only removes and capture dangerous EVOs, but also research on finding a cure. The Consortium become key benefactors towards Providence, with no one knowing their true involvement with the nanites past.
After her sister turns EVO, Holiday convinces them not to kill Beverly by helping and working at Providence, eventually working her way up to become the assistant to their leading scientist Doctor Fell, even if she doesn’t agree to their methods of research.
After some time, Rex starts to drift from his friends in Hong Kong, feeling this longing to be somewhere, to find out who he really is. He tosses around the idea, but after finding some clues that point him in the direction of America, Rex decides to hand over his leadership to Quarry. He hates to leave his friends behind, but due to some emotional manipulation from Quarry and Scarecrow, Rex truly believed it was the best thing for his friends, and that Quarry would protect them. But after he vanishes, Scarecrow pretends to be him for a voice recording, planning to blackmail him if he were to ever return.
The Six’s mostly tried not to get involved with the whole world burning due to the nanite event, but things take a turn when One turns EVO. The group splits, either continuing their mercenary lives, or to find One help. Six ends up joining Providence, after his old friend, Robinson White, convinces him to join the cause, especially when he mentions they’re looking for a cause. Six used to be one who didn’t care much about the life of others, he will admit, but after what happened to one and now actively helping people around the world...he does start to question how this war is affecting people, especially with them killing EVOs who use to be normal people.
While working at Providence, he ends up running into Holiday fairly soon. She catches his interest due to her speaking up about finding another way to look for a cure, even if Dr.Fell and White put her down. Six ends up agreeing with her, to her surprise, and a silent partnership begins to form between the two as they make plans to try something new. They just need something to work in their favour…
Then, one day, they are called to flush out a bunch of EVOs in a ruined city. Things are going normal for them, as normal as they can be, when reports of a mechanical EVO is seen running around, something that looks like a person wearing a parasitic robotic suit. Wild and dangerous. When the EVO shows itself, Holiday and Six are quick to realise that underneath the mutations, there is a young boy. They urge Providence not to attack him, but a twitchy soldier causes a fight to break out and the group is forced to split, with Six guiding Holiday away from the fight. But the two end up running into the strange tech EVO, though after some peaceful gestures, they actually get him to calm down, only for him to turn back into a young boy. Confused of course, they decide to try and take him back to Providence, only for them to learn three things. One, he has no memories beyond knowing his name, second, he is still EVO, and third, he can cure EVOs after saving Six from one.
Holiday and Six decide to keep him a secret for now, not trusting White and Dr.Fell with Rex. They plan to later move him somewhere safe, and for the next few days do their best to hide what Rex is, using the excuse of Holiday looking after him until he can maybe recover some memories.
Rex becomes a bit of a handful, due to his powers sometimes affecting the tech around him, befriending an EVO chimp called Bobo, and even getting scared when learning that Dr.Fell dissects and kills EVOs. However, despite how hard they tried, White does eventually learn what Rex is. White and Fell try to do to Rex what they’ve done to all the other EVOs, but a fight breaks out between them with Six and Holiday. After a brutal fight, it ends with White saving Six, him getting bleached with Nanites, but narrowly saved by Rex.
With the discovery of Rex becoming more open to their benefactors and governments, things change up in Providence. Holiday becomes the new leading scientist, Six becomes Rex’s mentor and partner, Dr.Fell is fired and White becomes the new leader of Providence due to being the one person who can’t turn EVO, now going by the name White Knight.
Meanwhile, the Consortium, knowing Rex’s old ties to the nanite event and where Providence is heading, decide to call in their old Spy, Ebony, to join Providence to keep an eye on things in the background. She agrees, them not knowing that she too is making her own plans when see where Providence is going.
Meanwhile, Abysus has grown to be quite the EVO community, many EVOs seeking refuge with Van Kleiss after he offered them shelter. His main group by his side is called The Pack, which consists of him, Biowulf, Skalamander, Breach and his daughter Circe. And yet, despite how pleased he is seeing his Kingdom grow, seeing the good he has provided for the outcasts like him, he still acts distant, not wanting to build up any more personal connections due to his bad history with them...Circe being the only person close enough to him, and yet even that is cracking.
Found at the age 13, Rex begins to train for the next 3 years in secret from the public eye, becoming Providence’s secret weapon.
-Generator Rex Series-
Season 1
After training for 3 years, Rex ends up introducing himself to the world after a quite large EVO invades a town. Word spreads quickly through the media when learning what Providence has been hiding, and the reception is quite mixed. Some finally glad there is a somewhat cure and help, some terrified for hating the idea of having an EVO help, some thinking this will go down hill quickly, and some merely standing by to see what will happen.
Rex has, unfortunately, become a bit of a rebel, as he is tired for hiding away all the time, curious about teenage life styles and wanting to feel more human. He does, after all, want to learn about his past and who he is. This results in him wandering off after a mission at one point, and running into a boy named Noah Nixon, the two bonding over some basketball, mostly because Noah didn’t know who Rex really was. Not until Six came to pick him up. However, this does cause White to take notice of Noah, seeing how he managed to get Rex to stay still for once, and reaches out an offer to help keep Rex in line, saying Noah will receive payment and help in the war. Noah ends up agreeing.
Word reaches out to Van Kleiss eventually, and he is surprised to learn that Rex is alive. He decides quickly that it would be a good idea to get Rex to join Abysus, as not only is he an EVO like them that suffers from negative gazes and comments from the general public, but also because he would be useful due to his EVO powers, Van Kleiss knowing he has the Omega in him. But there are hints that a part of Van Kleiss may or may not still care about Rex, but he mostly denies this. Other EVOs in Abysus are also eager to have him join, wanting to welcome their new members. So The Pack, minus Circe, does eventually snatch him away and offer him a chance to join Abysus, and Rex does get tempted, especially when Van Kleiss reveals he knows who Rex once was, but turns away when learning that Van Kleiss wishes to turn everyone EVO and fleds. Van Kleiss realises he’s gonna have to start pushing it if he’s going to get Rex to join.
However, a lot of what Van Kleiss and the other EVOs said does get to Rex, who starts butting heads with Providence more, especially after learning that his friend, Noah, was a spy for them all this time. While he and Noah do make up eventually, it’ll take some time before Rex starts to trust Providence again, especially with him and White often arguing at each other. Really, it’s mostly thanks to Six and Holiday that Rex hasn’t up and ditched Providence yet.
Circe does eventually run into Rex again, flabbergasted by the fact her childhood best friend his alive, and does yell at her father for not saying anything sooner. However, he convinces her to not tell Rex anything about the past, telling her they need him on their side and they must do what they can, even if they have to be harsh about it. Still caring for her father, and not having a backbone for herself, she does agree to help with him, often trying to convince Rex to join as she does feel like the world is unfair to EVOs like him, her and the others, but Rex often pulls away from her and instead tries to convince her to leave Abysus, noting that while Van Kleiss may think he’s doing the right thing, he’s clearly pushing everyone away out of fear, including his own daughter.
Rex also develops a secret friendship with Breach, after some mishaps of her kidnapping him, then the two of them saving each other at separate times, and Rex connecting with her when seeing there is more to Breach than a broken person.
Still being a spy unknown to Providence, Ebony starts pulling her strings her own way in secret, even anonymously reaching out to Van Kleiss to be a spy for him, doing her best to play all sides.
Rex runs into his old Hong Kong friends, reconnecting with them and trying to help them deal with Quarry. There is an issue that splits him and the others when Quarry tells them Rex was the one to ditch, along with playing the voice recording. But Rex eventually comes back to help them, while also learning that Scarecrow tried setting him up, mostly because Scarecrow thought it was unfair that Rex gets to forget everything bad he’s done or gone through, and gets to ditch everyone behind to get what he wants. Eventually, Quarry is captured, while Scarecrow runs off, and Rex and his friends reconnecting once more.
Eventually, Rylander is found, still having been running from the Consortium all this time. However, he’s not quite himself, under a lot of stress after what happened, and doesn’t tell much to Rex before he’s killed by mistake during a brief scuffle with Van Kleiss. However, Rex does know that he does have family out there, even a brother.
Eventually, Van Kleiss does strike Providence directly, and manages to swipe many of Rex’s own nanites, that not only improve his powers and keep his nanites stable, no longer dying when out of Abysus, but he also gains the power to turn people EVO. However, something happens to Rex with his small amount of remaining nanites, as if he’s body is under some kind of stress. It’s revealed that the Omega is inside him, and has upgraded his powers to defend him and fill him back up with his nanites, helping him win the day. Though Providence does need to go under some repairs.
Season 2
Rex has become quite well-known by now, his public image not so great due to people’s fears towards EVOs, and people like Hunter Cain causing some uprising. So whenever Rex does hang out with Noah, he wears a ‘civilian’ outfit that Noah, Claire and Annie picked out for him.
Meanwhile, Caesar, who has still been in hiding to this day, finally catches wind that his brother is alive, along with the Omega still being with him (Caesar hadn’t really been paying much attention to the news up until now.). He runs into Providence, finds his brother, and does try to leave, though Rex convinces him to just stay at Providence. Rex is excited to finally have family back and some connection to his past but...his brother wasn’t exactly what he was expecting, as Caesar, as much as his loves his family, does seem to often put his work first without realising it, and is more keen to create something to prove he can do it, rather than how it can benefit people or the consequences of it. But, he does try to connect with his little brother, even if it’s hard for the both of them.
Rex’s EVOs powers start to develop more, in a noticeable way. Not only is he getting new builds, but his connection to nanites and tech become something more, even starting to get strange dreams from the nanites, as if they’re trying to warn him or tell him something. He is mostly use to this way of life, though it is strange for an outsider to see.
With Caesar back, Rex starts to get hints about the past, and not the good parts of it. This mostly comes from Caesar’s one off comments, but he’s mostly keeping things a secret for some reason, while Van Kleiss gives him hints and clues, even stating things for Rex that what happened in the past wasn’t happy, and that Rex’s dreams to have the family he wished for isn’t going to be what he wanted, especially since Caesar struggles with connecting and family life. It seems Caesar doesn’t want to tell Rex much, for fear of them growing more distant if Rex were to learn the truth about how distant and busy their family used to be in the past, especially between the two brothers, and exactly what went down to create the nanite event.
Tired of waiting, Rex does start to call out people like Caesar and Van Kleiss here and there more often than he did before, and even starts snooping at times to find his own answers, but he doesn’t seem to dig up much.
Eventually, things come to a head between Providence and Abysus when Rex finally convinces Breach to leave the Pack, after seeing how harsher Van Kleiss has become, the man getting frustrated that things aren’t working out (Along with secretly trying harder to push away people he starting to get attached too). After a fight, including a point where Breach snaps and her powers go highwire, Rex manages to calm her and eventually Van Kleiss gives up and lets her go, calling her a traitor, becoming more aggressive due to his lack of control, along with parts of him not wanting to let go.
Circe follows soon after, finally unable to take anymore of what her father is doing, leaving her for own sake, even if it’s hard for the both of them. Rex does his best to support her, and eventually takes her to live with the Hong Kong Gang, knowing they can help her and give her a home she deserves.
After losing two key members of his team, Van Kleiss ends up recruiting Scarecrow to join The Pack, using the man’s shapeshifting ability to help him out many times. Van Kleiss is also becoming more desperate to reach his goal, becoming more snappy towards everyone, especially to those who try to reach out. Rex does call him out on this many times, but Van Kleiss just pushes him away in the end.
Eventually, Van Kleiss decides to take proper action, heading to purgatory, where Rex normally offloads his nanites. He activates them and plans to create another nanite event, one that will turn the majority of the world in EVOs this time, given there aren’t enough nanites there to change the entire world, but he was planning to deal with the rest later. The Pack and Abysus members protect him as he begins his plans, and by the time Providence can reach him, he’s already started the meltdown that can’t be stopped. But Rex decides to try something, planning to enter Purgatory and connect with the shield system, going to make it cover the entire building to contain the explosion, and hopefully if his nanites protect him, he will then proceed to shut down every single nanite that is let loss in the shield, even if it takes him weeks, months of even years to do stop, maybe even dying in the process. Of course, everyone tries to change his mind, not wanting to lose him, but they know it might be the only way. Rex does succeed in stopping another nanite event from happening, trapping him, the nanites and Van Kleiss, as he begins to shut down each nanite.
Season 3
Six months end up going by when Rex finally finishes, shutting down the shield with no more wild active nanites that could cause any harm to be set onto the world. He is quickly greeted by Providence soldiers who had been waiting at the sight, taking him and Van Kleiss to Providence. Van Kleiss is taken somewhere else, while Rex is taken to White Knight’s room, learning how long he’s been gone. However, he learns that someone else is in charge now, Ebony Hale, who now goes by Black Knight, who happily greets Rex back to Providence. There she explains that White Knight went rogue, while people like Six and Holiday left after losing Rex, and they don’t know where they’ve gone. Caesar and seemingly Bobo are still around, and Black Knight convinces Rex to take his old job back.
While working at the new Providence, Rex starts to learn a few things, including a little more about the original nanite project. Black Knight even shows him something they found while he was away, the Alpha nanite, which had been damaged during the nanite event, sending out signals that were causing the random mutations. It is in the process of being repaired, but they need the Omega to finally stop the mutation order and fix it completely soon. Something feels off to Rex, and he assumes right when Black Knight and Caesar suddenly turn on him, saying they just want to remove the Omega from him, but Rex doesn’t trust them, knowing something is wrong. A scuffle breaks out, and when Rex is knocked out, he is unknowingly saved by Six and Holiday, learning also that the Bobo at Providence is a fake and spy for them.
Six, Holiday, Bobo and White update Rex on a few things that happened. They explained to him that the Consortium took control of Providence, claiming they failed too many times, putting Black Knight in charge. However, they learn what they’re really after is full control over the Alpha and all nanites in the world, and there are rumors of a project called ‘The Meta Nanites’ going around, though they don’t exactly know what they are. For now, Rex finds that him and his group have to be on the run and in hiding for a while now. He also learns that Providence is now mind controlling EVOs, presenting it as something good to the public, when really it’s something horrible in reality, hunting down any and all EVOs they find.
Rex starts running into old friends and people, learning how things have changed. Circe and the Hong Kong Gang are on the run from Providence. Noah has to be careful as Black Knight knows of his connection towards Rex. Abysus is now run by Biowulf, who still had faith in what Van Kleiss built for them. Members of the old nanite project are being tracked down, along with any blueprints and info that could help fix the Alpha. Breach hopping around the place, helping EVOs get to Abysus where they can be safe from Providence. All a mess really, with Rex being the centre of it all due to him having the Omega.
Tensions are high between Rex and Caesar, as Rex is convinced that Caesar is helping them because he wants too, like in the past where he didn’t really care who had the nanites as long as he got to do the project. Caesar tries to explain things, but is still distance and lying, not telling the whole truth still.
Meanwhile, Van Kleiss refuses to help Black Knight or the Consortium, but after the fight in Abysus, they catch Circe, and use her as leverage to get Van Kleiss to help.
There is a brief time where Providence catches Rex, having Caesar make the Omega talk to them through Rex, planning to remove it from him with simple voice commands. But to everyone’s surprise the Omega has evolved quite a bit since they last saw it, the piece of tech deeply connected to Rex to the point it seems to only follow his command, wishing to protect “The Catalyst”, and is unable to be controlled by any member of the original project, taking control of Rex and helping him escape (With subtle help from both Van Kleiss and Rylander).
The Consortium starts getting more involved personally, much to Black Knight's annoyance, but she still puts on a front to keep playing them and everyone else.
Eventually it is discovered that The Meta Nanite project is really just creating five different Omegas, so that each Consortium member can have one to control the Alpha and all nanites in the world. This is the main reason they keep trying to take the Omega from Rex, in hopes to clone it.
After a partially bad battle, the Consortium and Black Knight eventually confront Rex, pushing him too far physically and emotionally which results in Rex accidently turning them EVO. The Consortium turned into a hybrid monster and Black Knight turning into an EVO that can turn solid and into a liquid form. Narrowly, Rex manages to escape, while Black Knight gets the Consortium under control, ‘promising’ them that they can be cured eventually.
Things reach to a head when the final battle takes place, everyone aiming to get to the Alpha and taking the Omega first. Unfortunately, Black Knight and Consortium’s new forms provide an issue, especially when they also used mind control EVOs. However, Caesar ends up mildly sabotaging them, managing to free half of the EVOs before he is caught by Black Knight. He reveals he’s been playing them, as there was no way he was actually planning on helping the people who killed his family. Black Knight too reveals that she doesn’t want to help them either, instead was helping herself the entire time, and takes control of the operation and throws Caesar away.
Because half of the EVOs were freed, Van Kleiss joins the battle with any members of Abysus around, still wanting to create the EVO paradise they all wish for. This results in the fight being four ways, Abysus’s side, Providence’s side, the Consortium Side, and Black Knight’s side. Rex is caught in the middle of it, but after much growth with his nanites, he allows himself to go full EVO, even at risk of losing all his memories. The fight reaches the point where Rex, Black Knight, Van Kleiss, White Knight and the Consortium reaching the Alpha, all of them realising that Rex has full control of the situation and it’s his choice to make, each leader prompting him to follow their goals. After a long debate, Rex reaches for the Alpha and fixes it, now able to take full command over all nanites in the world. But instead of curing everything, turning everything, or mind controlling everyone, he merely stops the process of any new mutations from happening, though does cure people like Black Knight and the Consortium so they don’t become a problem again. Rex knows that he can’t make a sudden massive decision that will do something bad to the world, even curing it would create unwanted side effects. Instead, he wants to take the time to use the Alpha to cure/fix what needs to be fixed, but in a safe and slow manner. After all, what the nanites did to the world is not going to be an easy fix, and sadly some things are going to stay.
Black Knight and the Consortium are arrested, while Van Kleiss and members of Abysus flee back home, needing to make plans but...maybe willing to listen if Providence wants to make a deal. The Alpha is handed to Providence, with White Knight taking back charge, and begin making plans on how to set the world back to normal, or as normal as it can be, Rex still being the one to hold the Omega and able to control the Alpha.
While not perfect, Caesar and Rex begin to try and patch things up, deciding it might be time to actually start being a family, though with people like Six, Holiday and Bobo also involved (And Six and Holiday would totally be dating at this point).
Rex also reaches out to Van Kleiss, with the help of Circe who wants to reconnect with her dad, and while things aren’t good between any of them, there are hints it could be better in the future.

---------------------------------------------------
June
Y/N gritted her teeth as Hado cheerfully loudly greeted Amajiki at 8 AM. All mornings were terrible for her, but Mondays were the worst. The fact that Hado had no consideration for other people’s nerves on an early morning, really, really made Y/N dislike her even more than she already does. And she already disliked her enough to ignore all of Hado’s many attempts to befriend Y/N. Especially when Hado figured that Y/N and her quirk were the same. Which is not true, Y/N’s quirk worked on the fact she could absorb small wavelengths of energy like incandescent bulbs, LEDs, or artificial lights that didn’t generate violet waves. Y/N then used that energy to make whatever she desired from beams to moving at lightspeeds using her absorbed energy.  Nothing at all like Hado’s whatever waves.
Now there was a good reason to hate Hado and that reason was the fact she was friends with her mortal enemy AKA Togata Mirio. He probably didn’t even know she existed, but Y/N hated him since second year. First year, Y/N did the impossible with her difficult to control quirk as she absorbed the LED lights in the stadium to blast her way to 4th place in the Sport’s festival. 2nd year she didn’t even make it to the top 10 because Togata had knocked her out in the 1st round of the last tournament. Ever since then Togata Mirio had exploded onto the scene of U.A., he was praised universally, and all the 3rd years worshipped him like he was a god. Y/N’s grinding of her teeth became even louder as she thought of the blonde idiot. Yes, Y/N didn’t just dislike him, oh no she hated him with every fiber of her being. She might be called a monster for it, but what she wouldn’t do for a chance to wallop his idiotic face. Maybe even strangle him for a minute or two after getting a few hits in.
Y/N watched as the slouched, nervous boy with pointed ear greeted Hado back quietly and sat in his seat. See, she didn’t make a point to be rude to Amajiki. What would be the point of doing that when he was basically a scared rabbit? Even she wasn’t that much of a monster to destroy his badly needed confidence, so she mostly just ignored him.
Finally, the sensei had come in and all the student quieted down for the morning lessons. Y/N stood up and bowed as the class president called out the greetings and they all sat down when the teacher let them. Most of the morning passed by quickly as Y/N actually did pay attention since she had a couple of tests coming up, otherwise she would be sending texts to her best friend in 3B all throughout classes. The bell rang indicating it was time for lunch, sending a quick text to her best friend to save her a seat as Y/N needed to use the restroom. She took her time leisurely to wash her hands and straightened her school uniform and made sure her hair wasn’t mussed. She even reapplied her nude pink lipstick, before taking a quick selfie to send to her friend. Y/N walked out as she used the Line app to edit some cute stickers and added on the hashtag “felt cute”. She didn’t notice until it was too late as she crashed into a wall of muscles. Y/N bounced off their chest, and her phone scattered to the floor. Quickly grabbing the device, she made sure the screen wasn’t broken. A huge sigh left her, and she turned around to give that idiot a piece of her mind.
“You moron, can’t you watc-“ Y/N cut herself as she realized she looked into the eyes of Togota Mirio.
Her whole view disconnected and reconnected as both of their minds melded. Her feelings were no longer just hers, but rather a whole of synergy of emotions as both of their desires, wants, and even fears entangled. Why was she so angry most of the time? So afraid. So anxious. She was no longer alone because he was her-
Those thoughts disconnected as the meld ended, their connection broken. Y/N stepped back in horror. Oh no. Togata was her soulmate. She just found the one person who was supposedly the perfect match for her, and it turned out to the person she hated the most in U.A.
‘Fuck my life.’ Y/N thought. She quickly turned around, ignoring his very loud protests, sprinted all the way back to the 3rd year hallway. She sent a quick text to her friend saying she was feeling sick and was at Recovery girl’s office when in reality, she was currently hiding out in the girl’s restroom. Sitting on top of a covered toilet, she frantically searched the web for a way to get rid of one’s soulmate.
Y/N knew since she hit puberty the science behind soulmates. Basically, a body’s way of finding your perfect mate that will the create the most optimal offspring. When two individuals’ eyes meet, their minds would mesh and basically their souls would connect. Y/N had watched a health video in her junior high year as two soulmates would stand there make eye contact for 5 mins with large creepy smiles and hazy eyes. Basically, looking like two drugged out idiots before regaining their senses. She remembered thinking how dumb the two looked whereas everyone else cooed at how romantic it was.
As for their souls’ connecting, it was another sugarcoated way to say the two soulmates would share emotions. Even now despite being hopefully far away from Togata, she could feel his frantic worry causing her chest to burn. Y/N tried to sooth the pain with one hand and the other one scrolling through articles. Anything that could help get rid of the moron that was her soulmate. She didn’t know how fast the lunch period passed because she was reading articles when she got jerked out of trance by the bell.
Y/N aggravatedly sighed. All the damn articles were no help, they just kept spewing the gospel of soulmates and how 80% of all soulmates would succeed in creating a healthy, loving relationship. She scowled, the only thing she would create with blonde Astro boy will be a lawsuit after she kneed him in the family jewels. As the bell rang once more, Y/N got up and kicked the toilet out of pure frustration before sulking back to her classroom.  She made it to her seat and slumped over her desk. Y/N rested her eyes for a few minutes as she could hear her fellow classmates make it back from lunch. She jerked out of her nap when she heard the familiar voices of Hado and Amajiki. Keeping a close eye on them without being obvious, she noticed how they didn’t acknowledgeable her more than normal.
Letting a sigh of relief, she relaxed knowing that Togata hadn’t let his friends know what happened in the hallway earlier.  The rest of the classes continued as normal except for the occasional bursts of happiness and the need to laugh startling her throughout the day. Y/N scoffed, of course he would be happy whereas he continued to be her source of frustration. The last of the classes were soon over so she headed home on her own. Usually Y/N would walk with her best friend, but she had an appointment with the support department to fix her hero costume.
Y/N walked leisurely down the sidewalk, enjoying the warm sunny day when a voice called underneath her.
“Hey-“ A familiar blonde face appeared in the sidewalk. Y/N screamed and bunched her skirt together so he couldn’t peak at her underwear.
“Pervert! What the hell do you think you’re doing?” she screamed as she stomped at the face.
“N-no wait! It’s your soulmate, Togata Mirio!” the face yelled desperately as he dodged her stomps.
Y/N paused in her stomps. “Well, that’s even worse than a pervert!” She resumed her stomps before giving up entirely and running away.
The next morning, Y/N used a baseball cap to keep her face from being visible and hopefully go unnoticed until she arrived in class. She didn’t need a repeat of yesterday. Arriving in class, she took off her the cap and settled in her seat. The morning lectures continued as she halfheartedly took notes and completed her assignments. Everything was going well until Togata walked in during lunch break.
Y/N jerked in her seat and turned away using her long hair as a curtain to hopefully escape his eyes.
She could hear Hado yelled out Togata’s name as the two friends conversed.
“Oh, this time I’m not here to hang out. I’m looking for Y/N. She is in this class, right?” She heard him ask.
Y/N looked up when she heard her name and saw Hado looking in her direction in confusion. She also saw Togata follow Hado and turn in her direction. Her eyes shifted to Togata, noticing the way his face lit up as he waved her over.
Y/N groaned. There was no way she could get out of this. She got up reluctantly and approached Togata, the entire class erupting in whispers and some of the girls were either giggling or shooting her glares. Y/N couldn’t help the flush, she never did like being the center of attention. Togota led her out of the classroom before pulling her aside in a nearby hallway.
“Look, I’m not sure why you are calling me out,” she began.
“I wanted to introduce myself.” Togata held out a hand for her to shake. “I’m Togata Mirio.”
Y/N stared at his hand in disbelief. “Of course, I know who you are,” she spat out.
“You do? I thought you ran away yesterday because you didn’t know who I was,” Mirio sheepishly said.
“No, I know. I ran away because I want nothing to do with you!”
“N-nothing? But I’m your soulmate, we should get to kno-“she interrupted before he could finish.
“No, No! And No! I wouldn’t want to get to know you if you were the last guy on earth. So, you better leave me alone!” she yelled. Seeing the shocked face of Mirio, Y/N felt satisfied that he had gotten the message and marched away to enjoy the rest of her lunch period. Still, she couldn’t help feeling a bit guilty when she felt the hurt coursing through Togata.
Meanwhile, Mirio shoved the hurt away and looked on in determination at the challenge that was walking away. Next time he wouldn’t let her walk away so easily, he promised as his eyes burned and sparkled.
July
Y/N drew a makeshift figure of Togata’s face on her notebook before she viciously started stabbing the drawing. ‘Stupid Togata, why can’t he get that he’s not wanted’ she thought. She threw a glare at the pretty arrangement of flowers on her desk. Every morning there was a new bouquet waiting for her on the desk. It attracted a lot of unwanted attention from her fellow classmates. At first, she threw all of them away in the garbage in a fury. But, over time the arrangements became more complicated and more beautiful than the last and her heart couldn’t bear the thought of throwing them away. So, she took it upon herself to donate it to Recovery girl’s office. She knew the older women appreciated them. Y/N saved the scattered chocolates in the bouquet for herself before dropping off the peony flowers at the Pro Hero’s clinic.
As Y/N walked to the lunchroom, she was interrupted when Togata came through the walls and in front of her.
“Y/N! Do you want to eat with me today? I brought a bento," Togata asked.
She looked down on her own bento and wondered how he knew that she was going to bring her own lunch today.
“Are you a psycho? How many times do I have to say no to you before you get it through your head?”
“I’ll keep asking until you say yes. I won’t ever take no for answer,” he cheerfully replied.
Y/N felt the fury inside of her build up and her face became tomato red. “Time to die, Togata.” She stepped towards him before tripping on her foot and her entire bento fell on the ground. She watched in shock at the hard work that had gone wasted and she turned towards Togata and sent him a death glare. Togata fearing for his life, slipped his bento into her hands before bolting out of the hallway. He activated his quirk and vanished through the walls.
 August
Y/N panted as sweat dripped down her face. She’s never felt so tired in her life yet so energized. The roar of the crowd helping her forget the aches and pains of the fight. Togata wasn’t even winded as he stood across from her.  This was the revenge she wanted. The second round of the battle tournament of the Sports Festival.
“Come on, Togata. Give me everything you have. Otherwise, I swear I won’t ever forgive you. I’ve given everything to be here. So, extend that courtesy to me,” Y/N said.
She knew he wasn’t taking her seriously. Though, she landed a few hits and gave 100% percentage to her energy attacks. She couldn’t say the same for him. His punches and his overall speed were too slow. She knew he was capable of being faster than what he was displaying right now. Her words affected him, as his face lost the pensive look and a look of concentration overcame it.
She remembered the humiliating defeat by him in second year. A blonde blur, a scream of “Poweeeerrr!” and Y/N was knocked out of the ring. She wasn’t even able to display her growth or how much she improved from the 1st year.
However, this year Y/N showcased everything she learned in U.A. and she showed everyone in Japan that Y/N was ready to be a Pro Hero. When she would lose to Mirio and she knew she was going to, Y/N had no regrets.
Y/N raised her hands to gather the energy from the LED lights in the arena as they blew out one by one overwhelmed by her quirk. She felt the energy rush through her body and readied herself for a charge at Mirio. This time she would lose on her own terms.
 September
Y/N sat nervously on Mirio’s dorm room bed and watched as he scrambled around his room to get her birthday gift. She had gone home last weekend to spend her birthday with her family, so this was the only time Mirio had to give it to her. His relationship with her was still pensive. Y/N didn’t scream at him to leave her alone and she stopped calling him Togata. Most of all that bitterness dissolved after the Sports Festival, there was no reason to keep him at arm’s length anymore. Still, there was a degree of unsureness, Mirio being too afraid to set her off again and she too unexperienced on how to properly convey her feelings.
Mirio came back with a small gift bag that he held out for her. Y/N took and peered into it to see an assortment of chocolate.
“Remember how I would send you those bouquets and you never kept them except for the chocolate in it? I thought this time I would give you something you would want to keep.”
Y/N couldn’t help but chuckle. Mirio smiled goofily in return, satisfied that he had made her happy. She wanted to do something in return to show him how happy she was. Y/N leaned forward to kiss him on his cheeks, while at the same time Mirio purposely turned his face so she could kiss his lips instead.
The touch of his soft lips quickly made Y/N break contact. She turned her blushing face away and was about to quickly run out of his room in embarrassment, when Mirio grabbed her and mashed his face into hers. Their teeth clanged together, and it was soon clear neither had any idea on how to kiss.
Y/N pushed Mirio away and clutched her lips and teeth.
“Mirio! Why did you do that?!” She could feel embarrassment surging within him and a small ounce of shame for hurting her. Feeling bad for her overreaction, Y/N grabbed his hands and pulled him close.
“I-I think we should try again and maybe a little bit slower. Like how they do on TV dramas,” she said as she coaxed him into trying again.
Mirio gave her a small peck, withdrawing to see Y/N’s reaction. She nodded in encouragement, excited he continued to slowly give her kisses that caused her to chase him and eagerly respond to his ministrations. He caressed her cheeks and snaked his hand down to her waist to pull her close. Licking her lips and asking for permission to enter, Mirio entangled his tongue with hers as it sensuously made contact and cajoled her to respond. Following Mirio’s lead she responded back to each lick, feeling her body get hotter and hotter. Wanting to get closer to his body, she sat on top him and wrapped her legs around his waist. They continued to slowly kiss; Y/N liked this attempt immensely compared to their first one. Mirio wanting to feel her, grabbed Y/N’s hand and placed it on his member. Y/N curiously touched it, wondering what she was touching that was so hard and warm. She broke contact from his lips and looked down at her hand. ‘OH MY GOD. I’M Touching A MAN’s PENIS!’ she thought hysterically. She poked it a couple times, finding it rock solid and admiring the length of it. Her tiny hands couldn’t even fit most of it. Mirio startled her out of thoughts when he placed his hands onto hers and started moving them along with him.
“Like this, Y/N, ok?”
Y/N short-circuited realizing what Mirio was asking from her. ‘Oh god, we are doing this now? Are we going to have sex!! That thing is going to fit inside of me? I’m going to die!!’ her thoughts spiraled and made Y/N panic. She quickly disentangled herself from Mirio, ignoring his grunt and his confused call of her name. Y/N grabbed her gift, not forgetting to say a quick thank you to Mirio before hightailing it out of his room and back to the sanctity of her own dorm.
 December
Y/N waited anxiously outside in the cold, windy afternoon. Yesterday’s snowfall had already covered the entirety of the park, most kids were playing in the snow. Either making snowman or trying to hit their friends with snowballs. She huffed out a few breaths, watching as her warm exhales became smoke. She overheard footsteps and saw Mirio heading her way. Y/N sighed, relieved that he had showed up. Ever since a month ago Mirio had lost his quirk and Sir Nighteye, he had been avoiding her. She wasn’t the best person when it came to comfort, so she figured he needed time on his own. But as weeks went by without any sight of his blond hair or blue eyes, she couldn’t help but worry. So, Y/N had tracked him down and called him out during lunchtime just like he did so many months ago and made him promise to meet at the local park so they could talk things out.
She stood up to greet him, but he just motioned for her to sit back down and took a seat besides her on the park bench.
“Hey, Mirio. How have you been? We haven’t talked in a while,” Y/N cautiously began.
“Well, you are my soulmate. You probably know better than me how I’ve been this past month,” Mirio said quietly.
It was true, she felt his sorrow and loss like an aching pain in her chest. Y/N knew he went around school acting happy go lucky, but she knew he couldn’t fool her or himself.
“That’s true and its probably why I was so worried-“ Y/N began.
Mirio interrupted, “Worried? Why? You must be happy that I lost my quirk. No more competition!” He let out a weak chuckle.
Y/N couldn’t help the hurt that rose in her despite it being a fair assessment. She had treated him terribly, the fact he was lashing out at her now just showed how much patience Mirio really had. She swallowed the lump that had arose from her needing to cry because this wasn’t about her or her feelings now.
She turned to him, watching as his face twisted with guilt and he opened his mouth. Y/N cut him off.
“I know. You can throw everything at me, Mirio. I will take it if that’s what it takes for you to feel better. I don’t know what to do or what to say to make you feel like your old self again. I’m not good at any of this. But I don’t want you to feel like you have to be alone. Don’t shut me out,” she pleaded.
Y/N saw the way the shine returned to his dull eyes and the soft blush that made its way to his face. He was looking at her like he had never seen her before. She could feel her own cheeks heat up due to the unnerving way he was looking at her. Mirio leaned forward as if to kiss her when Y/N put a hand to his chest to stop him and turned her face away.
“We can’t we’re in a park. There’s too many people,” she whispered.
Mirio let out a boyish giggle. “Right, sorry.”
She toyed with her fingers as a thought occurred to her. “Do you wanna go to my house instead? It’s nearby, we can warm up and get some hot chocolate.”
Mirio at the thought of seeing the place where Y/N had grown up shyly agreed. They both got up and walked for 15 minutes before coming to a modest house. She unlocked the outdoor gate and let them both in. They went up the steps before Y/N unlocked the door.
“No one’s home it’s just me,” she said as she turned the house’s light on and started to prepare some hot chocolate for them both.
Mirio made himself home in the living room as he snooped around and looked at the various pictures of a younger Y/N. She came back with 2 hot chocolates. Mirio thanked her and steadily drank the hot chocolate. Y/N sat next to him and observed him as she finished hers. Though, her earlier words lifted his mood, she could tell that her distraction was only temporary.
“Mirio,” she began as he looked up at her, “I wish I could do more for you. I feel everything, all your pain and I can’t imagine what it’s like for you. I wish I can take it away even just for a while.”
Mirio looked at her seriously and put his drink on coffee table. He grabbed Y/N’s drink and put that on the table as well. She just looked at him in confusion as she hadn’t finished yet. Mirio grabbed her by the waist and pulled her close. Y/N blushed at their proximity as her breasts were squished against his firm chest.
“I know what you can do for me, Y/N..,” he trailed off as he leaned in close to kiss her. She closed her eyes as his soft lips connected. She could taste the remnants of the hot chocolate on his lips as she desperately responded back. She clutched him tightly as she couldn’t remember the last time he held and kissed her. Y/N didn’t think it was possible to miss someone so much who wasn’t her immediate family let alone someone she used to hate. Her fingers dug into his soft hair as she tightened her hold and pulled. Mirio let out a groan in response and rolled his hips into hers. He disengaged from her and quickly kissed her cheeks, forehead, and nose in succession.
Mirio panted. “Y/N, please I need you.” She blushed as she knew what he was asking from her. “I-I’ve never…,” she trailed off.
“Neither have I, we’ll go slow. I promise I won’t hurt you,” he said. Y/N nodded, giving him consent. Mirio pushed back one of the curls on her face and brought her close enough for him to kiss. Giving a nip to her lips, he explored the inside of her mouth, still tasting the chocolate. She moaned into the kiss and messed with the hoody he was wearing, trying to get to the smooth skin underneath. He tried to help her take off while still kissing her hard. He broke away in frustration when the hoody wouldn’t budge.
“Wait maybe we should take this to my room,” she suggested. He liked the idea at least they would know beforehand if they were about to get interrupted.
Mirio tried to get Y/N to let him carry her bridal style up the stairs like in the movies, but she adamantly refused. She led them to a very pink and feminine room unlike the fierce Y/N he had gotten to know. Y/N stood in awkward silence not knowing what to do when they had arrived in the room. Mirio taking the lead, took off his hoody and his jeans. He immediately went over to Y/N to help her take off her clothes. She tried to protest but it got muffled by a kiss.
Hoisting Y/N in his arms, he dropped her delicately onto her bed. It was medium size just enough room for both. Mirio couldn’t help himself as he let his hands roam the entirety of her soft skin. Her heaving breasts caught his attention as she looked at him with dilated eyes. He tugged the cups of the bra just a tiny bit for her cleavage to spill over, He bit and sucked them, leaving red marks all over. Y/N let out a whimper as he continued his ministration on the other breast. Mirio moved her legs aside, allowing his body to settle in nicely between her thighs. Slipping his fingers into her panties, he immaturely explored her.
“Like this,” she said as she showed him what she liked best. Wanting to see all of her, he slipped off her panties and snapped off her bra with ease, tossing them somewhere in the room. The two teens continued to explore every inch of their soulmate. From the beginning they were connected by their minds and hearts, now they were crossing the final threshold of their bodies. Preparing Y/N had paid off as he inspected his fingers that were wet with her essence. Curious he tasted the wetness and discovered he liked the tangy flavor. He wanted to lick up all of it, to savor the taste, but that was something he wanted to try out in the future. Mirio shimmied out of his boxers as he lined up his member with her center. He felt her tense, so he whispered reassurances as he stroked her face.
Y/N felt his member slip a few times before he finally got it into her. The initial pinch startled her before she forced herself to breath and relax. Mirio didn’t lie, he went slow prioritizing her needs over his own. Y/N hardly felt a pinch when he broke through her membrane and filled her up to the brim. She raked her short nails down his back, causing him to buck into her. She gasped at the sudden movement.
“Y/N, don’t do that, love,” he panted into her neck.  Y/N flushed at the impromptu nickname Mirio had bestowed upon her.
He waited a few minutes before trying out short, shallow thrusts to see if she flinched in pain and seeing her writhe and moan gave him the signal to move.
Mirio tried out different rhythms to see what she liked first, matching his thrusts to her reactions. When he lifted up her hips a bit and hit a particular spot that had her gasping and tightening her hold on the bedsheets, he hit that spot over and over in a frenzy. It wasn’t long before Y/N became a babbling mess as she came all over his penetrating member.
SLAM
Mirio lifted his head up in confusion when he heard the slam of a door and muffled talking.
“Y/N! Is that you? Okasan and Otousan are home. Come downstairs we brought food!” Y/N’s mother called out.
Y/N looked at Mirio in panic. She tried to push him off so she could get dressed and go downstairs to greet her parents.
Instead he held her hips tight as he slammed into her over and over, muffling his moans by biting onto her shoulder.
“Mirio! Ahh, what are you doing? We’ll get caught,” she said.
Letting her shoulder go, he whispered back, “just a little more I’m so close.”
When she didn’t say anything else, Mirio took as a sign to keep going so he chased his own pleasure. It wasn’t too long before he pulled out and came in the junction of her thighs.
Luckily for the teens, they were both able to get dressed and downstairs in time for Y/N to introduce Mirio as her soulmate. Her parents were delighted to meet him, and Y/N flushed with happiness knowing that her parents approved of him. Though, she didn’t notice how her mother kept sending them suspicious glances when she noticed the bite mark on Y/N’s neck.
 March
Mirio’s tousan watched in absolute happiness as his son graduated from U.A. Who knew his son would one day graduate from the most prestigious hero school in Japan?
He looked around for his tall, blonde son as many graduates filled in from the auditorium outside in the sun to find their parents.
He finally found his wayward son and was about to call out to him when he noticed his son holding and teasing a girl. She seemed very frustrated, gesturing wildly and pointing at him in anger. Mirio just laughed and hugged her. What was even more astonishing was that Mirio kissed her forehead and the girl blushed and yelled at him some more before she stomped away. So that was his soulmate.
He remembered how his son came home one day in jubilation and explained everything in one breath. Though, Mirio seem to be disheartened when he explained how his soulmate didn’t seem to like him. Mirio’s tousan just laughed in glee and Mirio watched him in confusion.
He went on to explain how Mirio’s okasan hated him at first glance and threw a glass of water at him when she discovered her soulmate. He remembered how each day he would do everything to win her heart over and he encouraged Mirio to do the same. He smiled now knowing that Mirio had won his soulmate over just like he did his.

“Y/N! I’m back!” a shout comes from the hall and a loud bang of the door closing shut announces Gwil’s return.
You struggle to get to your feet but the moment your weight shifts to your injured ankle, you hiss through gritted teeth. There is not much left to do but to remain on the couch, nonchalantly sprawled out as if the position you’ve gotten into was intended.
“Erm, Y/N?” Gwil makes a move to the kitchen when he stops dead in his tracks as he spots you lying on the couch, your legs swung over the armrest in an awkward angle.
“Did you get the ice cream?” you ask innocently to divert his attention from the obvious mishap you’ve managed to cause in his 10-minute-long absence.
His brows furrow and he licks his lips before he responds. “Yes, I did. Care to explain what you’re doing here?”
“Oh, haven’t you heard about the new yoga position?” The whole situation is so bizarre, you can’t prevent a small giggle from escaping you. “Lying sideways on a couch with one arm squashed between your body and the cushion, and with your legs hanging over the armrest in a way to successfully feel the blood in your legs draining away so that you’re sure you’re gonna have pins and needles in them afterwards for hours, well… That’s the good stuff right there, man.” Your eyes sparkle with glee and, to continue in your blatant lie, you mean to throw your hair over your shoulder as if to imply there’s no room for arguing and that the conversation is over, but as you jerk your head, instead of your hair flawlessly flying around your face in a perfect way, it gets stuck underneath your shoulder and you smack your head against a throw pillow.
Despite your burst of giggles being muffled by the pillow, your laughter is evident in the way your body uncontrollably shakes on the coach.
Gwilym is laughing now too and after quickly discarding the grocery bags at the kitchen island, he rushes to your side. With one of his strong arms supporting your back and his warm fingers taking a hold of your hand, he helps you stand up, an occasional giggle escaping either his or your lips, and sets you down again. He takes a seat right next to you and throws you a quizzical look, his eyebrows arched in question and a glint of amusement still present in his blue eyes.
You let your gaze rest on his face for a moment before you spit out the truth.
“Okay, fine. I just wanted to get us some popcorn and I couldn’t recall where exactly I left it the last time the girls were over for a movie night. So, I figured I might as well find it myself. But I couldn’t find the bloody crutches…” you trail off and throw your arms in a dismissive gesture.
“Although I bet the picture of you jumping on one foot just to promptly crash down on the sofa must have been hilarious,” he starts and nudges you with his shoulder, “you should have waited for me, I’m sure I would be able to find the popcorn myself,” he continues softly and brushes a strand of your hair that has fallen to your eyes.
“Well, you were already getting the ice cream I’d sent you for, so.” You shrug and shake your head. “I guess,” you pause and look around your living room, which is uncharacteristically tidied up, the result of Gwilym’s frequent visits he’s been paying you every day since the accident. Your life hasn’t been the same since he moved next door, has it? “Nevermind.” You give him a smile, but it’s not quite reaching your eyes. “What are we having for dinner?” you ask instead, hoping he’ll drop the previous subject.
That earns you a wide grin from Gwil and you release a sigh of relief. He promptly stands up to rummage through the bags he’s brought with him; the rustle of his socks against the carpet has become a familiar sound by now.
“Ta da!” He turns around to reveal two packages of frozen vegetables.
“Really?” You can’t believe this man. “Really?” you echo with disbelief seeping to your voice.
“What?” he tries defensively. “Ever since our journey to the hospital, I’ve been craving some good ol’ risotto. And since you didn’t let me cook it for you that night from our makeshift ice-packages, I had to go and buy new ones.” He moves to the kitchen area and starts storing various items into their designated places. God, a week in your kitchen and he already knows what needs to be put where, probably orienting there much better than you do.
“The vegetable had been out of the freezer for several hours so by the time we got back, it had turned into a mush and you know it,” you shout at him to the kitchen, your voice louder so as to howl down the kitchen cabinets being open and closed again.
Gwilym’s head peers over the kitchen island.
“Spoilsport.”
“I’ve still got one hand that’s alright so don’t be surprised when a pillow lands on your head,” you say matter-of-factly but reach for remote control to turn on the telly.
“I doubt that, I know your aim,” he answers after a minute, busying himself with the meal preparations.
Oh, really? Well, in that case…
You grab one of the cushions and toss it in his direction, but it plops down on the kitchen tiles, a good six feet away from him. Gwil barks out a laugh and you groan in defeat, but when he bends down to lift the pillow from the floor and get even with you, it’s your turn to laugh out loud when the pillow almost knocks down a rubber tree standing in the opposite corner of the room.
“I’m making dinner, okay, I’m distracted!” he explains, a shy smile playing on his lips.
“And I’m injured,” you retort in the same manner.
“Peace?” he asks softly and arches his eyebrows.
“Peace,” you agree, smiling, and let him get back to cooking dinner for you.
Mindlessly flicking through the channels, you watch Gwil from the corner of your eye as he turns on the stove and tosses the vegetable into a frying pan, the water with rice already bubbling in the background.
You get lost in your thoughts as they swirl in your mind with pictures of the last couple of days.
Gwilym’s kept his promise and has been coming over to your place practically every day. Apart from cooking and keeping your flat clean and tidy, which is something you will be forever grateful for because with both of those chores you just can’t be particularly bothered even when your ankle isn’t protesting with every little movement, Gwilym has been most of all keeping you company. Jane and Charlotte have popped by every now and then to help you with showering (the bloody tube, why not just install a shower stall?) or to spend the movie night at yours on one occasion, for which Gwil has always retired to his own apartment, not meaning to intrude on your tradition.
One night, he also invited Ben to come over, of course with your permission, and all three of you played several board games. You’ve tried to repay Gwil’s care by helping him run his lines for his auditions. At first, you were absolutely awful, giggling and feeling warmth spreading across your cheeks, but soon enough you got the hang of it and managed to read the lines with pretended professionalism.
You and Gwil have also started watching several TV shows, especially the cooking and home design ones, which were the best to turn your brains off to (and occasionally doze off to) in the late evenings. Being the gentleman he is, Gwil refused to join you in your bed at first and watched the screen of your laptop form the chair snuggled in the corner of your bedroom. But eventually, he yielded to your pleading eyes and stubborn refusal to press play until he stopped being so silly. Nonetheless, he has always made sure to lie carefully on the covers of your bed even though you were tucked in so that there has remained a duvet between your bodies. Every now and then he fussed for a minute with pillows that were supporting your foot to make sure that your ankle remained elevated just to give you a sheepish smile when he noticed you were watching him with amusement.
You’re smiling now too at the picture of his lovely eyes adorned with small wrinkles in the outer corners. Holding the TV remote still in your hand, you realise you can’t find anything of interest and so you turn the TV off again.
Besides, the dinner is almost ready based on the delicious smell.
~
“So, who was it?” Jane asks matter-of-factly as she stretches her arms for you to lean on.
“That was Gwil.” Grabbing her forearms, you carefully swing your injured leg over the bathtub rim. “I must have mentioned him,” you add quickly when Jane cocks her perfectly shaped eyebrow. You avoid the eye-contact, suddenly focused on making sure the knot on the towel wrapped around your torso is tied properly.
“No, you haven’t. All you said was that your neighbour had been taking care of you.” Slinking your arm around her shoulders, you shift your weight and get yourself out of the bathtub completely. You pull your face at the odd sensation in your ankle, the pain you have been gradually becoming used to. “I only assumed you were talking about Mrs Thompson from 3A. You’re not the type to befriend your neighbours so eagerly.”
You let the last remark slip and berate yourself inwardly for not telling Jane the identity of your nurse/cleaner/companion sooner. Now it looks like you have kept it from her because there was a reason to. Which there was not. Nuh-uh.
You could have been spared of this conversation, had they not bumped into each other at your door as Jane was letting herself in and Gwil was leaving for his own flat. If only you hadn’t been so selfish, happy to be in his company, and would have let him go a few minutes sooner.
“So, who is he?” Jane presses and takes another towel from a nearby handle to wrap it around your shoulders.
No longer having the strength to keep upright, you perch yourself on the bathtub edge, the cold porcelain causing goose bumps on your thighs. “I already told you.”
“You know what I mean.”
“Look, he’s just a friend, okay?” you finally give up. “He’s helping me with cooking and tidying up and overall, he’s just keeping me company. He’s currently looking for a job, which means that when he’s not auditioning for a role, he’s usually home anyway, so why not hang out together? So yes, he’s my friend.”
“I’m your friend, too, you know?” Jane offers.
“But you’ve got a full-time job and live several bus and tube stops away, not next door. It’s just a matter of proximity.”
“Aaand, what kind of proximity are we talking about here?” Jane’s eyes glint mischievously, and you spray her with droplets of water that have been clinging to your fingers. “Fine, fine,” she laughs and before handing you your bathrobe, she wipes her slightly damp face into it, which earns her a displeased groan from you.
“Okay, I’ll drop it,” she continues once she settles you on the coach, “but you can bet I’m telling Charlotte.”
You roll your eyes, but do not argue. The moment Jane makes up her mind, there’s not much you can do about it.
“Speaking of Charlotte, anything new about her birthday party?”
“I thought you would never ask!” Her eyes sparkle and she pulls out a thick notebook from her purse. “I’ve got so many ideas. Okay, hear me out. Glitter.”
“No,” you laugh out loud.
“Come on!”
“No, I’ve got the veto and I’m exercising it right now.”
“Urgh, fine.” She turns several pages. No way the idea revolving around glitter has been so elaborated.
“A movie night party?”
“We all have had a movie-themed birthday party. And I think Charlotte’s had two already.”
“Okay, not a movie night.” She crosses out the line in her notepad and is leafing through it some more.
“Jungle.”
“Jungle?”
“Yeah, jungle. Remember, when she had visited the Panama islands, she just couldn’t stop gushing over it. Her flat is already filled with hundreds of plants so as for the decoration, we don’t have to do much. Just a couple of balloons, fruity drinks and sweets, maybe we can set the thermostat to a higher temperature. And if we don’t manage to clean it up there in time, we can say it’s just part of the décor, right?”
“I kinda like it,” you admit with a smile and Jane’s winning grin seals the deal. “Yeah, I can imagine it. Yellow and dark green balloons, some more plants, fruity drinks. I’m on board.”
“Great! And it’s not going to be so expensive either, which is more than appreciated. By the way, how are you doing financially? Is there anything I can do in this respect?”
“No, there’s no need, thank you,” you wave her off. “The sick leave is not so bad, and I’ve still got the money my grandpa left me.”
“Wait, you’ve still got that?”
“Yeah, I couldn’t figure out what to spend it on. I’ve got everything I need; you see. But I guess it’s losing its worth as time goes by. I should invest it rather sooner than later.”
“Sounds right to me.” She gives it some thought. “Oh, maybe we could throw a massive birthday party for Charlotte!”
“Look, I love you both, but no,” you giggle.
“It was worth a try,” she chirps. “We’ll plan the details next time I come around to help you shower?”
“Actually, I’m getting much better with the crunches; the wrist has almost healed. So next time, it’s gonna be without the striptease for free for you, I’m afraid.”
“Ah, dang it, you’ll rob me of the highlight of my week.”
~
You look up from your laptop screen and give Gwil a questioning look as he enters your bedroom, dragging his bag and jacket behind him. He simply drops them on the floor and crashes down next to you. Promptly closing his eyes and releasing a deep sigh, he goes motionless.
“That bad?” you ask after a few seconds of silence.
“The worst,” he groans and drags his hand down his face.
“I’m sorry,” you whisper back and rub your palm against his shoulder. He peers with one eye over his splayed hand at you and the line between his brows deepens.
“It was awful,” he huffs and proceeds to stare at the ceiling as his fingers remain on his jaw.
“Wanna talk about it?” you ask and place your laptop on the floor before you twist on your side and give Gwil your complete attention.
"Yes,” he responds eventually. “Or no. Yes. I don’t know.”
“Well, we’ve got time, and if you don’t want to talk about it, that’s fine too.”
You mean to give him a reassuring hug but because of your position on the bed, it ends up looking as if you were cuddling up to him. Once you realise your mistake, you shuffle a few inches back. Your palm, however, warm and reassuring, remains on Gwil’s chest.
“It was awful,” he echoes and turns his head to look into your eyes. “Ben and I had been waiting ages for the casting director to show up and when he did, he wasn’t ready at all, kept calling me ‘Will’, yelled at me for not reading my lines when it actually wasn’t my cue, overall dismissed my approach to the character and then he just waved me off. This time, he didn’t even bother to tell me I would be hearing from them soon.”
Your thumb starts drawing soothing circles on Gwilym’s chest as any words of reassurance die in your throat.
“I’d been nervous about that audition the whole day and for what reason?”
“Well,” you try, sure that nothing you will just say can elevate his mood. You have found out a few days ago, that the best cure for Gwil’s brooding isa  small glass of something stronger and good night sleep. But you could not exactly stay silent. “If it was really the worst, if you really reached the deep, deep bottom, then it can only get better, right?” You nudge him gently and give him a small smile which he reciprocates.
“Right,” he sighs, and his gaze falls again.
“Shall I get out the tumblers?”
“Not really,” he pauses and ponders over it. “Can we just watch something?”
“Sure!” you agree eagerly and dive down to retrieve your laptop. Quickly searching for a festive episode of Bake Off, you place the laptop on your thighs, rotating it so that Gwil can see, and after a few minutes of making up your mind, you press yourself to Gwil’s side. Although you are aware that it is going to take some time for the clouds on his brows to evaporate, a warm touch might help at least a bit.
After the first Bake Off challenge, Gwil snakes his arms beneath you and wraps it around your shoulders, giving you a squeeze. And several minutes later, he feels exhaustion creeping up at him, the stressful events of the day finally taking their toll. He tries to fight the sleep, but he knows it is a losing battle.
~
A heavy weight of darkness falls on your chest and pins you down. You make an attempt to take a deep breath, but the invisible rock crashes you down. Pushing your arms upwards, you try to fight the suffocating darkness, but your palms are met with cold emptiness. Your mouth falls open and a strangled whimper escapes you, then another, until you’re screaming at the top your lungs despite making no sound at all. Your blood rushing in your ears and your heart pounding loudly is cut through with a voice calling your name.
“Y/N!”
You jerk yourself to sit upright in your bed, gasping for breath with eyes wide open. You pull a face at the pain shooting in your wrist and ankle.
A pair of warm arms wrap around your torso, fingers gently stroke your sides and every slow caress wipes the god-awful nightmare far away.
“You’re good, everything is alright, you’re not alone, I’m here,” Gwil keeps muttering into your hair as he presses you to his side, his embrace firm, letting you know that everything he says is true. Taking a deep breath, you burrow your head into the crook of his neck. There are tears in the corner of your eyes but you blink them away and if one or two teardrops fall down your cheeks, they disappear on Gwil’s t-shirt, turning the material one shade darker, which no one can see anyway in the blackness-filled bedroom.
“I’m so sorry,” you whisper almost inaudibly against Gwilym’s chest once you calm down and at first, you’re not even sure whether he has heard you.
After a beat of silence, you hear the soft murmur of his voice. “Oh, darling, you have nothing to apologise for. What do you need? A glass of water? Maybe I should turn on the lights?”
“No, no, just –” you take a shaking breath, “just don’t go,” you breathe out eventually.
“Never,” he says and plants a soft kiss on the crown of your head.
~
Next morning, a ray of sunshine tickles your nose. You make a face, your eyes squeezing and nose scrunching up, and shuffle further away from the window to find retreat in a shadow. You slowly open your eyes and feel the dryness in your throat. Last night surges forward in your thoughts and you are filled with mixed feelings. Loneliness, shame, connection, relief, content.
Rolling over, you almost lie down on Gwilym’s hand, his arm stretched out before him, crossing the gap between your bodies, as soft snores leave his mouth every few seconds. His sleeping state allows you to take a proper look at his face. His piercing dark blue eyes are usually those that capture your attention but now when they are hidden behind the eyelids, you get the opportunity to inspect his face more carefully. Your eyes follow the lines of his prominent nose and cheekbones, spotting the birthmark on his right cheek, and fall on his pink lips, which are slightly open in his sleep. You have to smile; he looks utterly adorable. And you are positively grinning when he hums and smacks his lips.
“Good morning,” you whisper softly in case he has not woken up yet. But an almost inaudible groan confirms your suspicion.
He blinks away his sleep and gulps, his Adam’s apple bobbing, before his gaze falls on your face.
“Good morning,” he replies and brings his outstretched arm towards you to let his hand rub gently your shoulder. “How are you feeling?”
“Fine,” you admit truthfully and give him a smile. Meanwhile, your hand clasps over his. “You?”
“Yeah, I’m alright,” he says and looks up at you through his eyelashes.
You only nod but remain silent as you relish in the peaceful moment. None of you dares to move, certain that once you do so, the spell under which you both are will break. But at the same time, you long to bring him closer to you, to cross the invisible wall that is between you, the wall built from unspoken truths and confessions. However, you also realise how precarious it is to give in to that thought. The analogy of playing with fire comes to your mind but you frown inwardly, not entirely certain it fits. No, you feel the pull and you are sure so does he, the intangible power bringing you to one another. You picture yourself as a child playing with magnets and holding them in each hand to feel them inching closer. But both remain in safe vicinity so as not to jump in your hands and attach to each other. If that happens, you know there is no going back, the force too strong to allow them to let go on their own accord.
“Jane was here yesterday,” you whisper eventually, your head going around with everything that goes on in your mind.
“Yeah?” Gwilym’s eyes flick to yours.
“Yeah. We’re going to organise a jungle-themed party for Charlotte.”
“Nice,” he says appreciatively and gives you a smile. “You still wanna bake that cake? I think we could replace blueberries and raspberries with pineapple, kiwi, and maybe mango?”
A smile tugs at the corners of your lips and you squeeze his hand that you still hold in yours. “I would love that.”

Another day, another village saved.
It had been evening when the battle with the forces of Múspell came to an end, the last of the opposing army retreating. As thanks, the villagers opened their only inn to the Order of Heroes, inviting them to stay the night and recuperate, before resuming travel early next morning. They accepted, seeing as most of their forces were exhausted from the day’s events. Pitching tents, tending fires, and eating rations hadn’t sounded appealing to any of them in the slightest.
Alfonse was thankful for their hospitality, not to mention eager to get some much needed rest. Only to learn that the villagers were so moved over being saved by the Order, they were throwing a feast in their honour. Apparently, they refused to take no for an answer. (Though he doubts his sister put up much of a fight when approached by the village elders.)
Which is how the Prince of Askr finds himself nursing a mug of ale, watching the festivities and wondering when would be the appropriate time to retire for the night.
The villagers had done a fine job, considering how impromptu the feast was. A bonfire roared in the center of the village, bathing the square in hues of red, orange, and gold. Tables were erected nearby, full to the brim with various foods. One of the villagers had brought out their lyre and was playing a jovial ditty, while children and adults alike danced merrily to the tune.
Sharena is among the revelers, having shed her armour for one of the dresses she’d packed for the journey. (Alfonse had raised a brow at her luggage and told her such finery wasn’t necessary, not when they were setting out to defeat Surtr and his forces. It seemed he was the wrong one.) Her hair is twisted into a braid and decorated with flowers by the young children who had taken to following after her like ducklings would their mother. One of her little admirers is in her arms, head thrown back in laughter as they are swung about.
He spots other familiar faces nearby as well. Commander Anna is engaged in friendly conversation with one of the villagers, a woman. Camilla of the World of Conquest is sampling some of the desserts, licking the sugar that dusts her fingers with relish. Frederick of the World of Awakening appears as uncomfortable as Alfonse feels, standing on the fringes with his hands clasped behind his back and still in full armour.
The only one missing is you, the Summoner. It has been some time since he had spoken to you last. He’d caught glimpses of you at the start of the feast, but he had been too busy conversing with the village elders alongside Sharena to approach you. Though he glances around, he doesn’t see hide nor hair of you.
Had you decided to cut the night short?
Suddenly, sticking around sounds even less appealing. He’s done his rounds, chatted with villagers and fellow Order members, and thanked the right people. Surely his duties are complete. He thinks wistfully of his room at the inn. It isn’t as spacious as the one back home, but a bed is a bed, and he’s tired.
Just as he considers retreating, not unlike the Múspell forces had, he feels a presence at his side. “Well, if it isn’t the life of the party.” He glances over to see your smiling visage.
You’re out of your summoner’s cloak, wearing a fetching tunic and pair of pants. A flower is tucked behind your ear; perhaps the children had gotten to you as well. Your skin glows in the firelight, which is reflected in your eyes.
Alfonse finds his gaze lingering on your form for longer than appropriate. He clears his throat, turning away. “I would hardly refer to myself as such.”
“I know, I was joking.” You sound amused. There’s a pause, wherein Alfonse curses himself for not realizing your words had been in jest, before you capture his attention again. “That title would go to your sister, I think.”
That piques his curiosity. He seeks out Sharena for a second time. She’s still dancing with the children. His sister is twirling one of the girls, a beaming grin on her features. It can’t be clearer how much she’s enjoying herself.
He smiles at the sight. “Sharena always has been the life of any party. She was over the moon every time we held balls at the castle.”
You knock your shoulder against his. The brief contact has his fingers tightening around the mug he’s holding, a reflexive reaction he can’t control. “Let me guess. You didn’t have much fun at those balls?”
His first instinct is to laugh awkwardly, write your words off as ribbing and leave it at that. But when he looks to you, your head is cocked to the side, your gaze trained on him. You seem to be awaiting a response. As if you genuinely want to know what he was like back when the kingdom of Askr was at peace, and not in the midst of war.
Alfonse gives the diplomatic answer. “I understood their function. It is important for royalty to host events at the castle. They present an opportunity for us to interact with our people and learn how they are faring.” At your expectant look, he admits, “...I didn’t particularly enjoy them, no. Actually, I was often scolded by my mother for leaving early.”
You chuckle at that, but not cruelly. “Huh. I can’t picture you getting in trouble with your mom. But hiding in a corner, so you don’t have to talk to other people?” You look at him pointedly, a teasing slant to your mouth. “That’s easier to imagine.”
Does he really come off that way? He frowns. That isn’t how he wants to appear to anyone, you especially. The thought is a bit disconcerting, because he’s not sure when your opinion of him started to carry such weight.
“It isn’t that I didn’t want to talk to anyone at those events.” He stares out at the crowd, so that he doesn’t have to meet your gaze. “The nobles who attended just confounded me. So many of them are duplicitous. They rarely say what they mean, and often attempt to befriend me for my title. And then there were the rules and conventions that had to be adhered. Sharena was capable of handling all that while still enjoying herself, but it was...difficult for me.”
(It didn’t help that his behaviour usually disappointed his parents, whether it be because he inadvertently snubbed a noble or left before it was appropriate. Now isn’t the time to think of his many failures as a prince, however.)
“Oh.” The quiet sound compels him to look at you. Your merriment from before is gone, your brows furrowed and the corners of your mouth tugged down. “I’m sorry, Alfonse. I didn’t mean to remind you about all that, especially when this is supposed to be a happy occasion.”
He blinks, taken aback, before shaking his head. “N-No, don’t be sorry. You didn’t say anything untoward. If anything, I should apologize for ruining the mood.”
Now you’re the one shaking your head. “You don’t need to apologize for speaking your mind! I asked you about it in the first place, anyway.”
Suddenly, he can’t help smile at the situation. The two of you are members of the Order of Heroes, battle-hardened and assured on the battlefield...but tripping over each other during a simple conversation at a party. “Then I guess neither of us need to be sorry.”
Maybe you realize the absurdity too, because you huff out a laugh. “Yeah, I guess so.”
Conversation comes easier then, the topic at hand turning to how you both spent your time at the feast thus far. You wax poetic about some of the pastries you ate, while he mentions the praises the village elders had for the heroes. There are brief silences in between, but it’s comfortable and not at all stifling.
During one such lull, Alfonse notices that Anna is no longer near the food tables. She’s being led by the hand to the makeshift dance floor, still in the company of the woman she’d been speaking with earlier. She’s smiling from ear to ear, with a lightness to her shoulders that’s rarely present when they travel.
He points the new development out. “Looks like the Commander and her new friend are planning to join Sharena.”
Your brows raise in mild interest, and you glance around for a moment before spotting the women in question. By now they have begun to dance, Anna’s arms twined around her companion’s waist. Your mouth quirks into a grin. “Oh, I doubt either of them are having friendly thoughts right now.”
He frowns. “What do you mean? They look friendly from where I’m standing.”
“Well, yeah, but...” You trail off, taking in his confusion. Then your eyes widen. “Uhhh...You know what? Nevermind! You’re totally right, they are.”
Alfonse gets the feeling that he’s missing something. He decides not to press you on it. Instead, he returns to watching the proceedings. He’s so engrossed in wondering how Sharena has yet to tire herself out, he doesn’t notice you glance from the dance floor to him, your teeth digging into your lip in contemplation.
“You know,” you begin carefully, “maybe we should join them too. As in, on the dance floor.”
It takes a moment for the words to sink in. Then he’s stammering, the nape of his neck warm. “Join them on the...I-I can’t. It’s not that I don’t want to, o-or do, that is to say— I don’t— I’m not a good dancer.”
You smile reassuringly. “That’s okay. I mean, look! Everyone's just dancing to the music!”
That’s the problem, he wants to say. He doesn’t have an aptitude for dance, but the waltz has steps he can follow. Here, in this tiny village so far from the castle, there is no structure to the dancing, villagers and heroes alike making it up as they go. Alfonse knows his two left feet will only embarrass him if he tries to join in.
His trepidation must show, because your smile disappears, a look of worry replacing it. “If you’re not comfortable, though, I’m not gonna force you. We can just stay here.”
He wants nothing more than to agree. But then you glance over at the dancing crowd, looking wistful, and he finds himself saying, “Well. Maybe just for a little bit.”
You turn back to him. “What? Are you sure? You don’t have to say so because of me. Really!”
His flush is spreading to his cheeks, and his mind is conjuring up all the ways he’ll slip up, and he’s afraid of making a fool of himself in front of you. And yet he still sets his mug down at a nearby table, before holding out his hand towards you. “I insist.”
It’s worth the trouble when your face clears up, an excited smile playing at your lips as you take his hand. Your fingers are warm, and a comforting weight on his palm. As one, you both head to the dance floor.
Sharena is the first to notice. Her brows raise in surprise, before she’s grinning at Alfonse with a knowing look. He avoids her gaze, feeling his flush worsen, only to lock eyes with Anna. She waggles her brows. He narrows his eyes, feigning irritation, and turns away.
Then his eyes meet yours. It’s impossible to look away from the warmth he finds there.
You take a step closer, until your chests are nearly brushing. “Here,” you say, so softly he has to strain a little to hear you. “Just do what I do.”
The villager on the lyre is playing a softer song, not quite as fast-paced as the previous ones have been. You guide him into a dance that matches the tempo. He stumbles at first, but you’re patient, smiling encouragingly at him as you continue to lead without issue. Just as confidently as you do on the battlefield. The comparison helps ease some of his anxiety.
Alfonse can feel sweat gathering under the collar of his tunic, from the press of bodies around him, the crackling bonfire, and his nerves. He’s much too cognizant of all the places he’s touching you, and you him. He’s been in close proximity to you before, but never quite like this.
It’s terrifying. It’s maddening. It’s exhilarating.
After some time, you grin. “Look at that! You’re dancing.”
Fondness blooms within his chest at how pleased you are with his success. His lips spread into a smile before he even realizes it. “So I am.”
Eventually, the song ends, only for another to start. Now is the perfect time to pull away, to retire for the night, just as he wanted to earlier. Yet Alfonse continues to follow your lead, despite his two left feet and nervous disposition.
We’re not friends with the Summoner, we’re allies, Alfonse had told his sister once. He’d meant it.
Now, he knows that’s not the case. That hasn’t been the case for a long time.
He doesn’t allow himself to think long about just what it is between the two of you. All he knows is that he wants to indulge in this feeling for as long as he possibly can.

Part 22
“Roman, stop.” Remy stopped besides a tree, folding his arms across his chest and staring right at Roman, who very reluctantly stopped running. He sighed, “We need a plan. I’m not going any further until we have one.”
“But we’re almost there, less than ten minutes now.”
“Exactly!” Remy threw up his hands exasperatedly, “You’ve been putting off making a plan since the beginning, and I haven’t said anything yet, but we’re going to die if we don’t make a plan immediately.”
Roman slumped against a tree in defeat, giving up rather easily; Remy took this as meaning he knew he was right. He stood next to him in silence, giving the other time to think.
“Maybe we could do the same plan as last time?” Roman suggested, “One distracts, the other sneaks in?”
“No way,” Remy laughed, “Babe, I am not getting another arrow to the face. We need to stick together, especially since we need to speak to them anyways.”
“Should we just go knock on the front door?”
“Please say you’re kidding.” Remy rolled his eyes, but then froze. “Wait a second…”
Roman looked confused, “What?”
“Okay so there’s no way they don’t know we’re coming, right?” Remy asked, and Roman nodded. He continued, “If they are prepared, there’s no way we’ll win in a fight against them.”
“Well what are we supposed to do? Just abandon them? There’s no chance of that!”
“No, no,” Remy waved off his concerns, “But they might be worried we’re going to come looking for a fight. Surrendering right off the bat might be the best option.”
Roman’s jaw dropped in horror, and it took all he had to keep his voice low, “No way! We are not walking in defenseless just like that! The Stranger could have hurt Patton and Logan already, and we’ll have no chance to save them!”
“You think you know the Vigilante and the Duke, right?” Remy demanded, “The Stranger is their friend. We’re going to have to try to trust that they are still, or have ever been, the people you know. If they are, then you’re going to have to trust their judgement that they wouldn’t befriend someone who would kidnap and hurt two people just for the hell of it!”
Remy watched Roman carefully, and could practically see the gears turning in his head. It seemed like an eternity passed in only a few seconds, and Roman finally sighed in resignation, agreeing to surrender.
“Alright, fine, we’ll go with your plan.” Roman said, rolling his eyes. He returned his sword to his sheath, “But if anything, and I mean anything, goes wrong then it’s your fault.”
Remy laughed, “Alright girl, sounds good-”
No sooner than the words were out of his mouth, Roman knew Remy regretted them. Roman watched in horror as a figure appeared out of seemingly nowhere, the dark woods providing a good cover, and his fist flew up and hit Remy square in the jaw. Everything happened in just a single moment, and Roman gasped as Remy hit the ground, unconscious.
Roman looked back to the figure. His hat was lowered over his eyes and a cloak was thrown over his shoulders, both colored a deep black. He held a cane in his right hand that Roman didn’t even need to wonder about the effectiveness of; he knew he could use it as a weapon. Roman didn’t recognize the man at all.
“The Stranger,” The words were out of his mouth involuntarily, but he didn’t have any time to worry about them before he had to duck as the cane was swung towards his head. He swept his leg out to trip him, but the Stranger quickly regained his balance and so Roman grabbed his sword. He tried to pull it out, but found himself knocked to the ground with a foot on his chest before he could do anything else.
“Wait!” Roman exclaimed, his mouth moving faster than his brain, falling into desperation. He searched for a way to save himself, and he said the only thing he could think of, “I know Remus and Virgil!”
The Stranger froze. Roman blabbered on, “The Duke and the Vigilante! I knew them before the-before the apocalypse! That’s, uh, that’s why we’re here, we just want to see them! Please!”
“You knew them?” The Stranger asked slowly, calculating. Roman nodded quickly. The foot was removed from his chest, and he cautiously sat up. He knelt on the ground, not quite sure if he would be attacked if he stood. The Stranger was silent.
“Can… Can I see them?” Roman asked quietly. The Stranger took a moment to think, but then he smiled. Roman knew it wasn’t an innocent one.
“If you’re their friend? Of course you and your friend can,” He said, walking back over to Remy. He nudged him with his foot, “But bring him with you.” He instructed.
Roman carefully stood up and approached the other, sitting him up. The Stranger seemed to have a little sympathy and walked over too, helping him carry him so that one of Remy’s arms was over each of their shoulders. Roman quickly grabbed the sunglasses that had fallen to the ground and stuffed them in his pocket to return later. He kept quiet, both terrified and excited, as the group made their way to the cabin.
When they got to the porch of the cabin, the Stranger stopped abruptly, and instructed Roman to leave his weapons behind. Roman started to object, but ultimately knew he would lose. He was really in no place to bargain at the moment anyways, and dropped his bag and sword to the ground. Remy’s hatchet must have been left where he was knocked unconscious, Roman realized, as he also removed his backpack and set it besides his own.
They entered the doorway soon after, and set Remy down on a couch in the front room. Roman took the chance to look around at the interior of the cabin.
It certainly looked a lot different than it had at night. The walls were wooden and dark, and there were several lit candles spread over the room, giving it a yellow tint. There were several chairs spread out over the main room along with the couch, and even a small table in the center. Books were spread out over the table with handwritten notes besides them, Roman noted. The room itself looked cozy.
“Remus and Virgil are in that room,” The Stranger suddenly said, gesturing towards a nearby door. Roman’s face lit up with anticipation, and he ran over to the door instantly. He vaguely remembered one of the voices telling him that the Duke and the Vigilante weren’t with the Stranger at the moment, but set aside those concerns; maybe they had just gotten back, that had been a while ago. He set his hand on the doorknob, closed his eyes, and took a couple deep breaths. He swung the door open.
“Wait,” He said, staring at the set of stairs leading to the basement in front of him. The next thing he knew, a pair of hands had shoved him, and he found himself tumbling down the stairs.
He groaned, rubbing his head and wincing as he tried to pull himself into a sitting position. He gasped in pain as he did so. He rubbed his arm, and heard a familiar voice.
“Roman?” He looked over and saw Logan stand up to run over to him, helping him up. Roman hugged him, ignoring how much it hurt his bruising back, and then looked up to the top of the staircase to see the Stranger carefully setting Remy down on the top step.
“What are you doing?!” Roman demanded, and the Stranger rolled his eyes.
“Obviously I was telling the truth when I said you could see the Vigilante and the Duke,” The Stranger said sarcastically, “It’s not like I have no idea who you are, or what you truly want with them, and of course I should just believe everything you say.”
“Remus is my twin!” Roman exclaimed, gesturing wildly to his own face, “I’m obviously telling the truth! We’re identical! Stop being ridiculous!” Roman felt Logan squeeze his arm reassuringly.
“While I certainly do see the resemblance, he never mentioned a brother.” The Stranger tilted his head to the side, squinting in suspicion at Roman. “Perhaps there was a reason for that.”
Roman glared, teeth clenched in anger and worry. “Just let me see them!”
The Stranger shook his head. “You’ll stay in here until they get back. Then we can figure out what to do with you.”
The door was shut.
Remy and Patton are unconscious. Asks to them will not go through until they awake.
Asks for the Stranger are now open

hihi! my first request! i was excited to do this. i looked up information on your signs and mbti, hopefully that’s all right :)
✩ Boku no Hero Academia
platonically, i match you with . . .
Tumblr media
Iida Tenya
You two would make a great team! You're both reliable and care for the ones around you. While Iida's got the firmness and boldness of a leader you have the charm and the ability to harmonize. You'd work together like clockwork, instructing your classmates and helping them out any way you can.
If there's anyone you can trust, it's Iida. He was your first friend in ua and the first person to gain your trust there. If you don't like to talk much or be the centre of everyone's attention, no worries - he's got you covered so you could always be comfortable!
Honestly, he'll fight/tell off anyone if they're being loud and obnoxious and it's bothering you, no questions asked. We already know even Bakugo isn't a problem for him.
Iida has a strong sense of duty so you being nearby assures him and helps him worry less. Your loyalty is like his own, and it makes him happy someone shares his view on it. He knows he can count on you if there's ever the need.
He can't always tell how you're doing because you don't give away much, so he'll ask if there is a single grain of doubt. It's sweet but you can tell him if he's being too big a worrywart :)c
You explore different book genres together. Be prepared because he gives extremely long and detailed reviews of each one he reads, especially if you were the one who recommended it to him.
Coming from a higher-class family, Iida was likely taught how to play the piano from a young age. Though he doesn't remember much of it now, hearing you play brings back some of his old spark. Once he tries, it's more fun than he recalled.
Will take you to grand piano concerts whose tickets should have already been sold out? Sometimes you meet Yaomomo there too and other times three of you go together. You discuss your opinions on the way back while grabbing a bite to eat.
You can go to his house to practice archery whenever you'd like. His family definitely has a space for it. Iida doesn't know much about the sport himself but will cheer you on nevertheless! He learns all the vocabulary so he can understand when you talk about it.
Study sessions with the two of you are the best. It has gotten to the point where you make sure to announce them beforehand so any of your other friends can join you. you're the saviour duo (-人-)
Runner up: Denki Kaminari
Tumblr media
romantically i match you with . . .
Shinsou Hitoshi
You know i had to. softness: check. dates indoors: check. cats: double check.
You encourage him so much. While he's definitely improved over the series, your support on his goals saves him from moments of doubt and dark thoughts. You gently remind him even the smallest progress pays off in the end, that steadily working on his shortcomings is better than comparing himself to others and doing nothing.
While he knows you're not easily deceived by others, he still keeps an eye out and making sure no one with ill intentions approaches you.
Ironically enough, the first time you met he probably tried to brainwash you during the sports festival. You'd already figured out his quirk though and just smiled at him and sauntered away. Boy was left kind of annoyed but also quite a bit intrigued.
Whether or not you're easily embarrassed doesn't matter cause Shinsou will tease you anyway. He's a little shit and enjoys cracking your mysterious demenour.
Be soft for him. Take his hand, compliment him and run your fingers through his hair. It won't take too long before he's the one subtly trying to hide his flustered face. And if you cuddle him and kiss his cheek while you're napping, I bet those dark circles would be a lot less visible.
Shinsou loves how comfortable you are to be around. He loosens up whenever you're interacting without even noticing it himself. He laughs and smiles more but if you point it out he'll either claim not to know what you're talking about or come up with a way to sidestep the topic smh
You go over to his house to study and see his cats, or vise versa, and before either of you have realized, you're snuggled up, drinking coffee/tea and exchanging book recommendations with a cat purring in your lap. Basically you're on a date now, congratulations! it comes so naturally.
You two just having a good time in a cosy café, people watching and lowkey trying to guess their stories.
He'll gift you with a lot of cute charms, bookmarks and other little things you might need. Shinsou's very observant so even if you don't tell him you'd like something he figures it out one way or the other. He just wants to see you happy.
"This is the same sheet music folder I've been planning to get. How did you know?"
"Can you imagine? This guy worked his back off asking—”
Shinsou, casually wrapping up a struggling Kaminari: "I just knew you could use a new one"
Everyone else is either lowkey scared of you or thinks you're the coolest couple. You seem like a relaxed but "mess with my s/o and you're dead" pair. Well, it's true for at least one of you.
You guys don't have a lot of pda going on but anybody who knows the two of you believes the compability is incredible. They're jelly.
❋ Kimetsu no Yaiba
Runner up: Izuku Midoriya
Tumblr media
platonically i match you with . . .
First thing's first: the aesthetic you two have? 10/10. Tol and smol but both just emitting a calm and mysterious aura. Extra points cause you seem to have a very classy appearance so that adds to your reserved look!
Gyomei Himejima
Both of you are the type to be mistrustful towards others at first. However, although it may take a little time due to that similarity, once you have warmed up you'll be big softies for each other and it's the sweetest thing.
You dislike the same kind of people so you tend to prefer each other's company. That's probably how you met too, while steering clear from obnoxious people at a meeting. You decided to befriend him since he seemed like a more humble person to talk to.
Gyomei appreciates the way you carry yourself because you remain level-headed and kind. He thinks that is a difficult combination to keep up, as the world is far from being a fair place. Going off your infj-a personality type, he also admires that you focus more on inner peace and improving yourself rather than dwell on your weaknesses.
You are both loyal so you always have each others' backs. Your gentle nature is comforting when he's feeling emotional.
This man never fails to hear you out on your problems and give the best advice. It might not always sound like it cause of how blunt it is, but trust him.
A lot of mutual understanding. Can you read each other's mind at this point? rumors say yes.
You spend a lot of time together in quiet reading sessions. He'll read his scriptures and offer to explain them to you (though he sucks at it. . .) Feel free to rant about what you're reading too!
He'd carry you on his back, arms and shoulders and it's one of the most comfortable things ever. There is not always a reason for it. it's more like a quiet way to show he cares for you.
I can easily imagine you feeding and taking care of several stray cats together. You need to make sure he doesn't accidentally overuse his strength though while playing with them.
It's great you play the piano. Since he can't see you, listening to you play helps Gyomei form an image of you in his mind. Also, your music is therapeutic to him. He'll always come hear you play ♡
Some see you as an otherwordly pair, as in: how are you always so collected and wise? are you beings from another dimension? share your secrets with us.
Hear me out! You said you don't like rude people BUT I think Genya needs someone like you to relax more. He's stiff, short-tempered and awkward so your calm and gentle personality would help him feel at ease.
Genya Shinazugawa
Runner up: Giyuu Tomioka
romantically i match you with . . .
Tumblr media
Tanjirō likely introduced the two of you, yet the first impression wasn't the best. Genya got too nervous, turned away to hide his blush, and ended up not speaking a word which came off as pretty arrogant.
He is so gentle with you! towards you, he's never disrespectful or mean.
But he apologised for his actions soon enough and quickly explained he wasn't very good with talking to girls. With such honesty, it didn't take too long afterwards before you came to trust him. For Genya, trusting you came easily because of how laid-back you were. He could tell you were being honest with him and it was that genuine kindness that sent butterflies into his stomach uwu
Genya's not the most talkative but his smile speaks for itself. He loves listening to you talk though. Then again, he could stare at you while you're reading him the world's most boring book and still be ( ˊᵕˋ )♡.°⑅
Boy will melt at the affection you give him. He’s very blushy about it but grows more comfortable overtime (on most part at least rip) Secretly happy he's one of the only people who gets to see that side of you.
He looks up to you for having traits he lacks BuT his favourite thing about you is your confidence and passion for what you do. it inspires him to become stronger too and confront his brother.
Teaches you how to defend yourself just in case you're in trouble and he's not there. He worries.
Genya thinks it's cool you do archery, cause he does shooting! You guys often chat about your hobbies respectively. Also, showing the other how to aim with their weapon and gently adjusting their position from behind? Yes, please.
Dates would include romantic walks in the woods, picnics and trying out foods from different stands or restaurants. Don't worry though, no one will bother you. With a big guy like Genya next to you, nobody will dare raise a commotion. though you might want to stop him from death-glaring or picking a fight with anyone who talks too loud
Indoor dates also happen a lot and whatever you may be doing, Genya likes to be holding your hand. It's just so small in comparison to his and he loves it (but won't admit it) If you two are cooking or if you're playing the piano, he settles with standing next to you and enjoys your presence (✿◡‿◡ )
In conclusion, a very sweet couple that balances each other out nicely. You being soft and down-to-earth and Genya being more hot-headed but still incredibly caring ♡ Did i mention i'm a sucker for height differences?
thank you for requesting i hope you enjoyed it! i’d appreciate any feedback you might have ♡
Runner up: Tanjirō Kamado

Where Roses Grow (Margaery Tyrell x femme reader) Part 1/2
Tumblr media
Back in King’s Landing with your older sister Sansa, Margaery Tyrell takes a peculiar interest in you. It’s both a blessing and a curse.
You knew your days were numbered, but you had no idea by how much. After your father’s execution Arya had disappeared and so Cersei was determined to keep you and your older sister locked up in the Red Keep. Sansa was no more than a year older than you, but out of the three Stark sisters you were the most rational and responsible. While Sansa had always been off dreaming of being a princess and Arya letting her hot-headedness get her into constant trouble, you had always acted like the calm, neutral mediator. Sansa and Arya always needed someone to balance the two of them, but with the younger of the sisters missing and the two remaining ones traumatized for life, you were finding it pretty difficult to think of ways that you and Sansa could defend yourselves against Joffrey and the queen.
You figured that the two of you would at least be kept alive and used as leverage in a trade after word came of your brother Robb capturing the Kingslayer. But then the Tyrells showed up to assist the Lannister forces in the Battle of the Blackwater and recently widowed Margaery was said to be looking for another husband. As much as you hated Joffrey and would rather die than see your sister married to that monster, you knew that after their engagement was annulled and Robb had refused to give up the Kingslayer that your use to Cersei had lost most of its worth. Since Sansa was the eldest you supposed that she would try to marry her off to someone else in court but as her younger sister you didn’t offer much.
If Sansa was wary of the Tyrells’ intentions to befriend her then you completely against speaking to them at all. However, it was a bit difficult for you to stick to your logical instincts when you couldn’t stop thinking about the Tyrell girl for the life of you. A part of you was secretly giddy that Margaery had invited you and your sister for some afternoon tea, not just once, but a couple of times since she had arrived at the capital. But as much as you wished to believe that she was just truly being friendly, you knew better than to expect that from the future Queen. She wanted something.
“Sansa, you really shouldn’t go. If anything, Cersei will make our lives even worse if she suspects we’re allying ourselves with the Tyrells,” you tried to reason with your sister.
“Elinor, you should give her a chance.”
“You’re not suspicious at all about this?”
“I am, but isn’t it a bit strange to you that some people trying to use us would be so polite about it? I’m just saying that if they wanted something, and I mean really wanted something, they wouldn’t have to go through all of this effort to get it.”
“Sansa!” you tried to grab her as she turned the corner and headed deeper and deeper into the gardens of King’s Landing. From behind a few bushes you could peak out and watch the scene unfolding before you. A couple of Tyrell girls (you believed were distant cousins of Margaery’s or of a lower house) were giggling about something. It made you think about how long it had been since you had seen Sansa laugh too. Needing to get a better angle, you tried to stretch out a bit to the side more. Unfortunately, your feet didn’t really want to cooperate with the rest of your body.
“Oof!” you hit the ground with a thud a lot louder than you would have preferred. Feeling your head spin as you realized you were on the ground, a voice from far away seemed to be calling your name, though you couldn’t make out who it was.
“Lady Elinor!”
She was rushing towards you a bit more quickly than a lady should have been running and the breeze that traveled with her smelt like roses and vanilla creme. “Are you alright? Here, let me help you,” Margaery’s soft voice sounded so worried that it made your heart skip a beat. All you could do was stare at her wide-eyed and as quiet as a mute as you allowed her to grab onto your hands and help pull you up. They were so soft and smooth under your touch that you wondered if a lady like herself had ever even felt the reins of a horse or the bark of a tree before.
“I-I,” was all you could force out while she continued to touch your body with her hands on your shoulders. You knew she was just trying to stabilize you but it was the most sensual thing you had ever felt in your life. How perfect it felt to be held by her even if only for a second.
“Your cheek,” ran her fingers down the left side of your jawbone causing your eyes to flutter. “You’re hurt. And bleeding. Quickly, someone fetch me some water and a rag,” she called to one of the servants nearby.
“Oh, no, my lady, I’m quite alright, I assure you,” your words slurred to the point where they were almost incomprehensible. “Please, I didn’t mean to cause such a scene.”
“Oh nonsense. It’s wonderful to finally meet you. Were you coming to join us for tea?” she asked with a slight hopefulness in her voice that matched her dazzling smile which seemed to make you forget why you had originally declined all of her invitations before. “I can clean your wound as well, it’s really no trouble. In fact, I practically insist. If you leave now I’d be terribly worried about you for the rest of the day.”
“Alright,” is all you can quietly muster up. If it was possible for her to smile even more than she already was then she did as she also took the liberty of linking her bare arm with yours. Her dress was… magnificent to say the least: Sleeveless so you could see her perfectly creamy skin against the rather dull gray colors of your longer sleeved norther attire. Gods, you wished that you could feel her skin on yours at that moment.
“What happened?” Sansa asked before you could sit down at the small table decorated with a variety of pastries.
“Your sister tripped and I’m afraid I couldn’t reach her in time,” Margaery took the liberty of speaking for you, thanks the gods, as the servant came back with a small bowl of water and a towel which she took into her own hands and started to wet. “Now hold still, this may sting a little.”
If it stung the wound at all you would have never known. You were too focused on the feeling of her other hand cupping your opposite cheek as she gently dabbed the towel against the small cut
“And I thought you didn’t want to come,” Sansa muttered to you and you tightened your jaw at her. Of course, she had to start some sort of drama.
“Well, I’m certainly glad that you did come,” Margaery said as she finished cleaning your wound. “I’ve been hoping to meet you two for quite some time.”
The conversation (which mostly consists of Margaery talking to you and Sansa) fades into muffled sounds as you lightly touch your fingers against the cheek that had been resting in her hand if only for a few seconds. There was something warm creeping up inside you that had you on the verge of reaching out and grabbing her hand in yours just like your heart was telling you too. You weren’t used to being under the control of your impulses and couldn’t trust yourself at this moment if your head wasn’t clear. With an abrupt “I’m sorry, please excuse me,” you got up from the table and picked up your skirts to run all the back to your chambers. Not once did you look back; and you couldn’t have even if you were brave enough to.
“Elinor!” you heard Sansa cry but then the sound of your own heart beating faster and faster as you pushed yourself to run without stopping took over. You needed to bury whatever it was that you were feeling immediately or you were afraid that it would kill you before Cersei got the chance.
A few days later, you’d managed to pull your emotions together and get back to a normal routine. It was almost luck that you had been so anxious after your first encounter with Margaery because your nerves soon caused you to fall ill and you couldn’t leave your bedchamber for the next two days. At least that made it easy to explain why you had run off so suddenly that day. “It’s my head and my stomach. I think it’s the heat,” you told your sister when she visited you. There was no reason for her not to believe you so she never asked again, but you worried that Margaery wouldn’t buy the same story.
Now that you could finally leave, (or at least as much as Cersei let you leave within the walls of the Red Keep) you took to one of the quiet courtyards and sat on a bench underneath the shade and propped open your drawing book. You began to draw one of the squirrels scurrying along from tree to tree looking for some food. The ones down south weren’t too different from the ones back home in terms of size, looks, and behavior, but they were a much more rich red color in the capital whereas you were used to drawing black ones.
“You’re very talented,” a soft but surprising voice caused you to jump.
Gods, of course it was her.
“Forgive me, my lady, I didn’t know anyone would come out here.”
“Please, don’t apologize. I should be apologizing for startling you. I’m sorry if I scared you, but I just couldn’t help but admire your drawings. They really are beautiful. I would never be able to create something so life-like it’s simply amazing the gift you have.”
“You are too kind, my lady.”
“Margaery, please,” she insisted.
“Margaery,” you tried your name on your lips and found that you liked the sound of it. “Well, then I insist that you call me Elinor. I’m sorry that our previous introduction was rather… unorthodox to say the least.”
“Don’t be silly,” she chuckled. “You were feeling rather unwell and both your sister and I were quite worried for you when you ran away,” her tone and facial expression took a turn and you saw something that looked a lot like sympathy in her eyes. What you couldn’t decide yet was whether or not you could trust them. “I was so relieved to hear from her that you were feeling better.”
“Yes, well, I have to thank you for being so kind to the both of us and especially my sister. It’s wonderful knowing that she has someone else besides me to talk to and she’s told me how much your friendship has meant to her. I can see it in her eyes too. It’s just been such a long time since she smiled so carelessly,” you smile back at her.
She took both your hands into her own and you tried to hold down a deep gulp of anxiousness and tried to concentrate on the ground. But somehow, her eyes had this magnetic ability that drew yours to look up at her. She was only a few years older than you but at least a good 5 inches or so taller. Unlike Sansa, you hadn’t been blessed with the tall Stark genes and resembled Arya and Jon when it came to height.
“I’d really like to get to know you better too, Elinor,” her voice was serious, but reassuring almost as soft as a whisper. “I know this place… these people have hurt you and your family more than I can understand, but I really am sorry.”
“I just… have to think for the both of us sometimes. Many of those people who seek to hurt us are good at hiding their intentions. And my sister is so naive sometimes that I need to be careful.”
“I understand,” she nods never taking her eyes away. “Sansa is so lucky to have you. I know she’s technically older than you are and we’ve only just met but I believe you’re much wiser than your years; my grandmother thinks so too. But I hope that I can earn your trust, if you’d let me. You’re so beautiful when you smile and I’d love to see that more. I’d love to see you happy.”
You blinked almost furiously just trying to grasp an understanding of her words. But you couldn’t stop the thoughts about her calling you beautiful from flooding into your mind and evolving into much more detailed, almost inappropriate, ideas.
“I think that I’d like that.”
Her smile was real. You didn’t doubt it.
So this was really fluffy I know but the next part is going to be a lot more detailed and explicit if you know what I mean.

“Brother! What are you still doing abed at this hour?” Thor boomed far too early in the morning.  It was only about an hour after dawn.
Loki was just stirring from sleep, still curled around you and not nearly awake enough to deal with his idiot brother.  “Thor? What time is it?” Loki groaned at his idiot brother.  Maybe if he killed Thor hard enough he could go back to sleep.
“It’s time for weapons training!” Thor replied jovially, which told Loki exactly what godawful hour of the morning it was.  The oaf always started at the same early morning hour and always attempted to make Loki do the same.
Loki hated it every single morning.
Loki groaned, annoyed at his idiot brother and tried to go back to sleep.
“Come on, brother, you do not wish to get soft,” Thor goaded, coming to haul Loki out of bed.  He was used to Loki being stubborn about coming to weapons training.
“Your brother is loud,” you murmured without really waking and snuggled better in Loki’s arms.
Loki growls at his brother and pulls a dagger out of nowhere without disturbing you.  “Brother, kindly leave before I decide to stab you.  And you best not wake my lady,” he snarled.
Thor chuckled and, due to his brother being half asleep at best, managed to haul Loki out of bed and thrown over one shoulder, still without waking you, which spoke to how much you needed to recover.  “I think not. Stab fandral instead.  Bucky, Sif, and the warriors three will all be there this morning,” Thor informed his brother.
Loki stabbed Thor in the back for removing him from his comfortable bed and his sleepy love.  “Brother, put me down!” he growled
Thor just sighed in exasperation.  “I really wish you’d stop doing that,” he grumbled and made absolutely no move to put Loki down.
“I will stab you again if you don’t put me down!” Loki snarled.
Thor sighed and growled softly.  “I wish you wouldn’t. Father wants us there and you, my darling brother, are most uncooperative in the mornings,” he tried to keep his tone light and jovial, but he was worried about Odin being there.
“I don’t care what the Allfather wants! My lady is still healing. I don’t want to leave her alone,” Loki protested, drawing another dagger.  He didn’t want to leave you alone when you were vulnerable.  Not with your previous experiences in Asgard.
“She will be safe here, or she can come watch,” Thor countered.
You finally stirred at the two arguing males and sat up, looking up at them with bleary, sleepy eyes.  “Why are you loud?” you asked stupidly, staring at the sight of Loki dangled over Thor’s shoulder, confused.
“Apparently it’s time for weapons training,” Loki grumbled from his undignified position over Thor’s shoulder.  He hit Thor hard on the back.  “Put me down, brother,” he snarled again.
Thor finally set Loki on his feet.  “Only because your lady is mean when riled,” he teased, then looked you over.  “Though she does not appear awake enough to rile….” He added with concern in his tone.
“She is still drained from the cure. She is still trying to recover,” Loki grumbled as he looked you over as well.  Thor considered that, even as you decided to lie back down because they’ve stopped arguing.  You adorably pulled one of Loki’s pillows into your arms to cuddle like a plushie.  Loki sighed in relief that you were going back to sleep.
“She seemed just fine dancing with you all night…” Thor commented.
Loki sighed heavily.  ‘She was pretending. I made the mistake of thinking she was well enough to dance when she was really too exhausted to even magic on a change of clothes. She is nowhere near fully healed yet,” there was anger at himself in his words.
Thor sighed in exasperation at your antics and behavior, all just to make his brother happy.  Of course you knew how much Loki had wanted to dance and show off.  “She loves you most dearly indeed, brother…” Thor was glad his brother had found someone, but wanted you to take care of yourself as well.
Loki smiled fondly at where you were sleeping in his bed.  He tucked the blanket better around you.  “I’m certainly the luckiest man in the nine realms,” Loki agreed warmly.
Thor smirked.  “You have it just as bad,” he teased, shoving Loki’s shoulder playfully.  Loki grumbled back at him for the treatment.  “Come along, brother, the sooner you show off that pretty dagger she made you, and kick fandral’s ass while you’re at it, the sooner you can take your lady to breakfast,” he offered, knowing that was the only thing likely to convince Loki to come with him.  Loki sighed heavily, but followed his brother to the training courts, you were perfectly safe asleep in the prince’s bed in the palace.
*
“Where’s the little lady?” Fandral pouted when Thor and Loki arrived on the practice courts.  Fandral was conspicuously missing his shirt, seemingly in expectation that you would be there.
Loki growled, noting Fandral’s lack of shirt.  “Resting and nowhere near you,” he growled as he drew the dagger you made him. With one gesture, it turned into a staff.  “Are you ready for me to kick your ass, Fandral?” he growled.  He already wasn’t a morning person and Fandral provoking him wasn’t doing anything to help his temper.
Fandral laughed.  “No reason to growl so, like I would harm a young noble lady,” he teased a little too pointedly about how he would flirt with a young noble lady, even if she was dating his friend’s kid brother.  It was a dick move and he should’ve known it.  “You may try to kick my ass, but you will fail,” he added jovially.
Everyone discounted Loki’s fighting ability.
They should have known better.
Loki had Fandral on his ass within a minute.
“That’s an impressive piece of shiny,” Sif told Loki after the first time he kicked Fandral’s ass.  “Where’d you get it?” she added, looking like she wanted to steal the impressive weapon, though she know better than to steal from Loki.  He would still appreciate the sentiment that she desired the weapon he had.
“My lady made it for me. Along with this,” he raised his arm to indicate the piece of tech on his arm.  He never took the thing off since it doubled his magic.  “It enhances my magic,” he explained to Sif.
“Most impressive,” Sif replied with the proper amount of awed approval.  She nodded at Bucky.  “Can the mortal hold his own?  Thor dressed him up like a warrior, but…” that didn’t really mean anything.  Thor wasn’t always the brightest.
“You would be surprised. He and I both have an affinity for daggers,” Loki replied.  He was impressed with his friend’s skills.
Sif smirked.  “Wonder if he’d deign to spar a girl,” she pondered aloud while she went to find out just that, dragging Bucky away to test his skills.  Bucky grinned and was glad to go test out this warrior woman.
They had all noticed that Odin had been visibly watching from nearby.  He’d wanted to see Loki’s new toy in action and make sure neither of his sons had lost their skill while on Midgard.  After a couple more bouts, he had seen what he wanted and left to attend other matters.
“Oh shit!” Thor exclaimed some time later.  He was on the other end of the training courts from the problem.
Loki glanced over at Thor.  “What?” he asked.  Thor didn’t usually curse so crudely when they were home.
Thor gestured with Mjolnir to where you had wandered in, looking for your missing Loki.  Thor was frozen as the entire practice court stared at where you were half-asleep, barefoot in your pajamas, such as they were since your pajamas consisted of one of Loki’s tunics.
Loki cursed and rushed over to you, magicking on a dress for you so when you came to your senses you wouldn’t be embarrassed.  Also so he wouldn’t have to kill everyone there.  “Darling, what are you doing here?” he asked you, concerned.  All of the menfolk there besides Fandral, who was standing shocked and confused, have decided for their own safety that other things than Loki’s lady were extremely interesting and required their undivided attention.
You wrapped your arms around your Loki.  “Was worried.  You were gone,” you told him and laid your head on his chest, content now that you’d found him and he was safe.  You weren’t the most logical when you were half-asleep.
Loki smiled and wrapped you up in his arms.  “I’m just fine, sweetheart,” he told you and sat on a bench nearby, pulling you into his lap.  He was content to just sit with you and watch Sif and Bucky go at it.  The menfolk relaxed when Loki didn’t seem particularly like killing them.
You curled yourself contently in Loki’s lap, much as you did when your naps were interrupted at the tower and you came to find him.  Loki sighed in relief that you felt comfortable falling asleep in such an unfamiliar place, especially one that held so many negative memories for you.  He pressed a kiss to your hair and hugged you tighter to him. He failed to realize that he was the comfortable place.
Thor smirked when he came to check on you. “Should’ve known she’d only sleep when you’re around, especially on Asgard,” he commented, but softly so as to not wake you.
“After what happened, do you really think she’d be able to sleep comfortably here without me?  I’m amazed she’s sleeping at all even with me here,” Loki replied grumpily.  He hated how uncomfortable you were with his home. Especially since it was your home now too.
“No,” Thor replied sadly.  “I had hoped she might be able to relax some after father’s display yesterday, and mother’s kindness, of course, but you’re right…” he gave you a considering look.  “I doubt mother will let her return to Midgard yet either, so it looks like you are stuck with an extra clingy lady,” he teased and left to go rescue Bucky from Sif’s tender mercy.
Bucky came over when Sif had finished kicking his ass.  He hadn’t seen you arrive as he’d been busy having his ass handed to him by the goddess of war. He was worried at what he saw.  “When did she get here? Is she ok?” he asked Loki.  He had a soft spot for you and was as protective of you as Loki most of the time.
“She’s fine but still recovering. That cure took a lot out of her, as you saw,” Loki reassured him.
Bucky nodded and relaxed.  Loki wouldn’t say you were alright if you weren’t.  “I saw.  And I’m not terribly surprised she’s asleep in your arms, hell she does that every nightmare she has back home.  How on earth did she find you, though?  This place is a maze…”
Loki’s brows furrowed at that.  “I’m actually not sure. Maybe she tracked me using one of the gifts she gave me like I did with her staff…” he considered. He’d have to ask you when you woke.
Bucky smirked.  “So there are things you don’t know,” he teased.
Loki glared in reply, though Bucky knew he didn’t really mean it.  Loki’s glare was different when he meant it.  “Do not tell anyone,”
Bucky laughed.  “Your secret’s safe with me, Odinson. Speaking of, let me know if you need me to keep an eye on her.  Figured you might have some kind of royal duties while you’re home,” he offered.  Loki inclined his head in acknowledgement.  He would trust you to Bucky’s care. That’s part of why Bucky was brought along after all.  “And the oaf  and his drunkards of friends are all super excited breakfast is soon so you might want to wake her before they come stomping past,” he suggested in warning.
Loki nodded, but gave Bucky a considering look before he woke you.  “I’m curious though. Why do you insist on calling me Odinson? You do know that I’m adopted right?” he asked his friend. Bucky had done it as formal address in Loki’s home instead of the usual nicknames they had for each other.
Bucky looked downright worried at that, afraid he’d been upsetting Loki all this time that they’d been friends.  “I… thought it was the right term…” he finally said, afraid not of Loki, but that he’d been hurting his friends feelings, especially when he’d gone out of his way to change the address to ‘Friggadotir’ when Loki was female. “Is it not?” he got up the courage to ask.
Loki didn’t want to hurt his friend’s feelings.  “Not really, though I would prefer if you called me Loki,” Loki knew that most of the time they would stick to their annoying nicknames for each other.  Not many on Asgard were allowed to call him by his first name.  Only you, his mother, brother, and the oaf’s friend did. Though the morons did without his permission.
Bucky gave him a small smile.  “I think I can handle that, Loki,” he replied.  Some other time, he’d explain about terms of address in the army and why he, and to an extent Steve, tended to use last names if no title was available for someone.  He looks over at the morons who were packing up.  “Moron herd is coming,” he warned moments before the moron herd came stomping over, talking too loudly and generally being loud an obnoxious.
Their idiocy startled you awake and you were instantly on your feet with a dagger in each hand, standing in front of your Loki to protect him from the danger of the loud noise. Loki chuckled fondly.  “Kitten, you don’t need to defend me from Thor’s idiot friends,” he said as he took the daggers out of your hands and pulled you back into his lap.  He glared at the moron herd.  “Could you quiet down? My lady is still trying to rest,” he growled at them.
You looked at Loki confused.  “They were loud,” you informed him intelligently.  Or at least you thought it was intelligently in your less than half awake state.  They were also loud on Asgard where you were uncomfortable, which meant scary, and that meant you had to protect your Loki, but you let him take the daggers and pull you back into his lap, where you curled with a purr, reassured by his insistence that you were both ok.
“Come on, noodle,” Fandral laughed loudly, poking at the easily annoyed Loki.  “You don’t want to miss breakfast,” he teased.
“Fandral, are you trying to get yourself stabbed?” Sif asked as she joined the group.  “Loki already saved your ass from his lady.  It’s your funeral if you provoke either of them anymore,” she told him, reminding him that he was being beyond stupid.
Loki growled at your nickname coming from Fandral.  It was barely ok when you said it.  No one else was allowed to use it.  “Say that again and expect a dagger at your throat,” Loki growled at him, his tone clear that he meant the threat.  He turned his attention back to you.  “Would you like to go to breakfast, little one?” he asked you gently.  He knew you weren’t really very awake and didn’t want to upset you.
“We should eat something,” you said instead of answering his actual question.  Though you did feel like you could eat you weight in pancakes, if only they had them here.  Loki helped you off his lap and placed your hand on his arm to escort you to the dining hall for breakfast.  Bucky and Sif followed right behind you as a buffer between you and the oaf’s moronic friends.  Bucky and Sif seemed to be getting along well.  “When did we come outside?” you asked Loki as you walked.  You were more awake now.
“I was forced out here by my brother for weapons training. You seemed to just find me somehow,” Loki replied with a warm chuckle.  He was amused at your half-asleep antics.
“Oh.  That doesn’t sound like fun for you,” you replied while you tried to remember.  “Thor had you upside down,” you added softly when you remembered that detail.
“He did,” Loki agreed, and you could hear the grumbling in his tone as well as the amusement at how hard it was for you to remember.  “Though I did get to show off with your present and got to kick Fandral’s ass at the same time,” he added brightly.  That part at least had been fun for him.
“Oh good.  Fandral deserves it,” you told him.  “Dagger still working out ok for you?” you asked, concerned.
“It’s amazing, darling,” he kissed your cheek.  “Thank you for such a wonderful gift,”
You smiled brightly up at him. “Glad you like it,” you tapped the tech on his arm.  “I’ll fix this up after we get home.  I did stitch it together with bootleg parts… plus it’s ugly as hell,” you knew that would grate on Loki. He liked being fashionable.
“How did you find me anyway, darling? This palace is huge,” Loki asked, changing the subject.
You thought that over, trying to remember things you’d done while half awake was hard.  You shrugged.  “I can always feel where you are, as long as you’re close enough.  Maybe because you’ve been teaching me magic?” you suggested.  You’d know the feel of him and his power anywhere.
Fandral chose that moment to make a stupid comment and antagonize the Loki, because tormenting Thor’s kid brother was a time-honored game among the warrior morons.  “That was a lovely outfit the little lady was wearing this morning,” he teased about your pajamas.
Before you could turn to defend your own honor, Thor and Bucky have both taken a turn decking Fandral in the face for insulting you.  “Surely Mother taught you better than to tease sick noble ladies,” Thor glared at the moron.  He thought his friends were smarter than this.
Loki threw a dagger into Fandral’s side for good measure.  “Especially the sick noble lady whom I am courting, imbecile,” he growled, holding you protectively to his side.
“Seriously, Fan? How the fuck do you think making the girl cry is going to win you her affections?” Sif demanded.  A moment later, there was a sickening crunch sound of a certain piece of Fandral’s anatomy being hit with something very heavy. “Maybe with that out of commission you’ll think with the big brain for awhile,” she growled at him.
Loki tried his best to hold back his laughter at Sif’s treatment of the moron.
You hid your beet red face against his chest and made a small distressed noise.  Sif came up on your other side.  “Hey, Loki, I heard the chefs are making those cinnamon pastries you pretend you don’t absolutely adore,” Sif said kindly, thinking if Loki liked them then maybe you would too.  Either way, it was a conversation other than Fandral being an idiot.  Loki gave her a small appreciative nod.  He actually liked Lady Sif.
“Pastries you love?” you asked softly, curiously.  You refused to look at any of the others since Fandral made you uncomfortable, but you were curious about something that made Loki happy.
“You’ll see when we get there love. They’re too amazing to describe,” he started to act like a child in a candy store, excited for the pastries.  He dragged you off to breakfast excitedly.
Breakfast was a smaller affair than dinner and the head table wasn’t used. Instead, the whole group of you sat together at one of the smaller tables, though the warrior’s three decided to skip breakfast and hide Fandral from Frigga. There was already a huge pile of pastries next to Loki’s usual place at the smaller table when you arrived. Loki pulled out your chair for you before he took his place and started munching on the pastries, moaning in pleasure at one of his favorite foods.
You couldn’t help smiling at his obvious pleasure and took one of the pastries for yourself.  Bucky and Sif were chatting together. “I would not recommend stealing one of Loki’s pastries. Even his lady is lucky she got one without being growled at,” Sif was teasing, though her warning was real.
Bucky was too tempted by that and reached over to steal a pastry.  Loki growled protectively, but realized it was Bucky, and since he liked Bucky, let him take one.  One.
Bucky chuckled and did indeed take only one.  “How are you not fat with how much you devour sweets?” he teased and tried to goad you into eating more than a single pastry.  You were refusing to take more from the happy Loki.
Loki snapped out of his happy pastry-induced daze long enough to conjure up a plate of piping hot pancakes for you before he returned to his pastries.
“These don’t belong here,” you commented, but purred and happily dug into your pancakes.
“How the fuck did you get pancakes here? And if you can conjure them yourself why do you keep stealing ours every Sunday?!?!” Bucky demanded indignantly.
Loki just shrugged and continued eating his pancakes.
Bucky glared while you giggled and enjoyed your breakfast.  Everyone looked up when Frigga entered the room and rushed to stand a moment later. It wasn’t every morning that she joined them, but she was a common sight at breakfast.  She headed straight for the table that had her sons.
Even Loki stopped eating his pastries to stand and greet his mother properly with a kiss on the cheek.  “Good morning, Mother,” he greeted her warmly.
She kissed his cheek in return.  “Good morning, darling.  I see you found the pastries I had made for you. You did remember to share with your lady, didn’t you?” she teased warmly
“Yes, Mother, I shared with my lady,” Loki replied indignantly.  Of course he would share with you.
Frigga laughed and moved on to greet everyone else at the table.  Including you.  She placed a hand to your forehead and cheeks, always the healer and mother.  “You still need to take it easy, dear,” she told you.  Her hands felt cold, so you knew you were flushed.  “Get that son of mine to take you for a stroll through the gardens. The fresh air will do you some good,” she went to take her seat between her boys and looked at the mostly empty table.  “Where are the rest of your friends, Thor?”
Sif laughed.  “They are likely hiding fandral from you, Allmother,” she replied.  “He made the mistake of insulting a sick noble lady in front of her protectors and the man courting her. He’s losing his touch of he thinks that was supposed to be flirtatious…”
“Lady Sif is right. Fandral does not know how to hold his tongue,” Loki grumbled.
“What exactly did Fandral do?” she demanded of the table at large.  There was icy steel in her words and her demeanor.  She did not appreciate her charges being upset, especially if it could put her healing in danger.
Loki growled.  He attempted to flirt and embarrass my love when she came to find me in a half asleep state in her pajamas.  She was clearly unwell and he should have known not to tease her with me around,”
“I didn’t mean to cause trouble,” you murmured softly.  You’d cause a lot of trouble by going to find Loki when you weren’t awake enough to know what you were doing.
Frigga growled and shoved away from the table. “He should have known not to distress one of my charges,”
Loki smirked at his angry mother, since she wasn’t angry with him. “He has already been handled, Mother. Thor, Sif, Sergeant Barnes, and I took care of it,”
Frigga looked over at Loki with a malicious glint in her eyes.  “And will I be satisfied with your handling of the situation?” she asked formally.
“Quite satisfied. He was punched in the face twice, a dagger in the side, and Lady Sif took his manhood out of commission for awhile,” Loki replied with a smirk.
Frigga nodded and resumed her seat after stealing one of the pastries from Loki’s carefully guarded stack.
Breakfast continued in companionable conversation.  You ate your weight in pancakes and one more pastry stole from Loki’s stack because they were so good. Before your group could disband to your separate activities for the day, Odin entered the room and everyone had to stand yet again to greet him.
He came straight over and kissed his wife on the cheek. After the greetings went made, he spoke beyond his replies to the greetings. He addressed the table at large, but more importantly Loki and you.  You were terrified to be addressed, terrified of this man after he’d hurt you, and beyond terrified at his words.
“I would speak with lady Y/N.  Privately,”

Blood on the Looking Glass pt. 2
From Geoffrey’s POV
GUARD OF PRIWEN HQ
Returning to our base after a long day of work, Woodbead and I made haste in the darkness of the night as birds sang faintly in the distance, signaling the start of a new dawn.
To my disappointment, the Guard of Priwen hadn’t been making as much progress as I’d hoped...and we’d already been here for an entire fortnight. I knew catching Reid would be no easy task -- especially in a city like Paris -- but it was evident that the Ekon had grown accustomed to evading our men.
After all, we spent so much time fighting him in London. It only made sense that, the more we hunted him down, the more he would adapt to our tactics. And he was no longer some confused, fish-out-of-water newborn.
Jonathan had evolved into an experienced, superior Ekon with the blood of an ancient vampire...and he certainly knew how to put it to good use. We couldn’t afford to make the mistake of underestimating him. I already made that mistake once -- and it cost me my life.
“You think the others have found anything yet?” Andrew asked me, disrupting the deathly silence.
I sluggishly slid a hand down my face, opening the entrance to our base.
“Hopefully. I have faith in the Guard’s skills, but Paris has been barren lately in terms of leads. Reid certainly knows how to cover his tracks. And so do his allies.”
A brief memory flashed in my mind, causing a scoff to escape me.
“To think, I used to believe Jonathan would end up getting killed by some random Priwen. The first time I met him, he was nothing but a feeble corpse seeking refuge in the rundown Pembroke. I never expected him to become the threat he is today. Shows you how foolish I was to not kill Swansea. ...What was that man thinking? Offering vampires shelter? In a hospital, out of all places. It’s no wonder their patients always turned up dead.”
Woodbead followed me inside, locking the entrance behind us.
“None of us could’ve predicted this,” he reassured. “Especially not from someone who used to make a living saving people. Trust me, you’re not the only one who didn’t see this coming.”
I shook my head. “But it’s my job to know, Andrew. As your leader, it’s important that I’m able to detect these types of threats from a mile away. Otherwise, we’d all be dead.”
I let out a frustrated sigh. “Ah...I should have put a stake through Reid’s heart the moment I saw him. Would’ve spared London a colossal amount of trouble...but I suppose regrets are useless, aren’t they. All we can do now is put that leech down, once and for all, and avenge the countless lives he’s taken.”
“Come,” I beckoned. “Let’s see what the others have been doing.”
Entering our headquarters, Andrew and I were greeted with the distant sound of conversation coming from the rest of the members as we passed by our fellow Priwen. There weren’t as many of us in Paris as there were in London, but even then, I still had confidence in our success.
After all, a smaller family meant it was easier for us to communicate, and on top of that, these people were chosen for being the best of the best. It was like having our own, elite group within the Guard...and that was precisely what we needed to kill Reid. I just hoped he hadn’t formed his own family.
Strolling through a tall, wooden archway, I headed towards the main area of the base which had been decorated with Priwen banners, swords and shields on the walls, shelves stuffed with books about vampires, elegant drapery, paintings of previous leaders, and a simple but bold chandelier hanging aloft.
But what really caught my attention was the large, circular table in the center of the room. It had been crafted out of a majestic mahogany with intricate designs of leaves, vines, and gargoyle heads carved into its sides. And on its surface, lay a vast map of the city marked with all sorts of icons. It was the perfect device for the Guard.
Upon arrival however, I noticed that there was already a pair of people seated at the table discussing something clearly urgent as they exchanged hushed words, careful not to alert anyone outside the base.
Among them was Eleanor Gray, a middle-aged woman who joined the Order just a couple years ago. She appeared stern and motherly on the outside with the gaze of a hawk, but carried a fire that burned like no other within.
Her signature feature was a lengthy scar on her nose that she received from a fight with a Vulkod, and her short, black hair only had a few strands of silver in it despite her age. Just by looking at Eleanor, you’d never be able to guess she had such a dark history with Doctor Reid.
Apparently, the leech actually started out as a friend of the family, but things took a dark turn when her son grew too attached to him. It left the boy completely vulnerable to the Ekon’s true intentions, and one night, he decided to spend some time with Reid...only to never come back.
Even worse -- when her husband tried to look for their missing son, he too met the same fate. By the time Eleanor learned what had happened, Reid was already long gone.
Their deaths instantly drove Eleanor straight to my doorstep. She just appeared outside our base one day, standing in the middle of the pouring rain with nothing but a shotgun in her hands, and a desire to get revenge.
The man sitting beside her now, Alexander Hale, was the first to befriend our new recruit.
Hale was a much different story compared to Eleanor. In fact, I didn’t really know what his story was in the first place. Alexander had never been a man of many words, and he only ever spoke when he thought something needed to be said -- which made him quite a mystery to the rest of us.
Regardless of his wordless tendencies however, Alexander still managed to be one of the more prominent members in the Guard. His head of neat, auburn hair was quite hard to miss, and his globular, blue eyes stood out like a pair of crystal orbs. There was also the fact that his presence alone was enough to make an impact. I had seen rooms full of people fall completely silent upon his entry, and even I couldn’t deny that he did hold a somewhat intimidating temperament.
I supposed that was why Hale made such a skilled vampire hunter.
Approaching the large table, I immediately got the attention of the other Guards as Eleanor’s head perked up, both of them now focused on me and Woodbead.
“McCullum, Andrew,” Eleanor said, sounding somewhat relieved. “You’ve returned. Did you find anything whilst you were out investigating?”
Woodbead pulled out the diary from Elise’s apartment.
“Another lost soul, I’m afraid...” He replied, placing it on the table. “It was a young woman named Elise this time. According to her diary, Reid had been seducing her for quite a while. And she fell for it.”
Eleanor’s nose crinkled in disgust, her eyes sinking downwards.
“...That bastard,” she whispered. “Always preying on those who can’t fight back. Oh...poor girl. I hope she was the only victim you discovered.”
“For now,” I confirmed. “What about you? What were you discussing before I arrived?”
“Well, there’s good news and there’s bad news,” she replied. “The good news is we may have identified one of Reid’s accomplices.”
“...And the bad news?” I asked.
Eleanor leaned forward, resting her elbows on the table. “We think they may be another Ekon named Edward Blackbourne. The locals here call him ‘The Pestilent.’ Apparently, he’s been around since the early eighteenth century, and has a habit of targeting young women. He’s also become somewhat of a bogeyman. The strange part however, is he hasn’t been in France for that long. The woman we spoke with said he only arrived two years ago.”
The pieces clicked in my head, leaving a feeling of dread in me.
“...The same time Reid left London. That can’t be a coincidence. Where is this woman you mentioned?”
“She works at the nearby pub,” she answered. “Her name is Adelie. Though, be warned, she has a reputation for being somewhat...crazy.”
I raised a brow. “Why’s that?”
Eleanor chuckled, though not out of amusement. “She believes in vampires...but no one believes her.”
I gave her a nod. “I see. Well, I’ll go have a word with her; find out what else she knows. In the meantime, I want you and Alexander to patrol the area around here. I don’t know why, but I’ve noticed most of Reid’s victims have been from these parts. If we’re going to gather anymore clues, we should do it here. Andrew -- you’re with me.”
Woodbead straightened his posture. “Ready when you are, sir.”
Eleanor rose from her seat. “As are we.”
“Then let’s get to work, people,” I ordered. “We don’t have long before Reid or Blackbourne decides to strike again, and I certainly don’t plan to wait for them. These murders have to end now. So let’s move!”
Swiftly taking our leave, Andrew and I wasted no time in hurrying over to the pub Eleanor mentioned as we glided through the dawn’s fading darkness, anxious to avoid the sun.
I knew it was incredibly risky to wander outside during this hour, but I couldn’t afford having my own men grow suspicious of me. There was already tension among the Guard with all the recent killings, and the last thing I wanted was for us to lose trust in each other. If my time with Carl Eldritch taught me anything, it was that infighting could be just as damaging to our Order as any vampire out there...and he was right.
“Sir.” Woodbead called out, causing me to pause for a moment.
“Yes?” I said. “What is it?”
The young man glanced at the sky, clearly preoccupied with something.
“...If you want me to speak with Adelie alone, just say the word. I could easily get the information we need, but I don’t want to see my leader burn alive just because we were a few minutes behind schedule.”
Despite my urge to retreat to the shadows, I refused.
“No, it’s better if I’m there. Anything could happen with all these vampires lurking around, and if trouble were to find us, I’d prefer you didn’t face it alone.”
He continued to push the subject. “You’ve seen me fight, McCullum. I know the scars on my face say otherwise, but I can defend myself. You don’t need to worry about me.”
I remained unswayed.
“I’m coming with you, Andrew. There’s no telling what we can expect, and I--”
Suddenly feeling light-headed, the world began to spin around me and I found myself stumbling for a second before tipping over, hurriedly using a nearby wall for support as Andrew practically threw himself in front of me.
“Sir!” He exclaimed, fretting like a worried parent.
“...I’m...I’m all right...” I mumbled, waving a dismissive hand. “Just...need a minute...”
Andrew furrowed his brow in concern, instantly pinpointing the problem.
“You need blood, Geoffrey. You’re not getting enough.”
I gazed at him with heavy eyelids, shrugging weakly. “...And where...are we supposed to find that?”
Without saying anything, Woodbead simply gestured to his own neck, slightly pulling down the collar that concealed it. Again, I declined.
“We’ve talked about this before,” I reminded him. “I’m not feeding on you. Or anyone, for that matter.”
Still, Andrew insisted. “I can handle giving a little blood.”
I pushed myself off the wall, attempting to move on as if nothing happened.
“Well, I’d rather not take the risk. By nature, vampires are addicted to blood. If I taste even a drop of yours, I don’t know if I’ll be able to stop.”
“But--”
I regained composure, taking a deep breath. “I’m fine, Andrew. Really. My thirst won’t kill me, but it could kill you. Now, enough about this. Let’s return to the mission at hand. We only have an hour or so before the sun’s up. We should make haste.”
At last, the young man gave in, letting out an unsure sigh.
“...As you wish, sir. Just...keep an eye on yourself, yeah? I don’t want you falling over while we’re out in the open.”
“It won’t come to that,” I reassured. “I promise.”
In reality though, I knew Andrew was right. I wasn’t going to be able to ignore this thirst for much longer. Ever since the minute I woke up in that godforsaken hospital where Jonathan left me, my throat had been parched.
So far, I had been lucky enough to resist the temptation, but with every passing day, I could feel my body withering more and more as an aching sense of hunger consumed it from the inside-out.
It continuously climbed its way up my list of concerns, and I had no idea when I would reach my breaking point. But no matter what, I told myself I couldn’t give in to the thirst. I just couldn’t. I refused to betray my people’s trust like that...and I wouldn’t.
A familiar voice suddenly whispered in my ear, their ghostly words interrupting my thoughts as my vision turned red.
“...Rotten or pristine, each heart contains the seeds of life. Drink at this river. Dry it all...!”
A series of chills ran up my spine.
It was Jonathan. He was listening to me. I could feel it.
No, I said to myself. Don’t do it. Resist the thirst. You must...!
Reid’s ominous chuckle echoed in my head.
“It is wise for the huntsman to sometimes let his prey go...but no famished hunter can run for long. Not even you...”
I gritted my teeth in frustration.
“Leave me be, you filthy leech...! I won’t walk down the same path as you. I won’t become a murderer.”
Another laugh escaped Jonathan, his tone dripping with malice.
“Give up this pointless charade, my progeny. You and I both know it won’t work forever. Embrace this gift I have given you, and welcome your true potential with open arms...”
With that said, my vision gradually returned to normal, and the red drained from the world like blood leaking out of a vampire’s feast. Before loosening his clutch on my mind however, Jonathan left me with one, final piece of advice as a temporary farewell.
“Satisfy your hunger...” he warned, “...or become it.”

IVANA SKYE BIBLOGRAPHY MASTERPOST!!
Finally, some information about all my books and series in one place...
Šehhinah:
Tumblr media
Šehhinah is a fantasy-with-angels trilogy in a world with near-modern tech, but a different history (and set of continents!) than ours.  It’s about understanding yourself, finding friends, and being a dork.
There are angels running around, and Fallen too.  The magic system, Theurgy, is based on literally manifesting one’s soul into the world, because no one in this series has any chill.  Especially not God, who makes willing people into Their Holy by manifesting Their soul near enough to them to burn their bodies and give them superpowers.  Or Lilith, who lowkey kidnaps abandoned or abused children and manifests her soul near their bodies to make them into demons.
Each of the books takes place primarily in a different city with a different cast, although some of the characters do cross over (especially in the third book.)  For this reason, the second book can probably be read standalone if that’s what you’re down for.
Tumblr media
The first book, The Stars that Rise at Dawn, takes place in Ēnnuh, a desert city which is maybe the second-oldest city in the world (but this is debated).  There’s solar panels and motorcycles everywhere, and bookstores host philosophy debates with clickbait-style advertising.
It follows Elīya, a philosophy major who Doesn’t Know When To Stop, and her childhood friend Yenatru, who is Too Gay To Function.  Elīya’s on a quest to get back together with her other childhood friend, Tamar; Yenatru’s just on a quest to have friends, or maybe even a boyfriend.  Thankfully for Yenatru, he runs into Lucifer in the library one day, and strikes up a weirdly good conversation with her.
Yes.  That Lucifer.  He’s surprised about that too.
Anyway, Lucifer’s also pretty much just a dork who wants to have friends, so they’re a good match.  But Elīya might have other plans for them… like trying to rope them into this whole finding-Tamar thing.
“Most people think of you as somewhat dignified,” Yenatru points out. “Someone with pride. Impressive.”
Lucifer clutches a hand to her chest. “Ow, don’t go implying I don’t have pride. I like being prideful! ’S fun.”
“You are attempting and failing to banter with some really shy boy you met in a university library,” Yenatru says, deadpan.
“I did say I was pathetic,” Lucifer says with a smile. “Do you believe me now?”
Yenatru thinks about that for a moment, then nods. “Yes. Yes, I believe you.”
Lucifer’s smile turns harder, almost determined. “Good.”

The second book, The Birds that Fly at Dusk, takes place in Ākal-ne, a city at the edge of the steppe near some mountains.  It’s large and spread-out, people mostly roller skate to get everywhere, and each field of study has its own college, which is also a lodge where its students say.  A collodge, if you will.  (Sorry not sorry.)
It follows Celyet, a semiverbal autistic demon originally from near the city who ran off to the city to evade bad social dynamics, which, #relatable.  She manages to run into Sän, another demon who’s been spending their time lately working as a barista and also falling over a lot.  Celyet’s trying to avoid people and doesn’t want to make friends, but there might be some kind of connection between them…
…And then Jibril, the pun-loving angel who never shuts up, walks into that very coffee shop, because they (a terrible coffee fiend) are actually its owner.  That’s why it’s called JiBrew.
And that’s when Celyet accidentally performs Theurgy right in the middle of the coffee shop.
“Hmm, okay,” the angel continues on, “it’s kind of starting to look already like you’re not going to say anything, sigh”—and Celyet, looking down at the bar, finds herself blinking at the fact that the angel Jibril just said the word ‘sigh’ aloud, dramatically, instead of actually sighing—“I mean, I’m kinda used to it, since I’m so overwhelming and frankly gorgeous and all, this kind of thing absolutely happens.  Although I do quite like hearing from other people!  God, that’s always fun.  Oh, yes, that too—I’ll curse by God, when I feel like it.  Of course, I’m an angel, but why not.  I’ll curse by God and fire and flames, the whole thing, it’s a better curse than anything else really, and that disaster probably deserves to be used as a curse anyway.  Still can’t believe They didn’t notice how flaming sad Lucifer was for so long!  A couple of times I even tried to be like, hey God, my man, I mean not really man because You have no idea what a gender is, but my man all the same, have You noticed, there are some flaws in how You’ve set things up.  And They were just kind of like … well, the way They are, They basically only responded by just being fire, you know how it is.  And it’s fun to feel that kind of fire and light everywhere in your body, at least for me …”
Speaking of God, Celyet thinks, God she wonders if Jibril’s ever going to shut up.

The third book, The Lives that Argue for Us, is set for a May 4th release date, and is available for preorder.  It introduces the partially-floating tropical city of Askannan, where a subculture of people—the Seafarers—dedicate their lives to traveling around the world and showing people cool art because, again, no one in this series has any chill.
Kjorel is one such Seafarer, and is about to leave for his first voyage after secondary school… which unfortunately means not seeing his datemate, Teśena, for about eight months.  They’re in an open relationship, but have never been put to the test quite like this before.
So while Teśena’s dealing with the loneliness of being almost entirely nonverbal and without aer datemate by befriending God, Kjorel finds himself in Ēnnuh… where he meets a certain adorable boy who hates shorts.
Teśena’s not quite sure how this works, how to think to someone who’s this here with aer, but ae tries, ae imagines almost an opening up of the memory of it all—and somehow this act, this unfurling, itself gently glows.
A thousand wings shift again, eyes made of fire open and close, wheels made of fire turn and turn.  And the fire of God’s wings moves as if closer to aer, almost as if laughing, understanding, something like a mirror wrapped in one of the wheels reflecting.
Teśena has made terrible, impulsive decisions, ae understands.
And God seems to respect that in the way God respects Themself.

Evocation:
Tumblr media
Evocation is an NA fantasy series with short, novella-length books set in a fantasy world which thinks it knows what’s up.  There’s a very established and easily accessible system of name magic, and easy communication with the low-power Gods known as Vitalities… what more could a society want?
And then a completely different type of magic shows up overnight.
The series follows Nena, a former circus performer who’s already won the world’s equivalent of the Olympics… meaning that now, at eighteen, she has no more life goals left.  Oops.  So she’s getting TF out of dodge, which is to say, out of her hometown, to do… something.  She isn’t really sure what.  It might involve befriending fellow traveler Maráh.  Or it might end up accidentally setting a bunch of things around her on fire with her thoughts…
Meanwhile, Cijaya’s recovering from emotional abuse over in a different city, and is pretty sure that graduating secondary school is the right time to get as far away as possible.  But even waiting two months for that is a challenge, especially when your only friend is the snarky Vitality of a nearby lake.
The second book, currently up for preorder and about to be released on April 3rd, continues these characters’ stories in addition to introducing the fourth major character of the cast: Pelekri, who’s also discovered the new system of magic, and is using it to … be a vigilante solar panel installer.  That’s what anyone would do with magic, right?  Right…?
“You’re not excited,” Maràh said.  “Not really.  Not openly.  No matter what you present on the surface.”
“About this?” I asked, almost smiling, however inappropriate that expression was.  “About Mangtena?”
“About anything,” Maràh said, almost smiling too, perhaps as if they’d caught me in something, as if they’d won, or just as if in the back of their mind they were thinking about really good chocolate.
Well, of course, I could travel.  I could even imagine being excited about that, as I once was.  I hadn’t yet visited every city on Sifir, and perhaps I could.  I could go to every last one, see it all, see everything—
—and, I asked myself, how long would that really take?  A few years?  Sifir wasn’t big; everyone knew that.  But though certain Vitalities had long hinted at a much larger landmass somewhere across the ocean, a continent they called it, the oceans were simply too wide to cross, though many had tried.
My breath caught in my throat and the reason for that catching burned in me: boredom.

The Size of the World:
Tumblr media
The Size of the World is a standalone novella, my first published release, and also the only one of my books available in paperback (which is very pretty.)It’s hyper-poetic in both style and setting, and involves Theia—a character who is much more autistic than I had a clue about at the time when I wrote her—crossing the Seven Seas to find the Darkness past the Seventh Sea.  And, uh, falling completely in love with this girl she meets in the Second Land.
“Theia,” she says, grinning. “That is a good name. It tastes like ivy in my mouth.”
“Who are you?” I ask.
“I am Tellus,” she says, “if you wish.”
“If I wish?”
“Tell me,” she whispers, “have you ever met someone with only one name?”
“Yes,” I say. There is nothing in common between my Kingdom and hers.
“In this Land,” she proclaims, “you never will.”
