Fat people deserve better.

We are not repulsive. We are not vile. We are not appalling.

We are people.

If my existence "promotes obesity"? Good!

You want to know why?

I am not promoting the idea that someone should become obese. I am not going to attempt to police someone else's body and lifestyle like sizeist people do.

I am promoting the idea that people of all sizes are deserving of the bare minimum of basic human respect.

This should not be a radical idea. This should not be something we have to fight about.

99% of the time? Being fat is not a choice. And you know what? Even if it was - even if I was shoving big macs into my greasy fucking maw every 2 hours?

I would still be deserving of basic decency.

I would still be deserving of proper medical care that takes into account things other than my size and diet.

I would still be deserving of comfort, of clothing that fits.

You want to know the worst part of all of this?

Fat kids deserve better, and all too often, they don't get it.

Fat kids deserve to be able to be active without being mocked for the way their body moves.

Fat kids deserve to be seen as children rather than medical problems that need solving.

Fat kids deserve clothing that fits them and makes them feel good about themselves.

Fat kids deserve to eat, and to eat good food.

Fat kids deserve to eat cake at birthday parties like everyone else.

Fat kids deserve to go trick-or-treating like all the other kids.

Fat kids deserve love. Fat kids deserve respect.

Fat kids deserve a proper childhood without having to pay a toll of trying to change their bodies.

Fat kids deserve acceptance for their bodies as they are and as they will be - not pleasantries about how they'll grow up to be skinny, so they don't need to learn to love themselves before then.

Fat people deserve better.

Hey. If you're a fat selfshipper, and you don't have the "good parts" of being fat, the "at least" parts, that's okay. I know a lot of selfship content is intended for thin people, or fat people who are still societally considered "good enough", and I just wanted to say your F/Os love you.

i was wondering, how different are BB!Windstar, BB!Riverstar, and BB!Shadowstar in Modern Starclan than they were alive? Esp compared to BB!Skystar and BB!Thunderstar.

Windstar is waaaaaaaaaaay different. Modern cats have completely forgotten that she was kind of a bitch. Of all the founders, I'd actually say that she's the most different. They de-girlbossified her.

Her revelation from Gray Wing the Wise was that she had a taste of battle and choked on it; ergo, she should expand her horizons. She spent the later half of her leadership doing just that, encouraging her cats to trade, forming alliances, and collaborating heavily with Shadowstar on technological advances. She was so loved that ShadowClan constructed a cairn at her burial-- a mound of stones around her body.

In life, she never lost her intensity. Though she took the revelation to heart, she often held grudges, took part in skirmishes against the others, and displayed a lot of bias within her heavily-hierarchical Clan. She could even be cruel and unfair in her judgements. Moth Flight personally experienced this in life, as The Wind Runner held her parentage against her before she'd proven herself useful.

In BB, Moth Flight is the daughter of Cloud Flight and Wind's terrible ex-mate, Branch. Windstar's kittens are Morning Awakener and Dustiest Muzzle.

(note: Names still might change. Park cat names are titles, three words at most, which are collected over their lives. Traditionally, a king bestows these titles, but in WindCo it's their parent. I feel like it fits her to have three kits called Big One, Middle One, and Little One tbh, lmao)

In death, these less savory aspects have been filed down by the sands of time. She's remembered as intelligent and jovial, loud and singsong. Her real build was lanky and wiry, but she's imagined to be as fat as a rabbit thanks to her trading and innovation. She gets associated with the matriarch doe that runs a warren.

(Gorselike Fur is depicted as harelike.)

The stories give her a king-like air to her. Most of the post-battle WindClan tales open up with her being approached in her camp, describing the kittens that took over after her death as 'heirs,' because the Wind Coalition didn't have deputies until Riverstar's death and a succession crisis.

In contrast, Shadowstar is actually the least changed founder. Her revelation was that she had failed to break her own legacy (remembered through history as failed to be compassionate, as her "legacy" of being the descendant of Broken Shadow is forgotten) and someone else would be broken for her. That turned out to be her nephew, Sun Shadow.

After winning a staring contest with One Eye, Sun Shadow won the right to become the God of the Sun. It is said that if someone else wins a staring contest with him, THEY will become the next god, so Sun Shadow defends his position viciously.

At night, he must rest, and his aunt is there to shelter him. This is why there is day and night-- as Shadowstar allows him to sleep in her embrace.

(Post-Lake there are actually arguments between River and Shadow "philosophers," who fight over if Sun Shadow is actually laying down to rest in Riverstar's embrace instead. Blood has been spilled. Average college professor discussion.)

So, as a patron, she's associated with shelter, safety, rest. Sanctuary. It's something that ShadowClan heavily values about itself at various points through history. So Shadowstar is seen as gentle, protective, and pragmatic. Someone who deeply regrets how she lost sight of the value of life, and will now fight to defend the cats under her charge.

Not all too different from who she was in life.

all things considered i dont think greek representation is like the most important ever or anything, but its so rare to see greece acknowledged beyond ancient stuff or mythology, or maybe the occasional jab at eastern europe, that its just... fun to see yourself and your family a little bit on the tv. it doesnt really get into the super deep parts of the culture or anything like that but its fine bc its fun. i think most greek families (esp of diaspora) have bonded to this movie because theyre just like us for real. before this, i think the closest thing id seen to actual greek rep on tv was from an episode of the suite life on deck where it was mainly just an eastern europe stereotype 😭 abt being hairy and playing with pig guts as balloons and shit idk. i mean also true but in a way that comes off as more mean spirited lol. but even then i was excited just to see our flag on tv and remember pointing at it to my mom so i cant say it was the worst. but hey!

anyway i like my big fat greek wedding a lot, wanna see the 3rd sometime too but never got around to it. it just vibes and is fun. and again like i said before, greek rep wasnt the most important thing ever growing up (even if it is super cool to see and does make me very happy to have our culture acknowledged outside of ancients!) but it does make me understand why representation is important in a more general way and why it means so much to people. and i also understand that it can mean a whole lot more to people whove been historically treated way worse by media. like, lack of acknowledgement is one thing, but outright malicious stereotypes are another. i do get this with lgbt+ rep too but since i was lucky enough to be born in a time where its becoming the norm i also cant imagine how it must have seen so much worse and then live in a world where every cartoon has 2 girls kissing. its not perfect and often corporate but... also a good sign

sorry this post is super stream of consciousness so its probably all over the place but i think my general thoughts are that ppl who shit on a series for having any kind of representation they dislike (being "too progressive" or something) is not only an awful unsympathetic person but also like. on the flip side will never know the joy of seeing yourself like that. but i do realize it also comes with the tradeoff of not being seen to begin with so its not like its a net positive but... those ppl still wont know! they will not understand the true joys of "[country] mentioned!!!!" when the country is The United States Of America. the end

:)c YESSS i love talking abt maceghost.. i know ive made a bunch of sporadic posts about them but i havent done a like dedicated hcs post. i feel like often im struggling to understand the narrative of their past but generally i keep the same vibe to it all.

mace is for sure the more level headed of the two only because relationships and love freak ghost out. ive mentioned on a post like years ago hes traumatized by watching his mother stick with his father and i still believe this. hes like scared to be in a position where something Isn't working anymore but hes too emotional to cut it off so he self sabotages the relationship so mace will get pissed and stop talking to him.

in the past (as i mentioned in another post) mace Did also feed into this. he had a good home life but his own personal issues and anger at more outward issues caused him to like. seek an outlet for this sort of petty squabbling. and he found it in ghost. until he got tired of festering and being pissed off all the time and decided to actually like Do Shit he feels good about. and he broke up with ghost.

now in modern times where theyve caught up with each other it's like a weird mash of their past and them both being more mature. ghost struggles more because hes very adverse to actually improving himself and how he feels about himself bc hes like. hes Given Up on being a person. while mace has done a lot of healing.

like the toxic factor of maceghost Is Ghost at this point to me. but theres a lot of love there bc theres a lot of mutual respect and, like, easy familiarity there. mace understands how ghost works at his core.

so like. when ghost is being Normal and not anxious they literally just. like. Click? mace can extremely put ghost at ease with just his presence. and mace in turn rly enjoys his company bc a calm ghost is actually just sort of casually funny.

and ghost does like making mace laugh i imagine mace has a really beautiful smile bc he has resting bitch face so when it lights up it's very special.

ghost also i think would be 100% willing to take his mask off in a room of just him and mace. no special occasion needed he's just comforted. mace has already seen it over many, many years.

because they're like an Old couple i think theyve been on and off since their mid twenties for ghost and late twenties for mace. WHICH is another reason mace like wont entertain the childish picking ghost does theyre literally too old.

but he does play along a little. sometimes. old habits die hard. if it's petty mace will have a back and forth w ghost for old times sake its just how ghost communicates sometimes. emotions are just hard for ghost mace understands this. to put all of this simply.

i will say tho if more comes out and they end up more antagonistic than my current read i will still be a huge stan i love when dudes try to fuck and kill each other 💪🥰💕

hey girl! happy to—the buccal fat removal was pretty simple compared to the other surgeries, but it was still very painful. as i understand it, the surgeon made incisions on the inside of both of my cheeks, and entered that way, and sucked out the “buccal fat yolk,” as he called it. he explained to me that there’s a pouch of fat there that is yolk-like, and does not usually disappear, even with dramatic weight loss, except in cases of extreme malnutrition where there is no reserve left. that’s how he put it, anyway.

so, he essentially stabbed inside my cheeks through up where the “cheek fat” was, just under my cheekbones, and sucked the fat through those incisions and stitched them from the inside. it was, as i said, extremely painful, and eating and drinking was very difficult for a long time. the scars are inside my cheeks and i can still feel them if i run my tongue over them.

the entire cheek area on both sides, inside and out, is mostly numb. sort of like… when Novocain has started to wear off at the dentist.

but i get sudden, electrifying wallops of pain where the buccal fat used to be at completely random times. i get at least one or two a day. it is pretty agonizing, ngl. it feels like instantaneous nerve pain, if you’ve ever had a dentist nick a nerve on a sensitive tooth. it runs through the cheek into my sinuses and down into my gums and it takes my breath away. when these episodes first started happening i genuinely thought i was having a stroke.

i get a lot of migraines now (brow and temple) and my jaw sits really uncomfortably—i’m always having to bite my inner cheeks or suck my cheeks in manually, or else they become fatigued.

a good experiment is—try to hold your mouth open as long as you can. just—open like a crocodile. as wide as you can go, until your cheeks reach the utmost point of fatigue. that’s what it feels like all the time if i try to relax my face—unless i am constantly drawing in my cheeks or making a “duck face,” my cheeks feel fatigued. i don’t know why—maybe they’re strained without the fat there to support them. collapsing, i guess.

it’s really uncomfortable tbh. i’ve gotten used to it, but it sucks.

and it just looks weird as hell too. all it did was age me and make me look dehydrated and starved.

ykw, i guess it really has affected how i do everything with my mouth and facial expressions. they all had to change in some way to accommodate the new “dimensions.” i wish i could show a before and after pic, bc i had a ton of nice healthy buccal fat and now i just look soooo hollowed out and honestly i look so bad lol. i smile differently, i make all my expressions differently. what feels “natural” is kind of weird—cheeks sucked in manually, or lips sucked into my mouth manually. biting of upper and lower lips into the mouth. just… a constant need to draw the face inward to relieve the cheek fatigue.

which leads me to say that once again there does not seem to be a resting position for my face anymore. it’s a neverending strain on the cheek muscles. maybe that’ll change over time—or maybe i’ll strengthen the cheek muscles with facial yoga, idk. but for now it’s a constant nagging need to keep my cheeks sucked in or my lips drawn into my mouth, like this…

…so that they’re supported in some way from the fatigue. idk, it’s really weird. hate it.

the sudden pains are pretty bad too esp bc i never know when they’ll happen. there’s no trigger, really, but i have noticed that cold or hot drinks/foods mean they’ll happen within the half hour. the worst is when they happen WHILE i’m drinking hot coffee or am mid-chew in food. i’ve almost choked a few times that way, lol. super annoying.

Hi! How do I feel less bad about my body as a fat transguy?

(Esp pre and post testosterone/surgeries)

Been sitting on this one for a little bit because well, I'm a pre-everything fat trans guy. And I struggle a lot with the same thing, often. But here's what I've found works best for me.

1. Look at pictures of other guys that have a similar body type to you, especially those who are happy and living their best lives.

How do you feel about these guys? Generally positive, or at least neutrally I'd assume. I'm personally attracted to guys, so I see them with a very positive outlook. Remember that these guys are similar to you- as bad as you might feel, you see these guys as valid and worthy, maybe even attractive if you swing that way. You look like them too. Or, if they're post T and you're not, you WILL look like them. Goals, as they say.

2. If you can't start with body positivity, start with body neutrality.

Others have said it better, but if you can't bring yourself to believe that your body is handsome, incredible, wonderful, or whatever other description you want to strive for, start smaller. Your body takes you from place to place. Your body is what people hug when they want to hug you. Your hands are what you use to do your hobby of choice. Adapt to your personal situation, and work up to body positivity over time.

3. Consider your body a customization project

This one's a little weird. Yes, absolutely your body is perfect as is. But most of us, throughout our lives, are going to have a body that changes. Be it from transitioning, body modification, general wear and tear, your body will change over time, and from the day you were born has become a museum to a lived life. I have found embracing the idea of body customization has done wonders for my self esteem. These things can be temporary, like dyed hair or body paint or makeup if you're so inclined, or more permanent, like tattoos, piercings, and medical transition if that's available to you. I find it easier to love a work in progress than an empty canvas, and that's made the wait for medical transition far more bearable, and has let me love my pre-everything body a lot more.

If you can't/don't want to do tattoos, piercings, makeup/body paint or other similar things, consider something less drastic. I started lifting heavy shit around my apartment in an attempt to get stronger, and seeing that my body is able to do that now gives me great satisfaction when I can use that skill to help around the house, or at work. Plus, this one is more typically considered "masculine", so gender moment.

4. Get fatphobia out of your life.

Society at large is hostile to fat people, especially those of us who are otherwise marginalized, like by being transgender. Surround yourself with people who fight back against that, or who celebrate fat bodies like they deserve to be celebrated. Work on any internalized fatphobia you might have- because you're worthy of love and appreciation at any size.

5. Spend time with other fat trans guys, both online and irl if you can.

We have wildly varrying lives, varrying life stories, and skillets. But we all have something to offer in our community, and we shouldn't isolate ourselves. Trans masculinity is beautiful. Trans bodies as a whole are beautiful. Fat bodies are beautiful. And all that's easier to see when you're around people that are like you. Thin, white, late teens early 20-something trans boys are not the normal, just one flavor of guy to exist with the most visibility. Your body isn't an outlier, just part of the massive spectrum of guys out there. And you deserve to be appreciated and celebrated for that.

I hope this was of some help to you, and maybe to others. It was a little hard to get my thoughts together, since I struggle with this problem myself. I'm lucky enough that I live with and love other fat transmasc people who are very vocal about their love for myself and my body, and have helped me form a healthier relationship with my body. But I know not everyone is lucky enough to be in that situation, so that's my advice.

Fuck it, male muscular torso art tutorial 🧵✍

Take my hand, let's draw pecs and six-packs together.

I usually start with a trapezium. Almost a tall rectangle. No, really. The "typical athletic male torso" is somewhere between a rectangle and a trapezium. You might want to begin with a basic front view, arms more or less lowered.

The chest takes from one third to almost the upper half of the torso, sort of. We can round the chest a bit, open it to connect with the shoulders. Abs take about half of the torso's width. I tend to emphasize the sides a bit, though. Make room for obliques and ribs.

Between the chest and lower pelvic area, divide in half but a bit higher, then do it again. You've got the base for the abs! The upper row is sometimes not visible (esp. in shorter people). Obliques generally start around the lower row, "folding" around it and the thighs.

Nipples vary a lot, actually! But anywhere in the lower half, mid-outer part of the chest is usually right. They tend to look higher when arms are raised, lower when... lowered, or hunching. Also lower on really bulky, near boob-like pecs.

Pecs can be really tight, really smooth, really flat... depends on muscle mass, fat, or genes! They can even have a small cavity around the center, usually more visible in thinner people, and anime characters. Clavicles like a SUPER flat V! Linked to shoulder position.

Be careful when defining abs, as skin is a continuum and it doesn't usually do hard cuts. At this point, references are golden, as they help you get a feel of their volume. Navel also varies in height, between 3rd-4th row of abs. The 4th row fuses near the pelvis.

At some point you might want to adjust the general shape with, say, the Transform tool. That's fine! I do it all the time, usually on the sketching stage, as lines tend to get muddy. As for serratus, this group usually follows the abs to the ribs in a gentle curve.

Once you get a feel of the structure, you may decide to simplify it a bit. Perhaps your character isn't that "defined" over there, that's good too! Just keep the basics in mind. Also, watch out for the latissimus. It belongs to the back, but you can see it sometimes.

Cleanup time! I like to use varied line width to make some shapes pop a bit more. Also, here are some notes regarding the shape I used for this particular character's torso. Each one is different! Can you guess who this is?

And we're done! Danny is here is actually being a bit of a tryhard right now... But since his arms are a bit separated, I added a bit of the latissimus shown earlier. Hope you found this useful!
