Evening was coming. Lisa was flipping through her books on the warm porch. She was very confident in her talents. However, she was also aware there was so much she still had to learn. The book had taken her until something caught her eye. There was a figure on the horizion, catching the evening's first moonlight. The size of the man made her think it was her husband, but then she was able to take a better look. She realized that was someone who was hurt. She put the book down and started to run towards the man, "Please! Don't take another step! Save your strength," She looped the man's arms around her shoulders, "My name is Lisa. I am a doctor. I am here to help you."

that post that was going around the other day that was like “they are not literally father and son they are 18 and 25″ or whatever is what I think of every time someone calls Yoko the team mom or whatever. Like she’s 24 and Soma and Mina are 18, and in Dawn’s manual she’s described as an older sister figure to Mina so I don’t get why people wouldn’t just say that. You’re just hating on Soma’s 2 gay dads who aren’t dating

It occurs to me that I haven't yet articulated something percolating in my mind. I've never read Dracula but I have been exposed to a (very different) stage production and the 90s movie. And I've seen plenty of references to it in other media and people imitating Bela Lugosi saying "I vant to suck your blood."
Which brings me to my point. Up until recently reading Dracula Daily, I just never even questioned the concept of Dracula, and most vampires in general, wanting to hunt and kill people for their blood. Like, blood is their food; when they are hungry they want human blood, like mosquitoes or ticks or whatever.
However, since reading Lucy's description of her experience being preyed on by Dracula, it's made me think I have been missing Stoker's point. And that many vampire story creators also don't address (and they certainly don't have to).
Dracula is feeding on Lucy's soul. The blood is incidental. He's draining her of herself. That's why strength of character makes a difference. Mina has built her character, the strength of her soul, in ways Lucy was always prevented from doing. Same with the captain of the Demeter. As captain, he was a stronger character than any other crew member, so he could resist being consumed. It's about way more than blood.
Idk if I'm conveying my epiphany very well. It's not that the idea of vampires eating souls is new to me. It's more that I think the blood part of it has been way overemphasized. Blood consumption has become the defining characteristic of vampires, and I think it's not at all what Stoker was trying to convey. They are demons that consume the spirit of a person. That's what makes what they do so evil and devastating. If it was just blood, it could be neutral in certain circumstances. But it's not blood. It's everything that makes a person who they are.

Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors?
ooooOOOooooooh
Does it make a difference whether ut's Audrey II from the original movie, from the stage musical, or from the film adaptation of the musical? I think their (her? its?) character is largely the same in all three, but I believe only the third text provides any mechanism by which the plant can be destroyed: electricity. And there is no electricity in Castle Dracula (presumably just one of many reasons he's looking for a new house).
The trouble with Audrey II is that she and Dracula are two of a kind - obligate hæmovores bent on conquest who exert a mesmeric power and have satanic/demonic coding (Audrey II as a Tempter, Dracula just for funzies). Who is playing whom? Is Audrey II there as Dracula's invited guest? Or did this Strange Plant just appear in the Castle during a TO-TAL E-CLIPSE OF THE SUN (da-doop).
[I looked it up, there was a total solar eclipse on April 16th, 1893 - the date on which, according to Stoker's notes, Jonathan Harker visited Mina at her schoolroom before departing for Transylvania - probably for the purpose of proposing. This is a convenient moment for Audrey II to have arrived on our planet. Unfortunately this eclipse was off the coast of Brazil, which is a bit out of the way for our purposes]
Okay it's bothering me - what are Audrey II's pronouns? The human characters refer to the plant as "it." Or should it be "she," because Audrey II self identifies as a mother (specifically, one that is mean, green and from outer space). Is there any clue botanically - Audrey II reproduces both sexually and asexually (that is, both via flowers and via cuttings - and possibly spores? As in "I swear by all my spores" - but Audrey II at least appears to be an angiosperm why are there spores?? But Audrey II is also an alien so maybe the question is "why not") I... yeah I dunno. You guys decide:
So okay. We know Audrey II can fake being in distress to basically beg for treats. Like Dracula, feeding seems only to increase its hunger (and power). All plants will happily drink blood (they sell blood meal fertilizer, it's a good source of potassium) but Audrey II seems to actually require it. Does this mean she doesn't require normal Plant Things like water and sunlight? Seymore initially cares for it like an ordinary plant and it doesn't help, but it remains unclear whether the blood is sufficient as well as necessary. Like, it's not like he stops watering it, right? Although given that the plant travels through space and arrives during an eclipse, it might well not require things like sunlight and rain.
Does Dracula want a houseplant that is going to be competing with him for nourishment? Or is it convenient that he doesn't have to go for groceries twice, as it were? Since Audrey II frequently eats people whole, is this a good waste disposal unit to avoid vampire toddlers clogging up the Castle? Will Audrey II be content being tossed the scraps and leftovers of the Castle's humanoid residents. Does Dracula really want a fourth thing in his Castle incessantly demanding to be fed? Audrey II is not particularly solicitous about her needs - and very much does not do as she's told.
Audrey II is fundamentally a Tempter - what can they offer to Dracula that he can't already do for himself? There's a reason that Audrey II textually preys on a desperate impoverished orphan - just as Dracula does. I want to say Audrey II is a master manipulator but... really all they seem to do is find a poor schmuck with nothing going for him, give him a taste of success, and then browbeat him into submission. Dracula will not respond well to this approach. Dracula is not really the right kind of Mark for the Mean Green Mother from Outer Space - until or unless he actually moves to London. It's no Cleveland, but it's still extremely edible.
I guess what I keep circling back to is that they're too similar. They want the same things - to glut themselves on teeming millions in an ever-widening circlre of ...plants... perhaps for centuries to come. Neither is terribly useful to the other because they each have the same role. Dracula is not going to be feeding Audrey II with his own blood - he may decide to feed it with other people's blood but... why? Audrey II can't tempt Dracula with fortune and fame and the girl of his dreams. Neither is going to be especially tolerant of the other's attitude. Most frustratingly, neither one can eat the other. Well, Audrey II physically can eat Dracula (if someone's been feeding her up to this point), but I doubt Dracula would fall for "come close enough to trip and fall into my open mouth" you know? Especially with the shape-shifting and the mistform and all that.
Okay wait I think I've got it. Dracula and Audrey II is kind of a non-starter, but Dracula isn't the only person who lives there. I think the Girlies and Audrey II could come to some kind of arrangement. They'd feed it their leftovers, and in return the world's Most Interesting Plant might be an ally for them against Dracula. Again though, nobody is going to respond well to Audrey II just hurling abuse at them when she doesn't get her way. But I am enchanted by the idea of the Girlies and their Green Best Friend moving to London in Dracula's place and opening a little flower shop and then just happily eating people together forever. Maybe they can set up next door to that pie shop in Fleet Street
I am gonna call this one at I really don't know

A Dozen Or So Great Vampire Ladies
Ok, so, on a mostly unrelated post the topic of good vampire ladies came up, and @bisexualdaikaiju suggested/challenged me to do a top 10 vampire women list. As a self-professed lover of vampire women, it felt like a challenge I couldn't back down from. But it is kind of challenging, for two kind of contradictory reasons.
First, while there are MANY female vampires in fiction, most of them feel like afterthoughts, getting far less characterization than their male counterparts, who more often than not are the star villains of the show. When these supporting lady vampires do get something to do, it's generally the same role: make their human lovers sad when they rise from the dead as a monster that has to be killed, an emotional beat that is often undercut by a lot of these vampire women not getting much characterization to endear them to us before they died. Everyone wants to have the Lucy Westerna plot beat from Dracula but they don't want to do the work that Bram did to make Lucy lovable. The lady vamps who get to step out of Lucy's shadow are rare - but that just makes them all the more wonderful.
The second problem is that, since this is an obsession of mine that few seem to share (there are lots of vampire fans, but man do the boy vamps get to hog the spotlight among them), I've done a lot of scattered thinking about it and I just know I'm bound to forget at least one excellent lady vampire character that should be here. And whittling it down to ten, and trying to rank them? That's too hard! My thoughts are too mercurial to do that reliably in a way I don't forget!
So instead here's a list of, like, a dozen or so lady vampires that I think are just fucking stellar, many of which I think break the mold of what pop culture makes us expect lady vampires to be. It is not ranked - I love all these characters more or less equally, and think it's a lot more interesting to see how they take their archetype in different directions than to figure out which one is "best" of the lot.
Carmilla Karnstein
Tumblr media
I'm going to start with the most famous literary female vampire, Mircalla Karnstein from Carmilla. I think she might be the first vampire to have an unhealthy obsession with using anagrams of her real name as aliases, though I'm sure now that I've typed that someone will find an earlier example to school me. She's also the one who popularized the idea of lady vampires being extremely sapphic, with an arguably genuine romantic affection for her female victims. She's got well-deserved clout, basically, and like Dracula has been adapted countless times and reinterpreted in some excellent ways. My favorite screen Carmilla is Ingrid Pitt's take, which captures her fierceness, passion, and tragic nature so well.
2. Amy from Fright Night
Tumblr media
Ok, we're having one Lucy Westerna knockoff on this list, but as Lucy knockoffs go, Amy is one of the best. It actually helps that she spends 90% of her movie as a human, because we get to know and love her so much before she turns monstrous. And once she does...
youtube
It is pants-shittingly terrifying. I will never stop raving about the vampire designs in this movie - they made their "game faces" so fucking monstrous and I feel like in a better world this would be the standard ever since, especially since they still gave the vampires pathos while making them so ghastly when they've got their feeding faces on.
3. Drusilla
Tumblr media
Buffy the Vampire Slayer had a bunch of vampire characters, and to its credit they did a decent job of making the ladies just as distinct as the gents. Harmony and Darla could both have made this list, but my favorite was always Drusilla, who was so traumatized before she became a vampire that it kind of overwhelms the demon spirit inside her. Like, bare minimum thing to make a lady vampire more interesting than 90% of other female vampires in fiction: give her at least one personality trait, preferably an interesting one, outside of being a vampire. Drusilla's fun, and she survives the entire series after dumping her boyfriend to be a single female vampire. Good for her.
4. Ruby from Scary Godmother
Tumblr media
Ok look I am a fake Scary Godmother fan but kudos to the artist of the books for making a lady vampire who's very clearly of the nosferatu mold and is also explicitly benign and sweet. A+ vampire lady character design. I hope it doesn't awaken anything in me.
5. Nadja
Tumblr media
What We Do in the Shadows is excellent at finding new takes on vampires in general - it even made me actually like Psychic Vampires as a concept, a feat I thought was impossible - but goddamn do I love Nadja specifically. She's got a distinct personality as vampire ladies go, being very confident and self-assured while also being a complete fucking goober (it is a comedy, after all). She's perfectly capable of being terrifying AND hilarious, often at the same time. A vampire girl failure, in the parlance of our site. I love her.
6. Lady Dimitrescu
Tumblr media
I know that she's apparently only in a fourth of the game, but it's still pretty great that Resident Evil 8 decided its mascot villain - its equivalent of the Tyrant, G, Nemesis, etc. - would be the hottest woman I've ever seen a milf an 8 foot tall lady vampire. She's not dainty and willowy like most lady vamps in fiction - not an ambush hunter - but rather HUGE and capable of tossing a human around like a rag doll. She's a physical powerhouse and she looks fine feminine while doing it. Despite being an unabashed blood-sucking monster, she still has enough depth and complexity to have important relationships (like a genuine love for her "giant mass of hive mind flies" daughters), and also she gets to have an awesome transformation into a fungal vampire dragon, which is rad as hell. Also goddamn, her fashion sense is immaculate.
7. Hecate from Hellboy
Tumblr media
"Hey, she's not a vampire! She's a goddess! That doesn't count!" Fuck you, my list, my rules. Hecate posits herself as the progenitor and mother of vampires, she drinks blood, and her main form in the comic is as a sicknasty lamia version of the iron maiden used by Elizabeth fucking Bathory, if she doesn't count as a vampire, nothing should. She is the concept of a vampire amped up to maximum capacity, a major mythological figure and an awesome villain.
...also I lowkey shipped her and Hellboy when I was a teenager. They could have made it work!
8 - 12. Carmilla and her girl squad from Castlevania
Tumblr media
I suppose I could have counted Castlevania's Carmilla as an adaptation of Miss Karnstein - they're both basted out of Styria, both sapphic, and it's clear she's meant to be an adaptation of the former, just as the Dracula of this show is meant to be a take on Bram's famous vampire. But ultimately they're VERY different characters in the grand scheme of things - Castlevania's Carmilla has none of the tenderness and vulnerability of her literary counterpart, instead being full of barely restrained fury. She is an excellent villain, complex enough to be interesting but thoroughly despicable enough to make it VERY satisfying when she bites it.
I also love her girl posse... in concept, at least. They've all got great designs and the groundwork of interesting characters, but of the the three, only Lenore, the waifish redhead, gets to do much of note. The two on the edges kind of just show up for a few scenes and then bail before the plot catches up to them, doing very little of note - though at least the big hunky one gets one of the coolest fight scenes in the whole show.
youtube
Back to Lenore though - she gets a really nice character arc, and manages to become one of the few sympathetic vampires in the series (while still doing a lot of monstrous shit - she is not a defanged vampire by any stretch). I think her death scene is one of the most moving moments in the series finale.
13. Seras Victoria
Tumblr media
A good female vampire has at least one non-vampire part of her personality, right? Ok, so, Seras is:
the muscle in almost every scene she is, which is to say, the one absolutely beating the shit out of people while her allies run for cover
the perky henchman/morality pet of one of history's greatest monsters
the sole ray of sunshine in cast of edgy, cigar-chomping grizzled mercnaries and antiheroes she's been pressganged into fighting alongside
the victim of some HIDEOUS trauma even before her vampirization
the protege of a wise master who gets a full hero's journey arc, taking up his mantle at the end of the series
Like, I love her. She's the secret protagonist of Hellsing. She's got layers like an onion. The scene where she killed Zora Blitz reminded me why I love anime.
youtube
(yeah it's the TFS version fuck you)
14. Youko Shiragami
Tumblr media
My Monster Secret is not a horror manga. It is a romantic comedy about a bunch of idiots trying to keep painfully obvious secrets hidden and succeeding only because almost everyone around them is as dumb as they are, just in very different ways. It is a manga where an entire chapter can be summarized as "all the characters race to get the last McRib, using their various supernatural abilities to try and cheat their way to the front of the pack." It is one of the funniest and most heart-warming stories I have ever read, one of my favorite romances of all time, and an excellent piece of long form story-telling.
One of the two main characters is Youko Shiragami, a vampire girl who can't let anyone know she's a vampire or else her dad will pull her out of school. She desperately wants to have a normal life with friends and, like, school shenanigans, but her fear of people uncovering her secret and hating her is so immense that she's been isolating herself from everyone, accidentally torturing herself by being close to what she wants but unable to actually have it.
At least, until Kuromine, the other main character of the story, discovers her secret while trying to ask her out on a date. He ends up promising to keep her secret, and the two of them form a real friendship that blossoms into a very sweet romance, where Youko gets to display all her incongruous personality traits that go against what you'd expect of vampires - namely, that she's kind of a ditz, with an unrefined style of speech and a complete inability to be suave and seductive. She's a sweet, flaky goofball with a big heart, who just happens to drink blood and tan really quickly in the sunlight. There is no other vampire like her, and the world is richer for her being in it.
15. Marceline, the Vampire Queen
Tumblr media
This list isn't ranked, but if it was, I'd put Marceline at the top. I think she is not only the most unique and deeply characterized lady vampire in fiction, but ranks right up there with Dracula in how she redefines the idea of what a vampire can be. Like, look at the forms she takes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are DOZENS of different monstrous shapes Marceline takes during Adventure Time's 9+ seasons of television, and any one of them would be a superb and memorable vampire on its own. And she's ALL of them. Just on a design standpoint, she is a standout. I think only Dracula himself could compete.
youtube
But she also explores what the concept of what a vampire is in ways no other vampire in fiction can, in part because of the unique nature of Adventure Time's setting. In a world where humans are an extreme minority and most people are weird monsters, a vampire isn't that odd, so we get to explore what being a vampire means divorced from the comparison to "normal" human beings. There's the expected tragedy to Marceline, of course - she's a 16 year old who has been stuck in that adolescent state for hundreds of years, and much of her character arc over the show (including the magnificent vampire-centric storyline, "Stakes") focuses on the horror of being stuck in that transitional state, not quite a child but not quite an adult. Marceline struggles to mature, to understand herself and others, and her vampirism both keeps her distant from reaching those goals but also gives her a lot of time to figure out how to approach them when the opportunity arirves. Marceline goes from one of the most immature and selfish characters in the show to perhaps the most emotionally intelligent, blossoming into a sensitive and thoughtful person she could never have been without first becoming a creature that seems so inherently opposed to ever having those traits.
And she did it all in a children's show where she was rarely if ever allowed to actually drink blood - a problem the writers got around by having her suck the red color out of things, which is right up there with the Joker Venom from BTAS in terms of genius ideas spawned by children's show censorship.
Marceline is the GOAT.

So it’s easy to fill in what Agatha refuses to tell Mina about Jonathan’s ramblings as just general vampire stuff, but I think we get a lot of clues about what secret she’s keeping, and it’s not that.
For one, she doesn’t tiptoe around saying it included talk of “blood and demons.” Mentioning vampires is no worse than mentioning demons, so if that was the Big Secret between him and God then she’s already betrayed that trust. Also, the villagers at the beginning of the book whispered of vampires and witches and the like, so it’s not some unspeakable word Agatha won’t repeat.
And then there’s this:
Sister Agatha . . . tells me that he raved of dreadful things whilst he was off his head. I wanted her to tell me what they were; but she would only cross herself, and say she would never tell; that the ravings of the sick were the secrets of God, and that if a nurse through her vocation should hear them, she should respect her trust. . . . She opened up the subject again, and after saying that she could never mention what my poor dear raved about, added: 'I can tell you this much, my dear: that it was not about anything which he has done wrong himself.”
At first this may seem like a non sequiter, but if you take it in the context as a response to what Jonathan was raving about, it feels very pointed. I feel that this is brought up because she said it to Jonathan himself. That his ramblings were of guilt and despair over what happened to him, that now he’s unclean—just like Mina will weep over later after she falls into Dracula’s power.
Put the pieces together, and you have Sister Agatha saying that what she heard during Jonathan’s fevers are secrets she can’t betray his confidence for, even to his wife; that it’s likely something he felt guilt over and had to be told is not his fault; and that it’s of a topic so dark that Sister Agatha hesitates to repeat it.
It all adds up to Jonathan’s ramblings being about being violated by Dracula: metaphorically for certain through the blood drinking, possibly also sexually. It makes Agatha’s insistence that it wasn’t his fault make much more sense, but also makes her care that much more powerful. Even today it’s rare to get a narrative sympathetic to survivors of assault, let alone male survivors.
(Others have also spoken of how Saint Agatha is the patron saint of rape survivors: who they could pray to for support and intercession when they’re suffering. If purposeful, that would be a VERY heavy-handed allegory in her care for Jonathan. But even if not, all the other context is there.)

If it's quite alright with you, I would like to request Castlevania's Alucard with a female s/o who helped take dracula down. I imagine she takes Grant's place from the videogame,(they never adapted him in the anime 😔).
Love to see Alucard with a bossy, mischievous girl boss.
A/N: Hello aaa thank you for the request!! I had to do some background checking on Grant since I didn't actually play the games (fake fan fr) so I hope this sounds okay! I rewrote this like 4 times because I didn't know if HCs or a full drabble would be better ;A;
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this! It was fun writing a S/O like this!
TW: none!
Alucard with a sassy S/O ☼Oh, she was bossy alright. After the curse was lifted and she realized she had supernatural powers that never went away after being turned back to human from that demonic form (don’t ever ask her how that came to be, she’ll just shrug. How do you even explain that?) she felt more invigorated to go and fight Dracula, completely ignoring the three that saved her life. ☼“A thank you would be nice” Trevor would grumble, and she’d turn around with a taunting smirk. “I would say thank you if it weren’t for the fact you almost killed me along the way.” Was her retort, and before Belmont and company could even speak she marched her way along to the castle. “Are you coming?” she questioned ☼If y’all thought the trio was fun with their bickering you should see the way she gangs up on Trevor with Alucard! But only when Sypha wasn’t around, she had to maintain an image around the woman (that she wasn’t just as childish as the boys were, liar.) ☼“Come on Belmont, don’t listen to Alucard. I think your whip is cool. Just...not as cool as the magical sword that floats around him all the time.” She’d throw a wink at the Dhampir, who couldn’t help but blush up his neck and cough into his hand to cover up his embarrassment.  ☼Turns out, she was actually super helpful in the fight against the night creatures that crawled around Dracula’s castle, along with the vampire generals. Effortlessly jumping from wall to wall, slicing through skin and cracking bone with superhuman strength and a dagger, she really did help clear the way to Dracula for them to finish the job. ☼With all said and done, Trevor and Sypha packed up to leave, Alucard assumed you’d be going with them. ☼Imagine everyone’s shock when you shyly looked down at your scuffed boots and asked if it would ‘be alright if I stayed around. I quite like it here with you’.  ☼The teasing that would ensue from the nomadic duo would be endless until they finally left.  ☼Fast forward after defeating Death, and village Belmont being established (she still calls his Village Treffy) she’s just as fiery as she was in the beginning. The only difference is the outward love and affection she shows Alucard. And if anyone said anything about it, she’d simply flick them off with a middle finger. ☼Sometimes though, that didn’t work out the best in her favor, and would come home with cuts and bruises.
“My love, please don’t think you have to fight for my honor or something ridiculous like that.” Alucard would sigh, lightly dabbing at the cut above her eyebrow, apologizing silently when she winced. “Adrian, how am I supposed to let it go when they have something awful to say about you? You let them live on your land, build them a village, saved them from Danesti. And they have the nerve to insult you for being half vampire!” You got too animated, clutching your head where the blow landed. Alucard clicked his tongue, continuing to care of the cuts and bruises.
“Plus, if you think I look bad you should see the other guy.” She joked, flexing an arm that wasn’t currently being bandaged up. “You didn’t think I’d lose did you? I have to look cool for our nephew that's on the way!"
Oh, he was absolutely smitten with her.

If you can do you think you can do the Papas (separate of course) with a reader who bites as a form of affection?
Yes yes YES I absolutely can!! I personally would prefer to bite than be bitten (unless you're a vampire. You hear that, secret vampires living on tumblr? Come and bite me!! I'd be a great little vampire servant I swear!!) I also headcanon that the Papas all have some sort of vampire or demonic heritage so this will be a very fun set of headcanons. Hope you enjoy! There's very light suggestive content so minors DNI
𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐨
It takes him by surprise when you do it the first time
He's had many lovers in his time, and none of them have ever bitten him. He's always been the biter rather than the bitten
Primo think it's very cute once he gets used to it
Comes to expect it after you've been together for a while
If you ever stop biting him or you decrease the frequency of your bites he'll start getting concerned
He loves admiring the little bites you give him before his stupidly fast healing factor kicks in
Sometimes he'll bite you back playfully
It turns into a little play fight where you both bite each other and end up crying with laughter
"So you bite Papa? Jail! Jail for a thousand years!" (Said playfully of course)
When you're relaxing together or laying in bed, he will offer you his sleeve to bite or chew on
Calls you his junior vampire as a loving nickname
Generally loves that you show your affection in a way that's so different to other lovers he's had. He honestly prefers it to being showered with gifts
𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐨
Admittedly misinterprets it at first
Secondo thinks that it's your way of trying to get him in the mood and be rough with him
You'll have to explain to him that it's your way of being affectionate
Once you do explain it he immediately gets it and considers it an honour to be bitten by his beloved
Might tease you sometimes by covering your mouth with his hand when he senses you're getting ready to bite him, chuckling before kissing your forehead
Bite his palm while he's covering you mouth. He loves it
Does his best not to pin you beneath him and have his way with you if you bite him in certain places
Takes the time to explain to you that he loves when you bite him but where you shouldn't bite if you don't want to work him up
"Are you sure you're not the vampire in our relationship, tesore? Should I expect you to turn into a little bat and fly out of the window?" is his favourite little joke to make
Will immediately become concerned if you stop biting him all together
Anyone who gives you looks or says anything rude/unkind about you biting Secondo and he will give them the scariest, most intimidating glare he can muster
Will nip at your fingers and give you very light affectionate bites once he's comfortable enough with bites being your shared method of showing affection
𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐳𝐨
He's into it IMMEDIATELY
Thinks it's sweet that this is how you show your affection and encourages it
If he's in one of his funny moods, he'll make an exaggerated moan and dramatically fall into your arms or onto the floor pretending that he's been bitten by a vampire
He doesn't bite back because his teeth are particularly sharp and he doesn't want to hurt you
However, he will very gently nibble on your finger tips or earlobe when you're cuddling, offering you his own hand for you to bite or nip at in return
He never requires any explanation as to why you bite to show your affection
If you do explain it to him though he'll listen intently the whole time and reassure you that he's completely okay with it and wants you to show your affection however you like
For Terzo, it's just another way of bonding and showing him how comfortable you are around him
Because of how sharp his teeth are, if you ever do want him to bite you harder when you bite each other he'll get some gum shields to wear so that there's extra protection and he won't hurt you
"My very own little Dracula. How lucky I am to receive and wear every one of your precious bites, cuore mie."
Don't even try biting him less or stopping your biting. He will sulk
He jokes one day that if you bite him particularly hard he'll get it tattooed
Or at least you think it's a joke until one night he's getting undressed and you see a tattoo of the outline of one of your bites near his collarbone
𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐚
Copia may be a bit oblivious, but he knows you well enough that he figures out pretty quick that you're being affectionate
It's as natural to him as a kiss on the cheek or holding hands
Anyone stares or gives you both a look when you bite him in public and he will stare right back at them until they get uncomfortable and apologise for being intrusive
Feeling you bite or nibble on him makes him smile
It's also a great comfort to him to feel your teeth on his skin when he's feeling anxious or insecure
Like Primo, he will offer you his sleeve to chew or bite on while you relax together
He doesn't bite back often simply because he prefers being bitten to doing the biting (Terzo and Secondo make fun of him for this. Primo tells them to shut up)
Jokes that love will never be dead so long as you keep biting him
"Between you and my rats, I couldn't say who bites me more!"
Will get upset if you stop biting him completely
Genuinely thinks he's done something wrong and will try to make it up to you, even though he's done nothing bad whatsoever
You'll probably have to make it up to him with a snuggle and bite session
𝐍𝐢𝐡𝐢𝐥
He's in denial about liking it at first
Will be a little snappy about it
Tells you to stop and pushes you away if you try to do it in front of others or in a place where you could be seen
Secretly, however, he loves it. He just isn't ready to admit it to himself straight away
It actually takes you stopping completely and him being grumpy as a result of that for him to actually realise and admit to himself that he loves being bitten by you
When he apologises to you, he makes it clear that he wants it to be kept in private at first while he gets used to the idea of you biting or nibbling on him outside of your shared space
His favourite place for you to bite him is his wrist. It's a place that he can look at whenever he likes but is also easy to cover with his Papal robes in public
As time goes on, he'll encourage your biting more and more until he's finally okay with being bitten out in public and not just the privacy of your room
"Were I not an immortal demon of the night, I would think you were the vampire here and not me"
Is more than happy to bite you back, though he gets a little too enthusiastic with it
On more than one occasion, you've needed to be checked out at the infirmary when his fangs have gone deeper than intended. Just to make sure he's not accidentally started the transformation process
If at any point he thinks you're biting him less or that you're going to stop, be prepared to be berated by him. Now that he's used to it, he never wants you to stop

[18+] Pick-A-Pile: Ultimate Future Spouse Tarot Reading (PART 2)
Hello, my dear followers and random visitors of this blog of mine! Some (LOOOONG) time ago I promised a detailed and wholesome Pick-A-Pile tarot reading on your Future Spouse. This has originated in the fact I have received so many pretty repetitive Future Spouse requests that instead of doing the same type of reading 20 times, I decided to turn it into a PAC reading. Sorry to everyone who requested the future spouse reading but I’m sure you can choose one of the piles. I have made 6 piles which is a bit too long for Tumblr so this PAC reading is going to come in two parts. Make sure to treat them as if they were one reading. Remember this is still a general reading. Take what resonates with you personally, the rest was probably not meant for you. I have included physical appearance traits. And again not all of the aspects will apply to your future spouse. Dismiss the ones that don’t sound like your type. In case you need any further clarification, don’t be shy to contact me through DM or inbox or my email. If you don’t reach out to me, I will consider all your future spouse requests completed.
Disclaimer:
All of my tarot readings have purely entertainment nature
Tarot isn’t an exact science, I can never ever guarantee any of what’s said in a reading
Tarot isn’t a law or dogma to follow. You have a free will to decide no matter what the cards say.
Never make life decisions based on tarot only.
This is a general reading, take what resonates.
PART 1: PILES 1 - 2 - 3
Tumblr media
PART 2: PILES 4 - 5 - 6
Tumblr media
PILE 04 - AH PUCH
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cards: Rune Hagalaz, 7th Mansion - Visitor (The Moon Oracle), Child: Eternal (Archetype Cards), 17. Minotaur (Deep, Dark & Dangerous Oracle), Jellyfish (Wild Mystic Oracle), 22. Dhumavati (Kali Oracle), Knight of Coins, 8 of Swords, 10 of Swords (Vlad Dracula Tarot), 6 of Water / Cups, XV Corruption / The Devil, 5 of Water / Cups (Dark Goddess Tarot)
First of all, my dear Pile 4, what the hell possessed you to actually pick a pile with a Mayan demon of death who doesn’t even wait for people to die but just emerges at night and hunts them? What do you expect from a reading on your future spouse when you pick such a pile? You have been warned.
Death, pain, grieve, suffering - those are the main themes of this reading, they tinted all the cards here. Dear Pile 4, your future spouse is a person who has been through a lot! And I mean terrible stuff. They grew stronger and more powerful than you can imagine through overcoming all the loses, pain, suffering and misfortune they encountered in life. They aren’t bright and smiley all the time, they don’t come to cheer you up. They have seen things, they know the world we live in is actually worse than any kind of hell human imagination could ever come up with. They have this ‘stay away from me for your own good, you will be hurt’ type of aura. And it’s probably the reason you felt so strongly attracted to them.
It’s very likely that ever since the very first meeting, my dear Pile 4 you felt strongly pulled towards your future spouse, despite them being nothing like your ideal type. You could see they weren’t good for you, your friends, family, coworkers, postman, supermarket cashier and random people told you to stay away from this person. But you couldn’t.
Your future spouse is probably not an easy person to deal with. They have moods, like bad types of moods. While they are mostly extremely efficient, they can sometimes become just so selfish and immature it could drive anybody crazy. While the fact they suffered in life could teach them more compassion, they actually got their hearts hardened. If they could survive all they have been through, they don’t understand why all those people whine over such pesky little issues. Your future spouse might come as cruel, cold and merciless at times. They don’t really suffer fools or weak people gladly. They have high standards.
Your future spouse, my dear Pile 4, is a person with deep bleeding wounds in their soul. Those might never heal and you should know it. They might feel like outcasts in social groups, they might feel like they don’t really belong to this world chasing after happiness and positivity.
I mentioned it before that right from the very beginning you felt strongly attracted to this person, dear Pile 4. Let me tell you a secret. They felt exactly the same, even more, despite the fact that they would rather die than tell you about their moments of weakness. You turned their life upside down and they surely tried to resist you in the beginning. Once you both sort of accepted you were meant for each other, the passion arised ever so strongly. You are probably one of those couples people are at awe about why you are still together. Your future spouse probably doesn’t show much kindness or even respect to you in public but behind closed doors they become a fierce beast in the sheets. You two can go non-stop for days. Your future spouse is definitely a dom and they will not allow you to take charge, ever. On the other hand their skills and the pure enthusiasm and excitement they put into the sexual act are more than sufficient plaster to your ego. Your future spouse is a person who probably uses sex to vent, to release tension, to set themselves free, to forget about all the pain and anguish. And it means it’s really intense with them. Notice there’s Scorpion on the Hagalaz rune. Your future spouse is likely to have at least some Scorpio placements in their chart.
You and your future spouse, Pile 4, have an unusual relationship. People will never get it, to be honest with you. You are likely dependent and addicted to each other on multiple levels. Your relationship might get twisted and toxic at certain times but then again I see transformation and growth in your cards so from those bottoms of toxic hell you are able to rise and rebuild your connection to become stronger and more powerful. Your future spouse isn’t really romantic, they are hard to read, they probably like to use sarcasm a lot, they might be cynical and total assholes. If you picked this pile, you probably don’t mind. You like the challenge that comes with this relationship. You are willing to kick your spouse’s butt when they cross the line. You don’t care about celebrating your birthdays or anniversaries and you won’t mind your spouse forgetting about them because you probably don’t remember their birthday either. There are power couples and then there’s you and your spouse - the psycho power couple.
Your future spouse, dear Pile 4, is likely successful in business. They have some (many) aspects of psychopathic personality which probably got them far in their career. Maybe they are not loved by their employees, coworkers or random citizens, but they are respected and feared. Their way to the top was probably a slow and well calculated one and your future spouse is a person who secures their position and wealth.
All in all, if you have picked this pile, you are the type of person who sees all the red flags and thinks it’s carnival.

PILE 05 - LUGH
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cards: Panther (The Wild Unknown Animal Spirit Oracle), 2. Passion (Sexual Magic Oracle), Black Elder (The Wisdom of Tree Oracle), Rune Mannaz, 10 of Swords, 9 of Wands, 6 of Wands (The Runic Tarot), 10 of Cups, 4 of Wands, 7 of Pentacles (The Light Seer’s Tarot), 2 of Cups, VI The Lovers, Queen of Cups (Erotic Fantasy Tarot), 7 of Wands (The Slavic Legends Tarot)
Hello Pile 5 and let me tell you that your future spouse is the human embodiment of a panther. They have suave in them, both elegance and well-controlled power in them. When they enter the room, the conversation stops. Maybe they aren’t the most handsome person in the world, they might actually be far from it but they do have an attractive vibe to them like a wild cat in a jungle.
Your future spouse, my dear Pile 5, is a hard working and determined type of person, they know nothing comes for free in life and they are prepared to face challenges with spark in their eyes, to fight all theirs (and some of yours) battles with victorious roar and to never back away. This person is an alpha male, no matter whether they actually are a male. They work hard and party even harder. They know how to take what they want and how to celebrate their victories. The moment they decided you are going to become their spouse there was no other alternative for them and they probably chased after you and hunted you down just like a leopard taking its prey down - lurking from the trees and jumping at you, ambushing, surprising, completely disarming you with their courage and charm. I can also see that they might have been a reason for your other relationship to end. They simply stole you away from your previous lover, shamelessly and with an endearing cringe on their face. If they haven’t made you break up with someone, they probably offered you to leave your town, family, friends and community and go with them to start somewhere else. One way or another, the bridges have been burned.
Your future spouse, Pile 5, is a person of abundance. They are bigger than life. They are manoeuvring through emotions and relationships easily because they have a secret trick - they actually love people. In the most basic and simple way, they like human beings and they respect them. Despite being an alpha male type, they love women. They are always supportive, standing for their rights, pushing them towards their greatness, encouraging them. And not only women. Minorities of all kinds. They truly believe every person should become the best version of themselves and they will always offer their help and support.
I can see a lot of good health in the cards. Your future spouse might be interested in a healthy lifestyle or maybe they are naturally blessed with strong constitution and immunity. They might be sporty, they do like to move a lot and have fun. If they don’t play sports, they might like to go hiking. They are probably fabulous dancers as they have a natural rhythm in their moves. Your future spouse is more likely a dog person than a cat person, despite their panther nature.
It all sounds good so let’s focus on their chemistry with you and their sexual characteristics. If you are worried, Pile 5, that your panther turns into a hibernating bear in bed, worry no more. Your future spouse is a passionate lover. They truly enjoy the full spectrum of activities - they enjoy chasing you during courting, they enjoy seducing you, they absolutely love kissing and making out and they are absolutely unmatchable when it comes to sex. Your future spouse is an avid and fun lover. They are willing to try anything. They are likely physically fit so they can go for even some more acrobatic or risky performances which might be hazardous for cardiacs. For you it means fireworks nearly every single time. And because your future spouse is an open minded and encouraging person, you can dominate them if you want. They will have no issues whatsoever. They are likely to be a bratty and teasing sub for you. You have one of the most easygoing and natural and fun chemistry in between you.
When it comes to your future spouse’s professional life, I see a lot of abundance. They certainly didn’t inherit their wealth, they worked hard to get where they are and they know their journey isn’t over yet. They might even have tendencies towards workaholism. They probably work with people but in a way that’s honest (not a politician type). If that’s not their case, I can see them working manually as well. I mean a sexy lumberjack comes to my mind but it can be anything from builder to factory owner. A random idea came into my mind that they could work in the automotive industry.
In summary, your future spouse, pile 5, is one excellent piece of human species. Your friends are likely to envy you. No matter how many bridges you have to burn in order to straddle this stallion, it’s gonna be worth it.

PILE 06 - THOTH
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cards: Principles (The Moon Oracle), Venus in Leo, Venus in Cancer (Oracle of the Radiant Sun), Ran (Legendary Ladies Oracle), Solitude (Sacred Destiny Oracle), Capricorn (Heavenly Bodies Astrology Oracle), Stay True & Be in Your Power (Isis Oracle), Knight of Wands, 9 of Cups, IV The Emperor (Animal Totem Tarot), 2 of Wands, XX Judgement, 8 of Swords (Ancient Egyptian Tarot)
Here we go with the last of the piles. And let me tell you that your future spouse, my dear Pile 6, is the most well balanced and mature out of all of them. This is the husband and father material one, this is the one person you want to introduce to your parents, the one person you want to marry since day 1, the one person you can picture yourself having a home full of kids with because this person is reliable and grown and stable.
My dear Pile 6, your future spouse is someone of deep integrity and dignity. They don’t bend their backs nor heads but they stay humble and respectful. They have inner peace and power, they know their worth and their place in life. They might be significantly older than you or just really mature mentally. Your future spouse is a person of composure. Nothing really gets to them, they don’t lose nerves, they don’t need to raise their voice and yet they have respect and are honoured by those who know them. This is the good-king type of a person, they deeply care for everyone in their community, they lead by example, they are deeply moral and fair and loyal.
Your future spouse, pile 6, is the type of person who looks at obstacles and instead of losing hope, they focus on finding a solution. Your future spouse is a person with plan and vision, they don’t do things blindly, they come prepared and ready to the table. While they might face difficulties in life, they stick to their truth, they don’t fall for false promises, they don’t sell their soul to the devil just for the benefits of it. They would rather take the longer rocky path towards just success than to take dishonest shortcuts.
Your future spouse, Pile 6, might sometimes have arrogant tendencies and rarely become egoistic. They are a hard working and highly focused and efficient personality and it comes with a certain ego. They always have everyone's best interest in mind, though.
Your future spouse, Pile 6, is very family oriented and they love children and will very likely start a family with you as soon as you feel like it. They don’t mind dropping their seriousness and play with children on their level, they can be rather warm towards them. On the other hand, your future spouse needs time for themselves as well. They might need moments of solitude to declutter their mind, to rejuvenate their brain and detangle their thoughts. Your future spouse might like to attend solitary hobbies like fishing, gardening or even mountain climbing. They like to feel a connection with nature and hold something solid in their hands, an outcome of their hobby, be it a fish, tomato, blistered skin on their fingers or a bowl they made during their pottery classes. Your future spouse might insist on attending their hobby on their own and you need to understand it’s not because they wouldn’t love you, it’s simply their way of detoxing.
Speaking of your intimate life, your future spouse, Pile 6, is more on a traditional side when it comes to sex. They might feel better in a traditional role. You should know your future spouse is an extremely affectionate and romantic person. They bring flowers, take you to restaurants, they love all the glamour and comfort. They might even be a bit flashy during the courtship phase but in a marriage they just rain praises on you. But be aware they expect you to return the favour and praise and flatter them often. Complimenting them on anything will make them purr like a kitten. They will always notice you have changed your hairstyle, that you have a new dress or that you started to use a differently smelling shampoo - and they will show interest and flood you with compliments. Your future spouse is the type to kiss your hand, open doors for you and come to rescue when someone harasses you.
You two are the couple that was meant to be, you're the match made in heaven, you might even feel like you used to be lovers in your past lives. You understand each other on the most intimate level. You can just sit next to each other never speaking a single word and you still can tell what your spouse thinks. There’s a deeply running bond in between you and your spouse which can’t be easily broken. This marriage is a dream coming true for the both of you. It ascended your lives to another level and made you feel whole and complete.
When it comes to your future spouse’s career, they are likely to be either loyal to one company for life or I can sense a family business being passed from father / mother to son / daughter here. If your future spouse runs a family business, they are extremely loyal to the tradition of it, they probably know all the employees by name and they will teach their own children how to run the business from a young age. Reputation means a lot to your future spouse and they won’t risk it.
All in all, congratulations to you for picking the husband material pile.

I know there’s a lot of quiet lament/willfully ignoring the fact that Quincey Harker would be drafting-age by the time WW1 started, and that’s an awful thought after all the Dracula Daily community has gone through together.
But, if it was done well—how amazing would an unofficial sequel be? Where Quincey Harker is off fighting somewhere in Europe and perhaps he and a few others in his battalion get separated and encounter some new gothic horror in the woods or mountains? War ends and they try to go back to their regular lives but what they saw in the woods somewhere won’t leave their thoughts, and so Quincey writes a letter (dated, of course) to his mother and father for advice, and they send an old typed out manuscript that the group goes over together, and suddenly the next generation of polycule demon hunters is born.

Do you have any recommendations for someone who is getting into gothic fiction, and just generally, grimy Victorian novels?
I don't know if it'd be wise to start from the very beginning of gothic fiction because the works tend to be very meandering - which I appreciate mostly, but it's not really a mode of storytelling for this fast-paced plot-driven reading landscape. If you end up liking gothic fiction, you can go there.
Gothic fiction especially older ones are categorised into 'Terror' (psychological, more interior, think of movies like The Lighthouse and Get Out) and 'Horror' (visceral, exterior, think 70s slasher films) The Monk is an early gothic work that's exemplary of the Horror branch. Witnessing the downfall and perversity of the monk/the church as an institution, the way the demonic is used as a character and the wild ending(s) that you gotta build anticipation for through that thick tome make it worth reading. Carmilla is an early vampire novel that's surprisingly very sapphic. Obviously with this being a Victorian era morality work the sapphic has to be framed as only something a monster would do and that the big strong Man must defend the femmes from, but the author allowing the emotion and the sensuality to just exist between the girls is cool. There's obviously the classics: Dracula, Frankenstein, Jekyll & Hyde, any of Edgar Allan Poe's stories, even Phantom of the Opera. I'd recommend working backwards from the things you know from pop culture so you can see the differences between the original and the interpretations.

I love the monsters because I want to be submissive and breedable for them <333. I luv bigfoot, orcs, minotaurs, werewolf, the beast from beauty and the beast, cthulhu, tentacle people in general, the abominable snowman, dryads, dracula, godzilla, mothman, bowser, frankenstein's monster, medusa, owlbear, hellboy, ghosts you can't see, wendigos, biblically accurate angels, harpies, shadow people/monsters, audrey II from little shop of horrors, satyrs, venom, long-tonged goat-man demon, dragon-people, and snake ladies. I'd call myself a monsterfucker; I'd also call myself mentally ill.

Hey now how could you say such nasty things about the show? Don't you realise how important it is for lgbt representation? I bet you're some bigoted neckbeard!
Go back to your jumping pixels on the ps2 and leave us alone you gatekeeper!>:(
I know you joke and all, but it's honestly baffling to me how NFCV (and esp Nocturne) got the reputation of being woke because of one (1) bi threesome, when it's shockingly bigoted itself.
Wallachians are depicted as backward hillibillies brainwashed by the Church and engaging in bestiality: classism and xenophobia due to them being Eastern European, plus a general shallow caricature of history.
Alucard mocks the Belmonts by accusing them of being "mentally ill hoarders" and engaging in pagan rituals such as sacrificing chickens and mummifying cats: ableism and xenophobia, not helped by the fact that he's technically a nobleman looking down on common people (so classism).
Trevor is an alcoholic because of genuine childhood trauma. He's constantly mocked by other characters (and even the fucking music sometimes), he's pushed aside in favor of Alucard who is the first person who disrespects him, and eventually ditched by his own story.
Carmilla, the quintessential lesbian vampire in popular culture, jokes about being willing to fuck Godbrand only if all the men, half of the women and some of the animals dropped dead: equates having sex with women with having sex with animals.
Isaac's backstory is being a slave owned by a Catholic priest, so historically inaccurate that it can only come from the preconception that black people can only exist in Europe as slaves.
Isaac is a self-professed Muslim man who gleefully worships a demonic creature and agrees with his idea of killing "impure" people for a superior mission, justifying his sins by misquoting the Quran. His hypocrisy is never pointed out, and we're meant to admire him all the way through. I cannot make this shit up.
The generals in Dracula's court come from all over the world, with prominent Indian and Chinese vampires, but they are literally props only there to pretend the world is bigger than it actually is: the focus is given to two white Northern European vampires, Godbrand and especially Carmilla.
Striga and Morana are the laziest form of lesbian representation you could possibly have, literally Disney level of "seventh first gay character".
Alucard got "revealed" as bi in a tweet as if to reassure us that no, he wasn't raped, he enjoyed it! Pure biphobia.
Hector's whole story in S3 and 4 is disgusting rape apologism stemming from sexism, both against men (men are inherently horny and they cannot get sexually traumatized) and against women (women are never a threat and everything they do is inherently titillating).
Vampires, unholy creatures who can only exist by causing harm to humans, are treated as if they were their own separate race, and as if the Belmonts are committing ethnic cleansing against them. Case in point, Alucard being such a cunt to Trevor because oh no, his ancestors killed vampire children and kept their skulls in their hold! As if "vampire children" would be anything else than a cursed existence. (and never forget about the "cabal of vampires" controlling the slave trade in Nocturne, or how in that show vampires are the literal ruling class to be crushed by the revolution.)
oh but game isaac is offensive because he looks like a bdsm stripper or stuff. sure whatever.
At least Nocturne had the decency of fleshing out its gay couple. Yay, progress.

A History of Vampires
Vampy vampy vampires! I’m not talking about Twilight; today I want to make a post talking about the real cultural significance of vampires in different folk beliefs around the world.
Tumblr media
What Is A Vampire?
“...a mythical creature that subsists by feeding on the vital essence (generally in the form of blood) of the living.”
- Good ol’ Wikipedia
When we think of vampires, we picture Dracula in his brooding cloak sucking the life out of others. We see those characteristic fangs, an aversion to garlic, and a fatal vulnerability to sunlight.
Vampiric creatures have been noted in cultures around the world for generations.
A History of “Vampires” (Popularized in the West)
Cultures such as the Mesopotamians, Ancient Greeks, and Manipuri have folk tales of entities that are now considered to be precursors to modern-day vampires. Despite such occurrences of vampiric creatures in these ancient civilizations, the folklore for what most consider vampires today comes almost exclusively from early 18-thcentury Southeastern Europe.
The term “vampire” itself was popularized in Western Europe after reports of mass hysteria during the 18th-century. Said hysteria originated from a pre-existing folk belief in Southeastern and Eastern Europe that in some cases ended in corpses being staked, and some people were even persecuted under the accusation of vampirism.
Tumblr media
Early folk beliefs in vampires has typically been summed up to pre-existing ignorance of how the body would decompose after death, with people attempting to explain such decay through the existence of vampires.
The more personable and charismatic version of the vampire, born in fiction, came in 1819 with the publication of The Vampyre by John Polidori. Bram Stoker’s novel Dracula in 1897 would later on provide the basis of the modern vampire legend and be remembered as the most significant vampire novel in literature. However, it is worth noting that Stoker’s novel came after the publication of the 1872 novel Carmilla, published by Irish author Sheridan Le Fanu.
Folk Beliefs
In Slavic and Chinese folk traditions, any corpse that was jumped over by an animal (especially a dog or cat) was feared to become a “vampire”. There was also believed to be a risk with a body having any wound that wasn’t treated with boiling water.
In Russian folklore, vampires were said to have been witches or people who had rebelled against the Russian Orthodox Church while alive.
Within Jewish traditions, “alukah” is synonymous with vampires. The creature is said to be a living human being, but can change into a wolf. It also has the ability to fly by releasing its long hair, and would eventually die if not allowed to feed on blood for an extended amount of time. Once dead, a vampire could be prevented from becoming a demon by being buried with its mouth stuffed with soil.
Tumblr media
Albanian mythology discusses both the “shtriga” and the “dhampir”. Shtriga is a vampiric witch that sucks blood from infants while they sleep at night, then turning into a flying insect. Only a shtriga could cure those she drained blood from. A cross made of pig bone could be placed at the entrance of a church on Easter Sunday, which would render any shtriga inside unable to leave. Then, they could be captured and killed.
The Ashanti people in West Africa have folk tales of the iron-toothed and tree-dwelling “asanbosam” which can take the form of a firefly and hunts for children for their blood.
The Betsileo people of Madagascar have stories of “ramanga”, a vampire who drinks the blood and eats the nail clippings of nobles.
The Mapuche of southern Chile have stories of a bloodsucking snake known as “Peuchen”, with aloe vera being hung backwards behind or near a door to ward off vampiric entities across a variety of South American superstition.
Aztec mythology has folk tales of the Cihuateteo, which are skeletal-faced spirits of humans who died in childbirth. These entities were said to steal children, and entered into sexual liaisons with the living, which would drive them to insanity.

how canon is your f/o's canon?
I got a 💫 c u r i o s i t y 💫 for you guys to indulge in, to humor, to entertain.
How "canon" is your f/o's canon? Like, how different or how similar is your f/o's lore to the source they came from? And when you reblog, it would be really boring but also acceptable if you only answered in the tags, but like give me a whole POST to read when you reblog this post if you want to answer. Lore dump me. Lore dump everybody, I want to know how much thought you've put into your f/o whether it be generating a whole lore of your own or just learning everything about your f/o's source that you could. Or does your lore and their lore mingle, or is it not related at all?
I'll drop a couple of my f/os below the keep reading to go first :00
Smiley/Barry:
For one, his name is changed. I posted about it.
There isnt jack diddly in the movie, he does have a whole freaking backstory I made for him. I'm no pro at writing, but it's some general headcanons and lore I conjured together for him.
Dracula:
Generally same lore as the 1931 movie and the novel combined in one way or another and some things I picked up on the internet. Not super different from his sources or much added.
The most extra headcanons he has in terms of how he is might be specifics about his wolf and bat forms, but not really.
Inkubus:
Has extra/hybrid demon forms. Looks like a satyr demon, has a goat form, and his human disguise is defaulted to the one in the movie. He can mix his forms however he pleases and ofc look like/possess other people if need be.
He has some other assumed powers, probably not entirely to incubus mythology, but I don't think he really is either.
What little lore about him that's given is also generally retained/assumed.
