JAT: "I love horror so much! Unless it contains gross, immoral content like incest, rape, sex scenes, nudity or partial nudity in any shape or form, child death, jump scares, domestic abuse, torture (note: unless it's a woman torturing a man, they seem to be totally fine with that), swearing, or excessive gore. It's not REAL horror if it depicts these things! It's just for shock value and to be as excessive as possible!! Anyway I love horror so much uwu"

For the Hell of it - Crying over Tacos
Tumblr media
Character: Jason Todd x civilian! Fem!oc
Rating and Warnings: SFW, mention of past partner abuse (not Jason).
Word Count: 920
Summary: Jason and Andy make tacos and cry. Jason comforts his hurt friend.
Masterlist
Jason was in Andy’s apartment, arguing over taco fillings.
It was the first time he’d accepted an invitation and she had been afraid it would be awkward. She was awkward about a lot of things, and Jason could be skittish at the best of times, and after telling him about her abusive ex a week prior surely everything would be strange and feel forced.
It wasn’t and it didn’t.
“There’s already plenty of peppers in the beef,” she said, eyeing the innocent bowl of diced avocado.
“Only ancho and poblanos, and you cut most of the seeds out.” The tack-tack-tack of his knife against the chopping board didn’t slow down in the least.
“Yeah but you didn’t see how many habaneros went into the salsa this morning. And then there’s fresh jalapeno for garnish. What if we’re getting carried away?”
He scoffed. “Carried away, we’re not going far enough. The target, the mission, the holy grail, was spicy birria tacos. If they’re not even spicy then what was the point of getting up this morning?”
“At this rate we’ll never get up ever again! Where will our poor taste buds find reprieve?”
“So dramatic,” he sighed, like he wasn’t the most dramatic person she’d ever met. “The onions aren’t spicy. Neither’s the cheese. Or the tortillas.”
“We’re frying the tortillas in spicy fat from the beef,” she said flatly.
He made direct eye contact and scraped the sliced chillies into the guacamole.
She sighed.
“Now, how much of the…” he began as he reached for a bundle of cilantro with one hand and scratched his eye with the other.
She gasped.
“Ah fuck.”
The next fifteen minutes was spent washing his eye out with milk.
Andy resolutely did not laugh at him despite it being one hundred percent his fault. She’d been maced before and cried like a baby, capsaicin was no joke.
He handled it like a champ. Barely a whimper, despite the angry red of his eyes and tears streaming down his cheek. She was as impressed as she was sympathetic.
After he’d had as much fussing as he was going to take, he sat at the island bench with a bowl of milk and sulked.
She skimmed the fat from the top of the meat sauce with a ladle and let him feel sorry for himself in peace. She’d give it at least a week before teasing him relentlessly over it. She could call it the serrano incident. The guac fiasco? His taco troubles. Maybe she would send him pictures of chopped up peppers when he was being annoying.
“Andy.”
“Hm?”
“Come look at this,” he said. His voice was gentle.
She looked over her shoulder.
He slid his phone across the bench. “Maybe sit down first.”
She quirked an eyebrow and picked up the phone.
A headline in sensible Times New Roman script on a white background read: ‘Local Entrepreneur Kieran McLeod Arrested.’
She dropped the ladle. Sauce splashed on the stove top. She scrolled through the article with greasy fingers, her eyes speeding through a tasteless opinion piece praising Kieran for all the jobs he created, describing what a respectable pillar of the community he was, and his troubles with a violent ex partner who did worse to him than the accusations he was currently accused of. Four paragraphs in it mentioned that he was arrested on domestic battery charges and had been denied bail. There were rumours of some vigilante being involved but no details had been confirmed by the police.
The article ended on a candid photo of his current partner and latest victim, a nineteen year old woman who looked a lot like Andy.
She dropped the phone.
Jason caught it.
She hadn’t noticed him standing next to her.
“Are you okay?”
She nodded like a bobble head. She choked on a laugh.
“I’m fine.” She couldn’t even focus on him with the tears flooding her eyes. She laughed again. He squeezed her shoulder. Her heart felt like it was going to burst.
She went to wipe her eyes, and he caught her hand before she could.
“Careful. We’re all out of milk,” he said.
She had no idea why, but that was what freed the broken sob stuck in her throat. It felt like it’d been trapped there for years.
He folded her into his arms, and held her while she fell apart.
A little later Jason sat her down at the island bench and took her place at the stove.
She sniffed while he stuffed and fried the tacos. The news sank in. She wished she knew which vigilante it was and what he'd done to run a foul of that crowd, if the rumour wasn’t made up. Probably some New York hero she’d never heard of. Who even operated in Newark?
Jason slid a plate of obscenely, transcendently spicy tacos in front of her, as well as a beer.
She raised the bottle, but couldn’t think of a toast that quite encapsulated what she was feeling.
“To creeps getting what they deserve,” he said with a quiet intensity.
She clinked her bottle against his and took a swig. She smacked her lips. “And to that poor girl getting away. I hope she’s going to be alright.”
His eyes crinkled at the corners with a smile. “I think she’ll be okay.”
Feeling lighter than she had in years, she stuffed a generous bite of taco into her mouth. Kieran was in jail and she had good food and even better company. Life could be a lot worse.
“I reckon this guac needs more peppers,” she said.
“I told you!” He pointed with his bottle.
She laughed.

so there is this thing I've speculated over many times but I never mathed it out before so:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This tells us that Blaine was born at some point between 6/4/1980 and 5/4/1981 (I assume it's not his birthday bc I feel like he would have mentioned it but he also might not)
We also learn this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now this seems to slightly conflict with this -
Tumblr media
-but I'm actually more leaning towards the first one, because Angus was actually sane then (by McDonough standards) then and it's a legal "document", while the other is a "Brother Love" doing a sermon.
Also, we can see on screen, that the will was recorded on March 4th 2012 - so minus 35 years, that actually means that she's been working for him since before Blaine was born (1977 or 1978)
Which would really mean she was there all of Blaine's life. This is also kind of supported for me by this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now...in present day, Blaine mostly refers to his father by his name, using words like dad or pops etc sometimes for the sake of it. But...assuming that he's actually quoting something he remembered saying at some point (which it sure sounds like in that scene), then he must have been pretty young to still have referred to his father as "daddy" - especially considering Angus' long absence and generally...low tolerance for "weakness" or sentimentality. I feel like he wouldn't have humoured that for long but that's just speculation. But my point is that Blaine would have been pretty young at that point which supports the earlier theory that Frau Bader really was there for most of his life.
The thing is, personally I always speculated that she was hired because Angus was barely home/didn't really spend time with his son and because his mother was too mentally ill/traumatised to take care of a child. but. Unless Blaine has a secret mysterious older sibling we never hear about, Bader cannot possibly have been hired as a nanny. Which kind of makes me wonder whether she was supposed to be a kind of "caretaker" for Blaine's mother before that. (Or whatever else her connection to Angus might be)

Another introject post because nobody can take a moment to think.
If you have did and have an introject of Wilbur or Shelby and are in any way making the domestic abuse situation about you-
Disrespectfully shut the fuck up and get the fuck off the internet.
I have no respect for anyone- introject or not- who decides that domestic abuse by a creator you really like is now something you can make about you.
I saw a streamer discuss the situation and say something like, “To all the Wilbur introjects hurting, we see you.”
Why are you not seeing Shelby? She’s been hurt horrifically by a man who gave a weak apology and years of emotional scarring.
I get finding out someone you’re introjected off of did something awful. I get it. However, stay the fuck out of the conversation when it’s currently drowning out the space that we should be using to support Shelby.
I’ve never been into MCYT. It’s not my thing. I don’t enjoy it at all, but every Wilbur introject “grieving” right now needs to take a step back and realize the position they’re in.
Shelby is grieving the time spent with him, the physical and emotional wounds she’s been inflicted.
Shelby was the one who was hurt. Remember what position you’re in when you decide to speak over a victim for the sake of making domestic abuse about you.
Anyone who has decided that instead of supporting the victim, we should instead be supporting all the hurt fictives and factives of the abuser?
Shut the fuck up.
The level of disrespect is on par with Technoblade’s death, likely worse, and it’s not even been a week since this has come out.
This person was abused and instead of talking about what we can do for abuse victims, introjects are making themselves out to be one.
If you don’t want to be perceived as him then fucking source separate, but do not take the space of this away from the person who needs it the most. I can promise it’s not you.
I’ve spoken a lot about Wilbur introjects. If there are Shelby introjects, just remember that you are not your source- claiming any of what Wilbur did was real for you specifically also takes that space away from a victim.
I get this is a huge shock and everyone’s not sure what’s up, but god does the internet need an ounce of respect for fucking abuse victims.
This is why abuse isn’t taken seriously. It already isn’t. Go on and mix in a bunch of people with did with Wilbur introjects making themselves of all people out to be victims and it’s no shock Shelby’s voice might be drowned out.
Have some fucking tact, realize that you as an introject are not a fucking victim here, and kindly let this situation play out without taking the spotlight for yourself and your source issues.
If you’re so sad and ashamed and all that- fucking separate. That’s it. End of story and discussion.
The did community is a fucking cesspool.
Edit: this is not because I’ve seen one Wilbur introject acting this way- it has been all of them.
Grow up please.

Really betrays a terminal lack of reading comprehension AND self reflection to as a leftist come away from Disco Elysium convinced bougie Dora screwed over our working class hero Harrier and thus is a shrew deserving of hate, imho.
Past Harry is an obsessive, violent person (we never know if he was violent to Dora herself but even so), and a COP. The writing is very clear on how who Dora is as a person doesn't even matter at this point for Harry's obsession, and is actively hurting both of them (she's used to his phonecalls, it's a regular occurence!). As a cop we know Harry was abusive to people who were lower class to him.
And even after the final reveal, that the person responsible for the murder was someone deeply hurt and traumatized who STILL reverse-engineered the violence he committed due to an obsession with a woman (it was never about Lely and his crimes to him, not really), a woman he didn't even know and whose humanity didn't even matter to him, as a revolutionary act? People will still iron over the wonderful and heartbreaking complexity of how this game discusses people and ideology just to be boring ex wife haters? Ok.

Kohei Kadono is a fraud.
Tumblr media
[Text description: A snippet of the Crazy Heartbreakers summary, reading: Hol Horse asks Josuke what he would do if his future girlfriend asked him to change his hairstyle, but Josuke just claims that he would beat her up since he doesn't discriminate between men and women. Wondering why Josuke is so harsh, Hol Horse asks why he's so particular about his hair, but Josuke says he doesn't need a reason, it's just a great hairstyle. End description.]
I double-checked the Japanese, and this is correct.
I honest to God have no idea how Araki ever approved of this. I know he barely cares about the spin-offs, but this is unbelievable. I hope he never writes a Jojo spinoff again.

I saw your Hades posts on your spider man blog and decided to come give you a shout even though I’ve lost almost all my interest in it, but now I’m so glad that I did? The more I played the more I got turned off by the story going from “rebel and escape your abusive father” to “settle for being less mistreated so long as you allow your main love interests to give you backhanded compliments on how you’re no longer ‘useless’, don’t resent your birth mother for initially refusing to help you or be held accountable for you, and are always the only one making compromises and amends on every relationship.” The credits song straight up says “Run all you like from the place you belong” because abuse is overridden by being blood relations. I hated the fact that I’ve never seen anyone else complain about this, so your meta on MegZag seeming unhealthy and your “everything’s worse AU” with Galathes actually really hit the spot for me.... sorry if you don’t vibe with my salt shkfsfjg. I know the game’s setting couldn’t just perfectly reflect modern values but I hate how fandom just pretends everything’s fine 😭
I vibe SO much with this salt!!
Im glad for Zagreus getting to suplex his dad into trying to be better, but its the fact that Hades is only doing it for love of Persephone and not out of love for Zagreus that feels bad to me. If Persephone had decided to not return, Zagreus would be trapped in the exact same never-ending cycle of abuse he was in before, its not like he gets to grow older and move away, he's trapped for literally all eternity. And he will always be subject to Hades' authority as a resident of the underworld and as his son.
Meg being a fury and Zagreus messing up in the past doesn't change that we've seen the way she talks to Dusa, so we know she's capable of being way friendlier. I get that their complicated history and origins as gods influences that and its part of the Spice, but if Im to believe that they've grown past that into a loving relationship then I'd like to see Meg,, actually talk to Zag in a loving way. Maybe express even an implication that she's a little sorry she couldn't be in a position to help Zag escape his abuser, or any regret for the way she blamed him for his abuse while it was happening, anything at all.
I can recognize that all their relationships as immortal gods are complicated and they have different family values- but I can also call it straight up abuse and/or mistreatment cuz thats still what it is 😤

my guess is that they’re both victims of domestic abuse? Eunyung's vibe immediately changed when she flinched, like he recognized the behavior, and we know he ran away from home with minimal provisions.
meanwhile, it’s clear that her brother and father treat Marie like an indentured servant—while we haven't seen on screen physical abuse of Marie at this point in the narrative, I think her reaction here indicates there's offscreen physical abuse (we don't know why her parents got divorced, but we know her father and brother (and grandma) are sexist)

some people are being really annoying about the changes to the Ascended Astarion kiss. AA was never “Astarion’s good ending but with a fun bdsm dom-sub kick,” Larian flat-out stated that it’s the bad ending. the ritual, which offends the sensibilities of a literal Devil, is an effective selling of his soul and his humanity in every sense of the word. he damns hundreds of spawn, including children. he is no longer the person he was before the ritual. Ascended Astarion sees you as his property, point blank, not his lover or his equal. it’s a continuation of the cycle of abuse that he was put through by Cazador. pretending it was any different is to completely misunderstand the point of that ending.

wait is it like. not "normal" for parents to hit children. like i know it's fucked up and shouldn't be done but i thought it was still a widespread thing to be pushed back against bc me and all my siblings were hit anytime we "misbehaved" as kids, though in retrospect that may have been because of the catholicism so i can confirm the puritan thing is spot-on!!
I dunno statistics or anything, tbh. I know a nonzero amount of hitting can still be considered socially acceptable, especially spanking. At least where I live.
But the point is that it's absolutely unnecessary, and Not Good For You, Psychologically Speaking (this was covered briefly in a psych class i had to take. Id have to do some research again to recall the details)
There's definitely people out there that are never hit by their parents at all, and that's becoming more the norm I think.

theme of the month really is "here are the cycles of pain and suffering that people get trapped in due to generational poverty and the mental illness and addictions that naturally arise from the anguish caused by that. watch as it eats people you love. you can't save them because this is greater than yourself. they can't save themself either because the system is so stacked against them. no one else can save them either, or anyone really, on an individual level, because the cause of these problems go far deeper than that and the wheels were set into motion so long ago that there is no other path anymore. all you can do is witness."

Lee Kitae: Watery Benevolence
Lee Kitae is the eldest twin between himself and his twin sister, Sieun. The son of two well-known musicians, his life is truly nothing but starstruck memories. It was due to some negotiating by the dragons for Kitae's' mother to even be able to handle having dragon children as a human, but Kitae and Sieun were planned to the highest extent and born full-fledged dragons. As a dying breed, it was already hard to make sure that the line continued, but with help from the elder council, it happened regardless. Kitae was born quiet, and it unnerved his mother who thought perhaps he simply couldn't speak. Truly, Kitae took in everything to the point that when he did actually cry, it was due to sensory overload. Compared to his sister who was loud the moment she entered the world and then as they grew up together, Kitae was naturally, though, quiet and reserved. As the two of them grew up, it was always Kitae covering for his sister or blaming himself for her troubles she got into. Even into his school age, he was simply so quiet and endearing. His mother was always concerned for him, simply that she felt he was too withdrawn. The first time Kitae held interest in something, he was five, and it was ice skating. He was naturally clumsy at first, but as he continued and began competing, a ray of confidence shown out of the dragon as he would glide across the ice. His mother would watch his abilities get better as well; Kitae becoming a steady water dragon who held a special affinity for the rain and at sixteen, he began auditioning as well for voice acting roles, landing one in a popular franchise which also helped his career take off. When he was eighteen, everything changed for him. He met an older dragon who was building buildings and had an affinity for architecture. His parents were cautious about the match, but it was so hard to find dragons at all, they thought maybe it would turn out fine. His mother became incredibly concerned when he began turning down lead roles and started hiding his skin more. It was only after her son went through a devastating heartbreak when he found out he was the only one pining for the other dragon and ended what little relationship was left did his mother find out about the emotional abuse and physical abuse during intimacy at the hands of Kitae's ex. Kitae refused to press charges, confiding that he simply wanted to not have to see his ex-boyfriend ever again. Two years later, at nearly twenty-one, Kitae is many things. He is a voice actor, an influencer, and a single father of a sweet little boy named Korain who was conceived during that "devastating heartbreak" and Kitae sleeping around after. Korain's mother is not in the picture, and Kitae does his best to not only take care of himself but also make sure his son is getting the best of the best. He's a loyal sweetheart, still quiet, though there's an element to him that seems very much like an old soul. While quiet and endearing, he's a person who is a pillar to those who need it.
