I went into disco elysium basically blind so the conclusion I came to right away is that Harry had killed the victim (he had amnesia and did so many other bad things, why not that too?) and I was going OHHH OH NOOO OH FUCKKKKK

so when I came clean and told Kim I was like Kim ...... I thinmk I did a bad thing ..... and he just goes. no actually I dont think you did that. youre fine. and it immediately cured me. like okay! 💖 yay! 💖

the game's commentary is so profound

I feel like folks who are disappointed that trying to escalate physical confrontations in Disco Elysium often results in Harry getting clowned regardless of how many points you put into physical skills are not fully grasping the "you are a middle-aged alcoholic with a heart condition who is currently experiencing the withdrawal symptoms of every drug" dimension of the game's premise.

before I played Disco Elysium, I thought Harry du Bois was a co-worker in the precinct you work at and, reading about him being such a fucked up guy, I was literally planning on avoiding him as much as possible in my playthrough... colour me surprised when I found the badge and found out the main character's name

Finished my first disco playthrough yesterday!! I’m so damn normal about this game i’m gonna explode

imagine being kim and u show up at this case in a really neglected shitty district (bc you don't want anyone else to do it) and u meet a partner who's one of the nicest people you've worked with in a while but also kind of a mess so you spend a few days developing a sudden yet very strong alliance/friendship with him and then he gets SHOT and u have to relive your worst experience of watching ur old partner die in front of you and you're left alone desperately tending to his wounds with your only thoughts and a concussion for company for like 2 days but then right after he gets up you solve the case at the last possible place you expected and you also discover a giant bug. and then he invites you to work with him.
