Background:

Mariah-Janet has dedicated her life to the anarchist movement, and taking down Fisk's administration - no matter what it costs. Not that she had much left to spend. Born to Captain Walter Water's, a white police officer, and Barbra, her Nigerian mother, Mariah's mother left her life early - at the age of 4, not bothering to take Mariah with her. Instead she was raised by her father, an abusive cop mad at the world- and out to make it his daughter's problem. Raised in a tiny flat in low-income Tower Hamlets, he spent the majority of her childhood trying to iron the blackness out her hair and beat the queerness out of her soul. Though none of it ever worked much. She says change ain't in her nature. As Fisk's administration grew, so did her father's ruthlessness, and his newly earned V.E.N.O.M symbiote was only fuel to his fire. And at 15, Mariah become 'Red' - An anonymous Anti-Police whistleblower. Publishing dozens of exposes, reports, and zines against the administration - 'Red' rose to infamy through his illegally broadcasted rogue-radio show and his uncensored and ruthless protesting tactics. However, at 16 Mariah came across a story that would change her career - discovering the murder and cover-up of her own mother. Enraged but determined, Mariah leaked the report, at the same time her father uncovered her identity. Consumed by rage and powered by the V.E.N.O.M symbiote, when her father attacked her, Mariah earned her blue laces. And started wearing her mask, living life as the wanted 'Red'. Today Mariah lives in hiding, couch-surfing at the places of other organizers, or squatting in vacant flats.

Personality:

Don't let the bandana and dead stare fool you - Mariah is far from quiet and cold. Being autistic and hyperverbal, Mariah talks A LOT - whether she's actually saying something or not. She's not very expressive or emotive, and her humor is pretty dry and bland (think Dwight from the Office), even though she hates mean-spirited jokes. On the lighter side of things, Mariah is pretty brash and open. She's a writer, not a leader, and she's more interested in going with the flow than being in charge, though she often finds herself there. She fairly laid back - and incredibly confident. Almost outright cocky, even moreso than Hobie. She sits legs spread and burps loud and rolls her eyes and sucks her teeth. She enjoys cursing in front people who think it's 'rude', and she has an accent thicker than Hobie's. But unlike Hobie - she's not a 'typical, actual' punk (yeah right). She doesn't listen to punk music. In fact, she doesn't listen to much music at all. She has no real interest in the clothes, or the music, or the crowded live shows. And when she met Hobie, she had no real interest in the pretty boy who brings a guitar to a protest. Mariah is a punk, because that's how she lives her life. And she'll genuinely laugh in your face if you tell her she isn't, just because she thinks the Sex Pistols are shite. And she's incredibly loyal. To say Mariah doesn't trust anyone (from her universe at least) is an understatement. She can't afford it - what with 4 assassination attempts and counting - but if there's anyone on Earth she trusts, it's Hobie. But her and Hobie don't always see eye-to-eye. On the darker side of things, Mariah lacks the 'radical kindness' that Hobie does. Even though her and Hobie are both hard-core anarchists, 'Red's definition of 'justice' is often far more extreme. Mariah hates cops. All of them, and she genuinely wants them dead - in the most painful way she can muster. Knowing there are more men like her father out there, still sleeping soundly at night, and that there are men out there protecting them, Mariah says the movement isn't over until all of them are either punished, dead, or both. Mariah wants merciless punishment, and she isn't afraid to say it. For cops, politicians, fascists, nazis, racists, and any other bigot still breathing. She's an amazing planner, and a phenomenal speaker, but her protesting tactics often teeter into dangerous and malicious territory. Including arson, and if given the chance, execution. When Spider-Punk saved Mariah's life from a cop torturing her - the third attempt on her life - Mariah insisted he kill the already downed officer. Because it'd be 'One less to worry about.' Hobie didn't. And both began looking at each other a little bit different from that point forward. When they're alone and Mariah talks about how good it would be to live in a world without cops, Hobie can't help but agree. He's just afraid of what Mariah is willing to do to get there. And the more she tries, and the more she speaks, the more dangerous it gets for her.

Hobie & Mariah

Meeting:

Hobie knew his MJ Canon Event was coming - he just didn't know he already knew her. Hobie had met Mariah as 'Red', at an 'unpermitted political protest/performance art piece' - Hobie's words, not theirs. A Molotov cocktail in hand, and a balaclava across his face. To Hobie, to meet the person behind the words was surreal, and only for a few brief moments. Red met Spider-Punk months later. Coincidentally, while staring down the barrel of a gun. Faced with his second assassination attempt, Red comes face to face with the other masked anarchist, and is instantly filled with respect for him. Red's a fan, and Spider-Punk's a fan of his as well. And soon, the two are working together on the regular. Staging protests, running an illegal anarchist-rock-radio-show, and exposing insider information. It isn't until Red's third - and fourth - assassination attempt, that Hobie realized Red was now living in a bullet proof vest. After the fourth attempt, Hobie demasked himself, bringing an injured Red to the boathouse. He somehow convinced Red to stay while he healed. It was only then that Red revealed her identity to Hobie, and switched from ski masks to bandanas, and from Red to Mariah.

Relationship:

They aren't dating. If you even insinuate anything of the sort, Mariah is very likely to either tell you to 'piss off', or she'll (lovingly and playfully) insult him. 'I love charity work, darling. But not that much.' Romance isn't in the cards for them - Mariah's aro anyway. But that's not why this canon event exists. In every universe where MJ and Spidey are together, they are a rock for each other, mentally and emotionally. They're there to keep each other standing. Hobie didn't believe in canon events, and he still doesn't. But it took him a while to understand why Mariah was his canon event. Not to love her, but to protect her. Hobie believes in Mariah's message. And he believes in the power of her voice. 'Red' is loud. And Fisk knows it. She's a threat, because she's the voice of the people. Hobie may not agree with all of her methods. And that's fine. He can live with that. Because he believes in her message - and more importantly, he believes in her power. Hobie and Mariah were never meant to be partners in romance. And they'll forever be partners in crime. Outside of that - Hobie and Mariah's relationship is purely sexual and platonic. They're more than best friends. To them, they're two people who puts their lives in each other's hands every day, and respect each other beyond anything in this world.

Mariah is pretty romance averse. Her and Hobie never kiss outside of sex, and she's not touchy unless she's flirting. (Which she does, A LOT, just not to Hobie. She always tells him she can pick up more chicks than him - which, true.)

If Hobie tried to kiss her on the lips out of nowhere, she would look at him like he was absolutely insane. (She'd be like 'bruv - fuck are you in my face for')

She's not interested in romance at all, either thinking it's bizarre or distracting - and she's not afraid to say it

Though she has no interest in Hobie romantically (and doesn't see the appeal), she's still happy that he has Diane in his life. And she's VERY happy to leave that gushy shit to her.

Unlike Diane & Hobie, Hobie & Mariah are pretty open about the fact that they're fucking and nothing more. They're casual about it, but when Mariah is making Hobie sit on her lap at an afterparty - it sends a message.

She also likes to grab his ass at any opportunity, especially in front of people - doing things like pulling on his suspenders (then letting them go so they snap at his back lol)

She's also involved with Diane - originally independent of Hobie, after Mariah and Hobie got together - getting together shortly after Diane came out as bi

She knows Diane is not from their Earth - Hobie told her this before she ever met Diane. They first met when Mariah went alone to go introduce herself to Diane in her universe (with Hobie's blessing)

She went unmasked, and so Diane saw her face when they first met

Most of her clothes are thrifted jerseys of teams she doesn't back, and jeans 3 sizes up. When protesting, he'll wear all red.

Mariah prefers he/him pronouns when out as 'Red'. When out with unfamiliar people, organizers, or active protests - He's most often in balaclavas and ski-masks

Mariah doesn't wear boots - only trainers, but she still ties blue laces around the shins of her baggy pants every morning, because she feels like she's earned them

Wears her bandana almost constantly, and will wear it even when alone with Hobie - though she takes it off by herself. She has dozens, so it's always easy to grab one.

Very rarely will she take it off to eat or drink. She'll try to eat around it or drink around a straw, which is usually successful. If it isn't, she'll leave the room

She doesn't want people to memorize her face. And it's not that she doesn't trust anyone - which, she doesn't - it's that enough torture could break anyone. And she's not taking the risk.

If she takes off her bandana in front of you (unlikely) and you scan her face, she immediately doesn't trust you. (Why you looking so hard)

She wears her bandana so often around Hobie, that he finds it very easy to tell her emotions, even though Mariah does not emote much in general - besides, Mariah talks A LOT

It took her multiple months before Hobie saw her face, and she only showed him after living on the houseboat for some weeks, after they'd slept together

Raised being called 'MJ' by her father, Mariah highly dislikes it. She'll tell you not to call her it once, and every time after, she'll be a little more pissed

Around Hobie and people he trusts, Red prefers to go by Mariah or M - and uses any pronouns. If you ask Mariah their gender, you'll get an amused smile and bored shrug. What are you, a cop?

Asks people 'What are you, a cop?' or 'You a narc??' quite often. Half the time she's joking. Will also say "Okay, Officer." If you're being pushy and annoying, and laughs if that irritates you (Hobie)

Her laugh is very sharp, and it almost sounds mocking. Even if she isn't

Lots of times people don't trust her, what with the mask. These are the people she likes to take the piss out of most

Mariah experiences a lot of chronic pain, mostly derived from her father, and her 3 & 4th assassination attempts - making protests extremely taxing on her

Though she will hide this at all costs, in front of everyone except Hobie. During times of stress or increased pain, she'll take painkillers in sporadic doses. But being wanted by the state, she can only get her hands on so much.

She doesn't do much but protest and write. She doesn't like music like that, and she doesn't see the appeal. She doesn't draw anymore, though she used to

After years of living in survival mode, she works, plans, chain-smokes, and tries not to get killed while doing it

She doesn't understand Diane's groupie behavior, or Hobie's 'punk' rockstar cover. She thinks it's pointless, and on occasion she'll say this, not realizing how callous that may sound

To her, Hobie is a dork. And she calls him a dork all the time. How someone could see him as cool or rather - 'groovy' - is beyond her.

Has little to no filter - unless it comes to secrets and observations. Either she tells you exactly what she's thinking, or you get nothing at all.

Often has to be told when it's too much, and on occasion, during political planning, she has told Hobie he talks 'too nice'.

Though she does envy Diane, and her ability to just dance. Mariah has no form of escapism - her writing will always be a harsh reflection of reality. And she admires Diane's ability to live in spite of that, without the anger her and Hobie often go through.

The only escape Mariah has is reading, and puzzles. Mainly rubix cubes and things like that.

She loves fiction and fantasy. But her love of books doesn't stop there, and Red's radio show isn't all screaming.

Mariah is extremely versed in political and anarchist literature, being able to memorizes passages from manifestos and books easily, as well as speeches or direct pieces of confidential files she reads

Mainly leads riots - using anti-tear gas safety, road-blocking, and anarchist warfare like molotov cocktails & destruction of surveillance

Whereas a lot of Hobie's protests preach Love & Kindness among the community, Red's radio show and organized riots are backed by rage - telling the people to end the oppression by direct action, at any cost

Red wants revenge and a future, and if that means burning it all down and rebuilding from ashes and graves, then that's what he'll do. Happily.

She has killed in front of Hobie before, and he was not very happy about it (to say the least)

Sleeps in Hobie's bed a lot of nights - mainly because of the nightmares. She doesn't like doing this, and wish it didn't happen, but it is what it is. What helps helps, and she trusts Hobie more than anyone

Unlike how he is with Diane, Hobie is extremely protective of Mariah and worries about Red constantly - to the point that he's hypervigilant

Still has the badge she took off her father at 16. Her most prized possession

ART STYLE: [We're almost done I PROMISE]

Less animated and expressive than Hobie - Mariah does not change colors the way he does. Most of the time she is black, white, grey, or the color of aging parchment, detailed with handwriting and lined paper.

Mariah can only turn Red, when enraged or at protest, and Blue, for injured, scared, or upset. As she gets angrier, the handwriting across her becomes more and more erratic and illegible.

INSPO:

Mariah is about being authentic without performance.

She's a punk, even though she 'doesn't look it'. She gets told that a lot. She's black, even though she 'doesn't look it'. Disabled, though she 'doesn't look it'. She's bi, but she 'doesn't look it' either.

Mariah isn't quiet, and she never hides the truth. But because people can't see her face, they act like they can never get a read on her - even though she's brutally honest.

I wanted her to defy the idea of what a punk is. She's not the girl who goes to Hobie's shows and kisses him backstage. That's Diane.

Mariah is the one that follows him into battle and debates him for hours. Even if she doesn't like his music. She still believes in anarchy, and fighting, and freedom.

She's still punk, and despite the anti-blackness of her father, she's still black.

Mariah is the opposite of Diane, although that wasn't really on purpose.

A lot of the time in the comics, MJ and Peter's relationship is about them being on the same side, and facing the world together - MJ always a encouraging force for Peter. And I wanted to boil that down as much as I could. So often that encouraging force is through romance and romantic affection - but unlike MJ and Peter, Hobie and Mariah have everything but that aspect. Both their attraction to each other and their mutal emotional support of each other are divorced from romance - instead being based in respect and care. Hobie wants to protect Mariah, and Mariah wants Hobie to fight at her side. Mariah is the reflection of Diane. She represents his political side, while Diane represents more of his musical side. She represents his enraged determination, while Diane is his radical kindness. Diane and Hobie aren't open about being 'together', but the romance between them is clear. Meanwhile Hobie and Mariah are open about sleeping with each other - and the lack of romance is just as clear. And my favorite part is their reflection of morals. To Diane suffering for the system, and for the Society, is a worthy cause. A necessary sacrifice. Diane is community oriented above all else, something she gained by her communist upbringing. Meanwhile, Mariah couldn't disagree more. No community liberated her. Instead, she liberated herself - not by sitting outside a courthouse - but by direct action - and killing her father when she got the chance. If life was a garden, Diane tries to plant flowers. Mariah is more interested in pulling up weeds. Maybe Diane is naive. Or maybe Mariah is cynical. Or maybe they both know exactly what they're doing. Either way Hobie cares for both of them beyond words. And in return, they love giving him headaches.

Her and Hobie are basically bros that fuck sometimes and their 'kisses' are actually just passionate looks of rage when they lock eyes during a riot lol

The Bad Guys!

I recently watched "The Bad Guys" and did some drawing but they are mostly before because when I saw the trailer drop I was so excited for it to come out but I didn't start drawing them yet until I watched the feature videos and the 6minutes of it on YouTube as well as DreamWorks TikTok videos of them so yeah!

Also please note that I do not draw anthro morphic animals/furry's? a lot and I'm still working on it.

I did doodles of them for the first time, trying to get there structures and features right

I also made an OC, her name is Roxanne Jones Retriever and she is Black Scottish (she is a chocolate Golden retriever and is sometimes mistaken for a Labrador Retriever, reasons for why I made her Scottish is because Golden Retrievers origin are from the Scottish Highlands and I thought it would fit her 😊)

She and snake have some bad history together, tension between them are thicker than icing on a cake. Even though it doesn't look like it on the drawings I was still figuring out her character and personality, I have some of it down, like with Snake and Her having this from Friends, to Enemies, to Friends, then Lovers.

I low-key think that they always have these old couple arguments that have sass, some petty insults with a dash of flirting/teasing from both sides lol

Yes I ship Roxanne with Snake. She's 3 years younger than him. Fight me.

She works along side with Governor Diane Foxington after she retired from the Navy, after the deal with Professor Marmalade and Wolf, she volunteered to be the Bad Guys parole officer to keep a close eye on them incase they step out of line. (Even though Chief Luggins wanted to Roxanne wanted to help her relax more)

Tyrese is the Blue Heeler (this is him in development phase as I thought he should be a Retriever to but thought I should change it and shake it up a bit), as I don't have a fully figured out name for the other one as a default I'll use Abed, who is my favorite character from Community and always shall be, he is Pakistani American! They are both the adopted sons of Roxanne and she loves them to death, and will hurt/kill anyone who harms her babies.

I see a good dynamic between them and the crew

Snake, I have feeling that he'd also be like Tarantula but knows when to get serious. Father-sons relationship.

I am still figuring out designs for Roxanne and Tyrese and still working on how to draw the Bad Guy and Diane better same goes for Officer Luggins and the News lady (I forgot her name sorry)

Summary: The stigma and shame of being a submissive has kept Mary unfulfilled and in the closet her whole life, until an inciting incident leads to Bucky and Steve taking her in and giving her everything she was always too afraid to ask for.

Now that the 1st is over for anybody unlucky enough to stumble across this: it's an April Fool's chapter- not real.

11. Cheesecake

Two days later, Steve decides to take a late afternoon nap. He wakes from a very deep sleep to the sunlight gone from beyond the widows, and before he can even groan over however the hell long he’s slept, the sound of Bucky and Mary arguing—loudly—reaches his ears.

“Well I don’t care what she said! This is insane! You’re not going!”

“You can’t stop me!”

“You bet your ass I can!”

Steve groans and turns over in the bed. He’s so sick and tired of this. Having Mary stay at their place was a good idea, in theory, but it hasn’t worked out at all the way either he or Bucky were hoping. All it’s done is make all three of them miserable, and put a strain on his and Bucky’s marriage. Getting up, he decides to put his foot down. They can’t keep doing this.

Steve goes out to the living room, where Mary is dressed in a shocking amount of nothing, and what she is wearing all seems to be red latex. “Mare?” he says groggily.

Bucky whirls around. “Did you know about this?”

“I told you he doesn’t.”

“Know about what?” Steve asks grumpily.

“Well it wouldn’t be the first secret you’ve kept for her behind my back.”

Steve lowers the hand that’s been rubbing his eyes. Uh oh. Bucky is half naked, he notices, with his joggers and sneakers on and nothing else. Steve figures he must’ve been heading for the shower, as the arm is off, too.

Over by the door, Mary is shrugging on her coat. “I’ll see you guys later. Have a nice life."

“Hey! Don’t you open that door.”

When she opens it, Steve is surprised to see none other than Thor standing in the hallway.

“Is that … the Pro?” he asks, confusedly. Behind Thor’s mass are two other people, a girl and a man, also decked out in bold and scant sub wear. Oh, Steve thinks. That’s the girl who Mary made friends with at the CDP the other week. What was her name again? Daryl, Deena, Diane ...

“Darcy!” Bucky growls, pointing at her. “What the fuck did you talk her into?!”

“She doesn’t need you,” Darcy says bravely (or as bravely as she can from behind Thor’s massive body). “She’s gonna come live with us and be our sister-wife.”

“Your what?!”

“Don’t worry, fellows!” Thor booms with a smile. “My harem is a lovely place to live. I promise I’ll take excellent care of her!” He ignores Bucky’s furious expression and shoots Steve a thumbs up gesture. “Perhaps we’ll see you at the social!”

“Mary,” Bucky warns, but Mary’s already grabbed her purse and gone out the door. She waggles her fingers at them and says she'll send 'someone neutral' by for her stuff. “Don't worry about me,” she says. "I finally figured out what I really need."

The door shuts behind her, and Bucky and Steve just stand there for a while, processing what just happened.

“... what just happened?” Steve asks.

Bucky goes and throws himself onto the couch, looking totally stunned. “Mary decided that she’s going to get her custody transferred to Thor so she can live with Darcy and her boyfriend whatshisface at their house."

Steve’s heartrate picks up. “But … the custody order,” he says.

“Yeah.” Bucky glares across the room at Steve. “Apparently she went to Linda and told her we refused sex, so Linda signed off on it. A judge gave her a new ruling yesterday.”

“What?!”

“Yeah. That’s where she was all day, not at work.”

Steve gasps, in disbelief. “Well … there’s gotta be something we can do?!” He flings his arm at the door where Mary just left. “Where the hell was he taking her, anyway?”

“A social.” Bucky’s expression loses some of its bite, and he shakes his head. “Maybe this is for the best,” he mumbles. “She wasn’t getting what she needs here. We can’t force her to want us. And she obviously doesn’t.” He shakes his head, sighing. “It would’ve ended like this, anyway. So maybe she just saved us a lot of awkward conversations.”

Steve huffs, frustrated by that. “How could she not want us?” he complains, gesturing down his own body where he stands and then Bucky’s. “We’re way out of her league! She should’ve been jumping for joy that we wanted to be with—”

“Yeah well obviously there were mitigating factors,” Bucky snaps, looking bitterly down at the left side of his body where the arm isn’t. “So she finally went and did something right for herself. Good on her.”

Steve can’t believe what he’s hearing. He puts his hands on his hips, pissed at Bucky’s defeatist attitude. “So you’re not even gonna go after her?”

Bucky shakes his head. “What’s the point? We didn’t have a future with her. At least this way she’ll get what she needs … with someone she wants it from.”

Steve scoffs, angry, but then he deflates some. “Well fuck.”

Bucky nods. “Fuck indeed.”

Steve’s shoulders slump, and his focus shifts to making sure that Bucky’s okay. “Hey,” he nudges gently, going over to the couch. “What do you need, babe?”

Bucky gives him a sad but fond smile and holds his arm out along the back of the couch in indication. “Just you, Sweetheart. C’mere.”

Steve sinks down to snuggle up beside him, and the two of them talk quietly for a while about what the hell they’re going to do now. Now that the heat of the moment's worn off, they both can concede that there's no better person to take care of Mary than Thor. And this way, she'll have a best friend in Darcy as well. Not all relationships are meant to last, but that doesn't make them not meaningful.

And as for the two of them? Well ...

“You know you’re all I need,” Bucky says quietly to him later, once they’re in bed, in the dark, hands clasped between them and cum drying on their bellies. “Always were.”

Steve rolls over and gives him a tender kiss. “Me too, Buck. Me too.”

They don’t discover the farewell cheesecake in the fridge until the next morning, when both of them have already made love again and showered and resolved to look on the bright side about how they at least accomplished one thing: and that’s that they definitely saved Mary’s life and helped her go from a very bad place, to where she needs to be.

“Oh man,” Steve groans when he opens the fridge and sees them sitting there. “I’m gonna miss this, though.” He pulls out the two plates of cheesecake to show Bucky. “She really got to know our tastes, huh?” One of the slices is blueberry, the other is Dulce. Bucky smiles fondly and nods. “Yeah,” he says quietly. “Yeah she did.”

They sit together and eat their respective slices at the breakfast bar, feeling much better about the outcome of things than they did yesterday. “I’m happy for her,” Bucky finally decides, because he is. “And we’ll always be able to keep in touch. So that’s good.”

“Yeah,” Steve agrees. “It’s good.” They share a warm smile of affection and briefly clasp hands. Steve raises his eyebrows at Bucky’s metal arm. “Do you really need that if we're just goin' to the farmer’s market?”

Bucky chuckles and shakes his head. “Naw. You're right.” He comes around the breakfast bar and offers his left side to Steve with a loving smile. “Why don’t you help me take it off?”

Steve does, and he knows that they’re going to be alright.

Epilogue:

Mary forms a relationship with Thor and falls in love with him. Darcy and Ian are just her friends, and they all wind up living together in one house, in a polyamorous relationship.

Mary texts Steve and Bucky starting a few days after her departure, apologizing for how she left, but that she knows it was for the best. All three of them maintain contact through texting and the occasional event at the CDP, and they all forgive each other and form an incredible friendship (so much so that sometimes even Thor gets jealous!)

Bucky and Steve entertain the idea of dating around for a potential third, but they eventually decide that they’re it for each other, and Bucky just uses the Pro subs at the CDP from time to time.

All in all, they’re happy, and it’s very gratifying to know that they helped Mary get her life turned around. She even winds up opening her own little micro bakery not too far from their place, so Steve and Bucky can continue enjoying the delicious desserts she makes.

Mary, Darcy, and Thor have an informal poly wedding ceremony (which Bucky and Steve happily attend), opting against a traditional marriage that would only recognize one of them, and within two years, both Mary and Darcy are expecting!

Bucky and Steve enthusiastically agree to be the baby’s godparents. The experience convinces them to pursue adoption themselves.

And after the Christening, everyone gathers at the CDP for a wonderful celebration … with loads of cheesecake.

Please don't hate me for this ending! I really think it's in the characters best interests and a more realistic ending for all three of them.

... And it's April 1st though, so ...

This wasn't a real chapter. And it's basically the only harmless prank I can play on anyone today, so. There you have it. Happy April Fool's day! (and 🤞🏻please don't unsubscribe in anger 😅)

The intro plays, and Ivy appears on the screen smiling and leaning into the mic to speak. “Hello guys, welcome to my new podcast, 'The Ivy Incident!!’ This has been in the works ever since I stepped into the dive podcast studio when I came here to film the kpop daebak show with Eric so it's soo exciting to finally show you guys this project!” she laughs as the other staff there are heard clapping.

Laughing, she continues "so in this podcast, I invite my friends from the industry and we just you know, talk and share stories! It's a lot similar to Eric's but mine is more personal if you will because all these people are very very close to me and I've known them for a pretty long time! This episode is just gonna be me cuz this is like an introduction for all the first-time listeners who don't know who I am!" “So I heard Diane has some questions prepared for me, so let's get into it!”

“let's start with the basics, yeah? Who is Ivy Jennifer James?” Diane asks her.

“Oh we’re going back to the beginning okay! So as you’ve already mentioned, my name is ivy jennifer james. I was born in New Castle, Australia where I lived till I was five and then I moved to the US where again I lived for five years before moving to Korea when I was eleven. And in korea, i signed with bighit entertainment and when i was asked if i was ready to debut when i was 14 i think? I was like imma do it. So i debuted at 14 under both jype and bighit and the rest is history! And i'm here today hehe”

“What motivated you to pursue a career as a solo artist?”

“Hmm i think ever since i got into bighit, i've always wanted to be a soloist? I'm not really sure why but I always saw myself as a soloist for some reason. Even till now, if you ask my dad he’d say that i was born to do this” ivy laughs and continues “i think ever since i was little ive wanted to something in the field of music and performance”

“Was being a kpop idol your first choice?”

“It was actually! I mean keeping in mind that i started this since i was a literal child, it actually was my first choice. The kids at school did tease me for this but look at me now” ivy chuckles

“Who are your music inspirations?”

“That's a great question and I was literally talking to Jun about this this morning! I dont have one specific inspiration but i think i draw inspiration from any and all artists! I've been pretty inspired by the Beatles and Rolling Stone pretty recently and obviously, Taylor Swift is one of my biggest inspirations out there.”

“Are you a sweet or savory type of person?”

“It honestly depends on my mood if i'm being honest” she laughs hard “now, im craving something savory! I'd kill for some fries right now oh man you’ve perked up my cravings now diane!!”

“What's the last song you listened to?”

Ivy laughs hard and almost tears up laughing “this is actually so funny oh my god the last song i listened to is actually a helium ingested cover of let me love you by justin bieber which yeonjun sung for me yesterday after a party we went to and let me tell you, it was soo funny!!”

“According to you, tell me 3 flaws and 3 qualities about yourself”

“Ooh, three qualities of mine would be, one, I think I'm kind I guess? Second, I'm somewhat responsible, and third and finally, I think I'm a human sized golden retriever because I'm very bubbly and very smiley smiley most of the time! And three flaws of mine are, one, i’m a big overthinker, i just rethink about every single choice or word of mine a little too much. Second, my moods are based on the weather…”

Ivy laughs at the look on Diane's face “yea.. My mood everyday kinda depends on how good the weather is.. That's why I'm not as fond of the rain because it makes me kind of depressed and I just shut myself off most of the time. Third, im a bit of a perfectionist so i expect any and all things to be a little too perfect.. If its not what i expect it to be, i just leave that and will not ever touch on it again and i know i should change these things and i am trying so.. yeah “

“okay, something similar but three things you like and three things you dislike”

“I don't like these types of questions!!” she laughs “it makes me think too much to give an answer!! But anyways… hmm three things i like are, one, my husband” she giggles as a small blush is seen on her cheek “well it's true!! I wouldn't have married him if I didn't like him would I?” she giggles “second, i really love what i do so, my career and third, my loved ones! I love my friends and family because they've stuck with me through thick and thin and I'm really grateful for that!” she smiles and gives the camera a little hand heart

“three things i hate are.. Hmm lets see… one, people who do not value privacy. I've said this multiple times and i'll say this again but I do love my fans.. I love them a lot and I wouldn't be here without them. But there are some people who claim that they are fans but do unhinged stuff to get close to me. And like that's why I've sued some people for not valuing my privacy. I got hate for it but honestly I don't care when the privacy and the lives of the people i love are at stake."

"Second, coming back to a slightly normal side, I absolutely hate the smell of fish. I don't know if it's cuz im vegetarian but I always throw up whenever I smell it and third, coming back to a more serious side, I hate the fact that most people on the internet feel like it's their right to comment on us as celebrities or idols or as performers. It's so irritating that they don't even feel sorry for what they say. They don't know how much we over think it and it slowly becomes an insecurity that takes years to wear off.”

“Okay this is your second to last question and the question is, For listeners who may not have heard your music before, can you recommend a few songs that best represent your sound and artistic vision?”

“That is a really good question, oh my god! So I think my discography is quite diverse and I have a lot of songs for different kinds of people who like different things. So the top three songs that i’d recommend to people are, one, vengeance as its called. There's no explanation for that song but I loved making it and loved singing it so that's the first song and second, I have a song called lovers in the night that i co wrote with seori which I absolutely loved and we had a great time writing the song. And third I think is, my whole album called “for us.” which i wrote with yeonjun and its songs dedicated for each other and hence called for us!”

“Okay… last question, can you give us any hints of the upcoming guests you have here?” Diane asks, smiling knowingly. Ivy giggles and wiggles her fingers across the camera

“Well I guess I can.. But most of my friends have not given me exact dates of their free schedule so even i’m not really sure on whos coming” she laughs at herself “so that's all i can tell you now because that's just all i know so” she just shrugs as she smiles.

“That's it for this episode and I hope you guys enjoyed this. I'm so excited for all the things we have in store for you guys and I hope you look forward to it!! So this has been ivy so far and thank you for listening to the ivy incident! Have a good day or good night bye!!”

What would be the favorite dog breeds of the seven deadly sins plus Elizabeth?

Meliodas- He really likes golden retrievers and border collies.

Diane- She really likes pomeranians! She finds them so cute, fluffy, and adorable!

Ban- Honestly? He doesn’t have much of an opinion on breeds. If he had to choose he’d probably say papillon.

King- St. Bernards. He likes how gentle and loving they are, plus they are typically easy to train.

Gowther- Another with not much preference on breeds. He likes naturally calm dogs though. Prefers to hang out with animals for a little before buying them.

Merlin- Who needs a dog when you got Arthur. Pitbulls. She finds them seriously misunderstood and has 100% trained them for people to watch over their small kids.

Escanor- Labrador Retrievers hold a special place in his heart.

Elizabeth- No preference on breeds. The type to go to animal shelters and ask for the oldest animal, the animal no one wants, or the one that’s been there the longest.

Hmm, I hadn’t thought about that lol. Whenever I think of lovers for Ed, I always think they’re the passive ones; not really insane but insane enough to be with someone like Edward, but I’ll give it a try!

As Edward tips through the halls of the extensive mansion, his breathing heavy and amplified with the obstruction of his mask, he scans the portraits and family photos that hang along the walls; a sharp-jawed, spiffy looking father, a prim, obedient mother, and a son, gangly arms wrapped around the neck of a golden retriever as a boyish grin consumes his features. Edward stops at that particular photo, tilting his head to examine it before he hears the T.V. click on in the sitting room, jolting his head towards the ambient glow that emanates from the crack of the door down the hall.

He takes confident steps, controlling the weight of himself over his toes so as to not alert any other members of the family. He pushes the door open, thankful for the well-oiled hinges as he steps closer to the man sitting in his Lay-Z Boy, sipping at a beer and watching Cheers reruns. Standing only inches away, he hovers above him, examining the pomade-slick back of his head with a keen eye.

He notices a stray cushion along the floor surrounded by action figures and littered Legos and bends to swipe the decorative pillow from next to his boot. Rising and fluffing the pillow in his hands, he basks in this moment, committing to memory the glorious feeling of knowing that in this pig's final moments present on this earth, it was he that stood so far above him.

He grips the pillow tighter before lunging forward and wrapping his arms around the man’s neck to shove the cushion over his face. He doesn’t react immediately, it takes a second or two before he realizes the unfortunate position he's in but when he does he’s thrashing and kicking his legs, flailing his arms to try and blindly scratch at his assailant or rip the pillow away. Edward doesn't mind the struggle— it’s part of the hunt— only pressing harder to encourage surrender.

The dog, presumably, is away with the boy for a visit to Grandma's house because the house is eerily silent, no yapping animals or wailing children, only the sound of subdued grunts and the dull, buzzing banter shared between Sam and Diane fills the air.

Edward leans his head back, calm as ever, studying the chandelier overhead to avoid the wandering swipes of the man beneath him. After another minute, he can feel the life drain from his target’s body, movements slower and weaker before he falls limp against his lounge chair. Edward holds the pillow there for a moment longer, ensuring that the hunt was successful.

With no sign of life left, he tosses his weapon to the floor and starts stepping around the chair to meet his kill but his feet stop dead in their tracks as he hears a thick crunch followed by something metal clattering to the ground, a thud bringing the parade of noise to a close.

He fwips his head around and is surprised to find you, chest heaving with your labored breathing as you hold a hammer over your head, still in a swinging position. He follows to where your horrified eyes are glued and finds the source of the clatter and the thud; sprawled across the floor lay the mother, dressed in a blush pink slip and a simple chain that dangles a small diamond over her clavicle. Her flaming red hair gets lost in a blur of crimson as the crown of blood that dribbles from the cavity in her head grows in diameter. Beside her lay an aluminum baseball bat, the handle barely grazing the edges of her fingers.

His eyes flit back to you as the sound of your hammer clunking the floor finds his ears. You clap your hands over your mouth and jolt away from the body as you emit a horrified sob, brows creasing and eyes going glassy as your actions finally register in your brain.

Edward's shock dissolves away, morphing into annoyance and disapproval as he approaches you, unphased as he steps over the cooling body and grabs you by the arms with a harsh grip, shaking you a bit to emphasize his words.

"What are you doing here?" He grits out, squeezing you just a little bit tighter as he invades your space and demands an answer. "I told you to wait in the apartment until I got back!"

His words are scathing and for the first time, as you flinch with every harsh syllable he inflicts, you're scared of him.

"Sh-She was gonna hurt you," you stutter out, still slightly dazed as your eyes focus back down to the mother.

And it was then that he softened a little, shoulders untensing and annoyance giving way. Sure, it was entirely stupid of you to follow him out to a kill; you could have tripped the alarm or stepped over the wrong floorboard, alerted the whole neighborhood is what he would have preidcted... but you didn't. In fact, he didn't know you were only ever a few steps trailing behind him the entire time. Following your gaze to the body, he realizes your sacrifice. His precious baby, never even hurt a fly, succumbing to his sick practice.

He reduces his hold on your arms, trailing them lower before engulfing you in a hug. You’re taken aback and your hands hover stupidly around him before you're returning the touch with the same fervor like always, nuzzling your head so deep into his neck until your nose dips under the layers of jacket, hoodie, and mask until it’s rubbing into bare skin, inhaling deep to bypass the sterile scent of the gloves and mask and reach his scent.

“My good little girl only wanted to protect me?” He asks with a sweetened voice.

“Mmhm,” you mewl into him, gripping the canvas of his jacket thicker.

He pulls away and you're reluctant to do the same, only giving way when you have to. He lifts his hand and pets your head, over your forehead and down to the nape of your neck before cupping your cheek and watching as your eyes flutter open.

“You’re naughty for not listening to my instructions, pet.”

You falter at that, looking towards the floor and biting your lip,

“But I'm inclined to forgive you.” He insights, his voice lilting.

Your eyes dart up to catch his gaze and scan for any mal intent. There’s no joke.

“You wanna follow daddy to work, you’re gonna have to join the business.” His fingers trail from your cheek down to your chin, gripping it as he tilts his head forward and raises his eyes like a father instructing a child.

You don’t entirely care what he's saying or what he's insinuating, only nodding your head along, completely captivated by his presence. He smiles under the mask, you can see it with the crease of his eyes before he’s bringing you in closer, holding you tight to him as blood crawls under the soles of the booth of your shoes.

PART 15

Pairings: Elvis Presley x reader

May 1st, 1967

It was national headlines and you had the unfortunate task of writing the article. That was the thing about your return and people's knowledge. They knew you had been close to the King himself and so you started receiving the articles, having to write about every momentous occasion in his life without you. It was only a small twinge of pain, but painful nonetheless, but you had your own momentous occasion to think of. "Darling, are you almost finished with writing that piece?" His voice came up behind you. Sam Brown wrapped his arms around your waist and kissed your cheek softly. You giggled at the public display of affection, something you had never been embarrassed with Elvis, but with Sam your relationship dynamic was different. He had seen your ups and downs with Elvis and yet stuck by your side. He was a true friend and there were times when you thought that's all it could be even when he popped the question. Your feelings weren't strong, but he was kind and you had forced yourself to move on with your life. "Yeah, I still don't like how it sounds, but it's ready." You say and shove the article in your completed pile. "We're doing dinner tonight with Diane and Sylvia still?" Sam asked. His warm voice tickling your ear as he kept whispering and holding you. "Yes, yes, honey not here..." You say and turn around pushing him away. "Sorry, I'm excited to tell them about our big news." He smiled from ear to ear. You couldn't help but smile with him. He was like a golden retriever, there pleasing you at every corner and he absolutely adored you, which felt good, but at nights there were times when you'd dream of your previous life. It makes you feel guilty of even thinking back to then while Sam is with you or making love with you, but you couldn't help it. Today though, of all days you didn't want to think of him or them, or any aspect of what they were doing today. You wanted to just go out with Sam and your best friends and drown out the lingering thoughts and feelings that would pop up whenever you wrote an article about him.

You end up at one of your favorite bars, surrounded by the people you loved. Sylvia and Diane hadn't changed much except for being a little older and wiser and Sylvia was finally settled down and popping out kids left and right with her new husband. Diane was a workaholic, which always suited her, working as an assistant in an attorney's office. "Cheers to the future Browns!" Diane says and raises her martini. You raise your glass of Jack Daniels. You had switched and were more prone to drinking whiskey now, whether that was an Elvis trait you kept, you liked how it stung whenever you drank it. Sylvia lifted her water and giggled, holding her growing belly. "Who the hell would have thought I wouldn't be drinkin' at my best friend's engagement party!" She rubbed it affectionately and you all cheered. "Oh, and I guess cheers to Elvis and Priscilla, huh!" Diane said, met my eyes and then covered her mouth. You shoot the rest of your jack, hoping it would numb the twinge you just felt at the mention of their names. "I'm so sorry y/n." She apologized quickly. "No, it's fine." You say, attempting to dismiss your feelings. Sam rubs his hand on your back and you move away slightly at his touch. "No, really, he still sends telegrams to us." Sam perked up. You nod slightly. You hate that he tries to communicate to you, but luckily he seemed to stop especially as the wedding day had approached. "It's fine, really. Besides, I have my own wedding to start planning." You say and smile lifting your ring finger, showing it off. The girls coo and oh-ah at it and you continue the rest of the night, throwing back drinks until you forget about him. "I l-l-loveee you....b-b-bay." You slurred as Sam led you into your apartment. "I know, here, lay down." He quickly makes you a place on the couch and brings a bucket in case of any mishaps. "I d-don't even think of that bastard. W-what's his face? H-his name..." Sam furrows his eyebrows with concern at the state you're in. He was used to it. When Elvis announced his engagement, you got drunk enough to skinny dip with Sam. He announced the day of the wedding? You got buzzed and said yes to Sam. His wedding day, you tell your friends. It was a toxic cycle. "H-he's an asssssshole. Fuck Elvis!" You slurred and then got in a fit of giggling. "I h-have fucked him. I f-f-fucked Elvis. Oh god..." You could feel the gurgle in the pit of your stomach. It rose in your throat and you knew as soon as the wave of nausea what was coming and thankfully, so did Sam. He took your hair back as you emptied the contents of your stomach into the wastebasket, instantly regretting your drinking, but you knew there would probably be more regret in the morning once Sam reminds you what you had said.

The phone rang loudly. He looked over at your still body as you slept practically dead to the world. Sam stood from the loveseat, stretching at the uncomfortable sleeping arrangement and answered the phone. "Y/n's residence." He answered. "Sam?" He had immediately recognized the voice. How could he not have? It was very distinct, deep with a slight twang. "What do you want?" He asked, frustrated by his unexpected call. "I'm sorry man. I really just, well I...I wanted to say..." Sam grew jealous, "She's marrying me, Elvis." He said, cutting off the Elvis Presley. He felt a momentary rise of accomplishment. "Oh. Well...I wanted...I just wanted to invite yall to my show. Colonel has it all lined up around this time next year," He quickly said before Sam had the chance to hang up. "Thank you. Congratulations on your wedding by the way." Sam, shot back and hung up. His jealousy overpowered him, as he looked back at you. Asleep and oblivious to everything, much to Sam's delight. He came back over and sat on the edge of the couch, placing a hand on your back. "Morning sleepy head." He smiled and said softly, leaning down to kiss your cheek. Your eyes flutter slowly. Your dream had been interrupted right at the moment Elvis would have...well either way you were not happy with being awoken and your stomach barked with the pain you had put it threw and your head had no trouble reminding you either. "Damn." You curse and then look up to meet Sam's eyes. "S-sorry." You say with a raw voice. "Shh, it's okay. I'll make you breakfast and then we can spend the day watching I Love Lucy." He said. You smiled at the thought of a lazy day. "Bacon, extra crispy please." You requested...another Elvis favorite you picked up on naturally. "Anything for my honey." Sam said and went to the kitchen. You watch as he starts your breakfast and can't help but recall hearing a faint conversation towards the end of your dream, something about Elvis apparently, but you forget about it as soon as the steaming pile of eggs and bacon is placed in front of you and you scarf it down. Sam watched as you ate hungrily and grew prideful of his ability to keep you from harms way.

It is often said of dogs that they look like their doting owners – but the resemblance is not just limited to appearance, as the pets act like them too.

There are links between some of the UK’s most popular breeds and the dominant personality traits shown by their owners, according to a study from The Kennel Club.

Those who have border terriers are likely to be charming, lively and exuberant, while Staffordshire bull terrier fans are trustworthy and the most affectionate.

Jack Russell owners, such as King Charles and the Queen Consort, are the most loyal and faithful, with 88 per cent of them displaying these traits.

Those with cocker spaniels, like the Prince and Princess of Wales, top the list for being the most curious, creative and family-orientated.

Owners who ranked most emotionally stable, stating they were positive and happy, had Golden Retrievers, like Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner.

For the research, more than 1,500 current and past owners of 16 popular breeds were ranked against personality statements.

These revealed their levels of the Big Five personality traits: extroversion, openness, agreeableness, emotional stability and conscientiousness.

The researchers then could see which owners ranked most highly for certain personality traits when compared to those who own other breeds.

Jack Russell

Jack Russells are known for being friendly dogs, and are a popular choice among celebrities including Rick Stein, Serena Williams, and Paul McCartney.

The study results revealed that the top five most dominant personality traits that defined Jack Russell owners are:

Loyalty (88 per cent)

Helpfulness (87 per cent)

Friendliness (84 per cent)

Trustworthiness (83 per cent)

Good listener (82 per cent)

Bill Lambert, spokesperson for The Kennel Club which runs the Discover Dogs event, said: ‘It appears that we can often tell a lot about a person from the type of dog that they own, with the dominant personality traits of Jack Russell owners – owned by the likes of King Charles – being their loyalty, generous spirit for helping others and their trustworthiness.’

Cocker Spaniel

Oprah Winfrey, Charlize Theron and the Prince and Princess of Wales are all fans of Cocker Spaniels and are regularly photographed with their dogs by their sides.

According to the study, owners of this breed are:

Loyal (85 per cent)

Helpful to others (84 per cent)

Trustworthy (83 per cent)

Family-orientated (83 per cent)

Curious (81 per cent)

Border Terrier

From Andy Murray to Diane Keaton, Border Terrier is a popular breed with many celebrity dog owners.

Border Terriers are ‘essentially working terriers’, according to The Kennel Club, requiring just one hour of exercise a day and living for an average of over 12 years.

The study results suggest that this breed will be best suited to you if you’re charming, lively and exuberant.

Springer Spaniel

The Springer Spaniel is the most popular of the spaniels breeds, with celebrity fans including Tilda Swinton, Marilyn Monroe and Prince Harry.

‘The Springer Spaniels earned their name by their practice of “springing” forward to flush the game into nets. After the invention of guns, the breed was used to flush game from undergrowth,’ The Kennel Club explains.

According to the study, people who are best suited to Springer Spaniels tend to be traditional, reserved and punctual.

Pooch owners who ranked the most highly on traits relating to agreeableness and extroversion, and came out on top overall across the Big Five, had Pomeranians, like Paris Hilton (pictured left). WebMD reports that the following are the most naturally intelligent dog breeds:

Border Collie

Poodle

German Shepherd

Staffordshire Bull Terrier

First developed as a fighting dog, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is often perceived as a breed to be feared.

However, Staffies are actually very affectionate dogs, and have even been nicknamed ‘nanny dogs’ because they’re known for being so playful and patient with children.

According to the study, owners of Staffordshire Bull Terriers tend to be affectionate and trustworthy.

Miniature Schnauzer

Miniature Schnauzers are hugely popular as companion dogs, with celebrity owners including Usher, Lea Michele, and Heather Graham.

The Kennel Club’s study found that owners of Miniature Schnauzers are loyal, faithful, conscientious, organised and sticklers for rules.

Whippet

Whippets are excellent family dogs, known to be gentle and affectionate and to enjoy the comforts of domestic life.

The study found that those who enjoy new experiences, have lots of hobbies and enjoy taking risks are best suited to this breed.

Golden Retriever

The Golden Retriever is one of the most popular dog breeds in the UK and US, with celebrity owners including Jackie Chan, Conan O’Brien and Nick Jonas.

The breed is known for its friendly, tolerant attitude which makes it well-suited as a family pet, while its intelligence makes it a highly capable working dog.

According to The Kennel Club study, people who rank more emotionally stable and are positive and happy are best suited to Golden Retrievers.

Pomeranian

Weighing just 7.7lbs (3.5kg) and measuring just 11 inches tall, Pomeranians are some of the most popular small dog breeds.

‘The breed was first seen in the UK in 1870 and became a great favourite of Queen Victoria whose dogs were exhibited at dog shows in London,’ the Kennel Club explains on its website.

‘Royal patronage played no small part in popularising the breed, aided by its dainty appearance and extrovert character.’

People who are most passionate, creative and free-spirited are best suited to this breed, according to the study.

Labrador

Drew Barrymore, Anne Hathaway and Arnold Schwarzenegger are all fans of Labrador Retrievers.

‘The Labrador is the most popular of all pedigree breeds and his popularity comes from his versatility as family companion, service dog, guide dog as well as a working gundog,’ The Kennel Club said.

If you’re a friendly person, a Labrador could be the perfect choice for you, according to the study.

Dachshund

With their long bodies and little legs, it’s no surprise that Dachshunds are some of the most popular dogs in the UK.

‘Originating in Germany where he is known as the Teckel (badger dog) the Dachshund, is still used for both tracking wounded game such as deer, and for going to ground after badger or rabbits,’ The Kennel Club explains.

‘In his native country there are three sizes: standard, miniature and Kaninchen (rabbit dog) all defined by measuring the circumference of the chest.’

According to the study, the most dominant trait among daschund owners is trustworthiness.

German Shepherd

Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck and Cameron Diaz are all fans of German Shepherds.

‘The first breed club was formed in 1881 after Max von Stephanitz and his followers developed and promoted the breed as a herding dog, and later as a working dog used by the police and the armed forces,’ The Kennel Club said.

‘From the First World War the bravery and temperament of the German Shepherd has gained the breed worldwide recognition and praise and he has shown his worth in other disciplines too:- as a guide dog for the blind, as a tracking dog, and in obedience.’

The study found that German Shepherd owners are most likely to help others.

Chihuahua

Small enough to fit in a handbag, it should come as no surprise that Chihuahua is one of the most popular breeds among celebrities – most famously, Paris Hilton.

According to The Kennel Club study, chihuahua owners’ most dominant trait is trustworthiness.

Shocking images have revealed what dogs used to look like, amid warnings that breeds like pugs and French bulldogs are being cruelly overbred for fashion.

From German Shepherds to Basset Hounds, many breeds have changed dramatically following years of selective breeding.

Boxers have been bred to have shorter faces with a larger mouth, while dachshunds’ backs and necks have stretched out and their legs have shrunk to a point that makes it difficult for them to manoeuvre over obstacles a few inches off of the ground.

Meanwhile, pugs have been bred to have squashed noses and big eyes, which puts them at high risk for a range of health conditions, including breathing, eye and skin disorders, according to a new study.

‘The extreme characteristics many owners find so appealing, such as squashed faces, big eyes and curly tails, are seriously compromising pugs’ health and welfare and often result in a lifetime of suffering,’ explained Justine Shotton, British Veterinary Association (BVA) President.

‘While these extreme, unhealthy characteristics remain, we will continue to strongly recommend potential owners do not buy brachycephalic breeds such as pugs.’
