an ooc note... ☀️🦁
it is a very special character that you get to write for nine years. and love for even longer than that, because anyone who knows me in real life knows that simba is my all time favourite disney character. i hope i have done him justice.
i have written simba for the entirety of my twenties, from 21 to my 30th birthday next week. he will forever have a piece of my heart. and i wanted to say thank you to him, because he has taught me so much. i admire his passion and his joy of life, his conviction and endless optimism. i have learned from him how important friends are, how legacy is not just what is put on you but what you decide you want your life to be. the two of us have grown so much together and saying goodbye to him has been very difficult.
i want to say thank you, too, to my berlioz (and lauryl). who have also taught me so much. <3 i always joke that simber is my longest relationship--and in many ways that is true. i will miss him and im very grateful that lauryl and i have gone on this journey together. it wasn't always easy, lol, but i love and appreciate you even more as a friend now than i did back in 2015.
and finally, i want to say thank you to swynlake and this rp. again, i have spent my entire twenties here. simba's love for swynlake has always been a conduit for my own love of swynlake. he believes in it so strongly and i do too. the send off that simba has gotten from everyone has been so lovely and it makes me happy to know that he will live on in all the character's lives that he touched. please feel free to mention him often and stay at strawberry hill if your characters are ever in london.
sorry that this is incredibly sappy, but simba deserved a little love letter from me. i will miss him dearly. he is very special to me.
