"You are a half-blood" Zoë said. I remember that she had an accent, it sounded old-fashioned. "One of thy parents was mortal. The other an Olympian"

"An Olympian...athlete?" My sister asked. "No" Zoë moaned "One of the gods."

"Cool!" I screamed.

"No. This is not cool!" Bianca's voice quavered.

But I was already dancing and shaking my arms, I was so excited. I asked a bunch of questions. Like, if Zeus really had a lightning bolt that does six hundred damage. But Bianca interrupted me. Told me to shut up and that it wouldn't be my "stupid" Mysthomagic game, that there are no gods. It started a small conversation about the dangerous and scary life of a demigod. You know all the stuff,q you already know and probably have lived through it by the time you read this. They also started to explain that Bianca and I would need training, which we could only get in Camp Half-blood but Zoë interrupted again and told us that there would be another option. She didn't explain it there, but Artemis asked Bianca if she could have her for a few minutes while she let Grover play some Mysthomagic with me. If I would've known, what Artemis was going to do..I...I...I don't know what exactly I would've done. Scream? Stop her? Tell Bianca how much I need and love her?

Disney Princesses as demigods (Saw an artist on instagram draw these, and have not stopped thinking about them since)

Roller Derby justice league (I have concept drawings of this one in an old sketchbook)

Genderbent avengers (Not in a weird over-sexualized way, but in a super character accurate way where we all look super badass, and it's for the gays)

Don't cosplay, but I might try Edd from Eddsworld. He's an easy one plus Bean (my cat) can be Ringo. They're the same breeds, and cola isn't hard to get along with a green hoodie that isn't that hard, along with us both having brown hair. The problem is that I get anxious when I record myself. But it's something to work on. 👍

I'll move on from Eddsworld soon but I like it brings back memories of my childhood (God that makes me sound old, I'm only 27) but Eddsworld was made while I was in elementary school and high-school (hell, Tom quit Eddsworld when I graduated)

My brain is also thinking about doing a fantasy Edd because I saw a perfect cloak

Anyway, I might try doing cosplay this year like Percy Jackson's half-blood cosplay (probably a Poseidon and Hades maybe Zues kids (can you tell I like the big three) maybe another like Demiter because she's another favorite of mine along with a hunter of Artemis (because she's another one of my favorite goddesses) and Eddsworld cosplay and other cosplay that's similar to that. I'll try to lose weight as well... I'll try to keep this promise and add pictures to show and make stories for the Demigods. Who knows? I might make friends doing it. I'm hopeful and excited. It'll be fun 🩷

Every time someone comments “isn’t Annabeth supposed to have blonde hair” the media literacy goddess claws out of the ground under your feet unhinges her jaw and chomps you right in half

sometimes i think abt the fact that rachel and annabeth kind of symbolized percy’s fight with wanting SO badly to be mortal

like he had no mortal friends all his friends were demigods or connected to the godly side of things in some type of way when he gets rachel bro is GRASPING AT STRAWSSSS

i could see percy looking at rachel with a sort of envy she’s out doing random shit just bc she wants to she paints and draws and hangs out with him and is funny and kind and out going

he tries so hard to keep her separate from all that so he can cosplay this normality he’s been wanting for so long

but rachel (much like annabeth) wanted to badly to know about his life as a demigod that she kinda got wrapped up in it and symbolically the godly side won

like that’s so sad (;_;) all he wanted was to be normal and in the end he chose the prophecy he chose to die and he chose his godly side

they could never make me hate you rachel elizabeth dare never :(

Danny learned from the Ghost Writer that other worlds exist, even his favorite world. The Justice League!

However, Ghost Writer has always been hesitant to use his portals to explore other realms. This is due to the immense power and danger lurking on the other side.

Danny's curiosity gets the better of him, and he can't resist using Ghost Writer's portals to go into the DC universe.

Danny was here to have fun, so he decides to dress up as various DC villains, but with his young age, it has an adorable twist: he appears as a tiny child version of them.

To his surprise, Danny realizes that these costumes give him access to the powers of the villains. He seemed to mimic them, like he did in a few of his fights against his enemies attacks.

Like Ghostly wails with Dan or Cloning with Vlad.

And just seeing this would be much more fun! He started his playful journey to meet iconic heroes and villains.

The first one Danny met was the Flash family while dressed as Reverse Flash. He stumbles upon a face-off between Flash, Kid Flash, and the real Reverse Flash. With his childlike innocence, Danny manages to confuse all three speedsters, much to Kid Flash's chagrin. Danny began to tease Kid Flash about a prank he played on him. "It was me, Wally; I shoved the coffee table ever so slightly so that you would stub your toe right before you were sent off to school." "It was me who made your mother and father see your adult magazine!" Thawne laughed as he heard what the boy did. Leaving after Eobard was defeated, leaving very confused Speedsters behind.

Next, Danny decides to become Ares, the God of War. This leads to a comical confrontation with Wonder Woman. Ares is perplexed by how this young boy possesses his godly powers, and Diana is equally confused by the mysterious demigod child.

The one he had most fun was the Ra's al Ghul cosplay, complete with a sword. Danny found himself entangled in a battle between the League of Assassins and Green Arrow with his sidekick Speedy. Ra's was puzzled by this unexpected child version of himself, and Green Arrow can't help but be amused and confused by the whole situation. After the battle, Danny poured the ectoplasm from his bottle on the ground and jumped into it. Which made it look like Green Arrow and Ra's that Danny just jumped into Lazarus water and was swallowed by it.

Sinestro and Hal Jordan were bewildered by the appearance of a child wearing a Yellow Lantern ring. The notion of such a young Yellow Lantern throws them off balance during their battle. Sinestro and Hal Jordan are utterly baffled as to why a child could even wield the power of fear.

Dressed up as the Ocean Master, Danny intervenes in a conflict between Aquaman and Aqualad against the vengeful Ocean Master. Initially mistaking him for Orm's son, Arthur planned to talk with the boy, only for him to leave after the fight.

When Danny dons the Lex Luthor Warsuit, he finds himself in a confrontation with Superman, catching the attention of Lex Luthor. Lex is intrigued by the young boy's capabilities and is somehow proud of him, even though they aren't fighting on the same side. If Lex sees potential in him and contemplates offering some guidance, the boy would go far. The Suit was like his own.

At Last, The Mr. Freeze Costume, Danny intervenes in a showdown between Batman, Robin, and Mr. Freeze in Gotham City. The Caped Crusader is intrigued by this young "villain" and contemplates whether the boy can be taught to use his abilities responsibly. As Danny was just talking about Dr. Victor Fries inventions and theories, Victor saw that the boy had good ideas and theories.

Danny had his fun, and he tried to return home, only for the portal not to work.

He used it many times and had to wait a short time. Well, what are a few days here?

Oh I had to think about this SO HARD. (Also I have not read TSATS yet but I WILL SOON so if this conflicts with anything cannon... no it doesn't.)

~ Starting off soft, Will absolutely learns how to play Mythomagic and plays with Nico. They're both canonically massive nerds, it is destiny.

~ While they spend most of their teenagehood focusing on healing Nico's past, as young adults things slow down enough that Will uncovers his own slough of trauma that comes with being a caretaker from 12 years old onward and watching so many of his siblings and friends die/not being able to save them.

~ Will goes to college in New Rome to study actual medicine, but returns to Camp Half-Blood as a permanent doctor (which goes with my headcannon that Camp Half-Blood builds its own smaller version of New Rome for all the adult demigods to live their lives and help out camp from).

~ While Will goes to medical school... Nico simply decides education isn't for him and spends most of his time helping his friends, playing video games, being his father's right-hand man, and OF COURSE doting on Will.

Now for some sillier ones...

~ Stay-at-home boyfriend Nico di Angelo cooks the best home-cooked dinners that rival Sally Jackson herself and the demigods they're friends with in New Rome start inviting themselves over to Will and Nico's house for dinner.

~ The Solangelo residence is absolutely filled to the brim with collectibles and legos and everything nerdy you could ever imagine. They go to Comiccon together in California once a year and Nico is VERY dedicated to his cosplays.

~ Nico's favorite way to hug is by tucking his arms into his chest and just letting Will absolutely engulf him. Will's favorite way to hug is with Nico's arms tight around him, hands spread out on his back, while Will's arms hang loose and low around his waist, and lets himself sink into Nico's presence.

BOY DO I

She wears velcro shoes. they're the gaudiest, tackiest looking ones she could find that fit her from the kid's section. I personally usually like to give her Hello Kitty ones. She wears them cause they're fun and colorful and also ADHD causes problems with fine motor control which can make it hard to tie shoelaces, and the bright colors are great for sensory stuff, so colorful kid's velcro sneakers it is. This is so important to me.

Hair ties! I like to give her two braids down the side of her face tied off with big chunky bright hair ties. My hc with that is that she braids her hair as a stim, and those are just the easiest chunks of hair to braid and unbraid idly (source: that was one of my stims back when i had long hair), plus probably chews on them as another stim (she needs a chew necklace real bad she'll get one eventually). The hair ties being bright colors is once again sensory stimulation from bright colored clothing/accessories go brrr, they bonus as an extra fidget, and also she adores tacky/gaudy stuff and anti-fashion so they go right in with her aesthetic (or lack-there-of).

Okay so yknow how everybody started drawing Piper with beaded earrings. I disagree with the style of earrings everybody gives her - most people go with giving her BIG dangly beaded earrings. I don't think she's a big earrings person, or particularly a dangly earrings person, or at least not a "stylish" big earrings person. I DO however think she'd 100% adore beaded fandom earrings, like these hello kitty ones, or these Kiki's Delivery Service ones.

In general i think she owns so much youtuber merch. It is a solid staple of her wardrobe. The sillier and stupider, the better. She DEFINITELY has the GMM "Everybody knows i love lesbians" merch. She is the target demographic of that ridiculous redbubble merch stuff that's like, a throw blanket that's a collage of insert-youtuber-here's face. Also just general fandom merch. Again, the more ridiculous the better. She hates fashion you KNOW she's mix-and-matching cosplay pieces at least half out of spite just for fun.

She also 100% buys jackbox Tee-KO tshirts and has a whole collection of them.

Because I like giving Piper at least some sense of "I know people who exist outside of the main cast of protagonists" (that is severely lacking in HoO) i like to hc that Shel is an old childhood friend of hers that was like neighbors with her grandpa or something similar, so whenever Piper would visit they would hang out. When Piper moves to Oklahoma they start hanging out again and start dating.

She has very eclectic music tastes. When she was younger it was mostly she hated everything "popular" out of principle but as she got older it's just anything, though a general lean for stuff a la 2000s top hits, cause she is not immune to nostalgia. or late 2000s emo.

Contrary to popular fanon I don't hc that Piper and Leo were "true" friends pre-Hera memory shake-up. I imagine they had one of those school alliances you sometimes make where you see each other every day and you prefer working with them during class versus whoever else but you know like all of 4 things about them including their name and you've never hung out outside of class before. Immediately after their TLH quest they shift to more of a "we are in a new environment (hell of a situation with ADHD/autism) full of strangers (hell. hell on earth) but we know who each other are and are already familiar with one another so. CAMARADERIE." and by the end of the Argo II quest it's a "okay we're ACTUALLY proper friends now." They're not each other's best friends (Piper's is Annabeth and Leo's is Hazel) but they have a VERY strong unique bond of "we've been through this with each other from the beginning, since before all this demigod stuff."

Piper is very "queer label fuckery" to me. She'd LOVE defying boxes and just messing around with all of that. She's digging deep to find niche labels and using atypical combos and it's a really great identity sandbox for her. Also messing around with gendered language in a similar manner.

I don't care what canon says she and Drew eventually warm up to each other and become good siblings to me. Piper unlearns her internalized misogyny and Drew unlearns some of her toxic femininity and they learn to appreciate each other's perspectives - Drew eventually comes to find Piper's perspectives on fashion and the entertainment industry fascinating and Piper respects how outspoken and self-advocating Drew is. They get really into DIY fashion projects together - Piper's goal is to get Drew hooked on alt fashion and it's working.

thoughts on demigod daddy issues

I’m avoiding my responsibilities and my poll is proving controversial, so I thought I’d do my own writeup on each candidate:

Morgott: His dad presumably abandoned him in a sewer. Given Godfrey’s association with the crucible, I doubt it was Godfrey’s decision to confine the omen twins to the sewers and I have no doubt that he loved them, seeing Godfrey’s tender moment holding Morgott’s body. However, the twins ended up in that sewer nonetheless. Either Godfrey opposed this but didn’t fight for them hard enough, or he concluded it was for their own good. Still, Morgott defends the Erdtree like his father before him. Certified daddy issues

Mohg: Same backstory as Morgott, except we don’t get that poignant moment that we do with Godfrey and Morgott in the game. He seems to have abandoned everything Godfrey stood for anyway. Daddy issues present but not to the same extent as his brother

Miquella: For a while, he was daddy’s ultimate special golden boy. They crafted golden order fundamentalist incantations together as gifts for each other (and it’s never mentioned that Radagon did anything like this with his other children). He tried his very hardest to use the Golden Order’s teachings to heal his sister’s afflictions, but they ultimately could not save her and he turned his back on his father’s order. We don’t know how Radagon reacted, but based on his zealotry combined with his previous relationship with his son, there must have been a serious fallout. Certified daddy issues

Malenia: There aren’t any textual hints to her and Radagon’s relationship, but we can speculate. Her father’s order couldn’t heal her afflictions… did she feel like her father didn’t try hard enough for her? That he chose his own faith over her wellbeing? Subtextual daddy issues

Ranni: She probably despises her father for abandoning her mother and leaving her a broken husk; her mother, who was her greatest teacher and role model, who she protects and whose legacy and memory she continues to defend. On top of that, she despises her empyreanhood and wants no part of the Two Fingers’ designs. I wouldn’t be surprised if she blamed her father for the fingers’ hold on her fate, too. Certified daddy issues; however, she doesn’t seem to revel in any hatred for him and just does what needs to be done to realize her vision

Rykard: Mr. “Lord of Blasphemy,” son of Mr. “leal hound of the Golden Order.” You don’t dedicate your entire life to opposing everything your own father stands for, fight the “most appalling battle in the entirety of the Shattering,” feed yourself to the embodiment of treason against the Erdtree, or make it your goal to “devour the very gods” (god being your father’s counterpart), and not have some kind of daddy issues complex. There’s a potent and multifaceted dynamic here. The red feathers on the Gelmir knight helms might indicate a reverence for his father’s legacy. He worked alongside his father in enforcing the Golden Order’s rule of law. Yet he doesn’t seen to have ever held any personal loyalty to his father’s order, having planned to betray it long before he actually committed treason. He demonstrates affection for his mother, brother, and sister, but not his father. He lusts for his own power and independent authority, but echoes the violence carried out by his father in his own practices. What does his father mean to him? Is he a role model, or a tyrant, something to be destroyed and replaced? Or is he both? Certified implied daddy issues

Radahn: He inherited his famous red lion’s mane from Radagon, who was said to have hated his own red hair. He admires his father and his “heroic” legacy. Yet he walks around in Godfrey cosplay, seeking to emulate Godfrey’s legendary example on the battlefield. He doesn’t seem to have inherited Radagon’s love of the Erdtree, either. “I was born a champion’s cub. Now, I am the lord of the battlefield’s lion.” Though he admires his father’s strength, there seems to be a distance between them, a distance that has deepened his obsession with Godfrey as a role model. Did he feel under-appreciated by Radagon? self-conscious? abandoned? Certified daddy issues

Godwyn: We have no idea what his relationship to his father was. It is interesting that he takes a more reconciliatory approach to conflict than Godfrey, though.

Godrick: I don’t think we technically know who his direct father is; I think it’s likely he’s further down the line of Marika’s descendants rather than being a direct son of someone like Godwyn. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have some of the most potent issues with the legacy of his forebears in the game. He’s obsessed with living up to the legacy of the golden lineage, so much so that he steals other people’s limbs to make himself stronger. He constantly references Godfrey; his axe is an homage to him. “Great Godfrey, didst thou witness?” Everything he does is to make himself into what he believes to be more worthy of his lineage. Certified “daddy” issues. yes this still counts to me

god imagine c!wilbur wanting an Angsty Backstory TM so bad, like so many other demigods are like "monsters constantly attacked my home" "my mortal parent couldn't deal with the stress of raising a half-blood so they dropped me off at camp and never picked me up" and wilbur is so dramatic he acts like he has that kind of history - meanwhile philza is The supportive dad, he's totally cool w/ monsters showing up and he'll fight them off himself if it means protecting his son, he sends wilbur off on quests with sharpened weapons and a packed lunch w/ a note inside - and wilbur's like "daaaaad! i'm never gonna be a hero if i don't have a tragic backstory!"
