I sometimes think about men have almost the same rights, body autonomy, freedom in every country while for women life looks so different from country to country or at least from region to region.
In some countries you're forced to cover your head, in others you're prohibited from covering your head and in other countries you can wear/not wear what you want. You can have an abortion in that country but not this one. You can get education, degrees and have paying jobs in most countries but not in others. You can go to a doctor if you need to but there you can't because women aren't allowed to become doctors and women aren't allowed to see a male doctor..
I sometimes think about how shitty the country i live in is but then i think well at least i can get an education and go to a doctor.. i shouldn't have to be grateful for those things..

Viserys is just as despicable as Daemon and Otto, except in a different way
It's weird enough how King Viserys is widely well seen by the audience despite his evident selfishness, which is perhaps one of the most pronounced traits throughout the show. This perception is predominantly fueled by Rhaenyra's camp, who views Viserys' unequal treatment of his children in her favor as a redeeming quality of his character.
Tumblr media
The subtle detail of Rhaenyra eagerly desiring a sister while her mother is still pregnant often goes unnoticed, just like her displease of the life she is supposed to endure going through many difficult pregnancies. Her strong insistence that it will be a girl contrasts with her father's wishes, hinting at an awareness of the changing dynamics within the royal family in case a boy is born. Despite spending her early years as the king's only child, the frequent pregnancies of Rhaella imply the king's persistent efforts to secure a male heir to the throne.
Tumblr media
Therefore, Rhaenyra is effectively being sidelined as a potential heir in favor of a yet-to-be-born phantom brother. The king's intense desire for a male heir leads him to make the drastic decision of sacrificing his own wife during childbirth. While it's understandable that a mother would prioritize her child's life over her own, the scene becomes disturbing due to Aemma's clear distress and pleas for help let alone the fact that she was literally cut open while being awake, highlighting the king's unwavering determination that will lead to others suffering and this is a leit motive for the rest of his life, be it physically or emotionally.
Tumblr media
The claim that Viserys, a now seasoned king, was manipulated by a teenager into marriage is one of the most absurd ones in this fandom, especially if we take into account how Alicent is portrayed. In reality, it was another self-centered choice driven by his own desires. Alicent, despite being urged by her ambitious father to seduce the grieving king (much to her horror), maintains the demeanor of a respectable lady. During her time with Viserys, the focus is on shared interests such as history and books, creating a dynamic more akin to a father spending time with his daughter. Alicent even mends the temporary rift between him and Rhaenyra giving him genuine advice. Viserys undoubtedly married Alicent out of his own desire, not coercion as some suggest. The scene where he announces it reveals Alicent's almost shocked reaction, indicating her lingering hope that he might not proceed with the idea. If Viserys were a virtuous man, he would have found Alicent a suitable match with a respected lord to acknowledge her services and simultaneously spite her father's ulterior motives.
Tumblr media
Viserys continues to treat Alicent as an object throughout their marriage, often demanding her to fulfill his physical needs, even after he is plagued by illness and Alicent shown to be visibly uncomfortable because of it. After a somewhat "honeymoon" phase, which is still marred by a strained relationship between Alicent and Rhaenyra which puts the former in isolation despite her efforts to show support for her as the heir, Viserys is suddenly consumed by guilt for his actions towards Aemma. At this point, Alicent and their son Aegon (and by consequence their future three children) cease to exist for him. It's important to highlight that despite this epiphany and subsequent emotional neglect, Viserys' requests for physical intimacy with Alicent persist, which only makes him more of an hypocrite who still can't help but indulge in his selfish needs at the expense of others.
Tumblr media
Viserys' insensitivity towards Alicent is further emphasized when Daemon returns to King's Landing and both he and Viserys mock Alicent's attempts at conversation about the new tapestries. Even Rhaenyra is visibly appalled by their behavior and chooses to support Alicent to prevent her from feeling humiliated. The temporary resumption of friendship between the two women adds layers to their tragedy, as their later falling out is ultimately induced by the men who view them merely as tools of power.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In addition to Daemon's emotional hold on Rhaenyra that will lead to their scandalous marriage, Otto's influence over Alicent, and his manipulative schemes, Viserys perpetuates the conflict through his inaction and convenient stance in the middle ground. He neglects his other children, projecting guilt towards Aemma onto them and Alicent. While he outwardly shows love and favoritism for Rhaenyra and ignores her infractions, it seems more like a projection of guilt rather than genuine support, as he fails to take concrete steps to legitimize her ascension, especially now with the presence of sons. Viserys' actions ultimately work against Rhaenyra's favor, rather than supporting her. His handling of the family feud after Laena's funeral closes the door for any potential reconciliation between the queen and the princess.
Tumblr media
The truce dinner in episode 8 is unmistakably a ticking time bomb. The Rubicon was crossed years ago, but Viserys prefers to maintain the illusion of a happy family, akin to the illusion of Alicent being Aemma, for his own peace of mind. Rather than addressing the underlying issues, he opts to create a facade to avoid dealing with the potential chaos of his family members turning against each other once he is gone.
In conclusion, Viserys embodies those problematic people who often evade accountability for their actions due to their seemingly kind and sympathetic demeanor. His ability to project an amiable facade masks the deeper issues and consequences of his decisions, allowing him to avoid the scrutiny he might otherwise face.

Empanada seems to be really trying to force herself to fit in any means necessary for pepito, sunny and her own safety. Knowing their birthdays but choosing not to say anything to keep the new life, finding out about the code attack and saying she won’t leave till Sunny’s safe, referring to pepito and sunny as hers, saying that she won’t let anyone take away their happiness, and trying to get bagi to worry about Sunny so she’ll take them in. Em’s really pushing for them to keep their new life whatever it takes, and choosing to avoid speaking of the egg island unless it’s something that could garner sympathy. She’s just a little kid and she’s so scared that any day might be her and her siblings last with their new parents.

I am so tired of men's fashion and clothing being so boring and depressing. We have maybe a quarter of a store, and 95% is generic, boring and sad /ᐠ - ˕ -マ even my usual go to stores are now a sea of pastel (if your lucky) or stupid prints woth cards, hold naked ladies and skulls... on the other side, it's pushing me to really start to learn how to make patterns and eventually sow my own stuff, so tahts good, I guess?

Some of the antagonise options outside of the story are so vile they actually make me uncomfortable. It’s hard talking about Arthur because he is bound to be different for everyone. I cannot say that Arthur wouldn’t say that because the fact stands that the option to say those things is in the game.
However, it does not sit well with me that Arthur would talk in such way to Abigail, Tilly, Mary-Beth, Charles, Jack, Lenny, Karen.. It is not aligned with how he talks/writes about them/with them in cutscenes whatsoever. This is obviously my personal opinion but I just don’t understand how someone can watch all the scenes, hit the antagonise button and think: “yes, that’s totally how he would talk to them.”
On the other hand, with characters such as Uncle, Micah, Bill, Kieran, Strauss and even John and Sean Arthur can be seen antagonising them 80% of time in the cutscenes, which is why I think it makes sense to antagonise these characters and it is in line with how the character is presented outside of the player’s control ( even tho I personally only antagonise Micah and Bill).
Arthur can also say he has always hated dogs when that’s obviously not true as he had owned a dog himself, which he loved enough to have a picture of hung above his bed and take baths with. Which is why I personally take the optional antagonise lines (especially said to gang members) with reserve.

Okay but can we normalize writing about female characters being just like, a total meathead in the relationship?
I say that for lack of a better word.
Now; don’t get me wrong, I love a good sexy fic where the girl has no idea what tf is going on and the guy is just the man with a plan, or a good fashioned (AGE APPROPRIATE) mentor x student dynamic, (I repeat, in a specific fic that will contain two consenting adults.)
What I’m talking about is more along the lines of tropes we’ve normalized.
Writing is such a broad subject. Specifically, writing your characters.
We would be here for the next 300 years (maybe all the avatar movies will be out by then?) and we still wouldn’t cover everything.
And no. I’m not talking about the generalized ‘big strong man comes along and rescues the helpless damsel’, as much as that tends to bother me, I’m going a bit smaller.
I’m talking making your male character cry like a Disney princess at a wishing well and still making him a loveable, sexy, strong protagonist that doesn’t have any kind of ‘loss of masculinity’ throughout the story.
In talking about a female character who punches the shit out of a tree like a Minecraft character for 30 minutes straight because she’s really pissed off.
I’m talking about a girl grabbing a guy by the waist and kissing him.
You know what else is so funny? We can do that all without having their dynamic of sexual encounters be ‘she’s into dudes who dress up in skirts for her’ or ‘he wants a girl who will boss him around’
And of course; there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with those things. I am not kink shaming anyone. What I’m trying to get at here is that some people may think certain traits that are displayed would stereotypically reflect their sexual preferences.
Like; ‘oh that guy cried over a movie? Yeah. He probably wears a dress and makeup for his wife in bed’
Yk? That’s just getting old at this point.
I love seeing writers, filmmakers, and artists who are running wild with this concept and creating characters and dynamics that reflect all types of personalities and ‘abnormal’ gender identifying traits.
And guess what? Your male protagonist can absolutely cry over a book or movie and still portray dominance.
Your female protagonist can absolutely be the type of girl who beats the shit out of a random object because she’s pissed and afterwards paint her nails because she feels like it!
I’m currently writing a Neteyam x Reader, and I’m experimenting with some of these ideas myself. Writing more ‘emotionally natured’ male characters without straying them away from their original canonical structure.
This is getting long and it’s 3:54 in the morning where I live and I don’t want to wake my partner so I’m gonna wrap it up with this,
Dudes can be 6’00, built like a rock, and cry like a Disney princess.

Wait your telling me that Lesson 40 Nightbringer was MC, back in the timeline, the brothers welcoming us like we came back from what, shopping? Who don’t even know what friggin happened, like their memory was wiped or something…?
Bro I would have ripped everything apart after everything the MC went through, I mean I would be left traumatised. So now we’re gonna act like nothing happened?? We didn’t even get a glance at Nightbringer either.
At the very least it definitely felt lacking
There’s no way. People who still love the NB story and tell people to stop placing criticism in hard working devs and writers, do you still place your trust in Solmare?

John in Sherlock & Co. is like… actually my favorite thing ever.
John Watson has always been my favorite character. I don’t know what it is, but he’s just always been it for me, you know?
And I just… I love how he’s so silly in the podcast. I love listening to his stuttering, his references, his rants about pop culture, everything. Like he literally makes me burst out laughing like a maniac when listening to the podcast, he’s just so unintentionally funny.
Not to mention that he’s the sweetest. His sympathy for victims of cases is so prominent and he makes people feel seen, which I think is incredibly important. He has such a big heart and you can tell. When someone is feeling bad about themselves, like let’s say someone is in distress, he just listens. He listens and then afterwards, though he can sometimes be awkward about it, he keeps calm and tries to make them feel better, not just about the situation but about themselves.
And oh, how he looks out for people! Like in the Gloria Scott case, the way his heart went out to Victor and the way he tried his best to make sure he was protected just… ugh. It just shows you how much he cares for people, even if he’s not fully acquainted with them.
I really hope John Watson gets a whole lot of love from the Sherlock and Co. fandom as the podcast continues. He deserves it.

anyone else with autism feels like they were ahead of their peers as a child but now they are so far behind them.
as a child i felt more mature and more like an adult than everyone else, i read books and i followed all directions and i wasn't being goofy and annoying. i got along with teachers much better than anyone my age and just felt above everyone.
now, i just feel like a permanent 13 year old. people my age are getting into relationships where as i cannot imagine being that close to someone else (and frankly i dont think anyone has ever been interested in me that way). people are traveling out of the country with friends and drinking alcohol where as i feel like that is not a thing i should be doing and it feels like breaking rules even my own mum expects me to be like an adult and makes fun of me (lovingly) that i ask her for permission to go outside when im going to be moving out in like 2 months.
idk i just feel weird and alone. i feel like i wont ever find people that i will get along with beyond the surface level

I do want to point out that I've never seen a fandom that needs things so thoroughly explained by other people in order to understand a book/series like the SJM fandom does. And I'm not talking about theories, or worldbuilding or even about the SJMU – I'm talking about the most obvious interactions taking place, I'm talking about context clues, I'm talking about obvious build-up, I'm talking about characters acting a certain way... And people doubting everything they read and saying the most absurd things that simply go against canon.
Books are open to interpretation, no one is saying otherwise, but if you have a sentence that says "Character A is mad at Character B because C happened" and someone needs to make a thread on twitter or a post on tumblr explaining exactly why Character A is right to be mad at Character B (often citing things like it simply being a normal human reaction) then I start getting concerned about reading comprehension and media literacy.
I could go on about how some people heard SJM likes to leave crumbs and suddenly started deconstructing every single thing she writes to exhaustion (this coming from someone who often mentions how wording and phrasing are extremely important aspects of her writing) just as I could go on about how many readers' experiences (mainly concerning ACOTAR) are often based on what the readers see online opposed to what their own thoughts were when they first read the books. But alas, I will not.
Discussing these books and discussing different theories is one of my favourite things about this fandom, but I do think it gets rather exhausting discussing them with people that won't even consider canon....well, canon.

Marriage in general is fucked in the middle east..
I hate hate HATE living in a country where girls being married off at 15 is seen as something to be envious of.. is seen as something to be admired for..for fuck sakes! That's a fucking child!! I remember a classmate talking about i think a cousin of hers who's 15 who's married to a 29/30 year old man and how MUCH he LOVES her and how everyday he does her FUCKING HAIR FOR FUCKING SCHOOL!!!!
i saw a video of a 26 year old mother selling food on the street to make money and the top comment on that video was a man (sincerely) offering to marry her and he had like 100 replies of people asking him if he did it already and praising him for it..
And you know what's annoying is when i try to point out how fucked up those things are.. I'm almost always in the minority, I'm almost always argued against and people try to justify something like this by being like "this is our culture"....
fuck this culture and religion because you know damn well this shit is rooted in religion.. girls married off when they hit puberty to men twice their age is seen as an accomplishment.. men being encouraged to grace widows and divorced women with their kindness and marry them like they're broken or used (even if it meant getting a second, third or a fourth wife)...
And i know to most people reading this shit it sounds like I'm making it up but I'm not and you have no idea how much i wish i was..

So maybe I just feel like ranting. Tim Drake has been my favorite character for as long as I can remember, he’s the character that I’ve found myself relating to the most my entire life. That includes my bisexuality, when I was coming to terms with my own sexuality I saw myself more and more reading this character I loved as bisexual. It was something I identified with and thought it fit him. So when I saw the DC was making him bi, I got excited. Confirmation! Hurray!
At least that’s what it was like in the beginning, now I just tend to get frustrated. I want it put on record that I don’t hate Timber, I don’t hate Bernard. I hate that I feel like Tim got put with Bernard to check a box. Increasingly I feel like Tim’s relationship with Stephanie Brown was cut short because DC just want to make him date a boy to prove he was bi, and honestly? That’s just such a crushing feeling. When I’ve dated guys, that has not made me any less bisexual. When I’ve dated women THAT HAS NOT MADE ME ANY LESS BISEXUAL. It’s just a trend I feel like I’ve seen over and over again, if a character is bi, they have to be in a same sex pairing to prove it, and it just feels so unbelievably reductive to the bisexual experience. It’s treated so often like if you’re bisexual and dating someone of the opposite sex you’re not being true to yourself, or they’re not what you really want, and that is just so biphobic on so many levels it makes me want to puke. You can say what you want about the rocky road Tim and Steph’s relationship has been across their decades long history, but when they were broken up off screen it was a gut punch. It was such a blow because nothing in their recent writing indicated they were going to breakup, let alone so suddenly. For the answer to why to be shown over and over again by DC as “Tim just couldn’t be himself with her” is just such a shallow take, and terrible reason for me. Maybe it’s just me but I’ve found Bernard while cute and loving to Tim, to be a largely empty character with little substance. This lends to me feeling like Tim was put with him just to prove a point, so DC could say “See? He swings both ways!” doing so at the cost of a relationship that had been written for years at that point to be very loving and supportive.
I love this character, I loved Tim with Steph, I just wish that DC could have had Tim come out without falling back on so many harmful stereotypes with bisexual people, including the most harmful, that we will just drop our partners because they aren’t fulfilling us as bisexuals, that we’re shallow and confused, and can’t be our true selves unless we prove that we’re bi. I’m happy for representation, especially from my favorite character, but damnit I just wish it was treated with more tact and respect for what actually being bisexual is like. It’s not something we need to prove, it’s who we are, and that doesn’t mean we have to be with someone of the same sex and just happen to like the opposite sex as well. It’s not incidental. We don’t hurt the people that love us just to explore, and it’s damaging to frame it that way.

I have a made severe lapse in judgement.... (a black butler rant)
Man...
I am sorry. I truly apologize. The moment I saw his face in trailer, I was disappointed.
Tumblr media
⬆️⬆️
I thought," LOOK how they massacred my man😭😭". I was ready to roast and clown the shit out of his babified face when the first episode aired.
And I am not too proud to admit I was wrong.
Tumblr media
LOOK AT HIM
JUST LOOK AT HIM
*feral noises incoming*
When I saw him in motion, I had a second awakening (the first one being seeing him in season 1). It was glorious. Magnificent!
ELEGANTO!! *in the voice of the elegant dude from spy x family*
I am so sorry for all the words I was about to say. I am a changed woman. I apologize.
But truly, the animation seems to be gorgeous. Ciel looks a bit more mature in the season and Sebastian also seems to resonate the style Yana Toboso draws him in now and overall I think if they stick to the manga (looking at you season 2) and maintain the animation quality throughout the whole season, I think this will be a success. Kuroshitsuji maybe able to gain the same notorioty it had back in the day but we'll see.

Once again mad about how the The Mysterious Benedict Society tv show said the four main children’s pre-show traumas revolve around them feeling unwanted, abandoned, and alone and that this is the exact situation that led our villain to where he is today. And all of the kids have the potential to end up like him, only guess what? The don’t. Because they aren’t alone, unwanted, and abandoned anymore. They have each other, and they have a family. They might fight, they might make mistakes sometimes, they might hurt each other, but they will always be there to pick each other up and remind each other who they are. And then after setting up such good redemption and family-focused themes and plot lines that emphasize forgiveness, healing, and the best in humanity, the show was cancelled after two seasons and left plot lines hanging for no reason. 💔
