Dick Grayson: Witnesses both parents dying in front of him. Then he was adopted by the most EMOTIONALLY CONSTIPATED MAN in the entire universe.

Koriand’r: Her parents sold her into slavery to save her home planet. THEN her Dad call her home only to say the enslavers have left BUT Tamaran is about to break out into civil war and they NEED her to marry some guy she’s never met. Even though she was dating Dick and her FATHER WAS AWARE BUT DIDN’T CARE. He pressured her into a union she didn’t want and she lost her lover because he refused to be a side piece to a married woman. Also her sister sucks.

Raven: Her dad is literally a rock in her head, AKA Trigon. Say less.

Garfield Logan: His father experimented on him, saving his life but turing him green and giving him powers. Then his parents promptly drowned in a river. Then he went through foster care. Brought into the Doom patrol and raised by yet another emotionally constapated father figure.

Victor Stone: Mom? Dead. Dad? Scientist who saved his life after an accident, but turned his own kid into a half robot. Painfully. And against his will. He couldn’t play the sports he loved anymore and he felt like a freak.

Joseph Wilson: His dad is the reason he is Mute. He comes from the most dysfunctional family in DC, with his dad being an assassin for higher, and older brother who died, and a sister who his dad pretends doesn’t exist. His dad is “Death Stroke.” Say less.

Donna of Troy: Parents? Nope. She was saved from a house fire by wonder woman who brought her to live with the Amazons.

Got inspired by the song “Cats, dogs and Rats” by Rare Americans and since now my new hyperfixation is DC comics I had to make a drawing out of it

Now I wanna explain how they each fit into their roles

Cats: Jaime Reyes

I’ve started reading his Blue Beetle comic a few days ago, and with the movie plus what happens in YJ and Teen titans: The judas contract, Jaime always loses something after becoming blue beetle…in one comic he loses one year of his life, in the movie his dad and TTtJC his relationship with his dad. He gets lost.

Dogs: Garfield Logan

It’s pretty easy, Gar is like a dog, energetic, happy etc, but also he’s a lost cause due to his depression and how death follows him. He needs to distract himself to not face his true emotions

Rats: Bart Allen

Now from what I rmb in YJ s2 we don’t really see Bart breaking orders, maybe a few times but even so he quickly grows out of it, he still is reckless and mischievous but also is grounded enough to not do anything stupid that can get him injured

Thought there wouldn’t be any angst? WELL TOO BAD

(Btw Gar is standing on a stool, he didn’t wanna look so short in the middle)

Damian Wayne

• Damian grew up around a lot of open and honest people who weren’t opposed to talking about such things, so when it comes to him taking care of you for the first time he isn’t clueless as to what you need. Despite his aversion to relationships in the past, he still knows how to treat his significant other well.

• He is also very good at remembering what time of the month this comes around and how long it tends to last for, so usually (as he’s always doting on you and making sure you’re happy and comfortable) he’s asking if he can help you in any way before you even start to complain about cramps or other symptoms. Damian always has a lot of heat packs and medication ready for this time of the month too.

• You’re one of the very few people Damian allows to be near and close to him, and because you’re the dearest person to him he doesn’t mind you being clingy or wanting him to be close to you during this time. He may not admit it, but he actually likes your company a lot - but he also has no problem with you wanting to be left alone during this time as he himself knows that it’s like to just want to be left alone.

• Damian has absolutely no problem with going out to buy you your favourite snacks or sanitary products as all he wants to do is help you and make you feel at ease in any way that he can. He knows that there’s nothing to feel ashamed or embarrassed about so he’s more than happy to do this for you (and honestly he doesn’t really understand people who refuse to do this for their partner).

• He’s well aware that he doesn’t know everything about what you’re going through, so when he has free time he tries his best to learn about what may make you feel better and educates himself about periods in general. Very quickly you see this paying off as his caring of you becomes incredible and he ends up knowing more about your body that even you might.

Garfield Logan

• Garfield didn’t have much experience with periods when it came around to helping you out and being near you during this time. You might need to explain some things to him, but afterwards he understand and gets the hang of things very quickly.

• He’s always trying his best to understand what you’re going through and how you’re feeling, so he listens closely to the things you want and are experiencing. It doesn’t take long for him to automatically know what you want or need without you having to tell him because he listens to you so well.

• Just like Damian, Garfield is very able and willing to go out and buy you snacks or sanitary products whenever you ask - and he is actually very sweet about it. And although he may not know what to buy the first time around (or may get confused by how many options there are) just send him a picture of what you need and he’ll be set for all future times he goes to buy things for you.

• He would always feel sad and lonely if you wanted to be left alone while you’re on your period because he loves your company and never wants to be without you - but he would also never make you feel bad about this. If you let him and you aren’t feeling well or are tired Garfield would spend as much time with you as possible by getting cozy under some blankets with you, putting on a movie/tv show/game, and eating snacks with you (which instantly makes you feel better).

• If Garfield was ever confused or just simply wanted to know more about periods he would have no issue with asking you about it, and wouldn’t get embarrassed if other people were around too (unlike how a lot of people would be). I’m times like this his curiosity gets the best of him, so sometimes he comes out with strange questions at very odd times or he ends up with extremely weird google searches.
