one of my favorite details from the daredevil comics will forever be matt's white cane turning into his escrima sticks
it's about the symbolism
look, as someone who uses a walking cane i fucking love aids that are/turn into weapons. kaz and his lead lined cane hold a special place in my heart, as does the entire concept of sword canes as a whole.
with matt specifically it's, hold on let me see if i can use some of my english essay writing skill here
it's about the symbolism. it's about taking something most people view as a weakness and turning it into a strength. it's about how his main weapons as daredevil, one of the things that make people notice and perceive daredevil as a threat turns into one of the main reasons people overlook and write matt murdock off. it's about turning something mundane into something extraordinary, it's about how it ties back to his identity and how he allows himself to be perceived, how he wants people to see matt murdock, versus how he wants them to see daredevil. it's about bridging that gap via an object that is equally crucial to both identities but in different ways, as either a weapon or an aid.
i could probably go on but just understand that i am forever pissed that they dropped this detail from the tv show because it feels so important to his character, and i just think about it near constantly so just, take this

cursed construction core hi vis bra that came to me in a dream
In the dream I saw it in the window display of a hardware/DIY/trade shop, implying it was meant to be a practical garment designed for actual female constructions workers in a Female Armour level missed-the-brief attempt at gender inclusion
The practical support from the visible underwire combined with the hi vis implying it’s not meant to be worn as an undergarment, I just-
I blame my binge-reading ND Stevenson’s gender comics talking abt masculinity and femininity incl the one abt Victoria’s Secret lingerie yesterday for this monstrosity x’D

Patience and responsibility....that's a promise....right?
Part 27 First || Previous || Next
--Full Series--
An exorcism? In my family-friendly Deltarune? It's more likely than you may think. The backgrounds here were very interesting! Much more complex than how I usually do them (especially that computer).
Player POV:
Feral energy.

i've been thinking for a while about why matt and bruce's no-kill rules felt so different to me, bc it's the same rule, and they function in similar capacities, and i finally figured it out
bruce doesn't kill, batman doesn't kill, bc fundamentally he believes in rehabilitation. he believes that when given the right tools and surrounded by the right people, people will get better, and he believes in second, third, and more chances for people to improve. that's why he doesn't kill, he firmly believes that everyone has the capacity to get better.
matt doesn't kill, daredevil doesn't kill, bc he believes in the power of the justice system. he believes that everyone has a right to a fair trial and an attorney and an unbiased jury and judge, he knows it has it's failings and faults--hence the daredevil-ing--but he believes in it. that's why he doesn't kill, because he believes that the justice system will work.
and that's why they feel so different, idk this thought has been bothering me for days and i finally figured it out and wanted to share
