A Day With Huh Yunjin (Huh Yunjin)

Y/N's POV

Waking up to a beautiful sunrise, I looked over at my bed to see the missing presence of my gorgeous girlfriend which made me wonder where she could've gone.

Suddenly, I smelled a delicious aroma of food coming downstairs from the kitchen, I got up from my king-sized bed and walked down the stairs to see Yunjin-Noona cooking breakfast.

Quietly as she was occupied with cooking pancakes, I snuck a backhug making her jump a little before becoming a giggling mess.

"You almost gave me a heart attack baby," She said and I chuckled.

"Well I can't help it Noona, you are just so beautiful," I replied as I kept hugging her.

"Okay birthday boy, can you please get yourself cleaned?" She kindly asked and I nodded.

Letting go of Yunjin, I ran upstairs to shower and brush my teeth, I went back downstairs to see that Yunjin was finished cooking breakfast.

She placed the food on the table, I wasted no time digging in as Yunjin did the same enjoying her fruits of labor.

"Do you have anything particular you want to do for your birthday?" She asked.

"Uhm, not really, I just want to be with you," I answered and she smiled.

"Always cute aren't you~? But are you sure you want to stay home?" She asked and I shrugged.

"Unless you have something planned then I'll be more than happy to go with it," I replied and she nodded.

"Is the mall cool with you?" She proposed and I agreed.

As soon as we finish eating breakfast, Yunjin takes the dishes and cleans them up, we get dressed, and go into the garage into her car.

The drive was about ten minutes long until we reached the shopping center, she parked in an open stall and we got out.

Making our way into the shopping plaza, there were so many stores to browse and shop, but I followed Yunjin wherever she went, which is the Lego store.

"I thought you never liked being here," I mentioned.

"Which one do you want? The UCS Venator?" She asked and my eyes widened.

"W-What?" I stuttered and she giggled.

"You heard me right? Which set do you want?" She asked and I gulped.

Pointing at the UCS Venator she nods, she takes the huge ass set from the shelf and places it on the cashier's counter after waiting in line for a bit.

"Is this all for today?" He asked as he rang it up.

"Yes please," She answered.

"Alright that will be $619," He said and she paid with her card.

Putting the set into a giant bag, he handed over the receipt to her and wished us a good day, and we thanked him before we left the store.

Left totally in shock that Yunjin-Noona actually paid for a $600 Lego set that I've been saving up for months now, she pecks me on the cheek.

"You lucky that I love you so much," She mentioned.

"B-But you didn't have to, Noona..." I mumbled and she giggled.

"It's your birthday baby and I've been so busy with my Idol life so it's the least I can do for you," She assured and I sighed.

Continuing shopping and browsing the numerous stores, she kept on spoiling me with expensive gifts and shit which I'm not complaining but damn this is too much.

However, she takes me into a Victoria's Secret making me blush as there were so many pairs of underwear and lingerie on display.

"Are you okay?" She checks.

"N-Noona, did you really have to bring me here?" I nervously asked.

"Oh, cutie, I just needed your opinion," She answered and I gulped.

Choosing some pairs of lingerie, panties, and bras, she took my hand and dragged me into the dressing room and I waited outside the stall.

"What do you think of this?" She asked wearing sexy black lingerie.

"Oh my God... It looks so good," I complimented and she smirked.

"Okay then," She noted and went back inside to change.

Patiently waiting for her to change, she comes out five minutes later with a different pair of panties and bras nearly exposing her clit and breasts.

"How about this?" She asked and she began posing.

Thankfully, I was able to control my hormones, I gave my critique to her and she noted them before going back into the changing stall making me sigh in relief.

Knowing her antics, I figured that she had something special planned for me tonight and she knows that lingerie and revealing panties drive me nuts.

After changing back into her outfit, she paid for the lingerie along with the panties and bras and we continued browsing the various stores.

"Are you hungry?" She asked and my stomach growled.

"I take that as a yes," She pointed out and I embarrassingly nodded.

Walking to the food court on the other side of the mall, we went to a ramen shop ordered ramen bowls for lunch, and paid for the bill.

"How is it?" She asked.

"It's delicious, thank you for the meal, Noona," I thanked her and she smiled.

"Anything for my precious birthday boy~," She replied before patting my head.

Enjoying the ramen bowls, we finished shopping around the mall, placed our stuff into the backseat of her car, and drove back home.

Later on, she informed me that her members were coming over for my birthday party making me excited.

Around late afternoon, I was working on the UCS Lego Venator set when I heard the doorbell ring I looked at the camera to see it was her bandmates so I went downstairs to the door and opened it to let them inside.

"Hello, Noonas!" I greeted.

"Happy birthday, cutie!" Chaewon greeted and hugged me.

"Yah, back off Unnie~!" Yunjin said as she gently pushed her off of me.

"Aww~. What's the matter Yunjin, afraid I'm going to steal your baby~?" She teased and Yunjin hugged me tightly.

"No one touches my baby except for me~!" She said before pouting making the girls laugh their ass off.

Afterward, we set up the party, Zuha-Noona placed the cake onto the table along with delicious food that they cooked earlier along with fruit punch and drinks.

"Shall we get started?" Chaewon-Noona asked and the girls cheered.

Throughout the whole night, the girls sang karaoke covers of their own songs and other group's songs. Eventually, Yunjin-Noona and Manchae forced me to sing even though I didn't want to but I did it anyway just for the hell of it.

"Wow, you did so well, baby, maybe you should debut with us!" Yunjin-Noona complimented.

"N-No, Noona, I could never!" I argued and they giggled.

"Well, you never know until you try!" Manchae encouraged.

After singing our last song, we went to the kitchen dining table, ate the food, and moved on to cutting the cake after they all sang Happy Birthday to me.

"Did you make a wish baby?" Yunjin-Noona asked and I nodded.

"I wish to spend the whole day with Noona!" I answered.

"Aww~ He really is a cutie~!" Kazuha cooed and I blushed.

Opening the first present from Kazuha, was a brand new pair of AirPods Pro! Jeez, they really spend this much money on me?! But I'm still grateful.

Moving on to Chaewon's present, I took the contents out of the gift bag and it was a Lego BTS set and a letter wishing me happy birthday signed by all the girls.

The rest of the girl's gifts were also expensive as shit consisting of gift cards and even their own merchandise like lightsticks and albums.

"T-Thank you girls so much, I don't know how to repay you all!" I thanked them and they smiled.

"It's nothing Y/N, we're all happy to have you with us," Chaewon replied.

When it was starting to get late and the girls had to return to their schedule tomorrow morning consisting of errands and dance practices, they all went back to their dorm.

I was up in the bathroom brushing my teeth, and changing into my pajamas, I went into the bedroom and my jaw dropped as I saw my girlfriend in lingerie.

"Hello, baby~," She said with a devious smirk.

"W-What is the meaning of this?" I nervously asked and she grabbed me by the collar before pinning me onto the bed.

"Your final birthday present~," She whispered into my ears before attacking my neck.

Is literally the big brother of this little asshole

Look at how sad this scene was tho, along with the times the old monkey and the others ostracized him. I don't know why he of all Yaoguais would think that he'd beat the Demon King Of Confusion with coconuts, but I guess this means he wasn't quite meant for the cudgel anyway.

In Xi You Ji, SWK got the golden as-you-will cudgel after he returned to Huagoushan from Patriarch Subhodi's place, so he was already trained and knew very well how to deal with weapons and fighting (not to mention his magic and other such things, like SWK knowing Taoism/Daoism as well as the Way), and then sharing that knowledge with his people. That's why the Puti Arc was a very important bit that the movie did not put in.

Also what do you mean that Monkey King can just pull out his clones when that technique was taught by Subhodi/Puti too? Body-beyond-body is what it's called if I remember correctly, and yeah SWK was a monkey who can do almost everything but that doesn't mean he could just do that! It's annoying!

It also took him 2 decades (adding in the time that he journeyed through the two continents to find an immortal) to learn such lessons, so the movie was kind of a mockery to that fact. Wùkōng learned so many things from Subhodi's monastery that made all his achievements possible! Plot holes and other things, they could've at least mentioned or made a small montage for the arc.

But Monkey King is just the more chaotic, impulsive, and egotistical version of Dàshèng, though Dàshèng had always been more empathetic between the two. I'm also putting in that he also has a soft spot for kids. Monkey King was quite the narcissist in the beginning. Very self-centered. Also it's kind of sad that 2023 is just called "Monkey King" bc he never went to Patriarch Subhodi (again, still salty about that; they could've made Subhodi a father figure to Monkey King since the Huagoushan monkeys didn't care for him that much, especially the old monkey) in this movie; thus never getting his Buddhist name.

My headcannon is that I'll be naming him with the combinations of "左 Zuǒ" [left; the Left (politics); east; unorthodox; queer; wrong; differing; opposite; variant of 佐; (Chinese surname meaning; to assist; assistant; aide; to accompany)] which is ironic since it was Lin who wanted to be his assistant, forced or otherwise, and not the other way around. The second part of his name are either "空 Kōng" which means (empty; air; sky; in vain) or "空隙 Kòngxì" which means (crack; gap between two objects). So the options are either Zuǒkōng or Zuǒkòngxì— "Left to void/nothingness"/ "Assisted to nothingness", but if anyone has a better idea or better knowledge about the systems of Chinese names then feel free to correct me.

The reason why it's not "Wùkōng" is because, again, the "Wù" part of the name which means; "Wake to" or "Awaken from/to". I know that Monkey King was still born from stone, or a geode in the movie,

(Guanyin, in the book, was about to name him like she did with Sha Wujing and Zhu Wuneng, but SWK stopped her before she could, though the "Wu" would be quite dissolved with Monkey King 2023/Zuǒkōng/Zuǒkòngxi around before Tanzang came to Five Phases Mountain. Assuming the previous listed names I gave him holds, though the Bodhisattva Guanyin would still be able to change it.)

(I am liking the name Zuǒkōng though, so I'm sticking with that.)

Monkey King is of course not completely irredeemable, bc soft spots and the fear of loneliness and all, as well as his eventual 'fondness' towards Lin— but I still think the movie could've done much better than making this Monkey King another version of Lego SWK (sorry for the LMK SWK fans out there, just not a great fan of the iteration).

Aside from the plot holes and the characterization of multiple important Daoist figures in the movie, like Yù Huáng and Ao Guang or even King Qin'guang/Yama, I feel like they could've made it more interesting and the fight scenes have more pizzaz. How they managed to make a Kaiju fight so underwhelming impresses me tbh, and the way Monkey King received his win is as underwhelming.

HONESTLY I have so much more to say but I keep forgetting my words so I'll add to this when I gather my thoughts jsnnsksmks

I HAVE A BONE TO PICK WITH THE KUNG FU PANDA SERIES, I'M GRABBING IT BY THE THROAT AND DRAGGING IT TO THE DEPTHS

JUST COME'RE, COME'RE FOR A MINUTE AND EXPLAIN TO ME

WHAT. THE FUCK. IS THIS?

This has GOTTA be another Macaque disguise in order to mess with Wukong's image cause I refuse to believe that THIS is Wukong.

Now don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with adaptions made of our beloved monkey gremlin, a lot of them are super cool and well made! But there is a difference between an adaption and then just full on disgracing the source material BECAUSE HOW CAN ONE FUCK UP THIS BADLY ON SUCH A WELL KNOWN AND BELOVED CHARACTER? OKAY SIT DOWN FOR CLASS TIME AND LET ME STATE MY CASE.

First of all the looks, why is only one eye red and gold? I'm sorry but if I remember correctly Wukong wasn't half way in the furnace. My second gripe is with the monkey species they chose for him. Listen, Wukong is supposed to be the representation and embodiment of a monkey, he isn't supposed to be a specific species of monkey in the first place as he is not only his own species of monkey but he is supposed to represent all the monkey species. So making him into a specific species of monkey doesn't work all that well in the first place, but out of all the species they could've picked why the species that looks like a reverse oompa loompa?

AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON HIS POWERS

Okay okay, get this, not only did they heavily nerf him, but they also made it so all his power comes from THE GOLDEN CIRCLET. YEAH THAT'S RIGHT THEY MADE THE TRAUMA RING AROUND HIS HEAD INTO A CROWN THAT GIVES HIM POWERS AND THAT HE WANTS TO GET THE CROWN BACK.

The crown is most known for being the equivalent of a shock collar for him, how do you mess that one up THAT BAD?

And we haven't even touched on his backstory yet oh no no no no. Sit down as you are gonna LOVE this one folks

Apparently Wukong was great friends with the gods in heaven until he was framed for something he didn't do and was imprisoned, not in the mountains by the Buddha, but was imprisoned in the red jade mines for it. Not only that but he basically poisoned Po and his trainees as he could only get out if he replaced himself in the mines with another and keep them there until like sunset. First of all Wukong would never do that in the first place sure he was impulsive and reckless but he wasn't bad for the sake of being bad, he was just a bit of a trouble maker that needed proper guidance. NOT ONLY THAT BUT PO'S TRAINEES WHO ARE LITERALLY KIDS BEAT HIM. LIKE- HELLO? LITERAL KIDS BEAT SUN WUKONG? THE MOST OP CHARACTER IN KNOWN HISTORY?

Apparently the ldb was the one behind things and Wukong needed to stop her which we saw that be done much better in Lego Monkie Kid (amazing show I HIGHLY recommend watching that instead of this). And Wukong redeemed himself and became besties with the gods again.

OH OH AND TO ADD MORE SALT TO THE WOUND? MONKEY'S BROTHER IN KFP IS NAMED "WU KONG", THE SAME BROTHER WHO CAUSED THEIR OWN MOM TO DIE DUE TO HIS OWN SELFISHNESS.

LIKE BRO WTF DO THEY HAVE AGAINST WUKONG? WHY ALL THE BEEF AGAINST SUCH A BELOVED AND AMAZING CHARACTER AND MAKING HIM OUT TO BE A HORRIBLE AND PATHETIC GUY WHEN HE ISN'T?

Kung Fu Panda is beloved by China for it's good representation and understanding of it's culture, so how the franchise could let one of the most well known characters in Chinese mythology and stories get slanderized THIS BADLY by one of their spin off series is beyond me.

I know this has just been me ranting about how a recurring character in a series was characterized in a spin off series kid show people hardly know about but like- for some reason I was just absolutely flabbergasted by this characterization of Wukong as a whole in a franchise that's known for doing plenty of good research on chinese culture, mythology, belief and stories. My only hope is that this was Macaque disguised as a fake Wukong the whole time just pulling a funny prank.

Ghost random headcanons

My interest in genshin is kinda dying, but anyways here have my sweet princess Simon "Ghost" Riley cause I love him

My knowledge on call of duty is based on fanfiction, clips, a bit of fandom wiki and shit I see on tumblr, cause I see big strong man and start going AWOOGA

Edit some shit since some felt too OOC

Anyways hope y'all enjoy

Ghost has a phone and all the pictures are either him and Riley or just Riley I bet that he buys Riley those cute little dog outfits and take silly pictures of him.

I feel like he would sleep with Riley sometimes when he's at home, like he sleeps on the left side of the bed, while Riley sleeps on the right side all curled up.

And when he gets nightmares he just holds Riley close to him, and on rare occassions he'll talk about traumatizing moments in his life with Riley, it comforts him okay, mans not good at opening up.

Has drawing as a hobby, he doesn't really take it too seriously, but a relaxing activity he does from time to time.

He enjoys drawing pretty landscapes or animals, doesn't really like drawing people that much, finds it boring or smthn.

So when he has some free time alone, he pulls out his sketchbook and a few different types of pencils and draws what he saw today, it takes his mind off work and helps calm him down when he's pissed.

And he has another hobby which is building those miniature rooms / doll houses, and only Price knows about it cause he caught ghost making one and he never spoke about it to anyone, makes him smile a bit when he remembers it.

So in his house he just has a room for all his miniature sets and lego sets, and his mind wanders what could've been with his family as he looks at the lego ppl sometimes

(cause his childhood was shit and wonders what it could be like of his parents were better, and if his entire family did not die)

Oh and he watches rom-coms do not argue with me on this.

finally feel confident enough to speak my thoughts on the lmk s5 trailer

Just to recap, I held back saying anything at first cuz I don't handle change very well, and I didn't have a very good immediate reaction to the trailer. I wont go into detail other than saying I was upset about how different it was.

I'm not upset anymore. Do I wish we still had FlyingBark? ofc, I love their animation and I always will. But I know I can learn to love WildBrain as well.

I know we are all surprised with the style change, but the hate I'm seeing thrown at WildBrain is insane and extremely uncalled for.

I want to state this here and now, if I see anyone hating on and/or harassing the company or the animators I will be blocking you immediately.

Imagine how this company feels, having these giant shoes to fill. They post one trailer and are suddenly bombarded with hate?? That's not cool, guys. I know we were all thrown off at first, but there's no need to be nasty.

This is still the same show and the same story. This studio just animates differently. Will it be a bit of an adjustment period? Yes. Does that mean you should stop watching the show? NO.

If you start complaining or threaten to stop watching, LMK will get cancelled. It's as simple as that. LEGO is a big enough corporation that they won't think twice about it. If you still want to see the story and character development and voice actors, KEEP SUPPORTING THE SHOW!

(I might've broken some of you w the angst in the last few microfics so here is some fluff!! thank youu so much for the love so far! y'all keep me going 😭)

Draco kept his distance from him tonight.

It bothered him. It left a hole in his heart. It left him desperate for Draco being beside him. But he didn't have a reason why, "He is in love with you, you know?"

"What?"

"He is," Teddy said from beside him, building the Star Wars lego set with Rose and Hugo, "Because he said he has butterflies when he is with you and butterflies is love."

"You're eight," Harry brushed a kiss to his head, "and even if you have butterflies, it's not a sign of love."

"What is a sign of love?" Rose spoke but she soon became distracted with that miniature stormtrooper in her hand, "What if I gift you this? Would it be a sign of love? Because I love you most."

It elicited a soft laugh out of Harry while Rose held it out to him, "I love you, too, Rose. I love you even if you don't gift me your stormtrooper."

"Rose, you're young, you haven't even seen 'love love'."

"We can't see love love if we're young?" Rose said and turned towards Harry, "Wait, how can you even see love? Is there a sign? A colour?"

"No colour, no butterflies and no signs," Harry spoke softly, a breath caught in the back of his throat and his eyes began to search for Draco in the room, "being in love is more than that."

"Is it more than that with Draco, Harry?"

Harry rested his head on the wall behind him, "Yes, it's more than that with Draco. When has it not been?"

"What if he has butterflies because he is nervous to confess that he is in love love?" Teddy said.

"Oh, you should win the certificate for being such a master on the subject of love even when you're eight."

"I'll be sure to thank you and Draco in my speech, don't worry."

"But he will have to do the c word you said for that."

"It's confess, Rose."

She struck her tongue out, "I'm four, I'm smarter and better at words than you were when you were four."

"Harry, is she smarter than I am?"

Harry buried his head in his hands. He wasn't the best when he had to handle this. Not his strongest suit but it was Draco's. He could do this better than him, "Draco!"

"You wish that you were smarter than I am."

He didn't want to believe that Draco was in love with him. Or that he had butterflies when he is with Harry. But he had hope, "Draco!"

"You're four!"

Draco slid in beside him on the floor, brushing their shoulder together, "Hey, my troubles. Decided to trouble our beloved Harry tonight, have you?"

Our beloved.

"Draco, is Rose smarter than I am?"

"You're both smart, but there is a bit of difference," He said in a soft voice, "I'll elaborate. Harry and I, for instance. Harry is more street smart. He has the best strategies. I'm more smart in the technical side. None of us are smarter than the other. We're equals. But we work the best together. We're stronger together than by ourself. Isn't that what you both would be, too? Smarter and the best together?"

Harry buried his head in Draco's shoulder, "Thank you."

Draco ran his hand through his hair and the rest of the sounds in the house became distant to him, "Whatever would you do without me, Harry?"

"Not much, I dread being without you."

Draco's shoulders tensed, "Who said that?"

Harry traced his knuckles over Draco's cheeks. He didn't want to lose hope. He wanted to have more than butterflies with Draco, "You said it. None of them are the best with secrets, learn your lesson."

"Yeah, lesson learnt."

"I'm in love love with you, too."

Draco held a hand up, "I'm sorry, I love love you, too but I'm lost here. What is love love? Why isn't it one love?"

"It's love but with more emphasis!"

Harry brought Draco's hand back down and slid a paper ring onto his finger, "Thank you, both of you but why don't you build your lego sets and leave us both for a bit?"

"I've saved all your paper rings, you know?"

"All of them?"

Draco nodded, "I've saved them since the butterfly ring - the one you gave to me in the burrow - and all of them after that."

"You'll have to save more of them from now on."

"I don't mind, I'd save a million paper rings if those are yours."

"Even the butterfly ones?"

"Oh, especially the butterfly ones."

I’m low key sad that we didn’t get much Lumia and Noctura lore aside from the bare bones of everything.

In fact, I’m sad we didn’t get a deep dive into the lore of Lego Elves’ lore as a whole.

Lego, you had something great and proceeded to throw it away

So many possibilities that could've been dived into if LEGO wasn't so hasty in wrapping up the theme. I'm sure if we had chapter books for S3 and S4 we would be able to glean a lot of information about details that wouldn't have made it into the animations. Even having one activity book for S4 would have given us something more to play around with.

A S3 chapter book could have given us:

A more serious narrative of events (even by a little bit)

Expanded on the squad's dynamic now that they've known each other for a bit of time

Emily wondering where the other two sisters are and if she has to worry about them in the future

A POV shift that actually makes sense for the continuity. We can switch between Emily and Sophie every couple of chapters. Maybe throw in a Cronan POV for flavor at the end idk...

Pleasepleaseplease I need more of the squad interacting with each other through the adventures. These books make them feel more like co-workers than friends

A S4 chapter book could have given us:

Elvendale history. What's the connection between the guardians and the sisters? Is there a connection?

Can the guardians actually talk out loud for Emily to understand them?

More👏mentor👏Lumia👏and👏mentee👏Emily👏

To keep it real with y'all I just want a S4 activity book for the pretty artwork... and BIO blurbs for the guardians + Noctura 👉👈. A fun idea could be to split it into two books like what happened with the S2 story. One taking place in Elvendale and the other in the Shadow World. Realistically speaking I'd probably end up having to translate it from like... Belgian or something since LEGO is apparently allergic to publishing Elves activity books in English past season 2.

I'd still do it though.

BE MORE CHILL AU. IDK A BIT(?) LONG

`Jeremy.`

He shot awake, panting. Damnit, not again— Jeremy must've been scaring himself at this point. He checked the clock; so early, but why? It's almost as if his body had been purposefully doing this, waking him up as if the Squip was waiting *right* there, and was getting impatient. Regardless, couldn't happen. He had felt it, *heard it*. All the Squips had been deactivated, and his Squip was no exemption to that. Thank god Micheal had Code Red on standbye, with what could've happen— Another code red would have arised without it.

He wondered, because he had some extra time, why not think about everything? It had only been a week, yet everything felt fresh in his mind. But he felt so detached from it. Who would believe it, though? That some supercomputer had just lodged himself into his brain, and nearly took over the entire school? Or.. Attempted to? No way.

Usually, he didn't enjoy being alone with his thoughts. Today was different though. It hurt his brain though. Why had *his* Squip tried to take over the world? After having him less than a week. He became so aggressive. He had mentioned he was a learning computer, said he was faulty. Rich apparently had his for nearly 3 years, and nothing huge had happened.

❝ WATASHI..

WA.. NIHON KARA KIMASHITA! ❞

He groaned, it didn't concern him. He reached for his laptop; though, muscle memory was going against him, as he swore he felt a little shock. Like a program, he stopped this action immediately. He took a breath in. Squip had at least fixed ONE part of his life.

School time. He was still considered a popular kid, well, saving the school and all! He was laughing, and having fun. They even brought their own drinks! And almost as he had forgotten, he took a swig of mountain dew.

Wait, hah! Didn't even matter. The Squip was gone, what was a little Mountain Dew going to do to him? He took it all down like he had been triple-dog-dared to (the highest of encouragements), and smiled. It had always been one of his favourite sodas.

He had stayed a little bit later for extra help, just with math homework he wasn't a big fan about. The only people left were teachers. He assumed everybody else was embarrassed to be aided, whatever! He strutted down the hallway with pride, he felt so amazing, proud of himself. He didn't need a SQUIP, he didn't need anything. He had always been good, it just took a little push. And his best friend!

Suddenly, he felt pulses of electricity go through his body. It felt like he was going through a panic attack while getting electrocuted, and it wasn't so great for his motor skills. He fell to his knees, quivering. He couldn't support himself any longer though, his body gave out on himself as he laid there gasping for air. Tears welling in his eyes. It stopped, as suddenly as it came. But his body was still shivering from the aftershocks of it all. Wiping his eyes, he slowly opened them. Having not gotten up yet, he saw something peculiar no further than a few feet away. Maybe two.

Pixels, stacking ontop of eachother from bottom to top like Lego bricks infront of him. They emitted an electric cyan glow, which breifly pulsed red. Even they seemed disoriented, as they went through the entire spectrum before stopping themselves on the same sharp blue they had been previously.

`Get up.`

A voice demanded. Jeremys body felt light as he automatically did so. Sitting up. He wiped his eyes, and placed his glasses back on. His eyes widened, as he took a step back.

"No. Nonono."

`Oh, yesyesyes. Deny it all you want. Plug your ears, and attempt to tune me out. But I am back.`

His breathing spiked, as he started to shake as if he had been shocked again.

"Stop. Stop! I'm- I'm hallucona—"

`Stop speaking to me out loud. You look pathetic.`

He took a sharp inhale in, he still remembered SQUIPS commands from that week ago. 'Just think at me, like you're telepathic.' were his words.

Sadly, Jeremy was pathetic and incapable of doing so. SQUIPS stoic and eerily robotic face contorted to slight annoyance, clearly being aware of this fact.

`Let's try something different.`

His appearance went completely black, as the shadow morphed to one of much shorter stature. It glitched, and went completely cyan. Before it reached it's achieved goal.

There SQUIP stood, having taken the appearance of a shorter, teen-like, more approachable. Man? Woman? Jeremy couldn't tell. Mainly masculine, though.

`" Is this better for you? "`

Ew. His voice didn't sound bad, just different without the whole dude-bro-keanu thing going on. He sounded normal, though. For a teen. **[[POV SWITCH I HATE 3RD PERSON SOMETIMES]]**

He gripped on my collar as he pulled me down, my breath hitched and I felt my face go red. Being so close to him felt no different to the other times, especially when he told me to take him inside me— Forever? But I muttered out a response.

"I, I have so many questions."

Didn't seem to ever be good enough for *him* though, because he let go and placed his hands on his hips.

`" I'm aware "`

I opened my mouth to speak, but he leaned forward and put his finger up to my lips, shushing me. He felt like pure static electricity, which made me flinch back.

`" Shh, I already know your first question. 'Oh SQUIP, why are you here?' "`

He was.. Mocking me, clearly.

`"Well, have you already forgotten. Jeremy? I never expected you to be so forgetful. When you drink mountain dew,

It ALWAYS turns me on."`

I panicked, my face flushed even redder. I could cosplay the Mountain Dew Code Red at this point.

"You- You m-mean like. *Activating*, right?—"

`"I said what I said."`

**WHAT?!** What was that supposed to mean? I mean, I always knew SQUIP had this *thing* for making weird innuendos with me. It was confusing, especially with how he harbours such a hate for 'activities which require tissues and lotion', if you know what I mean.

"E-Excuse m—"

`"What did I say about stuttering? We need a complete overhaul on your personality, once more. Now, come along. Let's go home."`

"What?- I, can everyone see you?"

`"In this form, yes."`

"I can't just, bring some random student home with me!"

`"Tell your father I'm an exchange student, or, Infact, don't elaborate at all. I'm sure he'd be glad you've spoken to anyone who isn't online. Infact, do you know that most of the girls you speak to online are actually old m—"`

I groaned. "Okay! Okay I will!"

I finally went home, him trailing behind me slowly. My dad hadn't even been paying attention to me when I came back home. I guess we didn't need his little plan after all. When I got back up, I stretched out and laid on my bed. As SQUIP prodded and poked at the rest of my things. His body shifted once more, to his default appearance.

"Why didn't you just do that before?! Are you trying to get on my nerves."

`"That isn't important, now. Are you still single?"`

"I *was* dating Christine, but we just.. Work out better as friends."

`"Good."`

"..What?"

`"Being single is good."`

"Didn't you say the exact opposite last time..?"

`"That was V2.5. I am currently V4. I am updated, different, improved. Unlike you."`

I flipped over and burried my head into my pillow

"Just go.."

`"Refrain from speaking to me that way. Sit up."`

And than I felt it, again. my body merely obeying his command, and sitting up straight. But, before I could ask that. Another question rang through my head—

"—Hey. If green mountain dew activates you, and red deactivates.. What do the other colours do?"

His outer glow of the standard electric blue pulsed. He seemed off guard, causing his usually unsettlingly empty expression to shift to one of shock, before easily collecting himself. I guess he had not been expecting that one.

`"Well. Voltage causes temporary energy, Major Melon increases strength temporarily, Spark gives you the ability to shock me, Baja Blast cause me to become lenient, DEW-S-A greatly confuses me; scrambles me up, Live Wire makes me speak much more, Pitch Black blinds me, Throwback gives me an annoyingly 90's vocabulary, SuperNova causes me to get romantic, White Out causes a temporary memory wipe, Ultra Violet gets me emotional; positively, Holiday brew gets me emotional; negatively, Dewshine turns me invisible, Sangrita Blast renders me capable of controlling you completely, Violet causes me to revert to Japanese, Spring Bloom increases eyesight, and Voo-DEW causes a random mashup of any/either of the others abilities."`

1. blind spot - okay yk pls this is in the best possible nostalgic way but it sounds like it's part of the lego movie soundtrack go listen if you don't believe me ABD THATS A GOOD THING!!!! this song just SWALLOWED ME ALIVE oh my gosh it reminds me of retro jpop and also 2000s teen movies and maybe that's why i was like obsessed? the vocals and the CHORUS oh my gosh it just was everything i wanted and yes this was the one i pressed on first when the album came out bc i have been WAITING FOR HER

2. lalalala - NEED I SAY MORE??? this was everything and more for a title track oh my gosh. i was a bit skeptical when they announced the name bc it sounded like it might be a bit too repetitive but NOPE OH MY GOSH IT ATE THIS WAS INCREDIBLE also felix finally being able to swear made my aussie heart proud 🥹🥹 the choreography too though oh my and i LOVED that the chorus was done by the people who don't often do the chorus?? does that make sense?? also it's a longer song which is a win bc why is every title track under 3mins now like wtf

3. comflex - IM LITERALLY CRYING DID JYP PERMIT THEM TO RELEASE UNCENSORED SONGS 😭😭😭😭 i love me a rap song with some insane vocals though hgdafg it's giving very 5 star but also i see why it fits in this album and im here for it

4. megaverse - look this is TITLE TRACK MATERIAL it's like the banger b side that could've been a whole comeback of its own (im looking at you charmer, item, get lit and domino) the only thing i didn't like was their promotion style this time like y'all did NOT just spoil two of your songs before releasing the album like when i know songs in the album/songs repeat in the album it basically makes me think minus those songs so this album was really only 4 songs for me since every other song i already knew/is a variation of another anyway other than that it slaps but would've slapped harder if it was a first time listen

5. cover me - SEUNGMIN YOUR VOCALS AT THE END HAD ME GASPING FOR AIR SHSHUAHSHHSHA stunning and stunninger its a bit like stars and raindrops's emo older brother shhshs this fit skzflix SO WELL THOUGH

6. leave - same as megaverse if it was a first time listen it just wouldve hit that tiny bit harder but still in love with it!! it's the chill sad love song that every skz album needs fr the new brother of collision, chill and mixtape oh

7. social path - we already knew her but she still did well as always! i mean its hard to fuck up this song but it's not hard to fuck up my brain like girl i really went and understood it in japanese and now she's re released in a different language and im gonna be confused af whenever this version plays 😭 I WILL SAY THOUGH social path definitely fits this album better than the japanese one like it's a lot more rocky whilst social path + super bowl felt a bit like an awkward combination and then butterflies was fr just hanging in there 😭

Why G1 Ended: No "Medium Fans"

New video out on my channel, check it out in the first reblog! Here I argue that the reason why Bionicle Generation 1 ended was that the story was far too scattered across different media, making it too hard to follow in the later arcs. The dedicated fans were willing to put in the effort, but less dedicated fans couldn't.

Meaning there was a relatively small group of superfans, a large group of casual fans who only vaguely followed the story, but very few in between, because the story being scattered meant it wasn't as easily accessible, and there were plenty of people who would've loved it who never got a chance to experience the deeper parts of the story.

And you can see this today in the online fandom, there are plenty of people who were obsessed with the series (like me, and many of us here) and a lot of "oh yeah, those cool robot toys, I liked the Red One."

And I firmly believe that in any franchise, it is these "medium fans" who drive the primary sales for the series, a large bulk of people who really like it, but aren't so invested to seek out every bit of lore they can. Like in Star Wars, you've got the superfans who know all the explanded universe and lore and lightsaber forms and all that, and the casuals who only vaguely follow the series. But you also have the medium fans who saw all the movies and maybe some of the shows, but don't stray too far from the most accessible media.

Bionicle's story was a multimedia extravaganza, but what that meant is there was no place to get the whole story that was available everywhere. Meaning there was little place for medium fans to thrive as it progressed. It says a lot about Bionicle's strength as a story that so many kids who had access to the whole thing became superfans. But the fact is without more casual fans to back them up, superfans can't support a franchise.

Now many people say the solution would've been a tv show, a widely accessible and enjoyable way to get the whole story in order in a single place. And I'd say I agree, at least that a tv show like Ninjago got would've gotten way more people into it. Though I must say, as it was the books were amazing, and the multimedia nature of it gave it a unique charm. I wouldn't change too much of what G1 did, though IF it were to ever come back, I think they'd need to give it a fully funded tv show right off the bat. Not a half-baked mini-series a full year in (looking at YOU Journey to One!)

So with all the buzz of attention around the Tahu Gift with Purchase leaks, the surpirising increase in attention from Lego on social media, and just the general surge in activity in the Bionicle fandom over the last few years, there's so much talk, speculation, and debate about whether or not Bionicle will or even can come back in some form. But with that comes reservations about how it ended the previous two times.

So this is part 1 in a 3-part series I'm making looking at the story-based reasons why Bionicle series have ended in the past, and what could've been done to avoid those failures to ultimately ask what would need to happen for Bionicle to return.

In part 2 I'll look at why G2's story and advertising failed to be captivating to new audiences and why I believe that was the cause of its early ending. And in part 3, I give my conclusions on if and how Bionicle could return in some form, as well as talk about why it might not need to, because the fans have been keeping it alive on their own.

i think this ask has been in my inbox ever since they dropped the album and i'm so sorry for being so late, i'm bad at being a tumblrina 😔

but YEAH can we actually talk about that?

obviously this is just speculation and theories and bla bla bla we know that + alex's lyricism is so nuanced and full of multi-faceted meanings, and we will never have confirmation on what most of his lyrics actually mean... and i love that, i love that he's always let everyone have their own interpretation(s) of his songs without imposing a single one.

now, i do think most of this album is centered on self-reflection. it's very very very personal and introspective, and what i get from most of the lyrics is him reflecting on his present situation (private life, work life, any aspect of his life really) by using two main elements as his devices to do it:

1) obscure references (the first ones that come to mind are "the simulation cartridge for city life '09", "they shot it all in cinemascope", "lego napoleon movie", "richard of york, the executive branch")

2) even more obscure memories from his past, and especially his childhood (which is particularly clear in the title track itself)

but right along all that self-reflection and addressing himself we also find instances of him clearly addressing someone else. sometimes it's particularly tricky to understand *when* exactly he's talking to himself or that other person. as i already said in other analysis posts, i think sometimes he mixes the 1st and 2nd person pronouns voluntarily, using 'you' not only to refer to his interlocutor but also to himself. that's what makes songs such as mirrorball and body paint so complicated to analyse (ESPECIALLY mirrorball. i'm still so conflicted on my interpretation of it) (+ ever since the album dropped my interpretations of body paint and also mr schwartz changed a bit too. but that's another story)

i think overall most of the songs on this album are not that easily interpreted through a romantic lens. i'd say the one that falls the most into the (very very broad) category of """""love songs""""" is mirrorball - and even then, it'd be a breakup song AND most of it could also still be interpreted as self-reflection. again, multiple interpretations.

there are also some lyrics that could easily pass as...... him throwing shade? lmao some passages in sculptures + hello you really give off that vibe.

getting back to the point of this ask.... yes, i have spent an embarrassing amount of time reading the lyrics over and over again and i do have my crazy little milex theories about them!!!

but what i really love about this way of interpreting the album is the fact that to me, its queerness doesn't necessarily come from it being about a certain person. what makes it so relatable to some aspects of queerness is, again, how self-reflective it is. so many lyrics could be interpreted as him struggling with *his* queerness and expressing that struggle through looking at the past, addressing himself as well as an (imaginary) interlocutor and just finding himself coming back to the same recurrent themes over and over again. ESPECIALLY - and that's what really fucking gets me - the whole mask/façade/persona situation, seasoned with a whole lot of regret and self-deprecation, which is especially clear in body paint (!!!!!!), mr schwartz, big ideas (i feel like as a fandom we don't talk about "the ballad of what could've been" enough. can we actually sit down and THINK about that for a second. such a fucking important line. he was so fucking insane for that) and perfect sense (about which i have a very specific interpretation and is2g don't even touch me that song makes me too emotional it's literally one of the most perfect songs i've ever heard i'm not even joking)

so yeah, some (many) lyrics could be directed at miles (never say never, you know?) but what i really love about the possibility of this album having queer connotations is that it doesn't look for its own queerness from the outside, from a hypothetical (ex-)lover, but rather from alex's own psyche and emotions. its queerness comes from within. from self-reflection and (perhaps unwanted) realizations. from having to hide and keeping a mask on to not be found out. from the inner battle between denial and acceptance.

and then there are a million other unrelated meanings that blend together with the possible queer ones and create such an elaborate set of layers that just makes it so interesting to analyse it!!! and that's the whole point of critical analysis and what makes it so cool!!! having possible multiple interpretations that can coexist with each other!!! i just!!! love that!!! so much!!!

Episode 8

Now. I wanted to end it all here. But I thought I'd separate the final episode from the others and so that we would have 5 parts :) (I just like the numbers like that. Okay?)

The name of the episode has so much meaning- oh god...

The deer- 😭 how did it even end up there?? And Zoey saving it- the tightrope (how did it even end up in the cyber realm??)

"Stop! Stop! Shoo!"

You're supposed to be saving it- but I guess you have to be alive to do so (also, the sounds it makes when it nibbles on the rope- lol)

"It's easy to get scared when you're all alone" (awh-)

"There you are! You know, I could've used your help with this"

"Exactly! [Doing a small jump] She'll never see it coming!"

Logan studying! So he can look good in front of Astrid(or to beat her. Or-... feel better about himself?)!

"He knows you actually have to read those, right?"

[Nodding]

"Logan, nobody wants to beat Royce's protégé more than I do,but I'll be honest, in this next round, you're going to be facing the most diabolical, most menacing, most insidious things you've ever seen"

"An alarm clock" with- a very serious voice

oh... wow. Okay

"Oh~! Squeal! It's so cute!" (Did she really say "sqeal"? Mood) "Look at those big, dreamy eyes!"

The clock is cute? No, you're cute! (...am I flirting with a lego? Y'know what forget it)

And Mateo and Cooper in the background- just staring at her blankly lol (the background is really interesting to look at in this season) and when they get told to stop Logan while he tried to catch the clock, Izzie's pose- it's so cute😍 and again, Mateo and Cooper just like- blank

The alarm clock went to 19 to 12 seconds a bit too fast...? I think

"Wah, wait. Why are you guys backing up? Is it my breath? Oh, nuts!"

The alarm wasn't a loud one. I guess it's just dream magic?

"If you and Mr. Oz are sort of the same, why do you stay here in the Dream World when he wakes up?" I was thinking the same thing! So many questions about Albert! Unsolved!!

We. Need. Answers!

"Isn't there a part of you that's always dreaming?" (But this doesn't satisfy all the questions I have)

So.... they're just training with all these random people being there with them?

Well unicorns! And Mateo's actually doing something! And Cooper- ...I thought you moved on from the vehicles (his face literally reads "yeah. I thought I did too. Why did I do that?")

Can't you just... fall asleep again? Or... does some weird magic in the dream world stop you from doing that?)

And do these kids really not know that they divorced or something? Or.. maybe something else happened? Idk

But Mr. Oz, really? You don't have to eat off of the floor! (And I just realized. In the 18 years ago episode, Albert said something like "keeping the kids dreaming" or.. whatnot. So... Beau and Hannaha are pretty young back then. At least younger than mr. Oz. So.... does that mean beau talking to mr. Oz this whole time was... on purpose? "I'm going to be rude to him now! Hehe" and... how did mr Oz know that the night hunter was one of his past teammates? And how did he not connect the dots of Beau being the night hunter? And-)

I love how Zoey gets her confidence after seeing her dad. Because she still thinks that he couldn't come. Which in her case would make her feel even better that he did come. That he's really trying to make a difference. Because Zoey still thinks that her dad has to do other stuff that night. But despite that he came to see her! That's what Zoey has on her mind. That's how Zoey is seeing this. Which makes it even more of a... important thing to her

Yup. And we got Cooper. Either being the logical one as always, or just... continuing to be a supportive friend

Yeah- okay. Gotta agree tho. These clones are fun. Look at that personality! Whoo!

Alright. Supportive friend it is. And- no. No he is... the opposite of back. He's bot even the same guy-

It's not just me- he did get more hyped up (and did he just pick him up on his shoulders? He can do that?? Does logic work differently here or can he actually do that? I mean- he did it with such confidence and comfort like he's done that hundreds of times)

"No Logan! You don't get it. He sabotaged me to make the task force!"

LEGO On A Budget 2024 #6: 60400 Go-Karts and Race Drivers & 71428 Yoshi's Egg-cellent Forest

You'd be surprised to know- It seems as if we will end this series on exactly 10 blog posts. We've got 6 normal sets left to cover after this, then 4 more that I can only nab online. I didn't think it would go by this fast! Of course, i'll make new posts covering whatever comes out after March as well, though those will most likely be sporadic for a while, with LEGO's tactic of releasing most of their stuff in January and July and whatnot.

LEGO City - 60400 Go-Karts and Race Drivers

God, this one. You wouldn't think 2 dinky karts would have 99 pieces total, but I suppose it does. It didn't particularly feel that way though. As you possibly could've guessed, both of these builds are close to identical. Why they felt the need to make two seperate manuals for both karts, I have no clue. They are VERY thin.

Thankfully though, I actually do like the designs. I think the colors are more unique than a lot of what City has put out, especially the neon colored one. My personal bias also takes some joy in the small racing car builds in general, I think i've mentioned here before that I was a big Lego Racers kid in the 2000s. Been a bit since i've seen these small wheels that throw me back big time. Still, i'm not sure if this should've been a full set, this could've rather easily been two seperate polybags in my opinion.

LEGO Super Mario - 71428 Yoshi's Egg-cellent Forest

And here we go. Wahoo. Yippee, mamma mia, let's a go. It's LEGO Sup Mama. The franchise I have the most embarrassing feelings for, after all, it's Super Mario Advance 2 that introduced me to non-PC gaming after all. I was never TOO interested in grabbing these sets untill now, but this set may have convinced me to change my mind.

Now there's some odd choices made with the way this one's been packaged. This is the *smallest* box i've yet seen so far, or at least it's among the smallest. And that whiie it's the first box with over 100 pieces contained inside AND has a pretty thick instruction book with 3 sacks included. Weird, makes it seem less significant while it's decently substantial. At least when compared to the frickin' Goomba's Shoe set.

For what it IS though, hoo, this is a nice set. Building these Yoshis was verrry satisfying, they look great and have a good amount of heft. I am not sure if I like the fact I had to effectively do the same thing twice though (sound familiar?). The tree canopy and the egg top it all off to make it remarkably faithful to the funny hoohoo man's franchise, and pleasant to the eye and hands.

...If it wouldn't fall apart so damn easily. I had so much trouble lifting this one into my cabinet cuz the green piece that attaches the platforms together would keep getting loose, and more frustatingly, the Yoshi duo also wouldn't be too stable on their little stand pieces. That does put a bit of a damper on things, though I wouldn't call it a dealbreaker, moreso something you need to be mindful off when holding it in it's entirety.

Current rankings:

Go-Karts and Race Drivers is ultimately decent. It's not something I am dying to do again, I better hope there ain't another car set coming up, though it's got some merit in subtle ways, particularly those aforementioned unique colors. For that, it tops the 'lower tier', aka anything below the Fire Rescue Motorcycle.

Yoshi's Egg-cellent Forest (haaaaaaaaa) is certainly the most visually pleasing set, and hey, it's from a franchise I really hold close. I don't think it deserves top marks because of it's fragility and has you build the same thing twice. Gets pretty close though. This is gonna be the new number 4, beating out Mateo's Off-Road Car.
