Dear diary,

Shopping trips, I do genuinely enjoy going shopping for cute clothes, although at the same time I do get anxious as well regarding certain things. Like if the store is particularly crowded, items disorganized throughout store and sizing. Seriously it's stressful when you aren't sure of your own size because if how brands sizing can change and all the numbers, 14, 5, 1/26, s/m/lg etc. Honesty I just wish they universally used the S/M/LG scale with whatever numbers you want to put for waist ,bra etc. But have it be the same so much less anxiety that way but whatever I survived. ~

I found a pair of jeans because practically speaking its probably good to have one pair of jeans, for days when you dont want to dress up but don't want to give off lazy vibes with sweatpants especially when having to visit relative's or meeting hypothetically with coworkers, friends etc. ~

Not that I'll be doing that but at least I have a safe option that won't gather any criticism. It was weird wearing jeans after not having worn them since elementary school. But the fabric was soft so that helped. ~

Shoes, tennis shoes most of the marketed athletic brands were more than what I wanted to spend, but found a few non sports marketed tennis shoes it was between a pair of ones that were slightly too tight and ones that were a little big, since that pair was for wide feet which don't have. I went with the slightly bigger pair because I can wear my thick fuzzy socks with them if I want too without it being too tight. ~

But I am just going to say it, it's ridiculously hard finding right size when you are 4.5 to 5 in shoes, I am lucky I found a pair even they are quite obviously sparkly. ~

I also couldn't resist the oversized sweater, it's a problem but I just love my oversized comfy wear at least I resisted the urge to buy a few more pairs of sweatpants and I found the cutest sexy little dress ~

Totally gives off Audrey Hepburn vibes, soft, with a built in padded bra <got to love that>, black and just made me feel so thin and sexy ~

I am going to pair it with these retro cat eye sunglasses I found and my baby pink high heels, a little ruffle coquette ankle sock and then either cardigan or pair it with that mini leather jacket when it goes on sale ~

I may not be glamorous or a natural drop dead gorgeous beauty that can look perfectly adorable sexy in anything but I can at least pretend for a little while ~

"please Rafey" you say with the eyes of a beaten dog. "Love you don’t want to go to the restaurant and then to the beach like all the time?" said he was trying to convince you.

"Rafe he won’t come back and I really want to go, please?.." Rafe looks at you with frustration. Why? Because your favorite rapper came to the Outer Banks on your birthday.

Rafe sighs and nods before rising the lower lip. You jump with joy while shouting victory. Rafe did not understand, you were so sweet. You looked like a baby dog following him around being pure. You shuddered when he stirred his neck or touched you. So when you asked him to go see 21 savage, he didn’t understand.

Luckily he wears pants wide enough, because currently his dick is hard, why? because despite your dress, he feels your panties on his shoulders.

The end of the concert arrives and 21 begins to sing your favorite music, you sing with all your strength forcing Rafe to sing too. You wave at the rapper thinking he hadn’t seen it but on the contrary, he sees it and to the general surprise, he makes you one in return, You are more than mad with joy unlike Rafe who is jealous. Why among the hundreds of girls who wear practically nothing, does he notice you?

When you finally got to Tannyhill, He opened the passenger door and carried you so you wouldn’t walk barefoot, When you walked into the huge house, Topper was in front. You were shocked to see him, Rafe not as if he expected to see him.

"Hi Y/N, how are you?" says Topper. "Hey, what are you doing here?" You ask him nicely." I came for the d-"Topper’s tired, he better be home, right, man?" Rafe cuts. Rafe gives a bad look to the blond who nods directly. "Yes I better go, Bye Y/N happy birthday again!" he says on the run. You turn to Rafe and he just shrugs his shoulders, you go into the living room and a box with ribbons and holes is laid on the little table.

Rafe rocks him and you look at the scene with admiration, then he gives you back the baby dogs. "Love" Rafe looks at you intrigued." Her name Love. She’s a female." You say cheerfully smiling.

The ultimate guide to being coquette as a hijabi girlie

Being a coquette hijabi is so hard because so many of the key motifs (mini skirts/more revealing clothing, the literal meaning of the word, for example) go against what we believe in. But it's not impossible. So here are my personal favorite ways to be a coquette girlie without compromising my faith! (p.s thank you to @augusttheicedcoffeeaddict for reminding me to post this hehe ily)

Also!!! No hate to the coquette girlies who do wear mini skirts etc.

The white maxi skirt 🦢˚✧𓂃🩰 ໒꒱ ⋆ ˚ ⊹

Mini skirts are a staple in so many coquette outfits and so many people will try to make you think maxi skirts aren't cute but they're just haters. A cute sweater + a pleated or tiered white maxi skirt + some crafty layering has been such a lifesaving formula for me. Blouses work great for this too. And the things you can put on top of a white maxi skirt are endless. Pretty blouses, mini dresses, sweaters, sweatshirts, even cute tshirts with long sleeved shirts underneath. Same goes for denim skirts. I'm looking for one right now and I can't find any I like, but once I do I'll be unstoppable.

Bowssss 🦢˚✧𓂃🩰 ໒꒱ ⋆ ˚ ⊹

Bows. Bows are THE coquette accessory. And, thank god, you don't have to wear a mini skirt to wear bows!

Put them on literally everything. If you want to put them on your hijab, you can use a safety pin to put it on the back of your head, or you could do what I usually do, which is put them in my hijab pins. Depending on the size you can make it as subtle as you want. I have a pinterest tutorial here. (The pic on the left is me!)

So far, this has all been stuff just in the context of going out in public. At home, I highly recommend doing you hair in a coquette way and wearing things you can only have on in front of family. It's such a confidence booster. It's a bit of effort but it's so so worth it!

The coquette aesthetic is way more than just the clothes and hair. So if you really want to feel coquette, try and make your room as coquette as possible. Put up some coquette posters on your wall. A lot of coquette posters are haramcore and some people don't like putting up faces on their wall, so here are some really cute pics for inspo :3

What's in your bag? 🦢˚✧𓂃🩰 ໒꒱ ⋆ ˚ ⊹

Purses can make or break a good outfit. My biggest tip is to match them to your hijab. It pulls it all together. The last thing you want is for your hijab to feel like it's clashing with the rest of the outfit.

What's inside is important too! Inner beauty isn't just for living things. Keep whatever essentials you already have, plus lipgloss, a compact mirror bc no one's out here trying to have a bad hijab day, and a little bit of ribbon. Trust me about the ribbon.

Shoes!!! 🦢˚✧𓂃🩰 ໒꒱ ⋆ ˚ ⊹

Please don't wear a super cute coquette outfit and then wear tennis shoes. Just don't. Mary janes, Doc M's, and ballet flats are all really good choices.

Ik I probably sound like I'm obsessing over tiny things, but you kinda have to bc when you're breaking the mold every little thing matters.

Last but not least, do not ever ever let people make fun of you. If you're a hijabi coquette girlie, you probably have some form of a muslim community, and they probably won't dress in your style. That was my case, and when I first started wearing mary janes and lace gloves I got SO made fun of. Not from the adults, but from my friends. One girl called my mary janes dorky and said they annoyed her every time she saw them. I think she expected me to laugh, but you just have to keep a straight face and say to their face that you thought that was rude. She never called me dorky again 🤷‍♀️

okay so for bunny reader look for lots of bodysuits, micro mini skirts, tracksuits, mini dresses and those cross wrap neckline tops. I don't have a specific aesthetic in mind for her but I take elements of TikTok's version of coquette for kook!bunny and mix it with traditional southern preppy looks so lots of florals and pastels indie sleaze/spring breakers type looks for pogue!bunny. look for authentic 2000s pieces for the more casual comfy looks like bobby jack and happy bunny. omighty also is great to look for her too. shoes I say go for wedges, kitten heels, and scrappy sandals. and for gym shoes anything in pink or white I esp the converse heels>>>

neow I base kitten off myself more than anyone (the 3rd pic is literally me at 19) and her style is based a lot on punk/grunge/metal subcultures as well as just like. authentic Tumblr girl trenches. shes the pogueist of all the girls so she wears a lot more jeans than the others. lots of graphic tees esp ironic ones, or shirts you find at the little boys section of Walmart. big clunky boots, lots of striped socks like the ones im wearing. old ed hardy is very her too, baggy jeans mores than skinny jeans, movie t shirts, also.a big fan of long sleeves under short sleeves. when she gets "girly" its mostly button up dresses and regular sneakers. shes a black forces girl LOL. also lots of halter tops and tube tops again in either sporty graphics or simple colors and oversized sweatshirts you get from the mens section at thrift stores of fishing stores, truck shows etc.

I rly want to understand the coquette subculture. It seems neat! but I'm so confused. I thought I got it, but the more I look into it, the less coherency I see (at least, in a way I understand). I don't see any consistent color palettes, textiles, topics, ideology, makeup, hairstyles, music, community language or signals. I can see ballgowns & lace w/ glitter & then tshirts and flannels in a dingy laundromat. I've seen people recommend Little Women & American Psycho in the same breath w/ no further elaboration. Celebrities w/ completely separate style influences are often grouped together. I see a lot of idealization of wealthy femininity ("old money", luxury brands, mostly rich celebrities, preppy vibes, heavy amounts of skincare/selfcare/"wellness" routines which cost $$$$) but also lots of depictions life's struggle w mental illness, substance abuse, & others things commonly associated w poverty & lack of class/femininity (Cigarettes, sweatshirts, the aforementioned laundromat, not eating, pills, speculating about Anya Taylor Joy's coping mechanisms??). What is it that unifies y'all? What is it that I'm missing? I feel so lost & I want to figure it out :/

this is a great question and I can totally understand your confusion! the way I see coquette/faunlet is more of an attitude than a specific style/aesthetic but I still call it an aesthetic if that makes any sense. it's about reclaiming your own girlhood in whatever way that looks to you, we all look and dress differently but have the same sorta energy that connects us as a community.

it all began with nymphet, which was all about classic americana, lolita, lana del rey, gingham, coca cola, diners, priscilla presley etc. but the tag got censored by tumblr because many kink blogs were infiltrating this innocent subculture with sexual material. in this era girls were feeling connected to dolores haze from lolita through their own experiences and related to her as a tragic figure.

the community was revived many times but the current home of the community is with @coquette-club which was created by @lovesickbrat and also used by @bbabyyy ♡ there is a lot more to our history that I'm missing out on but if you look on my blog you will find more explanations.

there are many subtypes of coquette which is why you see so many conflicting aesthetics within the tag, from coquette noir (which is like an expression of French new wave film stars, 1920s aesthetics, Betty boop, mainly black outfits etc.) to bubblegum coquette (all things pink and girly, electra heart era marina and the diamonds, barbie etc.) and many coquettes on here either fit into these substyles or blend some together to make their own personal style!

the old money aesthetic is popular but controversial due to its implications, and I'm personally more into the thrifty side of coquette, and using pieces that I've had for years in my looks.

as a community we usually try to distance ourselves from the pro-ed/pro-ana communities as they can be harmful to our vulnerable members, since they promote eds and make them look glamorous which is something we don't want associated with our subculture.

I hope this answers your question - in short, coquette is about being authentic to yourself, reclaiming girlhood, community and sisterhood, incorporating your own aesthetics and interests (e.g. horror coquette) and expression ♡ if you have any more questions I'll try my best to answer them!
