Are You Controlled By Fear?
It is hard to believe that people are still falling for it. But the other day I went to a consignment store that has wonderful things. I noticed a sign on the door saying, “Masks encouraged.” Sure enough, when I went up to the desk, I saw that all three women working there were wearing pointy white paper masks. Of course, they do nothing to protect the wearer from this virus. I guess it is some…

Co-morbid anon back! Dont worry, I'm using the app. I actually refuse to use social media on websites. It's glitchy, laggy, and, just as the last anon said, people can still see it. I'm taking safety measures./nm
That's good,, I'm glad you're safe/taking safety measures ^_^

I gave up and dug out my Vampire Chronicles novels - guess we’re rereading the Devil’s Minion chapter before the next episode drops 😌
Glad I kept the first few books for sentimental reasons even after my bad breakup with Anne Rice 😂

>.> Can you say more words about GO2
Oh, I can, but they're not very nice words.
While I had my issues with the first season, the second season is just so... bafflingly bad? Like, so strangely bad. Plotwise it feels like something written by a beginner. Like for some reason they've given a huge budget to some mediocre fanfic. There are just so many instances where they obviously had to get from point A to point B and just made up a quick shortcut without thinking too much about the implications or it, you know, making sense. Some of it is because of the honestly strange decision to let other writers take care of the flashbacks, with the worst contender the WWII flashback (zombies exist now? with no repercussions? so much gratuitous gore? Also the whole sequence with the gun would be so dramatic if, you know, demons actually died instead of being discorporated being nothing but a minor administrative setback). But it's also there in the main plot. Fire extinguishers work against demons for some reason? Aziraphale goes all the way to Scotland and back to learn basically nothing? The whole contrived romantic subplot with Nina and Maggie? The fucking Gabriel/Beelzebub thing? It's all either so heavy handed or just plain lazy. And I'm all for suspension of disbelief but if it's just one thing after another...
To me it feels like the basic plot of the whole second season could've over and done with in half an episode, and they just put in filler after filler to fluff it out into a full season where, in fact, barely anything happens.
And it's so odd! I know John Finnemore's work, he's good at intricate little plot connections! And Neil Gaiman can hardly be called an inexperienced writer either! It just feels like they were too lazy to actually bother writing a plot that works.
Meanwhile characterisation-wise, they've gone further on the path they'd already started in season one and wandered even farther away from what made the book characterisation interesting. In the book, Crowley is the nice one, who's generally polite and friendly and very fond of humans, while Aziraphale is, honestly, a bit of a dick and a recluse who prefers not interacting with humans and is 100% down to kill a child if it means he can keep his comfy lifestyle going. Aziraphale accidentally kills a dove and doesn't care about it. Crowley is the one that revives it. It's that kind of contradiction that makes it so fun, and to see that reversed into Aziraphale being a bleeding heart saving-the-poor-humans and Crowley acting all tough and sarcastic really erases a lot of what makes the pairing so charming.
But the thing that bothers me the most is how much they included the Big Conflict between Heaven and Hell. In the books, both Crowley and Aziraphale are low in the hierarchy. You only catch a glimpse of the big players and only at the end. Plus, they're lazy. It's a plot point that they both have human agents to take care of the work for them and that they don't get involved. They're not remotely interested by the overarching conflict or wanting either side to win. The whole point of the Agreement is that they take over a bit of each other's work for ease and convenience. And they're not particularly involved in humanity's welbeing either, and they definitely don't go around saving individual humans. They're disturbed by it, sure, but they don't think about interfering in any way. They only start taking an active role when their comfy lifestyle is threatened. And that's what I like about the whole thing. It's small, in a way. It's contained. Meanwhile the TV series went full out with Hell and Heaven fighting against each other and Crowley and Aziraphale suddenly becoming major agents in that conflict, catching the interest of demons and angels all the way up. It feels very at odds with the central theme and message of the book.
I did enjoy watching it. About 50% for the little things that did work, and about 50% to point and laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.
And to spot the Pratchett references, of course. Those were nice.

Co-Morbid.
Two Vulcans who, bonded as children, were raised in the same household (their parents were close friends, hence why they decided to bond their households together officially as family) and became obsessed with one another to the point that their life’s goal is to become one being in the most literal sense imaginable. They refer to themselves as a singular entity ‘Ulotyn’ (a mash of their names, Ulonk and T’ynara) and as children had a shared diary in which they recounted every conversation, movement and thought they could possibly remember as they couldn’t go everywhere together at the time. Their parents became concerned by their increasingly frequent ‘lapses in memory’ in which one would claim that something that happened to the other happened to them. (Ex: Ulonk gets a toy and T’ynara says that she received that same toy. T’ynara goes to the park and Ulonk claims to have gone to the park despite having been forced to study that day.) They did not make friends with other children and became distressed when they weren’t in contact for a period of time which became shorter and shorter with age. However, they became extremely adept at telepathic communication and devoted themselves to the study of telepathic abilities, not only of Vulcans but of all telepathic species. Once they grew old enough to live on their own they married (before any pon farr) and began seeking out more ways they could become one singular person. Unlike in most Vulcan marriages in which the strive to become “as one” is about unity and cooperation, Ulotyn sought to eliminate all differences between them and would become distressed if any arose.  (For Example: If Ulonk liked a certain fruit that T’ynara didn’t they’d both have to decide together if Ulonk would hate the fruit or T’ynara would like it - instead of these differences merely being accepted.) Also unlike most Vulcan marriages they had known one another and been in close proximity (and, at a certain point, nearly constant contact) for all of their lives. This left very few differences between them to reconcile or reasons to grow and gain new insight into themselves. Though they became very well-respected scholars who furthered research into the telepathic abilities of Vulcankind they were eventually ostracized and shunned due to their behaviour becoming more and more concerning. They were eventually taken into custody after attempting to perform a bonding ritual without the aid of a priestess, elder or medic between them and another individual who they claimed to have fallen in love with. (as they viewed themselves as one individual they also viewed themselves as being unbonded. They also saw the potential success of such a ritual as confirmation that they were truly one being.) Ulotyn was confined to a facility dedicated to their continued care in the hopes that one day they might separate themselves from one another and rededicate themselves to logic. However, they continue to communicate with the individual they refer to as their ‘bondmate’ and through them they have been able to continue publishing papers on the subject of Telepathy. It is still unknown what precisely caused these events to transpire. Was the priestess who bonded them responsible? Was it the fact that they grew up in extremely close proximity to one another? Was one of them born with mental health issues that were compounded and transferred through the bond? Both of them? Was it the familial environment? No one knows to this day, though several papers on the subject have been published. Perhaps one by Ulotyn themself.

Started on a new anti-migraine drug today (ajovy). Also have had terrible sleep - Especially today, but, like, all year. Also, y'know the migraines.
So not 100% sure if certain things are side-effects of the ajovy or just y'know, my body being upset with many things going on in its life - But more to the point: Should I be concerned with anything that I'm seeing/experiencing?.
Trying to google side-effects is sure a fucking trip, though.
Official company line on their site seems to be "Some swelling/irritation near injection site" is likely the only side-effect confirmed to definitely be from this medicine. Anything else? Well, that must be someone else's problem.
Various reddit posts of peoples' experiences with the medication - Mostly neutral-to-mildly positive. A lot of not-outright-negativity, but disappointment or frustration about the tradeoffs vs benefits. But the side-effects definitely vary wildly in type and intensity. The ones I'm curious about are topics of discussion that have come up with some degree of frequency.
Various interaction/drug rundown sites have much more comprehensive lists, but also include a warning that the ones I'm looking into may be serious/concerning and I should consult my doctor about them right away. Which, like, doesn't seem to be the tone regarding them anywhere else. So, more confusion as-to who's out of step here.
Meanwhile, the pamphlet that came in its box actually does have a more comprehensive list of possible side-effects. Doesn't list severity other than obvious "If experiencing anaphylaxis..." or other obvious emergencies/serious stuff, then go to ER/phone doctor immediately. Everything else listed is just sort of "This could happen" without any level of how concerned you should be.
The ones I've noticed are heartburn (Unusual for me without certain types and timings of trigger-foods, but not impossible to be something else going on that's unrelated to this). And notable joint-stiffness (hands and feet, especially on the same side as my injection), with a touch of joint pain. Both of those are in the "might happen in ~1% of patients" group. Which, hey, alright. That's fine. They're known to have a connection, echoing what the reddit posts were saying. From the tone in the pamphlet and on reddit, I probably don't need to be concerned unless they worsen or persist for a very long time.
Uncommon doesn't necessarily mean alarming, though I am curious as to if there's any correlation in the group of people that experience them. Any factor that might predict it, or explain why they're causing this reaction, y'know?
Okay. Good. No need to panic. Probably should sleep though. Less than 4 hours in the last 48 can't be good for me.

“Have you ever, just for the tiniest moment, considered what you are doing?” “What do you mean, have I considered what I am doing? Of course I have!”
Fëanáro saw his wife glaring at him, looking back at her with equal anger. Of course he considered. Only nobody else ever did, judging by their behaviour and their apparent blindness to what was going on around them.
“Then explain to me, please, why you are prepared to tear our family apart, and your people. You. Are. King, Fëanáro!”
He scoffed.
“Do you think I don’t know that? And I’m doing what a king is supposed to do, I lead my people to safety…”
“To safety?” Nerdanel cut across him, with an incredulous look on her face. “No, lord. You’re leading them to their doom, away from safety, undoing all the work your father…”
“Atar was fooled. He was fooled and brainwashed and…”
“Brainwashed? Brainwashed? Are you out of your mind?”
Sentences were randomly finished when they were rowing, and the fact faintly amused Fëanáro. He laughed.
“Yes, you are mad. You must be, because you laugh in a situation such as this! You are tearing our marriage apart. You are murdering our children, you…”
“I? No, Nerdanel, you do that. You are the one to betray me and my sons, you decided to side with the murderers of Atar, your King, Nerdanel!”
She took a few steadying breaths, and when she spoke again, her voice was calm, which made Fëanáro hope that she might be prepared to see sense now. A hope that was swiftly destroyed.
“The Valar did not murder your father! Morgoth did. They kept us safe…”
“They wanted us as their pets. Eru knows I loved my father, but he was weak in that point. Shortsighted. Unable to see through their lies…”
“No!” Nerdanel screamed now, looked deranged. “You idiot! You are the one to believe the lies! Your father saw sense! At least until he started listening to you and valuing gems more than family!”
“Don’t you dare…”
“Dare what? Tell you the truth?”
Fëanáro reached up into his hair, tearing at it. How could Nerdanel be so stupid? He had always thought her quick-witted, but apparently, he had been mistaken. Or she was just as brainwashed by the Valar as all the rest of them were. Did she not see? That they had lured the Eldar into coming to Aman? Robbed them of their native lands? Probably so that Morgoth could have them, he thought derisively. Oh, what a clever plan that had been, taking three boys and showing them Valinor. And like children offered sweets, they had gone back and persuaded the rest to follow, that dim-witted bunch. Oh, how they irked him with their imprecision. They had no sense for subtlety, no pride in their heritage, no desire to challenge themselves each day anew. They were lazy, lulled in by the Valar. But that was over now, he, Fëanaro, would see to that.
“You are talking nonsense!” he stated coldly.
At this, Nerdanel reached out to him, grabbing the front of his robes. He pushed her off him.
“Don’t touch me!” He snarled, yet he had overdone it, had actually pushed her to the floor. He hadn’t meant that, but then, she knew perfectly well that he didn’t like to be touched unasked. It took him a moment to realise that she was crying, which confused him. He couldn’t possibly have hurt her that much?
“Our sons, Fëanáro, our children… please let them remain here, where it is safe.” Nerdanel sobbed. “Oh, I beg you, leave at least the twins. They are so young, they still need a home…”
He only snorted.
“You, Nerdanel, chose to desert them, not I!”
And with that, he turned, never to look back.  (There again, being autistic is no excuse for being an arsehole, which Fëanor is at that time)

Co morbid anon here.
I'm a minor who's parents monitor my search history, even through the router. I CANT research. It will literally potentially put me in mental danger. I can't look up what the terminology means. I didn't know what the "morbid" came from. I appreciate people telling, but I don't think you guys (not mod, they weren't harsh, but other people) understand that some people can't do things because of how it is. This disorder formed on trauma and people (again, not mod, they tried to explain and it wasnt harsh) assume that you're an adult and/or don't have monitored internet access. I also noticed you didn't post my ask about how it felt derogatory to ME, as, again, I couldn't look it up. Yes, I'm aware I'm on Tumblr DID blogs, but for some reason, they don't go through my social media, only my search history. (Probably because I've only got Pintrest and Tumblr and they're not educated on these platforms, honestly.
Idk if Tumblr ate my ask or what, but I'm copy pasting this lol
((I think Tumblr at your ask, because I didn't receive another one from you before this :p))
But yeah,, we can kind of understand where you've come from, the word "morbid" has a meaning on its own and if you didn't know where it came from it's understandable. I think some people have the main issue with the wording, calling it derogatory is a little intense. Maybe it's better to just say it makes you uncomfortable? /Nm (just a suggestion ^_^)
But yeah, we're really sorry if you feel hurt by any of the other asks that we've replied to, we doubt the intention of them was to hurt you or come across as rude but we can get that sometimes things get out of hand and yeah,, stuff happens. We hope you're alright anon and we hope you have a good day ^_^

when someone tells you they thought you were medicated for your mental health, do NOT think of it as a personal win that you are rawdogging it
your issues are so visible they are written on you big enough for people to see, see a professional
