A/N: Okay this is round two of trying to post this because last time it didn’t show up in the tags.
Summary: Basically just some p!rn with plot.
Tumblr media
“You do know Chris is here.” Your friend nudged your shoulder as the two of you waited for your drinks at the bar. You rolled your eyes but nodded. It was hard not to notice when Chris was around.
“I don’t care.”
Lie.
“So you don’t care that he’s here and there’s another girl on his lap?” You followed her gaze and felt your stomach drop as you noticed the beautiful redhead that had her arms draped around Chris as she giggled at whatever he said.
“Nope.”
Another lie.
But what were you supposed to do? You and Chris weren’t official or even exclusive. It had started as strictly friends with benefits, leaning more towards the benefits than the friends aspect. Basically you guys were one step up from a booty call for each other. And that had worked for a while, but over the last year you guys slowly started adding more friendship to your relationship. Movie nights, lunch and coffee dates...hell, Chris had even met your dad a couple times. But again neither of you would put any sort of label on it; even if you desperately wanted to now.
“I know you’re lying, but I’m going to let you believe that for right now.” Your friend grabbed the drinks from the bar and handed you your drink. Immediately you downed the whole thing.
“Oh yeah, you’re totally fine.” She laughed as you guys made your way to the dance floor.
Chris, the girl and the rest of their group was no less than 10 feet away from you as you and Y/F/N started to dance. The alcohol flowing freely through your bloodstream as you let it take over and you became more free in your movements.
“Hey beautiful,” You smiled as you felt hands wrap around your waist. You started grinding against the stranger, your hands falling on top of theirs. You turned around and were surprised at how beautiful the guy was. He had dark skin and dark piercing eyes. His hands pulled you closer to him as you continued to grind against his pelvis. With your arms wrapped around his neck, you pulled him into a deep kiss, hoping that this would get the other beautiful man in this bar off your mind.
Just as you were truly getting into it you heard Y/F/N gasp before the stranger was pulled away from you.
Chris stood in front of you, his chest heaving as he pushed your dance partner away from the two of you. Your eyes narrowed as Chris muttered something to the guy, who immediately backed off. You huffed and crossed your arms over your chest. As the guy slowly disappeared more into the crowd you noticed Chris’s shoulders relax.
“You have a lot of fucking nerve, Evans.” You hissed as you pushed past him and made your way to the exit, towing Y/F/N behind you.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa there princess. Where the fuck do you think you’re going?” Chris grabbed your other hand.
“I’m gonna go call a car, I’ll be out front.” Y/F/N squeezed your hand before leaving the bar.
“I’m not arguing with you in a bar.” You pulled your hand out of Chris’s.
“Fine, then we can argue at your place.” Chris grabbed your hand again and led you out of the bar.
You found Y/F/N standing outside and once again you got away from Chris and went to her.
“He wants to talk at my place.” You whispered, glancing behind you as Chris stood there waiting with his hands in his pockets. “But you are obviously more important than him, and we were going to have a sleepover. So I’m just gonna tell him to fuck off and then we’ll go, okay?”
“I already called a car to go back to my place.” Y/F/N gently set her hand on your arm. “Figure it out, Y/N. You guys have been going around in circles for too long. I’ll come by to get my stuff tomorrow and you can tell me all about it over mimosas and belgian waffles.”
You pulled her into a tight hug and whispered a thank you in her ear before she got into her Uber. When she pulled away from the curb, Chris came up next to you. You hated that your body reacted whenever he was around. Chris smirked as he took notice of your perked nipples.
“It’s cold, asshole.” You lightly pushed him away from you and then wrapped your arms around yourself.
“Sure.” Chris chuckled. Before you could deny, Chris shrugged off his jacket and slid it around your shoulders. “Can we leave now?”
You nodded as you slipped your arms into the sleeves. You guys decided to walk, seeing that your apartment was only five minutes down the street.
The walk was quiet, the tension palpable. You were still angry and annoyed but at the same time your heart couldn’t help but do backflips at the thought of you being the one with Chris and not that redhead.
Chris’s hand reached for yours and he thread your fingers together as you approached a group of bar goers. You kept telling yourself that it was because he didn’t want to lose you in the crowd but for the rest of the walk your hand was encased in his much larger one.
Kicking off your heels as you stepped inside your apartment you let out a sigh of relief. Heels were cute and you loved them for the first half of the night but the second half, you were ready to throw your pumps out the window.
“Do you want anything?” You asked, getting yourself a glass of water.
“No.” Chris ran his fingers through his hair as his eyes followed your movements. You didn’t listen though and still grabbed him a glass and filled it with the Brita. He smiled to himself. Amazed at your natural caring instinct, even when you were pissed.
You nodded towards the living room and set the waters on your coffee table as you sat down on the couch. You tucked your feet underneath you but regretted it instantly seeing as your feet were still sore.
Without thinking, Chris pulled your feet into his lap and started massaging them. You let out a moan as he worked out the pain, your head falling back and your eyes closed.
“Wanna tell me why you had an attitude at the bar?” Chris’s voice sounded strained as he took in your blissed out appearance.
You shot one eye open and raised an eyebrow. “Are you joking? You completely cock blocked me, you dick.”
“I was doing you a favor.”
“Oh really?” You sat up again, regretfully pulling your feet away from him. “Because it seemed like you were just trying to make sure I didn’t get laid while you had little miss Pippi Longstockings up in your lap the whole night.”
Chris snorted out a laugh. “That’s besides the point.”
“No the fuck it is not. You’re such a misogynistic pig, Chris. So you can screw anything with legs but the second I want to get laid from someone that isn’t you, it’s a problem? Fuck you.”
“Watch your tone with me, princess.” Chris’s nostrils flared. “That’s not what I said.”
“Isn’t it though. You get to have that beautiful woman all over you and I don’t say a word. But then I do the same thing and suddenly it’s a problem? Survey says misogyny, babe.”
Chris grabbed your ankle and pulled you towards him. Your heart and your core throbbed at the action as he leaned over you, one hand resting by your head and the other gripping your waist.
“That girl meant nothing to me. She wouldn’t leave me alone, I was being polite. I didn’t have my tongue down her throat like some slut.”
You winced at his words. You pushed against his chest, but he didn’t budge.
“Fuck you, Chris. I hate you.”
“No you don’t, princess.” Chris leaned down, his mouth attaching to your throat. “You hate me about as much as I hate you.”
You arched your back as Chris kissed that spot that made you lose all inhibitions. Your hands moved from his chest to rest on his back as you tried to grind your hips against his.
“If you went home with that guy,” You could hear the anger in Chris’s voice as he spoke. “He wouldn’t know all the spots that drive you wild. How doing this,” Chris’s hand that was on your waist slipped under your dress and landed on your black lace panties. One finger dipped into your embarrassingly already wet core, slowly pumping in and out. “Isn’t enough to satisfy you.”
Chris’s mouth trailed from your neck, down your chest where he placed kisses across your heaving chest and then down your stomach before ending right above your pussy. With his free hand he pushed your dress up, kissing the newly exposed skin.
“He wouldn’t know that my baby is a dirty girl. That she likes both of her holes played with.”
You moaned as Chris rotated his hand and slowly added a finger to your ass. His lips devoured your thighs as he finally made his way to where you needed him most.
“Oh my god,” You fisted your hands in his hair as his tongue licked a stripe up your core, his fingers never faltering. With his free hand he pushed down against your lower abdomen, creating more pressure and causing you to feel your orgasm sooner.
Chris’s fingers picked up pace as he paid special attention to your bundle of nerves.
“Fuck, babygirl. You always taste so fucking good.” Chris looked up at you from his position and you. “I want you to cum all over my fingers, princess. Can you do that for me?” Chris continued his ministrations as he moved up your body, his free hand slipping under your neck pulling you closer to him.
“Can you cum for daddy?” Chris pressed his lips against yours. You moaned against his mouth as you tasted yourself against his tongue. It was enough to cause your orgasm to rip through your body.
“Fuck!” You pulled away from him, your mouth agape and your eyes never leaving his. Chris’s eyes darkened as he kissed you again. You swallowed his groan as your pussy clenched around his fingers.
Your body went limp as Chris slowly pulled his fingers out of you. Taking the fingers that were covered in you he brought them to your lips. “Open up.”
Without hesitation you opened your mouth, keeping your eyes on him the whole time, as you closed your mouth around his wet fingers. You moaned as you ran your tongue around them. You could already feel yourself becoming wet again. Chris bit his lip as he watched you in adoration, sucking yourself off of his fingers. You pulled out his fingers with a pop and licked your lips looking up at him with that look. The look that would bring Chris to his knees a thousand times over.
Chris gripped your hips and moved so he was sitting and you were straddling his thighs. He felt his dick twitch taking in the sight of you. Your cheeks flushed, your dress in disarray and your lace excuse of underwear, pushed to the side. You looked so hot and it was all his doing. You ground your pussy against his clothed member, taking his mouth with yours.
“Please fuck me,” you whimpered in his ear. “Fuck me how you know I like it.”
You didn’t have to tell him twice. Chris wrapped his arms around you and lifted you up, carrying you to the bedroom.
He threw you down on the bed, wasting no time taking off his tight white t-shirt. The both of you maintained eye contact as you each took off the remainder of the clothing you had on. You crawled over to him, taking him in your hand. You were about to go in when he pushed your head away. You pouted and Chris captured your bottom lip between his teeth.
“I’m kicking myself saying this, but not tonight. I want tonight to be about you, baby.”
“But I want to.”
“No.” Chris gave you a chaste kiss and then flipped you around gripping your hips. You fell onto your forearms as Chris slowly pushed himself inside of you. You clenched around his member as he pushed his thumb against your ass.
“You’re always so goddamn tight. Fucking gripping my cock, baby.” Chris moaned as he pushed himself into the hilt.
Chris stayed there for a moment, not moving. You started to whine and shake your hips as you just wanted him to move. Chris responded with a slap on your ass, causing you to moan out.
“Be patient, honey.” Chris’s hands splayed over your ass as he started to pick up his pace. You tried to move your body in rhythm with his but it soon became impossible as his pace only continued to quicken and you were still shaky from your last orgasm. Chris moaned as he reached in front of you and brought you up to his chest. One hand landed on your breast and the other wrapped securely around your throat.
“Fuck, baby.” Chris’s guttural moan went through your body like an electric shock as he flexed his hand that was against your throat. You moaned as you leaned back into his hard chest, your arm wrapping around his neck, as he pounded into you from behind. He moved his other hand to your aching center, his fingers moving over your clit.
“Cum all over my cock, baby.” Chris growled. “I wanna feel that pussy cum.”
Chris knew exactly what he was doing and exactly what to say to get a reaction out of you. Turning your head you met his lips in a heated kiss of tongue and teeth. Neither of you trying to be delicate.
Before you could process it, Chris had you on your back and was now railing into you in missionary. He slowed down his thrusts and you felt yourself getting more wet as you watched Chris’s eyes follow his member going in and out of you. Smirking to himself, Chris let a drop of spit fall from his mouth and land on your core, where he rubbed it against your clit with his thumb. Your back arched off the bed as the pleasure became overwhelming.
“This is mine,” Chris muttered as he started picking up the pace again. He leaned down, his broad shoulders covering yours as he slammed into you. His hands wound in your hair as he pulled your faces together. “Understand, princess? All mine.”
You nodded but that wasn’t enough for Chris. His fingers tightened in your hair as he pushed his mouth against yours in a bruising fashion.
“Fucking say it.”
“It’s yours!” You cried out as your orgasm approached. “Oh fuck, Chris!”
“Come on, baby.” He brought his body up again, this time bringing your right leg over his shoulder. The angle is the final straw to bring your orgasm home. You both moaned as your pussy milked his cock, Chris’s pace never letting up. “My good girl, cumming on my cock.”
“I want you to cum, daddy.” you whined. Your fingers wrapped around his bicep as he chased his release.
“I’m almost there, princess.” Chris let out between gritted teeth. A few moments later Chris let out a feral groan as his hips stuttered, his cock pulsating inside you. You bit your lip as your stomach fluttered watching Chris come undone.
Pulling out of you slowly, Chris leaned down brushing kisses across your chest and neck. You shuttered as the aftershocks of your orgasm rippled through your body. You let out a shriek as Chris pushed his cum that was seeping out back into you with his fingers, his eyes never leaving yours. He pulled you close for a possessive kiss that you eagerly returned. Pulling away, Chris got up and left the room before coming back with the glasses of water you had left in the living room. Setting them down, he crawled back in bed but this time took you in his arms. You sighed with content as you rested your head on his chest, your fingers playing with the small tufts of hair there.
“I don’t want you seeing other people.” Chris said after a couple moments of silence. Your fingers froze as did your heartbeat it seemed like. You moved so you could look up at him. He ran his fingers through your hair and leaned in and gave you a simple but powerful kiss. “Just you and me from now on, got it?”
“I wouldn’t want it any other way.” You smiled as you laid back down on his chest. You fell asleep like that, your hand on his chest and his arms wrapped tightly around you. Just where they were supposed to be.

Chemistry Read.
Pairing: chris evans x celeb!reader
Summary: You’ve been casted as Chris’ love interest in an upcoming movie he’s not only acting in but directing himself. He calls you over to run lines, but you soon find out he wants to do a little more than that to prepare for filming.
Themes: smut
Word count: 1537
Tumblr media
Your heart is racing as you knock on the door of the upscale LA apartment owned by none other than Chris Evans himself, the director and lead actor of the upcoming movie you’ve been selected to play the female lead in.
You only met him a handful of times. He was there during the casting process, of course, and you had to have a chemistry read with him. You could still remember the way he gazed at you with those perfect blue eyes, as if you were the only girl in the world- he’s dangerous, and you’re reminding yourself of that now as you hear the footsteps approach the front door.
But when he opens it and looks down at you with those rugged features and charming smile, any warning from your conscience is thrown out the window. If this was a cartoon, you would have a puddle of drool at your feet by now. He looks ridiculously handsome in a steel grey henley that fits his muscle just right, a pair of dark jeans, and a Red Sox cap atop his fluffy brown hair.
“Hey,” you greet with a smile, barely tugging on your lower lip with your teeth. “Sorry I’m a little late. LA traffic, you know how it is.”
“Oh, do I.” He scoffs, gesturing for you to come inside. “Just another reason as to why I miss Boston everyday. I mean, sure, we get a little road rage from time to time, but at least we know how to keep it movin’.” He laughs softly and you do too, already feeling at ease despite his intimidatingly good looks. “Thanks for coming here to run lines, though. Can I get ya a drink or anything?”
“Just a water is fine, thanks.” You reply with a smile, unzipping your purse to take your script out. “So, uh, was there any scene in particular you wanted to go over?”
“Honestly, I was thinking we should go over the more intimate scenes.” He answers truthfully, going into the kitchen to retrieve your water from the fridge. “I mean, it’s clear we’re killing it with the light, romantic, sugary sweet stuff, ya know?” He comes back with a small grin, handing you the bottle. “And I hear it’s your first time doing more... explicit scenes in a movie?”
Your heart is beating faster solely from the thought of doing anything explicit with Chris, but you force yourself to look composed, smiling slightly. “To be honest, this movie has a lot of firsts for me. I’m more used to modeling than acting, but I’m so grateful to have this chance. I’ve wanted to be an actress ever since I was little.”
“That’s right, that’s right,” Chris nods, and you swear you notice his pacific hues rake over your body. “I remember seeing your pictures during casting. You mainly model lingerie, right?” He smiles, head tilting slightly. “So you’ll probably already feel more comfortable in front of the camera in... well, next to nothing.” He laughs, but you don’t miss the way he bites his lip, the sight in itself making you feel thirsty for more than just water.
Did he really call you here just to run lines?
“Yeah, I’m pretty used to it.” You answer, your voice a little softer than before as your mind begins plotting. After taking a sip of the water, you set it down on the table. “But it’s not just about the camera, right? It’s also important to be comfortable with the person you’re working with.” You look up at him innocently, barely raising an eyebrow. “So maybe we should really get into character, huh?”
Chris blinks, but the corner of his lips tug upwards ever-so-slightly into a tiny smirk as he looks at you with intrigue and curiosity. “What exactly were you thinking?”
You pick up the script again, flipping to the right page. “Well, for instance,” you answer nonchalantly, “there’s a scene where our characters are making out- but we’re both naked, because we just went skinny dipping.”
Chris’ smirk is getting slightly wider as he walks backwards, sitting down on the couch with his jean clad legs barely spread, his thick thighs looking more welcoming than ever as if waiting for you to sit upon them. “Right. So what are you proposing here?”
You bite your lip as you admire his manly stature before placing the script down, taking hold of the hem of your tank top and pulling it up over your head. You’re making a bold move here, but Hollywood likes bold. And from the way Chris is staring at you in complete awe and hunger, it appears he likes bold too. You’re not done yet, though- you reach behind to unhook your bra, letting it drop to the floor. His blue-green eyes widen slightly before a husky curse escapes from under his breath, his large hands immediately reaching to yank his own shirt off, his hat falling off with it. “C’mere,” he mutters hastily, reaching out to grab your hips and pull you to his lap, eliciting a delighted squeal from your lips.
“I don’t think that’s how the script goes,” you barely have time to tease before he pulls you in for a kiss, his hand wrapped around the back of your neck with his fingers tangled in your hair.
He chuckles darkly in between steamy kisses, moving his other hand up to squeeze and grope your breasts as if practically worshiping them. “You said we should get comfortable with each other first, right? I think that’s exactly what we’re doing here...”
You can’t help but hum and whimper in satisfaction as he plays with your breasts, your hands moving up so you can run your fingers through his hair as you continue your heated make out session. It isn’t long before you find his belt, unbuckling it and tossing it aside, lifting your hips so both of you can remove your pants and underwear.
“Did you actually intend on running lines, Chris?” you ask with a breathless giggle, curling your fingers around his thick shaft as you rub it up and down.
He lets out a deep and guttural groan, tilting his head back while he bucks his hips slightly. “I... really did want to, for at least a little bit... but... fuck,” he’s practically panting, teeth tugging at his lip harshly from the enjoyment your hand is giving him, “Ever since we first cast you, and since I saw your pictures... shit, I needed you. You’re the hottest girl I’ve ever fuckin’ seen...”
“Little ol’ me?” you whisper, rubbing faster and enjoying the pleasured expressions twisting his handsome face. “Well, I’m flattered, seeing how many A-listers you know...”
“Shit, baby.” He growls, giving you an urgent look of desperation. “I need to be inside you right fuckin’ now.”
As much as you want to tease, you’re only torturing yourself here. You look around, breathing out, “Do you have a-”
“First drawer,” he immediately answers, nodding towards the chest beside the couch. You giggle slightly and lean over, opening it and taking out a condom, removing the wrapper and slowly sliding it along his impressive shaft.
“You’re so big,” you murmur, lifting your hips and teasing him by rubbing your wet core against his tip. “You’re going to stretch me out so much...”
“Fuck,” he groans, gripping your waist, “I can’t wait, baby girl.”
You sink yourself down onto his swollen head, a moan erupting from your throat as you grip his biceps tightly, eyes closing as you feel him already enter deep inside you. “Holy... holy fuck, Chris...!”
He smirks breathlessly as he watches you bounce on his cock, his massive hands supporting your waist and helping you move as well, his chest heaving with his breaths. “Shit, it’s like your pussy was fuckin’ made for me, honey. You feel so goddamn good!”
Your moans grow louder as his hands find your ass, squeezing and groping and smacking every chance he gets. You can’t help but marvel over the beautiful sight underneath you, from his perfect facial hair, lust filled blue eyes, huge arms, and toned abdomen. You arch your back to get a better angle, leaning forward as your breasts bounce right under his nose- he gladly begins to kiss and suck on them as he thrusts himself upwards, wanting to fill you up as much as he possibly can.
“Fuck....! Chris, I’m gonna....”
“Me too, baby, holy fuck, me too!”
You both find your release, your mouth open as you practically gasp for breath, running a hand through your slightly dampened hair as you slowly lift yourself off him. He helps you steady yourself before removing the condom, walking away to dispose of it- you can’t help but stare at his beautiful frame, eyes lingering over the chiseled muscle of his back and dropping to his infamous nude ass. You lean back against the couch, trying to catch your breath again.
He comes back and chuckles, picking up your water bottle and handing it to you, shaking the sweat out of his brown hair. “You know, I think this was way more productive than any chemistry read or rehearsal I’ve ever had...”

(e/n): ex name
Y/n couldn’t remember exactly when she fell for Chris. Maybe it was the first time she met him. That day she remembered very clearly.
Upon Scott’s insistence (y/n) travelled to Boston from LA where she was staying with Scott. She met Scott through work and both soon became inseparable. She knew how close Scott was to his family mostly because he never gave up talking about how much he missed them. So it didn’t come as a surprise to her when her friend kept bouncing on the seat with anticipation throughout the flight.
After a seven hours journey and multiple flight movies later they had arrived at Lisa Evans’ home in Boston. She was just as warm and amicable as (y/n) had imagined. The absence of ruth and 100 watt smile was something you were sure she passed down to her kids.
As expected the the house was filled with accquitances and family. Laughter and endless conversations were flowing. Hours passed and (y/n) felt like she had shaken more hands and hugged more people than she was usually used to. By the end of the day as much as she hated to admit it she had forgotten most of the names of Scott’s friends’ and extended family and all their stories began sounding much the same. She didn’t remember a lot but she remembered him. She remembered Chris.
An unsuspecting Scott was suddenly tackled by a larger man as the two of them stood by Shana and Carly. She heard the laughter before she saw his face.
“Chris stop it. Get off me you jerk!” Scott tried to push his brother away who had now held the younger man in a headlock.
“You’ve gone weak Scott. Need to work out more instead of being lazy.” Chris said through his laugh. Beside (y/n) the sisters both shook their heads and walked away as if understanding that their request of asking their brothers to act like mature adults would only fall on deaf ears.
“Well not all of us are Captain America.” Scott broke free from his brother's onslaught and shoved him jokingly. This made Chris laugh harder and she remembered looking at him in that moment. Like really looking at him!
His head thrown back, a hand on his pec. His eyes covered with glasses and a cap with a big B on the front. As much as she wouldn’t admit it to anyone (y/n) also remembered ogling at the way his shirt seemed to hug his muscles almost as if it could tear with any more movement. She also remembered a voice in her head silently praying for that to happen.
Scott talked about his brother quite often. He had once asked (y/n) if she’d be open to dating him. At that she had choked on her coffee and almost given poor Scott a fright. After that he momentarily stopped his match making gambit. And the reason behind that was that Chris was taken or “it’s some on again off again thing” according to Scott. But right before they arrived in Boston, Scott had commented “they’re done for good and he is better off without her”, when (y/n) had asked if Chris would be there too. And better off he was!
(y/n) remembered Scott introducing them. She remembered Scott’s poor attempt at setting the two of them up. She remembered calling the younger man out for his lack of skills at playing Cupid and she definitely remembered a boisterous laugh leaving Chris’ incredibly inviting lips. She remembered feeling proud that yes! She made Chris Evans laugh. However, she failed to remember protecting her own heart from falling for Chris.
(Y/n) was fairly certain she developed feelings for Chris that day. Or maybe it was when he told her he’d like to get to know her better at the end of the day. Or maybe it was when he travelled to New York on her birthday in the middle of the night because she had casually mentioned she didn’t want to be alone on that day.  Or maybe it was how caring, patient and  perceptive he was. He always took care of her. In the short time they spent together he soon became a confidante, a pillar and a shoulder to lean on on her darkest days.
So when he stood in front of her right now with red rimmed eyes and a tear stained face she didn't know what to do. The roles were reversed and she could only stare at him.
As if sensing her uncertainty Chris said softly, “I didn’t know where else to go.”
“Christopher. Come in!” she opened the door wider letting him enter. He made a beeline to the couch and held the yellow throw pillow closer to his chest. He looked so small and so broken. She was scared to reach out and touch him worried she would break him with the slightest touch.
“I am sorry.” His hoarse voice broke her out of her rivière.
“What are you sorry for?” (y/n) took the chance and reached out to him. He didn't move. She didn't pull back.
“I am sorry I came over unannounced.” He sniffled, wiping his nose on the back of his sleeve.
“Christopher you never have to apologize to me. I am always here for you, remember that!” Chris smiled a little. Whenever (y/n) called him ‘Christopher’ it made him smile. Or maybe it was just being with her that made him happier. But right now even her hand over his couldn't take the weight off his shoulders. A sob suddenly raked through his body as he felt the wave of melancholy wash over him again. (y/n) was taken aback as Chris slouched further, his head now on her lap. She rubbed his back hoping to make the broken man feel better.
“Christopher, bub you have to talk to me.” she shifted a little so he could lie down more comfortably.
“(e/n) called me last night.” Chris said in a low voice.
(Y/n) straightened up a little bit. Before he could even say anything else (y/n) had already began plotting ways to murder her. How could she hurt him? How could she hurt the man (y/n) loved...as a friend obviously!
“What did she say?” (y/n) looked at Chris who was now sitting up. His cheeks were wet with tears and all (y/n) wanted was to grab his face and plant small kisses all over his face till he felt better.
“She...uh...she said i would regret breaking up with her and that no one would want to be with me because i am getting older and no one will put up with me and i will crawl back to her.” By the time he was done he had moved away from (y/n) and if that wasn't indication enough the redness spreading across his ears and cheeks told her how embarrassed he was. He had curled up on the other end of the sofa, his breathing labored, hands wriggling together. In the time that they had been friends, (y/n) had learnt to read his body language a bit. She knew he was about to have an attack.
In an instant she was kneeling in front of him.
“Okay listen to me. Everything that she said was wrong. It's all lies. She is trying to get in your head and mess with you. Christopher, you're a wonderful man. You are so kind, you're loving. You're incredibly talented and hard working. You are giving and you love so completely and so deeply and any woman in this world would be lucky to be with you.” (y/n) held his hand in hers.
“You’re a good man in a bad situation. This isn’t your fault. You have a good heart. And I promise you that this feeling of despair is fleeting. It will go away and till that time comes I am here. I am not going anywhere and we can move through this together.” Had it not been for her words that left him tongue tied or his erratic heart beats that stopped him from thinking Chris wouldve told (y/n) how much he loved her in that moment. But for now he settled for a soft smile. (Y/n) mirrored it.
As he breathing evened out he slid down to the floor to sit in front of (y/n). He leaned closer and so did (y/n). Their foreheads now touching. Eyes downcast. Fingers brushing just shy from completely intertwining. Heart beating in a synced rhythm like a sweet symphony. She didn't look up and neither did he afraid that their eyes might speak the words they were hesitant to.
(y/n) couldn’t remember when she fell for Chris but she knew that with every passing day she was only falling deeper...

Child’s Play - Chris Evans x reader
Tumblr media
a/n- Hey lovely people! the movie in this is completely made up with excessive use of random plot/name generators lol. also, the Melissa I mention is Melissa Fumero who I love and plays Amy on Brooklyn 99, and Anthony is Mackie who we all know and love. Enjoy! <3
Summary: You’re a director and you finally got to direct your husband chris in a movie. Now you just need to get through the press tour...
Word Count: ~1,780
Warnings: none that i’m aware of
You stepped out onto the stage when the interviewer called your name, waving at the crowd which was cheering and clapping.
"And without further ado, let's give a round of applause to Captain America himself, Chris Evans!"
Chris lightly stepped onto the stage, waving at the screaming fans as he took his place next to you. He reached out and squeezed your hand in his, and you returned a squeeze. You both tended to get nervous at these press panels and interviews, even if this one was one you were lucky enough to do together.
"It's so great to have you all here today! The entire cast of the hit movie The Invisible Lights!" the interviewer started and the crowd applauded once more. "First off, I want to start with a question for Chris," she said. He smiled and nodded at her to continue. "Your character in this movie, William Brown, is a sorcerer, but in a casual way, that's like his thing. For you, who, I believe, have never played a character with outright magic powers before, how hard was it to find a window and relate to him?"
"Yeah, it was actually kinda easy, even easier than some other characters I've played, because—"
"He's a wizard guys, it's not that complicated," you cut in and Chris laughed.
"Almost," he says and smiles, "but what I was gonna say before my lovely wife here interrupted me," you made a kissy face at him and he chuckled once more, "was that Will is actually just a nice guy, he experiences everything with the same compassion and excitement and fears just like us normal human beings do, and magic is just a cool bonus to that. So no, I wouldn't say relating to him was any more challenging than to any other character."
"Thank you, Chris, that was a great answer," the interviewer smiled. "Now Melissa, I actually have a question for you too," she turned to her, "we all know and love you as Amy Santiago, who is a very comedic character, so what drove you towards this part of Nancy, who's just a normal person who's trying to do her job and doesn't get to make as many jokes in this movie as other characters do?"
"Well, I think Amy and Nancy are similar in a lot of ways, you know, they're both very dedicated to their job and are very rational women, but what drew me to this was actually the differences between them. Nancy is less type A, she's a bit more unsure of herself and is more of a "normal person" whereas Amy is more the "nerd" type. Getting to play someone like that just appealed to me a lot."
The interviewer asked you a question next. "So how was directing this movie for you? What's it like directing your husband in a movie?" the audience cheers a little at that.
"Well, I gotta say it's one of the most fun sets I've been on, and not only because Chris was there," you smiled. "I was obviously a huge fan of Melissa and I was stoked she could do this movie with us, and really the whole set was very upbeat and just fun, especially the scenes we shot with the kids, who were lovely. The lead actor was… a bit much honestly. He's just…" you shook your head, sighing, and Chris laughed. "He's just too handsome for his own good. It's terrible really," you laughed.
"No, but honestly, working with him was so much fun. I've always known the talent he has, but being able to really witness it firsthand and going through the whole process of making a character and a movie with him was wonderful. "
The crowd "awwww" ed at that and the interviewer continued. "Would you say directing him was harder or easier than someone else, someone you don't necessarily know?"
"Listen, directing Chris… well, it's not that different than what I do every day," you shrugged and turned to Chris, "you do need a lot of chaperoning babe," you smiled. He laughed and reached for his chest like he always does. The crowd laughed as well and you gave a little giggle as well.
"It's true," Chris smiles and says, "she's always like, 'Chris do the dishes,' and 'Isn't it your turn to walk Dodge today?'"
"That is not true Christopher!" you put your hand to your chest as if offended. "Besides, that was a terrible impression of me, I can't believe you do this for a living!" you threw your hands up and shook your head in disbelief and you all laughed.
"Um, but to give a more serious answer," you turned to the interviewer once more, "I think in every movie you direct, you get to form a connection with the people you direct. The fact that Chris and I already have that connection is both a blessing and a curse because on the one hand, we're more comfortable trying new things and taking risks, but on the other hand that means it's easier for us to get off track and just kinda goof around instead of doing our jobs," you chuckled. "But I do think we handled it pretty well," you smiled.
"Well that leads me to my next question, which is for the rest of the cast who aren't you and Chris," the interviewer smiled, "how did they do with keeping it professional on set?"
Everyone laughed and you and Chris smiled at each other.
"Terrible," said Anthony, who played David, a police officer in the movie who was good friends with Chris' character. "Well, no, when we were shooting the actual scenes, they were fine, but every single break we had, these two-" he looked over at Chris and you, "look at them! They're making heart eyes at each other right now!" he rolled his eyes.
You and Chris looked away from each other and smiled while the crowd cheered a little.
"I think we were totally fine," said Chris while he took your hand in his.
"Well, I guess they weren't that bad," Melissa said.
"I have one more question for you guys and then we're gonna take some fan questions. So, what was it like working with the kids on set?"
"They were really cute," Melissa said, "so I had a lot of fun working with them," she shrugs and smiles.
"Speak for yourself," you said. "Well, okay, they were very cute and it really was a blast having them on set. We basically said for people who have relatives who were about the age we looked for that they should bring them because we needed a whole class. So my niece was there, Chris' niece and nephew, Mel's kid… we had a lot of fun, but in terms of production time, kids are kind of difficult. Not to say it's the kids who were there, because they were truly lovely and it's like that with all kids. So yeah, working with them was a really good time but also cost quite a bit of time and we already were short on time, so it was definitely a challenge."
You all took some questions from the audience and then the interviewer said, "Alright guys, we have time for one last question, who's next?"
A girl who was a bit younger than you came up to the microphone. "Hi! First of all, can I just say I'm such a big fan of all of you guys," she seemed nervous and you all smiled at her. "So, my question is a spin on an earlier question and it's for Chris – You've spoken a lot in the past about the importance of a strong-willed director to really bring in the movie nicely, so how was it having your wife direct you in a movie?"
"Wow, you're really setting me up to fail here, aren't you?" he laughed and you turned to look at him, an interested look in your eyes.
"Sure, well, I really can't say enough good things about her. Both as a director and just as a person, she's got a real talent of making people feel very comfortable and that definitely comes in handy on a movie set. She knows really well when she wants to listen and get ideas from us and when she needs to steer the ship herself a bit more, and I think I'm speaking for everyone here when I say that with her, the vibe on set is always a good one. She's very attentive to things that I would've never thought about that really make the movie what it is and she's very capable of standing at the helm of a movie and saying 'okay, this is what needs to happen and this is how we're gonna do it.' If I already thought the world of her before making a movie with her, I can't really tell you how much I admire her now. It's an embarrassment of riches really," he smiled at you and you returned it.
The audience "awwww"s once more. "Anything else you'll be making soon?" someone shouts suddenly. Everyone on stage laughs, but the interviewer starts talking so you don't have to answer the question.
"Sadly, that's all the time we've got, so give it up for the cast of The Invisible Lights! It was a pleasure having you here today, thank you so much!"
You all got up and waved at the audience before walking off stage.
When you left the stage, Chris came up behind you, circling his arms around you and splaying his palms on your belly.
"That was a close call," he said softly in your ear.
You hummed and leaned back into him. "Yeah, we're lucky the bump isn't visible yet," you smiled and craned your neck in order to kiss him properly.
"You know if it gets too hard, we can cut the press tour short right?" Chris says, looking at you with a worried gaze.
"If you keep saying that after every interview I'm gonna start thinking you don't want to be here," you laughed. "It's fine, really," you reassured him.
"Okay," he smiles and leans down to kiss you once more.
"Hey lovebirds! Didn't we just agree you were professional? Don't ruin that image!" Anthony yelled at you. The rest of the group has already continued, leaving you a little behind.
"Coming!" you both yelled and laughed.
"Can you believe in seven months we're gonna have the most perfect kid on this planet?" Chris asked while he moved to stand next to you and take your hand.
You simply beamed and squeezed his hand in yours. You couldn't wait.

You're right, George is more than his abs, but why would he need to be nearly naked the entire movie though? "some characters briefly objectify George but the *film* does not treat George as an object." Ok, but why THIS distinction never made when talking about the male gaze? What I mean is, how is objectifying George any less sexist than Megan Fox's character in Transformers? They both have character beyond looks and both subvert gender tropes.
Why would he need to be nearly naked the entire movie though?
It is obtuse of you to pretend that George of the Jungle is not clearly a children’s comedy interpretation of Tarzan. That’s it. That’s the joke. Me Tarzan, You Jane. Me Handsome Strong Jungle Man, You Smart City Lady. When George makes it to the city he looks pretty darn good in Armani and happily wears a dress because it’s comfortable. When he’s in the jungle he’s dressed like Tarzan because this movie is based on a cartoon that is a children’s comedy interpretation of Tarzan.
It’s not like there’s a rash of criticism of Blue Crush for featuring women in swimsuits or Bring it On for putting girls in short skirts because in the context of the films swimsuits and short skirts are relevant and appropriate. There HAS, however, been a lot of mockery and some serious criticism of Marvel for putting Chris Evans in uncomfortably tight clothing with no purpose other than showcasing his body. “Steve Rogers can’t buy clothes that fit and all of his shirts are too tight” is actually a major fanfic trope because of that.
"some characters briefly objectify George but the *film* does not treat George as an object." Ok, but why THIS distinction never made when talking about the male gaze?
It is. Constantly. It’s the second sentence of the Wikipedia entry on “Male Gaze.” That’s a constant feature of academic media criticism. Here, have a video about how the framing and direction of Michael Bay in Transformers objectifies Megan Fox in a way that the film’s script does not:
undefined
youtube
That’s a whole video about that distinction.
Fox’s character in the first Transformers film was written as a hypercompetent, intelligent, complex woman. People remember the character as tits and ass because that’s what the camera reduced her to.
Think about Ellen Ripley.
Did you think about her in a Powerloader? Did you think about her holding a flame thrower? Did you think about her in her jumpsuit calmly trying to enforce quarantine and protect the entire ship?
You probably, on reading the name “Ellen Ripley” did not think about her like this:
Tumblr media
[Image description: Ellen Ripley wearing revealing underwear in front of a bunch of computer consoles and pipes; if you look very closely it is possible to see that the pipe behind her is not a pipe but is actually the alien Xenomorph curled up and camouflaged by the console]
The underwear scene stands out in Alien. It’s unusual, given the way that Ripley has been framed in the rest of the film. In the underwear scene Ridley Scott uses the framing of Ellen Ripley as a sexual object to 1) distract the viewer from seeing the xenomorph that is right behind her and 2) increase the character’s vulnerability to ratchet up tension in the film’s climactic scene.
This is an example of the director taking advantage of cinematic language to use the audience’s gaze against them and it is very well done.
That is very different than the way that Fox’s character (Michaela? I think? Someone who is so objectified that it is difficult to remember her name in spite of the fact that “Sam Witwicky” is almost obnoxiously hard to forget) is sexualized and objectified in Transformers.
But even Bay makes use of this! WHILE he is busy objectifying Fox as a director we also see the way her character is the subject of Sam’s gaze and the audience is STILL set up to be sympathetic to Sam because we’ve seen Michaela’s boyfriend objectifying her in a much more overt way than Sam does.
What I mean is, how is objectifying George any less sexist than Megan Fox's character in Transformers? They both have character beyond looks and both subvert gender tropes.
I mean, aside from the fact that I’ve already made the distinction that while some characters in GotJ objectify George the FILM does not, you know that just saying “This person is really hot!” isn’t itself objectifying, right? Michaela is a sexy prize that Sam is trying to win throughout the first Transformers film, George is a person who Ursula meets and takes on an adventure to the city and she gets to know and appreciate him as a *person* beyond his novelty as a “find” on her jungle excursion.
If Ursula spent the entire film attempting to seduce George by being sexy and ignored his wants and needs because he was just a dumb jungle man then yeah, it would be ALMOST as sexist as Bay is against his male characters. (Transformers goes hard as fuck at reinforcing “appropriate” gender roles and punishing characters who don’t live up to them and it is arguably more interested in gender policing its male characters than its female characters)
But you are asking me “isn’t this movie that you have repeatedly praised for modeling healthy masculinity sexist against men” and no? It’s not?
The fact that someone is naked and attractive is not in and of itself sexist.  A major, major part of the plot of GotJ is people (and the audience!) seeing that George is more than the silly beefcake they initially mistook him for and I think you’re missing the fact that most films that feminists criticize as sexist have female characters who are naked and attractive and have very few memorable traits beyond being naked and attractive and fawning over the protagonist.
Who here remembered that Michaela’s dad was a felon and that she has a record for refusing to testify against him? You probably remembered that she’s good at cars because Transformers is a movie about cars and there are at least two scenes where people expect Michaela to be bad at cars and she isn’t. So. Okay. Michaela is good at cars. DOES THIS EVER HAVE ANY IMPACT ON THE PLOT? She hotwires a truck in the climactic fight scene and it is window dressing as the background for Sam to make his heroic sacrifice. If you replace Michaela with a sexy lamp is the film any different? It wouldn’t stop Sam from being the target of the Decepticons, wouldn’t change the fact that Sam gets Bumblebee, wouldn’t change the conflict with the government, and wouldn’t change anything in the final battle. Michaela exists to be a sexy lamp for Sam to kiss after he’s won the movie.
If you make George a sexy lamp you don’t have a movie. Now! Obviously Michaela is not the protagonist of Transformers and George IS the protagonist of the movie made about him so it’s not a one to one comparison, but “could you edit this character out without it having a significant impact on the plot of the film” is a pretty decent test as to whether the film treats the character as a Person or as a Decoration.
Michaela is good at cars. She exits the Transformers series by getting cheated on after spending a movie trying to trap Sam into proposing. This is not the gender subversion that you’re claiming it is.
Michaela deserved a better movie than Transformers and Megan Fox deserved better than working with Michael Bay.

Extinction (Sebastian Stan x You)
Tumblr media
Character: Sebastian Stan x Reader
Summary: The world was suffering from a zombie apocalypse. You fell off the train, everybody thought you were dead but turns out you survived from the fall and came back to try and heal your angered, broken heart but with vengeance.
Warning: This probably sucks? Other than that, none. XD
Words: 2,940
A/N: Inspired by the movie Resident Evil. (Love that movie so bad!) But the whole story isn't based on it. I made my own plot. I just took some characters from the game. 😊 I didn't even know how I ended up typing this? Feedbacks are very much appreciated! Aaaaaaaaaah! I’ve made a zombie apocalypse one for Chris Evans as well. Entitled ‘Barely Alive’ and it currently has two parts. Link is right under this author’s note.
BARELY ALIVE (CHRIS EVANS X YOU) (1ST PART)
Disclaimer: GIF and pictures used are not mine, only the edits are and the whole book of course.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everybody was huffing once they've stepped foot on the train, each one completely exhausted from the zombie-human chase that has happened with your group of people who was safe from the infection. The faces of the other group who had been in the train looked relieved that there was still survivors, people who were the same as them, and deep down in your hearts all of you know there were more. Faith was all you were holding on to, the faith to live and stay alive.
There's nothing wrong in having faith, it makes each person stronger. You know everybody who was stepping on the same train as you were strong individuals, people who are striving to stay alive with the world crumbling apart because of the apocalypse.
"This is our train," A shaggy, greasy, long haired man spat, those dark hues filled with fear, overthinking that your group plans on taking the train away from them. You stepped back apprehensively, avoiding the man's rude attitude as Chris (Evans) decided to handle the whole situation since you weren't good at talking to ill-mannered people.
"We won't take your train, we just needed a lift to Arcadia,"  He calmly spoke to the man, hoping he would cooperate and understand the situation at hand. The man still looked agitated by your entrance, his spot was suddenly taken when the leader of their group named Jill stepped in front of him, standing tall and intimidating. Her face slightly tainted by the mixture of dirt, sweat and blood, eyes holding no emotions. "We're headed there, you guys got lucky this time," She slightly smiled, a smile that didn't reach her eyes. You were quick to read the sadness behind those eyes of hers, it was the hint of grief that some of their people have been taken by the infected.
Your eyes scanned your small group of people, Robert's there..Jeremy, Anthony, Paul, Elizabeth, Aaron, Scarlett, basically the whole Marvel cast with their families and the DC cast included. You were the only person whose family was taken away from the Umbrella Corporation. A stranger in a group of famous people, and the only normal human who had survived. You didn't know why your family were the only one who was taken when the others were given as a bait for the dead and only were the only one who had survived from their harsh abduction.
Those dazzling blue eyes you've grown to love landed on yours, a look that says he was relieved you were still standing before him, alive and kicking with no wounds nor scratches. You were all lucky enough to have outrun them this time. Sebastian was quick to engulf you in his arms, hugging you off your feet as you knotted your arms around his neck, hiding your face in between his shoulder, feeling tears forming in your eyes. You were scared for your life and what future does it hold for you both and for everyone. "Shhh," Your lover sweetly hushed, giving your back gentle caresses. You heard him sniff and instantly you knew he was feeling the same way as you.
"We'll survive this apocalypse, we just gotta stick together, Y/N." Everybody was now hugging their loved ones. frightened for what was about to come. Sebastian unwrapped his arms around you, taking your face in his pretty, large hands. It felt soft and slight calloused all together, his eyes looked down on you lovingly, pupils blown in affection, "I love you, we'll stick together until the end..and I'll love you till my last breath, please don't think about giving up,"
Everybody was hugging each other, except from one person who despised you the most when you came into Sebastian's life..Her name was Valentine/Meredith. She was Sebastian's ex-girlfriend, he loves you more than anything in the world, he did everything he didn't do for her, he became the best lover that Y/N dreamed of. A dream that was once wished by Valentine/Meredith. The expected jealousy was bubbled up inside of her, resulting it to turn bigger, rotting  till she couldn't handle anymore.
She did rot. Even though she wasn't a Zombie, the jealousy inside of her began to rot till she did the most malintent thing she ever done in her life.
"N-No! S-Stop!" You groaned and choked around the hand that was tightly wrapped around your neck. Your hands wrapped on the edges of the opened train door, grasping for dear life. You could hear the high-pitched whistle of the air, tempting to try and suck you out of the train.
Your face was beginning to turn paler as each second passes by, lungs starting to desperately heave for some air. Yet, the stranger who had your neck around his large hand appeared to plan on choking till you could see the other side of the world. Death.
"It was you! You and your psychopathic family started this apocalypse!" He shouted, brown eyes glowing with ire.
"T-Those are lies!!!" Your voice croaked, desperately trying to unlatch the stranger's hand--lets name him Will since you've heard Jill talk to the bulky, bald man a while ago-- He didn't stop though, he was triggered to tighten his hold. Sucking the air out of your lungs, "I-I have nothing to do with my father's scientific profession! I know nothing!!"
"LIES! Valentine/Meredith told me every secret you held! Your family was taken by the Umbrella Corporation! You're fucking connected to those son of a bitches!" He spat aloud. You desperately scanned your surroundings. Nobody was around, it was just you, him and an empty train.
Y/N just had to take a piss when suddenly she was pulled by the huge guy who gripped her by the hair so hard, locking them up in the other side of a train where people weren't around. Sebastian was in a group meeting with the others, talking about some plans when your bladder decided to burst in the wrong time.
You couldn't help stop nature.
"You're the fucking antidote that they needed! Your blood is the medicine and answer to this nightmare!" His fingers began to tighten more, leaving no air to enter your throat, making your face turn paler and bluer as each damned second passed by. Your vision was beginning to turn hazy and everything was spinning around.
"The Umbrella corporation will come back and get you! We can't afford another death in our group and even with yours! You're the one who deserves to die! You deserve to get found and get experimented!"
Half of your feet were dangling on the edge of the train. Your heart accelerating as fast as how the train was going. The heavy, harsh wind slapping your face, telling you that you were about to die any moment. Will was forcefully pushing you back, his eyes glowing with feral anger. Only one train of thought running in his mind. He needed the kill.
"S-Somebody! Help! Sebastian!" You desperately breathed, clawing at his hands harsher, but it seemed too feeble to unlatch as you were slowly getting vincible, your strength slowly faltering.
Your bulging eyes hastily searched for any person who could help you. Will was a pretty large person and you..you were small, frail and stiff. Fighting him off would just be a waste of energy because you know you were no match with him.
However, that tiny faith in you screamed to fight him. Use those techniques you see in the movies. There was no harm in trying, and so you did.
Will was a big guy, but he's surely an idiot for bringing you close and breathing in your face because the world just turned upside down and  you've immediately gotten the upper hand when you reached up and roughly pressed his eyes, emitting a guttural scream from the large man. He released your throat, clutching onto his stingy eyes as he moved aside and you've gotten the chance to run, sprinting on the way to the door in haste.
All the pieces of your heart fell apart when a very unbelievable scene unfolded behind the clear train door. An imaginary hand crawling up to your chest, giving it a tight squeeze, making the ache unbearable to handle.
Why? Because Sebastian was fucking kissing Valentine/Meredith.
The pain in your throat came back, but it wasn't because you were being choked again. You could feel your heart sting so bad as Sebastian stood in front of her, his back on you and Valentine's/Meredith's face that you wanted to stab a million times. She was a bitch indeed.
You tightened your palms in either side of you, forgetting the fact that you were in the middle of getting choked to death and thrown outside the train. Your heart was palpitating with different kinds of reason. Anger, pain, jealousy and fear.
Your hand was about to grab the lock, yet you were left banging a hand on the clear door once you felt Will's hand painfully pulling at your roots, yelling a scream that caught everyone's attention at the other side of the door.
Sebastian was utterly frozen in spot when the woman who he held no feelings stood on her tiptoes and pressed a disgusting kiss on his lips, having no shame that everybody was around but were busy talking except from one of his friend named Mackie who clearly bulged his eyes out when she maliciously kissed him in front of them.
She was a damn, hard headed vixen who didn't care about her dignity and had no shame.
Unfortunately, you didn't see Sebastian push her off, reacting with such hostility that made her regret what she did. "What the fuck, Valentine/Meredith?! What the hell's wrong with you?!"
Then he heard a heart stopping scream.
A scream that came from you.
He was fast to turn around, scared of what happened to the love of his life. Yet, he was too late.
Y/N had already fell off the train.
It was that exact moment he knew that his heart would never forgive himself because you were gone.
Just like that, and he won't ever forget to cry every night, mourning for his dying heart.

6 months after:
"You sure there's still survivors in here?" Claire Redfield asked in a hushed whisper, an American special police officer who was the leader of your group. The sweet-smelling, woody scent of pine trees breezed around all four of you as you stood below a huge, beige Meditteranean house that looked untouched and placid. The house looking clear from the infected.
The four of you decided to check the house, Leon claiming that he saw somebody run from behind the back garden. You didn't know what got into you, but you automatically stood up from your seat of the bus and volunteered to come. Claire didn't hesitate for you to join with them since she knew how trained you are. She knew how tough you got from all the training and sparring you did with her. You weren't the softy that everyone knew before, you were trained to fight and be strong for the better of your future, putting aside those tears and feelings on the ground.
You've changed, you're trying to change and it was for the better. You hoped in the back of your mind.
There were still a lot of survivors inside the bus, currently waiting for what was about to come and anticipating who or what was inside the mansion. All of you stood still as you nervously stand on the porch. Leon was picking on the lock of the door knob, a tiny, faded click signalling everyone that he finally had it open.
"Positive, Claire." You whispered, keeping the gun back in your holster, hiding behind Leon. He wrenched the door knob opened, Eerie silence welcomed you, alerting everyone's senses. You took light steps while parading in, your boots sounding so quiet and theirs as well.
"How sure are you, Y/N?"
You kept your mouth shut, you didn't know how you were sure. It was what your heart could feel, and in the vague point of your mind, a tiny voice was yelling that there was someone in there and despite of your fragmented heart, you hoped it was someone you knew. Someone you loved, and a certain person who broke your heart. Leaving nothing but anger inside your shattered soul.
You fixed your crouching postures once your team stopped inside a circle of a marbled, black floor. The ceiling was too high to reach, a very lavish chandelier dangling on top of your heads. Your hearts skipped a beat when you heard faded foot steps echoing around.
"I am strangling you alive when we're compromised, Y/N!" Leon whisper-yelled. Leaving Claire's question unanswered. You felt a ball stuck in your throat as your eyes skimmed around the mansion, your heart skipping a beat from nervousness, anticipating for what or who was living inside the place.
Everybody heard an ear-wrecking creak, your eyes roamed from left to right, the sound continuously perceptible. "Something's going to fall," Leon uttered, senses on full alert. The creaking sound stopping just as all your breaths did and with a quick clang, everybody knew it was the chandelier falling.
Everybody ducked, rolled and maneuvered away from the circle, leaving you alone and distracted by the hushed whispers echoing inside a certain room from the second floor, seeing a silhouette disappearing in the shadows. Your hands were trembling, breath stopping and eyes focused on the falling chandelier above you. Is that how it all ends for you? To get killed by a huge chandelier falling on your head?
"Y/N!" Your team screamed for your name, your feet were rooted on the ground, trying to accept the fate of your death. Your foot trembled once you took a step back, was it all too late?
Then, you felt a body harshly pushing you away. Your body landing on the floor with a loud and painful thud, your head hitting the floor, the world spun around you like a whirlpool. Darkness hugging you for a moment or so until you realized a warm body was hovering above you, coughing out the dust that was flying all around.
With a blink of an eye, you were met with the prettiest blue eyes you've ever seen, the eyes of the man you had ever loved with all your heart, and the only man who have crushed your heart into pieces from the moment your life changed when you fell on that train all the way to Arcadia.
"Y/N??"
His Steele blue eyes turned duller, losing it's glimmer. Earning dark eye bags underneath his feature that you loved the most. The color of his face lost a ton, making him look less happy with his life.
The man above you was like a different man and you were in shock. Completely flabbergasted with your mouth ajar, you've longed for him, for his touch and the warmth radiating off him whenever you both were together.
Yet, everything felt different with the pain inside of your soul. You hardly closed your mouth, spitting out a name that seemed difficult to verbally say for you as he was finally up close and personal for the first time after the accident happened.
You were choking in your own words, mouth keeping a straight line, blinking in the tight feeling forming inside your chest. It was too painful to look at him because all you could recall was the memories with him, coming at you one by one.
"Sebastian?"
It's that exact moment you knew you were dying inside. As much as how he did when he thought he would never get to see you again.

Request: Could you do a imagine or series of Chris Evans and Y/N . She is the same age as Tom Holland. She joined Marvel in 2012. Tom and reader are very close (rumors of them dating just like Tomdaya). It's the last for Chris filming Captain America, he asks her if they are dating. She denies the rumors. Because Chris had feelings for her since his split with Jenny in March. She went to him in Lobby Hero and loved his moustache. Also, a headline that they are a couple no one expected.

“Please give a round of applause for [Y/n]!” Ellen shouted to the studio audience.
You walked out with a grin and waving your hand. Laughing slightly, you took a seat on the comfy chair across from the comedic talk show host. “No one is going to jump out and scare me again, are they?” You ask jokingly referring to two years ago when Scarlett Johansson had jumped out from the box and scared you.
Ellen laughed, “Not this time. I promise a scare free interview.”
You made a show of looking under the table in front of you and peeking behind you, causing the audience to erupt in laughter.
Ellen waved her hands, a smile on her face, “So…[Y/n]...You just finished filming your latest Marvel film. Can you tell us anything?”
You smiled, relaxing in the chair, getting into the familiar exchange of an interview, “I’ll have you now that I am not a spoiler like some of my coworkers. So sadly..I can not.”
The audience groaned in good nature as Ellen laughed.
“Coworkers like...Tom Holland?” She asked with a raised eyebrow. The giant screen behind you came alive with a picture of Tom and you hanging out on Hollywood Boulevard
a few weeks ago.
You smiled softly at the picture, “Tom is a great friend, but a horrible secret keeper.” You replied with a giggle.
Ellen smirked, “And you two are working closely on his new Spiderman movie, am I right?”
You shook your head with a smile at Ellen’s insight prodding, “My character in the Marvel universe does make an appearance in his character’s stand alone film. Since joining this amazing crew when the first Avenger film aired, I have been blessed to work with many different people on many different films. Although, my favorite has to be Captain America.”
Ellen waved her hand, and another picture popped up on the screen. This time of Chris Evans leaving the theatre of his acting show, Lobby Hero.
You smiled looking at him, even though it was just a picture, it made your heart happy.
“Your character and Chris’s have a tangled relationship in the Marvel Universe, isn’t that right?”
You nod, “Getting to work with Chris was a real treat. He really is Captain America in real life! So sweet and ready to fight for anything he deems morally wrong.” You laugh.
The audience awws and Ellen raises her eyebrows at your praise.
“You seem to hold him in high esteem.” It wasn’t a question, but you knew she would want a response.
Your smile slipped slightly, as you struggled to find the words that would be the least conscrued out of context. “Chris is just a really good guy. And He’s supportive of everyone on the cast and crew. I know that the cast was sad when he filmed his last scene and went to go join the cast of Lobby Hero.” You turned to the audience with a wide smile, “We made sure to let that cast know what a gem they had with adding Chris to their team.”
Ellen leaned back into her chair, her face growing serious, “We have a lot of questions from our Twitter tag when we released that you would be coming on our show today. Let’s read a couple out!”
You and Ellen both turned to the screen, angling your body so that the camera could still see your face.
Ellen read aloud from the twitter screenshot, “From @[Y/n]ismybae, they asked, ‘Does it ever get confusing switching from your character back to reality?’”
You sighed, “Sometimes I forget that I don’t have powers or martial art skills in real life. It’s a real let down!” You say with a laugh.
“@Sugarbabybear asked, ‘Seeing you post pics with the cast is so sweet! Who is your favorite to work with?’”
You thought for a moment, “If I had to pick one person...I would say Tom Holland. He makes filming super fun and he’s constantly joking around and making everyone laugh with his antics.”
The audience awwed again as Ellen clasped her hands to her chest. “That’s so sweet!” She exclaimed.
Pulling up another screenshot, she pointed at you, “Now this person asked the question we have all been asking ourselves the past year, @IShipItLikeFedEx asked, ‘Is it true that you and Tom Holland are secretly dating? Cause you two are seriously super cute together! I ship it!”
You smiled.
Ellen stared at you expectantly.
The audience held its collective breath.
“No. We are not dating. I’m actually interested in someone else..”
The dam broke.
The audience screamed.
Ellen gasped. “Who! You have to tell us now! Don’t leave us in suspense!”
You smirked, raising your brow in a gesture similar to the one Ellen had given you, “What?? I thought I already said I know how to keep a secret.”
Ellen groaned with a laugh, “Aww come on [Y/n]. Guys, don’t you think they should tell us?” She turned to the audience.
Another wave of people screaming and cheering for you.
You giggled, “Okay okay. Fine. It’s not like we planned on keeping it a secret for much longer. I got approval to announce it from him already.”
Ellen gasped again, “What announcement!? It’s not just a crush?”
You covered your laughter with your hand, Eyes squinting as you laughed, seeing the shock in Ellen’s eyes. You hadn’t discussed this before the show began airing, so it was a surprise to her as well as the audience.
“We have been dating for a few months now. And he knows all about the rumors of me and Tom. Tom and him laugh over it whenever we have the cast over for dinner. He actually approached me asking if the rumors were real before asking me out. And then...He invited me to the opening night of Lobby hero to watch him perform.” You said with a straight face.
The audience and Ellen lost their marbles again.
Ellen frantically waved her hand and the picture of Chris Evan exiting Lobby Hero, his mustache on full display, appeared on the screen again.
“You mean to tell us! That you and Chris Evan are dating!?” She screamed. Her grin so big you thought her face would crack. Then she calmed down and frowned at you, “Wait, what about the age difference? Doesn’t it get a bit awkward?”
You laughed, doubling over in your chair, “That’s part of the reason we wanted to keep it out of tabloids and reporters for as long as we could... so that we could get to know each other on another level without any outside criticism and statements and rumors. We don’t see age as a factor. We love each other.”
You gazed softly off into the distance, “He was such a dork when he first approached me to ask me out. Stumbling over his words, blush turning his ears pink. He thought the rumor of me and Tom dating was real but he wanted to be sure before he did something that might be taken out of context.”
Ellen and the Audience leaned forward toward you as you talked about your first date with Chris. How he had hesitantly asked you for a kiss at the end of the date. How he had asked your opinion on his mustache that he had to grow for Lobby hero.
“And? What did you say?” Ellen asked.
You giggled, “I actually think it’s cute on him. Though I didn’t mind him growing a beard along with it.”
“They said all the time that I should grow it out. So I did.”
Another voice piped up from behind you.
Jumping with a yelp, you turned and saw the subject of your conversation.
Turning to Ellen you pointed at her with a grin, “What is this?”
Ellen laughed, “I had an interview scheduled with Chris after yours.”
You jumped out of the chair and ran over to Chris, leaping into his arms.
He spun you around with a laugh before you both walked back to the couch.
Sitting next to him, you held his hand and looked up into his baby blue eyes.
He still had a mustache but it melted right into a beard making him look extra yummy.
“So you and [Y/n].” Ellen said.
Chris laughed, “Oh man.” He groaned in fake annoyance. Broken when he laughed, “Yes. I love this little fireball.” He gestured to you.
You winked at him, causing him to laugh, doing his signature left boob grab.
Leaning over when he caught his breath, you placed a light kiss on his lips.
“Awww! Young love!” Ellen sighed, “You two are the couple that no one expected, I’ll admit, but it’s just two cute now seeing it in person.”
You and Chris shared a smile. Too in love to care what the world thought.

End Game Q&A from Russo Brothers in China
I just knew it! And this is also a relief for me since I ship both Steggy and Stucky. If they can milk fandoms for money and views they would do it! Steve wasn’t selfish... they explain and not explain a lot of stuff.
Probably depends on the whole fact if Chris Evans would ever like to put on his suit again!
Q: Why Iron Man has to be the one to do the final snap, couldn't the people like Thor, Star-Lord or Captain Marvel whom all previously have handled the power of Infinity Stones done it instead?
A: Thor in this movie couldn't do it, only Hulk was strong enough to do the snap without dying. We are still not sure whether Captain Marvel can also withstand all the power of Infinity Stones at once. The reason we choose to let Iron Man do it in the end was because he was the closest one to Thanos at the time. In all the futures Doctor Strange foresee, Iron Man was the only one who could get close to Thanos and do the snap. People usually think the death of a hero is a horrible tragedy. But we think this is different. When his death was able to bring back hope, to save half of the universe, then his death was powerful and meaningful. We shouldn't feel too sad or angry about it.
Q: Peggy Carter was probably already married and in her mid 40s in 1970, in that case what year was it that Captain America went back to dance with her?
A: We can't answer it for now, this is a story that happened in an alternate reality. Maybe it will be revealed in the future.
Q: Did Captain America's action at the end affect the timeline? Does that mean there was a time where two CA existed in a same universe?
A: To me, CA's action in the end wasn't the fact he wanted to change anything, it's more like me has made a choice. He chose to go back to past and lived with the one he loved for the rest of his life. The time travel in this movie created an alternate reality. He lived a completely different life in that world. We don't know how exactly his life turned out, but I'd like to believe he still helped many others when they were needed in that world. Yes, there were two CA in that reality, it's just like what Hulk said, what happened in the past has already happened. If you go back to past, you simply created a new reality. The characters in this movie created new timeline when they went back to the past, but it had no effect to the prime universe. What happened in the past 22 movies was still canon.
Q: In both IW and EG, the heroes tried their back to take the glove away from Thanos, so why didn't Doctor Strange just cut off Thanos' hand with his ability?
A: Thanos' skin is almost impenetrable, we don't know whether Doctor Strange had the capability to do it. If he failed to cut it on time, Thanos would still able to do the snap. Doctor Strange realized this issue during his millions of test runs.
Q: Why did you make Thor fat? Did Chris also become fat for the role or it was done through CG?
A: It was mostly CG'd. Thor suffered more loss than anyone else, he has been living in constant pain and regret.
Q: Was old Cap played Evans using make up? Or it was also post production CG?
A: 95% CG, 5% make up. But the voice was 100% Evans, no modification for that.
Q: Can you get the soul your sacrificed for the Soul Stone back when you return it?
A: No, the process is irreversible. Even if you have returned it to its original location, you wouldn't be able to get the person back. In fact, it's not really returning the stone, more like put it back properly. The tribute soul for the soul stone will forever be sealed in that place, therefore Black Widow is gone forever.
Q: How would Cap react when he encounter Red Skull when he returned the stone?
A: Red Skull would probably put the soul stone back to its location, and wait for the next unfortunate stone seeker to make sacrifice. Cap and Red Skull probably won't fight. It's because it's his mission to return the stone to its original place. The Red Skull is also no longer the same Red Skull from FA. He is more like a ghost, you could almost say he's a completely different entity now. He only exists to guard the stone, his past conscious may or may not exist anymore.
Q: In IW, Thanos used the time stone to reverse the time so he could the already dead Vision, and it didn't cause any time parallax. Why did no one use time stone to save Iron Man's life in EG?
A: It's because even if you save Iron Man, it will still not change the fact that Thanos will eventually win the war. Among the 14 million possibilities that Doctor Strange has seen, Iron Man's sacrifice is a must for that one win scenario.
Q: How did Thanos bring his army to the future?
A: There is a guy called Maw in his army, he was a great wizard. Thanos himself was a brilliant genius as well. Those two easily reverse engineered and mass produced Pym Particles.
Q: What about those people who got dusted? What did those five years mean to them? Why didn't they grow older when undusted?
A: Yes, those people whom was lucky to survive the snap are 5 years older than the people who just got back. The reason Spider Man saw his friend again in high school at the end was simply because his friends was unfortunately also dusted like Spider Man was. Of course, there are people in his grade whom didn't die and they are probably already in colleges by now. To those dusted people, they had no conscious in these past 5 years. They didn't know what happened. It's as if they had just woke up from a long sleep. The only one who was aware about how many years has passed was Doctor Strange, because he has already seen that when he was time mediating on Titan. Parker's reunion with Ned was a touching moment. There are also people whom indeed moved on but suddenly was reunited with their lost ones. Yeah it's kind a complicated world now.
Q: What if the mouse didn't press the button to turn on the quantum machine, wouldn't that stop EG from happening? Isn't this a bit too much of a coincidence?
A: Yes, the MOUSE SAVED THE UNIVERSE. Among the many realities in those 14 millions possible futures Doctor Strange foresee, the mouse failed to press button and thus the heroes failed in those futures.
Q: EG's plot, is it a parallel universe or a closed time loop?
A: Nope, not a time loop. Both Ancient One and Hulk were right. You can't change the future by simply going back to past. But it's possible to create a different alternate future. It's not butterfly effect. Every decision you made in the past could potentially create a new timeline. For example, the old Cap at the end movie, he lived his married life in a different universe from the main one. He had to make another jump back to the main universe at the end to give the shield to Sam.
Q: There were some metal smashing sound when the movie ended. Was that an easter egg? or just a tribute to Iron Man, or maybe an implication that Iron Man will return?
A: It was our way to say goodbye to him.
Q: Why there was no Iron Man's body in his funeral, only his arc reactor? And is there any secret messages for bring back that kid from Iron Man 3?
A: We just feel that he should participate in Iron Man's funeral. As for whether he will appear again in future, who knows.
Q: Why didn't Black Widow get a funeral as well?
A: Did you forget when the heroes where mourning for her after when they returned from past? Maybe her funeral happened off screen. Maybe it will be shown in future installment, because there are still tons of stories in MCU that are waiting to be tell.

¡¡¡¡¡¡PLOT HOLES EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!! The answers to all the questions are:
1 - Because, US, the Russo bros. say so.
2 - It was CONVENIENT for our plot (yay same as in CIVIL WAR).
(The MOUSE SAVED THE UNIVERSE is my absolute favourite, because it means there’s a lot of realities where that mouse was killed off, just died, never plugged that engine... Whatever, and that means Tony, Pepper and Morgan lived their happy lives to a full, because Tony was never required for the Avengers Timetravel Shitshow, sorry Scott, rot forever in the quantum realm, I don’t care).
WOW, worst Marvel movie EVER.
I hate those four assholes, the writers and the directors. Fuck them 3000.

Washed-Up Stucky MNF/Fic Writer Provides Endgame Opinions
Tumblr media
I’m going to try to tackle this linearly, at least to begin with:
I am very much Team Bored With MCU Hawkeye, but I want to give sincere props for the cold open, which I think accomplished several things simultaneously: recapped the consequences of the last film (since, hey, it’s been a fuckin while), set the tone, and began Clint’s narrative arc.
That said, jesus, I’m still irritated by the shoe-horned family to begin with. First they were invented for convenience and narrative stakes, and then their final, ultimate reason for existence was to be temporarily fridged. Take a moment to imagine a world where Clint was the circus runaway loner he was supposed to be, who only had his coworkers as found family, who either responded to The Snap by throwing himself harder into his teamwork work OR went rogue because his sense of justice and agency was so fucking destroyed by what happened. He didn’t need a blood family to have the arc he had. And he didn’t even need the arc he had. But this is a bitchfest about a choice made many years ago, not made in this final movie.
The first third of that movie was rough. The whole thing had the narrative flow of “A Series of Related Short Stories Played One After the Other”, but the first third seems to be Failing To Establish the New World and then Clumsily Establishing The Emerging Situation.
The establishing shots and scenes to show the audience what The Snap’s consequences were worldwide were... lacking. It’s dark? No more baseball? People are relying on natural light instead of interior lighting, but this is also happening at Avengers HQ, where they clearly still have power and internet access to work their tech, so... was it just an aesthetic choice? I feel like the film tried to spend time showing us what the consequences were for the average New Yorker, but instead we get a weird Canonly Gay Russo Character who gave a good performance that tells us about the human loss but not about the mechanics of this new world. We get the ‘no baseball’ shot and all we get afterward are ‘people miss the missing people’. But restaurants still exist? Businesses are functioning? (Wouldn’t New York run kind of smoother if it wasn’t overpopulated?) I feel like we were invited to start thinking about how this dystopia works, but were never given answers. (There are so many interpretations of how things could go wrong if certain people just disappeared, and their knowledge/access were suddenly unavailable, and none of it was explored, even briefly, outside of establishing shots.)
The Garden Planet - it’s discovery, the traveling to it, the fight there - lacked emotional grounding in a way I find hard to explain. The audience was excited for Brie Larson being a fucking boss, and the quick execution of the grab-him-and-cut-his-arm-off plan was satisfying, but the twist and subsequent letdown was just a weird beat after a slog to get there, after waiting on a deep letdown beat from the last movie.
Last thing about flow and emotional beats, because I want to move on to character analysis, and this is a huge one for me: Clint’s fight in Tokyo and Steve’s fight with himself were some of the biggest missed opportunities in the entire film.
Not counting the football field brawl at the end, which I don’t count as a real fight scene, these are the two major fight scenes of the entire film and as far as I can tell, there was no effort made to make these showpieces. They went to the trouble of bringing Clint to Bladerunner Central, and pit him against the last bastion of aesthetic-obsessed mafia in the world. The panning camera in the interior as Hawkeye fought goons brushed past lazy fight scenes that only showed who was winning, not the brutality that Clint was supposedly falling into, not the grit of this new awful world, just... shapeless dark bodies getting thrown through windows? And on top of that, they could have made up (or picked from canon) any Big Bad to pit him against outside in the street, and we get an Orientalist sword fight that could have fit in nicely on a CW superhero show, and some of the most unnecessary exposition dialogue I have ever heard. Someone bothered to weave Clint’s arc in earlier, with Rhodey explaining to Natasha that Clint’s gone International and also Worryingly Dark. Why the fuck do we have the ‘I’ll give you anything you want’ line, on the rotten cherry on top of ‘stop being mean to the yakuza, we didn’t start it’? You already covered his motivations with the cold open.
And while Steve’s fight ended in a FABULOUSLY HEARTBREAKING WAY, the fight itself was nothing - you can pick little character details out like how they both ditched their shields almost immediately, and it was funny that Then-Steve mistook Now-Steve for Loki in the first place, but it was still a completely lost opportunity to get one true superhero battle in this three-hour slog. Both Steves could have gotten up and carried out the rest of the narrative after a decent brawl, but instead they fall a great distance after some blocked shots and it... was nothing? Missed opportunity for some cool shit.
Okay, skipping to character assessments now:
Clint’s character has been mishandled from the beginning and this seemed to be the “better late than never” eleventh hour arc. Except the end of the arc is unclear - it made sense for him to fall apart after losing his Shoehorn Family, but how did Natasha’s choice to fall do anything but fridge someone else, with more agency this time? It makes Natasha noble, which she already was, and it made her win against Clint, which I appreciate, but Natasha didn’t need salvation through death and Clint learns nothing by getting them back, just experiences relief.
Bruce. I want to say, first, that I love Hulk in a Cardigan. Cardihulk can stay. I want fanart, I want t-shirts, give me all of it. But Bruce’s explanation of “I scienced it so I could get the best of both worlds” only gives us half of the acceptance that Banner’s character is already working towards. As we saw most explicitly in Ragnarok, the Hulk isn’t just a physical form, he has his own separate consciousness, originally defined by rage but revealed to be more complicated. Bruce merging into Cardihulk seems to have... erased Hulk’s separate consciousness without merging it into himself? If there had been some acknowledgement of a second voice still within him that shot out opinions or demands for certain menu items in the diner, this would have been a much cleaner end to his arc, which has been equally messy between actor and narrative shifts.
Speaking of Ragnarok... it’s time! Are you ready? Have you read articles about the Gambit Gambit too? Are you fucking depressed that a fat suit was used for comedy gags in the year of our lord 2019? Because I was. The Russos seemed to... not struggle with what progress Ragnarok had put onto Bruce and Thor’s characters, but reject it. This movie’s Thor was anxious for laughs, was desperate for easy answers to a a feeling of lost heroism, and it didn’t feel like a familiar character. The time-travel scene with his mother wrapped it up very elegantly, and was well performed, but that scene didn’t need to follow a series of “chunky drunk in sweatpants” jokes to show us that Thor was struggling. Everyone in the film is fucking holding on by their fingernails, but only one is played for cheap laughs.
At least we get the bisexual Asgard lady king we deserved.
Tony got the right death. He got a hero’s death and Pepper’s last lines of “you can rest now” were exactly the right lines to wrap up an arc characterized by fear and a desire to protect and control at any cost. I knew the MCU was never going to really acknowledge that Tony’s The Problem, even with lines like ‘you should have let me do the fascist robot thing, that was gonna work fine’ thrown around pretty much as soon as he touches down on earth again.
I’m not sure if there’s much to say about Natasha. It was fitting that she was running HQ, that she was struggling, that she was rejecting emotional help from Steve but clearly still close with him. Seeing her break down after hearing the report on Clint felt right after, I think, being told by several directors (or making the personal acting choice? idk) to just be as flat and as decolletagey as possible. And again, while I feel like she would be self-sacrificing on that cliffisde if given the opportunity, and that she would win, the narrative choice to place her there and have that be her end didn’t really give her anything she didn’t already have. She had nothing to prove.
I have a hard time really laying out my thoughts on Steve without launching into the pregnant absence of Bucky, but I’m going to try. Chris Evans did a good job being the emotional heart of a really fractured story with a lot of conflicting pieces. Seeing him lead a talk therapy session after The Snap seemed very out of character for him until one realizes that Sam isn’t there to lead it himself. His scene offering help to Natasha was another good scene between them proving that not every m/f relationship has to be sexual to be interesting or add to the plot. His leadership speech during the Stupid Fucking Slow-Mo Heroes’ Walk to the platform was well done and makes me think of what could have been for the MCU, if they’d ever just let them be a cohesive found-family team for twenty minutes and let them fight some doom-bots or something. Fuck. Imagine.
Something weirdly satisfying about the deceitful ‘hail hydra’ line in the elevator. Yes? Yes.
The hammer scene was satisfying to me without being too gratuitous, but I’ll acknowledge that some people weren’t into it. Having paid more attention to Steve’s arc than most, I’ll argue that he earned it several times over.
His ending - that is, the secret life he alludes to but doesn’t explicitly reveal to Sam - is earned too. I’ve read at least one thing saying that Steve’s arc was all about him learning to let go, but that’s... never what Steve does. Not at the end of any arc, of any comic story, does Steve let go. Not of his principles, not of the people he loves, he is always “Thinking... Thinking About Bucky!” and getting in fights he can’t necessarily win. So I don’t think his final ending is ever Learning to Let Go. I think it’s fair that it’s Just Once, Just This One Time, Getting What You Want And Getting To Enjoy It.
And now I’m backtracking to Bucky. I’ve read one article already that theorizes that Steve’s arc, which was highly prioritized, included literally as little direct interaction with Bucky as possible because... the MCU? the Russos? Marvel?...  is aware that Steve/Bucky is the most popular same-sex ship in the MCU. And that’s tiresome as fuck but I think there’s some truth to it. I wonder if, like in Civil War, we’ll hear later from the actors that a lot of contextual one-on-one scenes were shot and then mysteriously cut from the final edit.
I will say that in my head, Bucky is relaxed when Steve goes back in time for the final time, and lets Sam goes to talk with Steve one-on-one at the bench, because Bucky is not worried if Steve will come back, and does not feel a need to check on Steve on the bench. Because, like Peggy, Bucky has been getting secret visits too. Maybe as far back as during his time in Wakanda, but certainly since the final fight with Thanos. Bucky was calm because he already knew. He didn’t miss Steve because Steve hadn’t given him an opportunity to do so.

Why I Enjoyed Endgame and Why I Don’t Think That’s Important
This is not a movie review, not the way you’re thinking. This, broadly speaking, is a discussion of story-telling in the 21st century and modern fandom. The movie has been out a week and you would probably need to be dead in a ditch on a remote unpaved road in the wilderness to not be aware that some bad things happen to some characters and that a lot of people are upset about it. This is meant to be comfort, not critique. If you didn’t enjoy Endgame, believe me I understand why and I support you in that. But maybe I can offer you something that will ease that lump in your chest a little. There will be spoilers under the cut.
I’m going to start off by saying that I have been less than pleased with some of the Marvel script writing lately. I thought Homecoming and Civil War in particular were badly done and Ragnarök and Ultron could have been better. I was also a bit frustrated with Infinity War. I can dissect why I feel the writing fell apart a bit here but it seems pointless as anything more than a cautionary tale. I can still watch three of those five without feeling the urge to throw things at the TV so they’re not a total loss at least.
I think that when we look at a film like Endgame and at the MCU as a whole we tend to be so absorbed in the realness of the characters that we forget that Chris Evans is not 102, that RDJ is not ten years younger than his actual age and that Scarlett Johansson hasn’t been augmented by the Red Room. These are very talented people, but they are real people. They have real, for certain values of it, everyday lives. They have careers, careers they specifically went into so that they could spend their time being different people. And they have spent the last ten years playing the same character over and over. Do I think they enjoyed it? Absolutely! Do I think some or all of them are getting tired of it? Hell yes. Because I went to college on an acting scholarship and let me tell you; my roles on the college stage ran about 6 weeks and I was so damn glad to be done with that by the end of a run and on to the next thing I cannot begin to tell you.
The point is, Fandom is Forever but acting gigs aren’t. Working action films is physically demanding. CGI can make you look young but it can’t fix your bum knee. At some point every actor is going to go “I don’t want to jump off any more tall things” This is reasonable. As fellow humans, most of us anyway, we were subconsciously preparing ourselves for the day when RDJ wasn’t going to be Iron Man any more. The question we should be asking ourselves isn’t “Did the writers do a disservice to the fans by killing off these characters?” It’s “Did the writers do a disservice to the fans in the way they killed off these characters?” I believe they did okay overall, and I’m going to explain why.
The primary reason I am okay with how Endgame played out is that the writers effectively broke up the band. At the end of the movie, Thor and Steve have moved on, Clint has moved home, and well, Flowers. I think we can all agree that Tony Stark’s life philosophy was: You will pry the Avengers and The Suit from my cold dead hands. He was never going to be able to rest enough to retire. He bought a cabin in the woods and made babies and still could not let that shit go. Iron Man was only ever going to go out in a blaze of glory. We all knew this even if we weren’t admitting it to ourselves. Likewise I think most of us just wanted Steve to catch a break for once in his damn life. I am freaking relieved that he finally learned how to dance. I think the only reason he could walk away from the Avengers at all was knowing that his original team had served their time and his chapter was over, it was time to hand things off to the next heroes. I don’t feel like being effectively trapped on earth was good for Thor so I’m glad to see him heading back out into the galaxy and getting his crap together. I wasn’t pleased about the fat jokes, but you know what? Thor was a self destructive, emotional basket case and he was Still Worthy. He didn’t have to be buff and psychologically stable to be a hero. I feel like after everything that’s happened to Clint and his family that he needs to be there for them and I think that after everything that’s happened to Nat she needed that moment to make the sacrifice play for the greater good. Is there a part of me that’s bitter that they killed off the first female Avenger? Oh for certain. But Natasha was just as attached to that team as Tony was, probably more, she wasn’t going to let it go, and more importantly as someone who grew up without a family she wasn’t going to let Clint’s kids lose him. She chose, the same way Tony did, the same way Steve did when he crashed into the ice. The same way Bucky did when he fell. If we honor that sacrifice when the boys make it we should honor hers too. Like Peggy said, she must have thought it was worth it.
I always maintain that there are legitimate reasons to kill off a character, one is in service to the plot. Another is to release an actor. And this second one is the biggest reason I’m happy with Endgame, because I have been bracing myself for a reboot that I’ve been sure was coming for a long time. I knew that eventually every one of the original five would be ready to hang up their hero capes and move on. I didn’t want to think about it. I didn’t want to have to look at someone who wasn’t RDJ calling themselves Tony Stark. I didn’t want to see a Clint Barton other than Jeremy. I didn’t want that but I was bracing myself for it. Because the franchise is very successful and no one with good sense is going to stop making Marvel movies. But with Endgame, I might not have to deal with that so soon, if ever. The writers have set us up very nicely to one day see Cassie Lang in the Pym suit. Sam could pass the shield to Steve and Peggy’s grandson. T’Chall’s son could one day be the Black Panther. Morgan Stark could be Iron Woman. These are all things that could happen, and when you view the future through that lense a lot of the sloppy science and weird plot choices suddenly seem slightly more reasonable. At least reasonable enough to feel less like you need a drink. What happened in Endgame was always going to happen, because this is film and its shelf life is short. What you need to decide for yourself is if it happened well, if you’re okay with how it happened.
Maybe that makes you feel a little better, or maybe not. That’s okay. You can hate Endgame because it took something from you, it did. You can love it because of what it didn’t take, for what it gives. Both are okay. I personally feel like the plot for Endgame itself could have been better if the writers had done a better job on those previous films I mentioned earlier but overall I’m good with it.
Here’s the thing: You can pull up your browser, point it to AO3 and read a universe where all the Avengers still live in the tower and have movie night and if that’s your favorite Marvel Universe then good for you. You do not need that on the big screen to be validated. The MCU was never going to give you that because that’s a severe lack of explosions for a major motion picture adventure. That does not devalue it in the slightest. Find your happy place and set up camp and then remember that because of Endgame there are more faces and heroes you could meet in that universe too. Because that’s what we do in Fandom, we hold on to the best parts and we fix the messes and we fill in the gaps. And If I don’t have to worry about a reboot in the near future mucking up my nice alternate universe, so much the better.

Episode 4: Happy Birthday Ellie
July 19, 2013
The last three weeks had been the most fun Ellie had experienced while living in Los Angeles and that was all thanks to the Evans family. While she had already known Lisa and met Chris, she hadn’t met his brother or his sisters, but they had all accepted her into their group. In some ways they reminded Ellie of her family back in Oregon and with all of them packed into the house, it didn’t seem that big anymore and she certainly hadn’t found herself lonely.
Best of all, no one else caught the horrible stomach bug that had taken her down for the count.
Chris’s mom, sisters, nephews and niece had returned to Boston the week after the Fourth of July, but he had decided to stay in LA because Scott was staying for work. Because of this, Ellie had found herself watching baseball games in the basement of Chris’s house with an Evans brother on either side of her.
It was during one of those baseball games, just last Sunday, that the topic of birthdays had come up and Ellie had admitted to Chris and Scott that her birthday was that coming Wednesday, July 17. The brothers had been shocked at first then had launched into complaints about her not telling them sooner.
They had just finished telling her off when her cell phone had rung and her younger sister, Isabelle, had inquired about coming down to LA from San Francisco for the weekend to celebrate. Ellie had been hesitant about asking Chris if her sister could stay with her in the guest house, but she had sucked up the courage and he’d given her a quick yes, even offering her use of the other guestroom in the main house if they needed it.
All of that, combined with Chris offering to drive her to the airport to pick up her sister, was how Ellie found herself waiting for her sister, Isabelle, to exit the secure section at the Long Beach Airport.
“Isabelle!” she called, spotting her sister.
The two sisters hurried to each other and hugged.
“I love your hair,” Ellie said, tugging on her sister’s brown locks. “Get tired of being a blonde?”
“Never,” Isabelle smirked as she slipped her arm through Ellie’s. “I was just ready for something different.”
“Do you have any checked bags?” Ellie asked her, noticing a small rolling suitcase at Isabelle’s feet.
“Nope, Eric was so proud of me packing for an entire weekend in one bag,” Isabelle said with a smirk.
“But you don’t plan on going home with just one do you?” Ellie guessed.
“Absolutely not!” Isabelle replied. “By the way, you didn’t have to park and then come inside and get me. I could have found you.”
“I’m going to tell you something, but you have to promise you won’t freak out on me,” Ellie told her sister.
“He brought you didn’t he,” Isabelle said, wide eyed. Ellie nodded. “Did he at least get dressed to leave the house?”
“Izzy!” Ellie exclaimed, playfully slapping her sister’s arm. “I told you that in confidence! You can’t go repeating that… if he finds out I told you, I’m dead.”
“I’ll be quiet,” Isabelle promised, pretending to zip her lips and lock them.
Ellie sent Chris a quick text and then they headed for the pickup and drop off area. Spotting Chris’s dark windowed car, Ellie led her sister to it and then climbed into the front passenger seat while Isabelle got into the backseat.
“Chris, meet my sister Isabelle,” Ellie said making the introductions. “Izzy, meet my boss Chris Evans.”
“Nice to meet you,” Chris said, awkwardly holding his hand over the seat to shake Isabelle’s hand.
“Nice to meet you, too,” Isabelle replied, shaking his hand.
“She knows, doesn’t she,” Chris said as he merged into the traffic lane leaving the airport.
“Who you are? Yes,” Ellie replied, hoping that was the answer he was hoping for. “Only my older sister Sydney didn’t know who you were when I told them I was working for you.”
“That wasn’t what I was referring to and you know it,” Chris said, chancing a glance at her and noticing a red flush. “You told your sisters about our awkward meeting, didn’t you?”
“She didn’t mean to,” Isabelle pipped up from the backseat. “As you can see Ellie has a tell when she isn’t telling the full truth. It’s when she gets bright red when you know you’ve gotten there!”
“Izzy!” Ellie exclaimed, shooting her sister a red faced glare.
“So you do know then,” Chris stated then chuckled.
“That you tried to cover yourself with a roll of paper towels?” Isabelle replied. “Yes and if it makes you feel any better, she wouldn’t give us any details. She just said there was nothing to complain about.”
Chris quirked an eyebrow and stole another glance at Ellie who was now bright red.
“I hate you both right now,” she mumbled causing Chris and Isabelle to laugh.
Scott was waiting for them when they got back to the house and Chris and Ellie were both taken by surprise when Isabelle ran over and gave him a big hug.
“Are we missing something?” Chris asked them.
“I follow Ellie on Instagram,” Scott told him. “She never posts anything.” He shot Ellie a disappointed look. “But her sister posts all the time and we got to chatting one day.”
“So what, you two are friends now?” Ellie asked.
“Pretty much,” Isabelle replied. “I had to make sure you were surrounded by good people and I can tell you are.”
“Plus it also gave us time to plan your birthday adventure,” Scott told her.
“My what now?” Ellie asked.
“You and I are going shopping,” Isabelle told her sister. “And then tonight, Scott and Chris are taking us out for dinner and then we’re going dancing!”
“We are?” Chris and Ellie asked, simultaneously.
“Oh my god,” Scott muttered to Isabelle. “They’re making the same ‘really’ face.”
“Now might be a good time to put my suitcase in my room,” Isabelle stage whispered to him.
“Good idea, you can stay in the guestroom by mine,” Scott replied and he quickly led Isabelle out of the room.
“I am so sorry,” Ellie said to Chris.
“No, I’m sorry,” Chris replied, shaking his head. “My brother can be a bit nosey at times.”
“So is my sister,” Ellie said with a laugh. “One of us should go up there before they start plotting anything else.”
“No nose goes,” Chris said and quickly put his finger on his nose.
Ellie’s jaw dropped and he snickered.
“You are such a cheater,” Ellie told him, rolling her eyes.
“Only because you didn’t think of it first,” Chris said with a shrug. “Good luck with them.”
Shaking her head, Ellie went upstairs and found her sister and Scott in the guestroom Isabelle was staying in.
“So you two were Insta-staking each other via my Instagram account?” she asked, leaning against the doorway.
“Absolutely,” Isabelle replied with a grin. “But I can honestly say, I didn’t start it.”
“It was totally me,” Scott said proudly. “You told us about your sisters and then I was on Instagram and I found you on there, Ellie, and then I found your sister.”
“And I quickly figured out that he was Chris’s brother and that he actually knew you,” Isabelle explained. “We started talking and now we have a super birthday adventure planned for you!”
“You mean the one you two forgot to mention to Chris and myself?” Ellie asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
“She’s bringing out the big sister pose,” Scott muttered. “You’re on your own.”
He quickly fled the room leaving the two sisters alone.
“You’re not mad are you?” Isabelle asked. “Honestly, we just got to talking about it on your birthday. He said that you’d gone out with some friends for work, but that in the few weeks he’d gotten to know you, he got the impression you hadn’t really explored the LA nightlife.”
“Since when have I ever been part of the nightlife scene?” Ellie asked. “I’m more of a movie night type of girl.”
“I know and that’s why I’m your best friend in addition to being your sister,” Isabelle said with a smile. “Now, we need to go shopping, because I’m pretty sure you have nothing to wear tonight and we both know I didn’t bring anything to wear out just so I would have an excuse to go shopping!”
As per every shopping adventure Ellie had gone on with her sister, Isabelle wanted to see everything before making a decision, while Ellie quickly made a decision. The only saving grace was that, due to their limited finances, the sisters had stuck to an outlet mall rather than going someplace more upscale.
It was after two in the afternoon when they finally returned to the house and carried their shopping bags up to Isabelle’s guestroom. Then, knowing they wouldn’t be eating until nearly eight that night, they went to the kitchen to make themselves a late lunch.
“You seem very comfortable here,” Isabelle remarked as she and Ellie sat outside on the patio eating their sandwiches. “And you seem very at ease with the Evans brothers.”
“I am comfortable here,” Ellie shrugged. “And they’re nice guys.”
“And Chris is even cuter in person than I imagined,” Isabelle said with a smirk. “What do you think?”
“That he is a great guy who is my boss and my friend,” Ellie replied, glaring at her sister. “I know what you’re trying to do, but honestly, Izzy, my life is too messed up right now to be thinking about dating anyone, famous or not.”
“Maybe not, but being a friend is always the best first step,” Isabelle said. “Look at me and Eric. He started out as my study buddy and now we live together.”
A few hours later, Ellie found herself walking through the main house in her bathrobe with her wet hair tucked in a towel. She met Chris in the middle of the stairs.
“Dressed and ready to go, I see,” he teased.
“Of course,” she replied and unintentionally flashed him a little leg as she adjusted her robe.
“You and Isabelle are welcome to use my bathroom to get ready in,” he told her. “Scott can be a bathroom hog at times.”
“Where are you going to get ready?” she asked.
“I just took a shower and I have my outfit picked out, I just have to get dressed, but that will take me like five minutes tops,” he replied. “So while you three are getting beautiful, I’ll be downstairs watching the baseball game.”
“Think they’ll kill me if I decide to just wear jeans and a t-shirt to dinner so I can watch the game?” Ellie asked.
“YES!” Isabelle and Scott shouted from upstairs.
“There you go,” Chris said with a chuckle. “Have fun!”
Going up the stairs, Ellie found Isabelle standing in Scott’s room helping him pick out an outfit for the evening. Judging by the amount of clothing on his bed, he’d obviously gone back to his apartment while she and her sister had been out shopping and brought half his closet back.
“Chris won’t dress up,” Scott told the sisters. “But if you two are dressing to the nines then I will, too.”
Sitting off to the side, Ellie watched the progress of the baseball game on her phone as Scott and Isabelle both got ready. Then the two turned their combined attention on her, only allowing her privacy to put her body hugging black dress on.
“Hello boobies,” Scott cheered when he saw her in the dress for the first time. “I could tell you had them, obviously, but damn girl. Good job.”
“She got all the boobs in the family,” Isabelle said with a tinge of jealousy in her tone.
“Says the one who got all the legs in the family,” Ellie retorted. “You and Sydney got the height while poor little Riley and I didn’t.”
“Yes, but you don’t have to worry about being too tall when standing next to a guy while wearing heels,” Isabelle said as she pulled the teal colored heels that Ellie had purchased out of the box. “I can’t wear heels around Eric, I’m just shorter than him in flats. When I wear heels, I tower over him.”
“It’s probably good for him every now and then,” Scott offered. “Reminds him who the real boss is.”
Ellie shook her head as she chuckled with the other two.
Eventually all three of them ended up in Chris’s large master bathroom with Ellie seated in the middle with her back towards the mirror and looking at the closed bathroom door. She heard Chris come into his room and Scott left the bathroom to talk to his brother.
“We have about ten minutes before we need to go,” Scott reported as he came back in.
“Perfect timing, because Ellie is ready to go,” Isabelle declared.
Standing up, Ellie turned and looked at the mirror while Isabelle and Scott looked on proudly. Logically, she knew the woman in the mirror was herself, but she’d never put on this much makeup before not to mention worn fake eyelashes. Turning her head, she admired the curls that her sister had put in her hair as well.
“What do you think?” her sister asked. “I know it’s more -”
“I love it,” Ellie replied. “I’ll probably never let you do this to my face again, but I love it!”
“Let’s see what Chris thinks,” Scott said he opened the bathroom door and all but pushed Ellie out of the bathroom. “CHRIS!”
“What?” Chris asked, stepping out of his walk in closet as he pulled on a dark denim jean jacket that he had paired with a simple white t-shirt and a pair of khakis. He stopped with his right arm halfway in the sleeve when he caught sight of Ellie standing before him in a body hugging black dress that showed off her ample cleavage. “Wow.”
He wanted to stay more, but his mind was drawing a blank. Other than the underwear situation, he was used to seeing Ellie with her hair pulled back and in casual clothes that didn’t exactly hide her hourglass figure, but it didn’t add to it. This dress, however, hugged her every curve and drew attention to her breasts.
“Is that a good wow?” Ellie asked, feeling slightly self-conscious by the way his eyes were dancing all over her body.
“A very good wow,” Chris said, find his voice, finally.  “You look beautiful, Ellie.”
Feeling other parts of himself agreeing a bit too much for the audience in his bedroom, he forced himself to look at his brother and her sister. Upon seeing that they were dressed up nicely as well, he wondered if he was dressed a little too casually for their night out.
“Are you going to finish putting on your jacket so we can go, Chris?” his brother asked with an amused smirk on his face. “You might need to put some shoes on, too.”
Chris glared at him as he finished putting on his jacket. Going back into his closet, he grabbed a pair of black shoes and put them on.
“She’s just your friend Ellie,” he muttered to himself as he grabbed a pair of sunglasses off his shelf. “It’s just Ellie.” The only problem was that she was no longer just his baseball loving friend, now she was a beautiful woman who loved to watch baseball with him.

Final Thoughts
So this is it.
Endgame is 1000% complete. The premiere was last night, and in less than 48 hours, it will be released to the public. Well, at least for me, in about...
Tumblr media
(Yes, I have a countdown on my phone that’s been set up since last year that goes until Thursday, April 25, 2019, at 6:00pm)
I wanted to make a post about my predictions. Something I could come back to, so I could see if I was right or wrong. I remember doing that last year with some of my favourite fan artists and laughing at their prospective situations that turned out to be true.
But you see, the truth is... I have absolutely no idea what to expect. And that's not just a cheap copout of me saying "It's a Marvel movie, therefore anything can happen". We know nothing. Literally nothing. The trailers are compilations of repetitive clips revealing nothing past the first 20 minutes of a 3-hour 2-minute movie. We don't even know the films true plot.
Is there a time jump? Do they time travel? Why are they splitting up into teams, seeing how well that proved to work last time? How is Scott saved? Tony and Nebula? And what is their plan?
I don't know. I really don't. All any of us can do is take shots in the dark. RDJ said it himself that it is near impossible to predict what's going to happen.
So that got me thinking about something I've considered pretty much since the debut of the first trailer...this movie is unpredictable...but there are some assumptions we've been making that we are assuming as a fact are going to happen.
But then there are also moments that I believe deserve to happen. Story arcs that need to be completed. Endings certain characters deserve.
So, drawn-out intros aside, here are my final thoughts on this movie.
Tony
Tony is an enigma. I've made a post in the past discussing why he might actually not die based on the chess motif and the necessity to save him as the "King", despite the fact that death is what we'd all expect. I'll be honest, when the first trailer came out, I thought to myself, "Wow. They're really trying to prep us for the heartbreak by shoving this foreshadowing down our throats.”
Obviously, this is based on the first half of the first trailer, with him adrift in space. I thought that maybe Captain Marvel would be the one to save him, or maybe Pepper in her rescue armour that was seen a couple months ago from a set photo. But how would they know where he was?
But after the second trailer debuted, I think I'm going to make the assumption that it is, in fact, Nebula, with her spare bodily robotic parts, who saves the two of them and brings them back to earth. I'm also going to assume that the scene from the trailers of Steve and the rest looking up at the night sky outside the compound (if that scene is even real) is them seeing Tony and Nebula arriving back to earth. Though I have considered the possibility of the space ship recording scene actually taking place at the end of the move...which would suck. But I'm also going to assume, based on the third trailer and clips that followed of Steve and Tony together, that they actually do reunite, in the present time.
Of course, this does not excuse him from the possibility of dying at all. And he very well could. But then, another thought crossed my mind. In Infinity War, the first time we see Tony on screen is with Pepper, discussing their wedding and possible children. See...why would they foreshadow that if they were to never make reference of it again? Sure, there's a possibility of a time jump with perhaps a wedding and maybe kid squeezed in there. After all, the whole vibe we're given from the second trailer is the question of where the world is supposed to go from the tragedy endured, and how some move on (then Steve of course says "but not us" but anyways). But that's only with the off chance that there is a time jump, and it seems kind of off in the first place. So assuming the foreshadowing wasn't for no reason, I'd like to think that there's a chance he lives long enough to retire and have a kid.
Tony and Pepper mentioning a kid isn't the only foreshadowing given for his survival, though. There was one line from Avengers that always stuck with me, and sort of got overshadowed by Tony's narcissistic but hilarious description of himself ("Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist."). It comes when Steve is criticizing Tony's character and motivation. He says:
"You're not the guy to make the sacrifice play. To lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you."
To which Tony immediately responds:
"I think I would just cut the wire."
Time and time again, Tony has proven Steve wrong, the first obviously being when he flew through the wormhole in the same movie. But what if this is his play in this one too? To be presented with a one-or-the-other choice for who can be saved, but manages to do both? Alternatively, this could also play out to the opposite of our favour; maybe Tony does finally just crawl over the wire for someone. For example, I've pictured a scenario where they do indeed go back in time to retrieve the stones before Thanos does. It's a plausible situation, considering we know nothing of their plan. But when it comes time to retrieve the soul stone, it's Tony who decides to make the sacrifice. Maybe he argues over it with Steve, who would want to finish what he started with Red Skull and complete the fate he was given 70 years ago, but ultimately Tony forces him to comply to what he wants, which is to finally make the ultimate sacrifice.
(And for the record, if either of those situations plays out, I'm suing Marvel for emotional distress)
But there's one other option, and it's based on a line spoken by Tony in the trailer that really stuck out to me. It was when he was leaving his message to Pepper in the second trailer, and it's where he says:
"I know I said no more surprises, but I was really hoping to pull off one last one."
At first thought, I thought it may be like a "Surprise, honey! I'm not dead, and I've returned to earth to help defeat that giant grape!" sort of thing. And maybe it is. But I've also considered the possibility of Tony tricking someone or something. Perhaps tricking those into thinking he was dead. He did do it in Iron Man 3. But then again...who knows.
Sidenote: That's the end of my first thought and everything on Tony, and I have, like, *at least* twelve more to go. I was not expecting this to be this huge. Whoops.
Steve
It is so hard to get a read on what the hell is happening with this damn character. On one hand, Chris Evans has been talking for the longest time as if we all already know that his characters dead, with the way he speaks about his wrap-up with Marvel in general. But then there are people like the Russo's who say they have things in store that we don't know about yet. Like what?? Who do we believe? Are they just trying to cover up his obviousness? Or are we, again, making predictions that we shouldn't because this movie is actually so unpredictable??
Obviously, I don't know what's going to happen. What I will say is, I know what the fanbase expects, and that's for him to die. But again, just like in Tony's case, if that's one of the top expected outcomes, isn't it less likely going to happen?
Personally, I'm in favour of one specific theory many fans have contemplated and considered. The theory is that Steve, whether it be a result of the plot or by choice, goes back in time to the '40s, and that's where he lives out the rest of his life. He has his dance with Peggy, something foreshadowed so many times, including in the trailers, and they end up living together happily, and he endures the life he always wanted before going in the ice - that is how he phrased it at the end of Age of Ultron. So yes, he would most likely be "dead" in the present day from old age, as would Peggy (since she had already died in Civil War), but he would live out the life he always wanted.
OR - and I just thought of this now, literally as I'm writing - get this. He goes back to live in the '40s. But in present day, he's still alive, just very old. The Avengers (or whoever's left) go to see him by the end of the movie, maybe even during the after credits. And...it's Stan Lee. He is Steve Rogers. His final cameo.
(This seems highly unlikely, but the thought amused me. I also can't remember if the super soldier serum allows you to age properly in normal circumstances, but I don't wanna look it up at the risk of running into spoilers. Oh well, unresearched theory is unresearched.)
Thor
Don't get me wrong, I am still very much in the mindset of:
Tumblr media
But if I'm being completely honest, yes, Thor, just like every other O6, the God of Thunder known by humans for his immortality, has a chance of not making it. With talks of a Thor 4 with dir. Taika Waititi, it seems unlikely, but the chance is still there. And it did get me thinking...
Loki telling him before his death, "The sun will shine on us again"...did he mean in Valhalla? I have had the thought of Thor possibly biting it, but then a scene where we see him there, reuniting with Loki, Heimdall, Frigga...even Odin. His loved ones. The ones he thought he could not go on without, finally being together again, him being happy in the afterlife.
It's a sucky thought, but a possible one.
Loki
Soooo...here we are. I'm not going over my whole freaking theory again, but I stand by what I wrote. Including the portion with the disclaimer where I established that I could be totally wrong.
But a possibility I also totally support is one where he is brought back with time travel. Why would he have a poster if he doesn't make a reappearance? What that reappearance is, I have no idea. Maybe, just like the comics, he does purposely bring the Avengers together in New York. Or maybe it's something heartfelt at the end, where time has rolled back, and it's immediately following Ragnarok. Thor is aware of the reverse, and everything that's happened, and Loki saunters into the dressing room again and makes the comment on Thor's eyepatch, but Thor is just so happy to see him, that he just hugs him, as it was foreshadowed in Ragnarok, and all is well, and they live happily ever after in Norway on Earth ruling Asgard together...
Idk. Just a thought.
A Cinematic Parallel
So this was just something I noticed when comparing the Infinity War and Endgame trailers.
So remember in the Infinity War trailer, where we see Tony just sitting with his hands folded over and we were like "huh wonder why they're covered in dirt", and then it turned out it was cause Peter just died, and it was his dust, and we all had a good laugh/cry when looking back on it.
Well...you know that moment in the Endgame trailer when Steve is covered in what looks to be sweat and dirt and he tightens his shield around his arm or something, and looks to be in extreme anguish over...something?
Well... I think that's our one glimpse at the end, just as Tony's was in the Infinity War trailer. I think someone just died in that moment.
That's literally it for that.
Death
We don't know who's going to die. We don't. And we don't know how. But that fact that the Russo's, Paul Rudd, and Chris Evans have been openly joking about character deaths is a definite indicator that whoever and however they go is not going to be mainstream. Like, I don't think it's going to be a Loki-type death, or the Tony-almost-death, where the character is just too overpowered by Thanos, or whoever else, and they die as a result. It's going to be complex. Or a decision the character makes that is self-sacrificing. Or something similar to the Steve time travel theory. But whatever it is, it is likely incredibly hard to guess.
Time Travel
The theories of time travel that have been circulating since the debut of Ant-Man and the Wasp are still just that - theories. I'll be honest, I'm still not 100% sure how the quantum realm can possibly assist them, other than getting them stuck in a time vortex. And even still, the operators of said quantum realm machine are dusted. That's all we have to go off of; that, obvious hair and suit changes throughout the trailers and set photos, and, of course, the fact that there are limited options as to how they can actually succeed at this point.
The Suits
Honestly, I just included this section to make fun of their new suits some more. They are so freaking ugly, it's hilarious. I remember when the photos of them were first leaked, everyone laughed and said it was too ugly to be real, yet HERE WE ARE.
So you can imagine how hard I laughed when I saw the second trailer for the first time, and how conflicted I was over how cool their "walk" was, but how gross the suits were.
Some actual memes I saved before the official release of the suits:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bonus: Something I saved literally last November. And we're about to find out in less than two days...God, I'm not ready.
Tumblr media
Prospective Scenes
There were a couple of scenes other than those I've already listed that would be incredibly satisfying to see.
Firstly, Tony and Pepper's wedding.
I always pictured it as the after credits scene. A final symbol of rest, retirement, and relaxation for Tony. And everyone's there, too. The rest of the O6, but also Peter and May, Happy, Rhodey, Sam, Wanda, the Guardians, T'Challa, Shuri, and their friends, Bucky, Dr. Strange (both reluctantly), Wong (of course), and the rest of their friends and (remaining) family. Everyone's watching as the shot is on them. And standing behind them, telling Tony he may kiss the bride, is the minister - Stan Lee. His final cameo.
(Or at least the one I originally had in mind).
The perfect ending for the perfect character arc. And oh, how unlikely it is to happen.
I'm also curious to know, now that it's confirmed, how the story will reintroduce Valkyrie, who happens to be one of my favourite characters, and also who may have escaped with her (hopefully with one of my other favourite characters...).
But there is a scene which we know for a fact is going to happen, and may have gotten a glimpse of during the final trailer, with the shot of Rocket and Nebula sitting somberly and holding hands. It's Rocket finding out that the other Guardian's didn't survive. Since separating from the other Guardians in Infinity War, Rocket did not know of their outcome, and there was no one to relay the message. That...is going to be heartbreaking to watch. Especially after seeing Rocket's character development in GOTG 2.
Prospective Dialogue
Just like certain scenes, there are lines that would be amazing to hear from specific characters.
The first, and probably most popular and obvious, is, of course:
"Avengers Assemble"
If Cap doesn't finally deliver this line with so much passion in this goddamned movie...
But then there was also a line of my personal preference that I really wanted to be heard in the movie, especially if it was said by either Tony, or Steve, or both of them to Thanos. And it's...:
"Because if we can't protect the Earth, you can be damn well sure we'll avenge it."
Which is why I was SO HYPED BUT ANNOYED when I heard it in the trailer because so much of that content isn't going to make it into the movie.
I guess we'll see.
The Stones
So a common...what would you call it...theme, I guess? I've noticed is the correlation between the Avengers and the infinity stones. There are, of course, the six original Avengers left, and six stones. Each Avenger happens to almost perfectly fit into the representation of each stone.
Thor is the Space Stone - Probably most obvious. The Tesseract came from his family, and he has done space travel all his life.
Steve is the Time Stone - As he is "the man out of time".
Banner is the Mind Stone - A scientific genius, yet can't control his own mind.
Barton is the Reality Stone - He conceals his reality - his family - from the rest of his life and his world.
Natasha is the Power Stone - Often viewed as the weak link, even by allies (ie. Scott in Civil War), yet probably one of the strongest and most powerful team members, both physically, and mentally.
And finally - Tony is the Soul Stone - The godfather and soul of the team.
I don't know what this means for Endgame, if it means anything at all. It was just something I noticed.
Fate
There is one last theme I've come to notice throughout the original six, and it's the fact that each of them had their fate severely altered, almost unnaturally, to end up where they are in Endgame.
Tony, of course, almost died in a cave after being kidnapped by terrorists. He only built the Mark 1 suit to escape, and nearly died in the process of that. If he did not go to Afghanistan for the weapons presentation, not only would he not be Iron Man, but he would not be with Pepper, and he would still be manufacturing weapons - or worse, Obidiah would've had him killed another way.
Steve, of course, was selected to be the test subject of the super soldier serum, but that's not what altered his fate. He was destined for that for his grit and determination alone. His fate was altered when he survived something he shouldn't have - When he came out of the ice alive. None - and I mean none - of the events within the Avengers, SHIELD, or anything could have happened if he had died as he was supposed to.
With Bruce, you'd think I would refer to his gamma experiment in general, but that's not it either. That was also destined, similar to Steve's experiment. His is mentioned more briefly in Avengers, and it's the fact that he tried to kill himself. His attempt backfired, as he says he immediately transformed into the Hulk and thus, survived. But his intent was there, and if not for the quick reflexes and will to live of the Hulk (something that was NOT demonstrated in Infinity War, mind you), he would be gone.
Clint's and Natasha's basically go hand-in-hand. In Avengers, we find out that Clint was sent to kill Natasha, as she was part of the KGB. Natasha, in return, would have to try and kill Clint, not that it would have been different from any other enemy of theirs at the time. But because Clint made the call to try and reason with her and get her to turn, they both came out alive rather than the false dichotomy of a situation that would have left at least one of them dead.
And finally, there's Thor. His is a bit trickier to pinpoint because although he's been in death-defying situations, it's unclear if he's ever come close to death like a mortal would. But it's Thor who actually describes this fate that got me thinking about this theme in the first place, as he tells Rocket in Infinity War:
"You know, I'm 1500 years old. I've killed twice as many enemies as that, and every one of them would have rather killed me, but none succeeded. I'm only alive because fate wants me alive."
Fate wants him alive. And apparently it wants the other five alive as well. Otherwise, three of them would be dust, based on probability of the snap. But all six of them remain.
Again, I have no idea what this means for Endgame. I'm just pointing out what I believe to be significant.
Wow, so those are a lot more thoughts than I thought I'd have...this took about 3 hours to write, lol. So I think I'm going to leave it at that, and find out what happens on Thursday. I am in no way ready for it to all be over. And I've never been so terrified to watch a movie. And I've never had to consider that this might be the final 48 hours of a characters life.
This is going to be big. And I can't wait. But goddamn I am so scared.

I really want to be done with this, since of the people who actually follow me they’re not Marvel centric and who wants to see a bunch of opinion blogs about a movie they probably haven’t even seen, but oh my gosh, I just want to talk about the scene where they try to give Tony a mini heart attack and everyone just wants to complain about petty things instead.
Lemme talk about why You Are Wrong about hating certain things in Endgame, cuz at least that’s a thing I do in Naruto and other fandoms too. Spoilers.
To be clear, I’m sad about the deaths. I’m especially broken-hearted about Steve, because it’s not possible for Falcon to replace him, so there’s no point even trying. Tony is a bummer, but he’s basically just RDJ, so we’ll still see him being Sherlock and typecast as Tony Stark like figures. All Tony Stark adaptations will be made to copy him still, he’s not really gone. Part of why Captain is gone is because Chris Evans doesn’t want to be him anymore, so that death just feels much more real. You can’t replace the quintessential boy scout from the 30s with...anyone, really.
I’m also sad about the pseudo-deaths, but. Despite that, I don’t agree with the movie complaints. Let’s get into those.
First: No, there wasn’t really any other way for Tony to end. RDJ has been done with the character since IM3, he’s been trying to write him out over and over and just can’t. “He’s retired” can’t work when they have no Tony replacement and go up against world-ending threats, and I don’t think he wants to be tied down to cameos and phone-ins. Death was the only answer for his character. As much as I hate losing Captain, that was a similar situation. Unless they replaced those actors - and that’s tough, especially in RDJ’s case - the characters needed to go with their actors, and their roles/personalities were such that anything but death wouldn’t do that.
We’ll get back to why those were the best endings they could give the characters while still being abrupt and sad, and making it feel like there was actual loss and sacrifice required, but let’s meander over to Thor briefly because his is somewhat shorter.
Buzzfeed woman: If you cannot handle TV shows that have fat characters or fat jokes, please seek counseling and get help.  It sounds like you have some serious issues with your self image and self confidence, and frankly it’s just not a good thing if your entire day is ruined and you’re dropped into a depression because you hear someone make a joke that’s not even about you. Don’t blame other people and expect them to change for you, because they won’t. Seek to be more secure in yourself.
Everyone else: The reason why Thor seems ‘diminished’ all movie is the same reason why Captain Marvel isn’t there 90% of the movie - no, no, not because they just shoved him into the plot at the last minute to promote his movie, the other reason  - he’s just too strong. This is a recurring issue for him in Avengers movies, and they may try to just de-Avenger him going forward to avoid this in the future. Avengers movies are ensembles, everyone is supposed to be necessary, but to set the enemies to a level where people like Black Widow are useful means that Thor could shrug and wipe out most of them except for the boss. And sometimes even the big bad isn’t that scary - CM and Thor could both take down Thanos without infinity stones just too easily, and the plot needed to believably take the heroes from ‘completed gauntlet’ to ‘Thanos has the gauntlet’, which is a lot harder than IW where he was always 2-3 steps and stones ahead.
Fat Thor worked double-purpose to explore the crushing guilt and issues with Thor - he was barely hanging by a thread in IW, losing at the end of it and then having it confirmed at the start of Endgame that there was no hope was too much - and sidelining him most of the movie. It weakened him because he no longer had the focus to just lightning blast Thanos’ army into dust and he was physically out of shape and so not as strong as he was before, making Thanos an equal enemy to him again. Because he was physically unimposing, the Avengers didn’t lean on him and expect him to do everything, which allowed him to go and face his mother again, which allowed him to get the hammer and dual-wield, confirm he was still worthy, and give Steve that moment everyone had so badly wanted to see for years (as Steve’s swan song). The story was never about how Thor was still just as strong even out of shape, because the point is that his own self-loathing and inability cope was destroying him and he needed to heal from that before he could even begin to recover. GotG3 or T4 will be about Thor regaining all that. Endgame was about Thor finally coming to grips with the overwhelming weight of guilt that had been ruining and driving him for several movies now.
And in the end, even once he was able to snap out of his funk and start recovering, he didn’t magically shed all that weight and get back into fighting fit. (That, too, is something for GotG3 and/or T4) Because recovery is still a process that takes time. In my opinion, the way they have Thor deal with his trauma and guilt is as realistic as they had Tony deal with it.
As for the ‘fat jokes’, that’s just taking things out of context. It ignores all the other serious things that Avengers makes jokes about. They always inject levity into things and seek comedy where they can, because the plots are usually so heavy that if they don’t, the movie becomes depressing and draining. In IW/Endgame this is especially so, because so many people die and so much is lost. Fat!Thor and the Fortnite game moments are some of the only opportunities they have to put some humor in. And the Avengers use insulting humor toward each other quite often. War Machine calls Peter - who was at that time dead and had serious issues he was grappling with himself - an idiot because he’s dancing along on a planet to music on headphones. Bucky calls Steve stupid knowing this would be the last time he saw him (at least at that age). Basically, the jokes were necessary to keep the movie from choking on its own darkness and they were in-character (plus, indicators of the fact that they didn’t trust Thor to be the responsible party, forcing other characters to have a role instead, and keeping Thor from any responsibility later for “why didn’t he use the stones to--”)
So. Yes, it’s disappointing that Thor didn’t really get to flex, but at least he was present, and it’s allowed him to begin to heal from the trauma conga line he’s been on ever since Thor 1. It’s really not an issue that people make it out to be, and it seems like people are just being overly specific in their sensibilities. Make fun of Thor’s long hair, his missing eye, his cluelessness about the modern world? That’s fine. Make fun of Rocket when he’s the product of horrific experiments? That’s fine. Make fun of any number of serious issues, or just insult their friends in some humorous way? All okay. Make fat jokes? SUDDENLY it’s just not okay and super mean!
Don’t read too much into things like that.  Like the buzzfeed woman claiming his mother ‘nastily’ told him to eat a salad. She was just being a mother, looking at a son who five minutes ago seemed to be in his prime and now had completely collapsed and was desperately looking for direction from her. She must have gathered that at least from his perspective he’d never get to see her again, so it was effectively the last advice she’d give him. “Eat a salad!” is just “Take care of yourself, eat well, please!” in the gentlest, shortest way possible. Don’t be like that woman. Don’t read malice where it isn’t.
MOVING ON.
Tony and Steve.
I know, it’s sad. But these were the most logical conclusions to their stories, both from their own perspective and when you consider how their characters were juxtaposed off of each other. Ignoring for a moment the actor situation, the characters needed to die because if they didn’t we’d just end up with a Battle of Winterfell situation where everything was set up to look hopeless but then things worked out so no one important died. (except Heimdall. Poor Heimdall, he didn’t get snapped or brought back via time shenanigans. I’m guessing he got the fatal Actor’d, since Idris didn’t like being him)
So, knowing that they had to kill one, and therefore because of their connection in the movies it had to be both, let’s look at why they were the most reasonable and perfect deaths to give them under the circumstances while still remaining sad. “And then they lived to death” is hard to do if it’s not Doctor Who, so it’s not really an easy ending to write for a character you need to immediately exit the franchise.
Tony.
Finally we resolve the plot with Pepper. They get married, they have a child, they have five years living together married- this is on top of the eleven years they’ve been in a relationship since Iron Man, and the years before that of flirtatious tension and a relationship that’s non-romantic. Five years was just the time they had living a domestic and quiet life, raising their child, not the complete length of their life. Tony got to live with the love of his life and finally do something right, and in the end Pepper gave him the go-ahead to risk not only himself but their whole family to protect the rest of the universe.
In the end, he ‘fixed’ his failure from IW, defeating Thanos personally. He was the one responsible for the timeline being ‘the one’ where they succeed. He finally found some peace with his father and history, he created something beautiful - for once, he left a legacy that wasn’t death and destruction or weapons, but a sweet little girl who will make the world a better and brighter place.
And Tony made that full circle from the first story, affirming that it was never the suit, but Tony Stark, who made Iron Man. He is Iron Man. Those are his last words, and part of the gruesome death was there to ensure they were. Though there’s also something powerful about him saying nothing and snapping his fingers instead like they’d originally written it to be. But, look. Tony Stark was a man who sent weapons all over the world, caused thousands, if not millions to die because of those weapons and then changed due to the guilt of realizing what he’d done. His character has basically been caught in a loop ever since of trying to fix things by creating more weapons to protect people instead and just causing more death and more harm in the process.
Finally, though, with a snap of his fingers and the cost of his own life...he made an army disappear. He saved not just half the universe this time, but literally all of it, every single being alive can thank Tony for it (ignoring the celestial beings who would have stopped Thanos but shh, MCU hasn’t introduced those). Look at the symbolic nature of Tony Stark being the one to turn an army - and all of their weapons - into dust in a moment. He saved everyone, and he finally erased the ugly stain of his weapons from the world in one fell swoop. Symbolically, this is the most perfect way to end his character, and something the comics will never be able to give Tony.
In a more practical sense, it was also necessary. He’d never be able to truly step away from being an Avenger. His own paranoia and sense of guilt means that no matter how much he’d want to live his own life, he’d always be dragged into things, risk his life again, and Pepper + Morgan would constantly have to worry about whether he’d come back or not. And he’d mess up again. He’s too afraid of the future, needed too much to control things. Ultron would happen again. The Superhero Registration would happen again. Especially when/if Steve would die, there’s no one holding him back anymore. Narratively, his story needed to be finished, especially if he was going to be the one to snap anyway. So yes. Death was the necessary price. And it did need to be that harsh, gruesome thing. Not just because we see over and over how painful it is to use those stones, but because this was a loss. His death was quick, but it wasn’t easy. The price that the universe paid to be saved was Tony Stark’s life, and him just vanishing afterward would have felt cheap and robbed the people around him of their closure.
And again, it worked perfectly as the counterpoint for Steve. His life was short but he died protecting everyone else. He died so that he didn’t have to watch anyone he loved die instead, and he died surrounded by the people he cared about, finally redeemed of his sins.
Then there’s Steve.
Now, I don’t think his death was necessary like Tony’s. But because Tony did die, it does make sense they might kill Steve too. And I don’t think anyone would question that if they chose to kill Steve in the battle against Thanos. But if they did that, someone would have been blamed. Carol, Thor, Scott, Tony, whoever. Someone would get the blame, and I think it would have been extremely demoralizing to see Captain America die during the battle, where morale was so paper thin already.
Plus, like I said, his needed to be a counterpoint to Tony.
Tony got to have his time with the love of his life, but then cut it short for the sake of everyone in the universe, died young, before anyone else, sacrificed etc. It fit his personality, his fast-paced, short tempered quippy self.
Steve is the one with the unnaturally long life, forced to live for over a hundred years and losing everyone and everything around him. Peggy is the love of his life, and unlike Tony he had to watch her transform from a young woman to an old frail thing who had moved on without him, and then eventually die while he was still in the prime of his youth. He has no future to look forward to. Because of his lifespan, all that’s going to happen is him watching his friends all die around him one by one, Nat, Tony, Sam, Bucky, Bruce, etc.
In the end, he’s finally given the opportunity to do the impossible: go back where he belongs. Go back to the world with everyone that he remembers and loves from his past. Go back to the woman whom he loves the most, who he’ll never truly move on from. Live, like Tony always told him to.
And so - with Bucky’s blessing, I’ll note - he does. Everything about Steve has been the displaced, long suffering soldier, and in his ending, he finally gets to come home from the war.  He already sacrificed himself and the love he should have had with Peggy way back in the First Avenger. He should have died in that ice, he planned to, just as Tony does. And thus, the only proper ending for Steve isn’t a heroic sacrifice - because he’s already made his - but being able to finally live the life that he gave up for the world. In a way, it’s Tony’s last gift to him, as Tony finally created a time machine to send Steve (who he weirdly thinks of as a friend) back where he belongs.
But even so, Steve is Steve. He got to live his life with Peggy and grow old, but he still watched her die. Again. He lost Peggy twice, and everyone he knew from that timeline  as well - not only did he leave it and all them behind, but most of those people would have died (I like to think he saved Howard Stark, though, for the Tony who never knew him and for that Bucky). And he’s still not dead. Which means he’s still living (at least until they say he died off-screen, anyway), and he may yet still watch more of his friends die around him before he can finally find his rest.
Basically, their endings are counterpoints to each other, and also perfect for themselves. Tony flares up bright and burns out in spectacular fashion saving the universe, and Steve is the long-burning candle, the last light that lingers in the darkness after everyone else flickers out, the one who can’t sacrifice himself even when he tries, and so all he can do is live until the end, and pass on his flame to someone else.
They’re both sad in different ways, and they’re both the best kind of ending the writers could have come up for those characters in particular.
and now a few quick rebuttals to the common complaints in particular:
Tony’s survivor’s guilt IS why he goes back to save Peter and the others even at his own personal risk. Anyone else would have refused to help or even actively interfered, because the risk of losing their child would be too much. The risk of failing and still losing their child, when the world was continuing on without any future danger to it, would just be too much.
And that’s another reason he died. The guilt would have eaten him alive if anyone else had snapped and saved the universe for him.
Thor was not ‘fine’ in Infinity War. He was clinging to the thin hope that he could stop Thanos because he was essentially destined to stop Thanos. He had to believe that he had a greater purpose and everything happened the way it did because it had to. He’d been clinging to that for a long time, in fact, and when he failed to kill Thanos, failed to save everyone, that hope was ripped away from him. He didn’t just collapse because he failed Thanos, he became lost and adrift because everything that he built his identity around vanished and he didn’t know who or what he was supposed to be or do anymore. He needed his mother to tell him to be who he is and not who he’s supposed to be to save him from that. And he still remarks at the end that “I’ve never had nothing to do before, I’m not sure what to do with that.”
I wrote a bunch of stuff about why Steve isn’t being selfish and all of those quibbles are silly, but then accidentally lost that, and I don’t feel like rewriting it. Other people have covered that anyway. Steve isn’t being selfish. He creates a world line where everyone gets to be happy, and in the end he gives that up so that he can give his friends closure again, and spend time with them in his twilight. They didn’t lose Steve, he just aged to the point he should have been.
Avengers Endgame timeline isn’t complicated, it’s very simple. I’ll make that a separate post though. In short: they use the world lines theory Steins;Gate uses, so paradoxes are functionally impossible. They literally cannot happen.

Marvel asks: All of them! Sorry, can't choose! ^^'
AAAAARRRGGHHHH!!!  Well that’ll larn me!
Marvel asks
Tony Stark: favorite movie?
Close call; I’m very fond of “Avengers Assemble”, “Thor” and “CA:TWS”, but the one that has wowed me the most of all was “Black Panther”, which took everything to a new level of brilliance.
Drax: what character would you wanna be friends with?
I’m going to make this “characterS” and say Jane Foster, Aunt May, and General Okoye.  A lot of my other faves probably wouldn’t be so easy to be friends with (too prickly, messed-up, hyper-focussed, downright dangerous, etc) but I would love to be mates with these three!
Valkyrie: favorite director?
Ryan Coogler, no question!
Pepper Potts: top 3 fave characters
Ugh, very hard to choose!  Most of our protagonists are pretty cool, in their different ways.  Let’s pick three of the women; Okoye, Gamora, Natasha.  But I could just as easily have said Nakia, Hope and Hawkeye.  Or Rocket, Groot and Shuri.  Or...
Yeah, very hard to choose.
Sam Wilson: funniest scene?
Unlike a lot of people I loathed the relentless humour in “Ragnarok”.  So I’m going to say, Sam and Cap’s first meeting in TWS, which is gentle and kind, and character-driven.
And (although it’s rather sick humour) “He’s adopted” is very funny.
Bucky Barnes: most heartbreaking moment?
The bit in TWS when the pilots try to take off and provide air support and are shot down before they can get to their planes.  Reduces me to tears every time.
Nakia: character you wish had a bigger role?
I want to see more of Shuri!
Rocket Racoon: best nickname?
I don’t think I know the scripts well enough!  “Legolas”, possibly?
Natasha Romanoff: favorite ass kicking scene?
Another one that’s very hard to choose.
Natasha’s first scene, maybe, when she’s barefoot and unarmed and still beats the shit out of half a dozen brawny guys.  It’s such a great use of an action scene to establish character.  I also love her fight with possessed!Hawkeye.
But on the other hand, the Dora Milje’s team fighting style is unbelievably awesome...
Ned Leeds: favorite villain?
Killmonger, no contest.  He’s rounded, believable, well-motivated, and even though you know he’s wrong you empathise with him.  Masterclass in how to write a top-notch antagonist.
I also really liked Toomes/Vulture in “Spiderman Homecoming”.  Again, because he had good motivation and was an interesting rounded character, not a cardboard “I wanna rule/destroy the world >snarl snarl
Bruce Banner: guardians or avengers?
For sheer fun, Guardians.  But I’m enjoying seeing them all meet up!
Thor Odinson: most attractive character?
Still Hawkeye.  Give me those Renner arms.
Gamora: favorite pairing?
As in Ship?  T’Challa/Nakia, and Gamora/Peter Q.
As in Best mates?  Rocket & Groot, Peggy & Jarvis, and Peter P & Ned.
Mantis: what do you think will happen in Avengers 4?
I’m with @hanorganaas on this; it’ll have to involve time travel in some form, to bring back at least some of those lost.  Also I have it on good authority from @spectralarchers that Hawkeye will come back as Ronin.  And clearly a certain Carol Danvers is going to be involved.
There’ll be an opening section where the traumatised survivors are trying to regroup in a shattered world.  Somehow or other the script will have to contrive another “lowest ebb” moment even lower than the end of “Infinity War” (& I don’t envy the people tasked with that!) because that’s how script dynamics work.  But ultimately the big purple knob-head will be defeated.
Shuri: most rewatched movie?
Either “Avengers assemble” or “Guardians of the Galaxy”; I haven’t kept count, but they are the ones I go back to for a happy evening slobbed out in front of the telly with a big bag of tortilla chips.
Peter Parker: best outfit/suit?
As a Superhero Suit, I love the Ant-man suit!
As actual wearable clothes, I’d like to have Gamora’s leathers, especially the red coat; practical and sexy.
Happy Hogan: what ‘superpower’ is the coolest?
Well, I’ve always wanted to be able to fly, so any of the superpowers that give you that would be great!
I also love the way Mantis’ abilities take something that culturally is just expected of “nice good girls” (being empathetic, reading others emotions and reactions, being able to soothe down even the most aggressive person) and make it a fucking superpower!
Aunt may: most painful death?
After those brave pilots in TWS?  Pietro.  Really didn’t see that one coming.
Pietro Maximoff: Peter Quill or Peter Parker?
Aww, don’t make me chose!  Quill is so cute!
I was never a Peter Parker fan until Tom Holland but now - ok, Peter Parker.
Heimdall: would you like a Deadpool crossover?
Properly done, then hell yeah!  But it would need a very, very good script to juggle the emotional/tonal switchbacks required.
Steve Rogers: who resembles their role the most?
From what we get to see as fans?  I’d have to go with Chris Evans.
Rhodey: who resembles their role the least?
Karen Gillan certainly doesn’t sound much like Nebula!
T’challa: favorite non-romantic pairing?
I’ve already suggested a couple of Best-mates relationships; so how about some siblings?  Gamora and Nebula; so much tension, so much anger and yet so much torn, blood-soaked loyalty.  It’s just as interesting a dynamic as the one between Thor and Loki, with a lot less screentime than that has had.
I also liked the sibling loyalty and love between Wanda and Pietro.  Always good to see a happy sibling relationship, when Screenwriting 101 would have it that only sibling rivalry is interesting...
Peter Quill: favorite place in the mcu?
That’s going to be a tie between Know-where, for the visuals, and Wakanda, for - well, everything really.
Loki laufeyson: best line/quote?
Ugh, there have been a lot of great lines.  Right now, I’m going to go with Okoye’s “For Wakanda?  Without question.”  Such a fantastic use of a single line to cement how her character is the embodiment of honour.
Scott Lang: do you think you’d have died in the snap?
Hmm.  I kind of hope I would, to be honest; life afterwards is going to be spectacularly hellish until they manage to fix it.
Stephen strange: favorite song used?
The opening of “Guardians of the Galaxy”, with Quill slogging through the rain and then putting on “Come and get your love” on his walkman and starting to dance.  Just gorgeous; as a sequence, as framing, as a way of telling us something about him very economically, as a device to show us this is going to be a hell of a fun ride...
Phil Coulson: the moment you fell in love with your favorite character?
Seeing as I find it impossibly difficult to pick a favourite in the first place, this is one I can’t answer!
Okoye: which movies did you see in cinema?
All of them bar the first two “Iron Man” films.
Maria Hill: favorite special credits?
What, as in “Mr Evans’ marmalade sandwiches made by” kind of thing?  I’m not sure I pay enough attention to the credits to have ever noticed one (I made that one up, needless to say).
Or are “special credits” like cameos?  A nod to the mourners for Yondu, then.
Erik Killmonger: favorite press moment/interview
Way back during the press tour for “Avengers assemble”; a journalist asked RDJ in-depth questions on Tony’s motivation and development, and then only asked Scarlett Johansson some ridiculous thing about her diet; and instead of answering with a patient smile she called him out on it.
It was only, what, five years ago, yet it was almost unheard-of then for a female actor to bite back publically like that.  And the good thing is, that already seems pretty extraordinary.
Wanda Maximoff: favorite relationship of the actors?
I don’t know enough about their relationships to have one, really.
Nebula: favorite minor character?
Luis.  An “ordinary person” character who is highly likeable in his own right and who does the right thing even when he knows it’s bloody dangerous & could get him killed.  For similar reasons I’m also very fond of Cameron Klein and Dr Helen Cho.
Vision: Steve with or without a beard?
Without, definitely.  Not a great fan of beards to be honest.  There’s the odd face that looks great with one (thinking of a certain Mexican actor and rare fern collector) but mostly they’re just fashionable face-fur.
Nick Fury: what actor would you like to see join the mcu and for what role?
On one level, I’m content to wait and see what they come up with.  I’m not a comic-reader, so I know almost nothing about any of the characters until they appear in the MCU, which makes dream-casting any of them pretty difficult.
On the other hand, I did read a rumour that John Boyega is in line for a future role; and as I’m a huge fan of his I would love for that to be true!
Hope Van Dyne: expectations for ‘Captain Marvel’?
As a non-comics person, I don’t know anything about the character or her story.  Hopefully we’ll get an interesting, well-rounded female lead with solid motivation and her plot-line isn’t primarily about a) a man or b) not being able to have children.  Or c) her children being dead.
Groot: I am Groot?
We are Groot.
Grandmaster: which characters would you like to see interact more?
Shuri with all the scientists!
Peggy Carter: Hulk or Banner?
Both.  Both is good.
Luis: favorite Chris?
I’m sure they’re all lovely chaps.
Michelle Jones: would you like a Black Widow movie?
I’d like to see lots of the female characters get stand-alone films.  So, yes please to a “Black Widow” movie, but also, hmm, let’s see; how about a “Shuri and Jane Foster Science the Shit Out Of This Mess” movie?  A “Peggy Carter and the early days of SHIELD” movie?  A “Nakia the Super-spy” movie?
Sif: long hair Thor or short hair Thor?
Long hair.  Markedly more appealing with long hair.
Jane Foster: favorite character development?
I love the way Steve Rogers’ story kind-of goes in cycles of effort and hope and bitter experience, and always comes back round to situations where he affirms who he essentially is.  It’s good to see a non-liner pattern of development like that, which is much closer to how real people deleop and change, instead of the standard narrative “A to B” model like Dr Strange (”was a jerk, learned to do better” - okay, he saves the world, so that’s good; but as for development, pish).
Yondu: favorite after-credit scene?
The Shawarma joint.
Also Hope seeing the Wasp suit for the first time.
Wong: favorite marvel intro?
Not sure I pay that much attention to the intros, tbh.  I’m just sitting there thinking “Give me the story, folks!”
Thank you for asking! - and thank you, if you’ve had the patience to slog through all this, for reading!

Gobsmacked - Tom Cavanagh x Reader, Chris Evans x Reader
A/N: Welcome to Ficmas day 3!
I had a couple of Tom Cavanagh requests, only one of which had a kind of plot, so I’ve put those requests together and this is the result!
The tennis thing, sure I can do that but I think making the reader German would exclude a huge portion of the audience - so for that reason I haven’t included a nationality for the reader. Hope that’s alright!
Summary: You are a rising Tennis star who is dating Tom Cavanagh and is also best friends with Chris Evans. When the two of them have to work together, tension arises.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
During the USA Open tennis tournament, you had met a man. That man was actor Tom Cavanagh. The two of you became fast friends, he was a tennis enthusiast and you were a fan of the TV show he was on, The Flash.
While you were touring the circuit a few years ago, you had met many an actor. Anyone and everyone seemed to me interested in your sport. One of those other actors was Chris Evans. You had also quickly become friends with Chris, although the connection wasn’t quite the same as the one you had with Tom. There was no denying Chris was a very fine man, but the attraction was purely physical. It was different with Tom, the two of you connected on every level.
During the course of the tournament, Tom had taken you out on a date to celebrate your rise to stardom. It had only escalated from there. As you were still training and playing, alcohol was off the table. This meant that you and Tom got to know each other on a more personal level. You traded stories and laughed the night away. “I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone so fascinating!” Tom said, staring deep into your eyes. You couldn’t hide the grin that covered your face. “There’s nothing fascinating about me, I live and breathe Tennis.” You replied modestly. “Fascinating.”
After the tournament, you met up with Chris for a few drinks to celebrate your first major victory. You had invited Tom, but he said he “didn’t want to be a third wheel to your friendship.” The two of you were exclusive; he knew there was nothing to worry about. “So there’s something I need to tell you,” Chris muttered almost inaudibly. You had no idea what was going next, but you certainly didn’t think the next words to come out of his mouth would be “I’m going to be in a new movie, with your boyfriend.” “No way, that’s great!” You squealed placing your hands on his biceps with pure joy spread across your face. What felt like an eternity passed and Chris hadn’t said a word. “Isn’t it?” You added. “I mean, I guess.” He shrugged. “It’s just that- you know what, forget it, it is great.” Suddenly his tone went from ‘genuine hurt’ to ‘fake upbeat’. “Chris, you’re my best friend,” you said very seriously. “If there’s something you want to say to me, just say it.” “Fine, if you really want to hear it -” Chris took a huge gulp of his drink - “you’re too young for him Y/N.” He began to search your face for an indication of what you were going to say. Only it was proving impossible, you were stonewalling him.
Weeks later and you hadn’t seen Chris since that night. You didn’t tell Tom what had happened, they had to work together and you didn’t want to cause tension. “I thought friends were supposed to be supportive of each other’s relationships.” Tom stated during one if your nightly phone calls. “What are you on about?” you questioned him. “Well your so called best friend seems to have it in for me” “I’m still not following you” the confusion in your voice said it all. He let out a disgruntled sigh and just said “Chris hates me.”
For the duration of the time they spent filming together, Tom spent your conversations talking through all the reasons Chris could possibly have to dislike him. You sat listening to him, never once telling him the real reason. That was something that needed to be discussed between the two of them, preferably while you were nowhere to be found. When the time came for the press tour, Tom was reluctant to attend. Things were tense between him and Chris, and everyone could see that. Thankfully, they didn’t have to do any interviews together. That was, until the mix up. Towards the end of the press tour, there had been a scheduling error. The two of them were forced to attend the interview together, despite protests from both parties. For the most part, everything was going swimmingly. Chris made a few snarky comments, but tom just brushed them off. That was until the interviewer asked “So how do you guys deal with being away from your families for so long?” An innocent enough question under normal circumstances, but these were as far away as you could get from normal circumstances. “Well, I’m happy as long as I can face time my dog!” Chris laughed. “Yeah, I mean I speak to my girlfriend every night so-” Chris let out a huge puff of air and rolled his eyes. “Okay dude, what the hell is your problem?” Tom asked. “I really don’t think this is the time or place” Chris raised an eyebrow. “I really don’t care; I’m sick of this shit so what the hell is it?” Tom pushed. “You really want to know my problem?” Chris paused, “you. You’re my fucking problem.” Tom’s mouth gaped open, waiting for Chris to finish explaining. “You and her, it’s not right.” He was practically screaming. “She’s far too young for you, she should be with someone else, someone closer to her own age, someone-” “Someone like you?” Tom cut him off. “Fuck off man, this whole thing has been about Y/N? God, you’re such a child, you think she’d be better off with you when you act like that? I love her more than anything and…” Tom paused and rose up out of his seat, “and I’m planning to spend the rest of my life with her if she will let me, so I’m glad we got this out of the way, at least now we can all just move on.” Tom took the moral high ground and exited the interview. Leaving Chris and the interviewer sat there, gobsmacked.
