"There you are human! Listen I got somethin' to tell ya." He's leaning onto the wall with every other step to make his way over to you. "It's important." When he gets close, you stand next to him, letting him put some of his weight onto you instead.
"Okay." You have no idea what he's going to say. Especially when he's taking a deep breath and seems to be giving himself an internal pep talk before speaking again.
"I'm in love with you." To which you laugh, much to his confusion.
"Mammon, you're drunk."
"And in love, please give me your number.” He tries again, making you laugh even harder.
“We’re dating.” You eventually say, and he almost falls over in surprise.
"Wait actually?"
"Uh huh. We have been for months now." His eyes are wide as he tries to remember when this occurred.
"Really?"
"Yep."
"How'd I manage that?"
"You tell me."
"Nah there's no way. You're just so, perfect." You laugh again, shaking your head as you start to guide him to bed and his steps are all wobbly. Wondering as more compliments to you fall out of him in drunken rambles, if he'll even remember all this in the morning.
He does. He very much does. Sending you pleading messages when he eventually crawls out of bed to never bring this up again.

The amount of sighs you normally hear have doubled, you can’t recall a time this week where you haven’t spotted him rubbing his temples, one night he almost passed out as you embraced him upon welcoming him back home. And not to mention the varying between having a short temper and no energy to be angry at all. “Let’s have a movie night so you can destress.” You told him, and with little argument he agreed.
But he isn’t sure what wrapping him up in several blankets is supposed to do. You claimed that some people find the compression comforting, he isn’t sure he feels the same way. “Was it really necessary to wrap me in all the blankets like a burrito?” His questioning doesn’t faze you, as you continue your search for a movie.
“I’m just trying to help you relax, you’ll see how it helps.” He doesn’t question your motives further, instead trying to settle in with the blankets wrapped around him while you pick a movie. When you do find one, you’re pressing play as you sit down beside him. For the first five minutes he followed along, only for his eyes to start feeling heavy, the need for sleep sneaking up on him. But he’s determined to continue watching. Lucifer is furious, however, he can’t decide who he should direct his anger to. Perhaps Asmodeus? Who helped you sneak out to a bar in the human world, completely ignoring Lucifer’s messages of asking where exactly you both were. Or maybe even you, for also ignoring his messages, staying out until unreasonable hours of morning and returning back, reeking of alcohol, clinging to Asmodeus’ arm. Or himself. As when he asked the others if they knew of your whereabouts. Satan was the only one to reply yes, but refused to answer where. "Maybe you should ask yourself why they might have decided to go somewhere, without letting you know." A very sharp reply, that stung enough to make Lucifer hold his tongue.
He decides to keep his anger thinly veiled for the moment, sending Asmo to his room with a glare, who softly pats your back and murmurs to you. “Let me know if you need anything sweetie.” Before pushing past his elder brother. And as for you, he’s grabbed you by the hand, directing you to the kitchen to drink water. Not a word between either of you exchanged as he marches and you stumble next to him. Only when you appear to sober up enough to walk, does he speak to you.
"Do you know how worried I've been?" He hisses, as you lean against the kitchen counter, drinking another glass of water that he forced upon you. You take a gulp of the water, before slamming it down, spilling most of its contents. A glare matching the intensity of his own, greeting him before you speak.
"Probably not in the slightest." Your sentence is broken up by a bitter laugh, it isn’t until you continue when he begins to notice the amount of poison underlying your tone. "In fact I bet you were so not worried that you got work done." The sudden jab surprises him, the heat behind your narrowed glare growing. He’s stunned.
"Excuse me?” Is all he manages, racking his brain to figure how he could have even given you such an impression. He understands that there have been occasions where he’s had to miss spending time with you to finish tasks and to go to meetings, but you’ve always assured him it’s fine. That you didn’t mind, staying up late, or missing reservations on his behalf. That bitter laugh of yours makes a return.
“Diavolo sure is lucky that you’re so dedicated to him.” You snap, and your glare eases briefly as your eyes downcast, lips begin to quiver ever so slightly. His heart contorts at the sadness, reaching forward to place a hand atop of yours. Your attention turns away from him, but to the gesture, that once made your heart flutter.
“You’re intoxicated and clearly aren’t thinking properly. Lets talk about this tomorrow.” He tries gently.
“Why is it that when you look at me, I know you’re thinking of someone else?” But when he gets your question as a quiet reply, he’s taken aback.
“That isn’t the case.” And as if he threw a match into a pile of gasoline, your attention snaps back to his face with a glare. Recoiling your hand from his touch, as if he himself had burned you.

You’re always working or going to another meeting, or are being held back for him.” You don’t even realise you’re shouting, or shaking with every grievance escaping you, and in silence he watches. “Don’t you love me? Am I not good enough?” He calls your name quietly, but he’s ignored. “How many dates have you missed, how many hours have you given to him that you robbed from me? From us.” Panic settles in as it dawns on with every word, you’re growing further and further out of his reach.
“My time is always yours and I’m sorry if you don’t feel it to be that way.” His apology is laced with an unspoken plea. Don’t leave he wants to say, but your rage continues on.
“So you can’t even admit it? You can’t even accept what I’m saying might be true so you deflect it onto me.” He wasn’t trying to do that, he attempts to explain himself, you don’t want to listen. “I’m so stupid. Of course you’re not going to listen. And I know you’re not going to change either.” He can change, he pleas, he will for you and he thinks as your rage subsides that maybe he’s gotten through to you. Only to see the sorrow in your gaze, as you quietly begin to speak, “I have given you everything including myself, if that isn’t enough then...” the silence weighs on him, on his heart and as you finish your thoughts, “nothing will be.” It crushes him.
It’s agonizing. The pain in his chest, the ways his lungs heave as words trap themselves in his throat, as it settles in you’re right. And that as you turn on your heel, to shakily walk back to your room, he has no right to follow after you.

"Get lost and tell it to someone who cares what you think. Or maybe I'll call for someone who can do something about it." You’re storming off with Mammon in tow, whose silent the whole way.
"Are you okay?" You ask him when you both finally stop. He scoffs, trying to brush it off.
"Why would I care what a bunch of witches think?" There’s the slightest hint of hurt in his tone that leaves you unconvinced.
"Because it hurt you, I can tell." When he turns dead quiet, and attempts to look anywhere but your concerned expression, you know your suspicion is correct.
"...what if they're right?" He asks, sound almost a whisper. “I ain’t perfect-” he chokes on his train of thought, throat suddenly feeling tight as the worries their words had brought up make themselves apparent. All the times he’s dragged you along for one of his disastrous plans, or where he hasn’t told you how you really made him feel in a moment, flash through his mind.

It's one of Diavolo's worst kept secrets. And for some reason he doesn't think you've caught on yet. The words are intertwined with his actions, the swiftness in him finding a way to spend time with you. How he's yet to turn down a single invitation you've given him to hang out, and always replied with pure enthusiasm regardless of the occasion.
How many times have you caught him staring at you when someone else is speaking? More times that you can count. He's doesn't shy away when your gaze meets his, instead he grins. But sometimes someone else catches onto his staring, like Lucifer or Barbatos, who ask if he's been following along. He stops grinning after that.
"I value your opinion." He reasons, when pulling you aside to speak about an issue. But the frequency of his needs of your opinions has increased, while the matters that he's asking you about seem to grow less and less important as the days pass. Even so, he listens to every word of yours with great intent.
You've told him jokes that often get groans from others, but have him bursting out in laughter. Walked in sick, telling him you know you look terrible and that he doesn't need to tell you so, only for him to reply that he never even considered it. "I think you're always beautiful." He says it so unabashedly, that all you can do is smile.
The one evening where he walked you home, and almost kissed you. He had your face in his hands, his eyes drifting between your own and your lips. Only to pull his hands away, and bid you goodnight.
He likes you. It's very clear. And yet despite it all. "You've been a good friend to me." Is what he says to you, and you don't mean to laugh, but a snicker still happens. He's confused at your sudden amusement, tilting his head to the side, blinking rapidly waiting for an explanation.

He remembers hearing you ask, while half-asleep, murmuring a muffled 'whatever' in response, as he weakly moves so you can take the article of clothing and let him go back to sleep. He doesn't immediately get up to go grab it. Only to sigh when he remembers he needs it to go and get groceries for dinner. He's rolling out of bed and trudging to your room, where he hopes you'll be to get it back.
He knocks on your door, immediately opening it when you respond, asking for the return of his jacket as he does. "I need back my jacket.... that you are currently wearing." You're comfortably rugged up in his jacket.

Asmodeus is not having a good morning. Awoken early by rolling to the floor with a thud due to him tossing and turning himself out of bed in his sleep. Then going to do his newest morning skincare routine only to find out Beel had accidentally drank the strawberry scented moisturizer he had left in the fridge overnight.
And to top it all off, when he went to receive his morning greeting from you in the form of a kiss. You only wave at him before darting into the kitchen, and yes he understands it's because you woke up late and have to get moving before Lucifer scolds you for not making breakfast. But it still has him crossing his arms, pouting and sighing all the way into the dining room, flopping into his seat dramatically.
"What's wrong?" Satan, who hasn’t looked up from the book in front of him, but heard Asmo’s sighing from down the hall, asks.
"Nothing." And the conversation ends there, as Beelzebub walks in. Who gets Asmo's full intention in the form of a nasty glare. "Beel. You ate my moisturizer." Beel looks to the ground in the shame.
"I'm sorry it smelt tasty." Asmo's glare intensifies, causing Beel to look like a wounded puppy. "I tried to get you a new one, but it won't get here until tomorrow." Asmo sighs, no longer feeling as angry, he drops the subject all together.
Eventually you enter, placing breakfast on the table, and briefly Asmo thinks you're going to forget a morning kiss altogether. But as you’re going to fetch the rest of breakfast you pause, turning back around. "Before I forget." Quickly heading over to his seat, stopping in front of him, and finally giving him the greeting he was after. A kiss.
The gesture has Asmo's annoyance slipping away, until it's completely gone. When you pull away, his pout replaced by a beaming smile. That stays even as you’ve headed back to retrieve the rest of the food.
"Five minutes ago you looked so angry.” Beel comments, and Asmo simply replies:
“Well five minutes ago I hadn’t received a good morning kiss.” Satan rolls his eyes but says nothing, while Beel silently thanks you for saving him from the possibility of Asmo getting angry at him again.

You don't know why it was such a challenge to get Felix to let you watch him practice. As after he begrudgingly agreed, he went back to what he was doing and ignored your existence for five minutes straight. Your sighs in in order to gather his attention initially are ignored, until you sigh loudly, which causes him to pause.
"What?" He questions with his signature scowl, annoyed by the distracting sounds of your sighing.
"It has officially been five minutes since you last gave me any attention.” Felix scoffs.
"You aren't a kid, I don't need to coddle you every five minutes." The harshness of his words, have you feigning hurt, placing a hand on your chest, looking at him with wide eyes.
"And apparently you don't need to be nice to me either." He sighs, putting down the sword he was practicing with.
"What do you want me to do then?" A slight rosy hue on his cheeks, as he asks the question. Your response is to stare at him in surprise of how quickly he gave in. "Don't look at me like that, you're the one who wanted attention." He scoffs, crossing his arms to turn away from your gaze.
"Why Felix, are you pouting?" You tease with a grin, only for him to snap back to you with a scowl.
"Maybe I should go back to ignoring you." It's a weak threat he knows. And one he doesn't follow through with when you laugh at his retort. Instead rolling his eyes, pretending that he doesn't appreciate the sound.

Hríd may call you a good friend, but that title is merely a place holder for what he'd actually like to call you. Friend is what he uses to pacify rumours of late night dalliances, to lower raised brows at the closeness you and he share. But there is truth in their suspicions.
All it takes is for someone to take a long look at the pair of you together for things to begin falling into place. How between you both passing glances can turn into stares, how the normally stoic ice prince can't seem to stop himself from smiling in your presence, how no matter the distance between you both in a room, you always end up standing side by side.
When you leave the room his eyes follow and linger where you left, waiting to see if you return. Then he too leaves following your footsteps, it's no coincidence that somehow you both end up together again later on.
Then there's what no one sees, the late night encounters, the walking together through empty barracks, the murmuring of affections behind closed doors, the dancing around discussions about the future through passionate distractions. Friend isn't what you are to him. He knows it, as do you.
"A good friend, am I?" Which is why you grin at the title.
"Is there something else you wish me to call you?" And why he coyly responds.
"Whatever you want to call me is fine, but I think we're past the point of being just friends." He nods.
"I'd prefer to call you my wife." His forwardness leaves you stunned, despite already knowing what your answer to such a question would be. "But please let me ask you properly first," before you can give said answer, he sinks down to one knee, taking your left hand into both of his. "Will you marry me?"
"Yes!"
Wife is the most fitting title for what you are to him. To where when you head your separate ways for now. My wife. He says to himself in a whisper, glancing back at your fleeting form. And it leaves him feeling warm for hours on end.
