Let's be honest. We all love a good "Turned to stone" or "Turned to ice" curse right?
The angst of a caretaker finding a whumpee like that is just *Chef's Kiss* so good.
But we're really snoozing on the aftermath. of what happens to poor Whumpee when the curse is broken.
Seriously;
Atrophy or weakness of the muscles.
Gravel Rash everywhere. (for the stone curse)
Frostbite EVERYWHERE (for an Ice curse)
frequently recurring chills (both, Stone is still cold y'all.)
incredible disorientation or dizziness.
coming out of the statue starved and dehydrated.
Whumpee collapses into Caretaker's arms the minute the curse is broken.
Coughing up particles of whatever they were encased in.
Whumpee is desperate for the Caretaker not to leave them, ever. Especially if they were somewhat conscious inside the statue

Living Weapon Whumpee: Caretaking Prompts
Caretaker massaging Living Weapon's stiff muscles that have never had such treatment before. Living Weapon wincing, hissing between their teeth, but relaxing to Caretaker's working touch.
Sick Living Weapon worked themselves too hard, and promptly collapsed. They've woken up in bed, something they can't even remember they last time they've slept on.
Caretaker played a bit of dress up with Living Weapon, finally managing to get them in civilian clothing. They spun the mirror around for Living Weapon. Now they're frantically trying to sop up the tears sliding down Living Weapon's face.
Caretaker needing to frantically ask Living Weapon questions, because they'll never request anything for themselves. "Does this hurt?" "Do you need painkillers?" "Is this too tight?"
Living Weapon has grown frightened of Caretaker due to their gentleness, fearing it because it's something they are not used to. Caretaker is trying to teach them that they deserve to be treated gently.
Caretaker walked in to check on Living Weapon today, only to find them having a reaction based from their "training". Now Caretaker is looming over them, their hand placed on Living Weapon's back, trying to stir their friend to return to them.
Medic Caretaker has brought in soldiers, and civilians alike into their care. They happened to take in one Living Weapon too. As everyone has healed up and returned, no one has come by to claim the Living Weapon. Now Caretaker is in charge of them, until they can find where they belong.
"Where am I?", Living Weapon asked. They took quite the hit to the head, and have been incredibly disoriented. Caretaker doesn't have the heart to tell them where they are, and better yet what they are.
Caretaker took in more than one Living Weapon. They've been watching the multiple whumpees recover and develop drastically differently. They weren't expecting to have to break up fights, but it's made for the perfect lecture time while they add gauze to broken skin.
A Living Weapon far worse for ware then what Caretaker is used to seeing showed up in their care. While helping Living Weapon walk, they look up to the supposedly unexpressive face scrunched up in a look on the verge of tears.
Caretaker and Living Weapon walking out of the bathroom covered in excessive amounts of soap, because Living Weapon assumed Caretaker was trying to "drown" them in this action called "bathing"
Living Weapon slowly unveiling their injuries that are no big deal according to them. Watching Caretaker wrap bandages around their arms, and apply solvents to puffy looking wounds. They think they're starting to understand.

Caretaker’s knee bounced with anxiety, the only reason they weren’t pacing the floor being that Team Leader had made them sit down an hour ago.
How can I sit still when Whumpee is down the hall bleeding?
Caretaker saw Whumpee’s broken body every time they closed their eyes. They heard Whumpee’s screams of agony every time the white noise of the hospital died down enough for Caretaker’s mind to clear. And most of all, they felt Whumpee’s desperate grip to Caretaker’s hand as the medics tore them away, filling them with sedatives and painkillers.
Panicked shouts and calls for backup down the hall made Caretaker shoot to their feet.
"Please, please, stop-"
“Caretaker, what are you doing?” Team Leader yelled, but Caretaker was already running.

I’m craving some paternal/father figure caretaking, but I can’t find any anywhere ;-;
Could you perhaps spare me a crumb of whumpee’s father figure taking care of them platonically?
the fact that the platonically part is a necessary pains me
Singing them a lullaby to help them fall asleep while carefully brushing their hair off their forehead
2. "It's okay, sh. It's okay, A, Dad's here."
3. Even if A's too big to really comfortably sit on B's lap, B holds them like that because it lets him know that A's safe, and it lets A know they're safe too.
4. B's the only one that A will let touch them, and the entire time B is muttering reassurances as he takes care of B's injuries/illness
5. One night when B's asleep, the door creaks open, startling them awake. A hesitantly crawls into bed with B.

IMAGINE DISABLED CARETAKERS!
Like we're all used to Whumpee needing assistance and being looked after but as a disabled person we need more disabled Caretakers.
Maybe they are Deaf. So as they treat Whumpee's wounds, even if they can't hear screams they KNOW how painful it is.
Caretaker understanding how to treat Whumpee because they have first hand experience being a patient.
They make Toph-esque jokes like on ATLA, saying "Aren't we a pair!" And similar humor things.
Whumpee needing something to be done that Caretaker struggles with (like lifting something heavy while Caretaker has chronic pain) but Caretaker does it anyway for them.
Or a medical/healer Disabled Caretaker who decided to be a medic/healer due to their experience being a patient.

Prompt 45
Hear me out. Danny gets de-aged and thrown into Gotham, everything’s sort of normal there. He’s somewhere between 4 and 6 and absolutely tiny. Looks a little sickly, covered in his death-scars and looks like some sort of fae child or something.
Now it’s Gotham, normally this would mean he’d have gotten kidnapped, gotten stolen from the streets or something. The thing is though, he wasn’t dropped into Gotham all alone.
It’s kind of hard to take a child when there’s a giant eldritch abomination of a knight seemingly living in the kid’s shadow that causes terror with its very presence.

Imagine; A whumpee who's been pretty sick for a few days, and Caretaker's barely/hasn't slept. too preoccupied watching over whumpee and nursing them.
Finally, when the fever breaks and whumpee's semi-coherent for the first time in a while. they notice the bags under an exhausted Caretaker's bloodshot eyes.
"would...would you mind cuddling me?" Whumpee asks, voice hoarse and thick with fatigue, "M'cold."
of course, Caretaker obliges, yet still fights to stay awake. Whumpee needs them.
"You can take a nap if you wanna," whumpee says, getting as close to caretaker as they can "I know 'm gonna."
"But, whumpee, what if..." Caretaker starts but whumpee interrupts them.
"Caretaker, I'm alright now. you don't have anything to worry about. just try to sleep a bit."
"Promise you'll wake me if you need something?" Caretaker asks, their words already starting to slur drowsily.
"Promise."
And with that, both Caretaker and Whumpee slip into the first truly restful sleep that either of them had had in days.

Without a word, whumpee was taken.
And without a word, they were returned.
In much rougher condition than before.
They’re monitored in the hospital while caretaker tries to find out what happened. They gently ask questions; where they were and what happened. Sometimes whumpee mumbles some vague details, sometimes they just go silent.
But the heart monitor never does.
The questions whumpee goes quietest tend to be the monitor’s loudest.
