Whumpees who are chronically disconnected from their body. Whumpees who get asked if their pain is sharp or dull and literally don’t know the answer. Whumpee who doesn’t notice they’re cold until someone points out they’re shaking. Whumpee who doesn’t notice they’re hungry until they black out from standing up too fast. Whumpee who genuinely can’t tell when they’re over exerting themself because it all feels the same. It’s not that they don’t feel pain, it’s that they’ve learned to see pain as something constant and unavoidable, not something to be fixed, and they can’t distinguish between different kinds of pain anymore. They’ve learned to ignore the signals from their body while they were powerless, and now that they can prevent or fix pain they still aren’t attuned enough to their body to know how.
Just… whumpees who learned dissociation as a coping skill and now have to unlearn it. Whumpees who deeply benefited from being disconnected until they were safe, making it that much harder to unlearn

seeing myself at the end always sends me my Thoughts are being perceived
so obviously drinking blood from someone's neck is incredibly homoerotic, it's a classic for a reason
but someone drinking from your wrist? getting to look at them as they sink their teeth in your skin?? being able to watch as their eyes flutter close and they barely hold back their instincts to devour you whole??? Being just as enthralled by that sight as they are by your taste???? hello?????

responses to someone trying to stab you
Responses to Someone Trying to Stab You
-> feel free to edit as you see fit.
"I really don't think I deserve this."
"Who the hell are you?"
"Have I done something to piss you off? You look pissed off."
"This isn't necessary."
"If you want to kill me, you'll have to get in line."
"I think a gun might be more efficient."
"Oh, okay. We're doing this."
"Did you just try to stab me?"
"You're not going to survive this."
"You think I'm going to be taken down by some measly dagger?"
"That's funny."
"What do you think this is?"
"I'm honestly shocked that you have the balls to try and stab me."
"That's cute."
"What did I do this time?"
"Did [Name] send you?"
"Great, now I have an excuse to kill you."
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
"You're making a big mistake."
"Why are you doing this?"
"This is really awkward."
"Dude."

A terrified whumpee whose body is exhausted from the intense trembling but they still can’t stop quivering. Warmth cocoons them as Caretaker wraps a blanket around them and pulls them down onto the couch before their shaky legs give out. Once seated, Caretaker curls up behind the whumpee and wraps their arms around their shaking form until they feel whumpee’s hands grab theirs and pull them close to their rapidly moving chest. Caretaker murmurs words of encouragement and keeps telling them that they’re ok and nothing is going to happen to them. Whumpee mumbles something about having a living weighted blanket and they feel Caretaker smile against the back of their clammy neck.

How about some robot whump, where Whumper is going all out on it with Caretaker forced to watch.
The android assures Caretaker, "Not to worry. I cannot feel it. There is no pain."
But that doesn't mean that Caretaker stops yelling at Whumper to stop tearing their friend apart in the most brutal way. Appendages ripped from its torso, wires sending sparks up, the humanoid features slowly but forcefully removed. Oil drips out, leaving dark puddles not quite unlike blood.
All the while, the android keeps diligently updating on its status:
"Sensory functions failing."
"Emotion recognition centre damaged."
"Visuals reduced to 30%."
"It's okay!" Caretaker shouts. "I can still fix you. I can fix it all!"
"Oh, can you?" Whumper croons, fingers teasing over loose wires and smashing a hammer to the core.
"Memory storage compromised," the android croaks, it's voice failing.
"Maybe you can fix it, Caretaker," Whumper says, raising the hammer again. "But will it get you your friend back?"

Whumpril 2024 - Day 2
Sweat
@whumpril
Tw: illness, fever, unconsciousness
They told him, he had a fever. They told him, that's why he was freezing. But that didn't make any sense. A fever means burning up, but he was feeling like his body was numbing from the cold all around.
His arms and legs were thrembling. He was so cold. Even his teeth were chattering.
His vision was blurry, his fingers actually were tingling with numbness as he tried to store them under his armpits. He needed another blanket or he would freeze to death. The sweat on his body made him believe, he broke through the ice and was certainly dying from the cold.
He was trapped in a daze. His head wasn't able to keep him in the present.
A hand, out of nowhere found its way on his forehead. It was heavenly cool. That was making no sense at all. He was lifted, his extremities were so heavy. Yet, he wouldn't have been able to move by himself, he realised, when he tried to lift his head from the shoulder it was tucked against. His feet just dangling... somewhere. A moan slipped out of his lips, he believed.
The body right there was cool. He got aware of his own sweat soaked self through the difference to dry clothes and cool skin from the other body.
Maybe, he was really burning up. But he wasn't sure. The awareness slipped away. The smoke in his head too thick.
The realisation, that he was carried somewhere was gone, until suddenly he was ripped from his daze and pulled back to a painful reality.
He wasn't aware, that his burning body was gently set into a bath tub filled with cold water. Yes, his boxers became wet, but actually he wasn't sure, if he may had wet himself. But he was too weak to care anyway.
The shirt, that was already clinging to his body through wetness seemed to lift away from his chest. Breathing had been difficult, but suddenly it was impossible.
Suddenly, his was trapped in ice. For a second there, he realised, that his body was on fire from the fever and then it was drowned. Not his head, but his body. The heaviness on his whole was suddenly something touchable, but it wasn't something bearable.
His eyes flew open, a desperate inhale, the air kept stuck somewhere in his throat. His hands and feet exploded away and water splashed everywhere. Big hands on his shoulders kept him where he was.
"You're all right, buddy." The calm voice slowly came through, as his sudden fight ebbed away with the last of his strength. The realisation, that he was sitting in a bath tub to bring down the fever, that was eating him alive, slipped through for a brief moment, just to vanish into darkness again.
Everything was still so uncomfortable, but just too straining. His eyes fluttered close and the tension left his shivering body.
A hand from his shoulder went to his jaw, that it wouldn't slip under the surface and dipped his head back carefully against the rim. Than it gently brushed through his sweaty hair.
"You're alright, buddy. I got you."

Water or heat being limited and the team having to sacrifice their own well-being to keep the sick one safe/ stable. perhaps it even takes a toll on them?
what about being stuck in a car while sick? the gang is on their way to a job in a blizzard and get stuck, and they're struggling to take care of the sick character. a flat tire in a cell phone dead zone that requires them to walk in the heat, forcing the sick character to either walk with them or wait in a hot car. i think there's a lot here :)

Whumpee flinching and shying away when Whumper's hands get too close to their head. Even if it was just a slow movement, not meant to harm.
Of course, Whumper expects this but it still makes him frown to see it months after thing have changed. Whumpee's eyes dart around the room (or even tightly shut), not willing to maintain eye contact anymore than they have to, their hand(s) raised above their head in a defensive position. Whumpee, who's never known Whumper's gentle touch until now, finds it terrifying when confronted with it. Not knowing what to do with it or how to react to it besides trying to create flimsy barriers.
Whumper softly telling them that it's okay, they were just removing something stuck in their hair. That they don't have to worry about anything, that he didn't mean any harm and they're not in trouble. Whumpee apologising quietly anyway, saying they'll do better next time because they don't know what else to say, making his throat tighten uncomfortably and tears to build in his eyes.
Whumper desperately trying to acclimate them to gentle physical touch while remembering what he did to condition them to shy away from it. Remembering the joy he took on gently caressing Whumpee's cheek before viciously slapping them while muttering something condescending. Sometimes the slapping came before the caresses. It didn't matter now, Whumpee doesn't like seeing Whumper's hands anywhere near their face.
He wants them to get used to his touch. To not flinch at him when he tries to cup their cheek or touch their shoulder. To not resist when he holds their hand. To not be so stiff when he places them on his lap for movie night. To not freeze when he presses his mouth against their cheek or neck.
He wants them to see him as their safe space. A place to come to in case they feel down or of something bothers them or if they need anything (because God knows Whumper will go out of his way to get them anything they need or want). Someone they can rely on for safety, for comfort, for happiness.
But seeing the way Whumpee reacts crumples all hope of that. He can only dream of such a reality, but accepting that some dreams aren't meant to come true.
Whumper still tries, though. Even as impossible as it is, he still tries to help them adjust. Even when Whumpee keeps their head ducked and their hands up to block any attack they think is coming. Even as much as it pains Whumper to watch it happen.
"You're not in trouble." Whumper softly coaxed with his hands cupping their cheek, hoping Whumpee would at least open their eyes. Hoping that they'd breathe a little easier.
It never works. Whumpee will never be able to calm down until long after he's left the room.

Whumper overestimates how much torture Whumpee can take. The once-defiant Whumpee is broken and catatonic, not speaking or reacting to anything anymore. And Whumper isn't happy about it. Though they loathe to admit it, they liked Whumpee's defiance. It was entertaining. Whumpee was entertaining. With them not speaking anymore, Whumper realizes that they miss the sound of Whumpee's voice. The snarky little comments, the sarcastic jokes, the curses screamed in rage.
Now Whumper is desperate to get the old Whumpee back. They're being extra "nice," giving Whumpee medical treatment and food, anything to make them go back to how they were before. Anything to fix their favorite toy.
Because like it or not, Whumper doesn't have anyone else.
