Emily as a caregiver:

Emily is 100% the "mum friend" so you KNOW she is the bestest ever caregiver!

She will always have band-aids, a sippy cup, paci, spare clothes, diapeys, and a fidget for her baby on her at all times!

Emily is really good at coming up with games to play!

Ever heard of sleepy bear?

It's where you have to pretend to be a bear hibernating in the winter!

And maayyybeee it was made to help her baby go to sleep easier

Rules and routine are super important to Emily because it helps babies and even grown ups stay healthy!

The reason why I always emphasize that utrh era Jason is 18/19 and refuse to let people forget that Jason and Tim are canonically 2 years apart is because the concept of Jason as a fairly young adult with little to no support system is a fascinating concept to me and it goes under explored in both canon and fanon. I think it adds such an interesting wrinkle to the everything and is a great contrast to all the Red Hood shit. I’m thinking about New Earth Jason specifically here, he’s both younger than post-nu52 Jason and more isolated. Most people at 19, even if they can afford to be out on their own in this economy, still have contact with their family of origin for support. Jason is not only estranged from his family with little to no support system (depending on how much you interpret Talia being involved after Lost Days), he’s also doing mob boss shit while he’s still technically young enough to be somebody’s prom date. He didn’t go to his prom because he was probably in Russia learning how to make bombs or something (and because, yknow, the whole dying thing).

Jason is someone who both had to grow up too fast and by all means should be somewhat emotionally stunted. Not only does trauma stunt you he was catatonic for long enough that he’s missing literal years from his adolescence. He’s young enough that he’s still reeling from trauma from childhood and adolescence (late teens/ early twenties are peak ‘desperately trying to recover from childhood’ era).

I think underneath the rough Red Hood exterior that Jason should be naive in ways that people wouldn’t really expect. He doesn’t have much experience with relationships (both romantic and friendships), and it’s been years since he’s socialized much with people his age (he doesn’t socialize much at all he’s pretty isolated). I think even if he doesn’t look young that at times he would slip up and show that he is

Teen!Reader finding Alastor all beaten and bruised after the finale and getting worried, insisting in patching him up, etc, while Alastor during the entire time is having a moment of realization like "oh, this kid ACTUALLY cares about me"

I love it. Simple, enjoyable and to be honest, we’ll just pretend Alastor had his sick solo in the finale before we showed up and I suppose Al will be quite unhinged and aggressive in this state so goddamn. Also, my second time writing about the finale

Platonic! Alastor- Reaching Out

“You son of a bitch, I am trying to help you!” You growl out, now half-wrestling with the Radio Demon himself, after his lose battle against Adam. Whilst Adam has been finally defeated at Lucifer’s hand then killed at Niffty’s knife. It’s clear as crystal that Alastor isn’t taking his own defeat well at all. He’s aggressive, completely lost his usual charismatic, well-mannered demeanour, he’s breaking down and barking at you to back off as you’re still trying to pry his own hands off the visible red bleeding wound over his chest

You’ve found this retreating deer out of pure luck and now, you’re acting on your compassion for him to try make the process of healing less painful for him

You’re the only Hazbin Hotel staff member that actually treated Alastor more than an annoyance standing there. He isn’t the best guy at there, never. No, but he isn’t as bad as Vaggie or Husk claim he is. However, right now, he’s boiling your blood with how much he is refusing to let you even touch him, despite the fact he needs to be patched up. He’s low on power, his cane is snapped in half, he’s limited and requires help

“I don’t need your help, Leitora!” Alastor barks back in possibly the most unhinged way you’ve ever seen, basically backing into a wall. He can’t even notice how worried you actually are, how you’re getting frustrated because you’re worried and you’re the only one who has been looking for and have found Alastor whilst everybody else is celebrating the victory over Adam. You’re the one looking for and now looking out for the man you actually find quite nice. He isn’t as patronising to you, for whatever reason, Alastor’s decent and it’s almost like he wants to be some type of figure in your life with how he behaves

“Stay still before you bleed yourself to unconsciousness, you narcissistic edible piece of shit!” You only say this so cruelly, sharp and half loud as to put Alastor into his place, prove to him you’re not backing down whilst you finally win the half wrestling session you have with the weakened and distressed Overlord, already beginning to check around for the entire length of the wound and use what little excess fabric your current clothing has to make a makeshift bandage for this wound

This is surprising, you’re possibly two times his age. A teenager, if not 15-16 at the oldest upon your human death and you’re acting more mature than the biologically 34 year old. Alastor just stayed quiet, tall fluffy deer-like ears still pinned back and suffering through the intense pain. He wouldn’t admit that he is quite grateful that somebody is around but at the same time, he doesn’t want to get attached to any soul

It took him a proper glance at the cute young sinner he found it fun to playfully tease, mock and behave like a clingy overprotective big brother to piss off, that they genuinely care for him. That they aren’t lying or pretending as to get something out of him like he suspects everybody in the Hotel, including Charlie, is

This is so much different than he suspected, he was believing he’d be going back to his radio tower to vent out his rage at being smacked in the face of such a pathetic opponent

Ending up being the pathetic opponent. He hates showing his weakness and he can barely keep himself from snapping but he also can feel his racking nerves ease up a bit at this strong, confident yet sweet and compassionate kid trying to take care of him when they have no actual requirement to do so

Alastor takes a few more seconds to think and speak, not even realising he was sat down by you as he was thinking frantically about how his own mischievous and mocking behaviour as some type of surrogate brother for you was more than just something down to see your reactions for his own amusement, he does feel some type of family-based affections for you

Now, that affection has been bumped up even more. He definitely owns you a lot for caring about him like some surrogate little sibling when all he does for you is annoy you. He doesn’t even know that you actually look up to him like some type of family figure… so, the familiar feelings are mutual

“Fuck… can you just be careful with the coat? This is my treasure”

do you ever think about the fact that dennis has very specifically and intentionally put himself in the position of "caregiver" with charlie as established back in season 1. do you think about the fact that he attempts to do so in a way that treats charlie like a child and coddles and shelters him engages with him and takes charlie's feelings into consideration and doesn't force him into anything, centering patience and understanding.

do you think about the fact that he has continued this exact approach with charlie time and time again. how he doesn't pursue or push further even if he doesn't understand or even outright disagrees with charlie, he engages on charlie's level, calms him down when he's getting worked up about something, and gets him to move past it

okay, but characters wearing diapers or pull-ups to a theme park tho

first, some of the reasons one might be padded at a theme park:

• the character is a total germaphobe, and using public bathrooms frequented by thousands of people a day isn't on the table

• the character has a shy bladder and there is no chance that they'll be able to use the extra large bathrooms filled with dozens of stalls, not to mention all the other people waiting in a line to use those stalls

• the character is very easily distracted and has been known to put off bathroom breaks until the last possible second - something that'll be a bit hard to deal with in a crowded theme park

• the character decides that they want to minmax their day at the theme park and get their money's worth, and as such, decides that wasting time for a bathroom break is unacceptable

• and, simply, the character thinks it might be a bit fun to wear padding at a theme park

the way that the characters use their protections

• the ones that wait and hold it until an opportune moment arrives

• maybe some wait until they're waiting in a line for a ride that isn't moving; they shuffle between their friends - or, away from the other guests in the line, if they came alone - and let loose, their discomfort gone and their place in line maintained

• those that aren't going to be able to go unless they're away from the public eye/crowds; they need to find somewhere secluded, and the nagging feeling that they're going to be caught "doing something they're not supposed to" isn't helping

-- they either find a little corner of the park that isn't very busy, so they do their best to relax their bladder and go

-- or they don't, and they end up losing control while surrounded by strangers, much to their dismay

• those who didn't intend on wetting at that exact moment - maybe their ride was more thrilling than they had thought, maybe someone bumped into them, or maybe they just got so excited - or frightened! - upon seeing a costumed character that their control of their bladder completely slipped their mind - so they sure are glad they opted for the protection

• the ones who's protection is intended to be used as a last resort only - which means they still need to try their hardest to make it to the bathroom in time

• those who go as soon as the urge hits them; they're wearing padding, they don't need to hold it or anything!! that's what the protection is for!!!

and then, of course, what'll happen when they need to get changed:

the fact if the matter is, there are a limited amount of changing tables that our character can even fit on, which means that they'll have to either deal with their soggy bottoms in the narrow single stalls or use the accessible/companion/family bathrooms

• those who opt for the single stall change, as, after all, they can handle it themselves!! except, they've never changed a diaper standing up before, and, oh, wow, those tapes aren't sticking where they're supposed to go and - uh oh...

• those who opted for pull-ups now struggling in the single stall, because how were they supposed to know that the ones they picked don't have easy open sides, which means that they need to disrobe entirely from the waist down - shoes included - just to put a new one on

• any of the above people needing to phone-a-friend to get some help - except, they can't exactly leave the stall at this point, which means that their friend is going to need to squeeze into a stall that can barely fit two people

�� those who are alone who opt for the accessible bathroom; afterall, they're a guest who needs the facilities, why shouldn't they use it?

-- of course, that's easier said than done, as they soon realize. there's only a limited amount of these bathrooms in the park, which means they're a bit more busy than the regular bathrooms - this results in the character having to nervously stand in line amongst families, who might be raising a brow at why our character is in line in the first place....

• and then, those who opt for the accessible bathroom with a friend who is going to change them

-- any onlookers alongside them in line, looking at our possibly skittish character, who might even be attempting to hide behind their friend - who, of course, is carrying a bag or backpack with the necessary changing supplies. looking between the two, it isn't hard to put together that a routine diaper change is all that's going to be happening between these characters in the bathroom, nothing nefarious (though, depending on our character's pride that might be exactly what they were banking on what strangers would assume)

• a character who did not plan ahead, and after thoroughly soaking their protection and heading for the bathroom, they realize these single stalls are not big enough to change in. cue the character, with a noticeable waddle in their gait, having to locate the nearest theme park employee to ask about where the nearest accessible bathroom is - only for the employee to show them that's it's very clearly labeled not too far away

• and then, the characters who decide that changing their padding is not on the itinerary, and so they opt to stay in their wet padding - what's going to happen first? stained pants from leaky padding? thighs chafing from the excess moisture? a diaper rash? maybe they'll even be so unlucky that they get to experience all three...

~bonus scenarios~

• the character did not bring enough padding for an entire day at the theme park, and the extra large souvenir cups did not do them any favors; the character needs to choose between wearing soggy padding longer than they'd like or go without protection for the rest of their evening - with their weakened bladder, they're not too sure if ending the day with dry pants is even on the itinerary...

• the theme park has a water ride and the character eagerly goes on it without much thought. when they exit the ride, they need to change more than their shirt and pants soaked from a large drop - their padding also managed to absorb much of the water, and they leave with a tell-tale waddle

• characters who wish they opted for something more heavy-duty; as it turns out, their protection barely protected anything at all (or maybe they just over estimated the capacity, lol), and now they have wet pants without a change of clothes. it's just their luck though, as it seems the theme park has accounted for this exact scenario, and clean overpriced pants, socks, shoes, and even new underwear are available in the gift shop - now, would that be cash or card? 😊

Argsvh how did flowey find out sans regresses too? Was it a case of sans trying it out after he learned flowey did it or was he doing it with paps before that? Caregiver papyrus is everything to me :)

He was doing it before! Neither brother knew (or still know) what age regression actually is, but Papyrus had long since learned the tells that something was off with a person. He has a kind of ‘regressor sixth sense’ like that. Generally when Sans regressed he would get some specific treatment, like being excused from sentry duties or (unfortunately?) eating his brother’s food instead of going to Grillby’s. As you can glean, Sans is a very tired regressor. He also regresses pretty young, just barely reaching 4-5.

Flowey was also regressing before, but it wasn’t…very happy. He was not having a nice time, especially since no one but Papyrus and his mother officially knew of his existence in a lot of timelines, and the latter brought back bad memories. Mostly he unwillingly regressed alone (and would usually just cry) near the entrance to the RUINS. Flowey’s always a pouty crybaby, no matter how old he regresses. Partially due to trauma, partially due to the fact that he refuses to do so any other time. Crying is stupid and for the sentimental, which he is not.

But eventually Flowey slips up and regresses near Snowdin. Papyrus notices something is wrong, since his friend in uncharacteristically terrified and soft-spoken, so he scoops him up to take him back to his house (I’m actually writing a fic about this). Once there, Sans is all “diversity lose! The guy you hate most is also a regressor!” with extreme reluctance. As time goes on, Sans and Flowey’s bond shifts due to their proximity with Papyrus and the fact that their regressed selves…don’t really care about what bad blood they might have. Though they still tease each other (Flowey despises thinking of them as siblings when regressed).

So now Papyrus has two littles instead of one! Though there are difficult days, considering the massive amounts of bottled trauma from each, he still likes doing it. And taking care of someone else can be therapeutic.

• often pretty strict if rules are broken but there aren’t many rules so it’s not often that he’s strict

• cuts up his baby’s food before serving it to them

• isn’t a stranger to tantrums and just gives an “are you done yet?” Look.

• never punishes big emotions

•very understanding and comforting
