- Though after awhile of hanging around you he couldn’t help but feel relaxed and allowed you to touch stuff in his bunker

- He Let you meet Gary and you are the only one allowed to hold Gary and know everything about him. (Gary from trollstopia if you know)

- Branch enjoys how you listen to him when he rants about things

- You were so worried when he said he would drink his own sweat which you told him not too and is unhygienic

- After awhile he would notice subtle things about you and would learn more about you and your hobbies which poppy pointed out was kind of weird for branch since he never does that for other trolls a lot but him doing that for you? Poppy smirked - He fell for an ROCK TROLL! - This man was so confused and questioning himself as you were standing in front of him telling him about your new song that you wrote and were gonna preform with Petra, Romper and Rose - He was an pop troll... you were an rock troll you were different!

- Branch would listen to you about speaking about your genre and you listen about pop genre aswell - You two would do duet songs of rock songs and pop songs but if you could convince him to sing rock songs with you he would try... It turns out he’s good at it

- You teach him some Rock n Roll greetings and handshakes which he got used to

- He did the handshake infront of poppy doing the rock n roll greeting handshake with Riff and Barb who laughed and they told him where you were which made branch flustered

- Poppy stared at him with sparkling eyes squealing questioning if you two were dating which you weren’t… Yet!

- If Branch ever found something that would suite you for example some studded belts or leather braclets he would think of you and would buy it

- Whenever you meet up he would always have an gift that reminded him of you

- His love language is Acts of Service, Quality time and sometimes Gift giving

- Though he wouldn’t mind some affection from you since whenever you see him you hug him tightly

It's funny how you never really realise how different family cultures can be before you see how other people live at home. And I don't even mean in some serious "wait, you guys aren't abusive? y'all live like this?" sense, but just the way you don't really see that your family Has A Thing before you notice that nobody else really does that.

Like I was aware that nobody else's family has both kids taking singing lessons and genuinely considers going to the opera to be a fun activity to do together, but I hadn't really considered how Really Into Music my family was before the first christmas I spent at my boyfriend's place. I showed him a meme referencing a song that he didn't recognise, and refusing to believe that he'd never heard it at all, I started softly from the lyrics referenced - well it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth-

And their family dog came to us wide-eyed, looking at me like "dude what the fuck is that, what is the sound you're making." Not being much of a singer anymore after I lost my singing voice, I have no delusions that my take on Hallelujah could have the demigod wizard power to put animals into awe, I immediately put together that there are families where the pets have never heard a person singing irl.

Before meeting my boyfriend's family, it had never crossed my mind that there are homes where the men will just have whole educated conversations about military equipment. He still seems pretty sure that army stuff was some sort of a Prohibited Subject in my childhood home because of how much my dad hated his own time in service, instead of considering the possibility that the subject just never came up unprompted, because most people and their families are simply not that into army stuff at all.

Dethentines 2024 Day 7

Will you be my Valentine?

Picture me arriving to the finish line wheezing and dying, 'cause that's me right now. I don't know why I thought that finishing the entries on the very same day of posting was a good idea but that's what ended up happening. Never again, hopefully.

Either way, here's my last entry for Dethentines, aka the one that matters the most because it's for Valentine's Day so I made an extra effort and you get a whooping +2k words for today. It's Skwistok, obviously, but the rest of Dethklok get a pretty decent amount of participation because I wanted to go out with a bang. Or try to.

“And then we does the things like-” Skwisgaar made a high pitched noise. “Like-” He made an explosion sound. “You gets?”

“Right, like-” Nathan made a deep growling noise. “And then-” A boing-like noise followed. “And then some more…”

“Ja!” Skwisgaar nodded enthusiastically. It was really easy to talk about music with Nathan, it’s like they read each other’s minds somehow. “We has to…”

Suddenly, Toki walked into the living room. He stopped right when he saw the two of them. Skwisgaar raised a hand to wave at him, a reluctant smile on his face. However, Toki only frowned in response and left.

“Uh-oh.” Nathan watched Toki’s silhouette slowly get smaller. “What did you do?”

“Eugh…” Skwisgaar let his arm drop on the couch. “He ams mads abouts Vals and Tines days.”

“Valentine’s Day?” Nathan repeated in confusion.

“Ja, he askeds if I wanteds to spends wif hims. Goes ons a dates togethors…dats stuff…”

Nathan waited a moment and, when Skwisgaar didn’t continue, he asked. “And what did you say?”

Skwisgaar winced a little. “I says it was fuckings stupids and jackoffs things whats we donts needs.”

“Woah!” Nathan sat back in shock. “Woah, Skwisgaar!”

“Whats? We ams alreadies togethers sorts of, okeys?” Skwisgaar shrugged. “And Valentines ams dildos” He mumbled. “ I don’ts gets it.”

“Yeah, but Toki likes that shit, remember? He’s, uh…” Nathan struggled to find a word that wouldn’t be offensive. “...Different.”

“Pfft.” Skwisgaar snorted. “Differents ams rights.”

“Besides…” Nathan’s eyes wandered to the living room. “I don’t think it’s that weird to want to do all romantic shit when you’re in love. Love might not be cool at all, but it is pretty brutal.”

Skwisgaar pouted, unable to refute Nathan on that. Discovering his feelings for Toki had been a pretty brutal experience. “I guess you ams rights.”

“You gotta apologize to him, dude.”

“Eugh.” Skwisgaar looked up to the ceiling, unable to find reasons against.

They were having lunch and Toki was too busy finishing up his mountain of spaghetti to notice Skwisgaar had been staring at him for the past 5 minutes. It was late and there was nobody else in the kitchen but them. Well, besides the Klokateers.

Skwisgaar decided to make an attempt. “Toki?” He called him hesitantly.

Toki kept eating as if nothing had happened, slurping loudly and spreading cheese on the pasta like his life depended on it. Frankly, Skwisgaar wasn’t sure Toki had heard him or not.

“Toki?” He called him a second time.

Still nothing, Toki was gulping from his glass of water. “Mores, please!” He said, after slamming the glass on the table.

“Sire!” One Klokateer immediately appeared with a pitcher of water and filled Toki’s glass to the brim.

“Thank yous.” Toki said before he resumed eating.

“Tok-” Skwisgaar decided to cut the bullshit and sat on the seat next to Toki. There was a subtle acknowledgement, as Toki glanced to his side before returning his attention to his food. “Toki, listens.” Skwisgaar said, gently placing his hand on Toki’s arm.

Toki kept eating, completely unbothered.

Truth to be told, Skwisgaar wasn’t used to being this ignored, especially not by Toki, so he felt the discouragement in his gut. He cleared his throat. “Ams sorries about de other deis, okeis? I didn’ts…realize how imporkstants it ams was to yous, soes…”

“Dat was goods.” Toki said and Skwisgaar raised his eyes with expectation, but Toki was staring at his now empty dish and rubbing his belly.

He sighed. “Tokis, please, we can does what you wants. I won’ts complains, justs-”

Abruptly, Toki stood up and walked away without looking back. Skwisgaar buried his face in his hands in frustration.

He really fucked things up this time.

“Ye gotta mehk it up to him, dood.” Pickles suddenly spoke behind him and Skwisgaar almost did a somersault from shock.

“Eugh! Pickle!” He glanced at him, horrified. “Whens dids you get heres?”

Pickles grimaced like he was offended. “Dood, I’ve been here de whole time.”

“Huh…” Skwisgaar could not remember for the life of him seeing him here but , oh well. “Waits, what does you means makes it ups to him?” He squinted. “Whats does you knows?”

Pickles snorted, gesturing dismissively with one hand. “Nethan already told me ‘bout it. You broke Toki’s heart, didn’t ye?”

“Wells…” Skwisgaar winced. “I wouldn’ts…puts it like dats…”

“An apology just wahn’t do.” Pickles leaned into Skwisgaar’s ear. “Ye gotta surprise him yourself.”

“What?” Skwisgaar turned to him in horror. “You means…?”

Smirking, Pickles nodded slowly at him.

Skwisgaar looked at the door with preemptive regret. He was one second away from leaving and forgetting the whole thing. This was his dignity on the line now, nothing to joke about.

Toki’s face flashed in his mind and Skwisgaar closed his eyes in defeat. His breath hitched and his heart raced as he knocked on the door thrice.

It only took a few seconds for it to open, and behind it, a confused Murderface appeared. “Schkwisgaar? What do you want?”

“Is never thots I woulds says dis, Moidaface.” Skwisgaar was already short of breath. “But I needs yous helps.”

Murderface crossed his arms with a scowl. “Thisch better not be a prank.”

“I don’t has time for pranks.” Skwisgaar said as he made his way into Murderface’s room.

“Hey!”

Uncaring, he slammed the door behind him and Murderface gave him a stunned stare. “I needs yous helps now.”

Murderface looked him up and down, like he wasn’t sure what to make of Skwisgaar’s words. “Thisch ischn’t a gay thing, right?”

“Whats?” Skwisgaar was appalled. “N-well, it ams kinds of gays, actuallies.” He sighed. “You ams goods friends with Tokes, rights?”

“I guesch.” Murderface shrugged noncommittally which honestly irritated Skwisgaar but he decided to let it go.

“Does he, eugh…Does he talkeds about Valskentines with yous?”

“Oh,” Murderface rolled his eyes and turned around. “All the fucking time! Me and Schkwisgaar are going to do thisch! Me and Schkwisgaar are going do that! It’sch my firscht Valentinesch ever, Murderface! I’m scho exschited!” He made a disgusted noise. “Made me schick, really.”

The guilt piled up on the pit of Skwisgaar’s stomach. “Does you…remembers any specificks?”

“Uhh, he schaid it would be the firscht date ever for you guysch so he wanted to do everything…” He rested his back against his deck. “Firscht, have breakfascht in bed. Then, go to the petting szchoo to pet the catch. After that, walk in the park while holding handsch and eating…” He shuddered. “Hot dogsch. Then, planetarium vischit to look at the starchs. Then, go to the theater to watch a movie…and then dinner at a fanschy restaurant. He did schpare me the detailsch for the night after that, thank Chrischt.”

“Eugh…” Skwisgaar was impressed. “You shores remembers de hole thingks.”

“Well, he wouldn’t schut up about it!” Murderface defensively and opened the first drawer of his desk. “Look, he even made drawingsch of it!” At once, Murderface spread a bunch of drawings over the top of the desk.

One of the drawings had them petting cats, in another they were walking in the park with the hot dogs, looking at the stars, at a fancy restaurant…there were even some drawings of things Murderface hadn’t described, probably things Toki couldn’t fit into their schedule.

“Why does you has dese?” He asked.

Murderface blinked a couple of times before looking away. “We like drawing together, okay? And he alwaysch leavesch hisch drawingsch here. Idiot.”

“Rights.” Skwisgaar stood up. “I thinks I gots all I needs now, so I’m goingks-”

“Wait, what do I get in exchange?”

“Eugh…Toki’s unconskditionals loves?”

Murderface buffed. “Big deal.” Skwisgaar was walking to the other when he spoke again. “I know it’sch not any of my buschiness but…” Skwisgaar turned to look at him. “He kind of, really likesch you, scho…yeah.”

Unbelievable, even Murderface was lecturing him now. Skwisgaar couldn’t imagine sinking lower. “Rights. Thanks, Moidaface.”

“Whatever.”

Skwisgaar closed the door, a new determination finding its way inside him.

“Whats ams dis?” Toki asked, upon finding a letter next to his plate during breakfast. It was a bronze envelope with a blood red seal.

“Hm?” Pickles was stuffing oatmeal down his throat. “No idea, dood.”

Toki was skeptical, looking at Nathan and Murderface eat in silence. “Where ams Skwisgaar?”

Nathan, currently attacking a beef steak, replied. “Uhh, probably sleeping? Who knows. It’s Skwisgaar.”

Still not quite convinced, Toki ripped open the envelope and found a letter inside except there was nothing written in it. Just a red guitar vaguely shaped like a heart. “Alrights, who ams doings this? It amsnt funnies.” He asked with irritation. He wasn’t in the mood to get pranked on Valentine’s Day.

“It’sch probably schomething to do with playing the guitar.” Murderface blurted and the other two glared at him. “Or schomething.” He added to save face.

Toki squinted at his friends. “You guys amsnt collsudings togeders, ams you?”

“No.” All three of them said at the same time, which only made it more suspicious.

“We’re just eatin’ our breakfast here.” Pickles said.

“Yeah, why would we care about anything that ischn’t our breakfascht?”

“It’s not like today is a special day or anything.”

Toki got up from the table, unamused. He wasn’t going to bother with this, he would just get to the root of the problem and cut it off. Simple as that.

“Skwisgaar.” He knocked on his door. “Ams not in de moods for dis okays? Soes just-” The door opened with a creak, revealing an empty bedroom. Toki looked inside, intrigued and found lit red candles melting on the floor. Upon closer inspection, he realized they were skull shaped.

On the bed, there was a guitar made of red rose petals and a pile of Deaddy Bears in different brutal outfits laid in place of the pillows. The TV was showing ‘Love and Guts 4’ Toki’s favorite horror movie and, under it, there was a box of sugar-free chocolates with a note on them.

Meets me wheres we first kiss

Toki’s eyes widened upon reading. Did he mean….?

He couldn’t help it, he was supposed to be mad but he couldn’t help running towards the location, excitement drumming inside his chest. What was he expecting? What was going to happen? What had Skwisgaar planned?

When he reached the double-door, he found it only marginally open so he grabbed the knob to reveal the inside.

Skwisgaar was sitting on a stool inside Murderface’s closet, guitar in his hand. He seemed to have been caught off guard because he made a surprised noise when he saw Toki.

Toki tried to catch his breath. “Skwisga-”

Abruptly, Skwisgaar started playing the guitar. First the E, then the G sharp minor, then the C sharp minor, then the A. Then he played the whole sequence again.

“Does you wanna be mines girls-boyfriends…” He sang unsurely. “We’lls walks to the cemeteries and alls kiss you agains…And makes ours dead friends blushks…We ams getting marrieds right dere on de seens…” He inhaled shakily. “Does you wants to be mines best friends? Yous can drives me crazies alls over agains…And alls bores you death oooh, doesn’ts matters when we ams in love. Rights?” He smiled at a speechless Toki.

Then the guitar got heavier, but Skwisgaar’s eyes were still on Toki. “Does you wanna be mines boyfriends?” He continued. "Does you wanna be mine boyfriends? Does you wanna be mines- Does you wanna be mines?” He stood up and kept playing, now closing the distance between them as he finished up the song. When it ended, he had essentially backed Toki against the wall.

Skwisgaar’s expression softened, the confidence from playing was fading into reluctance. “Ams sorries about everythings, Toki. I didn’ts realize how impskortants dis was to yous. Lets me makes it up to yous. Is calleds reservations fors a restaurants and bookeds de movies and plansetariums, ands the pettings zoo has spots fors us and-” Impulsively, Toki locked their lips together and Skwisgaar lost the trail of his thoughts.

“It ams okay, Skwisgaar.” He said when he pulled away. “I just thoughts you didnts…” He shook his head, smiling. “Doesn’ts matters.” Giggling, he laced their fingers together. “Soes, boysfriend?”

Skwisgaar felt his face heat up from embarrassment. “Dats- Dats what de songs-” He stopped babbling and his face turned solemn instead. “Eugh, ja.” With a heavy swallow, he asked. “Does you wants to be mines boysfriends, Toki?”

Toki’s smile was like a thousand beams directed at once at Skwisgaar. “Ja, I wants to bes your boyfriend, Skwisgaar.”

Smiling back, Skwisgaar brought Toki closer to him. “Cans I kiss mines boyfriends now?”

“You cans.” Toki said, the happiness leaking from his face.

As they wrapped around each other, Skwisgaar felt only slightly bad for the mess they were about to do in Murderface’s closet.

But only slightly.

“Well, it sure sounds like they’re havin’ fun.” Pickles commented, ear to the closet door.

“Now who’sch gonna clean after them!” Murderface complained. “My closchet isch gonna be dischguschting!”

“Murderface, you don’t even clean your own room.” Nathan countered, already looking tired.

“Yeah, well, neither do you!”

“Yeah, ‘cause we’re fucking rich. Just call a Klokateer to get it done.”

“I guesch!”

The closet door banged so loudly that all three of them jolted.

“Okei!” Pickles clasped his hands together. “Who wants t' get wasted to feel less miserable on Valentine’s Day!”

“Me!” Nathan and Murderface replied in unison.

“Let’s leave the lovebirds, then.” Pickles made an example as he walked away from the closet and the two soon followed him.

“Fuck Valentine’sch Day!” Murderface said.

“Yeah, it’s capitalism brutality, and not the kind that benefits us.” Nathan agreed.

“It’s stoopid as hell, like whoa! I’m in love! Big deal!” Pickles threw his hands into the air.

“Yeah.”

“Totally.”

They smiled at each other. Seriously, fuck Valentine’s Day.

Okay, i had to think a bit hard on this one but here we go

Jay - Lead Guitar: Bro has some wild speed which would be dope for shredding amazing for finger picking, this, ofc, is in reference to his elemental power of lightning. I'd think he can play several different types of guitars ranging from a standard electric to the banjo. He also likes to be front and centre a lot of the time and absolutely thrives off of attention so guitar solos would really give him a chance to shine. I imagine he'd play with a speed similar to this guy though likely not with that type of guitar

Kai - Bass guitar/backup vocalist: I'd actually give Kai the bass cause it's criminally underrated (like kai in the show it feels like sometimes) and it kinda lends itself to the fact his character ends up being more of a supporting role (specifically to Lloyd in the show) in the background rather than the main protagonist. He's extremely skilled in a way that not a lot of people notice, an avid bass defender and hype man and only slightly annoyed that Jay has more fans than him. He likely posts lots of bass shredding vids online

Cole - Drums: I mean come on you had to have seen this coming. I know it almost feels basic to put him but it fits so WELL. He's the one who keeps the team on track in the show and on beat in the band. He's so steady and consistent that it kinda blends together and you forget he's there sometimes. He's the one band member who can go out in public and not a single person will recognize him and he's cool with that. He has an amazing voice and could easily be a lead singer but he's content where he is. He's wildly skilled on the drums and I imagine people would start taking notice in him when he has like a drum solo that happens and its kinda like how Jay is crazy on the guitar he'd be outrageous like this dude

Lloyd - Lead Vocals/drums: Lloyd's currently learning drums from Cole and he's having a lot of fun with them. (a nod to my hc of Cole teaching Lloyd how to lead in the show.) He has the best voice out of the group with an INSANE range in his vocals. He can go from more like straight up angelic sounding to like hardcore screaming and so he's pretty versatile. (A nod to his oni/dragon sides.) He doesn't enjoy singing as much as he does drumming but he's good at it so he doesn't mind being the lead. Though he's not a huge fan of his fans. They're a little crazy. If you want to see him smile ask him to play the drums for you, he gets really winded and is always grinning with his hair a complete mess afterwards. He gets a lot of dopamine from da drums. He also enjoys helping Nya out with writing their lyrics

Nya - Stage Manager(previous)/Backup Guitarist/Second Lead Vocal/Songwriter: Nya is pretty versatile in what she can do. She knows the basics of base, is a pretty solid contender for lead guitar, she's also learning drums from Cole alongside Lloyd. She used to handle the behind the scenes stuff at some point before she actually joined the band. Her ability to both carve out her own place and easily fill in for the other's if they need to tap out lends itself to her element power of water something something. I kinda think of Walk Off the Earth with their two lead vocalists and how their voices blend together really well and the harmonies are really nice for how Nya and Lloyd would sound together. She also has a huge hand in writing the bands songs obviously. Kai did a lot of the lyrics for a while but he's not the most creative person. The whole band kinda has a hand in writing and its a group effort but Nya's usually the one leading it

Pixal - Stage Manager (current): I'm thinking Pixal used to be like, a solo act for a while or something? I dunno I actually couldn't get many ideas for her. But a soloist songwriter and maybe singer and she eventually retired from that and runs things behind the scenes for the band, booking stuff, getting transport, she's great at her job and the whole band loves and appreciates her, Kai regularly dramatically falls across her lap to ask "What would we do without you?" when she hands him a juice box after a set. She also handles the technology (with some assistance from Nya and sometimes Zane) and any more digital sounds they want added to their music

Zane - oh screw it, it's gotta be violin doesn't it??: come on just listen to his Falcon Chase song what else would he play??? All his songs in this show are literally strings!!! Cello, viola, violin, fiddle. i imagine he's classically trained in a lot of the bow + stringed instruments. I'm thinking Lindsey Stirling type playing probably or something. It lends itself to his controlled but emotional?? way of dealing with stuff? You can get a wide range of emotion from these types of instruments and he knows how to pull at your heartstrings (get it cause strings instrument--[gets hit with a chair])

Am i well versed enough in music to know if all these instruments would work well together? No, no i am not. But the concepts are cool and I guess i can be a lil silly goofy with it

probably the sweetest guy you will ever meet. he is very humble and honest and so considerate of others ugh. he's just perfect.

as a boyfriend, he tends to prioritise your feelings and well-being ahead of his own. he will go above and beyond to provide and take care of you, in both little and big ways

he looks at you with those big, sparkly eyes that he does i'm gonna cry like you are literally everything to him. all he wants to do is make you feel happy and loved and wanted and appreciated

he is very in tune with his and other people's emotions, so he is attentive and aware if your mood turns negative. he believes that if you are feeling sad, neither he nor your should force yourself to be happy again. he wants you to just go through what you need to go through; he will lend a shoulder to cry on, give you tissues, run down to the shop to buy your favourite snack and support you through these negative emotions. he knows from experience that just letting these negative emotions come and go is much healthier than fighting with them. he will reassure you and ask if you want him to stay with you or let you have some alone time

Heartbreak Princess

Summary: After breaking up with her on the phone and ignoring her, Y/N and her band, decide to play a special gig at the hideout... right before Eddie's set to go on and play.

Warnings: childhood friends to lovers to ex's. Angst with a happy ending. background Jancy breakup, mentions of Ronance, the drummer is Gareth's little sister, (hastily proofread)

Ah, childhood romance, one of the most precious things you can have… Flirting on the playground, getting married with 25-cent machine rings in the 5th grade, kissing for the first time at a Sadie Hawkins dance, losing their virginity to each other in the middle of the summer between freshman and sophomore year… in their Senior year, they won prom king and queen even though they weren’t on track to graduate at all. In their 5th year together they just had fun, they really stopped trying to pass at that point, but Y/N did anyway. She graduated in Steve Harrington’s year, it was weird accepting her diploma without Eddie, but she did it.

She graduated, she got into hairdressing school, she took out some loans she got an apartment and she was living in Indianapolis with the preconceived notion that Eddie would try this year and move in with her once he was free of Hawkins High…

And now she’s sitting in her room, alone, without a best friend or a boyfriend because he’s an idiot. Something happened over his march break, something that he wouldn’t tell her about, something that caused him to be on an FBI watchlist. And then something in him said they should break up because he was holding her back… from what? She had no fucking idea?? He just dumped her. Like it was easy like he had no problem doing it, on the phone in 27 seconds and then he was gone.

It’s not like she had huge life goals and they both knew success in high school didn’t translate after… just look at Steve Harrington at scoops ahoy? And now the video store? He was on track to be the most successful just because he was the most popular at school, where was Y/N on that list? She didn’t know, but it was probably closer to the bottom.

She calls him again, not getting him, only Wayne. “Dude, I��m in hairdressing school it’s not like I’m going to be the fucking president? What does he mean holding me back?”

“I don’t know,” Wayne sighs. “I can’t keep telling ya his secrets, you’re gonna have to talk to him about it.”

“He won’t talk to me?!”

“He’ll have to if you just showed up here?”

He was right. She knew it. “okay.. I’ll see what I can do.” And she left him alone after that.

She couldn’t get back to Hawkins for a while, she knew he wouldn’t be in Indianapolis for the unforeseeable future, so she just had to sit and stew in her feelings. Something she wasn’t really good at doing. She didn’t like to keep them in and she no longer had him there to tell everything to. She hated it.

She wanted to get the feelings out so she picked up a pencil and started scribbling out her feelings, noticing how some of it fit and rhymed and made sense more as a song. A breakup song, mildly angry, mostly confused… but a song nonetheless.

She was tapping on her desk, humming, “call me, say it’s over… I was your best friend we were the perfect shade… out of every colour, how did our love turn, how did our love turn grey?” She sings to herself.

With some of his stuff already at her apartment, the place he was supposed to move into next month, she finds his first ever electric guitar and his old amp, the ones that mean the most to him (much like how she felt) and plugged them in. She couldn’t stop herself from finding a riff, bounding her leg along, imagining hard drums, the kind of music she and the boys used to pretend to make in Gareth’s garage.. and it makes sense.

And it’s good.

So the plan changes, she makes a few phone calls, and then she has a band and then they’re coming over for practice and then it becomes a real song. She knew a few girls from the school band that had their hearts broken, she knew they’d be able to bring the energy that she wanted to this song and they sure fuckin did.

Gareth’s little sister, Gretchen, was her drummer, she was just as pissed off at Eddie for breaking up with Y/N as she was, and even angrier that the whole mess resulted in Jason breaking her brother's hand. Buckley could read notes, so transferring from trumpet to Key’s was easy for her and she really enjoyed it. She even added some extra sounds, synth, sandbags, and a cowbell? It brought another level to the song she didn’t know they needed, and the finishing touch was someone she never even knew had any musical talent, but Robin vogued for her. Nancy Wheeler could play guitar and she was fucking awesome at it. And also incredibly pissed at her ex, Jonathan. So it helped. It helped a lot.

The 4 of them were all angry and talented, and so the song reflected it.

So, on a stormy Tuesday, with all their stuff piled into the back of Nancy’s station wagon, they drove from practice in Indianapolis all the way to the Hideout in Hawkins. She knew they had a gig, or Eddie did, they weren’t a full band with Gareth’s hand still in a cast, so the boys just sat in the audience, turning his crowd from 3 to 6.

When Y/N called the hideout and booked their spot she gave them direct orders to not advertise who else was playing before Eddie’s spot. They didn’t care, it was a weird request but they kept their word. Eddie had no idea when he walked in that his ex-girlfriend would be coming out in a few minutes with his old guitar in his old clothes, singing a song about how he fucking hurt her for no reason.

He gets a drink to calm his pre-show nerves like always, sitting at the bar and watching the roadies set up the stage. It’s not unusual for him to not know who was playing, it was however for no one working there to give him a hint or a name, or anything really about who it was. For some reason he thought it was someone famous, he thought maybe the town being on the news brought someone new in, and the growing crowd fed his suspicion.

And then people he knew started coming in.

Steve and Dustin, who had a blue wristband on to let the bartender know not to serve him. “What are you doing here?”

“Oh, Robin's playing tonight,” Steve shrugs it off.

“She joined a band?”

He laughs, not knowing that Eddie didn’t know yet. “Yeah, with Nancy and Y/N?”

“What?” He barely has time to get a response out of Steve when the lights dim and the curtain closes.

Steve places a hand on his back, “get ready, man.”

“Fuck…” his heart drops to his stomach, he feels absolutely sick about having to see her… but he also wants to cry because he’s missed her so fucking much. Hating himself for the choice he made from the second he hung up the phone, he hasn’t been able to face her in the wake of everything.

He just couldn’t ruin her life being associated with him that closely.

When the curtain opens again the lights turn red and blue, making her glow a beautiful purple as she stands there with his guitar swung around her shoulders. He makes his way through the crowd to the front, watching her with big eyes as she introduces everyone.

“Hi,” she smiles, unable to see past the blinding lights, she had no idea he was this close to the stage. “I’m Y/N, and we’re Heartbreak Princess… and we’re really excited to share our first song with you guys.”

She turns around singling to Gretchen to start the song, it was really happening now. With light drums, she turns back to the mic, eyes closed, she takes a deep breath, “Everything was simple, I was your best friend. We were the perfect shade. Out of every colour… How did our love turn, how did our love turn grey?”

She steps away from the mic, biting her lip as she prepares for the reaction, “Fuck yeah!” Robin shouts as the beat drops and the song kicks in.

Stepping back in, playing along, she sings: “I’ve never known the glitter and gold or why I feel numb at 20 years old? Oh, why do I always do this again, again?

Tried to fill a boy who was empty inside. Traced around the edges, started crossing the line. Don’t just tell me it’s all in it’s all in my head.”

“It’s all in my head!” The girls sing backup.

“Call me, say it’s over. I was your best friend. We were the perfect shade. Out of every colour, how did our love turn, how did our love turn grey?"

Gretchen fucking kills the drums, angry as possible, really making it hit.

Letting Nancy take over as she mimes along… “Here we go, we’re at it again, I need a little time, could you pencil me in. I’ll make you hate me just to see if you can,” she puts in the dramatics.

“Let’s see if you can!” The girls sing back.

“Out of every colour,” Robin sings, first, followed by Y/N, “You were my favourite.” “We were the perfect shade,” they sing together into the silence.

And then the base drops and she jumps, singing loud enough still that the mic picks up her cry, “Oooh! Oh!”

Gretchen goes off! Nancy shreds so hard a press on nail pops off onto the stage, and the whole room erupts into chaos! It’s incredible.

“How could you say it’s over? When I was your best friend and we were a perfect shade. Out of every colour, why did our love turn, why did our love turn grey?”

She steps away, joining Nancy in the most epic guitar solo known to man, the two of them facing each other, letting Robin sing the rest of the song as they played together.

“Why did our love turn grey?”

She plays out the last few notes, turning back to the microphone as the band stops but the room doesn’t go quiet. “Thank you.”

He’s absolutely dumbfounded.

Standing in the front, bombarded by people rushing to the front in the heat of the moment, just absolutely blown away by how amazing she is.

He had no idea she had that in her, and by god was he proud of her for doing it. He claps and cheers, whistling so loud she locks eyes with him and knows he’s there close to the stage. And it pisses her off a bit.

“That was for my dickhead ex, this one is for me,” she announces before they start another song, a cover this time, Edge of Seventeen by Stevie Nicks to be exact.

She has a whole set to finish before he’s allowed to talk to her before he can say sorry, so he backs up into the crowd and gives the front to someone who wants it, letting Y/N have her moment.

And he’s gotta give it to the girls, Gretchen is kicking ass almost better than her brother… and he’s spent a lot of time playing in front of Gareth to know. Nancy is fucking awesome, he didn’t even know she knew how to play and he bet she could play better than him with those delicate fingers. And Robin can sing. Like really sing! Singing most of Edge of seventeen, hitting every high note of the background music, it was fucking amazing.

And with the song fading to quiet, Robin shows off again with her piano work as an all too familiar favourite of Eddie’s comes on. Head Over Heels, by Tears For Fears… it’s like she’s singing right into his soul.

He was wasting time. He took her heart, he broke her heart and he threw it away and she didn’t want any of it.

Like she’s singing right into his soul, he can’t believe he’s hurt her like this all for his own peace of mind. She didn’t give a fuck if he actually killed those people, she’d still come to knock on the glass and hold that prison phone each week to talk to him. She loved him more than anything.

He knew that now.

And in their last song, bringing them to the end of their 20-minute set, Nancy switches place with Y/N to sing Separate Ways by Journey. Which is when Eddie sees Jonathan head towards the door and right out of the bar.

All the girls up there were going through something. Eddie knew more than most people in the crowd, that confusion that Nancy was singing about was her newfound interest in Robin and her betrayal from Jonathan, changing the plans they had. And she lets out every feeling on that stage because of it, Nancy Wheeler is a rockstar.

There’s a 25-minute interval after gigs, a random playlist is played to fill the silence as everyone mingles back to the bar to refuel and Eddie heads backstage, waiting for her to come out and talk to him like she’s been dying to.

“I’m sorry,” are the first words to leave his mouth when he sees her.

She takes off her, well, his guitar and places it in its case before she pays him any mind. He can’t take it so he walks over to her, crowding her space but not touching her, “I’m so sorry.”

“You better be,” she crosses her arms and looks up at him. “That was so fucked up, you know? Not everyone in the world hates you, and so fucking what? I don’t! Let me love you, you fucking idiot.”

“Okay,” he doesn’t fight her. “I am an idiot, I really thought you wouldn’t want to go through life associated with me…”

“I don’t care what people say, and you shouldn’t either, we both know it’s not the truth,” she reminds him, stepping closer to him and placing her hands on his chest as she looks up into his eyes. “I love you.”

“I love you,” he cups her cheek in his one hand, caressing her with his thumb. “It’s been so hard ignoring you I’m literally so fucking stupid, I can’t believe I—

“It’s okay now,” she takes a deep breath and gives him a smile. “But I’m still going to perform that song all the time.”

He laughs, “as you should it’s fucking amazing. You’re amazing.”

He leans in for a kiss, pressing their smiling lips together as their noses bump. He breathes her in, the kiss softens and his hands both wander to her back to pull her in flush with him. She holds him back just as tight, very content with him back in her life.

Of course, all it took was a song for him to get that they were meant to be together forever. But at least he got it now.

warnings: a tiny bit of angst (legit none), swearing i guess, oh and sev!

overprotective and a slight amount possessive - especially when you guys are stopping at a bar or something.

if any drunks end up hitting on you, he’ll probably start death staring you and the man from across the bar. he starts his approach small and makes up for it later. by the time you leave the bar the guy is just a puddle on the sidewalk.

sparingly let’s you wear his flannels simply because you’re his baby, and because he finds it so hot. wants you and only you to wear his leather jacket whenever you can.

carrying photos of you in his inside pocket so he always has you with him.

sneaking into places you shouldn’t at night: parks, festivals, parties, stores, resorts absolutely anything

cleaning him up after feeding, or both of you cleaning eachother up (if you’re a vamp also) and him just staring at you in awe

he gives you one of his rings, as a promise ring to one day show that he’ll marry you. he intends to keep that promise.

dude has adhd i’m sure so have fun trying to sleep, he’ll stay up for hours talking about nonsense or bringing up stuff that happened ages ago, and you’re just like 😐

this man has no chill, forever whispering dirty things in your ear and having an arm slung loosely around your shoulders.

he never stops talking, always grumbling about something, but that always stops when you’re in the room or around… he just goes like 😯

even when you don’t notice it, he’s always got an eye on you, and an eye on others that are looking at you. always has a threatening look on his face to others when you’re in public.

i don't watch every rtvs member stream, so if anybody wants to chime in with vods from other folks, please feel free! i pretty much just watch wayne, holly, and scorpy's streams, so:

looking through wayne's catalogue i'm running into the problem that most of my favorites (like the among us, jackbox, & 420 streams) are best enjoyed when you're already pretty familiar with the crew, so maybe save those for later if you end up enjoying rtvs' stuff. all of the proximity chat among us videos are fantastic (and i like watching the same one from multiple peoples perspectives, holly's in particular are great). RTVS congress, a stream by baaulp, is also great and worth watching once familiar with the crew

i think my best wayne (well, on wayne's channel, all of these feature multiple members of the crew) recommendation though is gonna be I.M. MEEN, which is a completely normal playthrough of a regular copy of 90's kids' edutainment game i.m. meen, which has nothing wrong with it. for some of the other "rtvs brand of weirdness" sort of streams, check out waynekenstein's lab (fun with ai generated faces) and chex quest hd (just.. watch this one)

wayne does a lot of "grand tour" streams (technically the im meen one is one of these but), where he goes through older/weirder/obscurer games. fin fin on teo the magic planet is a FANTASTIC one (fin fin needs no introduction, but in case he does, odd 90's virtual pet with a great theme song), plus the echs bachs catalogue (a bizarre collection of pretty awful games made by one dude called Echs Bachs), and club penguin rewritten (it's club penguin, bro).

if you like seeing a game played over many hours and multiple streams, i'd check out chulip, lisa: the painful, minecraft 24 hour charity stream, and moon rpg: remix. lisa and moon remain unfortunately unfinished, but the streams are still absolutely worth checking out.

most of my favorite holly vods are biiiig long streams of a playthrough of a whole game. her stuff tends to be pretty chill and i find them nice and relaxing. sometimes there's friends joining her, sometimes it's just her. of these, i really like bugsnax (adore these ones. idk how to succinctly explain bugsnaz. is bugs, is snax, are you a jokester?), hypnospace outlaw (PLEASE watch these ones especially if you havent played/watched hypnospace before), and moonglow bay (really sweet fishing game).

holly also does a number of wikipedia streams, where she (and friends) read and discuss wikipedia articles about food for upwards of 6 hours a piece. it's really good. it's really good. i like the soup one.

another favorite holly stream is GO-FISH DELUXE FOR SUPER PLAYERS, where holly and a friend play a custom game of go fish for 7 and a half hours. i love this one.

and i would be remiss to leave out, of course, the pigmas in july peppa pig stream. which is where holly, joined by her sister if i remember correctly it's been a minute since i watched, plays the peppa pig video game for nintendo switch. this one is very worth watching to the very end.

my #1 recommendation from scorpy's catalogue is going to be every single one of the VHS VIEWINGZ streams. scorpy obtains and plays a bunch of vhs tapes on stream with friends, it's always always always a good time. my favorite of all of them is probably this one, which among other things, includes a tape about learning to be a clown. make sure to watch to the end for a t-bone tickler! this one, featuring Escalator Safety and VOLTON THE ELECTRITY DEMON is also great. i'm having a hard time choosing just a few, they're all really good, so i'm just gonna link the eye palming one and be done with it.

for gameplay with scorpy, i really like a way out with wayne (unintentionally hilarious 2 player narrative game about escaping from jail), any of the david cage game vods but here's detroit become human, and not for broadcast (a FMV game about running a tv station- censoring stuff, monitoring broadcasts, that sort of thing. has a very interesting narrative)

and a couple other things

ok so these aren't like, the typical stream vods, while they are technically livestreamed stuff they're not quite in the same category. but they're all really fucking good.

of course, half life VR but the ai is self aware. there's full stream vods available for these, but if you haven't watched before i highly recommend watching the edited versions on wayne's main channel linked above. in case you haven't heard of hlvrai before, basic concept is that it's an in-character playthrough (wayne roleplaying as gordon freeman) of half life 1 in VR with a cast of self-aware ai NPCs (played by other members of the rtvs crew) accompanying him through the game. no prior knowledge of half life necessary. just fantastic.

next up, GAMECLAM. a yearly e3-style gaming conference about the best video games console that doesn't exist. here's the first one, there's currently 3 in total. there's also a commentary video on scorpy's vod channel. PLEASE experience the gameclam. PLEASE experience the gameclam

lastly, half life: alyx but the gnome is TOO AWARE. wayne does a gnome run challenge of HL:A with a mod that gives the gnome a biiiit more personality. (due to some references, best watched after hlvrai, but they're not part of the same series/continuity). not all the way finished at the moment- the finale's been streamed (and you can find a 3rd party upload of the finale stream on youtube (thank you youtube user sawsily for everything you do)) but the edited version of the finale should be coming out pretty soon.

John Dory/Hickory Headcanons

I love them sm and I had a few ideas

John Dory fell HARD for Hickory first, it was during a party and Branch introduced the bros to his friends but when they got to Hickory, JD was SMITTEN

Every time he’d see Hickory, JD would get nervous and fidgety and try to look cool around him

Finding out Hickory is also a nature dude who lived in the mountains, JD has fantasies about Hickory random “manly” stuff and looking SO GOOD doing it👀💦

JD thought he was discreet about his crush and watching Hickory doing some hard work but Hickory caught on quickly and starting flirting

At first JD didn’t realize he was flirting bc JD doesn’t actually expect someone as cool, handsome and strong as Hickory to like him in any way (low self esteem)

But when his brothers point out that Hickory “definitely likes him back”, JD is genuinely shocked

Hickory definitely wants to go on a date but he loves how nervous JD gets and wants him to muster up the courage to ask Hickory out

One day JD manages to finally ask him out on a small hiking date and Hickory immediately agrees

Their date is really fun. They have a nice walk together on a pretty trail, they get to know each other more and Hickory is much more bold with his flirting. Honestly, JD was surprised Hickory showed up at all (again, low self esteem)

After the date, Hickory asks if he could kiss him and JD is so stunned but he says yes. The kiss felt so magical to him

The day after, JD is all giddy and still feels like it was all a dream. But when Hickory goes up to him and is all lovey dovey with him, JD is SO happy it was all real

As they have more dates, they grow closer

Their flirting and teasing is more outward

JD gets flustered so easily, even when he’s trying to impress Hickory with something

Rhonda absolutely loves Hickory bc he makes JD happy and that makes HER happy. So as far as she’s concerned, she has two papas now lol

Despite them being a very happy couple, JD still doubts that he’s good enough for Hickory. He’s constantly thinking that Hickory is better off with someone else, how he will find someone better, how he’d realize that JD isn’t worth his time, etc.

When Hickory finds out how JD feels, he has a whole talk with him about it and Hickory says he’s very happy being with him and he doesn’t wanna be with anyone else (which gets JD very emotional)

For their first anniversary (maybe six months?), they have a cute picnic in the woods together. Hickory sings him a sweet country love song, JD writes him a song back and they spend the rest of the anniversary on a nice and quiet nature walk (and when the night ends… well, you can guess what happens😏)

They like making each other breakfast. Hickory specifically likes making JD coffee. JD isn’t a fan of cappuccinos but Hickory’s will always be his favorite

They go on hikes and road trips about once a month, just having alone time with one another.

Hickory definitely attends performances JD has as much as he can. He always cheers him on and it makes JD so giddy after the show

JD’s bros tease him about his boyfriend and JD gets embarrassed but can’t help but smile bc “omg Hickory is my boyfriend!! Holy shit it just hit me!!!!”

Hugs and kisses are JD’s favorite things. Physical affection of any kind has him weak. He’s also extremely touch starved so the first time Hickory pulled him into a loving hug, JD got emotional and never wanted to let go

Branch is a little awkward about one of his friends dating his brother but he’s supportive and very happy JD found someone

Floyd is the HAPPIEST abt it and helps JD get ready for dates, gives him small pep talks and gives him advice

Bruce teases JD by asking if he wants to marry Hickory and JD is hella flustered. But he does admit he’s thought about it a LOT bc who wouldn’t lol

Poppy is jumping for joy that one of her best friends is dating her boyfriend’s (or just best friend depending on your shipping preferences) brother

Introducing JD to Dickory was terrifying bc Dickory is 1000% overprotective. He’d definitely threaten JD that if he hurt his little/twin brother, Dickory will hurt him

The Bros were ofc more chill but they do tell Hickory that he means a LOT to JD so please do not hurt him (or else they’ll hurt Hickory lol)

Okay anon I had to come across some twitter threads to see what you were getting at and let's sum it up yeah, a list of coincidences, things to do with larry and Chicago. I'm probably gonna miss a bunch (and prob not gonna list a bunch of others- i barely see the logic in these being intentional already), soo its a bunch of things that are in the realm of chicago + bears + phones/calling + home coinciding? I guess? Anyway:

Obviously the main point that's making us talk about this is Louis releases the song Chicago. With lines like "if you're lonely in Chicago you can call me (baby)" (that's not whole the takeaway of the song but I'm bringing in TSBL in a later point so we're highlighting her)

Adding here he said its half based on real events half theoretical, and he does have an affiliation to Chicago:

To start off with your points, during Harry's Chicago residency in October 2022, there was a phone booth at the venue and llama Doris posted about it (they havent much since :( ), with a description about calling Home.

Harry's band wears overalls with names of cities they've performed at, since Chicago some have showed up on stage with the name on it, for instance Mitch yesterday (that is nov 25th 2022.). I don't know how often they wear what. The band was also wearing Chicago overalls (Sorry for shit pic) on Nov 9th 2022, but like again I have no clue what they wear every other night.

On that note, nov 9th 2022 was also when the Silver Tongues mv released, and the shirt Louis wore in it, the Englandy Homey one, he was last seen weaing innnnnn padapadapada Chicago! (Feb 2022) (He wore it on stage before in Indianapolis)

Sidetrack on recent music videos, somehow the Sushi mv features a dude wearing a shirt that says "LT HS SENIORS", from a high school in Chicago. Although I think the highlight here is LTHS idk how many LT highschools are there to pick from if we're going for intent here.

More sidetrack on the Silver Tongues note: first teased couple days before it via photoshopped phone (or was it even, unclear, maybe a ref to all the calling lyrics in FITF incl. Chicago, is the phone in the mv?, he just said have a phone via youtube xoxo):

During Harry's 2022 Chicago shows he did some ring related stuff ( pointing a sign out in the crowd) and posted that pic of him with a ring backstage that looks like he was making fun of all the peace ring talk lol

During Harry's 2021 Chicago show(s sept 24 and 25), this was I believe the only time (or one of the rare occasions) there were mentions of Home playing before the show - artists pick

In 2021 he also first played To Be So Lonely ("don't call me baby again - it's hard for me to go home - to be so lonely") at Chicago night 2, mind this is the 12th show of the tour and only then added it, and it was and continued to be bathed in bluegreen lights (but then he got bullied into playing it thr previous shows and especially chicago night 1 so that's most likely the reason eh... and also i hope the fans never do that again.)

During one of the 2021 shows he also found 2 people in the crowd in Chicago where he went off (paraphrasing, check link) YOU LOVE EACH OTHER? [out of the fking blue:] YOURE BEST FRIENDS?? GET MARRIED. Mind you this was a few days before a 4 day break including September 28 so I can think of better reasons than the place he was at if we wanna read into that fhfhdhd. This was also when we got those Louis spotted in uh relative close proximity receipts.

For Louis' 2022 tour the only exit song among the massive list of curated post show songs that still stands out to me (although yes I can place it in the list of songs-we-fucked-around-with-on-stage-during-1d like I can make it make sense still thematically it's a detour from the rest imo) is Ceelo Green's Fuck You, yepyep played in Chicago

Were going back in time now: Louis got his 28 tattoo in Chicago in 2015 (together with the buttpenguin which keeps being brought up in current interviews)

Nonmonogamous things are cool, platonic things, romantic things. I’m pretty game for most things. noncon and abusive stuff clearly not for me. i work a 9 to 5 i hate, i'm trying to have fun and vibe. Maybe the occasional toxic ship but Chris is a very tired dude and doesn't have time for another toxic ting.

John Dory would actually be a pretty good ambassador for the pop trolls if you really think about it. As a guy whose passion is in song writing and music composition he would be able to get into in depth discussions on the logistics behind the different components of the different music genres and he’s generally they type who doesn’t focus on what he doesn’t like and focuses on what he does like. Say what you want about John being controlling but he did appear to be very good at constructive criticism as band leader even during the flash back. So when he encounters musical choices that aren’t necessarily his thing instead of insisting that it’s wrong or bad (like poppy did) he’d probably pick out the parts of it that he does like even if it’s not his cup of tea and complement and appreciate how much skill and training it takes to make that kind of sound even if it’s not his favorite sound. This however would give the other tribes the impression that pop trolls are very tolerant to musical differences and genre differences which would screw them in the long run.

I bet when JD heard heavy metal for the first time he said something like “the vocal fry and voice projection is very impressive it must be hard to project your voice loud enough that the electric guitar doesn’t drown out the vocals must have taken a lot of training” a very in depth and genuine complement and also he’d probably be able to explain the reasoning behind certain choices in pop music composition in a way that actually makes sense and is interesting to the other troll tribes.

Like music composition people love talking about genre differences and the historical and compositional relevance behind choices even in music genres they don’t like. JD is going to give these people the impression that pop trolls love and appreciate almost all kinds of music and put a lot of effort into composing their music so it’s full of talent, meaning and creativity when in fact that is an incorrect impression and JD is just a try hard and a perfectionist who puts in way more effort then the average pop troll.

I like to think that John Dory just knows so much about making music that he doesn't even realize how impressive it is. The dude was so intent on making things the best he possibly could with the music of his band, I have no doubt he knew a ton about music in general - even stuff he didn't personally put in his music cause when you get into that sort of thing, you learn SO much.

What was the first thing John Dory did when he left? He literally went to explore/hike/see nature. He definitely has an appreciation for new things and wanted to see what the world had to offer. Almost his entire reason for leaving was simply that he was so stressed out from raising four kids that shouldn't have never been his responsibility in the first place. Now I do agree with his choice? Not particularly, but I understand it.

Now, I think people could have different theories on how John Dory would be with the other types of music and different tribes. Personally, I subscribe to him getting an appreciation for them. He's kind of a perfectionist; so him learning about new things seems like he would want to use that to make his own music better.

On the other hand, I don't know how much music he really would have made when he was traveling but I do like to think that he kept writing. But it would be super funny if the trolls from other tribes who met him/know a bit about him come around to the other Pop trolls and are surprised when other Pop Trolls are far more laid back when it comes to music creation. And that John was just kind of a perfectionist who was constantly trying to make his music better in his eyes.

It's a fun concept.
