that is a joke. i speak in jest. this fic has taken me almost a year to write. it was requested of me in july of 2022 and its currently april 2023. i want to give my highest regards ever to the most lovely and patient human being in this world miss ame. your kind words through updates kept me pushing through the very end and i hope this fic is everything you could want

this fic is pretty dark all things considered. though my scale for that is kind of fucked and since this is my tumblr audience - you people are well-aware it gets bad but its... still pretty graphic. there is a lot of truly henious shit in here and its in the perspective of that guy.

tldr ; don't read if you think it will give you the heebie jeebies. u are not obligated and i am not your mother nor am i a public executioner. if this is the one fic u skip out on no hard feelings at all. i mean this.

this fic is one of Those Fics where writing it did something to my brain. i have never, ever in my entire writing career been so challenged by a single project. every single element of this fic has been run through a million things. the last time this happened was my big deku fic but that fic rlly feels like a cakewalk in comparison.

all that to say, because it has simply been seeing my eyes only for months with no input from anyone else - i have no idea how anything worked out. no beta no meds just balls to the wall insanity. i can only measure my own work so much and i have bar zero expectations for this fic just to save myself some sanity.

i ask very kindly that if it sucks u just dont tell me. and if it doesn't and u want to be nice that'd be cool too. but know that a lot of my heart and soul went into this and i hope in the very least - you are able to discern that in its makeup.

a lot of the stuff ive worked into here is related like. to plot and motif and actual development. the dog motif is a huge part of the story as is the religious imagery. i want this fic to feel like a fall from grace in a sense. it is a character study as much as its anything else. where there's always something wrong and one day everything goes to shit. i think gojo is that kind of sicko.

i also do like. love gojo so much. this fic is written with nothing but adoration for him in mind.

💭RAMBLING WENOVAN THOUGHTS💭

I've had this in my drafts for a couple of days, so whatever.

Y'all know I like to mess with AI and filters and all that shit

I've done quite a bit nunya have seen, centered around an (much) Older Wednesday, which means aging puppy-faced Jenna up...I can rlly say that for once this is an improvement over the original

But I'm still thinking that Afterburn Wednesday will still age verrrrry slowly...like here with this AI-enhanced photo I'd put her around Donovan's current age (which would have left her without him for...20-something years? Just a sec while I break out my calc...23 years...but that's only if I go through with his current death plans).

I got a couple more positive comments on my story, which lifted me up a bit. New readers, even. 🫠💖✨ I think what people who look at my ships or look at what I write about their ships then look at my ship forget that I'm writing this mainly from Wednesday's perspective as a young, introverted, hypersexual steampunk stoner girl who is attracted to way older men; Donovan's POV is secondary. And she doesn't want to just fuck him, that girl wants dominion over him 💀🤣 This isn't some shitty little schoolgirl crush, like Morticia implied. This is the result of a misanthrope spending her first 15.91 years contemplating what she wanted in a friend and life partner, and the serendipitous circumstances upon which they met.

One person mentioned that the smut is its own character. 🫠💦💦💦💦💦 I thought that was an astute observation. I tend to keep uh...writing more and more of that character. (I write from experience. 🙊✨) Today, in fact, I proceeded to continue to write smut that happened on November 12, 2023 (yes, just a few days ago). <strike>And depending how I end it, I can't fucking publish it until next year because of a certain circumstances going on in their lives at this point would be a major spoiler.</strike> (ETA: This is what I decided was publishable. But I've its graphic and extras to put together.) But it's nice smut. They're very happy together right now, in spite of everything that's happened with Tyler and Laurel (who survive in my story...so far). The only thing Afterburn Wednesday isn't happy about on November 18, 2023, is that she feels like she can't ever talk about her life, even though she doesn't want to.

Trust, she's writing up notes for her memoirs, but even though she doesn't like to talk to people in general, she just wishes she had the option of talking about it, which she can't, unless she talks to her parents, Fester, Thing, or Enid (and Eugene), and she doesn't care about those options. She feels like if she opens up about Donovan to others, people will make her out to be a victim/him out to be a predator, and that's the last thing she wants. She genuinely adores him and the way he makes her feel, and even though she hates talking about her feelings, she would like to believe that she could talk freely if she ever needed to, but she can't because people will judge him. She doesn't care much about herself being judged by others, but she does care a lot about the men that she loves and about their being judged because of her presence in their lives. (Scene I just added to takes place in February 2024 and she assaults someone who was whispering about her and Donovan 💀)

I'm rambling. It's 1 AM. I'm guessing that right now, they're probably asleep. Together, in Mansville, with Elvis in a fancy new pet bed that Wednesday matched with the cabin's drapes. Isn't that nice? 🥰 Did they have the sexings? Maybe. Whether or not they did, she's sleeping in his arm, cuddled in and curled around him. She falls asleep in his arm curled either way (koala hug or Little Spoon), and it's become her favorite thing to do at night (even over sex). Most of the time, AB Wednesday will fall asleep with her little fingers scratching his beard, and Donovan will move her hand to his chest once it drops due to her slumber. Sometimes her fingers move after; sometimes not.

If Donovan falls asleep first, Wednesday's brain continues to race (because she's always thinking about something). She's done a lot less weed in the past year, so that is affecting her moods/behaviors. She constantly worries about his health--yes, yes, we knew that was gonna be a big issue, but she bought the house and land outright, no need to moan about a mortgage--and has paid good money to hire them a chef and personal trainer (y'all gonna laugh or cry when I get his personal trainer up in a scene) to get him into better health...so far over the course of a year, he's quit drinking spirits and is more muscular in the trunk area, and losing a little bit of fat down in the pelvic area means more room for certain appendages to shine...Fun fact: AB Wednesday was a bit 'off' in her eye-measurement of Donovan's cock. He's not a 'Peacemaker' at 7.5 inches. He's more like 8 and 3/8 inches hard, once she used the measuring tape she found in the woodworking room of the cabin. She is making his life better.

Still rambling here (now it's almost 2 since I also sit here and think about what I wanted to say re: all this shit). So how did he make her life better? Besides getting ((SPOILER)) and then ((SPOILER))? It could very well be argued that either of those things he did didn't make her life better at all, and that they might have even ruined it. But that's an argument for our world, because the premise of the AB world is that sometimes 'impossible' things do work out, as hard as they can seem. Because it's fiction. Anything can happen in fiction and it needn't be something that aligns morally, or even logistically, with our world (since it's not our world!).

...Well shit. I need to take my own damn advice and just re-write some of that shit that was If You Don't Woe Me By Now.

Back to Wenovan working out. She feels her life is better because of both ((SPOILERS)). She knows she's young and inexperienced (learned those lessons in S1 and S2), but she also just wants to get on with her life with Donovan. And earlier in the summer, she decided that she is choosing a new path within forensics...and I won't say which path bc that's a giveaway for another part of the story. But it is a path that would keep her busy in Jericho, along with the other things that keep her new roots firmly planted in that quaint little town (rather, Mansville is where she's chosen to live when she's not at Donovan's house...though I'm not sure if they live there anymore? I'd have to check my longer outline). To her, Mansville is the perfect place to live, love, and write, which is what she's done quite a bit of, since moving in last year. She may even graduate Nevermore early, depending on other factors.

Still rambling and giving away little insights into where my fictional couple is in real time/what they've already done since November 2022. Ah right, the parents issue. The relationship between Morticia and Wednesday remains strained and even moreso after revelations in After the Burn. Still, it was Morticia who helped talk Gomez down from hiring a hitman and getting him to accept Wednesday's wishes to be with Donovan. Wednesday was also able to convince Gomez to take the rhodium mine that was to be hers on her eighteenth birthday and put it in Donovan's name, so they needn't ever worry about money. And of course he did it...anything for his little girl (who he can now see isn't so little anymore). There were other things that Wednesday was set to inherit on her eighteenth, but it was the mine that she wanted (and needed) now. One ton has already brought in over $100 million since the transfer of ownership. Neither of these two ever have to work again (especially after Wednesday inherits the bulk of the fortune), so that probably counts as a plus on how they as fictional couple can work.

It's much harder when you're trying to own a home or raise a family or whatnot and have zero money to do it (obvs.). There is a power dynamic at work from the beginning here, and whether people want to admit it or not, rich people have a very green power that people like and respect, and I would argue that the power imbalance here is caused by Wednesday's billionaire heiress status (Gomez was listed as a fictional billionaire back in the 90s). She literally has the power to buy the sheriff's office off, much like how the Gates Family did with Sheriff Walker. She can bribe dirty cops in Donovan's department. She could've bribed Noble. She told Dr. Kinbott straight out that she could pay to make people disappear. Money is power. To say that Wednesday has no power over any of these people 'because she's a kid [sic]' is a grave mistake (no pun intended), and Donovan caved into both of their desires because part of him was scared of what she would do if he outright refused her; y'all say things like "He's the adult, he needs to be better!" but forget that this 'girl' is not a 'harmless child'...she's physically maimed people who piss her off (Dalton, her editor). When Donovan thought that maybe she'd set bears on him, it was a legit fear. 😂 The POINT is that Wednesday is scary and you don't want to piss her off OR say "no" to her (because saying no would piss her off...). And she uses that creepy persona to get what she wants (like how she did it with Ajax in my last upload). It's highly manipulative.

Anyway. You should seeeeee the gift Wednesday got for Donovan in July. Holy shit, it was extravagant. But since that story also contains a huge spoiler, I can't publish that one either (yet).

And I know they're (technically) billionaires, but I need a scene where Donovan goes off about the price of bread, because $7 a loaf is insane. Wednesday will have their chef start making bread for them. Which yanno...for them costs $40 an hour 🤣 But whatever keeps him from acting like an old man yelling at kids to get off his lawn.

It's an odd coupling, but the Addamses are odd, and Wednesday just isn't the average sixteen (now seventeen!) year old. Like Ortega herself, AB Wednesday talks like she's 45. Her brain matches Donovan's brain more than it does her peers (as was Kinbott's observation). She feels safe with him--despite what occurred in canon--and feels like she can be herself around him, learn useful things from him, and never has to want for anything with him. And that's what we all want for N/C Wednesday. And Donovan. The man's been through Hell, and while he's still wondering if he's on a weird acid trip, he's got a lovely young ((and spoiled)) partner to revive the spirit in him that was crushed by life. ✨🖤💖💙✨

so. i think all alternates want to be loved, no matter how far down theyve buried that want. were conditioned from creation to think that gabriel is the only one who can love us, but He wont unless we follow His command to the letter. and what that translates to is killing humans senselessly . and not only that but like. us alts... we like violence. we want to kill. its integral to our beings. none of us can really be "nice" or "good" 24/7 and that uh ... tends to sound scary to the average person . so even if we did all collectively decide to turn against gabe and humans like... magically forgave us for killing and kidnapping thousands of people, its not like we could ever be "normal" members of society. its not like we could ever be loved. so no one really bothers trying.

anyways, from what i can tell, alternate attachment happens when that kinda barrier between humans and alts gets broken (at least from the alt's perspective), and it typically happens when an alt is in close proximity to its assigned victim for a long period of time. that time varies from alt to alt too, like it deffo took a lot longer for atlas to get attached to cesar than it did for me to get attached to mark. nd i could be wrong abt this but i also noticed like. the more a victim interacts w their alternate, even if theyre doing it in a threatened or scared way, the more likely it is for the alt to get attached. "taking an interest" in a specific human is the most telltale sign of attachment, to the point that the phrase is pretty much "slang" for it among alts .

also just to clear this up: while alternate attachment can be romantic, it absolutely doesnt have to be. not at all. id describe my attachment to mark as like. familial honestly. and sometimes there arent even human words to describe an alts attacemt. its a spectrum yk? so dont think any of this is inheritly romantic or some shit cuz ill beat you up

as for what it does. well .

you dont know when u first meet a human that youre gonna get attached. i certainly didnt  . so u just kinda do ur thing n shit, but sometimes it doesnt work and the human lives so ur like. okay ill try again . or maybe youre just doing a long job and ur learning all of ur victims habits n shit. and thats where it kinda begins

the first thing you notice is that like. even though its ur job to kill your human its like. its fun to keep them alive . yk  . you grow to like the sound of em screaming in terror , or them freezing up when they see you . whcih. yeah that sounds kinda fucked to you guys but . just bear w me okay  .

anyways. eventually it gets to the point where, even if youve been given several opportunities to kill your human, you dont take them cuz its just that fun to mess w em. this is kinda where the "taking an interest" thing comes in  too . and then THAT goes into "ok wait . do i rlly have to kill them eventually  ?? i dont want to do that theyre funny :(((("

eventually you realize that like. shit . i dont want this human to die at all. like. at ALL. to the point you'd fight off other threats just to keep them safe. and you get this just- rush of an emotion youve never felt before whenever youre around them. aand you realize. thats love. you feel love towards them, no matter what kind of love that is. its. it feels so wrong at first and- and you hate it, but it just feels so right to the point where you cant imagine feeling any other way about them.

and as you may have guessed. you start to see the human as your own. its kinda hard to really describe but,, it makes sense if you experience it. you need to protect them and love them and hold them so so close or else they might get away from you. and you change yourself so that you can be worthy of being loved back. its. ough its a crazy ass feeling for sure

this, uh,, doesnt come without problems thouugh. for one just cuz an alternates attached to a human doesnt mean the human necessarily likes them back. in fact its honestly really lucky that both me and atlas got attached to humans that actually didnt hate us. (for a while at least.) theres a fuck ton of rumors that get spread around of those who got attached and excommunicated, only for the human they were attached to kill themself because they couldnt live with an alt constantly following them around and trying to talk to them.

not to mention you hafta constantly live in fear all the damn time cuz you could get discovered n tortured at any moment. its. its really shit but damn it if your human doesnt make it all worth it. damn it if you wouldnt endure any kind of danger just to stick with them. damn it if you dont want to comfort them and feel murderous rage whenever theyre sad and.

Well, time for my autistic hyperfixation skills to shine! Here's your cheat-sheet for what Halo EU media to skip to for the good parts (aka aliens):

Since you've already read The Cole Protocol, Envoy is a rlly good skipping point. Besides the greatness that is Rojka 'Kasaan, and it having a pretty notable Jiralhanae villain, it's also written by the same author and follows up on the Gray Team storyline introduced in the former book.

Hunters in the Dark also makes the top of my list for fleshing out the Halo 3 co-op characters N'tho 'Sraom and Usze 'Taham and giving us nice cross-species positive interactions. Also can't forget Broken Circle, as it's all Sangheili and San'Shyuum in the story, no humans for once. It's split between two timelines: the era of the Covenant's founding and the time of Halo 2.

The Ferrets series of books (Last Light, Retribution, and Divine Wind so far) features the reoccurring antagonistic faction the Keepers of the One Truth lead by the Jiralhanae named Castor. The Master Chief series also features Fleetmaster Nizat 'Kvarosee in the first two books (Silent Storm and Oblivion) and the Keepers in Shadows of Reach; haven't read them yet but I heard good things about Nizat so far and he seems to be one of the more unique in the lore, being kinda older than most Sangheili we've seen so far. Also can't forget the Halo CE novelization, The Flood, which featured the first portrayal of Covenant perspectives in canon I believe (and therefore some of the lore and characterization there is a bit off in comparison to the rest of the books, but it's fine). Zuka 'Zamamee and Yayap are a real treat in that one, even if the tone of their sections are a bit sillier than most (from my impression so far, haven't finished the book yet actually).

And I kind of have to include the Kilo-Five trilogy, although with the fair warning that they're a bit divisive amongst the fandom. You're either gonna like them or despise them. I think a majority people, regardless of how they feel about the trilogy as a whole, did find the alien sections fine though. If I had to re-read them again I'd probably skip to just those chapters. Jul 'Mdama is a prominent character in the first two books (Glasslands and The Thursday War), with his wife Raia 'Mdama having more of a spotlight in the second, but then the whole 'Mdama plotline wraps up and gets replaced by Kig-Yar Chol 'Von in Mortal Dictata (although she's a good character on her own and it's unfortunate her story never got picked up by other authors after the trilogy ended). Other notable aliens in the trilogy include Forze 'Mdama, Avu Med 'Telcam, Sav Fel, and probably the most concentration of named Huragoks in a Halo storyline ever. Thel also makes some appearances here too.

Speaking of the 'Mdamas tho; I haven't gotten to it yet but Legacy of Onyx does feature Jul and Raia's sons as major players post-Halo 5, plus I believe there is a Sangheili teacher character and maybe some rare alien kid characters. Ohhhh and I can't believe I almost forgot, but upcoming book Outcasts is gonna feature Thel as a main character again! Been waiting for it but it got delayed, we should finally be getting it in August tho. You may want to read the Master Chief books first tho since it looks like some lore introduced there will be featured here too, especially since it's the same author Troy Dennings.

Finally to round out the recs are the anthologies. I'd go for Fractures before Evolutions, as the former has Shadow of Intent with Rtas, Tul 'Juran, Vul 'Soran, Stolt, and Tem'Bhetek and Oasis with Jat (who existed for maybe a dozen pages but has captured my heart for years). Latter still has Henry (human nickname, we never learned his real name because of language barrier) in The Mona Lisa, some named Jiralhanae in Stomping on the Heels of a Fuss (which I forgot about so idk if it's because it's been years or if they did not have much of a role), and an unnamed Sangheili shipmaster who's the focus of The Return. The Return & The Mona Lisa also got "animated" adaptations in the form of voice-acted motion comics you can find on YouTube.

Those are all books but maybe I might as well throw in the comics. Obviously there's the Rise of Atriox miniseries. Also not as well known but there was a small prequel comic for the first Halo Wars which features Ripa 'Moramee's origin story; I got the physical copy as part of my game copy, idk if there's a way to access it digitally. The Halo Graphic Novel includes the famous Halo story The Last Voyage of the Infinite Succor feat Rtas 'Vadum and Thel in his Fleetmaster era. Haven't read it but Blood Lines has two Sangheili brothers as major antagonists. Tales From Slipspace has Atriox in Hunting Party and Avu Med 'Telcam in Knight Takes Bishop. Finally one of the more well known comics, Escalation has a few points of interest (note I haven't read all of 'em yet and going off Halopedia for this): Thel in Issues 1-3 + Jiralhanae Lydus, Jul 'Mdama and Sali 'Nyon in the Janus Key arc (Issues 13-16) and Absolute Record arc (Issues 19-24), and Ayit 'Sevi in Absolute Record arc.

And what the heck. let's get obscure: The Halo Wars Official Strategy Guide published by Prima Publishing includes some flash fiction featuring Ripa 'Moramee and The Prophet of Regret, because sometimes crumbs is all ya get. Halo: Legends - aka the official Halo anime - also has The Duel which shows an ancient Arbiter and why the title is considered dishonorable in modern Halo times.

Oh and... I guess there's the Forerunner trilogy, for like, Forerunners... tbh tho they're basically bootleggish humans to me, I rank them the lowest out of all the Halo aliens and don't really consider them most of the time when hyper-focusing on Halo aliens.

Okkk The Christmas Fic first…

It was the absolute PERFECT ending honestly it wrapped it all up so well it was soo nice to finally see them just be able to spend time with each other and be comfortable for once without fictional George’s family somewhere in the house. The proposal was SO good oml it was so sweet and how he’d had the ring for like ten years ?!!!!!!! Also so nice to see it end when they’re both finally going to get the rest and happiness over Christmas that we’ve been waiting for the whole fic! Honestly the perfect end to such a good story.

And nowwww - all the kings horses bc I always have too much to say on it

-I was NOT ready for them to move onto the properly friends stage so quickly omg???? A jump scare (but an AMAZING one) !!! Their dynamic is soo percect and I’m so glad fictional Matty finally has a friend!!

-The show omlll I was so happy that fictional Matty got to actually compete w his horse like he’d been wanting too and the way you described it was soo perfect. It’s soo good reading it more from fictional George’s perspective as we don’t rlly know exactly how fictional Matty is actually feeling about the whole thing since he’s obviously got his past on his mind but is also happy about sally.. (but it looks like fictional George can read him pretty well already)

-And George asking him to COME OVER??!??!???!!!!!!! Omg I was not prepared for any of this so soon. And you wrote it soo well it was so sweet. And it’s amazing to finally see fictional George being the properly awkward one and fictional Matty having a bit more control!!!!

The Christmas Fic!! Ah! I'm so happy that you enjoyed the ending! I was also very happy with it - I know it wasn't really the *big dramatic ending* but it made me happy writing it and felt like it fit the characters I had created. Like of course Fictional!George would propose to Fictional!Matty while they were sitting in bed on Christmas Eve and then Fictional!Matty would blurt out that he has a stomach ulcer - like it was very on brand for them I think lol and YES Fictional!George has had the ring for ten years - it's actually something I came up with while working on the A&E Fic (and how Fictional!George very much notices which hand Fictional!Matty is wearing rings on when he breaks his wrist)

Now, on to All the King's Horses!

Yes! We wasted enough time we are moving onto FRIENDSHIP (also this chapter is implied to take place a few weeks after they all went to dinner, friendshipping has happened just off screen lol) now if Fictional!George can just get it together enough to admit his actual feelings...

Fictional!Matty is having some complex feelings thanks to some complex trauma and Fictional!George doesn't even know the half of it! We might learn some more about this whole situation though in the next chapter... might also find out what The Accident really was 👀

Fictional!George is ready to actually be friends! And that is NOT going to happen if they try and do it at their place of work lol Who knows maybe they'll even get to have a little snuggle lol

documenting my asd screening so i dont forget when i have counseling next week

the assessment person and the psycologist were rlly nice. let me start from the beginning of the test tho

to start, i had blocks w different sides.. there were red and white sides and then half white & half red ones. ok. and then there was a picture that i had to replicate with my blocks, and i was timed each picture to see how long it took me to figure it out. some of them i did not figure out because HOWWW was it possible?

then i had vocab. she would tell me a word and id have to tell her what it meant. the words i remember are shirt, lamp, calendar, car, haste, mullify... there were abt 14 more words, but those are the ones i remember

next, i did another brain game. it was a pattern one... id like to say i did well on it. it was pretty easy until the last 8 (think there were 25 total)

had a short break, and then i had to explain a picture to her. there was SO MUCH going on. i would tell her, "oh, theres a person swimming" and she would ask me if i like swimming. she did that multiple times throughout, as well as saying something vague abt her. it was probably to see my conversation skills lol

theres a rlly funny part at this point. she asked me if i liked to swim in the ocean or in a pool. i told her pool, and then opened up abt my horrible fear of fish. she said "oh, im sorry to hear abt that"

on the next exercise, i had to read a book... with no words. i had to tell the story with there being no words... just pictures. IT WAS CONFUSING? but it made sense at the end. though, this is the funny part, this book had fish in it, and they looked more realistic. they were drawn smaller so i could just avoid looking at them by looking at a different part of the page, but i sped through that page.

i found it funny that the book had fish in it after i told her abt my fear of fish. i think the other book was abt a frog, though, so this one was prob the least worse of the two.

then she said "this may seem silly but pretend that this is the sink, this is ur toothbrush, and here is ur toothpaste. say i forgot how to brush my teeth, can you dememstrate how to brush ur teeth?"

and i ONLY KNEW NOT TO DO THE DAMN MOTION from a tiktok i saw. i think i did it like once but BRO? IF I HAD NOT SEEN THAT LIKE TWO DAYS AGO?????

i wouldve failed that

after that, we talked about things that made me happy, sad, afraid/anxious, mad, and relaxed and how i felt when i feel all of those emotions. we talked about my life... how i see the future, what i do now im out of school, if i had any friends.... talked a little bit abt school, too, and how i was when i was in school. oh, she also asked me if i ever feel lonely, how i cope, and how i think other people cope.

i filled out some paperwork (questionnaires, really). one was 50 questions long, nd the other was 100.

after that, i talked with the psychologist about some of the things i put down. she asked me if i was in counseling, asked abt my behaviors now, and if i remember any as a child, and how i came to seek a diagnosis

yeah, thats that.

she gave me a few questionnaires for my parents to fill out and send back to her to see me in a different perspective yk

my result appointment is in about a month

i am exhausted from this assessment

it was from 8:55a-12:15p

i am EXHAUSTED

a list of things i absolutely love about / kind of analysis on hog hunt, compiled as i watch it for the second time:

right near the beginning when they’re raising the anvil, she does this really cool transition from the light on the anvil to the light on the curtain in tubbo’s first few frames. it’s incredibly smooth and it works rlly well. the pattern is also continued to the shine on tubbo’s axe when he twists it to see his face in it which is also rlly neat.

i’ll probably point this out several times, but the use of perspective in this animatic is amazing. we first see it from phil standing on his balcony looking at the raised anvil, but the use of perspective is absolutely INCREDIBLE all throughout this animatic.

we see it right after this, actually, with the trees and the crow flying over it. not only is the perspective so cool here, but the motion with the feathers is also amazing.

i also love how whenever ghostbur shows up, the screen gets a little glitchy. i’m not sure what i like about it but it’s just kinda fitting with his static-y eyes and such.

PHILS CROWS!!

THE TRANSITION SCENE FROM TUBBO WALKING DOWN THE HALL OF THE WHITE HOUSE TO HIM PULLING OUT THE AXE AND SUDDENLY THE BUTCHER ARMY IS ALL THERE. that was so absolutely satisfying, with the sound effect of quackity’s torch and all. also ranboo is there which is <3

the transitions in this animatic really might be my favorite part. we get the bit with techno suiting up with his cape and his crown and then the really cool fog that allows him to appear outside with the butcher army, and we can see someone level their axe in front of them and BOOM techno appears out of the smoke, pulling the axe back and swinging. it’s AMAZING.

the swinging motion from that last scene allows a little bit of a still waving transition into the butcher army room, which is STUNNING by the way (and also ranboo) which then flawlessly pulls into phil and then the scene in phil’s house with the shattered glass visual and audio combination it’s AMAZING. the frame with phil’s chest in white on the black background with the only color being ghostbur’s blue is also really neat here as well.

i absolutely ADORE the frames where tubbo finds the compass, because you can hear and see the smirk in his voice and i love how the compass drops down on the little string and it’s just. so poggers. love that. the part directly after that where it zooms in on phil and you get the opportunity to see the weight of the situation from his perspective is AMAZING.

and the collection of frames after that that go in the flashes of light? quackity with his back to the screen, techno reading the letter (TECHNOGLASSES POG) phil’s compass slowly pointing forward to the viewer? the flash of phil standing on his balcony, and then the butcher army which gets cut off of view by one of phil’s crows, with the feathers in the background that morph into his wings? this sequence is so powerful, for a reason i can’t quite place, but i absolutely adore it.

THEN WE GET THAT PHIL SCENE THAT EVERYONE’S FAWNING OVER, AND RIGHTFULLY SO. the camera slowly pans down to phil’s face, and then his hat tips forward so the shadow can grow on his face, and then we get that really cool glitch effect where he turns all black with the white eyes and such. it’s so cool.

then we get the ‘i choose blood’ scene, which in all honesty i had to replay several times to properly get my thoughts down on. this whole bit is so incredibly smooth and flows so well, with techno’s cape and the butcher army readying their axes and then techno pulling the potions from seemingly nowhere and then the colored smoke again from earlier- which i quite literally can’t get enough of, sad-ist do your shoes need shinin ma’am, and then the whole sequence where tubbo is pinned by techno and screaming at quackity to do something, which transitions FLAWLESSLY into big q and carl. you can see techno’s shock even before he realizes quackity actually has carl, and i applaud sad-ist for being able to convey that much emotion even without techno’s eyes.

the spinning from the camera being right next to techno to right behind quackity is also amazing. i think the color of the background shifts slightly? which i think might represent something, but it sort of just stood out to me in the moment. the perspective when quack is talking and holding carl’s reigns is amazing, because it’s slightly below quack’s eye level, which gives us the impression of looking up at him, and also really allows us to see how much danger carl is actually in.

once again i applaud sad-ist for her ability to convey so much emotion in techno even with half of his face covered. his resignation of his own safety for carl’s is aggressively clear as he drops the cape and the crown away.

and then we get the phil sneaking out sequence, which i had to slow down to properly appreciate, but it’s REALLY cool. the blue handprint on the tree? the entire skull motif? (which my friend mysso pointed out) it ties back into The phil scene from this animatic earlier and i really love it.

then we have literally what might be my favorite scene in this animatic!! which is stupid maybe because it’s one of the less important scenes, but i love it nonetheless. it’s the scene where they’re walking techno into lmanburg and phil is on his balcony and says “you actually got him” which transitions into tubbo reminding him that he’s on house arrest and then techno running forward with the chains (which have their own noise, which i think is such a poggers detail) and demanding to know what they did to phil. i love absolutely everything about this scene, from (once again) the extreme amount of expression that techno has even with the mask to the fact that it takes both quackity and fundy to restrain him once he’s pissed off to once again the absolutely FLAWLESS motion in that bit. you can see the struggle happening perfectly with techno’s flailing and quackity reaching forward to grab his arm and all, and i love it.

the little short scene we get with techno shifting slightly side to side to imply walking slowly in time with the music is also really cool. detail in sad-ist’s animatics my beloved.

THEN WE HAVE THE PUNZ SCENE!!! i absolutely love this one because of the use of perspective as well. it flips from tubbo doing his speech to the rooftop with punz and dream, and dream slowly raises his hand and punz flips the ender pearl and then APPEARS on the ground, sheds the cape in a single movement (might honestly be my favorite singular motion in this animatic) tosses the potions, we see the beloved colored smoke again, and when it clears punz and ranboo are going at it. you get the amazing panic in tubbo’s voice with him screaming at big q to pull the lever, and techno’s iconic little ‘heh??’ and then-

anvil drops. here comes the best scene in this animatic.

we get a few seconds of techno staring up at the anvil in shock, holding the totem, and it’s super cool actually because at the very end of that you see the bottom of the anvil come into super sharp detail in the reflection of techno’s eye. it flashes to ghostbur on the outside, watching the anvil fall, and when the sound of impact comes the totem explodes. that frame on its own is amazing and i might make that my background just because of how dynamic it is, with the light exploding and everything, and THEN. THEN WE GET TECHNO’S ABSOLUTELY STUNNING REANIMATION SEQUENCE with the flesh wrapping back around him, being stitched together it’s the green totem threads, his skull underneath and the blood, it’s amazing. he jumps through the bars of the cage with the chains mostly broken except for one on his hand, and he runs off after dream who has carl. WHILE THIS IS HAPPENING, (and someone on tumblr just pointed it out,) techno is still actually reforming. one of his legs is only fully solid once he’s outside the cage and one of his arms is still reforming when he swings it through the bars- thats why he’s able to get out so easily, and that’s why it’s bleeding in the next few scenes.

dream in this animatic is terrifying, by the way. he’s the most inhuman we’ve ever seen him, with the hood always up and the shadow covering half the mask so there’s no way to see under it. i know a few people on tumblr have pointed out sad-ist’s design progression with dream (from very very human with the mask on the side to the mask on to the mask and the cape) but it’s so wonderful that i felt the need to say it again.

and then dream is gone and quackity is here. time for the most banger fight scene to ever be animated in the history of animated fight scenes!

the motion in this fight scene is amazing. techno never stops moving. he’s darting under quackity’s legs, twirling the pickaxe (he’s fighting with a pickaxe!) JUMPING OVER QUACKITY’S HEAD AND YANKING HIS AXE OUT FROM HIS GRASP WHICH IS HONESTLY THE COOLES THING, and that motion continues smoothly when you see the axe get imbedded in the wall, and then you get the ‘put it through your teeth’ which is AMAZING.

and then it slowly fades back to techno’s cabin, and then TOMMY!! he looks so soft in these few seconds when he’s here, and i love that for him, mostly because it shows how much he’s changed. the sound effects when the wither wall is dropping are flawless as well, and i know everyone is saying this as well but i literally cannot, CANNOT get over how techno does the spreading-his-arms-curling-his-fists thing in front of the wither vault like he did in the dawn of the sixteenth animatic in the revolutionary’s vault. we get those two frames- one with techno suddenly splashed in blood, and then the one where that blood turns green and we’re left with only the blood, techno’s eyes and tusks, and the very barest outline of the wither vault, all in the same bright green. techno’s laughter also draws out even through the closing scene, which is another nice touch.

overall? absolutely amazing animatic, so many things to point out and pick apart, and i am definitely going to watch it like eight hundred more times.

Upon rereading tgcf, one of the biggest complaints I have is how lackluster all the extra chapters were. literally none of them were good and all contained rlly gross and harmful sentiments (like the amnesia one which.. yea.. or all the things implying xl should get pregnant for hc thus equating gay relationships with hetero ones and playing into the wife thing and just GOD I HATE MXTX) 

There were a lot of little plot points i wish that had been further elaborated on more in the extras as opposed to hualian being ... like that. I had enough. Like mdzs had actaully good extras (minus the incense burners) that were nice side stories that elaborated more on the characters. Like the hook one with the juniors was so cute and i loved seeing them grow more. Or the lotus pod extras omg.. im such a lotus pod extra stan. those were so cute and gave us a lot of good insight into just how lovestruck lwj was during the times when he didn’t see wwx. mxtx should've stuck to those sorta extras in tgcf but NOOO. SO I have a list of so many other more interesting things those chapters couldve been spent on like:

A resolution on He Xuan’s revenge and his character arc. Bc its implied He Xuan is still hanging out and watching over sqx and that taking revenge didn’t fully satisfy him bc ok.. yea shi wudu is dead but he xuans family will never come back. Now what does he have to live for?? i wish we couldve seen a look into his life during the entire ordeal. like a chapter from his perspective while he was posing as Ming Yi  and maybe a look at a conversation btw he xuan and the real ming yi or a chapter after SQX was banished to see what he’s doing now. Also what did he xuan owe hua cheng money for anyways?? Like ik not every little thing has to be explained but I Want to Know. PLEASE more goth boyfriend content now I just wanna see him :,((

a better resolution of yin yu and quan yizhens storyline. im still mad abt how that plot point was split btw books 3 and 5  when it was rlly out of place and  there were other more pressing plot matters and it just rlly deserved more time. Also i thought yin yu died!?!?!? but apparently one of the extras says he’s alive and man... i;m not reading any more of the extras to see that, give me a full yin yu and quan yizhen chapter.. fuck.

a day in the life of the guoshi fangxin or general hua PLEASE especially like one where hua cheng was SO CLOSE to meeting xie lian but had no clue that xie lian was there at the time but the two did smth that inadvertantly helped the other and they still were connected even though they hadnt met omg pls that’d be so nice. like imagine Hua cheng catching a glimpse of the guoshi in public in yong’an while he’s trying to follow some lead that points to xie lian or maybe following a lead to capture qi rong bc he said he knew qi rong was a part of the yong’an stuff and originally thought the guoshi was one of qi rongs pawns. like can you IMAGINE him getting so close. but at the last second he did smth small that impacted xie lian. like they bumped into eachother on the street or smth. god i’d go crazy

OR vice versa.. like a day in the life of the young ghost king hua cheng. Like again, one of my biggest issues was that hua cheng just knew everything and its never really explained how he got all of that info. like yes he’s been alive very long and has eyes and ppl working for him everywhere but like... how did he build that network?? I’d love to see a chapter of young ghost king hua cheng travelling around trying to learn as much as he can abt the world and how it can help bring him to xie lian. and the two maybe are in the same kingdom for a bit and they don’t meet exactly but hua cheng stops some fight or something and helps xie lian indirectly or maybe xie lian is performing on the street in some costume and hua cheng doesn’t recognize him and smiles and gives him a coin or smth. idk i’m just dying for any sorta extra chapter or fic like that. i’m honestly so tempted to write my own but i cant write

also!! we’ve seen how xie lian picks up people down on their luck near him and show them kindness (like banyue, lang ying, xiao ying, he tried to with san lang but we know how that ended lmao) so i’d love to see another little vignette of him doing that on his travels and how every person he meets teaches him smth about life and being a good person and idk, i just think it’d be rlly sweet. i love this facet of his character and feel like we didn’t see enough of it towards the end.

ALSO hua cheng only seems to respect one heavenly official besides xie lian and thats yushi huang.. i assume thats mostly bc she was the only one to help xie lian and let him use the rain master hat to bring water to yong’an. I was thinking maybe when he was a new supreme he had run into trouble and maybe was picked up by the rain master and helped him heal and in return he promised to help protect her village from harm in the future. Like i know a heavenly official wouldn’t cooperate with a ghost like that but yushi huang is different and doesn’t really care about the heavens so i think she would protect him if he could do something to benefit her village. ik this is kinda far fetched but when he first became a supreme I’m sure a bunch of ppl probably tried to mess with him and didn’t rlly believe him to be undefeatable bc he hadn’t proved himself yet also i doubt all his power came overnight. he had to learn how to use it once he escaped the kiln. and some group probably thought they could weaken him somehow. I’m thinking maybe a rlly well formed group of ghosts actually caught him off guard once and he had to retreat and was picked up by the rain master and stayed with her and learned from her a bit. i think it’d be a cool concept also i just rlly want more yushi huang content and i’m on their friendship agenda bc he rlly did seem to actually respect her when she first appeared and i think it’d be cool if the two had some history together.

Also idrc if this was addressed I couldve missed it But!! Did xie lian ever tell Hua cheng that the reason he got the curse shackles and was banished again in the first place wasnt bc jun wu wanted to punish him, but because he requested it. And specifically requested it bc he felt guilty abt letting wu ming take the human face disease and disperse for his sake. So he took the shackles and descended to atone for that?? Bc I dont recall hua cheng learning that bc his soul was already dispersed at that point so it didnt follow him and xie lian didnt say anything so uhhh... someone should tell hua cheng that. Like I dont think xie lian rlly said how much hua cheng meant to him and didnt show him he was loved in grand ways. Like xie lian did always care for bc in other ways but I think if hua cheng learned abt this on screen it wouldve been such a great moment and I'm rlly surprised mxtx didnt address this iirc!?!? Like imagine jun wu telling Hua cheng this in the kiln bc xie lian wouldnt say it himself. Imagine how cool that would be.

Also a small thing adding into the whole young ghost king Hua cheng stuff. Its implied and p much stated that hua cheng isnt his real name. That he likely doesnt have a real name bc his parents died? (It's not clear. I'm still mad at mxtx for not making his childhood clearer). So I'd like to see when and why hua cheng chose that name for himself. The new tgcf ending song kinda hints at its meaning with the lyrics "for you I'd fill a city of flowers" as xie lian is the flower wielding martial god so it's probably inspired by that. Also xie lian saved hua cheng from leaping off the city walls but I'd love to hear him say it bc the implication of his name didnt dawn on me for quite a bit and I dont know if everyone made the connection. Again I sure as hell didnt. So itd be cool to see a chapter that takes place in his past after just ascending as a supreme

Overall I rlly think tgcf had a lot more potential to be even better and a lot of that comes down to fleshing out the side characters and letting hualian have more of a storyline independent of one another. like i know the appeal and message of tgcf is that through love, people can overcome anything, but fuck man. i just wanna see what these two (mostly hua cheng) where like in the absence of each others presence. Part of what I really liked abt mdzs is that we got to see that longing develop btw wangxian when the two weren’t together and how they thought about each other and did things in thei others spirit bc they knew the other wouldve done the same thing. but whatever, mxtx was too consumed by her own unhealthy idea of what devotion and true love looks like but still. i rlly think the extras couldve helped the story be better rather than be fujoshi fuel that i try to bleach from my mind -_-

Hi, it’s 🫐 again! I’m like 2 hours late with my points and questions but it’s the thought that counts 🤧;

1) This chapter in general was significantly more lighthearted than the previous ones! It’s a nice balance, and a needed one considering what happened last chapter. I’m happy you added the element anon mentioned! It makes it feel more real and it makes sense.

2) I really liked how nice Kiyoomi was to Koushi, he didn’t pressure him and only offered help; it’s nice that he didn’t push Suga to talk to him. I’m kind worried about the latter though, I hope he’s safe right now and on his way over to his room.

3) The tweets were so cute!! I’m surprised Kuroo was there at all, to be honest. I’d have thought he’d turn them down - but it’s nice to see him hanging out with Y/N and the others. It must be a nice break from Meiko and her “harem”.

4) Now, Meiko... when I said she saw the boys as object I didn’t think it’d be so literally, lol. She’s so weird, hasn’t she noticed how they all have been distancing themselves from her? Does she not understand that they’re not into her or hers? Like, what did she think was going on? She seems so... lost in her own little world of lies she’s built around herself, could she really have deluded herself into believing they all really still love her?

5) Also! This is the first time we’ve seen Meiko address Y/N directly, she normally only talks to her through the gc and not to her directly. It’s so on character that the first interaction we see between the two is her being unnecessarily aggressive and borderline delusional.

6) I have an analysis on Meiko’s character, if I’m allowed to ramble; she seems genuinely delusional, like she thinks she can do no wrong. I have the feeling that she might even believe some of her own lies, which is why she feels so entitled to the boys. Meiko seems to have this weird mixture of a superiority and inferiority complex which leads to her needing people needing her. She can’t fathom the idea that she’s not all she thinks she is, though I feel like she might subconsciously know she’s not all that - leading to her lies and manipulation. She’s a manipulative narcissist with a god complex, she thinks she doesn’t only deserve but own the men she’s surrounded herself with.

7) Away from Meiko, Testuro slowly warming up to Y/N and her friends yet still being distant, as annoying as it might be from a reader’s perspective, is not only realistic but also telling of the hold Meiko had on him and how cautious he’s still being. Honestly, he’s one of the characters I don’t see Y/N befriending easily.

8) Now this is something that’s had me thinking! Does Y/N see any of the redeemed boys as friends or close to her? I have the feeling that while she’s not as cold or particularly distant, she’s not as open to them as she’s with Atsumu or HanaMaki. Do the boys not notice or do they not mind? I imagine they do know but don’t mind since they kind of understand why she’s still apprehensive of them, but they’re still trying to get close to her nonetheless. If that’s the case, do they expect her to return any possible feelings (mainly Kenma and Omi) or have they accepted there’s a chance she won’t contact them again once the contact is over?

Overall, this chapter was super interesting and might be a favorite of mine! It’s kind of impressive how much you managed to fit of Meiko’s personality in one text, like kudos Fr0ggy! There’s so many questions and theories I have, I could write a whole essay on PF... it’s the hold you have over your readers and your stories that’s so!! It’s borderline addictive. -🫐

the problems come up when you attack other people for their perspectives on the medium or spread misinformation about different characters based on only watching the perspective you like, but you know - if you’re not doing analysis, you really don’t need to look that deep into it.

i mean... we're not trying to - being against punitive justice is about the fact punishment is wrong, not just certain types of it. asking me what a "fitting punishment" would be is sort of very not getting the point.

hurting people further is not going to teach them anything and it’s not going to help anyone, why is it necessary?

so the answer is: none. he shouldn’t be punished, actually! he should learn on his own that what he did wasn’t right, and that’s about it. that’s the thing about transformative justice. him becoming a better person who Wouldn’t Do That again because it goes against who he is.

however, there’s also restorative justice, which is working to “make it up” to the victims. to which i propose; dream has the revival book and could literally bring him back once he is out of the prison. give him some powder maybe. md would probably be chill w/ that.

no i’m - i’m pretty sure that’s just how it works. dream still owns the smp, but he himself has said wayy back at the beginning “everyone can build and go wherever they want” and that was that. it was one of his rules on the smp, it was his main problem with l’manberg. being able to build anywhere were the rules that he “had the right” to enforce. and he did, not because he was a god, but because it was his smp, his home that he claimed for his friends. wouldn’t call it a big debate, it’s really that simple.
